I have not ordered from Wayfair and will not because I can see that their prices are NOT FAIR. Looked at a few items and they are way overpriced on all items. Everyone should look elsewhere for what they are shopping for. I do not see how this website is even still on the web. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere because #1 you pay overprice, #2 you can not get a hold of customer service, #3 did I mention OVERPRICED!!!!

Ordered 2 chairs, less than 24 hours later we were informed they were being shipped, but also showed the same exact chairs and colors for $92.00 less. Immediately called. "Sorry we don't price match." "If you want the sale price we will credit you less the return shipping charge which would be less than $40.00." That is a rip off. We have a large upstairs bonus room to furnish.... have been locking at sections and cabinets and accessories, will certainly not look on the Wayfair site or any of the other associated with this company. Our past purchases in the past have been satisfactory but a $92.00 difference is price less than 24 hours should have been adjusted.

It should not take multiple emails across multiple days for a customer to receive an apology when a heavy, oversized delivery is left in the lobby. I had to manually call and escalate to a manager. He was very friendly, but still did not take ownership for the problem. FedEx and UPS have a field that allows the vendor to specify additional instructions, such as bringing the parcel to the second threshold. The 10% refund I received does not even cover the cost of hiring someone to bring the packages up 4 flights of stairs.

I placed my very first Wayfair order on November 28th. First item I received was incorrect item. Offered a replacement from wayfair. Still haven't received item a month later. Second item I received was sheet set. Hair inside packaging, loose threads everywhere and stains on sheets. Offered $5 credit on item. Third item I purchased was a bird activity center. Terribly cheap quality. Not worth selling price at all. I've emailed several times regarding shipping status of items and received no response. I believe they are just middle man on orders. I would not order from them again.

The prices might look appealing, but don’t be fooled. I recently moved and needed to refurbish my entire house, and I thought Wayfair might be a good option to get affordable furniture fast. It’s been the most painful experience since!! I ordered a couch on Dec 9th, shortly after, I saw a price drop of a $100. I asked for a price match, which they did not offer, so I asked to cancel. After a verbal confirmation, I received an email that said they couldn’t cancel my order because it was being shipped. Over two weeks after I placed my order, and I still have no item, no shipping updates, and I’ve been run around in circles by customer service. They refuse to do anything until I receive my item to process a refund in which I’ll have to pay for return shipping when I canceled before the order shipped, what a joke! I will not be spending money on this site again.

When you order items, you are not told that they were on back order until after the fact, The items were ordered 12/1/2020. Was told a few days later they were back orders until 12/15/ 20 then that changed to 1/15/20 and then changed again to 1/19/20. These were Christmas gifts. Yes I could have canceled the items but it was exactly what I wanted, I will use caution when ordering from this company. Very frustrating.

Purchased a jewelry organizer for my wife. Was suppose to arrive within 3-5 days which was fine. On the 5th day it had not arrived, so I went to see why. Item was still sitting in the warehouse where it had been sitting for 5 days with a shipping label on it. When I contacted customer service they told me all the shipping trucks had been full and there was no room on any trucks. FOR 5 DAYS. I then told them I would pay for over night shipping, then was told it had already shipped. I said it's still there right, yes but your saying I can't pay for faster shipping, then we go back to there is no room on the trucks. UNBELIEVABLE. Then they blame it on covid, then blame it in the holiday and then on the shipping trucks. No ownership from anyone in the company, no character and no integrity.
I will not be purchasing anything from them again nor will anyone I know. Still waiting on my wife's jewelry organizer. Then when I go to research their reviews, I learn that their 4.6 star rating is fake. It says 91% positive feed back but when you click on it you learn it 91% negative feedback. Not sure how they get away with that. Save yourself a lot of stress and shop ANYWHERE else.

I purchased a bed & a couch from Wayfair on December 7th and December 12th respectively. The bed was supposed to arrive on the 17th, when the 17th came it was 10 mins before my delivery window ended and there was still no call from them so I called and was told that their delivery truck broke down so they will try to get it out the next day. Then I receive a call 40 mins after my delivery window ended telling me they will delivery it the next week on Monday and I said that was unacceptable but it was Wednesday and they could've added it to their deliveries on Thursday & Friday and they gave me some about logistic limitations, etc. so I bite and accept the next weeks delivery, on Friday they tell my the bed won't be delivered till the next Thursday, 4 days later than I agreed on and I made a note to call them back.
By the end of the day they changed the delivery till the END OF DECEMBER at which point I emailed the supervisor directly and told her I will be canceling my order. The couch was supposed to arrive today, Dec. 24th and I KID YOU NOT, 20 mins before my delivery window ends I call them to see their ETA and they said, you guessed it. Their delivery truck broke down so I will have to wait till January 4th for delivery. NO OTHER DATE next week was available so I have to wait till next year. I am now convinced they are selling product they don't actually have because it's amazing to me that they are the only company with trucks that regularly "break down" on delivery. I AM DONE!

On Nov 26 I ordered a mattress from Wayfair. It was regular price less 5%, $289. As of Dec 21 delivery was to be Dec 24, maybe. On the 21st The Wayfair site listed the exact same mattress for $679, price slashed to $259. Strange math indeed. How legitimate are their prices? Wayfair refuses to price match their own site, even with delivery pending. To price match I will have to return the original order and reorder. This, they assure me, will cost me nothing. But as I said above, how far can they be trusted?

Wanted to purchase counter stools, were told they were out of stock and I went through the process of being put on the alert system because I was told they would be arrive in about the third week of November. Customer service rep. tried to sell me different merchandise. It is now the third week of December I have received no communication from Wayfair. When I called to inquire the customer service rep. said she had no way of checking on the status and recommended me looking at alternate stools. She "googled" the item, but it is not in stock. She could obtain zero status on the availability of the the product and repeated the same thing to me over and over in a condescending tone. It seems common practice for this company to lead you on with out of stock items that never appear and convince you to purchase other items. I am not comfortable with the way they operate and will not be ordering.

I was dealing with this issue and last night after being upset with customer service. I hung upset thinking I was a small priority. I wrote my reviews and an email this time to customer service. I received a call this morning from Debra at Wayfair Customer Service and had my issues completely resolved and apologized for what I went through. It was a something I completely did not expect and made me cry. I felt a huge weight lift off of me. I want to thank you for your quick response to my email and for resolving my issue just like that and resolving it beyond anything I had expected. I am sorry about my upset email and thank you for making me feel mattered. Debra you started my day off on a positive and weight lifting mode. Thank you again.

