    I have booked car for 7 days from 7th Jul to14th Jul 2025. The service was totally shocking as no one was picking the phone and someone at the airport parking informed that the Advantage is out of business and some new buyer is now running it. Even the bus stops, call center numbers, etc. in online booking are old and advantage has not taken pain to revise it. Now coming to my specific issues, I have informed over the counter that usd 21 were charged extra as my booking with Expedia was for 84 usd and I was charged 105 usd in receipt. I was promised that the same will be released in 2 to 3 working days. However, till date I have not received any refund and even Advantage is not replying to my emails. No refund till date... 100% cheating.

    DON’T BE FOOLED! NEVER AGAIN! This was the worst experience I’ve had with a car rental. If I could rate NEGATIVE A MILLION STARS, I would! Despite all the challenges they throw at you, the people are SUPER rude! DON’T DO IT!

    Customer Service won't answer the phone. Goes straight to voice mail and no call back and no response to email. This has been going on for 72 hours. There is no local number to call and no email to the Orlando rental center.

    I had a very bad experience when renting my car from Advantage Rental in Orlando. The first issue was having to take a bus to the lot and the pickup location was not correct on our itinerary from the travel agent I asked. Said he wasn't supposed to tell me and was lucky I asked him but felt bad for us and told me the area and to look for the Wally World bus which was so far down we couldn't see if from where we were. I had to walk my mother and out bags to the opposite side of the airport bus area, with bags it was a nightmare. The bus guy said they were full, and we would need to wait. I did walk past a few bigger parties waiting to get on the bus and pleaded with the bus driver that since we were only two people. He looked at the seats and there were people that moved together so we could get a seat on the bus.

    The person that was working with me in the rental office was asked by another agent if they could start working because the line was so long and she begrudgingly took us at the far window. She was sitting below us standing at the counter looking at had a computer screen in front of her and read through the coverages and costs. I let her know that I do not need the physical damage insurance because I have hired and non-owned on my auto policy, and I also had AAA for roadside assistance.

    I told her that I work in insurance and did not need their insurance coverage. She said she understood and continued the questions, next asked about tolls and if I wanted to purchase the EZ-PASS and I told her that I had one and she said it doesn't matter that we need to purchase there EZ-Pass and if I don't purchase the pass and I had used it I would be charged a penalty of $50 (don't remember exact amount) if I did not pay for it up front. I had no idea if I was going on roads that needed the pass and told her where we going and of course she was not sure, and I said so since I do not know the roads in Florida that were toll roads and she said that it should be purchased since they did not allow me a choice, and we were no longer at the airport!! There were other customers working with other agents saying the same thing and they were unhappy and arguing.

    After we discussed everything, she put a small screen up on the counter and pointed to the boxes that I needed to initial telling me it was what we discussed. I was not able to see what I was actually initialing but assuming it was what we talked about. It was NOT I received a bill that was $650 which was quoted at $150. We were only there for 4 days and did not need the ezpass but was charged $76 since they charge by the day and you have no choice in selecting the coverage. NEVER WILL RETURN.

    Poor experience- went to pick up car in Vegas after flight. Advantage never informed me that they relocated! By the time I get new address from handwritten sign in window, and get to new address, they're closed!!!

    Just a quick complaint about the facility in Las Vegas, the front desk service manager was so high she couldn't even stand up, thus was extremely unprofessional. She stated that she has rent our vehicle out, and offered to give us another DUV for $2000. We had already prepaid through our company. We left and went to National. They stated we were 2 hours too late when we were right on time. We call them Disadvantage by the time we went out the door!

    This company is a ripoff operation masquerading as a car rental business. I reserved a vehicle through Priceline for $102.90. When I arrived at Rent a Car Advantage’s Fort Lauderdale location, they hit me with a barrage of bogus fees and forced insurance, jacking the total up to $589.44. I clearly told them I had my own insurance and declined their coverage. They didn’t care—and never even looked at my policy. They just slapped the charges on anyway. Worse, I’m deaf and rely on written communication. When I asked the front desk agent to write down the info so I could understand what I was being charged for, he refused, saying it was “too long to write.” The level of disrespect and ableism I experienced was outrageous.

