My husband took his prescriptions in to be refilled, all of them EXCEPT his diabetes medication was refilled. They informed him that he did not have any more refills on his diabetes medications. But he did he had previously had all of the prescriptions refilled at the same time, because the medicines all run out at the same time each month. He was in another state when he had Nov. prescriptions refilled with no problem (he took his empty medicine bottles in to the pharmacy in Rogers, Arkansas and these medications were refilled).
Now this month end of Dec. He took his diabetes medication bottles to the pharmacy to be refilled, and called in his blood pressure medications. His blood pressure medications was refilled with no problem, but they first refused to refill his diabetes medications, then when they double checked (I am not sure of which person did this) but when they rechecked they saw he DID have one remaining refill on his diabetes medications, so they told him they would refill it, so he waited a long time at the counter while they assumedly refilled it. So when he was given the "prescription" he did not look at the medicine bottles when it was handed to him in the stabled shut bag, he just brought it home.
When he got home he discovered that they had given him the wrong kind of medication a medicine he has never even heard of before or taken, the name of that medication is ** (500MG CR Cap) so he called them up and told them they had given him the wrong medicine, and he took this medicine back. We still have the paper that was in the bag with this medicine is how I know what it is now. It was dark green capsules in two big bottles. The bottles of medication had his name on them. But it was not his medication, it was not anything he had ever taken before.
There was a pharmacist tech there at the counter, she gave him six of the ** pills that he needed since he told her that he had been without that medication for a week at that time. The pharmacist on duty at that time was **. I assume he gave the approval for the six pills to be given to my husband. Then he was told to come back Friday January 2 and he would be able to pick up the rest of his medication. He was not able to get there Friday so he called today (Saturday) to see if they had his medication. He was told NO that they did not that he did not have any more refills. And the name of that pharmacist was **.
He also spoke with the store manager, and was not able to resolve this matter. He said she was acting like he was trying to get medicine refilled for no reason. He was also made to feel like it was his fault that this has not been resolved, although he has called just about every day, that it was possible for him to call. Without his medications he will soon get very sick, this is a diabetic medication, not a narcotic or anything that someone would want just to be taking it.
The consequences of his not having his medication have been a gradual rise each day in his blood sugar levels, and if he is not able to soon get his medications he will not be able to work, as he is a truck driver, you can drive when you have diabetes provided you are on pills not insulin, and your blood sugar levels have to stay under two hundred. If he is not soon able to get his medication he will lose his job, and we will have no income whatsoever. We will end up having to go live in the homeless shelter if they have room, if not we will end up having to live in our vehicle, and it is not big enough for five people to live in, it is a small car. We do not have any relatives we could live with or any more resources to draw from, so this is an extreme hardship that is being placed on our family.
This is way too much stress for our family at this time. We have a son fixing to deploy to go over to Iraq and that alone is stressful, add that to not being able to get his medication, and my husband could end up with a heart attack or stroke or in the hospital. Or even dead. This would be an extreme economical problem for our family and if my husband also dies or has organ failure due to not being able to get his medications on time then he could end up needing extensive medical interventions which will be very costly, and we currently do not have any savings that would cover that kind of medical care.
He needs his medication before he can go back on the road, and he is due to be back on the road this coming week. It is illegal for him to drive with a blood sugar not under control. That falls under the DOT regulations, which is at the federal level. The section of the DOT handbook where that is found is in 391.43 under the FMCSR.

I was prescribed ** a narcotic pain medication for migraine and severe nerve damage in my back and elbows. I was only getting them for a couple of months from Walmart Pharmacy and I was only given 20-30 at a time w/ 1 refill. When I went to them for the very last time to pick up my refill on my medication I was told by them the refill was cancelled. I called my dr office and spoke to the nurse who told me I did have a refill. I then called the pharmacy back and told them according to the Dr I did have a refill, they again told me it was cancelled.
When I went in to see my Dr the next day I was told by him the pharmacist Chris had called him and the POLICE concerning my use of this medication? I was furious!!! Where does the pharmacist get the right to cancel someone’s prescription? And to call the Police? I was not overusing or abusing my medication in any way!! Where do they get the right? They had NO idea of my medical problems I am having. I told the Dr exactly that and he agreed. This was absolutely absurd! I will never go to a Walmart Pharmacy again! I was not given this medication before except for after surgery. I had only gotten 4 or 5 prescps from them in a 3 month period. I am going to try to do everything I can to report this. I was in pain w/out medication until I seen my Dr. I was furious. I felt violated by the pharmacist. They got the police involved. My Dr was very hesitant on giving me my pain medication due to this pharmacist. I was humiliated.

For many months, I have been purchasing ** from the local Walmart in Tell City, IN. I got tired of waiting in line and sometimes only getting a partial refill, so I went to another local pharmacy to get **. I was getting my insurance card out when the pharmacist asked me if I wanted to pay cash. He said a month's supply was only $8.75. I said, "Something is wrong, because Walmart has been charging me $25.49 each month." He said that there was no mistake so I paid cash.
Needless to say, I returned to Walmart and asked them if they had made a mistake and overcharged me. The lady pharmacist at Walmart said no, my share was $25.49 and my insurance paid another $25 for a total of $50.49. I then showed her my receipt from the other pharmacy and she looked at it and said $8.75 is below their cost and that I should buy it at the other pharmacy. I asked for a refund due to what I considered a gross overcharge ($50.49 at Walmart vs. $8.75 at a local pharmacy). Of course she refused to give me any refund. I then got on the internet to verify the lower price and sure enough, you can purchase this product for about the same price ($8.75) by mail. Thumbs down to Walmart!

I got a Rx filled for **, which I have been taking for thirty yrs. When I called in the refill and looked at the bottle, I noticed they had written it for twice the dosage. Instead of .1mg it was .2 mg, which could have been a terrible accident had I not known how to take the medication already, and so did not pay attention to the Wal-Mart Rx dosage.

Am also doing ** for cancer and took it in and after a week - had to have doc fax same one back as they lost that one too. Tried to talk to them and finally just gave up. AS we would of payed the 4.00 as I know it is on the list and told the girl and showed her but just blew me off. Was so mad I didn't even get her name. I worked for this store for 10 yrs and I know Lou ** would never accept this kind of disrespect. My husband needs his meds and they didn't offer to call or anything else and the deer in the headlight stare was enough to just burn me. Thanks for time.

First off I travel back and forth from Ohio to New Mexico. I have a Ohio id. That is not expired and is valid anywhere in the us. I have always gone to Walmart pharmacy. This time the women at the drop off desk refused to fill my meds. She claimed it was because of my Ohio id. She also very rudely said it's about time I get a New Mexico id! So I went to Walgreens and they filled it, no questions asked. I told them about the problem with Walmart. And they said it doesn't matter as long as the id isn't expired. Which made me even more upset. I plan to remove my monthly meds from Walmart even though Walgreens is much more money, they are not rude.

Saturday, 10/4/08, I went to Walmart Pharmacy to pick up my husband's blood pressure medication. He advised me that our physician's office had electronically submitted the prescription on 10/3/08 at his request. They were trying a few different prescriptions for him and this was one that was chosen by the physician and would be paid for by our medical insurance. I waited for about 10 minutes in line until it was my turn. There were 2 women waiting on customers and at least one or two pharmacists working that day.
When it was my turn, the woman motioned me forward. I told her I was picking up a prescription for my husband and that it had been submitted by our doctor's office. She turned around and pulled a bag from the racks on the back wall where prescriptions wait for pick up. She looks at it and says the note by the pharmacist indicated they did not fill the prescription because the insurance carrier said it was too soon and they would not pay for it. I explained to the lady that it could not be too soon, that there was a mistake, because we had not had a prescription for blood pressure medication filled yet. The dr. had given my husband samples of different medications until they found the one they wished to prescribe.
She left the counter, went to talk to the pharmacist and came back and said that I could pay full price for it if I wanted it, but the insurance wouldn't pay for it. I asked why the pharmacy did not call us when they got this response from the insurance company and the cashier stated, "We cannot call people, we are too busy." I left without resolution. My husband called our insurance company and through a search, they discovered that my dr.'s office had called in the same prescription twice, once on Thursday and once on Friday, when my husband spoke to them.
The rejection came as a result of the first prescription being filled a day earlier. My husband returned to Walmart Pharmacy Monday morning and they retrieved the first prescription that was called in from the rack on the wall. Had the cashiers looked, or had the pharmacist done any checking at all, they would have discovered they had 2 prescription requests for the same medication for my husband. Also, our insurance company could have said that they were requested to cover costs for the same medication a day earlier. It was the rudeness of the Walmart Cashiers and the lack of any customer contact or care by the pharmacist that angers me.
This isn't the first time this pharmacy has treated us like we do not matter and they are too important to try to resolve an issue with our prescriptions. (On a prior occasion, I had to wait about 4-5 hours for a prescription that was electronically submitted by dr's office to be filled because they do not put electronic submissions into the same line as hard copy prescriptions, thus making the wait longer and unfair to many customers). If you are too busy, hire more employees, or limit your customers. If we were advised they were too busy, then we would have gone elsewhere.

