Since the store offers a great variety of items from stationery, over the counter generic medications, feminine hygiene items, household, food and skincare items - that is my type of store! Aside of an idea that I do get 20% on all items that are not on sale, I love to come in each and every time because of how sales associates and store managers treat me. And the last occurrence just last week made me feel that people at this store really care about me. It happened around 1am when I was leaving the store after resuming my shopping and the guard actually walked out with me and waited until I cross the street because the crazy customer that was harassing customers inside went out. I do love details as well and am hoping that my survey is descriptive enough.

We got a prescription and took it to Sade at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Rancho Santa Margarita California. She was very rude and said, "I'm not going to fill this. I've pulled my own teeth and had no pain medication" so my wife should be able to live through the pain of having teeth pulled without any more pain medication. She had no sympathy and was very rude and really? Did she really have to pull her own teeth without pain medication? Not sure what country she's from but I don't think that anyone gets teeth pulled without some kind of pain medication or very hard alcohol. Anyway I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. Several years ago, I used Rite Aid in Palo Cedro, California, for my pharmaceutical needs. It was a small, temporary offshoot. This pharmacy confused orders, and had a ridiculously long waiting period, and snippy, rude employees. After a year of this, I switched to Owens pharmacy across the street. Their attitudes were pleasant, wait times were minimal, and the overall experience was 100% better than my experience with Rite Aid. Recently, however, Rite Aid bought out Owens, and all prescriptions, unknown to the customers, were transferred to Rite Aid. We were not pre-notified, and found out only when we went to pick up our usual prescriptions. Last week, we tried picking up non-narcotic meds, and were told in 4 days.

While standing in line, we watched the interactions between clerks and new customers. The clerks were rude and snippy when confused clients were inquiring about their medications. When it was finally our turn, the clerk gave rude, snippy answers to our questions. The clerk said our meds would be ready on the 28th, no sooner. We arrived on the 29th, and told that we have to go home and call in every prescription. In a rude tone, she says "Call a week ahead of time, not last minute!"

So, now we have to wait another two weeks. This will put us a month out. We will be changing pharmacies immediately. Rite Aid employees are awful. They have terrible customer service. I feel that I am an inconvenience to their clerks. They are ridiculously slow, and in my opinion, are not professional or equipped enough to be adding new customers to their already incompetent pharmacies. If you are thinking about joining Rite Aid for your pharmaceutical needs, I advise you look elsewhere.

Thursday 5-23-2019 1:48. Johnstown, Pennsylvania. RiteAid on Bedford, St. My prescription was to be filled and has been filled at 28 days after its prior fill date and is covered by insurance. RiteAid, apparently has a policy that doesn't allow you to fill your prescription until 29 days which is their policy... likely due to being hit hard from the DEA after the opiate craze, that I'm sure they lined their pockets with. Anyway, my former pharmacy closed abruptly and sent all the prescriptions to RiteAid without option. Now, I don't use RiteAid because I've had terrible experiences with how poorly and rudely the people that work there have treated me and my husband. So today when I called them, they said my prescription would be filled and I could pick it up... awesome!

My husband went to pick it up and they said they wouldn't fill it until tomorrow because of my insurance. I call my insurance and they tell me that it's completely fine to fill and it wasn't anything on their end. So, again I call RiteAid to tell them it's not my insurance and then they tell me that it's not the insurance it's their policy to not fill anything until the 29th day. Which is tomorrow... It's Memorial Day weekend and I'm going out of town. Now instead of leaving tonight, I have to wait till the morning. RiteAid took it upon themselves to call my doctor and basically red flag me for requesting my prescription 3 times because they had trouble understanding on their end. Not to mention the absolutely terrible customer service, nasty looks and very uncouth behavior... They took time out of their day to call my primary care physician and slander my name!

I apologize for trying to get my prescription filled that I've gotten filled at 28 days for years, but RiteAid needs to be clear and handle people and themselves with much more respect and way better customer service interactions. I will be extending my (experiences) and the slander on my good name to my lawyer. Your company needs to train people that not everyone who takes a medication that is controlled is a drug addict and stop treating people like they are when your employees have no idea who I am or why I take a medication.

This afternoon, we needed to take a passport photo for my son, who is disabled. I asked about where to take the passport photos and a RiteAid staff member named Marc, came out. I said I needed to get my son, who is disabled and was sitting in the back section of the store, to come forward to the front section. When I came back, Marc just ignored us, said nothing and proceeded to check out other customers. We waited for about 10 minutes as he checked out customer after customer. He could have communicated something like "I'll be with you in just a moment" -- but he said nothing, completely ignored us with a grumpy face, until finally I had to ask him again. He then came over. I ushered my son to stand in front of the white screen to take the passport photo.

Marc then was trying to get the camera to work and it took an extremely long time. My son, who is disabled, could not stand for long, and Marc was completely unsympathetic and plain rude. He was still fiddling with the camera, when I asked if it was going to take a while, maybe my son could sit down, when he proceeded to scream and yell at us. Marc has no heart and I am so upset. He didn't apologise, has absolutely no communication or interpersonal skills, and needs some serious training about how to speak politely with a customer.

There are other staff there, such as an elderly lady and an elderly Indian gentleman, and a younger Asian guy, who have been helpful, kind and friendly -- patient and well-mannered -- so I don't want to blast everyone there. The store is generally clean and well-maintained. But Marc needs some training in customer service, and how to speak politely to people. He walks around grumpy and when he yelled at my disabled son, that was really the last straw. No heart or compassion. The most horrific experience and I will never forget how terrible he was.

