We had Pet Plan for years and were very happy with their service. We liked them so much, we took out policies for our 6 other animals and recommended the company to all of our family and friends. Then Petplan was bought by someone else and turned in Fetch Pet Insurance. The deductibles went from per pet to per condition. This means that you can expect sometimes thousands of dollars in deductibles in a matter of months, which is what happened to us. The reimbursement rates plummeted from 90% reimbursement to 70%. We weren't even given the option to pay more for the policy we had. The ability to take out a 90% reimbursement rate disappeared. The monthly cost increased of each policy increased. All in all, there is just not even any benefit to having this insurance.
I am honestly surprised they are allowed to call themselves pet insurance. Their priority went from providing health insurance for pets to becoming an online rewards company. They honestly have no interest in providing care for pets and I expect the insurance to be phased out at any time. I have read tons of nightmare stories online about people who had their pet's policies canceled with no warning when their pets became old and sick. You are given no recourse other than to cancel the plan yourself, and by that time your pets are old and sick and cannot be insured with other companies due to pre-existing conditions. I would be extremely wary of doing any sort of business with this dishonest company. It's less insurance and more just a scam. Buyer beware.

Years ago, I made a decision and went with a pet insurance company that's now Fetch, and I got what I wanted. I've never had any problems. I'm ancient, so computers and I don't get along so well, but it's easy to get in their website and get my information. There's also always somebody to talk to or text, however one would wish. I'm so thrilled with the service. We had an experience where my dog needed a surgery. The total charge was $10,000, and they paid $9,000. I recommend this insurance to my neighbors. I walk my golden retriever, so everybody loves him and I get to talk to them. “Hey, do you have pet insurance on yours? You ought to do it. They take care of you.” I tell my neighbors to consider it and I tell them who Fetch is. They give me value for the money and it’s comfortable, so I like it.

I would use Fetch for anyone with a pet. If your pet has an injury or something that requires expensive veterinary care, it's very important. I purchased the policy, and the company that I purchased a policy with got sold to Fetch. They've done everything they said they would. I had a dog that needed surgery for a torn ACL or tendon, and they covered the 80% of what the policy said would be covered.

I liked the prices and all the free benefits I get along with Fetch. I was advised that it would be real good and their prices were very reasonable. I love Fetch to death. My daughter-in-law just got a Maine Coon and I told her she needed to get Fetch. They let you get certain things free. They also send you stuff to try out. I pay around $40 a month, but that includes my Cavapoo's shots. So, you can't go wrong there. He is a high-maintenance dog and he only gets only so tall. I know short little dogs have a lot of health problems. So, I keep insurance on him just to keep him all cared for. If I had to pay $100 a month, I would for him, because he's worth it.

I saw Fetch Pet Insurance online and I liked the reviews, which was why I went with them. The enrollment process was easy and I’ve had the policy for my dog for almost a year. I had options and got the best that was suited for us. The refund that you get when you do different services was one of the options that I chose. To file a claim, you submit your receipts on their website, such as for shots or when you get your pet spayed or neutered. Once you submit your bill, you have to enter all information and they may have questions. Then, they reach out to the vendor. If you’re going to have a pet, having pet insurance is extremely valuable.

I've had Fetch since it was originally Pet Plan. They were great...Until they weren't. They increased my deductible and decreased the amount of my coverage over the past few years. I'm a veterinarian and happily cover most issues without submitting anything but being a believer in having pet insurance. I keep it for the 'big things' including specialist visits. At this point, I'm paying far more than I'll ever see of benefit. I'd be better off saving the money for a rainy day instead of paying them. I'll be switching companies and I will not be recommending them to my clients.

I've had dogs for many years, and I know what it's like when you have one that gets really sick and you're faced with that tough decision. We chose not to be in that position and when I went online to look for a pet insurance, Fetch had some pretty good reviews. We went with them and have had them for at least four years now. We've had to use it once, and it was when our dog ended up in intensive care for a week. I didn't have any issues with their coverage. They're aggressive with their pricing, but they're fair.

