This has been my pharmacy and store for 16 years and the people are wonderful and knowledgeable. There have been some changes in pharmacists but not in their quality of care of customers. They are always willing to answer questions and if they don't know they find out.

They're friendly and knowledgeable. It be better if the store was open 24 hours but I understand that it's not and why it's not in that location. So overall a good experience all the way around. It might be good too if I actually used their rewards program.

My RiteAid pharmacy is fast and efficient and they make it a point to get to know everyone's name... even though they only see me in the drive-thru. On the rare occasion I enter the store, it is always clean and organized. Plus, the staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

A great place to get your prescriptions, friendly staff and always try and make the wait as short as possible. I really like the pharmacist at this location as he is always ready to help, even jumps in when the line is getting long. Never have had a prescription filled wrong and they have great deals on other over the counter items also.

I recently switched insurance companies and wasn't sure if my new insurance had a contract with Walmart pharmacies, which I'd been using before the switch, so when the nurse asked me which pharmacy I wanted them to send my refills prescriptions to I told them to fax them to RiteAid since I knew my new insurance was accepted by them.
I've been fighting for two weeks now to get my pain meds filled all because the pharmacist had two "major" problems: 1) They didn't want to fill it since I had previously been going to Walmart pharmacy and I even told them the reason I switched was because I was unsure whether Walmart accepted my new insurance or not and knew that RiteAid did and I tried getting this fixed with my pain management office and I've called their office at least 20 times now trying to understand what the problem is and why they're making me suffer and 2) The pharmacist saw that besides my pain patches I am also prescribed **, which he said he didn't feel comfortable filling the patches if I am also taking **, but the ** is for breakthrough pain and is nowhere near comparable in pain relief as the patches are and so I have been fighting tooth and nail to get my patches filled as that is the main source for my pain relief.
I have been suffering through terrible withdrawals and haven't slept more than an hour here and there. I am EXTREMELY pissed off that pharmacists are overruling the decisions of what doctors are prescribing to their patients just because "they don't feel comfortable with it." This is highly unethical and unacceptable for patients with chronic pain and is a violation of the Hippocratic oath when it states, "At first, do no harm," and it is causing me immense harm by not only suffering with excruciating pain due to failed back surgery and Fibromyalgia but also suffering the withdrawals from a medication I've been on for almost 10 years now! It is irresponsible to cut a patient off of something so strong without tapering as it is extremely dangerous and can be fatal, so he should be more worried of my dying because I have NOTHING else to help me!!! RiteAid pharmacists are **!!!

Everyone I've been exposed is helpful and willing to provide assistance. You can usually hear "can I help you" or when there's long line of customers employees say "Open up. Done in under 5 minutes". Pharmacists are very professional and even know what aisles items are in and instruct techs to show customers. I'm very pleased with RiteAid.

No reward program for RX - Despite heavy volume from closed independent pharmacy. Space is also very limited for the increased volume, including a drive-in. There usually are four pharmacists, they answer my occasional question thoroughly. Plus, employees are knowledgeable and courteous. Phoning a refill is done in automated manner and very efficiently. Phone access is easy and responsiveness is professional.

The pharmacy staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but at times overwhelmed by customers and phone calls. There need to be more people working behind the counter. Generally, I don't know why we can't have pharmacies like in Germany. You walk in with a prescription and have it filled immediately. If they don't have it in stock in the morning, they'll have it in the afternoon, or sometimes deliver it to your house.

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They make you feel like your health is important to them. I ran out of a blood pressure med that I had been taking for a while and the pharmacy gave me a 3 day fill on until my Dr was available to refill the order, making sure that there was no time I had to be without medication.

I have done business in Canal Fulton, Ohio with this pharmacy twice. The first time I called and specifically asked if my rx could be filled for 30 days rather than 21. I was assured that would not be a problem as long as it was going to be an ongoing medication. After I went through the difficulty (and it was difficult) of transferring the rx from another pharmacy I was miraculously told I could only have it filled for 21 days. I remained with them simply because of the difficulty transferring it.
Today I called with a rx for my dog. I was quoted a price of $13.75. I repeated the price back to them TWICE and was told that was a correct quote. Lo and behold my husband picked up the meds and he was charged $22.09. When I called the pharmacy I was told they never gave me the price quote of $13.75. After I raised a fit they agreed to reimburse the difference. Needless to say I have transferred my meds to a completely different pharmacy. A pharmacist at a RiteAid drug store contacted one of my doctors offices and reported that I had purchased alcohol at the drug store where they worked. As a result of this action by this pharmacist, the doctor that this was reported to, in turn contacted other physicians with this information and these doctors have denied my future medications as well.
The action of this call from the pharmacist to the doctor's office has spread through my medical records and cannot be erased. I received a notice by letter of mail from the first doctor contacted (by the pharmacist) stating and all future appointments were cancelled and my medications would no longer be refilled and to seek other medical care. I actually had an appointment with this doctor scheduled the following day that I received the letter so I went to the appointment to discuss this with the doctor.
I was informed by the staff that the doctor would not see me anymore and that the RiteAid pharmacy had reported me for purchasing alcohol. (What.) I was totally speechless by this. I then went to the Rite Aid store and requested a consultation at the pharmacy. When the pharmacist entered the room, I told what the staff at the doctors office had told me. To my surprise, the pharmacist then admitted that they were the one that made the phone call but did not realize that the doctor would take this kind of action against me.
I then asked what prompted this and the reply was that it was related to the medicine I was being prescribed. There was no label on this medicine bottle stating (DO NOT consume alcohol or-----). So, I am way more over 21 and alcohol is not an illegal product, so why did this happen? Why does Rite Aid sell alcohol if they are going to use this against you? What if diabetic purchased candy? What if a person using nicotine patches purchased tobacco? Are all of these customers going to be reported to their doctors? I feel this is a severe violation of personal privacy.
In conversation with other people sharing this incident, there was a person that knew a pharmacy tech that worked at this RiteAid pharmacy. This tech asked the pharmacist about this and the reply was that another tech saw me purchase the alcohol and reported it, that was the response back to tech from the pharmacist so I was told. So, is the pharmacist saying they did not actually see me buy the alcohol? Are they acting on another person's information?
Another RiteAid employee confused about this gave me the contact information of the regional manager. I called this manager and shared this information, I was told that it would be looked into and they would contact me with a follow up. I waited a week and called again only to get their voice mail, then another, then another and so on.
This continued for several weeks. Finally, after weeks a call was answered and I was told that the pharmacist acted with proper procedure. I was not satisfied with this answer so I have written 2 privacy complaints forms to RiteAid at their main office in Harrisburg PA only to get No response back from either complaint letter. Maybe Rite Aid does not want to address this issue or are they ignoring this incident? Maybe the mail is not getting to the correct source.
I am sharing this experience with you because your drug store may not be the best place to purchase certain products even if they are on sale. Someone seeing you, or someone's hearsay, or in some manner just about everywhere you go you are most likely being watched and it could possibly cause you some inconvenience. Thank you for allowing me to submit this incident. Respectfully submitted.

The November 4th 2016/RiteAid Pharmacy Hoosick falls ny. I had a heart attack on the 4th, went to Albany med to have a stent put in the back of my heart. Some of this fault I blame on Albany med because they didn't call in 2 of the meds or so says RiteAid Pharmacy. Don't know the truth. Anyway I had a couple of med that need prior approval (I am disable on medicaid) but could not get until Monday. So I'm really pissed at Albany med for not sending me home with meds for the weekend.
So more or less RiteAid Pharmacy would not give me the meds I needed to live. Unreal. So I paid $145 for 2 weeks of 1 of the meds but could not afford one other at $350. The med that keeps your heart stent from clotting up and killing me. Also my wife was at RiteAid Pharmacy for 2 hrs fighting for my meds. I could not and would not ever do that to anyone. So all of this has made me very upset, something I'm not supposed to be. I will NEVER go back to RiteAid Pharmacy ever again. Heartless animals. RiteAid Pharmacy you suck and you're heartless **. RiteAid has adopted a policy of requiring EVERYBODY to provide proof of age when purchasing tobacco or liquor. While this may appear very civic minded to some, to others it appears to be ridiculous 7 childish on its very face. I, as a 85-year-old adult with very gray hair (what's left of it) find the policy to be misguided & illogical. The result is, I refuse to shop at any store that is operated by folks with such convoluted thinking.
I understand there is a movement of folks who are as put off as I am, who spend hours filling their baskets & carts with frozen & refrigerated items and at least one tobacco or liquor item & then refuse payment on the lot at the check stand when the clerk demands proof of age. As a result the store personnel is required to replace all the items that have not already spoiled. Of course this is but a temporary solution to a ridiculous policy. With such poor management leading this organization, they are sure to fold soon.

