My score... 2.8? My last traffic ticket was 9 years and 4 months ago, no other law infractions, 10+ yrs of steady employment since graduating college, my credit score is a 816, household annual income $70K range, I own my own house and 2 automobiles. But apparently I DO have “criminal and arrest records.” And then it says I “may” have past “sexual offenses.” And considering you people are trying to be a reputable background fact checking company, you should maybe consider getting your basic grammar and punctuation correct.
“View Nicholas’s Sex Offender Records” is incorrect. The correct way of writing that is “View Nicholas’ Sex Offender Records.” Don’t pay for any type of subscription to this website run by people who apparently don’t have an 8th grade education who have configured a way to make money off of outright slander and defamation. Selfish pigs.

I called to inform them that the personal information about me was incorrect and wanted it removed. They said I have to buy a subscription to do that. I told them I saw it as a scam and I was recording the conversation. They hung up. BEWARE.

Charged me 40 dollars for a free trial. Horrible site. Customer service is trash. They won’t refund my money. I literally looked up up 4 people and that’s when they said I need to pay more but I declined the offer. When I called the office the man was very short with me and even shouted at me a little. Never getting my business again.

That's the first thing they say. It comes from the internet so it may be wrong. That's why they publish? I had civil suits and liens listed for someone on the other side of the country whose last name is the same as my middle name. They are liable for slanderous information, it's flat out defamation of character and should be followed up with a class action civil suit. In this day and age the first thing someone does when they meet you is google your name! I called to complain, because I paid their money to get it a membership to check and get it removed, and they said, they can't. Same thing with White pages directory, the same information was there. You publish the webpage, you are responsible for the mis-information on it. Let alone the parts saying I'm associated with all these people I've never even heard of, but no family members?
Here is the kicker. I went to the New York State Tax Warrants Section online and was able to run a search and my name doesn't even show up. Not even a variation of it. How can they not be liable for publishing that I'm of poor character and don't pay my bills? They need to be taken to court and laws need to be written to hold them liable if they aren't already established. Period.

Class action suit is needed - it's extortion, plain and simple. They say a person has a "criminal record", which they don't, and then get you to sign up/pay money to join and correct the information. How many jobs have people been turned down for when a potential employer sees this and doesn't know it's a bogus website? There is legal standing to sue for everyone on the website.

If you're reading this now it is because you have already made the mistake by looking up your name and finding you have a less than an honest rating up to 5. Hopefully you did not make the mistake and pay them any money to correct false/bad information about you. This site is a BIG SCAM!!! I'm almost 66 years old, a good person but at first view of this site I would not even want to associate with me under any circumstances. My true rating of me would be 4.5 stars. Like all of us no one is perfect and we all have at least little MINOR wrongs in our lives. My true rating of MyLife.com site is a negative 5 stars!!!!

DO NOT SIGN UP ONLINE! I signed up for 1 week trial for 1.00. It said I was charged 1.00. When I completed process it had charged me 107.00 for 12 months of service! It even had my wrong last name associated with my credit card. Dayna who worked in another country argued with me and kept trying to sell me different options. I finally yelled "Cancel now!!!!" She kept me on hold for almost 10 minutes to reverse charge. Now? She said it can take days to get my money back!! I never even used the service!

I called this company to opt out of their website/database today. The rep on the phone stated that he could not find my information. He verified my name, age, location and also a direct link my Mylife.com profile page. Stated that it wasn't there at all and that I should restart my phone. I was able to pull up my info using different browsers and also with different IP addresses using multiple proxy locations and also even using for (privacy browser). This definitely is not a case of information being stuck in a browser cache because of the multiple attempts and all showed the same result of my information being there. I can only think of two reasons that they would tell me they can't find it.
One, is that they are getting their backend info from databases that I have already successfully deleted my info out of or, more likely. It's just blatant fraud. I would suspect that if I called back as a sales call my info will pop right up for the agent. I asked for a supervisor and the agent stated after a very brief hold that the supervisor said he would send an email to the privacy team. I asked to be cc'd and included in that email chain and agent said nothing of that and tried to rush me off the phone saying 48 hours. I asked to speak directly to a supervisor again. He said he would transfer me. It rang once and then dead air. I will try again to opt out and call again as a sales call to confirm my suspicions tomorrow. However I do suspect the worse.

