I received a flu shot from the RiteAid pharmacy at 1600 Edgemont Ave. in Chester, PA on October 9, 2012. About an hour after I received the flu shot, my arm started swelling. By the time I woke up the next morning, my arm was very swollen and in lots of pain. I went to my family doctor, who sent me to the emergency room. At the emergency room, the doctors said I had an infection caused by the flu shot. I was hospitalized for two days and sent home on antibiotics. I still have a slight swelling and pain in my arm and do not have full use of right arm yet. I have to report back to the doctors in 1 week. Also, the pharmacy technician did not wash her hands at all and did not properly clean the area where the shot was given. I am not sure as to whether she even wore rubber gloves while giving the flu shot. On the day I received the flu shot, it was given in my right arm. Make sure you roll back the cameras from the day of this incident. I would appreciate if someone would get back to me as soon as possible.

I went there to fill a script that was given to me by my pain doctor. I was given 11 scripts to fill once a week to wean me down off a certain medication. When I was sitting there, he yelled out, "Not this ** guy again." So that caught my attention as to who he was talking to. After about 15 minutes of him on the phone talking to my doctor, he called me over and then got right up in my face and ripped my script up and said, "Now, get the ** out of the store." See, my doctor made a mistake and forgot he had written me out those scripts. Anyway, the pharmacist came out from behind the counter and was like chest bumping me out the door. I asked him why he was doing that and he said, "I would love to kick your ass." I started calling him a ** as we were going out the door and then he said he was going to have someone club me over the back of the head as we were walking out.

So when we got to the door, he continued to follow me out getting in my face threatening me and saying he wants to fight me as he was surrounded by five other guys that work in RiteAid. I then called the cops on him to have him arrested for threatening me but to no avail. They did nothing but told me to leave. There was a problem also on the last visit with him. He wrote out my script wrong on the bottle, putting down I am only to take three per day when it was supposed to be four per day. I see my doctor once a month and he knew it but instead he chose to start swearing at me telling me to sit the ** down and shut up while he fills the script. When I said someone made a mistake either him or my doctor, he said, "One more ** word and I will rip this script up," so I calmly sat down and shut up. But this time was so uncalled for.

What he did was the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen in a store. I am thinking of calling a lawyer to see what can be done. He was also calling me a ** druggy and to go somewhere else to get my drugs. (I planned on that anyway.) I know there is a kind of short girl, maybe Spanish or slightly Chinese, not sure. She heard the way he was talking to me the first time and I know she had seen him this time and the way he was acting towards me. And I know like five employees heard what he said about clubbing me over the back of the head with a club and coming outside to fight me. What they will say about him I'm not sure due to them being afraid of losing their job. Something has to be done to this guy. I wish someone would call me before I talk to a lawyer. For him to come out behind the pharmacy desk to egg on a fight is ** and something has to be done. I hope to hear from someone soon. There was no reason for him to come out from behind there. I was going to leave anyway to call my doctor. He thinks he is a tough guy to people and I don't know how people can work with him.

I had this problem with CVS and ended up in a hospital with a pressure of 219/135 and the next time it was higher. Now, tonight I’ll go to bed worried if that is going to happen again due to someone not faxing my order in. I have the card but that was not honored either where they call you. Someone needs to look into the service they say they provide.

I took my 3-month-old baby to the ER because he was having a very high fever. So, I went to Rite Aid to pick up 2 medications. One was for allergy and another one was a fever reducer. Rite Aid swapped the stickers on the bottles. So, we were feeding my son the allergy medicine all this time when it's supposed to be the fever reducer. I called them and they apologized but I don't think I am going there ever again.

Overall, I called to request a prescription fill of a medication that was ordered by my physician and was treated by the technicians on duty with hostility, disdain, and they never meet me. I am a great phone person, and Andrea and the other tech that refused to give me her name were so rude that I felt that each of them felt that speaking to customers angrily and with disdain for calling was supported by your establishment. It makes me not want to ever come to RiteAid 24-hour store (T- 212-877-3480); however, I was told that Crissy the manager was not in at 8:00 to 9:00 pm today. I am not sure, but this is horrible and I’m fearful to call your pharmacy department. Wow! Now, if I had a choice, I would pick other pharmacies. I’m so sorry.

I have used Rite Aid as my pharmacy for over 14 years, and have not had too many bad experiences. One time I left the pharmacy with someone else's script in my bag and I had to drive back the 7 miles to return it and get the right one. I did learn fast, that I do not want to drive that 14-mile round trip again, and I always look at the name on the bottle now. But, when my local (Brighton, MI) pharmacy remodeled, somehow the restroom disappeared. I don't know where the employees go, but I feel bad for them if they have to go 2 doors down to the pet store, like they told me to do. I am seriously considering changing pharmacies for that reason, and have twice been there since, and had to go two doors down to the pet store. That is degrading, when you can do business there but you can't use the restroom. What about the other companiess where you can go use their bathroom but don't purchase their products because you don't have a pet? The other local pharmacies have nice clean restrooms, some with 2 stalls. I will be moving my business to another pharmacy.

This is the incident: My wife called in a prescription for ** on Thursday, 8-30-12, and went to pick it up on Saturday, 9-1. When she and I arrived at the pharmacy, the pharmacist stated the prescription was not filled because there were no refills. My wife stated there were two refills left (she must take this for pain each day). The pharmacist stated there was a mistake and would fill the script but with a different generic since they were out of **. Two problems, my wife got very ill from this generic drug and had to go to the doctor to learn it was the ** causing the problem. Although our home phone was given when filling the prescription, no call was made to notify us of the original problem. My wife has been ill for a week because of your mistake. She went back to the pharmacy today and got the pill she normally takes and never got an apology.

Second incident: About 2 months ago, I called a prescription for ** for my glaucoma. I went to pick it up and was told the script date ran out. I had given my phone number and did not get a call about the problem. They would not give me the drug, they would not help me so I had to go out of town for four days and was not able to put drops in my eyes. I think this store needs to do something about their pharmacy department and I will be leaving Rite Aid to a better pharmacy and am telling all my friends to do the same. I was a paramedic for 24 years and a supervisor for 15 and would make sure our work was always beyond reproach, you should do the same. The pharmacy in your Culpeper, VA store is horrible and mistake riddled.

I recently had a prescription for ** filled at the Rite Aid store in Palmerton, PA, 18071. They charged $68.35 for 40, 5 mg. capsules. When I needed to refill the prescription, I called several other pharmacies (CVS, Wal-Mart, and another Rite Aid store) because I felt $68.35 was extremely costly. The other pharmacies all gave me costs between $17.50 and $23.00. When the other Rite Aid store gave me their cost of $23.00, I asked them, "Do all the Rite Aid stores charge the same for their prescriptions?” and was told yes. I called the Rite Aid in Palmerton and questioned why they charged $68.35 for their prescription when the other Rite Aid in Whitehall, PA gave a cost of $23.00 for the exact same prescription. I feel this cost should be reimbursed to me, as the cost is definitely not within normal limits. I am also filing a complaint with the PA Attorney General’s Office.

I called the number for prescription refills as soon as I needed my medication. That line was not working. I called the next day and it was still not working. I called the pharmacy directly the next day and told the girl that the answering machine was not working. But she told me she knew nothing about it and was sure it was working and then hung up on me. The next day, my husband called to refill his prescriptions and the same thing happened. So, I called the pharmacist who told me they do not know when the machine is not working and basically blew me off along with my complaints. This is unacceptable and Rite Aid should be ashamed of its treatment to its clients. This chain needs a major re-haul of its training in customer service and the law as it applies to commercial pharmacies. Perhaps a major lawsuit will open its eyes.

While trying to refill my mother-in-law's prescription for **, my mother-in-law, who is 89 and has significant issues, was being asked to provide her social security number over the phone to a RiteAid tech at the Somerset pharmacy. She does not have knowledge of this number and while she was being quizzed by the tech at RiteAid, my wife picked up the phone and was told by the tech about how frustrated they were dealing with my mother-in-law. My wife advised the tech that it's not a common practice for us to give out social security numbers over the phone. The aid became very belligerent and referred us to the pharmacist, who then berated my wife over this issue.

My daughter then got on the phone and informed the pharmacist that we had just lost a family member today and we were trying to work this out. My wife was ready to provide the social security number to the pharmacist, but he too berated my wife. She then turned the phone over to my daughter who spoke to the pharmacist and was berated for upsetting the tech who had first handled the call. I informed my daughter to cancel the prescription and she informed the pharmacist that we intend never again to use RiteAid pharmacy to fulfill our prescriptions for my mother-in-law.

Needless to say, I have researched your company online and have read your company's mission statement with regard to serving and assisting your clients. Today, the Somerset, Massachusetts RiteAid upset us to the point that we will never do business there again. We have been involved with many pharmacies in the local area over the years and have never been so rudely and unprofessionally treated by a pharmacy ever. I will be awaiting a reply from my phone calls as well as from this email regarding this matter. I think a refresher course in customer relations, as well as your company's mission statement goals, is clearly in order here.

I was let go on my job so I had no insurance during this time. I went through grievance procedure and won my case, my job back and all my back pay and was to be made whole. I was then told that maybe another store would have it in stock. I was referred to the Providence Road (Strawberry Hill) store. I called them to confirm they had it in stock and they said yes.

My husband, who is also a doctor, was calling in an Rx for a ** for me. He called it in. The pharmacist was very rude. He said they were super busy and that he would have to wait a while, almost discouraging him from coming there by telling him he would have a long wait. I have used the store at Fairview, Cotswold, and Strawberry Hill for the last five years for Rx's. They are always all rude and act like I am not appreciated.

I am switching all my Rx to Walker Drug, a local, small town pharmacy just two streets away. They appreciate my business and are not rude. The staff is very friendly and appreciative of my business. I can see why Rite Aid is struggling financially. Customer service in the pharmacy sucks in every store I have been in. They are all rude and it is such a shame. I will no longer fill my Rx's at Rite Aid after today!

Employee disregarding customer disability/handicap: I have an interesting experience at the Rite Aid pharmacy a few weeks ago. It was at the drive up window of the Twelve Mile and Hoover store in Warren. I had some prescriptions to pick up for the family. The employee behind the window asked for my birth date. She was a good 8-9 inches from the microphone and I could not understand her as I could not hear her. I asked her to move closer to the microphone and repeat because I have a hearing loss. She did not and she repeated the question. I again asked her to speak up and move closer to the microphone. She responded by placing her hands on the sides of her mouth and repeating the question in the same low volume.