I suffer from a particular nasty disease that causes me severe chronic pain. I've been through the whole route with therapy and pain meds. Until this past July/August I was finally allowed to use the **. I dropped off a prescription for the ** in the morning at my local Rite Aid Pharmacy located in Ashland, MA. Initially there was no problem. Everything was done properly and I was told it would take about an hour to fill at which time I said I would stop back to pick it up. When I returned an hour later to pick up my prescription I was told by the pharmacy manager, a young girl with a very bad nasty attitude that I've experienced before, that I could not have this particular prescription.
When asked why she launched into a tirade of multiple confusing excuses and specified that there were certain procedures that had to be followed before I would be allowed to have this medication. I didn't understand because she would not elaborate properly, giving me conflicting information, and at one point she became belligerent and argumentative with me because I was questioning her about these procedures and then she declared in a loud voice in front of other customers that this medication could kill me, much to my utter embarrassment and humiliation. There was another pharmacist present further down the counter that saw and heard what was going on and looked right at me while this pharmacist was having her fit, and did absolutely nothing. She was obviously upset and displaying signs of severe stress about something, and I certainly gave her no cause or reason to behave the way she did.
She further alluded to me that this was a problem with my insurance, never mentioning that it was her that denied my prescription. Then she assured me that she would speak with my primary care physician that wrote the prescription to work out a solution so that I could have my pain medication. Several hours later the same day, I received a call from this particular pharmacist that my prescription was changed to **, and as I found out the next day that she herself was the one that demanded this change, despite the fact that it was on file with this particular pharmacy that I am not to have **, a medication that I am not suppose to be taking because it makes me sick and causes serious problems with my liver. She completely ignored that fact and couldn't have cared less, as long as she got her way, and that's all that mattered to her.
When I went in the next day and spoke with the same pharmacist, and made a comment about having to call my insurance to find out why they refused to allow the ** to be filled, it was then she said that she was the one that refused to fill the prescription. I asked her why, and she said that she claimed to be a doctor and didn't agree with my primary's choice of treatment, that in her assessment as my doctor I was not allowed to have this medication. I made it quite clear to her that she was not my doctor and that I was not her patient, and she stated very clearly to me that she considers everyone who comes in to her pharmacy as her patients. From there we continued to argue about who is my doctor and who isn't and who determines my course of treatment and medications.
I also told her that I was to be included and consulted with whenever there is any change or problem with any of my prescriptions as is my legal right, and she very snidely and rudely declared with a smug upturned nose that she did not need or would consult with me over such things, that she could do as she pleased. She again became belligerent and hostile towards me with a demented attitude and refused to acknowledge, much less observe, my legal rights as to my choice of doctors and treatments. She said that these were her rules. She was the doctor and did not have to consult with me over anything to do with my healthcare, treatments, and medications, and that there was nothing I could do about it and quite clearly intimated that if I didn't like I could go... ** myself.
I walked out of the store that day and never set foot in there again and never will. I complained bitterly to Rite Aid Corp. about her despicable behavior towards me, and they did absolutely nothing. I filed a complaint with the proper state agency that handles this kind of thing, as well as a number of other state agencies for all the good that did.
Basically, she behaved with seriously disturbed mental aberrations and treated me as if were the worst sort of scumbag that ever crawled out of worst sewer from the most horrible place on Earth, and for absolutely no rational reason. I can understand that a pharmacist can legally refuse to fill a prescription for good reason. But there was none here, and she was a miserable wretch to me because she enjoyed it. Because of what she did, it took another 5 days before I was able to get to another pharmacy. 5 days of being stuck in bed in misery and pain. No pharmacists should ever have the power or mental instability to cause that kind of suffering. I was finally able to get to another pharmacy with the same prescription and not a single problem.

I've been having problems from the the start and it was five years ago I began using Rite Aid Pharmacy for filling my medication because they were close by. They stopped communicating to me when my prescriptions are ready after a year of using them. Now I have missing medication from my bottle of pain pills. I get 90 a month. I got 56 filled yet they said they filled 90. I never in my life thought this would happen to me. I don't know what to do about it. Tried reporting to the sheriff's office but no one came out. Waited an hour and a half outside the Rite Aid.
I am crying right now because I don't know what to do about this. I have pain management and Rite Aid has more than once made it hard for me to manage this. I am disabled, have been my whole life. What is RiteAid's policy on lying and overcharge honest folks who ask for their "expert" advice. What really shocked me is that nearly every sign and promotion in the pharmacy says, "ask our expert advice." I think I. RiteAid is complete violation of their agreement with Medi-Cal by not filling patients prescriptions on time or in a timely manner, or at all. In other words, they broke the law and/or violated my civil rights. And the police are more than happy to come and arrest you for disturbing the peace when you raise your voice at the counter when all you're doing is trying to point out their mistake or mistakes. They don't want to hear that they did something wrong. Because they feel offended and would hate to admit that they were wrong.
In my situation, they entered the wrong payment approval code therefore I was denied my medication after calling Medi-Cal and obtaining my approval code and returning to the right. I tried to explain to them they entered the wrong approval code and that I had the right code with me, they asked me to leave. Called Medi-Cal again they said yes you're approved and then Medi-Cal asked me to give RiteAid another chance to fill the prescription because not to fill it would be in violation with the agreement that they have with Medi-Cal.
So I went there again and when I did, they call the police on me and refused to fill my medication a third time. After that I had to drive over 13 miles to the next pharmacy. I went to Walgreens with my prescription and approval code and they entered my information in their computer then told me are able to fill my prescription no problem and that everything was approved and that I was good to go and it will take about 30 minutes. Well 30 minutes later, I got my medication. I hear this a lot from other patients around the doctor's office and pharmacies, same problem exist throughout the RiteAid stores. I just think a class-action lawsuit to get these people to obey the law or pay every time when they violate the patient's rights. If anyone can help please feel free to contact me.

Thursday, Aug 25, looked online for the current week's ad, at the nearest RiteAid #02771. Found a seemingly great sale. 'Big Win' Paper towels/bogo, 8 ct. on sale $6.99 with card, which would yield 16 rolls. Sent my nephew. The manager could NOT find the ad in the circular. He also said, they did not have anymore. But he was quick to offer Viva/bogo at $12.79$4.80 at a whopping hike in price almost $5.00; he bought the substitute, without calling me. They got over with bait and switch. He gave my nephew a Raincheck with bogo for the Big Win. When my nephew got home I found the circular, it was there--on sale at $6.99. On July 5, 2016, I had my 30 day prescription for ** filled at the RiteAid Pharmacy in Conshohocken. On August 2, 2016, I received a new 30 day prescription for ** from my doctor and provided to said pharmacy at approximately 6:30 PM on that day. They informed me they would not be able to fill my prescription until August 4, 2016, which was 31 days after my prescription was filled on July 5. They cited their policy of not filling medications at high risk of abuse early. However, they denied me my legal right to obtain my prescription by 12:00 AM on August 4, 31 days after my July 5 prescription was filled, as their pharmacy does not open until 9:00 AM.
While I can appreciate their concern to help curb prescription drug abuse and reduce their liability, they are also increasing their liability by not giving customers access to their medications in a timely manner when they're legally entitled to have possession of them. My doctor's instructions were to take my medication when I woke up, which was before the pharmacy opened at 9:00 AM. Additionally, I would have had to use vacation time in order to have picked up the medication on August 4 prior to 6:00 PM. Last week I had it set up where my medicine was order and it made it to RiteAid. Instead of them sending it to the nurse they gave it away to some other person. I'm disabled and had to track down a pharmacy which could get it. ** 410 mg. I had to call 5 pharmacies until one said their supplier had it and I ordered it. What makes me mad is they had my medicine there which was ordered for me and they gave it away instead of sending it to my nurse which is what they've been doing a few years now. I'm a week past the date when I was supposed to get the shot. RiteAid said it's out of stock when I called which is ** because they had it there. Thank god Walgreens was able to help or I'd be on my way to hospital if I couldn't get it.

