Fetch Pet Insurance

(In Canada) Fetch by the Dodo (previously known as Petplan) is an unethical, untrustworthy and horrible company. For someone who is planning to enroll pet insurance, it’s better to avoid this company. I enrolled the pet insurance for my dog aged 3 months in 2021. At that moment, there was no medical check up report request but I was asked for it when I submitted a claim after 4 months because my dog got diarrhea. I felt upset and frustrated as there was no point to get a medical check up report after a vet visit with spending additional $200 for claiming $150.

Pretty sure this is a fraudulent company. The ONLY way they’ll cover anything is if you purchase the insurance the day pet is born and DOESN’T have any issues. I bought a Bichon pup that was 1 yr old, he came from a home where he was neglected. The day after a got him I took him to vet because he had issues from being not cared for; ears filthy and urine scalding on his belly. Also, born with congenital phimosis.

Fetch is a total scam. We filed a really small claim for our dog, the first one in multiple years with Fetch. We called 12 times and each time we were told our file was complete and awaiting review. 6 months later, no response. We called again and the agent said "I think it's not going to get reimbursed". We asked "Why" and the agent said, "Well sometimes claims get lost in the system and passed around and nobody ever reviews it. I can't make a new one as the vet records are already assigned to this claim." We asked what we could do and she said, "nothing, you have to wait". Our vet called, our lawyers called, every time we are told it's awaiting review. This is from Fall 2022. Don't waste your time, they won't reimburse you, even for a small thing.

I adopted my 4 year old, healthy female cat from the SPCA on 12/28/22. I purchased insurance from FETCH on the same day. On 3/9/23, my cat became ill. I called 3 vets to get an appointment. The soonest available appointment was in 4 days. Rather than wait, I took her to an urgent care Vet on 3/10/23. I submitted the Vet's paperwork and receipt with my claim within 2 weeks of her visit. I received a request from FETCH's claim reviewer about 2 weeks later. To complete their review, FETCH needed evidence of a recent medical exam that would indicate she was in 'good health' dated no more that 6 months before the date of her urgent care visit.

Strike my earlier complaint. They adequately resolved the issue and clarified confusion. We will continue to use their services moving forward.

We have had Fetch since we’ve had our sweet Labradoodle Lucy. She is our first pet so we have no comparison. She has developed Cushing Syndrome which is expensive, and having good insurance has been a blessing. Claim filing is easy and quickly completed. They keep you informed throughout the process. I have been with them since 2017 they are affordable and fair about claims my dog had surgery on both knees when she was 6 they covered all the medical and follow ups. They have the best customer service this is the company you want to have if there is an emergency. My fur Babies are my whole world I have two and have recommend them for years my family uses them thank you for taking care of my babies.

My 1 year old Havanese Lizzy started having urinary issues so I took her to my vet & she was put on antibiotics. After 5 days there was no improvement so they did a urine test & then a x-ray & discovered 5 stones in the bladder & recommended surgery. She had the surgery & came out of it with everything being okay. Fetch paid everything that my policy outlined without question & in less than 2 weeks of the money was deposited in my account. I would definitely recommend Fetch for their professionalism & quick response during a difficult & stressful time. I had a different insurance company with my last dog & they were by no means as good.

Fetch absolutely came through for my sweet little dog Ruby. She had severe patellar luxation in her back right knee that was inhibiting normal activity, and she isn't even two yet! I am SO glad I got this insurance for her when she was just 3 months old. It is easy to file a claim, and I received responses and updates via text and email to let me know the claim was in review. Within less than two weeks I had 80% of my total surgery cost deposited straight into my bank account. I have been recommending Fetch to everyone I know! SO grateful and pleased with everything about this company!

Fetch has processed my claims in a timely manner and it was very easy to do! I highly recommend them!!! They have wonderful customer service and I haven’t had any issues with them not covering my claims for my kitty that has been sick. I’m very happy with them!

I’ve had to make two claims now since having Fetch. Was very easy to navigate and I was reimbursed fairly quickly. I love Fetch and I am thankful to have it when I need the coverage. I also really like the app!

This insurance is great!! When you have any issues with your pet and you sent a claim they pay you back immediately. My dog has a surgery one year ago and this year she had skin allergies, I sent the records from the vet and the invoice and I got my money back in less than a week. I recommend one hundred percent.

I found this company to be excellent in communication, fast payment and great customer service. I would highly recommend this company. They contact me to let me know they received all the claim and let me know when it's being worked on and when payout is made. It doesn't take long for the claims to be taken care of. Thanks so much.

I was with Petplan (now Fetch) with my previous dog and now my current dog. I've never had any issues. The claim process is super easy and the wait time for reimbursement is quick especially with direct deposit! I tell everyone who gets a puppy to get insurance with Fetch.

The response on all of my invoices that I have sent them has been quick. Although I am new to this insurance, I am learning quickly what I can be reimbursed for by their continued text messages. I would highly recommend them as insurers for your new pet. Thank you.

I highly recommend this company to any pet owner. You never know if you’re going to have a sick pet and you have to take them to emergency care and they have to run a bunch of tests to find out what’s going on with your fur baby. They are very thorough and prompt with processing claims. I would recommend this company to all pet owners.

I have had this Insurance since my sweet girl was a baby and just recently had to use it. They gave me no hassles and paid within a reasonable amount of time. If you are looking for a great pet insurance this is it! GREAT TO HAVE!

I signed up for Fetch insurance hoping and thinking I wouldn’t really need it for my newly adopted cat. Only a few months later she fractured her leg and needed surgery. Everyone answered my questions + concerns promptly and less than a week after submitting claims I had money back. I have already recommended it to everyone I know!

My claim was rejected .My vet prescribed medicine which was previously accepted before. When we contacted them, the girl had no answer and said she was going to pass it on to someone else. All I got was a rejection.... No explanation to why. It was approved in the past but for some reason denied now.

Fetch always gives me the peace of mind knowing that I will be able to do anything possible to help give my boys the best care possible! Knowing that so many services are covered including complementary medicine makes it possible to do everything you can to help your pet get better and live their best life!

We had an incident just weeks after we started with Fetch that cost thousands of dollars. Fetch paid every bit of it, less the deductible and co-pay we had agree to. Very honorable and paid all of what they said they would. Very much appreciated.

I was pleased that the insurance paid what they were supposed to and pretty quickly. I do recommend it to other dog parents. Certainly worth it. The premiums are reasonable. I did need some help sending over forms but I did it.

I needed to have surgery done on my dog. He had a growth on his belly and eyelid. My dog had the surgery and everything is great. My claim was paid within 72 hours after it was processed. The service was excellent. I highly recommend them.

The claim submissions is a fast process, they have a great application that is user friendly. This service has saved my dog's life many times. I recommend it to all dog owners. Price is reasonable and definitely worth it. Note that they don’t offer preventative treatments such as flea treatment or specific dietary foods.

Membership too high for two dogs. If one dog's insurance runs out, should be available to use the others dogs. Why should my dog suffer if I am paying insurance so high. It's been hard year for me, these are just not dogs, they are my children.