I figured out what she was asking and answered her. When she gave me the total, we went through the same routine, except this time she tore off a strip of adding machine tape and wrote the total on it in large 2-inch tall characters as if a large font would enable me to hear her better. All this time she was getting enjoyment out of my frustration and had a continuous smile, verging on a laugh, on her face. She was getting a kick off of my disability and frustration!

I paid the total and asked for her name. She told me. I left and called the store manager from the parking lot. I was so humiliated I could not see straight. The store manager explained that the pharmacy is a separate unit from the store, which I knew. She then notified the assistant manager of the pharmacy who called me within minutes. She asked what it would take to make things better. A gift certificate, perhaps? "I can't be bought," I replied. I wanted something different. Later that evening, the pharmacy manager called and said that the actions were unacceptable and he would speak to this employee on Friday when he returned and write her a warning for the file.

I still thought some training on employee - customer relations and disability accommodations - was needed here. I e-mailed Rite Aid corporate with the information and have not received a response some two weeks later. I called corporate last week to ask why there’s no response and they, of course, claim it was never received. Here it is two weeks after the incident and Rite Aid has not responded as to what steps they are taking to avoid a recurrence of this mistreatment - not from corporate or the store. I am looking for a new pharmacy. Any suggestions? Spread the word that Rite Aid does not properly accommodate the hearing disabled and let's see where this goes. Thanks.

Pharmacy refusing to let MD mail in my prescription - I have been buying my medication from Rite Aid for 12 years. I am currently receiving a regimen of medication in an effort to halt a life threatening disease and I am suffering from the side effects of the medication. My physician's office is 100 miles away from my residence. I can either drive to their office or have the prescription mailed to the local Rite Aid and have it filled accordingly. They have mailed two prescriptions in both times. The pharmacy indicated that the store doesn't collect the mail often and didn't know if they'd have my prescription on time because it would be at the post office. My doctor's office had to call each time to inquire whether or not the pharmacy would be in receipt of my prescription the day it's to be filled.

When picking up my last prescription, I was advised by the pharmacist that they didn't want my prescriptions being mailed to their store because they don't know when the mail will be picked up. Accordingly, now I have to get out of bed when I'm very ill, drive 100 miles to my doctor's office to pick up my prescription and another 100 miles back. I can't drive my car when I take my pain medication so that means I have a four-hour ride that will be very painful and I have to spend $35 on gasoline. I also take medication for nausea and will be nauseated during my four-hour ride.

I spoke to the store manager and her response was, "I check the mail everyday". If that were true, why would it be so inconvenient for my prescriptions to be mailed to the pharmacy? She made no attempt to reconcile the situation and offered no apology for the mistreatment. Rite Aid's mission statement is inaccurate and misleading. They exhibit no concern for their customers especially the ones that are battling life threatening diseases. Their concern for customer dissatisfaction, as indicated by the store manager, is non-existent. They provide a delivery service for pharmacy customers but I have to drive 200 miles to pick up my prescription. Their treatment of their customers makes a mockery of Rite Aid's mission statement.

When I got there, they said other people had come in before I got there and that they had filled their prescriptions first. My prescription should have been waiting for me. They said it would be filled in fifteen minutes.

I waited the fifteen minutes and asked again and they said it would be filled in a few minutes. I asked again and they said their computers were down and I would have to wait. I told them they could keep the prescription. I then had it called into a local pharmacy. When I got to the local pharmacy, they said I would have to pay as Rite Aid had already charged my insurance. Anyway, I had the local pharmacy reverse the card and got my prescription in five minutes. I will have all of my prescription changed to a new pharmacy and tell all my friends what piss poor service Rite Aid gives. Thank you.

Due to Walgreens no longer working with my insurance, I had no choice but to go back to Rite Aid. Actually, the exact same things that happened in CVS happened at Rite Aid. My concerns are the pharmacy should not be ringing up retail. I have done it and I appreciate it but it takes time and attention away from a very serious duty, the administration of prescriptions.

Secondly, all but a small handful of people working in Rite Aid Pharmacies do not conduct themselves as business professionals. I stopped counting the amount of times I have to correct them and get them to look at the correct prescriptions. Case in point, I had a refill for ** and when I arrived, they commented, wow you haven't had that filled in a while. I thought to myself that is not true. When I got home, I noticed that my old address (five years old) was on the bottle. All of my prescriptions have my new address including **, so what are they looking at.

Also, almost each time I get a refill I must remind them that I have name brand on certain items. It seems that they always lean towards what the insurance provider pushes. My issue with this practice is if my regular doctor prescribes a name brand and my insurance does not want to pay, I need to get a call so that I can decide if I pay out of my own pocket. Or, contact my doctor to inform him that generic is my only option so that my doctor is informed of the change. The pharmacy has done this a couple of times and each time I have to wait for them to order brand name which means multiple trips because they fill it with generic without asking.

All of the aforementioned is not professional business conduct and not acceptable. I should not have to keep changing pharmacies if someone would manage them appropriately. And I am not talking about the store manager I am talking about someone dedicated to legal and appropriate pharmacy practices. This is more than a matter of customer service. It's a matter of consumer safety.

They have always been gracious and even told me that a friend of mine who is quite elderly and cannot go into the store could do the same. Last time I called and asked for several bottles of **, a woman who identified herself as a manager informed me that they do not allow pickups except for prescriptions and proceeded to lecture me about having someone else come in for me. She grudgingly said she would allow it this time.

When I arrived, she repeated the harangue a second time. I was most upset by her behavior as well as the refusal to serve a paying customer in the future. Disabled persons do not have errand-runners at their beck and call. We have to do the best we can for ourselves. I did call customer service and was told that they have no policy and that was the end of it. I did send an email to Rite Aid and have received no response. My life is difficult enough. I contacted the RiteAid Pharmacy (New Britain, PA store) to request a refill on Sunday, April 1, 2012. I arrived to the store about 30-45 minutes after the call, and the male individual working at the pharmacy informed me that my prescription could not be filled as I am now required to do mail-order prescriptions. I was confused by this as my prescription was filled January 27, 2012, and at no time was I informed that the filling of the prescription would be completed that time but could not be done the same way in the future.

I recognize that I need to be more aware of changes with my insurance; however, I was under the impression that I would need to do mail order for a 3-month's supply and my medication is only ever a 30-day supply. I feel that if the pharmacy is willing to make an exception one time, then this exception should be clearly communicated and it was not.

Back to April 1, 2012, I was clearly confused; and rather than allowing me to collect my thoughts, the male individual proceeded to ask me if I take the medication regularly, noting the last time I submitted a prescription. First, he was discussing my personal matter at the counter, and everyone around could hear the conversation. Second, it is not his concern how frequently I take my medication. That concern should be addressed between my doctor and my self.

I responded to the question quickly to move the conversation away from a personal topic, as I was very uncomfortable with my personal information being discussed in a public area. Then the male individual proceeded to comment that he does not know who handles my therapy, my parents or my self, but the doctor needs to be contacted.

Now my level of uncomfortability had increased to anger. I did not appreciate the male individual judging my situation based upon how I look. I am a soon to be 27-year-old, employed woman; I handle my own medical concerns. So I was quite offended to find out the male individual had been making judgements or assumptions based upon my youthful appearance. I would also like to point out that again this comment occurred at the same counter, still in a public area.

I submit this concern out of anger for how I was treated and in the hopes of preventing such an uncomfortable, frustrating situation happening to customers in the future. I have recently joined a program offered by Abbot Technologies called "Freestyle Promise" which enables members to receive a discounted rate on co-pays at the pharmacy for diabetic testing strips. They are also doing a promo offer to receive a box of fifty free test strips along with your prescription, which my doctor had called into this pharmacy.

They were unable to process the coupon and I could not retain my supplies entirely. I asked that they simply call the 800 number listed on the card and form letter from the company. They refused. They sent me away to contend with the problem myself. I went home and called Abbot and they spent the next twenty minutes (approximately) attempting to explain to the Rite Aid Pharmacy staff how to run this card and participate in the program. The Abbot employee told me that she could not help because they became rude with her and refused to follow the instructions she was trying to give them. Abbot told me to try to locate another pharmacy because of the nature of this encounter.

I purchased at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Chapmanville, WV on February 28, 2012, a prescription of **. I used the medication as directed and apparently there was a problem with the canister because I could only use the product 2-1/2 times. I talked to a person, male, in the pharmacy and he advised me that if it was a problem with the manufacturer that he could not replace the **. I tried to get another prescription of the product and my health insurance provider would not pay for it. The pharmacy advised me that I couldn't get it for 15 days.

In my opinion, if Rite Aid sold me a defective prescription of **, they should have replaced it and took it up with the seller of the product. If this is the way Rite Aid does business, I will never buy another prescription from them. They don't guarantee what they sale and this is bad business. This was not an inexpensive prescription. I took my wife's prescription to be refilled, at my local RiteAid Pharmacy in Charlestown, Indiana. This is a prescription which I have had refilled many times at the same pharmacy. I brought the filled prescription home to find that the medication did not look like the medication that my wife had been taking over a period of time. By this time, the Pharmacy had closed, so I could not get an answer to this problem, thus my wife did not get her medication that night.

The following day, I too the medication back to the pharmacy and was told "Oh, we should have put a green sticker on the bottle indicating that RiteAid had changed drug Manufacturers for this medication, so therefore it is the same medication. See it is the same color." I asked, "How am I to know in fact, is this the same medication that she has been taking and not an error on your part?" Then the pharmacy Tech said, "Look on the bottle, this is the number on your prescription" Unfortunately, it was the same bottle that I had brought back for a refill. The Pharmacy tech made no attempt at an apology and I am still left wondering whether my wife is taking the proper medication or an erroneous medication of which RiteAid would not admit too. What are we to do but give my wife the medication and hope that RiteAid is telling me the truth?

That time, I wound up driving around to the store entrance and going in and finally after 30 minutes and no one else there in line got served. I talked to the store manager about the information out in the window and it was still there when I left. This time trying to get prescriptions my wife was told they were not ready this was 02/13/12. I came back on 02/12/12 and Kyla told me again that they were not ready and that the doctor had not called them in.