Went to Walmart Phamacy with my brother who (HAS CANCER) was checking on a prescription that he had left a day before. When he asked the pharmacist if the medicine had come in, the man screamed at him and said, I TOLD YOU TO COME IN AFTER 2. My brother asked him if he was not allowed to come in the store to check and the Walmart Pharmacist backed off and never apologized. I noticed a female customer walking by,who shook her head and rolled her eyes and gave the Walmart Pharmacist a, ARE YOU KIDIING ME LOOK! My brother asked him if his other prescription was ready and the man checked and said it was ready.
When I went in to pick up the prescription the next day the other Pharmacist who was present the day before said the other pharmacist was having a bad day. I own a business and deal with people every day and I can't afford to have a BAD DAY!

While physical damage did not occur, I have been the brunt of rudeness from this pharmacist, one too many times. I will be moving my prescriptions. On the first occasion I was trying to explain what the doctor had asked me to tell the pharmacist when I turned in the prescription and Brian interrupted me in mid-sentence. I ignored this and continued. He let out a huffy breath as if dealing with me customer was bothering him.
Again today I called to renew a prescription and was spelling my name because it is unusual. Brian interrupted me in mid-spelling with, what is your birthday? I ignored him again continuing spelling my name and then gave him my birthday. Because he had been so rude I asked him his name and his response was, Brian. No last name was given. So I called back and asked a clerk his last name so I could report him. If interpersonal skills is not a requirement for a pharmacist , it should be. He lacks the rudimentary respect for others that is necessary to get along in the world.
Because of his lack of civility, Wal Mart now has a black mark in my book. I was in the work force for 30 years as a special education teacher and many other jobs. This man should not be allowed to deal with the public and surely there are enough pharmacists looking for jobs that he could be replaced. I will now seek to make this known to the higher ups in this organization.

With so many people looking for a job now it looks as if Wal Mart could hire enought people to at least fill in for the milling people.
Like a lot of people standing there in line I'm a senior citizen and it hurts My legs and back to just stand there. There are benches there but if you sit down you loose your place in line, on top of that people who are standing there are sick or they would not be there.

The pharmacy is understaffed. I go there two or three times a month for prescriptions and last Thursday the line was out into the store isles. I went back on three occasions because I kept thinking the lines would be better later and the third time I went back I stood in line for 35 minutes because they had one lady working the register.
I realize you cant anticipate everything to staff accordingly but when a line builds up someone should be able to call for help. There was another lady in the pharmacy area milling around in the back but she waited until 8:45 to come try to help clear up the line. I dont think this is acceptable.

This is the second time I've had to register a complaint about this pharmacy and it's eveving staff! On Tuesday, 9-9-08, I called to inform them that there was an error in regard to the prescription placed the evening before. It took 3hrs. to get someone to answer the phone, only to be told that the pharmacist was too busy to address my concerns. So I went over there. The line was unbeleivable!!
After about 10 min., a lady approached me and asked if she could help me. As it turns out, she was the same one who apologized earlier when the pharmacist refused to come to the phone. Again-- the pharmacist said she was too busy to talk to me!!! It was not a life-or- death situation---
My problem is that I was told that the correction would be addressed approx. 30min. I Waited for ywo hrs.!! Along w/about 20 other people!! Some were coming in complaining that they were waiting since 1:00 for their prescriptions and finally came to the store to see what the problem was! THE STAFF,AS USUAL!!! When is someone going to do something about this pharmacy?? Does someone have to die to get something done? Walking away is not going to get the job done.. WHO hires these people?? I will not turn-tail and run. I will keep fighting these tyrants, called WALMART, until some kind of justice is done!! No matter how irrelevent your story is to others, make some noise--- sooner or later; someone WILL hear!!

There is normally only one pharmacist on duty and it normally only takes @ 20 minutes. The pharmacist is good. the problems lie with the counter attendants. I called in to have a prescription re-filled; the woman told me I had no prescription; I asked to speak with the pharmacist and she hung up. Little did she know I was in the store. I went to the pharmacy and asked why is there always a problem getting my prescriptions refilled? The pharmacist said he doesn't know. He asked me for my name and the prescription number. He went on to say the prescription had been cancelled by someone in the Baldwin Park store. The pharmacist called over to that store, only to be told someone hit the wrong key. I had to wait over an hour to get this prescription.
Today I open the bag and the medication is wrong. My prescription dosage is 25mg., the pharmacist gave me a generic brand with the dosage of 10mg. I have been to three different Wal-Mart stores to have my prescriptions filled or re-filled. Each time I have had nothing but problems. It takes them 45 minutes to an hour to fill the prescription whether it new or re-filled. I have tried calling in my prescriptions for re-fills. When I get there there is a problem. Stupid problems that are made by the Wal-Mart staff.
I was in the Baldwin Park Wal-Mart Pharmacy to get re-fills and was told that I had been given 60 tablets. I tell the clerk, No! I take one every morning and I am out now. So, What did the Torrance Wal-Mart do with the pills. I had the bottle in my purse. I showed it to the clerk. Always a problem and at my expense. This is the third prescription I've had filled at Wal-Mart with the doctor prescribing one dosage and the Wal-Mart pharmacist giving me a lower dosage.
I took a pill and about 2 hours later had a panic attack.

In July 2008, I went to the new Wal-Mart and had my prescriptions transferred for the sake of convenience. When I went to pick up my **, after calling it in several days ahead, they did not have a full bottle in stock and gave me a couple days worth. With the price of gas I prefer to limit my trips to the store each week, they did not even bother to call to say they were out.
The next month, in August, I tried to fill it again and they handed me a generic brand. I said that I could not take generic for this medicine and that I did not authorize the change. Then she said that because I refused the generic, my insurance tacked on a penalty and the RX would cost $100.00 instead the $35.00 co-pay. I told her to contact my insurance and explain the situation. I had tried generic in the past and they absolutely did not work in this case. They did not get anywhere with my insurance and were actually kind enough - after two hours - to give me 2 days worth of med.
So, when I came home I had to spend several more hours with my insurance - Blue Cross Blue Shield - to explain to them how dangerous it would be to change my medicine and potentially open the door to having multiple seizures! I had to speak to a supervisor who at 6:00pm left me a message telling me my prescription would be ready. Well the next day I went to Wal-Mart to pick it up - again they did not have a whole bottle and could give me three days worth. I said to the check-out lady, "would this always be a problem?" She said, "You have the option of getting it filled somewhere else." I walked over to the pharmacist and told her she should keep the medicine on hand. She promised to order two bottles. It is sad they are so big that they don't NEED our business!

I got a new prescription from my doctor 6-19-2008 and when it was filled it said 12 refills available, in other words the prescription was good for 12 months worth of medicine. When I got a refill on 7-21-2008 my refills said 9 available. So yesterday 8-25-2008 I asked the pharmacy tech why this number difference, she was unaware and she asked the pharmacy manager. [She] was very rude. I told her she was rude she said yes.
I turned around and asked to speak to her supervisor and she called security on me and I was told to never come in that store again. I went to the store manager and advised that I have previously had problems with receiving 1/2 the precriptions and having to come back, then I get this that I had to get more refills. I questioned how they were tracking the refills if 12-1=9.

