If you are here looking for reviews to help you decide if you want to use Quickbooks. Read as many of these reviews on BBB and run don't just walk away RUN FAR AND FAST. It is so hard to get away from once in their web as most reviews have stated. They bleed you dry of your money. They take advantage of their clients and all because they know once on Quickbooks it will cost a fortune and take a lot of time to get away from it. And it is just getting worse. If you have not priced Enterprise do that now because just like the have phased out the Desktop software they will phase out the QBO software.
The Enterprise is triple or quadruple the price you pay for QBO now. Just RUN. The customer service is horrible, they call 20 times a week wanting to open a line of credit preapproved waiting for you -- blah blah blah and you can not block them. They call from 10,000 different numbers to stop that from being an option. JUST RUN, RUN FAST AND DO NOT LOOK BACK. Do not get sucked into their scam.

I noticed suspicious activity involving my QuickBooks (1-888-821-6854) account and became concerned about possible fraud. I recommend reviewing your account activity carefully and contacting Intuit through its official support channels if you notice unauthorized changes or transactions. QuickBooks advises users not to share passwords or verification codes and to report suspicious activity promptly.

⭐ **1 Star**. I am extremely disappointed with QuickBooks Online. I recently migrated from QuickBooks Desktop, where I never had problems with Instant Deposit. Since moving to QuickBooks Online, Instant Deposit has not worked properly, and I have called support numerous times without any resolution. I have spent hours trying to fix this issue and keep getting passed around with no results. I expected much better service from QuickBooks.

I have been QuickBooks desktop customer since 2013, desktop bundle subscriber since I registered my small bookkeeping business. I do not like QBO and never recommend it to my clients, unless they absolutely must have it or their business has a simple structure. QB desktop software is great; however, yearly price increase is killing it. They constantly push to switch to online version, which is far from great. convenient for business owners- yes, it is a nightmare to work in, not user friendly at all, but that goes to any online accounting platforms like NetSuite or Sage. I never really had any issues with Intuit, until this year.
Intuit posted a QB desktop update earlier this year and it disconnected merchant services so I could not provide a payment link to my clients, payments have not processed, etc. 15+ hours on calls with Intuit merchant support did nothing and several months went by trying to resolve with Intuit. My great IT resolved it afterwards on his own, however, somehow, my desktop merchant services subscription miraculously became QBO and all of a sudden, after 14 years, my account had to be verified and requested documents uploaded.
I tried to use the link they sent- no go, called customer support- no help. Since I do not use QBO, the link would not work, and they have no other solution but repeatedly suggest switching to QBO. More time lost- no resolution. Finally, Intuit put all funds from customers' payments on hold. Another several hours on call, their link does not work since I am not QBO and so on and so forth- it is so frustrating.... Intuit does not work with you; they want to put you out of business.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They take, and take and keep taking without any care of you or basically. They will keep taking til you cancel their horrible service and move on. I don’t bad things upon anyone but if you were on fire and work for Quickbooks ain’t nobody gonna help thieves, and all around pieces of human garbage like quickbooks. No wonder there is no middle class or anything like that. Heartless, soulless pieces of garbage will always welcome bad karma for big profits. Straight scumbags

I'm a small business owner using QuickBooks Online for a little over 1 year. I would have suggested the use of this program till.... Everything going completely south July/31/2026. While getting into my mobile app to sign in, I quickly realized the mobile number and email, to send verifications to, has been changed! I used my biometrics to login and check that everything was alright with my account. After confirming everything appeared good. I called support immediately! Support helped me quickly, to start an investigation. Before we are done with our call, the fraud team had caught on to this issue as well. This all doesn't sound bad to this very moment, I understand, but this is where the story turns.
I am told that they are locking my account for the next to 5-7 business while they review everything. I received no follow ups from QuickBooks. I called 8/7/2026 after multiple transfers through "departments" and over 1 hour 34 minutes I was informed it was still under investigations. I demanded more information! Someone was able to add a bank account to my system and was trying to process $9000.00 payment from a person that wasn't one of my clients, was actively applying for a credit card through QuickBooks, and applying for a $20,000.00 loan! None of this had been approved or processed! Frustrated, I asked to be escalated to move things along and regain access to my account. I was then, after close to 2 hours+, send an email asking to scan a government issued I.D. to prove that I am who I say I am. FINE WHATEVER!
I have multiple invoices to send, payments received, estimates to send, inventory to order, blah blah blah. I'm a week behind! After doing this I'm informed that it will be an addition 24-48 hours before I can gain access. 1 and half weeks later, today 8/13/2026, I call and was told I had misinformed and it would take 5-7 more business days (this is going on half a month locked completely out of my account). I have currently been talking to and doing multiple transfers through QuickBooks support groups, my phone's current count time is running 3 hrs 9 min 45 sec, I've had to resubmit the photo I.D. I am writing this while still on hold with them!
I have spent a lot of time, money, and energy learning how to use this, well founded program, to be this disappointed in its support system. Let us not forget all the money they receive from subscriptions, transaction fees, training programs, one on ones, and more from just me alone! HIRE MORE QUALIFIED HELP! BEEF UP SECURITY! ANYTHING! If my account isn't resolved today, I will be seeking legal counsel and looking into other programs. This isn't acceptable by any means.