This was my first time ever ordering from Wayfair and their customer service is horrible. They do not stand behind the error they made in shipping my order. I received a mattress topper that looked like a return and repackaged up however with no label on the item at all. I have shopped online with other companies and I always receive paperwork inside the box or package for my order. Wayfair sent nothing and so I cannot even confirm on my unlabelled item that I got the right product. Customer service just tried to assure it was right. Would you accept a product especially bedding that has no label on it and not a cheap item either? They wanted me to pay to return their error. Not right. They lost a potential customer and I will tell my friends not to order from them. This is very upsetting and so taxing what I have to go through.

I placed an order on December 7th that clearly said the chair was "in stock" and would be delivered by the 16th, six days later shipment was pushed to the 22nd, three days later it was pushed to the 24th. I decided to call customer service to make sure that the 24th would be the date as it was a Christmas gift. When I logged in to the website as the phone is ringing the date has now been pushed to Dec 29th! They stated that the carrier FedEx has not shown up to pick it up so I offered to pay for another carrier and they stated that can't happen either.
Now I get there is a lot going on in the world, but this was ordered in plenty of time for a so called in stock item. So my only option was to cancel the order and lo and behold the supervisor informs me that the car had already put in the order and I never so much as hinted that I would end up canceling the order. And even that will take up to 5 business days! I will never shop with them again and will certainly share my story with those who are thinking of making a larger purchase with them. Just not reliable and poor customer service skills.

I went online to Wayfair to shop for a daybed. I found one that I liked, the Juliana. It was shown on the website in grey and listed several other available colors, though all but the grey and the beige were out of stock. The price listed on the page with the picture of the grey daybed was $359. My wife loved it so I decided to purchase it. When I added it to my cart, it was priced at $464. I called Wayfair to inquire and was told that only the beige (now also out of stock) was the only one that was $359. Nowhere on the web page did it say STARTING at $359 or $359 for beige only, it didn't even picture the beige next to he $359 price. This is the very definition of deceptive. I went back in to print a picture of the web page and voila! Now they are showing it with the beige picture instead of the grey. If you're planning on buying from this company, watch the pricing carefully so you don't get cheated. I, for one, will not be shopping here again.

I placed an order for a bathroom vanity through Wayfair and then realized within minutes the Espresso color was more of a brown when I wanted a black. I called Wayfair to cancel the order. They told me the company would not allow me to cancel the order. This did not make sense to me since it was minutes within placing my order. The women in customer service told me I could return the vanity without paying the return shipping charge if I called Wayfair when I received the email that the vanity shipped or if the company called me to deliver I should tell them I refuse the item.
I called once the item was shipped and they cancelled my order but never said they were charging me the return shipping fee of $98. I called back and the man I spoke with said if the women I spoke with documented that they would waive the shipping he would. He told me she did not document that anywhere and I would still have to pay the return shipping charge and it is not their policy to waive shipping charges. If I had know that I would have at least had the vanity delivered because at this point what would have been the difference if I had to pay to have it returned anyways. I bought some doors previously that I just love but am very disappointed in the experience buying the vanity. There should be something on the website when you place your order indicating you cannot cancel an item once ordered. I now understand it was not the manufacturer but Wayfair policy that would not allow me to cancel.

Wayfair appears to offer a lot of wonderful products, furniture, and accessories, but they aren't in stock! Why offer products that aren't available? The last two orders I have made, the items weren't actually available. I made an order on mid-November, and once I made the order, I wasn't notified via email but saw in the order status that the item was suddenly on "backorder." Then, I found the same item offered at an $90 savings, so, I tried to cancel the item I ordered, but was notified I couldn't because it had shipped...but actually it hadn't shipped.
It's December 3 and Wayfair shows item is pending shipment, and the UPS tracking number I was given says item has never been received by UPS. Wayfair has since pulled down that tracking number. Wayfair's customer service says the item has been loaded on a palette for shipping but no further updates after nearly three weeks. The original estimated delivery date when I placed the order was November 24. After another inquiry, I get a call saying the item "must be lost. The supplier's phone number does not work." I can either wait for the item to come back in stock in January, buy a different and more expensive item, or just cancel it. The same item that was offered by other supplier are no longer available either. Don't buy from Wayfair. They are not reliable and neither are many of their suppliers. It is evident that products that are listed may NOT actually be available. That is a bad business model and untrustworthy customer service.

I appreciate the variety of items that Wayfair sells, and the 0% interest financing helps me to make a bigger furniture purchase, but I really have learned when it's time to make a big purchase, you are better off physically seeing & trying out what you are buying. We recently purchased a dining room set from Wayfair. The online pictures looked beautiful and the set had high user ratings but we received it and are not happy with the quality. If we chose to return it we would be responsible for the charges to send back, which I'm sure would be very expensive, so I'm stuck with a dining room table & six chairs we are not happy with. To me I feel it is better to shop at the store, in person so the quality can be seen.

Once you order an item it instantly goes into "Preparing for Shipment" even though it will not be delivered to your house in days, and may even be on back order. They do this so that the shipment can not be canceled (forcing you to pay shipping fees to send it back and a restocking fee). When they do let you cancel your shipment, or so you think you have, they then send you an email days later telling you that they could not cancel your shipment and your items have now been shipped.
I have ordered quite a few items as we recently moved into a new house and the quality of the items are hit or miss. I ordered 12 pricey dining room chairs that came and all but 3 had flaws in the material. They sent me 4 more chairs, and they too had the same issues. I also got a rug and in less than 2 weeks the rug started to unravel on the end. They sent me a new one and this rug looked like the machine ran out of dye while making it and didn't even come close to the other ones I ordered. After all this...I have come to realize that Wayfair sells cheaply made items, that are extremely overpriced, and when you find better deals, they make it almost impossible to cancel the order so they can make some money off of restocking fees/transportation fees. I placed an order for a kitchen table with chairs, a chair with ottoman and a desk. An hour later I decided that we did not want the furniture and attempted to cancel the order. I spoke to a customer service agent that told me the order was processing so I would have to wait 24 hours and then ask to process a return. The next day I contacted customer service again and was told the return charge would be $125 for the table and chairs.
And to make matters worse I went onto the website to cancel the other 2 items which seemed to be available to me. The desk cancellation went through right away. The chair with ottoman showed pending and today I received an email saying that couldn't be cancelled and I'd need to process another return (for a huge fee I'm sure). I am not in possession of any of these items and I attempted cancellation within an hour of placing the order. I have purchased from Wayfair before but NEVER AGAIN. I've spoken with my credit card company as that seems to be the only recourse with this company -- customer service is unbelievably bad.