This poor man is weaning off of his pills because they will not fill it on the date it is due. It is so hard to watch a man in his 80s being in so much pain. He paid cash for the script and we could not find the receipt for it. Even had the Highmark nurse call and they gave her the same story. I consider this as abuse and if I had the money would take legal action. We don't want them to think we are drug seeking. I am afraid to say any more to them in fear they will take revenge (like not filling it until the 29, saying they are out of them, or saying they lost the script). Have done this in the past. but was resolved. I am really sad because we eventually have to find another Pharmacy. We have been doing business with them for over 15 years and it is like losing a friend.

For the first time ever I felt like I needed security from the security. Never, not in the worst of neighborhoods, have I seen a security force that consists of a very young man pacing around in a hoodie giving me menacing looks and comments, and generally going out of his way to look and act thuggish. I don't know what level of loss they are experiencing or why they feel they have to have 'plain clothes' security checking people out with an attitude the NYPD of old would have been proud of. This particular 'guard' refused to identify himself as security or give his name, instead demanding my name and getting up close to me in a manner which made me feel genuinely uncomfortable if not threatened. I believe some of these security personnel are ex convicts and, if that is the case, I would venture to guess from the jailhouse body language of this individual that is exactly what he is. But shame on Rite Aid for putting such a force into play.

I'm sorry if they are experiencing so much shoplifting, but making customers feel like they need security from the security and providing the single worst retail experience of my life is an unacceptable solution. Loss prevention has resulted in customer loss, for I and anyone I know or talk to will never go in that store again, if not any RiteAid all together. One does not go shopping in order to undergo this level of discomfort not from other customers, but the employees themselves.

My doctor's office faxed 3 scripts over at 9:30 a.m. I got here at 10:30 to pick up. Not ready. They said they were waiting for some kind of verification and it would be 2 hours until my meds were ready. I have medical assistance so I am in their system when it comes to insurance purposes. I give them 3 hours. Call to make sure that my scripts have been filled and am told that they didn't fill them because they needed my insurance card. I offered to give my card number over the phone to speed up the process. They refused and requested I bring it to the store.

So I come to the store, AGAIN and go to the drive through. I present my card. I explain I've been waiting since 10 am. She comes back and politely tells me to pull around to let the next customer be waited on because the pharmacist has to count my pills. Now granted it is not the guy behind me's fault that this happened. And that is the only reason I pulled around. I have always had trouble with this pharmacy. Waiting HOURS for prescriptions that haven't been filled yet due to a failure to communicate on the part of RiteAid is just unacceptable. They spoke with me and not one time did they mention insurance. They said it needed some kind of verification that would take them 2 hours. I give them 3 hours and call and get told they still haven't filled them due to not knowing if I had insurance. I obviously want my meds regardless right? I did go there to pick them up. Why would I not want them filled? Customer service is a tragedy anymore.

My only ISSUES are the lack of low fat and low sodium foods and the elimination of rolling papers.

I had the surgeon's office send the prescription for three different eye drops required prior to my husband's cataract surgery to a RiteAid Pharmacy thinking I might change my preferred pharmacy. When I went to pick them up, they only had two for me. I asked if there wasn't a third one and was told they had only been sent two prescriptions. I thought I must have been mistaken. I really should have called the surgeons office on Monday, but I didn't. On the day of the surgery, I found out he should have had a third one to apply prior to surgery, but was told to just be sure to get it for post surgery. When we returned home, I called the pharmacy. They checked and sure enough they did have the third prescription. Their only response to why it hadn't been filled with the other two was, "I don't know."

When I made the extra trip to get the eye drops, I grabbed a 12 roll pack of Charmin bath tissue that had a large sign saying $13.99. I thought I could get it a bit cheaper somewhere else, but it was probably worth the extra to save another stop. When my items were rung up, my price for the bath tissue was $22.99! Seems you have to register for rewards card to get the price that is only a little more than other stores in the area. I asked them to remove the tissue from the sale and paid $12.50 when I stopped at another store on the way home. I struck RiteAid off my list for possible efficient, reasonable pharmacies.

I started using the RiteAid pharmacy in March of this year. I was hopeful that I would not have the issues I had at Walgreens. I was disappointed. There are 6 people in my home, 3 of us take medications. Despite our med provider repeatedly sending the med change, they continued to give me the wrong one. They then blamed the doctor, saying that he never sent it. He proved he had, and RiteAid dismissed it as a communication error. I take a controlled medication for anxiety/panic, and they have made it incredibly tough to fill. Repeatedly dismissing refill orders from my doctor, then claiming she didn't send them. I showed the refill transmission, and it was dismissed as a system error, and not their problem.

I also found out today, that the text to fill, and phone refill requests, are dismissed by the system if there is any delay in contacting the doctor. They also lied to me, and said they were waiting on the info from my doctor, when in fact, their system had dismissed my refill request altogether. Meaning I would have been waiting on a confirmation that would have never come. They still have kept giving me the incorrect dose of my son's meds, despite the number of times the doctor inputs the appropriate dose. The employees are very nice to me, but nice does not make up for incompetence and apathy. Store #05358

Let's start I've been going to RiteAid for 2 years. The first year seemed to be fine. Then they changed pharmacists then everything went from bad to unbearable. I take numerous medications unfortunately. Two are narcotics the rest are not any better but not controlled. It started with asking them if it would be possible to make sure my medicine was ordered or ready before the fill date. I had never had issues before but now I had to drop off the meds then wait a week or more if they were not in stock. This put me behind over a week each month. Eventually causing issues with my doctor. My doctor finally wrote out one script for all my meds to be filled on the same day.

I called my insurance and my doctor was aware two of them were being filled 3 days early. It was a last ditch attempt to get me on a one day fill. I go in drop off the script. They FINALLY HAVE ALL of my meds available. I was so happy. But the pharmacist came out, "BTW RiteAid has a 3 day fill policy." Regardless of what my doctor wants or what my insurance approved they REFUSED to give me my meds written for that date of fill. I explained because of RiteAid incompetence I was having to do this. I can't pre-order my own meds. They caused my meds to be filled repeatedly late every month when a year before it was never an issue. I asked the pharmacy if they could hold the meds until "RiteAid" deemed me worthy to give me my meds. He said NO that if the meds were out when they went to fill I would have to wait for re order starting this gross negligence to start all over.