As I said, I had just been discharged and was feeling weak and not well at all. When we arrived at the counter, I was told that they were to busy to get my perscription. I told them that it had been faxed in about an hour and a half ago. It was about 6 p.m. on June 16 2008.
When I asked why they didn't inform the hospital that they were too busy, when they got the fax. They were VERY RUDE about the whole thing, told me there was nothing they could do about it and to fill out a complaint form. They acted like they were tired of the situation themselves. I will not be back! I was sick! and didn't feel like running all over town to fill my perscriptions..but I DID! As a result from this, my parents have since moved their percription and pharmasutical needs else where.
The only physical damage was that I was already weak from laying in bed for 2 days on IV's and medicine etc. My mother would have done it for me but I had to sign for it. We were under stress in the first place with my dad having cancer surgery 2 days before. I think that's enough to make a good complaint.

I told her that I took ** several years ago, and it gave me bad effects. She snatched up the bag and scanned it, and the register wouldn't take it. Then she realized that mine was still hanging up, and this was in fact the wrong one. There was no apology or anything. Meanwhile I had my debit/credit card and my prescription card in my hand on the counter the whole time. Every time it looked like she was going to ask for it, I held it out to her and she ignored me. When she told me the price, I asked why it was so much, and if she needed my px card. She said in a very snippy voice, that I already gave it to them. I explained that I in fact did not. She said, "Well how did we get it then" in a very condescending tone. I explained that my doctor called it in. She looked at me like I was lying, so I explained that I had shopping to do here, and I asked if she could send the px here instead of RiteAid.
I told her that I've been buying this for years, and my px plan has not changed, and I asked why it would be this much with my plan. She actually hollered at me and demanded to know why I didn't give her my card in the beginning. I told her that she did not ask for it and that I've had it sitting in my hand, right on the counter top the entire time, and I've been waiting for her to take it or ask for it. She gave me a dirty look and huffed and puffed, and said, "Well you're just gonna have to wait for the pharmacist to come back!" I asked her how long that would be, and I told her that I'm in a hurry. She said that he just went out on a break.
Then she turned around and walked away and left me there. Another lady who I guess was a co-worker, but who wasn't in any type of uniform and I had no way of knowing who she was, began trying to fix the problem in the computer. The pharmacist came back and the 3 of them worked on it on a back computer, and then Nancy came back and rang me up. There was never one apology from anyone. There was no regard for my inconvenience or the way I was treated. I will never go back to that pharmacy again. They have lost my business permanently.

My husband dropped off a prescription for me on 08/07/08 at approximately 11:30 am was told prescription would be ready in 45 minutes. I had just got out of surgery so decided to go home. At 4:00 pm my husband went back to pick up my prescription and was informed they could not fill it cause the doctor forgot to put a date on it. my husband asked if they called the doctor they said no cause they needed the date on the original prescription. My husband then asked why they did not call us at home to make us aware of this problem. They said it was not their responsibility to call.
So then I called the doctors office, the nurse informed me they would call me back. She called me back said you are all set you can pick up your prescription now. That was about 5pm. At 5:45pm my father in law drove me to Walmart to get my prescription. When got to my turn I said I was there to pick up my prescription, gave him my name and he responded my prescription wasn't ready. There were still 3 clerks behind the counter even though the manager and another clerk went for a walk. So i asked if they could get my prescription ready now. Was told it would be a while. I was the only customer at the counter and the 3 employees were continuing to chat about the guy who was waiting on me and how he was going on vacation and what would they like him to bring back for them.
I then asked him to speak to the pharmacy manager. He told me the manager was busy. I said yes i know he is walking around the store chatting with one of his employees, but i would like him paged. The clerk then told me he was not gonna page him. I went and spoke with another manager in the Walmart store, who went behind the pharmacy then few minutes later she came out said I am sorry mam but they got your prescription ready now, I have canceled the call for the manager. I was not happy they canceled the call to the manager, but was feeling dizzy so decided i had better leave, especially since my 88 yr old father-in-law was waiting for me out in the car.
This is not the first time my husband and I have had problems with this pharmacy. Twice they filled my husbands prescription wrong. He is on 90 day prescriptions and when he opened his bottle 2 different times was only given 30 pills. They gave us a hard time one time on it was not gonna give him the other 60 pills and these are maintenance prescriptions for a heart condition. I told them maybe they should count their remaining stock and they would see they were 60 pills over, sure enough they were.
They are very careless at this pharmacy and this one employee in all honestly should not be allowed to be around medicines of this nature. I have no idea what they need for experience and all to work in a pharmacy, but they screw up a lot on peoples prescriptions, have talked to other people who they have also screwed up their prescriptions. Would like this pharmacy to be made to get their act together and take their job more seriously and cautiously and if this can't be done they should be closed down.

A pharmacist was clled to come to the store. An hour and a haft later the pharmacist arrived and opened the door. Many seniors had to leave without getting their medicine, because they were using the Bushnell shuttle.

I asked again, not ready yet. I had seen a bag lying there didn't know if it was mine. I waited 1 hr. in all. Asked again and she grabbed the bag and said it just came down the line. Very Poor service! My time is important too! On 7/23/08 I had a similar experience, I needed to fill a prescription for Eye drops. I waited 1 hr then they told me they did not have them. You tell me why they did not know right when the prescription in it would tell them. I was sitting right there the whole time. Very disappointing in Walmart. No damage, but very frustrating.

I returned in about two hours, nothing was ready. I talked to her about the percriptions, and she said they would be ready in two more hours. I told her I was leaving town and needed them. She talked to me in a very hateful voice and had a very bad attitude. At this time, the pharmacy manager overheard what was going on and had me out of the pharmacy in a few minutes. I turned a prescription in for 2mg ** @45 on July 22nd or 23rd. I still had some of the medication and would not run out till Friday (25th) or Saturday (26th). (Rx440629 date 6/24/08). I sent my wife Carolyn over to get it at 5:00pm on Friday the 25th of July. Wal-Mart indicated they had NO prescription. I asked my wife to put the pharmacist on. A Brian ** came on and exclaimed: I needed to have the Doctor write a prescription on every refill? He had to look the medication up and let me know this was the rule.
(remember this is a refill) I let him know, and I was getting hot about it? that I had been taking the drug for over one year and had never had to have the Doctor rewrite the prescription. It had always been call or faxed in. I went on to explain that now I was out and the repercussion of being out. He hung up on me while I was talking handing the phone back to my wife somewhere during the course of explaining. I then call him back on his land line to get his name and explained that I would be filling a complaint and that, in fact, he was incorrect about the ** re filling procedure. One of my other points was why he would not call me if he was unable to fill the prescription or my Doctor.
On 06/28/08, the next Monday, I received a call from my Doctors nurse, exclaiming that I had used abusive language in the exchange with Brian **? Since I never cuss at anyone, I am unsure what constitutes abusive language? I feel that hanging up on someone is an unprofessional act and warrants a complaint. I feel that not warning the customer about protocol or at least calling his doctor so they can call me warrants a complaint. I had switched this prescription from Tom Thumb to Wal-Mart thinking that I would receive, at the very least, the same service. Please let me know how I should have handled this since not refilling this prescription only hurt me. Had he not indicated to my doctor that I use abusive language, I would, More than likely had dropped it. Now this is but the first of several complaints that I will send to make sure everyone knows.

