I picked up my prescription for ** on 10/29/10. Thought I had the flu, thought my back was getting a lot worse, priced new beds, threatened my husband with divorce and couldn't sleep. I noticed my pills weren't working very well, so thought maybe it was a different generic. On 11/26/10, I looked up the pill on PDR and it was not any version of **! It was similar to an **! I called Rite Aid and was told to "come in and we'll correct the mistake. Don't know how it could happen." So, I went by, was handed a month's supply of my prescription, no ID required, no signature, didn't check my old bottle and just once again said didn't know how it happened but at least give me some relief! I've put in a call to the RA 800# and supposed to get a call within 2 days.

I purchased a lot of over-the -counter flu medicines, almost got a divorce, spent 25 days in extreme pain, almost spent $2500 on a new bed and yelled at my family a lot! I checked the withdrawal symptoms for ** and found out most of the problems I was having were probably withdrawal. I've been on ** for 8 years due to spinal canal stenosis and degenerative disc.

I ran out of my Rx for ** and my usual pharmacy was closed. On 11-7-10 when I realized it, I picked up the Rx at another location in **. At the time of pick-up, I was told by Jennifer who is the supervisor that they could only give me a week supply but that I could pick up the remainder of the medication at my local Rite Aid. At that time, I paid a co-pay of $75 for a week worth of medication. A week later, when I went to my local pharmacy, I was informed that I would need to fill the Rx for the month and pay the co-pay of $75. Jennifer should have ordered the remainder Rx or a month supply instead of just selling me a week supply for the same amount of month supply.

This location has a yearlong record of hiring very young pharmacists who don't seem to understand that competent customer service is part of their job. I can relate several recent instances of rude and indifferent service. Also, many instances of prescriptions not filled in a timely manner as well as lots of prescriptions partially filled because the store was yet again out of very commonly prescribed medications. Apparently the young women this location hires think serving customers is beneath them. If Rite Aid insists on hiring 'green' pharmacists, they should be responsible enough to train these people of the importance of respecting customers.

One young woman went so far as accusing my relative of stealing money from the counter. According to her, he paid for the prescriptions, then stole the money back from her! It was completely ridiculous. He told her she took the money and put it in the till, she insisted he stole it. A review of the store's videotape showed her accepting the money and putting it in the till. She barely acknowledged her outrageous mistake. We have had to change pharmacies despite the inconvenience this caused. I have recommended using mail order pharmacies for ongoing prescriptions and shops with a delivery option for other needs.

I am volunteering my time and money to assist in the health care needs of an ill 86 year-old woman who has been abandoned by her family. As part of this care, I drive into town to pick up her medications when needed. Yesterday, while picking up the monthly medications, I decided to transfer her medications to my own pharmacy, which is in one of the grocery store I usually go to, in order to save trips/gas/time.

The Pharmacist was extremely aggressive in trying to talk me out of this action and wanted to know my reasons! I strongly believe this is my and the patient's own business entirely, and especially, not to be discussed out in public! Nevertheless, I was incensed enough to tell this woman Pharmacist that frankly, your phone refill system is much more time-consuming and unwieldy than my present pharmacy, whereupon one of Techs at the counter, Kathy, said then all you have to do is talk with us in person.

(This option does not appear to be available on the phone system, and I still have to listen to ads before the system allows you to enter information. ) Then the woman pharmacist added, "You don't want to be buying your toiletries at Safeway" (my pharmacy), and I replied, "I don't, I go to Walmart". Then she said, "Well, they are just down the street". Enough already! I resent even having to spend the time to write this down, but think other people should be aware of this. Thank you.

I just had a horrible experience at the RiteAid in the Alameda shopping center in Baltimore, MD. An off duty employee interrupted my transaction to check a price on something they wanted to buy and pushed me out of the way when the lady at the register continued to wait on me. What is the world coming to? I'll never shop there again!

I went to have a brand newt script filled. I went back to next day to pick it up. They screwed it up claiming I had medicaid? I gave them my Blue Cross/ Blue Shield ins. card. Told me they would fill script, come back in 2 hrs. I went back 3 hrs later and now they had order on hold said they couldn't fill it until Nov. 6th due to insurance coverage?

Finally, after having the run around with them, I said, "Please give me back my script, I will take it to another drug store." I waited another 10 minutes, they just ignored me, finally, I said just give it back. One of the girls finally was looking for it after several minutes of searching for it. She came around it. I experienced the worst customer service & the pharmacists are very clueless. The pharmacy staff are very rude. I will be going to a different pharmacy to have any scripts filled. I wasted so much time & energy at this rite aid pharmacy! No more! I will not spending a dime in this store.

I bought a DVD from from this store, and it didn't work. So I took it back, and the floor manager said it was against the law to return, or exchange DVDs. So I just wanted to know if this was a fact, because Wal-Mart will let you exchange DVDs. Are they breaking the law? It was like Rite Aid stole money from me, and there was nothing I could do about it. So now I am out $10.00 because of this, and I am already broke, so now I know I will never shop at Rite Aid ever again, and I will tell all my friends not to, and believe me they won't, after I tell them my story!

I went in to add money to my Green Dot Master Card, and bought a few items. Everything seemed to be going well as they took my money, but the Green Dot card would not ring up. It "must be entered manually" but the clerk could not do so. Her supervisor, Jacci, called Green Dot but when she got a foreign speaking person she hung up on them. She tried to get it so I could get my $400.00 back, since the card could not be run through their system, for some reason. The clerk said they had been having trouble with all credit cards.

It took 30 minutes for her to finally get the register opened and get my money back. For a supervisor, this is completely unacceptable. I do not blame the clerk as she was asking the supervisor for help, but getting none. I told them I was late returning back to work, but the whole mess kept going on for 30 minutes. I have had this type of card for 6-8 years and add to it every month, with no problem at all, but this was just crazy. It's not what I would expect from Rite Aid.

After being released from SNMH, the local Hospital, I went to get my Hospital ordered prescription. I picked up some inner soles for my shoes on sale and some rite aid brand mouth wash also on sale in large red numbers $ 2/5. When I got through the line to the counter, the lady clerk started ringing the items up and I saw she was not listing the advertised price. She curtly told me, do you have a wellness card? And I said no and that I was not informed of them even though I and my caretaker use them to a great extent. I asked why was I not told about the card before she had already ring up the items. I chose those items because the available money and I did not have the higher price with me. The clerk just snidely told me to get one. I picked up what money I had and was leaving while she was going on like the young girl she was. I'm 70 years old but not stupid. I stop turn and said " Something is wrong when two people come here and you charge them different prices".

I have had prescriptions filled at the Rite Aid store in Atascadero for many, many years. Normally I do not have issues except when I've been prescribed narcotics. I had been prescribed ** on several occasions (three knee surgeries within one year) and I kept noticing the prescriptions didn't last as long as they should have. I started counting the tablets when I picked up the prescriptions and found on average, each prescription was 1-4 tablets short, but since I didn't count them at the store, they said I couldn't prove it. I was recently prescribed ** and started to notice that they, too, were being shorted.

When I called headquarters they assured me that was not acceptable and promptly called the store and Terry the pharmacy manager called me to discuss the matter. He asked me for details and I let him know that the last two prescriptions (for 30 pills) were shorted by three pills, then five pills. He said that I should ask them to "double count" the pills in front of me and offered to give me five more...yes, I already paid for 30 pills.

I went to the store to discuss the matter further with him in person because I'm certainly not the only one taking narcotics, my prescriptions are so minor compared to other very sick people. I told him that to satisfy me, he should not ask me to have his staff "double count", but to pull up the records, research who has filled my last two prescriptions and start an investigation. He told me that when this has happened before, "double counting" was standard procedure. I'm stunned that a pharmacy wouldn't want to know who is not performing their job or who is blatantly stealing narcotics. I'm sure that "double counting" isn't the solution, nor should it be. People don't normally count the medication, they assume they were given the correct amount. My prescription bottle has the #30 on it, as well as someone's circle on it to indicate that was the amount put into the bottle.

I went to Rite Aid store (#5218) with my 75-year old father who was visiting from India to return an 'unused' Accu-check blood glucose machine and the test strips that came with it.

To give more background to this, I had purchased a Bayer Glucose Monitor machine along with the test strips for my father who was diagnosed mild diabetic prior to his arrival in the US. We wanted to make sure his glucose level is in control during his stay in the US and therefore went to Rite Aid to purchase it. My father started using the strips and after a few days of usage, he found out that the solution inside the glucose monitoring machine was expired.

Being concerned, my father approached Rite Aid and explained the situation and asked for a fresh machine along with the test strips. The store manager was apologetic to keep an expired machine at their store and gave him a brand new Accu-check blood glucose monitoring system along with the test strips. A few days after the purchase, my dad decided to return the Accu-Check machine as it was too complicated for him to handle. So he decided to return the new Accu-Check machine (which was not used) along with the test strips (again not used) and get a new Bayer glucose machine that he was comfortable using in the past.

As I went to Rite Aid with my Dad to return the machine, I approached to the pharmacy section where normally I get all the medicine/equipment related stuff. The assistant pharmacist told me that I needed to go to the main check-out section to do any returns/exchange. I was a little surprised then since I had done health/medical related purchases/returns in the Pharmacy section before; however, I went to the main check out section and told that there was a return that I had to make. The shift supervisor Nicholas told me that I needed to go back to the pharmacy section to do this return.

When I told him that I was sent back to the main check out area as I had already been there initially, the supervisor immediately called the Pharmacy section and asked if that was the case. After his conversation with the pharmacy section, he told me to head back there and the pharmacy manager Jessica will handle this. As I approached towards the pharmacy section, the pharmacy manager Jessica **, without listening to me belligerently, told me, "What's going on?” And this was not how Rite Aid does business and they could not just dump machines after machines that have been used. I was completely shocked by her attitude yet informed her modestly that the old machine that was returned had an expired solution, but this new machine was never used. I wasn’t sure what was the problem to return an unused machine.

Her tone of voice was very rude and definitely not the appropriate way to handle a customer. When she realized that the machine was brand new she instructed her assistant to do the return transaction. The assistant was also being very difficult and was hesitant to return the machine when it was unused. She also doubted that the machine was used when we repeatedly mention it was not.

In a very arrogant way, she told my father to call some 1-800 number printed on the machine box if the solution of the current machine was expired. Also, she put a note as 'Final Sale' on the receipt so that we couldn’t do any further transaction. Firstly, how are we supposed to know to dial a 1-800 number for an expired solution? Isn’t it the job of a pharmacist to give all these instructions after the customer has purchased medical equipment from their pharmacy? Secondly, why does a pharmacy keep machines that have expired solutions in them? Isn’t it unfair business to sell systems to consumers that have passed expiry dates in their solutions?

This whole experience changed my entire perspective of Rite Aid. I have been a regular Rite Aid customer and never had any issues like this in the past. I dealt with other pharmacists before there but none of them were like this. The pharmacist manager Jessica’s approach to deal with customers is disgraceful and she better learn the basic customer dealing techniques before sitting in that spot. Does Rite Aid really mean its mission statement: “Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome”?

“We are focused on and committed to the healthcare needs of our customers." I very much doubt it after this uncomfortable, embarrassing, degrading and morale lowering experience. If there is any damage, it is psychological more than anything.

I went to pick up my daughter's medication, but I was told that the insurance would not pay for it. I explained to Ms. ** and the cashier that I've had this problem before at this Rite Aid, and that the pharmacist would have to call the insurance to get an approval. In a very indignant way, Ms. ** asked me if I was a pharmacist, to which I replied no. She then said that she is and she knows the procedure, that I had to have the doctor call the insurance. I congratulated her for being a pharmacist and told her that she was rude and unprofessional. I explained to her that I've had this issue at this Rite Aid several times and other pharmacist have called to correct the problem.