In the meantime I have to be sick, lose money, time and potentially my doctor because RiteAid is God of their universe. When I was about to leave the tech had me "confirm" my address on a paper that said annual review. I laughed. I stated, "You review me?" "How dare you!" I won't be returning not now or ever. I have found a pharmacy who has NO issue doing what is necessary for my health. And working within the law by communicating between my doctor, insurance and myself. It seems this should be an illegal practice on so many levels. When did pharmacies become doctors and the DEA. If we all are doing the right thing the right way RiteAid should simply do their job and fill the medication. The amount of times I had to go through being embarrassed and humiliated in front of people and hours spent trying to fix it, I now have extreme panic attacks every time I have to deal with my medication.

I will be seeking counsel on this since it seems to only happen at certain stores. I found another RiteAid who said that the pharmacist can make exceptions and call my doctor which this pharmacist couldn't. He can go to school for this but has lost the ability to pick a phone up and punch in my doctors phone number. And I was always made to blame and made ashamed because I took narcotics. I follow everything my doctor tells me to a T but somehow I'm less human and have no feelings or that thief better than how treatment causes me severe anxiety and low self esteem. They don't have the right just like some doctors do. Please do your homework on the place and the pharmacist before you go. Or a simple medication refill can change into a nightmare.

I returned at 7:30, picked up several Rx, and headed home, ready to take my cough syrup. However, on arriving, found that particular Rx was not in the package, and called back to Rite-Aid! They very lamely indicated that they had more complications for filling the Rx, and I would need to come back to get that one! When I returned, they were asked about the problems and why the RX was not ready, and started carrying on about the complications (though it was a commercially packaged Rx, and only needed to be entered into their system).

No apologies for having to return, even though they were severely delinquent in getting it done, plus, seemed like I was getting the evil eye for having a narcotic cough syrup! Not the first time I have had problems with Rite-Aid taking overly long filling Rxs, but they seem to specialize in incompetence at the Steptoe/Gage store in the Tri-Cities, WA. It only took them 7 tries to get my current address corrected on my orders (transferred them from another pharmacy when TriCare changed providers), and they used an old address that was bad, from 14 years before! Most of the staff lasts less than 60 days, as they have so many problems with their PR, that the pharmacy staff seems to get tired of dealing with the customer's complaints and the inadequacies of the pharmacy! I have been diagnosed with MS and several other conditions that come with MS. I have complained about this to the store and corporate to no effect. This store is located @ 1350 West D Street North Wilkesboro, NC. I have been shorted on pills, told some of my meds would have to be ordered, it's just one excuse after another. I have been going to this same store for over 3 years and I am fed up. Something really needs to be done with this store. I am quite sure that I am not the only one here where I live to have complaints with this store.

I spoke to her on the phone and she said they keep the original receipts and will not give it back. When I told her I needed it for my tax records, she basically told me I was out of luck. When I told her she couldn’t keep my receipt, she hung up on me. And when I asked for her boss, she would not give it to me. I called the pharmacy and they would not give me the person who heads up the store and its managers. She was very rude upon checkout and even worse when I tried to get my receipt back.

I think there is something very bad going on there. They have it and won’t give it back!! The date of inquiry is 12/20/17 @ 12:30pm, cashier # **. The transaction number of my new purchases is **, but that is not the transaction of my original receipt. Also, there was a transaction on 12/18 that occurred right after I was there and I did not make it. I’ve heard complaints before and believe that someone should investigate and rule out that there is no credit card fraud happening internally. If I could have complained to their manager, I would. But they have refused to give me any information.

While refilling a prescription, I saw a sign at the pharmacy counter stating that opiate prescriptions will only be filled by "special order." When I asked the pharmacist, about it, he said it could take up to three days! This is BS. When you have post-surgery or post-dental pain, you need medication IMMEDIATELY! Not in two or three days. This is not the law, it is RiteAid overreaction on RiteAid's part. Please make sure you complain to both the local pharmacy, and corporate management.

Called RiteAid back to fill the prescription on Monday. Cold is it follow up everyday up to Thursday to find out that each day they still needed to order the prescription. After a week of running out of a much-needed prescription and getting nowhere with the pharmacy on filling it all they can tell me is our supplier keeps failing to put it in our order of the day. And of course each time they supposedly put in the order it takes 3 days.

Here I am on the 11th day still waiting to get my prescription filled and waiting for them to tell me that the deadline in which they could fill the prescription from when my doctor wrote it has expired. I just want to know who I can call. Somebody really needs to be held accountable. All they can say is, "I am so sorry for the inconvenience". This is just ridiculous as I lay in bed for 7 Days in agonizing pain because of their negligence.

My problems with RiteAid go back to 2003 when my father was a cancer patient. The oncologist wrote a script for a drug, and when I arrived home with the script, the drug was similar in name to the what the doctor ordered but not the correct med. I immediately returned to the pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist who nearly fainted and exclaimed, "I almost killed him." Over the years there have been minor mistakes here and there, but recently the errors have escalated to the point where I may have to file a complaint with the state. My mother receives incorrect doses, she is shorted pills, and then they lie and say we must have lost them, or that they did a pill count of the store and all the meds were there. They also try to blame the doctor's office for not correctly ordering meds. All lies on their part, and they are extremely rude and defensive. The Feds should be investigating their practices.

Each month there was an issue getting prescription refilled. RiteAid always shifted the blame to my physician's office or insurance company, which is the largest in the world. I spent many hours each month on the phone to RiteAid, my physician's office and insurance company. After much research on my part it always came back to being the fault of RiteAid. My physician's office records telephone calls. When the nurse replayed the call she had with the RiteAid tech for my physician I'm told that this proved the RiteAid tech was dishonest.

