    I enrolled in triple advantage to monitor my credit score. I noticed my score dropped with Transunion (My score was 667 in Feb '09) and Experian (649) to 576 for both in May. I am currently trying to reach them both, since my credit reports so no new negative information, charge-offs, liens, and my last late payment was in 2005. All I want is someone to tell me why my score dropped.

    I discovered recently that TransUnion/TrueCredit had been double-billing my account for quite awhile. After contacting them via their 800 number, and being given the runaround by a customer service rep (he couldn't find the account to cancel it), I filed complaints with Consumeraffairs.com and the Better Business Bureau. Within two weeks of filing the complaints the TransUnion customer service manager called and offered to reimburse us for the double-billed amount. She also confirmed that the account had been cancelled. And said she would issue a memo to their customer service reps to check ALL the tools available to them when searching for a customer's account. Of course, I will have no way to confirm that the memo goes out, but I would hope that TransUnion would make sure their customer service reps are properly trained.

    A few years ago I subscribed to a TransUnion credit monitoring service by the name of True Credit. For a fee that is debited quarterly they will alert you when your credit bureau is accesses and will provide credit reports and scores from the three major bureaus. In late 2007, I canceled the subscription but continued to be billed. I called the toll free number and the company apologized and refunded my money. The next quarter I was again billed. I began calling the toll free number provided by the website and the agents had the records of my calls but still my bank account was debited, only this time they would not refund. I wrote letters with no success. Finally, in late Feb-early March I called and advised that I was closing my account to avoid further charges for a subscription that I did not want. The service representative stated that I had 2 subscriptions (potential fraud) and only one had been closed. He assured me that he would cancel the the second and that there were no other products in my name. I closed my Regions Bank account and they agreed to flag that particular debit as fraudulent if it should occur again. In April, 2009 the company again attempted to debit the closed bank account, but were blocked. Yesterday, 5/1/2009, I received a collection notice attempting to collect the subscription plus fees with the threat that Telecheck had been contacted and I would no longer be able to use my checking account for purchases. I need help and do not know where to turn. When consumers subscribe to a service, there must be a way to cancel that subscription. And if that cancellation process fails, there must be a way to escalate. I have been trying for over a year to cancel this and according to the representatives I have spoken with in their call center, the records show the calls. I do not believe that I will be able to resolve this without assistance.

    Since May 2007, TransUnion/TrueCredit have been double-billing my credit card. When I called to cancel the account (you can't do it online), I was told that it could not be found, using either SS# or log in ID. An 800 number is the only way to contact customer service and they are totally clueless. If Customer Service can't find the account to cancel it, why can accounting find it to double-bill?

    This really deals with all three credit bureaus and because of this, I do not know where to get good advice. My credit score went from 740-750 down to 690. The credit report was filled with all the wrong information. For instance, it stated that my credit score would improve if I had purchased a house. My profession for 22 years was as a Realtor. I own a three level, four bedroom house right now but it is paid off. After talking to the representative, she told me that because I did not have a mortgage or a car loan (heavens forbid, I paid off that also), this is hurting my credit score. Is this reality?

    In the face of our economic climate with record foreclosures, defaulting on credit cards and repossessed cars, I am punished because I paid my house off plus my car and I pay my credit cards? Please tell me where to go, to get an accurate picture of what a person should do. If this representative is correct and I have to get into debt to raise my score, then I will have to be branded as someone who is a poor credit risk.

    I disputed the wrong information on my credit history 2 times on mail providing written statement with supporting documents (copy of my license and Social Security card). My sister's first name is similar name to mine. Our last names are the same. I waited all this time to get everything fixed. Finally, I got my credit report for the 2nd dispute after their carelessness, and still my credit history contains all the information from my sister. Now, I disputed third time over the phone. It might take another 30 days. I don't know if they will fix it this time. I am applying for a home mortgage. Just because of TransUnion, I can be denied for my mortgage and lose the opportunity for buying a house, plus the money I spend so far for planning to buy the house. Equifax and Experian fixed my credit after I disputed. TransUnion is not doing what they're supposed to do. They are only screwing up my life and my opportunities.

    Tried to access annual credit report. Two checks at two agencies went smoothly. Transunion could not confirm my identity and after talking to someone trying to speak English the situation came down to me sending a copy of my driver's license to Transunion. I do not think so. This is just some type of gimik to keep from providing the free report or harrass people for money. Questions they asked were not competent questions and then they want my Driver's License. Company must be located in South Africa.

    I requested a free credit report from Transunion, then tried to submit a dispute against a debt that is not mine yet keeps appearing on my report-- six years now. Several banks have tried to get the item removed. My lawyer has written the collection company letters. This time I tried to put the item in dispute online. Three times I was kicked off just as I was about to click the final button to submit the dispute. I had gone through the entire process 3 times, which took about twenty minutes each time. Each time, at the last step, the site shut down and kicked me off. The fourth time I tried to log in to complete submitting the same dispute, I was told I would have to pay. Very convenient for Transunion!

    TransUnion drooped my crdit score by 55 points November 2008. I ordered a copy of my credit report & found nothing had happened at all during October or November or any other months leading up to the change. When I wrote them asking for some type of explaination, they sent me a form letter say that all changes are based on a statistical formula which was no answer for such a dramatic drop in an otherwise very good score.

    I have been trying for the last two months to receive a free copy of my TransUnion credit report. I went on online to rquest a copy and was advised I need to write and request a copy. I have sent of for it several times. Each time a I get a letter mailed back to me stating that I need to attach my I.D and SSN card for proof of identification. Each time I have sent proof of my identity and still get that same letter every time. The number that I found on there website is an automated number and I can get it through there either. There are things on that credit report that are not mine and I am wanting to dispute them.

