For years I had been taking my vehicle to Wal-mart ($10.00) for tire rotation every 3k miles. Someone said I should try Big O ($16.80), which was closer. They used floor jacks instead of the lift for some reason and did one side at a time. I could only see them do the side closest to the window. A day later I was checking the tire pressures as I always do, and noticed that they had crushed the bottom edge of the rocker panel with their jack. I talked to them about it and they said it was that way when I brought it in. It cost me $350 to have a body shop straighten and repaint it. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

I took my car in on Tuesday morning at about 10:30am. Needed 2 front tires and an alignment. They said it would take about an hour to 1.5 hours. So I went with my friend down the street for bagels. Came back, paid for the service and left. On my way from Berkeley to Hayward, I realized I needed gas so stopped to do so. That's when I realized my $100 bill was missing but my $10 bill and $1 bills were still in there. Ok this is crazy. I know it was just in there. I just saw it. Like literally. Then I notice my credit card is missing but my debit card is still there. Now I know I'm not going crazy.

Then I notice the birthday card that I had to send to my aunt was also missing, my favorite sunglasses that weren't cheap were gone from their case, a watch with a dead battery that my dad gave me - gone, 3 vape pens and their chargers. They even stole a charger for something they didn't take so now that is no good to me any more either. They took a pair of earrings also and a ring that was completely buried in the center console. None of these items were out in the open; they were all in something that was completely closed and covered. I'm not sure exactly what else was taken but the money maybe I myself could have misplaced it. But to leave the other bills, and to steal all the other stuff just makes it a blatant disrespect. They may as well have just said ** you to me and then called me a **.

I called many times to speak with the manager that day and he just pretended to take it seriously by saying he was investigating. Wow. What coward liars. Anyway so then I'm on the freeway and I can't go over 65 with out the car shaking feeling as if I'm driving on a bridge on a tremendously windy day in a tiny car. If I let loose on the steering wheel it veers off to the right very quickly. So apparently an alignment was never done. Once I get to my destination, I look and they didn't even bother to rotate my tires when they put the two new tires on. That's basic tire 101 I would assume for an actual tire shop where they actually specialize basically just in tires and brakes too and not just any regular car shop.

So at this point, not only am I now taking it personal because they blatantly stole numerous items, didn't put the tires on correctly, but didn't even do the extra work for the alignment that I did pay for with cash and have the receipt, but I'm beyond pissed. Whichever employee(s) did this lame act is a total and complete coward bully with most likely a mini man complex. Miserable little trolls to operate in such a way. Apparently they plan on changing tires forever or nothing at all since that can't even be done correctly. Don't bother going to these cocky jerks.

After responding to an ad I went to Big O in Yuma, AZ. After a five hour wait, I was confronted by a man behind the counter who exhibited the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life...and I am 79 years old!!! One bright spot was Sophia who tried to make it right with me but honestly, I was beyond any offer at that point. To make matters worse, the man standing next to her behind the counter told me to "Get out". There is more but I will not bore you with the details. I wrote an evaluation to the store, but there is NO EXCUSE for the aggressive and rude customer service I received! Who trains those people? Where was the management? What goes on behind closed doors with your car when this behavior goes on in the front service room? Think twice before going to Big O!

Don't do business here! Today I brought in my car to have 2 wheels rebalanced and mounted. They took my car to the back where nobody could see what was going on. They jacked up my car underneath the front fender to get to the wheel. They put the jack on the bottom of the fender, not on the brace they are suppose to in order to lift the car properly and bent the crap out of the bottom of the fender making it out of alignment with the door. After confronting them about it they said it was like that when it got there and my fault even though it was obviously caused by their jack (the bends in the metal are shaped like the round top of a jack).

These guys have no clue what they are doing and can't even man up to their mistakes. In the past I have taken many vehicles to them thinking they were good and have been satisfied but after today they have lost my business. Either go somewhere else or take pictures of your car before you hand them the keys to prove their fault if something happens.

After going to a few other places to get estimates for the same job that BIG O did, we went back to BIG O and calmly talked to them, telling them that we felt like we got overcharged. We ended up getting $500.00 returned to us. Pretty happy about that.

We are staying in our 5th wheel near Maricopa. We wanted to get new tires on our 5th wheel. While they had the tires off, they inspected the brakes. They found that the brake seals were leaking. There was grease all over the magnets and pads and drums. They told us that the drums were scored and should be replaced and the whole backing plate had to be replaced since the brake pads and magnets are all part of it. I'm not bothered by the backing plates being replaced but after further research, I've discovered that the drums did not need to be replaced.

The part that really gets me is the fact that the whole job of re-doing the brakes (4 - dual axle) cost almost $2500. Boy did we get ripped off. I've already gotten 1 other quote, from an RV dealer no less, and it came to about $1500, even with the drums that we didn't need. The drums on the new quote were $69.00 and the cost that we paid was $159.00. We didn't know what this whole job should have cost elsewhere or we never would have paid that much. In casual conversation with the manager, he told us that his shop is the 2nd busiest in the country and they do over $10 mil/year in business. At the rate they charged us no wonder they're making so much money. :o(

About 2 months ago I put new tires on my van, $600 which included hazard warranty and new sensors and an alignment. 2 days after I am on the freeway, driving and my car starts wrenching to the right. I take the van back in and they supposedly fix it. A few days later goes by, no problem and I am driving my kids home from a doc appointment and the car starts wrenching to the right again, so I take it back in. The manager says he fixed the alignment this time. Well after that my car still wrenches to the right 2 months later. I'm pissed beyond belief and now my low tire sensor kicks on and I go and have them put air in my tires yesterday. Well I drive off and my low tire light is still on. Well as of today I'm fuming and my light is still on so I take the car back to them.

I go into their building where there are about 6 workers in the office and it takes a minute for anyone to come out and see if I need help. When someone finally comes out I explain to him my situation with the light still on and he tells me well if you can wait for 2 hrs we can have your car looked at. I explain to him I cannot wait that long to have my tire light checked out and he tells me, "We only have one guy working the tire department." So all of these men in the office cannot check a light much less to see if it's my tire still low?!? WTF is that? How do you get to be a manager or office person in an auto company and cannot check a damn tire?!? You need a new profession then. Needless to say, I left extremely pissed off and will not be returning to the big O Tires ever again!!! The customer service sucks and if you have 6 managers who don't know how to check tires then you need to get some new employees!!!

I went to Big O in Woodland Park, CO to get winter tires. I told the sales person everything I needed including a oil change and new wipers along with the 4 tires. She gave me an invoice for $623.98 and told me to come in at 9am the next day. It would take about 1 1/2 hr. I came in as requested. It took until 11:30 for the job to be done, changing a appt. that I made expecting to get out of there earlier. Then she gave me the bill $708.48. When I asked why, she said she forgot to add the oil change and wipers on the orig invoice. When I double checked she was correct but that error should have been told to me at 9 am so I could have decided whether or not it was worth $84.44 to get a oil change and wipers. I would not have agreed! I will never go back this store again.

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment with the quality of the repairs I have received at the Big O outlet (#5034) located at 9720 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624. Off the top, I want to stress that I have received nothing but good service from ** at the store. He has been courteous and professional. My problem lies with the work being performed in the shop. The one name that seems to appear on the work orders is technician **.

The story begins as follows. In March (3/21/15) I needed new tires for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4WD TRD and came to the shop and purchased 4 BFG All Terrain T/A tires. (Invoice # **). I was told at the time that I had worn out front ball joints and that my rack and pinion left inner shaft had excess movement. Replacement was suggested. I thought this was reasonable. The truck is 15 years old and I had not had occasion to replace them. I approved the work.

I brought the truck back in and had the work done 3/28/15 (Invoice # **). The work was performed by **, at a cost of $1239.15. I went on a camping trip in May. No rock crawling. Nothing crazy. I ran the truck on the same roads as I had the prior 13 years with no problems. Upon my return, I noticed a definite problem. When turning to the left, the truck worked fine, however, the steering struggled to come back to center. It felt like the power steering had gone out. Right turns were not a problem.

I took the truck back the shop 5/30/15. They warranted the rack and pinion and put a new power steering pump in at a cost of $416.20 (Invoice # **). The pump was apparently switched on suspicion since no one could definitively say it was failing or had failed. The work was performed by ** AND **. I had never had a single issue with my steering in any way before taking the advice of swapping out my rack and pinion.

In late September the same left turn issue returned and I took the truck into the shop in October (10/12/15). They warranted the power steering pump (Invoice # **). The technician was not listed on the paperwork. I was not charged for the visit, but had a disturbing contact with employee **. He told me that though they replaced the pump the issue was still present. He also told me that he talked to some of the other employees who he said were familiar with Toyotas and told me that the left turn situation was normal. I find that incredible. In the 13 years I have owned the truck I have NEVER ONCE experienced the left turn difficulties. Further, if the situation was normal, then why did they warranty the power steering pump? Needless to say, I was upset by this and did not trust the information I had received.

I took my car to a local shop, Auto Tech on 10/17/15. I had them do a diagnostic which cost me $80 (Invoice # **). I was told that they had never heard of the steering difficulty with a Tacoma to be a normal occurrence. Further, they indicated the current rack and pinion (second one installed) was either defective/damaged or installed incorrectly. They also said that the steering shaft had been reconnected incorrectly and was off by 2 or three teeth.

This got me thinking that if the rack was defective, or improperly installed, then I probably did not need the power steering pump that was installed 5/30/15. I now feel I paid $416.20 unnecessarily. I feel this is proven by the fact that on 10/12/15 they replaced that pump and the problem did not go away. It seems it must have been the rack and pinion all along but it was trying to be passed off as normal. Also, in diagnosing the problem on 10/12/15, how did the Big O technician miss the issue with the rack and pinion? Why did they just replace the power steering pump? How was my steering shaft off by two or three teeth? How was that not seen in the prior trips to Big O?

I took the Tacoma back to Big O on 10/21/15. They again warranted the rack and pinion (Invoice # **). I had asked them to use a different brand since the previous two units were apparently defective (or incorrectly installed). They said they did as I asked. The technicians again listed on the invoice were ** AND **. Since with the THIRD rack and pinion installed hopefully correctly, the problem of the left turn has been resolved. I feel this is further evidence of an unneeded power steering being installed at my expense.

Last week I noticed a red fluid dripping from beneath the truck. It looked to be seeping from the brand new rack unit. I took the truck into the shop today, 11/13/15. I spoke with **, who again was professional and courteous, and I advised him that I am really tired of having to bring my truck in constantly. I told him that I NEVER had any kind of steering issue at all with this truck until they started working on it and that I had lost confidence in them. He asked if he could look at it. We walked to the truck and I pointed out the leak, ran a finger on the seeping area and showed him the red fluid. He asked if he could have the chance to look at the problem more closely. I told him that is fine, but I do not want them to do any work on the truck, I just want my money back for the apparently unneeded power steering pump and I will take the truck elsewhere to be fixed.

** called back a few minutes ago (about 9:15 am 11/13/15) and advised me that upon inspecting the new rack unit they found a leaking O-ring, replaced it (Invoice # **) and ran the truck for a while and noticed no further leaks. I asked him how could an O-ring less than 2 months old fail. He said it sometimes happens. I asked if it had been installed incorrectly. He said he did not think so. He said come get the truck and run it a while and see if any similar issues arise, If so, bring the truck back in and they will take it to the next level.

Here are my thoughts. I never had a single steering related issue with this truck prior to March 2015 when I followed Big O's recommendations and replaced my rack and pinion. I am on my third rack. How likely is it that the prior two were defective? I am on the second power steering pump. How likely is it that the first replacement was defective? I feel it is far more likely that incorrect or incompetent workmanship is the more likely cause: The same guy worked on my truck each time. Another shop even commented on the work. I believe shoddy workmanship regarding the rack and pinion was the cause of the power steering pump even being involved. And now three racks and two pumps later still more evidence of what? A defective O-ring or incompetent work? Which seems more likely?

I feel I should be reimbursed for the unnecessary replacement of my steering pump ($416.20) and the diagnostic ($80) I had to have from the other shop that pointed out Big Os failures. I ask that Big O reimburse me for a total of $496.20. I believe this is fair and more than supported by the facts. I am not asking for any compensation for my time spent on repeated trips to the shop. I just want my money back for what appears to be an unnecessary replacement of the original power steering pump. I am NOT interested in store credit. I want my money back. I will wait for a reasonable time for you to respond before pursuing action with the BAR, BBB and any other forum I think might be able to help me. I am more than willing to discuss the matter at any time.

Brought my car to install new wheels, tires and tps sensors and get it aligned. After leaving the car all day to get the job done I picked it up to find out the car was vibrating while driving, the computer was telling me the pressure on all tires was ZERO, and it kept pulling to one side. I brought it back to this location and waited about 3 more hours while they check it again. After that they told me that my car computer was bad and I need it to replace it (but my old wheels and tires were working fine) or the wheels' sensors were bad but they were more than happy to sell them to me without guaranteeing me that they will work. I decided to leave after the manager James got a nasty attitude when I started to ask questions.

I brought it to Community Tire Pros the following day to see what the problem was and this is what they find out. The car uses stagger tires. Well Big O mounted one wide tire in LF and one thin tire in RF, one thin tire in the RL and one wide tire in the RR. The tires that I got installed by Big O are directional so Community found one of the front tires was reversed. The wheel balancing that Big O did: WRONG, WRONG. Community had to balance each tire again. When they went to check the alignment they found out that all the factory bolts to the suspension were still paint sealed from the factory, meaning Big O never aligned it but they sure charge me for it. About the bad computer and bad sensors??? Well Big O don't even know how to program the computer to the new sensors. Sensors and computer were good and working fine since community programmed them.

Community checks the car for dings and/or scratches, they find out that two of my NEW wheels were scratched. It happened when they balanced the tires, they used the wrong tools to do so. Now I have two scratched wheels. I will not recommend this place not even to put air on your tires. I have never been in a tire place that don't even know how to mount a tire, program tire sensors and not even how to balance a tire.

Late Sept. 2015, I went in for oil change and radiator flush changes. Vehicle is a 2005 Jeep Liberty with a 2.8L diesel engine that was only manufactured years 2005 & 06. Admittedly you don't see these often and there are not a lot of them running around, but this one has done well and purred like a kitten. Jeep has 170K miles, and is mostly used on long trips between Az., and southern Calif. Required oil weight is a 0W-40, synthetic, which I always provide myself to Big O. They then charge only for the labor. I also bring all the appropriate filters as well. The difference this time was the request for the radiator flush.

Brought Jeep in early a.m. Completion was promised by 3:00 PM. At 11:30 a.m. I received a call from Big O saying the oil change was completed, but the Jeep would not start and therefore they could not complete the radiator work. It was agreed to allow the Jeep to "rest" for several hours. The 3 PM completion hour came and went with the Jeep still unable to start. I was leaving for the weekend, so I told Big O we would reconnoiter the situation on Monday. Vehicle still was inoperable on Monday, and I had the Jeep picked up and towed to the local Jeep dealer.