I then called my husband, who spoke to the insurance company for the approval. My insurance company claims that the pharmacist is inputting the wrong codes. I am writing this because I was treated rudely and totally unprofessional by Ms. **. She did not even attempt to assist me in any way. Her only concern was that I was not a pharmacist and she was, therefore, (I guess) she thinks she knows it all.

I had a coupon for Rite Aid ** tablets that were listed on sale with a coupon in Sunday's paper. The price for 42 tablet was $19.95 minus $5.00 for coupon making it $14.95. I gave the cashier the box to scan and the price record was $22.95 minus $5.00 for a total of $17.95 plus sales tax came to $20.23. I grumbled and handed the cashier a $50 bill. I paid and after comparing what it would cost with what I paid, I decided it was not fair and asked for a refund. When they rescanned and gave me my change, I only received $19.74. I backed at that and told the cashier how come I was losing 49 cents in a transaction that had just taken place 5 minutes ago.

Eventually, after some slightly irritating discussion, I was given $19.74 back which was still 49 cents less than I had paid. The cashier was nice enough to realize the error and gave me 46 cents back, which was still 3 cents short but I thanked her and left highly ticked off. Your cash registers and computers are cheating people a little at a time. I do not plan on shopping at Rite Aid again. This happened about 4:00pm Sunday August 8th.

I mistakenly grabbed the wrong kind and on August 21, 2010, I went to the Rite Aid and the Goldengate Plaza to exchange it around 3 pm to 4:30 pm. When I gave it to the cashier, I told her that the package had gotten wet. She said “Okay, go look for what you want”. I said okay. As I was walking away, I heard her say ‘eeeww, what's on it?’ I turned and told her again that it got wet. As I got my makeup, one of the store employees came up to me and said that they cannot exchange. I asked why. She said that the package is damaged and the second employee walked up and said that I can't exchange it. I said, “Why not? I have my receipt”. They both said no and handed my stuff back.

I looked at them and said for real, “What about your company policy?” They both said, “No. we can't.” And then, one of the employees said as I was walking away, “Take it back to where you bought it at.” And I said, “I bought it at Rite Aid." She said “No, the Rite Aid store you bought it at.” And I said, “That's all the way on the Eastside and I am here now”. They were very rude. So I had to drive all the way to the south end to the Rite Aid at Broadway. I told the employee that they are the same thing and I was able to exchange it there. I was very upset that they treated me that way and in front of my two children.

I have been taking prescribed narcotic pain killers for about three months due to a vehicle accident. I was on one that was very strong and had no problems at all filling the prescription. I have been switched to a lower dosage and the past two times I attempted to have it filled Rite Aid made it very difficult. The first time they told me my insurance wouldn't cover it. At 5pm, I left and returned at 6pm the same day and magically my insurance covered it. The next week (as my scripts are only written for 5 days) I had my doctor call it into Rite Aid Pharmacy. I asked my brother-in-law to pick it up for me the pharmacist on that day and they said I needed to come back the following day for it as it was a day early for my insurance to pay for it.

So the next day on July 14, my mother went into the pharmacy to pick it up as directed to do by the pharmacist the previous day and they said it could not be filled until the 17th of the month, the whole time blaming it on my insurance company then proceeded to tell my mother (the pharmacist) that I was abusing my prescription by taking more than directed. I have never taken more than directed. Rite Aid puts the stickers on the pill bottle and it has read for three months take 1 to 2 pills every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. I take two every 4 hours. Never had a problem before. The pharmacist was rude to my mother, insulted me in front of customers and wouldn't explain anything to her so we could better understand the problem.

So I then went in and asked what the problem was. The pharmacy tech was rude and called for the pharmacist. He came around the glass window and proceeded to tell me I abused my prescription and I'm over dosing myself then told me it was an insurance problem then told me my doctor wrote the script wrong. Then when I kept asking why I couldn't just pay cash being, that I was out of my prescription, he then said, "No, we don't accept cash." (mind you I had paid cash twice before). He then told me he just wasn't filling it because I was a drug addict! Right in front of three customers. He then just walked away as if I didn't exist.

So I went home without my prescription, called my insurance company and they had already released the payment for the medication. I had already called and complained to the manager of Rite Aid who could do nothing. So I called the pharmacy back being that I live 30 minutes away. I spoke with the night manager who went to the pharmacy to ask if I could have my prescription and while I was on the phone the pharmacist said, "No, too early. The ins won't pay for it and she's a drug addict and irritating me. She abused her medication. I'm not giving it to her." Mind you it was paid for! So I had to go 36 hours without my prescription in pain and feeling horrible because my body had adjusted to having that small amount of narcotic in it because the pharmacist wanted to be difficult.

I returned the next day to have all my stuff transferred to a different pharmacy and when I asked for it they came to the window with my medication all filled. The date on the bottle was July 14th, the day I was in the pharmacy attempting to pick it up when the pharmacist insisted my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Convenient! Needless to say the district manager was suppose to call me back today when he returned from vacation however I have not heard from him as of yet.

After a few hours, I called to get the status on the medication (** inhaler) and was told it was ready for pick up. The medication was picked up and after taking the first puff, I noticed that there was another label under mine, so I peeled it off. To my great surprise, the medicine was previously issued to someone else almost three (3) weeks earlier (date filled - 06/03/2010 use by 05/28/2010) and I was given (date filled-06/18/2010 use by 06/18/2011). Basically this person was given about 11 months to use the medication, while I was given a year! I was rather curious about this discrepancy so I contacted the pharmacy.

I spoke to the pharmacist who was very rude and indicated that she was not doing anything illegal as pharmacies do this sort of thing all the time! I simply asked if they were aware of the double label on my medication! The other person's information (name, address, tel #) was visible along with their doctor's info. Someone took an ink pen and tried to conceal the info but it failed. Not once did the pharmacist apologize or acknowledge responsibility for what appeared to me to be a fraudulent act. Instead, she tried to make me feel that I was wrong to bring it to her attention. My single question made her very defensive and hostile. It appeared to me that maybe her pharmacy had something to hide!

I am really concerned about this Rite Aid Pharmacy as my autistic son's asthma medication is filled here and lately the medications seem to be flat! I thought it was his machine but now I'm not so sure! Recently he was hospitalized with pneumonia and a chest infection. I fear that expired or almost expired medications may have resulted in him getting pneumonia. He is on a medical steroid to help clear his lungs daily and he still got pneumonia. Something just does not add up.

Lisa was sneezing, coughing and generally just sharing her flu virus germs with me and everyone else who she came in contact with. I asked her why she was even working. She just shrugged. I used hand sanitizer liberally after touching the bag, change, merchandise and receipt that Lisa had just sneezed and coughed all over before handing it to me. However, hand sanitizer doesn't prevent the free-floating germs from spreading and being ingested when it's done three feet away from away from you. I had gone to RiteAid to purchase an OTC pain reliever for my leg.

Due to my leg pain, my contact with anyone else was less than limited since I was preparing to be well for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. I began feeling flu-like symptoms about 48 hours after shopping at this RiteAid, with full-blown flu symptoms hitting me like a ton of bricks the next morning. I called and asked to speak to a manager that morning. No one has called me back and I have since lost my voice from the severity of this flu. How is it that a pharmacy, of all places, allows their employees to work with the public while being so sick, especially in light of all of the flu virus warnings and precautions? There's a new CVS that's opening soon, right across the street from this RiteAid. I hadn't planned to shop there but will be now and will be bringing all of my colleagues and friends with me. I will not shop at any RiteAid store anytime, anywhere.

I had my two infants with me, I picked up a few other store items and waited in line at the pharmacy in order to purchase everything at once. When it was finally my turn, the Pharmacy Assistant, Lew, took my ** out of the Pharmacy bag in order to scan in the price. I noticed my ** on the counter. He then proceeded to ask if I would like my things double bagged. I think I said that it was not necessary. Meanwhile, I had an older customer hanging around the counter (not uncommon at this Rite Aid, most of the clients seem to be older). Lew handed me a bag and I left the area promptly (I did not like someone so close to my newborn) and put the bag into my stroller basket.

When I got home a while later, I had ran some other errands, I took my children out of the stroller and then the Rite Aid bag. The pharmacy bag was flat and empty. Lew answered; I explained to him that I had been in about a 1/2 hour earlier and could he please check to see if there was a medicine bottle left at the register or if it had fallen behind it. He said sure (he did not ask who I was, or what it was). He came back a second later and said that nothing was there. I then had to ask if he would like to know who I was, and what it was. He said sure; I told him that I was concerned that all of my personal information was on that bottle. He responded by saying he understood. I then asked if they would like to take down my cell phone number in case they came across my prescription, he did so. I then phoned the store to talk to the store manager, Bill. Lew answered again.

I told him that I would like to speak with the store manager, to let him know what happened and to let his staff know, just in case someone else had found it in their pharmacy bag. I held on the line for over 7 minutes. I hung up and called again. Of course, Lew answered. This time, Bill answered very unenthusiastically. I told him why I was calling. He said okay. I then had to ask him if he would like my name and number, just in case anything appeared?!

The next day, I went in with my mother and children. I approached the Pharmacy and they barely looked at me. I asked if they had found my prescription. They said no. I asked if they could replace it. They said, "Well, even if your doctor calls it back in, your insurance won't pay for it again so soon." Really, no kidding! I said, "I have always been a good customer. I did not come in here blaming anyone." As soon as those words came out of my mouth, Lew turned bright red and got snippy, "As we have been to you!"

At that point my mother asked to contact a supervisor. They said they would do it and give them my info. My mother said, "You don't have a number?" They said, "No, we will pass on your info and someone will call you." My mother then asked if the number was a secret, and the Pharmacist said, "1-800-Rite-Aid (they were yelling over us and getting hyper the entire time, I managed to hold my composure)." I asked if we could review the security tapes, since they had a camera right behind them. They told me to go up front to do it. I did so, the security guard didn't understand why they couldn't do it back there, but proceeded to review the tape. She said that she could see my prescription bottle on top of the flattened pharmacy bag and then see Lew bagging things for me. She saw him pick up the prescription and not place it into the paper pharmacy bag. She said, "You can't tell whether the medicine ever made it into the bag," that he handed to me, because his back was blocking this view.

The next day, the store manager, Bill, left me a message, saying that nothing had turned up and sorry for this. Too little too late. All they had to do was show an ounce of concern, not only for me and my privacy, but also for the elderly people who go there. It could have ended up in one of their bags. They could have phoned the few people who received prescriptions after me, but alas nothing. They couldn't care less about me. The attitude was, "Too bad, you paid and now it is your problem, not ours." It is really unbelievable, I guess Rite Aid does not care at all about losing their customers. I have gone there for at least 12 years, so has my husband, and now I have two children. Our business is going elsewhere. I have had other incidents with them (like the time they didn't put enough medicine in for my son, and got defensive saying they always put in extra).

They have never once offered to counsel me on the medication; they just have you click the box saying either that you have been counseled or you refused to be. I always had to ask, and always read all of the pamphlet info. The pharmacist has been snippy before. They must be very miserable there. This is the only excuse I have for their behavior. I did look to report this further, but I could not find a number. I did email customer service at Rite Aid (the night that I went to the pharmacy and they were extremely rude, in fact I was so aggravated I typed with one hand, b/c I had my baby in my arms, and made terrible typos) and have never had a response. I am extremely irritated and extremely busy. I was going to phone the customer service today, but came across this website and thought it might be more satisfying!

