Like many others I have problems filling my prescriptions EVERY single time I have to use Caremark RX. We must get our RX from them due to the fact that it is an injectable and it takes 2 or more month of going back and forth for them to finally fill the medications. We (my husband) and I have had to go to the doctor for shots because Caremark makes claims that they are shipping the medication and every time we call to find out where it is there is another excuse as to why we haven't received it. Last time it was because they didn't have the correct size needles. We told them twice just send the medication and we will get the needles from our local pharmacy and they said "ok we are shipping today." Another few weeks later the same story and we say "We TOLD you to just ship the medicine that we NEED!" Again sure no problem only to have to call again.
The last incident was when our doctor called in the refill early November and Caremark claimed they needed a form filled out with his personal signature which he complied with on the 19th. We called again on the 25th and they couldn't find the paperwork. We called the doctors office and sure enough they had the fax with a confirmation that it was sent on the 19th. Nevertheless they sent it again while we were on hold with Caremark. The representative finally came back on the line indicating she had the paperwork from the 19th. I let her know that the doctor office was on the other line and was sending it again and that we needed the medication filled prior to the end of November because our plan starts over in December and we had already met our out of pocket maximum. She assured me she was working on it as we were speaking and would call me back.
She never called back and we had Thanksgiving holidays then the following Monday I was in surgery all day. We called back on the 1st of December and was told the doctor had sent the wrong paperwork on the 19 but has sent different paperwork on the 25 and they didn't have time to process it so they would do it now on the 1st costing us 100% now that our plan year has started over. We asked to talk to a supervisor and she was rude trying to explain things to us like we were stupid and just didn't understand they process they must go thru.
I asked if I was talking to a supervisor and she said yes. I told her the paperworks from the 19th and 25th was the same exact paperwork and what about the CSR assuring me she would fill it right then or call if any problems arose. She had no answer but said she would get back with me. I asked her name Britney ** and she said her title was PSR which doesn't sound like a supervisor to me as she had represented herself. What can we do about companies like this who are basically scamming their clients? I'm looking online and there are very similar complaints. Caremark has almost 600 complaints. Doesn't this seem excessive?

Twice within 24 hours, with two separate drugs and doctors' offices, I had the same experience with Caremark Online: Insistence that a refill had not been authorized when the doctors' offices insisted that they had. In the first case, this dragged on for almost two months. When, finally, on Nov. 30th, someone from my first doctor's office finally got a human being on the telephone, Caremark's representative had changed its story: Authorization had been received and the drug sent out--and signed for. First, I had not received the drug; second, not once in the years of using Caremark had I ever had to sign for a delivery. That last was pure fabrication.
When the doctor's assistant relayed this version to me, I suggested that Caremark was mixing up two orders for the same drug, one in solution form and the other an ointment. I had received the solution; it was the ointment I was struggling to get. Another call to Caremark, and when the person there looked with a bit more "care", that's exactly the error Caremark had made.
Then the same day, Nov. 30th, Caremark sent me an email saying another drug, one I had ordered that day, could not be filled because "the prescriber had denied authorization. I phoned Caremark to ask which drug they were referring to because as usual the information I was given was the last four digits of a prescription number. (That privacy protection policy is not worth the headaches it causes. While every day yet another large company has to admit to being hacked, how many patients know their drugs by the last four digits of prescription number?)
Caremark's representative said they had messaged asking for authorization and had received no response. Their email had come within hours of my placing the order. How much time is Caremark giving doctor's office to response. And anyway, is a lack of response a "denial"? Only to Caremark. I called my doctor's office, spoke to his assistant, who said quite certainly that she had sent the authorization the same day. I called Caremark again. No, no authorization. In essence, Caremark's so-called Customer Service's response was: "Tell her to do it again." In short, it's always the doctor's office's fault, never ours.
Getting drug orders filled should not be this difficult, should not involve multiple calls back and forth. I know my doctors, I know their offices and I have confidence in them. I have none in Caremark, because all my interactions with them are at best bureaucratic, at worst completely unhelpful, as in the two instances described above.

CVS Caremark quoted me a price for a new expensive prescription. When I received the prescription I had been charged a much higher amount. When I called, they said they DO NOT give quotes, only estimates. When I received my "ESTIMATE", I send a note with my prescription to call me if the price exceeded $135, the estimate price. They also said an agent of theirs talked to me and I approved the price. The notes in my file say I only had a small amount left and needed the drug. That is BS as this is a new drug I had never taken before. Obviously their agents lie. I just want the difference refunded to me. They too bad.

I have a very serious intestinal problem. My surgeon prescribed Amitiza. After a month or two, Caremark sent me a message saying, "did you know Linzess is a less expensive option?" and telling me my doctor would need to write a letter if he thought I should remain on Amitiza. My physician sent the letter stating that he, as the doctor, knew about all medications, and that the two drugs worked differently. He stressed that I should stay on Amitiza.
Now, after about a year, Caremark has sent me a letter stating that I had "incorrectly been paying a lower co-pay for Amitiza", and going forward I would be charged the "correct" co-pay of $220 for 90 days. It infuriates me that non-physicians tell me what medication I should take, and when my physician disagrees, Caremark just raises the co-pay to price it out of my ability to pay. And their customer service when I call is awful. No one can seem to find any information about my drugs, although I am responding to a LETTER THEY SENT. No one knows what the co-pay has been or should be, and then I'm put on hold and "accidentally" disconnected. The company had asked for my phone number, but never used it to call me back. I work for a large company and will make recommendation that we drop Caremark, as they are an unsatisfactory and unscrupulous service provider.

They DO NOT care if customers get their prescriptions. Do NOT use this pharmacy.

I have been ordering from Caremark for years without a hitch, until this year. From the start of this year every time I call in my order it is one ordeal after another. Each person I spoke with claimed it was a computer glitch and or something on the pharmacy end of things. For my refill, there is to be 3 months prescriptions and it rarely got shipped correct, sometimes with one and others with two months' worth. The pharmacist would punch it in the computer as three and the computer would spit it out as one or two.
Numerous times being assured the problem was fixed and it shouldn't be an issue anymore, yet the next time I call it's the same thing plus having sit on the phone typically 45 minutes! Though the reps are friendly on the phone and seem understanding about the problem but why is it still not being rectified??? If I had another option for my prescription plan from my workplace I would've switched many months ago. What happened to this company? I think they need to definitely hire staff to fix this "computer issue". Otherwise there will be a lot more upset customers and more business lost due to little to no resolve.

I had to purchase a prescription for my wife and when I called up CVS Caremark (since I did not have my card yet), they asked me to make the payment and then file a paper claim. I paid about $400 and then made a claim for the same. They rejected the entire amount mentioning that the policy does not allow you to buy drugs for a 50 day period. The policy allows to only purchase for a 30 day or a 90 day period. How do I get to know what the policy allows when I just purchased the policy (I did not even receive the papers then)? I just when ahead with what the doctor prescribed and CVS has ridiculously rejected the claim.

I have been trying to deal with them since July 2015. They are the worse company to call. I have no patience with people who charge your account a misc. amount and then debit and then charge it again. I now have to prove I paid when clearly they show I paid. I truly wish MVP would get away from CVS Caremark. It is totally the work experience of my life and at a time when both my husband and I are sick. Someone should really think twice. I am changing my insurance so I do not have to deal with them anymore. It's awful how bad they are.

We have had trouble for the past year getting prescription filed correctly. We were told that the script went to the wrong account. I said I only have one account. They tell me that there is another account for me that is worker's compensation. I ask if that account has ever paid for any medication. I am told no by the representative. I ask if my script were paid by my other account and they answer yes. SO when the new script was sent in you all at CVS put it into the wrong account. No your doctor would have done that. I explain my doctor does not have that information. He just called or faxed in the script. One month later and on the phone again with the same problem. After another hour on the phone the rep tells me he will put a flag on the WC account that they need to submit it to the normal account.
I ask why they just couldn't move the script to the correct account now. After much discussion about needing to talk to a supervisor they finally agree to move the scripts to the correct account. Now we wait to see if this will fix the problem. If there was a better way to get my prescriptions I would seriously consider it.

I have been taking a low dose generic metoprolol for nearly 10 years - primarily through Caremark and my blood pressure was excellent and very stable. Recently, I received a refill through Caremark supplied by Dr. Reddy's and within 10 days my blood pressure was suddenly much higher. My doctor prescribed the "Brand only". I was given a very difficult time trying to get this approved through Caremark. One customer service representative (after I had explained it was likely a bad batch of drug) told me that the pharmacy is not responsible for the drugs they supply -- it is the doctor's prescription that they follow. Another rep told me they can't be responsible for how my body reacts to a drug they provide. I was appalled at the lack of understanding by the service representatives.
After a number of calls, I was finally able to get hold of one pharmacist who fixed the problem immediately. Shame on me for not asking for the pharmacist earlier. Upon taking the branded drug my blood pressure went back to its good normal level within 7 days. The point is, that the pharmacy sources the generics and they do have some obligation -- Dr. Reddy's has had numerous recalls for metoprolol. The customer service individuals should be trained in the responsibilities of the pharmacy and be tuned in to these kind of issues, rather than just blindly reading a script that is incorrect. Once my insurance changes at the beginning of the year, I'll find another mail order pharmacy.

Almost every month my family and I are faced with the stress of hoping I will receive my prograf medication without delay. There has been some sort of issue that has delayed meds from arriving even after being reassured by associate on the phone that pills will be arriving on time. I have had assistance from Astellas co-pay card and from your own financial help program. Even with those two things in my favor here I am having been without meds for two days. I started this process Oct. 17th thinking that would allow for normal delay. WRONG! My doctors prefer I take name brand prograf or a generic form not manufactured by Dr. Reddy.
They have filled out prior authorization form about this and were told that all was fine. WRONG AGAIN. Does anyone there actually put this information where all phone operators have access to see. That might be helpful. I wouldn't be as completely fed up if what I was taking was an aspirin.. There has to be some accountability on your part for this repeated stressful situation. I think my next step will be my lawyer. I'm literally running out of time and option.