Jeep dealer called almost immediately stating there was water in the oil chamber, pistons and the motor was vapor-locked, almost an instant death sentence. The dealer then drained, changed oil and filter again and did other various diagnostic tests etc., to get the Jeep back into running condition. Dealer reported that we had essentially dodged a bullet avoiding the vapor-lock, and recommended that long type trips should possibly be avoided for the next 1000 - 2000 miles. It's been close to the 1000 mile use, at month's end and vehicle is in fact running well. I am now appealing to Big-O to reimburse me for dealer repair and tow bill, total of just $900. I'll report if that falls on deaf ears or not.

Big O Tires could best be described as John Dillinger without a gun. They cannot be trusted. Also, when you ask to get a defective part replaced with a part that has a lifetime warranty, the Big O tires sales rep. usually makes a grimace on his face as if he is trying to pass a peach seed through his rectum at the mere mention of a lifetime warrantied part. This is **. If you try to nail them down they will say "Sorry, we don't do lifetime warranties on parts." WHY - because they want to hit you in your wallet again when the part they sell you fails after a year or so.

First off I would like to say that I WILL review and edit my review IF the company makes it right. My experience started several months ago when I went to Big O Tires in Rolla, Missouri to inquire about the purchase of new tires for my 2007 Dodge Charger. Upon the purchase of this car, it came with 22 inch tires that were fairly worn. When approaching about the possibility of purchasing a new set of tires they informed me that they will NOT work on my car because of my "Nig**r Rims". I am a single (white) mom of three kids and my car is my baby. Something that I worked really hard to get and am very proud of and I am very disappointed in a company's response but brushed it off as someone having a bad day, or they were jealous that I could have a car as nice as mine.

Several months went by and I bought a set of used tires and rims from an individual. Still 22 inch rims but with 70% tread and 20 times nicer. I got my alignment done at one business and then was informed they couldn't do the balance because the tire size so I called and spoke with Big O Tires who informed me they could help. It was absolutely necessary as I was making a 10 hour trip to Louisiana that evening. All was good until I got on the interstate and noticed a shake in my wheel, chalked it up at my bigger tires. 3 hours into the trip the shake was unbearable and I pulled over... come to find out each of my tires were 10-20 pounds short on each tire. Angered, I filled the tires to 40 (tires say 49) and was on my way.

2 days later I got back on the road with a light shake in my wheel. 3 hours from home and 9 pm at night, I hit a work zone and tried to slow down. My brake had no power.... coasting and rolling into a side road my car came to a stop beside a tire shop. Got out my jack and started my investigation to find that my brake line had ruptured on my left side... distraught and panicked I knocked on every door until someone gave me the phone number to the Tire Shop owner, who conveniently was a mechanic as well had his shop next door to the tire shop. He informed me that he was eating dinner and would be down as soon as he got done. 3 hours later the mechanic had our car jacked up and was pointing out what had gone wrong. Big O Tires had put the wrong type of weights on the car, which had rubbed the brake line until it busted.

Monday morning I called Big O Tires and told them the story. Never saying one word about them changing my brake lines, merely asking them to replace the weights for the correct weights that wouldn't rub. Mike said he would take a look at it and to bring it on down. When I arrived he basically told me it was impossible for the brake line to be rubbed by the weights and "that's on me". I agreed for a few moments stating that the mechanic had said that's what it is from. He then tells me that he will replace the weights as requested and take a look. He kept repeating "it's on me", so I informed him that I would call around. He also informed me that they only put the required amount of air as what the door says. The door quotes 30 pi, which is for the stock tires of 17 or 18. My tires are several sizes larger than stock....

After going back to the office I called a couple places, including the place I had gotten the alignment all confirming that is very possible about the weights. So I called Big O Tires back and asked him to hang onto the weights he originally put on, at which time he interrupted me and said that he has it in the air and wants to show me that it was not the weights, the tires are too big and he is documenting everything because the tires are a 'safety hazard'. I informed him that it was possible and he kept saying that he was documenting everything because of the safety hazard. So I asked him to take my car off the racks and I would take it elsewhere.

I picked up my car and took it to the place I got my alignment and they confirmed the left brake line was worn because of the weight and the right tire is a combination of my tire and the weight. I accept responsibility for the tire being the wrong size, but they are deeming my tires as a safety hazard only after I showed him the problem... how did they not catch the tire being too big the first time? And they still accept no responsibility in the weight problem. I have reported the issue to corporate, and intend on following up everyday until the company accepts responsibility for their wrongs and quit trying to cover their tracks. My whole family could have died last night had it not been a work zone. This is not laughing matter and just because I have a nice car with nice rims and a female in no sense do I deserve the treatment this company has given me.

We headed over to Big O on labor day and they suggested that we needed a new coolant temperature sensor. We had them go ahead and perform the service to our vehicle which totaled $115.63. When we picked up our suv our temp gauge was still broken! My husband asked if they had checked to make sure it worked and he was told by the technician Mike ** that it would cost more if we wanted him to run the diagnostics to check the part. Seriously… Why wouldn't they check the part regardless? Just as an FYI the staff at this location made it a point to complain to customers about how corporate made them work on a holiday and although I agree that it sucks, it's definitely not professional to complain to customers.

I've had nothing but problems from this Big O Tires location on Mchenry Avenue, Modesto CA. I decided I needed some new tires for my Mazda Miata, two rears. After looking on their website I decided to call and get some advice. I called and the guy said they would call me back in an hour because they were super busy. It was understandable so I left my phone number along with my car details. Three hours went by and still didn't get a phone call. I finally called back and the worker apologized and went on to suggest tires. He seemed to know what he was talking about, but he kept offering tires that he couldn't get a hold of. Finally we found some Yokohama tires which he HIGHLY recommended. He said he would be able to get them by tomorrow morning at either 8 am or noon so I should expect a call by 1 PM. The day went by and it was soon 3 PM and I still hadn't received a call.

I decided to call and they told me to come down and they'd get started. I went down and dropped my car off, and left to Carmax to burn some time. I received a call 20 minutes later asking "We need the key to get your rims off" in which I responded they don't need a key, it's a simple 12 point socket. The worker said "Okay we will take a look". They called back and insisted they don't have the socket for it, and that I need to "go home and get one so they can remove the wheel". I was pretty furious at this point because how does an auto shop not have a simple 12 point socket. I went back to get my keys but before that I told them that it's ridiculous, I could literally go to Walmart and buy one for a couple dollars. I told him to go check one more time and WHAT DO YOU KNOW they found one. He then proceeded to tell me "Oh yeah that's not a normal socket and auto shops usually don't carry it" which was a load of trash.

Finally I get my tires, in which the worker didn't offer me ANY warranty plan AT ALL. I even asked him before I left "What kind of mileage can I expect to get out of this tire before I need to change it" and he said "These don't have an estimate, as long as you don't drift they're fine" which I felt was extremely unprofessional, and I could tell he was annoyed by me. So now fast forward to two months later, I probably have only driven the car less than 1,000 miles I noticed the tire was flat in my garage. I then aired it up and noticed a bubble was forming on the tire. I immediately stopped airing it up because that's obviously a huge fault, as I was removing the tire it blew up.

I figured I'd be fine under some sort of manufacturer warranty but as I came into the store today they told me "It looks like someone cut it, so it's not covered and you didn't buy the warranty." Are you kidding me? I literally drove the car maybe 800-1000 miles, and you guys are not going to cover it because "It looks cut". How unprofessional is that. Anyone looking for any service stay away from this location.

First and foremost I would like to say that the Big O Tires in Torrance on PCH has always been top-notch to deal with. Friendly and reliable staff who work with you to resolve issues quickly. Most of the tires that I have needed they have been able to get the same day or next day. I used to go to America's Tires (in Torrance on Hawthorne) but that place always felt very sterile and rather unfriendly. Not to mention, busy.

I have purchased 2 sets of the Big O brand tires for both my old FJ Cruiser and currently for my Jeep Wrangler. I purchased the Bigfoot XT's in both cases and I could not be happier with these beasts!! They have stood up to whatever challenge I have put them through. My first set on the FJ were 33's and now I am currently running 35's on the Jeep which I understand is the largest diameter that the XT's will go to. Shame because I would like to bump it up to 37's at some point and I am completely in love with the performance of these particular tires. They have an all-terrain tire under their brand as well but these (XT's) are really a more aggressive all-terrain. I wouldn't classify them as a "mud" tire. However they have proven themselves in all sorts of different conditions.

If you are interested in a great all-around tire that isn't overly aggressive then these are them. The tread holds up well. If you have the opportunity to visit the Big O on PCH in Torrance then I am sure they will take care of you with the same top-notch quality and attention to detail that they have for me. I have even brought my wife's Maserati Ghibli here twice as she has need a replacement tire and they have always been careful and professional with all of our vehicles. It's a shame to read such poor reviews from others about other Big O locations. Surprising really given the level of treatment I have received from the Torrance branch.

I get my car back and the steering wheel is not straight. I go back and tell them, "My steering wheel is not straight." So they take it back on the alignment rack and redo the alignment, and I get my car back and I start driving again. Steering wheel still not straight and looks the same. So I take it back in the next day and say, "Hey, my steering wheel is not straight and this is my 3rd time coming in here." So he asks me what is not straight about my steering wheel. I tell him when it's straight my car goes to the right. When it's pointing to the 10 o'clock position it drives straight. So he gives my keys to a technician and again goes to the alignment rack and I get my car back after 15 minutes. I go and drive it and IT'S STILL NOT STRAIGHT.

But I was unable to go back 'cause I had family things to take care of. So I called a different Big O Tires here in West Valley and they told me it's only under warranty at the same shop in Sandy, Utah (9000 S, 700 E), and I refuse to go back 'cause they obviously don't know what they're doing. I should of gone back after I was not busy but I didn't. Their technicians are lazy and are not centering the steering wheel and locking it down before adjusting the front tie rods. They don't know what they're doing. Or it could be both. All I know is that became a terrible shop to go to after the mom and dad sold it. I looked under the car when I got to work and noticed a bolt that was very loose on the tie rod end that was just replaced. I called Big O Tires and spoke to the Manager **. After several lengthy conversations, ** said he "can't" have his mechanic come out, as it is time for them to go home. I advised I can't safely drive my car and his response was "oh well, we can't come to you". Furthermore, he tried to say the bolt malfunctioned.

Update: ** with "customer relations" was very uncaring about the issue, interrupted me while I was talking and did not acknowledge the fact that I requested compensation for this issue or that the vibrating may have caused other damage. What a piss poor excuse for a company this is. Never again. Vibration or "the death wobble" as the Big O Mechanic called it, occurred again on 6/20, 6/21 and 6/22. Called Big O Tires again and after several empty promises and lengthy conversations with the Store Manager, ** he said I would need to continue to drive the vehicle and get it to their shop for repair, again. Was told repair would take 1/2 hour. I arrived at 0800 hours on 6/22 and left at 1010. ** argued with me when I asked him to provide me copies of the invoices from the company he ordered the parts from for the parts he ordered, which is something he initially offered.

This was so I could see that the parts were new. I advised I would be contacting Channel 7 news about this fiasco. Store employee named ** laughed when I said I would contact Channel 7 news. When I asked another employee for his name, ** came out in an aggressive manner and asked "if I have something to say to him". This happened at 826 AM. Not only that, ** refused to give me the name of the employee who laughed when I said I would contact Channel 7 news. I got the name of the employee who laughed from another employee. ** also said that his mechanic, ** told me if this continued to happen, the steering dampener would have to be replaced. I was never told this. ** told me I am a liar. I then asked if the mechanic made any notes about the steering dampener and ** said he does not have to make notes about recommended repairs and no, he didn't make any notes about the steering dampener.

Notified corporate office of issue. Again, spoke to ** who was rude and totally unconcerned. I asked ** to have someone else besides the store manager deal with it and they called ** anyways. We have been going to this Big O for years with pretty good service, but recently things have changed a bit. They have developed a habit of telling you that you need things that you do not need, this happened to us more than once with both of our vehicles, specifically shocks and struts. But a very recent visit has convinced us to no longer use this Big O. During a recent tire change, they neglected to tighten the lug nuts on one wheel and this caused $800 of damage to our vehicle. We noticed the vehicle making a new noise a couple of days after the service, so not trusting Big O to correctly deduce issues, we took it to our dealership. The dealership confirmed that the tire rotation was the very obvious issue and that they would take full responsibility had it be their mistake.

But when we called to have Big O address this, even though they admitted that they likely caused the damage, they refused to do anything further about it. They did offer to give us a small percentage off the $800 in damage via a store credit, but their overall response was that their only option was to offer to make the repair themselves. Since we no longer trusted them to make repairs and the fact that until we knew what was wrong when we brought it to the dealership, that was not an option. I did spend time trying to work with Big O, but their responses were not timely and they were unwilling to work outside of any policies even saying that Colorado law prevented them from doing anything further. We will no longer go to any Big O despite the many many years we have used them in the past.

On March 30, 2015 I took my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in to see if wheel alignment was needed. There. I've used this particular location (Pleasanton, CA) for alignment on many occasions through the years because I felt they did a good job. That is until I perused the alignment data printout. There are 3 specific measurements, Camber, Caster, and Toe that determine wheel alignment. There are other measurements, Cross Camber, Cross Caster, Total Toe, and Thrust Angle for front and rear but are controlled by the front end adjustments. On newer cars, including my Jeep, Toe is the only adjustable feature; the others are fixed and cannot be changed discretely. Any change is a result of the combined effects of the front left and right Toe.

I found the Toe "before measurements" were within the manufacturers specified range and did not need adjustment but they charged me full price anyway. The statement at the bottom of the page stated in red ink "The steering wheel was not level before the alignment. Toe adjustments are required." In green ink "The steering wheel is currently level." My steering wheel was perfectly level before coming in and the only variation in the before and after Toe measurements was on the front right which changed from 0.08 to 0.10. Specified range is 0.07 to 0.13. This needless adjustment was their way to justify charging me full price. The owner, Dave, even stated It only needed a minor adjustment when handing me the bill.

After realizing their propensity for dishonest behavior I reviewed an alignment printout for my Jeep from December 2005. I found the same thing. I was charged full price even though the before Toe measurements were well within the specified range indicating no adjustment was required. However there was no text at the bottom discussing my steering wheel.

I next checked the print out for an alignment performed on my Ford truck in February, 2015. Again, there were no indications of an out-of-alignment condition but had just purchased new tires (albeit from another company) and felt it prudent to have it checked. Toe before measurements were well within the specified range and did not need adjustment but they charged me full price anyway. There was the exact same statement at the bottom of the page regarding my steering wheel. "My steering wheel was perfectly level before coming in."

On Tuesday, March 31, I called the Big O store in Dublin, CA, about 5 miles away, told them I just bought new tires and asked what they would charge to check my alignment. I was told if no adjustment was needed there would be no charge. Next I called Big O's National Consumer Relations Department in Florida (1-866-834-2652) and filed a complaint asking for reimbursement. The representative, **, stated someone would contact me in the next 24 to 48 hours. It has been 7 calendar days and have yet to hear back from Big O.

I have not approached Dave, the owner (franchisee), about my concerns because of how far back this conduct has prevailed and don't believe he would willingly reimburse me. Plus, there are more instances with my Jeep and my wife's Toyota regarding alignment that I don't possess but are stored in his store's database. I don't think he would voluntarily provide them to me.

This was not fault at to them. Well I took my daughter to school the next day only about 3 miles away from our house and lost all power to the car. Well I called, he told me he would call me back. I did not hear from him for thirty-forty mins later saying, "My guy is at your car, where are you?" I said, "Well it's cold outside so I got a ride home making my sister in law late for work."