    When I followed up by email, I got a series of canned, robotic responses full of contradictions and nonsense. They claimed my insurance didn’t qualify—but never saw it. They claimed everything was disclosed—when none of it was communicated in an accessible way. Their “solution”? A 10% discount on a future scam. Give me a break. Oh—and their “airport location” is a lie. It’s off-site. The shuttle never came. I paid $30 for an Uber just to get there. If you’re reading this, let me save you the money, time, and fury: DO NOT RENT FROM ADVANTAGE. They are dishonest, shady, and predatory. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

    I was told that since I had West Bend insurance I got a discount for fuel. I declined their other service they wanted to charge me for. They then had me sign a pad, which he had me screw through it quickly and initial the box. I did not get any paperwork to view after I was finished. Gave me the key and out the door. After leaving I received a email showing the charge. I was charge more for the gas and he lied about the discount for the filling the tank. The tank amount would have been less also, than what they charge. They charged me for roadside assistance which I did not agree to. And I was told I had to take the 11.99 toll pass and if I didn't take it, the would charge me a service charge and had to stay off the highway. The car also stunk of Pot. Horrible company and they lie.

    The Las Vegas location is to be avoided at all costs. Firstly, I waited an hour just to pick-up my car. Secondly, the car offered was nothing like what is indicated on their website for that category (it felt like a bait and switch). Thirdly, the car that I upgraded to kept saying that features were not available and the car needed servicing. When I returned the car there was an issue and when I asked to talk to a supervisor I was denied. To say that I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with them is an understatement (and I'm not the only one).

    I booked my Advantage Car Rental with Priceline. Let’s begin with the Misleading Location Details as the starting point of the horror tale of the coercive conditions finessed by Advantage Car Rental at its Ft Lauderdale off site edifice. First, Priceline’s booking falsely stated Advantage was located at the FLL Car Rental Center. In reality, it took two separate shuttles to reach Advantage’s remote, off-airport facility. As an elderly woman traveling alone, once at this unknown off site location I truly felt scared and misled.

    So here I am Already feeling vulnerable then once it was my turn in line to step up to the Advantage counter, I was prepared to present my valid declaration of auto insurance from my well-known highly reputable auto insurance company knowing said coverage is widely accepted across the industry. Nevertheless, the Advantage rep refused to accept my auto insurance coverage stating it was “insufficient,” and insisted that I purchase Advantage's upsell auto insurance which just happened to bring my rental car price to three times the original agreed/booked Priceline rental price. The Advantage rep insisted the upsell fees were mandatory but upsell fees should have been optional. I observed this same tactic used on EVERY customer in line before and after me. So- This is not an isolated incident—it is a systemic, unethical upsell scam of a practice.

    My only option under this coercion Was to ask that the inflated contract be canceled or just gave in and pay for the extortion. Canceling would leave me stranded at this creepy off site car rental edifice —with no transportation back to the airport, no support, and no viable alternative. This feeling stranded is part of the coercion deceptive practice because if you don’t like being scammed and ask to cancel the inflated contract you will be left stranded. Nonetheless- I canceled the contract and asked that my credit card be reimbursed for the $300 deposit and the entire inflated contract price. I knew reimbursement would take days. I will never use Advantage Car Rental or Priceline again.

    Stay away from Advantage car rental at 2600 SW 3rd Ave FLL 33315. Their price looks appealing online at first. When you get there, however, they will charge you hundreds of dollars more in fees that no one has ever heard of. Then they will make you sign a document telling you you can't dispute their charges on your credit card. Then they will give you the car you rented with the fuel tank only half full, hoping they can charge you additional gas fees when you return it to them. They will also charge you an additional "cleaning fee" of $150 and tell you that your car wasn't clean when you returned it. When you call their number, someone will answer their phone pretending they are only the driver and tell you there is nothing they can do about it and that there is no one you can talk to. This place is a SCAM!! They do not know how to run an honest business!!