I created an account on here just to give this company a one star. So I have been using the mail delivery service for about a year now, and everything had been going mostly smooth. Unfortunately all has gone downhill recently. I take a medicine which is a scheduled II drug, so I have to send in my prescription and info every time I do a refill. So 2 weeks ago, I noticed I was running low on pills. I did what I normally do, call my doctor to get the prescription then mail it to CVS Caremark. After five days I received a text saying they received the prescription. This made me think everything was going as normal. But NOPE!
I was getting nervous as my medication was getting close to running out, so I went online to check the status of everything. I logged in, and was infuriated to see that my prescription had been canceled! Why? The stated reason was because they didn't have the medication. I was so mad due to the fact that I got no notification through text or call telling me this was the case! Thank god I checked online! Anyways, I called them and was basically given to a lady who seemed as confused as I did. She told me the pharmacy said I sent in a copy prescription! I mentioned how it wasn't a copy and that it was straight from my doctor. I told her I have been sending the prescription my doctor has given me and everything has been fine until now.
After a long time of talking and being on hold, I was told to contact my doctor because there is nothing they can do. I contacted my doctor, explaining my situation and they had no clue what was going on. Being stressed and only having two pills left, I decided to just do 30 day, Walgreens pick up rather than mail order. This method cost me much more than mail service but I had no other choice. Thanks to CVS Caremark! What a terrible service they are! It's bad enough to not notify your customer of an out of stock medication but to just straight up say "we can't help you" is absurd. Save yourself tons of stress and steer clear of this disgrace of a company.

I pay my insurance premiums, why does Caremark not provide the service I am paying for, hence putting my life in danger? I am diabetic, and it's been nearly a month now that CVS/Caremark has refused to provide me my meds. Why? Because they want my doctor to instead prescribe a less expensive drug. Well, I've seen a lot about service from CVS/Caremark, but not about their dispensing adulterated drugs. I received my Metformin from their mail order pharmacy and noticed the supplier was TEVA with the product manufactured by EMCURE Pharmaceuticals. The FDA has found that EMCURE has falsified their product testing and so their products are adulterated. The FDA issued an Import Alert (Import Alert 66-40) where all drugs (except those specifically exempted) are to be detained without physical inspection. TEVA has been recalling drugs manufactured for them by EMCURE, though this Metformin has not been recalled yet. However, it is disturbing that CVS/Caremark has dispensed drug that is subject to an Import Alert and is adulterated under the meaning of the law.

My 3 year old daughter has chronic Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). We have struggled since she was weeks old to get her on a protocol that gets her painful reflux under control. Prevacid (Lansoprazole) was a miracle cure. Since she was a year old she received the compounded Prevacid in the liquid formulation. On July 20th I received a letter dated July 15, 2015 stating that our compounded medicine would no longer be covered effective July 1, 2015. She was due for a refill in a few days and suddenly we get this letter that the change was effective weeks ago! Without insurance I was told this monthly prescription would cost us $445! I called our doctor for a backup plan. We were informed that there are Prevacid solutabs that dissolve in her mouth and are strawberry flavored.
We had the Prevacid solutab prescription called into our pharmacy. CVS Caremark insurance denied coverage on this prescription. The out of pocket price for Prevacid Solutabs ranges from $360 to $450 depending on which Pharmacy you go to. I spent a lot of my time and pharmacist's time calling a dozen pharmacies to look for the best pricing. This medication is medically necessary for my daughter to control her reflux. We have tried other medications including Prilosec, Zantac and others. They either did not work or had intolerable side effects. My daughter needs Lansoprazole in some format to control her reflux. CVS Caremark offers no formulation of this drug available for pediatrics. I should also mention that we have her diet very restricted. We have eliminated all foods that trigger reflux.
On the CVS Caremark website it lists Prevacid as a covered drug with Prior Authorization for medical necessity. We had a prior authorization processed by our doctor’s office. It was denied. We received a letter stating our right appeal. We also appealed. The appeal contained important chart notes from our doctor regarding prior reactions to Prilosec, ineffectiveness of Zantac and dysphagia and well as texture issues that would prevent her from taking something like Nexium granules. The appeal was faxed and denied within minutes of receipt. The appeal was pages of doctor’s notes. Who reviewed this appeal? I doubt a medical professional, doctor or nurse practitioner completed the review. I suspect a decision about what is medically necessary for our child was made by someone with zero medical background.
We will continue to appeal this decision to get this drug covered. I will also be filing a complaint with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Insurance, as well as contacting my local news stations. I am organizing all of my information now to take those actions. I am learning that many families are being denied coverage for things like prescription formulas that are sometimes $70 or more a canister. There are more denials that payouts for basic medical and food necessities. Anyone who has had a child with GI problems knows that you can go through 10-15 formula and medicine options before finding one that works for your child.
In our instance I feel this is of the utmost importance, for the long term well-being of my child. Untreated GERD can result in esophageal erosion, and other more serious medical problems. We will continue to fight this. CVS Caremark is making dangerous denials not based on medical evidence. I feel that our one instance is one of many and I hope that there is some basis for a class action suit or some sort of larger action than our single denial, appeal and hopefully someday and approval.

Well a shipment of medication arrived that I did not order. I called Caremark and after much back and forth I finally got them to send me a return pouch for the medication. I received the pouch packed the medication drove it to the Post Office and received a receipt for the shipment. Since there was a tracking number provided I tracked the shipment and received a proof of delivery.. I called Caremark to advise them the shipment had been received, the customer service person advised credit would be issued that day, so I called that evening and another customer service person told me it takes three (3) business days for the credit to appear. I called three (3) days later and was now advised it takes three (3) weeks for the credit to appear.
So typical of Caremark you never get straight answer. While I was on the telephone on 7/27/15 I ordered several refill medications, the person told me the price for the medications and advised that it could change upon filling. I advised the CS agent that there was a pending return on my account and inquired if that would effect this shipment, she advised she would put a notation on my account and everything should be fine. I issued an e-check for the amount quoted and also as I always state, Caremark can not withdraw any additional funds from my account without my verbal authorization, and figured that was the end of that. Then as usual I started received mechanical telephone messages from Caremark that there were problems with my order. I called each day after receiving the message only to hear different stories each day.
On 8/5/15 I called and was informed that one of the medications was too soon to fill. I inquired why was I not informed at the time of placing the order of this? The girl was snippy so I asked to escalate to a manager. I was connected to a Senior Resolution Specialist who informed me they had no record of my e-check, and I inquired why was I not informed on the too soon status, she did not know, I explained that the CS agents at Caremark are poorly trained and often lie with they don't have an answer. She managed to override the too soon refill and advised it would ship overnight at no charge to me. At that point I advised that I again wanted to escalate my problems to a manager, shortly thereafter I was contacted by an Executive Resolution Specialist. It was obvious she did not research my situation but blindly called me, and was flipping through notes on the account trying to in her words "piece together the situation."
She began to explain all the mechanics to Caremark goes through to fill an order, I advised I don't want to know their mechanics I want my medication period. She advised all the tape recorded calls would be reviewed from training and coaching. She checked on my order that was shipping overnight and made sure I was not charged for the expedited shipping, the shipment arrived the next day and I was charged for shipping. The balance of my order arrived the following day and I was not charged shipping. I checked my checking account balance and on 8/4/15 Caremark had debited my account for $20.00 without my authorization after advising me on 8/5/15 that there was no e-check on file.
I have called the Executive Representative several times and always get voicemail, I have left specific questions, she returns my calls does not provide any answers only states her name, her title and her return telephone number. From the reviews I have read online for Caremark something needs to be done to protect consumers from this company either at the State or Federal level.

In my life I have never encountered an organization of any size or structure that is more incompetent, disorganized or arrogant than this one! They robo call me almost weekly regarding prescription refills and when I return the call, they have no record of any of my current prescriptions or the prescription they try to refill is one I no longer take. Upon advising them of their error and requesting that they refill the correct prescription, they typically respond with complete ignorance as to whether I've ever filled such a prescription from them or if they even carry such a medicine at all. After many transfers to other specialist within the company (all of whom I must tell my story to from the start) they eventually arrive at the realization that, yes, in fact, I have had the prescription filled by them and yes it is due for a refill and yes they had all of this information on hand.
Oh, if only this were the end of the story. Half the time, they still fail to ship my prescription medication. Why? Your guess is as good as the clueless idiot manning their customer service line. I wish I could say that this has happened only once (or at worst twice), but it has happened a dozen times! In fact, I've never had an experience with them that was satisfactory. My complete frustration with them has not only turned me against using the Caremark Specialty Pharmacy, but I also refuse to visit any CVS store for any reason and I strongly urge everyone I know to join me in a complete boycott of this organization. Awful! Awful! Awful!

My doctor prescribed me to take two 50mg pills which is 100mg a day. CVS Caremark will not pay for the 50mg twice a day prescription. They will only pay if you get the 100mg. But, either way, I'm putting the same amount of medicine into my body. It doesn't make sense. Two 50mg = One 100mg. I just paid the full amount because I need the prescription and I don't want any hassles. But, from other reviews I've read, it sounds like they'll come up with all kinds of reasons to not pay for your prescription.