The Wayfair customer service personnel are very nice. It does take approximately 15 minutes to get through to them. However, when you do, they are very nice. Unfortunately, there is a huge disconnect between the Customer Service Department, the delivery contractors and the assemblers of the furniture. My desk was delayed and although I paid $75 to have it assembled, the Customer Service Department could not help me notify the assemblers of the delay. They also couldn't contact the movers to find out the reason for the delay since they "weren't in their system." All and all, it was a terrible ordeal.

Due to the pandemic, furniture stores close to my home had issues with sourcing furniture. I decided to try Wayfair to purchase a new dining room table. Wayfair's website told me of the anticipated shipping and delivery time frames. I found a table I liked and purchased it. I checked back on Wayfair's website several times and found that the item didn't ship from the warehouse within the estimated timeframe, so I canceled the order after contacting customer service via email.
After canceling the order, I learned that the item already shipped and Wayfair was reducing my refund by over $100 due to them already shipping the item. If the website or customer service would have let me know the correct updates about the item's whereabouts I would not have cancelled the order. Worth spending more same or more bucks at a competitor site that has customer service. Here is their response to my email for your reference:
Wayfair does not offer price matching because our prices may change to remain competitive. We want to provide the best price to our customers at any given time. Although you are seeing a better price today, I am unable to extend this to your past order. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Do not use the Wayfair reviews to evaluate your purchase. They selectively post the reviews and ensure the overwhelming number of review are positive. Pay special attention to the Wayfair return policy as it is short and non-negotiable. I bought a Greyleigh medium bean bag chair for a birthday present. I purchased it several weeks before the birthday because Wayfair said the product was almost out of stock. Because it sat wrapped for the birthday, the short return deadline (2 weeks) passed.
The chair looked and performed nothing like what was shown in the photograph online. Wayfair has to be intentionally ignoring this blatant problem. They refused to take it back even though it is clearly not what they advertised. Not delivering what you advertise and then offering the most strident return policy in internet commerce should convince you to never do business with Wayfair. I will happily post the invoice if requested.

I called, asked them to honor the original price in my cart. ABSOLUTELY NO. On its way, meanwhile, delivery next week of a vanity for the same bathroom remodel. I said I would simply cancel that order. That would have cost me another $129. They WILL GOUGE YOU. I try to patronize companies other than AMAZON. Omg I am so mad and irritated at this company. The part that disturbs me the most is how nonchalant they were about my order. Me and my kids are moving with nothing. So I search around for something nice and affordable and decided to go through Wayfair financing for a sofa. I made the order long before so I could have at least the sofa once we moved. However the initial ship date I receive nothing not even a update email. So of course I called, but they couldn’t give me no information. Call again, no information. Next few days I called again to be told, it’s still sitting in a warehouse and to call the next day for more accurate details. Ok call again then now I’m told I won’t receive until Dec 19, 2020 almost three months...I’ll been done moved by that time.
Being that I took the finance route am unable to update my information. I have to cancel the order, receive my payment back then send proof of my new address. Now what in the world, just more things added to my list of things to do... They inconvenience me to the max that it hurts... I liked that sofa so much and was excited.. Now I moved next week with absolutely nothing not even this sofa... I understand things happen, however it’s your responsibility to make it better and to deliver outstanding service.
It’s so convenient for you to say, "Oh I’m sorry," and send a 10% off that does not make up for the lack of customer service and no communication that y’all gave me. Me and my kids didn’t deserve that. You clearly don’t understand what people have got going on unfortunately what may seem small to you is a big deal to me and this is by far the worst experience I have ever experience. This is why people are skeptical about dealing with online businesses.

I am giving the company 3 stars but that is solely based on product. With that being said, same products can be ordered through other companies and I would suggest doing so. The most annoying part of the entire process of Wayfair is their payment receiving! I ordered about $1700 worth of furniture and decor for my newly remodeled home. I received a phone call the next day asking me what company I have that I ordered an arm chair, two dining chairs, pillows and bedding for??!!! I said it’s for personal! Are you telling me that they don’t receive everyday people making a less than $2000 purchase that I’m being questioned about why I’m purchasing?
My 2nd and biggest gripe is they take the money, then put it back in your account, then take it again, then put it back. This has happened about 4 times now leaving me wondering what is happening with my bank account because it hasn’t been balanced in 3 weeks. It’s quite a simple process that pretty much every company does...People order, you take money, you deliver and done! Why are you pulling and putting money in and out of my bank account? I had the arm chair delivered over a week ago and you still haven’t taken the money!! I hate this company and will never order from them again. Get your accounting department straight!

I ordered a concrete birdbath from Wayfair. It was a made-to-order item, and took three months to arrive. When I received it, the birdbath was the wrong color. I contacted Wayfair, and they tried to claim that there was no color difference, and that what I was seeing was just due to the vagaries of online photos, computer screens, and human perception. I obtained evidence from the manufacturer of the birdbath, documenting that the item I received was a different paint finish to that listed on the Wayfair website. It was, in short, not what I ordered. At that point, Wayfair cut off contact with me.
I filed a transaction dispute with PayPal, under the terms of their Purchase Protection Guarantee. Wayfair demanded — via PayPal — that I ship the item back to them AT MY EXPENSE, and submit a bill of lading and tracking information as proof. This birdbath weighs 115 pounds. Wayfair refused to arrange the return of the item, well before I filed the dispute. I have no way to box up this heavy thing for return shipping, and shipping for me (full price, since I have no access to the discount rates Wayfair can get) would be at least a couple hundred dollars.
The item price was around $400. So I have been fully screwed over by Wayfair, after years of being a loyal customer. It seems that the company has no clear policy for taking returns. They don’t want returned items, since they are just a kind of “drop-ship” business with no warehouses of their own. Their vendors will not cover the cost of returning purchases. So if you buy it from Wayfair, you are stuck with it (unless it was badly broken in shipping, and you submit photos proving that, in which case you might be lucky enough to get a replacement item), if you are unwilling to fork out more money for return shipping costs. That should be displayed as a banner across every Wayfair listing page: RETURNS ARE ON YOU!

The site showed a listing price that was artificially inflated with a marked discount and the words CLOSEOUT. They also showed a different manufacturer than the true one so that comparison shopping was impossible. The product purchased was outdoor furniture. Once delivered, the boxes showed the name of the true manufacturer. Comparison shopping at that point showed that Lowe's/Home Depot offered the same item for $200 and Amazon offered the item for $400, both with free shipping. When I called to question the practice I was lectured to by the representative and no option to receive a store credit or refund was offered. It could be returned, but I would pay full shipping.
I hung up and called back, was offered a $250 credit, but this was still significantly higher than from Amazon. Upon further review innumerable items are available from other vendors for a approximately 20% less. These include items such as outdoor decking tiles, nesting coffee tables, knife sets, La Crosse technology clocks (almost twice the price). The company clearly has a sleek website, but takes advantage of unsophisticated shoppers. This is a great way to keep customers. Buyer beware.

