This is about the website. Happened twice -wrong items labeled. Incorrectly sent. Also no confirmation of order is emailed so there is often no record of order- Then they had wrong spelling of my email but also correct spelling! I am missing a whole order that was charged because they have no revive of it! You have to screenshot your order! Then customer service is like speaking to your confused grandmother -totally unprofessional and unhelpful and unapologetic and —unbelievable.

I have tried TJ Maxx many times but always walk out empty handed. In particular, women's clothing. The Goodwill has better selection. All of the clothing is cheap rags. The material is cheap, the styles are horrible, the selection is threadbare--yes pun, the sizing is arbitrary. If there is a chance at selection it's online. There is no style or selection for the price instore. I recall the days of Liz Claiborne where an entire season of style, quality fabric and selection were the norm! How does this place stay in business? All horrible clothing from China, and India. The accessories such as hats, belts, handbags are acceptable.

I made a purchase at a TJ Maxx of some candies, but they tasted awful! I tried to return them and was refused! I phoned the customer service number on their website and was extremely pleased with the response!!! I was phoned later in the day by that particular store manager who told me to please come in with my return, apologized profusely for the error made by one of her employees, and would like to not only process the return but give me a free gift as well!!! Finally, a company that takes customer service seriously! Thank you TJ Maxx!

What has happened to this store? TJ Maxx used to have fine quality clothes and accessories, many of which were made in Italy. Now everything is cheap, synthetic material. The styles are also not pretty. Whoever the buyers are for the store they do not have good taste. The clothes and accessories made in Italy are gaudy, status symbols. TJ is no longer the store for refined taste. Such a disappointment. Please bring back the old quality.

I wish I did not get this card. When I would use the card, TJX would change the credit limit, affecting my debt to credit ratio and negatively affecting my credit score. The APR also changed for no reason. Finally, when I stopped using the card as frequently due to these frustrating situations which happened on numerous occasions over several years- TJX closed my account without warning! This closure of a longstanding account also affected my credit score negatively through no fault of my own. I now have to file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies. I wish I just used my other credit cards for purchases at their stores- or cash. UNBELIEVABLE! Don't get this card.

I recently bought my husband a new winter wardrobe at TJ Maxx in Burnsville MN. His office is in Burnsville but we live in California. TJ Maxx has always been a go to for me for great deals at low prices. So I had no problems buying him over $200 worth of winter clothes. I purchased a pair of jeans for me as well. When I got back to the hotel, everything fit perfectly except one shirt. My jeans also fit but I noticed a large tear along the rear seam. I returned the following day to return the shirt and jeans, receipt in hand. After standing in a line for 30 minutes, they took back the shirt but informed me that my $16 jeans were non returnable.
I informed them that the jeans were torn and I did not remove any tags, but they said a tag was missing so they were not returnable. I said the tag they used to charge me for them was still on so surely they could use the same tag and receipt to do the return. They acted like I tore the jeans and implied I was trying to return worn and used jeans. They were non apologetic and rude. I am deeply disappointed and will no longer shop at TJ Maxx. If it weren’t for the fact that the jeans were only $16, I would have made a bigger stink. But on the flip side, it was only $16 so I feel they could have made the return. They sold me a pair of ripped jeans and refused to take them back. Shady business, dishonest business and now no more business from me.

TJ Maxx is a very welcoming store. Upon entering everyone is greeted with a welcome and given a sweet farewell as you leave the store. It’s evident by the shopping carts placed in the front of the store that someone has sanitized each cart. The associates appear pleasant and willing to take time to assist in helping find an item. Also, I appreciate that garments are neatly hung and the sizing is clear to the customer. I have always found the cashiers friendly and helpful with returns, too.

Someone signed receipt of return in their warehouse over 3 weeks ago and my account still has not been credited. I had to file a dispute and show proof the package was received in their location. A month later the charge is still on my account and the investigation is ongoing yet the tracking shows it was returned. Second time this has happened to me with TJ Maxx. So, we presented our phone with the virtual card but we were told that they don't process payments like that. That they need the actual card to insert to the terminal. My wife was shocked as she have done it multiple times already with the same store. But the associate was adamant that they do not process payments like that. Clearly a training was needed for that associate and other staff there about this type of payment method. On 7/3/20, I went to return a damaged necklace purchased 3 weeks ago out of state. The sales associate seem to be upset that I wanted to return it. She made a big deal about it being purchased a "couple of days ago". It was 6/17/20 when I purchased it. She (Tracy) asked me for the receipt. I told her, I have the receipt. SHE WAS RUDE! HER TONE WAS NASTY. Tracy called the manager, Jamila that appeared to understand the situation. Jamila stated she had to run it in the system because it did not have the original tag. It did.
She came back, said, it was not in the system but she looked it up in a book, the book said, the necklace was 14 kt gold when the necklace is 10kt gold. No where on the tag does it 14kt or 10kt. Therefore, she refused to return it. I had her called the out of state store because it still had the original ticket on it. She lied and said, it did not have a ticket on it but she took the ticket off the merchandise. After, I told her, she lied, she did tell them the ticket was on it but I was in Michigan now for the next month. I will not be able to return the damage merchandise. This is an example of poor customer service. Customers should not be denied refund or exchanges because a tag does not say 10kt, 14kt, or no kt. The necklace was $129 dollars. For customer service. I rate this store a zero!

I have gone home sick or had to leave early because my throat closes up, my eyes burn and my chest feels heavy. I took allergy meds before going to these stores but come home very ill.
I am going to see my doctor to verify this is or is not the reason I get ill every time I go into your stores. I love dogs and I know how important they are to their owners. But to risk the health of others is to say you favor customers who want to take their dogs shopping. Very disappointed. I have had so many cute items I returned due to being ruined by the sticker peeling off the print on items. It isn’t hard to stick them to the bottom or to a tag hanging off that has the original pricing on it. I get so frustrated by this cause a lot of their items they will not get in again so if you really liked something and the letters ext. get ripped off it’s not salvageable. You can’t even use a blow dryer to take them off at times cause the heat will take off the print. I hope they have their employees become more mindful of where they are placing the stickers. I would like you to know of my experience at the TJ Maxx store at the Houston/Katy location. First I would like you to know TJ Maxx is my favorite store to shop at, I've been shopping with TJ Maxx for many years and honestly even though it takes some time to browse through their wonderful store it's sort of like a shopping adventure for me as I do not enjoy shopping in general. Today after shopping for 2 hours I came to the clerk and she asked if I wanted a TJ Maxx card, she said I would save 10%, I said, "No thank you." When we got to the final total she said, "You will save $21 if you are approved for a TJ Maxx card," I said, "We don't want any more credit cards." She proceeded to tell me I would save an additional $10 that would be $31 of savings.
I said, "Hmmm $31, okay I'll do it." Went through the process of enter my info and while I was signing I said, "Ok I'm saving $31. Well that's worth it." After everything was signed she let me know I would not be able to receive the $10 discount until later with another purchase. I told her, "That is not what you said before," she told me I was mistaken, I told her I feel I had been tricked by the way she had worded the offer, she then told me I had misunderstood her. We went back and forth and I decided just to go ahead with only the 10% discount and use my own credit card, she said well you will not receive the 10% discount now because you must put it on your temporary TJ Maxx card. I was flabbergasted. None of this was explained to me!
I just went through this verbal exchange, entered personal info, I have an additional credit card I told you I really did not want, and now I won't even receive 10% off my purchase?? I asked to speak to a manager, she arrived, I explained what had happened, she disappears for a few uncomfortable minutes, returns and tells me there is nothing she can do for me, I will have to pay with temp card and receive my $10 coupon in the mail. What a waste of 2.5 hours of my time, my items I had really wanted and now I have a card from a company I no longer want to do business with. Had I known this would be the outcome I would have gladly paid $216 for my purchases, be on with my day with the items I was so excited to have in my home.
This clerk was dishonest and the management unhelpful. What happened to customer service? Had I been told I would only receive the 10% discount if I purchase my current items with my temp TJ Maxx card and I would receive my $10 discount by mail w/ additional purchase I would have forgone this experience. I was gifted 2 email gifts cards and decided to use them with my purchase today. The clerk that assisted me was sweet and pleasant. When we went to use the gifts cards for what ever reason they did not scan, the clerk says if they do not scan I think there isn’t anything we can do.
So at this point I’m thinking WTH. It's 2019. What do you mean nothing can be done. I suggest to her perhaps keying in the numbers would work, she replies as says to me it wasn’t something she can do. She goes and get the manager of the cashier named Yasmin. She was the most arrogant, lazy and useless person I had spoken to all day, And believe me when I tell you I deal with many people in a professional level. She has the snottiest attitude and no ** given. I questioned her and asked how could she possibly be the front cashier manager, no people skills or basic common sense. I decide before I curse her out and lose my cool I would drive back to work and print out actual copies.
I come back and that still wouldn’t register, at this point I am frustrated and I forgot to mention I'm with my 4 year old. The clerk said she would go get the manager of the store, as she goes to get her, useless Yasmin comes back to tell me the manager said if it can not be scanned then I would have to get new gift cards. I told her that impossible and I wanted to her that from the managers mouth as I couldn’t possibly believe they had 2 useless people running the store. Nella the manager comes, I explained my situation and she calls some number to ensure that gift cards are active which of course they are.
So here’s the kicker. She ends up manually putting in the numbers for the gifts cards. I questioned her and asked her why they couldn’t of done that the first time around. She apologized because what else could she do. They lack to understand the simplicity of just doing their job. You work for retail you see hundreds of faces a day, put a smile on your face and be customer centric or work else where. This is what happens when you hire young and foolish people.