I've had two separate experiences where there were issues with my son's e-script. The first incident I had called about it, they wouldn't let me explain anything, kept cutting me off and treating me rudely. I contacted corporate, complained and did get a call back so I gave one more chance. Second incident - Checked on my son's prescriptions to see if they were both ready and they said they had only one. So I was in the middle of Dr office and pharmacy calls and the Drs office said they sent it and pharmacy said they didn't. When my Drs office called the pharmacy the person they were talking to hung up! There are plenty of pharmacies, I terminated RiteAid today!

At about 7:15 this evening I went to store #00160, on North Plank Road in Newburgh, New York with my husband and 3-year-old son. We had just left Big Lots (in the same plaza) and so we had a single white plastic shopping bag from Big Lots with four items in it - a toothbrush, cough drops, children's body wash, and cookie mix - if you must know. We went in to Rite Aid to purchase antacids, as I am pregnant and have been dealing with terrible heartburn at night. We picked Up a package of ** and made our way to the front of the store when I decided Airheads sounded like a great idea too (hey, pregnancy...). We walked to the front of the store, no Airheads at the checkout. We walked to the candy aisle and found my Airheads, and we were looking for gummy bears for my husband as we were approached by an older store associate named Karen. Karen said to us "I need to search your shopping bag." Sure, no problem.. We handed it over.
Then she asked for the receipt for the items, again we handed it over. Then she said "security told me they have you on camera stuffing candy in your bag." Meanwhile the bag containing four items and receipt for all four items is in her hand.. Then she told us that we must have "taken the items back out and put them on the shelf" and that we need to "leave the store." I have never dealt with somebody so RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. And to accuse two ADULTS of stealing candy, of all things?! We placed the ** and Airheads on a shelf and left the store. Upset (and humiliated!), I walked back in and approached Karen at the register and requested to speak with a store manager about the incident. First she said "I am the store manager" which then changed to "there is no store manager here." I asked her for a phone number to contact her supervisor to which she responded "1-800-RITE-AID."
Seconds later another associate (in plain clothes, with nothing identifying her as a Rite Aid associate) walked up, then Karen said "she is a store manager." This associates name was Karen. I asked Karen for the store manager's name, as well as the store's phone number. She gave me the store's phone number and after asked repeatedly, finally said the store manager's name is Karen. Meanwhile Karen is mocking me, accusing us still of stealing candy, and that she will "call the cops!" Well, Karen will be receiving a phone call from me tomorrow. The behavior of the associates is completely unacceptable - degrading, disrespectful, and demeaning. All because a pregnant lady needed **! I will never utilize a Rite Aid store again - I will be sure our prescriptions are sent elsewhere. And I will be sure everyone close to me does the same. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, but especially Karen of your Newburgh, NY North Plank Road store!

To make a long story short, I put up with the rude, abusive, judgmental, demeaning, dismissive incompetent arrogant RiteAid for years. Then one of their "people" called my daughter a liar to my face. Not one of them could ever give me a good reason or excuse for that kind of behavior. Do they think they are the only ones who work in an abusive environment? And that gives them the right to be abusive to sick people? I hate RiteAid. A new independent pharmacy opened nearby and I left RiteAid without saying goodbye. I would urge you to do the same. The scariest thing about them is they could kill you or your kids and lie about it.
Because I'm on pain medication, they seem to think they have the right (or it's their sacred mission) to treat me like vermin. My doctor is very strict but they somehow have the right to refuse to fill my script in the rudest possible way, to lie to me and my doc and I am supposed to smile and thank them. Before I fired RiteAid, I went to the new pharmacy and interviewed the owner and staff. They are so nice! I will never set foot in another RiteAid again.

Re: RITEAID Pharm. Montclair Village, Oakland, CA - at 44 yrs old, I've been going to RiteAid Pharmacy since they opened! I've never had a problem filling Rxs there, until this tag-team of pharmacist / pharmacy tech started their employment there. I've been taking ** (50mg) / ** for about 2 years due to multiple issues, which cause me pain. I requested a non-narcotic pain med. and my Dr. advised **. It worked for me, so we stuck with it. I don't get drowsy, don't feel groggy the next day, no euphoria, etc. when I take it. In July (2015) I had surgery for torn ligament in my knee. Post surgery, the orthopaedist prescribed 100mg extended release **, per my request for non-narcotic. ** is a synthetic narcotic, that does not sit on your pain receptors all day (which is a big factor in addiction), but instead move around on them (thus not staining the sensor with the memory of relief).
2 months after my surgery, I requested a refill on the 50mg ** I'd been taking prior to my surgery. I still had some of the 100mg extended release, but once I started back at work, I didn't take them due to not knowing when the subsequent 'releases' of meds would occur and how severe. For me the 100mgs were fine while lying down at home recovering. However they were too strong for my other ailments I took the 50mgs for. My Dr. refills the prescription. Calls me to tell me he did. I get to the pharmacy, and was told I could not pick up my prescription, because they put a hold on it until they talk to my primary care physician, as they wanted to confirm that he knew the Orthopedist / Surgeon prescribed me ** already (2 months prior / 30 pills!).
I had gotten flak from these two hyper-hormonal pharmacy workers. The pharm tech is delivering the news about the confirmation, then calls the pharmacist over, after I tell her that the mgs are different and the previous prescription is too strong, as they are for two different causes. As the pharmacist approaches, with blatant disregard, she and the pharm. tech, exchange looks of dismay. They treated me as if I were a junky on **... Really? My Dr. not delving into the situation, automatically cancelled the Rx. The pharmacist never acknowledged the fact that I was prescribed two different doses of meds, for two different reasons. They then went to interrogate me: "Why don't you just use the ones you already have?" "Don't you still have more of the other ones." I reply "They are too strong."
After the tech rolled her eyes in the air, and 20 minutes of trying to get these idiots to realize what they're putting me through for no reason, I walked out. But not before hearing the lady behind me pick up her ** at the same time! OMG. I'm **... The ** cocktail, was picked up by a middle-aged ** woman. After that drama, I refused to take anything on the DEA list, as I don't ever want to experience that trauma ever again in life.
I went to my Dr. a couple of days later. He just suggested I go to another pharmacy, as he was willing to fill the script elsewhere. He also called them to speak with the manager, who to my knowledge has never called him back (6 mos later). I get the whole controversy w/ scheduled drugs and the pain-pill abuse epidemic, but the degree of unprofessionalism with pharmacists and pharm techs. when dealing with it, is absurd. There definitely needs to be a class-action suit against RITEAID (across the nation).