I said my mother had just got off the phone you told her they were there she said nope they did not. So I asked the name of the lead pharmacist and then the prescriptions materialized. When I looked at the date on the bottles, they were dated for 2/13/12, the day my wife came down. The tall black skinny lady pharmacist came to the window would not share any information said have a nice valentines days and just gave a big grin laughing. Joe Sweet and Brittney Cox was the names of who runs the pharmacy and the store managers name is Dawyn **or Lisa **. I called 1-800-RITE AID. The District Manager called back. Nice guy but just gave weak, lame excuses.

Freeport Ave. Rite Aid, Sacramento, CA. Store #06076. A very terse, rude clerk (older woman with chin length gray hair) took my Rx script and my insurance card and walked away while I was still talking to her. She didn't care what I had to say, just walked away and said "just wait a minute". I said, "I'm still talking to you, are you interested?". She looked over her shoulder and sneered at me! When the district manager called later, he said she just got back from a leave of absence so she was probably in a bad mood. Well, maybe she should have stayed gone or come back to a job that doesn't require meeting the public? After walking away, this older clerk, from 10ft away, yelled in front of other customers "we don't have ___ and can't get it". Then the very, very young pharmacist, also 10+ ft away yelled "No wait, we can get it but it will take a long time. There is a shortage of ___ and ___ meds". What about privacy and being discrete?

I said, "What? It's a very common drug and Walgreen's and Raley's both have ___ in stock, but Walgreen's just quit taking Anthem Blue Cross and Raley's is in a hectic supermarket so I wanted to try here again after 2 years away". The pharmacist said in a snooty tone of voice, "well, they have different suppliers". I said, "this is exactly why I left here 2 years ago, you folks are just rude and quite often tell me you are out of the drugs I need and can't get them. Then when I complain, you revert to a story about your suppliers having a shortage. This is crazy, you're one of the biggest pharmacies in the nation. It sounds like an inventory control issue on your end". Then the pharmacist said they would have it by tomorrow after 3PM. Okay, what a pain in the **! Why didn't they just hold their tongue, be nice, polite, professional and research the Rx issue fully before pissing me off first? Tomorrow is fine and a lot different than "we don't have it and can't get it"!

The pharmacy district manager was nice, but full of more flimsy excuses, he blamed their supplier too. It's hard to believe this big of a company would allow their supplier to consistently be out of common meds. It sounds like nobody cares and would rather give customers weak excuses vs fixing the problem. Rite Aid should have enough purchasing power to fix this, but if they don't care, then it won't ever get fixed. Their rude behavior is completely unacceptable and has nothing to do with inventory. This is a symptom of deeper issues that they need to fix or they will just go bankrupt. I will never go there again unless it's an emergency and then say my prayers that these folks have fixed their issues or gotten jobs somewhere else, doing something else.

I am so disappointed with the Rite Aid at ****. Rite Aid is definitely my favorite drugstore but I can never ever go back to this one because of the outrageous security setup at this place. The moment you walk in, you are automatically greeted by the security personnel without uniform but just standing at the door where the cameras are stored. That isn't even it. I was browsing through the cosmetic aisle where there is only two aisles in the whole store. If you are a makeup fanatic, you can not help but to pick up a lipstick and look at the color and try hard to look inside the tube for a more accurate coloring of it, it just can't be helped.

Hence, you keep up anything that catches at your eye and look at it, look at the same of it and etc. I was here looking for a limited edition nail polish and of course, you would walk around looking for it and picking up bottles that are some what that color is, hoping you can find it. I walked through the two isles but couldn't find it and as I was leaving the so-called security guy stopped me and accused me of stealing a lipstick. He kept demanding where I put it. ****. How is that possible since I walked through two aisles constantly picking up and looking at things to remember where I exactly put things back? I couldn't remember which one he was referring to and he couldn't specify where I picked up from but that he saw me picked up and didn't pick back at the same place supposedly.

Seriously, is anything there at the right place? The lipsticks are everywhere. The nail polishes are thrown everywhere. I clearly told him that I don't know. Then he demanded me to empty my pockets and when I did he was staring at the lotion and lip balm I was carrying. Thank goodness it was not a drugstore brand and you can only get it at the department stores. I mean, right after he couldn't find whatever it was on me he continued to argue that I took it and did not even apologized. If he really saw me took something, I am freaking sure that he would have called the cops, plain and simple. After he searched me, he doesn't even have the decency to apologize but continued to accuse me. That is just wrong. I will never ever go back to that Rite Aid location. Now, I feel like I can't ever shop at Rite Aid again. I have never been to a Rite Aid set up like this and with this kind of security. I have never ever faced this kind of embarrassment before.

When I clicked on, view my prescription History and print. To my shock three pages full of prescription printed out, over 120 of them. My 15 were on the list but the other 100+ were not mine and were filled at a Rite Aid that I had never been in and charged to my insurance for 29 months every month on a regular basis. Three prescription of which were narcotics were filled by a woman with a different name than mine. It seems that our birthdays were just a couple of months off and our insurance group number was different by three numbers.

Aren't Pharmacy's required to check insurance cards and ID? After 2 years, they never checked her insurance card. She also had other prescriptions for other illness. If the woman came in with the prescriptions in her name and they were filled in her name, then when my insurance company sent payment in to Rite Aid under my name where did the money go. Why didn't it show her prescriptions as not being paid? I have a lot of questions about this whole nightmare. My insurance is a mess my HRA account was used up for over two years. And my Medical history with those prescriptions listed, looks like I am some kind of drug addict.

Express Scripts called again today, they are working on fixing everything but it will take time. Am I mad at both Rite Aid and my Insurance? Yes, I am. I will never go to another Rite Aid. And until I get answers on all this I will never trust Rite Aid or my insurance.

I needed to pick up several prescriptions in order to be able to take my daughter home from a hospital some 200 miles away from our home. The doctor called a local (to the hospital) RiteAid and asked them if they had all of the medications in stock that were on the list of drugs I needed to take home with me. The pharmacist, Erin **, assured the doctor that they did in fact have the drugs we needed, in the strength we needed, in stock and could fill them before our trip home. The drugs were essential for seizure control, since my daughter had just had major brain surgery.

When I arrived at the pharmacy an hour later, one of the prescriptions, **, was not filled correctly or completely! They did not have the 25mg tablets we needed; only the 50mg tablets and they told me they only had 3 and I would have to return on Monday to get the rest. First off, wrong dosage; second, they lied to the doctor when they said they had everything we needed. When I confronted the cashier, and told him that was not acceptable and that I would not be able to return the 200 miles one way to pick up the medications, he went to speak with the pharmacist, who looked a bit pissed that I wouldn't play their way.

He then said he would give me all he had (meaning he was holding back) since he had given me 3 pills only in the bottle, not the 90 prescribed by the doctor. He then let me know they didn't have the right strength, and that they would cut them in half for me (some were cut jagged, and some crushed in the bottom of the bottle, looks like they tried to cut them but just made a bloody mess). He then told me that I would have to transfer the script to a RiteAid near my home, of which the closest one is almost 60 miles away. When I informed him of that, he rolled his eyes like a child and said "fine, then you're on your own" and went back to the counter where he was working before I disturbed his work.

Then, to add insult to injury, they charged me for the full prescription. I didn't even get 1/4 of what was supposed to be dispensed. We now have only about 15 usable pill "halves" as well as the dust and chunks in the bottom of the bottle, which are useless. I'm out the one fill (since other pharmacies will not fill a "partial" fill, so this first fill is a bust). We are stranded with just 1 week of medications to keep the seizures at bay, and I'm on my own to go find the drugs elsewhere. This, in turn, will cost me time on the phone looking for the medications, as well as gas money to drive somewhere else to get the medications. Thanks for nothing RiteAid. You really know how to screw a customer. If we can't find the medication in time, and my daughter has seizures, I blame RiteAid for their lies, and deceitful practices!

I activated it and got my prescription for my ** last month, with no problem. Today, there was a problem.

What happened was, two weeks before I went there to pick up a prescription for my generic **, the assistant rung me up and gave me a ** prescription. It wasn't until I signed for it that it hit me that my ** doesn't cost that much. So I checked out my medication and the assistant began to undo the transaction. Well, I thought that I might as well pick it up and gave my ** card to them and the pharmacist said it can only be used every 28 days into the prescription. I said that was fine, but I don't know why it is sitting filled on the shelf? I really wasn't out of that medication yet, I had at least 2 more weeks of it in my bottle at home.

So the pharmacist made sure my credit card was on the shelf and told me I could wait for the phone call to pick it up since I was signed up to have an automatic call when it was ready (all seemed good). So on 9/25/11, I went to pick up my ** because I was down to one tablet. It is Sunday and my discount card wouldn't process. The lady who was helping me said the card was rejected because it claimed that I picked up the medication. I asked her why would that be because I got my credit charge back on my money and the medication should be given to me now. I was informed that when they make a transaction, the insurance automatically gets information that it was picked up and pays for it. I told her that this isn't right since I was given a refund and that they should take an extra step in making sure the insurance company knows the medication wasn't taken.

This is one of my main points, this causes lots of problems. Because she said to solve the problem, she would have to contact my insurance company and they will fix it right away. But my insurance company isn't open on the weekends or evenings. So as a customer, I am left out in the cold with their setup on not getting medication I need and I am entitled to. All that I just said was putting it nicely. When I asked her about the system and why they don't get the information to my insurance account, she told me it was all my fault anyways. It was fussing over this ** that was sitting on the shelf for so long and I should have picked it up. I told her that I don't know why they had it on the shelf because it wasn't time to dispense my medication. She said I could pick up my medication at any time and I told her, not unless I am ready for it. I didn't even get a call that it was ready and didn't know it was there.

She said I was 3/4 into my prescription and I could have picked it up. I told her this wasn't so and I know that the computer keeps counts of tablets and it isn't set up to early dispensing. She said the computer doesn't count tablets. I have done business with Rite Aid for 15 years and learned how the system works. I Lived in Harrisburg, PA all my life and recently moved to Mechanicsburg, PA and got myself set up with a new pharmacy close to home. That ** prescription that I am talking about was faxed to the pharmacy from my doctor's office. I did not drop it off. I don't think this store closely follows the law for dispensing properly and I do think they need to get the glitch out of their system for prescription returns. I hope you can help.