I have psoriatic arthritis. Have been treating for over 10 years, have been on Enbrel, Simponi, Cimzia, and Humira. Most recently on Orencia. When I moved from California to Nevada, new plan: the Anthem PERSCare in Nevada decided I no longer met the criteria for Orencia, denied my request for a refill that was good until 2016 on PERSCare, CA. Rather than fight the uphill battle to get the medication through filing appeals and grievance, I went to see a new rheumatologist in Nevada who prescribed Enbrel since that seemed to fit the criteria for Nevada PERSCare. On July 14 Dr. ** wrote a prescription for Enbrel. I have been told by the doctor's office that the prior authorization was completed and approved. I have been calling nearly daily to find out what the problem is in getting the RX filled.
I have been told by CVS Caremark Specialty the following: The prior aux. was approved but sent to the wrong department. Can you get it from that department? No, we don't do that (even though it is the same company?). My doctor's office has faxed the Rx to three different parts of Caremark. Apparently it went to mail order and should have gone to Specialty. "Can someone forward it? We need to hear from your doctor." At this point my doctor's office has faxed the Rx three different times! "We have additional questions for the doctor and only the doctor can answer them." Apparently, there is no one at CVS Caremark Specialty who can step in and try to get this coordinated. I never talk to the same person twice.
On 6/29/15, when CalPERS Anthem decided I could not continue on the Orencia, although I had a prescription that had been approved through 2016 in CA from PERSCare, I finally called a customer care rep. who was able to get them to give me 4 weeks of Orencia until I could see a rheum and get a new prescription meeting the new PERSCare NV guidelines. I got the final bridge prescription for the Orencia at the end of June, however, I had spent so much time on-hold, trying to get any medication, that I was charged $200.00 dollars for going over my minutes on my cell phone plan!!!
Although I never filed an appeal or grievance on the denial of the Orencia, I was sent several determinations including a notice of external review determination dated 7/2/15 (???), stating I could not get the Orencia on my new health plan. I saw Dr. Susan **, a rheumatologist, on 7/14. She prescribed Enbrel. I called CVS Caremark Specialty pharmacy to attempt to arrange shipment of the Enbrel or at least to get the status of the new prescription for Enbrel. At no time did I get the same person twice, also, I was given conflicting and inaccurate information. They kept blaming the doctor's office, instead of contacting the doctor to get what they needed.
On 8/3/15, after spending from 8 am to 4:37 pm on the phone and on hold with CVS Caremark Specialty and my doctor's office staff - including a three-way call between an Anthem customer service rep. and CVS Specialty and the doctor's office - I was told nothing more could be done today because the Specialty staff had all gone home!!!
On 8/4/15 I received a call from Express Scripts wanting to schedule my Enbrel delivery. This was the second time they had called. If I had accepted the shipment, I would be on the hook for the entire prescription cost. I was told at one point by CVS Caremark that they could not fill my prescription because it had been approved by Accredo (who is Accredo?).
My doctor's office had inadvertently faxed the first prescription to the wrong phone number. However, that is fixable. CVS was subsequently sent the prescription for Enbrel to the right Specialty pharmacy phone number. In fact my doctor's office had submitted and received prior authorization through my insurance and sent to CVS at least four times. I know they got the prior aux. because the staff at the doctor's office read the letter to me over the phone. Oh, and the doctor's office had received the prior aux. on 7/17/15, so... So...even though there was a prior aux., CVS just kept saying they were still waiting for the prior aux. Also, on two occasions they CVS told me they did not have a prescription, say what??? This is after saying they are waiting for the prior aux.
On 8/4/15 at 8:31 am, I got a call from CVS Specialty to arrange for my shipment of Orencia???!!! I explained that Orencia had been denied in no uncertain terms, up to and including an appeal and external review that I had not participated in and which I had not requested. (To be honest it seems as if the insurance company was moving post-haste to make sure I would not be able to win an appeal if I had in fact decided to request one.) The rep. said, "Oh, meant your Enbrel. Let me see if it goes through." It went through! Do I want to schedule the shipment? Yes I do. However, please tell me what magic took place between 4:37 last night and 8:31 this morning that CVS now considers it authorized? Well, your doctor's office called this morning and gave us a verbal (why accept it now, when they would not before?)
QUESTION: Why was I put through this ordeal in the first place? I used to be a fraud investigator for an insurance company in California. (Ironic I know.) My first inkling would be to follow the money and find out who benefits from running patients through all kinds of hoops before finally deciding the patient will not give up and go away. Believe me, if I could get by without treatment for autoimmune disease, I would! How many patients have neither the time nor the energy, need I say good health, to get through this arduous system? Never got the same person at CVS on the phone twice. The doctor's office and I were expected to do all the push ups. I noticed there are over 511 customer service complaints on www.consumeraffairs.com, you may want to read them. Believe me, my complaint will seem totally redundant after you do.

Apparently not dealing with them at all, even though they have CVS listed in their name, has nothing to do with their retail stores either which are more than extremely helpful. Aetna and other insurance companies don't understand how much of a huge inconvenience these CVS Specialty idiots are to normal folks. I have yet to hear of anyone having any good interaction with CVS Specialty. Their phone numbers are just looped. I am a mother of a diabetic child & am forced to order my products from CVS Caremark. Which I have to say has the WORST service I have ever experienced. Unfortunately I am at their mercy to get his supplies from as my husband's employer has a "Diabetic Kit" program so we only pay one co-pay when we order many items at one time. I placed an order end of June & received most of it in July. When I called looking for his test strips they told me that I had cancelled that part of the order! I never did. Why would I do that when at the time I placed my order I told the rep that we were almost out of test strips. Which I did run out of strips after waiting for them to come in the mail. None of the CVS Caremark reps could tell me why they were not being shipped to me. Finally we received the test strips after waiting almost 2 wks for them to ship.
Several weeks after I had all the items in my order a single small box was at my door. I opened it to find 2 Glucagon's in the box. I did not order this item. I just received it in the order I got a few weeks back. I called & spoke to a rep (of course of all the times I call I didn't write down their name) I was told at that time that I would be mailed a return label & when I got it I could send the item back & after that they would credit the $150.00 they had charged to my card. A week or more has now passed & I still have not received their return label, so I called again & now being told entirely different story.
Now I'm told that it was reviewed by an account manager & they are not paying for the shipping & they won't allow me to return this item that I didn't order & therefore won't return my $150.00 to my Visa. This company is such a scam!!!! They charged my Visa on the previous order over $980.00 when my co-pay should have been $150.00. I will NEVER order from this company again!!!!

Had I been made aware of that before today, I could have gone to the doctor and taken care of it so there would be no delay in getting my medicine, But I guess a national pharmacy can't afford to have someone call their customers and let them know things ahead of time. That would cost about $8 an hour to hire someone to do just that. And considering that my medication costs about $3400 a month, I don't see the problem with that.

I have been trying to deal with CVS Caremark mail order since Wellcare switched to them at the beginning of 2015. I take 10 different medications prescribed by 2 different doctors and have yet to get a prescription filled without a minimum of 3 phone calls and weeks and weeks of delays. I fell into the 'donut hole' early in the year as my meds are expensive and these folks can't seem to get anything right even after multiple lengthy phone calls on every order.
Their automated phone system takes my member # and birthdate then tells me to call back and provides a number. It doesn't tell me why they are calling or provide me a reference number so I can address a particular issue with them. Therefore when I call back their automated system ask me again for my member # and whether I want to order a prescription or check on a prescription. Logically I choose check on a prescription since they called me. Then they ask for a prescription #. How the heck would I know which of my prescriptions they are calling on? When I get a representative most of the time the problem is a high co-pay amount I must authorize them to charge on my already provided credit card. They put me on hold to get the payment approved and tell me it will process. 7 to 10 days later, no meds. Not once year to date has this worked the first or even the second time.
I call back, and begin the circus over again. By now the order has been cancelled and they want my doctor to re-submit. On one of my prescriptions my doctor's office submitted it 3 different times. (God Bless them for their patience). I am an insulin dependent diabetic and have been trying since July 5th to get one of my medications. I am on my last vile and just hung up from my third representative who assures me my order has been approved to charge on my credit card and will process to their 'pharmacy' within 2 days. I'll sign on to my account via the web site (which is also pretty much useless) on Monday and call them back on Tuesday. This is pure insanity (Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results) but what choice do I have??