I have been using the Auburn, Ca RiteAid store # 06042 on Hwy 49 for the last 45+ years, basically almost all my life as my parents used it before me. I know pretty much everyone in the store and pharmacy and since I'm not an agro type of person, and most are great people - I really like them! Except for one, a pharmacist's assistant (due to her name) she's referred to as "Violent" in our house. If you catch my drift.
Anyhow, I am a chronic pain sufferer. I am trying to keep that part short and sweet because my conditions are many, enough for me to be permanently disabled which means, I only get worse. I don't get better. Since this pain started roughly 15 yrs ago, and I am rather young, I don't look the "part" of a invalid, but rather I still am. But regardless of that, it's not something I should have to prove to RiteAid, right?
I'm also very afraid of venturing out of my house by myself. I usually need accompaniment. I feel a little OK in R.A. #06042 because I have been shopping there for so long but I don't like to interact with people nor do I like being away from my home. It takes a lot to get me to go out if I must. It's torture and it hurts, to boot. I also suffer from anxiety and hbp due to the stress of these things. If you looked at my med list at R.A. #06042, anyone should be able to figure out I have major issues, and just WHY I need certain meds. I not just a 1 med a month refiller, I have like 12.
Recently they have new pharmacists in the line-up. I think they are both rather nice even if I disagree with their policies because I pretty much lay the blame of ALL my issues onto Violent. She is interfering with my meds fills. Not all of the many pills I take, usually it's only with just the class 3 ones which is my pain meds: **.
I know she carries an issue or grudge because besides making getting the refill done once a mo., she likes to make snide remarks about them when I am trying to drop off or pick up such as "that stuff kills" or when I picked up my ** patches. I just saw a special on those (as she shakes her head). I just want to know since when did she become MY doctor? Once she even said to me, (as we were counting the days together to prove I was past 28 days) "Well no duh"... WHAT!? WHAT DID YOU SAY? I was just in shock at her snotty response. I mean this woman HAS to be in her late 60's - 70's, a good 30 yrs older than me and she acts like a child.
The biggest prob I have with her discrimination towards my pain meds is that, legally through the state it says I can refill my pills every 28 days. My Dr. appt. is every 28 days as well (where I pick up my script) from the Dr's. I drive to R.A. #06042, where for the past 10 yrs. since I've been able to pick them up after they have filled my script. Only within the past 6 mos. when Violent gets my script now, she makes some fuss and mentions/reminds the new pharmacists that it's too early, that it's only 28 or 29 days and I MUST WAIT THIRTY DAYS and that I should have extra pills at home.
Now what I have at home is none of their business. I could have a hoard of pills that I roll around in on my bed, but I am still legally filling able to fill this script as allowable under law. So she says, "Your doctor says these have to last thirty days", and "Well, yes, they are lasting 30 days however I do not want to come back here tomorrow, so please refill them today!" Again she says I should have extra so why do I need a refill and I really feel I should not have to go into how I don't (and sometimes can't due to my fears) want to have to leave my house tomorrow. She really should just fill the meds, nothing else is her business! Oh and for some reason they don't bother with the day counting when it comes to refilling my **? They've filled those early before and I didn't request it. Why the discrepancy? They are both class C drugs!
I have two more minor issues and another story to tell but my hands are now hurting (I have CTS and Arthritis as well) so just know this - My R.A. #06042 pharmacy likes to make their own rules, regardless of the LAW of the land. I guess they are their own little country with a crazy dictator.
PS - The day they refused to fill me (only 29 days!). I took my script and left, went to Walgreens and they filled then and there, on the 29th day. No questions about what I may or not have at home or how horrid my meds are. I don't like Walgreens as much as R.A. but I probably am going to take all my Rx's and switch them to Walgreens to prove my point. I don't really like Walgreen's store selections AND it is further away from my house. I am also going to miss all the nice employees, too. It is a shame that one evil wench must ruin it all.

Rite Aid continuously lies to its customers about the date my prescriptions are ready. I have been to 4 different Rite Aids in the NJ/PA area. I take a medication every month and as soon as the doctor writes my prescription, I take right away to the Rite Aid I am currently dealing with. But they continuously let me down. I AM TIRED OF THEIR LIES!!!

No compassion, no excuses to why my meds were late every single month. The most humiliating experience happen just last night. After telling them a day prior about a needed med, I was assure that they would call the doctor because they said they have to get an updated script. They even one time transferred my prescription to another RiteAid store without my permission. I notice how they interacted with other customers and it was never the way they interacted with me. I ask him, "Is there a LAW for raising my voice cause of the disrespectful treatment that I had put up with a whole year that I have to be detained?" Mind you he blocked my way of leaving the store initially. So we are approaching the back and sudden silence, comes over cop 2 and the 3 employees who are all **. Within the last few months I have gone to Rite Aid to fill my prescription of **. ** (for those unfamiliar) is a drug that helps break the opiate addiction people suffer from. ** is main drug used for this but due to the price I stay with **. My medicine has a reputation of being a drug exclusively used by drug addicts and for good reason. But, there are people who actually use this medicine to help them get over their crutch.
Rite Aid has purposely lied about carrying this medicine in the past few months. I would call ahead to make sure they carry it and they said yes. When I arrive with my prescription the pharmacist immediately tells me that they don't have the drug and don't know when they will get again. Mind you, I know many people who use the pharmacy to fill their own prescriptions. This seems to happen to many patients I know of. My doctor is extremely strict with his patients and if they abuse their medicine or lie about doing drugs they have a very short leash.
Rite Aid is turning away patients in need of medicine to help them stay clean from deadly drugs because the pharmacist may have personal vendetta against addicts in recovery. Great job Rite Aid. Your pharmacists are making a very useful drug extremely hard to get for the patient in need. You're not a part of the DEA, let the authorities handle the abuser and dealers. I strongly urge people to stay away from Rite Aid at all costs. CVS is a much better option even though they are very slow at times. And pharmacists, get over yourself. She has always seemed scared and uncomfortable when she is around me and some days she would not service my prescriptions at all! I tried to lighten up the mood and tried to make her laugh so I wanted her to get to know me better so she would not be uncomfortable! I invited her horseback riding so I could take picture of her to give to my movie agent to see if he would like her look! Although I did not tell her this in the beginning she became angry, annoyed and downright nasty like she was insulted that a ** male was trying to become her friend!
I informed her I did not want to date her but she likes to argue and have the last say! I told her why I wanted to become her friend to alleviate the racial tension I was feeling from her! She grew up in Beverly Hills and still lives there so I guess she did not grow up with much interaction of ** males! In fact I think she feels she is better than most races! She only runs to help young ** males that are attractive to her! One new one she adores since he is transgender has had one tell me with an attitude that "he will get my medicine when he gets to it!" I take over 15 medicines and ** and I do not need to be treated like this by anyone!
So about over a month ago I contacted corporate pharmacy department to complain about this 3 year racist treatment I have been experiencing! I have also a patron of Thrifty/RiteAid for 15 years before I started going to the Hollywood Store in the Rowland Heights area and my mother and I are still good friends with the Pharmacy and Pharmacy techs to this day! So I contacted Corporate and they contacted her District Manager who is Latino! He threaten me to be more professional and told me if I did not I would banned from the store! He did not really listen to my side of this matter! Then I told him I want to talk with the Regional Manager of the Pharmacy since he was talking to me like he was the Godfather and he had to protect his people! Moreover, he lied and said he phoned me 2 weeks before which he did not since I have a answer machine on my home phone!
So he gives me a cell phone number that does not return calls so I could not contact him! I track him down anyway and he is annoyed. I called across the country looking for him! So once I got to the Regional Level and talked to the Sr Regional Vice President I thought we came to a resolution. They talked to her but she still claimed she felt uncomfortable with the arrangement after I have continued to order my prescriptions for 2 weeks up to today. When I received a phone call from the Regional VP I was banned from coming into the store for life and a letter is coming to my residence stating I am banned! I think this is a miscarriage of justice since I am a longtime customer of this store! This is why we have the problems we have in this country today! All we needed to do was that both of us needed to sit down in a Arbitration Hearing to discuss the issues she had with me!
But now I want a Lawyer to sue RiteAid for their Racial Discrimination and Harassment! So if you know a Lawyer who will take my case do not hesitate to give them my details! Also I have had security guards follow me around the store like I am going to steal merchandise and when I check out I have had security guards stand over me like I am going to run out the door with the merchandise I am trying to buy! I have talked with other ** who have been followed around the store but they just became frustrated and vowed to never set foot back in the Hollywood RiteAid again! I do not need this treatment since I am medically disabled and I'll and I need a legal remedy from a competent lawyer who specializes in these discrimination matters! Hope to hear from someone soon!

