I would like to sue them. I see I am not the only one. Please advise. Looks like a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WOULD BE IN ORDER.

MYLIFE NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN NOW!!! They truly are destroying peoples lives! I called FIVE different times to try and get the personal information they have on me removed from the internet. I waited anywhere from 36-53 minutes on five different calls!!! Each time they hung up on me right when I was first in line to speak with an agent. This is SO INFURIATING!!! I THINK THEIR CALL WAITING ESTIMATIONS ARE TOTAL B.S. AND FAKE! They try and give you false hope of speaking to someone. I absolutely hate the fact that they have my name and age plastered all over the internet. I hate it!!! Hate it! They have no idea how much I try to keep this info private...and then these IDIOTS at mylife.com post it for everyone to see! They need to be STOPPED!!! I'm going to look into filing a lawsuit. People need to start a petition to STOP MYLIFE.COM from doing this.

I stumbled across the mylife.com website & looked up myself. WOW! Talk about a bunch of inaccuracies about me!! I have a “poor” score and it went on to any I have criminal records, bankruptcies, etc, etc. Truth is I’ve only had ONE traffic ticket in my entire driving career (25+years) & that was about 12 years ago of which it was a civil infraction, NOT a CRIMINAL ticket. I could go on & on about all the untruths of this website but that was just one example. Don't rely on these scammers for any information on someone & certainly don't pay $ for a "detailed report". This site needs to be shut down!! They are potentially affecting people’s lives with their BS if a potential employer, etc, etc actually believes the information they’re spewing out! Ruining a person’s reputation! Total defamation of character!

I was just informed by my boyfriend of two years, that MyLife.com sent him an unsolicited email regarding a bankruptcy that my ex husband and I filed TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO!! I asked him to forward it to me. I wasn't trying to hide this from my boyfriend, in fact I'd discussed it with him before, when I was buying a car about two years ago. Also, they got my age wrong by a year. The email sent to him was in Red font with exclamation points, with the subject line of..."we found negative information about..."
All this will do is cause problems in relationships and marriages. I'm pretty sure that there is no "negative" information about me floating around, since I lead a pretty boring life, and have for the past 30 years. So proceed with caution when using this site when looking people up. It sounds like they will over dramatize very mundane and boring details of people's life, like a tabloid magazine. It also instructed him to "start a membership" before he could see the "dirt" on me...lol.

I called their 1-888 number and was NEVER able to speak to someone. I wanted to ask general questions about their product, but every time I called, I waited for a good 10 mins with a countdown of my place in line and the amount of wait time. Lo and behold, each time my turn came up and I was next in line, and after the "Wait time will be 1 minute", it hung up. This happened 3 times. At first I was very frustrated, but then later was grateful that this prevented me from purchasing the product. It was extremely hard to ask just a general question, can you imagine what I would of had to go through if I wanted a refund or if there were an error made on my account?

I was about to enter a critical business agreement when the other party inquired about a rating I had on mylife.com. I was shocked to read that I had a poor rating due to a "court ruling" against me. I've had one traffic ticket in close to one million of lifetime driving (salesperson). I called mylife.com to request removal of this slanderous rating. I was told, after a long wait, that they could "manage it" if I paid them a monthly membership fee and that if I stopped paying, they would put the rating back online as "punishment" (their words, not mine). I declined, as I know that once you give in to blackmail, you lose. How is this not a federal crime?

This company, with whom I've never had any contact, is circulating inaccurate and defamatory information about me. Enough correct info to identify me (name, age hometown), but false info on job, income and court/criminal records. I called and waited on hold for 32 minutes, only to be disconnected when I was finally next in line. What they're posting about me could result in loss of job and/or opportunities, which used to be known as libel/defamation, which used to be illegal. Is this now legal? I have captured a screenshot of my profile and will send to my state's Secretary of State. In the meantime, I also am anticipating the day when a class action lawsuit brings these soulless grifters to their knees.

They have me at a very low rating, I've worked my entire life and treat others respectfully just to have this website belittle me and make it sound as though I'm a common criminal. How do they get away with this? Looks to me like they're the bad people. Making money on bad mouthing people they don't know. This should be illegal. If they want to show my arrest records that's fine (I have two in 48 years and nothing that I'm ashamed of). I paid my dues and learned from both but who are they to rate the person I am. I got a trial account with MyLife and then tried to cancel the account. The problem is that they make it extremely difficult to do this. There is nothing on their account page about how this can be done. I had to google the topic to find how to do it. I had a charge for $83 on my Visa and after a conversation with their "helpful" customer service they agreed to reverse this charge, but said they were going to charge me their monthly fee of $10 BECAUSE I looked up myself. (By the way the charge was made the same day as my phone call.) I went back into my Visa and found that they actually did reverse the $83 but there was a charge of $19.95. I haven't seen the $10 charge yet, but I'm sure it will be coming. DON'T try their service--it is a ripoff with a very difficult process to get rid of it.

