I am a Kayak Swimming Pool Dealer in Maryland. My competitor, a local bait-and-switch company, which violates all prescribed business codes descibed by the BBB uses your consumer affairs website expressing complaints from six former customers dating back to 1982.
I now have two issues. Number one I have no way to respond as a legitamate (sic) dealer to these complaints anywhere on your website other than this e-mail source. These six complaints are either beyond warrenty or have simple explanations and are of bogus nature. Number two, my competitor uses this website attached to his website to mislead customers on some of these complaints, which again are non-issues.
Kayak has 35 thousand customers spread over the last 20 years. If all you can post are six bogus complaints with no recourse to me as a dealer than consumeraffairs.com is truly neglagent (sic).
Well, actually, we could post a lot more and after receiving Richard's email we did just that. We welcome his response to any of them that are in his area. Each page of our site has a paragraph at the bottom with information on responding to complaints.

I am the Predident of Kayak Pools Midwest. We are the largest dealership for Kayak Pools and cover Michigan and Illinois. I see a number of complaints in your records regarding us and am somewhat confused that you allow any information that is not confirmed to be on your website. Two of your complaints are in our region with regards to the walls and it specifically spells out in our warranty that the walls carry a 10-yr warranty.
One of the complaints was on a pool with wall problems of a pool 16 yrs old. Kayak has over 50,000 pools in the country and of course you're not gong to please all the people all the time! I do expect to har back from someone regarding this by 1/15/01 or I will contact the Attorney General regarding your unethical business practices of posting illegitimate complaints.