I am going there tomorrow morning to try to get my prescription. But I didn't go into details about all the conversation we had. She told me that I well know how their procedure is and she then went on to explain it. I didn't know what she was talking about and told her that I wouldn't know because I don't work here and the only thing I was told was to go home and wait for a phone call for my medication. I want this problem addressed and fixed, if you can help.

He saw me and laughed at me and threw his arms up in a what's-up gesture. Several people wearing backpacks and with hats on, entered the store and he didn't even look up nor follow them. They started treating me differently after my 9-year old son tried to steal from their store and was caught. We have a court hearing on the subject. My next prescription following the incident, my prescription was ten pills short. I was unaware of this until close to the end of the month because I’m not in the habit of counting them. They just last until my next refill and have for two years, and it was never a problem. When I mentioned to them there had been a mistake, I was treated rudely, as if I was demanding replacements, which I did not.

I just asked for them to, please watch closer after turning in my next prescription for the same thing. I was told to call the next day to make sure they were ready, and when I did, I was again treated badly. I was told I was drug seeking, and they are not due until the next day.I am now switching pharmacy due to all the rudeness. I was not the one who miscounted the medicine, and I did nothing wrong. They are trying to label me as a drug seeker. I did nothing wrong. This is very unfair.

I called Rite Aid to have a prescription retrieved from Walgreens, Hoover AL to Rite Aid in Tuscaloosa AL for my daughter who is in college. A young black female in the pharmacy answered the pharmacy number and she was so rude to me. She said that she didn't have time right now to get the prescriptions transferred. I asked when I should call back and she put me on hold. She came back to the phone five minutes later and when I told her what I was waiting for her, she put me on hold again.

Finally, when someone did answer, she was in the front of the store and not in the pharmacy. She took my information down and said that she would walk it back to the pharmacy. I called back to complain and was advised that they were just busy and the manager that I talked with did not even want to hear my complaint. My daughter later had a bad experience with the same young black female. She called me crying saying that she treated her poorly and she asked if I could get them transferred somewhere else so she would not have to deal with this girl.

I turned them in to the Hardwick Rite Aid and they gave me a refund but because I no longer had my receipt, I took a loss and had to pay $8 for the correct Energizer batteries, which only hold eight batteries whereas I paid $16.99 for your brand.

I really feel I should have been given the $16.99 back as it was the company error and I need not had to pay another $.800 for less batteries.

I moved my medications from the RiteAid in the Arboretum to the Rite Aid on UniversityCity in January because it was closer to where I lived. I had not run into any problems with them but my daughter complained about them being unprofessional, disrespectful, and were not friendly. I always thought I had a better report with people than she did. I had problems with them about some medication when I ran out before I had the money to pay for my meds and they refused to give the few I needed to take me to payday. I am retired and I get paid once a month. I don't know how but somehow the refills got scattered all over the month which made it hard for me to get my medicines. I tried to work with them even though they were really ugly and condescending. I moved my medicines back to the Arboretum RiteAid, where I was treated like a human being with respect and kindness.

Today, I woke up realizing my daughter had forgotten to pick my medicines up, but I was in no shape to drive to pick them up. So I called University City RiteAid. They called me back to let me know they did not have all the medicines and would order it for tomorrow. They were cold and had an attitude but I asked if I could pay for it today and she told me no I had to pay for it when I pick it up. It was one medication I needed today. She made a statement that sent me into bringing the old me out. I told her they were just nasty. I thank God he put the words to say in my mouth because I can be ugly. I called the store manager about my complaint but he wanted me to come to the RiteAid and probably have a conference with Lori and me. I decided not to because I did not have my medicines today and I was sure about myself.

I was delighted, though no less angered, that what happened to Marie happened also to me at the local Rite Aid. It happened about two months ago, with a slightly different twist but same intended result, - a significant overcharge by posting a lower shelf price one place and a greatly increased one at check out. In my case, I was expecting to pay one price based on what was marked on the shelf, but upon reaching the cashier, an increase of $3.00 was added to the product. Protesting, and refusing to pay the added amount, I was advised that if I applied for one of Rite Aid's Wellness Cards, I would get the reduced price.

This attempt to deceive me, made me feel like an idiot and I vowed never to set foot in a Rite Aid store again. Seems like a relatively small matter, but nonetheless, when practiced in this manner over the length of even one day, Rite Aid makes quite a good profit from it. Yes, the price was deliberately designed to be misleading so that unsuspecting customers would simply pay for what they were being charged, particularly if the item in question was going to be charged on a credit card where the buyer is less attentive to the transaction at hand. The consequences of this practice should go beyond mere mention on your web site. If enough customers are alerted to this kind of truly egregious conduct, perhaps Rite Aid will be called to answer. I would very much like to see that occur. {Attorney General -- where are you?}. With today's economy being what it is, people do not need to be swindled by thieves "slick ones", who make fools of us all if we allow it. Please follow up. Thank you, and thank you, Marie, for bringing it to our attention. Sorry you had to pay more than the price that you thought you were going to have to pay. Next time, don't do it!

Example: Recent ad for a 5-position Padded Chair. I mistakenly thought this chair was selling for $19.99, but the cashier charged me $24.99. I questioned her, but she did not make any sense. Stupid answer. So I left before I did something wrong. Ad actually says: you pay $24.99 with 5.00. It's actually like paying $19.99 with Rite Aid Wellness card. So, Rite Aid cleverly designed ad to mislead customers. $19.99 is the largest size print in the ad.

On my receipt after I examined it completely, it says chair regularly priced at $29.99 and marked down to $24.99. No such thing as reducing the $24.99 sales price I thought I was seeing advertised to the $19.99 that I expected the final cost to be. Folks, all of those we buy from are increasing prices daily and pulling tricks such as this on us. Read everything and do not trust any of them!

The store claimed that they were unable to provide me with a receipt for my purchase which is of concern for two reasons. First, I would like to check to make sure that I was properly charged, since I have found errors on my receipt many times in the past. And second is that they promote a Wellness Rewards program that provides you with coupons and awards on your receipt.

I know that I purchased at least one item that should have provided me with $1.00 back in coupons, and I am very close to receiving a $20.00 reward, which I may or may not have missed now due to their inability to provide me with a receipt of purchase. I have spoken to the manager of the store as well as to the Rite Aid Customer Service, and although they are now very apologetic, they are still not able to provide me with a detailed receipt of what they charged me for or my reward coupons.

This is actually the third time I have shopped at this store and have not been provided with a receipt of purchase due to a problem with their machine. I let it go the last two times. But I am very concerned that they have charged my card for an amount that I cannot verify is correct and that I have been cheated out of the rewards I was promised for buying particular items and for shopping at their store due to their own negligence.

So now I am out $10.00 because of this, and I am already broke, so now I know I will never shop at Rite Aid ever again, and I will tell all my friends not to, and believe me they won't, after I tell them my story!

I went in to add money to my Green Dot Master Card, and bought a few items. Everything seemed to be going well as they took my money, but the Green Dot card would not ring up. It "must be entered manually" but the clerk could not do so. Her supervisor, Jacci, called Green Dot but when she got a foreign speaking person she hung up on them. She tried to get it so I could get my $400.00 back, since the card could not be run through their system, for some reason. The clerk said they had been having trouble with all credit cards.

It took 30 minutes for her to finally get the register opened and get my money back. For a supervisor, this is completely unacceptable. I do not blame the clerk as she was asking the supervisor for help, but getting none. I told them I was late returning back to work, but the whole mess kept going on for 30 minutes. I have had this type of card for 6-8 years and add to it every month, with no problem at all, but this was just crazy. It's not what I would expect from Rite Aid.

When I got through the line to the counter, the lady clerk started ringing the items up and I saw she was not listing the advertised price. She curtly told me, do you have a wellness card? And I said no and that I was not informed of them even though I and my caretaker use them to a great extent. I asked why was I not told about the card before she had already ring up the items. I have had prescriptions filled at the Rite Aid store in Atascadero for many, many years. Normally I do not have issues except when I've been prescribed narcotics. I had been prescribed ** on several occasions (three knee surgeries within one year) and I kept noticing the prescriptions didn't last as long as they should have. I started counting the tablets when I picked up the prescriptions and found on average, each prescription was 1-4 tablets short, but since I didn't count them at the store, they said I couldn't prove it. I was recently prescribed ** and started to notice that they, too, were being shorted.

When I called headquarters they assured me that was not acceptable and promptly called the store and Terry the pharmacy manager called me to discuss the matter. He asked me for details and I let him know that the last two prescriptions (for 30 pills) were shorted by three pills, then five pills. He said that I should ask them to "double count" the pills in front of me and offered to give me five more...yes, I already paid for 30 pills.

I went to the store to discuss the matter further with him in person because I'm certainly not the only one taking narcotics, my prescriptions are so minor compared to other very sick people. I told him that to satisfy me, he should not ask me to have his staff "double count", but to pull up the records, research who has filled my last two prescriptions and start an investigation. He told me that when this has happened before, "double counting" was standard procedure. I'm stunned that a pharmacy wouldn't want to know who is not performing their job or who is blatantly stealing narcotics. I'm sure that "double counting" isn't the solution, nor should it be. People don't normally count the medication, they assume they were given the correct amount. My prescription bottle has the #30 on it, as well as someone's circle on it to indicate that was the amount put into the bottle.

I went to Rite Aid store (#5218) with my 75-year old father who was visiting from India to return an 'unused' Accu-check blood glucose machine and the test strips that came with it.

To give more background to this, I had purchased a Bayer Glucose Monitor machine along with the test strips for my father who was diagnosed mild diabetic prior to his arrival in the US. We wanted to make sure his glucose level is in control during his stay in the US and therefore went to Rite Aid to purchase it. My father started using the strips and after a few days of usage, he found out that the solution inside the glucose monitoring machine was expired.

Being concerned, my father approached Rite Aid and explained the situation and asked for a fresh machine along with the test strips. The store manager was apologetic to keep an expired machine at their store and gave him a brand new Accu-check blood glucose monitoring system along with the test strips. A few days after the purchase, my dad decided to return the Accu-Check machine as it was too complicated for him to handle. So he decided to return the new Accu-Check machine (which was not used) along with the test strips (again not used) and get a new Bayer glucose machine that he was comfortable using in the past.

