I paid for a 3 month membership and realized after 30 days I was starving and the diet wasn't working and the website was confusing - it didn't help me at all. I decided to cancel my membership after 30 days. Weight Watchers didn't reimburse me the rest of my back or did they let me use the rest of my time. If you were going to kick me off your website because I canceled the least thing you could had done was give me my money back. They're crooks. I wouldn't recommend Weight Watchers to anyone unless you're willing to starve yourself...

Weight watchers have charge my charge card for four years. (2011-2014) I discover this last year (2014) when I was checking my statement. After looking at my statement more closely I saw a charge of $17.95 from Weightwatchers.com Inc. I call my charge card company asking them why is there a Weight Watchers charge on my card. I explained to them that I have not authorize Weight Watchers to charge my card for $17.95. After checking into what was going on I discovered that Weight Watchers had been charging my charge card monthly since 2011. The credit card company said they only could refund me 4 months back. They stated to me that I would need to get in touch with Weight Watchers to get a refund from them.

When I tell you the wait time is ridiculous that is the understatement. When I finally had the opportunity to speak to a live person, after some research I find out that my daughter had sign up for 3 months (2011) which that's what I told her she could do . After that she call and cancel the weight watcher program. (I had to get my daughter on the phone because they indicated to me I did not have an account with them). My daughter explained to them several times that she did cancel with them because she was unable to access her online account. When the representative ask her did she have the cancellation information, my daughter indicated to her that she never got the email verification from them. The representative said she would need to speak to a supervisor regarding this matter. I waited several weeks for someone to call me back. I had to call again and go through the long wait time and explaining this situation all over again.

I finally spoke to a supervisor and she said the best she could do was refund me for 6 months. By the way she was extremely rude. I know that I should have been looking at my statements monthly. But since I do not receive paper statements, I just pay my monthly statement. I explained to them that there has not been any activity on my daughter's account for all of the years and you were charging $17.95 per month for 4 years. After reading some of the other reviews regarding Weight Watchers, this type of thing is something Weight Watchers really need to address. A company like Weight Watchers taking monies from customers is wrong. I use to be a fan of Weight Watchers, not any more. I am paying for 4 years of Weight Watchers online services I or my daughter never ever authorize.

I recently purchased a promotional 3 month subscription for tools, meetings and coaching. Part of my consideration was the link to Fitbit. It wasn't until I tried it that I found out my weights (via Fitbit's Aria Bluetooth scale) will not import. I contacted support, confirming the same. I've always liked WW plan but have been so frustrated over the years with them being years behind technically and charging a bundle for every little book, tool, and online info. So 3 days later, I canceled out. I am only receiving $89 back of $179! I will report to AG and BBB.

In early Dec 2014, I lost my job so I contacted Weight Watchers to cancel my wife's monthly $42.95 recurring subscription. The representative asked me to reconsider and offered a 45 day free extension, which she said was good through Jan 16. But on Jan 2, I got charged another $42.95. When I called back, I was told only my wife could cancel. So then I got my wife to call them. Then they said that since a new January membership card was already issued, she had to send it back first! Which she did...and now, almost 3 weeks later, still no refund, even though I've contacted them at least half a dozen times. Now I have to dispute with my bank. From reading all the other complaints about this company it sounds like Weight Watchers has a DELIBERATE POLICY OF LYING TO ITS SUBSCRIBERS. I think a class action suit should be considered.

I joined Weight Watchers in December prior to the price increase, however, the membership numbers from the stores "must have been bad" according to several customer reps. I had no access to the online tools or tracker and I had to restart my accounts 3 times. Today on the 4th account (a few minutes ago) it will not accept my log on info. Needless to say this has been hours on the phone waiting or tonight 2 hours on with customer service. They will not refund my money.

I now have to pay more per month and I am so angry I could spit. I really don't want to belong to them as I believe from my experience and from reading here that their business practices are lacking. I have lost 6 pound on my own with the availability of the apps-considering quitting but need the accountability of meetings. So far very unimpressed by online tools!

I agree with another reviewer. Yes, it is very hard to cancel with weight watchers. They will not give any discounts for seniors on a fixed income! What about the program?? They would rather lose customers than to give any kind of discount! On their monthly rate, it comes to $600 annually!!

I had a monthly subscription to Weight Watchers and went online to cancel it in early November. I went through their online system and followed their prompts for cancellation. I verified that their system indicated my account was cancelled. They continued to charge me in December and January. When I called to complain they asked for a cancellation number, which their system never gave, so they only reversed one month's charge. By reading other complaints, it appears Weight Watchers has set up a misleading online cancellation system that looks like you've cancelled your account, when it isn't cancelled at all. Pretty sneaky way to get more revenue. Well, Weight Watchers, for that extra $18.95 you squeezed out of me, you've lost a customer for life.

