What is Purchasing Power?

Purchasing Power is a financing program that lets employees of participating companies make purchases without credit checks, late fees or interest charges. The company offers products from several top brands in home entertainment, appliances, fashion and more. Employees get their items upfront then make fixed payments for six to 12 months.

How does Purchasing Power work?

Companies pay Purchasing Power to get employee access to its interest-free program for appliance, technology, clothing, furniture and automotive purchases. An employee must have an account through an employer to view available discounts, products and pricing. You can sign up online to get started — once you make your first purchase, Purchasing Power deducts installments from your paycheck for six to 12 months to cover the cost.

Purchasing Power prices

Purchasing Power isn’t a discount program, so its products may be more expensive than you’ll find with other retailers. It does offer some discounts, typically for first-time purchasers, and it has occasional sales and promotions. Purchasing Power payments are fixed and regularly deducted from employees’ paychecks, including sales tax. Purchasing Power doesn’t perform credit checks or charge late fees.

Purchasing Power FAQ

Why is Purchasing Power expensive?
Purchasing Power isn’t a discount program, so its prices are typically similar to or higher than what competitors offer. However, it doesn’t charge for financing or interest, and there are no late fees.
Who owns Purchasing Power?
Purchasing Power is owned by Flexpoint Ford, LLC.
Where is Purchasing Power available?
Purchasing Power is available nationwide. However, only employees of participating businesses qualify for purchases.
Can you pay off Purchasing Power early?

Still have questions?

Is Purchasing Power legit?

Purchasing Power is a legit company. The business is probably worth using if you’re an employee who wants to finance purchases without the charges that come with major credit cards, but this service is available only to staff of participating employers. Purchasing Power doesn’t perform credit checks or charge interest, and it deducts installments from your paycheck to cover purchases, making it a convenient payment option for buyers.

I was approved for 5200 and I have placed my order 6 different times, just to have Purchasing Power to cancel my orders and without any reason for doing so. I sent in all my documents and approved my allotment, and I have called several times and I didn't get a response as to why my orders are getting canceled. So it would have been nice to have actually used this service but, nope. They also raised my Purchasing amount of 3200 to 5200 after I submitted my paystub, so I can forget about using this company due to its unreasonable approval process.

I have placed the same order with them twice. Both times it got canceled. 1st because documentation not received quick enough. 2nd because of employees after I worked hours on trying to get the Allotment documentation which I never got. Maneuvering the website is a nightmare. Maybe you should do some much needed changed to the site to make it user friendly. The item I was purchasing was for medical reason and was very excited when I found this site and the item needed.. Now I'm very frustrated with the outcome. Was hoping to do business.

Total SCAM. Tries to order 2 E-bikes on clearance and was able to apply the first time user promo code for 25% off. Only 1 showed up. Immediately called Customer Service and was told to wait 3-5 business days. Had to call them back and was told after a "thorough" investigation, they have denied my claim. Even though they tried to send (2) different boxes with the same tracking number and the total shipping weight was clearly just 1 bike. After a month of going back and forth with them, they claim they gave me a refund but the full amount still shows on the account...and I am still being charged for it. AVOID THESE IDIOTS AT ALL COSTS!!!

I filed a BBB complaint and the same person that was supposed to be helping me from the beginning is the same one who handles the BBB complaints. Go figure. So guess if my issue was resolved? NOPE. They put me through hell with identity verification then asked for check stubs. I turned them in and now they are saying and accusing me of altering the stubs! And the stubs came from my employer, password protected! Lol! Crazy!

Terrible customer service. They are not trying to acknowledge a travel credit I was given during a Hurricane last year. Now they claim my account is past due when they are taking payments from my bank account and my paycheck. So because of this, I am locked out of my account, cannot use the travel credit, and they are taking money 2 different ways but have me locked out of the system. Customer service is no help. They tell me they didn't receive payments coming directly out of my paycheck for 87.45. Told me their system doesn't update for 60-90 days.

My employer said this is a lie and sent me a ledger of the payments they sent them directly. I escalated the situation to the Supervisor's Boss because the Supervisor had the same silly answer. So basically, I've been charged for a trip I couldn't take. Forced into a credit that is about to expire. Yet they getting paid for said credit and my account balance should be $14. The fact they saying I owe they $121 because of their system update makes no sense. Stay away, avoid them if you can. Everything is overpriced anyway. And if you have an issue at work with pay, they will come into your account every week and take payments.