    Compared to Equifax, TransUnion was and is a terrible experience when it comes to credit reporting. Poor service, aweful ESL issues, endlessly being put on hold, problems with communication due to many, many language barriers - the list goes on. The thing that irked me the most was the lies and passing the buck. I was told to call one number with firm commitments by 2 different people that they could help me sort out file errors and how to access US credit reports (I live in Canada). The person (s) who I called were indifferent, patronizing and poorly familiarized with their own procedures. The industry needs an overhall.

    I am 20 years old. My father's info has been on my credit report since I was 16 years old, according to the documents I reviewed. I applied for a bank account 2/27/09 and I was told that I could not open a checking account because of my credit history. The report that was given to me by the banks had my father's information(ssn,birthdate,etc) and bankruptcy on my credit report. As a result, I am having problems getting a apartment , credit etc. I submitted a letter to all three credit companies and they stated that the information was not on my credit report. I need to find out who is reporting this information to the credit report companies when I apply for credit, and how do I have this error removed.

    I requested that my creit report be updated by mail 3x, each time they say after n vestattions the findings are the same. Then i call to speak with some one directly and he says they will investigate again once again I get a notice that the finding are the same. THEY are not teh same all this says to me it that they really did not investigate. Something is wrong here I sent in the documentation to Transunion myself and stil the same issue I told them to investigate on there own and yet they say the ifo is teh same. THIS IS NOT TRUE I HAVE PROVED THIS ALREADY and it they would actually INVESTIGATE they would know its true also. There has to be sometjing I can do otherwise I have this judgementon my credit report that does not exsist. HELPPPPPPP!!!

    I ordered my free annual credit report through AnnualCreditReport.com. Equifax was timely & easy, but TransUnion would not proceed until I phoned them. There was a language barrier and it took 15 minutes for them to verify who I was. They asked me questions regarding a mortgage I paid off 10 years ago.     I contracted for a service that provided me access to all 3 credit bureaus. These reports could be run on a daily basis. In December TransUnion amended their agreement so that the reports could only be run every 30 days. This essentially eliminates the service that I contracted for, without a corresponding reduction in fee. Its unconsionable.

    TransUnion inaccurately reported my credit information for the month of February. I am currently trying to close on a house and the information that is in their system is incorrect. I only have a brief time to close on the house in accordance with a marital settlement agreement. My mortgage company removed the information that was previously submitted to the credit agencies (in error) and was causing deragotory issues with my credit. ALL of the other companies removed this negative information besides TransUnion. TransUnion tells you to call their company, however never will provide you with a telephone number, and the online system was down for a day. I cannot wait for them to remove their error it will cost me approximately $4,000 in points and an additional 1 percent interest per year! It is criminal that companies can do this to you!!!

    Some time in February 2008 I signed up with an on line company (24protectplus123.com) in order to access my credit report. After that I received a number of calls from collection agencies. Also I noticed a lot of tampering with my credit report which keept my credit score low. My information was probably shared because my creditors knew that I was trying to refinance and they heldout for more money.

    Back in November,I received an online credit scoring through my WAMU credit card. I noticed that my score had dropped over 100 points in less than 1 year,it went from above 700 down to 593. My credit was rated at A++ by my mortgage broker when I refinanced my house for a lower rate less than 2 years ago.
    I contacted the Federal Trade Commission which in turn told me to get my credit report. To my dismay Transunion had not posted any payment history on my credit report for 6+ months.I have a mortgage and 2 credit cards that I pay over the minimum amount due and I have never been late with those payments. Also noticed that 1 of my credit cards,Juniper/Barclays had inquired about my credit history.My Juniper credit card is a low interest so I carry a balance at around 40% to 60%. I had no liens or judgements on the credit report and my income is the same if not better. Yesterday, a payment reminder came via email so, I logged onto the Juniper website to see the due date and notice that my credit limit had been decreased to only $100 over what I owed and $500 less than my original credit limit at the time the account was opened. Contacted Mari at Juniper and asked her why they lower my limit,she stated it was because of what Transunion had scored my credit rating at. I explained to Mari that I had never been late on the Juniper or other current credit accounts and her reply was that Juniper sent a letter 7 days ago informing me of this change,I still have yet to receive this letter. I then contacted Jelly at Transunion in India.When I explained the credit score from Wamu problem,she told me that WAMU uses a different scoring system than Transunion even though Transunion's name is attached to it. Jelly then tried to sell me a credit monitoring program by Transunion.I asked Jelly if my credit payments from 6+ months had been added,she declined to release that infomation without purchasing a Transunion product.

    TransUnion prints entire credit account numbers on their Credit Report. Along with birthdate and social security information the potential for identity theft is increased. To make matters worse the address they have listed is wrong which makes me think if this report gets sent to the wrong address. I have attempted to correct my address several times now but after a brief correction wrong information seems to resurface. Corrections don't seem to be permanent. TransUnion also claims they do not have the ability to scramble or truncate the account numbers, yet Experian and Equifax do. They claim it is the responsibility of the credit card companies to restrict this information. When I contact the credit card companies they of course refer me back to TransUnion. This has become quite a goat rope. The only thing I have been able to do is to freeze my credit.

    Like others I have tried to cancel charges for services not provided by Transunion and I finally put a freeze on my credit card to stop it. Since that time I have been threatened with a lawsuit or a negative on my credit report. This seems to be akin to hiring a thief to protect your home from burglary.

    I sent for my credit report and as I looked at them, there are so many bills paid over the years that should have been taken off that would really improve my credit score but it seem that they aren't going to remove them until they're ready to. My insurance went up several hundred dollars because of this nonsense. My house insurance. I TALKED TO MY INSURANCE AGENT AND HE SAID THAT IT MAY TAKE YEARS FOR THEM TO REMOVE THE PAID BILLS.     I have accounts on my credit report saying I still owe certain companies money. Companies I know I paid due to looking at my account whom I bank with and the companies whom I paid with receipts. All I clearly want is this ERRONEOUS information updated in all 3 credit bureaus systems showing that I have paid and removed off my report. If you need the name of the companies please email me or contact me via telephone for faxing information or mailing information showing proof I have paid. Still on my credit report showing I still owe the agency money. Currently making my credit score a 580 and below to the point I cannot get a car loan in the military.