I got different answers from different representatives about the process and, after 5 days, was told they would call my doctor's office and the pharmacy and call me back. I never heard from them again. I finally talked directly to my pharmacist who was very clear about the process and contradicted everything I'd been told by the call center in Phoenix. The people at this call center are poorly trained, don't understand the process itself, if there is one, and don't have the information they need to do their job.
My prescription card has CMS, Caremark and Blue cross on it. It appears to be a conglomeration of inept, bureaucratic incompetents who have no regard for customer service, not to even mention the health of the people they serve. I had a heart transplant and need my anti-rejection medication delivered on time. I order it to be delivered to my local CVS pharmacy. I was told both prescriptions would ship on July 15th. I had a visit to my doctor on the morning of 20th. They reduced one of my medications. I would need a smaller mg pill because I can't cut them. The doc said because I just paid for them to go ahead and continue on the higher dose for now and change in three months. When I arrived home that afternoon received a call saying my meds would not ship until the 21st. I said hold the one that is changing and I'll have the doctor send a new script. The doctors sent the new script right away. I had to pick up a new med that evening at the local CVS and they had both of the meds from the Caremark specialty pharmacy. I checked them and one that was changing was incorrect. The CVS "system" would not let me pick up the one I need.
I called the next day and told them of the error. They said that would take care of it with the local CVS (I'll see about that one!). They said they have the new reduced script for my med and will ship it so I have it before I run out on the 24th. I asked for a call to let me know when it ships. The said "we don't do that." I again explained that they didn't ship when they said they would on the 15th and never told me until the 21st. They said the local CVS will call when they have it. At this point, I going to see the pharmacist in charge at my local CVS who is GREAT and see if she can help me. I'm sure that she will.
It is a really sad commentary on CVS as a corporation that the local CVS can have such GREAT staff and the mail order such HORRIBLE staff. This company is far below a one star rating and should be rated a -100 on a one to ten rating.
Several years ago I called CVS Caremark and asked them to never send me any info or to never fill any of my prescriptions again. About 4 months ago, I received a letter stating they were unable to fill a prescription at this time. I called them and was told the prescription was on hold and they would be sending it out in a few days. I told them not to send it. I found out from my doctor's office that they had called them and told them that they were now my provider for prescriptions. I addressed this issue with them and of course they denied it. They sent the prescription anyway. When I received the prescription, I called and was told to live it with, to pay the bill or they would take me to collections. After I became a nasty yelling jerk, and after being transferred to several people, I was told that I could return the prescription.
Today I received another bill, after the product was returned. Spent an hour and half on the phone speaking to half a dozen people and was told today that they will deal with it when it is convenient for their system to allow them to deal with it. I am convinced that one of the requirements for employment at CVS Caremark is that you can lie to people and your conscience allows you to sleep at night. This year my company changed their insurance plan so that any medication deemed maintenance had to be filled through CVS - pharmacy or mail order and it must be a 90-day supply. I will not do mail order as I don't want drugs sitting in my mailbox. When I questioned the new policy and stated I preferred not to have a 90-day supply I was told it would be cheaper. When I inquired on the price it was actually more; the customer service rep told me they "rounded up." Seriously! I explained to Caremark that I was seeing a new doctor who may well change my prescription. They would not budge and insisted I get the 90-day supply.
I gave up and put in my refill, only to find they did not have a 90-day supply; it had to be ordered. I came in on the day the order was to arrive only to be told it had not come in, but I could come back the next day. I travel for work and was on a plane the next day, so that option didn't work and I was out of medication already. There was no CVS pharmacy in the area that had the medication in stock! They "allowed" me to pay for a 90-day supply and let me take 30 days with the understanding I would pick up the remaining 60 days later. When I saw the doctor, as I expected, we agreed the medication could be discontinued. I am now out for the cost of the 60-day supply - CVS will not take returns.
I started this battle again today being informed that my one remaining prescription now fell into the category of maintenance, forcing me back into the Caremark plan. As expected, CVS did not have the 90-day supply in stock, so we are again waiting. Second time I am out of medication. I fundamentally do not understand why their pharmacies do not stock a 90-day supply of medication they deem maintenance. Actually I think I do understand. They want you to use their mail-order service, which based on the complaints I've read is worse than dealing with the pharmacy people. Calling Caremark gets you nowhere. They tell me they are powerless to do an override or exception and that I need to discuss this with my benefits people, but our plan is managed by an outside company whose customer service is just as bad as Caremark.
They also claim they are powerless to do anything, but I can fax an override request in (note from my doctor). There is no option to talk to a human. I have selected the best plan my company offers in hopes of having some flexibility and freedom to fill a prescription in a way that is convenient and economical for me. Now that is no longer an option. Who would have thought it would require so much time and effort to simply refill a prescription. If they are trying to cut costs, denying people required medication is not going to do the trick.

Texas State Retirement System, who is the guardianship over healthcare service in the state of Texas for Teachers decided to switch us last year. It was effective 9-1-14. I have no choice when it comes to specialized prescriptions. And have opted to use Target when I have my normal everyday scripts filled. However, just found out that CVS Caremark is buying Target's Pharmacy. It's a shame too... Target has always employed the best of the best who actually care while CVS Caremark seems to hire anyone they can find on the streets. They don't properly train anyone... I have called numerous times to ask specific questions, and can manage to get a different answer every time I speak to someone different. It took months of constant calling to finally find someone who knew the billing system. And that was their corporate office. Who did nothing to fix their pharmacy.
Here is what I have been through specifically. I was approved for my Botox through my health insurance... placed my Botox order right after the first of Sept. CVS repeatedly filed the paper work incorrectly for two straight months. Which made it so I didn't finally get my treatment until the end of November. I had my doctor's office calling, my insurance calling, in addition to my constant calls. My migraines returned and were way stronger than prior to my first Botox treatment. This caused the new school year to by horrible for the first two months... I kept getting two to three migraines a day. And CVS cared nada about my health. They wanted their money first... after finally fixing their paperwork errors. I gave them my CC number. It took another two weeks for my meds I reach my doctors office and immediately after I received collection notice after collection notice... stating I was a dead beat. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Since then... they have repeatedly screwed up my Botox deliveries and made working with them near impossible. I have learned to start really early... and hopefully my meds will get there at the three month mark. So I can get my injections from my doc. This last time... I spoke to someone, got a delivery date and did my end of the job. Did they ship??? Nope. They instead kept calling me to tell me I didn't confirm. Nice... how can I have a delivery date without confirming???? My newest med I have to get is a shot for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. That was also ever so fun to set up. And the best part is... they told me I didn't have an account and asked if I was sure my Botox came from them... when I told them that funny, I get my Botox from you so how do I not have an account???
Found out it's a totally different department and no one communicate between them two. So two different billing offices??? That's not confusing at all??? No wonder they are horrible at actually providing meds people need daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly. They have so many different departments that just push paper around. Hang up on you. Refuse you to speak with a supervisor. Complain. Order your meds. Confirm your meds. They are horrible!!!!!!!!!!
Why are they even allowed to be in business and force people to use them?????? Has out healthcare become this horrendous???? Or is it only CVS Caremark???? I'm going with its only them... and now they are working towards taking away my Target Pharmacy???? Which means... I now have to find someone else??? There is no way I will continue to shop at Target of they sell... I can't afford to. They will deny everything and my dear pharmacists will try to fix the issue... but will be faced with a giant brick wall instead. Please call Target and tell them what your experiences are with CVS Caremark... otherwise they ruin an amazing Pharmacy Team Nationwide.

I would give less than half a star if I could. I will start with general complaints then get into specifics. They are slower than my experience with other mail order pharmacies to mail your prescription. They frequently remove prescriptions from online when refills remain. The payment options are not as consumer friendly as others. The rx online history is inaccurate and site is not user friendly. Customer service is not knowledgeable and seems to have limited responsibilities as they constantly say "I have to contact our senior staff on that" with the tiniest of questions or requests. They have told me an explanation for why I received a letter in the mail that said "call to refill this prescription you already requested" (yes snail mail rather than a phone call while you are waiting on an rx) was because the medicine was out of stock and rather than call me to transfer to another pharmacy or see if I'd like to wait, they returned it to the dr.
Well I called the dr. and they said they didn't send in a rx in the first place. They also told me on another occasion that the reason they mailed a medication other than the med I initiated online and agreed to pay for was due to the dr. saying I had to start taking this new medication when really Caremark told the dr. I could only use this new medicine and not my old one. I happened to be pregnant at the time and the new medicine had horrible effects on the fetuses when studied in gestating animals. After many calls to managers, numerous methods of complaints, and wasted hours of my time and stress on my pregnant body, they still refused to allow me to return this never to be used medicine that I never authorized to be ordered. They demanded I pay the $150 co-pay or they would send to a collection agency.
Why would I be responsible for a medicine I didn't order and never agreed to? If I were to use a local pharmacy, I would never have to pay for an rx if one was phoned in by error. Any time you call, expect a long call with little results from a person that seems to know nothing about their employer and does not care about the patient at all. Not customer oriented. I recommend to my benefits department to switch to Medco or Express Scripts every time my employer sends a survey to the employees. I hope one day they listen. So, I recommend to anyone reading, just use your local pharmacy and avoid the stress.

Wal-Mart said that if I really wanted the medicine that I would have to pay over $200. I called Caremark. They said I couldn't renew until July 6, a full week after my current inhaler would run out of doses. I called my doctor. They said, according to Caremark, that I couldn't renew until August.
I called Caremark and was told again, that I couldn't renew until July 6. I called again and spoke with someone else and they said that I had to get my doctor to approve a 90 day supply and that I needed to call Wal-Mart and have the medicine sent by mail. I called Wal-Mart and they said they don't do mail. I called Caremark again and they finally told me that I need to do my medicine via CVS. So, I have been getting my prescriptions renewed at Wal-Mart for the last 7 months for medicine other than Advair, and two or three months for Advair. So now Caremark tells me that I need to go to CVS. Does Caremark offer an illiteracy test to hire its employees?! Is this the future of healthcare in the U.S.?

I am an employee of CVS Caremark, an executive actually. I walked into a first hand view of the real CVS Caremark. After being told the malarkey of how great CVS was at pharmacy benefits and its dedication to assisting employees, I quickly realized their bottom line is money. CVS Caremark denied a commonly prescribed medication stating it required prior authorization. In their "process" (which was a thinly veiled attempt to screw me and save money) they wanted me to try alternate medications that did not work for me in the past.
How dare a physician's assistant or nurse believe and act as though they know more than my doctor of four years. How dare CVS Caremark belittle my medical condition in this process. You would think a pharmacy benefits company would at least treat their employees better. CVS Caremark cares only about money and nothing else. Terms like integrity, honesty, sincerity, responsibility, moral and even caring mean absolutely nothing to these people.

First problem--sign up. Horrible website sign up. It took me over an hour to sign up on the website. I work in the IT field. I have over 25 years of background in computers, internet, and I support customers around the world. Second problem--communication. Called doctor to tell them to send the prescription to CVS/Caremark. Contacted CVS and they claimed the Dr messed up and didn't send the Rx. I called the doctor and they said that yes the script was sent. Third problem--run around. So I contacted the doctor again to get them to send another prescription to the local pharmacy. I then contacted CVS to let them that I didn't need it that month, only to be told that "oh we found it," but by this time I had already had the refill in hand from my local pharmacy.
Fourth problem--lost in the mail. Then when the first refill was sent via mail...it got lost. I had one day left when the prescription was due to arrive. It took 7 days to go 60 miles--this normally takes one day for most deliveries. I had to go back to the local pharmacy and pick up another refill. It was very convenient that I had a spare prescription and was able to go to the local pharmacy to cover the week that I would have been without due to the inconvenient delay caused by CVS/Caremark shipping. Fifth problem--expense. I have spent about 10 hours of personal time and at my rate of pay, it will take over three years to save what this plan has cost me.