I thought everything was straightened out but when I called to refill my prescriptions I couldn't get them refilled because the phone numbers did not match. So I had to wait until the next day to talk to a human. My prescriptions were on hold. They could not even explain why. I had to go over all my information again. It really makes my nervous that they can not get my medicene straight. Two of my prescriptions are for anxiety and depression. I have some really bad side effects. I was told I didn't have anything. I told them I had hand carried them in at 4:30, they searched. They found both on top of their computer, where incomplete percriptions are placed. I was told that they could not fill the order because the volume had not been put down. They told me, they would call to get it complete, and would call me back if they received an answer. I didn't hear anything.
The next day I called my doctor, at about 1:00pm and talked to the nurse. She told me that she had just talked to the pharmacy and everything was fine. I returned to the pharmacy at 4:00pm. I was told I didn't have anything. They searched and found them on top of their computer. I was talking to a young man, and another over heard, and he said that he had talked to the nurse and had received the rest of the percription, and put it back, and there they stayed,in the pile of incomplete percriptions.
I took my percriptions to another Wal-Mart and they were filled. My complaint is about customer service, at this pharmacy. I have never seen a retail outlet run so poorly, in my 38 years of retail experience. [Their] managing pharmacist, Keith M., might be a good pharmacist, but is not a good retail manager. He is not a people person and it reflects on the people working under him. I understand sales, labor and bonus aspects of retail, including pressure of upper management to meet expections, BUT YOU NEVER PUT THEM BEFORE THE CUSTOMER! The only individual, of the whole lot, who shows any promise, is Vanessa, she does not roll her eyes and make faces when taking care of customers.
I have never been there, when it is staffed right, and on several occasions they don't have what is needed. I was told by the pharmacist that the customer before me bought a great amount of it. WHAT A MANAGER! No damage occurred. But that pharmacy lost a customer and gained a lot of bad publicity.

After 2 days of giving my child 2ml per dosage, the 60ml bottle was practically finished. I called the doctor and she said the prescription was for 7 days.
I called Walmart and was told that the medicine was filled for 3 days per the doctor's prescription and to use it sparingly. How do you MEASURE medicine sparingly? Also, when I thought about it, I realized that the seal was already broken on the bottle and it wasn't full when I got it. The pharmacist denied any fault or wrong doing when I told her this. I brought 5 routine prescriptons to WalMart and asked for the cost of getting them filled. The prescriptions were for high blood pressure, high cholestrol, and high sugar. The assistant asked me to return in about 15 minutes. When I returned she said it would be about $85 to get them filled. I asked her to fill them. When I got home I found that out of the 5 prescriptions written for 90 day quantities, 4 of the five were only filled for 30 days.
I returned to the pharmacy explaining I was shorted on the quantities. I was told that due to insurance restrictions I could only get the 30 days. My complaint is that since the prescriptions were written for 90 days I thought they would be filled as written. I was never told that they would only be filled for 30 days. They told me there wasn't anything they could do. They couldn't give me back the forms to take some where else because they were already filled.
This makes a hugh difference in the annual costs of my prescritions. When I spoke with the manager, Anita Hayden, the next day she even implied that it was MY responsibility to check and see if I received the quantity I was expecting. I certainly have never had to count my medication when filled by other pharmacies to see that they had been filled per the doctor's orders.

While I have had more than one experience with customer UN-service at our local Walmart, today I decided to kiss Walmart goodbye. While I do save on prices, the gas to make repeated trips for prescriptions (only to find them not filled) I've decided the trip just isn't worth the gas anymore. I plan to shop in my home downtown.
Today waited in the usual 20 minute wait line for my prescription (which was supposed to be there a week or so before) still was not there. They had promised that it would be ready the next time I came in so I said, OK. Since it was not there, one clerk said that I probably waited out longer than the week they require to hold prescriptions. (I've already picked up prescriptions, which were phoned in, as much as over two weeks later).
I went back to the order window and the pharmacist told me that I probably waited out the TEN days they require them to be picked up. Since I had driven the 20 mile drive the second time and waited out the 15 - 20 minute line the second time, I decided I was not going to make the drive there anymore. I plan to pull my precscriptions and take them to my local pharmacy where I can receive gas credit with my purchse.
This Walmart at Buckhorn, Pa really needs a revamping of both their pharmacy. Both the pharmacy and customer service are in dire need of more employees to care for the load. I guess they think that their lower prices will make up for people's loss of time and/or gasoline. I predict that, with the escalation of fuel prices, many people will make the conclusion to shop locally.
Loss of 40 miles of gas and and two hours time.

I am a sufferer of Chronic Daily Headaches; diagnosed two years ago in August, 2006. My chronic pain doctor has me on several medications to try and keep the headaches to where I can function with moderate pain on a daily basis. One of the meds that I take daily is **, a narcotic pain medication that is a relative to **. My insurance will only pay for my medications every 30 days, and there are time that I may run out of my ** a few days early. The reason for this is because there are days I have migraines that are worse than a regular daily headache and cause me to have take more ** to keep the pain under control. My doctor is aware that I sometimes have to take more than what my directions call for on these painful days and directs me to do as I need to stay as pain-free as possible.
So, getting to my issue with Wal-Mart, if my insurance will not pay because it has not yet been 30 days (and they WILL NOT pay even 1 day early), then the clerk will tell me that there is a future fill date because of my insurance. I always tell them to go ahead and fill it because I am out of the pills and I will just pay cash so that I am not in danger of having my pain out of control. EVERY TIME this happens, the clerk will tell the pharmacist of my request, and the pharmacist will tell me We have to get an OK from you Dr. to do this (except when the pharmacist Susie is working, she goes ahead and fills it because she has compassion for those of us who must live daily in pain due to illness. Thank you, Susie).
So, here I am, calling my Dr. to have him talk to the pharmacist to OK to fill the pills. Dr. tells the pharmacist every time they talk with him them that its OK to fill it a few days early, but they always make me call him anyway. The problem I have with the situation is this: Every time this issue arises, they pharmacy staff is EXTREMELY, UNBELIEVABLY, RUDE. Not only do they treat me as though I am a drug-seeking, pain pill-popping addict, they do so in front of anyone who may be in hearing distance--which if you've ever experienced Wal-Mart pharmacy, you would know is a line full of sick people who have been/will be waiting for up to 3 hours for their medications.
Yesterday I went there to have my ** filled and they refused to fill it because it was ONE DAY EARLY. I had to again call my Dr. to have him call and give his OK. Not only were the pharmacy staff hateful to me about it, they were hateful to my Dr. as well. Because I needed my pills ONE DAY EARLY. I sat for over two and a half hours waiting for them to fill my pills, crying because I was rudely treated by the pharmacy staff as though I was drug-addict. It was the most awful feeling I have felt in a long time. I'm moving my meds over to Rite-Aid on my next fill. I hear they have compassion for those who are chronically ill, so I'm hoping to not have to go through that type of treatment again.

I have lived in a lot of states and towns and always preferred Wal-Mart pharmacies to any other. I have recently moved to Junction City, KS and on MANY occasions there has been a problem with prescriptions not being ready when called and was told they was, and with knee surgery having to be in a line for literally 4 hours. This last and recent time was the last straw. I am highly addicted to ** and was needing withdrawal meds because I wanted no part of being on that drug, I dropped it off at 5pm. The pharmacy closes at 7. I was not happy that they didn't have enough help as usual to fill it for me going thru horrible withdrawals but was reassured they would have it done by 10am the next morning.
If you know anything about ** withdrawals, it causes severe seizures, burning and crawling skin and the feeling of losing your mind. I called at 10am to see if it was ready. They told me it hadn't even been processed in the computer to call back at 1:30 and then they proceeded to tell me it would be another hour and half. So I called at 3pm and it still wasn't ready. Now, I was feeling like walking death by that time, drove there to just get my written script back because another pharmacy promised to help me and they closed in 1 hour. At 5pm, Wal-Mart still didn't have me scripts ready.
I really don't think it takes 24 hours to fill 30 pills to save a person's life and I think something should be done about them endangering persons lives. I feel for someone without insurance because I know its cheaper at Wal-Mart but what if they actually needed their script. What would you do, drive to an ER just because Wal-Mart is too cheap to hire enough help to help their customers? All in all this has happened over 7 times in less than 4 months. People's lives could be at stake and I think something should be done about this.