My final straw with RiteAid was when one of the workers in the Hazel Green, AL pharmacy made remarks to me about my physician and his nurse questioning their competency and then bashing my insurance insinuating that it's substandard. I was without medication often because of the incompetence of RiteAid, NOT my physician or insurance. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that none were available and was hung up on. I did contact them again and spoke with a manager and MUCH LATER, after I had most likely forgotten more of the details I had someone from their higher management call me and was given all the customary apologies etc however I have since taken my prescriptions elsewhere and have not experienced any issue getting my prescriptions on time. I still have the same physician and same insurance. This serves as future proof that the issue was with RiteAid the whole time.

I presented the cashier with my Plenti card as well as the 4.00 coupon. During the transaction, while the register read 6.63. The cashier was attempting to take off the coupon. She then told me I could not use both coupons, I told her I didn’t see why since I had before in this exact store. She called for assistance. Theresa came to the front took the coupons and in a RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL manner stated, "You cannot use both of these coupons, they are both manufacturer's coupons and you can only use one." I told her, "I have had no problem, using both in the past in this store, why is this a problem now."

She stated I NEVER DID IT. "YOU WILL HAVE TO DECIDED WHICH COUPON YOU WANT TO USE." I of course chose the 4.00 coupon. She then realized the cashier had not even rang up the Curel lotion prior to attempting to utilize the coupons. Instead of apologizing that this was an error, she asked for the Plenti card, which I had provided at the beginning of the transaction. Another error on the cashier's part. Theresa snatched the card out of my hand, so RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I informed her she should never snatch anything out of anyone’s hand...

She tried to say she didn’t, however you know when someone snatches something out of your hand. She then with the store crowded made an announcement that people cannot use two manufacturer's coupons on one item, that cashiers are to ensure they remember that. This is a training item, that should be gone over in a meeting not on the floor when the lines are long to try to create a problem. I have been in the store at their posted 9 AM opening time 3 times and all 3 times they have been between 6-8 minutes late opening. This morning I was told by a sales associate that the pharmacist won't open until he has some help. OK, the help was 5 minutes late - that's not my problem. My time is as valuable as theirs. If your posted opening time is 9 AM, that's when you open - not at 9:06 or 9:08. It also takes much too long to get waited on in the store and particularly in the drive thru. As stated, I will be changing pharmacies soon and cannot recommend Rite Aid.

I have been going to this pharmacy for a long time and in the past couple years I have experienced a decline in competency of the pharmacists’ ability to fill medications when they are due for refilling. I noticed the decline in service after there were "staff" changes. It continues to get worse. I submit my RX well in advance, 1-2 months ahead of time, and when I call to see if they are ready to pick up, I am told that there is a delay of my insurance company in approving them. Many times I have contacted my insurance adjuster, and was told that they have always approved the medicines immediately upon the pharmacist’s request. I believe my adjuster. I have been taking the same medicine for years so there is no delay in establishing approval from the insurance company. What I did find out is that the RiteAid Pharmacy in Phelan, Ca. 92371 is the weak link.

I am a disabled person as approved by the State of California. When I ask for an explanation from the pharmacy on why the medicines are not filled, they start off by telling me it’s the insurance companies’ fault, then they tell me that they don't always check the computer to see what RX's need filling, and further still, they say they don't have the medicines available because they don't check the computers and have to order them, which causes a delay in keeping a therapeutic level of medicine in my system. They are, however, proficient in giving out excuses.

Presently, I am now behind a total of more than 40 days’ worth of medicine due to delays caused by them, over a one year period. My doctor has been told of the situation and is concerned that the pharmacy is negligent in fulfilling their obligations to provide competent services to the public. From the comments of other patrons that are standing in line with me, they too have had some of the same experiences as well as other negative situations not described here. I have changed my pharmacy to another one (not a RiteAid Pharmacy) and I write this to warn the public that if they choose to use this RiteAid Pharmacy in Phelan, CA. 92371, the same thing could happen to them.

Due to the small rural town I live in there is only one other choice of a pharmacy, and since my change, I have had no problems in getting the medicines I need in a timely, competent manner. I feel that the "big wigs" in charge of RiteAid Pharmacy, should start an investigation into the practices that are being conducted at this pharmacy. I am not the only one that is suffering from their incompetency.

I have been going to this pharmacy for 2 years since moving to Quincy Ma. I have never had a problem with them. They've always helped me out and are very punctual filling my prescriptions. The last 3 scripts I filled is where I have the problem. I shouldn't have to count my medication every time I fill my prescriptions, that's their job. I know people make mistakes (being a nurse myself). I get home and I'm supposed to have 60 pills due to I take 1 tab twice a day. Instead she gave me 30 pills. So I called and she told me after 2 weeks call and she'll refill the rest. Ok I was happy with that answer but I have yet to go back because I have a few more days. Then a week later I filled another script, supposed to get 120 pills and was given 90. NOW THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!

I called and they gave me a hard time because I didn't notice it until 2 days later when I realized the bottle didn't look full enough. So I never got the 30 pills that they forgot to give me. Which is THERE ERROR NOT MINE. Now I'm gonna run out early. They don't care. So when I went to pick up my controlled substance script, I counted the pills before I left the pharmacy and said to the male pharmacist that there has been some errors made on their behalf recently. Instead of apologizing and talking to me he says "So why do you come here then" I said excuse me? He said "Why do you come here, there's other pharmacies." That's my complaint!!! He did not have to speak to me like that. I'm in the healthcare field and you treat people with respect. Not tell them to go to another store because of his mistake.

The bottle said 120 pills were in the bottle but there were only 90... That's a HUGE error. Make sure you count your pills and make sure you have the right medication in the bottle before you leave the pharmacy. Once you leave the store they don't care about you. Now I wonder how many times I've been shorted pills, pharmacists can do drug diversion and it happens more than people know.