Caremark sent it to the Pennsylvania office, then Pennsylvania office sent it to North Carolina. North Carolina has to verify benefits. My local CVS had already verified my benefits. Called back for more information and told now something completely different again. They were very polite explaining to me that they had no idea what they were doing. My prescription drug coverage gives me a 90-day supply of medications per co-pay. I have been on the same asthma medicine for YEARS which includes one called Symbicort. If I don't refill my prescriptions within a 6 month period, then they claim they only have to provide me with 30 days for the same co-pay for two cycles. The problem is, I've never missed a dose. The inhalers come two or three at a time and each inhaler gives me 2 months worth of medicine. I explained that I got three inhalers last time, that it was enough to provide me with six months worth of medicine and that THAT was the reason for the lapse, and they still refused to provide me with the 90 day supply they are required to supply. They claim it is akin to a "do over" and I have to go through the introductory period again.
Please note that my Singulair generic tablets, on the same prescription, and with a face value of $12, has been filled regularly with no issues. But Symicort is $290 an inhaler, so my doctor's office has to "confirm" the prescription every time I refill it, IN ADDITION to the runaround I already receive. CVS Pharmacy has repeatedly disappointed me. Today was no different. My doctor doubled the amount of a certain prescription I am taking. His office emailed the new dosage prescription to the local CVS pharmacy and CVS Caremark mail order. I had to get a small amount immediately at the local CVS because I was running out and the CVS Caremark mail order pharmacy wouldn't be able to mail my new prescription in time. Long story short, CVS never sent an override to my insurance company noting the new dosage, so my insurance company denied it as they did not know my dosage had been doubled. It is the responsibility of CVS to give the insurance company this information. They did not. So after spending an hour on the phone with my insurance company, (who contacted CVS Caremark and the local CVS pharmacy), everything was finally straightened out. At least I thought it was.
The local CVS pharmacy then called me and said they didn't have my prescription in stock. It would be three days for a new shipment. This is a common medication and I live in a major city, not in the boondocks! I asked the pharmacist for a number where I could speak about their poor service. Guess what? He (all of the sudden) "found" my medication and filled it. Also, at another time a few months ago, I had surgery and was prescribed a standard pain medication. Of course CVS didn't have it in stock. They told me because it was a narcotic that they are limited in the amount they could order. They are not allowed to let me know when or if they would ever get it in stock and they are not allowed to check with other CVS pharmacies to see if they have it. I went to Walgreens and got it filled. No problem there. Just the typical experience I have at CVS pharmacy and CVS Caremark mail order pharmacy.

They waited until I was out of my insulin for over a week before dispensing it, then over two weeks out of Victoza before they sent it... by the time I got those meds, my blood sugars were out of control. I now have RX's in for needles and Lipitor, they received the RX on May 28th, and on their website it has said for the last 3 days that they are dispensing them... however, nothing about them being sent. During February 2015, we decided to take advantage of what was described to us by a CVS/Caremark customer service representative as an offer whereas we pay only one co-pay for all of our diabetic supplies purchased at that time, instead of paying each items co-pay. We ordered our supplies through our regular pharmacy, NOT CVS, and were advised they could not run the offer through. We contacted CVS and were advised it must be the pharmacy not running the prescription correctly and have them do it again. After several such tries, we were advised the pharmacy could not run the prescriptions as CVS had instructed. We advised to hold the order and we would recontact CVS for further instructions. After several hours of being on hold, dead end transfers, dropped transfers, we did manage to speak to a representative who stated it may be a systems issue on CVS side.
While at our pharmacy, we were on the phone with the representative and our pharmacist was on the phone with CVS Help Desk to work through the issue and they still could not process our order. After three hours of this, the representative, on a recorded line, advised us to pay cash for the co-pays and CVS would reimburse us for the costs, as this was their issue. He even went so far as to tell us he would email us the reimbursement forms. We confirmed this advice several times with him and had our pharmacist confirm the same information prior to doing as instructed.
Fast forward to the end of March 2015, we had not received any emails from CVS nor had we been successful in speaking to anyone regarding this issue. We were once again in need of supplies and spoke to a different representative. We went through the same sickening process of trying to get the order to go through CVS, but to no avail. We did not spend the hours as last time and only paid cash for a partial supply. On April 6, 2015, we called CVS customer support to inquire about the reimbursement forms again and actually speak to someone about the process. After being transferred to the Internet Help Desk twice, we got someone to understand we did not need assistance with that. After speaking to this person, we were advised she could not provide us with our reimbursement. We became upset and requested to speak to a supervisor, to which we were told no, we would not be given the opportunity to speak to one.
My spouse and I would trade off and on during the phone conversation as our level of patience waxed and waned. It was during one of the times I was on the line was I advised a senior representative would be able to assist me and I was immediately placed on hold. When the person picked up, I retold the complete information from the beginning. It was a struggle. Not because of my emotions, but because of the interruptions and her talking over me. I wish they were to ask questions, but they weren't. I stopped talking and listened and then requested the same. This is what I discovered: CVS does offer a one time diabetic co-payment program. However, it is only if you order online, through their store, and a 60-90 day supply. No one advised us of this. NO ONE. Also, CVS does not send any documents via email, ever. We were then advised reimbursements do not occur.
The conversation escalated from there for over a hour. I strongly requested the phone records be examined for what was advised to us and the reimbursement be provided. She stated she would submit the request, with the review process taking 72 business hours, or 9 working days. As this was a Tuesday, I advised I would be calling at the end of the week for an update. When I called on April 10, 2015, I was advised by a CVS representative a check for the complete amount of our reimbursement amount had been authorized and in process to be sent.
To date, June 3, 2015 CVS has lied about the issue date on more than four occasions, denied a check was being issued, stated they could find no record of conversations, and have, and I really hate to use this word, provided the very worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I had gotten so terribly bad, I brought my employer in to assist, as they are the ones who pick CVS/Caremark for the pharmacy benefit. CVS has even played the same games with them! I called Customer Care and was told that I only cancelled auto-refill and NOT auto-renewal, and therefore the prescription was renewed automatically. Although very frustrated and out $65 for medication I do not want or need, I realized I was going nowhere with the rep and asked that the auto renewal be cancelled as well.
When I went to my health portal to check on this, I saw a notice that if I was not given 10-day notice before medication is sent that I would be able to send it back for a full refund including postage. Long story, even longer, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a rep this morning (most on hold while he checked with a "senior manager"), I was told that they are not aware of any such policy!!! The website for Caremark said my Novolin R insulin was being auto refilled now last week. After not receiving it within several days (insulin is supposed to be overnighted) I called this past Monday and was told they had no record of it being filled and had no explanation as to why and why the website said it was being refilled. I was told it would be filled and I would receive it by Thursday of this week. I still haven't received it as of Friday (today). This morning (also Friday) I received a call from Caremark asking to verify my address. I verified it and asked why they needed this as I have been with them for some time and have always had the same address and no one has ever asked this before. They had no explanation.
Then the rep. asked if the prescription was for my husband and gave a totally different name for him. I told the rep. that was not my husband's name (the insurance is through his work and they require using Caremark) and that the script was for me and they should be able to figure that out since I've been ordering the same insulin for a long time under my name. Once again, no explanation, just said they must have made a mistake, apologized and hung up. 2 minutes later, the same rep. called again and said they made a mistake and can see that it is me that ordered the med and asked again for my address and said the med. had been shipped 5/6/15. I waited until almost 8pm on Friday in case it was being delivered late by UPS or FedEx but no delivery.
I called again, this time was told it was shipped on 5/5/15 even though the website says 5/6/15. I asked do they think they may have shipped it to the wrong person or address, again no explanation except that if this happened they would have to wait 15 days to re-issue it. I asked what do I do in the meantime when I run out of insulin. I was told to have my doctor order it through a local pharmacy, that the pharmacy would receive a message from Caremark that the local pharmacy would not be allowed to fill it but they could request Caremark to override it and allow the local pharmacy to fill it. I said I can only imagine how long that would take considering how they had screwed up so much already. Again, no explanation, just a pat apology.
Now, does anyone want to make any bets as to when and if I receive this med? This is not the first time I have had problems with Caremark, just the latest in a long line of screw ups but enough to finally make me complain to someone about them (had to use this website since there is no one to complain to there). I have had to use the assigned mail order pharmacies that my husband's work/insurance requires and have been through Cigna, Express Scripts and now Caremark. While Cigna and Express Scripts did have some minor problems, they were nothing compared to Caremark. To anyone reading this, DO NOT USE CAREMARK if you can possibly help it.

I called the Specialty Pharmacy who stated "they never billed my credit card and had sent billings to me six times." Out of six bills, how could AT LEAST one not been received at my billing address? I still have yet to receive the original bill.