I get all my medications at Wal-Mart pharmacy in Chillicothe, Mo. I have had several problems with them. The most recent being, I called my meds in on Saturday, reason being that I had just went through my pills to fill my weekly supply. The lady on the phone told me I might want to call back on Monday, why I was calling them in on Saturday, not to be picked up right then but so they could have them ready and waiting.
I informed her I would be changing my medications over to another pharmacy as I had had too many problems with them. She started talking, but I was in no mood to hear it so i politely hung up. Monday comes, I had to leave for an appointment, when I get back, after pharmacy hours I get a phone message saying I need to know if you want us to use your card, a credit card that is from child support, if he does not pay the support there is a 0 balance, the message said call us back by 4p, and then she went on to say well I am going to go ahead and mail these out.....
Now here is the problem... I have 2 insurances.... I would have debated the cost due to the insurances, besides a couple weeks ago I was charged $22. for prescriptions that should have be no charge, same pharmacy, but we had already paid the $ before I could complaim. Well this time, they went ahead and charged my credit card, without my consent, just because I had used that card there before they figure they had the right to use it without my permission. WHAT IS THE DEAL... they can not do that can they??? I never agreed to them using the card, it was $40. which I do debate.... Now thank God I had that amount in there, but now that money was intended to be used to pay for gas to go to a doctor appt 125 miles away. Now what do I do no money for gas, but I will have those meds......
I think they have no right to use my card unless I OK it... I am BOILING mad, they don't open till 9am and I have another hour to go before I can call them, but you can bet they are going to get a real good chunk of my mind... and I will take all my business elsewhere.....they are terrible as far as I am concerned......they need to have there license PULLED!
I have yet to know the consequences, but I guarentee, I will fight this and I will be heard.

Had I not contacted the dr the next day I could have gotten all messed up taking the wrong meds. The dr was beside himself that the pharmacy gave me ** instead of **. He instructed me to immediately stop taking the ** to avoid having my system messed up and the risk of suicide and many other possible side effects.

My meds were due to be filled on the fifteenth. I called in my meds and was ask if there were any I needed right away, I said my heart pills, when I went to pick up all my meds they didn't have heart meds and said they didn't know I needed them, {when I was on the phone I told them I only had two days left, and that was on the 12th} I had to go back the next day, and was told they only had enough for 3 days, I was told they would have the rest in three days, I went back on friday and they said they had to order them and they would be in on monday,
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS COMPANY, I am going back to my little home town Pharmesy where I should have stayed but I thought being a large company would be better. I hope the small pharmacies come back,
I ended up making 4 trips to get my meds and with the price of gas and living on a fixed income {I'm 60 and disabled} it was very costley, AND I WAS VERY UPSET WHICH I DIDN'T NEED, I live in the country.

My mother was just dischard from the hospital and like always we go to wal mart to fill her perscriptions. When we got there we gave them to them and they said about one hour wait. We said does mom have to be here? They said no. So my sister took her home. Then they aske me what the Dr.,s name was because they could'nt read his name. So I called my sister to get the correct spelling of his name. I told them what it was and then they said I couldn't get them till Monday. But Mom needed them to take at bedtime. So they said the perscripition would be 100.00 plus. I said I don't care because she has to have them. Then she said Mom's insurance has been canceled. So I got 5 pills till Monday.
So i called my sister because she helps with the insurance. My sister then called me back and said we can pick her medicine up tommorrow. So my sisiter was looking at the perscripition and the wrong Dr. was on it. Well Mom keeps the name of her medicine in her wallet in case of emergency. Well I went back to Wal-Mart to tell them about it and I was told that Cynthia Swaancina told the lady to put the wrong Dr.'s name on it because she couldn't read it. Well this happened again.
I am sorry to complain but this is very nerve racking because if my Mom was to get sick and we have to call for emergency help this wouldn't match her medical files because we have to carry them with us at all times now. I would like to say We go to Wal-Mart all the time to fill her medicine and this is the first time the has happened. But two days in a row is uncalled for. Oh but once before they gave Mom's medicine to another customer and we had to wait for a couple of days for it.

My doctor called in a new pherscription at 11 a.m. Igave them 4 hours to get it ready then went to pick it up and waqs told that in store customers have first rights and I would have to wait 25 min. I talked to Customer Service supervisor and they said ther has been a few complaints and she was sorry but nothing she could do. I was upset so I told them next time I would go to the Wal-Mart in Sparta, Ill. on Rt. 4.
So I went there tonight at 4:45p.m. and went back to pick them up at 5:30 p.m. and they told me they weren't ready it would be another 20 min. I sat and waited, checked back once more and was told they were working on them. I asked if was first come basis and they said yes. Then I asked why did 15 people that were behind me already get there pills.
Finally at 6:30 p.m. I got my pills and was on my way out the door. I find that is a bit much. If they can't fill them in a timelky manner I'll go elsewhere. Plus take all of my business with me. And let others know if they need their pills in a hurry best not take them there. I like the store otherwise.

I used to think that only Coffeyville, Kansas Wal-Mart had service issues until I moved to Idaho. My father who always got his medicine from Wal-Mart every month went to pick up his RX and was given my grandfather's (his father's) meds. A mistake that could happen to anyone except my grandfather died in 1989. Then after moving to our new state I went to have a RX filled for my migraines. I realize that if you don't know anyone who suffers from migraines or have them yourself you might not realize that taking to ** and going to bed wont work. However, the pharmacy, after accepting the prescription call in from my doctor did not have the ** that my doctor ordered. I waited with my head pounding for over an hour to be told that they would have it in on Saturday. This was Wednesday.
There were no other pharmacies open by this time and my doctor's office had closed. I ended up going to the Emergency room for a shot and a bill of a little over $350.00. Oh and the kicker, when I went to pick my med up on Saturday it wasn't there. In fact it didn't come in until the following Monday. I placed a call to my doctor and I will never get another prescription at Wal-Mart. P.S., This prescription is only given in 10ml amounts. In is a nose spray. At Wal-Mart it is $68.00 for 10 doses. Guess what??? Wal-Mart charges more for it than any other pharmacy in the area.

I just came across this website, I thought I would let people know what happen to me when I went to my local Wal-Mart pharmacy. I have never been so mad at someone, like I was at this pharmacy. I took my Grandmother to get her medicine for panic and anxiety attack. She takes **. She really needs them since her husband died. I walk with her over there to drop her medicine off, and we walk around while it was getting ready. She went over there to get her medicine and the lady pharmacy was very rude to her. Telling her that she didn't need to be taking this medicine and it was addictive. Well, Who is she to tell my grandmother anything. Her doctor wants her to take this medicine. As if the doctor was wrong and didn't know what he was doing.
The pharmacy lady took it upon herself to call my grandmother's doctor and tell him that she don't need to be taking this medicine. Who does this lady think she is. My grandmother really needs this medicine and don't any other medicine, but for her blood pressure meds. Does a pharmacy have a right to be downright rude, which upset my grandmother even more, that she called her doctor. My grandmother started having a panic & anxiety attack right there in Wal-Mart. All the customer were looking and were upset to see how the lady pharmacy had made a 60 year old woman upset. The other customer that were waiting for their medicine started making comments about how they would not be back. I told the pharmacy lady to just give my grandmother her medicine and we will not be back.
Then I took my grandmother home and later that day she called me to tell me that some of her ** were missing. I came right over, cause by then I was really mad. Sure enough, there were 27 pills in the bottle, which should have had 30. When I called the pharmacy at Wal-Mart to ask why she only had 27 pills, not 30. They tried to say she miscounted. I counted, so I know there were only 27, and WHY would we lie about this. I am a nurse and I know pharmacy do make mistakes. The pharmacy then tried to say someone must have took them.
My grandmother lives alone, and no one could have got her medicine. I Damn sure wouldn't have. They didn't want to give her the other 3 pills that were missing. I believe that the pharmacy lady is abusing medicine. Something needs to be done about this. I have ask around town and this is not the first time this has happen. People were missing pills out of their bottle. I wouldn't EVER go to Wal-Mart Pharmacy for anything. This Pharmacy needs to start drug testing everyone and get to the bottom of people's medicine being took, by people we trust.

Somone could have let me know sooner. I may have been able to make it to another Pharmacy before they closed. The entire staff of the Wetumpka Walmart Pharmacy needs to be replaced with people who actually know what they are doing and care about the people they are serving.
Lucky for my son, his Dr. had given him a breathing treatment in the office. When we called the Dr. we were told that it would be ok to start the medication tomorrow. I only hope the medication comes in as promised. If not we will be scrambleing for another pharmacy to fill the prescription.