As I went to Rite Aid with my Dad to return the machine, I approached to the pharmacy section where normally I get all the medicine/equipment related stuff. The assistant pharmacist told me that I needed to go to the main check-out section to do any returns/exchange. I was a little surprised then since I had done health/medical related purchases/returns in the Pharmacy section before; however, I went to the main check out section and told that there was a return that I had to make. The shift supervisor Nicholas told me that I needed to go back to the pharmacy section to do this return.

When I told him that I was sent back to the main check out area as I had already been there initially, the supervisor immediately called the Pharmacy section and asked if that was the case. After his conversation with the pharmacy section, he told me to head back there and the pharmacy manager Jessica will handle this. As I approached towards the pharmacy section, the pharmacy manager Jessica **, without listening to me belligerently, told me, "What's going on?” And this was not how Rite Aid does business and they could not just dump machines after machines that have been used. I was completely shocked by her attitude yet informed her modestly that the old machine that was returned had an expired solution, but this new machine was never used. I wasn’t sure what was the problem to return an unused machine.

Her tone of voice was very rude and definitely not the appropriate way to handle a customer. When she realized that the machine was brand new she instructed her assistant to do the return transaction. The assistant was also being very difficult and was hesitant to return the machine when it was unused. She also doubted that the machine was used when we repeatedly mention it was not.

In a very arrogant way, she told my father to call some 1-800 number printed on the machine box if the solution of the current machine was expired. Also, she put a note as 'Final Sale' on the receipt so that we couldn’t do any further transaction. Firstly, how are we supposed to know to dial a 1-800 number for an expired solution? Isn’t it the job of a pharmacist to give all these instructions after the customer has purchased medical equipment from their pharmacy? Secondly, why does a pharmacy keep machines that have expired solutions in them? Isn’t it unfair business to sell systems to consumers that have passed expiry dates in their solutions?

This whole experience changed my entire perspective of Rite Aid. I have been a regular Rite Aid customer and never had any issues like this in the past. I dealt with other pharmacists before there but none of them were like this. The pharmacist manager Jessica’s approach to deal with customers is disgraceful and she better learn the basic customer dealing techniques before sitting in that spot. Does Rite Aid really mean its mission statement: “Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome”?

“We are focused on and committed to the healthcare needs of our customers." I very much doubt it after this uncomfortable, embarrassing, degrading and morale lowering experience. If there is any damage, it is psychological more than anything.

I gave the cashier the box to scan and the price record was $22.95 minus $5.00 for a total of $17.95 plus sales tax came to $20.23. I grumbled and handed the cashier a $50 bill. I paid and after comparing what it would cost with what I paid, I decided it was not fair and asked for a refund. When they rescanned and gave me my change, I only received $19.74. I backed at that and told the cashier how come I was losing 49 cents in a transaction that had just taken place 5 minutes ago.

Eventually, after some slightly irritating discussion, I was given $19.74 back which was still 49 cents less than I had paid. The cashier was nice enough to realize the error and gave me 46 cents back, which was still 3 cents short but I thanked her and left highly ticked off. I have been taking prescribed narcotic pain killers for about three months due to a vehicle accident. I was on one that was very strong and had no problems at all filling the prescription. I have been switched to a lower dosage and the past two times I attempted to have it filled Rite Aid made it very difficult. The first time they told me my insurance wouldn't cover it. At 5pm, I left and returned at 6pm the same day and magically my insurance covered it. The next week (as my scripts are only written for 5 days) I had my doctor call it into Rite Aid Pharmacy. I asked my brother-in-law to pick it up for me the pharmacist on that day and they said I needed to come back the following day for it as it was a day early for my insurance to pay for it.

So the next day on July 14, my mother went into the pharmacy to pick it up as directed to do by the pharmacist the previous day and they said it could not be filled until the 17th of the month, the whole time blaming it on my insurance company then proceeded to tell my mother (the pharmacist) that I was abusing my prescription by taking more than directed. I have never taken more than directed. Rite Aid puts the stickers on the pill bottle and it has read for three months take 1 to 2 pills every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. I take two every 4 hours. Never had a problem before. The pharmacist was rude to my mother, insulted me in front of customers and wouldn't explain anything to her so we could better understand the problem.

So I then went in and asked what the problem was. The pharmacy tech was rude and called for the pharmacist. He came around the glass window and proceeded to tell me I abused my prescription and I'm over dosing myself then told me it was an insurance problem then told me my doctor wrote the script wrong. Then when I kept asking why I couldn't just pay cash being, that I was out of my prescription, he then said, "No, we don't accept cash." (mind you I had paid cash twice before). He then told me he just wasn't filling it because I was a drug addict! Right in front of three customers. He then just walked away as if I didn't exist.

So I went home without my prescription, called my insurance company and they had already released the payment for the medication. I had already called and complained to the manager of Rite Aid who could do nothing. So I called the pharmacy back being that I live 30 minutes away. I spoke with the night manager who went to the pharmacy to ask if I could have my prescription and while I was on the phone the pharmacist said, "No, too early. The ins won't pay for it and she's a drug addict and irritating me. She abused her medication. I'm not giving it to her." Mind you it was paid for! So I had to go 36 hours without my prescription in pain and feeling horrible because my body had adjusted to having that small amount of narcotic in it because the pharmacist wanted to be difficult.

I returned the next day to have all my stuff transferred to a different pharmacy and when I asked for it they came to the window with my medication all filled. The date on the bottle was July 14th, the day I was in the pharmacy attempting to pick it up when the pharmacist insisted my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Convenient! Needless to say the district manager was suppose to call me back today when he returned from vacation however I have not heard from him as of yet.

The medication was picked up and after taking the first puff, I noticed that there was another label under mine, so I peeled it off. To my great surprise, the medicine was previously issued to someone else almost three (3) weeks earlier (date filled - 06/03/2010 use by 05/28/2010) and I was given (date filled-06/18/2010 use by 06/18/2011). Basically this person was given about 11 months to use the medication, while I was given a year! I was rather curious about this discrepancy so I contacted the pharmacy.

I spoke to the pharmacist who was very rude and indicated that she was not doing anything illegal as pharmacies do this sort of thing all the time! I simply asked if they were aware of the double label on my medication! The other person's information (name, address, tel #) was visible along with their doctor's info. Someone took an ink pen and tried to conceal the info but it failed. Not once did the pharmacist apologize or acknowledge responsibility for what appeared to me to be a fraudulent act. Instead, she tried to make me feel that I was wrong to bring it to her attention. My single question made her very defensive and hostile. It appeared to me that maybe her pharmacy had something to hide!

I am really concerned about this Rite Aid Pharmacy as my autistic son's asthma medication is filled here and lately the medications seem to be flat! I thought it was his machine but now I'm not so sure! Recently he was hospitalized with pneumonia and a chest infection. I fear that expired or almost expired medications may have resulted in him getting pneumonia. He is on a medical steroid to help clear his lungs daily and he still got pneumonia. Something just does not add up.

I used hand sanitizer liberally after touching the bag, change, merchandise and receipt that Lisa had just sneezed and coughed all over before handing it to me. However, hand sanitizer doesn't prevent the free-floating germs from spreading and being ingested when it's done three feet away from away from you. I had gone to RiteAid to purchase an OTC pain reliever for my leg.

Due to my leg pain, my contact with anyone else was less than limited since I was preparing to be well for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. I phoned in my prescription for **; I went to pick it up a few days later. I had my two infants with me, I picked up a few other store items and waited in line at the pharmacy in order to purchase everything at once. When it was finally my turn, the Pharmacy Assistant, Lew, took my ** out of the Pharmacy bag in order to scan in the price. I noticed my ** on the counter. He then proceeded to ask if I would like my things double bagged. I think I said that it was not necessary. Meanwhile, I had an older customer hanging around the counter (not uncommon at this Rite Aid, most of the clients seem to be older). Lew handed me a bag and I left the area promptly (I did not like someone so close to my newborn) and put the bag into my stroller basket.

When I got home a while later, I had ran some other errands, I took my children out of the stroller and then the Rite Aid bag. The pharmacy bag was flat and empty. I looked in the plastic Rite Aid bag, my medicine was not there. I promptly phoned the pharmacy. Lew answered; I explained to him that I had been in about a 1/2 hour earlier and could he please check to see if there was a medicine bottle left at the register or if it had fallen behind it. He said sure (he did not ask who I was, or what it was). He came back a second later and said that nothing was there. I then had to ask if he would like to know who I was, and what it was. He said sure; I told him that I was concerned that all of my personal information was on that bottle. He responded by saying he understood. I then asked if they would like to take down my cell phone number in case they came across my prescription, he did so. I then phoned the store to talk to the store manager, Bill. Lew answered again.

I told him that I would like to speak with the store manager, to let him know what happened and to let his staff know, just in case someone else had found it in their pharmacy bag. I held on the line for over 7 minutes. I hung up and called again. Of course, Lew answered. This time, Bill answered very unenthusiastically. I told him why I was calling. He said okay. I then had to ask him if he would like my name and number, just in case anything appeared?!

The next day, I went in with my mother and children. I approached the Pharmacy and they barely looked at me. I asked if they had found my prescription. They said no. I asked if they could replace it. They said, "Well, even if your doctor calls it back in, your insurance won't pay for it again so soon." Really, no kidding! I said, "I have always been a good customer. I did not come in here blaming anyone." As soon as those words came out of my mouth, Lew turned bright red and got snippy, "As we have been to you!"

At that point my mother asked to contact a supervisor. They said they would do it and give them my info. My mother said, "You don't have a number?" They said, "No, we will pass on your info and someone will call you." My mother then asked if the number was a secret, and the Pharmacist said, "1-800-Rite-Aid (they were yelling over us and getting hyper the entire time, I managed to hold my composure)." I asked if we could review the security tapes, since they had a camera right behind them. They told me to go up front to do it. I did so, the security guard didn't understand why they couldn't do it back there, but proceeded to review the tape. She said that she could see my prescription bottle on top of the flattened pharmacy bag and then see Lew bagging things for me. She saw him pick up the prescription and not place it into the paper pharmacy bag. She said, "You can't tell whether the medicine ever made it into the bag," that he handed to me, because his back was blocking this view.