On Saturday, May 8th my two daughters and I went into Rite Aid at about 8:30 p.m. As I went to the cash register to check out, Vickie, the cashier, stated that she wasn't able to take my coupon. I then stated that has never happened to me because I know the coupon policy and I have been an avid coupon user for over a year. She then stated "I have to do what the computer tells me to do." I then let her know that I thoroughly understand but I have never had this happen to me. There was a line of about 5 men behind me so Vickie then calls the manager Bea and asks her to come up for help. Bea immediately states that I am doing something wrong and I can't use my coupon. I also let her know that I have never had this happen before.

She then states "Let me get all of these other customers out of the way. I don't want nobody filing no complaint on me. If I would've known you were going to take this long, I would’ve kept that register open.“ She didn't even take the time to see what was going. She just assumed I was wrong. So, I calmly walked to the back of the line of about 5 people with my two daughters. Once I got up to the register, a few other people were behind me and she told the other customers to get in front of me before she handled me.

Once I am finally at the register, Vickie and Bea argue about who is going to handle me because they don't feel like messing with me. So then the manager Bea checks me out and the computer accepted my coupons and Vickie, the first cashier who checked me out did the coupons wrong. There was no apology. I kept apologizing and explaining that I did nothing wrong. Not to mention, I was humiliated and will never go back to that store ever again.

Why are all the posts complaining about Rite Aid written by thieves, idiots or guests in our country? It seems like all the people posting here are the people that make working in pharmacy is bad. They don't speak English, and don't have the correct insurance card, they steal things and get mad when confronted by LP. It is just amazing that someone who is a native English speaker posts here and I have no clue what their problem is after reading their comment. Obviously, the people working in pharmacy are morons; we need to hire the Amazing Kreskin, because only someone with ESP could figure out how to resolve these complaints! Someday all the people working in the pharmacy will not speak any English, it will be like calling Dell customer service, the employees will not even understand your complaints, all the people that you enjoy harassing today will be working for your dentist (they will forget to give you Novocain) or they will go out on psych disability and retire early because you drove them crazy!

I have been shopping at this store since May 2009 and I don't think that the assistant supervisor should act in that manner and your company should investigate with a mystery shopper who is not of African descent to see how racist the all black employees are at this store (I'm Asian). Now when I go in, they always ring my prescriptions full price when I remind them of the pricing I am supposed to get. They told me that I had to remind them. Yesterday, the pharmacist said they would no longer price match and told me that Rite Aids will be charging $8.99 for their generic prescriptions. They made me wait 45 minutes while they changed the price and said they expected corporate to notify them any day of the new policy. I think they are pulling some kind of scam, getting customers to bring their prescriptions to them and then try to charge them full price.

I recently lost my third child at 11 weeks. I visited my doctor and received the news, which devastated me tremendously. My doctor prescribed me with a medication that I was unaware would not be covered by my medicaid. Rite Aid then made me aware that my medicaid would not cover the generic product that was prescribed. They offered to order the name brand product that my medicaid would cover, which would arrive two days later. I checked two days later, never arrived. I called the third day, and they said there was a shipping error, and it would arrive that day. I was advised to call after 4pm the same day to check on my order.

I called, and I spoke with a pharmacist that clearly had no idea what I was talking about, like I didn't just speak to a pharmacist 4 hours prior. At this point, I'm offended. She told me that they have my signature for the product that they were suppose to be ordering, claiming that I've already picked it up. Yes, they would have my signature, for the pain pills that was prescribed and the prenatal vitamins that I no longer needed. Not for the ** that they claimed they were ordering for me.

I waited a full week approximately for a order that clearly either was not placed, or for inaccurate records and workers that cannot do their job correctly. I spoke with my Gynecologist today and made him aware of the situation, and he was furious. I was suppose to be taking the ** all week long until I was able to get my dead child out of me (basically), and they never ordered my product.

I would like to take further action, but it could have been a mistake on a workers part. If anything changes regarding my health, I will completely sue Rite Aid. I have all the paperwork, prescriptions, documents, whatever I need to prove my case. No one wants to walk around with a dead baby inside of them, at all. They don't realize the severity of this situation and how I could get internally hurt or get some kind of infection from this. If they don't want to do their job, they need to give it to someone else that will, and will do it right. If you don't know the answer, don't make something up or erase someone's records. People's lives rely on medication, sadly. I will know in three days if anything changed health wise.

On about the 18 of March, my daughter and so drove me to the Rite Aid store to leave some new prescriptions a new pain management doctor gave me. My daughter was driving (35yrs old), my son in the back seat (45 yrs old) and I in the passenger seat (63). My daughter gave the scripts to the young girl inside the drive thru and ask her to tell me what the scrips were. She came back, told me and said, one would have to be ordered and it would take 5 days. I said fine, just keep them and I will be back to pick up the one sleeping med later today or tomorrow and the others when the ordered one came in, then we left.

After a week, I called to see if the meds were ready and the druggist informed me that there were no scripts there for me. The doctor had prescribed, **, some kind of patch for pain and something for pain in the nerve endings, as well as **. We picked up the ** and that was it. So when the druggist told me I had no scripts, I ask why. She called the young girl at home and the girl told her she had given the scripts back to us. I was told at that time, they had a copy of the patch med which was some kind of narcotic, I had never heard of.

I asked where the rest were and she kept saying "the girl gave them back". I asked her why she was saying that she gave them back, since we got nothing back and she said it was store policy to hand the scripts back until they got the order in. There was only one order, so where are the others? I have had 12 surgeries, three on my neck, which still gives me terrible pain and my back as well.

I requested they look at their security file and they said at that point, it had been too long and it would not be on the film? I decided to call FDA and they gave me the number of the Board of Pharmacists. I called them and they sent an investigator out to the store. The store is having security to pull the video, they claim they didn't have it anymore, but I have to stay in pain until that happens. I have totally been given a run around with Rite Aid with different stories each time I called. I also called the Pharmacy district manager to get him in on this problem. I told all of them, I will not stop until this problem is corrected and you see that the girl did not give anything back to any of us. Of course the doctor, whom I had only gone to once, will not refill the scripts, since the drug store was saying they gave the scripts back to me.

Last night, I had to be taken to the hospital for pain and was lucky enough to get a nice doctor, to whom I explained all the Rite Aid problem and she wrote me a few (12) pills script. Hopefully, the drug store will have straightened their mess up by the time they run out. I do feel it is my right to contact an attorney due to the pain and suffering I am having to endure from Rite Aids mistake? I intend on calling a lawyer the day after Easter. I have been in horrible pain since March 23, 2010. Rite Aid has not been in pain, nor the doctor, it was their mistake but I am the one suffering. PS. When I told the druggist "if the girl was supposed to hand me back the script that they had to order, why would she have handed me back the one they always add to the computer, even if I still have one refill on it" ? To that, I have no answer!

The prescription that my doctor fills out always allows me to get 2 vials as I take about 42 units a day of it. One day, when picking up my NPH Insulin, the Pharmacist tells me that she will only give me 1 vial since this should last me a month. First of all, my Dr. filled the prescription for 2 vials, and second, 1 vial will not last me a month. Even if my insurance does not cover it, which it does, she did not even explain why I am only allowed the 1 vial. To me this seemed like insurance fraud. I don't know, but it just didn't seem right.

My second complaint was on 1/30/10. I had picked up my prescription for ** 10-20MG for a 90-day supply. The pills are white, small and oblong shape. Just recently, when pouring the pills into my hand to take my medicine, I noticed a small, round blue pill. It had the #2101 on one side of the pill and a fancy "V" on the other. Needless to say, I was scared because I found a foreign pill in my bottle. By the way, the bottle is a Rite-Aid one, which meant it was filled out by the Pharmacist.

I had looked up the pill online and found out it's called ** which is used to treat depression. I am taking the time out to write this because I think this Rite Aid Pharmacy should be investigated. I don't want a mistake like this to happen again to someone and become a fatal mistake. I was very lucky. I have switched to a decent pharmacy now and will never shop at Rite Aid. I will be telling their headquarters about this as well.

They filled the wrong Rx. I went back to the store the next day and told them. The lady told me to just double up and she would fix it. So when it was time to refill my Rx, I called and the computer said no Rx listed for that. I took the bottles, the wrong one and the correct one, to the store and told them what happened. I told them that I should not have to pay another copay because I paid more than double the last time.

The lady told me too bad, it was my fault. I told her she is the one with the computer that should know what Rx is correct. This was not the first time Rite Aid has done something to me. While picking up my scripts, I asked to exchange the Total for a non-bismuth subsalicylate version of Maalox. I was approached by the manager, a middle aged, short, balding gentleman, who refused to exchange the product and actually chided me for trying to do so without a receipt.

He did this at the pharmacy in the presence of the pharmacists and other customers. This was during the week of 2.21.2010. This was clearly inappropriate, although I did not argue with the gentleman. As a doctor, I am aware that during a recall a receipt is unnecessary, although I would have brought it if I had it. I would like to exchange the product. I would also like an apology from the manager for inappropriate professional behavior, in public, since it was done in public.

I was shopping at the Rite Aide store number #5693 on January 11th. I was with my 3 children ages, 2, 7 and 9. I had all my items and went to the cashier. The cashier scanned all my items and she stopped. I asked her if there was a reason why she could not complete the transaction. She said the assistant manager named Sue, wanted to check me out. So we were standing there waiting for Sue to come out. We waited about 8 minutes for her to decide to come out.

So she started re-ringing some items and I told her I did not want them. The cashier was done ringing me up. Sue asked my why I did not want the items and I told her, "I just don't want them." She asked me again why I did not want the items. I said, "What does it matter? I just do not want them." She then started telling me that everybody in the store is afraid of me, they all hate me, they refuse to help me, I am evil and just a bad person. I defended myself and told her to do her job and scan my coupons. I also told her to read her coupon policy because I should not have to know it more than she does. She then tells me that she feels sorry for my children that I am their mother, in front of my 3 kids and other customers.

At this point, she had no right to attack me or my children. The only thing I complained about is their not knowing their own coupon policy. She notices my 9 year old daughter playing with my blackberry and she asks her if she is recording her. I tell Sue not to speak to my children. So Sue says, "I am calling the police because your daughter is recording me." So Sue called the police and the police came out. My children are naturally scared but I am disgusted by her poor judgment and lack of common sense with regards to customer service. She should not be around the public. The ironic thing is, my daughter did record some parts of this situation, she has on video Sue telling us she feels sorry for them because I am their mother.

I have called customer service numerous times about this situation. I have called the regional VP office and every time I am told somebody will get back to me. It has been a 3 weeks now and nobody has called me. It just seems to me this type of behavior that Sue has displayed is acceptable behavior for Rite Aid employees. It is not acceptable for me or my children to be treated this way. I am disgusted that Sue is able to talk to my children and me in this manner because I am an avid coupon user.

Donald, the other manager, at this Rite Aide location has told my husband that the managers at the Loma Linda, Redlands store and his store all call each other about me whenever I am shopping in their stores. Donald said that I commit coupon fraud and loss prevention is "onto me". So every time I shop at the Loma Linda store, the cashier will run to the copy machine and make a copy of my receipt before handing it to me. They will call the manager from the office and tell them "you know who is here" while I am standing right in front of them. They will also have a manager stand behind the cashiers while I am checking out. I am not invisible and I am not committing a crime by using coupons.