He told me, "Well you are going to be on the top of the list." I was like, awesome. I did not see or hear from anyone until I called them. About noon, they came to get my keys. I took my kid to school at seven-twenty or so then I did around two forty five or so, I called because I did not hear anything again. He said the one alternator was again no good. I said "ok that's fine." Well about ten minutes before closing, I called again, he said, "It all good you can come and get it." Well I did. When I got home, I opened the hood to check out my new alternator and it was not the one I paid for nor it even was not a good brand like the ACDelco one I paid for so I was upset. I called the corporate, they said I will hear back from the district manager in 24-48 hr.

Well on the next day, ** call saying "I got a call from the corporate, I thought everything was good?" I said, "It was until I seen you do not even have the right alternator on there." He said, "Oh yeah, it the other brand." I was like, yeah that's what the number show up online when I look them up then I got a little more upset. I did use some word I should have not but I was mad. Then he started to use some words to me and being in a store manager position, he should have not. Well we got it cooled down, he told me that he would give me a few oil changes for my troubles. I said, "That's awesome." Well with all the alternator stuff, it made my 1 1/2 year old battery die and ** said I put a new one on the out my pocket. It was a 134,00 for it and I said, "Well you should have because there was nothing wrong with mine when I came down there."

Well I found out 3 weeks later that the battery he put in my car was a old one with two dead cells. I had to take my car to the Nixa location which was the best thing I could have ever done. Every staff member there was nice, made sure they told me everything (and I mean everything), and ** the assistant manager was the best. He stuck there with me to make sure I was took care of. He is a awesome man. If you live in the Missouri area, go to this store. If you have to go to the Glenstone location, ask for ** and/or **. These two guys are stand up guys and will make sure you are took care of.

Steer clear (and I mean like ex long trailer clear) from **. He lied to me and did things I thought was sneaky and unprofessional. He is not a nice or good guy in my eyes and this is my opinion but if you can go to the Nixa store and ask for **, if you like Big O, that's the location to go to. You will be took care of with great customer service thanks to ** and the staff at the Nixa location. They're the best. Thanks.

I had been encouraged to buy an oil change package from my local Big-O Tires location. I was given no notice that they were closing and found out that they had closed only when I drove there early on a Saturday morning to get an oil change for which I already paid. I called the parent company and they told me I would have to drive to a different location in an area of a town in which I am never in and would be highly inconvenient for me considering my busy schedule. Also this location has a review rating of 1.6 stars out of 5 so basically I would have to use a location that I would never go to based upon the review score alone. The parent company would not refund my money and told me that was my only option. I paid $96.43 for a package of 5 oil changes and was only able to use two of them. I would not recommend any of their franchises based upon my experience.

Why Avoid Big O Tires - Independently Franchised not National and dishonesty. I have Used Big O for Many years in Utah and Colorado. I put them on my kids car and want BIG O because they say their warranty and service applies to all stores and they have lots of store location in both states that we drive between frequently... what they tell you is a lie. They are all independently franchised and do not work together even though they tell you they do to get you to buy the tires. The problem is unless you take the car to the specific store you purchased the tires at you get no service and they will try to deny warranty and service.

Specifics... I bought 4 z rated tires from Colorado Springs BIG O. They didn't feel right. When washing the car 2 days later, I noticed 3 tires were z rated one tire was H rated and different tread design. I drove 30 miles back to the store and they said they only had 3 but the one tire was their new version it was OK. If you know H and Z ratings you know it's BS. They didn't have 4 and couldn't get another as that tire was long discontinued so they tried to screw me. I called corporate. We ordered 4 new of another Make. Those tires were not balanced (they forgot) I went to the Monument Co store closer to me to get them properly balanced enhanced. They wouldn't do it. Said the stores were independent and I would have to take it where I bought it.

Years later in Orem Utah by the University Utah I had a flat. They said the tire had a slow sidewall cut and couldn't be fixed and wanted to charge me for a new one. It was a big O Brand tire. I said "then warranty it, as all big O tires have road hazard for that." They would not. They said I had to take it back to where I bought it even though the store I bought it at was in Provo 8 miles away. They aired up the tire and told me to drive there before it leaked out... Also, when I bought the tires they had LIFETIME road hazard. Then they switched it to just 3 years.

Frisco Colorado BIG O 2014. My daughter has a civic with BIG O Euro tour 80,000 mile tread ware tires. She got a flat driving between Utah and Colorado. Frisco Big O said the she needed a new tire and charged her for it. (Should have been under warranty) My daughter called me because she didn't have enough money for gas to get home. I told her to just have them patch the tire, they were only a season old. I talked to the store in Frisco directly. I said "just patch it." They said they couldn't because it was sidewall damage. I said then "why charge her- replace it under warranty..." When I asked WHY THEY HAD CHARGED A YOUNG GIRL FOR A NEW TIRE THAT WAS BIG O BRANDED AND NOT WARRANTY IT - THEY SAID ''We didn't know it was a big O tire."

So Let's think through this... They take a tire off the car and inspect it to see where the whole is. They put it in a dunk tank of water and move it around to find the hole. Then they read the sidewall of the tire to get the size and speed rating to know what size to sell her. They dismount the tire. After all this touching and inspecting they say they did not know it was a BIG O brand. IF that's they are incompetent and should never be trusted with anyone's safety and get near a car.....or they are completely dishonest trying to sell more tires. To top it off they said they didn't have that tire in stock but mounted one comparable.Comparable? The Big O tire had 80,000 mile warranty. The Provato tire is a no name unstocked Chinese tire with a 35,000 mile warranty... comparable? No just dishonest. It tool calling corporate and 6 months of dealing with this store to try to get resolution but not satisfactory.

Please learn from my first hand experience. If you travel beyond the exact store you purchased your tires from, AVOID BIG O at all costs. You do not have a national warranty. I know they say they do... but many times I have found out you do not. They are dishonest and have disregard for your safety selling mismatched tires that have a speed rating below what is required.

The Provo Utah Freedom blvd store is A+++ the best. But flats and problems happen else where and other stores screw you. Too bad the Provo store has to deal with other stores' dishonesty. I can recommend Provo 100% but I would not buy from Big O again because I need a national chain. Discount tire has never let me down regardless what state or city I have been in. I'm 50 yrs old with a lot of kids and a lot of cars and each car has snow tires too. I know what I am talking about.

I take it back and they tell me they would call when they had it fixed. Well when closing time came and I hadn't received a call I rushed over to find my car with the spare on it and my rim in the backseat. They told me my rim was cracked. After Spending 600 dollars this is what I got. I never had a problem with my tires going flat until they touched it. I don't know how my rim got cracked but it didn't happen until they touched it. We take a walk for the hour and when we get back, they tell us that they didn't do the alignment because it was needed. They said that they rotated the tires and check the pressure but 2 out of the 4 tires looks low to me. They didn't act like they wanted to do anything in the 1st place. When we got there, another person came in and told them he needed a tire and they were all over him trying to help out. They only had 2 people working in the garage and the one guy was going to work on a car all day according to the guy in the office. But yet they have plenty of time to help this person outright on the spot even though they tell us they are busy with other people at the moment. Basically they didn't want to do any work that was covered under warranty. It was a very bad experience and there is no way I want to go back there or want anyone else to have that bad experience. Apparently other people have had a mix of good and really bad experiences. I've had both, myself, which is why we ended up going to Big-O through four sets of tires. There won't be a fifth. I'm not sure if the company has gone down hill, or if you're just playing with fire each time you to go to Big-O. But I spent enough time waiting and watching other customers to give you my best guess.

Service: The staff tells people whatever they want to hear for delivery and install dates/times/status. They don't know. I brought my car in four times to get the new rims and tires put on this month. They wasted so much of my time the last two weeks and still haven't delivered what I ordered because they ordered rims that don't fit. The staff doesn't return calls if they don't have good news. I watched the staff tell one customer that his tires hadn't arrived yet. When he decided was ready to cancel the order, the manager worked on it. Sure enough, his tires were in the back. The staff just doesn't know what's going on. I watched the staff prioritize a walk-in customer over people who were waiting. It was just to close that sale. Or maybe they didn't actually prioritize the walk in but were being dishonest with them too.

Quality: Hard to know for sure their quality control, but it is disconcerting that they left one of those huge stickers on my last set of tires. I could hear it when I drove off. I came right back. By then, it was stuck on so well they couldn't get it off. They said it would wear off in a week or so. It did.

Bottom line: the staff says what it has to in order to get sales. In my opinion, Big-O accepts that a certain percentage of customers will end up unhappy because they've been strung along on price or delivery. But, once a customer decides to cancel the order they still owe a restocking fee even on tires or rims that Big-O ordered but can't deliver.

If you want to take your chances with Big-O, get the total final price before ordering. Be prepared to wait several weeks no matter what they tell you on delivery. Don't bring your car in till someone says they have personally seen your tires/wheels and will physically put your name on them to hold them. Drop your car off first thing in the morning and plan to pick it up when they close. Accept that the car may still not have new tires/wheels for any number of reasons and you will have to come back again. Maybe several times.

During our next snow storm, I was having trouble with too much snow building up behind the tires, and when I went to kick off the build up snow, I noticed part of my mud flaps were missing which allowed for the snow to build up inside the frame of the car. I called Big-O and told them that my mud flaps were missing and they got very defensive, told me their employees don't steal (which I'd actually been warned about at this particular location), and that there was nothing they would do about it. He was very helpful the whole time and made me feel like a valued customer. Do not do business with Big O in American Fork without getting a second opinion! I recently had a slow leak in one of the tires I had bought from them. I asked my 82 year old father to take it to them for repair because I was working. They told my father that it was unserviceable and that I had not bought the warranty with the tires and also since it was an all wheel drive I would need to purchase all four tires. That evening I went to Discount tire in Lehi and bought four new tires.

When I came to pick up the car I asked him how bad that the tire was that was unserviceable, then Joe went out and brought that tire in and after looking at it, he said that tire had a small screw in the tread and was very serviceable and that all tires still had between 50 and 60 percent wear left on them. I called Big O the next day and talked to the store manager and after looking up my account he said I did have a warranty on them but that it would only replace the one tire. I told them what Joe and I had determined on the tires and he said he would possibly go over and look at it. That's all that was said and no response after that.

I filed a complaint with the BBB on them, but so far have not been contacted by them. This store was originally operated by Parley Holliday and you couldn't have asked for a better guy to do business with. NOT NOW! A few days ago we got a nail in a trailer tire in Price and we went to Les Schwab tire and they repaired the tire and refused to accept any money for the repair even though I had not purchased that tire from them. The only reason I am giving them a star is that there isn't a lower rating on the satisfaction index for a no star.

UPDATE: No change; Same as before! Don't expect integrity from the AMERICAN FORK store since the new management under JOHNNY is way lacking. We gave him every opportunity to take the supposedly bad tire for inspection, but it did not happen. He has a sign showing them to be a member of the Better Business Bureau; however did not submit to their request to take the matter to a mediator for review. Maybe they think the matter will go away on its own, but they must not realize how many people that will not do business with the AMERICAN FORK store. It might not seem like much, but over time it will be a lot and if I have my way it will be a lot more. You might cheat me, but when you cheat my father, then it becomes very personal.

The employees working on the car, I asked to inflate the tires prior to balancing and they did so with a little persuasion. Upon installing the tires, they used an air gun on the car that required only 76 pounds of torque to tighten the wheels. They then used a click Stop torque wrench and forced it way beyond where the click was. I ended up taking it to another shop and have the tires loosened and which were WAY over tightened and retorqued to the proper torque. This is a tire shop after all and they should know how to install tires, but apparently, they don't. They need additional training. I would not recommend taking your car there to have tire work done or they might break something else that requires proper torque.

I took my daughter's 2005 Ford Escape in for a simple tire rotation as part of the Lifetime Rotation Service from purchasing 4 tires. They took 2+hours to rotate 4 tires (really?). Then 60 days to the day later - one of the tires FELL OFF because they improperly put the lug bolts on and they loosened and fell off. Luckily my daughter was in a residential area and going slow - or she could have suffered much more damage or injury! They keep shoddy records and can't find me in the system (total BS if you ask me). I've only been rotating those tires every 5,000 miles exactly since November 2011. How "convenient" on their end that they lost my customer data after 3 years. It's only a $200 repair - but it's the principle. I hope like heck my daughter has the service ticket so I can go in person AGAIN and show them how badly they SUCK!

Took my daughter's 2003 Subaru to Big O Tires at Lindsey & Warner in Gilbert Az. for a front end alignment. Later they contacted me and said the rear control arms were shot and couldn't be aligned before those were fixed. $1600 for parts & labor. I told them to hold off and I would repair it and bring back for alignment. Took car home, was not control arms at all but 4 simple bushings. 2 hours, hammer, chisel, block of wood and it was fixed. They wanted 6hrs labor at $100 an hour just to replace the control arms. They never said anything about the "bubble" on the right front tire that covered a quarter way around. Brought this to David's attention (salesman at Big O), he wanted to argue that I replaced a lot more parts than what I was admitting to. I left the store before I let my temper go, went across the block and let Discount Tire put on 2 front tires & alignment. I would not go back to Big O Tires even for warranty because they want to argue it's your fault the tire failed.

On 04/18/2014 I took my 98 Subaru forester to Big O Tires on Nevada in Colorado Springs. I was requesting that they look at my front and back brakes. They checked my car and offered a free tire rotation and that they would check the condition of the brakes for possible replacement. I waited for at least an hour before I was informed that my brakes were in good condition in the front and back. They were wore down to 50 percent and still and some time. They gave me a free tire rotation. I was on my way to Ft. Collins Colorado which was a 2 hour drive from the springs.

When I got to Denver I heard rattling in the back of my car, I drove to a friends house and did not smell any burning. Then I got back on the road and drove maybe 4 miles from his house and heard major clanking noise and smelt burning I could no longer drive. I had the car towed back to my friends house and was told the next day that my drums on the back were destroyed and somewhat melted, the brake pads were in bad shape, the spring busted and the wheel cylinder was broken as well as the shoes. It cost me $320 to have the car repaired.

I don't know what Big O was doing with the car the previous day before I left but this situation was very bad. Please do not take your car the Big O tires for brakes or anything. Please take warning and learn that just because they give you a receipt and say you are in good shape does not mean they are being legitimate about what they are telling you.

I was quoted a price of $394.00 that was supposed to include the above mentioned tires, installation and road hazard warranty. The price was slightly more than their competitors for the same type of tire but I agreed since they were close and could have them installed that day. The tires were installed and I went to pay, gave them my card which they ran and stupid me, I took them at their word for the $394.00 price I was quoted. I got my bank statement and a charge for $493.10 appeared, so I looked inside the envelope they handed me and sure enough they charged me $100.00 to install 2 tires and I have no road hazard warranty. I must admit I know better and should have checked everything out before even having the tires installed when I arrived at the shop, so this is clearly my mistake and I just would like to warn others of their price misquoting and to be sure that you do not take them at their word as I did and make sure you get a quote from Big O Tires in writing before any work at all is done if you choose to do business with them. I bought 4 new tires in March at Big O Tires. I'm a longtime customer in Tucson and have been to many stores in Mesa. I was replacing tires I bought less than 2 years before so this time I insisted on a warranty. I was a single mom without a home at the moment and I shopped for the best deal. They offered me tires with a 4yr/40k warranty and told me an hour and a half to mount, balance and do alignment. Hours later, when I needed to pick up my kids and had no way to do it, I was in tears and pleaded with them to just let me have my car and I could bring it back to finish it but they wouldn't. I took the car in for an oil change at the dealership and they said to get the tires rotated before my next oil change.