I was a monthly pass member and was charged the $42.95. When I went to the meeting a week later, they offered new online options, so I switched to an online-only plan. I was then charged $19.00. In 1 week, I was charged over $60. I spoke to 3 different customer service people. The first one said the refund will be a few days - the following Monday or Tuesday at the latest. It is now a week later and still no refund. I called again. I got the "It is processing. The holidays must be holding it up." It is 1 holiday day - the 25th. Tomorrow will be the 14th day and still no refund. Weight Watchers is very quick to charge your credit card for services you haven't even used yet but to get a refund, they say a few days but really mean weeks. I am still waiting.

My spouse wanted to cancel her online Weight Watchers subscription. We filed in the cancellation form on their website EXACTLY as requested. They charged for the following month as expected but then for the month after too. I called and complained. They said they had no record of my cancellation and would cancel after another month of fees IF I would physically send back the membership card they send in the mail. Ridiculous! So I called Visa and not only filed a complaint but cancelled that card so they couldn't charge another month. I'm pretty sure, after reading online, that this is Weight Watchers method of gaining revenue - "Oops sorry, we can't find your cancellation but we'll just charge you another month and then cancel" and then they "forget" again. My wife and I joined WW on 12-05-2014. Everything seemed ok at first until I checked my online banking. Weight Watchers overcharged my account to the tune of $42.95. I called the 800 number provided and got a bunch of run around BS from them saying they did not overcharge me when in fact I had proof. I sent them a printout of the proof and they still denied the overcharge. After threatening with attorneys they just so happen to find the charge and told me I would receive a refund to my account within 10 days, but instead of refunding my money, they took another $85.90 out claiming to have deducted for the following month, AFTER I cancelled my membership. Weight Watchers may help you lose weight but they also help you lose your money. These people are ripoff artists. NEVER trust them, they lie and steal. Now I'm headed to the bank to close my account and open a new one because I no longer trust WW with my information.

My wife subscribed for a free 3 months' trial. Weight watchers then automatically took a monthly subscription of £11.95 out of her account, which went on for 5 months before we noticed. This was not made clear in any way when she subscribed, and any organisation with an ethical attitude to its commercial practices would highlight this fact when making an offer to potential subscribers. To promote themselves in the way they have done makes Weight watchers no better than thieves, and you have to wonder whether this lack of integrity runs through every aspect of their business.

Weight Watchers did help me lose a lot of weight, but as I've learned more and more about health I don't agree with all their principles. Although that is not the point of this comment, I wanted to mention WW is a good starting point if you want to learn a new eating lifestyle. BUT the leader who has been at the site I go to has gained a minimum of 60 lbs. She stands in front of the group - a horrible inspiration (actually not an inspiration at all) at meetings with her pup tent for a shirt and her thighs quite humongous. If Weight Watchers is OK with that, it's sad. How do they expect to get new customers when they have a leader who is extremely overweight? It's a combination of pathetic, disgusting and BAD business! Does WW care? Probably not because they make SOOO much money, what's one leader to them?

I tried several times, uninstalled it and re-installed it and the same problem occurred. I then sent WW an e-mail to customer service for problem solving and was sent an e-mail verifying they had received my request. Two days later I received an e-mail from a customer service rep giving me some tips on what to do to get the app to work. I had already tried all of the "tips" she provided, but did them anyway just in case. The app still did not work.

I then called the 1-800 number provided in the e-mail and spoke directly with a technical rep. She was of no help whatsoever. All she did was reset my password and the app still didn't work. After 30 minutes of speaking with her, she basically told me, "I don't know what the problem is". And left it at that. No help at all. I contacted Weight Watcher again and explained what occurred during this conversation and two days later I still have not had a response from them. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE WEIGHT WATCHER APP. Fast forward, I'm now 8 months pregnant and noticed today that WW had charged $18.95 to my account this month. Curious, I began looking back through my statements and discovered I had been billed $18.95 every month. My account was obviously never actually cancelled, even though I received confirmation that it was.