I had checked out MyLife to see what info it had on me. I saw there was some incorrect stuff but I had to pay to become a member. When I signed up, a 7 day trial popped up to use for a 1.00. I chose that and saw there were some stuff that was correct, but other things that were wrong and are almost 20 yrs old and should have no bearing on "reputation".
I checked my account page and saw auto renew was enabled. So I disabled it. A short time after I was on the site for the CC that I used to check out something else when I saw I had a charge of 83.40 pending. I called MyLife to get the charge refunded. I couldn't have encountered a more rude person. After fighting with me for a few minutes, after I lost my cool he then said 'sir, there is no trial period and your money is ours now. Goodbye!' Then hung up on me. I called my CC company and they couldn't do anything right now until the charge hit at which point they told me to make sure I call back and then they will get the money refunded.
I got off the phone with them, went onto MyLife and created a fake account just so the 7 day trial option would come up and once it did, I took a screenshot of it. I called MyLife back and got a different person. She was a bit nicer and told her everything I went through and that I had already called my CC company and they know everything that has happened and are prepared to do what they have to once that charge hits. She puts me on hold and in a minute or so comes back and tells me my money will be refunded but will take a few days to clear. And told that it is "Very important that you don't dispute this charge with your CC company. It can possibly tie up your refund".
And a few other things were said as if trying to get me to cover for them so they don't get any kind of blowback or anything. Point is, if you're reading this, then I'm sorry that something bad happened to you from this site as well. It really sucks, doesn't it? Hopefully the majority of people who have had issues with this site can get something resolved. I have to wait a few days to see if they're going to follow through and give me my money back. We'll see.