    Attempted to file a fraud alert, to no avail. Ended up with a robot voice saying thank you for contacting T. U. & the connection was severed. Trans Union has incorrectly reported my credit and Personal information for 11 years. My I.D.- Soc.Sec. were stolen in 1997. The Perp. was arrested and jumped bail-never recaptured.

    You can't explain the many problems involved trying to clean up such a mess. It has taken me 11 years and the only one of the three credit agencies who has gotten it right is Experian. Equifax is a close 2nd, and they have corected errors when asked. Trans Union has been negative to me and any inquires for the past 11+ years. I am at present sending them a formal inquiry by reqistered mail. 1. To post a fraud alert 2. I want a copy of my credit report.

    My son and I have basically the same name which can be confusing sometimes. We do have different SS#'s, different birth dates, and different middle names. When TransUnion received credit information on my son they searched their database found a similar name that had a matching address (10 years old for my son, current for me)and COMPLETELY INORING the current address and birth date differences they just changed my information which combined the credit for my son and I. Now, according to them, I have an alias. He has access to all my information and I have access to his. How inappropriate and illegal is that?

    When I contacted TransUnion, their solution was that I had to dispute all the things that weren't mine and then they asked me to mail to them in the standard US mail service a copy of my Drivers License along with my complete name address and Social Security Number to PROOVE who I was. All that in an envelope through the US mail service - How stupid do they think I am? I complained up the chain of command at the TransUnion telephone customer service department, wouldn't take NO for an answer, until I finally got someone that was actually in the United States and could speak English without an extremely thick Indian accent.

    The policy of TransUnion is if they find a match in their database like mine and my son's the information like birthdate will automatically update to the new information regardless of the obvious discrepancies. I was told that that is how their system works and there was no one higher that I could speak with, ARRGH! Their solution of updating the information to current was only temporarym they couldn't guarantee that the same thing would not happen again tomorrow. I was just suppose to suck it up and pay them money and check my credit constantly to see if they screwed it up again.

    The ONLY way I can prevent TransUnion from changing my information is to freeze my credit. TransUnion has a system-wide global problem and I have top freeze MY credit because they can't fix their problem! Anyone else see a problem with that? If you are interested Equifax report seemed to be accurate and Experian recognized their error and addressed the problem INSTANTLY! I'm frustrated!

    My girlfriend and I pulled our credit reports so we were aware of our scores before we approached a mortgage company in pursuit of a purchase for our first home. I was very surprised - and annoyed - to find thousands over thousands of dollars of debt on my report. I spent an entire day calling all of the collectors in fear I was another victim of identity theft, but to my surprise, I came to find out I wasn't. There is another person with my exact name who's information TransUnion just stuck on my report! The creditors said they only report the debt to TransUnion. They are the ones who put the information on the report. So if I have access to this other Joshua's account numbers and local address, then it's fair to say he has access to all of my credit card numbers and address! Isn't this a violoation of the Privacy Act?

    The SAME thing has happened to my girlfriend. ALL of her mothers decades of bad debt is now reported ALL over HER credit report. How negligent is it of TransUnion that without verifying the SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, that someone having just the SAME NAME is enough reason to put confidential information on their credit report?

    It's taken up so much of our time, and I have a bad feeling that once we report it ISN'T our debt, and we go through the process of sending out an accumulation of at least 100 letters (literally) that it will get taken off ONLY momentarily, because if the same name is their filtering system, what's to keep them from the reporting it BACK on our report 2-3 months from the correction? HOW ARE THEY ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS? This is OUR LIVES we are talking about here.

    We are now unable to apply for a housing loan, and are just now finding out that most of the information was already reported when we got a car loan, so we are just now realizing our interest rate COULD HAVE BEEN even lower.

    When I first ordered my Credit Profile,I couldn't see anything on my monitor. After several calls and weeks I could finally see my Credit profile. So far so good. In 2007 I ordered online by TU Credit Monitoring for 22$ every 3 months. There is a automatic renewal if you don't cancel the service prior to the next quarter.

    In April 2008 I called TU and told someone to cancel this service before June 2008.(the next quarter) The Lady told me it is to early to cancel this service now (in April) and I have to call in May 08 again to cancel the service. I told her I am not willing to call again next month and if she would write it down and cancel it next month or whatever. She told me again I have to call again next month! I told her I wont pay anything anymore and I don't refuse further payments.

    Of course I can cancel this service anytime I want. This is even stated in their own Terms of Purchase. Would someone here please give some HELPFUL Information where to complain about this company? I am from Europe and there are Consumer Protection Unions who take Action against those criminal Companies. They wouldn't exist for years like here in this country. Please post some effective Advise.     I had numerous inaccuracies on my credit report and I noticed that not only was it inaccurate but it was also missing a lot of good information. I have a car that I pay installments on monthly and I have been paying on time since February 2008 however it is not on my credit report at all. The Finance company has indicated that they are reporting however it is not showing on my report.

    I wrote a letter to TransUnion Indicationg that I would like for this positive information added ASAP and they responded by sending me a letter saying that the information that I am disputing does not show in my credit report! I am thniking to myself I know that is why I contacted you in the first place!?! They are not alone in having a letter written to them regarding my car note not being ton the report; this complaint includes Gateway Financial ( no reponse yet)TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. No resolve has been made and I am highly upset about it , PLEASE HELP! Thanks-

    This has impacted my credit score horribly I am attempting to repair my credit and I can't because my report is inaccurate to begin with. My score is lower than it was when I signed a contract to get a car , yet I do not have not entered into or defaulted any other agreements that would cause a drop in my score and an increase in the negative info that is being promoted by them. Filed online dispute--the TU online form is structured such that it does not accept a complaint of incomplete report but I sent in info as best I could. Received response that the disputed item did not appear on the report, so all OK.