Last week, at 60% oil life remaining, I took it in and they told me they can't rotate them because the alignment has been too bad. I went into Big O and they blew me off so I emailed them. I got a call the next day. The store it was assigned to was passing it to the original store. A week later, I called Corporate to check and they escalated it. I got a call back from an area manager who told me I got 30k out of the tires already and that was pretty good. I informed him I got maybe 10k and the tires look worn all over the tire, not just in one spot and he said, "Well, alignments can go out of whack as soon as you leave the parking lot," and he said there was no way to warranty such a thing and I should have gotten the alignment done every 3k miles and it was the dealer's fault. I noticed that not ever once in any dealing was there any apology for the incident stranding my children.

I went back later the same day with them squeaking worse. They said they had inspected them and that their mechanic said they were good and that maybe there was some sand in the pads. They recommended that I hose the brakes off to wash any dirt out. I took the car to a different repair shop the following day and found the front pads were worn to the squeal part and the rear were not far behind. I took the old pads back to Big O to show them what they missed. They said they would need to better train their mechanic.

We took our truck in for repair because we were told that the location in Boulder City, NV had a "master" mechanic. We authorized numerous repairs that they recommended believing that their recommendations would solve the problem. We picked up the truck and discovered that the truck was worse than when we brought it in originally. We took it back. They kept our truck for several weeks and then told us that the problem was in the transmission and that they did not work on transmissions. I spoke to the manager at Big O regarding the work that had been performed. I stated that the mechanics replaced parts that had nothing to do with the problem. I stated that the truck was old and could probably use all new parts but the criteria for part replacement needed to focus on the problem.

The manager then told me that he was new to the store and that he had replaced all but one of the mechanics. He suggested that I return the truck so that his new crew could fix it. I told him I did not have any confidence with his crew and that I was going elsewhere. We took our truck to another repair facility in Boulder City. They diagnosed the problem and repaired it in one day for under $500.00. I filed a complaint with Big O for a refund but we were denied any consideration for the work done. What Big O did had nothing to do with the problem our truck was exhibiting. Their "master " mechanic was not knowledgeable and was not able to properly determine what was causing the truck's problem.

When I drove the car, I noticed it was pulling to the left, so I brought the car back the next day and waited another hour and a half to get the car in. When the car was ready, I drove home and noticed that it still pulled to the left. So I brought it back for the third time and this time I "got an attitude" from the manager. After another hour's wait, they gave me the car and I test drove it - it appeared to still pull to the right, but I was late for a meeting and didn't want to have to wait another hour.

Two days later, I drove the car from Vail to Denver (120 miles) and had Lexus look at it. Lexus corrected the problem (3 of the 4 wheels were out of alignment) and drove back home. Considering the cost, the attitude and the fact that Big-O couldn't get the alignment right after three tries, they've lost my business forever. This was poor service and poor attitude.

This is for everyone else to decide whether I got great service or not. On 8/30/2012, I had taken my car because the brakes didn't feel right. I had new brake pads, rotors and calipers put on costing a total of $466.07. I took it back because it still didn't feel right on 9/06/2012 and had to have new brake hoses put on. That was free under warranty from above. On 9/13/2012 I had both outer tie rod end replaced for $194.35. Then on 10/16/2012, I was back up there. The driver's side axle and front spindle needed to be replaced. So after spending $1,191.52 on front end of the car, I thought finally! The car should stop on a dime and spit out 5 cents!

Then on 12/30/2012, driving down the road, a car came into my lane! I hit my brakes only doing 50mph. The car jerked to the right, putting into a ditch. Luckily no one else was hurt, but my back had an L2 compression fracture. The impact tore out the drive shaft of the car. Needless to say, I have been trying to find a lawyer who will take the case. It has been unsuccessful! Needless to say I had to total out the vehicle for the simple fact that I could pay to store and bills while unable to work. My life has been turned upside down because I believe they didn't do something right. To see the commercials on TV how Big O is good karma for your car makes me sick to my stomach. It didn't give me nor my car good karma did it? I had never had that kind of trouble out of that car until I took it there!

My back still hurts and on top of everything, I have no car and have to depend on other people. Put them out because I feel the people who fixed my car didn't fix it at all! Someone please help me! I feel I have been done a big injustice by this company. All I have are the invoices from the repair work they've done to my car. If this keeps someone else safe, then that's great! I will never trust Big O tires again! I will never recommend them anyone ever! Thanks for reading.

So, I left my car with them last Saturday and went for a stroll in the nearby strip mall. I received a call on my cell about 45 minutes later telling me they only found one thing wrong and I needed to hurry back and they would show me the problem. So I headed back, and Ray told me to come into the shop where they have my car up on the rack. Another guy grabbed my left rear tire and started pushing and pulling it back and forth and telling me, "Look how much play there is." I'm told that it's a bad left rear hub assembly and I better get it replaced immediately. They warned me about how awful it would become if I didn't do something right away. There was a real sense of urgency from both of them.

Ray then said that the part would run about $600 and the labor about $125. I immediately went home to the computer to look up the hub assembly part. I found a Suzuki, my make, factory parts website. I gave them a call. They quoted me $277 for the part. I called Big O and asked if they would install a part that I ordered online. Oh no, we can't do that. Okay. Next day, I went to get a second opinion at a friend's shop specializing in front and rear-end stuff. Okay, so this is like my 4th time in taking my car here and I don't know why I went back this last time. I guess for the benefit of the doubt, another chance kind of thing like God would do. So the last time, I told them to not roll down my windows because they are broken, to keep the car parked in neutral and to just drop the hood down and don't push on it. Over and over, I told them and wrote it down for them. But what happened? There was a dent on my hood because they pushed it down and this was the second time they did this. They rolled down my windows. They drove my car 20 miles wasting gas. They did not park it in neutral with the parking brake on.

It is common sense to off first to drop the hood and not push down on it. Common sense! Common sense to park the car in neutral with parking brake on. Common sense not to touch the AC or the radio. But what did they do? The first time they messed with my system that I invested more than $1,000 in. I was so angry with these men. They also put oil all over and never cleaned up their mess in the vehicle. I was watching them worked on my car to figure out why the front end was shaking. It took 4 guys under my car, 35 minutes and still they could not figure it out. They were dumb and knew nothing about cars and respect of people's livelihoods. Our hard earned money went into these cars. Then they told me my tires were coming apart and I really went fully bored on this. Telling me I need all new tires when I had just bought these tires months ago. They were saying the same thing to the women who came in next to me. Back in 2007, I needed tires so I purchased a set of the Big O Tires, Bigfoot 235 75 15s from a local Big O Tires store. They were close to a job that I was on, for a Ford E-150 van. I really don't spend a lot of time looking at my tires (I will now) and let the technician at my local auto shop worry about the air pressure. This is a light duty vehicle that I use as a materials truck (pick up and deliver materials to my jobs).

Anyhow, yesterday, I heard what sounded like air hissing next to a rear tire. Upon inspection, I realized that the upper side wall of the tire had simply cracked and air was leaking through. Upon closer inspection, I almost fell over when I saw that the lower side wall was actually coming completely apart and the tread was decomposing. Needless to say, I inspected the other three tires and found one other tire with decomposing tread and the side wall falling off, and two tires that were just rotted. I also noticed that the tires that I had purchased in 2007 were date stamped from 2003, 2004, and 2005. I was purchasing a four-year-old tire as a new tire, meaning that I could expect (on average) another three years of life. No wonder they were falling apart.

So now, I called a Big O Tires store a few minutes from my office and asked them if this was normal. The response was as follows: "Tires only have a serviceable life of 7 years; your tires are out of warranty (this was due to the date stamped on the tire)." When I questioned this response by saying that I purchased two-, three-, and four-year-old tires as new from one of their stores just under 7 years ago, the response was ... Like I said, the statement was repeated. At this point, I questioned the safety of the tires that they are selling, and argued that regardless of his response, these tires are lethal. I was at this point informed, by the the person on the phone, that I could always file a complaint with the Dept. of Consumer Affairs if I was not satisfied with his answers. Woo hoo, now that's service ...

In the end, I visited America's Tire Company (my other work and personal vehicles tires were all purchased here) and had a set of Hankooks installed, no more Big O Tires brand for any of my vehicles. Funny thing, while I was purchasing tires at America's Tire, the salesman mentioned that my tires were most likely on one of the numerous recalls that Big O Tires has had over the past decade or so, and that I could probably get them replaced. My response was, "These are Big O Tires. What will they replace them with, the same tires?" The salesman laughed and replied, "I get your point, let's get you some tires that won't fall apart on you."

So, if you've had good experiences with Big O Tires, kudos. Just remember that the tires you like so much today could kill you tomorrow. On a positive note, you'll die happy. Cheers.

To make a long story short, the family (including mother-in-law) has spent well over a thousand or two (probably more) in services from the Show Low, AZ Big O store. The store is really good in replacing defective tires from road hazards. I spent over $900.00 on four truck tire last April and received a mail-in rebate for $75.00. I sent it off right away, never received the rebate and the rebate company and manager at the tire shop could not help, must have gotten lost. I was out of luck (without much sympathy from either). All I can say is don't expect much support with your rebates and please send them off certified!

I had been going to Big-O for around 4 years and had all my private and company vehicles’ tires purchased at this location, and had agreed to a 10% Corporate discount. We moved our business to a larger location around 5 miles from our previous location and never really established a relationship with any local tire company.

I decided 3 weeks ago to tell my people to start bringing our truck fleet tires and our company vehicles (was only 3 and now 9) back to Big-O. Both my wife and I headed out on a Saturday morning to get her 2 new tires and get a leaking tire fixed on my car. We arrived and went inside to get a salesperson and ** greeted us. I brought him out to my wife’s vehicle and showed him the tires we wanted replaced. To my surprise, they were really worn. He then went to the back 2 tires and said, "Oh, these need replacing as well." I looked at them and there was plenty of tread but there was a little cracking along the wall.

I told him that we will look at these the next time we came by and he commented, "If it was my family in the car, then I would change them for their safety." What a comforting comment for my wife and our 3 kids. It sounded like he hoped we did have an accident to prove his expertise. I told him that I work in the car industry and those tires are fine for another 5k miles at least. He shook his head whilst I then brought him over to my car and showed him the tire that needed repair. He then said, "If I were you, I would just replace all 4 tires on both cars."

By this time my wife was questioning whether or not it was even safe to step in the car with both our tires' conditions. I proceeded to tell him that I wanted 2 tires to be replaced on my wife’s car and 2 on the back of my car since 1 was damaged beyond repair and that required 2 new tires. We went back inside. I was already steaming at this point, and mentioned that we had a Corporate discount. He said, "I don’t think so," and then looked up our account and said, "The last time you bought tires was 2009, so sorry, no discount." He refused to take a look at the previous bills, where the discount was clearly stated. I told him that he should not be dealing with the public and left the store.

We went to America’s Tire and without mentioning my previous incident, asked about my wife’s tires and he said, “They are fine. You only need 2 on the back and 2 for your car.” Ooops. We have been loyal Big O customers for 10 years and have bought several full sets of tires at the Mae Anne Avenue store in Reno, NV. We have also had all car maintenance for four different cars done at this store over the same amount of time. Over 10 years, we've probably spent in excess of $7,500 at this store. We bought a tire at the Mae Anne Avenue (Reno, NV) Big O tires shop on 9/6/12 that supposedly was covered for the life of the tire. Their flat repair policy says that a tire will be repaired if a repair is possible or replaced if it cannot be repaired. Nothing was stated at the time of purchase indicating that this guarantee applies only to their store brand tires.

On 9/28/12, the tire failed due to a road hazard. There was a pinch in the side wall of the tire near the rim that the employees insisted was road hazard damage. Perhaps it was. Things happen. Understandably, sidewall damage is not repairable. Perhaps naively, I assumed they would replace the tire. This is when things got bad. ** (sales rep) and ** (manager) insisted that while their Big O tires are covered for such events, this tire (Goodyear) was not. I asked them to show me a place in writing where it was stated that their coverage only applied to store brand tires. They could not because it does not exist! Incidentally, since I was buying only one tire at the time the tire was purchased, I was not offered the road hazard protection that they generally try to pawn off on every person who walks through the door.

The manager (**) basically called me a liar when I told him that I would have purchased the protection had it been offered. It just got better from there. Apparently, in the three weeks that elapsed between purchasing the first tire and a replacement, the price doubled. The original $120 tire was now $250. We'll be taking our (now) five cars up the road for future service. Upon visiting the tire shop across the street, they chuckled when I told them the story and stated that they get several people a week into their shop with the same experience. Big-O definitely won't get my next $5,000 worth of service dollars! In fact, they won't receive another red cent from me or anybody in my family.

I called a Big O Tire store asking if they had a used 215/65/16 in stock. The person on the phone said, "no but we have plenty of 225/65/16." I let him know that's too wide for my car and this is where I began to learn what type of people work for Big O Tires. He said to me, "you mean too tall; 225/65/16 are taller than 215/65/16." I corrected him by saying, "I think you're confused because the first number indicates width." He became angry with me and said, "I've been in the business 40 years." I said, "All that tells me is you've been incorrect for 40 years." He then decided to hang up the phone.

I called back and asked for the manager. I really believed that the person that hung the phone up on me was just a worker that didn't have a clue about how to do his job. Well, the owner jumps on the phone and says, "I'm the owner and I was talking to you." I figured I would be informing a manager that his worker didn't have a clue about tires. I didn't know it would be the owner that didn't have a clue. This being said, I let him know I would be informing Big O corporate about this. I asked for his name; he stated, "Carl." He then felt a need to brag about how he already knew my complaint would fall on deaf ears. He proceeded to say that if I had any more issues, I can come up to the store.

I completely took it as a threat since the tire size I was looking for was not in stock. I ended the conversation and called corporate. I was speaking with a lady named Ellen when I realized Carl was right about my complaint falling on deaf ears. Ellen wanted to laugh at my complaint and show me how unprofessional someone can be in an upsetting situation. After she showed me her colors, I asked for a superior to which she stated, "I am my superior." I repeated what she just told me and she began to laugh once again. I was told I would receive a phone call from an area manager as well as a district manager. I'm still waiting. I believe I'm in need of a written apology from the store owner.

I told the owner that I did not want the old useless tires anymore, and he said it does not include dismounting the old tires and disposal. He was very rude. He told me I did not mention disposing the old tires. Everything was understood and all price would be included.

I looked at the pile of old tires and wheels on the back of my truck, and I was thinking "Do I really need to tell you that I don't want them anymore? Do you expect me to dismount the tires myself and throw away the tires in my backyard." Anyway, he said he wanted $40 more, and I said, "I do it somewhere else." I drove away with all the junk on the back of my truck, and I was pissed! Normally, I'm a Costco customer, but they no longer have the size of the tires which I need.

They used Road Force equipment and discovered that the tires had a wobble and couldn't be balanced. We had to buy 4 new tires so we could get home.