Meredith says it is the policy there not to accept any kind of payment over the phone. I explained that since it is Sunday and banks are not open to wire money a card would seem like the logical way to pay for medication. Is there someone who can investigate this policy which is unique to that store. IThis is not the image that Walmart advertises about being there for people on a limit income. It appears to be false Advertising.
This refusal could result in another storke for my brother at any time since it will take another two days to get him the money when my bank opens on Monday.

Out of all the pharmacist at this particular Wal-Mart, I have found ONLY ONE - Patrick - who is helpful. However, he works only during the week. My doctor made the decision to switch the dates of my regular medications from th 15th to the 10th, my insurance WOULD pay. I discussed this earlier during the week with Patrick and was assured there would be no problem. However, when I went this morning (10th) to refill my meds, the pharmacist there REFUSED, saying I would have to have a doctor call and state it was okay to fill it today.
This being Sat., I had to call the doctor on call for my doc. He did call Wal-Mart and this pharmacist STILL refused to fill it. He kept my presciptions there, not returning them to me.
I am disabled, I depend on my medications to live and when I'm assured that everything is okay, I feel violated when a weekend pharmacist makes it very clear that he will not fill my medications. I'm sick. But if Wal-Mart cannot do any better than this and if I can only have my meds filled during the week, I'd much rather go to another store that put up with this!

Went to Walmart today to get 3 RX filled. I have been getting RX's filled at the Lisbon, CT Wal-mart for 6 years. I asked about 1 RX because they did not have it in stock last time and I had to get the script back and get it filled at CVS. This time they had it in stock and told me 30 min.
I have always had positive experiences at this Wal-mart except 1 male pharmacist that worked there has absolutely zero cumtomer service or people skills. I came back 35 min. later and get in line. The cashier/tech working is very rude, curt and short with the customers. I realize they are very busy, but it was NOT me they were rude to. It was an elderly lady. I was two people behind.
When I get up there and get the total, it was far off from what I expected.....the cashier/tech did give me the option of refusing the high cost RX because I was not aware of the cost. However, I paid. I came home and looked up my benefits on my insurance and the pharmacy medications and it is on the list of approved drugs that are acceptable to my insurance. I was supposed to have to pay 25% co-pay on this med. Instead, they charged me almost the full price. Now, I understand that they are connected somehow with the insurance companies and the discounts.....but I have an extremely hard time believing this was my insurance companies fee. I have emailed my insurance company to find out what the deal is and will call tomorrow when their main office is open.
I did call Wal-mart and believe I got a male pharmacist and he was rude and arrogant. I understand what he is saying about the prices, at the same time what he said IS NOT exactly how it works. If I get feedback from my insurance company that the incorrect price was charged and further information, I will be contacting the state attorney general's office, my insurance company and other agencies in regard to the inappropriate behavior of the person I spoke with. It may be as it is and I will accept the answer of the insurance company. I will NOT continue to receive the rudeness at the pharmacy. I have always been treated nicely at this pharmacy by the regular employees and the female pharmacists. However, this newer employee and the one gentleman are totally out of line!!!

I have Medicaid and they told me that they could fill my **, but I had to wait until tomorrow for my pain medicine, since I just had a prescription a few days ago for my tooth.
I go back first thing that next morning, cause I was in severe pain and was hurting. There was no one there to open up the store at 9:00 am that morning. Me and other customers were complaining. I overheard the pharmacy tech talking about me saying that it wasn't their fault no one was there to open up. We all had to wait on someone to come and open the store. After they open I told them my name and was there to pick up my ** that was on file.
While I was waiting I notice the pharmacy on the phone and she called me over there to tell me she WAS NOT going to fill my pain meds and she called my doctor and she throw my prescription away. I ask her what the problem was and she could not give me one. The day before when I drop the prescription off she never once said there was a problem with filling my prescription. I thought since I was on Medicaid, that was the problem and I offered to pay cash for them, but she never once gave me a reason why she throwed my pain medicine away.
I am not a person who takes pain medicine on a daily basis or anything. My sister was there with me when all this happen and she is a nurse and she told the pharmacy just to give us the prescription back and we will get it filled somewhere else but the pharmacy told us "no." My sister told her that she was breaking the law, and she told my sister that she didn't know the law. My sister told her off.
I WILL NEVER- EVER GO TO WAL-MART FOR ANYTHING ELSE. I believe this pharmacy is using pain medicine for herself and she just got her 30 **. My pain medicine that I needed. I went back to the same doctor and talk to him about what happen and the pharmacy made it out like I was abusing pain medicine. So, the doctor gives me some non-narcotic pain medicine. I was unable to pick up my re-order for a week. After a week, I went into Walmart (still very sick) and wearing a medical mask to prevent infecting others with VIRAL PNEUMONIA. I had just been released from the hospital. I stood in the Pick-Up Line at pharmacy for over 15 minutes. I finally got to the window and the tech asked for my name etc. I told her. She did not seem to understand me, and asked how to spell my name several times. I told her several times. She said in an extremely rude manner We have NOTHING for you! When I said that I had phoned it in last week, she said in a loud and angry voice, "BY LAW WE HAVE TO RETURN ALL MEDICATIONS TO SHELF AFTER 7 DAYS."
This woman could SEE how sick I was, could see I was wearing a medical mask, could SEE the DROP OFF line was at least a 40 minute wait and that there were several BABIES and ELDERLY in that line that I would be in close contact with. I asked her, Can I drop this (new prescription for antibiotics FROM HOSPITAL) off with YOU as I am very sick and your window is RIGHT NEXT TO the Drop Off window? And she BARKED at me, "NO, GO TO THE END OF THE LINE," and indicated I stand directly behind an INFANT, his mother and siblings in the Drop Off line.
This person LIED about a LAW that requires meds being returned to shelf after 7 days. This person put OTHERS in jeopardy by ordering me to stand in line with this dangerous and highly contagious form of pneumonia. This persons' attitude and demeanor was SO negative as to cause me to become physically ill in Walmart parking lot after leaving the store. I never received any notice that my prescription would NOT be available after seven days.
There was no economic damage to me, and little physical damage. I merely went to another pharmacy. As everyone knows, medicine is not cheap and some of us are lucky to have insurance to help us with that. And as a customer, I expect that when I pick up my medication at the pharmacy I should not have to worry about outdated medicine because you would expect them to keep track of that and you should not have to worry. After waiting until 5.pm was told they could only give 3 out of the 30. I was never told they were low on stock the day before. I told them that 3 would not do, because I am to take 2 per day by my doctor's advice. The pharmacist came out and was rude, told me that he didn't care what the doctor told me that the prescription said 1 per day, then told me I was not the only person to take that drug. I told him to cancel it and I would go to another store. He shrugged and went back to his throne.
I found the store manager and complained and got a number to a district manager. I called him and complained. He at first tried to blow me off, then as I got mad he stated he could get the drugs I needed at another store. I told him the one closest to my house was at I45 and West Rd. He asked me to wait and would call back. He called back and said it was ordered at the other store and they had the full amount. It took an hour to drive there. It was now 7 pm. I was told it would be ready in 30 mins. I walked around for 30 mins and got back in line. At 7:50 was told they were working on it. I called him back and got voice mail. At 8:15, I called again telling him I was still waiting. It had now become a passion to get the medicine, and at 8:30 he called back and said the pharmacist had told him it was done.
I didn't see my medicine until 8:50. I had been at at the store for almost 2 hours and the prescription had been placed for 3 hours. After waiting in their stores for 4 1/2 hours they still charged me $4. You could think they could waive a measly $4. Almost everyone in line was complaining and relating their stories about how they had been lied to and how the clerks and pharmacy workers are rude and arrogant. Most of the customers are older and on maintenance medications. We may be old and economically challenged but we don't have to take it! I will never enter any of the Walmart stores again.
I missed an important family gathering because I was lied to. I did not get home until 9:30pm. I had been off since 4Pm. I was ill all weekend because of this kind of treatment. My blood pressure was over 196 when I got home. This is dangerously high and could have caused a stroke or heart attack. I had informed my relatives to file a wrongful death suite against Walmart should that have happened. Someone like 20/20 should do an undercover story on this! I would like to have a class action law suit filed against Walmart. I believe it is time for them to made to pay for deceptive treatment to their customers. If Walmart won't keep their promises then they should be made to give a discount, or give it for free.