Buyers Beware! So very disappointed in Wayfair! I paid $3000 with taxes for a patio dining set. My husband had it all unpacked and set up when I got home. It physically looked like the set I ordered except was made from a cheap plastic material; not the rattan material I thought I was getting. I didn't sleep that night stressing about it. I had spent so much and it looked so cheap! After doing some research on Wayfair I found it looks exactly like the "9 piece Sunbrella Dining Set with cushions" for $1459.99.
The set I ordered (the Gretel) is manufactured by Red Barrel and the set I received is manufactured by Direct Wicker. I called Wayfair and spoke to a very helpful Customer Service Rep who confirmed with me that I was sent the wrong set. I had the option of packaging it all up again (which would have been a nightmare) and sending it back or taking a discount. I agreed on the discount but find myself questioning if I received enough of a discount. I am still unhappy with the set and wish I had gone through the hassle of trying to package it all back up. I know for a fact that they substituted with an inferior product and did not notify me.
In my opinion, Wayfair should have been responsible for the packaging to send it back as it was their mistake. When I asked if they would, I was told no that I would have to. So here I am stuck with a set that I'm not happy with and feel that even with the discount I was overcharged. I also ordered 3 wicker barstools, that did not match. 2 are beautiful, one is ugly and smaller than the other two. They told me they would send me a new one but after a few days the order was canceled. They didn’t notify me, I found out when I checked my order status. I am extremely upset because by Wayfair doing that it affects your credit score (debit ratio along with an account being closed) ... if they were going to switch banks then that bank should have taken on all the credit card accounts not ruin people's credit even if it is a couple of points ... I will not use Wayfair anymore.

Approximately one month ago we began the process of ordering furniture to furnish a winter home we purchased 3000 miles away from our main home. Before placing the first order, we called Wayfair to see if we could set specific delivery dates so that we would be able to be there for delivery. The woman we purchased the home from is 84 years old, lives alone. We wanted to be able to get deliveries on the same date or at least the same week so that we could put them in storage. We were told that we could do that. On furniture deliveries, Wayfair would allow us to set the date and all others could be managed through Fed Ex. First, Fed Ex would not hold most of the smaller deliveries (art work). And what they would hold, there was a charge for.
Since we ordered (I’m guessing) around 20 items, this would be quite expensive. At some point there was a problem and we called Wayfair. They corrected it by cancelling the entire order and replacing the order under a different email address (they did not tell me this, they simply ask me for an email address to confirm something). Every time I logged into Wayfair, I could only see the cancelled orders. I was receiving emails stating that things were being delivered. We called Wayfair several times. We have spent hours of our off time on the phone trying to get this all straightened out.
Today they told me I had a balance due. Less than a week ago, my debit card was compromised and I was issued a new card. The tone was that I failed to pay. Perhaps if they had processed the card when they received the order, this would not have happened? The last straw was today when we were finally able to look at the order and saw that the sectional sofa and table with 6 chairs would require someone to unload them from the truck. Again, we live 3000 miles away, an 84 woman we do not know is living at the delivery address until her new home is complete AND Wayfair was told this in the beginning of this nightmare process.
We called today and spoke to first a supervisor and next a “manager”. The manager was so rude. She started off blaming everything on us. Emails addresses on the order they cancelled AND THEY re-entered on different email. Delveries. Etc. We explained that we went over everything prior to ensure exactly what is happening would NOT happen prior to placing the order. After she started blatantly lying, I told her I was pausing to record the rest of the call. She told me I did not have her permission to do that. As a matter of fact , I live in Idaho, and I didn’t even have to tell her if I wanted to record her. But she became more angry and hung up. This was a “Customer Service manager”. I’m literally laughing out loud right now. Don’t use this company. They are dishonest. I am going to cancel the rest of the order.

Yes, Wayfair did reverse charge.
Original Review: Oct. 17, 2020
I ordered an office chair from Wayfair on September 16. On September 23rd, I found a different chair from Wayfair that was a better color and more inexpensive. I canceled the first chair because it had not shipped and ordered the second chair. I received the chair on Sept. 23rd. Three days later, the chair I canceled arrived at my door. I called Wayfair, they apologized for the mistake and had someone pick it up the next day. On Oct. 9th, I noticed a pending charge on my credit card for the canceled chair. I called to get the charge removed. The charge posted on the 11th. I have called numerous times to have the charge reversed. I get apologies and claims of requests from their very busy financial office to have it removed.
I pay off my credit card each month. The payment was due on the 15th. I paid everything except for the chair and filed a merchant dispute. I have asked to speak to a customer service rep at Wayfair that deals with "escalating" situations and was told I would get a callback. This has not happened. I have ordered quite a few items from Wayfair with no issues. I would continue to be a loyal customer if this situation could be remedied. So far, my account at Wayfair does not even have that the chair, wrongly delivered, was returned.

I purchased two things from Wayfair and I have noticed the customer service is extremely inconsistent. For example, I purchased a sectional, which I was extremely dissatisfied with upon arrival, and they issued me a full refund without having to return the couch (the couch was cheap in quality) and the customer service agent was wonderful. I called again to inquire about their return policy, as I was thinking about making another expensive purchase, and the customer service agent sounded like she just woke up and didn't know the return policy at all. I would advise against making any major purchases from this company as things can be hit or miss, the return policy is entirely at the discretion of the representative and you could be stuck with a hefty return shipping fee which could eat up the cost of your refund.