I am echoing all those that said, they don't get the right prescription. My adult daughter needs a specific birth control prescription. Or else she goes ballistic. You really don't want to be around her. RiteAid said they could get it. She has renewed it with more than three days notice. Spoken to several supervisors telling them to put in their records it needs to be that specific brand. In the last year, I don't think they got it right once.
So, I mentioned I'd read where that drug store/pharmacy with the three capped letters, starting with C, said they will do all the work for transferring the prescriptions. She finally went, asked if they carried that specific brand. They produced a whole box. She changed both my and hers over. I wasn't sure I like that, since I did not go with her. But they said, if I produced a medical insurance card in my name, they had all the information! If not, after 30 days or something it would be wiped from their system. They did mention that we had to call for the first fill and then we could go on an automatic refill.
Now, just another note, I believe the "new" pharmacy when they call repeat the message for picking up the prescriptions. Therefore you get the name if you have an answering machine! Why is this important? Well we have three adults with auto refill prescriptions. So it's nice to know whose prescription they are calling about.
OH, the other day I was in RiteAid to get somebody's prescription and the employees were standing around talking, sitting down. This newer customer asked me how long I'd been waiting. I said about ten minutes. She waited five. Then she started screaming about the lack of help and with five people behind the counters at least someone could help those standing in line! I found it amusing, something I would have liked to have done, but couldn't exactly bring myself to do it. A store manager finally came over and helped solve the "lack of service problem".
I am so glad we switched. Okay, we have to drive - oh, not as far to the new pharmacy! Also if we're coming the other way, it's also on our way home!

I will never set foot in a RiteAid ever again. I was called a "stupid junkie" by the pharmacy tech at Walton and Livernois store when I was told to come back the next morning to fill my medication. And when I did, she literally yelled at me saying she told me it wouldn't be in until the afternoon. She told me the morning, "Excuse me". Then I tried to fill it at the Tienken store and the rude blonde pharmacist told me that MAPS had me flagged and said that she couldn't fill it. What? I am not flagged in MAPS. She was just annoyed because I was there when she opened the store and didn't want to fill it.
RITEAID PHARMACISTS - you need to understand what ** is folks. It's not a good time happy fun drug at all. It's an "I only need this medication to prevent myself from getting horribly sick" medication. Educate yourself - every time you refuse to fill **, there is a chance that you just killed someone or hurt a child indirectly. There's a chance that patient was sick of trying to be in recovery and doing the right thing but being treated like crap for it and they went out a relapsed when you turned them away. We are just trying to get our lives back on track, we aren't asking you for **, or buying supplies to make meth. We are trying to get BETTER.

I have been getting all my scripts at the same pharmacy for a good while now, and normally I do not get my meds early. However upon having a sever allergic reaction I ended up in severe pain so my doctor upped the dose and wrote a new script. My doctor and I then called the pharmacy to make sure this would go through. She said yes very clearly. I asked again "are you sure coz they close in 10 mins" and again was told yes. So I left drive to the pharmacy were they refuse to fill it because it wont clear the insurance. I called the insurance and found that to be a lie. Then they made up a fake FDA regulation, so I called the FDA. Another bloody lie.
Finally she said fine, have it sorted and ready tomorrow. Yet again another lie. In fact she wasn't even working and the pharmacist who was had the dosage relowed my doctor who hasn't been in the office. They are merely picking on me because they can and its left me with 3 yes 3 ER visits and a lot of anger and frustration. I would highly recommend people to stay far away from the RiteAid on Main Street in Pittston. They are morons who have no clue how to their jobs. They are a joke and a prefect example why RiteAid should stayed closed.

Rite Aid on Market Street, York, PA. - Cashier #**, 09/02/15, 12:24 P.M., still have receipt in my possession if needed. My complaint is-- I had foot surgery at 9:30 am, received a prescription from doctor. Went to RiteAid to get filled. {not my normal pharmacy}. Was told it would take 30 minutes. I sat down to wait and noticed a lot of bleeding from my foot outside the bandage. I asked the girl behind the counter if I could use the bathroom and was told it is not for customer use. I sat down again, about 10 minutes later I asked for a tissue or napkin to wipe the blood of my toes and open hospital shoe and was told that she didn't have anything behind the counter I could use. About 10 minutes later I received my prescription and left the store. I do believe only a few drops of blood got on your floor, but just 1 tissue could have prevented that from happening. My experience makes me very reluctant to ever use that pharmacy again. Thank you.

I had been filling ALL my medications at RiteAid. I have a spinal injury and fibromyalgia, which requires periodic pain medication. I brought in my written rx and handed it to the pharmacist. She immediately said "Oh we don't have that in stock." I replied that it was "Ok, I could hold out a day or so if needed." Her excuse then changed to "You have to fill your prescription within 10 miles of the doctor's office that wrote it." I have never heard of this new "state law" as she said it was. I live in a small town and my doctors office is 2 hours away. I have never heard of such a thing and upon calling the doctor's office and my insurance carrier, found this info to be false. RiteAid picks who they will fill medications for. I was discriminated against. They will no longer have my business. Very poor business practice.

"PLENTI" of abuse: My cousin in another day with a different cashier and I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE at the Rite Store #10317 in Burlington, VT on August 25, 2015 at 5:11 pm. A female cashier whose number on the ticket-receipt is #** clicked "yes" for switching to Plenti without asking me with HER FINGER, and she then quickly grabbed a Plenti card and scanned it. Told she that I did not want it and she insisted "oh, we have to upgrade." Again: She had no right making a decision for me during my credit card transaction and putting her hands on that terminal without my consent.
I complained to the manager and while I was doing so I noticed they were mistreating a homeless person. I ask compassion for that person and went back to talk about the unrequested "Plenti" card, instead they then threaten to ban me from the store!! I spoke to my cousin who is a lawyer and say that all of the above with the Plenti card and the treatment is more than enough to start a Class Action Lawsuit. I prefer to talk first, friendly without lawyers. I want to be put back into my wellness card and any ban or threats revoked! Can someone at Rite save this company and help me in the process?? They have information for my prescriptions, I shop there for makeup, it is just the go to store because of the location on white plains rd near my area. But after Saturday, I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP AT ANY RITE AID FRANCHISE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!
I parked my car in the parking lot. I walked in and went straight to the back to school section. There was definitely no SALE because those bookbags are overpriced for a back to sale right now. I saw the price and left. I walked into another store nearby to pick up what I had to pick up. The longest I took was 15 mins and RITE AID PHARMACY TRIED TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED! I had to pay $136.09 so they did not take my car all the way to the pound. I am a single hard working mother and I was devastated. I could not believe the store that I shop at almost every single day tried to tow my car. They have a huge problem with people in the building across the street always parking in their lot. But they are not rite aid customers. I am a regular rite aid customer. So I read the sign it said they have the right to tow after the car has been there for 24 hours.. The problem is I was there for 15 mins.
I took a picture of the sign, which as DISHONEST as they could be. REMOVED the sign after the situation with me. So why take down the sign? How can you tow someone's car in 15 mins! I understand I didn't purchase anything, make your prices better so your competitors don't beat you out. But NOWHERE on that sign says it is mandatory to purchase something. I walked inside to speak to the manager and his rude, nonchalant, I don't care attitude is what I will never respect.
I have told my family, I have also told my friends and we are all in agreement that NONE of us will be shopping at Rite Aid again! I spend wayyy more than $150 in Rite Aid all the time but after this review I will no problems writing another one until Corporate figures out what is happening in their buildings. I've used RiteAid for a while and recently have started moving my prescriptions elsewhere, the reasons are as follows: The store in Everett was very good and the local main store is very good, but the local pharmacy staff brings the score down and has lost my business. I'm sure they are not billing correctly as my copay portion has gone up, more than before and more than my current pharmacy.
Yesterday when I picked up my prescription the gentleman that waited on me was polite and efficient, but 2 of the girls that usually take care of me really treat you like you are below them or not worthy of their time. And this was every time I went there 3 to 4 times a month. Really a shame, because the main store employees are so very nice and very helpful. They need to do some training in customer service, especially since they are working in an area where their customers are sick or down and could really use a boost to their spirit. But we have moved on.