    Wrote to TU, sending them Equifax report (which is complete and which shows my perfect credit) and a letter explaining that credit was denied based on TU report due to too few accounts with sufficient satisfactory performance--remember, no accounts at all are listed on my TU account!--and that I demand either an updated credit report or they should stop handing out this non-information to inquiring creditors. The response I received was another Enclosed is your Personal Credit Report that you requested and it is exactly the one I'm complaining about--no info on it except for name, address, SSN! What am I to do? How does TransUnion get away with such gross negligence? Who is reading and responding to the complaints they receive? Where is the Consumer Protection we hear so much about?

    My son requested a credit report from TransUnion. When he received it he noticed there were 5 credit cards listed that were not his. He asked me if they were mine. After checking the FULL NUMBERS LISTED ON THE CREDIT REPORT WITH BALANCES, I was able to confirm that yes they were my cards. The cards are joint between my husband and myself.

    Two different banks hold the credit cards. The first bank who held two of the cards told me that they do not have any information on my husband on file as he is just listed as an authorized signer. They only had my social security number. The other bank who held the other three had all of my husbands personal information.

    TransUnion posts a TrueCredit Privacy Statement which states TrueCredit takes precautions to secure your personal information. This company gave my son our FULL CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AND BALANCES. This is a breach of the PRIVACY ACT. If our credit card numbers fall into the wrong hands we would be writing you for a different issue, all because of the negligence of Trans Union, giving out credit card numbers of consumers to unauthorized persons.

    I applied for a loan and found that I have many medical bills that my ex is supposed to be paying. We are straightening that out. But, I also found that all 3 credit bureau's are saying that there have been too many inquiries that have impacted my score. I have only asked for 1 credit check from my current credit union and the home loan in the last 3 years. It doesn't show who has checked my credit. How do I find this out? I can't get a home loan because of my credit score.

    since 2001, I have tried to have a PAID IRS tax lien removed from my credit report along with 2 additional PAID judgments. I have the Lien release and also 2 letters from the other 2 law firms stating the judgments are satisfied. Trans Union refuses to accept them. I even contacted the court who staes as per the tax lien it is not even on public record anymore since it was paid over 10 years and released for 7

    Credit score is suffering, future creditors throw these three public record items at me and refuse credit.

    After being denied credit, I went to the TransUnion web site in hopes of getting a copy of my credit report. I signed-up for the Truecredit 30-day free trial, being led to believe that that was the portal. I was introduced to ads of every credit type imaginable, things I could have googled to find, but wasn't interested to find on TransUnion. I was not able to see the individual creditors on my so-called credit report. So, after visiting the incredibly user-unfriendly site, I decided to cancel my trial and call TransUnion tomorrow, then couldn't find the option to cancel anywhere!

    The web site used to be professional and usable. Now it's ridiculous. This was not a site to help consumers. It was a site set-up to sell products. If there is another site for TransUnion, please let me know! I will not go back to that one.

    I was preparing to purchase a new vehicle so I printed copies of my free annual credit reports and paid for the credit scores from all three. The lowest was 688 from Transunion. Two weeks later, I applied for a vehicle loan at my bank and the Transunion score had dropped to 611 for no reason as I had no changes in my credit.

    I was denied a car loan and totally embarrassed. I'm sure the bank thought I was lying to them when I initially told them my scores. The loan officer did state that he has had other people with the same complaint so I don't think I'm the only one.

    I had a collections against my credit show up recently, from a debt I had discharged some years ago. The number of the collections "agency", when I called to ask about this, was an individual who offered to clear my credit if I sent him a POA and $375. He did not have a file on me. When I called TransUnion to tell them that the phone number they had associated on this 'debt' did not even belong to a collections agency, I was treated to a long, rote answer that had nothing to do with the fact that they were reporting a debt that did not exist; with a number to a person who was not a collections agency. I was offered NO explanation nor offered any options for clearing up this problem.

    When I logged on to get my credit report, the information in the system would not allow me to get my credit report. The security question is the issue because it asked me the name of my father's grandfather and his personal information. The point is I never had information about the date of birth of my grandfather other than his name and now I am locked out of the system in order to see and correct information that is being used for my credit history.

    I was turned down for credit, which entitles me to a free credit report. I wrote to Transunion for it, enclosing the credit denial letter that showed my address. I received a response that I must confirm my address by sending them a copy of mail, such as a bank statement or utility bill. I received this letter from Transunion at my address, but obviously they want to collect personal information from me that I do not want them to have - such as my the name of my financial institution and bank balance! Since credit agency information is used to judge consumers, it stands to reason that the agencies ought to be working and providing accurate information.

    We all know they do not do this, else consumers wouldn't have to "correct" credit reports, which is done every day. The consumers do the work, and Transunion exploits them and markets their personal information. When www.listclassaction.com goes live on June 16, 2008, consumers are supposed to be able to get credit report/scores for free, since a court found that Transunion violated consumer privacy. I wonder if I will be able to get that report without giving them yet MORE of my personal information that ought to be none of their business in the first place.

    Per my lawyer, I sent all three credit bureaus specific bankruptcy paperwork concerning my mother. The first page and others that followed had my mother's name on them because she filed a Chapter 7. I received a letter from "Trans Union saying they couldn't match the information with my credit report. Of course they couldn't. It belongs to my mother's credit report. Please read the info and apply to the proper account. My name only appears in the return address! Please reply then when you have made the correction. Thank you

    I was trying to e-mail transunion about a huge discrepency in my credit score. With no deliquencies on 8-11-07 my score was 811. As of 3-28-08 my score dropped to 730. I would like an explanation for this as I have become debt free, and are never late. Thank you for your attention

    I signed up for a 3 in 1 credit report and analysis thru an online website. They were supposed to supply me with a credit report that had all 3 credit reporting agencies in it. This was supposed to be good for 1 month and then I paid an additional $9.95 for a monthly reporting to my email. Despite my many attempts to log in to my account, I was unsuccessful. I called daily to their customer service and was told that the issue would be resolved and I could log into the account in 5-10 minutes. I tried many times, but was still unsuccessful.

