OK, maybe it's not the world's most exciting car but the Buick is a stylish, safe, reliable family car, right?

Buick
Intake manifold
Peeling paint
Window motors
Variious vexations

Perhaps, but those we hear from are upset about such shortcomings as engine problems, peeling paint, faulty window motors and all kinds of other shortcomings you'd never expect to find.

Buick Window Motor Failure: (Known Buick defect) My Buick LeSabre Limited had a window motor failure at 60 mph this weekend which caused a dangerous driving correction while in heavy traffic. The fact that kept us from a serious or fatal accident was the adept driving of my daughter.

Today, the repairs were estimated by Grayson Motors to be between 500.-600.00 for a complete repair or 105.00 just to jerry rig a temporary repair fix.

As an 86 year old on a fixed income the motor replacement repair option was not feasible so I opted for the cheaper option. In reviewing my invoice I note that the part used for the temporary repair cost less than 2.00 and the balance was in labor cost.

My issue is that this is a known problem that Buick has not recalled or notified its car owners of the potential danger of this predictable failure. We nearly rolled the car when the window dropped inside the car door and feel that Buick should replace the window motor and recognize their engineering defect. It took less than 30 seconds to find data on-line recording the same problem with other Buick owners.

My daughter reports that Grayson Motors was polite and prompt and I do not fault them in anyway.

My car is a LE SABRE Limited with 45,232 miles on it. The window failure was in the rear left window.

I own a Buick Century that for the second time needs the intake manifold replaced. It is my understanding that there is a defect in the design. I feel it is only right that General Motors pay for this. I do not make the kind of money it is going to take to repair my car. I have always supported anyone who wanted to buy or who owns a Buick. I will not be doing that anymore.

All 4 power windows in my 30K Buick LeSabre went out, cable separation on the window regulator. Each part has a 400 price tag. This was a known problem, a TSB was in effect, before I purchased the car. I think GM is STILL putting the inferior part in vehicles. And GM wonders why they are in trouble? I will NEVER purchase any GM product again!

There should be a class action lawsuit against GM for this practice. Taking the car to the shop and paying for parts/labor that should have been fixed before the car was allowed to be sold.

Over the past 2 years I have had to replace all 4 window regulators on my 2000 Buick Regal. The cost was just under 2000 total.

I am a senior citizen and really could not afford this expense. I received absolutely no help from Buick's customer service. Not even an I'm sorry.

2003 Rendezvous, 3.4 L, rocker arm bolt pulled out of head. Rocer arm laying on side in top of head. Buick Assistance stated take head to dealer who took pictures. Buick stated no assistance due to mileage(126,000). Arranged for used heads, when removed, they had the exact same problem, same engine, Chevy same year. Buick states not their problem, dealer states because we over heated the engine, that has never happened in the life of the vehicle. Second GM engine 3.4 which has had head trouble. Will be my last GM vehicle if I can convince my wife.

Pulled engine, new heads, gaskets, intake gaskets, wires, plugs, fluids and the like Suspedt close to 800.00 in repairs and I have done the work.
