CleanChoice had a rate that was reasonable. But they have a gimmicky thing where the rate goes through the roof if you don't lock down another promotion periodically, which is a pain. Next year, I have to call them back and get a new rate that's reasonable. I don't mind paying a little more than my regular rate from the utility, but it was 29 cents a kilowatt hour if I forget to call them back. That is a major flaw. They triple if you don't call them and play their little games and I don't have time for it. If a competitor comes along and has a regular rate that makes sense, I'll switch in an instant.

I’ve been with CleanChoice for about a year and I'm billed through the utility company. I pay a fixed price but I can renegotiate it when they have a lower price. When I was renewing, I said their automatic renewal price is more expensive than the ads I'm seeing for their energy online. So, they offered me a better rate than the automatic renewal rate was gonna be. I didn't like that they were doing the auto renewals at a higher rate but if you took the time to talk to them, it got better. The person who did that with me said the rates are this way now but they fluctuate. I’m locked in for the time but nit for the rate. So if they go down, I should call CleanChoice again. I should check in two months and if they've gone down, they can reset mine down.

Hi Taina, we're so happy to have you as a CleanChoice Energy customer and appreciate you leaving us a review!

I have not needed to use the customer service at CleanChoice Energy, which means they are doing something right. It is an absolutely terrific experience. There's no change in how you use the energy. It's still delivered to you. Where I am, NYSEG is simply the conduit. I've authorized them to buy the electricity from a green supplier.

Michael, thank you so much for the kind works and for supporting clean energy. We're so happy to have you as a customer and to hear you're having a great experience!

The enrollment process was relatively quick. It started with a phone call and it took two phone calls to go through. My understanding is that the billing still goes through my current provider, since they're wholesale. It didn't actually change up my billing process. It was pretty easy. Also, the customer service is fine. But they were slightly not transparent in terms of the pricing. They continue putting a higher rate per kilowatt-hour and I would have to call them back and see if there are lower rates available.

Joseph, thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. You are correct that your invoice is mailed every month from Pepco, your local utility. Your bill will have 2 main sections listed on it. The Supply Charge portion is from CleanChoice Energy and the Distribution Charge portion is from Pepco. This allows you to receive one combined bill, and make one payment to the utility.
In terms of your pricing, you signed up with CleanChoice Energy on a 12 month fixed contract. This means your price per unit of energy (kWh) is fixed for 12 months. As each contract nears its end, we send out a renewal offer to you for review. This allows you to make the choice regarding your desire to renew for another 12 month period. Upon the start of any service, we also mail out terms and conditions outlining the parameters of the plan selected. Please note, we receive new rates every month and are always happy to review them with our customers at any time. We are able to provide quotes for both fixed and variable rates to meet the different needs of our customers.
Thank you for the time you supported clean energy with us. Please feel free to reach out if you should have any further questions or concerns. We may be reached at: 1-800-218-0798 Our hours of operation are: Mon-Fri 8AM-8PM EST Sat 9AM-5PM EST.

The enrollment process with CleanChoice Energy was favorable. I already knew about it and thought it's a good idea to use renewable energy and everybody should. I'm in favor of that. I wanted to do it and they made it easier. When I called for something, the customer service reps were nice to talk to, friendly and helpful. I was happy with the call.

I worked with a representative when I enrolled with CleanChoice and he was good. I have electricity with them and they have a pretty good rate compared to ComEd, which is our main electric supplier company. It's providing about one cent lesser than CleanChoice, but I have a contract with the CleanChoice for 12 months. If the rate goes down somewhere else, I will move it and try to save the cost.

Naresh, thank you for your review and for supporting clean energy!

With CleanChoice, my power goes out less. My bill is a little bit higher, but that's what I expected from this. CleanChoice is more expensive per kilowatt-hours but I wanted to go with a reputable brand. I referred my neighbor to them. We both have CleanChoice now.

Aja, thank you for your review and for supporting clean energy. We truly appreciate your business and the referral!

The person that I talked to knew what he was talking about and helped make me comfortable in making the change. Some people are pushy when they call, but he was not. He just told me the facts about it and I liked what he was saying. CleanChoice is a reliable company. I like the decrease in my electric bill very much.

Nancy, we're so glad to hear you're having a wonderful experience. We're happy to have you as a customer and appreciate your kind review!