I've downsize twice in the last few years. For the first move I ordered a table from Wayfair and it never arrived. It took several weeks for them to let me know not only could they not find it anywhere but it was no longer available to order. A dent in my beautiful design plans... Flash forward to my last move. A defective daybed cost me more to move and dispose of during a pandemic than the cost of the bed itself. Because of the defect, I was told to dispose of the bed and I would get a full refund. Instead, the issued refund was less than 25% of the full cost. I emailed immediately and customer service said that they would look into it.
Weeks later, after no response, I reversed the payment with my credit card company. Only after I let Wayfair know about this did I hear from them... Three emails requesting pictures of the damage box (the box wasn't damaged.) They asked me to send them photos of the defective part (that their own customer service had told me to dispose of two months earlier.) Eventually, Weeks later, they grudgingly issued a refund. This company has no idea how to do things. Every time I see their product placement on HGTV, I laugh. Maybe they can get the right items to celebrities on TV... Is it OK to cry over a broken chair? After six years of searching for the perfect chair-and-a-half and ottoman, I thought I found exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the set on July 1, 2020, and delivery kept getting delayed. I was patient, because it was a made-to-order chair, and this year we've all been dealing with far worse things than a late delivery. It was finally delivered on September 25, 2020, nearly three months later, and it would have been perfect, except one of the wooden support beams in the back was splintered and broken in half. It was delivered without a box, just wrapped in plastic and tape.
The break occurred on the side where the delivery guys set it down, so I don't know if it was damaged in transit, or was loaded onto the truck broken, but it's unreasonable to have a customer pay $1200 for broken furniture, especially when it was meant to be the focal piece of my living room. I also can't wait another three months to see whether or not a replacement would arrive in one piece. The customer service rep was extremely kind, understanding, and helpful when I called, but I had to request a return/refund after it was in my home for less than 10 minutes. I don't want to sound dramatic, since it's just furniture, but I'm completely devastated.

The expected delivery date sent by Wayfair was the end of June for the 3 piece leather furniture set and June 15th for Sofa, ottoman was the end of June. I received 3 piece leather set a week earlier than expected and ottoman came on time at the end of June.
Here is where the headache began. They changed sofa delivery date to end of June. At the end of June, they changed it again to middle of July. In the middle of July, they changed it to the end of July. When the end of July came, they changed it to the middle of August. In the middle of August I was notified that they shipped it to the wrong location and it would be delivered at the beginning of September. Then, 4 months later from original delivery date notification, the couch was delivered. But this was not even the main problem.
The main problem that I have with Wayfair is that when we ordered the Sofa and matching ottoman in May, we were told in July that the couch may have been lost and we needed to re-order, but original coach color was no longer being made but the same manufacturer makes them it in a color very comparable to the one originally ordered. When we received the couch in September (4 months from original expected delivery date), the sofa did not match the ottoman (the cost of ottoman was $550). Wayfair refused to exchange or take back the ottoman that did not match the sofa because it was past 30 days of when it was purchased.
My wife and I spent over 20 hours either on hold or speaking to Wayfair representatives over the 4 month period. Each representative told us a different reason why our couch had not arrived. We heard it was stuck at a warehouse not being picked up, or, it was lost, or, it was shipped to wrong address. In short, very frustrated with Wayfair and how they handled the whole thing. So right now I have a sofa and a $550 ottoman that do not match and there is nothing Wayfair says they can do. Obviously, last purchase I will make through Wayfair!

(It says depending on size ordered and I ordered the same size as the previous rug!) Bad business ethics! When one buys a rug from a reputable company they should be able to look at the pattern, pick the color and size and then move on. The tables were cancelled. In all my purchase, the only thing I received was the Chandelier.
Despite been frustrated, I was willing to get my money back and make a new purchase but that never happened. Way fair did return the balance that I used from their wayfair card with Community bank. What I expected from my remaining balance was the amount subtracting the balance for the Chandelier. Instead of sending this balance into my debit card, Wayfair finance departed made 11 transactions into my wayfair credit card account with community bank.
I have been back and forth with Wayfair and community bank regarding this issue. I have had 3 way telephone conversations to no avail. I have spoke to 3 different wayfair managers who all gave me hopes but did nothing. I have tried to reach the last manager I spoke to to no avail. Since I made that request on 9/6/2020, she has not responded to me. The last email I sent to her was on 9/11/2020 and still waiting for her response. It has been 2 months and counting.
From my understanding, when you make a purchase with your card and cancel that purchase, the money is supposed to go to that card. I have been trying to get my money to no avail and have decided to go public with my experience. Right now I have contacted my bank and in the process of getting a Lawyer. I have never had an experience like this and hope never to have one again. I will never refer anybody to wayfair again.

Ordered outdoor patio set made out of rattan. It replaced a set that lasted over 15 years. Produce was made by JECO. It began to unravel in about a year. Became unsafe to sit in in less than a year and a half. Found out it was made in CHINA. BOTH WAYFAIR AND JECO would not do anything since it was over a year. They took our $716.00 and that's it. If this was an airplane manufacturer the whole fleet would be grounded. All they seem to care about is for the item to last at least a year. Would not recommend purchases from companies that have low consumer concern. The life expectancy may not have been 15 years but certainly more than a year and a half.

I placed an order on 9-2-2020 and on the product page I was informed that delivery would be between 9-11-2020 and 9-16-2020. I then called support and learned that the order would not be delivered until the middle of October at the earliest. But it gets worse. When I called support, I spoke to a woman who told me she was in Oregon. The time of the call was 2:22 PM PST. I expressed my concern over the misinformation I had received and she said that she would try and help. But, then proceeded to tell me that "everybody's got problems right now." and that her city was surrounded by fire. She then told me that, in order for her to help me, I had to stop talking to her in the manner that I was speaking. I was taken aback, as I was not using vulgar language, I simply was not happy because of the situation. I then asked her name so that I could report her to management, but she refused to give it to me and then hung up on me.