    100% RIP OFF! DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They offer low rates to get you to their front desk. Then, the games begin.... I had to wait 45 minutes just to get to the counter (even though there were two other (spare?) staff hanging out behind the counter chatting). I handed over all paperwork, including additional proof of insurance thru priceline, and a travel cc card (which also carries insurance), they confirmed everything as OK. Then - Whoopsee #1 - sorry - your car is not yet ready. So I waited yet another 30 minutes. Finally the car is ready, but - Whoopsee #2! - turns out that out of my proof of 3 separate insurance coverages - none is acceptable to them. They demand I fork over another $350 for their insurance for a 4 day rental. I said HELL no. They said TOO BAD. So I left without the car - after wasting 2 hours with these pirates. (The long wait is intentional - to get you upset and desperate to get out of there). I will never use this company ever again. WARN OTHERS!

    DO NOT RENT FROM ADVANTAGE!!! I made a reservation for their Fort Lauderdale, FL location. Was quoted a price for daily rental cost, taxes, fees, etc. Total for 10 days $163.00. When I arrived to pick up my car I waited in line for over an hour. I thought it was strange customers at the counter looked very unhappy. I soon found out why...This shady company has hidden fees, rules, and upcharges. I've never seen anything like this at other companies in the 30+ years of renting cars. $163=$597!!! Deposit is $1000. Stay away from Advantage- It's a scam!!! I went back to the airport and rented from Budget after wasting over two hours with this awful excuse for a rental car company.

    FT. LAUDERDALE AIRPORT LOCATION: If I could give a zero for a review, I would, for this lying, piece of crumble, of a company. What a haystack of a show. When we got there, 4 other customers were outside waiting to get an uber to other companies and were already frustrated and angry. We had our reservation and confirmation number. I was thinking this is not good. I was right. The guys behind the counter, lied, were not helpful, and just tried to tack on unnecessary charges for no reason. Mandatory tire and battery fees as well as an insurance building fee??? What was to cost me 150 dollars they tried to charge me 650 dollars for a 7 day rental. Such kinky flippery!!!! Renters beware. These guys are not legit at all. We Ubered to Enterprise, paid 300 dollars and had a lovely experience.

    Beware with Advantage Car Rental in Orlando Florida, they overcharge me. They never send me back my security deposit for the car rental $500. That's a racket, that way they take out your money. That's happens January 26th 2025, now I have to pay that money to my credit card. Don't have a receipt, they never gave me any papers, the only evidence I have is my credit card statement.

    This company is a total scam! We booked them through Expedia and paid $82 but when we got there, the charge was $570 without the toll pass! I called the police and the police did show up, and they told me there wasn’t anything they could do, and told me that they are called there almost nightly with the same complaint. Don’t ever use this company! Thank goodness for Mauricio ** at Victory Rent-A-Car in the same building. He charged me $380 which included all my tolls! He was my savior.

    Stay away from this place. They practice bait and switch. The low price that you book for is not the real price.
    1. You have to catch a shuttle bus from the airport to the airport car rental center and from there you have to wait for another shuttle to take you off site to the location.

    2. Once you get to the location there was a long line with only two people assisting that were very slow. It doesn’t take 15 minutes per person at a regular car rental place.

    3. The price I shopped for was one thing I reserved for and another price when I got there. A lot of people left because the price in reality was 100’s of dollars more.
    3. They don’t take AmEx which is what I reserved the car with and was informed that I needed to bring the card I reserved with with me.

    4. They don’t accept your insurance. I have insurance through my car insurance and rental insurance with AmEx. The worst experience I have had at a car rental company. A lot of people left angry with similar issues. I went to Enterprise without reservations and was in and out at a cheaper price.

    Liars and scammers .... Avoid this so called car rental place and their 2 other car rental places that all are off site. I reserved 9 days in advance and got an email confirmation with nothing other than confirmation number... No address, no directions on how or where to go (you have to take 2 buses as they are not at the airport... Not even their name and there is absolutely no signage at the airport... I had to ask real reputable car rental companies where they are ... They kind of laughed and now I know why) or details about the rental.