One month ago, myself and wife went to put in 2 prescriptions for pain from my Florida doctor. Today I go pick it up, was told by the same pharmacist that was unprofessional the other time, that the prescription had expired. Really? I still have the text. I'm in pain due to cancer! She said contact my doctor for new prescription or find a doctor here in NY, unprofessional. She said she couldn't fill the FL prescription, it's illegal. I stated you have done it before. I had taken my grandchildren with me to Beaufort, NC for the weekend. On Saturday, April 11, my 14-year old fell 18 feet, resulting in a very bad break and subsequent surgery at Cateret Hospital in Morehead City, NC. The physician agreed to release my grandchild after the surgery, as long as we didn't try to travel back home - which is 4 1/2 hours away. My grandson was released at 8:35 PM, and I was given a prescription for pain meds to help get him through the night, and so I could get him back home in some degree of comfort on Sunday.
I arrived at the Rite-Aid pharmacy in Morehead City at 8:57 PM, and was in the door at 8:58 PM. I ran back to the pharmacy, and could see, as I was running back, that the employees were standing there talking, and had their coats on - apparently waiting for the clock. I got to the counter, and I asked the man standing there if he could please help me by filling the prescription. He looked at me for a moment, and then he stated that he couldn't help me, because they were getting readying to close. I told him the situation - I explained to him that my grandson had just been released from the hospital after surgery - I couldn't drive 4 1/2 hours back home - I told him that we needed this prescription to help get him through the night so we could get him back home - and again, he stated that they were getting ready to close.
I asked him if there was any place I could go to get the medication, and he stated that I could drive to New Bern if I wanted to get the prescription. New Bern is a 1 hour drive from Morehead City, and I couldn't drive my grandson that far because of the pain he was in. The pharmacist then looked at the script, and stated again that he couldn't help me, and that he didn't want to rush and make a mistake. At that point, I was in tears, so I left without saying anything else. As a result, my grandson did not have the medication he needed, and had a very, very difficult night.
I have worked in customer service my entire life, and I am sorry to say, but customer service was "non-existent" with this pharmacist. I was in the store before 9:00 PM - and as long as I was in the store and back at the pharmacy counter before 9:00, someone should have been willing to help me - especially under the circumstances. Regarding the comment about not wanting to make a mistake - I can understand a pharmacist not wanting to make a mistake with a medication - but all he had to do was take a few minutes, pay attention, and fill the prescription for a patient that was in need. Again, I was there before 9:00 PM. I have worked in a hospital for 25 years, I know what customer service is, and I know what customer service is not. I feel that this pharmacist represented Rite Aid in a very, very poor manner.

No apology - nothing. Well this time, not my last prescription but the one before that said I had refills and that 100 + units remained. I am always ahead because I take as little as possible. I called in my refill and got home and saw that they only gave me 15 units in which I take one and a half daily, so only gave me a week's worth and the bottle said no refills. This does not make sense.
I called and spoke to the very rude female pharmacist and she refused to even look up on the computer what happened to the extra units I had. So, my Dr. had to call in a refill on a Saturday and then they say they want prior authorization in which the Dr. could not even get on a Saturday. My Dr. also realized there was some missing prescription that they did not even have logged the past prescription I had turned in. This is RiteAid in Toledo Ohio on Reynolds and Dorr street. This woman pharmacist said, "Well because it is ** and the type of people that are on that med, we can't ok any ahead of time because we have people that don't bother to come back and pick it up."
SO, not only have they misplaced a lot of my medicine and been very rude to me but now she is basically saying I am some low life druggy that they refuse to trust. Pissed? I am 100% positive my next to last refill said I have over 100 units remaining and then I got only 15 after that. Where is the rest?
Something very WRONG is going on there and they refused to even try to find out. UNREAL. I said, "Well you just lost a customer," and she said she was fine with that. Very professional. I even asked what is the difference between these and was told there is no difference. This was in May (if I remember correctly) and it wasn't until September when a major life event made me stop and take stock of how I was feeling and take a double look at all of my prescriptions. I was having really awful ringing in my ears, headaches, abdominal pain, blurred vision, nausea, steady weight gain, lack of focus, confusion and memory problems.
When I looked at all of my prescriptions I took note of the box of **. I saw the pharmacy sticker on the top of the box that stated "no NutraSweet" just like my doctor ordered and I looked at the box to see a NutraSweet logo. I called the RiteAid that dispensed this medication to alert them of this problem. When I spoke to a person at the store they apologized profusely and offered to refill my prescription. When I protested that shouldn't have to pay my copay I was told I would get a call back regarding that. While I waited I looked online at my insurance's website to see how long this incorrect medication had been given to me to find it went back months.
When I received the call back I was told the copay was waived for this refill because of their mistake. When I stated that this mistake had gone on for a long time they offered me a $15 gift card. I took the gift card but have not entered a RiteAid since to spend it. I have moved all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy and even when it has been more convenient to stop at RiteAid I kept driving to any other available store and I can say to anyone I know they should do the same.

I see that a conversation about this started all the way back in 2013, so I'm going to start another one. I just looked at my receipt from two days ago - I had purchased two items. There is a third charge on my bill, for a "Kidcents Contribution." I was never given an option to opt in or out on the keypad, and the cashier never even mentioned it. It's not about the money, Rite Aid, it's about ripping people off. It may be a charity, but charitable contributions are VOLUNTARY.
Since people started complaining about this in 2013, I can only assume that you are aware, but have chosen not to fix this issue, and will happily continue to take advantage of your customers and overcharge them without their knowledge or permission. Underhanded, and probably illegal. And again, it's not about the charity and has nothing to do with whether or not we would contribute if given the option.

I moved here to South Gate from NJ and brought with me many prescriptions, of course from a pharmacy in NJ. This RiteAid refused to refill 2 out of 3 prescriptions I still had refills on. The explanation is simply they won't refill them. WTH?? One was for ** and the other **, they refilled the ** though. I have 4 herniated slipped discs in my lower spinal column, neuropathy, amongst other things. The pill bottles label states they can be refill through 2017. They hire young girls in that pharmacy who don't know anything from anything else so I don't even bother asking anything because it's no use.
They have had my prescriptions since last THURSDAY and didn't bother with any of them till tonight at 5pm. It is not like I tried to refill my **! TG I was resourceful enough with that to not take the recommended dose of 4 tabs a day for my extreme pain and could save up enough to have once I moved here in case I couldn't find a doctor right away, WHICH has been the case for 2 months now! So I guess I am supposed to go with numb hands 24/7 until March 18th when I can get into the clinic so THEY can refer me to some pain management doctor who can see me God knows when!

Pharmacy techs lie to you, treat you like an idiot, yet the whole time THEY'RE wrong. 2 days early isn't the day I run out, why is that so difficult to understand? They override computer refill dates saying you're "too early" because you filled it on this day last month so 30 days would be the same date THIS month. No, some months have 31 days, and the day I dropped it off counts too, so that means you either start giving me 32 days worth of meds or start counting with your fingers. So if you request a refill too soon, you're labeled a drug dealer or a junkie, but if you request on time then you get your meds late.
What a wonderful system when people like them are in control of your health. A LOT of medications can cause serious withdrawal symptoms, not just pain meds, but anti-depressants too. Then there are some that can lead to death, these are common meds but they still can go days without stocking them. Techs need to either do what the computer says or go through more training if they're going to cause me to go days without sleep because they think there are 30 days in a month and no one has to be anywhere until noon the day AFTER you run out when you may not be able to get your meds anyways because of the grand mal seizure you just had. Good job Redlands Rite Aid, you're at least consistent I can at least rely on you to always be wrong.

Rite aid claims to have an open door policy and a no retaliation policy. They do not honor either of these. They let me (former employee) be harassed for nearly a year. When I took the issue to management, I was retaliated against many times. Not only did I talk to store managers, district managers, but human resources as well. I left to go on a medical leave for 30 days. Before my 30 days were up, I attempted to go back to work. I was told they no longer had me on the schedule! I was to call the district office. When I did, no one helped me. They beat around the bush until I was automatically terminated. When I tried to apply for unemployment, they claim they hadn't heard from me or seen me since I left for leave.
When I applied for other positions I was over qualified for, I was denied. The reason for this is because I stood up for myself and the way I was being treated. Instead of moving me to a different store to solve the issues of another employee harassing me every single day. They wanted me fired. This company has no honor, does not abide by their own policies, and retaliates against anyone who goes against the grain. If I had been smart, I would have written down everything that happened, every conversation with HR, store management, union, district office and other employees. I would have taken them to court, sued them, and kept my job. But I did not. Instead, I now have to battle for unemployment, which is rightly mine.
They claim I made attempt to go back to work, and when they came to court, they pick and choose what evidence they wish to show. It went from "no one heard from her again" to "I did not hear from her personally" and false emails from district office to store manager, claiming they attempted to get a hold of me. No one did. They lied, harassed me, and discriminated against me simply because I wanted to be treated fairly and with respect. This will be a life experience I will never forget. I advise anyone wishing to work for or currently working for rite aid, to write down and log every single thing, from missed days, being late, and conversations with other employees. They will not honor their policies. And you cannot count on Union.