    On day 3 I called back and explained that I signed up for this service 3 days ago and was unable to log in. The lady then told me that she would forward the complaint to a technician who would fix the problem and that I would be able to log into the account in 24-28 hours. I felt like she was reading a prompter.

    I then called my bank and requested a dispute on the initial charges of $44.90 and to block all future transactions. I also called the customer service back and requested a cancellation. The only confirmation that she would give me was her employee ID #. I have a feeling that this is a hoax and would recommend staying away from the website.

    The consequence to this issue has been my time and the charge of $44.90 and possibly more charges if they try to process more on my debit card.

    I don't have all the information on these credit reporting agencies, but several months ago I requested a free annual credit report by mail and have not received as of this date. It seems as though they want me to view my report online, but I don't want to do that because in order to view my report online, I'm also agreeing to some kind of free trial offer that I'm not interested in. Can you assist me? There is no damage that I am aware of except it is hindering me to address any errors that need to be corrected, or anything that I need to be attentive to to clean up my credit.

    I received a credit monitoring letter from my bank(Bank of America) informing that someone made an inquiry about my credit report. I called the bank, and they had no idea who this was but told me to call Trans Union. I called Trans Union and they informed me that I would have to pay or join some club to find out who they gave my information to. I do not know who the person or business is.

    None yet, but I would like to know who they give my information to and what is needed to get someone's information from credit bureau.

    I signed up for the free 30-day credit monitoring service through TransUnion. At the time of setting this up, you provide a credit card for the 9.95 charges for the months after the free trial is over. This was fine, as I thought the service would benefit me in some way. After the first couple of months that I paid the 9.95, I realized that I really didn't need to continue with the service. I went to the website to find a phone number to call and cancel the service, however, I couldn't find one. I looked on my bank statement and found a number that way. The initial call took forever as you have to go through several automated prompts just to get to Customer Service. Once I finally got someone on the phone, the rep didn't even speak English well and read from a screen. Be careful..... if you ask a question that is not on their computer screen with an answer they can read off to you, they hang up the phone.

    Needless to say, I was very frustrated. Once I finally got to someone that could understand and speak English well, I proceeded to tell her that I wanted to cancel the service. She said okay and asked why I wanted to cancel the service. I told her that I wasn't getting any use out of it. She went on to supply multiple reasons as to why she thought I should keep the service. I finally said Just cancel the service, I don't want it, period. She said okay and indicated that the service was cancelled. I said So I will no longer be charged 9.95 correct? She said No, there will not be a charge to your card after today. I said okay and thank you. Then to my surprise, on April 12, 2008 there was a 9.95 charge to my debit card. I called the number I previously called to ask why are they charging me for a service that was cancelled. The woman on the phone told me that the 'offline' service was not cancelled. I said that when I signed up for the service, I wasn't asked Do you want online and/or offline service?. I simply signed up for one service and cancelled the one service. She continued to read off the screen indicating that the offline service wasn't cancelled. I said that this is not my problem as a customer. This is a company process and lack of training, which I should not be responsible for.

    I let them know that I contacted my bank and the credit has not gone through from TransUnion. The rep indicated that it can take 3-5 business days to credit it back. I told her this was unacceptable as the service was cancelled and there should never have been a charge to begin with. She indicated that 3-5 days is policy. I asked to speak to another manager that could tell me a specific date and time the credit would be sent to my bank. She said that I would need to talk to someone in 'upper management' as she did not have that information. Once I finally got to an 'upper managment' rep, he simply indicated that the credit could take up to 2 billing cycles to be credited back to my account. And as for the overdraft charges, I would need to provide a statement from the bank showing the 9.95 charge and the 20.00 charge associated with it. He then said to fax it to them requesting reimbursement and a brief description of the problem. During this conversation, there was no apology or any sign of concern for TransUnions bad training, bad processes, or lack of admission of wrong doing. For those of you out there thinking that the Free Credit Monitoring is a good thing, it isn't.

    This is the first time I have studied the credit reporting aspect of finance. I purchased a report and score from Transunion and received a score of 865 (B). I could not imagine anyone having better credit than mine. I learned that part of the problem was that I had no real estate accounts (I own my house outright) and the other problem was that I did not have large credit limits. I do not need large credit lines! I used to be a Credit Manager, a Business consultant, and a Statistical analyst and based on the info from a phone conversation with Transunion I have concluded that the formula does not generate a determination of creditworthiness and they can't inform me how my report would be different from one who had a score of 100 above mine except to say something incredibly stupid and incriminating, It would be a hundred points more than yours. I have concluded that Transunion is guilty of fraud and slander. They can't produce anything objective and concrete to prove otherwise. I plan on being very noisy about this.

    I had id theft. My credit is now frozen. No one is supposed to be able to access my credit report without my permission. I have a pin number where I call in to release my credit for a certain period. I can either generically open my credit where anyone can access my report while the time frame is in force or I can get a temporary pin number to give to the creditor. Now I have always chosen the pin number route. It has never worked since the first time. Once before it was automated, I received a pin number that was short by two digits and just recently after getting a pin number the creditor told me the pin number for them was not sufficient and required the release to be creditor specific. (not an option on the automated phone system)

    Just a pain. One always has to follow up and call around to get the mess straightened out. Interestingly, the credit reporting agencies are required by my state to provide this service to me for free...probably because of the simple fact that these companies have not been good stewards of our credit information...I feel like they are resisting doing what the state of IL has legislated them to do

    They are reporting one of my long standing good accounts as an adverse account, filed under bankruptcy. I did file bankruptcy more than 3 years ago now. However, I chose not to include my AAFES, Military Star card account. This has negatively impacted my credit report and I think it is a bad business practice that I must continue to write to this credit bureau with ridiculous results. How can they say this account is adverse, when they themselves are reporting it as paid as agreed? I don't think I need an attorney, but I need somewhere to report my problem and get it fixed once and for all.