I called customer service and after sitting on hold for over 40 minutes, spoke with a rep who told me that because there wasn't a note on the account that I had cancelled, they would only refund 3 months of charges. That is only half of what they have taken from my account since I cancelled almost 6 months ago. I was then transferred to a supervisor. He asked for my phone number and said he would request that their corporate office call me in 7-10 business days to resolve my account. I'm now out over $100 in monthly charges that they refuse to refund in full, and waiting 7-10 business days for any sort of resolution, assuming they contact me as I was told they would after over an hour on the phone. As a former customer rep of Weight Watchers I do want to bring some inside view. I personally read a few reviews and see how well some people can get quite angry at the reps. However if possible I would like to kindly as to PLEASE don't fully blame it on them. They are LITERALLY (and speaking from experience) just doing their job and/or what they are told to say/or do.

Most information was given to us by short notice. Other information we were trained for. But mainly we always try to do our best. But same time we have to focus on still following the policy.

Believe it or not some of us even cry over the fact that we try the hardest to help out the members we get and still get reported as bad customer service. Truthfully its not our fault. And we are surely not blaming you either. You would be surprised that we honestly would get fired or scored bad just because of the calls we get. Which is HIGHLY unbelievable...But there is nothing we can do but hope for better calls. We could get a call with a member already truly pissed off and if that member can't get his/her refund they would score us bad and we would be consulted or warned or even fired because that member was upset. I mean we followed the policy but just because that member was already upset and reviewed us as bad support we the ones who get penalized or even lose our job.

I remember a bunch of calls I took where at the end of the call I would end up crying because there was nothing I could do to assist the member beyond what I am allowed to do. Hey I agree with you it is wrong...But what am I suppose to do? Make you happy lose my job...Or follow my job's policy..And still may end up losing my job.

We have it heavy where we at and somehow we still try to end up smiling at the end. Some agents like myself would go the extra mile or show extra support in order to help the member. Be surprised how many members I got that were not computer savvy and was upset because they would have to do something with their account on their computer they may or may not have.. But because our policy states we cannot do it for them.. Well its out our hands.

Now for the years I been working as a customer service rep I will say this one thing... It is HARD... Only those who been through it and FULLY understand the HELL you go through with trying to help the member but only allowed to do so much. It causes a LOT of stress. Some agents would even catch heart attacks and such due to the high stress of really trying to pull in all their effort into helping the members they get but knowing that this is what they have to do to earn a living. Some agents have nowhere else to go and nothing else to do. Some have children and they have to come and deal with members who are wanting things that would put them in stress.

My only request is when you get with a rep try to ask them how their day is going and let them know keep up their hard work cause you would be surprised at how HARD it is....

Okay, I'm going to be accurate and fair. After reading the riot act to a woman at customer service, she called back when she said she would and actually told me they are refunding a month (they charged two months after the initial three months I purchased).

    Original Review: Aug. 13, 2014

I signed up and paid for a 3-month membership, but was unable to access my account - ever. In the margin of the email acknowledging my having joined was a paragraph that they would automatically bill my credit card monthly after the initial three months were up, and they did. (this isn't something I would normally consciously authorize) Just want people to know that they lure you into a low cost membership, have problems with their website/membership/benefits and will continue to bill you. After reading other complaints, I cancelled my debit card to be safe.

Let me begin by saying that I have been a Weight Watchers lifetime member since 1985, and I think that their weight loss program is excellent. The trouble started when they began selling Monthly Passes, billed to your credit card. If you reach goal weight early in the month, you will never see a refund unless you are willing to hire a lawyer. They may also continue to bill you monthly for the Pass, even though it should be cancelled. Etools is worse. If you ever agree to have an account and have Etools, you will have an awful time cancelling.

I was billed $14.95 for Etools for 4 months, despite 3 attempts to cancel. Each time I was told my account was cancelled, but they billed me anyway. Now they say they are going to give me a refund, but I will believe that only when (and if) I see it. Bottom line, as so many others have said, NEVER GIVE WEIGHT WATCHERS ACCESS TO YOU CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT. They will do anything to make a few extra bucks off their unsuspecting members.

The customer service was absolutely horrendous when I was actually able to get in touch with someone, which took forever. He talked in circles and never offered any solution or assistance and even proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I "Forgot" my password, which I did not. I told him clearly that I wrote my password down, and put it in and it did not work.

I then changed the password to a new one and that still did not work. I could not access the site at all. I would not recommend this service whatsoever. They are poorly run and their customer service reps are full of empty excuses - so pitiful.

I signed up for what I thought was the online, month-long membership trial in January of 2014. Little did I know that by agreeing to "test it out," I was actually giving Weight Watchers permission to withdraw money from my bank account every month until I said the magic word "cancel" (which I actually thought I had). I had difficulties with their online site and communicated that to them; I believe on two different occasions. I was not satisfied with their cookie-cutter answer but was relieved to "know" that I had only signed up for the one month.