I hadn't had a dog in 30 years, then I got blessed with our boy, Simba. I hear all these horror stories about dogs getting injured and paying $5,000, $6,000 for surgery. I don't have that kind of money if anything ever happened so I shopped around and I kept coming back that Fetch was the best of them. Enrolling with Fetch was real easy. I'm not really computer savvy and I usually have to have my 12 year old niece with me to help me through things, but I did it all on my own. I was so proud.
Communicating with Fetch has been very easy as well. A few months ago, my financial situation changed, and I had to lower my coverage. I called them, and there was no pressure. They changed it for me, and I was good to go. I already have told friends about Fetch. I told them for the amount of coverage they get compared to the dollar value, it is way better than the other ones that I was researching. I was looking into Pumpkin but and it didn't cover 40% of the stuff that's covered through Fetch.

I got a new dog, and I had heard it was important to start the dog young on pet insurance. I checked out Fetch and a bunch of other providers, and Fetch had the best coverage for the price. So far, it's been good. I've used it to cover certain costs for annual visits. When my pet was neutered, I was using Fetch at that time, and the payout worked very well. I paid for it then I got reimbursed. My only question is how much is Fetch per month?

This company is a waste of money. They do NOT pay out claims - they are difficult to deal with - and to be honest - they are a total scam. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! You pay monthly - then when you submit a claim - they deny it. I have tried with 2 pets - and they won't pay - for no valid reason. I don't think they ever pay out any claims!!!!

I was online for a pet insurance for my new pug baby. I have perks with my job and I was doing a comparison between that one and another one that they offered. I signed up with Fetch and whenever we have to file a claim, everything is done online. We submit the receipt via the app and they determine what's reimbursable and what's not. Then they reimburse us through the account which we pay for insurance. I'm grateful to have the insurance to help offset some of that cost. I have two children, and having a pet is like having another child in the house. I would recommend Fetch though what's reimbursable for and why is something I would want more of a conversation with. I want to get explanation on what makes certain things reimbursable by that amount or this amount, as opposed to full amount or different percentage of amount.

I adopted two cats and within two weeks, one of the cats swallowed something and had an obstruction, and it cost me over $5,000 to rectify the situation. This led me to look for pet insurance and at the time, I liked Fetch Pet’s cost. But it has gone up since then. This will be my second year with them and the insurance has been very valuable because I had to use it a year later. Overall, it was a good experience. It was quick and painless.

The first year I had Fetch insurance it was great. Fair coverage, clear EoBs, good customer service. The second year it all went the other direction. They rejected many claims, their EoBs are cryptic, and the cost skyrocketed. I have not gotten a fraction of the payouts I should have. When I tried to cancel, they rather bullied me, in the most pleasant way [read: manipulation], to continue. TRY ANOTHER COMPANY, FETCH IS NO LONGER WORTH IT.

They denied my claim for my dog's annual exam and heartworm prevention because I took her in four days before the new policy year kicked in. They refused to override the denial over the four days so I canceled the policy. I had been paying them $78 a month for the year. Fetch essentially stole money from me for a whole year and then refused to pony up the $110 they should have reimbursed me. What a waste of money. I am absolutely disgusted with them. They don't care about my dog. They are just like any other insurance company who do whatever they can to deny claims.

❌ Denied reimbursement for diagnostics.
❌ Denied reimbursement for X-rays.
❌ Denied ACL surgery entirely.
❌ Hid behind a policy exclusion never clearly explained at enrollment.
Let that be very clear: My dog suffered a documented accident, I paid hundreds just to diagnose the injury, and Fetch reimbursed nothing meaningful—despite years of premium payments. Policy manipulation & exclusions: Fetch advertises injury coverage, but once you file a claim, they:Retroactively apply broad orthopedic exclusions.
Redefine accident-related injuries as “excluded conditions”.
Use vague, buried policy language to deny high-cost care.
Leave pet owners paying thousands after years of premiums.
This is classic bad-faith insurance behavior. The reimbursement insult: On a separate $300+ veterinary visit, Fetch reimbursed only $115—a laughable amount considering:The annual premium.
The deductible structure.
The advertised 80% reimbursement rate.
This is not insurance. It is a reimbursement illusion.
Cancellation obstruction: When you realize Fetch is useless, they make it hard to escape:No phone number for real support.
No in-app cancellation.
Email-only requests that delay termination.
Charges continue while you wait.
This is retention by obstruction, not customer service.
Final warning to pet owners: If your pet suffers a serious injury—especially orthopedic—Fetch will not be there. They will:Take your premiums.
Deny your diagnostics.
Deny your surgery.
Hide behind exclusions.
Leave you financially and emotionally wrecked.
I trusted Fetch to help me care for my dog. They failed completely. Do not insure your pet with Fetch.