    My credit score is low because this is a large account and caused me problems when I bought my house. I had to show proof that Trans Union was falsely reporting.

    I decided hey it might be nice to check all three of my credit reports, I was pleasantly surprised with Experian and Equifax and was feeling pretty good about myself. That was until I came across TransUnion's report and discovered I am a 60 year old woman named (name withheld) who owes $12,000 of bad debt. The problem here is I am 36 and male and have a max of $300 of debt proudly. So it seems they merged my mother's information with mine and now I have to jump through hoops to get them to fix their error. I have this nagging feeling in my gut this will take numerous phone calls and months before it is resolved. So until then my mortgage dream is on hold.

    Mortgage application will now be on hold. Credit card request have been denied because of this.

    On 11/29/2007 Trans Union received a Credit File request for someone with my name but a different address. The company that sent the request was NCO Financial, a debt collection agency. When I pulled my credit file it shows you the name and address of the company that made the request for your file as well as the information that they sent to identify the person who's file they need. Trans Union released my file to NCO Financial without matching my name to the information they received.

    When I saw the inquiry on my file I could not believe that something so simple as matching name and address was so difficult. When I called Trans Union I was told that Trans Union will only send a credit file to a company that identified me by name, address or social security number. Not long after I made that call to Trans Union I received a letter from them that gave me a description of various items on my credit file. I also sent Trans Union proof of their mistake and they once again sent the description of item on my file letter. Trans Union refuses to acknowledge their mistake and they tell me I have to fix it. When I spoke to Ron he looked at my file and confirmed that the information NCO Financial sent did not match my information on my file. I also stated to Ron that if NCO was really looking for me why didn't I get anything in the mail from them?

    In the age of Identity theft and people in the business of stealing, I could not believe that Trans Union made a simple mistake like this and forwarded my file to a company that was not looking for me. Trans Union also violated my Fair Credit Reporting Act rights in doing so.

Therefore I was kicked out for security purposes. I could not find a Customer Service phone number, either. Funny how I had no problem with Experian and Equifax.

    Transunion has been continually giving me a low score on my credit file of about a 520. I filed Ch7 three years ago and have re-established with 5 credit cards and a perfect payment history--no lates. I have been denied car loans, ect. I called them; they told me I can't dispute a score, and its the new scoring system. I feel this so-called new system will hurt the working poor in this country. I need a car to work and make some kind of a living.

    Denied car loan, More inquires will lower my credit score even more. Economic damage most likely as I am unable to meet my needs of basic survival in the future, to work and get around. Or I can pay 21% interest and just pay for a car and go without food. This is a disgrace, and I really hope people read this.

    On December 30, 2007, I logged on to the annual Free Credit Report. I was able to get Equifax and Experian. Trans Union wouldn't let me out of ICS. They claimed that I have previously established a name and password. They expected me to remember? Used only once last year! I checked that I had forgotten. Entered my SS# and date of birth. Then it requested the name of a friend. If I couldn't remember the other; how would I remember the name of a friend? I'm 78 and keep receipts so that I can remember what I purchased last week.

    I tried to get a free copy of my reports from all three credit bureaus. The only bureau that was a problem, a big one, was TransUnion. All bureaus except TransUnion accepted my correct answers of provided information and let me see my reports. The maddening thing about TU is that I got to a web page on which they said I had correctly answered all questions, but they still would not let me see my report. After logging out--the only option--and going back in, and turning down the option to pay $10 to see my supposedly-free report, I ended up back at the same page that said I had answered everything correctly but logging out was now the only choice. It's especially annoying because I suspect that TU has incorrect information in its file on me.

    Seven years ago I had similar maddening problems with TU. I wrote them six times in four months to try and get a correct and complete copy of my report. After about the third letter they sent me a short report that had only a fraction of the information on a report I got from them nine years before that. It took three more letters over several months to finally extract a much longer, full report from them.

    This time I'm not playing games with them. Yesterday I sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission; they oversee the credit bureaus. It's obvious from the log of complaints at this site that TU is a slovenly corporation that only complies with the law when they feel like it, get around to it, or are faced with legal action. I recommend that everyone bombard the FTC until these weasels start toeing the line like the other two bureaus. Here is the FTC's address: Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington DC 20580. If we all take action maybe we can turn the situation around. It's better than suffering individually, like TU wants us to do.

    I ordered Transunion services online at truecredit@email.truecredit.com on August 24, 2007. The price is 9.95/month, first 30 days free. In September I wanted to cancel this service, but I could not find any cancellation info. in their website--neither e-mail nor mailing address. They did mail me a letter informing me how to view my credit report online. I used that address to mail them a letter on 9/18/07 and asked them to cancel the service. I did not receive any response, but they charged me in September and October.

    They offer the order services very conveniently but make it very inconvenient to cancel. Finally I called their 800 number on 11/14/07, 9:20 pm. They canceled it for me. When I complained that there's no information provided on their website how to cancel, the lady just hung up on me. I paid for the September charge but am not willing to pay for October charge. I am very dissatisfied with their way and attitude toward handling cancellations.

    I have disputed in a legal letter with attachments of my credit files regarding various companies having no authorization, signature nor legal business with me to be pulling any inquiries or credit reports on me. Yet Transunion writes me a letter each time I have disputed these same items and tell me that these will remain on my credit for 2 years regardless, and that if companies have a permissible reason to pull they may. These companies never had a permissible reason. There have been 10 mortgage inquiries in 2 years which I certainly didn't authorize.

    This is my credit file and everything to do with my life. I dont want anyone to be able to pull my credit without me being the one asking them to do this. Please investigate Transunion at your earliest convienience and help to resolve this very serious situation. I will not tolerate this careless handling of my credit file any further. My credit score has dropped, and I am paying double the interest as a result.