Updated on 09/18/2020: I am updating my previous review on a recliner I got which was advertised incorrectly and I had to return because it was not as stated or what I wanted. After reading other reviews I was very concerned about getting my credit back. They had sent a return label and I was told as soon as the label was scanned I would receive my credit. I carefully re-boxed the chair in the original box with original materials as they require. The box was scanned at a UPS center and I did get my credit applied the same day so I am changing my 1 star up to 2 stars only because of that.
I am still very unhappy I had to pay for shipping a wrong item back and their weak offer of so little if I kept the chair anyway. That chair is also still on their website listed as a full power recline chair just as it was when I ordered it. It is actually manual recline. They don't seem to care and wrestling a 91 pound chair back into the original box was not fun. Just a heads up-Don't destroy your original boxes until you know for sure the item is what you want. Be prepared to pay return shipping even if it is their error and don't expect much from their customer service.
Original review: I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering from Wayfair. I ordered a specific recliner with massage, heat and power back and foot lift. I was happy to find one with these options at a decent price. Most chairs with power back and footrest are also lift chairs which I did not want. I did not have a problem with the order or delivery, In fact, I got the chair 2 days ahead of the date indicated. The chair was listed at regular retail of $629.99 and on sale for $465.00.
I unboxed the chair carefully so as to not damage the box just in case and put the chair together. The chair looked like what I ordered except there was a manual recline pull on the side. The remote control was for the heat and massage only. I did still like the chair but not for that price. I could find the same chair, same brand with the heat and massage features on Amazon for $299.99. I emailed customer service stating I would consider keeping the chair is they would discount it because it was not as advertised on the website and even the chair manual says it is manual recline. I sent them a picture of the chair side and manual page.
The person that replied had said they tried to call me but was unable to reach me. My phone never rang and I had no missed calls. Don't see the reason for the lie. I was informed in the reply email they would give a 15% discount which was only around $77.00 or a $99.00 refund if I accepted a Wayfair credit. I told her the chair was way overpriced since it did not even have the power recline as I thought that was why it was listed higher. Even their own site has massage/heat manual recliners for much less. They would not budge any more on the offer so I told them I would return it and they should change their description so others are not misled. This listing is still on their site after several days and now listed on sale at $489.99. It still lists that it reclines by power.
They issued a return label right away but are deducting the return amount of $112.00 from my refund. Now myself and my husband with a bad back have to get this 91 pound chair into our truck and take it to a neighboring town to ship it back. I am not happy I have to pay a shipping fee for their incorrect information. It has been raining here for 4 days so hope I can get this sent back today or tomorrow. They claim they will issue a refund minus the ship fees to the account I used as soon as the label is scanned. After reading other reviews, I am very apprehensive about this happening that fast. I am also hoping the box arrives to them intact so they can't come up with any other excuse to charge me. Keeping my fingers crossed and will not order from them again. I will go to an actual furniture store so I can see for sure what I am buying. This was an expensive and inconvenient lesson.

Wayfair seems to be crumbling before our eyes. Many of the reviews here- especially in August 2020 seem to resemble mine: purchased items show as "in- stock" when they are in fact "out of stock" Seems as though Wayfair made a conscious decision during the pandemic to continue selling out of stock items with the hope they return and to keep cash flowing. This business model is OK for accounting and absolutely terrible for customer retention.
Ordered $1400 bookcase Aug. 11th by phone (product had zero reviews so checking on availability). Rep said definitely in stock and will be shipped Aug 20th. Received 2 product arriving "later than expected" emails since with ship date currently pushed back to mid Oct. This same bookshelf is still available for sale, so the next customer will be the next victim. Any other retailer's website would list zero-quantity items appropriately and not attempt to sell more. Don't say I didn't warn you if you still decide to shop with Wayfair.

In March of 2020, I ordered a buffet cabinet (220cm x 180cm) online from Wayfair. Before ordering, I called Wayfair regarding the delivery. I was assured that the buffet cabinet would be delivered in two parts to the room of my choice (2nd floor) due to its size. After several postponements, the product was supposed to be be delivered on 24.08.20 with a moving company. When the moving company arrived, I was informed that the product could not be brought into the apartment because it was packed in one large cardboard box (220cm x 180cm). The moving company left with the buffet cupboard. Since then, I have been trying in vain to organize the delivery, as the production company has confirmed that the large box contains two individual parts (139cm x 180cm, 110x180cm). This also makes sense, because no door according to German standard has a size of 220cm x 180cm and therefore the company would not be able to sell their product.
After more than 10 calls (and almost 2 weeks later) neither the escalation team nor a manager ever returned any of my calls. Instead, I received an email from a Delivery Solution Specialist: "We are sincerely sorry for any problems that may have arisen and apologize very much for any inconvenience. We understand that you want to receive the delivery and are happy to do so within the health and safety regulations of our delivery partner. They have already confirmed that it is too tight for the delivery. Perhaps you would be able to ask a friendly neighbor to help you carry the cabinet up. We could grant you a goodwill discount of 100 Euro for the circumstances. Otherwise, all that remains is for us to return the goods and receive a full refund.”
It is an insult that I am told that the moving company refuses to deliver this product and I am asked in the same breath to carry this buffet cabinet with a neighbor. Yesterday I saw in my online account that the product has now been returned without consulting me first. Wayfair was very quick to debit the amount in March and now after more than 5 months I am back to square one. The whole behavior of this company is unprofessional and as a customer just frustrating. I have previously bought numerous products from Wayfair, but after this experience I can only advise against ordering from this company!

Wayfair way of servicing people with out of stock items could hardly improve. I had been trying to place an order for months. I do everything they told me to do. I get the notification over email, within an hour the item is out of stock. I tried later and there are 7-8 items, thinking the email is ahead of the website. By this time the website locks me because it needs an override in using my Wayfair card and paid the rest with my other credit card. I call the next day, because Wayfair is close for phone assistant.
The next day item is gone, still on my cart but again I can’t finish the transaction. Meanwhile, the person who lock my price weeks ago who says he was going to call me back, and who I placed the prior order never called. The Customer ends on spending hours upon hours seeking an item (the same item goes by four different names and prices on the website). Why promise all this courtesy calls or special department if the service e is not delivery. Very frustrating. My suggestion is that they need to take orders ahead, for those stuck in this nightmare. Going on two months now, with the timing that Community is canceling the card for everyone on September 10. I will love someone to call me or that I can call and I can lock down my order! Not just lock down a price! Who wants to spend 40 hours buying an addition to a previous purchase. Bad Customer buying program!

Both were ordered with plenty of time to be shipped—even allowing a two week cushion because of Covid shipping delays. I was informed the week before her move in day that the desk would not be shipped until October 23rd. Her move in day was September 4th. Because she needed a desk for school, we canceled that order and quickly had to scramble to try to find another desk for her.
Then on September 6th, I called for the 2nd time to inquire about her bed. I told the representative that I had ordered the bed on August 3rd and received an email that it was shipped on August 31st (later than it was supposed to have shipped). I was then told on September 6th, after I had to call, that there was a problem with shipment and that it may have not even left the share house yet!! So now my daughter has no bed or desk. And to top it off, the woman I spoke with hung up on me when I complained to her about the poor service. This is a horrible store. Save yourself a great deal of heartache by never using this on-line store. I regret I ever even looked at their website. So I looked online for some patio furniture and found something that I liked on the Wayfair website. I never used them before, so I created an account and placed an order 3 weeks ago. I was supposed to get my things last Saturday and of course nothing was delivered. When I called Wayfair's customer service they stated that the driver tried to call me regarding a damaged box and did not make the delivery because he could not reach me. Meanwhile I never got a call or voicemail on my phone.
So I rescheduled for today 9/4/20 and was basically waiting all day while I did stuff around the house. I just called Wayfair again and after a more thorough search of the system the rep told me that my order was lost. Needless to say when he asked if I wanted another order I said no and requested a refund. My guess is that their drivers are stealing shipments or the stuff is being stolen at the warehouse. I will never use them again. I will never recommend them to anyone.