Then I received another email 48 hours later that they were unable to remove me due to nonsense that this information is gathered from public information.
I am a married woman with children and they are using my information on a dating site that I did not sign up for nor have I given them my permission to use my business information. I have never worked at any school called Randy Robinson. There is no such school in Old Lyme, CT. I do not have an administrative degree that would allow me to apply for a job as a Principal.
They have me related to people I have never met nor knew they existed. I DO NOT HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE OR ANY DEGREE OR LICENSE THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO PRESCRIBE ANY CONTROLLED PHARMACEUTICALS. They also have me listed "Licenses and Permits. Check Full Background Report to see weapons permits, Federal Aviation Administration pilot licenses and Drug Enforcement Administration licenses for prescribing controlled pharmaceuticals." Not long ago I was going to various websites that aggregate personal information on people from public records and following all of their opt-out procedures, just as a general privacy measure. When I got to MyLife.com, I followed the opt-out process they said they follow, then weeks later I get a response from one of their employees. Their complete cop-out response included the following: "Unfortunately the information on your Public Background page cannot be removed as it is gathered from public records, government, and other public sources..."
This is obviously a lie, MyLife.com's owner Jeffrey Tinsley CAN remove anybody's information at will, he simply chooses not to. And... unlike every other similar service out there... he insists that you pay for a monthly membership to his otherwise-useless service in order to opt-out. While they might be following the letter of the law, this is the definition of extortion. It is a freakishly antisocial business model, to put a service out there that people want no part of, force the entire public at-large into participating, and then extorting them into paying your bills, just for the privilege of being able to NOT take part in your service.
People should be decent human beings, even when the law allows for them to be less-than... a lesson Jeffrey Tinsley apparently never learned. I don't particularly care all that much about having this profile out there, but this incredibly pessimistic and antisocial business model really rubbed me the wrong way. It is a shame we are forced to share a society with people like this, who care only to enrich themselves, who value only the acquisition of wealth and completely overlook any intrinsic value of providing something of value to others in exchange for their income.
The people who REALLY lose out in all of this, are the lower-level public figures, who do not have all that much money, and for whom having their personal information made readily available to the public at-large presents a genuine threat to their safety. Those people are, without a doubt, the ones who keep Tinsley's lights on, and pay his rent. I hope you read this cause this was devastating to see my mom there, cause for a split second, I had hope she was alive somehow. She died in 95, & it felt like that day all over again. I just sent the paragraph above to CNN! Don from CNN, and many more will follow. I would love to stare them in the face, in court, and tell them exactly what it felt like to see my Dead Mom again. I have removed my info from MyLife more than once. I just happened to look and there it is again. There was a time when you could claim that it was you and have it removed, you now need to email or call to remove the information and deal with upsales. I signed up for a $1.00 trial out of curiosity. My reputation score shows up as less than 3 due to some horribly inaccurate information and a car accident settlement that is more than 10 years old. I had forgotten about it and thought it had something to do with my ex-husband.
In order to raise your reputation score, you have to get your friends and family to rate you. They can say "I would not be friends with X". or "I would not date X". Anyone can do this and they can do it anonymously. Luckily this did not happen to me. They have a photo of me that was used without my permission. There are people that I might be related to like old roommates, my ex-husbands horrible second wife and people that I've never heard of. I have a very common last name so they could technically associate me with thousands of people in my hometown alone. Photos that I had posted online of somebodies mug shot showed up in my pictures.
I have put in a request to have the information removed via email and it has been acknowledge. I am skeptical that the information will not show up again. I was on hold for several minutes in order to cancel my $1.00 trial subscription. I do not want any of my dollars to go into supporting this despicable company. The call was answered by a company in India. By a man called Harry. They asked why: I told them that I did not want to support their company. They asked for my email & name and then put me on hold for a long time while they "looked up my info". He began to try to sell me, I cut him off and said that I was not interested. Total time 16 minutes including hold time. Of all of the people lookup sites, this one is by far the worst and the most insidious. When you cancel make sure that you record the date, time, get a name and a confirmation number. You may need this if your account gets charged.

What is your reputation based on your background? It doesn't give any details unless you pay for it and even when you pay for it, they don't have the details correct to begin with but they're rating your reputation on the world wide web. You can easily be looked over for a job interview or promotion because of this reputation so-called scale. It's not civil right and borders on defamation of character. I also would like to form a class action suit against MyLife. I've found many many many people complaining about them online. This creates a highly inaccurate, poisonous "reputation." It seeds the general public for mistrust of individuals who may have high moral character, but poor financial or unlucky arrest records (especially minorities). It also has the potential to create a misleading positive reputation for people with extremely poor moral character who have been able to influence their way to positive reputation based solely on financial success. I attempted to call them to remove myself from their postings, and waited more than an hour to reach someone. And just before my turn came up (I was first in the queue) they disconnected me. I allegedly am related to people I do not even know that have low scores which lowered my score too. What? I also had a false arrest because some despicable person claimed I did something I did not do. The prosecution dropped all charges but it is still on my record because I cannot afford to get it expunged. I am sure that gives me a low score too. Really? I had one judgment on my record because I became unemployed and could not pay a credit card off a few years back but I privately paid it all off through lawyers. I am sure that is on my record too and lowers my MyLife score.
I admit I did get a DUI which was my own fault. I did my probation and paid my restitution to society for what I did. It woke me up to my drinking problem and I no longer drink and drive. I still have an occasional drink at home because it is legal. I just do not drive anywhere. I stay home as I am allowed to do by law. We all should be able to learn from our mistakes without being judged so harshly. I would say the way they judge people on this site is not fair to the general public. People who are known to be con artists/thieves that have never gotten in trouble with the law get high scores as well. They lie, cheat and steal from people then get away with it.
I have never stolen from anyone. I give to animal and St. Jude charities and help homeless people at the Sharing Center so they can have warm clothes in the Winter. I do it because in my heart I know that is the right thing to do. But still I look like some sort of criminal or low life because of MyLife. The one star review is for the site and service, not customer support. I would echo what every other reviewer has said: the information provided is private, not public, and much of it is bogus. ML published information about a couple of speeding tickets that are over 9 years old, even though our state wipes out that information after 5 years. ML said one person was currently looking at my information, when in fact the search was 7 years old. ML associated me with deceased "neighbors" who lived on the street long before I moved there. ML listed as current employment my part ownership of company we sold 7 years ago. After doing a "deep search," ML came up with 0 sites on which they claimed there was derogatory information to fix. And, after 45 years of an impeccable reputation in my profession, on ML I have a reputation score of 3.75 based on 1 "personal review", ML's own ambivalent entry 4 years ago.
So, in fact this is a sham and harmful site. The only way that my experience differs from others is that after entering the phone wait list at number 43, and waiting about 30 minutes, I did talk to a real person, who confirmed cancellation/non-renewal of my $1 7-day trial, gave me a cancellation record number and then emailed me a written confirmation. Others have suggested a lawsuit. While the ML terms and conditions that you agree to without reading before signing are probably egregious enough to get thrown out even in California, what really needs to happen is complaint bombardment to the California Attorney General.