The next day, the store manager, Bill, left me a message, saying that nothing had turned up and sorry for this. Too little too late. All they had to do was show an ounce of concern, not only for me and my privacy, but also for the elderly people who go there. It could have ended up in one of their bags. They could have phoned the few people who received prescriptions after me, but alas nothing. They couldn't care less about me. The attitude was, "Too bad, you paid and now it is your problem, not ours." It is really unbelievable, I guess Rite Aid does not care at all about losing their customers. I have gone there for at least 12 years, so has my husband, and now I have two children. Our business is going elsewhere. I have had other incidents with them (like the time they didn't put enough medicine in for my son, and got defensive saying they always put in extra).

They have never once offered to counsel me on the medication; they just have you click the box saying either that you have been counseled or you refused to be. I always had to ask, and always read all of the pamphlet info. The pharmacist has been snippy before. They must be very miserable there. This is the only excuse I have for their behavior. I did look to report this further, but I could not find a number. I did email customer service at Rite Aid (the night that I went to the pharmacy and they were extremely rude, in fact I was so aggravated I typed with one hand, b/c I had my baby in my arms, and made terrible typos) and have never had a response. I am extremely irritated and extremely busy. I was going to phone the customer service today, but came across this website and thought it might be more satisfying!

If I would've known you were going to take this long, I would’ve kept that register open.“ She didn't even take the time to see what was going. She just assumed I was wrong. So, I calmly walked to the back of the line of about 5 people with my two daughters. Once I got up to the register, a few other people were behind me and she told the other customers to get in front of me before she handled me.

Once I am finally at the register, Vickie and Bea argue about who is going to handle me because they don't feel like messing with me. So then the manager Bea checks me out and the computer accepted my coupons and Vickie, the first cashier who checked me out did the coupons wrong. There was no apology. I have been shopping at this store since May 2009 and I don't think that the assistant supervisor should act in that manner and your company should investigate with a mystery shopper who is not of African descent to see how racist the all black employees are at this store (I'm Asian). Thank you for all your help.

I was lured by Rite Aid to bring my prescriptions to them because they would price match WalMart's generic prescription prices. Now when I go in, they always ring my prescriptions full price when I remind them of the pricing I am supposed to get. They told me that I had to remind them. Yesterday, the pharmacist said they would no longer price match and told me that Rite Aids will be charging $8.99 for their generic prescriptions. They made me wait 45 minutes while they changed the price and said they expected corporate to notify them any day of the new policy. I think they are pulling some kind of scam, getting customers to bring their prescriptions to them and then try to charge them full price.

I recently lost my third child at 11 weeks. I visited my doctor and received the news, which devastated me tremendously. My doctor prescribed me with a medication that I was unaware would not be covered by my medicaid. Rite Aid then made me aware that my medicaid would not cover the generic product that was prescribed. They offered to order the name brand product that my medicaid would cover, which would arrive two days later. I checked two days later, never arrived. I called the third day, and they said there was a shipping error, and it would arrive that day. I was advised to call after 4pm the same day to check on my order.

I called, and I spoke with a pharmacist that clearly had no idea what I was talking about, like I didn't just speak to a pharmacist 4 hours prior. At this point, I'm offended. She told me that they have my signature for the product that they were suppose to be ordering, claiming that I've already picked it up. Yes, they would have my signature, for the pain pills that was prescribed and the prenatal vitamins that I no longer needed. Not for the ** that they claimed they were ordering for me.

I waited a full week approximately for a order that clearly either was not placed, or for inaccurate records and workers that cannot do their job correctly. I spoke with my Gynecologist today and made him aware of the situation, and he was furious. I was suppose to be taking the ** all week long until I was able to get my dead child out of me (basically), and they never ordered my product.

I would like to take further action, but it could have been a mistake on a workers part. If anything changes regarding my health, I will completely sue Rite Aid. I have all the paperwork, prescriptions, documents, whatever I need to prove my case. No one wants to walk around with a dead baby inside of them, at all. They don't realize the severity of this situation and how I could get internally hurt or get some kind of infection from this. If they don't want to do their job, they need to give it to someone else that will, and will do it right. If you don't know the answer, don't make something up or erase someone's records. People's lives rely on medication, sadly. I will know in three days if anything changed health wise.

The pills look exactly like another type of pill that I have. I was very concern that I was given the wrong medication! I happen to know that Rite Aid Pharmacy is known for medicine mixed-ups.

On April 5, 2010, I was told that they could 'hand write me a description' I refused and asked for a bottle that correctly identified the type of medicine that I had paid for. I was told that they did not have anymore and that they would have to order it and that I could pick it up the next day after 2:00pm.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, I was experiencing a 'flare-up' in pain. It is very important that I have my medication in a timely manner. I took the time out of my day to have something corrected that could have been taken care of initially. Now, I have to go back a third time due to the medical error in in refilling my medicine by the Manager of all people!

On about the 18 of March, my daughter and so drove me to the Rite Aid store to leave some new prescriptions a new pain management doctor gave me. My daughter was driving (35yrs old), my son in the back seat (45 yrs old) and I in the passenger seat (63). My daughter gave the scripts to the young girl inside the drive thru and ask her to tell me what the scrips were. She came back, told me and said, one would have to be ordered and it would take 5 days. I said fine, just keep them and I will be back to pick up the one sleeping med later today or tomorrow and the others when the ordered one came in, then we left.

After a week, I called to see if the meds were ready and the druggist informed me that there were no scripts there for me. The doctor had prescribed, **, some kind of patch for pain and something for pain in the nerve endings, as well as **. We picked up the ** and that was it. So when the druggist told me I had no scripts, I ask why. She called the young girl at home and the girl told her she had given the scripts back to us. I was told at that time, they had a copy of the patch med which was some kind of narcotic, I had never heard of.

I asked where the rest were and she kept saying "the girl gave them back". I asked her why she was saying that she gave them back, since we got nothing back and she said it was store policy to hand the scripts back until they got the order in. There was only one order, so where are the others? I have had 12 surgeries, three on my neck, which still gives me terrible pain and my back as well.

I requested they look at their security file and they said at that point, it had been too long and it would not be on the film? I decided to call FDA and they gave me the number of the Board of Pharmacists. I called them and they sent an investigator out to the store. The store is having security to pull the video, they claim they didn't have it anymore, but I have to stay in pain until that happens. I have totally been given a run around with Rite Aid with different stories each time I called. I also called the Pharmacy district manager to get him in on this problem. I told all of them, I will not stop until this problem is corrected and you see that the girl did not give anything back to any of us. Of course the doctor, whom I had only gone to once, will not refill the scripts, since the drug store was saying they gave the scripts back to me.

Last night, I had to be taken to the hospital for pain and was lucky enough to get a nice doctor, to whom I explained all the Rite Aid problem and she wrote me a few (12) pills script. Hopefully, the drug store will have straightened their mess up by the time they run out. I do feel it is my right to contact an attorney due to the pain and suffering I am having to endure from Rite Aids mistake? I intend on calling a lawyer the day after Easter. I have been in horrible pain since March 23, 2010. Rite Aid has not been in pain, nor the doctor, it was their mistake but I am the one suffering. PS. When I told the druggist "if the girl was supposed to hand me back the script that they had to order, why would she have handed me back the one they always add to the computer, even if I still have one refill on it" ? To that, I have no answer!

I have complaints about the Pharmacy at Rite Aid Store #10520 in Flemington, NJ. I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 31 yrs and take NPH Insulin. The prescription that my doctor fills out always allows me to get 2 vials as I take about 42 units a day of it. One day, when picking up my NPH Insulin, the Pharmacist tells me that she will only give me 1 vial since this should last me a month. First of all, my Dr. filled the prescription for 2 vials, and second, 1 vial will not last me a month. Even if my insurance does not cover it, which it does, she did not even explain why I am only allowed the 1 vial. To me this seemed like insurance fraud. I don't know, but it just didn't seem right.

My second complaint was on 1/30/10. I had picked up my prescription for ** 10-20MG for a 90-day supply. The pills are white, small and oblong shape. Just recently, when pouring the pills into my hand to take my medicine, I noticed a small, round blue pill. It had the #2101 on one side of the pill and a fancy "V" on the other. Needless to say, I was scared because I found a foreign pill in my bottle. By the way, the bottle is a Rite-Aid one, which meant it was filled out by the Pharmacist.

I had looked up the pill online and found out it's called ** which is used to treat depression. I am taking the time out to write this because I think this Rite Aid Pharmacy should be investigated. I don't want a mistake like this to happen again to someone and become a fatal mistake. I was very lucky. I have switched to a decent pharmacy now and will never shop at Rite Aid. I will be telling their headquarters about this as well.

They filled the wrong Rx. I went back to the store the next day and told them. The lady told me to just double up and she would fix it. So when it was time to refill my Rx, I called and the computer said no Rx listed for that. I took the bottles, the wrong one and the correct one, to the store and told them what happened. I told them that I should not have to pay another copay because I paid more than double the last time.

The lady told me too bad, it was my fault. I told her she is the one with the computer that should know what Rx is correct. This was not the first time Rite Aid has done something to me. Well I took the empty bottle and went to Walmart and they filled it in no time. I have heard lots of complaints about Rite Aid including from my daughter when they did not mix the medication and could have killed my grandson. I will never shop at Rite Aid again. I had recently purchased Maalox Total relief which contains bismuth subsalicylate, a substance to which I am allergic. While picking up my scripts, I asked to exchange the Total for a non-bismuth subsalicylate version of Maalox. I was approached by the manager, a middle aged, short, balding gentleman, who refused to exchange the product and actually chided me for trying to do so without a receipt.

He did this at the pharmacy in the presence of the pharmacists and other customers. This was during the week of 2.21.2010. This was clearly inappropriate, although I did not argue with the gentleman. As a doctor, I am aware that during a recall a receipt is unnecessary, although I would have brought it if I had it. I would like to exchange the product. I would also like an apology from the manager for inappropriate professional behavior, in public, since it was done in public.

I was shopping at the Rite Aide store number #5693 on January 11th. I was with my 3 children ages, 2, 7 and 9. I had all my items and went to the cashier. The cashier scanned all my items and she stopped. I asked her if there was a reason why she could not complete the transaction. She said the assistant manager named Sue, wanted to check me out. So we were standing there waiting for Sue to come out. We waited about 8 minutes for her to decide to come out.