I've had Fetch Insurance since June 2025 and filing a claim is a nightmare! Every customer service person I talk to says something different but I submit everything I have for my claim and exactly what I was told to submit. About 2 weeks after I file I get an email saying they need more information and are waiting to hear from my vet. There is nothing more to submit and after calling again and again finally I might get some compensation but I was just told after waiting way over a month two claims are closed because of lack of information. Two of my friends told me they also have Fetch and go through the same but they're going to drop Fetch and go to Spot! I'm going to try one last time to get these claims taken care of and I'm also leaving Fetch. It's very discouraging and way too frustrating and then you don't often get anything they say in the policy. They rip you off basically! My advise is to stay away from Fetch!

Absolute rip-off. We signed up with Fetch this summer for our new Mexican rescue dog. We submitted all requested paperwork and vet records that were sent with him from Mexico, and were quite extensive. Our account was approved and we received authorization to submit claims. In November our dog had his first claim, which was rejected as Fetch said we failed to obtain a vet check up in Canada or the US within 30 days of starting his claim. They continued to take our money each month, knowing that they would not approve any future claims. When I called to cancel, they refused to refund any of my premiums or acknowledge any fault. Zero stars. Scam.

If you're thinking of using Fetch Pet Insurance, don't. I've been with Fetch for nearly two years and recently decided to cancel my policy, which was set to renew on Sunday, 1/11/26. I attempted to cancel on Saturday, 1/10/26, the day before my card was to be charged. But because Fetch doesn't have their phone lines open on weekends, I was forced to use their chat to try to cancel my policy. After being told several times by a chatbot that I needed to call in to cancel my policy, I finally found a way to connect with a human. As expected, the human told me I couldn't cancel my policy via chat and that I needed to call in to do so. I then emailed the support team to attempt to cancel and was told the same thing: I needed to call in to cancel my policy. I was then charged $93.82 the next day.
Annoying, but I figured that because I had created a paper trail of wanting to cancel BEFORE my renewal date that I could just call in on Monday, speak to a human, explain my situation, and get Sunday's charges reversed. I was wrong. After over 20 minutes on the phone with "support," I was told that Fetch was unwilling to reverse my charges and retroactively cancel my policy because their terms of service state that all cancellations must take place over the phone (even though I had attempted several times the day before my renewal date to cancel my policy).
If Fetch is going to force people to cancel over the phone, they need to be available by phone 7 days a week. Yes, I understand that I was bound to the ToS I agreed to when signing on with Fetch, but I figured the company would be willing to work with me since I'd requested cancellation before my renewal date. I was wrong.
Fetch is a predatory company that enacts predatory practices. If you're reading this, know that Fetch's main goal is to extract every single dollar from you that it can. They intentionally make it impossible to cancel policies on weekends, and are unwilling to retroactively cancel policies and refund customers even if they'd submitted a request before their renewal date. My advice after two years with Fetch is simple: Go find another pet insurance company. I'm going with Progressive.