Today, we took the tires back to Big O for a refund since they had less than 20 miles on them and were defective. Big O will not refund any of our money because they are saying the tires are used! They won't even read the detailed description and printout from the Dodge dealer. Don’t buy tires at Big O. This time however, I went, dropped off my car and came back to a broken stud in the hub, two lug nuts, and 1/2 bolt that wasn't even the same tread size as the original lug nuts. Driving my car home, I noticed a violent shake and rattle in the steering wheel. I got home to find that I could loosen the 1/2 inch bolt with my bare hands and that it was on the front right passenger side of the vehicle (front wheel drive). Being that my safety was on the line, I stopped driving my car and had to tag a lug nut off the back and put it on the front. I called Big O the next day to tell them my situation and the management took no notice and told me it was a wearable item. I had a second opinion from three different companies. They all told me they would not have let me leave their store in that type of condition (safety hazard). So I went back to Big O Tires and asked to talk to the owner. Besides the inconvenience and aggravation of unpaid time off of work, the corporate office, a guy named ** with the office of the president, consumer relations department, stated they were not going to offer any compensation or had no interest in offering a resolution to have the noise diagnosed or fixed, other than doing the same thing that had already been done - replace more struts. I have photos of these pieces stuck throughout the whole engine. That is a huge fire hazard. Do they know that engines get hot? Since they had three chances to resolve/fix the problem, and by law in Colorado, consumers have the right to file a claim in SCC and sue for three times the amount, I will pursue this. They had no expiration dates on them, and were valid for lifetime until used. I have used it in the past exclusively at this location (their computer records confirmed this) with no problems. And I even had a sticker put on my book listing their address. On 4/29/12, I went in for an oil change and produced my coupon book to the guy behind the counter.

An employee was next to him and said under his breath, “Ohh, it's one of those ** coupons again,” and the guy behind the counter told me they don't accept them anymore. I paid for these and I want to use them.” I told them to look up my records on their computer and it showed that I had been there in the past using these coupons and I showed them the sticker, but they didn't care. They didn't want to help me, reimburse me or offer any other deals to replace this so-called counterfeit issue.

Truth is, I believe this counterfeit thing is just made up, and what they really didn't want to do was honor the coupons because they were losing too much money on them. Either way, the bottom line is this: I had legal coupons made exclusively for Big O that had not expired. I had paid for them. Big O just suddenly decided to not accept them, screwing their customers. Big O has a lying business practice, they don't live up to their promises, and they do not honor their own coupons. I called a local (Colorado Springs) Big O Tires store and described the problem I was having with a Jeep. It was a violent shaking coming from the front of the Jeep after traveling over a bump in the road or highway. The Big O Tire service attendant told me the problem is called "death wobble" and they could fix it. This was in Sept 2011. I took the Jeep to their repair shop and after their inspection, they told me the problem is the "drag link" of the Jeep's suspension. They estimated the cost to repair was $350 to replace the drag link and stabilizer. Several months later, the same "death wobble" returned while on I-70 in the Colorado mountains. Scary! I called Big O Tires to report the problem the following day and told them the problem was not fixed. The service attendant asked me to bring the Jeep back in and they would look at it again. Their diagnosis was the tires were out of balance causing the "death wobble", so they balanced the tires at no cost.

Recently in March 6, months later from the original repair, my wife and I were traveling on I-25 in Colorado Springs during the weekend when we encountered a bump on the highway that caused the "death wobble" once again. We had to stop in the middle of the interstate to stop the violent shaking. We were scared to death! I called Big O Tires once again and told them we still were experiencing the "death wobble" and wanted it fixed once and for all. I took the Jeep to their shop on Monday morning and was told they would replace the drag link at no cost to me and install front and rear shocks at material cost only. We agreed to the latest resolve of the Jeep's issues.

After research and inspection of the Jeep's front end parts, I found that the "drag link" was never replaced as originally stated by Big O Tires, but I did see that the "track bar" has been replaced after the third visit. Big O Tires also recommended to replace the shocks and it would cost $362 excluding labor. As I researched more, the shocks Big O Tires installed cost $40 each online, but they charged me $83 per shock. That sounds like gouging to me regarding the shocks and a company that can't diagnose a suspension problem and keep you coming back to charge you more money!

My 7 month old truck was scratched due to the negligence of agents or employees at Big O Tires Store #005236 (on Parkmoor Avenue in San Jose, CA) on January 21, 2012. Someone had placed a sign in the street (in violation of the city sign ordinance) where it was hidden from the view of drivers exiting a common parking lot shared by other businesses. (It was hidden by a fat post.) When I turned right out of the parking lot, I heard something scratch the side of my truck. I had no idea what I had hit, since I hadn't seen the sign beforehand. But once I pulled over, I found the sign lying in the street.

When I spoke with a man who later identified himself as the store manager, he showed no concern for my truck. He removed the sign from the street before I could think to take a picture of it, though I did take a picture before he threw it in the Dumpster. I repeatedly asked him to look at the scratches on my truck, but he refused to do so.

When I complained to corporate, I received one phone call from a rude man named Chuck who said that Big O Tires would not pay for my damage. He refused to have anyone inspect my damage. He refused to forward my concerns to the legal department. He refused to answer any further correspondence.

The store owner never responded to any form of communication from me or anyone acting on my behalf. The same is true of TBC Corporation, the parent company of Big O Tires.

After numerous attempts to contact the Big O Tires corporate offices, I finally got a response via the Better Business Bureau. In that response, Barbara ** from Big O Tires customer relations revealed that the store owner, Emad Saidawi, lied to her about the incident. He claimed that his sign was properly on a grassy area, not in the street. But I have photographic evidence proving that he lied. The only grassy area is far from the area where my truck was hit and is both elevated and protected by a curb. There's no way I could have hit a sign in that location unless I drove up over the curb onto the grass and the sidewalk beyond.

I made numerous attempts to contact Big O Tires to refute the lie. Emad Saidawi, owner of the store Parkmoor Avenue in San Jose, California, refused to respond to anything. This morning, I got a call from someone in the legal department who told me additional lies. She claimed that the sign had been "dragged into the street". Of course, that's not true. But she as much as admitted liability with that statement, because even if her fictionalized account were true, the sign could only have been dragged into the street if it were already in a normal path of travel. So Big O Tires has compounded one lie with another, each of which is easily disproved.

The woman from the legal department refused to look at the photographic evidence already in her possession. She refused to listen to me. She just kept talking over me, no matter how many times I asked her to listen. She deliberately provoked me to anger. Then when I got angry with her for refusing to stop talking over me and refusing to listen, she hung up and wouldn't respond to any further efforts on my part to reach Big O Tires. This woman from the legal department refused to listen to truth, reason, or logic and just kept pushing a story that had no basis in fact.

Big O Tires and its parent company, TBC Corporation, allow their agents and employees to break the law and intentionally and negligently endanger life and property. And when their agents and employees consequently harm innocent victims, Big O Tires and TBC Corporation refuse to properly investigate, refuse to communicate openly and honestly with the victims and refuse to pay for the damages they cause.

They took me in the back to show me and said it would be around $300 more to fix this. So they didn't fix anything but they still charged me $135.83.

I went to the Big O Tires located at Lake Mead and Civic Center in North Las Vegas. I asked to replace front brake pads and to resurface my front discs on my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. My estimate was $191.00. When they opened my brakes, they discovered they could not resurface my discs because they were too thin. At this point, there was no use replacing the pads because the discs had grooves on them.

However, they still went ahead and replaced my brake pads knowing this is wrong. Any layman knows unless you make the surface of the discs smooth, the new brake pads will wear out quickly. The mechanics had my cell number and I was nearby having lunch. They did not call me to check with me. Later, they offered to replace both front discs and they offered to pay for one of them. I refused because I had lost confidence in them. If I don't get a full refund, I intend to file a small claim against the branch and the corporate office.

I had originally purchased 4 new tires from Big O on both my vehicles. My car had a nail in the side wall, and they replaced it. It was great! Then, during a snowstorm, my car had a flat tire, not even 1/2 block from their store. I drove (slid) down the street, to turn into their center to get it looked at, and they told me I needed another new tire, as this one had "melted", and they were not honoring the warranty, as I drove on it in front of their store! Well if my tire "melted", wouldn't that be a defective tire?

They had already put my spare doughnut on, which they took out of the back of my car, and threw the Christmas gifts I had in the back seat all over the place, breaking two of the gifts! They tried to sell me 4 new tires! They gave me a line saying I needed 4, as I was AWD. I spoke to other places, and a mechanic, and he said I really only needed 2, if the treads were not the same! When I brought this up to the rep, he got quite rude, and told me he would sell me 2 tires for over $200.00! I went elsewhere, and bought 2 new tires (better than what I had mind you) mounted and balanced for $120.00! I will never shop again at Big O, nor will I recommend them!

My seven-month old truck was scratched due to the negligence of agents or employees at Big O Tires store #005236 (on Parkmoor Avenue in San Jose, CA) on January 21, 2012. Someone had placed a sign in the street where it was hidden from the view of drivers exiting a common parking lot shared by other businesses. (It was hidden by a fat post. ) When I turned right out of the parking lot, I heard something scratch the side of my truck. I had no idea what I had hit since I hadn't seen the sign beforehand. But once I pulled over, I found the sign lying in the street.

When I spoke with a man who later identified himself as the store manager, he showed no concern for my truck. He removed the sign from the street before I could think to take a picture of it, though I did take a picture before he thew it in the dumpster. I repeatedly asked him to look at the scratches on my truck but he refused to do so. When I complained to corporate, I received one phone call from a rude man named Chuck who said that Big O Tires would not pay for my damage. He refused to have anyone inspect my damage. He refused to forward my concerns to the legal department. He refused to answer any further correspondence.

It will cost me about $1300 to repair the damage to my truck caused by the negligence of agents or employees of Big O Tires. That sign was in the street in violation of the City of San Jose's sign ordinance. Big O Tires is just fortunate that no one was killed or injured since the placement of the sign in the street would have forced a bicyclist to swerve around it, potentially into the path of a vehicle.

The Big O Tires store on Colfax and Grape on 12/26/11 told me I destroyed my car but they could recover it by doing gaskets and cylinder head work and the charge would be $2,670.20, nearly 3,000.00. Since Ken, the owner that I trusted for years was not readily available, I declined the work but asked for the paperwork showing work and charges, generated from their computer it was given to me by Tu **.

The experience made me do research. I was told the kind of work Kens store said they would do was against Big O Tires franchise policy agreement and the company website did not list that kind of work as one of their services. The next day, I called smiling, told polite Ken about it and he said he did not know what I was talking about and hung up the phone.

In the first week of January 2012, using Big O Tires email, I asked if they did the work I was quoted. Their process was to forward the email to the closest store and that was how Ken ended up calling me a couple of days later, leaving a message stating don't do cylinder head and gaskets. Had I agreed to their proposal Big O Tires on Colfax and Grape would have stolen nearly $3,000.00 from me and of course no work would have been done to save my destroyed car.

January 9th I spoke to a company agent and was told Ken informed them he called me to say they did not do that kind of work, so no price was ever quoted to me as I claimed. Also, he could recommended another shop to do the work, and the price I took as a quote from his store Ken said he was really quoting a price if another shop did the work.

Oh. I responded that I have the computer generated documentation from Big O Tires on Colfax and Grape that list services to be performed and charges. Ken, of course, could not quote prices of another business. Ken only told the truth in a phone message to me because it went through the company. But in leaving a message now meant I had his recording admitting the truth plus paperwork from his store proving the potential theft, thus exposing his lies.

The representative, to my surprised, said, There was a potential of stealing you out of that money. I did not expect that kind of honesty. The agent told me Ken is an independent owner which means he can do whatever he wants. The company have no records whatsoever from the store and since Ken did not get to steal thousands of dollars despite his effort there was no harm. The company only mediates but they take no ownership in how a store treats the customers.

How bad must it get before Big O Tires, headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida become interested in how customers are treated? I will ask them.

On December 29, 2011, I experienced a blown tire on S/B Hwy 101 in Ventura, CA. Upon inspection, there was a 1/2 cut in the sidewall of the tire (unrepairable). The mileage at this time was 134,340 - the tire only had 7,250 miles on it! On January 12, 2012 I went into the Big-O Tire Store #5208, San Jose, CA to make a road hazard claim.

I drove the vehicle to the store, which at that time had 134,885 miles showing. The assistant manager initially told me that I could not receive any adjustment, since the tire was over 3 years old. I pointed out the adjustment policy printed on the reverse of the original receipt: “100% replacement within the first 3 years, prorated credit based upon use for the remaining life of the tread”. Then he advised me that I would have to return to the Big-O Tire store where I purchased to make a claim.

I pointed out the fold out brochure that listed all of the Big-O stores & affiliated chains where the warranty was valid. He then advised me that he'd have to get the original branch to authorize the claim. He telephoned them, after which he advised me that he'd have to forward the tire to the original store for inspection. In the meantime, he'd gladly sell me a tire, until the credit was determined. This time I pointed out the adjustment policy on the reverse of the original receipt. Since the tire still had 80% of its usable tread remaining, I was entitled to a 80% discount off of the same tires current price.

The assistant manager stated that he didn't know how to do an adjustment like that, though he had worked for Big-O for 4 years. He would have to have his manager inspect the tire & call me later. I agreed to leave the tire for the managers inspection. Later in the day, I received a call from the manager. He stated that the only credit that he could provide me was $28, since the 3-year protection policy had expired. I explained to him, that after the expiration of the 3 years, that I was entitled to a credit equal to the percentage of useable tread remaining.

Since the remaining tread had 80% of its legal depth remaining, I was entitled to the replacement tire at 80% off of the current price (plus taxes, remounting & balancing). The manager offered to provide me with a credit equal to the warranty purchase price ($50). I again explained that I was entitled to a 80% credit off of the tires current price. The manager stated that he could only provide me with a credit equal to 80% of what I initially paid for the tire. Though this was in direct conflict with the printed warranty terms, I agreed, as I needed to have the tire repaired.

On January 13, 2012 I drove to the store to collect my new tire. The manager had the invoice prepared, providing me with a $60 discount. I performed the calculations in front of him, & even read the warranty to him. I wrote the correct adjustment figures upon the estimate form, that he insisted I sign, before generating my final invoice. At this point I offered to pay the full price for the replacement tire, and retain ownership of the damaged tire. He refused to make the proper credit, or allow me to keep the defective tire. Instead, he offered to increase the credit adjustment to $70.

Though I threatened to report Big-O Tires to the CBAR (CA Bureau of Automotive Repairs) and the Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office Consumers Affairs division, he was unwavering in insisting that I was not entitled to a percentage credit off the current price (though it is clearly stated in the warranty terms). When I told him that I was upset because on the phone the day prior, he initially denied my warranty, then offered $28, he stated, “You must have misunderstood me. Everyone misunderstands me because of my accent.”

I told him that we talked for 20 minutes, and at no time did I experience a language barrier. I clearly understood his scam under pay the customer & make a full warranty claim to the corporation, pocketing the difference. The original price per tire: $94.98 and 80% discount of original price: $18.99. So the current tire price: $119.99 and 80% discount of current price: $24.00. I should have received a $96 credit toward the replacement tire, instead of the gracious $70 discount provided.