Just today in the Redlands store, the Store Manager stood behind the cashier and the cashier had no problem scanning my coupons. The Store Manager read the coupon after the cashier scanned it and the Store Manager tossed the coupon to me and she said, "You cannot use this; it says one per customer." The coupon did not say one per customer! I told her it does not say that. She then says, "Well, I do not to sell it you. You already bought 1. You have yours." I told her you still have a full shelf of them. She said, "I just do not want to sell it to you." I asked her, "Based on what? My race, my gender, why?" She said, "I need to help another person", and she said, "next". While I was in the store, I heard her tell the new employee that loss prevention is "watching me".

So now I am being harassed again because I use a coupon for every item I buy from Rite Aid. I use coupons for every restaurant I go to, for groceries, for movies, everything. It seems these managers and employees at these Rite Aide stores are discriminating against me because I use coupons. The Loma Linda store manager asked me, "If you are not doing anything wrong, why should it bother you?". I explained to him that I should be given the same customer service as the non-coupon shoppers are given. I should not be treated like a criminal because I am using coupons. If Rite Aid continues to let their managers treat coupon customers like criminals, a lot of couponers will take their business elsewhere.

While I was typing this up, the District Manager named Ron called. He was very defensive and said that I deserved to have had the police called on because I had called the managers a moron, stupid and dumb (I did not call her any names). He also said I tried to confuse the cashier by changing my mind and having her void off the vitamins and I brought this upon myself because I use coupons and visit different stores. He said by my using coupons, I tie up their lines and I am rude to all the employees.

Now the only reason I complain is if the managers and employees accuse me of coupon fraud or if they get mad because I have coupons. I have every right to defend myself when they accuse me of illegal activity. The District Manager Ron said there is nothing else to do. It is my fault and when I get off the phone, it is the end. He is done dealing with me and speaking to me.

It would be relevant to say that my family has been using this Pharmacy store for similar services for several years and all required information has been available to pharmacist. At the time of submitting my order, I had advised the clerk at the drop-off counter that the patient has new insurance coverage starting in 2010 and presented insurance card from the United Healthcare to make sure that there is no delay in receiving my order. Clerk has looked at my card and collected personal information such as the patient's date of birth and phone number writing on prescription receipt. I was also advised to come back in 60 minutes and pick up my order.

When I came back at around 7:40 pm to pickup my order, another clerk at pickup counter asked me for my insurance card and I presented the same card I had shown at 6:25 pm. The clerk has advised that this card is not covering prescriptions and may be only used for doctor visit and as result my order may not be given to me unless I pay in full. In reply to my question why this was not pointed to me at the time of order, it was implied that it is not part of their duties to clarify such issues and I must have prescription card. To the best of my knowledge, my family has medical insurance coverage, which includes prescription services as well and I called my insurance provider right away to obtain this information. I also notified my wife on the issue, since she is the primary insurance holder for current coverage our family has.

When I reached United Healthcare representative, I was advised that prescription service coverage is provided by a different company, CVS caremark and the pharmacist sure is able to assist me with finding my coverage information by calling that company. I also received a call from my wife who had reached CVS caremark helpline and they provided her with another phone number, that may be used by the pharmacist to obtain our coverage information.

When I released the above information to the pharmacists, I was told by a women pharmacist who appeared to be a head of the team that it is not their duties to call and verify coverage and unless I have a prescription card, I may not receive any services from them. Since clarifying the issue with prescription card was indefinitely delaying my child's treatment and it was very critical to give medicine to my son before bedtime which is 8 pm, I agreed to pay for medicine in full and pickup my order and deal with insurance information later on.

Then, I was told that my order was not prepared due to above situation and it may only be completed for the next day, since pharmacy's working hours are almost over and they have not enough time to complete my order. I was really stressed by the whole situation and the reluctance of the pharmacy store representatives to perform their duties, so I requested store manager's presence. Then, I was told by the women pharmacist who seems to be a team lead, that I may complain as long as I want but since I was a very demanding customer, this store will never perform any services to me at all. The argument that this medication is required by a certain time for a three year old boy was not taken to consideration.

Shortly a gentleman had shown up asking me what was happening. When I started describing the situation, he asked me to leave the store. Since I was denied services at this store and I had very doubtful opportunity to find an open pharmacy store in the neighborhood at that time, I chose to leave and address this situation later. It would be relevant to mention that when I was asking for the names of representatives and store manager, I was not given any of that information. I also did not see any name tags attached to any of the Rite Aids representatives clothes.

I was able to get medication at a CVS store in our neighborhood, located at Queens blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375, that is open till 11 pm. CVS representative had listened to my situation with the coverage and the fact that I did not have prescription card in my hands did not prevent him from getting coverage information in 5 minutes and releasing all medication to me in 25 minutes from the time I placed it. It was at 9:14 pm.

What really concerns me in this situation how is it possible, that a pharmacist who is a necessary member of health care team and who also has legal duties of care to patients has knowingly delayed performing services and denied releasing care resources to a 3 years old patient? How is it possible that a patient, who is a United States born citizen with an existing medical insurance coverage, is not able to get services that ris equired for his healthy living due to professional misconduct of a pharmacist? Why did the pharmacist, who had my insurance card in her hands, not verify the information and not advise me that I needed another document at the time I submitted my order? Why did the pharmacist who had all my contact information never contact me and advise that I might be experiencing a delay in receiving medication by the time it was agreed? How may I be sure that after being a "demanding customer", I will be provided with quality medication at that store? I hope all these questions will not remain unanswered and this issue will be investigated and addressed. I also expect that some disciplinary actions and evaluation of professional skills of the representatives I was dealing with on 1/13/2010 will take place.

Also bought 2lit cola from the store which were flat (no fizz) I didn’t find out about those until the next day. I do not wish for an attorney to contact me it should be the store mgr to correct the problem. What is the old saying, "The customer is Always Right"? Remember I and others "PAY" your salary!

On 12-31-09, I went to Rite Aid to purchase some items. And when I went to purchase a deodorant, I noticed the deodorants are placed inside of a storage mechanism. The only way you are able to obtain one of the deodorants from this mechanism is to open it. Once you open it, it makes a loud ringing noise which can be heard throughout the entire store, alerting everyone that someone is in the deodorant aisle attempting to obtain the deodorant from the mechanism.

Anytime I went to look at other deodorants inside of this mechanism, the ringing sound would go off and store assigned security would come by as to see if I was doing something such as trying to shoplift. I was extremely embarrassed as some of the employees were laughing. Other customers would come by to see what the loud ringing sound was, and the security guard would keep coming around as to see if I was shoplifting. I wasn't able to purchase the daily living item I needed because of this extremely uncomfortable, embarrassing, degrading and morale-lowering experience. If there is any damage, it is psychological more than anything.

It seems that Rite-Aid sale tax does not conform to the regulations that LA County used to be sales tax was 8.25% now changed to 9.25% and Orange County used to be 7.75% and now 8.75%. I have noticed on several occassions that Rite-Aid sales tax is far beyond this mentioned %. I went yesterday 12/6/09 to buy some hair dye and I usually calculate the tax right before I approach the cashier, so I know exactly how much I am paying. My bill was $5.98 and they charged me a sales tax of .87 and the total came up to $6.85. If I apply the 8.75% for Orange county my sales tax should only be .52 with a total of $6.50. I asked the cashier#54993333 why is the tax high ans he said that he does not know since this was his first day of work. This is not the only time I have bought stuffs at Rite-Aid and every time I noticed that tax is high. For one thing on their receipt they do not print the sales tax they charge to customers. This is a form of consumer to defraud customers like me. I want Rite-aid to be investigated on their sales tax practices. They are getting away with murder. I also want to be compensated for the over sale taxes they charge me on few occasions not only this particular situations I cited as an example. If this does not stop I do not have any alternative but to file suit against Rite-Aid for misrepresentation of sale tax and consumer fraud.

    Good morning,
On Friday, 11/13/09 I rushed my 77 year old mother to Christiania Hospital ER. She had the hives so badly, they had entered her throat. After medicating and watching her for six hours, she was sent home with a prescription for Hydroxyzine 25 mg, and told to take otc Benadryl. They did give her enough medicine to last through the night because it was about 11:30 p.m. when she was discharged. The next day, I took her script to Rite Aid, Store #11179, 399 New London Rd, Newark DE 19711, they filled the script, rang up the Benadryl. I drove to my mom’s house and left the medication with her, as well as her meal for the day. Around 3:30 p.m. I received a call from my mother stating she choked on one of the pills, and went to get another one when she noticed the bottle said : Patricia Brock (patient), the medication was HYDROCODONE – APAP 7.2-750 Tab. At the time, I was in Wilmington DE grocery shopping. I was very upset, so I called the Rite Aid and spoke to the pharmacist, Yen. I told Yen what the problem was, she stated that she was concerned about my mom having the wrong medication, but Yen never once asked if my mom was okay, or if she had taken the medication. I then drove to Rite Aid to pick up the correct medication. Yen refused to give me the correct medication, but because I did not bring back the HYDROCODONE. (I have a heart condition and my rate was running high). I informed Yen that I was not going to run around a fix the mistake she made. I did tell her to feel free to drive to my mother’s house to pick up the medication herself. Yen called another lady in the store, and they agreed (after I started yelling) to give me the correct medication. When I arrived at my mother’s house and picked up the medication and went home, I found out via the internet that it was Oxycontin, and very strong narcotic....I went to A-Fib that evening, had an on-call physician walk me through what medicine to take. I cannot understand how this happens. My worst fear is that if my mom had choked on the large pill, she would be back in the hospital with god knows what type of reaction. I am writing to any and every agency to see what our rights are. Your response is so greatly needed.

If you dont know what that is, it is the result of taking prescribed pain medication for 5 years. To keep from going through withdrawl from this pain medication, I take suboxone intil the treatment is over..I get suboxone from my doctor in Harrisburg PA, because doctors charge a lot to treat it in Delaware. I refuse to go on Methadone..This is not something I am proud of, I trusted my doctors and should have known the dangers of pain medication. This medication helps me maintain a normal life. Anyway. I had been having some issues and decided to talk to my regular doctor in Delaware about it.I had not told my regular Doctor about suboxone because I did not want to be judged..Evidentally my doctor diagnosed me with having ADD and gave me a prescription for Aderal. Hoping this medication would work, I went into Rite Aid to fill the script and have never been so disrespected in my life. This pharmacist acted as if I was doing something sneaky. Im sure people do, but until 2 weeks ago, I had barely heard of this medication. She treated me like a drug addict because I let her know that I was on suboxone..This was not my normal Rite Aid as I was visiting my mother and had errands to run, it was convenient. The pharmacist let me know that ethically she would not fill the prescription, confused and very upset, I left. When I went to my pharmacist, also Rite Aid. I asked her if suboxone and Aderal interfere with each other, and then spoke to her about the pros and cons of this medication. She said "Absolutley not". I decided to try the medication. I took 1 tablet a day and it worked very well, I improved at work exc... I noticed whern I went back to my doctor I was being treated differently, sure enouph after speaking to my doctor, the pharmacist called her that day. This is everything I wanted to avoid. Shouldnt it be my right to decide what i take?? I could see if these two medications clashed, but they didnt and it is very clear to me that this woman ASSUMED that I am a drug addict, just after something. The next issue with them was my birth date. (Possibly the other Kathy's?) They had my birthdate as the 14th not the 17th. To avoid the hassle that came EVERY time I went there the pharmacist suggested that I just say that my birthdate WAS the 14th. Knowing this was not the proper way to handle it, I raised the issue on a later visit and ask them to change the record. The cashier or tech on that particular visit suggested I contact my insurance. I responded, "THEY have the RIGHT birth date--you need to change it in YOUR system. Finally, I witnessed the most unbelievable and irresponsible act yet. I went 20 to 10 minutes before the pharmacy closed to find that they had closed early and had wheeled the prescriptions to the front of the store where they were being dispensed by a cashier. I refilled a prescription for my cat and was supposed to receive 2 refills, on the bottle it said no refills left and lastly I get 5 prescriptions every month from 3 different doctors for different reasons and only 1 bottle has the correct prescribing doctor’s name on it. The only meds I take are for thyroid and birth control with the occasional antibiotic for my daughter and/or myself. This pharmacy and store in general are always slow, so when I go in I know that I will have to spend some time. It is a pain at times, but I go through it because it is close to my house. The pharmacy staff also are always rude; if not rude, then they are very unhappy. You get that since they are overworked and unhappy at their job.