In addition, it was my understanding from the communications that my account would be cancelled at the end of the month. Of course, I did not keep any of the communications since I did not think that I would need them later. Now, they are telling me that there is no possibility for a refund. I am disappointed that a business would treat their clients like this.

I joined Weight Watchers online, and have been buying many of their products. 1st week I lost weight, eating more fresh things & other named products & I lost weight. 2nd week I purchased mostly Weight Watchers products. One day I decided to weigh a packet of their crisps on the packet it says 16g and worth 2 Pro Points. Imagine my dismay to find they weighed 46g, which is worth at least 6 Pro Points. So basically no chance of losing weight!!! So I pay for Weight Watchers online and purchase their products at a cost higher than most products, and find I am very (and others too) that I probably won't lose weight if the food is falsely advertised in this way. I emailed Weight Watchers, and the response was they don't manufacture the products and will pass on my e-mail. I have not heard anything since.

At the end of the day, I don't care 'who' manufactures them. I am paying to weight watchers, and purchasing products with their name on it. They should be held responsible. I will now be taking this further, as I am disgusted with this and the lack of responsibility from WW!! I also have a sealed bag of these crisps again weighing at 46g which I will be using to bring them down and get my money back for a diet that is not going to work.

I decided to try Weight Watchers for a 1-month trial which I paid for at a local WW meeting with promises of no further obligation if I didn't want to continue my membership. However, in order for me to "activate" my membership and get their newsletter and other info, I had to register my membership online -- which also required me to provide my credit card info -- which I was informed was standard practice as a "convenience" which would allow me to pay for monthly fees if I decided to continue participating in WW. It turned out that WW wasn't right for me and did not renew my membership. On my next credit card bill I was surprised to find that WW had charged my card for another month of membership -- at the highest rate possible, though I had declined to continue.

I then emailed them in an attempt to get a refund for which I have not yet received, nor, as it turns out can I delete my credit card info -- or my personal data from their WW website. Thus the only recourse I had was to have my credit card company stop payment on any future charges from them. Shouldn't it be illegal for a company to prevent its members from deleting their personal info and credit card data from the website if they decide they no longer wish to participate in that service? I was shocked by what I consider an unreasonable policy. My credit card info is now permanently on file at Weight Watchers and vulnerable to hackers, unscrupulous WW employees, IT vendors and whomever may have access to that info -- with absolutely no way for me to delete such information when I have no plans to continue having anything to do with that organization.

I lost over 54 pounds in less than ten months simply by following WW's rules and program TO THE LETTER. And I've kept the weight off for more than three years. So, it really does work, and it works because it teaches you how to deal with REAL food in the REAL world. And, that's particularly important to me because my work as a consultant often means working lunches and dinners, and conferences with overloaded "refreshment" tables. Through all of this WW has given me strategies to attain and maintain my successes. The key to WW success is the leadership at the local level (and our group leader is an absolute wonder in every respect) and the camaraderie and support of all the members in the group.

Unfortunately, what WW has that is so wonderful at the local level is sorely lacking at all the levels above the local. This is particularly evident in their online services. We continually battle features and functionalities on their website that are poorly designed and maintained. For example, my wife received a notification about a week ago that WW couldn't charge her membership to our credit card, except that the credit card number they had was replaced more than a year ago and they had been successfully charging to our card all the time since. Trying to rectify the situation with WW on the phone turned into an hour-long goat-rope and a very obviously jury-rigged "fix" that indicated to me they have what appears to be rather dubious security procedures for members' account information. Then, just three days after WW's bungling of our card information we were notified by BoA that our current credit card number had been compromised by an online service provider sometime during the previous three days.

Another problem with their online services is the overall poor operating performance of their website. Even though I stay logged on as an active tab in Firefox, three quarters of the time I go to my home window to enter my food intake it keeps treating me as if I'm a first-time visitor and activates all sorts of pop-ups to explain features and I have to keep telling it not to do that, only to have it do it again the next time. The food and activity database search engine function is completely unintuitive and will only respond with a food or brand if the query is phrased and typed EXACTLY as it is stored in the WW database (even in instances where the database spelling itself is incorrect); and, foods searched by type will appear with their respective commercial brand names, but if you elect to find them by brand name the database search engine never finds them.