⭐ 1-Star is 1 too many. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with. QuickBooks/Intuit has created an endless cycle of transfers, wrong departments, conflicting information, and absolutely no resolution. My account was locked and flagged for suspected fraudulent activity, which prevented me from logging in. Yet I was told that fraud payments could still be processed through the account. When I asked how I was supposed to stop or manage those payments, I was told to log into my account—which I literally could not do because Intuit had locked me out of it.
I uploaded all of the requested verification documents to regain access. Then I received an email saying that I never uploaded the documents. When I tried using the link they provided to upload them again, the link said it had expired because the documents had already been uploaded. So apparently their own system can’t even determine whether the documents were received.
I called customer service again and was given a specific phone number that I was told would resolve the account-access issue. I called that number only to be told, “We don’t handle that,” and was transferred right back to the same general call center. Transfer after transfer. Wrong department after wrong department. “I can’t help you.” “Call this number.” “That department doesn’t handle this.” Then you end up exactly where you started…on hold.
For a company handling something as important as business banking and payment processing, this level of disorganization is unacceptable. Locking a customer out of their account while payments may still process—and then providing no clear way to regain access or stop those transactions—is beyond frustrating. QuickBooks/Intuit desperately needs to improve its customer support, internal communication, and account-security procedures. Customers should not have to spend hours being transferred in circles just to regain control of their own account. 6hr+ over two days! And I’m still on hold waiting as I write!!

We have been a QuickBooks customer for nearly 2 decades with our small business. With no appreciable change in our need from their software, we have seen our cost with this company go from around $400 every 4 years for a desktop edition of quickbooks, to (with this most recent price increase) about $6700 every 4 years. SO $100 per year to $1600 per year. This is vile entity that will absolutely, unflinchingly take advantage of your hostage situation.

Quickbooks online is a great tool for my company, but... We are being nickel and dimed for capabilities QBO already has such as custom fields, credit card charges (charge existing card 3.5% vs. request card info 1.99% fee), and all other features. Great tool but when you start charging for this and that which is already part of the software which is imperfect and has bugs that the consumer experiences lost time lost money, the least you can do is offer full options and let the software itself shine and sell itself for more customers... But will QBO listen to customer, will they respond? Lots of surveys to customers in order for quickbooks to minimize cost, maximize profit, all at the expense of its users.

Honestly, I'm surprised they're still in business. I have clients who use Quickbooks to pay their contractors, so I set up an account with my direct deposit info, and initially the account kept getting closed. After several long conversations with them, they got the account open, but when a customer sent an email trying to connect to my account so they could pay me, the system kept just erroring out. Talked to them on the phone and, after hours of conversation with multiple people who clearly couldn't identify the problem, the rep said "it's best if you just give the client your direct deposit information directly." Ok, so what the hell is the point of this product? Absolutely insane that they take people's money and yet can't manage to get people paid.