Today, however, that rudeness was taken to a whole new level. I was made to feel like a criminal and was talked to in a way that is totally unacceptable. My thyroid medicine was changed and an additional thyroid medicine was added. I asked for the name brand of both, not the generic. That was the 1st issue. A nameless lady on the phone said, “We have always filled generic for you, why change?” I simply said, “I want the name brand.” The doctor had also written the prescription for 188 mcq of ** and it does not come this way, it only comes in 88, 100, 175 or 200. So they demanded on calling the doctor. “No problem,” I said, “do what you need to do.”

I called my doctor and he said he had spoken to them and that he didn't understand why they were making a big deal of this, but he did want to change my script to 175 to avoid any confusion and keep the ** at 2 5mg per day. I called Rite Aid to let them know I had talked to the doctor and the lady (who would not give me her name) was very hateful, saying we have to talk to the doctor who had already called but no one took the call. It was a huge mess and bottom line is that I was yelled at and hung up on after 2 calls and 1 visit to this store. The woman was argumentative and refused to listen. She kept saying that my doctor had called in a prescription the day before. I'm like, “No, they didn't. I saw my doctor today.”

What a mess. When I went back to the store for the 2nd time to pick up my meds after 5 hours, it still was not ready for me. I asked to fill out a formal complaint and was again attacked by this pharmacy staff. The one lady literally yelled at me from across the pharmacy in front of the pharmacist who has done nothing. The manager was totally unhelpful, too. Unbelievable treatment. Crazy-making stuff. Stores no longer care about the people they serve who keep them in business. Where is all the customer service gone? Needless to say, I will no longer ever go to a Rite Aid again. By the way, this store never told me the 1st name only of this crazy woman. She gave me a new person who was very nasty and abrupt. Taneil at ** never took a statement from me. I need to know what was on that band aid that caused such a reaction. I had to go into the hospital for a cauterization, had told them of the incident and the saw the scars under my arm.

The doctor agrees that I should find out what type of glue is used on a latex-free band aid that I could be so allergic to. This could be a life and death situation for me in an emergency. I have not gotten any help from anyone. Please intervene. This is a serious situation not just for me, but others who think that latex-free means no latex.

Each time I pick up my prescription she (Sandra) is rude to begin with and each time I give them at least 4 days since I have diabetes and take several medicines, they are never all there. I understand if a doctor must be called but when it is out of stock and I have waited 4 days at the least, someone should call us! Then I went to pick up and asked 3 times if it's all there? Sandra said yes 3 times. I get home and find 2 missing, one doctor call and 1 ordered. I live in Mexico part time and this is very inconvenient! I have thought about changing stores but this is the closest one and I have been getting my medicine there for years. However, unless service improves, I will change. I wasted trips after giving prescription 4 days to fill.

They have been calling our home and saying we should call them asap from the number this message was received on. This is not RiteAid! So this leads me to believe that RiteAid either sold them or gave them my private information!

When I tired to contact someone about this, I hit a brick wall. I'm nothing scared anymore. When does our privacy count? I am deeply disappointed over this. What, if anything, can be done over this?

On May 20, 2009 I filled a prescription for my son who is 2 years old and weighs 24 lbs. The prescription was for Augmentin ES600, I received the generic Amox TR-K CLV 600-42.9/5 susp. The label indicated that I should administer 6ML teaspoonful by mouth twice a day for 10 days. On the sixth day I noticed I was running out of the medicine so I called the pharmacy and spoke to pharmacist Kathleen Valante. She informed me that I was only supposed to be giving my son 3ML twice a day for 10 days. I immediately asked the pharmacist to investigate how this error could have been made and asked her to provide me with any information regarding a possible overdose. I also contacted my son's pediatrician and discussed my concerns. I was asked if my son had experienced any diarrhea, vomiting or if his behavior was different that usual. Fortunately my son did not display any of the above symptoms. However, I am still very concerned of what could have happened and if there are any possibilities of future problems related to this overdose. The pharmacist explained that studies showed possible complications related to his kidneys and that I should discuss this with his pediatrician. I plan to follow up with his pediatrician and hope that there are no long term effects. I have been getting my son's prescriptions filled at this pharmacy since he was born. I can not imagine what could have happened had this medication been another type or if this error could have been deadly. I trusted my son's health to a professional and feel that someone at Rite Aid was not doing their job correctly. I realize that human error exist however when you are dealing with someone's life there should be numerous precautions and check points to prevent something like this from happening. Needless to say I will no longer have my son's and my family's prescriptions filled with Rite Aid. This experience was very scary and traumatic for our family. This is our first and only child and to think that something could have happened to him because someone was negligent. I just hope that this does not happen to other families and I am thankful that so far my son seems fine; however I do plan to continue to monitor him and follow up with his pediatrician.

I walked up to the pharmacy, told the lady behind the counter my name and that I had a prescription transferred there. Without even picking her elbows up off the counter she told me my card expired. I asked her what she meant because I double checked with Rite Aid in South Lake before I left town and the lady there said everything was okay. She told me I couldn't pick up the prescription or had to pay for it in full. She made absolutely NO effort to move, check it through the computer or anything. Today, 05.11.09 I called the Rite Aid back in Mammoth asking to speak to the Pharmacy Manager. After waiting on hold for a second, a guy picked up the phone "Hello" ... No "Hello, this is the manager" or "Hello my name is ____" or anything. Just "hello"... I asked him if he had a name. He said "John" This guy also made NO effort to be friendly or helpful right from the start. I proceeded to explain my situation and he told me he tried to bill it before I arrived and it came back and they wouldn't pay it. When I checked with the program I get my prescription through, they said there shouldn't have been any problems just like the lady who I talked to at Rite-Aid in South Lake Tahoe told me when I transfered it as well as today (She checked it again in the computer) to see if I could pick the prescription back up. No apology, sympathy, or any effort was made from (Was this guy even really a manager???) "John the Manager." I am VERY unhappy with my experience at the Rite-Aid in Mammoth Lakes and will not be returning to the store.

My husband and I both use rite-aid because we travel a lot, and it's in so many places. Our local Wilmington Pike Rite-Aid has pretty good customer service (a nice older lady, and a not-so-nice, grumpy old man). recently we were traveling to Detroit for a few days, then into Canada, and in Detroit I realized I had forgotten ALL my medication. there are three things I take daily for my fibromyalgia, and neuropathy, and there are several others I sometimes need. I went to sleep without them, woke up without them, and then we stopped at a Detroit Rite-Aid, on Van Dyke because I knew I HAD to get them before I went on into Canada, by this time I was already in a lot of pain, to the point that I was having trouble walking, talking and the pain was making me nauseous and grouchy.
First none of the four people acknowledged me as I waited at the drop-off counter. I stood there for five minutes, and not until I started complaining to my husband in Spanish, did one lady turn around. First she told me there was nothing she could do. Then after me telling her this is why we use Rite-Aids, she took my name. I had to spell it for her and then got frustrated and just pulled out my driver's lisence. Another woman said, why don't you just look at her insurance card. She was very rude, and was not happy about me not wanting to come back for my prescription. I left the store to sit in the car because I was in so much pain. My husband waited for the prescriptions, then brought them out to me. First, she charged us $90 for a 3-day supply of pills when I only pay $70 for a full month's worth of pills. I know that my husband has been without his medication in strange cities many times and this has never happened to him. The pharmacist said that our insurance would not cover it and that we had to pay full price. Could 9 50mg lyrica, 3 100mg amitryptiline, and 3 20 mg cymbalta really cost $90???? Then, on top of that as we are crossing into Canada and I'm opening the bag 2 of the 3 prescriptions are completely the wrong pill! 2 out of 3! A teenager working at a fast food joint could have done better. How do 4 people at a pharmacy not realize that they are handing out the wrong pills. The amitryptiline looked familiar because it was a lower dose I used to take. The cymbalta was completely wrong--instead of a green-Lilly-3235 pill they gave me a blue and white-Lilly -3240 which is a higher dose than what I take. I had no idea what it was at the time, and would not take it. I also would not take the wrong amitryptiline because at the time with no internet access, I was not sure what it was at all.

There was no damage done with this error because my son had been instructed by the doctor to take two twice a day, but it scares me to think how easily this mistake could have been made on a more critical prescription which could have led to health issues. Pharmacists are supposed to double check all prescriptions filled on their watch, so not only did the tech fill it incorrectly, but the pharmacist failed to check it.

This past year has been hell. I have four degenerating discs in my neck. It's very painful. After countless drugs, my doctor and I found a pill that works for my pain and does not make me a zombie. Great, right? Wrong. My pill, **, is rare according to Rite Aid. Because I am only thirty three, most of the pharmacists look at me as though I am a drug-seeking individual, instead of someone with a serious medical condition. I tell the pharmacist every month, "Hey, I will need this same prescription next month." It goes in one ear and out the other. Some months, I am told, "We don't have enough to fill your prescription." I ask, "Is there any way you could give me an emergency amount until you can fill it?" I am told that I could try another Rite Aid. That would not be so bad if I had a car. I thought Rite Aid was supposed to take care of its customers?

Last month, I went to the store around the corner from me (9910 Frankford Ave.) and was told, "No, we don't have your pills, but wait, didn't you get your pills at Academy Plaza last month (I begged a friend for a ride; I would not have made it by closing time otherwise)? Why don't you go there?" Rite Aid bought all the mom and pop drugstores, all the places that cared about customers. Now all that's left is Rite Aid. They don't care about the people because they know if you need medicine, you have to come to them. I hope this complaint is seen by the right person because the Rite Aid at 9910 Frankford Ave. needs a lesson in customer service and I am sure I am not the only person that feels that way.