So she started re-ringing some items and I told her I did not want them. The cashier was done ringing me up. Sue asked my why I did not want the items and I told her, "I just don't want them." She asked me again why I did not want the items. I said, "What does it matter? I just do not want them." She then started telling me that everybody in the store is afraid of me, they all hate me, they refuse to help me, I am evil and just a bad person. I defended myself and told her to do her job and scan my coupons. I also told her to read her coupon policy because I should not have to know it more than she does. She then tells me that she feels sorry for my children that I am their mother, in front of my 3 kids and other customers.

At this point, she had no right to attack me or my children. The only thing I complained about is their not knowing their own coupon policy. She notices my 9 year old daughter playing with my blackberry and she asks her if she is recording her. I tell Sue not to speak to my children. So Sue says, "I am calling the police because your daughter is recording me." So Sue called the police and the police came out. My children are naturally scared but I am disgusted by her poor judgment and lack of common sense with regards to customer service. She should not be around the public. The ironic thing is, my daughter did record some parts of this situation, she has on video Sue telling us she feels sorry for them because I am their mother.

I have called customer service numerous times about this situation. I have called the regional VP office and every time I am told somebody will get back to me. It has been a 3 weeks now and nobody has called me. It just seems to me this type of behavior that Sue has displayed is acceptable behavior for Rite Aid employees. It is not acceptable for me or my children to be treated this way. I am disgusted that Sue is able to talk to my children and me in this manner because I am an avid coupon user.

Donald, the other manager, at this Rite Aide location has told my husband that the managers at the Loma Linda, Redlands store and his store all call each other about me whenever I am shopping in their stores. Donald said that I commit coupon fraud and loss prevention is "onto me". So every time I shop at the Loma Linda store, the cashier will run to the copy machine and make a copy of my receipt before handing it to me. They will call the manager from the office and tell them "you know who is here" while I am standing right in front of them. They will also have a manager stand behind the cashiers while I am checking out. I am not invisible and I am not committing a crime by using coupons.

Just today in the Redlands store, the Store Manager stood behind the cashier and the cashier had no problem scanning my coupons. The Store Manager read the coupon after the cashier scanned it and the Store Manager tossed the coupon to me and she said, "You cannot use this; it says one per customer." The coupon did not say one per customer! I told her it does not say that. She then says, "Well, I do not to sell it you. You already bought 1. You have yours." I told her you still have a full shelf of them. She said, "I just do not want to sell it to you." I asked her, "Based on what? My race, my gender, why?" She said, "I need to help another person", and she said, "next". While I was in the store, I heard her tell the new employee that loss prevention is "watching me".

So now I am being harassed again because I use a coupon for every item I buy from Rite Aid. I use coupons for every restaurant I go to, for groceries, for movies, everything. It seems these managers and employees at these Rite Aide stores are discriminating against me because I use coupons. The Loma Linda store manager asked me, "If you are not doing anything wrong, why should it bother you?". I explained to him that I should be given the same customer service as the non-coupon shoppers are given. I should not be treated like a criminal because I am using coupons. If Rite Aid continues to let their managers treat coupon customers like criminals, a lot of couponers will take their business elsewhere.

While I was typing this up, the District Manager named Ron called. He was very defensive and said that I deserved to have had the police called on because I had called the managers a moron, stupid and dumb (I did not call her any names). He also said I tried to confuse the cashier by changing my mind and having her void off the vitamins and I brought this upon myself because I use coupons and visit different stores. He said by my using coupons, I tie up their lines and I am rude to all the employees.

Now the only reason I complain is if the managers and employees accuse me of coupon fraud or if they get mad because I have coupons. I have every right to defend myself when they accuse me of illegal activity. The District Manager Ron said there is nothing else to do. It is my fault and when I get off the phone, it is the end. He is done dealing with me and speaking to me.

On January 13, 2009, I had experienced an outrageous situation that may not be part of living in a democratic society. The most important thing is that this situation has been created by a necessary member of health care team in the form of denial of performing services to 3 year old patient.

On January 13, 2010 at 6:25 pm, I have visited Rite Aid Pharmacy store located at 108 street, Forest Hills, NY to order prescribed medication for my 3 year old child who has been diagnosed with Bronchiolitis on the same day. It would be relevant to say that my family has been using this Pharmacy store for similar services for several years and all required information has been available to pharmacist. At the time of submitting my order, I had advised the clerk at the drop-off counter that the patient has new insurance coverage starting in 2010 and presented insurance card from the United Healthcare to make sure that there is no delay in receiving my order. Clerk has looked at my card and collected personal information such as the patient's date of birth and phone number writing on prescription receipt. I was also advised to come back in 60 minutes and pick up my order.

When I came back at around 7:40 pm to pickup my order, another clerk at pickup counter asked me for my insurance card and I presented the same card I had shown at 6:25 pm. The clerk has advised that this card is not covering prescriptions and may be only used for doctor visit and as result my order may not be given to me unless I pay in full. In reply to my question why this was not pointed to me at the time of order, it was implied that it is not part of their duties to clarify such issues and I must have prescription card. To the best of my knowledge, my family has medical insurance coverage, which includes prescription services as well and I called my insurance provider right away to obtain this information. I also notified my wife on the issue, since she is the primary insurance holder for current coverage our family has.

When I reached United Healthcare representative, I was advised that prescription service coverage is provided by a different company, CVS caremark and the pharmacist sure is able to assist me with finding my coverage information by calling that company. I also received a call from my wife who had reached CVS caremark helpline and they provided her with another phone number, that may be used by the pharmacist to obtain our coverage information.

When I released the above information to the pharmacists, I was told by a women pharmacist who appeared to be a head of the team that it is not their duties to call and verify coverage and unless I have a prescription card, I may not receive any services from them. Since clarifying the issue with prescription card was indefinitely delaying my child's treatment and it was very critical to give medicine to my son before bedtime which is 8 pm, I agreed to pay for medicine in full and pickup my order and deal with insurance information later on.

Then, I was told that my order was not prepared due to above situation and it may only be completed for the next day, since pharmacy's working hours are almost over and they have not enough time to complete my order. I was really stressed by the whole situation and the reluctance of the pharmacy store representatives to perform their duties, so I requested store manager's presence. Then, I was told by the women pharmacist who seems to be a team lead, that I may complain as long as I want but since I was a very demanding customer, this store will never perform any services to me at all. The argument that this medication is required by a certain time for a three year old boy was not taken to consideration.

Shortly a gentleman had shown up asking me what was happening. When I started describing the situation, he asked me to leave the store. Since I was denied services at this store and I had very doubtful opportunity to find an open pharmacy store in the neighborhood at that time, I chose to leave and address this situation later. It would be relevant to mention that when I was asking for the names of representatives and store manager, I was not given any of that information. I also did not see any name tags attached to any of the Rite Aids representatives clothes.

I was able to get medication at a CVS store in our neighborhood, located at Queens blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375, that is open till 11 pm. CVS representative had listened to my situation with the coverage and the fact that I did not have prescription card in my hands did not prevent him from getting coverage information in 5 minutes and releasing all medication to me in 25 minutes from the time I placed it. It was at 9:14 pm.

What really concerns me in this situation how is it possible, that a pharmacist who is a necessary member of health care team and who also has legal duties of care to patients has knowingly delayed performing services and denied releasing care resources to a 3 years old patient? How is it possible that a patient, who is a United States born citizen with an existing medical insurance coverage, is not able to get services that ris equired for his healthy living due to professional misconduct of a pharmacist? Why did the pharmacist, who had my insurance card in her hands, not verify the information and not advise me that I needed another document at the time I submitted my order? Why did the pharmacist who had all my contact information never contact me and advise that I might be experiencing a delay in receiving medication by the time it was agreed? How may I be sure that after being a "demanding customer", I will be provided with quality medication at that store? I hope all these questions will not remain unanswered and this issue will be investigated and addressed. I also expect that some disciplinary actions and evaluation of professional skills of the representatives I was dealing with on 1/13/2010 will take place.

It seems that Rite-Aid sale tax does not conform to the regulations that LA County used to be sales tax was 8.25% now changed to 9.25% and Orange County used to be 7.75% and now 8.75%. I have noticed on several occassions that Rite-Aid sales tax is far beyond this mentioned %. I went yesterday 12/6/09 to buy some hair dye and I usually calculate the tax right before I approach the cashier, so I know exactly how much I am paying. My bill was $5.98 and they charged me a sales tax of .87 and the total came up to $6.85. If I apply the 8.75% for Orange county my sales tax should only be .52 with a total of $6.50. I asked the cashier#54993333 why is the tax high ans he said that he does not know since this was his first day of work. This is not the only time I have bought stuffs at Rite-Aid and every time I noticed that tax is high. For one thing on their receipt they do not print the sales tax they charge to customers. This is a form of consumer to defraud customers like me. I want Rite-aid to be investigated on their sales tax practices. They are getting away with murder. I also want to be compensated for the over sale taxes they charge me on few occasions not only this particular situations I cited as an example. If this does not stop I do not have any alternative but to file suit against Rite-Aid for misrepresentation of sale tax and consumer fraud.

    Good morning,
On Friday, 11/13/09 I rushed my 77 year old mother to Christiania Hospital ER. She had the hives so badly, they had entered her throat. After medicating and watching her for six hours, she was sent home with a prescription for Hydroxyzine 25 mg, and told to take otc Benadryl. They did give her enough medicine to last through the night because it was about 11:30 p.m. when she was discharged. The next day, I took her script to Rite Aid, Store #11179, 399 New London Rd, Newark DE 19711, they filled the script, rang up the Benadryl. I drove to my mom’s house and left the medication with her, as well as her meal for the day. Around 3:30 p.m. I received a call from my mother stating she choked on one of the pills, and went to get another one when she noticed the bottle said : Patricia Brock (patient), the medication was HYDROCODONE – APAP 7.2-750 Tab. At the time, I was in Wilmington DE grocery shopping. I was very upset, so I called the Rite Aid and spoke to the pharmacist, Yen. I told Yen what the problem was, she stated that she was concerned about my mom having the wrong medication, but Yen never once asked if my mom was okay, or if she had taken the medication. I then drove to Rite Aid to pick up the correct medication. Yen refused to give me the correct medication, but because I did not bring back the HYDROCODONE. (I have a heart condition and my rate was running high). I informed Yen that I was not going to run around a fix the mistake she made. I did tell her to feel free to drive to my mother’s house to pick up the medication herself. Yen called another lady in the store, and they agreed (after I started yelling) to give me the correct medication. When I arrived at my mother’s house and picked up the medication and went home, I found out via the internet that it was Oxycontin, and very strong narcotic....I went to A-Fib that evening, had an on-call physician walk me through what medicine to take. I cannot understand how this happens. My worst fear is that if my mom had choked on the large pill, she would be back in the hospital with god knows what type of reaction. I am writing to any and every agency to see what our rights are. Your response is so greatly needed.