I paid Big-O tires for an extended warranty, to be honored across the country. This store attempted everything possible to avoid providing the credit adjustment to which I am entitled. They tried to deny the claim because the 3-year term had expired. They tried to make me drive 90 minutes to the original store. They attempted to take the tire & submit it for inspection. They denied the claim again, since 3+ years had elapsed. They offered a token credit ($28), and when pressed offered a credit equal to the warranty cost. After much pressure they eventually raised the credit to $60, then to $70.

My wife went to pay and they added an optional $79 for roadside service without informing her or giving an option.

We took our truck home, 1,000 miles, stored it, then took it to Montana 6 mos. later. On the way, we had the tires rotated at Big O in Rock Springs, Wy. We then returned home to Tucson and my wife saw a knot in a tire. I took it to Big O here and they said it was bad and they would warranty it. I went home while the tire was ordered and noticed a knot in another tire. I called the Big O here and they said I'd have to deal with the Big O where I bought the tires, in Frisco, Colorado! I called Frisco and got Raul, the assistant mgr. Before we got far, Raul told me he knew that the problem was that I'd either under-inflated the tires or hit something! He was wrong on both counts. I took the car back to Big O Tucson, they pulled all the tires and guess what, they were all ready to blow!

Big O has been getting my business over the last 10 Years. Anyway, my wife's car was due for new tires with original tires having about 43k on them. The car has custom rims on them whereby you need an allen wrench to remove the lug nut cover. Once the car was ready for pickup, I paid for the tires and drove the car all of 1.5 miles home. Upon getting home, I noticed one of the custom wheel lug nut cover was missing so I returned to the store to request it.

The manager said he would look for it and came back within minutes and said it must of fallen off while driving home. I made the point that it had never fallen off for the past 43k miles why would it fall off in the past 1.5 miles? He argued that he did not know but that the service shop had cameras and he would examine the film. Again, he returned minutes later and said the film showed that the workman put all 4 covers on. I said, "Okay, let me see the film," and that is when my respect and all my future business was going elsewhere. He refused to show me the film, which immediately told me he had either lied about the cameras or had lied all together. After 10 years of loyal service, this manager was willing to risk losing me over a part that could not possibly cost more than $20. I work for Costco. Sometimes we have to outsource tires if they are discontinued in order to honor warranties. In that way, we can save money on not having to warranty out 2 tires. This place is an absolute flagrant rip-off. The Bridgestone Turanza el400 215/60r16, although discontinued, was $157.99 at Costco. The Big-O, however, charged us $238.99 for the same tire. Another tire, which I can’t remember the size, Bridgestone Turanza Serenity was $107.99 at Costco while Big-O charged us $174.99. I’m not trying to promote my work because I don’t make commissions so I personally don’t care if you go somewhere else but just don’t go here. I hate seeing injustices practiced like this. On another time, a lady came in after getting quoted around $550 for 2 SUV tires which are a Big-O Brand. Our Michelins, which are higher quality than Big-O, were $410. The bottom line is, this place rips people the hell off. I would like to know how they stay in business.

I rebuilt the entire front end of my 1960 Chevy Impala this summer. Every single part was put in new, along with two-inch drop spindles in front and disk brakes. I did the work myself. I have built hot rods for 30 years, and this car was hot-rodded in the early '60s and customized in the '90s. When I got it aligned, they said they could not get the steering wheel centered when going down the road, because the steering column bearings were shot. I knew they were bad, so accepted this reasoning without thinking it out. The guy at the counter said that when I got the bearings in, I could always run it back down and they could center the wheel for me. It would be no big deal. I said ok and took off.

The alignment seemed to be good, but the wheel, being off by a quarter turn, was a hassle. With my left arm on the arm rest, the normal gripping area was too far down. I ordered the steering column bearings and finally got a long weekend to install them. That was a difficult job, but I got it done and the steering was rock solid. I had tried to move the wheel a quarter turn from where I took it off in an attempt to center it. It was still off a good 1/8 turn. The bottom bearing has to be preloaded after the top bearing and wheel are on.

I was not going to take the wheel back off being that close, and take a chance of the top bearing popping back off. I ran it down to Big O Tires this morning to get the steering wheel centered. Luckily the same guy was there. However he said to do it, I would need a whole new alignment. I said, "No way. You mark the tie rod sleeves and turn both sides the same amount. I have done it before." He said no and that everything would be affected. I said again, "No, they won't. That is how you center the wheel." He said he would talk to his mechanic who comes in later about 20 minutes.

I thought, "Good. Someone who will know something." I then said, "To be fair, I could give you a couple bucks, but it doesn't need an alignment, and there is no way I want to pay for that. I mean, I just got it aligned, and it is good. You said that I could take it back and you would just center the wheel, remember?" He said, "Well, I will see what the mechanic says and will give you a call." I said ok and took off.

When he called me back a half hour later, he said they would do the alignment for half the price. I was so angry I just said, "I will take care of it myself." He said, "Ok, sir." I hung up.

As a customer who has bought tires at this location on numerous occasions (2 full sets), I went in for a routine air pressure check as the sign said free air pressure check etc. I wasn't informed there would be a charge for removing a nail therefore I wasn't able to choose whether or not to go ahead with the service. I was going to be gouged even more because I have 17" tires. I had a smug - 'have a nice day' goodbye, only because another customer walked in at just the right time (otherwise the rude factor would have been off the handle).

I definitely won't be back to this or any location for that matter. Also, one of the employees started smoking up right in the shop (right beside my car sitting on a tire and like no worries). I was charged without either authorization and basically extorted as I had no choice but to pay and deal with things later by taking my business elsewhere. Only consolation is that businesses like these will eventually come to nothing, as word of mouth and no-repeat customers are the coldest dish they will be served. They are rude, unprofessional and appalling!

We had some older Big O legacy tires on our Honda Odyssey minivan and one of them had a flat tire. Big O's policy is to repair flats, balance and rotate at no charge. We dropped the van off and an hour later, we got a call saying that it is ready--great! I asked if they had balanced the tire. They said no because we had not asked for it. When do you fix a flat and not balance a tire? We were always told to do that in high school auto shop.

Then, he said, "Well, we would need to put it back up on the rack and would need more time." But since he had the car on the rack, we might as well get new tires anyway, as the tire with the flat only had a few thousand miles left on it. I was able to confirm with him that the balancing is covered and would not require me to buy tires so I am not sure why them having to put the car on the rack would warrant buying new tires.

Then, I asked them to rotate the tires from front to back (this is a front wheel drive car). They replied with, "That is not necessary, you always keep the good tires on the back of the car." I said to him, "I have never heard of that. Front wheel drive cars wear tires in the front faster as that is where the turning, torque, and braking load happens." He disagreed with me. I said, "Well, I still want the tires rotated to the back," and he says, "okay, we will do that."

Later that day, I got a call from them saying that the car is ready but they did not rotate the tires due to a "tread issue," which was never elaborated on. I did not bother to ask why at this point as I was so frustrated with these people. I picked the car up and was told that I would need new tires in a few months when the rainy season comes.

The front office person showed me two sets of tires that would work (one that was too expensive and one that was too crappy). I told him I was going to look around and he said that they would match anyone's prices.

I went home to research some comparable items online and found a good middle ground tire. I printed the price and brought it back. In all ways, it matched the specs of their high-end model. Ryan was kind of nice and helpful, but the other guy working the desk was abrasive and a know-it-all. He said, "Oh, we could never match that price. We are already losing money on that tire every time we sell it." What a crock.

Ryan did find a comparable tire and said he could match the price I brought in, but it would take a day to get the tires to the store. So I made an appointment for the next day.

The following day, I walk in first thing in the morning to avoid the rush. Ryan and the other guy were both working the desk and, before Ryan could say anything, the other guy began a tirade about how the other tire that I priced it against was really $200 per tire more than the price listed and that...

It was more than I could bear. Clearly they weren't going to honor the price that we agreed upon the previous day. Clearly I had wasted an entire day waiting for them to get their act together. Clearly, I needed to go somewhere else for my tires.

I have always had good service at Big-O tires before this and was very disappointed how much of a difference the wrong person at the front desk could make. I walked into the middle of an argument between the supervisor, Manny, and one of the mechanics. The mechanic was arguing that he wasn't going to clean up all the other bays, just his. The technician in the sales floor, drinking the customer coffee said, "Go over there. He'll help."

They took the car and performed the service, and when I returned, the Supervisor, Manny, says, "You owe me $46". When I questioned the charge, he stated, "I don't know what to tell you man. I just punch in the code and it spits out the price." When I told him that all of my previous services, which were on my account, were $19.99, he stated, "That's why the old manager got booted because he was giving people the coupon all the time. I ain't going to lose my job over a coupon, 'ya know what I mean?"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing and proceeded to pick-up a card for the store manager so that I could address the issue with him. I took my keys and went out to my car, only to find that the technician didn't bother to cover the seat, floor, or wash his hands. There was oil all over my new light colored seats, floor mats, and on the gear shift and steering wheel.

I returned to the shop and told supervisor Manny about the mess and he stated, "I can't help you man. You need to come back and talk to the manager." I said, "Okay, just come out to the car and see the damage so you can see for yourself." He followed me to the car and looked at the mess. The supervisor began a curse laden rant about the, "** kid" who performed my service and that he has told him a thousand times about this stuff. His rant lasted about 4-5 minutes and at one point, he said the he wished the, ** kid was still here so that he could ** yell at him. Then he pronounced, "That's it. This kid is gone!"

At this point, I had had enough and left the facility. The next day, the manager of the shop called and apologized for the issue and told me to go to the car wash/detail shop next door, to his store and to have them call him to authorize the cleanup of the mess. So, I go in on Labor Day on Saturday morning, dropped the car off, and expected the problem to be resolved. The car wash calls me to advise that the manager at Big O Tires has refused to authorize the charges. I immediately call Big O Tires and the manager advises that he needs to submit paperwork to their corporate office and it will take 3-4 weeks to get the oily mess cleaned up.

Really? 3-4 weeks to process a check request? Long story short, Big O Tires will not get one more penny of my hard earned money!

Approximately 2 weeks ago, I took my car to have the oil changed. I told them to check out my car for I do a lot of driving with the job I have. They did my oil change. They told me I need to have some fluids replaced. I told them to do that. They charged me 117.00. They told me to come back as they needed to do something with my brake fluid. I'm not a car person so I went back on a Friday. I left my car there for 4 hours and came back. They said they never did anything to the car. They would do the brake fluid when I needed my brakes done probably in the fall.

The next day, I made a trip to Indianapolis to a funeral. My brake light came on. I was crunched for time and I was thinking everything was okay. I had just left the shop less than 24 hours before I went to funeral. I was coming back home when I realized I didn't have much brakes left. In fact, I got a ticket for speeding because I could not slow my car down. The next day, I took my car to a different repair shop. I had to have new brakes and pads, and my brake fluid was low. Then on next Monday, I went back to Big O. I told them the problem that I had. They acted like it was no big deal. I guess they never checked my breaks at all. And the owner told me you can drive on low brake fluid.

Um, no it doesn't over heat all the time, so I'm sure you're wrong). I told them, "I'm not paying that much just for you to fill the tank." He then told me, "Well, you will if you want us to fix it!" I told him to give me my keys and left.

I drove over to the other Big O, and they managed to fix it. They gave me attitude after finally fixing it, stating my coolant was low and thinking I'm stupid because the radiator cap was off and to the side. The attitude picked up even more when I said they needed to call the manager at the other Big O as they are the ones that did it. He told me "No, you can call them." For the record, the second Big O only charges 8.00 to fill the coolant tank.

Third Big O happened well before this. It's the one in Sandy, Utah. I took it there to fix a starting problem. They drove it around for a few hours and told me, "Good news! We got something to break, now pay us 170.00 to fix the 2 hoses we blew!" For the record the issue there was a main relay in the Acura legend - common issue they didn't know about. In regards to the main relay, I called the Big O and asked them about the main relay. The answer was, "Um, what does it do?" I told them and they said they will call right back. It's been over a month, they have never once called back.

Every time I've gone to a Big O, it's been a bad experience, and that's it. I am done. They are arrogant and condescending, especially when you do know what you're talking about and they can't BS you into buying things you don't need.

I can see why you have so many in the Salt Lake areas. You got to spread the bad service around. Keep this in mind; you are not the only tire/repair shops in the city. People will stop using your services.

Then I was called about 20 minutes later to inform me that 3 of my fuel injectors were leaking. I had driven the car for two days. No leak. No gas smell. Now all of a sudden, my injectors are leaking like crazy. I was a bit suspicious. I took the car back to the mechanic who replaced the gaskets.

Injectors were leaking from the top of the fuel, WATER in reservoir and radiator not full. We took a sample out of the reservoir and indeed, it was WATER. Mark, Big O's employee, tried to convince me that WATER was antifreeze! I neglected to tell him about the sample we took. So he went on and on about how honest he was and indeed it was antifreeze for sure. He even told me he tested it! After another ** story via phone from Mark and a call from some GM in Glenwood, all they could offer was to drain my radiator and refill it. No thanks. I would not take my bicycle to Big O tires! The oil had just been changed at Jim Marsh Jeep Dealer just 700 miles before, so I did not need an oil change. They could see the sticker indicating this on the window. They wrote the incorrect mileage as 102475 on the invoice when it was actually 118225. The bill for this scam came out to be $1,175.

Also, I had to go back two more times because the front was not properly aligned. They (Big O Tires) wrote down the wrong mileage so the warranty on the work expires sooner than it should.

On my third trip back to complain, they finally corrected the mileage error (118325).

Okay, was I not scheduled? Then, I requested them for a ride back home which is 30 seconds out but without sidewalks. Okay, after I get back home at night, when I was about to recharge my car battery as a monthly stuff I do; I found that my right front wheel cover was gone! Then, I went to check the others and the left front was loose too. I've never touched these wheel covers ever, so it made me very frustrated. Out of courtesy, my wife called him back and Jeff mentioned that she needed an air filter for the car. My wife replied that we would skip that service this month.

After saying this, Jeff hung up on her again without acknowledging her or giving any kind of comment. I find this to be extremely disrespectful on behalf of the Big O Tires' staff. On 4/21/11, I went to Big O tires for an oil change. The 'special' was an oil change and tire rotation. I noticed that within a couple of days, that the coolant lite went on in the car. Then I noticed the squeak when I would turn the wheel. I popped the hood to find both empty, and the clips holding the grill on were all missing. I contacted Waylon at the shop, he gave me nothing but lip. So I then got Adam's phone number from Waylon and he slammed the phone down after giving me the number.

I called Adam twice. When I did speak with him this morning, he was oblivious and unconcerned about the level of service I received on 4/21. He also gave me attitude and said "I'll call you back in two hours." And he hung the phone up on me without asking my phone number. Obviously this is the standard of service they apply to people with concerns. They choose to mistreat the customer, and then they ignore them. I am seeking reimbursement for $31.68. I am skeptical that I in fact received an oil change at all. They did not rotate the tires, they did not top off fluids, they did not put the clips back on my Volvo that hold the grill on the car.

I hit a rock on a fairly isolated mountain highway. I tried to change the tire but the locking lug nut would not budge. After two hours, and without cell phone reception, a state patrol came by and also could not remove the lug nut. A piece of the nut broke off and the lug nut tool cracked. So, during implement weather, very cold temperatures, my car had to be towed, all four lug nuts replaced as I was in a Colorado mountain town, and a set of new tires.