I have been with Quickbooks since 1995 - Desktop Version worked fine except for a few years ago I had about 5 invoices that were paid and would show up as not paid and send out invoice due notices. QB told me that there was something wrong with my file and they would fix it. I made the mistake of letting them access my computer and was watching what the agent was doing. I saw that he was going to delete my account - he said, "Don't worry. You paid for back-ups and I have a copy here." He then proceeded to delete my account and then reinstalled the back-up copy and what happened? My back-up was corrupt and he asked when was the last time I made a back-up - I said I paid for daily back-ups - Lucky I had a back-up I did at the end of the year for my accountant. But it is now August, so I had to take all of my paper copies and input 8 months of invoices and expenses that took me three months to enter-
To make matters worse they didn't give me a discount on the subscription. The next year they said they were discontinuing QB Desktop and I needed to go to QB Online - So I switch and that is where the major problems occurred. - 1) If someone owes you money past a couple of years it won't find it in the report... I had over $86,000 in unpaid invoices that don't show up in the online version. If you use the APP Don't! If you make an invoice and someone comes up later to pay you do a search and it can't find it. You can search but only invoices show up for 2025 - I change search for today, last week, this month, this quarter and it still shows invoices for 2025...
It's been like this for a year because I complained in Aug 2025. So after a year they know it doesn't work they said log into QB Online through your browser. Well trying to type on the browser on your cell phone doesn't work. The Final Straw was they said I would be getting the renewal for 242.50 but they charged me $970 - And it will take 5 to 7 days to refund me and I need to pay for one month because I cancelled on the 31 July 26. Another scam - they said I can use QB for the month...

If I could leave a negative star I would. This new online version is a pile of s***! I have been using QuickBooks for over 25 years. I will be migrating to Peachtree or some other program. This is a load of crap and the conversion from desktop to online changed the look of the estimates and invoice. You have to relearn the whole program all over again. If you are considering QuickBooks STOP! I am trying to figure out the best way to migrate to another program. The online version is so much slower and not as responsive. I feel like I am waiting on it all the time. Not a time saver for sure!

Now, it’s 2026, my 2025 QuickBooks are a mess, I still needed my 2025 taxes done. I tried to clean up myself but needed bookkeeping help so I purchased QB One Time Cleanup for $1000.00.
Going in the bookkeeper was on it, American, responsive, immediately contacted me, we had a telephone conversation, emails back and forth, task list were provided to upload all loans, bank statements, etc. in the system, several other bookkeepers joined and got the work done. All this was done through the Accounting/Expert tab in QB. My cleanup was done in about 3-4 wks. I received a QB Live Expert Cleanup Year-end Reports packet. Through the Work Progress list, I was given the recommended option to make an appointment by phone to go over the report, so I did. The report looked organized, categorized correctly, etc. Made the appointment with a bookkeeper, she gave me the impression that the appointment was not necessary since I thought the report looked good, I informed her the appointment was recommended in my task list.
She and I went over the report and had a couple questions regarding the report, so she put me on hold and contacted the bookkeeping team, they advised her everything entered is correct, we concluded the meeting. So, I got to work on my taxes. My husband looked at the report and said there is no way we made this much income, so I dug in closer in my reports and clicked on each entry. Payments from customers were added to income twice, although invoices were linked to the payments. Payments were also added to the Cash Income Category but were clearly linked to check payments that corresponded to invoices. Building materials and job supplies were categorized as income not in expenses which added to our Gross Profit. Contractors’ expenses were added; I clicked on it and found my personal hair stylist that I paid for by Zelle through my personal account was added as business contractor expense.
Credit card processing fees were added as a negative in my expense account. Workers Comp insurance was deleted from my expense account. Suppliers’ bill payments that were made by check were added to the Expense Cash bill payment category. All the business credit card statements were deleted from the report, and several other flaws. Frustrated, I tried to go into the Accounting/Expert section on my QB accounts to contact the bookkeepers as previously done, the function was completely taken out of the section, there was no way to reach any of them, I was Ghosted, so I made an Expert Cleanup consultation to reach out to someone. The appointment was made and a rep called me. I advised him I already had the so-called cleanup done and I needed to speak to someone to go over the mistakes. He said he could not help me, and I needed to call 1800-446-8848 customer service.
I called the number and spoke to Cheyenne who advised that she would send a message to the Bookkeeping, and I should receive a call back within 24-48 hrs. I did not receive a call back, a week went by, I started fixing the errors myself, which has infuriated me since I paid them to do this. On July 23rd, a week later, I received voicemail message and email from Donna, Intuit Escalations Expert who gave me instructions to set up an appointment and Navigate: Go to All apps, then Accounting, and select Live Experts (you may also see this as "Live Bookkeeping" or "My Experts"). That does not work because I have been deleted from this function.
I sent her a reply to the email she sent me and informed her so. Donna called the following day, Friday, them24th. We went over the issues I had with my cleanup. She advised that there is a QuickBooks Cleanup Accuracy Guarantee but since I am no longer in the Expert Cleanup System that I would have to pay the $1000.00 fee to enable her to review my records and access my account remotely. She assured me she would immediately refund me the money back. I asked if there is a guarantee then why isn’t there a direct line to communicate? Donna also stated that since I started working on bookkeeping myself, it may have voided the accuracy guarantee. We made a telephone appointment for Monday, July 27, 2026, at 9:30am. No email, no call from Donna on Monday. I emailed her, no response.

