Adrian of Madison, AL April 27, 2009

I went in for an OIL CHANGE on a 1995 Lincoln Continental that was previously owned by a mechanic and sold to me just last December. The vehicle was in top notch working condition (I had it inspected just after purchase with ntb) and the only reason I took it in was for a simple oil change.

They take almost two hours to do this at Sears, and right out of the lot my car is jerking unexpectedly, idling high and dieing at intersections. It obviously did not come in like that as I never would have made it to the highway in the first place.

Now Sears is trying to tell me that they'll "gladly take a look at it but it is a seperate incident and not covered under warranty."

If I go to a Doctor for a headache and he saws off my foot without my consent, you bet your sweet paycheck I'll sue for malpractice. Mechanics shouldn't be any different.

On March 7th I brought my SUV Ford Explorer to Sears Automotive because of a reving in my engine and a poping sound I was hearing from under the vehicle. I spoke with one of their machanics he explained that they had a similar scenario with a Ford Explorer and that the reving was caused by a problem with a sensory valve. In addition the machince explained that the poping sound was due to a small hole in the muffler. They recommended a new valve and new muffler - exhaust system - to correct the problem. Total cost was 806.

When I picked up my truck, after Sears did the work, and drove it home I had the same problems as before. Engine still reving and poping sound underneath. I took it back the following day and had the same mechanic check again. This time after review he told me it was a transmission problem so I'd have to take the truck to a transmissions shop.

Sears Automotive charged me 800 for service that did not fix my problem and on top of that I'm being charged 1800 for a transmission job at another shop. I feel like Sears took advantage of me and had me pay for items that I thought were going to fix my problem. Now they won't reimburse because they say I needed these things done to my truck anyway. But the problem is I only agreed to this fixes because of the reving and popping problem I was having. I would have not gotten any of the work done if I knew I needed a new transmission. I feel that Sears should reimburse me at least partial.

Went to Sears Auto ctr to buy a battery. The battery was 104.00 which was okay by me. However the installation was first 12.99 then 29.99 because it was a difficult job. I told them ther was two bolts and then a standard remove and replace. I lrft there and went to a nearbye K-Mart and found the battery for 114.. I asked them if they match price and they told me only on sale mdse. Not everyday items. I still don't have the battery that I need.

The main drive belt to the snow thrower flys off akll the time. I have replaced the belt with new belts 3 times and still flys off. I need a picture of the way the belts are routed, but our Local Sears will come out and fix at 90/hr and parts. Why can I not just get a guide for the belts and not have to take it to the store, where they never have anythign isn stock ans will take 2-6 days at 50 ++ shipping fees. What ever happened if you are not satisfied we will fix or replace the item. Make good on your PROMISE or at lease email the belt routeing on the snow thrower. ALl of this will make or break my decesion if I purcahse form Seers this summere or go else where.

I' am a 90% Service Connected Disabled Veteran that depends on the snow thrower to clean my drive way and mopw lawn and have to have a family member fix the blower or tractor as I know how bu not physicaly able to do the repairs. Lots of Veterans out there have asked about how I like my Snow throwere this year, and tell the the truth that Sears has not stood behind the product they sell and you have to orfer parts all the time which is expensive in cost and shipping and that the store does not even keep a belt in stock, or a mannul to fis the snow thrower

I always been o.k. with Sears up to today that is.I took my van in for its yearly inspection and let them know when I brought it in the battery needed replaced. They replaced the battery before doing the emission test and when they tried testing it only to call me to tell the test failed because the computer was reset when the battery was replaced and that I would have drive the van until the computer would kick back in but they no clue how far we would have to drive it.What a pain.

So we drive from Pa. to Maryland and back and brought it back only to have them use our free retry to tell us it still not ready. I don't understand why if they knew when you disconnect the battery it messes up the computer why didn't they just call us and tell us and don't do the test until we had driven the van some. Now we just have to keep driving around until the computer is ready again. It is a pain in the butt and I am not happy.

driving around wasting gas is pain.We are taking it some where else to get this problem taken care of.