I'm a bad diabetic and take insulin. I tired to refill my Humalog on Saturday and the drug store called and informed me that CVS Caremark will not cover it anymore. So I call CVS Caremark and got the most rotten guy on the phone. He stated that I need a pre auth on this med. I stated to him that I never got any letter stating this in the mail. He told me that they do not sent letters out. I asked him then how would I know that I would need a pre auth. He was mumbling on the phone with no answer. All he said that they can not override this and I would have to wait until my doctors office opens on Tuesday.
SO by luck I got the doctor to send in the pre auth on Monday. When I called to see if they got it they stated yes but it will take 3 days to get this approved!!! I was so mad I told the girl "you know you are playing GOD with my life. I can died from not having my insulin." She said "there was nothing I could do!!!" So here I sit waiting with no insulin. First, after 4 months, CVS dropped me from my Medicare Part D which I have through CALPERS. The nightmare started when I got a letter from CVS saying I would be dropped for not paying IRMA. However, I had paid IRMA in full as billed by the Social Security Administration. I have to pay IRMA by check through my bill pay as I have a very high income but a tiny social security benefit; there is not enough left in my benefit to cover IRMA after the Medicare tax is taken out, so I pay out of pocket.
My payment covering the first three months was considered late because I had scheduled the payment to arrive the day it was due. I did not realize that unlike other billers I deal with, Social Security does not credit the payment the day it arrives. It apparently takes up to two weeks to credit the payment. However, a Medicare customer service representative verified that the payment had been received, I was in good standing and that I would not be dropped from Medicare Part D. I conveyed this information to a CVS customer service rep. I continued to pay my IRMA two weeks early through the end of the year. I made my January payment. In March I received a check for the amount of one month IRMA from the Federal Treasury.
That is how I found out CVS had dropped me from my Part D as of January 2015 even though I had paid my IRMA regularly and was in good standing with the Social Security Administration. It took countless hours on the phone with CVS, CALPERS and Medicare to figure out what had happened. The lower level customer service reps at CVS and CALPERS were basically clowns. Finally I got a hold of someone higher up at CALPERS who helped me straighten it out. Fortunately PERS had covered me when I was dropped (however without informing me) via the plan I was under before I had retired so there would be no break in my coverage.
Now CVS is forced to reinstate me supposedly on May 1, 2015. We'll see. The fact that they didn't verify my Medicare Part D IRMA status before they dropped me is unconscionable. Fortunately as a retired public employee I had access to a drug plan even though I was dropped from the one I was supposed to be on, but what happens to people who CVS messes with who aren't so lucky and maybe need chemotherapy or a maintenance drug to survive? As for me, CVS forced me to waste countless hours talking to know nothing customer service reps in order to understand and solve my problem. I finally got a Medicare representative from the problem solving unit (can't remember what they call it) to get on a three way with someone at CVS and found someone at CALPERS in a position to make CVS reinstate me.
Another issue I've had with CVS is the lackadaisical way they fill my maintenance prescriptions. On April 15, 2015 I ordered a 90 day supply of my statin. Nine days later I had still not received the order. Now I'm out of the drug. I called CVS a few minutes ago. The customer service rep told me (after a long wait on hold--par for the course with CVS) that my prescription had been mailed but there was no tracking on it. I said "I need the prescription can you please send it out?" Well, "no. It can't be ordered again for 15 days." I said "surely I can pick it up at the pharmacy." Well "yes but you have to pay additional for it." I said get me a supervisor after I realized I was going in circles with this woman. More delay.
Finally I got a supervisor who basically reiterated what the rep had said, but with a slight change: I could get a ten day supply at no charge that would be taken off my 90 day supply and if I didn't get the order by April 30, I would have to call back to reorder (so the burden is on me, not CVS). I was then transferred to the pharmacy--more delay. I was told I couldn't pick it up from my local 24 hour CVS pharmacy until the following day. When I complained that I would have gone four days without my medication, the pharmacy tech said she would call the pharmacy to see if I could pick it up that night. More time on hold.
Yes, as it turned out, I can pick it up at 9pm. We'll see. I was also told (blame the consumer) that I should have placed my order two weeks before I ran out in case something like this should happen. That tells me this is a common occurrence with CVS and not an anomaly. What a colossal waste of time and energy dealing with CVS. I fervently hope CALPERS drops CVS the next time their contract comes up for renewal. I doubt if any other company could be worse.

We call them 3 times but they are not accepting these back. They say they tried to call us. If they are mailing medication they should mail a letter before that informing us this would be shipped since they were unable to talk to us over the phone. All they care is $69.32 from us. But I'd like to report that after three months as a customer everything has gone about as well as it could. All my prescriptions were successfully transferred over from the previous mail-order supplier, and my new meds received from CVS in a timely manner with status updates all along the way. When it came time to renew I received an e-mail and everything proceeded as smoothly as the first time. I should probably mention that my three prescriptions are all for relatively common meds, so I haven't pushed the envelope at all.

After much waiting on hold and challenging the various staff (four different people I had to speak to) at Caremark, they agreed to give me brand name Synthroid at generic prices. In the past, they filled the Synthroid once with a generic and I called and requested it to be brand name always and they agreed and only charged generic prices. This is because my doctor says the generics are NOT good equivalents, and apparently there is substantial research to back this up.
This last time I refilled, they claimed that because my doctor wrote "do not substitute" on the prescription, that they were entitled to charge me $52.20, rather than $10. They stated that they always fill with brand name for this drug and that the doctor "needs to write 'substitution with generic o.k.'" for me to get the brand name Synthroid at the generic charge. On what planet that this makes any sense I don't know. But they did reverse the charge and refund $42.20. At least they said they would. So don't back down and demand they charge you only your co-pay for generic price for synthroid ladies.

I have had several issues with CVS Caremark. The customer service is horrible. They are rude and will not let you get a word in. The last lady I spoke with today was yelling at me on the phone. I wished the company recorded these conversations, it is shocking. On a separate note, a few weeks ago I was running out of my prescription for my hypertension. As usual I used their automated system to enter in my prescription number for refill. A few weeks later I received an antibiotic in the mail. At this point I was almost out of my blood pressure medication.
I am not sure why they sent me 90 days worth of an antibiotic when I requested a medication for my blood pressure. I called again and the conversation went nowhere. I just need the company to know that their employees have horrible costumer service and I dread working with them (as a provider as well). There also needs to be a closer eye on the medications being mailed. By their way the company also automatically billed me for the antibiotics that I did not order. I now have medications I did not ask for and a bill I am stuck with.

Of note, that same prescription was $84.53 at a local K-Mart and a comparable price at Target in Valparaiso, Indiana. There is NO justification for a commonly prescribed antibiotic to cost that much in this or any other universe. The clerk made no offer to explain the difference in pricing nor an apology for the exorbitant cost of same. How is it possible/why are they allowed to charge such ridiculous prices? What makes their prescriptions any more valuable to the everyday consumer? It's pretty clear that CVS Caremark is making medical decisions about your care as a Pharmacy service. But for the Mail-Order service, phone center staff, account supervisors, and poorly managed quality control are resulting in bad medical management which increases risks with your health. Please write ghost letters for your Physician to sign and send them to the American Medical Association and to a local newspaper for editorial. American medical care is worsening not because of government funding programs but because of very very poor administrative and business processes involved with medical care that is out of the hand of your physician and most everyone else.

Google generic vs. Brand name. Generic drugs do not need to be even chemically exact to brand. CVS, especially their highly self-touted "Specialty Pharmacy" (LOL) under all the plans being sold to the government and large companies, pushes cheap generics first, will sell brand at the agreed-upon policy price IF generic is not available, but demanding Brand when generic is available gives CVS Caremark "permission" to charge an unspecified random penalty. But, the penalty definition is not discussed in any of the company's pre-signup documentation.
The thousands of dollars in penalties per 90-day supply don't bother me much, I can afford them. What bothers me is that for most high level diseases such as transplants (I'm a kidney transplant) or chemical imbalance/depression, GENERICS ARE NOT THE SAME AS BRAND! In late December 2014, a generic form of Myfortic anti-rejection for kidneys came out. CVS didn't send letters or call, they just switched my prescription (placed 3 days before the release) to be picked up at the end of December. I caught it and refused to switch. The cost jumped from $25 to the penalized $1300 for 30 days supply.
My teaching hospital has done a study and released a technical paper that shows that in the 2.5 months since CVS has forced this change to generic Myfortic on an unwitting public, the cases of rejection at their facility have jumped from <10% to greater than 30%. My physical therapist wife quit her job in order to spend 10 to 15 hours a week trying to resolve issues around each drug I have to order through these unresponsive zombies. Their job, apparently, is to pass the buck from Caremark to Specialty Pharmacy, because neither can answer the most basic questions.
Not only should the screwed up state of healthcare be addressed by every member of all parties and branches of government - and quit barking about the glorious attributes of Obamacare - but CVS Caremark needs to be called to testify about the murders they are committing. We already seen that they are wantonly killing transplant patients - many of whom are shareholders through their 401k's. Since government runs at a glacial and unhelpful pace, I OFFER MY SUPPORT TO ANY AND ALL INDIVIDUAL AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST CVS CAREMARK AND THEIR SPECIALTY PHARMACY DIVISION.
Since there are no direct lines to actual customer support or advocacy, this is our only way to approach this company because that is how they want it to be... difficult. Finally, my healthcare provider is completely separate from my drug policy, and Cigna has been 100% reliable to work with, 180 degrees the opposite of the thieves at CVS. CVS is not an example of a good American company, and jail time is the only remedy for their leadership.