I don't know if what this pharmaist did to me is illegal or not, but I am so angry and taken back that I cannot allow her to victimize me..I have been on Suboxone for about a year and a half. If you dont know what that is, it is the result of taking prescribed pain medication for 5 years. To keep from going through withdrawl from this pain medication, I take suboxone intil the treatment is over..I get suboxone from my doctor in Harrisburg PA, because doctors charge a lot to treat it in Delaware. I refuse to go on Methadone..This is not something I am proud of, I trusted my doctors and should have known the dangers of pain medication. This medication helps me maintain a normal life. Anyway. I had been having some issues and decided to talk to my regular doctor in Delaware about it.I had not told my regular Doctor about suboxone because I did not want to be judged..Evidentally my doctor diagnosed me with having ADD and gave me a prescription for Aderal. Hoping this medication would work, I went into Rite Aid to fill the script and have never been so disrespected in my life. This pharmacist acted as if I was doing something sneaky. Im sure people do, but until 2 weeks ago, I had barely heard of this medication. She treated me like a drug addict because I let her know that I was on suboxone..This was not my normal Rite Aid as I was visiting my mother and had errands to run, it was convenient. The pharmacist let me know that ethically she would not fill the prescription, confused and very upset, I left. When I went to my pharmacist, also Rite Aid. I asked her if suboxone and Aderal interfere with each other, and then spoke to her about the pros and cons of this medication. She said "Absolutley not". I decided to try the medication. I took 1 tablet a day and it worked very well, I improved at work exc... I noticed whern I went back to my doctor I was being treated differently, sure enouph after speaking to my doctor, the pharmacist called her that day. This is everything I wanted to avoid. Shouldnt it be my right to decide what i take?? I could see if these two medications clashed, but they didnt and it is very clear to me that this woman ASSUMED that I am a drug addict, just after something. Now I cannot be treated properly for ADD, and I am frustrated.

The next issue with them was my birth date. (Possibly the other Kathy's?) They had my birthdate as the 14th not the 17th. To avoid the hassle that came EVERY time I went there the pharmacist suggested that I just say that my birthdate WAS the 14th. Knowing this was not the proper way to handle it, I raised the issue on a later visit and ask them to change the record. The cashier or tech on that particular visit suggested I contact my insurance. I responded, "THEY have the RIGHT birth date--you need to change it in YOUR system. Finally, I witnessed the most unbelievable and irresponsible act yet. I went 20 to 10 minutes before the pharmacy closed to find that they had closed early and had wheeled the prescriptions to the front of the store where they were being dispensed by a cashier. Later, in a neighboring town, I ran across a former pharmacist of this particular Rite Aid who told me that it had "gotten so bad there", he was driving an additonal 60 miles a day to work at a different store.

I refilled a prescription for my cat and was supposed to receive 2 refills, on the bottle it said no refills left and lastly I get 5 prescriptions every month from 3 different doctors for different reasons and only 1 bottle has the correct prescribing doctor’s name on it. Though, to date, dealing with this pharmacy has been a headache, there is no real physical or economic damage that resulted due to the pharmacists’ negligence. Caveat emptor.

I have been going to this pharmacy for almost a year. It is the closest one to my home, literally walking distance. The only meds I take are for thyroid and birth control with the occasional antibiotic for my daughter and/or myself. This pharmacy and store in general are always slow, so when I go in I know that I will have to spend some time. It is a pain at times, but I go through it because it is close to my house. The pharmacy staff also are always rude; if not rude, then they are very unhappy. You get that since they are overworked and unhappy at their job.

Today, however, that rudeness was taken to a whole new level. I was made to feel like a criminal and was talked to in a way that is totally unacceptable. My thyroid medicine was changed and an additional thyroid medicine was added. I asked for the name brand of both, not the generic. That was the 1st issue. A nameless lady on the phone said, “We have always filled generic for you, why change?” I simply said, “I want the name brand.” The doctor had also written the prescription for 188 mcq of ** and it does not come this way, it only comes in 88, 100, 175 or 200. So they demanded on calling the doctor. “No problem,” I said, “do what you need to do.”

I called my doctor and he said he had spoken to them and that he didn't understand why they were making a big deal of this, but he did want to change my script to 175 to avoid any confusion and keep the ** at 2 5mg per day. I called Rite Aid to let them know I had talked to the doctor and the lady (who would not give me her name) was very hateful, saying we have to talk to the doctor who had already called but no one took the call. It was a huge mess and bottom line is that I was yelled at and hung up on after 2 calls and 1 visit to this store. The woman was argumentative and refused to listen. She kept saying that my doctor had called in a prescription the day before. I'm like, “No, they didn't. I saw my doctor today.”

What a mess. When I went back to the store for the 2nd time to pick up my meds after 5 hours, it still was not ready for me. I asked to fill out a formal complaint and was again attacked by this pharmacy staff. The one lady literally yelled at me from across the pharmacy in front of the pharmacist who has done nothing. The manager was totally unhelpful, too. Unbelievable treatment. Crazy-making stuff. Stores no longer care about the people they serve who keep them in business. Where is all the customer service gone? Needless to say, I will no longer ever go to a Rite Aid again. By the way, this store never told me the 1st name only of this crazy woman. The whole store is absolutely crazy.

Our local Wilmington Pike Rite-Aid has pretty good customer service (a nice older lady, and a not-so-nice, grumpy old man). recently we were traveling to Detroit for a few days, then into Canada, and in Detroit I realized I had forgotten ALL my medication. there are three things I take daily for my fibromyalgia, and neuropathy, and there are several others I sometimes need. I went to sleep without them, woke up without them, and then we stopped at a Detroit Rite-Aid, on Van Dyke because I knew I HAD to get them before I went on into Canada, by this time I was already in a lot of pain, to the point that I was having trouble walking, talking and the pain was making me nauseous and grouchy.
First none of the four people acknowledged me as I waited at the drop-off counter. I stood there for five minutes, and not until I started complaining to my husband in Spanish, did one lady turn around. First she told me there was nothing she could do. Then after me telling her this is why we use Rite-Aids, she took my name. I had to spell it for her and then got frustrated and just pulled out my driver's lisence. Another woman said, why don't you just look at her insurance card. She was very rude, and was not happy about me not wanting to come back for my prescription. I left the store to sit in the car because I was in so much pain. My husband waited for the prescriptions, then brought them out to me. First, she charged us $90 for a 3-day supply of pills when I only pay $70 for a full month's worth of pills. I know that my husband has been without his medication in strange cities many times and this has never happened to him. The pharmacist said that our insurance would not cover it and that we had to pay full price. Could 9 50mg lyrica, 3 100mg amitryptiline, and 3 20 mg cymbalta really cost $90???? Then, on top of that as we are crossing into Canada and I'm opening the bag 2 of the 3 prescriptions are completely the wrong pill! 2 out of 3! A teenager working at a fast food joint could have done better. How do 4 people at a pharmacy not realize that they are handing out the wrong pills. The amitryptiline looked familiar because it was a lower dose I used to take. The cymbalta was completely wrong--instead of a green-Lilly-3235 pill they gave me a blue and white-Lilly -3240 which is a higher dose than what I take. I had no idea what it was at the time, and would not take it. I also would not take the wrong amitryptiline because at the time with no internet access, I was not sure what it was at all.

On 4/21/09, I submitted a prescription for my son for ** 20 mg tablets. The prescription was for #20 - 2 tab bid (two tablets, twice a day). I received only 10 tablets with instructions to take two once a day with food. There was no damage done with this error because my son had been instructed by the doctor to take two twice a day, but it scares me to think how easily this mistake could have been made on a more critical prescription which could have led to health issues. Pharmacists are supposed to double check all prescriptions filled on their watch, so not only did the tech fill it incorrectly, but the pharmacist failed to check it.

This past year has been hell. I have four degenerating discs in my neck. It's very painful. After countless drugs, my doctor and I found a pill that works for my pain and does not make me a zombie. Great, right? Wrong. My pill, **, is rare according to Rite Aid. Because I am only thirty three, most of the pharmacists look at me as though I am a drug-seeking individual, instead of someone with a serious medical condition. I tell the pharmacist every month, "Hey, I will need this same prescription next month." It goes in one ear and out the other. Some months, I am told, "We don't have enough to fill your prescription." I ask, "Is there any way you could give me an emergency amount until you can fill it?" I am told that I could try another Rite Aid. That would not be so bad if I had a car. I thought Rite Aid was supposed to take care of its customers?

Last month, I went to the store around the corner from me (9910 Frankford Ave.) and was told, "No, we don't have your pills, but wait, didn't you get your pills at Academy Plaza last month (I begged a friend for a ride; I would not have made it by closing time otherwise)? Why don't you go there?" Rite Aid bought all the mom and pop drugstores, all the places that cared about customers. Now all that's left is Rite Aid. They don't care about the people because they know if you need medicine, you have to come to them. I hope this complaint is seen by the right person because the Rite Aid at 9910 Frankford Ave. needs a lesson in customer service and I am sure I am not the only person that feels that way.

There have been many mishaps. I had to go without pain medication after a serious motorcycle accident. I got numerous excuses and no apology. I was told, "Well, life doesn't work out that way sometimes," over and over again. I have had to take my Rxs back to my doctor on 5 different occasions because they refused to call the doctor. My fiance is now without medication, even after I went in and asked them if they had the medication. When I went to pick it up, they didn't have it. Here is the scary part. I was asking for a medication named ** that was filled under my fiance's name. He came back and said, "I don't have a medication for a person named **, only Pamela."