All told, WW's online services remind me of website performance of the sort I encountered when I first went online more than twenty years ago. Think of it this way, I give Amazon $99/year for my Prime membership and their online services are simply great, but we give WW almost $480/year and their online services are severely afflicted... quite a contrast. I could go on at length, but I'm in a hurry to run errands and sum it up by saying that if Amazon ran their online services like WW they'd be filing for Chapter 11 protection in a week. I just wish the WW organization worked 10% as well as their plan does!

I could have also only signed up for one month which was only $18.95. They were having a free membership special. They responded back to me saying I would only receive $4.95 back because cancelling voids the free membership fee of $29.99 plus I would have had to pay for the first month. They said I could do nothing and my membership would cancel after the three months I paid for and would avoid paying the membership fee. If I would have just paid for one month at $18.95 then cancelled after the month was over I would not have been charged the membership fee and would have only been out $18.95. Being overweight is one of the hardest thing to overcome and they have clearly taken advantage of it. Find your own support group through friends, family, coworker, church family. Contact a local nutritionist and ask if she would be willing to do a group session so you all can split the cost. Also do that with a personal trainer.

Find a swimming pool, and plan your meals for the whole day before you eat anything that day. Remember water, water, water!!! If you have enough people willing to become healthy, ask your Pastor or church leader to contact some resources for the church as a whole and that will save on time & money. I recently received a letter from Joseph, Mann & Creed a Collection Agency stating they were attempting to collect a debt for Weight Watchers. I immediately reviewed my credit card statements and could not find any charge from any company that had been denied. I contacted Weight Watchers Customer service by phone and the person who helped me looked at my account and stated he could not find anything out of order. He then called and set up a phone conference with Joseph, Mann & Creed. I was told it was a bill caused by my credit card number being incorrect. This does not make sense considering Weight Watchers has been charging the same card for over 6 months and as I said, no charge has been rejected. I refused to pay immediately and have made multiple attempts to contact Weight Watchers at various email addresses on their site. I always get an automated email stating it will take us a few days to respond to your email but, never have heard anything from Weight Watchers. It has been 3 weeks since my first email to them. This is not the way customer service should be.

First, WW feels I owe them something, why have they not communicated with me about it. This is the first I am hearing of it. They send me a new membership card every month so, they have my address and could have written me. That did not happen. They send me emails every week to my private email address touting various things to try to assist with my weight loss so, they could have emailed me. That did not happen. When I signed up, I gave them my phone number at the same time I gave them my other information including the credit card they have been charging. Yet, they did not call to say we believe some money is due. I have asked the person who leads the meeting and the lady who collects money and credit card information for the items sold at meetings. Neither of them know anything. So, I'm concerned that WW would send something to collections without first contacting the customer (me) and explaining themselves.

Second, to totally ignore emails sent to them by a customer now leaves me wondering exactly what I have to do to get someone from WW to respond. Should the issue be my emails went to the wrong places, someone could have either sent them to the proper department or sent an email to me stating please send this to blah, blah. At this point WW is about to lose a customer because of its lack of respect to respond to its customer.

At this point I have informed the Collection Agency in writing I do not believe I owe the debt. Maybe now WW will respond at least to their own Collection Agency.

Last year, when they switched to the new point system, I no longer wanted to continue with Weight Watchers Online (I found the new point system far too time consuming and Lose It - a free program - was so much easier, like the old Weight Watchers). I called and the young man I spoke to was very rude saying in a very snide tone, 'Well, everyone else seems to be able to figure out how to do it quickly enough.' I told him I'd didn't appreciate being spoken to like that and that I wanted my online subscription canceled immediately. He was very huffy and said he would do so.

Today, I have been informed that they have continued to take money from my account. For over a year. When I called to complain, a customer service rep, Alice, told me they have 'no record of me calling to cancel'. I guess the young man really stuck it to me where it hurts - in my wallet! Alice would not even go into my account to see that, indeed, I had not used my account in over a year. This might have been an indication that I was telling the truth. Clearly, Weight Watchers does not care about customer service.

My big mistake was not calling back to speak to his superior to complain about his rudeness (utter lack of customer service) and then follow that conversation up with a letter stating, again, that I no longer wanted to be part of the Weight Watchers community. I then should have asked that they respond in writing to say that, yes, my account had been closed I was no longer being charged. Buyer beware!

I joined WW recently started going to the meetings. November 6th I received a letter in the mail from Joseph, Mann & Creed, a collection agency saying that WW turned me over to them. I called WW and asked the representative why I got the letter and was asked if it was from Joseph, Mann and Creed. I said yes and asked if it was a scam. He asked me to put me hold. He came back asked if I was Melvin. I said yes, but at this time I had not given any information about myself. He said it was not a scam. I asked again why I got this letter. He pulled my account then told me he did not know because my account was in order and even my past payments were great (2nd time member). I asked him to verify the last four numbers of the credit card I used when I rejoined at the meeting and he did. I told him that he needed to contact the collection agency. He stopped me and told me they don't have anything to do with it once the agency gets it I have to deal with them.