If you're a cashier, you have to have a manager's approval to even be able to view your own pay stubs, so half the store knows what you're making. Work schedules weren't issued until Sat., so nobody knew which days and what time you were supposed to be there. You could forget about trying to make any plans or have a normal life. District Managers were always egotistical, obnoxious and completely oblivious as to what each store needed. Also, they never provided us with working equipment to be able to help customers.
Rite Aid is just as frustrating for the customers too. Photo center and money order machines are never working properly, due to lazy technicians. Warehouse is worthless, when it comes to delivering bulk sale items shown in the weekly ad. Some prescriptions couldn't be filled until a week later! Parking lots never cleared off in the winter, due to the snow plower man being hungover. Actually most of Rite Aid's friendly, long term customers have given up and gone somewhere else. Now it's mostly just thieves and scam artists digging old receipts out of the front trash can on a regular basis. Stores are now required to have the dumpsters locked, because people are snorting the leftover powder out of pill vials!!

I went into rite aid two Sundays ago to fill a new prescription. My son was just prescribed for his ADHD and a prescription for his father for the same thing. We went inside to the pharmacy and they told us to come back in 2 hours, which I thought was an unusually long wait time, but it was a Sunday, so we dropped off the prescriptions and left. Upon arrival two hours later, they had us show the insurance cards and sign for the medicines and then we paid and left. They didn't give us any information on the medicine, especially since it was the first time our son had been prescribed it. I asked to that to the pharmacist and their tech said it would be about an hour. We decided not to wait, as the doctor that prescribed it to our son had filled us in a little, but I wanted to make sure she didn't leave anything out. We got home and I gave him his first pill, Monday morning at 8am as it said to do on the bottle.
I noticed that instead of focusing better and improved attention span, he was acting like he was high on cocaine. Making odd movements with his tongue, heavy breathing, increased energy, nonstop talking, and he couldn't sit still. I work as a counselor in drug and alcohol rehabilitation so I know how he was acting was not right. I called the pharmacy and they said it was his first time and it would take getting used to. It went on this way for 4 days, on the 5th day, while I was at work, I saw 1 missed call from the pharmacy and then 5 missed calls from our prescribing doctor. I ran outside as I figured it may be an emergency and it WAS! The pharmacy messed up my son's medication. He was prescribed 10mg pills and instead they gave him 20mg pills!!!
And not only did they make such a horrible and possibly dangerous mistake, but they failed to notice for almost a week, even when I called them to make sure everything was correct as my son was acting hyped up and very strange. They didn't even apologize, just told us to cut the pills in half! I'm disgusted and will be contacting a lawyer. They knew it was for a child and should have double checked. I wouldn't be so upset if they made any effort to check earlier, contact us immediately, and at least apologize. I am 64 years old purchasing cigarettes at RiteAid in Abington PA when a very young man behind the counter asked me for my driver's license. I asked him why and he said it's RiteAid's policy. I then asked what are they looking for, my age? He said, basically "yes". I showed him my license but felt intruded upon. I can understand if someone looks young close to 21 but he told me the age requirement is 18. So I'm old enough to be his grandfather. I've gone into the same store numerous times with other clerks and was never asked before. What's the point RiteAid, it's annoying.

My doctor faxed my prescriptions to Rite Aid, and I would have to wait an hour, then go wait in drive through. When I got to window, they told me they did not get them. I would call doctor, and they confirmed the location and read their fax confirmation number. I went back to Rite Aid and they said they still had not received it . At that time the doctor's office was closed so I went home. Half way home, they called and told me they found it.
This occurred three times in a row. The third time I was so tired and irritated. I told the pharmacist, "Why does this happen every time for the last three times in a row?" They told me they will no longer serve me. I wasn't sure I heard the guy, so I went inside and asked calmly, "Did you say you would no longer serve me?" He said, "Yes." I said, "You screw up my order three times in a row, no apologies, and I get treated like I did something wrong by bringing the error to your attention." He said I was rude and was no longer welcome there. I said, "Great customer service, buddy," and walked out.

Recently, Rite-Aid started requiring proof of age from all customers buying alcohol, not just customers who might conceivably be under 21. Being 63, I refused to provide proof of age and was denied service. I wrote to Rite-Aid to complain and got an irritating piece of self-serving boilerplate back. So I have decided to protest. Whenever I'm going by a Rite-Aid and have some spare time, I go in, completely fill a cart with stuff taken from as many different shelves as possible, put a bottle of beer on top, and attempt to check out. If refused, I walk out of the store and leave the cart for them to re-stock. I figure that if they feel OK about inconveniencing and annoying long-time customers, turn about is fair play.

I called them and they said it was an insurance problem and that I could not fill the rest until 14 days later. I went two weeks later, asked if there was any problems and got a "Nope, not at all." Took my bottle home and I was 2 pills short! So, I went back and asked what the deal was. They said, "Women are flagged for this particular medicine because you absorb it differently. Your insurance will only supply you with two weeks' worth at a time." After going a THIRD time to fill the ONE prescription and paying an additional $6.95 on my copay for the last 2 pills, I called my insurance to complain that it was sexist for me to have to drive there 3 times and pay more money than men for the same prescription. They told me that they'd never heard of such a thing!!
There is NO DIRECTIVE advising my pharmacy to limit my allowance. PLUS: when I went to get my last 2 pills, the cashier said, "That'll be $7.08, do you still want to round up and give 92 cents to KidCents?" I said, "I never agreed to round up any of my purchases." The charges are nominal, but they can sure add up with as much as I spend there. When I contacted their corporate office, I was told that at some point, I was asked or prompted to make a donation and the "automatically deduct" option had to have been checked. He graciously removed that from my Wellness Card. My concern is that this could have been going on for a while. It also really adds up with greater than 3000 stores. I feel this is fraudulent. How many others have been getting "rounded up" without their knowledge? I feel that they should go on some type of advertising campaign to make it known that this could be happening and give them the option to opt out.

To monitor who uses the drugs in excess and who does not. Not to mention if the pharmacist has reasons to believe you are misusing the drugs they are mandated to "tattle" on you. So no it is not actually Rite Aid retaining this information, it is Washington State watching you.

