DEBRA of POWHATAN, VA October 21, 2009 I have had my Bosch washer and dryer for 2 years now and have had to replace the top on each machine because of the black marks left by anything that touches them even clothes, now I am ready for another one. The tops are horrible, you should be able to put clothes on the top. I would like for Bosch to replace the tops again and give me a couple of spares, so I do not have to go through this again. Or they need to replace the tops with a non-scratch top which would be better. I noticed the last time I was in Lowes the tops are different. So help me! Bonnie of Bolinas, CA October 20, 2009 I purchased a Bosch Range, installed on October 16, 2009. Model # HG57282UC/04 The first time I used the oven on October 17, '09, at 350 degrees, after 15 minutes the frame of the range and the burner knobs became so hot, I burned my thumb while turning on the burner. Heat escapes from the door, but there are no bent hinges or anything broken. It is a design flaw in this Bosch Range, and I suspect others. I called Bosch Customer Service and they said they would give me the telephone numbers for repair folks in my area. They were not willing to take any responsibility for a defective product or the danger involved. Tara of Mount Pleasant, SC October 13, 2009 My husband purchased me a Bosch Nexxt 100 series front loading washing machine from Lowe's about 3 years ago. Within six months a tech had to come out to make a repair. During that time period we noticed mold and mildew all around the seal. After numerous calls to Bosch I was told to do what I had already done and that was to run the washer on hot water with bleach after every few loads, leave the door open for the drum to air out and wipe down the seal after each use. Surely they were kidding. I have never had to leave my washing machine door open on any of the prior machines that I have owned. Unfortunately my washing machine is in a laundry room off of my kitchen and I can no longer close the door due to the washer door having to remain open. This really adds to the decor of my kitchen!!!! I was also told by Bosch that I could purchase a "new" seal for approximately 70 uninstalled. With labor I am sure that it would have cost me at least 150 or more to replace a defective part that should not have been defective in the first place. We spent more on this washer than any of the top loading washers which lasted us for years! I am extremely disappointed in the customer service that Bosch offered which basically was none and I will be sure to tell anyone out there looking for appliances to stay away from them. Each time I contacted them they basically read me the same maintenance requirement rules offering no additional help. My washing machine looks disgusting inside and bleach has not taken away any of the mildew and mold. It actually seems to be getting worse. I can only imagine what is living in the extra water in the basin causing this mess! What is really gross is that there is even mildew and mold behind the seal. nothing like doing laundry and wiping black slime out of the drum after each load. It appears that a lot of folks have experienced the same problem so I am very surprised that Bosch has not sent out a recall on this lousy product making good on an item of poor quality that they charged a ridiculous amount of money for. Fifty percent of my clothes come out with a horrible odor. Having purchased both a washer and dryer I have a tendency to believe that both products are of poor quality. Many times my clothes come out of the dryer and are damp which leads me to believe that the sensors do not work. In the event that there is any way to recoup a new washer, one that actually performs as stated, please let me know and I will drop this piece of junk off at Lowe's tomorrow!!!! LAurel of Franklin, TN October 12, 2009 We purchased a 1m plus property with "high end" kitchen package which included Bosch appliances. This was a flip and so we owned it over a year, before anyone moved in. So, even though the appliances had never been used, they were out of warranty. Before we had tenants move in, we had to have 3 burners & thermocouplers replaced in the cooktop (500 repair), which had been used less than 5 times that year. After a couple of weeks, the burners quit working, and when we called to have it serviced again we were told that it wasn't working because it needed to be braced since the granite was cut a little too big for the cooktop. I have to tell you, I never felt any give on this appliance, but they shored it up with a two by four and so far it's working. I do NOT like the fact that you have to hold the gas knob in for 15 seconds or more to get the gas to stay on. Doesn't seem like long until you stand at the stove counting while you hold the knob. I was told this is "european" design, which makes me long for good ol' AMERICAN design! IN addition, the hood lights burned out, and to replace the bulbs, you have to use a tiny screwdriver to remove the housing and can only buy the bulbs from the dealer, not your local home improvement store (for 15 each). When the bulb burned out in 2 weeks, we were told that happens sometimes, due to the amount of heat and moisture coming off the cooktop. Well GEE, since they made that too, you'd think they would have designed it better. No wait, this way they sell more bulbs! I would never purchase or recommend a BOSCH appliance based on this experience. Surely there's a better design and more reliable product out there! Laura of Cos Cob, CT October 10, 2009 I just came across the complaints on this website about Bosch washing machines. Until today, I thought I just had a 'lemon'. My machine makes the clothes smell terrible unless I spray the drum periodically with bleach and then run a full cycle AND prop the door open between uses. The control panel will show 1 hour to wash a load, when I come back 1/2 an hour later, it says 1 hour 40 mins left (or some other time that's greater than the original time). I have to take soaking wet clothes out of the machine at times, untwist them all and