I thought I had the perfect pair of optical frames from Tj Maxx online. They were advertised as Gucci frames in the tortoise pattern for under $150. The shipping took longer than usual with the estimated delivery date changing several times but still I thought nothing about it. The frame arrived in a small plastic pouch, separate from the case which was weird to me. I would think the case would keep the frames safer than a plastic bag but still the frames looked amazing. Until I put them on, the left side was way higher than the right side. It was so bad it covered my whole eyebrow and the other was clearly visible.
They didn’t seem so bad when I placed them on a even surface so I decided to take them to my optometrist hoping they could fix them but he wouldn’t even touch them. He told me to get my money back and there one of the employees noticed that on one of the legs had the Gucci logo and the other had the cat logo Versace usually uses. I was so embarrassed.
I quickly made my way to the nearest store to get my money back and let them I had been sold cheap knock off frames! But the girl didn’t even seem to care, she printed out a label for them and slapped it on and went about her day. I went home and wrote to tjmaxx support and today the only response was “we sell authentic designer brands.“ No explanation. No apologies, nothing! I shop at Tj maxx all the time so I find it hard to believe they would sell knock offs but my experience says otherwise so people be warned.

I ordered a small home decor item that sold out quickly on their website and it arrived broken. The item itself came in its own box that had sufficient packaging around it, but none inside the box to protect the figurine. So it jostled around the entire trip and was a mess by the time it got to me. Super frustrating, especially since I can't re-order the item, but I used their online contact form to send my order number and explained what happened. I got a call back from a customer service rep who made it right. I'm knocking a star off for the packaging and wish the shipping department would consider that merchandise boxes sometimes need peanuts or bubble wrap poured into them to fill the empty space.

When I called after shipment arrived with missing items I was told the tracking numbers must have been reversed. The next day the second item came - it was supposed to be 5 items and it was only one again. So, now it’s the weekend and I can’t get any answers until they open during regular business hours M-F. The customer service rep gave me erroneous information. And then went in to say if it’s lost I have to wait 8-10 days before they can do anything. Terrible customer service hours and have my money while I wait.

The TJ Maxx location I visited is a relocation. I'm not sure the reason for the move. The old location was much more accessible. The new location is not in a location I frequent. The in-store merchandising is too crowded--even more so than before. There wasn't enough room for customers to pass between the clothing racks. The selection of clothing was worse. While I found a few home and bath items that interested me, I will not be shopping there very often in the future. I will go to Target and Kohl's from here on out. There is plenty of room to navigate between the aisles and customers are not stumbling over each other. Plus the product selection is much much better.

I stopped by T.J. Maxx last week to finish off a card I was issued years ago. Upon entering the store, I scrutinized men's clothing, but, wasn't in need of anything. I looked throughout the store, but, again, couldn't find anything I needed. But, then, I found myself directly in front of the Jewelry section. I waited my turn to be served, and as I surveyed the counter, there wasn't anything I particularly liked.
Then, Renee, who was extremely competent, affable and helpful, stirred me over in another direction, where I saw merchandise that captured my fancy. I looked at several rings, and finally chose one. Renee informed me about its designer, composition and assisted me in espying how it looked on me. It wasn't priced, and so Renee had to get the price tagged on it, and then, see returned, polite and professional as ever, and proceeded to ring up my bill. It was a welcomed experience, particularly, with so much incompetence, today. Renee is definitely an asset to T.J. Maxx store; I hope she's there whenever I venture in...

Mind you not yet once being able to shop on the site. No, they won’t do that. Someone will contact you which never happens. I’d like to know why they will not do as I request? It’s not rocket science to figure out that that’s what needs to be done. But instead they would rather leave a customer without use of the site. Hmmm must be making too much money. At the Morganville, NJ store between 11am and 11:34am per cashier's receipt a youth probably 14 or 15 was walking back and forth behind me and then again passing me numerous times. I thought his actions were very odd but was always under the impression that we as shoppers were always protected INSIDE the store by a security team keeping a watch on our safety. The last time he passed me in a wide open area with absolutely no reason to make body contact, he brushed against my right side slipping my $100 bill out of my pocket and then immediately leaving.
When I told the store manager she informed me that security comes in periodically but has no idea when nor would they be able to do anything!!! She advised me that she would notify corporate of what happened to me. So my message is SHOPPERS BEWARE!!. We are as protected inside this store as we would be out on a street!! They absolutely were never worn, other than about 10 seconds in my kitchen when I tried them on. I thought there had been some mistake so I went through their appeals process and ultimately it came down to a small spot on the inner side of the shoe that looked worn. I thought the same thing when I opened the box, but it was not from me trying them on in my kitchen.
I’m not sure how their inventory is stored but the shoes probably sat in inventory for months in heat/cold which could have made a worn looking spot where the suede sat. The tags were still on, the shoes were never worn. I live in a small town and have to do a lot of shopping online. I’ve never had so much trouble with a store before. I will never order from them again. Very weird situation. I ended up filing a claim through my bank and was refunded the amount for the shoes.

My call was quickly transferred to a customer service AI, the information and payment history it gave me did not match the information and payment history I saw online on my TJX Rewards Platinum Mastercard account. Then I was given the option to proceed and speak with a customer service representative, and I said YES. Soon after, I was connected to a lady, whom asked for my name-which I gave, we exchange a few more words, however, she couldn't help me so she went on to tell me to stay on the line and I will be connected to another representative.
Therefore, I stayed on the line and I heard another AI ask for a 6 digit account number of some sort, I did not understand what it meant, so I stayed quiet hoping I will be reconnected to another rep., and I was. After the AI asked me 3 times, I was reconnected to another male representative, he asked the same question, from what I recall, something along the lines of, "Can I have your 6 digit account number?" I still did not understand, so I said something like, "Where can I find that, because all I see on my payment letter is my 16 digit card number."
All he proceeded to say was something like, "No, it's your 6 digit account number." So I logged back into my rewards account online, and was still very confused, so I asked him where I can find that, HOWEVER her just remained silent for a couple seconds and HUNG UP! What happened to my customer service?? And my unanswered question from an innocent loyal customer?? I've never experienced a customer service representative hanging up on me from any other department store before, how absurd.

I always shopped TJ Maxx and Marshalls for their low designer brands. I never cared if something was the latest in fashion, so when I could find it here it was good enough for me. But in the last five years I find myself returning MOST of my clothing purchases. Today's purchase is what prompted this review. Again, I get the stuff home, after trying it out in stores, to find defects. Always defects. I bought a linen blazer that fit me alright. I got home and found that the lining inside is all bunched up as if the fabric was caught under the stitching. And on the jeans I bought, one of the legs is turned funny so that the seam is turning out toward my knee. Another thing that I think about is the fact that some of the clothes look like they have been been picked over, trampled on, and been on the shelf for who knows how long... are just about the same price at some of the department stores. So I believe I'm done buying clothes here.