Then they have to call Walmart to verify their price and then change the price. This means you wait while all this takes place. I've recently been experiencing some anxiety from bipolar II disorder, so I had my doctor write me some prescriptions. Temazepam 15mg 30 day supply, and Paroxetine 10mg 30 day supply. Since I don't have insurance, I called around for some no-insurance quotes. Rite Aid's discount card had the best prices with $8.99 for the Paroxetine and $15.99 for the Temazepam. I decided to have my prescriptions filled 2 days after receiving these quotes. I have a Caremark discount card on file along with a Rite Aid discount card according to my old Rite Aid in Truckee, CA (11230 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee - (530) 587-5296). The Auburn, CA Rite Aid told me that I had Caremark insurance and that I didn't qualify for the Rite Aid discount card. I was very disappointed with this and walked out the door having to pay $51.58 rather than $8.99 for the Paroxetine. After going back home and doing some research I decided to call them and question the price. I asked the pharmacy why I was quoted $8.99 over the phone and actually charged $51.58. She told me that that was what my insurance charged. I told her that I do not have insurance. I told her that I have a Caremark discount card through a local program in Truckee, CA. She said that I have insurance and that Rite Aid doesn't offer programs like that. I told her again that I don't have insurance, just a Truckee local discount card through Caremark. She told me that Rite Aid doesn't provide insurance for customers, and she couldn't understand why I couldn't understand that. At this point I was extremely frustrated at telling her that I don't have insurance, which I don't, and told her she needed to call my Truckee Rite Aid to straighten this out. She refused, and I hung up. I then called Truckee to see if indeed it was a discount card and not insurance. They confirmed this. I then called the Rite Aid 1-800-RiteAid number to see if I could use more than 1 discount card at a time, and they said yes I can. I called the Auburn, CA RiteAid back and told them that I don't have insurance, that I have a Caremark discount card, that I'm entitled to a Rite Aid discount card, and that they need to call my Truckee, CA Rite Aid. The pharmacy said again that they couldn't understand what I was talking about and insisted that I had insurance and wasn't eligible for an additional card. She then told me that people were waiting in line for their scripts and I was causing them problems. This was obviously to make me feel guilty. I asked again if they would just call the Truckee, CA Rite Aid, and she said in a very rude way, maybe when I have time. I also told her that when they get it straightened out to please put my Paroxetine on the Rite Aid plan. She responded by asking me, are you serious? I called my Truckee, CA Rite Aid again and explained my frustrations with the Auburn, CA Rite Aid. Knowing me for years in Truckee, they couldn't believe the treatment I was receiving and were embarrassed to be part of Rite Aid. They said that I've been one of the nicest customers over the years and would do whatever they could to help. There also seems to be a little problem with Rite Aid's computers, but in no way does this excuse the treatment that I received in Auburn, CA. I was basically called a liar, they now are refusing to serve me, and I believe this to be mental discrimination too.

He said this very loud so everyone in the back of the store and all the employee's could hear him. He said I don't know and walked off to use the telephone. I walked out of the store. I came back ten minutes later and asked if he had gotten it straight and he said yes, he did not apologize at all. I saw the badge he was wearing it said John, I can't remember the last name but come to find out he is the manager. I again asked him how long it was going to be and he said About ten minutes have a seat! just like that. When they called my name I asked to see the medication first due to the fact that they have given me the wrong medication, the wrong amount, and the wrong strength before. I noticed the amount looked shy so I opened them up and counted them. They were short 30 tablets. John came over and in a rude voice said What is the problem now M'am? I told him there was a mistake. He grabbed the bottle out of my hands, slammed it in a basket and called me a junkie to a tech next to him in a low voice, he thought I did not hear him! He told me to sit down and it would be another ten minutes. I waited again. I was used to it due to the fact it's usually two or three hours in this place cause they are so slow and disorganized. They called my name back up again. When I went to pay it came to over $100. They had not processed it through my insurance. John came over again and asked What my problem was? and the cashier told him. He again grabbed the medicine and gave it to the technician to fix the price and asked me if I had my new insurance card. I told him I had my old one, I had not received a new one. He said There is no way that it would not process unless you have a new card so look in your wallet for your new card. I threw my card at him and he said You people and your pain medicines, your always causing problems! I was totally beside myself and went to sit down again. I am handicapped, 72 years old with a walker, so this was uncomfortable for me. They called me up again and the cashier said they fixed the problem. John looked at me and said Are you all set now lady? and I said Yes. I did not know what to say, I could not believe how rude he was to me. None of this was my fault. I only go to Rite Aid because I can walk there but because of this treatment I actually take a taxi to a pharmacy across town now and have never been treated so nicely (CVS). I would not reccomend this pharmacy to anyone. Thank you.

She gave me a white tablet and I told her that this was not the right medicine. She said it was from another company. I insisted on getting the yellow tablet, because I was familiar with it. The medication does and did not work. I took three tablets within five hours and I got no relief from my pain. I reported this the following day 12/18/08 and was told that I could get the yellow tablet that I had originally requested. This is not the first time that this pharmacy has given me suspect medication. My perscription also called for my blood pressure medication to be increased from once a day to twice a day and this same pharmacist said that I had just had a refill on November 29 and that I was not due unitl 12/22/08. I explained to her, at no length, that the time of dosing had changed from once to twice daily and that I needed my blood pressure medicine. She did not call the doctor or notify me. I feel that this person must be an advocate for me and knowning that the time of dosing had changed, it was her obligation to notify the doctor to get insurance approval. I am now out of my blood pressure medicne and must wait until 12/22/08.Their whole staff has a negative approach to clients. For staff to have this type of attitude, it is representative of management. I have feed up with Rite Aid pharmacy at this address. While an employee of Rite-Aid Pharmacy whose first name only was disclosed upon request (Bahlwinder), called the hospital to verify the prescription, Ms. Reinhardt rifled frantically through documents and drawers in her work area. The hospital stated that according to record I had not received a prescription for Vicodin and that I would have to return by bus, some two cities away to repeat the process of obtaining the prescription. When I handed my prescription to Stephanie it was attached to a prescription for Prednisone and Percoset, neither of which were lost. When I stated that I would file a complaint and needed the license number of the Bay Point Rite Aid pharmacy, my prescription miraculously appeared.

I am complaining about being assaulted and forcibly detained by Rite Aid Loss prevention. The incident occurred over me having opened a package to try out a product (clear silicone earplugs). I determined that the product was not suitable to my needs so I put it back on the shelf. I went to purchase something else (retractable pencils). Just as I was about to buy the retractable pencils, someone came up from behind me and placed the package of earplugs that I had opened into the bag along with the retractable pencils that I was purchase and demanded that I buy the earplugs. I informed the man that I was not interested in the product because it does no meet my needs. But he insisted and surrounded me with two more people including a security guard. They proceeded to demand that I buy the earplugs or else sign some papers with a fine attached. I refused and argued with them in a respectful manner. Then they proceeded to violently and forcibly drag me into a back room whereby they reaffirmed their demands. Eventually I agreed to buy the product that I was not interested in buying just to avoid further trouble. Then they released me after I purchased the item in question under duress. Only then did they relent and left me alone. It is appalling that a huge corporation as wealthy and powerful as Rite Aid would use such violent and atrocious methods against poor people in order to obtain a small amount of money.

I am prescribed 2 different medicines from my family physician. One is to help me sleep, and calm my nerves, and the other is for my headaches. I have been taking these two medications for over 2 yrs. 3 months ago I had a major surgery on my shoulder, so I was prescribed 2 medications for pain, and 1 is a muscle relaxer. These were prescribed by the specialists that performed my surgery. I have always used the rite-aide to fill my presciptions, along with Marc's, and or CVS. Recently Rite-aide has a new Pharmacist working there, and this is when the problems came. His name is Dave. I will get his last name, because I am not going to stop here, something has to be done, because now he has caused me physical pain. This Pharmacist has taken things too far, and it is totally obvious this is something against me. The first problem was, he started refusing to refill my prescriptions, speaking to me in a very nasty, disrespectful tone. He started telling me that even if my insurance is covering the medication on the date, he is not going to fill it because I should have some left. I can respect, and appreciate his concern, but I believe it is wrong for him to make that decision, due to the fact that my doctor had told me verbally to increase my dosage at this particular time, and my doctor had not noted it on the label as of yet. So it seemed like I ran out faster, which I did, but my doctor told me to increase, and my insurance was covering the medication for that time period, so it should not have been refused to be refilled by that physician. He is not my doctor, and he does not control that. Correct?!! Well this continued to occur several times, until my doctor did update that label. Then since my surgery, I was getting all my prescriptions filled at rite-aide, for it was convienient for me. Dave started decideing that I was getting too many pain medications, and started refusing to fill my prescriptions! I need to understand what gives him the right to do that! I have to see 2 different doctors, and one is my surgery specialist, I also have a therapist, and now I am being referred to pain management. I trust my doctors decisions, and the medications that they prescribe for me, according to my illnesses. Dave is not my doctor! Now today, I had a migraine, which I had a bad headache all weekend, because I ran out of my headache medicine, so I called my doctor this morning, I had to wait until after he was done seeing his patients, then the doctor calls in his patients updated prescriptions. My doctors office told me that my prescription would be called in after 6pm today. I waited until after 6pm. called the Rite-aide to make sure it was ready, and I was put on hold, then this Dave came to the phone line, and told me that yes my doctor called it in. But that he had called my doctor back, and told him that I am receiving other pain medications from other doctors, and that he would not fill the prescription! I got totally upset, and I told Dave, first of all, that medicine was not for pain, it was for my headaches, and that I have been on that for over 2 yrs., he does not have the right to take it upon himself to diagnose me, or my illnesses! If he was such a great Pharmacist, then he would know his medicines, and see that that was not a pain med., as my other meds. Then he told me that it does'nt matter, there is nothing he was going to do with that, and that he was not going to fill my prescription! Now my head is hurting even worst, feels like it is going to explode! Somebody please help me, this is harrasment, as well as discrimination, and god knows what else! I would definitely like to discuss this matter more in detail, and also seek some legal help, because I know this is wrong!

Stopped into this Pharmacy on August 3rd a little before 10am to pick up 3 prescriptions for my husband that were called in on August 1st. My 89 year old mother and 87 year old father were waiting in the car. My husband and I were the only customers at the pharmacy counter. I told the pharmacist I was there to pick up prescriptions for my husband. He said he had a couple for me. I told him there should be 3. He checked the computer and said it was too early for one to be refilled. When my husband told him it couldn't be since all 3 scripts are refilled at the same time.

Then the Pharmacist said they did not have the med we needed in the store and that it would be available 11am the next day. We told him that wouldn't work since my husband had to leave for the airport at 8am. He said he could call another pharmacy to see if we could get the script there. When he rang up the 2 meds he had, the total came to over $300. I told him the price wasn't right since we only pay $30 for a 30 day supply. He said it had been run through my insurance. I asked him if he wanted to see the card. He took the insurance card from my husband and went back to the computer. I couldn't see what he was doing. Another woman at the opposite end of the counter asked the pharmacist a question.

After he answered, we'd been in the store about 15-20 minutes now, I asked him how many pills were in the bottles. He said there were 90 and he was changing the number of pills to 30. I told him 90 was fine and that we just want them at the correct price. He had apparently been pouring 60 pills out of each bottle and relabeling them. After about 5 more minutes, a female employee came by and asked if I needed any help. I told her it would be helpful if she could call the other pharmacy to see if the third drug was available because we had an appointment we needed to get to.

At that point the Pharmacist, Dennis Tito, turned around and said,"You don't have to be bitchy about it!" I said, "Excuse me?" He then went on about how he was going as fast as he could. I reminded him that the scripts had been called in 2 days ago. He said it was his first day back and that he hadn't been there the past 2 days. I asked if anyone else had been working there the past 2 days. He then complained about how it was the third time he was filling the prescription. I told him that if it had been done right the first time, he wouldn't have had that problem. I then turned to my husband and said I was glad they were opening a CVS down the street soon. Pharmacist Manager Dennis Tito replied, "Me too!"

The mission statement for Rite Aid states, "Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome." I don't think so! I have never been treated with such disrespect, rudeness, and lack of professionalism in my life. As I was leaving he asked if there was anything else he could do for me and told me to have a nice day. My husband and I then spoke with the store manager who gave us this mans name but she could do nothing since Dennis T. is the Manager over the Pharmacy.

Last Friday my wife went in to RiteAid, which recently purchased CVS to pick up three prescriptions for me. I am chronically ill, and frequently physically unable to go to the pharmacy myself. When she arrived to pick up prescriptions for **, she noticed that the ** had only been partially filled, and asked why. She was told it was a mistake and they would fix it right away. She was given three bottles of medication and came home. Since there were three bottles, the expected number, it never occurred to me to double check the labels.