They showed court filings against me personally, when there was a small claims case against my company - my company prevailed in the outcome. I would consider all the information posted to be invalid. There were other errors in my report as well. The options to change or update your subscription(s) are incredibly limited. The only way to change or cancel your subscription or delete your account is to call the customer service number, be placed on an extensive hold, and speak with a representative whose job is to place you on hold again to pull up your information, and then dissuade you from cancelling your account or subscription.
While on the phone with MyLife, I spent more than 30 minutes on hold, about 5 minutes listening to the representative list the benefits of the service and how much I would be missing out on by cancelling the auto-renewal on my membership and another 5 minutes confirming my identity as the account holder. After all of this hullabaloo, wasting half an hour of my life on hold and calling three different customer support numbers (two of which that did not work, and one of which I had to dial twice to even be prompted to connect to the appropriate party), it took the representative no more than five seconds to finally deactivate my account after she exhausted all of the script that MyLife makes her rattle off to me and other customers they want to keep locked into membership plans.
There's no reason that I shouldn't have been able to cancel my membership as easily as she was able to and, while I must say that Mylife.com does offer a decent glimpse at what personal information of yours and others might be exposed to the public eye, if they must imprison their customers in order to run their business, then they must be aware that what they do have to offer is not worth the cost.

If nothing else, it shows itself to be nothing more than low life trash. I only hope their plot to pit people against one another, all while feigning guiltless innocence to any harm that may occur to those with any information displayed on their site.
As well, I must add that the information given in the initial searches and the completed reports contain accurate facts on individuals, but right alongside those facts are opinions, hearsay, inaccuracies, typos, and the provocation for everyone to be suspicious and judgmental with one another. There's a Jerry Springer essence to MyLife.com, or perhaps it's more reminiscent of Sally Jesse Raphael. The lies, drama, ignorance, and malicious entertainment mixed together. That combination does not result in socially responsible information, that is safely shared with rational and sound minds who justifiably require the information and would only use it in worthy pursuits, if at all.

They listed everything from a traffic ticket, to sex crimes, to prison time! There was no specification. MYLIFE needs to be driven out of business! I submitted a request to have my info removed from their site over three months ago and was assured by email that it would be done in approx 10 days. Didn't happen! In fact, the intimidation emails increased in frequency and started also offering me info on named relatives and neighbors. I can only assume that my relatives and neighbors also continued receiving emails regarding my supposed criminal record as well! What BS!
I have finally called the number provided as customer service in their email sent to me to tell me all would be removed months ago, 888 704-1900. Evidently, MYLIFE is concerned about mounting threats of legal action because the rep bent over backward to immediately remove all remaining profiles with my information from their site. She said the info I had cited in my initial request had been removed previously, but there was still some remaining. I told her that to require me to have searched their system to find all of "my" profiles and request removal was unacceptable at the start, and that it was always their responsibility to remove all of "my" info at my first request. The cowardly owner of mylife.com most likely makes beaucoup bucks in cyberbullying. You CANNOT disparage a person’s reputation by mischaracterizing a person. For example, I was sued twice by a landlord who committed fraud against me and I got both lawsuits dismissed. I got sued by a loan shark company because I signed a non-legal commitment letter and I won and got their lawsuit dismissed. But Mylife.com would see that as a negative. This is disparagement and a legal claim against Mylife.com.