I had to break the customer service Rep - I told him stop repeating what you're saying to me and to go get it done now, I told him hang up the phone and go get somebody to do this now. I have used Intuit QuickBooks since 2006. The force of payroll tax before it's due is ridiculous! In these times of economic hardships, it definitely shows a lack of care for the customers. The reasons I signed up are no longer present. What is the profit from interest earned and who earns it? In this economy, business owners have enough on our plates without having to worry about a service that is supposed provide assistance but provides oppression instead. You title the withdrawal as Quickbooks tax withdrawal, not UST/IRS withdrawal. Why is that?

Meanwhile QuickBooks gets to collect interest on my money and I no longer get to! Is this even legal??? QuickBooks withdrawal funds from my account today when these taxes are not even due until February 2027!!??
I spent 3 hours on the phone today getting my money back in 7 to 10 days! I DO NOT recommend QuickBooks. On July 3rd (our first payroll date after July 1) they drafted federal and state tax payments due on July 8th, accrued state unemployment tax payments due on November 2 and federal unemployment tax payments due in Feb 2027. They are holding our funds and gaining interest on them and we are not. This must be illegal and they need to give us the option of making our own tax payments or drafting them 2 days prior to the due date. We will be searching for new payroll software immediately and will report this to every regulatory agency we can find. QuickBooks needs to change this to stop taking money and control away from the business owners who use their product. We will be looking for other options because this is absolutely not ok. Every now and then something will upgrade, maybe a bug, but it will be working again correctly within a week or so. Now, all of a sudden I have several issues with receipts. Some that I have saved from email as a PDF that never had an issue before, are now not uploading under receipts. Others that I just took pictures of and uploaded from my phone, show up for me to match.
When I go the list to match, I can hover over the receipt and see it (can't blow it up from there), but if I click on the line item to see the receipt, it's not showing up on the left. I then click on the attachment, and it shows a black screen with errors. I got on CHAT with QB, and was informed that my service has now changed, and if I need technical support, I need to upgrade my plan. First off, this is not technical support, it's a bug in their system. Second off, I believe this was purposefully done on QB end to force subscribers into paying a higher price to get back the services we used to have, such as, technical support.

After 20 years with QB Desktop for my small business I attempted to cancel my subscription which had auto renewed approx. 2 weeks earlier and obtain the 60-day money back guarantee for the following reasons, the annual subscription cost had ballooned to $1,220.81! I followed the online instructions to cancel my subscription; however, in order to receive the refund I had to either call customer support or use the online chat. I attempted to use the online chat, which navigating to it for cancellation was a confusing process, to say the least. After providing my credentials for the 5 time, the chat tried to sell me a lower subscription services to maintain access to my records. I declined, stating that QB policy which is stated on their website clearly states that I would have access to the data for 1 year after cancellation.
However, the rep informed me that access after cancellation was problematic and that customers were having issues in accessing their data. After 30 minutes, the rep said he would have to transfer me to another department to complete the cancellation, which I agreed to. After 40 minutes after the rep processed the transfer of the chat I didn't receive any further chat responses and eventually I received the Chat had ended! I then called customer support and went through the various prompts and finally kept repeating "Customer Service Rep." Finally after about 5 minutes I was transferred to a rep and I went through account verification all over again. The rep informed my the phone number I had provided is not the one they had on file for the account. I informed the rep that I was logged into my Intuit account and the phone number listed was the phone number I provided.
After about 20 minutes on with the rep they informed me my subscription was cancelled and I would receive a full refund credited back to original form of payment in 7 to 10 business days. Also, I had to ask for a case or reference number from the rep, otherwise they were ending the call without providing the number. The annual fee increases every year were way out of proportion for basically the same service. Their updates were a joke and the basics functionality or upgrades were minimal at best. This is an example of corporate greed to the fullest extent. Initially I was excited about converting to QB's online from desktop (I've had three companies on desktop for over 20 years), what a huge mistake. I will be cancelling my online subscriptions as they have zero support, when you get someone on the line they do not know what they are doing, they state that they'll put you on hold for 3-4 minutes to do research and come back with no help. My sales guys has not returned a single email, even after he responded to my email where I listed all the issues I had and he said that my frustration is completely justified and he would escalate to a senior onboarding management team member. I had used online QB's in the past and had no issues, but it is completely different now.
I 100% do not recommend that you use their payroll platform, the migration didn't transfer everything over and even a payroll specialist cannot figure out what's going on. In the meantime I'm not able to process payroll because I can't complete the payroll set-up. The payroll titles do not transfers over exactly as they were in desktop so things don't match up. I also cannot set up a user access to give someone only time tracking and access to input bills, they said it's not possible...even for a custom access.
I could go on and on about all the frustrations, but I've already spent over 40 hours on trying to fix things on my own and the other words I would say are not permittable per the guidelines, do not under any circumstances use QB's payroll!! One last thing, I figured since my sales guy wasn't calling back I would call their sales department and ask for a supervisor, they told me that they can't transfer me to a supervisor but can leave a message for my sales rep...that does me no good, as he hasn't returned a single email since over a week and a half ago.