Do not use! Scam Alert! Purchasing power is a scam. They will continue to take money out of your paycheck. Even when your balance is 0 & the is debt fully paid. Purchasing power has been taking $38.77 out of paycheck every two weeks since Janet of 2026. The debt was paid off in December of 2025. Now they owe me money! Every time I call to rectify this situation. The agent acts like this is the first time I’ve called. Stating that a refund will be issued in 5-10 business days. Well they have been saying this since January 2026. Also I keep asking them when will you stop withdrawing the money from my paycheck check. They say the next pay cycle we will not deduct. And lo & behold they take the money again religiously. This company is full of scammers. They will say the same script just to get you off the phone.

I will never use them again. We booked two hotel rooms in Orlando and the hotel lied about being close to the airport. It was 5 miles away and they had photoshopped every single picture of that place. It has gaps so big under the doors that you could see light. It was in a terrible neighborhood and they required $50 cash per room deposits. No breakfast as promised and the name of the hotel was Oyo but it said Econolodge on the side of the building. Our Uber driver was afraid to stop and leave us.

We had to walk around the back side of the building in the dark with our teenage daughters with all of our luggage. The tv did not work in one room and the bedspreads were so thin we froze all night. We also had to sleep apart in a room with each of our daughters because it was not safe to let them stay in a room alone. We were upset, and the rooms were $140 each before taxes. Purchasing Power did not care that they represent places like that. I booked it off the list of hotels that they provide. Never again!

In the last couple of years, they have been horrible. For almost 2 years, I haven't been able to log in to the website because they use some unknown credit verification to confirm your identity. I get a different name each time. Customer service is ineffective. Beware, they won't help anything outside of basics.

I do not recommend anyone ordering from Purchasing Power. Their items are overpriced and cheap. I bought a reclining chair and the recliner apart broke after three months and they refused to replace it. I contacted them several times and they will not do anything about it, but they still keep taking money out of my paycheck. They’re way overcharging for this cheap furniture. The chair was 600 and they’re charging me 900 which is ridiculous. I had to report them to the Better Business Bureau and I still have a dispute going on with them about replacing my broken chair. In the meantime they’re still taking money out of my paycheck. They had the nerve to tell me they would give me a small discount on my payment and have me fix the chair myself and pay for it. This is ridiculous. Don’t order from them. You will regret it.

I made a purchase and had nothing but issues. The carrier company that they chose claimed that they came to attempt a delivery when that is not true. The second part of my order was marked as shipped for 4 days and never updated any tracking information. On 3 separate occasions I reached out to “Customer Service” and they were no help. It is obvious that they are some kind of 3rd party service that has nothing to do with the actual company I did business with.

This is by far the worst company I have ever come across in my life. Customer Support (Service), is simply pointless. I placed an order my money was taken out of my account and at the same time my order was cancelled with no information on the reason why? I would not recommend this company to anyone save yourself the headache. I forgot to mention after they stole my money, I had to wait 3-5 days to receive a refund of which I’m still waiting on. If I could I would give this company zero stars. Order at your own risk

I have Purchasing Power through my job. I recently changed my cell phone number which it’s always been in my spouse name so now they are saying that my personal cell has to be in my name and they can’t verify my account so I can’t make any purchases. The previous cell phone number I had before I changed it was under my spouse name and they was allowing me to make purchases. When I call customer service they ask for the last 4 of my social security and it says thank you for verifying your identity. So I’m not understanding why a cell home number will stop me from ordering. Then you can’t speak to a manager! I even went to my HR manager and they don’t understand why?

I ordered 2 sofas and an armchair. UPS left it outside, when instructed to place them under my front covered porch. Well boxes are soaked from the rain with damage. I contacted customer service, and they stated I need to bring to the nearest UPS store for a return. Unfortunately, the boxes are very heavy, cannot lift and will not fit in my hatchback even if I tried. Well, apparently that is there only option in order to either credit me or provide me with a full refund. I offered to provide photos but nope... Not an option. Worst company ever. I ordered Christmas gifts early so I can be done with gifts and this is what I have to deal with. Not happy at all and will never order from them again.