We have insured two of our dogs with Fetch (formerly Pet Plan), one for 11 years (who is now 14) and the other for 5 years (he is now 10 years old.) They have paid most of our claims according to the agreed upon coverage, both large and small claims, including ER visits, imaging/specialists and major surgeries. Our premiums have gone up slightly every year, but increased significantly since the company was acquired by Fetch. This plan year the premium for our 10 year old dog went from about $180 per month to $320 per month! I cancelled the plan, as it is clear that Fetch no longer wants to cover our dog due to his diagnosis of a tumor on his spine. The premium for our 14 year old dog is now over $200 per month.
Fetch is a business like all businesses and need to make a profit. They do not want to cover our pets when they will be making claims for a major or chronic health condition. After they pay one or two large claims, you will see your premium skyrocket. Then YOU will know it's financially wise to cancel and Fetch can say they didn't cancel your pet. When increasing our premiums more than $100/month for each pet this year, they used the excuse of "inflation in pet health care costs." Lies.
After paying into the plan for many years, we did not nearly break even on our 14 year old dog's premiums paid because for the most part she has been healthy. For our 10 year old dog who has had health problems, we have received in paid claims about 85% of what we paid in for 5 years. We could have used a savings account in the same way so I do not find pet insurance to be valuable over time. I recommend doing what was recommended to me a long time ago. Put $1000 in an account for every new pet that comes into your family, then add $50/month from age 1-6, increase to $100/month after age 7. If you don't need the money to pay for vet bills, it's yours to keep! If you do need it, it's yours to pay for your pet's health care as you see fit, not evaluated by an outsider in the business to make money and invested for their profit.

I can't believe this company. Our 8 month old golden retriever puppy is showing signs of elbow and hip dysplasia and needs corrective surgery. Fetch is denying our claims because he's showing signs in the first 6 months of his life, how that is relevant is unknown to me. I understand insurance and know that the surgery will be expensive but that's why we bought their highest level just to be sure we're covered. We're not at all. Nowhere in the contract we signed does it mention this and they are absolutely denying any wrong doing. Meanwhile our little baby suffers because of their greed. Stay far away from them, our poor little Rollo is doomed because of them.

Poor. There is a large deductible, and it is only a deductible for one issue. So, if you have a leg issue at one time, then a week later a heart issue, there is a deductible for each. And it resets each year. So most of the time it is unusable and a waste. We started at $25/mo and now we are at $260 per month (age 11). But over the years almost every item with our pet was routine and/or less than the $350 deductible, so the insurance wouldn't kick in. I would search for a better plan....

I have had no claims yet and have been with them since 2017. The monthly premium started out at $25, but it is now $72.07 per month. I recently had a vet bill over $500, so I thought to look into the policy. The deductible is $1000 and the maximum payout per year is $10000. The issue with Fetch is at renewal. Pet insurance is not regulated like human healthcare. When Fetch renews your policy they will reduce coverage based on your claim history. This is legal. They do this very quietly. Because of pre-existing exclusions, they know you have no options if your pet has been sick. It is classic bait and switch at it's core. You sign up with them and choose your coverage level. However, if you have filed just one claim, you cannot increase your coverage later, EVER. However, they can and will decrease your coverage.
My advice is to avoid Fetch because while you may be okay during the first year, they will make up for it every year thereafter. It is extremely bad business to do this to customers. They will insist we have a choice. After all, we can cancel coverage and/or choose another company for a pet policy. However, this "choice" is meaningless in practice, because other pet insurers have pre-existing condition exclusion, just like they do. If you switch, any conditions your pet has already had will not be covered with a new insurer. For this reason, having the policy with Fetch, becomes the lesser of two evils. That is why how they can get away with this. Those of us with dogs who have pre-existing conditions are stuck with Fetch or can choose to have no coverage at all. They know this and take advantage of it. If I knew what I know now, I would never have chosen Fetch. EVER.

Absolutely the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. To say their customer service is terrible would be a massive understatement. When I expressed dissatisfaction and asked for a survey, I had to contact them four different times. They “sent” it four times—none of which ever worked. An agent even joked that I could tell her my complaints and she’d “pass them along.” Obviously, when you’re unhappy, they make sure you never actually get the survey.
Out of curiosity, I later asked them a question pretending to be a satisfied customer—on the fifth contact—and suddenly the survey magically appeared. This company is shady, manipulative, and dishonest. They flat-out lied, claiming they can’t cancel policies over the phone because of “Colorado law.” That is pure nonsense. Fetch Pet Insurance will waste your time, dodge accountability, and bend the truth to suit themselves. I would never recommend them to anyone. Avoid at all costs.