Called in a refill for my Lantus insulin on Saturday 3/21/15, was told it would ship Monday. No call on Monday, called CVS Caremark for a status update. I was told that I hadn't paid for the prescription and it was on hold. I assured the rep it was paid for b/c I had supplied my credit card on Saturday. The rep finally put me on hold, came back about 3 minutes later and said "yup it was paid for, it was just hiding from me", and I was assured the insulin would be shipped Monday for a Tuesday delivery.
When I got to work Tuesday, on voice message from Caremark, they normally call and advise when orders ship. I called Caremark again. Today I was told that my insulin was on hold and I asked why. This time I was told that it is a "high dollar prescription" and their system automatically does that, so they can call the customer to make sure they know the cost. I asked why would they put it on hold to call me if I was the customer calling in the refill and fully knew the cost. I was then told it's because their "system isn't smart enough to know the difference between a Dr's office calling in or a customer".
This totally didn't make sense to me because when I call in I give my name, member number and credit card number to pay. I realized this girl didn't know what she was talking about, so I hung up and called back and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor checked my account, could clearly see that my insulin was held up but he didn't know why. There was no "high dollar" hold as one rep told me and he explained that only applies to orders over $250, my Lantus is $198/month. This supervisor finally contacted the pharmacy and my insulin was finally shipped that day and I received it on Wednesday.
Thursday I go into work and there is a message from CVS that my insulin is ready to be refilled and I should call them to refill it. They have NO clue what they are doing. I am a Type 1 diabetic and can't afford to play games like this. I have to deal mail order because I can't afford a 90 day supply at the local CVS, which would be $600. The first group of prescriptions that were sent in took almost 2 weeks to get back even after paying for updated shipping. We received no phone call about the "problem" they were having and after calling every single day up to 3 or 4 times a day, emailing 2 or 3 times a day every day and even writing letters, they still didn't worry about filling the prescriptions in a timely fashion. We overnighted the prescriptions and they were marked received at 10 am the following the day. Caremark did nothing with them until the next day.
This now brings us to Thursday. It wasn't until Friday that they decided to try to contact the doctors office, which is closed on Fridays, and never once tried to contact me. I even sent in a letter asking that if there are any problems to please call me. Do you know what they told me about that letter? DO NOT SEND ANY LETTERS OR CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE PRESCRIPTIONS AS THEY ARE NOT READ OR KEPT ON FILE. Seriously? So on Monday, the doctors office gets back in touch with them. This jacked up company still didn't mail anything out until Wednesday. So, needless to say, my husband had ended up in the ER over that weekend due to not having his medications. We were willing to give it one more chance on month #2, this month.
We mailed out the Rxs over night on Tuesday. They received them 10am on Wednesday. They still did nothing with them until Thursday and guess what? They had an issue but never called to tell us that they did. We informed them that the doctors office is closed on Fridays and that they need to do something about getting prescriptions filled in a more timely manner. So here it is Monday of the following week. Husband was back in the ER over the weekend and we still have no medications. We are NEVER dealing with this "company" again. We would rather pay out of pocket for his medications and know we will get them in a 2 day turn around time than deal with medical bills incurred because of Caremark's incompetence.
Before I close, I do want to say this as well. We got that straightened out and today I received from CVS Caremark the WRONG medicine... I had Express Scripts before and never had a problem.

I am forced by 3M (employer thru which I have medical insurance coverage) to use CVS Caremark as my prescription drug provider. Over the last several years, CVS Caremark has exerted more and more pressure on my physicians and me as to what medications my physicians can prescribe. In 2014, CVS Caremark began attempting to dictate not only the medication prescribed, but now they are attempting to assume authority over which physicians I can see, which medications they can prescribe, and not only which drug stores I use, but the actual number of drug stores where I can get a prescription filled.
I have two very serious health conditions for which there is no cure, that require treatment (including medication) not only from my primary physician, but specialists as well. In May of 2014 I had an accident in which I suffered a back injury that includes two torn discs. At the time of the accident, my primary physician was not available, and I saw an alternate physician, who prescribed medication and treatment, and instructed that I follow up with my primary physician once he was available. I used the medication as prescribed, and did follow up with my primary, which ordered x-rays and prescribed additional medication and treatment. I also saw a provider for therapy, hoping to avoid medication & additional treatment.
My symptoms became worse, to the point that I could not walk without dragging my left leg, and there were times when my left leg gave way completely when I tried to walk, which caused me to suffer multiple falls. I contacted the office of my primary, which was out of the country. I was referred to another physician for care until my primary returned. During this time, I had additional x-rays and an MRI which revealed the two torn discs.
Finally after more medication and treatment which didn't resolve the back issue, my primary referred me to an Orthopedic. The Orthopedic did additional x-rays and ordered a procedure to be done in the hospital, which did not work. I was then referred to a highly specialized Neurosurgeon who reviewed my x-rays, MRI results and previous treatments & medications. He then recommended a course of treatment which included three procedures done in-hospital by an associate of his who is a Neurospine Specialist, a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the International Spine Intervention Society.
In addition to the physicians treating my back injury, obviously I have kept in touch with my primary, and have required treatment from the specialists treating the diseases I deal with that are not related to my back. Toward the end of 2014, I received notification from CVS Caremark that they had concerns that I was seeing more than one physician, more than one physician was prescribing medication for me, and I had used more than one drug store. (Duh!!!) CVS Caremark threatened to restrict my prescription drug coverage, strongly insisted that I must see only ONE physician, and notified me that they would be sending a letter to each physician who had prescribed medication for me.
Since 1-1-15, I have seen my primary and one of the specialists who treats an on-going serious health condition, and have re-filled routine prescriptions treating the above-described issues. In February, I saw my primary, and he and I discussed the CVS Caremark threats. In my medical records, he has the information regarding which physicians I either see on a regular basis, or have seen during the past couple of years, as well as medications prescribed.
On 3/9/2015, I received an even stronger threat from CVS Caremark regarding the number of physicians whom I have seen and that have prescribed medication, and the fact that I have used more than one drug store, and informing me that CVS Caremark was sharing this letter with any and all physicians who had treated me and WOULD restrict my ability to fill prescriptions to one drug store. Note: NONE of the letters from CVS Caremark had a telephone number to which I could direct inquiries.
At this point, I contacted CVS Caremark Customer Service through the telephone number listed on the back of my prescription drug card. The person that I reached at CVS Caremark Customer Service treated me with respect, listened to what I had to say as I explained my entire health situation, how I had been referred from one physician to another for the back injury issues, the fact that some of these physicians are not in my home town, and that I get prescriptions filled in the cities where those physicians are located. I requested that CVS Caremark contact my primary physician to verify my health situation and information, and that they cease sending me threatening letters, as well as letters to every physician who has prescribed medication for me. She was not able to answer my questions in full, and referred my "case" to the "CVS Caremark Resolution Team."
I received a call back within 24 hours from the CVS Caremark Resolution representative who basically told me that because I had seen multiple physicians who prescribed medication and I had used at least 3 different pharmacies in the last three months, I have been placed on a list called "Enhanced Safety & Moderating Solutions" which is their "watch-list". I went through my medical history AGAIN with this person, explaining what diseases I have, who treats them and how they are treated, the accident in which I suffered the back injury and detailing of the back injury is as well as the treatment methods used, procedures performed, medications prescribed, and that my primary is aware of all of this information.
She took very strong issue with the fact that I have had to see multiple doctors (again, Duh!!!) and used more than one drug store. In addition, one of the medications that I take for a particularly painful serious health issue apparently is either in short supply, or is not used by a large number of patients. When I went to my local CVS Caremark to get that prescription filled, they did not have the medication in stock, and it was going to be several days before they could get it.
They suggested that I try another drug store, which I did, and was fortunate that Walgreens had a few of the capsules in stock, but not enough to fill the entire prescription. The Walgreens pharmacist was kind enough to call around until she located another drug store in town that did have the medication in stock, and I was able to get the prescription filled at Rite-Aid. I was told by the CVS Caremark Resolution Team representative that in no case is it acceptable to visit three pharmacies in two days, no matter what the reason is.
Further, the CVS Caremark Resolution Team representative told me that I would continue to receive letters, and so will each of my treating physicians, every time I get a prescription filled or a new prescription issued. She told me that I am on their list and that there is no way that I can opt-out of the list, request to be removed from the list, nor is there anything I can do to stop them sending these letters to me, nor to my prescribing physicians. I asked to discuss the situation with someone else within CVS Caremark and she refused. I asked for a telephone number to contact someone else within CVS Caremark and she refused.
I then asked if this was a CVS Caremark policy or a 3M policy. 3M is self-insured and therefore they pay the costs associated with health care, including prescriptions, but contract with a company such as Blue-Cross Blue-Shield and CVS Caremark to administer the medical and prescription coverage plans. She told me this is a policy, period. I again asked specifically if this is 3Ms policy, and was told that 3M allows CVS Caremark leeway to use this policy that is also used by other companies in the US. I made an additional (third) request for a telephone number of someone else within CVS Caremark that I could speak with, and was again refused.
I ended the communication with CVS Caremark by telling her that I am specifically telling CVS Caremark NOT to continue sending these threatening letters to me and to my physicians, that I would make not only my primary care physician, but all of my treating physicians, aware of these conversations and issues, and that I intend to take up this matter with 3M. I was told that if I wanted to contact 3M, CVS Caremark could not prevent me from doing so. Then she had the nerve to thank me for using CVS Caremark???

After 2 weeks of phone calls and multiple forms being sent to my doctors, I am still being charged a $400 penalty for a medication that has been previously covered. Caremark states it's the "new plan." I have been on the same medication for heart arrhythmia for 17 years and insured with no problem by various companies including Caremark. Now suddenly they say I must try a new drug or be penalized the $400. Additionally it should be noted that Caremark requires their customers to fill prescriptions at CVS or not be covered at all. They allow one fill at other retailers, then refuse coverage. As CVS is more expensive than most other pharmacies, they are pocketing the difference. Avoid having to use this company at all costs. It is certainly a last resort insurance company. Don't expect coverage from them after you pay your premiums.