When her male manager came over to me, he did absolutely nothing about the situation! In fact, he was not even interested in hearing what the customer (meaning me) has to say! I honestly have had more than enough with the damn abuse coming from your store!

Your Rite Aid corporation store employees have absolutely no dignity and no respect for disabled, handicapped and/or even customers that are bandaged up such as myself and it sure shows! Also many many times I have called my Dr. to see if he had sent in my refills and when he tells me yes he did I call RiteAid and the girl says no he never called in. Many times that has happened. So the next shift person comes on and I ask if my refill have been sent in and they check everywhere and yes it is there. And I'm always told well she didn't look good enough. And if I go there and she is eating WOW do not bother her. She is a pleasant person to talk to but very very lazy. And when I ask if she can check everywhere because the Dr said he sent it in she says no it's not here.

I don't remember her name but I think she is the only ** girl there. When I call or go there and Mary or the other woman is working there is no problem. I get about 10 scripts a month plus my son and husband's so I really don't want to change stores but if I continue to have to work with that one woman then I will. It is very bothersome to have to call RiteAid then my Dr then RiteAid again then the Dr again. Sometimes 5 or 6 times. And that is upsetting the Dr that I have to continue to call so many times while all that time the script is at RiteAid.

Someone has to explain to that girl where the scripts will be when the Dr sends them in. I am really not a complainer until I have to go through things over and over. Is she lazy or is it that things do not register in her head. I don't think she should be working with the public. I pull up to the window when I go there and she just looks at me and says yeah instead of can I help you. Sorry to say but I think you will be losing many customers over her.

My experience with RiteAid Pharmacy has been sadly very negative. Rite Aid has made repeated mistakes in its preparation of my medications and has caused me great bodily injury, unneeded suffering and lost wages. I have been a very loyal customer of Rite Aid for more than 30 years. Lately the repeated mistakes and the level of job competence has finally forced me to take my business elsewhere. RiteAid has dispensed to me medications that they know I am deathly allergic to, causing me to end up in the emergency room and prolonged hospital stays in the burn unit. When I confirmed with them that my allergy was properly noted in their computer, their answer was "I'm sorry but we forgot to check the computer for your allergies." Just the total incompetence and severe neglect of the customer's well being and health is incredibly troubling as they fail to do even the most basic requirements of the job.

Last month I suffered a severe spinal injury that required an emergency surgery lasting over 5 hours. Needless to say I was in a crushing amount of pain after the huge procedure. My surgeon wrote me a hard copy prescription for analgesic pain medicine. I took the prescription to Rite Aid to be filled as I was in the worst pain of my life, and truly needed relief. Just to get clothes on and drive in my car was unbelievably painful. When I arrived at the Rite Aid Pharmacy during business hours I watched as the Eastern Indian woman head pharmacist walked out of the store past me. I checked and discovered that the pharmacist had closed the pharmacy vastly early with 25 minutes left to conduct business! Five other customers came in during business hours and seeing the pharmacy closed prematurely left understandably quite unhappy.

I was forced to drive back home and suffer greatly with no medication after a major spinal surgery. The next day I returned to the Rite Aid Pharmacy quite early in the case she decided to leave a half hour early again. I was informed by the Eastern Indian female lead pharmacist that they were unable to fill any prescriptions for anyone all night because they were conducting inventory. I attempted to inform her that it was still business hours and I was severely in need of having my hard copy prescription filled, but she disregarded my inquiries and walked away from the counter. I waited an hour and a half hoping they would have mercy as I just had spinal surgery and I did have the required hard copy prescription in hand, but the lady refused to address me ignoring my multiple inquiries until she again closed the pharmacy and left the store early with time remaining in advertised pharmacy business hours.

I was forced again to suffer the massively painful car trip to my residence and a horrible second day without any pain medication after a tremendous spinal trauma. The 3rd day I again suffered the preparation and the trip to the Rit Aid Pharmacy to have my hard copy prescription filled. I stood in line and watched as other patrons were given their prescriptions, but when I reached the front of the line the Eastern Indian female lead pharmacist said she wouldn't be filling any prescriptions for me. Surprised, I inquired as to the reason she had. She said "The DEA is restricting me from having my prescriptions filled". This statement made by this woman was obviously not true. I made repeated polite inquiries as to why she is saying something like she did and how can she just override the surgeon.

She adamantly refused to explain herself to me, and she gave no explanation, seemingly unable to articulate in English as her second language. Finally she replied saying she was going to call the police! For what reason I wondered as she had been treated very cordially and professionally by me for 3 days. With an hour left in the business hours the Eastern Indian female lead pharmacist announced that they couldn't fill any more prescriptions as their computer was now suddenly down. I couldn't confirm this to be true. An assistant pharmacy tech told me to drive a half hour to another Rite Aid Pharmacy to get my prescription filled. I suffered the fury of the unbelievable pain in my spine and body as I drove the distance. When I finally arrived there the pharmacy staff informed me that their computers were down.

I asked if one Rite Aid Pharmacy computer goes down does that mean that all the stores in the area's computers are down as well? The pharmacist said yes. It appears that a lack of basic understanding and a basic knowledge of the job is lacking in the Rainier Ave Eastern Indian female lead pharmacist. The incompetence of this woman is astounding. Her customer service, job knowledge and language skills are simply not there, as clearly is any empathy or sympathy at all. The lead pharmacist at the Rainier Valley Rite Aid is the worst employee I have ever seen; breaking company rules and the astounding negative effects she has perpetrated upon me and my healing process is totally unacceptable by anyone's standards. After over 30 years as a loyal money spending customer I am forced to leave RiteAid as the pharmacy there has been degraded to flagrant neglect and unbelievable incompetence.