The pharmacy gave me someone else's prescription. This was a Sunday evening. We discovered the mistake at 6:15 p.m. and went back to the pharmacy to get the correct prescription and return the wrong one. The pharmacy closed at 6:00 p.m. I asked the customer service desk to get in touch with the pharmacist and have him/her come back to the store to correct the problem, as my son was out of his medication and needed to have it the next morning. The pharmacist refused to come back that evening and said that I would have to come back the next morning when the pharmacy reopened. I found this response to be totally unacceptable. This mistake was pure negligence.
My son who has ADHD will not be able to take his prescription in a timely manor. I'm also not sure if the person whose prescription I have, may have my son's, which is a controlled substance.

Wal-Mart must not care anymore for anyone's business in the Pharmacy. On 3 separate trips to the pharmacy the waiting period for medication has been more than 2 1/2 hours or more. The first problem we had on a Friday afternoon after waiting on the bench for 2 1/2 hours for what they did the order was not completely filled and when husband arrived at home found that some had been completely left out causing us to have to drive more than 20 miles to go back to store for medication needed.
Then yesterday I was told when I dropped a prescription off for my mother at the window I was told it would be 20 to 30 minutes if I wanted to wait. After one hour when I ask it was not ready it would be about another 20 to 30 minutes. This was a simple medication for ** for pain for a broken arm.
I couldn't wait another 20 to 30 minutes because I had a child to pick up at school so had to drive 14 miles and return back to store an hour later. I went to pick up 2 prescriptions today that I dropped off 2 days prior. They could not be found by the pharmacy cashier. This was after waiting approx. 25 min. in line. The RX's were for my severe back pain which worsened due to the extended time on my feet. The cashier sent me down to the drop off window to talk to someone down there. Again, I had to wait. Approx. 20 min. I finally got up to the pharmacist and he started to do some searching. At that time, I told him I had to sit down. My back was hurting. In the mean time, I called my Dr.'s office and explained to them what was going on. After the nurse talked to the Dr., she called me back and said that the Dr. that I saw was not there, and the other doctor would not approve a refill. (It would be considered a refill on their records)
Meanwhile, I sat waiting for the pharmacist another 20-25 minutes. He said that they did not have the prescriptions. I asked him what he thought I should do and he became very defensive, irritated and rude with me. He said that as far as he is concerned, the prescriptions never existed and none of the people behind the counter remembered seeing me on the day I dropped them off. I told him that I was actually there two times that same day because I picked up my aunts RX's for her. He asked me her name, I told him, he looked it up and indeed saw that she had RX's picked up that day which I would have had to sign for. Still he continued to imply that I was a liar and was trying to pull a fast one. He even asked me what day I went to the doctor, and why didn't I take the RX's in the same day, and why did I wait 2 or 3 days? I told him I didn't feel I needed to answer to him. However, the truth is, I went in once to pick them up but the line (as usual) was extremely long and moving very slowly. Also, I don't have insurance, and after paying for the Dr. appointment, I didn't have the money to pay for them. I asked him for a number I could call to complain. He told me there was no number. I just walked out at that point, furious and in tears, and not to mention, in pain.

I filled my normal prescription of ** 5mg tablets on 12/05/07. I have filled this same prescription at the same store on 3 previous occasions with NO issues. On 12/5 I took a pill -it tasted different, I became very sick (vertigo like symptoms), and developed hives/swelling on my hands/arms. The symptoms passed - I took a second pill - no problems at all. I figured it was a fluke reaction. Before bed, I take my 3rd pill of the day (still 12/05). Funny taste and same bad reaction. I dumped all the pills out and noticed that there were about 10 pills that had different ID numbers (everything else was identical). I call the pharmacy to tell them about the ID number difference and about the side effects I am having.
The pharmacist (Steve, I think) says there is NO WAY that the pills can be different because he opened a new bottle to dispense my meds. Insist that something is wrong with the pills and that I will bring them down in the morning to have them checked. 12/6 I go to the pharmacy but the manager is not in- he'll be in on 12/7. I show my hands and the bottle of pills to the pharmacist in front of me- he refuses to do anything at all. He says the manager has to deal with it.
12/7 I go back to the pharmacy. Mike the manager is in. I show him my hands and the pills in question. He says that pharmacist who filled the prescription used the last of an old bottle plus some of a new bottle to fill my script (this is in direct contrast to what the first pharmacist said). I asked him to PLEASE double check the pills because I am definitely having a reaction to these particular ones. He assured me 4 times it was 'just a coincidence' and that the pills were definitely ** 5mg. OK. I go home and take one just to see if he's right. I get hit with all the same symptoms (only worse). No I am steaming.
I went online and did some searching of my own. After 20 minutes (not much effort at all) I come across the mystery pills (pic, ID and everything). It was ** 50MG TABLETS. Big difference as far as I know. So, I call the pharmacist.... When tell him what I found, he is baffled. Can't understand how it could've happened. Is willing to explain to my doctor about the mistake. What if I had a documented allergy to **. What IF something serious had happened? I know nothing permanent or serious happened as a result of this but the last 5 days have really stunk. I have been sick and swollen. I have a 2yr old and a 3 month old that I couldn't care for because I was so sick. If one person had taken the time to look into my issue, they might have caught the mistake sooner. When I caught the mistake as soon as I got my meds, I called them and asked them about it; all the pharmacist had to say was someone outside their pharmacy had stolen some. The bag had not been opened throughout the transfer.
Then she accused me of holding onto the missing 22 so I could receive more. I was extremely upset, but what could I do? That was dropped. The next time I got some meds just 2 weeks later I was given **, but the problem was I was give 2 of the same bottles, same mg, same filling date etc but the pills were 2 different colors. If that was the case, why was it put into a lower dose bottle the same dose as the other bottle. She did nothing for us and just kept accusing me of switching bottles. On November, 20, 2007, I went to fill my pain medication that my doctor had called in. I realized I was filling it a day early, only because we were going out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday. I was advised by this pharmacist that I could not have it because the insurance would not fill it and I explained the only reason I was filling it early was because of the holiday. I even offered to pay for enough to get me through the weekend and she said I could not because of it being a controlled substance, which still didn't make sense to me. I would think I would have the right to pay for my own medication or run it through my insurance. She then assured me it could be filled at another Walmart as it could be transferred once. However, what she didn't do is inquire as to what state I would be going to to make certain what the laws in that state are. In the state of Texas, a controlled substance prescription can't be transferred without the actual prescription. Walmart had actually filled the prescription and no longer had the orginal. This second pharmacist, before faxing anything, should of verified with the Walmart in Austin, TX. I even gave him their phone number. So now I know I'm not going to get home in time to get my pain medication, so I called Walgreens in Joplin, MO because they are a 24 hour pharmacy and Walmart tells Walgreens this can't be transferred because it's been transferred to Walmart in Texas. I can't get in touch with my doctor because it's a holiday weekend. They have totally messed this prescription up.
This pharmacy caused me considerable amout of pain as well as other types of withdrawal problems, because this is a medication you don't just stop as you need to have a doctor monitor this. This just made what was supposed to be a family holiday very painful and ill.