    Transunion is charging my checking account $19.95 a month, and I cannot make them stop. This month again they charged me $19.95 and it put me over-limit; I was charged $32.00 for insufficient funds. I talked with my bank and was told it would cost $32.00 to stop payment on each transaction. It is imperative that I resolve this. If you can give me any other information I would appreciate it. I am already out $87.90.

    I signed up for the 30 day FREE trial of credit monitoring with Transunion/TrueCredit, and the 1st 30 days is free, with no charge until AFTER the 30 days. Today, when I signed up for my free trial, not only did they CHARGE ME ANYWAY, but they also charged me almost DOUBLE the amount! Not only is this an unauthorized charge, but it's also misleading information, and also a SCAM!


    I want the money put back into my account and for them to pay for the damages as a result of my account being withdrawn

    I was declined a mortgage because there was a public record on my report that wasn't mine. The debt was paid to just to top it all off. It has been paid by the person it belonged to and it had been paid for 2 years and it has been on my report for 2 years, but still showing as unpaid still to this date.     Submitted several disputes over false and erroneous credit reports held by TransUnion. They would not investigate as they advertise, they only verfy what the so called creditors claim to be the truth. TransUnion does NOT verify if creditors info is true. TU claims they can post and forward false credit reports like this any time they want to because it's not their responsibility to verify false or out of date reports.

    I have been fighting with Transunion to correctly update my credit file since my bankruptcy in April of 2005. I have filed all of the proper papers, and even faxed over my bankruptcy papers and letters from companies including my student loans showing I am not delinquent. They even messed that up, instead of correcting my student loan, they added that to my bankruptcy. Which you can't even include student loans. I called them, and said they couldn't find my papers and would have to research. This was 2 months ago nothing has changed.

    TransUnion is almost always used, and their information is out-of-date. I cannot get past their security system, to change or dispute the information, because their security system uses that out-of-date information to prove that I am me. I cannot find any e-mail address, to which I can send a complaint, and they provide no address to write them by. Only a toll free number.

    I paid off my bills in April of 04. The 3 major credit co's did not remove 3 accounts that I paid, including 1 court judgement. Since that time I have repeatedly tried, without success, to borrow money for various business and personal reasons. I did find out that they failed to remove the cases in Jan of this year.

    These errors have cost me endless money over the last (almost) 3 yrs. I have had borrow money at VERY HIGH interest rates. I will gladly do a work up of the cost. This has cost me lost income from not being able to fund my business, and having to return to the workforce. I will GLADLY work up a report if needed. I truly hope you are able to help me. This is something that should not go w/o consequences.

    In 2003 I noticed that nother lady's name was on my personal credit report under my social security number. I contacted TransUnion (The only one of the three listing this other name) and was believed it be to corrected. I run a credit check again this weekend only to find out that nothing was ever done and the other lady has declared bankruptcy. After talking to the bankruptcy court I was able to determine that our last four digits are the same in our SS number, but that is all. TransUnion continues to put her information on my account. Since this is not intentional fraud, a fraud alert does not help me. Who holds TransUnion accountable for the damage they do to individuals for their inaccuracies?

    I am at my wit's end with Trans Union! I was lucky enough to get a good bonus at work in September and used the money to pay off debts. Before making a big purchase, I decided to get copies of my credit reports. Experian and Equifax are reporting my accounts correctly, but Trans Union is still reporting the old, high balances that I had before I paid them off in October (it is now the middle of January).

    I have been fighting with Trans Union for 3.5 months to get this information corrected, to no avail. Calling gets you nowhere - hold times are ridiculously long, the agents barely speak English and they read from a computer screen. When I try to dispute online I get a message that says "Investigative credit report: System unavailable". I was told to send any supporting information, so I sent a letter to Trans Union from my credit card company saying that my account was paid in full, and I also sent a copy of my zero-balance credit card statement. I got a letter back from Trans Union saying that they "are unable to accept the documentation I sent". This has been going on for over three months!

    Transunion has my wrong name in their records. There is no way to change this. I have called them numerous times in the past to no avail. They insist on calling me Nancyellen Ellen xx. I am Nancyellen Francis xx. I feel they sell this information because I get flyers and various junk mail in the mail with the name Nancyellen Ellen on it, or Nancyellen E. Ellen or solicitors calling and asking for Nancy Allen.

    Also the Fico score is only available for a fee but they have statements all over saying click here, for free credit SCORE. When you finally jump through all their hoops to get it, they of course want a credit card. They allow very little room to rectify a complaint or inaccuracy. They are not honest, do not serve the public and are not a true and accurate reflection of ones credit score. Recently there has been a movement among financiers to move away from their tactics and use other reporting companies. I support them.

    I aplied for a mortgage loan and was denied. Part of the decision was based on two items on my credit report in the amount of $4200.00 and $110.00. Both of these items have been satisfied.(several YEARS ago!) yet they have not be removed from my report.

    I wanted a cell phone and went to TMobile. They used TransUnion to verify who I was and claimed my social security did not match up to who I was. I had to give them original utility bills, photocopy both sides of my SS#, driver's license, etc. Trans Union still said I was not me. I phoned social security, who agreed I was me, spent the morning at ss where I received documentation from them also agreeing I was who I was, had this faxed to them via TMobile - and they still say I am not me. I was offered a free report if there is a dispute, yet after going through their automation, was again, denied.

    I eventually spoke with a live person, who wants this documentation faxed, again, only via me versus tMobiles' fax to prove who I was. I give up. A cell phone isn't worth it, but what I may have done to myself by way of junk mail solicitation or having my credit royally ruined by this company may be unrepairable.

    I recently got a new mortgage and TransUnion had information from 14 years ago that was incorrect on my report. Later I ordered a full credit report form and credit protection service and found that much of TransUnion's info was old and different from the other two agencies.

    I was online trying to purchase a credit score. I used my credit card and was told that the charge did not initially go through (declined). When I called my bank they informed me that the charge did indeed go through and that I should contact Transunion. Upon contacting them, the transaction was completed and I was assured that my card would not be charged twice.