    After finally figuring out how to get there, 1 hr after, I stood in line for another 20 min...They cancelled the reservation because it was more than an hour ... just a bunch of liars. What do you do when your flight is delayed? Do you make the reservation for 3 hrs later just to be safe? Avis gives you 4 hrs. I have a feeling they would have given any reason to cancel it because the price was so cheap and I saw them turn away 2 others prior to me. If it sounds too good to be true (regarding prices) it simply is. I'll never look up these low priced rentals again... They are unprofessional and could care less about you.

    They will charge you extra because my own insurance from Geico wasn't enough. I had to pay $200 extra for insurance. They charge you extra for cleaning. Their office is located far from the airport, need to take two different shuttles from the airport.

    My wife agreed to online rental rate which equated to a cost of approximately $70. At Fort Lauderdale airport we went to the designated shuttle location. We waited 1.5 hours for shuttle which never arrived. Listed number not answered. We ended up Ubering to their listed 'location'. Upon entering found six other customers complaining about being mandated to pay for $500K liability coverage for their rentals when trying to use their own insurance. One guy had a mix of $250K liability and $250K collision. $500K total. Not accepted. Personally, I've always had my proof of insurance on me and accepted by other rental car companies. NOT this company. All of us ended up having to pay the liability Ins extortion amount to get a car or go somewhere else. I told them their practices were intentionally deceptive or they would not see the volume of customers complaining.

    Most likely this $500K liability insurance is their actual profit margin. I will be following up with the Florida Dept of Insurance, and all review sites with factual evidence of our insurance and their bill. $70 is now at least $370 which the FINAL amount will be verified at turn-in. If I could give Advantage a negative rating of -5 I would!

    This is a rip off scam company. They lure you with a lowball price that has no place in reality. After waiting nearly 3 hours in line and showing full coverage insurance. They informed me that they don’t take outside insurance and wanted to bill me over $150 extra per day. This was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. The best advice I can give would be to just stay far away from this company.

    It's the first time I used Advantage in the last two decades, and the experience was horrible, never ever has similar experience anywhere on the earth. This company should be out of business. I believe it sets up everyone when possible. I booked a car at Priceline with $141, My flight was delayed so I was delayed around one hour by the time I was at the counter. I was told the car I booked not available anymore and I need to pay $437 for a similar replacement. People in front of me, during my conversation with the staff, and people came after me, NO ONE got what they booked, everyone was very upset. The staff attitude were very bad, basically "take it or leave it!" No one got his or her rental during around one hour when I was there. From what i experienced and observed, I believe it was NOT accidental but a well-planned setup, So NEVER EVER use Advantage!!!! This kind of company should be legally punished sooner or later!

    I was quoted a Final Price on Priceline (In all of my years I have never had an issue unless You opt for add on's that will be your price) Not with Advantage. I was forced to take additional ins that double my original price. With the help of a rude agent. I will never use Advantage AGAIN!!

    I was forced to have their insurance coverage which added an extra $75. I was able to transfer my car insurance to the rental which fully covered their car and they still said I needed theirs. I bought all my documentations proof of insurance, and I asked my insurance carrier if their car was gonna be fully protected using my own car insurance and the answer was yes. I emailed them. I called them. They never responded. Hopefully I never have to rent from them again and would not recommend nobody go to them.

    I rented a car for my daughter to join us for Christmas, they forced her to take an upgraded vehicle, they added every charge possible, just kept telling her to initial hear. Initial here initial here, the car ended up costing us four times. What was quoted. When I called customer service they said there was nothing that could be done. Never again!

    I rent a car online to the Orlando location. Once I got there, because I am a Florida resident, they requested $750 deposit and 3 bills with my address. I didn't have all the bills so I had to cancel. They are not located in the airport, so I had to get take a shuttle back to the airport and find a car on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. The customer service was bad and the whole experience was a nightmare!!! Don't go by the price, it cost me 3 times more for last minute reservation, because of them!