When I call the storer who had sold me the tires and rotated them, I was told that they use a pressure torque tool to tighten. I stated that they were over-tightened, and could not be removed and broke the lug nut. They offered some services (this was actually the third time I have had an issue with this store), and the manager called to state that the locking nuts were hand torqued. He offered a free oil change and to replace the locking tool (now that I already had the locking bolts removed). The nuts were obviously not hand torqued, the manager stated he cannot watch his staff all the time.

I am stranded on mountain highway, single female, snow showers, and no cell reception. If the nuts were truly hand tightened, a tire change could have been done in a reasonable amount of time by myself. Instead, I waited for two hours, $230.00 tow charge, $40.00 for replacement lug bolts, had to replace all tires. It was stressful and I lost a day of work; they would give me a free oil change.

My wife took our Toyota mini van in to get tires put on. When she arrived home, my son took off the hub cap to find one lug nut missing and two put on backwards. All three were together and over time, the other two would have worked themselves off by centrifugal force leaving two lugs left on the left front tire. I took it back the very next day and pointed it out to Dylan and took pictures. They repaired the problem as I watched them. The next day my son tried to remove the lug nuts off our truck and could not get them off. We took that back to Big O Tire and they could not get them off either. They continued to work at it. Then Dylan came out and informed my son we were not welcome there any longer, and my son got back in the truck and went home.

I now have to drive 25 miles to have warranty, rotate tires and/or flat repair because they refuse to work on our vehicles. Does this make any sense to anyone? A consumer points out a mistake that could have deadly consequences and they are asked to not come back. I never raised my voice, but thought to point out the legal ramifications in Colorado. Tampering with motor vehicle is a class 5 felony. Some say it was an honest mistake. The worker had 4 opportunities in which he saw that tire.

When he started the lugs, tightened with air wrench, torqued them down, and finally, when he put the hub cap back on. It sure seemed deliberate, calculated and down right incompetent, and he had worked there 6 years.

I have a Chrysler 300SRT-8, which is a high performance car that costs $50,000.00. I asked the staff at Big-O if they were qualified to work on my car and if the parts for my car were accessible to them and they said yes. My brakes were "squeaking" and I wanted them checked. They inspected the car and determined that my front brakes need rotors and pads. This work was done and cost me $500.00. The brakes continued to squeak, so I took it back one week later and they said that the front brake pads were "glazing". When I asked them why this had happened, given that they had just replaced the rotors and pads, they accused me of "being rough on my brakes and driving the car too hard". I told them this was not true. They said that they would replace the pads with a better pad at no charge to me and acted like it was a "favor". They went on to say that the rear brakes now needed rotors and pads. They replaced these and this cost me another $500.00.

During both visits to this store to have this work done, I asked the manager to be careful with my car, I explained that the front end is very low and the car cannot be parked into the curb, especially the curb at their store, as it has rocks inlayed in the cement that protrudes and would damage my car. I tell them this at every visit. I was waiting for my car and I observed the mechanic drive my car and park it into the curb. My front spoiler was crushed into the rocks and he left it parked that way. The mechanic was not sitting on a protective seat cover and there was no floor cover in my car either. I was upset and asked him to back my car up (he had the keys) as it was on the rocks. He did it. I informed the manager (Justin) that I am upset that after giving specific instructions not to park my car against the curb, he was careless in his communication with the mechanics and did it anyway. Justin looked at my car and told me "it's fine", there is no damage.

I took my car to Chrysler the next day and they told me that the spoiler was not ripped or torn, but there were several scrapes and scratches under the spoiler that Big-O should fix. In addition to the spoiler issue, my brakes are squeaking again. I had asked Big-O for the old parts from my car, but they did not give them to me. Chrysler also told me that Big-O had put "after market" parts on my car, which I have no problem with, but they did not put the correct type of rotors on my car. My car requires a rotor that has holes in them to cool off the brakes, as a result of installing different rotors, my car will run hotter and the brakes will wear faster. I had just bought new tires for my car here, which they installed, but did not align the car so I went back and asked them to do that, which I paid for. If you put tires that cost $300.00 a piece on a high performance car, you should align the car, or at least ask. It was out of alignment.

All of these issues led me to believe that Big-O does not care, does shoddy work, and has no regard for the customer's satisfaction or the expense that customers will have to pay as a result. I paid Big-O several thousands of dollars only to be in a situation where I have to correct problems with another mechanic. I do not have the money to do this right now, as a single parent with a child in college and one at home, it was a strain on the finances to accomplish this work.

In December 2010, after only 21,000 miles, one of the tires developed a bubble, indicating a separation of the tire tread, which warranted the tire defective and dangerous to use. I then went back to Big O Tires to exchange the defective tire, which was under warranty. However, Big O Tires would not exchange the defective tire for me, and instead tried to convince me that the tire was not defective and that I should get other unrelated services done for my car. After being turned away, I researched the anatomy of a car tire and the possible problem that can cause a tire to fail and found that a "separated tire" is indeed a manufacturing and design defect, which should therefore be covered by the tire's warranty. The following is an article that discusses tire separation: **.

I am fortunate that I did not get into a car crash due to the defective tire. I am also concerned that the tire was part of an entire batch of defective tires that other drivers are using. The tire separation problem is the same as the well-known problem that Ford had with Firestone tires installed on the Ford Explorers and which resulted in a mass recall. Big O Tires did not take the problem of my defective tire seriously, which means that they are continuing to sell the tires to other drivers, who may then be at risk of having a serious car accident. They seem to be concerned more about maintaining a profit than customer safety!

I did explain to Tim I had an appointment with Car Max where I purchased the car, he said they would take a look over the whole car and let me know the results soon and where the noise was coming from.

I got a call back from Tim telling me it was the bearings. The front left bearings and the front right bearings needed to be replaced. I let Big O tires do the work on my car, which was partly covered under my warranty. Tim told me that the car would take a few hours to finish and it would be ready about 5pm. After about six to seven hours went by, we decided to go to Big O Tires and see if the car was complete. When my fiance and I arrived to Big O Tires, Tim explained to us the work was complete, but he could not release the car to us due to non-payment from my warranty company.

We tried to contact the warranty company, but had got no answer and we could not pick up our car. Tim told us he wanted to take us to the back to let us hear a noise coming from the back end of the car, he explained, "You can only hear the noise when it is in mid air, elevated on the car lift and with someone in it pressing the gas pedal. You should go get it checked by Car Max". The next day on December 23 at approximately 11:26am, we drove to pick up the Mercedes from Big O Tires and was told by Tim that the problem was fixed and he had test drove the car and the car drove like a Mercedes should. A few days later on Christmas night, we drove to California and noticed the noise was still there. We returned to Las Vegas on December 28 and noticed the noise was worse than before.

The next day on the 29th at approximately 10am, we brought the car back to Big O Tires and we told Tim the noise was still there. Tim said, "Oh it is, yeah I think it's that back end I told you about, but we will double check to see if the bearings are on right." I let Big O Tires check it over. Tim gave me a call back and said, "Yeah, I think that sound is coming from the back end. The bearings are fine and they just got to get the car ready to go so it will be about 15-20 minutes." My fiance and I went to pick up the car. Tim said, "Yeah man, I think it's that back end, I'll go see if your car is ready to go." Tim came back inside the store and told me when the mechanic went to pull my car around the front, all of the sudden, the ABS light came on.

I explained to him that the light never came on when the car was in my possession and I never had any problems with the ABS. I asked Tim if any one did a test drive to the car to hear the noise. Tim said, "Yes, the mechanic test drove the car, but he does not speak very good English and I could not test drive the car because I am the only one at the desk." I then asked Tim why is the ABS light on in the dash. Tim said, "We don't know why it's on because we do not have the proper device to hook up to a Mercedes to tell us the problem. Drive the car as least as possible until your appointment at Car Max."

At this point, I was upset and I just wanted my keys and to just leave the place. When I drove from Big O Tires I came to the first light, stepped on the brake and heard a loud grinding noise, which I have never heard before. I felt the car was unsafe to drive. I feel that Big O Tires is responsible for the ABS light coming on, my brakes grinding, and the original problem not getting fixed. So $484.86 was put into the car to fix a problem that never got fixed.

A few days later, on Christmas night, we drove to California, and noticed the noise was still there. We returned to Las Vegas on 12/28/10, and noticed the noise was worse than before.

The next day, on 12/29/10, at around 10 AM, we brought the car back to Big O Tires, and we told Tim the noise was still there. Tim said, "oh it is, yeah I think it's that back end I told you about, but we will double check to see if the bearings are on right". I let Big O Tires check it over. Tim gave me a call back and said, "yeah I think that sound is coming from the back end. The bearings are fine, and they just got to get the car ready to go, so it will be about 15-20 minutes". My Fiance and I went to pick up the car. Tim said "yeah man, I think it's that back end. I'll go see if your car is ready to go". Tim came back inside the store, and told me when the mechanic went to pull my car around the front. All of a sudden, the ABS light came on. I explained to him that the light never came on when the car was in my possession, and I never had any problems with the ABS system.

I asked Tim if any one tested the car to hear the noise coming from the car. Tim said, "yes, the mechanic test drove the car, but he does not speak very good English, and I could not test drive the car, because I am the only one at the desk". I then asked Tim why is the ABS light on in the dash. Tim said, "we don't know why it's on, because we do not have the proper device to hook up to a Mercedes to tell us the problem. Drive the car as little as possible, until your appointment at Car Max". At this point, I was upset, and I just wanted my keys and just leave the place. When I drove from Big O Tires, I came to the first light, stepped on the brake, and heard a loud grinding noise, which I have never heard before. I felt the car was unsafe to drive. I feel that Big O Tires is responsible for the ABS light coming on,my brakes grinding, and the original problem not getting fixed. $484.86 was put into the car to fix a problem that never got fixed.

The physical damage is the brake system. My brakes grind now, and the abs light is on. The noise in the car seems worse than it originally started. I should not bring my car into a shop and pull it out with a new problem, with the original problem not getting fixed. I am completely inconvenienced. Also, I can not drive my car, due to it being unsafe. Now, I am going to have to spend more money to find what is wrong with my car.

They kept it for many days and when they called me to pick it up, I paid them for the work and I was told that it needed more work so they kept it longer. And when I did come to pick it up, it would not run anymore and I was told that my engine failed so I had to pay a tow truck to come get my car. I feel that I was taken advantage of and I have no car to go to work because of trusting my car in their hands. Each day they kept it, when I kept calling them about my car, they would tell me that they had to send it to some outside source to do work on it. It's absolutely the worst experience I ever had. I went to get an oil change because I had a coupon for $19.99. It's not even that cheap, but I thought, well, it's Big O tires, they will do a good job. They finished in about an hour, but when I got back, apparently there were 3 other things wrong with my car that needed to be fixed. The person I spoke with, Tim, said, "Oh well, these mechanics don't really know what they are doing, let me go look."

Apparently I needed some sort of seal for my oil pan. I said no thanks, and left. My car was acting bad, and my transmission seemed to be missing as soon as I left. I called them and Tim answered and said sorry, we are closed. I asked if I could please bring my car back and find out the issue and he said no way. We are closed.

I told him my transmission was acting bad right away as soon as I left and he said he couldn't do anything. I took it to a real mechanic. Apparently someone drained my transmission there and burned my transmission up. Also the seal on my oil pan was completely intact. Nothing was wrong there. I looked on my receipt and it said 'needs transmission service'.

I called and the owner called me back and said, "Well, we didn't even do anything to the transmission." I asked how he knew it needed service and he said he's not sure. I asked why they said my oil pan had a leak when it does not, and he had no answer for that either. All around they were so extremely rude and unhelpful. I went all the way to corporate, and no one helped me whatsoever.

They do not stand behind their work at all, and Tim says they do not even hire 'real mechanics'. He stated that they hire people that only know how to change oil, nothing else. And they are not even certified. It makes me very angry that I took my car there and got very badly hurt. It will cost me over 2500 dollars to fix the mistake Tim and Big O tires slapped me with. They eventually offered me a free oil change. I asked them who would be doing it. They said they would. I declined for obvious reasons. And I no longer need my oil changed. My car is parked. They killed it.

I took my car into Big O Tires numerous times because my breaks were shaking when I was using them. Big O could never seem to fix the problem. They performed a wheel alignment and resurfaced the front rotors ($118.98), but the problem was never fixed.

After returning four times and never having the problem fixed, I took my car to Lowe's Auto Repair in Springville. After driving the car around the block, he knew instantly what the problem was. I didn't need the front rotors resurfaced. I needed entirely new rotors ($134.70). I told Mr. *** that I had taken my car to Big O Tires and he was completely disgusted that a tire shop could not figure out how to fix the problem. It took him less than five minutes to diagnose the problem. After he put new rotors on the car, the car worked perfectly again.

I asked if they could take me back to work if I dropped off my jeep. They said yeah, they weren't busy at all. I walked in and let them check in my jeep, then waited for almost 15 minutes while they looked for the keys to the company van to take me back to work. Finally, a young man decided to take me back to work in his own car. I was late to work. He said to call when I was ready after work to come get my jeep and they would come after me. I called 2-1/2 hours before I got off work and a woman said they would be waiting for me outside the lumber doors at 3:30. I didn't want to make them wait, so I clocked out a few minutes early and went outside. I told them what I looked like and what I would be wearing and that I would be right outside those lumber doors. It takes almost three minutes to get from their front door to where I work, even if all of the lights are red.

Three minutes, no one was there waiting for me. I waited for 12 minutes and was freezing. I went back in and called and they said they would be here in 10 minutes. Yeah, so I went back outside in the cold to wait some more. It was 4:10 when I couldn't stand outside anymore and went back in and called again. "Oh, yeah, he left 10 minutes ago. He should be there by now.” I went back out to look to no avail. I waited about three more minutes and there was a van driving all through the parking lot. I told them where I would be waiting! I chased him down. I asked him what the deal was. He told me that he had been told a little after 4 that I needed a ride. The keys were locked in the van and it took him awhile to break into it.

Why didn't someone keep looking for those keys when they discovered they were missing at 11 am? Why was I lied to and told that they would be waiting on me at 3:30? Why was I lied to again and told that I would then be picked up at a later time when the driver claims he wasn't even told that someone needed picked up until 4? I don't know that the work was even done on my vehicle, but I sure will remember the lack of service when they claimed they weren't even busy. Several people asked if I needed a ride somewhere and every time they did, I said it was to Big O, but they were coming and I didn't want to pass them and be rude, the people told me they wouldn't hold their breath. Another lady told me her story that they told her they could change her oil in an hour as she was the first person in at 7 am. It was 9:30 when they were done, and they told her it was because they had cars waiting from the night before. Why didn't they tell her that? Not very good stories coming from this store. I will not frequent it again.

Then shocks were going to be needed in the future. I went to another alignment shop and they said Big O likes to hustle the customer on that.