The shipping form had the right item description and pricing info. I called TJ. They apologized and said I could send them back for a refund. Ok, fine, I can go out of my way to do that since you can't go out of yours to send the right items, but I wanted the tables. Since there were 2 and they were shipped individually my assumption was there was disconnect in the warehouse and maybe the wrong item was pulled. So I'm asking how to get the right item and am told they can't guarantee that I will if I reorder.
I recalled seeing the same item online with the before-clearance price of $59.99 each and decide to check it out. I pulled up the table with both the regular price and the clearance price and see the issue. The item number is different, also the description is slightly different, but the photo is the same. Apparently TJ Maxx chose the wrong shipping method and it could not be delivered to a PO Box, so it was returned to TJ Maxx (every other online retailer has a system in place to alert you if an item cannot be delivered to a PO Box, apparently TJ Maxx does not).
I had to contact customer service - I asked if they could redeliver to the PO Box via regular mail, or send it to my house address. I got an email insinuating that this was my fault, and once they received it back, it would be logged as a return. I would have to wait for that to happen, then they would credit my charge card, and since I used a gift card for part of the purchase, they would have to reissue the GC and mail it to me. THEN I could reorder the sweater... Approximately a month after Christmas, I received an empty envelope from TJ Maxx with no GC...the saga continues. Terrible customer service, they really didn't seem to care - and one month later, I have not been refunded, nor do I have the sweater. It will probably be summer before this gets straightened out.

Asked again for a supervisor, got the same answer, she was even yelling at me and I hung up again because I am not about to argue with unprofessional people. My card was charged, I didn’t get my order, and if this is the type of staff they have on hand to help customers, then it is obvious why so many negative reviews.

I visited the store today in Alpharetta, Ga to return jewelry I purchased from this location a week ago. As I approached the counter the key holder was assisting someone else at the moment with a purchase which took about 5 minutes. Once she was finished she never acknowledged me. She walked off and then turned around as if she didn’t see me standing at the counter for the past 5 minutes while she completed a purchase and held a conversation with the customer. She did not greet me as I have normally been greeted in TJ Maxx which is disappointing and her actions was disgusting. She then went on to complete my return and when it was time to give me back my money she placed it on the counter which is beyond rude.

Illegal taxes on merchandise, broken merchandise, irresponsible customer service - all are with a red flag. One example out of numerous: I ordered two plaques for the wall. One plaque arrives. The price is 99.99 and the tax is $17. The tax in New York is under 9%. Then another huge box arrives with the item I even did not see on Internet. The price again is 99.99 plus tax $17. To handle this huge box in order to send it back was an experience in itself. The refund was 108.85. I already know that to call customer service is a sheer waste of time. Now every dish or small bowl with excessive tax is diligently returned into the store. The shop person's jaw drops, she calls for the manager. Good news - they return illegal tax manually. I just wonder if there is any organization to protect from the fraud?

BEWARE OF WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN TJ MAXX MAKES A MISTAKE! I am completely shocked at the terrible treatment that I experienced today with both TJ Maxx as well as Synchrony Bank (TJ Maxx credit card). I considered myself a Maxxinista for decades, but never again! I placed a large order today, and noticed in my email confirmation that my address was incorrect. I moved, and changed it at the site as well as the credit card. I even verified it before I placed the order. So I immediately called customer service. Not only were they not helpful (to say the least!), but downright rude.
My problem, too bad...if I wanted to make an address change, call UPS, set up an account and cause a re-direct of the package. I said that was crazy - I just placed the order minutes before. NOPE! Not going to help. I asked for a supervisor. Rudely told that no one else would help, I was wasting my time. I said that I would hold. And hold and hold and hold... Finally came back and said that no one was available. No one. So, I said that I would like to cancel the order. "No" I was told: too late. Can't cancel after an order is placed. I said this is crazy! I JUST PLACED THE ORDER MINUTES AGO. Didn't matter. I went on the TJ Maxx site and tried to send a complaint. It bounced back TWICE! (I saved copies of everything).
SO then I called the TJ Maxx credit card company. I said that I wanted to be sure that no charges went through today. The woman that answered said that she did see some charges from a few minutes ago. I said that I wanted to be sure they did not go through. She said that the only way to do that would be to file a complaint, and they have 60 days to respond. "What are you talking about? I do not want this order, I do not want these charges. The order will go to a wrong address and I cannot cancel?" She said, “Yes, that's right.” I said that I would like to cancel the card. She said "no problem, it is cancelled. Anything else I can do for you today?".
This is shockingly unbelievable lack of service. Not counting the fact that I was a perfect credit card customer, and a long time TJ Maxx customer. I have spent thousands of dollars here. SO BEWARE - as long as they do not make any mistakes, everything will be fine. As soon as they DO make a mistake, you are on the hook. They will not help, really don't seem to care, either. NEVER BUY FROM THEM ONLINE - and NEVER get a card from Synchrony Bank-Bunch of crooks.

I figured I'd find the right shirt with my suit and return the rest. Just kidding though! I went back to the store within 30 days with my receipt and they would refund me for an $80 shirt that I never even wore because it was missing some kind of tag inside the shirt. The security tag was still on it. Additionally, when I got home, the paper price tag had fallen off into the bag. A damn paper price tag tied in with string fell off the garment and they say they can't refund it because of that.
So they sold me a shirt with a missing tag inside and say they can't return it because it's missing a tag and they can't sell it like that. Well, they did sell it like that. To me. Yesterday I had the worst customer service experience ever. The location is at 171 W 230th street Bronx, NY 10463. The cashier I encountered yesterday thought it was okay to be extremely rude and not helpful. I initially informed her that I was doing two returns and purchasing more items so it could either be an exchange or a return. I did let her know that I did not have my receipt. While I was waiting for her to start the order she decided to stare at me for 2 minutes after which she started yelling at me, asking where the receipt was. I responded by letting her know that I had already informed her that I did not have the receipt but to let me check in my wallet for it. When I did not find it I let the cashier know and I told her that I would like to do an exchange.
She then started berating me, saying that it can't be an even exchange because I'm not getting the same items, to which I replied to her that I was fully aware of that. She continued on and on, so I just kept waiting for her to finish. She then took my ID and walked away, all the way to the other side of the floor. I looked at what she was doing since she took my ID with her. When she came back she told me I wasn't supposed to be looking at her at which point I reminded her that she took my ID so I wanted to see where she was taking it.
By this time I was close to canceling the entire purchase. After she rung me out she insisted in keeping my TJ Maxx gift card. I asked her for it back to which she said that it didn't have any money left on it. I told her that I still wanted it since it is my gift card. Her behavior was completely appalling. She then threw the card in front of me on the counter. The whole interaction with her was a very awful experience, when all I wanted to do was pay for my items and go home instead of being berated and treated very rudely by this horrible cashier.
Before I left I asked her for a second large sized shopping bag for my purchase which was sticking out of the bag that she packed. Instead of giving me another bag she asked another cashier to get it for me. The other cashier brought a small bag since she wasn't aware that I needed a big one. I asked her for a bigger one which she gave me without hesitation. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I felt like I was being bullied by this cashier, from the yelling to the throwing of my gift card and trying to reprimand me when I was concerned that she walked away with my ID. I did not see her name but I'm including a copy of both my receipts. I hope this cashier gets proper training because her behavior was appalling and lacked any kind of decent customer service.