He is very sick from the chemo like treatment and in pain from the fall down the stairs. There was something wrong with the prescription and he felt that the person waiting on him was rude. So he insisted on speaking with a manager. The pharmacy clerk refused to allow him to speak to a manager or supervisor and proceeded to argue with my husband. The customer, my husband, yelled at the pharmacy clerk. The clerk got the pharmacist and the pharmacist told my husband he could purchase the drugs or get out of the store.
My husband said he didn't want to deal with the bad attitude at Walmart and insisted that they transfer all his prescriptions to CVS. My husband sat down outside of the pharmacy inside the store waiting for them to transfer the prescriptions and three police men arrived to escort him out of the store and proceeded to harass and humiliate him in front of the store. He is banned from Walmart forever. The pharmacist expected my husband to purchase the medicines even after calling the police. Walmart transferred the prescription to CVS Pharmacy. CVS pharmacy was very expensive and CVS told my husband he would have to go to Walmart to have them send the prescription somewhere else.
I called the Walmart pharmacy on 10/11/07 to request that they send the prescription to another pharmacy. The clerk asked for the customer name and not mine. The clerk explained after putting me on hold several times that I had to go to CVS to transfer the prescription because Walmart did not have it. The clerk on the phone continued on telling me, an unidentified caller, the following about the customer, Frank **. "Oh that man he was so awful and he caused so many problems in the pharmacy."
I asked the clerk if she was there and witnessed the incident and she said no. I did not get her name. I told her since she was not there and I was not there she was gossiping. She told me that she would report me to the health authorities because I accused her of gossiping about a client. I asked her the reason she needed my name and she said she was required to call our health care professional to tell them that we are causing problems at the pharmacy and would have to report us because she was not gossiping. I told her I was done talking to her and I hung up.

Walmart Pharmacy only provided 90 pills instead of 180 on a three-month Medicare refill. When I called to have the order properly filled, I was told that (a) I must have lost the pills (b ) Walmart doesnt make mistakes and (c) I would have to pay for the missing pills if I wanted them.
When I threatened to fill a complaint with te NY State Health Dept and pharmacy regulatory agencies, the pharmacy manager? told me I could have the order made complete without charge ONLY if I opened the bottle and counted out the pills right in the store. Not only is this practice unsanitary but violates all standards of good pharmacy practice. Walmart pharmacy may not make mistakes, but Walmart recently paid a $127 million malpractice judgement to a patient was killed by a Walmart Pharmacy error. If they can't get the number of pills correct in a bottle, how do we know what other errors are being made?

If I had not read the paper included with it I would have had a severe reaction to the medicine. When I called them He said I would have to take it up with my Doctor.
Second thing is he has a habit of shorting me on my medicine. It is always just an accident. Then he makes you feel like you did something wrong when you bring it up. Like I need to take extra Potassium or thyroid medicine.
Third He would not call a doctor about a mix up with my scripts. I called the doctors office and they said to have him call back. He had called the day before a holiday and the doctor wasnt in. He refused to do it. He just kept stating I ALREADY CALLED THEM. Apparently he doesn't think he should have to call more than once no matter what happens.

Recently I transferred an online prescription from Costco to Walmart, with the new prices I was hoping to save money. On the 4th day of transferring, I went to Walmart, stood in there half hour to 1 hour line. The girl couldn't find the prescription. She told me it had just now popped up. I said after 4 days it is just now popping up? Strange, so I said I would pick it up tomorrow. Next night I went back to Walmart, stood in the line (at least there was only 3 of us) stood another 30 minutes, this time the girl sends me to the pharmacist, he asks me what I needed, how do I know what I needed, she just sent me there.
So I had to repeat my story I was there to pick uup a prescription. The damn prescription was still in their computor, nobody had called Costco to even transfer it. He was very nice said he would call right now. I told him never mind, I would leave my prescriptions at Costco, that after 5 days it should have been filled. I have a feeling Walmart will be pulling a lot of crap to get out of offering $4.00 prescriptions. My friend in another state couldn't get the $4.00 asthma inhaler, Walmart went to a more expensive one telling her it was environmentally safe. She asked them how it could be safer when you put it in your mouth an inhale. I'm guessing we are not the only ones getting screwed by this company. I should have known better, I hate Walmarts.

The doctor's office called in an Rx for my 3 year old daughter for ** at 5:00 pm so that we would be assured that she would begin the med in the required 24 hr period. When we arrived at the pharmacy 2 hours later it was still not ready because they said they were missing her birthdate and decided not to fill the Rx. We had our other daughter's Rx filled there 2 days prior so all our info was in the computer. When we arrived they said they would now process it and it would be ready in about 2 hours at which time we phoned and were told it would not be ready until morning.
The reason the doctor called in the Rx was because it was already 5pm as we were leaving his office and this med needs to be started within a 24 hr period of the first flu symptoms so it was very urgent that she start this med asap. Although this was explained to them they had no interest in our urgency and were very unsympathetic. We returned the next morning and when we arrived home with the Rx I discovered that the powder solution in the box was never mixed with the water as clearly instructed in bold black lettering on the box: Note to Pharmacist- Prepare the suspension at time of dispensing. Measure 23 ml of water and add the total amount for constitution to the bottle and shake for 15 seconds.
How does a pharmacist not know to mix a powder solution? First of all it took them all this time to simply take a box off the shelf and put a label on it. The instructions on the front of the box said to give 3.8 ml 2x a day. If this was a mom that was unfamiliar with this med maybe she would think that she should be giving this med in the powder form that it was received. Tragic consequences could result due to an inexcusable oversight. When we brought the bottles back to the pharmacy they acted very surprised but I think this was just one of many oversights that occur. After returning home with the mixed bottles I noticed that it was very watery unlike the same thick solution I had received 2 days prior for the exact same med for my other daughter.
After feeling very unsettled by the series of events I contacted the pharmacy and questioned why there was such a difference in the texture to which they could give me no reason other than it is mixed according to the directions on the package (that is when they remember to mix it at all). Comparing the two bottles it is not possible that this was the case. I decided to not give this med to my daughter after fearing that all the mistakes that day could lead to a possible tragedy and I was forced to give her some of my other daughter's med until my doctor could call in a new Rx to a competent pharmacy.
My daughter was forced to suffer thru a night and morning of 104.3 fever and other negative effects of the flu because of all the time wasted by first the pharmacy's refusal to fill the Rx because they didn't have her birthdate which they could have easily requested from the doctor. Then they give me unmixed medication and finally incorrectly mixed medication.
I am extremely annoyed that I paid $66.34 for medication that I felt unsafe giving to my child and now I will be forced to pay another 66.34 to another pharmacy to get the correct med. My feeling is that this is a case of negligence on Walmart pharmacy's part. I want other people to be aware of how incompetent this pharmacy is and to not put their family member's safety in jeopardy by taking their Rx's to this store.

While on vacation in Illinois visiting relatives, I took a prescription to Wal-Mart for my 4 month old daughter and they gave her the WRONG medication! The doctor gave her an allergy med because she allergic to kitty cats. So, I took it to get it filled and I remembered the Dr telling me it was a nasal drop med. Well, they gave her 5mg ** an adult allergy medicine. Why? Because the pharmacist guessed (her words) at what it was supposed to be!!!! We unfortunately didn't catch this until we had already given her a half of their dosage. They had it written out to give her a tablespoon!
I called the Dr yesterday morning. He said they got it wrong and not to give her anymore. It was very dangerous to give a baby that strength of medication, in ANY dosage! He called the pharmacy and chewed them a new one. We took the prescription back for a refund and they gave us a 50.00 gift card. Considering the meds were 30.00ish. Anyway, they tried to apologize but I just ripped them a new one. I wrote Wal-Mart corporate about it last night.

Maybe one of their employees is doing something under the table. If this can happen 3 times in our family, how many others is it happening to? People like my aunt who is on Social Security can't afford to pay for medication that they aren't receiving. There needs to be an investigation of their practices.
Yes, there does and if Suzanne will contact the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, they will investigate it.

I have only a 30 minute lunch and just wanted to drop in and out and get my business done. I couldn't. At time my primary insurance would not fill a prescription and I asked the staff to put it on my file that if primary wont accept to run it through secondary and when I have gone to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription at the designated time I was told it would be ready I have found the prescription not filled because my secondary insurance was not even checked. This is the only Wal-Mart Pharmacy I have found to be disorganized. I compliment the staff at both the Bryant and Sheridan Wal-Marts for their professionalism.

Then I was told I would get a refund, bring back the receipt. I sent my husband with the receipt, he was told we had to talk to Chris, the manager today, I talked with him, and he says they are not responsible once the prescription leaves the store. Since it didn't leave the store, since they never gave it to me, I certainly think they are responsible.
