I cannot sing enough praises for the Aspen Dental crew in Poplar Bluff Mo.! I was expecting to have to wait a month for an appointment, but they got me in within 2 days. Dr. ** did an amazing job! He made sure that i didn't feel a thing. I need work done, and it's Aspen Dental in Poplar Bluff that has my business. Thank you again!

I still have no complaints about the treatment I have received from the local Aspen Dental office. The employees are all kind and compassionate. I didn’t feel pressured to do anything I didn’t want to do. I didn’t feel like they were trying to “up sale” me on anything. I wouldn’t have a problem recommending this office to anyone. Gesielle is a great dental assistant and she is calming and comforting during the process. I feel that she has given me information I needed to make my own personal health conditions.

This place is a complete joke. I worked in dentistry for 23 years and to be honest I don’t know why I even went to them. I have seven distractions done, and I also had a top and bottom partial made. The partial did not fit at all. They make the partial three times and none of them fit two of the missing teeth at the top. The partial do not fully touch the gum line. I wish I could post a picture. Then when I went in for an adjustment because it wasn’t right, they wanted to charge me. I asked him, "Why are you charging me when this mess don’t even fit." Then on top of that pieces of the partial are breaking off. And I haven’t had the partial two months. I don’t even wear the bottom partial because I can’t even close my mouth correctly with both partial in. Like I said this place is a complete joke. I won’t be going back.

I thought that for the first time in my 65 years of existence, I would try the corporate dental practice of Aspen Dental to see if it compared with independent dental practices. The initial $29 offer for new patients to have full series and panoramic x-rays taken, a consult with one of their hygienist and ultimately an exam from the dentist was very attractive given these are typically expensive first visits at most independent practices. However, after having the x-rays performed I waited for the hygienist to perform his/her exam. The hygienist was either out to lunch or not available, whether with another patient and/or the office staff may have been short-handed? Eventually, after a longer than normal wait for the hygienist, the dental assistant went to get the dentist to perform her exam.
Dr. Aesha ** examined my x-rays and my mouth and ultimately informed me that 'because of bone loss' in certain areas, I would most likely be a candidate for 'deep cleanings' in the future. I was told that if a deep cleaning was performed, I could only have future deep cleanings in the future and would no longer be a candidate for the lesser expensive prophy. Dr. ** was very cordial and professional and even relayed, when queried, that her advice was unbiased and that she was a salaried physician and was not trying to up-sell me unnecessary procedures. Since the hygienist was still unavailable to see me, I was introduced to Katherine, the Office Manager, who reviewed my x-rays with Dr. ** and subsequently took me into her office to share with me what my cost for a 'deep cleaning' would be after my Veterans Discount was applied. The cost was itemized and broken down on three 8.5x11 inch pages.
The initial cost to me; if I were to schedule follow-up would be $1923.00. Subsequent 'deep cleanings' would be lower but still substantially higher and needed more frequently. I told Katherine that I was taken aback by the quoted price as I had never had any problems with any of my extensive 'mostly cosmetic in nature and protection' dental work. No cavities, root canals, extractions (other than wisdom teeth in 1980). I then told her that given the cost, I would like to get a second opinion from another dentist. I asked her if I could avail myself of the x-rays for review by a third-party and she said; "Of course!" I asked for same and was told that my request for copies to be emailed to me would have to be submitted and approved by corporate and that if approved, I could expect them within 3 -4 days.
I did seek another dentist's opinion and also scheduled a prophy on the same day. I made an appointment for two days later, provided my 2023 x-rays to that dentist and the hygienist who examined and cleaned my teeth. Upon completion of the cleaning and exam, I shared my Aspen Dental Dental 'advice for further treatment.' Both the dentist and hygienist were appalled by this diagnosis! The hygienist even asked to share with her fellow hygienist at the practice my story. I said sure and I left her my itemized breakdown given to me by Katherine at Aspen Dental. My hygienist, after cleaning and upon inquiring what level of cleaning would I be considered, she said that I was a Class II prophy given I had not had a cleaning in 14 months. She also stated that after the cleaning she was performing, I would then be a Class I prophy patient. She also said that she did not see any 'bone loss' on my x-rays from 2023.
Note: Two days after receiving my Aspen Dental x-rays, I submitted them to the private practice dentist and they concurred with the hygienist who has 22 years experience cleaning teeth that there was NO BONE LOSS attributable on the latest x-rays. I will not be returning to any other corporate dental offices. To say the least, an no pun intended; Aspen Dental left a 'bad taste' in my mouth!