I accepted a replacement for a ceramic pitcher and that one arrived in even more pieces. To be clear, there was not one dent in the outside box. The individual packaging for the pitcher amounted to one thin small piece of bubble wrap. For the 3rd time, I have been told I have to start the process from the beginning. When I received my card, I had the number listed on the paperwork but called to activate and said it was $1200. I was ok with that after they told me they had the right to change it during the process prior to sending it to me. I immediately set up and online account with them and did an auto draft payment set up. Being I did it over a month prior to the due date, I should be fine right. So they never drafted the money and I instantly got a late fee. I called them to pay the balance off and they refunded the late fee due to the online setup. NOW... here's where I'm mad.
My limit is now under $250... WTH. Why? They told me for a list of reasons, that my credit history had lack of payments on time, and all this other nonsense. My credit has been a borderline 700 on Credit Karma with a perfect payment history rate because I PAY EVERYTHING ON TIME AND MORE THAN WHATS DUE. My credit to debt ratio is only at 15%... that's less than the suggested 30%. I have no boo boos on my credit. I have lined up to $25,000 and as low at $1500... Where in the world to they immediately reduce my limit to under $250. I filed a dispute with them and with transition as their reasoning. Customer service was terrible and they offered no confirmation number or documentation of my dispute and said they didn't have the capability of giving me this information. They never are available and you are told they will call in 24 to 48 hours. I have never received a call back as requested. They are consistent with their orders--ALWAYS a problem; never ships when they said, never ships at all, and if it arrives damaged, they expect customer to do all the work. They ask for an email with a photo of damaged goods but said they will take 3-5 days to look it over and THEN decide what they what YOU to do.
Their online site has no email address for customer to use (gee, that would be too easy). I want YOU to correct your mistakes. I want a supervisor to be immediately available when there is a problem. I want an immediate credit--after all, you have my money before I even received your damaged products. They should close the TJ Maxx online site. I purchased 3 leather bags, all made in Italy. 149.00, 249.00 and 179.00. ALl on the same order. I received the 179.00 one by itself; the other 2 were to follow. I got a box a week later and the one for 249.00 was in there - however the other one wasn't. I called the next day as I work and they were closed when I received the box. I took back the one for 249.00 as it was way too big and bulky. After finally getting someone on the phone I was told they would send me one in 2-3 days as they still have them online. They asked if the box was damaged (it wasn't. It said 5 LBS and that was the weight of the bag and the box NOT 2. Total screw ups after this: I get an email stating they started an investigation. Good. They need to check their warehouse and cameras to see it was NOT packed in my box.
10 days later I get a rude notice from UPS; they want the damaged box and items that came (I already explained I took back the one to the store). I DID keep the box. I had a funny feeling that I would need too. No notice from TJ MAXX that they were sending UPS to pick up the nondamaged box - as I told them during 1st call. I wanted the missing bag.
Now I won't ever shop online again. I am not sure how this will turn out, I called them today and asked WTH? They said its just formality (stupid). I requested to speak to a supervisor (this was at 9 am). Crystal (who I was speaking to today for 30 minutes - more lost time on my end!) she said a supervisor would call me before the close of business. They never did. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I am going to file mail fraud if this is not dealt with this by the end of the week. I purchased a lot from them and I am not digging out other items I purchased this month to return. They also frequently send the wrong size/color - which sucks as they take 2 weeks to deliver. I am NOT paying for a warehouse person's purse!

I was in one of the Chicago stores buying a gift for a bridal shower, which was a lantern with a candle inside. The item did not have a price tag on it. As I handed it to the cashier she cut herself on a piece of sharp metal around the rim. I stood there stunned as she rang up the purchase and then put a bandaid on. I didn't even want to touch the thing after that, but I touched a part she hadn't and was about to leave the store. I decided to get back in line and return it for a refund. I didn't want to give a gift someone may have bled on and besides that, it was clearly dangerous.
Another cashier had to go through a long song and dance looking up codes and what not because the item did not have a tag on it. The cashier who cut herself even said she just bought it two seconds ago and she has a receipt, just refund the money on the receipt, but the other cashier would not make it that simple. I understand that when you buy online, they get 5-10 days to ship, but what kind of decent company with actual inventory needs to take that long? They split one of my recent transactions into two shipments and one of the items did not ship for 8 days. Clearly, they don't have items in stock like it says online.
The final straw with them is happening right now. I bought my mother a dress and jacket set for a wedding that does not take place for a month because I see how slow they are. It has been three full days now and the item is not close to shipping, and they don't consider Saturday and Sunday business days so it can't possible ship until Monday, but even that is doubtful. The item is now listed as ALMOST GONE, her size is gone altogether, so if they haven't already packaged her item for shipping; I don't know if we will even get anything. If someone paid for faster shipping and actually got it after we made our purchase, I'm sure they will be getting the item first even though we ordered first.

Then as I was paying I realized I didn't have enough for all my items so I put 3 items back. It may have been 3 maybe 4...
Anyway what I received in response was a rude annoyed cashier rushing me out the door and as a result to this I am now sitting in my car looking at my receipt realizing she did not take one of the items off but also did not give it to me so I was charge exactly $20 over the amount that I should have paid so now the store's closed and I'm worried that they are going to believe me when I go back to tell them this in the morning so I'm hoping making this complaint will help my case. Contacted customer service and was told it takes 5 days to process and an additional 5-10 for shipping however that’s not what is stated on website 5-10 days should mean entire process time and shipping time included. I see why a lot of business are failing they can’t hang with Amazon or Walmart shipping. So by the time I get my luggage I would probably have purchased the same thing on Amazon and have returned this to the store for a full refund. Thanks for wasting my time and yours.

DO NOT SHOP ON TJ MAXX WEBSITE, RIPOFF! I placed an order on TJ Maxx website on June 13, 2018. I didn't receive an immediate confirmation via e-mail, as I'm accustomed to when placing an order online from any merchant/company. On June 14, 2018, I contacted TJ Maxx customer service, and was advised that their website is currently down, and they cannot even lookup my order (with my order confirmation number), the excuse was they are in the process of updating their system, and maybe they can lookup my order by Monday, June 18, 2018.
After reading the numerous complaints against them it appears that this has been ongoing for a long time. They should have a disclosure on their website that informs the consumer/shopper of the issue. IT IS VERY CLEAR TO ME THEY ARE LYING, BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. If this is the issue they should not be accepting orders online until the problem is fixed. If I don't have a tracking number, or a confirmation on the status of my order by Monday, I shall contact my local ripoff news station and report them!!
AGAIN, if this problem is ongoing why hasn't TJ Maxx fixed the problem months ago?? They sound like a broken record every time you contact them about the status of the order.... "System is down." TJ Maxx, should not be processing and accepting orders online until the problem is fixed and should be disclosed clearer on their website. I will give you an update on June 18, 2018, (Monday) if they were able to resolve the issue and track my order.

Placed an order with multiple items online. Many times, they ship items separately which is fine. One of the items (which is the one I REALLY wanted), got damaged along the way and the UPS tracking information said that UPS would open a claim for it. It also said the item was discarded. I emailed TJMaxx about this and the response I got was that TJMaxx would open up a claim and wait to receive the return, and THEN refund me. How can you wait to receive the return package, when UPS tracking said they DISCARDED the item?
Also note that if you do NOT have the mailed receipt with the barcode on it when you return an online item, they will only give you store credit. They don't care if you have an email print out of the receipt or your ID. They will not grant an actual return unless you have the physical receipt they sent you. The way this business runs things is extremely outdated. I keep thinking a bunch of technologically inept individuals do it this way because they refuse to learn how to upgrade and get with the times. It was price high so I needed an associate to unlock the bag. I spotted a male manager that works there. He was helping another female customer. I said to him, "When you get a chance I would like to see this bag please." He said ok. After 5 minutes he came over to where I was standing. He look at the bag price which was $399.99. Original price $670. Anyway he said to me, "Are you buying this bag tonight?" I look at him a little crazy and reply, "I want to see how the bag looks on me first." Then he said, "I’m only asking 'cause layaway is closed for tonight." When I tell you I got a instant lump in my throat. I was like, "Why would you think I needed to do layaway?" He was like, "Just asking."
By this time my mom is upset. Then after all that he finally unlock the bag and hand it to me. I love it. But I couldn’t buy it. Not because of the price. Just that fast I was profile as someone who needed layaway. Don't get me wrong. Layaway is great when you don’t have all the money. That wasn’t my case at all. I gave him back the bag. He was like, "You didn’t like it?" I reply, "No. I love it." Then walk away. He try to direct me to other bags on the clearance rack. But this time I’m heated. Me and my mom walk around and we discuss what just happen. I didn’t make any purchase. I try to call the corporate office. They were closed. I waited for a female associate to finish with her customers at the register. I ask her what was the male manager name. She inform me his name. She look at my face and ask what was wrong. I explain the situation to her not knowing she was a manager as well.
She did indeed apologize to me for that experience. Ask me did I still want the bag? I told her yes but I cant purchase it from this store. This wasn’t a race situation or maybe it was. Myself and the male manager was the same race. It’s a shame that I couldn’t be treated with the same respect as the female customer he was helping before me. He didn’t ask her if she needed layaway before he unlock her two bags. That was the same brand as mine's. And it was two bags. He help her as she was trying to figure out which style she like best. And she didn’t even buy either one of then. But yet she wasn’t the same race as me. I don’t blame her at all. I looked through all the racks and could not find another one, I asked one of the sales associates on the sales floor and she said "all of our merchandise is out", and walked away. So I purchased the sweater (along with about 5 other shirts) and went home. Not thinking I took all the tags off and threw them away, then a few days later I decided that I would try contacting the TJ Maxx corporate office to see if they could help me find more sweaters. I took a photograph of the sweater, a close of photo of the tag in the neck, and a photo of my receipt. I called TJ Maxx and they said that they cannot help me. They told me to go back to my TJ Maxx and look through the racks.
I assured them that I had already done this and I said that surely this sweater exists at some of the other TJ Maxx stores, if I could email the photo to various stores they could look and see if they have it. He said that they do not have email addresses. I said, well, they do have email addresses but they just don't care enough about customer service to allow a customer to email them. Oh well, a lost sale for them. The fitting room attendant was very rude too, as if she held the key to the Emerald City and I should bow down to her and kiss her feet just to enter. The jacket never left the backseat of my car because I noticed that it was a dirt magnet, anything it came in contact with seemed to find a new home there, and I could tell wearing out would be a struggle to look put together. I had the original receipts, and the tags (though they had been removed from the shirt) and was still denied return by the store manager, Denny. His reason being that the collar of the shirt indicated that it had been worn, and the jacket was dirty. Well, yes. TJ Maxx return policy says tags must remain on undergarments and they are to be returned clean. Nothing about a button up shirt or a jacket screams underwear to me.