    However, it indeed was charged twice and I cannot get a customer service number or any contact information to have the charged removed. The number that was on the site before I placed my order is no longer available. It seems that as soon as they had my money, all customer service contact info was removed from the site.

    I tried to order the free trial of the transuion credit report, and when i selected it, I was funneled into a different, $30 plan. IT was deceptivley confusing. When I called to complain and spoke with a customer service rep and a manager, they were willing to refund $10 of the $30, but not all of it.

    I went to annualcreditreport.com to get my free annual report. WhenI selected Transunion, I could not remember my sign in name and password from last year. I was directed to a page that asked for my last name, last 4 digits of my SS#, email address and zip code. I gave them all the CORRECT info & the next screen stated that the info did not match their records. I had problems last year with them too.

    A few months ago I was turned down for a mortgage and received a letter stating the primary reason as serious delinquency and length of time of delinquency. I was shocked and called the bank immediately. The bank informed me TransUnion showed delinquencies reported to a collection agency from MCI (I've never had MCI) and a public library over 1000 miles away that I have never even set foot in. In order to access my credit report via their website TransUnion made me pay $10. Even though it seemed ridiculous for them to make money off their errors I paid because it said I'd have access for 30 days.

    However, once I logged off I was never able to log back in even though they have an account for me and charged my card. What exactly did I pay for? Once I saw my credit report I noticed it showed my current address in Syracuse, New York I went to college 10 years ago however, I have not been back since and have never lived at that particular address. I disputed this information as well as, the delinquent charges using the process on their website. TransUnion has yet to respond or do anything this was on may 12 today is June 24.

    When I called the collection agency, they confirmed the accounts belonged to some one else with the same first, last name and middle initial who lived at the address on my TransUnion credit report. However, this person has a different social security number and date of birth. I have a very common first, last and middle name it's likely there are dozens of us out there. Shouldn't TransUnion know to make sure more than just names match? This seems pretty basic.

    Although the collection agency agreed the accounts belong to a different person they wouldn’t remove it and said I needed to call MCI but they didn't have the phone number. The only number I could find kept me on hold for 25 minutes and it never said any company name only, “thanks for holding someone will be with you shortly” yet no one ever answered. I've tried every number I can find to get a hold of TransUnion and all of their phone numbers hang up on me. One wants a number on my credit report that's not there and I'm not about to give them more money to get.

    So far I have been turned down for a mortgage and a loan. Recently I have been applying to do volunteer work and am concerned this will show up on the background check. Certainly if I were to apply to a different company it would be an issue, companies don't like to hire people who have severely delinquent accounts. I have worked very hard to have good credit despite lay offs and medical bills so this is extremely frustrating. If anyone knows anything that would help I'd be extremely grateful.

    I also have had a problem with transunion not correcting issues on my credit report as paid even though the credit company reported to them twice that it was paid with them. I have obtained a number in which you can speak with an actual live person I feel the need to share this number since I have read that so many people cannot get in touch with a person, only a recording. The number is 1-800-916-8800. Once prompted to press or say a number, please say or press the number 2 and it will transfer you to a customer service rep.

    Of all the three credit reporting agencies, this is the worst!! Inaccurate, outdated information. Unable to access e-mail,address,or phone. Was able to update home address from 7 years ago..but since the rest of the report was not negative.. wasn't worth fooling with such an organization

    I have repeatedly asked them to remove me you know the opt out number they give to the lists of our names they sell? I have visited the website to try and get a copy of my credit report, and I am told I have an account. I don't think so. I keep asking them to check on it and I hear nothing. I can't get a copy of my report from them and a person I filed a sexual harassment complaint against has been applying for auto loans, credit cards, home loans.

    Someone has opened up accounts in my name, and have now accessed my bank accounts and credit card accounts. It has cost me over 5000.00!

    I have been trying to get an innaccuracy corrected for about 9 months and it cost me money to keep checking my credit report. I have a homecomings financial account saying derogatory. It also says included in bankruptcy. I have paid this loan off and made every payment. I have disputed this several times and get the same answer back. VERIFIED,NO CHANGE.

    I had Homecomings send the big 3 credit agencies the necessary info to correct the problem on all three reports. They have sent them this info several different times over the past 9 months. Finally the last time they sent the info to all 3 credit agencies experian got it right but equifax and transunion has got it wrong. I have disputed both transunion and equifax. Still waiting on equifax. Transunion came back again VERIFIED, NO CHANGE.

    After e-mailing Homecomings they told me to send them a copy of my last report and they will send it again. It is impossible to speak with the people who deals with disputes. The customer reps only take info and that is all they do. I know for a fact they are wrong. I have proof they are wrong. I feel I have no where to turn to solve the innacuracy. Equifax is even worse as they have more than one innacuracy on my report. I am just waiting to see the results from Equifax to see if I need to make a complaint toward them. I do not know what else to say since I feel so powerless against Transunion as they control my credit worthiness.

    Economically it makes it hard for me to get credit with good rate. I have felt very humiliated when I get turned down in stores. Trying to deal with Transunion and the others as well is very upsetting in itself. My husband tells me to calm down. It is hard to spend all the time and effort and to do it honestly to fix the credit problem only to get shot down. NOT ONCE,TWICE BUT THREE TIMES.

    I sent a check for 5.95 to get my credit score. They have cashed this. I also sent my required information to obtain a free credit report. I have gotten nothing in return. I sent this information first class mail the first week of March. I can provide the cancelled check.

    Loss of 5.95 and my sensitive personal information.

    A credit report was denied on line from Transunion (was able to receive Experian and Equifax). I was unable to speak to a human being at Transunion. All I could get was "recorded" information. There isn't any problem with the other two agencies.

    For the past five years I have been disputing items that are on my credit report that have not been taken care of. I have three people on my credit report. Transunion reports a very low credit score and I have not been able to get this corrected.

    I am denied credtit due to the low credit score reported by transunion and pay higher interest rates than I should.