When you call the listed number to be removed they put in a line of 30 or more waiting calls for 30 minutes or more, then hang up on you when it's your turn. I strongly suspect that this was faked because she continued to say it for about two mins. She also paused her hellos when I spoke more than a hello back. I ended up disconnecting after cursing her out for about a min.

This site is dangerous and puts many people at risk by making too much information available. I sent them an email (and got a response) demanding they remove my information within 72 hours or I will file a lawsuit. Anything someone writes about you shared in a public forum that is inaccurate or can cause damage to you financially, is defamation. There is also a review feature where the site allows others to rate you up to 5 stars and leave comments about you as if you are a business or celebrity. They somehow dug it up and posted it without my permission. The worst part? THEY REFUSE TO HONOR REMOVAL REQUESTS. They gave me a boiler plate response that basically said: “This is public information, ** you.” Signed by some generic single-named person. I don’t know if this is even a person or an automation. Their phone system appears to be automated as when you call it tells you that you are 12 in line, makes like there are other people waiting, hangs up when it gets to you. You call back, guess what? Exactly 12th in line again.
They want you to pay more than $100 a year to “claim your profile” which means you can make it “private” but I think what that means is that it is “private” to anybody but someone that pays $1 for a trial membership. Even if it made it private to everyone, the information would still be there unless you paid $100 as “protection money” basically to lock your detailed private information. What this company is doing is unethical and immoral. I don’t know.

The options to change or update your subscription(s) are incredibly limited. The only way to change or cancel your subscription or delete your account is to call the customer service number, be placed on an extensive hold, and speak with a representative whose job is to place you on hold again to pull up your information, and then dissuade you from cancelling your account or subscription.
While on the phone with MyLife, I spent more than 30 minutes on hold, about 5 minutes listening to the representative list the benefits of the service and how much I would be missing out on by cancelling the auto-renewal on my membership and another 5 minutes confirming my identity as the account holder. After all of this hullabaloo, wasting half an hour of my life on hold and calling three different customer support numbers (two of which that did not work, and one of which I had to dial twice to even be prompted to connect to the appropriate party), it took the representative no more than five seconds to finally deactivate my account after she exhausted all of the script that MyLife makes her rattle off to me and other customers they want to keep locked into membership plans.
There's no reason that I shouldn't have been able to cancel my membership as easily as she was able to and, while I must say that Mylife.com does offer a decent glimpse at what personal information of yours and others might be exposed to the public eye, if they must imprison their customers in order to run their business, then they must be aware that what they do have to offer is not worth the cost.