I found the website through a news channel who highly recommended for anyone wanting to manage or keep an eye on whoever was searching their name FOR FREE. Well, that's a LIE. Managing your online reputation for "FREE" IS not what this site is doing. Whoever owns this site must be “billionaires in power positions”; with the way they continue to exploit innocent people's reputations, personal information, or spread false claims for monetary gain can only still be around because they know the law & know they can get away with it.
It appears that with the amount of complaints this business has received they've still found a way to manage their online presence gathering a large amount of fake reviewers who give them positive feedback. They’ve changed their physical business address, and their website has less contact information with a warning statement about how they get their facts from government websites which is free public information. I started receiving harassing phone calls daily about my criminal activity, phone calls for old acquaintances, and I didn't connect the dots until I found a lot of false information about me on the site for EVERYONE to see. Well, thank you MyLife for protecting me as you claimed.
The website mylife.com contacted me via email, just days after using their service stating I had negative reports on my background, and in order to have it removed I would have to sign up & pay fees to have it managed effectively. I ignored it because I KNEW I didn't have anything to worry about; or did I? The fraudsters targeted people, and then used whatever information they could gain to scare people into paying. Funny, that is what I get from the new fraud debt callers too. I HAVE NO DEBT! They continued to send emails which only got worse. It went from someone who’s been looking for me to criminal investigations. Since joining this FOR FREE never taking them up on their management offer, the problem has escalated.
I am now getting harassed TO BE THROWN IN JAIL. It seems my phone number and personal verifiable information is out there for any other scammer who wants it OR ANY CRIMINAL WHO WANTS TO TARGET ME. My computer has been hacked, and I've had nothing but problems with other online reporting companies. Whatever you do do not make contact with these other companies. This is how they find, and target you. Thanks to MyLife, this ** is a trend on the internet.
This site has snowballed into something that is affecting my daily life in a very negative way. The scammers have been calling family members, and threatening me. If it isn’t stopped it will continue to get worse. Most people who don’t understand tech industry have no clue how bad it can become for innocent people. I have not the criminal or the negative history this site or other sites are reporting as a result of using the mylife.com site as a way to manage or protect my internet business and reputation.
The owner of this site should be thrown in jail without bail! Cannot believe he's gotten away with this type of activity for so many years. Well, actually maybe I can because the internet has changed things dramatically. Investors of these types of websites KNOW that it will take a long time before anyone is able to do anything about it. By that time, they'll have booked one way airfare with their billions, sold the site, and bought an island where they cannot be touched, found, or prosecuted.
By the way the site has changed the “about information”, has posted a new address, and contact numbers more than one time. Site is a FRAUD. I WANT IN ON CLASS ACTION! CLASS ACTION AGAINST MYLIFE.COM 2018 JOIN HERE. NOTE: My hope is that my repetitive redundant complaint will attract more people to report their experience with this site. My bank records indicated a charge shortly after that.
I called again today and when I told them I should not have been charged, they hung up on me again. I immediately called back and informed the person who answered what had happened. He put me on hold, then came back and said the previous person had issued a refund and asked if I wanted a confirmation number. I said yes and he rattled the number off so fast I had trouble getting it all written down. He asked if there was anything else and I asked him to repeat the number. So here is what I have learned about MyLife.com—this company compiles publicly found data about an individual, makes it easily available to anyone via web search through their large investment into making your information searchable, then sums-up who you are in a 1-5 star rating. If you wish to control what people see about you or correct the many discrepancies— you will either have to request to have all of your information removed from their database (via email), or PAY a subscription fee (giving them even more financial info). Keeping in mind that this company compiles public information, this only resolves what MyLife makes accessible via their platform. So if more companies decide to do the same thing as MyLife (and there are), you'd unfortunately need to do this with every company.
This actually made me feel very depressed & discouraged (in a "Black Mirror" moment). This site reflected my student debt, but not the fact that I completed a BAS and Masters with a high GPA— or can hold jobs longer than 7 years. It reflected what I'm worth monetarily, but no mention that I have raised three amazing kids or have been successfully married for over 20 years. It shows that I am in a litigation, but not that I was rear-ended by an at-fault driver, and that the repercussion of their action hurt my credit score due to medical expenses. This is the direction that the word is going. I fall under a "poor" rating because I live on a broken planet.

The only reason I give 2 stars (as opposed to 1 Star) is that it was relatively easy to turn off automatic renewal-- but I had to call. I was not put on hold and was able to do it easily. The website is somewhat misleading in telling you what you'll get. For $18.95 I thought I would be able to do unlimited background checks for a month-- but no, only one or two, and trying more I was taken to a screen asking me to subscribe to a premium membership. What you get for that $18.95 (after that initial background check or two) is simply people's home addresses and e-mail addresses. Furthermore, the site is full of inaccurate info. You may or may not get a current address, and the "Bio" of the person can at times be ridiculously off. Like everyone else here, they have bogusly accused me, slandered my name, and are completely fabricating lies about my character. I think we all should file a class action suit against them. Not in state court, but in federal court. There is case law against what they are doing on the federal level. There is also federal statutes against blackmail. For them to charge us to take negative information down about us that is unverifiable, and in most cases, outright lies, is in any interpretation of the law, blackmail. If we band together and fight this, we can put this company out of business in less than a year. I think this is an easy case. We would just need to band together and maybe donate $10-15 to the cause.
There are so many of us that the mere $10-15 we would put in individually, would be able to generate enough to go after these leeches. I think I am going to start a GoFundMe page and start with that. If it starts raising enough money to get a good lawyer, I will make sure this is heard on a national level and everyone gets their $10-15.00 back through the lawsuit, and their names removed. And hopefully the company bankrupts because of it! There are 10s of thousands of us, if not hundreds of thousands. This is flagrant blackmail on a massive scale. I will come back once the GoFundMe account is set up and update everyone. We should do this. What they are doing is wrong, and I know we would win. Easy win here. They are blackmailing us. Stumbled upon this site and searched myself just because I was curious to see what it was. Not only was it inaccurate but blatantly criminal by saying this may exist or that may exist. I immediately called the corp and had my information removed as it is a public business offering data on consumers. I recorded the conversations then and threatened them with a lawsuit. Today 10-6-18 I decided to check up on whether or not my data was truly deleted and believe me when it comes to data and collecting evidence I screen record and screenshot key data including their fake splash screens showing they are compiling data. I called them once again and explained they were being recorded. They immediately hung up. I called back and kept calling back harassing them till eventually they removed my data once again. Remember I screenshot and screen recorded the entire incident. MyLife is a scam praying on innocent people with erroneous data.