My wife who is an accountant, who does billing and collections for the firm she works with was listening and said No that is not correct you need to call the collection agency and send them the form to call the dogs off. The gentleman said they could do nothing. I asked for his supervisors name and told him that I will take care of it and told him that my wife will be calling back tomorrow. I called the collection agency and left a message for them giving them WW phone number and who I spoke with and to get in touch with them and work it out. After not hearing anything from WW or Joseph, Mann & Creed for 5 days I called WW again and spoke with another representative who basically said they couldn't do anything but did tell me that apparently it was not processed correctly at the location of the meeting. So I wanted to know if it wasn't processed correctly how is it that they have been billing me since and she didn't know but told me that everything is paid up in full and she didn't know why I would have been sent to a collection agency.

At this point I had not personally talked to anyone at Joseph, Mann & Creed and called and left a message. A representative called me and I asked if he had been in touch with WW and he said no. He just collects the money and gives it to WW. I told him they said that the account is ok and I don't owe them anything. He said that it appears that what happened is that when the card was processed it came back as invalid. I said that could not be because they have charged the card since and he proceeded to tell me that when I went online to update my profile I entered the correct card number. I stopped him and said that I never entered a card online. Everything was done at the meeting and he said that they somehow got the correct number from somewhere but basically the first month wasn't charged because it wasn't processed properly and that I needed to pay him. My wife calls WW speaks to a supervisor who contacted someone in corporate and said that they will get in touch with Joseph, Mann & Creed tomorrow and she will call back tomorrow.

I went to my meeting that night and spoke with them and they said that all they do is run the card thru the kerchunker and they mail them to be processed so it couldn't have happened there. The next day the supervisor called my wife and told her she spoke with corporate and there is nothing they are going to do about the matter and we have to pay Joseph, Mann & Creed. My wife wanted to know why if the account was in good standing and the supervisor said that actually it wasn't. She explained that when I joined the credit card did not go thru because it was processed incorrectly so we were not charged for the first month then the second month was free and we just charged him for this month. My wife asked, "How you did that if the card did not go thru the first time? How did you get the correct number to charge the card?" And she didn't have an answer. My wife asked why is it that both representatives we spoke with earlier told me that the account had no problems with it but the representative at Joseph, Mann & Creed knew what the problem was and she didn't have an answer for that either.

What really upset us both is that WW could have taken 5 minutes to call me, email me or send a letter saying that they had a problem but instead they chose to rush it off to a collection agency. Where I work I sometimes have to take cards over the phone and I do make mistakes and the card come back invalid. I call the customer back and usually it comes down to me having transposed the number but in 5 minutes I have the problem resolved. If I were to have just said, "Oh well and turned them over to a collection agency" I would be fired from my job.

WW really needs to look at how they handle their accounts more professionally. The other thing that really got to my wife was at the meeting they use what I call a kerchunker to imprint your card. You know that thing they used in the 70s and 80s that slides back and forth. You would think that a company as big as WW would have at least a smart phone card swipe adapter of some kind. So basically what it comes down to is somewhere in WW land someone made a mistake then sent me to a collection agency. WW billing representatives don't know how to do their job and corporate could care less as to how they treat their customers. I am canceling my subscription and will go to my next meeting to tell all how I was treated and will tell others I encounter who are thinking about joining. It's a real shame because I really like going to the meetings but I refuse to deal with companies that don't take responsibility when they make mistakes.

She advised me to wait 6-8 hours and try again, and I did... No luck!

I called again that night and was told everyone should be up and running by Monday and that I would receive a link for half off my monthly pass for the frustration and a full refund (the refund should only take 3-5 days). I received the link, but no refund. Since then I have called back 11 times with an average hold time of 30-40 mins. Once I get someone, I'm always told something different. The last thing I was told is it takes 10 business days to get my refund. As of today, no refund. But last night, on 10/28/13, I got an email thanking me for joining Weight Watchers... but I didn't.

I have over 12 emails between me and WW explaining I'm done with them and just want my refund. I got a call on 10/25 saying I get one month free and a full refund. I also have emails from them stating I will get my full refund, but they set me up anyway. I called and asked for a sup and "Raul" in AZ placed me on hold for 33 mins until the line cut me off b/c their office closed!! I am now filing a complaint with corporate and the BBB. I will probably never see my $42.95 again, but the time, stress and effort I've put into this is worth more than that.