I explained it was a GIFT and you remove the price, if it is a gift... First it was misrepresented, then I can't get what I wanted... NEVER SHOP TJ MAXX!

I was returning items I had bought 2 days before. The lady ringing them up did not know if she could return a smart watch I had bought, so she got the manager. The manager said they don't return those. I asked where it said that at? And if I could talk to her manager. She then decided to let me return it, but first went thru the product piece by piece accusing me of every little thing and changing her mind back and forth if she would return it. There was a huge line, and she kept talking to me like I was 4 years old. Purposely being very slow and trying her hardest to humiliate me. I again ask for the name of her manager and she refused to give it to me. I asked for a pen and they refused to let me use one. They wouldn’t even let me sign the receipt that I was suppose to sign and then shorted me $5!!! I have never reported a complaint or reviewed a store until now. I will never shop there again until the two of them are gone.

Whose brilliant move was it, to fill a cattle stall with merchandise and increase customers' wait time. You are losing holiday business, and maybe customers. All of your stores: Marshalls, HomeGoods and TJ Maxx, have cattle stalls that customers single file through, while they are bombarded with merchandise to distract them from the wait time. Although the stores have unique merchandise, I will not shop there during this Holiday. Nashua NH Stores have despicably long wait times. Most often I just leave my cart in the line and leave the store frustrated. Maybe I come back the next day or not. This is all due to cutting back on labor costs to make the customer wait.

According to their rewards promotion, if you sign up and use their card at one of their stores (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Home Goods or Sierra Trading Post) you are suppose to receive a $10 reward certificate for every $200 you spend. In addition, they offered a 2000 PT sign up bonus and from time they offered bonuses if you used the card at other venues 3 times within 30 days. I signed up for the card and when I did I also signed up for paperless statements. With paper statements, you receive the reward certificate when you earn it as part of your statement - it is printed right on the last page. With paperless statements, the certificate is blacked out on the statement (so you cannot print it out) but there is an indication that you will receive it in the mail. When I did not receive my certificate, I called them, and they said they would mail a replacement certificate. I never received that one either.
Over the course of a year, I spent over $1300 at their stores and never received the reward certificates to which I was entitled. When I called to find out why, they said the certificates had been mailed to me. I asked if they could verify that I had not used them, and once they verified this was so, could they send me replacement certificates. They said there was no way for them to verify whether or not the certificates had been used. I really could not believe that what they were telling me was true, and if it is, I cannot believe that the rewards program was set up so haphazardly that they could not check if a reward certificate had been used or not. Each certificate is unique and barcoded, so it would have been very easy to check if they were used or not.
When they insisted they could not do so, I asked them to immediately cancel my TJ Maxx "rewards" credit card. I have other credit cards that offer rewards that I can use that actually give you the rewards you earn. This one did not, and their rewards website does not have any way of tracking how many rewards you've earned and how many you have used. I found this very strange as well. I can go to any of my other credit card websites and obtain information on rewards I've earned whenever I want. I honestly do not believe TJ Maxx wants to "reward" you for shopping at their stores, if they do, they should have set up their reward program like any other retail/bank credit card program, so they can replace lost or missing reward certificates in order to satisfy their customers and keep them happy... After all, the customers earned the rewards so they are entitled to receive them.

I told her she was not doing her job well since she was harassing my daughters. To my great surprise, she asked for the manager. Rather than apologizing, she accused me of being loud! To protect my girls from experiencing this ugliness, we left without saying anything more. TWO disgusting women who do not deserve to have kids! They ruined our day! Shame on them!

Customer service was less than helpful, and have no desire to solve the problem. Very very disappointed. They change my opinion about TJ Maxx 180 degrees!

The interest rate is crazy high, but that’s not the worst. I’ve had the card for over a year, and I have charged a lot on it. Unfortunately I have never received the reward certificates that I should have been getting the whole time. After a cashier in the store told me I should have been receiving them, I started trying to sort it out. My first attempt was via their website, although I didn’t get anywhere.
Then I started calling. Countless hours on the phone with various people, and 3 months after the first call, it is still not sorted out, I have still not received my reward certificates, although I’ve been promised for three months that they would be “coming with this month's statement”. After pressing the issue, one manager did give me a $25.00 credit on my account, but considering I had to press for it and $150.00 is still MIA, I am not satisfied with that. It has been very disappointing to see how inept these people are to correct this situation or to take ownership of the issue. I would strongly discourage anyone from opening this credit card.

It's so sad how these people operate, but I will say this is my last credit card and my worst experienced. I spoke to a lady on September 2017. Found out I couldn't make no payments at the store, so I spoke to a live person and did my first payment. Then I realized I never received October bill and right away they had a late fee of 25.00 that I wasn't aware of, because the lady I spoke to on Sept decided to make my bill via email without my consent. As I go to purchased some items I swipe the card just to know it said declined and I said it can't be. I still have money on the card because is the second time using it. So I couldn't buy my items, I call them directly while I was still in TJ Maxx and was told that my card was declined over non-payment for October payment and Now Nov bill that is not due to the 14 of this month. My bill is 128.00 total in which is ridiculous, I can understand if I owed 500.00 or + but for chump change they declined my card.
I made a 65.00 payment for both card today only to find out I have to wait 24 hrs to 48 hrs before it posts to my account, in which it leads me with 38.00 balanced and once is paid in full. They can all go screw themselves because of that. My credit score dropped 2 points. I have 5 other credit cards and I never had any problems and with this card I have. Is one of the worst, I told my friends and family not to purchased this BS card. Seeing now 253 complaints + counting I'm really letting this card go!! Ty for the headache and the stress you bunch of fools have caused me. Soon you will lose another value customer... And I hope and pray you lose customers every single day. All you hear from these fools sorry about this and that yeah ok.✌

After paying off several accounts, including TJMaxx credit card, they entered a fee of $58.00 which I was not aware of. I asked them to keep my account opened but wanted to pay off the balance of $585. I paid a total of $600.00 over the required balance to cover any additional fees if any were to be applied. I never went back to this account because I had no balance, I thought. 4+ months later, I go to purchase a vehicle and find out my credit score had dropped, I check and discovered that TJMaxx added a $30 fee that had been accruing interest. They closed my account for a $58.00 balance!!! That dinged my credit.
I called them and they said they could not speak with me because I had no account. FRUSTRATING!! I have all my documentation to dispute this inaccurate reporting and will never shop, refer anyone to shop there much less open up a credit card with TJMaxx who also owns Marshalls and Home Goods! I do quite a bit of online shopping because of all the sale alerts I get on my email so I thought I'd give TJ Maxx a try. Among other items I purchased I got some faux fur rabbit pillows. They came in sets of 2 so I ordered 2 sets for a total of 4 pillows. Of course they do multiple shipments which wasn't too bad since they would arrive just 1 day apart. Received the first shipment on Thursday 10/12/17 and although the slip they include with the order stated that only 1 of the 2 sets I ordered was in this shipment I actually got both sets except that one of the sets was missing a pillow. So I called right away and was told not to worry it will be in the next shipment. So the next day Friday 10/13/17 I opened the box to find out that an item from the order was in it with the slip pertaining to that item and also just a slip for 1 set of faux fur rabbit pillows except there was no pillows in there. So called again and of course they were closed.
Tried calling on Saturday morning but they're closed on the weekends. Finally spoke with a Connie this morning, Monday 10/16/17 and you'd think she would be helpful (I forgot to mention I had also emailed them twice and received an automated reply that someone would respond to me in the order the email was received - never heard back from anyone on that). So Connie said that per tracking number on the items everything was shipped, which I agree that's what shows but whoever packed my things instead of the set, left a pillow out. So the solution of the customer service lady was that they will check with the warehouse (what a joke) to see if that pillow can be found and if so it will be sent to me, otherwise I will get the refund for the one pillow missing.
Ummm so what do I do with just three pillows when I need 4??? That wasn't her problem. I said I want the pillow ma'am not a refund and she stated that she could place another order for me but I would be charged for it. Doesn't make much sense hey, since they screwed up now I would have to pay for an extra order? I asked if I can return the 3 pillows to a store, if she can send me an email of what has happened she said no they won't take them in store because I'm missing one. Whoooaaa right because your company apparently sucks and didn't send me what I paid for.
So now I have to wait probably 5 days and I will call them back again, because I hardly doubt anyone will follow up with me. I've purchased things from Macy's, Boston Store, Buckle, Amazon, Asos (overseas in London) never had an issue. Lesson learned with TJ Maxx. I wish I would've read reviews before I decided to spend $162 online and have to go through all this.

