Dacor Appliances

---

Cliff of Apollo Beach FL (11/23/08)
Purchased a DACOR 36 Outdoor Kitchen BBQ and had the builder install the unit in a custom built home. The unit was a top of the line stainless steel unit and very expensive. After a year, the ignitors failed and blew the circuit breakers. A repairman came out to service the unit and found severe corrosion and rust surrounding the ignitor housing. Wires had obviously rusted through and shorted out. The unit was stainless steel except internal parts. Florida humidity rusted out the outdoor screws, ignitors and wiring. This was obviously a flaw in the design of an outdoor grill

Dacor was called and letters written to the CEO without any response. DACOR does not stand behind their product. Now this expensive outdoor kitchen grill has to be lit by hand and no longer has the safety gas turn-off feature. Extremely disappointing for the price paid. I would stay away from the DACOR outdoor grill in high humidity areas of the country. Also, their customer service is extremely poor.

Purchased expensive gas cook-top. Turn it on and - click, click, click.

We purchased an Epicure 60 inch range for around 10,000.00 and shortly after it was installed the burners started clicking; as if the ignitors are trying to light even though they are already lit. The first service man told me to keep sandpaper handy so I could take apart the rings and sand them down every couple months. They have since been replaced or repaired many times.

As of the last service call, I was told the problem could not be fixed. I am now stuck with an expensive appliance that I can not fix and can't affort to replace. Dacor is not standing behind their product and not even responding to my phone calls!

Dacor Built-in Microwave DMT2420S [2005]: I pushed 'Baked potato', went outside to turn the steaks and found the kitchen engulfed in thick smoke. The micro clock showed '20 minutes to go'. It stopped when the door was opened, but the micro was ruined. No refund was given. It was our word against theirs.
