Find the Best Deal and Apply! - Adv. chris of hernando, MS May 14, 2009 My car died on me on my way to work at a redlight and after work I towed my car to the closest place which was Firestone. Well after waiting 2 days they call and say my timing belt had slipped and that they fixed it but it had damaged my head on my motor. the next night we went to pick it up and they werent finished and they told us to wait that they will be done with it, that it was going to leave that night. after getting evrything back together they couldnt get it cranked up and it sorta backfired when they tried to crank it which anyone with any experiance knows that sound comes from the timing being off. so they had the timing off and had my car running earlier in the day. if they had it running with the timing off I SEE HOW MY HEAD WAS DAMAGED because they ran it with the timing off by 2 notches. they said it was no fault of theirs and that they would have it ready the next day. the total was 2400 dollars and now its back up there from the rpms dropping real low and jumping up and down but they just called now saying they cant duplicate what it was doing so i can just come pick it up. on top of that my crankshaft pulley is shaking back and forth and i mentione dthat to the guy (allen) when i dropped it off 2 days ago. yeah it took 2 days for them to just look at my car and say they couldnt duplicate the rpms going up and down in which i told them it only happens once it gets warmed up. I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE MY CAR TO ANY FIRESTONE EVER AGAIN AND I ADVISE EVREYONE READING THIS TO DO THE SAME unless you wany shady service and unexperianced to work on your car/truck bethany of Havre de Grace, MD May 13, 2009 In NOvember of 2007 I took in my 2002 Ford Escape for a oil change. Firestone called me with a list of other repairs that needed done. It was totalling around 1500. I authorized the repairs and had arrangements to pick my car up the next morning. A little later Cameron called me and asked when did my car start over heating. My car had never over heated let alone had any problems at all before I took it in there. Then he told me that they were moving my car from one bay to another and it blew a head gasket. He said that they do not do those kind of repairs there but I should be fine to drive it until I can get it somewhere. After getting off the phone with him I spoke to some co-workers about it. I was informed that you cannot drive a car with a blown head gasket and I should not pick the car up because the second it was off thier property they would claim no responsability for the damage to the car. I called Cameron and told him that I was not picking the car up and he needed to make arrangements to have it fixed. After a long time of dealing with him and his rude and arrogant attitude, he then informed me that my car needed a new engine entirely. He refused to give me the corporate office phone number. I got the number off of the internet and filed a complaint. They were completely unwilling to work with me to repair the damage they caused. In the end they ended up paying for the labor and i had to pay for the engine and some other parts. It ended up costing me over 3,000. Now, a year and a half later, my transmission went up. The shop rebuilding my transmission informed me that it is obvious that firestone did a [bad] job and did not even do some things as trivial as re-installing bolts on the exhaust manifold. As well as countless other items. When I get my car back on Friday he is going to show me everything they did wrong. I am going to ask him to give e a list of items so that I can send into the person handling my complaint with the BBB. They never even responded to the BBB about my complaint in the first place. I also have a call into my attorney to find out if I can recoup my 3000. My car has never run the same since then and I had to take it to a ford dealer and back to firestone 3 times after they replaced the engine to fix and oil leak and brake fluid leak. My break fluid is still leaking, they could not find a leak. If they cannot find one and they are supposed to be experts, then why do I have to add break fluid every 2 or 3 days? I will never take my car there again and I tell everyone my story so this does not happen to them. I am a single mother who commutes a hour drive to and from work daily. When I got the engine replaced I borrowed money from my parents. I have been paying them 100 a month since then. I need every penny i make and saved to pay cash for a car so I would not have a car payment. So now i basically have a car payment anyway. carol of wilmington, NC May 12, 2009 this is the 4th or 5th time Ive had tires rotated and oil changed. My complant is the oil is always over filled, I have to return and get it corrected, toyota calls for 5w20 oil, I have stated so upon arrival for the oil change and still recived 10w30 which is not correct. On one tire rotation and oil change one of my wheel covers was broken, they didnt say anything about it getting broke by them, I saw it was not on the car when I started to leave, they did replace it. I was informed today 5/12/09 that I should go some where else if they didnt get it right today and again today my car was filled with 10w30. I have had to return every service and wasted 5 or 6 hours total to get things right. Tony of Plano, TX May 9, 2009 I needed an oil change for my car, so I went to a Firestone on Coit Rd, near Legacy Dr. It was a very bright sunny day. I looked through a glass window to the garage. I noticed several cars had the lights turned on (in the bright garage). Waited for a while, a salesperson showed me a small test strip showing the battery is drained/low... And that I need to have a new battery. I responsed: C'mon, I just replaced that battery 3 months ago at Sears". He showed me that test strip again and said: "The test showed your battery is drained... This is an actual test result".
I drove my car immediately to Sears (where I had the battery replaced before). Sears technician tested the battery and told me the battery is in good working condition, nothing wrong with it.
Sonja of Agawam, MA May 7, 2009 I went into firestone to get an oil change. When I was cashing out the guy told me I need new tires in the front. I thought that was crazy because just bought the card less than a year ago with new tires and barely put 3000 miles on it. When I got to the car, I noticed that the worn out tires on the car were in fact not my tires at all. I called the manager Jeremy and he hung up on me. KEIRA of WEST PALM BEACH, FL April 29, 2009 My brake light on my car stayed on even if I parked the car and turned the car completely off. No matter what I did the brake lights remained to stay on. So I decided to take my car to Firestone. Sam, the service advisor, told me that I have to get my brake switch replaced and that I will be charged 20 for inspection, 45 for labor, and 50 for brake switch. Sam also informed me that it would only take 20 minutes. 40 minutes went by and I went to the actual technician to ask him what was taking so long. He told me that I was only missing a rubber piece to my brakes and I did not need to be charged because this issue was very small and can be taken care of really quick. So I asked the tech why did Sam tell me I needed to replace my brake switch. The tech replied, "I do not know." I went back inside the lobby to ask Sam, the service advisor, why I was being charged for a part that I do not need. After Sam got off the phone from ordering my part which was an hour later from when I first got there, Sam told me that I didn't make any sense and that I should replace it. At that very moment, I left and went to another place. The new place I went to did not charge me anything because it was just a rubber piece missing. They told me that my brake switch was fine. Now my brake lights work. I am very upset with Firestone. Sam still charged me 20 dollars for bad service and false diagnosis. I want my money back. FAYE of MONTGOMERY, AL April 24, 2009 I arrived at this location at 4:44 Dale checked in my car and told me it would be about an hour wait, I agreed to stay and wait. At 5:30 p.m. I saw a guy go out to my truck and go back into the garage so at 6:00p.m. I decided to go and ask when would they be getting to my truck, Willie told me that no one could start my car, so I asked him why didn't someone come in and ask me why it wouldn't start (you have to push the blinker down)they just looked. I went to the guy in the office at 6:35 and asked him to see what the hold up was he did nothing but continued on the computer. Finally at 6:50 they pulled my truck in and completed the job at 7:40. The customer service at this location is terrible, the lobby was full of people coming in to pick up their cars, all the guys were out working but one manager (I guess) was sitting in the office on the internet ignoring all of the traffic. The entire time I was there one of the employees was constantly on his cell phone trying to work, one customer had to ask him to get off the phone so she could explain to him what her car was doing. I have been a customer of Firestone for sometime (In Houston, Texas) and never had to wait this long behind nonsense. After all of this the manager never came out and apologized or offer me a discount or nothing. This is rediculous.