Seems this company should be sued for "defamation of character" and their site only shows you good reviews about themselves and none of the neg's. I wanted to look myself up on Google, as I have nothing to hide but just wanted to see what search engines would say. The biggest complaint I had was that I never gave any permission to MyLife to put a certain picture of me up. The picture was old and outdated and didn't look very professional. The salary information about me was way off. I'm glad I looked this up because if I would have tried to get a job and they saw the higher salary I was making, it could have caused problems. I thought salaries were suppose to be secret and I didn't know it was legal for MyLife to post a salary of a person online without permission.
The part where I worked was correct but I still don't want everyone to be able to just look me up. This was VERY invasive of MyLife and I NEVER signed up and I NEVER gave MyLife permission to post a picture or salary information about me. With this in mind you can see why they developed this site in order to easily get those people to sign up so they can personalize what others see. All the while claiming all information pertaining to yourself is public knowledge. The fact you can personalize should tell you how bogus this site is. Currently, they have false information that I’ve personally added to see how the site works. As a norm I like to research and test each site to determine is validity. This site is a scam and should be shut down completely. Unfortunately, it’s not the only site that preys on innocent victims. My personal experience says it can hurt otherwise good people in getting a fair chance at employment, etc.
In this day and age the general public believes they have the right to know everything about person's life. This is ludicrous thinking. Let me ask, would you want all your dirty laundry out there for anyone to pass judgment; Regardless of whether it’s true or not? There are somethings I agree should be made public such as a criminal record, but to list a persons income is not anyone’s business or how a persons reputation is scored. In addition, I contacted this company and asked them to remove my name completely from their site several times and they’ve refused. I’ve also noticed my so called reputation score has dropped since my request; which I believe they did because of my request to be removed entirely from their site. Consumer Affairs should shut down MyLife! This company is not only aiding and abetting in bullying and abuse but also exploiting vulnerable people such as elders who believe the false reports of people looking for them and hoping to reunite with loved ones only to be bilked for money based on a clever marketing ploy of luring or scaring people into membership. Victims of domestic violence, stalking, and bullying are being further victimized by discovering former abusers named as being "family" on profiles due to former marriages; This has happened to me. Also, many females in public are stalked and harassed, and MyLife's shameful lack of strategy related to protecting at-risk persons from further harassment is appalling.
Like others here have stated, requests for one's record to be removed from MyLife are not being handled with permanent removal - I've seen mine repopulate. This is a very serious matter. Likewise, for those of us facing bias due to age, having our DOB broadcast on an internet search for our name is really unhelpful, as plenty of today's HR and PR staffers are 'googling' potential employees and associates - and it's a social science fact that ageism can and does affect employment processes in some sectors.
Personally, I discovered that a former legal name I had due to an abusive short marriage over 25 years ago is being broadcast on the internet with no regard to the fact of its impact on a survivor. Public records are now being shouted from the mountaintops by brokers such as MyLife - not just 'made available' for a fee. There's a difference.
And I've recently learned through reading comments here that if long lost abusers or recently avoided stalkers or some other weirdo, decide to try to harass me - MyLife allows anonymous comments to be lodged onto profiles! This is an egregious situation. Information brokers like MyLife are exploiting digital records in order to bully people into paying them money. MyLife's parasitic treatment of the public and manipulation of vulnerable people should be thoroughly exposed and shut down. This is in dire need of regulation on behalf civil rights.

I immediately contacted MyLife, asked how this was allowed to happen and they confirmed that they do in fact allow people to post whatever they want about you, without any type of verification, and do not flag any inappropriate or hateful comments. They also rated him "good" even though he has no job, no place to live, is using drugs and is over a year behind in child support payments. They claim the information is collected from public sources, but I do not feel this information is actually readily available anywhere else to the public nor should it be.
After contacting Mylife.com immediately (Feb 2017) and discussing it with their customer service, I was told my information nor my family members information would be removed. I have called Mylife.com on six occasions in the past year to include this week (Feb 2018) asking for our profiles to be removed. I am met with the same answer of “No.” I also receive harassing, predatory sales emails on a daily basis claiming everything from “negative items have been found on your background report,” “someone is looking for you,” to “someone reviewed you and your reputation score has changed... this will affect potential employment and employer’s decision making to hire you.” I have selected to unsubscribe from these emails countless times and yet, they continue. This “business” charges innocent consumers to “fix” or view falsely claimed negative information.