manhandle them back in and redo the spin cycle. The beep at the end of the cycle stopped working for several months and just started again (I prefer it not working!) Our clothes are 'worn' looking very quickly and my husband's 'tighty whities' become dusting cloths very fast! I complain constantly about the machine, so much that my husband tells me to go buy a different model even though we spent over 1000 on this one last year. I just needed to vent and add my advice: DO NOT BUY A BOSCH WASHING MACHINE. Richard of Telford, PA October 8, 2009 In January, 2007 I purchased a Bosch ExactTemp gas Range/Oven from Lowes. The electronic control panel is difficult to use. It's a smooth surface "touch pad" type and always was hard to enter numbers - you had to press very hard. Now it's usually impossible to set the clock or the timers, thus greatly reducing the product's utility. It is out of warranty, but I wanted to log this complaint so others will know to avoid their products. steve of sf, CA October 8, 2009 I am totally frustrated with this dishwasher. We bought Bosch since it was renowned for its engineering. The dishwasher had sporadically not finished draining at the end of its cycles. It became increasingly difficult and finally nothing could get it to finish the draining process. I thought maybe it was just that my dishwasher had worn out. Then I went on the web. Search Google with the terms "Bosch dishwasher won't drain" and hundreds of similar complaints come up. It spans several models. The repairman said it was a flaw with the plastic fittings that connect the dishwasher to the sink drain. I wrote a letter to Bosch asking if they were aware of the problem and asking for reimbursement for the repairs. After several form letter brush offs, they replied that their dishwasher was fine. Essentially they chose to ignore all these consumers. I would have hoped they would have been at least interested in investigating the problem. I recommend not buying a Bosch dishwasher. Priscilla of Hernando, MS October 6, 2009 I purchased a Bosch front loading washer, Series 300 from Lowes in July, 2008. These machines are not cheap, but I thought "it's a Bosch"-it will last forever-NOT! First, I noticed mildew around the seal and this fowl ordor in my clothes.I called Lowes and talked to the sales rep explaining my dilemma-he said Oh- you need to wipe the seal with a clorox cloth after every load. Really? Does it say that in the manual? I'm washing my clothes with detergent and bleach already-why would I need to follow up with a clorox cloth? The seal holds dirt, grime and then mildews-HUGE flaw in the design. It's disgusting when your clothes come out smelling worse than when you put them in. My husband and I both have allergies and we've been sicker since we got this washer!I have to use a Mildew spray on the seal, but even then- it's permantly stained. Second, the washer would not go though the spin cycle completely -it would just stop leaving the clothes sopping wet.Another call to Lowe's -their suggestion was to run them through the spin cycle again (duh?)-that I could be overloading the washer. They seem to have a list of pat answers! Third, the door cracked where the screws were and had to be replaced (thankfully still under warranty at this point). When the tech came out to replace the door, I asked about the mildew problem and he suggested that when I'm not using the washer-leave the door proped open so it can get air and won't mildew! You have to be kidding? This is obsurd-I paid a lot of money for a washer that I have to clean after every load and prop the door open so the seal doesn't mildew . Why don't we just go back to using a rubboard or wash the clothes in the bathtub? This washer is more trouble than it's worth-I would never ever recommend this product to anyone! It is a HUGE disapointment and a huge monetary waste. I could have bought a top loader for half the price- like I've used for 30 years and never had a mildew problem! I have friends who have bought the LG and Kenmore and love them- but I'm stuck with this. Bosch should replace all these washers, as far as I'm concerned it's very unsanitary and unhealthy- no different than living in a house that has mold in it! On a good note, I do like the dryer. Bryan of Wichita, KS October 3, 2009 I purchased a Bosch Dishwasher from Lowe's on 12/31/06. The model number is SHE46C06UC (Lowe's only model). I paid a premium and bought Bosch because it was supposed to be top of the line. It is very quiet, but, it has continually gotten noisier and has acquired a "chirp" at given points during the cycle. These "minor" issues aside! Recently, I have experienced long run times, with the unit getting to 1 minute left in the cycle and running endlessly. I have to manually stop the dishwasher or it will run forever. The dishes are not getting clean and, based upon the light indicator, they are not being sanitized. Needless to say, I am frustrated. A quick search of the web revealed that this is a common problem caused by a burnt out control unit. There was even a recall notice, but my model was outside the range of manufacturing dates for the recall. Apparently, the issue has not been corrected! I called Bosch and, as with others, their response is it's out of warranty and you'll need to get a service technician out to your home. The customer service individual said I couldn't talk to Bosch tech support because I don't have some sort of authorization number as an authorized repair individual. Helen of Elk Grove, CA October 2, 2009 I too have been very unhappy with my front loading Bosch washer, there is mildew build up and now the housing has cracked around the front screws. Also, no matter how little detergent you use it takes two cycles to get a clear rinse, where's the water saving when you have to wash everything twice? My machine is now 15 months old and I feel I threw away 1000 and upon the recommendation of the Lowe's salesman. This is the last time I buy a Bosch product or an appliance from Lowe's. I should have gone back to the Maytag dealer. Report Your Experience