It appears she has had no training at all in her job that she so consistently fails to do, as well as the fact she is completely lacking in the ability to clearly communicate with the customer. Hey Rite Aid! Shape up or you won't have any customers left at all to shop in your stores... Personally I'm taking my business elsewhere after being made to suffer so massively by the inept performance of this untrained and awful woman.

Apparently RiteAid now allows their cashiers to pick and choose whom they will check out, based on whether or not they think you're a "nice person." I had an encounter with a woman who would NOT check me out because 2 months prior, had her check me out but had to leave before she was done because she took too long, was too busy talking to other people, and I had a bus to catch. I had forgotten about the incident but she apparently thought I intentionally snubbed her (I DIDN'T). Now whenever she sees me, she tells me to get out of "her" store and says she won't check me out. RiteAid is also afraid of disciplining employees of certain races or ethnicities.

Well she pulled up at 10 mins till... I got in pay for my script and lo and behold I go back outside to my dad to leave and the sheriff has him block in parking place checking ID and tags... like we just robbed the freaking bank.

I then tried calling their CS number and had to do so several times for their automated system could not understand me or inexplicably disconnect me after putting me on hold.

After finally being able to speak to an actual person, I get a total idiot. They told me my cane was delivered but returned to their warehouse. I recently changed my email address which meant changing 100+ online accounts. It was a laborious process, but I finally accomplished it... for all except my account with RiteAid. After exchanging numerous emails with a RiteAid Customer Care rep and speaking with two Customer Care reps by phone over a three-week period, the problem is not resolved so I do not have a working online account with my pharmacy.

In fact, the situation was complicated by my contact with Customer Care employees who I came to believe were 1) lacking knowledge of the workings of the RiteAid website and 2) foreign-based so not familiar with how to engage RiteAid staff who were computer/website literate to provide assistance in resolving my problem. The rep with whom I exchanged emails deleted my original account - without my permission. However, when I followed his instructions to set up a new account, the website would not accept that account.

Based upon that disaster, I called the RiteAid customer service number and requested to speak with a supervisor. She was even less knowledgeable. Her only advice was to repeat the process of creating a new account, which again was unsuccessful. I twice requested to speak with the Webmaster or, at least, a member of the IT Dept, but neither rep would facilitate that. I think their refusal to put me in touch with IT was because neither of them knew how to contact IT.

This situation was unnecessary to begin with. Changing the email address associated with my online account should have been a simple process, not requiring any RiteAid staff intervention. The Webmaster is at fault for that. I am aware of the HIPAA privacy rule and understand the need to protect the medical information of a patient/customer. However, there are ways to maintain the security of the information while allowing a customer to edit his/her own account profile information. My medical information is no more sensitive than my financial information, yet, I successfully changed the email address associated with my online banking and credit card accounts without needing any assistance.

Nonetheless, even with that restriction, a customer should be able to resolve the problem with the assistance of a knowledgeable customer service rep.

[Emphasis on "knowledgeable".] I am pleased with the service I receive from my local RiteAid pharmacy, but if I cannot access my Rx information online, that is unacceptable. I will have to change the pharmacy chain I use.

All because RiteAid, the corporation, has created arbitrary and unnecessary technology complications and because the corporation is incapable of providing customer service. A "Customer Care" Dept? RiteAid has no right to advertise that they have such a department because they absolutely do not provide customer care! "Life is simple, but [RiteAid] insists on making it complicated." Confucius.

He could have called the PCP to verify that they wrote the prescription on just 4 days ago when I was at home as my wife and children have not moved yet and are finishing the school year in our home state. I struggle to work effectively without this medication and do not believe there are legitimate suspicions allowing Kyle to deny the prescription. If you have any query for a Rite Aid pharmacist on their website, you MUST belong to their Plenti program, or you are denied access. Why? Why does this pharmacy (and apparently most others) keep trying to get you to join their "discount" programs? Why are staff ALWAYS trying to get you to sign up? Clearly this is to access even more private information than already given up. I find it especially unethical that Rite Aid ties this in with providing consumers with medication information. It is not even slightly subtle. Healthcare cannot be the main goal. Shame on Rite Aid.

I've had several bad pharmacy experiences with the Salem, Oregon RiteAid on Commercial Street. Each visit, I've encountered rude pharmacy techs and pharmacists who don't really give a darn. Everyone who works behind that counter acts like they just don't want to be bothered and would rather be somewhere else. First, the pharmacy techs: they are rude, uncaring, and have zero customer service training. My daughter's doctor's office made a mistake with the electronic filing of her prescription and these people at Rite Aid were non-forgiving and acted like it was my fault. I even called my daughter's doctor's office and had a nurse who made the error on the phone with me and the people at Rite Aid still refused to help me and refused to speak to the nurse. The nurse re-sent a script to them to help them out and they refused that as well! They were belligerent and exhausting to even to try to communicate with.

The pharmacy tech with long hair that looks like wet ramen noodles got in my face and gruffly told me that I was not getting my prescription. Had she gotten any closer to my face and touched me, I would have called the police on her for assault. There was no reason for her to get in my face. I was not confrontational with her and approached her with calmness. That seemed to irk her that I was was so calm and collected. She seemed to get angrier because I would not argue back with her.

On to the pharmacists: the male pharmacist just walked away from me when we were discussing the doctor's mistake. He literally put his hands up in the air and walked away from me as I was trying to talk with him. His behavior was cold, hateful, and totally unprofessional. Again, I was treated as if I had made the mistake and was in the wrong. On various other visits to this RiteAid, I have encountered pharmacists that act as if they just want you to go away when they are consulting with you about the medication. Needless to say, I filed a complaint with their corporate office about my recent encounter. Hopefully, their customer service techniques will improve with proper training or the hiring of new/better staff. I have moved my prescriptions to another pharmacy and will not return to this store - ever.

