Who to Contact at Electrolux/Frigidaire

Marla of Fogelsville, PA June 30, 2009

We have a Frigidaire side by side and have only had it for 4 years. The ice maker chooses when it will work and when it will not work. We have lost food twice already from it not staying cold. First it was the circuit board going and waiting on repair person now, but I'm guessing compressor or freon leak since it just will not stay cold. I will never buy this brand again.

C of Sterrett, AL June 25, 2009

We have had our Frigidaire Refrigerator about 5 years. So far, we have had a problem with the gaskets pulling off the doors and we have not been able to re-set them so that they stay in place. We have also had to replace the water filter housing/assembly twice (YEP, 2 TIMES!) because it has cracked. (It is made of PLASTIC!) In my opinion there are serious design flaws in this Refrigerator. (Model FRS26R4CW0) The freezer air blows down on the water filter and causes it to crack. Moving the filter or placing it inside a guard or deflector would stop this costly repair altogether. The last quote for this repair was well over 300.

Mitzi of Eden, NC June 23, 2009

Mr. P, the escalation specialist never responded to my e-mail. The toll-free telephone number on the warranty/instruction manual is a joke. Instead of "most questions can be answered . . . " should read NO questions will be answered. Instead referred to a long distance number with a no-CSR who put me on hold while she called the repair man to confirm my story. My refrigerator is only 20 months old and we're already having freon problems! Ofcourse no warranty coverage, and ofcourse, I didn't buy the extended warranty.

Phil of Brooks, GA June 21, 2009

I purchase a frigidaire single door refrigerator from Appliance Smart in Feburary 2007 for 900.00. Due to renovations the unit wasn't delievered for a year. The refrigerator quit cooling after six months due to a coolant leak. We called a frigidaire rep who replace the coolant and charged 100.00. The refrigerator worked for six days and quit cooling again. We are now told it will cost 400.00 to fix the leak. We have had other refrigerators that lasted for 20 years. This piece of junk's warranty went out while it was still in the box in Appliance Smart's warehouse.

My wife and I purchased this Frigidaire Refreg. in 1999. The Model No. MRT18GRGWO Manufactured 01-98. We just finished having a wood floor installed in our kitchen and started to move the above item into place, much to our dismay it scratched the floor leaving 6.5-inch long deep scratch about 3.25-inches wide in our new floor. After saying a few choice words we had our grandson tilt the thing backwards just enough for me to remove the offending item. I was the front wheels. Upon inspection we found that both of the bolts were bent that was holding the wheels. They were much too thin to hold the weight of the refg. much less the weight of the food inside. Also I inspected the compressor, it was holding the drip tray on top of it which was full and about to spill over which would have dripped onto the wiring plug which I checked with an electrican and he informed me that in his oppinion it would have caused a fire. Since I am very handicaped and have to use an electric chair to get around if it had started a fire I do not think I could have made it to safety. My advice to you is check and double check the way your products are made for safety and replace any bolts that you should know are much to thin to hald any weight. By the way it is now going to cost me about 4,000.00 to remove and replace my new flooring just to get rid of the scratch product caused. If it was still under warinty I would have [Frigidaire] in court for the cost to replace my flooring plus building a faulty product as well as a fire hazard.

I bought this side by side fridge FRIGIDAIRE MODEL#FRS26KR4ABO from Sears...I have experienced problems with the ice maker. Now I have just notice that under the plastic part on the freezer door where you get your ice etc. The paint is bubbling. This company have other brand names and I am avoiding them all in the future.

Laura of Millwood , GA June 8, 2009

My 5 yr. old side by side freezer door is also rusting and paint bubbling around the ice tray. I have read several other complaints about this happening to others.

roxanne of york, PA May 31, 2009

I do not have a complaint about the business, but about Fridigaire Refrig that was purchased new approx. 2 years ago, less than a year after purchase Rombergers had to replace compressor and now less than a year later refrig. went out again- I do believe a large purchase such as a refrig. should last longer than that -as we cannot afford to purchase another as we are on a limited income, husband became disabled last year- also both times we lost a lot of food.

Barbara of Cape Coral, FL May 31, 2009

We had a new home built and the house was furnished with Fridigaire appliances. We have been in the house for 3 1/2 years and have had a problem with our refrigerator ice maker and had that replaced 2 times in the first year. Now we are seeing rust starting under the ice and water dispenser on the door. I called Fridigaire and they told me it was not under warranty because we did not get the extended warranty for it.

I inquired if there was a recall on the problem and they told me they didn't know of any but I would have to have a service repairman come and tell me what I needed. I know the whole door has to be replaced and you can't get just the front panel. We did not get the extended warranty after the second year because I thought that it should last at least 20 years. In January we had the relay replaced after it blew out and the house filled with smoke. I am not happy with Fridigaire at all and would like to know if there is any help out there for this issue.

Mary of Lancaster, CA May 30, 2009

On May 29,09 my 9 yr old frigidaire freezer temperature alarm went off. I noticed my popsicles were thawed. I figured it was time to replace with an energy efficient so I went to Lowes and purchased a Frigidaire upright frezer model # LFFH21F7HWC and had it delivered the same day and they took my old freezer that was at least working. I was told after 4 hours it would be cold enough to transfer my food into it.

Well The internal temp was at 88 degrees when it was pluged in and after 6 hours it was the same. When I opened the freezer door all that was in there was hot air. After reading some complaints about Frigidaire/Electrolux I see people have been having problems with the compressors or fans. This model never even got cool. Unfortunately I had put my freezer contents into coolers thinking it would be in them like 4 hours while the freezer cooled down. Well it never did.

I went back to Lowes and yes they will replace it but I have to wait until tomorrow for a new one. The manager told me to use coolers for my freezer contents. There is no way all my food will stay frozen until they deliver another one. It seems like there are an awful lot of complaints about there freezers and refrigerators. I had the same size freezer so I must have way over the 700.00 in food that is going to spoil. I sure would not replace it with another frigidaire but I know I can not get one delivered by anyone else. My freezer food can not stay in coolers any longer.

Spoke to Lowe's of Lancaster. Manager Josh. He said for me to use coolers for my frozen food. They would not be able to redeliver me a working unit until tomarrow like 18 hours later. They use 3 rd party to deliver and stated no one at the store could deliver me one when all this happened. I am very disappointed with Lowe's and with what I have read about frigidaire. I'm sorry I gopt rid of my old working freezer.