Horrible, Horrible experience!! Please don't come here! I now believe that the good reviews are not real, but written by Aspen. I went in with a bad tooth, they did xrays. And told me I needed three teeth crowned. The price....over $10,000!!! This is not a typo over $10,000! I had only one tooth that was hurting me, it was the very back tooth, so I asked them to pull it so that I could be relieved from my pain. Little did I know that this was just the start of my pain. Went in for my appointment and the assistant start numbing the wrong side of my mouth! I should of gotten up and ran then, but they already had half my money. My dentist is now retired, which why I gave this place a try.
My old dentist would give me the numbing shot and it never hurt. This was quite painful here, but the assistant assured me this was the worst. Lie!! I was in so much pain and it was a horrible horrible experience. I was being pushed down so hard that the assistant held my lower jaw so the dentist would not break it. Yes the numbing shot did its job, but it can't stop the pain from all that pressure. The tooth broke I heard it hit the wall! I was crying and had my feet on the chair wanted to get up and run! Then after it was all over I was informed that he broke the part of the filling out of the tooth next to it, but unfortunately those things happens, so I will have to come back and get that tooth crown.
No way on this earth will I ever step foot in this office again!!! He also left that broken tooth with a sharp piece that was jabbing my tongue, which I didn't realize it was this way because my tongue was numb for hours. I had to find another dentist the very next day to repair the broken tooth that he caused. Please, Please look elsewhere for your dentist and not this horrible place!!

Made an appointment for my husband to get X-rays, exam, and cleaning. Went in, got a 1,000 X-rays and was told that he had periodontal disease and three cavities. My husband is crazy obsessed about his dental care. And has never had any issues in the past. Was told that a treatment plan to get everything done would cost $4330. This is absolutely mind blowing to me. We will never be back and I would never recommend them to anyone.

I went for a consult for a pain I was having in one tooth. They offered me a same day appointment. They referred me to a specialist for confirmation of a cracked tooth. I had the appointment I opted for a route canal. After the procedure, I called Aspen Dental to put in the filling. They claimed they didn't have any results and didn't know what I was to get done. Even though I had the route canal. I was told she would have to call me back the next day. I didn't receive a phone call. Called again on Monday. I got the run around again. I didn't yell or swear. But I was clearly upset. She didn't like my tone and said I need another consult. She ended the call and no one called me or did any kind of follow-up. I was fortunate enough to find another dentist that takes my insurance and is going to fill it in.

OMG -My husband & I called & scheduled appointments through their scheduling center. We were told there was a promotion no charge for XRays & cleaning and we could have our teeth cleaned the same day. We go in & have a 1,000 XRays done, gums & teeth checked then they tell us the cleaning is not free they can’t do it the same day and present me with estimate for teeth cleaning of $2,488, and my husband $2,634. Neither of these include any antibiotics or anything else that may be needed. I about fell out of the chair & needless to say we both walked out. What a joke!! I have never paid anything near that for a teeth cleaning. Beware!!!

SHADY COMPANY!!! Absolute rip-off! They bill for phantom procedures. I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Aspen Dental office located at Butler plaza, Gainesville FL was an absolute nightmare, primarily due to their dishonest billing practices. After visiting for a routine cleaning I later reviewed my insurance statement and itemized bill. To my shock, I was charged for an extensive deep-cleaning (scaling and root planing) and multiple fluoride treatments that were never performed.
When I called the office to dispute these charges, the front desk staff was completely unhelpful, defensive, and gave me the runaround for weeks. They kept promising a manager would call me back, but no one ever did. It feels like a predatory scheme to squeeze extra money out of patients and insurance companies. Please save your hard-earned cash and check your itemized bills carefully if you decide to go here. I will never be returning!

I needed a tooth extracted. Called Statesboro office and they said that they didn't have any hopes so they transferred me to the Rincon office. Went there. Had these expensive ass trays done on my whole mouth. Mind you i only needed one tooth extracted . Did all that for them to tell me I had to come back for my tooth to be pulled. Okay I tried to make appointment to come back and I had to pay 60 dollars for an extraction. Okay that was fine. So when I called for appointment they referred me to Statesboro office. They had an appointment so I took it so tell me why the office gonna call me and conf6 my dental exam. I told the lady that I had already did this in their Rincon office. These people wanted me to have exams done again and still not pull my teeth. The receptionist very rude.

I would highly recommend you avoid Aspen Dental, or get a second opinion. They quoted me $3000 after insurance (Delta Dental Premier) for a periodontal cleaning. When I asked why, they said it was because they needed to use an antibiotic not covered by my insurance (???). I then asked for my x-rays that they took to be sent to a different dentist for a second opinion and they sent it to a .com email instead of a .org email, even though in my release it was clearly the correct .org email. They said that the department that handles records is separate from the office that took the x rays and it would take at least 3 business days to get it resent. This was the day of my appointment at the second location. They also told me there was no way to contact the department that sends out the x rays and that they also couldn’t call the department.
I called the main customer line and eventually they were able to send it directly to my personal email, though that was still going to take 1-3 business days. I eventually got my records and the dentist I saw only charged me $1000 with insurance. I essentially spent a month trying to get basic dental care due to their incompetence. I called and left a complaint, but they’re seem unreceptive and since it’s such a large chain, I doubt anyone will ever hear my complaint. So, long story short, do not trust their estimates