I have been a TJ Maxx store shopper for many years & for the first time last month I shopped at TJ Maxx online and ordered a console table online price $129.99 + tax. When I received the order & opened the box, right away I could see that the table was very badly damaged. Besides the heavyweight it was simple enough to return since the UPS return label is included with the box & UPS is very close to my home.
The table was shipped by UPS on 9/14/17 & was received by TJ Maxx on 9/18/17, today is 10/13/17 & my credit card still has not been credited for the amount of $137. After calling TJ Maxx on three different occasions, each time I was told that my refund would be processed & credited back to my credit card within 3 to 5 business days.
Today I called again & asked for a supervisor, of course they were all busy but thankfully the Rep Sharon processed the refund while I was on hold & gave me a confirmation number as well. Of course it will take 3 to 5 business days so maybe I will finally receive it by 10/20/17, I hope because I really don't want to call them again & I will never order online again. There is a company called 6pm.com that I shop online a lot, they credit my account the same day or very next day after receiving merchandise back.

Shopped at the Allen, Texas TJ Maxx & Home Goods Store on 10/04/17. At check-out I was asked if I would like to join their rewards program. As many of the stores in my area have rewards programs that help you save money on purchases, I decided that I would join. I filled out my name, e-mail address, SS number handed it to the cashier. She entered some information into her register and a couple minutes later told me I was approved. Then she asked me if I would like to use my new card to pay for my purchases that day. I asked her if this was some type of debit card like Target has and she told me no, that it was a credit card. At no time during our conversation regarding the rewards program did she mention anything about a credit card. I paid for my purchases with my Discover Card and left the store.
I was very upset that I was tricked into signing up for a credit card! I did not want anyone running a credit check on me at this time. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. I called this evening and cancelled the TJ Maxx credit card. I am very dissatisfied in the way this transaction was handled. If the way this transaction was handled by the cashier is how TJ Maxx trains their staff, I am very disappointed in this company. I question whether I will return to shop at TJ Maxx.

Save yourself time, frustration and headache and avoid shopping at tjmaxx.com. At all costs!!! I do most of my shopping online and thought I had a pretty good idea about reliability of websites I usually shop at. I got curious about TJ Maxx website, it’s a fairly big company and well-known retail store. Well, almost two months after initial order placement, I have never received the items I ordered, tracking number never showed any activity, and thus far 4 calls have been made to Customer Service, and I still have yet to receive a refund for the items I never received and a tracking number that was never trackable. This experience has forever tainted a desire to shop online or in-store at any store owned by TJX Companies such as Marshalls, HomeGoods and most certainly TJ Maxx.
Here is a timeline of events: Order # **. Order placed on: 07/28. Order Shipped Email: 08/02. TRACKING # **. Tracking number provided, but never showed any activity at all. 1st Call to TJ Maxx Customer Service about lost order: 08/15. Was told there would be a claim filed and an investigation done as to what happened to the items that were supposed to ship, may take up to 10 days to get my refund. Can I just cancel the order and get a refund? No, they must “investigate”. 2nd Call to TJ Maxx Customer Service about lost order: 09/13. Almost a month later still no refund. Was immediately told I’d be getting a refund and it will show up on my account within 3-5 days. That was too easy, but let’s hope that’s the end of it. 3rd Call to TJ Maxx Customer Service about lost order: 09/20. Still no refund.
Was told there are no notes to the order about a refund or even a filed claim. They would need to file the claim/investigation and once again it would take up to 10 days. Asked to speak to someone higher up, since it’s been almost 2 months, and a ridiculous amount of time spent calling customer service. Was told no manager is available but someone would call back within next 2 days. 4th Call to TJ Maxx Customer Service about lost order: 09/21. No call back from the manager within 24 hours, not going to take another day to wait. Was told that my case will be escalated and I will be getting a refund in 3-5 days. 09/27: Sent an email with the same details mentioned here to customer service, obviously not hoping for much at this point. Today is September 27, 3017, and still no refund is appearing on my account. 2 months, 4 calls, 1 email, endless frustration and $107 that TJ Maxx has basically stolen from me.

Of course since it was purchased from Kenneth Cole they gave me a number of a company that does their repairs and said I had to send a picture of the problem. So, right now I do not know if the handle is even covered under warranty or not. What I do know is that I may not ever purchase a Kenneth Cole piece of luggage again (at least with this handle design) and I know for a fact that I will NEVER step foot in a TJ Maxx again.

I live in a fairly rural area and am an avid online shopper. I have been appalled by the poor service and complete lack of customer service after TJ Maxx sent me the wrong item from an online purchase. I ordered two large woven baskets online and paid for the purchase and $10 of shipping with a gift card. They sent me the wrong item. I called the customer service line (waited 20 minutes to speak to someone) as I did not want to have to pay shipping to send the wrong item back. I do not live close to a TJ Maxx store or UPS store so I asked if they could send return label through USPS, but they do not offer this. I was also told during this first call that I "could call back and receive free shipping" AFTER I mailed the wrong item back and they received it. Also, I would have to wait days for the gift card to arrive in the mail (the item I wanted was low in stock so all this waiting made me nervous).
I received the gift card and called in to customer service (25 min wait plus multiple holds during the call) to order the product that I originally ordered but did not want to have to pay shipping on it so they did not reimburse that on the gift card. The rep. tried to place the order and I had to read my original order number and gift card number repeatedly. She then told me the gift card processor must not be working. I'll have to try again another day. I explained this is time consuming and this is no fault of my own. I have a young child and 45 minutes of phone time is hard to come by more less not how I want to spend my time. She said she could not help me. I'd have to call back. Then I called back and this rep. also could not run the gift card and said he wouldn't be so presumptuous to assume the gift card was defective but he'd put a call in for a supervisor and it should be 24-48 hours.
No one ever called. I had to call and wait again, repeat all my numbers again, hold again. I was told the supervisor was in a meeting so I couldn't talk to him/her but that the gift card is defective. This time I was told a supervisor would call me by the end of the work day. Again, no call, no message, no follow-up email. Again, I called and was on a long wait, hold, repeated all my numbers, told my saga again, insisted to speak to a supervisor and was refused. Told by a rather rude rep it would be 24-48 hours for a supervisor to call me and that's policy. I explained I cannot be on call for 24-48 hours. I need the supervisor to leave call back information if I miss the call. Also, this rep. said if I needed a new gift card "I" would have to call Synchrony Bank who issues their cards to have a new one issued.
I said this is not acceptable. I have spent hours trying to correct TJ Maxx’s error, including a 1 hour round-trip drive to UPS store and waiting in line to return the package. She did not care or offer any more help. She gave me the bank number. I called and it is for the TJ Maxx credit cards, not gift cards. I entered the gift card number anyway and was sent to a prompt that told me for gift cards to call the SAME customer service line. I called back pretty livid and a new rep told me that their supervisor had approved to send out a replacement gift card for both the price of the purchase. They were also going to reimburse my shipping in form of a gift card (the original form of payment which should have been done in the first place). I have waited days, just received the cards, and surprise the card with the supposed price of purchase on it doesn't work. It says this card has a zero dollar balance.
With additional attempts of reentering the number it says "oops we've got errors" which is the same problem the last gift card had. The card with the shipping cost on it ($9.60) does work. So after 5 weeks, 6 phone calls, hours of frustration, I am out $36 and have no item. It's not worth doing business with this company, especially online. I am out of options, they refuse to let me speak to a supervisor and the primary level representatives are unable to issue new gift cards.
Even when the supervisor approved reissuing the gift card, twice now the cards have not worked. It feels like a scam. I do not think it is worth more of my time and frustration. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but have no interest in speaking with their rude and unhelpful representatives. I caution anyone who plans to work with this company ESPECIALLY if may need customer service i.e. credit card through TJ Maxx could be a true nightmare.