First of all, Big O doesn't drill out the old ball joints. They buy control arms, which all of us guys know the ball joints come already in the control arms, that's why they just order control arms, which didn't need to be replaced, and just pass the bill on to the customer. The shocks didn't really need replaced. One of your competitors told me Big O is good for charging people that don't really need work done. I was told that I declined the warranty when I purchased the tire but that they could get me a tire from the Folsom Store. I agreed and the Rep Fuji called the store to make sure they had it to match my tire. I was told indeed it could be done. All my tires are white wall facing out. I asked why no one told me and was there nothing else to match? I was told that the tire is discontinued and that there are no white walls that the rep could get until Monday. I was left in a real bad predicament, but decided not to pay for a black wall that was already put on the vehicle and told the rep to put back the tire I had on and I will go to the establishment across the street (Firestone). I would clean it up and call them to see why they didn't clean the oil off of the pan and it was ignored. The last time my wife took the car in for the oil change, they gave her a card and on the back of the card was written, oil pan gasket Parts $12.99 Labor 3 Hrs $224.94 Total $237.93 and was told it needed to be done as soon as possible.

I told my wife, we didn't need a gasket and that was confirmed today. It was time for an oil change. He gave me the "good guy price" of $129.00. He mentioned that the plugs would cost about $10.00 each for this type of vehicle (the one that he was looking at and talking about). As I was on my way to a football game, I told him that I would come in the next morning. The next day, I returned to the store and Bill was off duty. They came out and talked to me about how I needed to replace the tires and I told that I needed to wait until October for the fall special so please rotate and balance. They said okay.

I have an inspection company that when I go do inspections I put several miles on my car. I come to find out they did not balance the tires at all so when I was on the freeway, my car would start shaking so I could not go any faster than about 62 mph. It was so bad that I decided that I better go get new tires as I could not drive it the way it was. I went to your store on 12300 So in Draper. I asked them what it would cost for the 4 Big O tires and when he quoted me, I could not pay that much for the tires. He worked with me to get a price I could pay. He also checked to see if the tires had been balanced recently when they were done and he told me that they had not been done.

While there was no damage or problems other than it took me longer to do my inspections, there was no problems. If your store on 12300 South had not treated me so well, which is what I was used to getting from Big O, you would have lost a customer. Now I know that I am only one person but you know the saying that if a customer is happy they will tell 20 people, if they are unhappy they will tell 40 people.

I will never go back to your store on Redwood Road. They are jerks and it could have been worse if something would have happened. From now on, my business will go to your store on 12300 Draper Utah. They did a great job. I guess this will only matter if it matters to the people or corporate people of Big O.

I bought rims and tires for my vehicle, that came to over $1,300 for the set. I requested the 90-day same-as-cash, but they informed me that they had a program that fit this mode of financial request. Instead of getting a 90 day same as cash, it basically turned into a Citi account, which I wanted to avoid because of all the bad press. Well, it came true. They sent me a late bill, even when I tried to pay directly to the account at the Big O location.

One of the personnel stated that the manager was not there, and nobody else had the knowledge to enter the information. So I made a choice to wait a little while. The reason for me wanting the 90 days same as cash, was so that I would not have the burden of paying out all the cash, at one given time, even though I had the money in the bank. I wanted to allow a few more paydays to pass, so that I sustain my account balance at a certain level, that keeps me at peace with my finances.

The economic damage is that, I have a payment due, which I had already placed $300 down. That is a payment bigger than you would want or need, but my objective was that I did not want any interest payments or penalty, for no reason at all. This turned out to be the worst deal I have made in a while, because the account is at around 27% interest. If this had been discussed to me properly, I might have paid for it all, in one payment, or I would not have bought the tires, until I had saved all the money.

I hate the financial institution that we have now, because they are not doing good business for the public. Although, they indicate there is no interest, or charges on my bill, when I requested the payoff. It changed the amount from the current balance of $952.37 to a payoff of $969.37. That increase is a charge for something. So today, I sent my payment in full, so they can no longer affect my financial condition. I also cancelled my account with them.

I had my brakes worked on and they welded the rotors on and I didn't find out 'til about a year later when trying to replace front rotors! I thought because they had asked me if I wanted them to do work that would cost over $200.00 or told me what they could do for $130.00 so I took the cheaper route. If only I would have known they had done that!

I bought tires from Big O in Cathedral City CA. last year and I noticed my tires felt like they were feeling unbalanced while I was driving around 70 miles an hour so I went to see Dave, the manager of Big O, and he looked me up on his computer and said, "You are under the miles but we will have to re-balance the tires so we can find out if I might have another problems" (which I didn't). He said it would cost me $60 to speed balance the tires but when I pointed out that a tire was missing a weight, he said sometimes they only put one weight on one side but clearly there was a spot where a weight was missing. I could not see paying $60 for re-balancing when I am a repeat customer and that should have been covered on my tire purchase so I went to Discount Tires down the street and explained my dilemma with Big O.

They balanced my tires, rotated them and even checked my brakes for $10.99 each tire. Not only did I save almost $20, the manager at Discount Tires said if I would have bought the tires there they would not have charged me. You may think you just lost one customer but I have six adult children whom I'll be telling what happened to me and they won't go to Big O and I'm sure they'll tell their friends and so on. I truly hope you treat your next customer fair or they won't come back.

I have been going to Big O for a few years now, and have been happy with you, until last week. On 10/10/09, I purchased 4 new, "best" tires, as well as, all new front brakes, for $896. I wanted the best tires so I would have no worries for a long time. I've been back to have them rotated as recommended, and also had oil changes, so I have been a great customer. The problem occurred on 08/22. I was simply driving onto a highway exit ramp, when my left rear tire blew out, and I almost went off the ramp.

When this happened, the tire sensor was broken, due to how hard I went to the side. The cost to replace that at Big O was $151.99. The mechanic said it was just a worn sensor, and broke on its own, and Big O was not responsible. Totally false. Jeep informed me that the sensor does not just break, and that the blow out definitely caused the damaged sensor. I have spent a great deal of money at Big O, and plan to return, so all I am requesting is reimbursement for the broken sensor from that blown out tire. I have receipts to verify my purchases and and regular maintenance with Big O. My 10 month old P215/60R17 BIG O Euro Tour T rear driver side tire, simply blew out causing a broken sensor in that tire, which cost me $151.99.

The front brakes did not need any work and I bought the rotors and pads for the rear at Advance Auto Parts for $104.91 (that included the tax). As the rear pads cost me $22.99, it would appear Big O was charging 4 times the going price for the brake pads at $88.54. Perhaps this was an honest mistake. Unlikely, because the same mistake was made on the price of the front pads. I have the estimate.

If my wife had agreed to this estimate, she would have paid 4 times the going price for the parts (pads) and would have had unnecessary work performed on the front brakes. Because she did not, the only damage will be Big O losing all future possibility of working on our vehicles.

Big O Tire store #5225 is very rude and have very bad service. On 8/13/2010, I went to this store for tire alignment and the technician took my car out for a test drive and came back with deep dent on driver side rear bumper. Bumper is also pushed in and has white mark on the dent. Total amount of damage they caused is around $700. I never had any damage on my rear bumper before I went to this Big O Tire.

They didn't even have manager there, so I talked to the owner's son but he didn't seem to listen or take care of the problem. Instead the technician was lying and blamed everything on me. They were very irresponsible and didn't even fix the damage that they caused. When I put my car into the shop I want my car to be repaired, not damaged. They are suppose to take good care of my car but instead they are taking advantage of the customer like this. I feel very disappointed and mad. How can they just damage someone else's property and lie like that. This is very unfair. I need someone who can help me in this situation.

I took the truck in for rotate and balance. When picking the truck up, Rory ** said that one of the left rear wheel studs was missing when we brought it in. Rory mentioned since the stud was missing that it would cost $258.00 to fix. When my husband Corey **** confronted them about this issue, he was told the same story. But while talking, there was an employee that had overseen it and said that the mechanic had broken it when removing the tire. When Rory found this out he offered to make repairs but this is the third time this has happened when taking the truck in for rotate and balance. A decision was made to take the truck somewhere else to make repairs due to lack of confidence in their ability to make repair.

The repairs should have been done before the truck was released to the customer. Upon inspection at home, we found that the right front brake caliper mounting bracket had been removed. We had not been informed that this procedure had been performed or why. We looked at the wheel weights on wheels and we could not find where any had been moved, removed or added. The tires had been purchased on December 20, 2008. The mileage on the truck was 19,447. I took the truck in on June 20, 2009 and the mileage was 25,882. There were 2 right rear wheel studs that were broken. The truck was again taken in on August 12, 2010 and a left rear wheel stud was broken. I will not be doing business with Big O Tire business any time soon.

Big-O has an advertisement on the internet stating "we will match the final shipped price on the brands we sell." It also stated "including internet pricing!".
So I brought in an ad from a internet competitor which stated a total price of $512.84 and "Free shipping". For a "final shipped price" of $512.84.

When Big-O saw the ad, they said they could honor the price, however, when all was said and done they decided to add a shipping charge to the cost of the tires, making Big-O's "final shipped price" much higher than the competitor's "final shipped price". This is clearly false advertising.

I tried to work with them to fix the car. They replaced the fuel pump and lines. When I got the car back, the check engine light came on. They had emptied the radiator knowing that the car could blow up. They promised to refund my money but I have not received my money, nor did I get any kind of apology.

I purchased new tires on March 18th 2010. Today, on my way into town accompanied by my wife and two grandchildren, I was traveling 65 mph when my truck began to jerk severely to the right. A few seconds later, the wheel was violently wrenched from my grasp and I grabbed it again, barely missing a guard rail and going down into an embankment, where the truck finally lunged again and fell to a nasty leaning angle. When I got out, the whole sidewall had blown and the remainder of the tire was back inside the wheel well.

AAA was called to change it and I called the tire shop at the same time. They told me to come in and they would replace the tire. We limped into town and sat two hours waiting to be told that they didn't have enough tires to satisfy my needs. I had told them that I didn't want the other three tires on there if this was what I could expect from this brand of tire after they told me that it happens all the time. Frankly, I was petrified to drive it! Then they put three tires on and one of the old tires that I wanted replaced (and yes I have already paid the difference for them) and they told me that I had to make another trip back into town on the next day to get the last tire. When I asked who was paying for the fuel for the 60 mile trip, it was me.

I am out the difference of tires that I feel comfortable with of $173.00 plus a 60 mile trip for the second time! There's no tires to fit my truck even though I paid additional for road hazard and all the hassle. The guy was telling me that it was normal for those tires to blow out the sidewall. Later, he said that it was punctured but I was never allowed to see it. After being all over the road, it should have been more than punctured I assure you.

I took my car into this store to have it checked out for the trip cross country to NJ, and also to have the check engine light being on checked out. They rotated the tires, changed the oil and charged me a diagnostic fee. They reset the check engine light and told me it was a bad plug or wire on cylinder number one, and replaced the plugs which it needed anyway. About two days later, the light came on again and they checked it again for free.

They told me that my transmission shift solenoids were bad and wanted to refer me to a local transmission shop. I called Signature Lincoln Mercury and took it to them. They found the problem, a bad coil solenoid pack, bad fuel injector wire and bad gas cap. I spent an additional $750.00 on the car that Big O completely misdiagnosed. I had to put the tires on the car as well in Illinois at a Firestone shop. They showed me that one had hardened and was starting to separate. How can you put a car out on the road like this when you are a tire store supposedly?

I'm sure this will fall upon deaf ears, however, I now understand why they are closing so many Big O dealerships throughout Northern Utah. My wife and I purchased 4 new tires high performance tires from Big O several months ago. Today, Wednesday June 23, 2010, my wife had the back rear tire blow-out. She took the tire in with all her receipts and was informed that the tire was mounted incorrectly and they would not warrant the tire. (So much for the Big O hazard warranty). I come to find out and brought to the locations manager's attention, the tire had been flat once before and was repaired and mounted, by you guessed it, the same Big O.

The manager accused my wife of lying and suggested that we had change the tire and mounted it incorrectly ourselves. My wife had been going to the same Big O for the past six years and had kept all her receipts indicating that all services rendered to the tires were done so by the same Big O located in Ogden Utah. After much debate and belittlement by the Big O management team, I suggested to my wife to take the car over to Buffalo Brothers, located in Roy Utah. Buffalo Brothers were not shocked at all to the treatment received and indicated that it happens all the time.

My wife is currently on her way to Buffalo Tires to see if they might honor the Big O warranty. If not we will need to purchase one and possible two more high performance tires. Boy I'm glad Big O warrants their tires!

On 9/29/09 I had the above aforementioned Big O Tires do a total of $535.47 in work to my van. New water pump, belts, tires, and coolant. On 6/14/10 I went back to this location because the new water pump was leaking. The manager wanted to see the receipt, thinking I did not have one. When he looked at it he said, “Well, if the water pump is warrantied, we will get it but you will pay total labor.” Well, I took my van somewhere else, got it replaced and a lifetime warranty labor and parts as long as I own the vehicle. The action of this manager and Big O Tires’ lack of concern will never receive any more of my business. It will be posted at school for the students and other staff to see how you treat a customer. No, Big O won't go out of business. However, I can guarantee that it will lose thousands of dollars in future business from staff, students, and faculty at this college.

Two weeks later, the engine started blowing oil out the tail pipe. A loss of compression, bottom half of engine going bad. Now no car and over $2,100 and no car left. What can I do?

We were staying in AZ for 5 months. We noticed that our tires were wearing, and had them replaced. We were advised to have the alignment checked, to ensure that the tires would wear evenly. We went to Big O Tires on Main Street in Mesa AZ. We were told that we needed a realignment, and that our battery had only 13% left on it, and should also be replaced. We just purchased a new battery 3 months prior to our trip, and asked for the replaced battery back (to take back to the original store we purchased it after our trip). The bill was almost $800.00. We left the store, and immediately realized the truck was pulling to the left.

After calling the store back, we were advised to return it, first thing in the morning. The store opened at 7AM. We arrived at 6:45 AM the next morning (to avoid having to spend another 4 hours, as we did the day before). The store never opened until 8:00 AM. We were told that the tires needed to be rotated, and that "you only get what you pay for", implying that we bought cheap tires. The tires were $900.00. After leaving the store for the 2nd time, we noticed that when we turned our steering wheel right or left, we would experience a "jar" or a "pop" in the steering wheel, feeling like metal was rubbing against metal. It did not happen every time we turned the wheel, however, it never did this before we took the truck to Big O Tires.

We stopped back in the store for a 3rd time, and explained what we were experiencing. We were told that GM had sent a letter out, saying that this was happening in some of their trucks, and it was nothing to worry about, and could not be fixed. We explained that it just started happening after we had the truck in their shop. We were told it was probably just a coincidence. Two weeks later, when we were packed up to drive home to MD, our steering went out. We could turn the steering wheel completely around and around, and nothing happened. Had we been on the highway going 60 mph, or on one of the many mountain trails that we spent more than 70% of our time on, we could have been killed, or caused an accident, hurting or possibly killing some innocent person. We were going slow when it happened, and were able to safely get to the side of the road.

We had to then pay $80.00 to get towed to Big O Tires. They told us that "someone forgot to put the cotter pin in the pitman arm" and that is how the steering gear came apart. They, of course, were not going to take the blame. They told us that is was the people that serviced the car in MD (5 months prior). This time the bill was another $457.00, and the front end had to be re-aligned. After getting home, and taking the battery back to the store we originally purchased it from, we were told that the battery was fine. The experience, the time, the frustration, and the money were a nightmare. We will never use this company again. I tried to write a complaint to the company on their website, and it wouldn't even go through. It bounced back as an error.