I don't have complaints about the actual dental care, other than they sold me equipment, a mouth guard that in hindsight, I feel I didn't need, but I take responsibility for falling for the spiel. In regards to billing. I was led to believe that I would not be charged over and above what my insurance paid, and months later received a bill, wound up paying close to $400 above what my insurance paid, which was a Medicare Advantage Plan, and would not allow me to make payments.
Aspen threatened to turn me over to a collection agency, which would impact my credit rating. Aspen is, in effect, a monopoly in my area when it comes to insurance, at least 90% of the dentists listed in my coverage are affiliated with Aspen. Having said that I will in the future drive out of my area to find a dentist not affiliated with Aspen who takes my insurance if I must. I will never again go to Aspen for my dental needs because of their defective billing practices. They need to be upfront with patients about uncovered costs and at least provide estimates so that the patient can make informed decisions about what services to accept and not. If I had been informed. I would have accepted only services to or what brought me there, which was a toothache.

If I could give zero stars I would. I made an appointment for my son and I a few weeks ago. They hounded me for my info to complete prior to the appointment with deadlines, asking for multiple confirmations for the appointments which now, in hindsight, I should have realized was a red flag. I complied with all of those things. Today I got a phone call 1 hour before our appointments were set to begin at an office that’s about 40 minutes from our home (I was en route) telling me my sons insurance is stating he is ineligible. I found this to be absolutely absurd given all of the correspondence between them and I over the last few weeks, but I stated I would call them back with info. Before I could even return the phone call I get a call from someone different in the office telling me they have to cancel my appointment for an “emergency”.
I absolutely cannot believe how unprofessional this company is. I got told by multiple people they were awful, but I like to see things for myself. I won’t be making that mistake again. If you’re looking for a reliable company I implore you to seek care elsewhere. I took off today for these dental appointments and have wasted a day. I could have spent doing something fun with my children for this nonsense.

I had a tooth that broke so I went to Aspen Dental. They took xrays which is totally normal. Where the problem was when the dentist came in she was already set on what "She" wanted to do. Very rude. Didn't care what I had to say. I've been through a broken tooth and know there are other ways to fix it. But all she kept saying is I'm going to pull that tooth and the one beside it (which had nothing wrong with it), and do a partial. Well... no I'm not having teeth pulled for no reason. Also wanted to pull a tooth that had a filling 'cause she didn't like the way it looked. After reading reviews about this company and talking to another Dentist, that told me that I didn't need them pulled, I canceled my appointment and got almost $3,000 back. Don't trust this company. They up sell for things that are not necessary. My gums and teeth are healthy and I'm not allowing anybody to pull teeth for no reason.

Do not trust this organization. In my experience, they retained patient funds as “credits” without transparency or proper communication. I was told they were in network when they were not, and I was charged an amount upfront that later did not align with my insurance explanation of benefits. This created significant issues with my FSA and reimbursement. As I tried to resolve this, I was informed that my insurance denied services and that I owed additional money. However, after reviewing the Explanation of Benefits, it did not reflect those denials. I relied on that information at the time and paid the additional amount. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Patients should be able to trust the accuracy of billing and insurance explanations, and that was not my experience here. Attempts to obtain clarification and resolution through the office have been frustrating, as communication with management has not provided clear answers or timely assistance. DON'T DO IT!! At least not in Glen Carbon Illinois. Get your teeth the same day, NOT SO MUCH!!! I went in to get implants on my top. They said they prefer to do both at once so they extracted 8 or 9 I think teeth on my bottom front that I had left and drilled the holes for the post on the actual teeth they were going to be implanting 6 months later and that was on April 22nd and it is now May 24th and I still have yet to have teeth. How embarrassing! They have fit me for two sets of temporary dentures. The first mold they took was an absolute disaster and the second one was not much better. I can't help but think if they have any idea of what they're doing. I cannot close my mouth if I wear them. More or less actually do anything or talk. I'm still eating mashed potatoes and Jello every day.
So since the day they gave me my last set I have only worn the tops. I have not worn the bottoms for one day and even only wearing the tops it looks like I have buckteeth which I've just made my peace with but still have no ability to chew anything. They do something called a soft align which makes them fit better and they said they could fit me in at any time if I needed to get it realigned because it takes such a little amount of time to do so and I called and told them that I really badly needed it that they're just falling around in my mouth and that one of the areas is rubbing a spot raw on my upper jaw but they were not able to fit me in and are making me wait till June 4th which was when my next appointment was.
I've never been so uncomfortable, so ashamed to go out in public and so hungry in my life. And thankfully I only paid for the first half of the procedure which was getting my teeth pulled and getting the temporary dentures but now I'm supposed to trust these people when I pay him the next $10,000 to actually get me teeth that fit. I think I'm going to try to look at other options but I don't even know if I have any. Worst experience ever.