I’ve sold my businesses and will only be able to access as Read Only for one year. Government requires a 7-year period for audits. I do not want to pay $1800 a year to keep files. The program and data are on my computer. I own it. Why do I have to keep paying? Does not seem right.

I was forced to switch from desktop (which I have used since 1995) to online and the product is horrible. Everything takes twice as long, and the automatic tax withholding is problematic. Intuit has the worst support. I have been on several phone calls, and I am currently on the phone for over an hour, and they refuse to fix my issue. Do not purchase. The product is way overpriced for all of the hassle. Very dissatisfied customer.

OBJECTION to Mandatory Auto File & Pay Requirement – QB ONLINE. I am writing to formally object to the recent change requiring businesses to enroll in automatic tax filing and payment through QuickBooks. This decision is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! As a business owner, the responsibility and authority to determine how and when taxes are filed and paid should rest entirely with me—not be dictated by your platform. THIS IS MESSING WITH THE CASH FLOW OF MY SMALL BUSINESS!!!!

I have been shorted bank deposits and now I am being charged for account support for inquiring about withheld deposits to my bank account. 10/10 do not recommend.

Horrible company. Locked me out of my QuickBooks 2021 desktop and basically offered me a very expensive online option or I was out of luck.

Beware. While I am satisfied with the QuickBooks product so far, I am very unhappy with the bank that poses as a QuickBooks bank called Greendot Bank. When I opened my QuickBooks account, I was offered a checking account with a debit card to charge my Business and integrate with my account. I thought that Intuit was reputable, so I opened the account. When $2,070 was stolen from my account, I learned that they use a bank call Greendot.
Greendot allowed fraudsters to access my personal information, including Name, Address, Phone Number, last 4 digits of my Social Security Number, knowledge that I had contacted their help desk, the amount of the Transaction that I called about, who I paid, and the amount of the transaction. I promptly reported that the money was missing, but they denied repayment of the claim. They even earned a $31.05 from the fraudulent transaction as an "Instant Transfer Fee". If they are making money from fraudsters, there is no incentive for them to secure my information. The account is now closed, but I lost my money. Be very wary of opening an account through QuickBooks.

Intuit has really caused me a lot of stress. They opened an account and were suppose to close it but for over a year they are unable to close this fraudulent account. They charge our bank account every month. Every month I am spending 1.50 hrs or more trying to get this account closed and get our money back. Really has gone on way too long. How many people get charged and never notice. I am so tired of dealing with this.

We had a data breach from QuickBooks. They pulled 2k a day from our business account, we had to cancel bank account due to their fraud and now they want to charge us stop payment fees too on 4 dollars due to their breach.

I have used QuickBooks for over 20 years. When it works it is great. Unfortunately, if you have a problem, it is the worst. Even simple problems can take 4 or more hours of inexperienced agents on a support phone call. The Support is horrible at best! One time I spent over 40 hours getting a problem resolved. Every time I called about a problem, the agent says "can I put you on hold for 3-5 minutes while I check my resources". This means they don't know what to do. I have to keep calling back until I get lucky and actually get someone that knows what they are doing. Today I was on the phone for over 4 hours to support only to be told to send them a message through the "help>send feedback>bug report. I have sent messages this way before and have never had a response. I would suggest staying away from QuickBooks.