Well, on Sunday it was time to take my **, and guess what? It wasn't there. They hadn't filled the prescription, nor had they mentioned a word about it. Instead they had the bottle with the partial script of **, and a second bottle with the rest of it, along with the **. Of course it was a Sunday, which meant that my options were to go to the emergency room, or go without my medication. I chose to forgo the medication and just suffer until I could get it refilled. This drug is prescribed to me as both a sleep aid (without it I will routinely go 24-48 hours without sleep) and for seizure control, so it's definitely a non-trivial matter.

When I called Monday morning, after 28 hours without sleep and after suffering several small seizures, I was told: It was put on hold. When I asked what that meant, and by whom it was placed on hold, the tech did not know and guessed it might be the insurance company or something else, but didn't give me any answer. I went in that day to get the prescription filled. All of a sudden the hold had magically and conveniently disappeared! It's not that they made a mistake, they didn't make a mistake at all. They knowingly and purposefully didn't fill the script and more to the point, failed to notify us of the fact. As I said, this medication is far from trivial. Had it been a holiday weekend, a visit to the emergency room would have been required.

When I complained, I received no satisfactory answers at all. There was some mumbled excuse about insurance companies, and policy. I explained at this point, rather loudly to the licensed pharmacist, that the insurance company was not a medical doctor. In fact, we would have paid cash for the script if necessary and sorted it out with the insurance company later. But we weren't given the information to even make a decision, take the prescription to another pharmacy, call the doctor, or make any other arrangements. Needless to say, we will never do business with RiteAid again. The carelessness of this company, the poor supervision and the lack of quality controls put all of its customers health at risk. I urge everyone to boycott his company!

My regular pharmacy having recently closed, I went to the RiteAid store that is a block from my home. I presented my prescription for ** 40 mg and asked for a price quote. I was told that the 90 day supply would be $425. Since I had paid $18.00 at my last pharmacy, I ask that he recheck, making sure he was quoting the generic, not the ** which this med replaces. He repeated the price. I told him what I had been paying, and pointed out the sign above my head which promises that RiteAid will honor all other pharmacy prices and coupons, and was told that this store had 'no competitors', and that sign was not in effect.

I then left and got quotes of $125 from CVS Pharmacy and $95 from Kroger. I then went to Costco, where I was charged $12.56 for the identical meds. This RiteAid is in a transitional neighborhood, where many of the residents cannot get to other pharmacies. Many are older and may not realize that prices vary from store to store. I can only assume that RiteAid is participating in a major rip-off of the uninsured in the area. I reported the problem to the store manager and to the RiteAid corporate offices and am awaiting a response - but not holding my breath. I really just want folks to be aware of this insane pricing policy.

Having 4 children, we've been through our fair share of antibiotics. We've had plenty that had to be chilled and some that did not. Upon picking up prescriptions for the children, we've always been told when we had to refrigerate. This time we were not told to, and nowhere on the bottle did it say to, so we didn't. On about the third day of treatment, our precious 6- month-old son starting vomiting much more than usual. We were coming up with many theories of why he may have been doing that. The only thing we didn't consider was that maybe the medicine was supposed to be chilled. Finally on the 6th day, I just got a feeling and called the pharmacy. I asked if there was any chance that the medicine was supposed to be chilled. It was.

Fortunately, there are no serious, long-term side effects, but 3 days of my little baby projectile vomiting is enough for me to never go back to Rite-Aid. It was a careless mistake at the expense of an innocent baby. The consequences were that my baby essentially was more ill than he started, and we had to get a new prescription filled at another pharmacy, which cost us more money.

I'm done with Rite Aid once and for all; they can't seem to do anything right in that pharmacy. I dragged myself out of bed to go to my doctor to find out I had a very bad cold and the flu. I asked my doctor to call my prescription in so I wouldn't have to wait hour for it, drove up to the store and decided to call before I went in. I asked about my prescription;they put me on hold almost 10 min. I went in and waited another 10min. in line to find out the medication I needed wouldn't be in until Monday; today is Friday. They didn't offer to call another Rite Aid in the area to fill my prescription;she just stood there looking dumbfounded with no answers. This is not the first complaint I have about the Rite Aid stores--there are many more.I try to patronize the businesses in my area, but seems to me Rite Aid no longer needs me as a customer.

It's unfortunate that I have to drive farther than I want to and burn more gas.Thank you.

I use this pharmacy al ot and have spent a lot of money there. I use a flex card that I only use for prescriptions and Cindy, who works in the pharmacy, knows that. They know me by name because I go in often. I received a leter from bcbs saying on Nov 5th, I spent $44.00 and it was questioned. I trust them, so I do not always look when I sign. I called Cindy and the mgr. It showed that I had one prescription and 5 items bought. I said what items. They could not tell me. I know I did not purchase any items that totaled the exact amount of $24.00 and they were both very uninterested that I would have to pay the $24.00 for something I did not get. I feel that with customers around, my card was used for someone else's purchase and I got theirs. I am switching to CVS and do not appreciate the attitude of the mgr or employee when I am well known there and spend a lot of money there. I will not be going to this Rite Aid again and the mgr did not call me back and I am very upset.

No physical damage. It just shows that when you have a problem no one cares, but all they care about is the money you spend at this store, but will not help when you know you did not buy the items on your bill and they could not tell you what it is. All it said was 5 items purchased, no details.

I was told to take it because it was the same med. We argued because I disagreed. I later call my doctor and reported the matter. I was told that ** is not the same as **. My doctor called a different drugstore to replace my med.

I will never return to RiteAid. This was the second time this has happen. Suppose I would have taken the medication. I have been without my meds for 2 days, simply because the pharmacist would not admit I was given the wrong med. Please look into the matter. I have kept the medication because I am unable to return it once it leaves store. My co-pay was only $10.00. However, it's the principle the matter and the lack of integrity of the pharmacist.

I got the wrong dosage of ** from the pharmacy. I was supposed to get 50mg, but got 250mg. I had seen my doctor, Dr. ** for tremors. I had a MRI done and there were white spots on my brain, and some shaking while writing, sleeping etc. Anyway he prescribed ** for me and told me to take 1/2 a tablet for one week, then increase to a full tablet. I am to see him again in November. I had my prescription filled by Rite Aid corp, and picked it up after my son and I had gone to the movies.

I went home and took 1/2 a tablet. It was 250 mg, I took 1/2 tablet as told. I woke up at 7:00 a.m. because I had to vomit and had diarrhea. I could not walk, and everything was dark. Everything was spinning. I just thought maybe it would take a little longer to wear off. So I tried to go back to sleep but the bed was spinning and I think I fell asleep but I was hallucinating. Nightmares.. This continued all morning with vomiting, diarrhea, spinning. My son was home, but I told him I just needed to sleep awhile.

I had horrible nightmares, flashbacks from some things that happened to me as a child, they felt real. I kept waking back up, with the vomit and diarrhea, and still couldn't walk or see. Everything was dark. I knew it wasn't wearing off and started to panic. I had to crawl to bathroom. I was afraid to tell my son, he's 14 and I didn't want him to panic. But I starting feeling like I was going to hurt myself, because of the hallucinations, they were so real, trust me I can still remember them and it's been since 8-26.

Anyway, about 2:00 I called my cousin crying to have her come over because I was scared and didn't know what to do. She came over and we called my doctor, but he only had emergency 911 to call. So we called my regular doctor and same thing. So Sandy called Rite Aid to tell them what was going on and what the medication was doing and what should we do? They just said to call poison control. We called poison control, they said go to hospital. At this time, I still didn't know that I had 100mg too much in my system. Sandy called my friend Maryjo to come take me to hospital and she would take my son home with her.

Alex was freaking out, he thought I was going to die. I tried to tell him I'd be ok, just needed to stop vomiting and stop spinning. I honestly didn't know if I was going to be ok. 3:00 p.m. The hospital took me in right away and put me on IV saline to get fluids back in and also med to stop the spinning, I couldn't walk still and still vomiting and diarrhea, and hallucinations. I thought I was on a ship. Sounds funny now, but it wasn't then. My other friend Kerry also came down because she too knows that I can't take a lot of medication, I am sensitive to it, and was worried.

The hospital said I was having an adverse reaction to the drug. They didn't know I had too much cause I didn't either. I stayed til 8:00, then my friend MJ picked my son up, he stayed in room with me, cause he was afraid I was still going to not wake up. I spent all day Sunday in bed. The vomiting stopped, but the dizziness was still there and I felt like I had a hangover. I couldn't eat. My son was still freaked out and not leaving my side. I also missed Monday from work. I still felt dizzy and was afraid to drive and still felt sick. I am a manager and this was quite embarrassing.

I called my doctor to talk to him, but we kept playing phone tag. I was pissed at him, because I told him specifically that I am sensitive to medications. I can't even take 2 ** without falling out. Anyway, he called back and I missed him. I called him and we didn't talk til last week. But I made an appt with my regular doctor, Dr. ** and told her what happened, that was Wed. She said no way would Dr ** prescribe that dose for me. She said she would never have given me that much.

I told "well it was 250 mg and I took 125." She said she would have given me 25mg. I also told her Dr. ** never called me back so I couldn't confirm. Anyway, she said to talk to pharmacy. I called pharmacy and a young woman answered and I asked her if they kept copies of prescriptions. She said yes and I had her look mine up. Imagine my thoughts when she told that yes, I was given 350 when in fact I should have received 50mg. I went to pharmacy that evening on 9-7. I asked to speak to pharmacist. He said the District Pharmacy MGR was there. I spoke to DM, his name is and he said they take these things seriously and someone would call me. I am waiting for them to call. I intentionally returned four days later to pick up the medication because I have always had a problem with medication being ready within a reasonable time frame at this particular store. I was certain it would be ready so I entered the store at 7:00 PM to pick up the medication and leave in a timely manner to pick up my children after a full day of work and school. I entered the pharmnacy only to find the medication was not ready. I was initially told the script was lost. After the young lady continued to look for the script she said maybe they were out of the medication. I asked if anyone from the store had called to inform me they did not have the medication or if they had even ordered the medication? The young lady could not answer either question. After the script was found, I was told it would be just a few minutes.

Well, a few minutes was one hour later with no medication. I was standing right there in the store at the register and witnessed three people receive service at the drive thru while I was standing in the store. I left without the medication because I had given Eckerd more than enough time to provide a service in a timely manner. I have been a customer of Eckerd for the past 17 years for prescriptions for myself and my family and the service has gotten increasingly worse. I live 20 miles from the nearest Eckerd and the wait over the years at times with sick children have been to numerous to count and the latest incident made me realize that Eckerd, for whatever reason does not value my business so I intend to take my business elsewhere.

About 1=1/2 mos. I was in there to pickup my monthly scripts 2 wks ago and it wasn't mentioned. She said if you can be here by 1:55, we can ring you out, otherwise sometime after 2:30. My son who is 13 has a condition called Eagles Barrett Syndrome and has been on medication all his life. Because of this condition he will be having a double kidney transplant very soon. Last October his Renal Doctor started him on a new medication called **. The prescription was called in by the doctor's nurse. So never before seeing this medication and the nurse telling me about the possible side effects, I gave it to him for 29 days (pretty much a whole month). After about a week my son started complaining about chest pains, not being able to catch his breath and a very sharp pain like a knife going through his head. Being that I had never seen this medication before and being told the side effects I figured this was just a reaction and eventually it would go away after he got used to it. After all I trusted my pharmacist as much as the doctor!