I later received an email from them saying they could not process my renewal and I should go online to update my card. I replied to that email stating I wanted to cancel. Two weeks ago in Spring, Texas, the Territory manager came to our meeting and informed us that there would no longer be a Wednesday meeting. When asked why, she stated to provide a "better customer experience". Well since when is cancelling all the meetings on a particular day better for customers? She denied that Weight Watchers was cancelling the meeting to improve their bottom line. Well I may be overweight but I don't lack intelligence.

She then proceeded to hand out schedules with a coupon as if that made up for our inconvenience. Her manner was very condescending as if she was doing us a favor. All of the members at the meeting were totally disgusted. Wake up Weight Watchers! You in your fancy corporate jobs! Change your attitude! The weight watcher leaders who run the meetings are the important ones. You would not have your jobs if your leaders did not help members.

We, the members, pay for the services. Yesterday I complained and was contacted by Corporate Affairs. I was asked to furnish my phone number and told that the District Manager would call me today. I received no such call. Apparently member complaints are not a priority at Weight Watchers. I have been a leader for Weight Watchers since 2011. I live in a very small community in Northern Berkshire, Massachusetts up until last week when my territory manager who comes from Albany, New York (much larger area) decided that it was time for me to go so she fired me. She has given me nothing but attitude since she saw that I had a tattoo on my upper back after asking me to participate in a Moms and Proms Fashion Show in 2011 and she said "we don’t show tattoos in W.W." I had to go through training twice as long as anyone else. I had 2 meeting groups in Northern Berkshire and when the position became available, I took them both on. One leader quit because she was just sick of working such an all consuming job for minimum wage and the other got a full time job elsewhere.

Yes we make peanuts. Weight Watchers preys on the fact that we love and believe in the program. The manager came to my meeting one Monday night and said I didn't fit the "role" of a Weight Watchers and fired me after 2 years. This created an outrage from my members as I was replaced by a leader who insulted my entire group by speaking to them as if they were her kindergarten class. They walked out and contacted me for information on how to contact someone to send in letters. I am a great leader (was) and these people are very upset. This is where the problem lies. Huge companies do not make it easy to file complaints and in this case, there are a lot and believe me this is only a small part of this.

Weight Watchers expects the same member attendance in small areas as big cities and that’s how we, the leaders get rated. If you don’t stay, you don’t matter even though you are paying your 50+ dollars a month not to mention the ridiculously high cost of products. Anyhow there is no reason for this other than moving me out so the teachers little pet will have a spot. No reasons given other than I don’t fit the "role" and an angry e-mail which wasn't angry at all (I have a copy). So think twice before joining because you’re not just getting a weight loss program, you’re dealing with another corporate American company and they don’t give a rats ** about you. Just read the other reviews before you decide either as a member or staff.

Don't walk to your CC company and block (and I mean block in capital letters) them - calls to the WW service center will get you only a runaround about cancellation numbers and missed dates for cancelling, plus another charge the next month. She tried the service and after few weeks, she was just so frustrated with the interface that she stopped using it. They offer tech help if you need it, but she didn't want to. I did not know all of this until in August, I received an email stating that there was a pending PayPal payment, so I quickly tried to stop it, but it went through anyway. So, I logged in to the Weight Watchers account (henceforth referred to as WW) and followed the steps to cancel the account. I thought everything was fine, I was going to call and get a refund, but never got around to it.

In September, I got the same email, PayPal paid them again! I again went to the website, nothing looked like it was cancelled and I thought maybe I did something wrong last month. So, I went through the process again. I am an IT professional. I am always starting and stopping services, some pay and some free and I know what I am doing. Sure enough, I got the "successful cancellation" screen. I never contacted them and just let it go. Then in October (tired of this aren't we?), I got another email from PayPal that said they charged the account again!

I contacted customer service and after a long back and forth, they said that they had no record of cancellation (duh!) and the most they would refund would be $18.95 because that is all they are authorized to refund. I had asked for all three months at this point, I was furious and told them that I will follow this up as long as it takes. I know I am not the only one who is being treated like this and it is a big money maker for them if it is nearly impossible to cancel their service.