I purchased 2 chairs from Wayfair less than a year ago. After 2 or 3 months the cushions were flat and I called Wayfair who replaced the chairs after a long wait time. This was generous of them; however, I did not see how this would solve the problem. Shortly after the cushions on the new chairs were in terrible shape. Also, the back leg of a chair almost snapped off when a friend sat on it. I again contacted Wayfair and was told I would get a refund for one chair - which was fine. I got a few months out of the chairs so I accepted this. I was told I would have a refund in "3 - 5 days". That was 3 months ago!
I have contacted them three times and each time I was told refund was on the way. Today I e-mailed them again and was told I had to contact the finance company that handles Wayfair financing. I am really fed up at this point and going to contact the corporate office. I would never buy from Wayfair again and would not recommend any of their products. Should be no issues since I paid an extra fee for "no hassle return". Instead, they ordered a replacement chair. I immediately responded and was told "No problem" and that reorder was cancelled and as soon as the second chair arrived I would receive a pick up notice. Second chair arrives the next day so I called and I'm told it can't be returned until my "replacement order" arrive and they aren't able to cancel it. They did pick up first chair.
I got an email saying my replacement order (which I never made) was delayed and would ship in a week or two. Also kept getting emails to "take a photo of damaged chair"...It wasn't damaged. So I called back and again was told that the unshipped order could not be cancelled. What??? Finally had my CC company dispute charges....still have an unopened chair and maybe one on the way. Tried email. No answer to emails. Then after a week past the third delayed date. Had to wait 45 Minutes before a answer to the first phone call. I got person who said that they could not get response from shipper. I asked for a supervisor and was told that one would call back. A week later no phone call and scheduled date still on website that was missed weeks ago.
Finally got back on phone to call after only automated responses to numerous emails and braved the 1 hour 15 minute wait for someone in customer service. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor. After another 25 minute wait the supervisor told me that the shipment had been separated...There were three boxes and one she thought might be in California and the rest in Connecticut. I also received phone numbers for the supervisor and contact information....They led to a voice mail which said that I would receive a call back and it has been months with no call back....I left many messages. The shed finally arrived....DAMAGED.... I called....emailed ....sent pictures. The only response by email was that they offered a discount.
I wanted new parts replacement for the damage. Again I tried contacting them and asked for a call so I could get what was needed to fix the shed. I got emails back stating that they would call the next day and no call came. My wife finally convinced me that the time and effort was wasted and that their only goal was to wear me down to the point that I would accept the offer. I had no option short of contacting my credit card company or the state consumer protection but with the wearing down and hours wasted....obviously their plan...I accepted the money. Now I have a shed that with the damaged door we have to take a mallet to close it and the roof is warped. Nowhere was the name Stearns and Foster mentioned or that the pad was a waterproof pad. Most bedding products are sent in heavy zipped up plastic bags and identified with a company name. I will be very hesitant to order from Wayfair again. Don't list the product as made by Stearns and Foster unless it can be identified as a Stearns and Foster product. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

They sell inventory they don’t have but don’t tell you until after your purchase when you get an immediate ‘backordered’ notice. Then if you try to cancel, they ignore the cancellation and ship anyway so they can stick you with return charges in hopes you won’t return your order. Unethical company. Will never go near them again.

I was just checking online and I see that the same sofa is now on sale for $429 -- I haven't even received it yet and it's on sale for $230 less. I called to see if they would give me the sale price and I received a HARD NO - "That is our strict policy" is what I was told. I am very disappointed. I'm inclined to return the sofa and purchase the same one at the lower price -even with shipping, I would end up saving money - and still have a bad taste in my mouth.

Aug 5 Wednesday @ 7:20PM cancelled desk, 50 minutes later. Aug 7 Friday @ 8:21AM I get an email the desk can't be cancelled. How is it that an entire day could pass where the order couldn't be stopped? I'm sure the "order" email was received within seconds to whom ever was to prep the order, why does the cancel email take 1 day and a 1/2? Also, in the email I received back there is no mention about charging me for returning the item. Perhaps if I had known I would have kept the desk, but instead I took her option and refused delivery.
I am sorry that the desk is not going to work out for you. Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel your order because it has already shipped from our warehouse. You can track the status of your shipment with the FedEx tracking number: ***********. As of now, your order is estimated to be delivered by 8/17/2020. I have arranged a prepaid label return for you. You will receive an email shortly that includes the label and full return instructions. If you are home and able, when the delivery arrives, you may refuse it , so we can go ahead and process a return for you. You can check the status of your return and refund through your My Account. Because this is the second time I have purchased an item from Wayfair that has caused upset and confusion on its delivery I am writing this review. First I bought a cantilever umbrella and weights. I went reviewed a number of umbrellas online with my stepdaughter and decided on the Wayfair cantilever umbrella because the weight came with it. Not only was the weight missing when the umbrella arrived, the website write-up and all documentation associated with it changed forcing us to go through the internet to find the weight that fit that umbrella at inflated prices.
Now I've ordered a Le Creuset canister set which originally described 8 pieces in the set at a sale price. When the order arrived it was 1 piece and now the website states that only 1 piece is in the order, at the ridiculous price I paid thinking I was getting an 8 piece set. I suspect they don't catch mistakes on their website until the order comes in and then they have someone scrub the website. I was very sorry I hadn't taken screen shots of my orders so I can verify their changes. I have never ever had such problems with another online market. Ultimately I end up feeling manipulated and ripped off.