January to end of June 2017, I was out of state from my hometown due to work. We were working 6 days a week and 12 hours a day. Plus, while I was in New Mexico working, I was rushed to the Hospital due to respiratory failure and was in Intensive Care/CCU. I was in the hospital for 11 days. Then homebound until the end of June (when I returned home) due to not being release for work from my doctors. I was still on Oxygen until I left New Mexico. While in New Mexico, I signed up for a TJ Maxx charge card due to being able to get a discount and because I like the stores, and also to help build my credit. On July 3, I received a statement in the mail stating my account was delinquent. I immediately called Customer Service and spoke with a very nice customer service lady. I explained that I had not received my statement from them even though my mail had been forwarded to my work address in New Mexico.
She was understanding about my situation and credited my account for the late fees. I also told her I would pay the full amount that day. As soon as I got off of the phone with her, I went online and set up my account, since I had all of the information (account #, etc) now that I had an actual invoice from the company) and I paid the full amount of the invoice. All of this was noted in my account per this customer service lady. Recently, I shopped at a TJ Maxx store, here in my hometown, and I tried to use my TJ Maxx credit card. The cashier told me it was not working. Shocked and embarrassed, I asked her to try it again since I knew I had a -0- balance. Again, it did not work. So today, I signed on to my TJ Maxx account to see if there was a Customer Service number so I could call to ask why my card had been declined since I had a -0- balance.
When I signed on to my account; I noticed in RED print, that my account had been closed due to "HISTORY OF DELINQUENCY"!!!! The 1st Customer Service lady I spoke with on July 3 (she stated she understood and took the late payment charges off and adjusted my account); She NEVER mentioned my Account had been CLOSED due to this error. The nice lady I originally spoke with about my account NEVER STATED my account was CLOSED! I was under the impression that everything with my account was up to date, notes added regarding the issue, and my account was good to go!
Today, I called their customer service department to find out why the account was closed because I was of the understanding everything was resolved and I now had a -0- balance. I was told the notes on my account were there but there was nothing this Customer Service lady could do about my account being CLOSED. I asked to speak with a Manager. I was forwarded to a man named GALE, Extension ** (is what he gave me). I explained my issue, and he verified the notes and credits, etc. but also said there was NOTHING he could do. He was not going to reinstatement my account which was closed due to errors (of which is noted in THEIR system, confirmed by him). I told him that I work hard on keeping my credit in good standing and that I was upset about this and I did not feel I deserve to have negative comments and ratings on my credit report.
He stated TJ Maxx has reported to the credit bureaus and it should reflect that the payment was made and was previously delinquent due to being out of town and not receiving my invoice, etc. of which should not reflect my credit. However, I beg to differ. I told him I was NOT informed that my account had been closed (not by the 1st Customer Service lady or when I set my TJ Maxx account up online). He stated they are not REQUIRED to let a person know their account was closed, even if it was closed due to error. I proceeded to tell him that I was not agreement with this procedure and am very upset with how this has been handled. He just told me he was not going to reinstate my account. This makes no sense to me. Then he asked if there was anything else he could do for me (in a sarcastic voice, like he was so proud of him standing his ground).
I said, NO, I guess not because you know the status of my account, etc and you are still not willing to do anything to reinstate my account. I told him I will probably NEVER shop at one of their stores again due to how this situation was handled. He could care less and kept talking over me as if going off of a script. I have been in Customer Service/Sales all of my working life and as I see it, this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED in this Manager's SARCASM voice tone he had with me, ESPECIALLY the last few minutes of the conversation. And extremely upset with TJ Maxx's supposed policies. Actually, it makes me even question if it is actually TJ MAXX'S POLICY, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!

About a week ago I purchased a filled (Himalayan Pink Salt) salt grinder... As I was using it the other night the grinder mechanism fell apart in my food... I took it back to the local store where I bought it... They refused to allow me to return it or give me a refund. They claimed it is classed as "open food" and it is against policy to accept it. In a way I understand your stores' safety concerns but it is not like this is a product you can resell. I am very upset that I am out $7.99 and have no product to show for it. If it is your policy to sell shotty merchandise and not back up your sales, this will be my last trip to a TJ Maxx store!!

My daughter and I went into the TJ Maxx of Bend Oregon for the very first time ever shopping a TJ Maxx, on August 1, 2017, as my sister had given us gift cards from a TJ Maxx. Well, after spending some time shopping in a confusing store (NOT set up well, AT ALL!), we went to the register and I paid for some items, my daughter for the others, as she is entering college and had money for dorm items. It was busy in there, and there was a lot of handing over of bags and items by the cashier. We left the store, and the following day, my daughter could not find her $30 change from a $50 she'd handed the cashier. LONG story short!, we tore apart the house, car and retraced steps, thinking it had fallen out somewhere. Well, I finally called TJ Maxx and asked them to check the till amount, reading off the numbers on my receipt. I was told I would be called back.
Mind you, we are NOT from Bend, and staying in Redmond, approximately 50 mile round trip to the store. The receipt shows 0601 1040 06 8204 08/01/17 17:50:08 1013 SO! I received a call later in the day saying they did find a discrepancy in the till and they had our $30. We were welcome to come and pick it up. I informed the woman I talked to that we were not from the area, were there for the local fair, and that we couldn't just run back out there and get it, so would probably be a couple days.
Well, I called this morning, 2 days later, after thinking about this whole mess, and asked what TJ Maxx can do for us, not only for the MAJOR inconvenience, but also for the time and being without our money due to the employee messing up. I was told they will do NOTHING! not even a gift card or something, and that they could go ahead and Fed Ex the money to us. Well, being we travel again tomorrow night, we will not BE anywhere to collect from Fed Ex. The only good thing, the gal I spoke with offered to bring it into the town we are in this evening, ONLY because she is going to pick up her Grandson! WOW! I am SHOCKED by the treatment to a customer when it was THEIR employee who messed up!
Should there not be some sort of gift or something due to the complete inconvenience? I will not shop a TJ Maxx again! Oh, AND? Most of the items were broken if glass, or seconds of some sort, makeup was broken, things were a mess. I felt like we were in a Goodwill store! I believe they get seconds and overstock and sell those.

I did place an order online for three dresses. Order #: **. One of the three dresses I ordered did not fit properly. I did receive it today and within two hours I tried to returned it to my closest TJ Maxx Store. The lady refused to return it by being rude. I tried to explain this is the box with shipping tag and the dress had the original tags attached. I also provided them with the email confirmation. When shipped it seems like they missed to include a receipt and for that reason they could not refund to the original payment but could do only store credit.
I was told to call the shipping and get a receipt even I had no fault at all. I presented all was given to me. The lady was so so rude and unprofessional! I feel like I need to warn people away from TJ Maxx! I've shopped there for years and loved the place. I do not want store credit, as I do not want to ever have to deal with this sleazy company again! Be warned, do NOT buy online from TJ Maxx!

As of today July 26, 2017 I will no longer be using my TJ Maxx credit card. I have continued to purchase from them for our new home but it's absolutely crazy that you are charged $25 if you're one day late. Nearly all credit card companies have a grace period so therefore I will not be using it anymore. I feel like it's just a trap. $25 is a lot of cash. Just a heads up you might want to check your monthly statements closely because if it's not paid on that very day they charge you $25.

I placed an order over a week ago. I never received an email that my items shipped, so I called customer service. They said that when you pay $8.99 for their regular shipping they have 10 days to get the item to you. Really? It's at least a week just for shipping for them. That will make it 2 and a half weeks. They also said that if you place an order in the afternoon you lose another day. Their shipping is ridiculous and it is clear after my call they could care less about their customers. I am an established customer who has placed several orders. I usually order when they have free shipping. Now I will never order. There are way too many other places to shop online.

My initial order qualified for free shipping. A couple days after placing my order and receiving the confirmation of the order, TJ Maxx sent me an email saying they could not fulfill my entire order due to lack of inventory. I noticed that they then charged me $8.95 to ship the other item that was $12. I think this is ridiculous for one because the initial order was quoted free shipping and also they had free shipping advertised on their website. I emailed customer service for them to say there is nothing they can do. I later browsed the site to see the same item I attempted to order in stock still online. I have never been more frustrated with a company and their online service. Infact this is my first review I've written about a store. Completely unimpressed and would not recommend ordering anything online from them.

