Steve of Central, AZ (03/26/08) I purchased a set of GE front load washer/dryer in August of 2006, with an extended warranty for 4 additional years. I am now having a problem with the drain pump on the washer. I called Home Depot and have been getting the run around for about two weeks now. They tell me to call GE for anything that is over 1 year. I call GE and they could not find the warranty info and said that Home Depot needs to contact them to straighten out the problem.
I called Home Depot back to relay the information to them and the rep gave me a number to call to register the warranty myself. Thinking that this might expedite the repair I went ahead and called them. The response was that I could initiate the registration, but it might take 1-1.5 months to get it completed before any repair could be ordered. I called Home Depot back and told them this information and have now been waiting for about 1 week for action.

Dawn of Hiawatha IA (03/12/08) The day the LG Dryer I purchased from Home Depot was delivered and set up, it was making a loud noise. The delivery person said that after awhile the noise would go away. The noise did not go away, so I called Home Depot, and they referred me to LG Electronics to have it repaired. Since the noise started the DAY IT WAS DELIVERED, I wanted the dryer replaced and not repaired. It was faulty when I got it!
LG Electronics has refused to replace it. The manager at Home Depot said LG Electronics has terrible customer service, and they NEVER replace appliances, they only repair them. I contacted Better Business Bureau to get this resolved, but LG refused to replace my faulty dryer. Going through Better Business Bureau did not help. Then I went into Home Depot to discuss the faulty dryer. The manager said he'd get back to me and never called back. This has been going on for over a year now. Where do I go from here?
LG Electronics does not stand by their product and neither does Home Depot. I am extremely frustrated. I will continue to fight for a replacement dryer because IT WAS FAULTY WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED. Rick of Mesquite, TX March 10, 2008
Rick of Mesquite TX (03/10/08) Our refrigerator went out on Thursday, so my wife went to Home Depot on Friday and ordered a new one, with a total cost of over 2,100. The sales person told her it would be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. On Monday the delivery company called and said it would be Friday - one full week after we bought it. I called the store and talked to Ray, the assistant manager. He said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. I argued with him, but he insisted it was out of his hands. I am amazed that one of the largest corporations in the world outsources the most important customer experience. I am also amazed that they do not empower their local managers to do whatever it takes to make buyers of large items satisfied. Being without a refrigerator for a full week is more than just inconvenient - it's expensive.
Had to eat out for a full week. Lisa of New York, NY March 6, 2008
Lisa of New York NY (03/06/08) They delivered a small refrigerator on the wrong day, which my doorman Louis Torres signed for, and then Louis claims he gave it back to them. My refrigerator was stolen.
I am out 180.00. Please sue them. Eric of Owings Mills, MD February 15, 2008
Eric of Owings Mills MD (02/15/08) I purchased a stove, refrigerator and dishwasher (all stainless steel) in Aug. 2007. In the first delivery two of the three appliances had scratches and dings. The crew (who spoke very little English) could only deliver the dishwasher. I was told to call store to set up a new delivery date for stove and fridge, which was done. On the 2nd delivery, the stove was fine but the fridge was too big for the space (the crew measured), and we needed a smaller size. So the fridge was not even taken off the truck, and again it was a crew who spoke little English. I went to the store to re-order fridge in a smaller size only to find that the smaller size was much more expensive than the original. Was also told by the clerk we would need to pay another delivery fee, but after asking for the manager, he waived the delivery fee after hearing our tale of woe! The fridge was set up for a third delivery day was delivered with no problem.
I mailed in the rebate for 500 rebate Sept. 2007. To this date (Feb 15, 2008) I have not received any rebate. I have tried calling the store who gave no assistance. They had tons of excuses why it may not be back. I'm not sure at this point what to do. It leaves me scratching my head wondering how they have continued to get away with this kind of questionable behavior. HOPE YOU CAN HELP!