The day after Thanksgiving, I called the pharmacy for his refill. When my husband got home with it, he told me to look at it. It didn't even resemble the first prescription! I called the pharmacist thinking that it might be a generic form of ** only to be told that there is no generic form of it!! It turned out that what they gave him the month before was something called **! I called the Renal doctor on call at Children's hospital to see what the effects there could be for my son with his condition and all. Well it turns out that I was told that ** is not for anyone under the age of 18 nor had it ever been tested on anyone under 18! (Apparently it has now!!) They sent us for so much blood work and testing to check possible side effects, kidney damage, liver damage, etc. Thank God it all came out ok. They said he was very lucky, there was no damage that they could see.

I don't know what I would do if something would have happened to him. I have 3 children and he is my oldest (my baby). He has made it through so many surgeries and illnesses because of his condition and has made it through all of them (some barely) that if a careless mistake like this would have severely hurt or even killed him. I don't know what I would have done. At least I wouldn't want to think about it!! The pharmacist working that night swore that he would call the corporate office that coming Monday morning to report the error! I waited 2 weeks and never heard from them so I called them myself only to find out it was never reported. I guess they figured it was a mistake, I had the right medication now and I would just forget about it and not pursue it. Well they thought wrong!

After my husband went to pick up the prescription, I noticed that we only received a 30 gram tube with a refill prescription for another 30 grams. Immediately I called Eckerd and the pharmacist there abruptly stated that 60 gram tubes no longer exist so they gave the next smaller size. My copay for this drug is $50, and I was angry that no one bothered to call me before the prescription was filled to inform me of this. Nor did anyone inform my husband at the time of pickup that we were only getting half the prescription.

That night I decided to check with my insurance company on drug dispensing policies. They said that 60 gram tubes do exist, and if the pharmacy does not carry the 60 gram size then they need to fill the prescription as ordered by the doctor, by combining two tubes. I also stopped by a CVS pharmacy to see if they carried 60 gram tubes. Lo and behold, there were plenty stocked on the shelves.

At this point I am thoroughly aggravated with Eckerd pharmacy for not filling my prescription as ordered and for failing to inform me of any problem with filling it. Had they called me or told my husband before he paid for the prescription, we would have had the option of taking the prescription to CVS. I also would have had the option of getting a different prescription from the doctor, for a 100g tube, which my copay covers and is a size that Eckerd happens to carry.

The supervising pharmacist, Sima, was the third and equally unhelpful person I spoke to about my half-filled prescription. I feel the service at this pharmacy is seriously lacking, and I still feel compelled to stand by my principles and somehow correct this situation.

The sign did not indicate that a 50% off sticker had to be on product. 50% off signs were placed all over various shelves. Any consumer would think that the shelf that had the 50% off sign could get those items. I called the manager and he just shrugged and said only the items indicated with a sticker are 50% off. I told him that I felt that was false advertising and at the least very misleading. He just shrugged and walked away. I asked him to correct the signs and he kept walking.

I called in a refill for cholesterol medicine on Sunday July 13 and went to pick it up ther next day and was told they were out of that medicine and they had ordered some for me to come the next day. I went up there the next day and it wasn't in yet. I was asked my phone number and they said they would call me when it came in. I never heard from anyone so I called today (July 20) and was told it still hadn't come in. I called another pharmacy to see if they had it and they did. I decided to call another Eckerd pharmacy to see if they had it and they did too. I thought maybe they were having problems getting that one certain pill ordered. They could have at least sent me to the other store but that option wasn't even offered. Last month I went for my blood pressure medicine and was told they were out. I didn't get those for two days. These are medicines I get every month and I always call it in two or three days ahead so I won't have to wait. I am changing stores after this.

On July 2, 2003, I had two prescriptions filled, one was for ** 50 mg and one was for ** 20 mg. A couple of days after we had them filled, it was time for me to put the new pills into my pill box, and at that time, I realized that they had given me my fluid pill in both bottles instead of giving me my thyroid medicine in the appropriate bottle. I immediately called the druggist and they offered to fix it, and the person I spoke with said it should have never happened. If you desire to speak with anyone, please call me at my home number and speak with my wife, Linda, as I am sick and not able to handle these type matters very well.

I feel this complaint is very important. Rite Aid consistantly charges me a co-pay of $9 for any prescription, even when the medicine would cost less than $9 if paying cash. Lay consumers usually do not know the usual selling price of an rx. I know that the pharmacies at Longs and Target charge me the usual price (e.g $4-$5), NOT the HMO co-pay of $9. This activity is unethical, unprofessional and illegal.

The last 4 times I had to go to the Eckerds Pharmacy, I had to wait 45 minutes to get my prescriptions. Others standing around said same. Store recently remodeled to supply more merchandise. Why couldn't the pharmacy be moved to the front of the store? Why can't other checkers help? Today there were two at the front with one customer! I noticed at least 10 baskets with medicine in them waiting to be checked out.
There are elderly who have trouble walking to the back of the store. There are those like me who have asthma or other breathing problems. There are a minimum of seats for sitting while you wait. If you don't stand near the cashier you really will be kept waiting! The one this (04-15-03) afternoon is slow as Christmas and smacks on her chewing gum the whole time! I am a business person; I was always taught that chewing and smacking gum at work is very unprofessional. She is the same one I've had to deal with the last 4 times either during the afternoon or after work!

I missed an extra hour of work to wait 45 minutes in Eckerds. It is not any better after work either, because I have waited as long at that time also. Maybe Eckerds needs to forget about all the junk they want to sell other than drugs and pay attention to hiring more pharmacists and clerks! That's not all a friend of my was given the wrong prescription one time and almost died.

I went to the pharmacy to have my prescription filled and was treated with disrespect as if I were a criminal. I explained I was in a car accident in Washington DC and was getting my doctors prescription filled and that I was on file. I was then asked the time of my appointment. What has that to do with my meds? I'm in pain I need my meds and I'm treated like a criminal.

Over the past year, my local Eckerd Drug Store has filled my monthly prescription accurately 2 times over 12 months. I take **, a blood pressure medication, the same dose, and same amount every month. The troubles began with long lines at the pharmacy with employees ignoring customers, conducting personal business, and speaking inappropriately about complaints in the presence of customers. My prescription should take a few hours to fill, but often it is days. I adapted my visits to Eckerd by coming during non-peak hours to conduct my business. Sadly, the customer service was still poor. My prescription has been lost and filled inaccurately several times.

Per a suggestion of the pharmacy, I attempted to call in my prescription using a touch tone service. Again, adjusting my needs to better suit the company. And again, they would get my prescription wrong. Wrong dose, wrong amount and sometimes even the wrong drug. During my long waits in line, I have witnessed on 2 occasions other customers being given the wrong medication and even an empty prescription bag. I work as a Paramedic in an Emergency room and I always double check my medication before I leave Eckerd. Due to my health insurance, I must continue to utilize this company.

My concern is for the elderly, and people outside of health care that may be unable to check their medications for errors. Who will be the advocate for those patients. In a continual effort to solve my problems with Eckerd, I have complained to the store manager, Pharmacy manager, regional and district manager. Eckerd's response was to send me a $25.00 gift certificate to the store. Is this to compensate my time? My gas? Or the assistance that I have offered to other customers checking the accuracy of their own prescription fills. Let's have some accountability.

On May 23rd, I arrived at the pharmacy and gave the pharmacist my new prescription for **. She advised me that my insurance would not pay because I just got the prescription filled last month. She indicated that the prescription had been filled for 100 pills and it had only been thirty days. When the prescription was filled in April I only received 30 pills, the bottle indicated that 100 pills had be sold, however this was a mistake. I went home and retrieved the old bottle and showed it to the pharmacist. She proceeded to reprimand me indicating that I was trying to get the prescription too soon. I asked her to look carefully at the container, it could not contain 100 pills... only thirty. Once she realized her mistake she just said "oh". Never apologized for the mistake. The Pharmacist assistant realized that they owed me 70 pills.

I take several medications all the time, that are not to be discontinued suddenly. I am also on Medicaid share of cost. At the time I needed refills the pharmacy filled them but when I went to pick them up, found I was not in the computer yet for full Medicaid for that month (March). I returned a couple of days later to see if Medicaid had me in the computer yet, and the pharmacist (Vicki) checked... I wasn't. I told her I would return the next day because Medicaid told me I was covered.

Without telling me, the pharmacist proceeded to put all my refills back in stock as soon as I left the counter. This meant that to refill the refills again, they would be dated April instead of March and not covered by Medicaid yet. It left me without these vital meds (I am also a cancer patient) for over a week and now going into the second week because I cannot afford to pay for them.

As with each time I have gone to this particular Rite-Aid (in Victorville) I have had to endure an extremely lengthy wait for a prescription that was called in hours before. The clerk is always rude, dismissing customers' complaints and concerns by walking away as they are speaking to her, not really willing to find out through the insurance company why the eligibility is not going through but rather telling the customer that the prescription can not be filled period.

This is what occurred tonight and many other days i have filled prescriptions there. It is not surprising that she treats the consumer in this manner because she treat the pharmacist that way too, being blatantly disrespectful to him in front of customers and making him appear to be incompetent which gives an uneasy feeling when your life may be in some sort of jeopardy due to an error.

She had at this point taken 2 a day for 29 days. We went home and I did take her blood pressure. It was lower than normal (89/64). She went back to the Dr. to be sure nothing was majorly wrong, and to find out if she could begin her correct medication which is for Acne.

    1. I have filled my prescriptions at Eckerds (the one in Crawfordville) for over 2 years. One prescription I receive every month.
    2. I have had Capital Health Plan during the entire time I have filled these prescriptions at Eckerds.

    3. Because the store could not access online to the Insurance Company they told me I had to pay full price for my prescription and then get reimbursed. I have a $7.00 co-pay.

I get all my family's prescriptions filled at this store and well as our other pharmacy items. I have NEVER written a bad check at this business.

If my business in no more valued than this I will take it across the street to Walgreen's. Lucy offered to credit my credit card. I don't understand why I couldn't have my money back. I do understand store policy but should have been informed when asked if I could return this item. As it is I made a wasted trip.

On Nov 15,2000 4:15PM I went to pick up my prescriptions that I ordered the previous Friday. I rang the call button for service. My sales slip given me was timed out at 5:28PM. Just about 45 min. There were two pharmicists chatting in the back (well, they had white coats on and were oblivious to any customers in or out of the store).

There were at least 5 customers inside the store and a line of at least 5 cars behind me. Only one clerk to wait on all of us, she apologized all over the place for the delay. I place this right on the management for neglect of service to the ten customers waiting for service. I am very disappointed in Eckerd's service. My parents and I spend a lot of money for drugs at Eckerd's pharmicy. It would be nice to get better service.,don't you think?

After I got the meds I remember that Eckerds had a "stock-up" sale on Coke products. I went in to get some. I wasn't really suprised to find the Diet Coke that I wanted was "temporarily" out of stock. And "check with us later" was the best answer I could get as to when they would have more.

Recently two months ago I was given blood pressure medicine instead of my **. I noticed that it was not the same shape but it was pink. Lucky I knew the shape of my medicine. Eckerd told me to bring the pills back but I told them I DID not drive. When I was on the phone they told me I was mistaken because the information on the bottle was correct. I told them what was in the bottle was not **.

They came out and took the bottle. My **, I was given a higher dose which I took a few until I realized it was wrong. As for my ** I was given **, which one of the pharmacist caught after several times, taken it on different occasions. I was taking ** and ** at the same time. The pharmacist asked me how I felt and I told her "totally out of it - spacey." She said she would make note of it. On several occasions I was given diabetic medicine. They messed up with similar names. This is some of the things that happened to me.