They slick though, they are not denying me, they just increased my co-pay from 25 dollars to over $700 dollars, as a penalty for going to a local CVS. Basically I needed an emergency 30-day supply.
Caremark are extortionist, who hold our lives in their hands. I've even had Caremark prescribe my meds instead of the doctor at times, by making the doctor change medication. What do we need doctors for anymore if Caremark is approving and prescribing our medications?! The representatives have no empathy and speak as if I'm asking for candy. Our HMO switched mail order firms this year to CVS Caremark. We had nothing but outstanding service from the previous company, ExpressScripts but Caremark, no so. We're on our second order and our second problem. The first issue, my wife's doctor sent in 3 prescriptions (Practically nothing was imported from the previous vendor despite them saying it would take a month to show up). Of the 3 submitted, one said there was issues and that they were contacting the provider.
After 5 days I called to find out what was going on. The person on the phone could not even find the order in his computer. I had to give him all of the Rx and order numbers from what I was seeing. When he found them, he had no idea what was wrong or why they were being held up. I hung up and called the doctor to see if they had heard from them. It's a small office and we know the person who handles the orders so when she said she never heard from them, I believed her. We were due to see the doctor in 3 days so I said, "Let's see what happens then." Magically, the scripts were shipped later in the day of the phone call. Ok, may it was growing pains.
Now for the second issue. My doctor sent in a script and it appeared on the website as the brand name drug and not the generic version which he ordered. I emailed and asked if that was an error and they said that it wasn't and that the doctor requested the name branded drug. I then requested a refill with the generic version and the next day it appeared as denied by the provider. Next I called the doctor again to ask for the generic version and he said that it was sent in that way but that they would send it in again. So now we're on the third request for a simple, uncomplicated medication and Caremark doesn't seem able to fulfill it. I'm still waiting but I have to say that these issues with our first two order is really poor service. I'm ready to move all our prescriptions to another pharmacy and kiss our long standing relationship with CVS goodbye!

And then after days of calls and various answers they did the override and I rec'd my meds from Amber. Guess what happened this month -- yes, the same merry-go-round -- depends on who you talk to as to what answer you get!!
They now tell me -- no, I cannot use Amber Pharmacy and have to use their site. They now have denied both pharmacies for my anti-rejection meds, They say the dr needs to call, which he already has, because I have access to my chart. They said now my drugs will cost $100 per med. I said I have never had pay more than $20 at my current pharmacy. Then as of today they said the dr will have to call because all they can run through is generic and on and on...
The red tape is ridiculous and tells me that they do not have an understanding of their own business and I am to trust them with my "life drugs" -- now I will be out of my meds in two days and with no answer from Caremark. This type of business is unacceptable and I encourage those who have a problem to turn in a formal complaint with both your employer and caremark. CVS Caremark filled it, charged me 105.00 on my debit card and sent me the medication. You can send it back but you still have to pay for it.
It was not their "error" per them. They got it, filled it, and yea- a call came automated of course-saying we got a new order in. Well my dr knew I needed all new refills on file for my maintenance meds so I assumed the dr had sent them there to be kept on file for when I wanted to order. Wrong. Here is how it works: they DO NOT verify if you are still taking the medication or not. You will hear no one ask you if you NEED the medications or want them placed on file. No one will ask if it is ok to charge your credit card.
Here is what happened to me: someone from my drs office sent in a prescription for a med I quit taking over a year ago. They filled it, charged my card 105.00 and sent it. So it was quote "the drs mistake." You are stuck with the med and no, you do not get your money back. Your bank account was over drafted? Gee that's too Bad. My advice to you dear reader-DO NOT put a credit card on file with them. Not that it matters. They'll just send a bill and turn you over to collections if you don't pay. After several phone calls to CVS I finally received my anti-inflammatory medication. But when I opened the package there was only one month supply which costs me $100 out of pocket. Before I ordered this prescription I looked up the out of pocket cost and it was $100 for three months. I called customer service and talked to a very nice person who actually wanted to help with my problem.
CVS said the problem was the way the DR wrote the script. Really! The script he wrote was for three months but CVS decided I should only get one month @$100/ month. The customer service rep said she would send the order in for review and see if CVS would send the other two months of medication to me and not charge me the $100 per month.
I have been using my employer prescription service for almost 20 years and have never had this much trouble with a pharmacy. It makes me think CVS hopes if they through enough road blocks I will give up and take a medication they want me to take (Cheaper Generic) that will not do the job. How can a pharmacy know what medication is best for a person?
Original Review: Jan. 31, 2015
I arthritis in both hands and have had surgery on both in 2014. My Dr. gave me a new anti-inflammatory to try. I had been giving another prescription and it did not work so my Dr said this was a new type of anti-inflammatory and see if would work. This was in 2014. After trying the drug for a couple of weeks I was feeling less pain and asked my Dr for a 3 month prescription with Caremark, which was my Cal-Pers prescription insurer.
I sent the order in on January 2015. And waited. I saw on my online order status that the prescription was on hold waiting for my Dr to give a reason why I needed this drug because it was not a generic and after 1/12015 any new non-generic drug needed pre-approval unless I had tried another generic anti-inflammatory in the past year or I had been prescribed this drug before 1/2015. I had both of these options done in 2014, so I was confused why they were not filling my prescription.
I called my Dr and they said they had sent in an explanation of why I needed this drug (it worked). I called Caremark and was told they had not received anything from my Dr. I told them that he had sent in the requested information over a week ago. They faxed it. I also asked why I was not grandfathered in because of my previous years use of this drug and also my use of a generic that did not work. I told the representative that I was out of the drug and really would like to have it filled.
As I was talking to her she all of the sudden said she would fill it and mail it out. She said that it had been approved. This was two weeks after I sent the order in. A couple of days later I received two letters from CareMark. One said my prescription had been denied and another letter dated the same day saying it was approved. I think CareMark would do anything to save a few dollars than to do the right thing in the first place and fill my prescription. As of today 1/31/2015, I have not received my prescription. This has been going on for three weeks.

It has taken over two weeks to get the RX transferred and hopefully now it has been. Each time I called I got a different answer or excuse as to why nothing was done. This pharmacy does not care at all about its patients. Why should they - the patient has no choice but to use them, so they can be as awful as they want.
They had our contact information incorrect and our son's birth date incorrect. That does not leave much confidence in them getting the RX correct. They say you can speak to a pharmacist, but the pharmacy is not open late nor on weekends. For patients who MUST have their medications this place does not instill much trust that they have your best interest at heart. Every time they said they would send. Never sent. Yesterday they said the same and then said they would overnight it. Today it did not arrive. Pharmacy customer service said it was paid for. Supervisor then said not paid for. Said it needed approval because of the cost. Said she would process it and send it. She said overnight means after it is processed so she doesn't know exactly when it will go out. I do not expect to get it. The medicine my son takes is not typically carried in pharmacies.
Fortunately I am a doctor in a large metropolitan area and our hospital has a six-day supply on the shelf that I will pay cash for until they can order more. I cannot rely on CVS Caremark to supply me with my son's seizure medication. What do all other non-physician Americans do when the pharmacy does not send them their medication? We call. No one knows any thing about them, nor my daughter. So we call Caremark. They have no info. I tell them. She now had only 2 days left of MEDS. They take the info and say, "Go to the pharmacy and pick them up." I go there and guess what? They know NOTHING ABOUT THEM. So the pharmacist calls them. They say, "Give her 2 days of MEDS and we will get them to you." Do since they have her med bottle with the script on it. They give her 2 days so we call 2 days later and no MEDS. No nothing. Call Caremark. 3 supervisors later we they say she's never been put in the system so I give them all her info from her med card. They then say, “We need her prescription.” I said, “It's at the pharmacy.” “We need it.” I said, “You could have told me this.” Then they said, "It would take a few days to get it processed." I said, “But she had NO anti rejection MEDS.”
Bottom line after 10 days, 9 phone calls, and 4 incompetent supervisors, we still had no Anti rejection MEDS and I went to get original prescription and went back to Walgreen to pay full price until this is corrected. And CVS WOULDN’T EVEN FILL IT IF I OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE MEDS OUT RIGHT. Bottom line is, this is the most ridiculous run company I have ever dealt with.

My wife employer decided to go with CVS/caremark instead of staying with Medco for prescriptions. I been using a pain patch for 5 years due to multiple disc problems in my back. They refused to pay for the refill, and stated it would have to have prior approval. Dr emailed all info and they stated it would be at least 72 hours before they made a decision, unless Dr call in. He did and was on hold for over 30 minutes, and had to hang up to see patients. They then sent a email for more info and they also will only paid for 12 of my nausea pills a month instead of 30.
How does a Drug Company know more about my health than my DR. I am 60 years old, they just want me to have issues and die. Medco was a GREAT Company to deal with, quick response to questions. I guess my Attorney will have to deal with CVS.

My first experience with the new form of Caremark leaves me less impressed than the past. Prescription orders took a week to process and then an additional 24 hours to ship. Expedited service was requested yet the order was shipped the slowest method available, adding an additional four days. I am unimpressed and will jump at the chance to switch services.

I only get paid once a month and my son is unemployed at the present time and cannot pay for my medications until next week. I spoke with Sierra at customer care, who said Caremark has to have a funding source before they can be filled.

Am HIV+. Called well in advance with an insurance change for a refill. Initial rep was rude. Called back to ensure proper refill. Now, order is delayed on delivery date for a signature. (First time in two years). Congrats CVS, you may have just signed my death certificate!

My dr. sent Rxs for medications that Caremark has filled for years, they received it on 12/27/14. When I called to inquire about them I was told that they were put in my Medicare account and that they would have to switch it over to my W.C. So I thought that all was taken care of - wrong. After calling again I was told something different. To make a very long story short, after calling 10 more times over the course of the next two weeks, all with them assuring me that my medications were on the way, each time I was told something different. They did at one point manage to send one of the medications. These are medications that I cannot just stop taking and they are very expensive.
Now tomorrow I have to go to the dr. because I am now out of the medication and they said they need a new Rx sent because there are no refills for this medication. What happened to the original Rx? I will get a new Rx but I will get it filled at a local pharmacy. I will never use them again, praying I am not forced to liked some people are.