I recently had the worst in store experience of my life at a Rite Aid store/pharmacy located in Butler, PA. After taking my 13 year old daughter to the dentist and finding out that she has an abscessed tooth and needs a root canal the dentist prescribed antibiotics and pain medication, while on the way home after leaving the dentist's office I spotted a Rite Aid that was less than a mile down the road, rather than driving 25 miles to the Rite Aid location in Grove City where I usually get prescriptions filled for myself and family I thought it best to get my daughter started on her medicine's as soon as possible so I stopped at this Butler Rite Aid store.

I gave the pharmacist or pharmacy tech my daughter’s prescriptions and the woman told me it would only take 15 minutes to get the two prescriptions filled so I decided to shop in the store part with my daughter. After about five minutes I asked my daughter if she needed to use the bathroom and she said she didn't need to then I decided since I had a 20 plus mile trip to go home that I should use the bathroom before trekking home. I asked the store clerk where the bathroom was and she told me the store/pharmacy did not have a public restroom but if I asked the pharmacist that they would probably take me to use the restroom so I asked the same woman I gave my daughter's prescriptions to a few minutes earlier and she told me to go through the door that led to the backroom. Once through the door she waited and told me the bathroom was around the corner and the 1st door to the right.

After 2-3 minutes I was done and while on the way out a woman started yelling at me for being in the back room. I told her someone in the pharmacy allowed me to use the restroom and knew that I was there. At that point from a distance I noticed the same woman that allowed me to use the restroom was looking while I was being yelled at by the other woman and then the yelling woman asked the woman that took me to use the restroom if she was back there with me the whole time. The woman that took me to use the bathroom nodded yes and then the yelling woman went back to yelling again.

I dropped the "F" bomb and said I wanted my daughter’s prescriptions back and that I would get them filled somewhere else. The woman at the pharmacy that took me to the bathroom gave my daughter’s prescriptions back to me and I said "I can't believe you treat your customers this way”, she did not speak to me and I proceeded to leave and let my daughter know what happened. As I left the store I passed the store clerk and asked her for a phone number to call Rite Aid’s corporate office to complain. She wrote down 1-800 Rite Aid. I then left the building with my daughter and while in my car calling Rite Aid management the Butler Township Police came and an officer went into the store and I told my daughter that I thought the woman that yelled at me probably called the police.

My daughter told me that if that were true I should tell my side of the story and what happened to the police. Sure enough a few minutes later I had to give the officer my driver’s license and my story, he went back into the building and after 10-15 minutes he gave me my driver’s license and said that I was free to go. I decided to stop at a Rite Aid in Slippery Rock which was between the Butler and Grove City locations. I told the pharmacist at the Slippery Rock store what had happened at the Butler store and said I did not feel good. He took my blood pressure and it was very high, he recommended that I go to the Grove City hospital emergency room or seek medical attention elsewhere… What a nightmare!!!! I should ask people how they are treated at other pharmacies like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. I don't think I'll ever forget that Butler Rite Aid experience.

I find out it is because this is the first time they ran it through my insurance! Second one could not be filled for unknown reasons. Tech told me to go elsewhere if I was that 'needy'. I asked for Manager to call me. She did, but I was unable to accept the call when she called. I went back today to get the last of my Rx's filled and the manager was there. Leslie, was rude and stated she just got there and did not need to be dumped on. She has tried to call me the day before, but I did not answer, and she did not have any idea who I was. She just got back from a 2 week vacation. I advised if I was that much trouble I would take my business elsewhere and she said that was a good idea. DONE!

I went to the front of the store for another purchase while Leslie, the manager, dispensed 6 pills as the Rx the previous staff was supposed to order, had not been ordered. When I returned to pick up my pills, after she paged me, she reminded me that the 'girl at the front was not over her'. I stated has another purchase, but she just said 'whatever'. I collected my pills and was walking away, when Leslie, the manager, laughed and joked about me with the next customer in the line. I found this to be totally unprofessional, and demeaning. The staff and their manager are not people I trust with my medications, nor my health concerns. I will NOT be returning and will have my Rx's transferred to another store from a competitor's pharmacy. This is not how loyal customers should be treated. Shame on you all for allowing it.

So when I return to pick up the meds. he states it could not be filled till Friday, but yet before tells me to return in a hour and a half then proceeds to argue with me when I'm there that he did not tell me hour and a half. He argued that for about 5 minutes then walk away when I asked for his manager. My point is I understand customer service is not a easy job. But if you can't handle working with public it's time to change your career. I really hope this issue is taken care of.P. S. I took the prescription to another pharmacy with better customer service. Thank you.

This RiteAid is horrible! I have had nothing but problems from both management, a woman named Shirley to be exact and the pharmacist. I've wasted valuable time being lied to and totally inconvenienced on several occasions and I have had enough. I would write in extent about my experiences but it would take me all day. What I can assure you is that you would be much better off going across the street to CVS. This location cares nothing about its customers and has no problem judging or assuming who you are without actually knowing you. It's embarrassing and downright humiliating. I am truly sorry I ever gave this store a chance after the first few incidents. I would save yourself the activation. No one deserves to be treated as poorly as they have the ability to make you feel. Flawlessly.

The last few times I've come in he tells me they don't have the medication in stock. The same thing happened today, except this time I asked if he could look to see if other pharmacies had the medication. He said no.

Since going to this pharmacy anytime they are out of a medication other pharmacists tell me when the expect to get the medication and they locate other Rite Aids that do have the medication so I'm not driving all over the place. Furthermore, they give this information without me even having to ask. I'm not sure what this particular pharmacist problem is, but I feel he is rude and his tone when he speaks is as if I'm an addict or something. The pharmacy is great, but one person is going to ruin it for all those that are doing their job with courtesy.