We have had 3 or 4 Wayfair purchases, only 1 was trouble free. Both a bookcase and a storage container came damaged in the box. The bookcase had broken wooden pieces (about 2 inches thick), the container was opened at both ends and pieces missing. The worst part of the experience was calling Wayfair. Online literally for hours, promised delivery dates came and went, finally they shipped a new bookcase 6 weeks later, and we threw the other away. The container is ongoing, no one responds, no one gets back to you; their favorite ploy is saying "may I put you on hold" and never coming back. They sent us a label and told us Fedex would pick up the box between 8am-8pm (at OUR $40 expense, even though they delivered it damaged); Fedex never came and Wayfair said, "Oh well, handle it yourself." I ordered two identical mattresses (worth almost $400) over the phone toward the end of July with one of Wayfair's Customer Service Representatives. I was promised to receive these mattresses by July 28. Upon receiving a confirmation email, it became apparent that Wayfair's representative wrote down my address wrong. I called again to correct this, and I was falsely assured that the mistake was corrected. I called back every day since the beginning of August, and it wasn't until August 8 that the address was actually corrected on behalf of Wayfair and sent to UPS - DESPITE THE FACT that every representative I spoke to each day ASSURED ME that the mattress was on its way. Every time I called, the representatives told me that the mattress would be delivered on the following business day...it's been two weeks now, and I no longer trust this company.
They have done nothing to reasonably address this MAJOR INCONVENIENCE or correct the situation (aside from begrudgingly giving me a strange 23% discount and INSISTING that there is nothing more that they could do for me). The manager, who goes by "Bobby," is INCREDIBLY rude and abrasive and tried saying that this was the shipper's mistake, even though ALL the representatives prior to her acknowledged that it was in fact their mistake for writing my delivery address incorrectly.
To add insult to injury, I asked if it would be possible/easier to cancel this order (since it has become SO COMPLICATED) and start a new order for the same product. One of the supervisors, Paul, told me that they would charge ME a fee if they were to do this - DESPITE THE FACT that their representatives had offered this idea during one of my earlier phone calls. So, in short, they would be charging ME a cancellation/rerouting fee for THEIR REPRESENTATIVE'S mistake. This was my first time ordering from Wayfair, and it will be my last. It is August 10, and I still do not have 1/2 of my mattresses (first one came 8 days later than it was supposed to -- again, these two mattresses were placed in the SAME ORDER with the SAME ADDRESS). Asked them to them reinstate the part of order cancelled and c/s rep said she would. Ok so back to original order status.
2 hrs later email comes in and said Cancelled the portion that was reinstated. Another hour wait on phone. New c/s supervisor states, "NO - you would have to start over with new order to replace the one cancelled and delivery date starts over - another 3-4 weeks for deliver." Cannot reinstate order. Many emails and online messages using Wayfair order. Replies back they would try to fix it and cancel remaining order again and their vendor would be in touch, since the delivery was showing backorder situation again. Advise I will stop payment if they ship, so Next date get a email that a FED ex label was created showing shipping and delivery moved up a week! Tracking Fedex number showing delivery but order is still in pending mode and not shipped - just a way to prevent you from disputing delivery or trying to cancel.
Numerous messages to Wayfair to just tell me What is really going on - no replies. Basically, whatever Wayfair advises they are going to do ends up being the complete opposite of what their actions are. They lie and make little effort to try to resolve customer issues. I will NOT buy again from Wayfair. If your purchase is a “stock” delivery showing day or so, it appears ok; but if it is a delivery promise date beyond couple days - DO NOT purchase - there is no way to really cancel the order as they say it is in their vendor’s control of order - and they just issue their Shipping Labels to show shipped - but has not. Very disappointed in Wayfair. Use caution.

I ordered a mini split air conditioner, also known as a heat pump from Wayfair on 7/6/2020. The item was marked "in stock" and would ship between 7/23 and 7/29. Slow by any measure for something currently available. But they had the Covid disclaimer right on the home page. Fair enough. I first contacted them on July 20 when I noticed on the website that the item was out of stock, requesting a clearer shipping date. The rep. that answered my email stated that she would check with the warehouse to get an answer for me. Never happened, but July 23rd, I received an email stating my item had shipped and the delivery would be after Aug. 10th, whatever that means.
I again contacted Wayfair on July 24th asking why it would take 3 weeks to ship an item from Florida to New York. In a reply, it was explained that the “delivery partner” (again no specifics) would receive the shipment on or before Aug. 9th, two days from now, process the information then call me to schedule delivery. Again, I took the reps. word as being honest and truthful. At this point the aggravation started to set in, especially since they had charged my credit card $755.99 for an item that supposedly was shipped on the 23rd and billed the next day. I also received a BOGUS tracking number, that Google can not find a single trace of.
On Aug. 5, I again emailed Wayfair for “some additional, more significant information on this order that was placed on July 6, 2020”. Again, I was told there was no information on tracking immediately available and that I could expect to hear from them by email. I could also check on my order via your web site, which I have been doing daily. Soooo, now the expected delivery date is Thursday, Aug. 20th on the site. So it was supposedly shipped on July 23rd, and will take almost a month to reach me on the same coast (Florida to New York)? The site also says “Out of stock”, back in stock Aug. 20th. Coincidence? BTW, the price was better than most online, which is why I got suckered in. Buyer beware! Take your business elsewhere.

After 48 hours I called again & another rep. told me there is only 1 box and to open it. So we did and we put 1/2 of our couch together. After over 4 hours wasted on terrible, uninformed customer service they let me know the 2nd box never left the warehouse. How is that possible? I bought 1 couch, not 1/2 a couch.
Eventually, I went online to claiming missing parts to the couch which would mean I would have to wait 3 weeks on back order. I was exhausted and utterly disgusted with the lack of knowledge and customer service also the long wait times and no emails so that you can continue with the same representative who knows and understands your situation. When the order was placed I was told the item was in stock and would be delivered within 10 days. Subsequently the item was said to be on 'Back Order'. During this time I made several attempts to contact Wayfair but was unsuccessful due to long wait times via telephone contact. Apparently Wayfair sent an email that I did not receive dated May 3rd stating that the order was delayed and that estimated delivery was August 6th.
Today is August 6th, 4:10 PM and still no indication that it will be arriving today or not. I called Wayfair on August 3rd to verify the order and to see if it had been or would be shipped in time for arrival on August 6th. Still I received no definitive answer. I just hung up with a Tabatha, a customer service agent who told me that just today it was determined that the item was unavailable to be shipped and that I would be receiving an email later this evening or tomorrow.
She went on to say that the company (supplier) closed down just after my order was made and they reopened in July. She continued that this was all due to COVID. What I don't understand is the lack of communication regarding my order and I wondered how they were not aware yesterday or the day before that there would be another delay. It remains to be seen if I receive an email update or my product by August 13th which is the date that is now showing online. When I asked if they would consider offering a consideration of some sort regarding their lack of customer communication Tabatha continued blaming the COVID crisis. Wayfair seems to be taking no responsibility here.
Certainly one can understand the position we are in regarding shipments and products. What is hard to understand is the lack of updates and communication of an order that stated it would have an 'estimated' delivery of a date and then not follow up with a communication regarding their not meeting the deadline except on the date or day after it was estimated to be delivered. COVID or not, this is certainly a poor business practice. The consideration that I had asked for had no number attached but certainly some incentive for my patience would have been appreciated by their acknowledgement especially since each month since placing my order they had no problem with continuing to place a hold on funds on my credit card knowing that they could not deliver until the supplier reopened which in this case was July and now it is August. How is that right?
