I bought matching KitchenAid appliances when my husband and I bought our home six years ago and have now had to repair the doors on both the dishwasher and microwave twice. The hinge/spring on the doors doesn't seem to be strong enough to support the extremely heavy doors. These were supposedly high-end appliances, which had an equally high-end price.

Since I have young children at home, I am obligated to have these doors repaired in order to prevent any serious injury. Unfortunately, the company the KithenAid referred me to for the repairs the second time charged an exhorbitant price. KitchenAid denied it had any history of problems with their doors, but now reading this site, I can tell that's not true.

we have the kitchenaid stainless inside outside superba dishwasher, bought not too many years ago. It was around 1k. repaired the door system twice on my own its a flawed design. now the pump froze up, its been loud for 1 yr. it always has a white film inside on dishes, never had issue with GE unit. this unit really is not that old, and only 2 in the household never never buy a kitchenaid product. You are buying a name that represents quality of a time long ago. I am going back to GE. KUDS01FL is a piece of junk. last kithcenaid appliance ever.

I should have read the reviews prior to buying the Kitchen Aid dishwasher. It is an expensive piece of junk. Like most people say, it worked great for a year then the started the spotting, and filming of the dishes. There are food particles left on dishes as well. Lately it's been etching the plastic food containers too. I run the water until it's hot and use Jetdry. I know it's not something I'm doing or not doing because it used to work fine. The cheap on Frigidaire one we had worked better. It broke down and instead of getting it repaired, thought we'd get a really nice one. Yeah, it only looks nice. After reading these reviews, I'm waiting for the door to fall off!

We spent a 1000 on a dishwasher that doesn't work

I opened the door of my KitchenAid dishwasher and it fell to the floor bruising my leg. After reading complaints on this website I see that this is a common problem. I contacted KitchenAid customer service and they have nothing on record that this is a problem. It is the worst dishwasher I've owned in terms of cleaning. My 15 year old Whirlpool was noisy but did a great job on cleaning the dishes.

The dishwasher is out of warranty and since KitchenAid does not see a need for a recall, I will have to pay for the parts and labor cost. All they're willing to do is set up an appointment.

I purchased a brand new kitchen aid dishwasher. I installed it myself. It ran well for one year but then it started to smell and not do a clean wash Fact: I bought a new item from a well known Canadian department store who charged close to 1000. Fact: I trusted the manufacturer and store to produce a good quality product. Fact: The item does not do what it claimed to do, that is, wash dishes. Fact: The product emits a terrible dank smell. Fact; It's going to the dump and is a waste of precious resources.

I'm ticked that I wasted my money on a poorly designed product and then wasted my time installing it, and will now spend another lump of my income buying a different one which I will have to install again.