I am a customer in TJ Maxx, I always liked the store and I go in person or buy online. I got some rewards certificates and I used 2 of them successfully and I had a third one that I tried to use it online to purchase a shirt that I liked. The reward didn't work and tried several times thinking that I may wrote the wrong number but it didn't work. I Emailed Customer Services and I didn't even receive an email telling me that they got my message and of course I didn't have an answer. I went to see my bag to purchase the item. Not matter I couldn't use the reward but the size is gone and I can't buy it anymore. I sent a second email telling them how upset I am and I just got the email confirmation that they got my email, so for some reason their email thing is not working properly and I am so upset that I am thinking not buying any more from them. They not only sent me a reward that doesn't work if not they also ignored my previous email.

I went shopping at TJ Maxx for probably the first time ever and I am now 30 years old. I enjoyed my shopping experience looking around. Did not have much time because it was 30 minutes to close and before the store was closing I purchase some makeups, a pair of sunglasses. The only thing I did not like was a lot of the makeup was already broken up, shattered everywhere, just random things thrown everywhere but they were marked down cheap so I figured that was why they were marked down cheap.
There was also a lot of sunglasses that were scratched up. A lot of them are like that but they were still pretty good price and thought that's why. When I got home the sunglasses did not fit. They were too small for me. The makeup did not seem desirable no more to me and I never used it. I never use the sunglasses and the pajamas that I bought were too big so I went to bring the stuff back and they would not return the sunglasses or the makeup. They said because the makeup is out of the plastic and used, they cannot take it back. I said I bought it like that. She completely ignored everything I said and continue talking.
I went ahead and dismiss those return, then I went to help her find another pair of sunglasses because I lost the tag. She went to go ask her manager to help her and said that her manager said since they were scuffed up and had scratches, they couldn't take those back either. I looked at her and I said, “I never wore those. I bought them like that.” And said, “Look at all your sunglasses. They're also scratched up and scuffed up too.” She did not acknowledge anything I said. Would not look and continued walking away and talking and carrying on to get me out the door. So it's okay to purchase their items that way but it is not okay to return them that way. I will not be shopping at TJ Maxx and Elizabethtown Kentucky again. Horrible experience.

I have never left a review for a business in my life, but after such a horrible experience, I feel like I need to warn people away from TJ Maxx! I've shopped there for years and loved the place. My fiance and I received several gift cards at our bridal shower and I was excited to find that the cookware set we had registered for was on sale. It was normally $300 but was on clearance for $99.99. I quickly ordered it, using a TJ Maxx gift card, as well as a VISA gift card, along with a set of bath rugs.
As soon as I got the package, it was clear something was wrong. It had stickers on the outside of the box stating that it was fragile, but the box was very light. Clearly there was no cookware inside. I opened it to find the bath rugs, as ordered, and no cookware set. However, there was a sticker on some of the packaging, that labeled the bubble wrap AS the cookware set. Additionally, the packing list had a-1 in yellow highlighter next to the cookware set. It was clear that they knew it was out of stock. What I found INSTEAD of the cookware set, was a large, pineapple shaped platter. It was cute, but not the cookware set.
I immediately emailed customer service, asking if they were indeed out of stock, and informing them that I had received an incorrect item. They said that the cookware set was out of stock, and I needed to return the pineapple platter in order to be refunded my $100. Cool. So, I set out trying to mail back the pineapple platter, which would prove more difficult than one would think. After about two weeks of trying to get a straight answer from customer service, I finally mailed it back in the original box that the platter and rugs came in (after UPS tried to charge me $20 to pack a platter worth $15, that I had never ordered!).
Fast-forward two more weeks. I still have not received my refund and the platter arrived back at the warehouse 12 days ago. I was promised that I would have my refund within 3-5 business days. I have talked with multiple customer service representatives on the phone, who have been less than helpful, and downright rude (Shout out to Connie!). Everyone I talk with has apologized and promised that I would soon have my money back, but it still hasn't happened.
I've asked to speak with a manager or someone with more power to make things happen, and they always blame a "recent high volume of calls". No surprise that lots of people are calling, if they're having a similar experience! They offer to have a manager call me back within 48 hours, and it's never happened, after 3 different people have promised to do so, a week and a half ago. That's not to mention the hour and 17 minutes I spent on hold, waiting to speak to someone. Ironically, the tab on their website for this subject is called, "Easy returns". Lolol.
Nevertheless, I am not pleased. Due to the fact that I used part TJ Maxx gift card and part VISA gift card, I have been told that I will receive partial store credit, and partial refund to the VISA card. I do not want store credit, as I do not want to ever have to deal with this sleazy company again! Be warned, do NOT buy online from TJ Maxx!

I placed an order 15 days ago. I have not received my order. I have subsequently called six times. Every time I have called I get the blanket answer the order is being processed. However, one customer representative stated there was a mishap with a truck. That statement didn't make sense as the order I am told has not left the warehouse. The most disheartening thing about this company in which I have been a VERY good customer, is that I am forced to call and call to try and get a resolution, so I can get my order. My credit card has been charged. I am at a loss as to what my next step should be. I fully understand situations can arise to delay an order. The fact they think so little of their customer as to not contact them by email is appalling. Anyone out there contemplating placing an online order, please think twice. I don't know how this will end. Thank you.

My son went to TJ Maxx to purchase an item that I usually buy for him. He simply walked into the store and an employee walked up to him and told him he needed to leave the store because the last time he was at the store things came up missing. WTF my son is not a thief. He had money to purchase the item. The lady call security over to escort him out of the store. No proof nothing. Just he looks like someone who stole from the store. WTF racist. I will never shop there again.

I bought $110 mens Cross brand bag as my husband Christmas gift at Edmonds branch. Poor product. My husband used the bag only about three month and the zipper was broken surprisingly very earlier. I went to the TJ Maxx store and explained the situation. A cashier said as long as I brings the receipt, they could take it back. However when I went to the store again in order to return the broken bag with the receipt, the manager said that they could not take it back because it was not resalable condition. Of course it is not the new!!! However it is their responsibility because they sold the defect product. I was very disappointed about their customer service and I will never use the TJ Maxx again!!! I will get rid of the TJ Maxx credit card as well. Good bye TJ Maxx.

I was shopping on last Saturday at the TJ Maxx on Goodman Road in Olive Branch, Mississippi, I had gone to the register with nine items to purchase. One of the nine items was a vase that was marked 12.99. When I got to the front the salesperson told me that she could not sell the vase because the price tag did not go to the item and the vase was more expensive. She sent several other sales associates to the back to get another vase, but there were no other vases like that one in the store. I asked for the manager and the manager reiterated the same information and said that they would call other TJ Maxx locations to try and get the cost of the vase. This process took about 40 mins. No other store had the vase in their store or system. The manager then said, "I'm sorry but I can't sell you the vase but you can pay for your other items."
I asked for the number of the district manager and she asked if I would like for her to give him a call. While on the phone the manager proceeded to tell the district manager that people come in all the time, switch the tags, and come back later to retrieve the items, never once mentioning the situation that was occurring in the store. When she got off the phone she told me that just once she would sell the vase for 29.99 with 30 percent being taken off which would take the price to 12.99. I told the manager that I was deeply offended by her accusation on the phone pertaining to me and that I had not shopped at TJ Maxx since Christmas. This experience was terrible and I probably will not shop at this establishment again.

I was making line when I hear a cashier yelling to a customer how much his income was. I think that's not right that should be ask more private, anyway the customer said his income and I believe he was not approve cause he did not get any response but a little paper. Customer left. I got to another young cashier in her 18 to 20's years old she was ringing my clothes and stopping asking the other cashier what happen to the customer that he apply for credit, I was on a hurry so I told the cashier if she can hurry up because I was in a hurry and I told her can ask the cashier later because I need to go.
After a few min the cashier that was talking to her came and told me not to talk to the cashier like that. I say how I just told her if she can hurry up because I'm in a hurry. I said, “I believe customer is first.” She said that the cashier was asking a job-related question but I was waiting for them to finish talking about something that they can way after they have customers. I ask the cashier what was her name and she just lift her shoulder up and down. She did not answer. I ask her, “where is the manager”. She said, “somewhere around the store”, like I said I was in a hurry. As a business owner I don't think that's right, they need to be trained right. Unfortunate I lost the receipt that day I did not get the cashier name but this is the store address Palm Court Shopping Center, 17144 Slover Ave, Fontana, CA 92337.
