2002 Nissan xterra with under 18,000 miles had the front disc brakes warp for overheating. This vehichle does not do a lot of stop and go driving and has never pulled a trailer. This vehichle seldom carries full passenger or cargo loads. Another customer was at the service department with the exact same problem. This may be a wide spread issues!
Dealer is machining the front disc brakes to eliminate the warp prior to major disk failure. This is at customer cost and does not address the root cause of the over heating! The defect, original design or brake material choice from Nissan factory, may lead to catastrophic field failure for families pulling trailers on trips!
