Cindy of Old Bridge NJ (03/06/09) I drove my 2002 Buick Rendevous in for an oil change. During this procedure the recommended I change the fuel filter. I told them no. When the oil change was completed the car would not start. The then said they thought I need a new fuel filter and said they were going to replace mine to see if that was the problem. The car still wouldn't start. I had to call my car dealer to have the car towed to their shop and upon their inspection the discovered that the o-ring as missing and was the reason the car would not start. I returned to Jiffy Lube and was told that they did not touch my fuel filter.
My car dealer mechanic has no idea how an oil change could cause the O-Ring to fall out of the fuel filter unless removed. The car drove perfectly before Jiffy Lube changed the oil (they drove it into the bay so the car was in perfect working order) and after the car dealer fixed the fuel filter.
I was charged by my car dealer since Jiffy Lube's negligence was not covered by my warrant. I was billed 100.51. Chris of Holywood, SC March 6, 2009
Chris of Holywood SC (03/06/09) I went in for a low engine coolant light that was on in my car and also to have the oil changed. They told me my coolant level was fine. I also had a whining noise in the engine that they said was the serpetine belt. I had the serpitine belt replaced and an oil change. On the way home, the coolant light came on again for low coolant and the whining noise was still there. I checked the coolant in the overflow tank and it was below the refill line. The mechanic had stated it was checked and OK.
I recently went to the Chrysler dealer to have work done and he stated that the serptine belt was the wront type and could cause strain on the pulleys. I contacted Jiffy Lube, but no action was taken to remedy the problem but an I apologize from the manager. This apology was before I found out the wrong belt had been put on.
As a result of this, I had to pay 135.97 for work that was not performed and work that was done unrelated to the problem that proved to be of no help. I am simply requesting a refund of my money. Kimberly of Redlands, CA March 5, 2009
Kimberly of Redlands CA (03/05/09) I went in today for an oil change on my 2002 Acura MDX and told them I only wanted an oil change as my husband has a fleet mechanic that can do the other needed maintenance. Halfway through the oil change an employee came in and showed me an air filter with large clumps of dirt on it and told me I needed to have it changed. I finally consented. MY mistake in not asking the price. It was the CABIN air filter for 69.99!
I feel like I was pressured into something I didn't need for an outrageous price. When I questioned the guy, he just shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the sign which said, Cabin oil filter START at 39.99 I feel like all they wanted was to sell me something I didn't need. I will NOT be returning to a Jiffy Lube in the future.

M of Temecula CA (02/24/09) feb 24 1:10 came in to for an 5 points oil change at 34.99 but paid 95.00 at the end. I was told my filters, cabin and air filters were filthy that i need need to change them. I said, i no i will ask my husband first. He says he will give a discount and that if I buy the 60 filter he will give me the other one free. I have no knowledge of cars and i ask him is this how much air filter cost? its pretty pricey. He says, yes, everywhere else would cost me more and I am actually getting a good deal.
Trusting him that I am getting a good deal I say go ahead. A few minutes later, I was approached by a cashier lady who told me that she can cash me out now if I was ready. Thinking that this was how it was done. I went and paid for the total bill. I asked the cashier again, if this is what filters really cost. It seems pretty high. She just shrugs her shoulder. I was asked to sign a customer rating number. I felt I was put on the spot and since all of them were friendly I gave them a good rating. I go outside back to my van, and the gentleman who sold me that filter comes up to me and says that he did not have the cabin filter in stock and that it was ok, just come back tomorrow.
THis after I paid an almost 100 srvc! I asked if they had performed that 5 points services listed on the check list and they claimed they did. But I can't help shake the feeling that I have been swindled. I should have stuck with just the oil change. But they were very convincing that i needed it done and that he was giving me one of the best deals around!
Well i have 3 kids to feed! I also feel I was mislead! I am out about 70 dollars. Arnold of Anaheim, CA February 3, 2009
Arnold of Anaheim CA (02/03/09) My wife went in for an oil change. He tried to get her to do an engine flush at 69.99. He tried to get her to change the air filter. Wanted to clean the engine. Misrepresented an oil upgrade by selling her a synthetic oil at a 40 dollar upcharge. The advertised price is 18.99 with a coupon. We had no coupon so 36.99. However75.99+25.00+69.99 is what he attemted to scare her with. Simply because she is a woman. Overcharge of 40.00 plus an attempt to intimidate for an additional almost 100 dollars for a simple oil change process. Tom of Beverly Hills, CA January 21, 2009