Almost every time I've gone to Rite Aid Pharmacy, 1320 Shipyard Ln., Hoboken 07030 to fill a controlled substance prescription, I was given a lesser amount of pills than prescribed. When I complained to the pharmacy manager about this issue, I was rebuked and they denied ever having been responsible. This caused me severe duress, being so ill and in pain the past couple of years which prevented me from changing to another drug store. After my therapist last year dismissed my claims, saying that I am responsible for counting the medicine, and ruined the relationship between me and my doctor. I counted the drugs in the pharmacy a couple of times, but they knew what was going on and gave me the correct amount of pills. I felt just humiliated having to count the pills. So I always count how much I take each day.
Two months ago, I came up with about twelve pills short but counted them at home. Of course Rite Aid would not admit it was their fault. Then one month ago, I counted ** pills after I got home and found the prescription to be four pills short. My health getting better, I moved my prescriptions to another pharmacy, thereafter I thought I'd only use this Rite Aid as a convenience store. It was a relief not to bring my numerous prescriptions there again.
On June 27, I was shopping at the Rite Aid when **, the manager of the pharmacy, approached me asking why I had moved my prescriptions out of the store. After I told her it was because I too often got a shortage of ** tablets from them taken to prevent seizures, ** seemed angry. And when I went home with the items I had bought, there was one $18 missing item. I called the store about the missing item and had to do the over one half mile walk to straighten the issue out. I needed to have a medication refilled last summer that I had been taking for over 6 years. I called in the prescription and went to pick it up a few days later. They told me that they sent a message to the doctor and the doctor didn't get back to them. I called the doctor and the office said they never received a message. I called the pharmacy back and they said they would send another one. This went on for 2 months. For 2 months, I didn't have my thyroid medication. I looked up other complaints and spoke with other people who have had the same problem with them not getting a message to the doctor and saying that they did.
Last week, I needed to get asthma medication and migraine medication refilled. I recently had to change insurances, and the new insurance said I needed a prior authorization. The pharmacy said that they sent a message to the doctor. The doctor said that they sent a referral for the medications to the insurance. I called the doctor and the pharmacy a few days later because I was out of my inhaler, which I need to breathe as I have severe asthma. The doctor's office said they would leave a message with the doctor. The insurance company told me to have the pharmacy call them, and the pharmacy said that they don't have to do anything, that the people in the doctor's office aren't doing their job and if the medication won't go through on their computer, they don't have to do anything else. I asked them what I should do and she said to call the insurance company.
I called them and they said to have the pharmacy call. I called the pharmacy back, which at this point was just completely angry and didn't want anything to do with me. I asked if there was anything I could do, that I would die without my inhaler. She very sarcastically told me that I wasn't going to die. (This is also the same woman who told me that another prescription, filled at another time, wasn't there after I had called to check on it and they told me it was ready. My daughter went in to get it, the woman said it wasn't ready, so I called again right after my daughter left the store and another woman said it was ready. I heard her ask who waited on my daughter and the woman in the background admitted that she didn't check to see if it was ready.) Then as she's talking to me, she said that my inhaler had just been approved at that very minute and hung up on me.
I made a complaint with a 1-800 number found online. It was supposed to be an anonymous complaint but I get a phone call from the woman at the Southbridge Rite Aid about a half an hour later, who informed me that she knows about the complaint and that the man allowed her to listen to the message and that I said she made fun of me and that she would never be rude or make fun of anyone and that I wouldn't let her finish when she told me that I wouldn't die. She meant that she would get me my inhaler, but that was a lie. I was on the phone trying to get her to help me get my inhaler and she wouldn't. She also said that she didn't have any health insurance for her children and that she has to pay for their prescriptions, but I thought that in MA, everyone has to have health insurance, so I'm thinking that may be a lie as well.
She then told me that she was told to call and apologize, but it is not in her nature to be rude and she's sorry if I took what she said that way, but her tone was still very rude. I feel like I made a complaint and that that was used to further bully me. I was in tears talking to her earlier trying to find someone to help me. It's scary not having a medication that keeps you breathing and then the fact that it took 2 months for me to get my thyroid meds that I had been taking for years. I was sick by the end of the 2 months. I was finally able to get my medication by calling the insurance myself, a few different times, but after these last ones are filled, I will never go back to that pharmacy.

On 2/23/13 at around 8 pm, I was in the store on Nelson Brogdon Blvd. in Sugar Hill, GA. I went to the store from work to get my wife some ** for her cold. My wife was ill, I had tried **, and it worked great for me, so I bought some for my wife (this was my third purchase of ** in RiteAid for this particular week). I've been using this pharmacy since around 1996 to fill "all" of our (my wife and I) prescriptions, and I enjoy going there and talking with our pharmacists, some of the employees, and the manager.
This particular night, I was doing another one of my short visits, walk around just looking, and I noticed one of the employees, Bianca, in the area I was in. I didn't think anything else about it at the time. I then went to another location, and there she was again almost right next to me. A little concerned, I then started moving to other locations in the store, and there she would be. By this time, I was getting a little annoyed. Although I was annoyed, I looked around the store to see if I was the only African-American in the store. I was. Also, I was the only patron she was following.
This went on for several minutes, until I approached Bianca and asked her why was she following me. She replied, "Just doing my job." I asked her was it her job to follow me around, and she replied again, "just doing my job". She also stated that as a supervisor, it was her job to follow people around. I told her that she's not doing a good job at it, unless she was trying to annoy me.
I then went up to the register where another employee, a young man, was working. I was about to check out, and remembered I needed ice, so I turned around to go and purchase a bag of ice. I placed the bag and the medicine on the countertop and Bianca was still hovering around me. While at the register, I asked Bianca, "In the future, when I come in here, don't follow me." The guy behind the counter replied, "She can stay here, and I'll follow you around."
First of all, I was more than shocked to receive that type of behavior in that RiteAid. I've never had that happen to me before. I asked her to stop following me, and she replied again, "I'm just doing my job as a shift supervisor". As a patron of almost 17 years, and spending and my insurance company sending, thousands of dollars there, I'm not pleased with Bianca's, or the other employee's behavior. She and the other employee, a young man whose name I don't remember, were rude, obnoxious and very unconcerned that they were about to cause a loyal customer to RiteAid, to carry his business elsewhere.
I want to say that I'd like to get an explanation as to why these two people were acting like this to me. This is an incident that's ridiculous. I can't and I won't tolerate this harassment, especially when I've spent so much money there. The business we've given to RiteAid over the years, and to be treated like this, is very, very uncalled for. I would like a response to my complaint. I would also like to know what does, "Just doing my job" mean.

Rite Aid Pharmacy has a program set up called the Wellness Plan, in which they give you a card to use for discounts in their store. They offer certain items at special discounts if a customer uses their card to purchase items they have marked with an "UP Reward" sticker. Mostly, the card is used for in-store specials instead of using coupons. But there is an incentive for frequent shoppers. If a customer spends a certain amount within a year, they offer 10% or 20% off their purchases after that dollar amount has been reached. I happen to have a 10% discount on my purchases. On November 30, 2012, I entered the store to purchase hair clippers. As most customers have to do, I found an employee to explain the offered discount on hair clippers. I purchased the hair clippers made by Conair ("The Chopper 2-in-1 Custom Styler) that had a price tag of $30.99.
Normally, I would've purchased a cheaper item, but they were offering a $10 UP Reward for anyone that purchased these clippers. The only additional term that was attached to these hair clippers, was that the item has to cost at least $30. So I decided to purchase them based on that information. After I completed my sale, I realized that the $10 reward was not on my receipt. When I asked the clerk about it, she said that my 10% discount was applied, dropping the price to $27.89 (a savings of $3.10). I told them that I would be willing to bypass the $3.10 savings so I could receive the $10 reward, but they explained that it could not be done. You see, in order to receive the 10% discount or the UP Reward, a customer must use their card. So why would they place an UP Reward sale sticker on the item that says there is a $10 UP Reward when this item is subject to other discounts that decline the $10 reward?
I asked to speak to a manager and the on-duty manager was Linda. She explained that there is a flaw with the discount card program and that not only does she get complaints all of the time, but even Rite-Aid employees are denied certain UP Rewards because of their employee discount. I then stated to her that at least the employees get to decide if they want to use their employee discount or the UP Reward. In my case, I wanted the $10 UP Reward so I had to use my card to get it. But when I did use it, they subtracted my 10% savings and denied me the $10 UP Reward. Then I began to wonder how many times Rite Aid could've done this to me and many other people. There have been many times over the years that I have wandered into Rite Aid Pharmacy to pick up a generic item and ended up buying a name brand item because the reward they offered was a better deal. I wonder how many times that "reward" was denied without me realizing it.
I went home and called the contact number provided to me (1-800-Rite-Aid) and spoke with George in the Wellness Plus department. I explained my situation whereas he replied that he would bring the issue to one of the daily meetings but no answer was given to me about my concern and that he sympathized with my situation. In order to obtain the $10 reward on those hair clippers, I needed to use my card. If I used my card, I was forced to accept a 10% discount; which voided out the $10 reward. And these UP Reward stickers are placed on items previously chosen by Rite Aid so I am starting to believe that Rite Aid is fully aware of this flaw but uses it to make a few extra bucks. So regarding the $10 reward, is Rite Aid reimbursed the $10 by Conair (in this particular story)? Because as far as we know, Conair reimburses Rite Aid for selling that item.
If I choose not to use my card for my 10% discount (which totaled $3.10 in this scenario), then I can't obtain the $10 reward that Rite Aid is advertising. I feel this is a case of bait-and-switch and I made my purchase under fraudulent terms.

After the Oyster Bay Pharmacy was back in operation last week, I stopped in to refill my prescription. Well, I have called last week and earlier this week and both times I got through to my doctor's office and they told me Rite Aid has not called them about refilling my prescription. They said have them call or fax the request in.
After waiting 2 more days, last night I again stopped in to the Pharmacy and they again told me, "Sorry, we have not gotten in touch with your doctor's office."