Today I went to the store to make two purchases for my well-being. I had an emergency and had to use the men's room. I waited for 3 to 5 minutes outside the locked mens rm. door (thinking someone was in there). I finally asked one of the very few workers if I needed a buzz or a key, something... she said "Yes, it's up front." Did I say emergency??? I had to walk at least 30 yards to get a key for my problem... I am 80 years old and every #1 or #2 needs expeditious caring for.

WELL, WHEN I WENT INSIDE I ALMOST SOILED MY SHORTS AND NEARLY VOMITED!!! IT WAS FILTHY TO SAY THE LEAST. Crap on the seat, wall, and the dirty lye stain on the toilet wall hadn't seen a brush in months... maybe years. The damn floor was scummy dirty, not something I want my trouser cuff to be laying in... I have never complained about sanitary conditions before but being a business that promoted cleanliness and health... this Rite-Aid store SUCKED. I am sincerely considering moving over to CVS.

BTW I did complain to manager up front as I returned the mens rm key (a damn joke to think a key was necessary to experience this or keep people away). In two days I am returning to this RiteAid to see if they made any improvements in the conditions... If nothing is done, I will write a lengthy letter w/ pixs to the Penna. Board of Health. Thank you you rich SOB's for allowing me to feel miserable all this day. I can't count all the RX's I had purchased there... I am retired disabled military and it hurts me to know that I had to resort to this action, it never would have happened in "the Corps." Thank you...

I recently switched insurance companies and wasn't sure if my new insurance had a contract with Walmart pharmacies, which I'd been using before the switch, so when the nurse asked me which pharmacy I wanted them to send my refills prescriptions to I told them to fax them to RiteAid since I knew my new insurance was accepted by them.

I've been fighting for two weeks now to get my pain meds filled all because the pharmacist had two "major" problems: 1) They didn't want to fill it since I had previously been going to Walmart pharmacy and I even told them the reason I switched was because I was unsure whether Walmart accepted my new insurance or not and knew that RiteAid did and I tried getting this fixed with my pain management office and I've called their office at least 20 times now trying to understand what the problem is and why they're making me suffer and 2) The pharmacist saw that besides my pain patches I am also prescribed **, which he said he didn't feel comfortable filling the patches if I am also taking **, but the ** is for breakthrough pain and is nowhere near comparable in pain relief as the patches are and so I have been fighting tooth and nail to get my patches filled as that is the main source for my pain relief.

I have been suffering through terrible withdrawals and haven't slept more than an hour here and there. I am EXTREMELY pissed off that pharmacists are overruling the decisions of what doctors are prescribing to their patients just because "they don't feel comfortable with it." This is highly unethical and unacceptable for patients with chronic pain and is a violation of the Hippocratic oath when it states, "At first, do no harm," and it is causing me immense harm by not only suffering with excruciating pain due to failed back surgery and Fibromyalgia but also suffering the withdrawals from a medication I've been on for almost 10 years now! It is irresponsible to cut a patient off of something so strong without tapering as it is extremely dangerous and can be fatal, so he should be more worried of my dying because I have NOTHING else to help me!!! After I went through the difficulty (and it was difficult) of transferring the rx from another pharmacy I was miraculously told I could only have it filled for 21 days. I remained with them simply because of the difficulty transferring it.

A pharmacist at a RiteAid drug store contacted one of my doctors offices and reported that I had purchased alcohol at the drug store where they worked. As a result of this action by this pharmacist, the doctor that this was reported to, in turn contacted other physicians with this information and these doctors have denied my future medications as well.

The action of this call from the pharmacist to the doctor's office has spread through my medical records and cannot be erased. I received a notice by letter of mail from the first doctor contacted (by the pharmacist) stating and all future appointments were cancelled and my medications would no longer be refilled and to seek other medical care. I actually had an appointment with this doctor scheduled the following day that I received the letter so I went to the appointment to discuss this with the doctor.

I was informed by the staff that the doctor would not see me anymore and that the RiteAid pharmacy had reported me for purchasing alcohol. (What.) I was totally speechless by this. I then went to the Rite Aid store and requested a consultation at the pharmacy. When the pharmacist entered the room, I told what the staff at the doctors office had told me. To my surprise, the pharmacist then admitted that they were the one that made the phone call but did not realize that the doctor would take this kind of action against me.

I then asked what prompted this and the reply was that it was related to the medicine I was being prescribed. There was no label on this medicine bottle stating (DO NOT consume alcohol or-----). So, I am way more over 21 and alcohol is not an illegal product, so why did this happen? Why does Rite Aid sell alcohol if they are going to use this against you? What if diabetic purchased candy? What if a person using nicotine patches purchased tobacco? Are all of these customers going to be reported to their doctors? I feel this is a severe violation of personal privacy.

In conversation with other people sharing this incident, there was a person that knew a pharmacy tech that worked at this RiteAid pharmacy. This tech asked the pharmacist about this and the reply was that another tech saw me purchase the alcohol and reported it, that was the response back to tech from the pharmacist so I was told. So, is the pharmacist saying they did not actually see me buy the alcohol? Are they acting on another person's information?

Another RiteAid employee confused about this gave me the contact information of the regional manager. I called this manager and shared this information, I was told that it would be looked into and they would contact me with a follow up. I waited a week and called again only to get their voice mail, then another, then another and so on.

This continued for several weeks. Finally, after weeks a call was answered and I was told that the pharmacist acted with proper procedure. I was not satisfied with this answer so I have written 2 privacy complaints forms to RiteAid at their main office in Harrisburg PA only to get No response back from either complaint letter. Maybe Rite Aid does not want to address this issue or are they ignoring this incident? Maybe the mail is not getting to the correct source.

I am sharing this experience with you because your drug store may not be the best place to purchase certain products even if they are on sale. Someone seeing you, or someone's hearsay, or in some manner just about everywhere you go you are most likely being watched and it could possibly cause you some inconvenience. Thank you for allowing me to submit this incident. Respectfully submitted.