The email correspondence from the beginning clearly shows that the CSRs are not even reading what I am telling them. They can check the logins and see that the times that I logged in correspond to what I am telling them, even if they don't have a confirmed cancellation in their system, but they did not want to provide customer service, only protect the company’s assets, ill-gotten as they were. I hope someone starts a lawsuit, because if so, I'm in! I signed up for WW in January of 2011 for the three-month deal. I also did not know they had apparent "fine print" that said they would keep charging after three months. About 9 months later, I realized this (I admit, I don't check through my transaction history too often on my one credit card - lesson learned) and proceeded to call WW. I had to fight for them to remove 6 months of the prior withdrawals - still leaving me to pay the remaining months that I didn't realize I was being charged. "Fine, whatever, I'll chalk it up to my own negligence," I thought. But, from then on, I assumed they had done what they said they would - cancel the account and refund my account for 6 months. Stupid me never checked again until now - almost 9 months after the initial cancellation call at the beginning of 2012.

I happen to glance at my credit card transactions and I about flipped out when I saw WW was still taking $17.95 out every month. I could not fathom how I went through an entire phone call with them, remember getting a confirmation number (which stupidly, don't know if I'll ever find), yet they never canceled it. Better yet, when I called them yesterday, they have "no" record on my account of me calling or cancelling... nothing. Alright - how is this possible? Do I need to get my phone bill out to prove I called them? Then I again had to fight for 6 months back. This would be all fine and dandy if I had gotten the previous 6 months back when I thought they had canceled it the first time. Now, all I've got is 6 months refunded and I guess I get to cry over the almost year of $17.95 charges they've ripped me out of.

They claim they can only go 6 months back. I don't, this is possible for legal purposes. I'm thinking about calling back and getting a little more demanding. In the meantime, I'm going to try to find a paper trail. What a joke! I hope this company gets socked with a few million dollar suit to pay back the money they have stolen from people. Never again.

I tried earlier this morning to join Weight Watchers Online. The site stated that my credit card was not approved for unknown reasons. Yet my bank account is debited six times for the transaction! My bank told me that I simply needed Weight Watchers to send a fax stating that the charges were in error. I was lied to by a CS agent who told me that she'd faxed it over to my bank and had received a confirmation. My bank never received the statement. When I called WW back, the CS manager, who was tragically inarticulate, told me that those statements are not faxed from that office to the bank, that they were faxed to the WW corporate office and the corporate office would contact my bank after 2 days. What the **?! I need my money back right now and I will seek legal representation. Looking through these posts, it appears that mine is not an isolated case by far. This sounds like the makings of a class-action lawsuit!

I never received any email messages or phone messages from support. I called to cancel my subscription and was told that their policy is to not give refunds, and since I was into my 2nd month, they would refund the 3rd month as a courtesy. I have never been able to use the system on my computer! The manager of customer support told me they had called me several times and sent me an email, but apparently, nobody left a message with a number to call back, and I never received email from Weight Watchers except for sales pitches. In the end, I got them to give me two months refund, but it took over an hour and I still never used the system for that first month.

I was billed for 2 months after my initial payment for three months. WW billed at least 1 week prior to the first day of the month. When I studied my statement and realized I was being automatically billed, I called a rep to complain. The rep indicated they are allowed to remove one month’s billing (this apparently happens a great deal), but refused to remove the other month. This is quite a scam and I would not recommend WW to anyone.

My experience resembles that of Cindie of Locust Valley, NY on 2/23/11. I paid for a 3-month program for my son as an application on iPhone. He tried it for a week and thought it was useless. Since it was my money, he didn't bother trying to get a refund (which, based on other chat, wouldn't have been a lot anyway). I was shocked to see a monthly charge for 4/14/12 on my charge statement generated on 5/10. I called Weight Watchers on 5/13 and told them same story that I hadn't used it and wanted the 4/14 charge credited and future charges stopped. I understood that would happen.

The credit showed up on 5/16, but so did another charge on 5/14. Weight Watchers' customer service insisted that the terms of engagement were clearly and boldly disclosed and that the only thing they could credit for was future charges and there's no refund for "past" charges. I then escalated it to a supervisor, and it was very clear they weren't going to do anything. I also share the sentiment that the process is misleading and deceptive. However, I am not sure if there are enough $18.95 unknowingly authorized charges nationwide to support a class action lawsuit. The credit card companies have got better things to do than dispute this questionable conduct of business.

Thereafter, I called customer service and they were willing to reimburse me for 1 month's charge and I was told that I was supposed to send in a cancel request at the end of the 3-month period. This is a hoax to swindle people out of their money in hopes that the consumer will not go through the trouble of bringing legal action to fight it. It would be interesting to know how often a consumer was unaware that this would happen and how much money WW brings in from such unethical practices. The opportunity to join Weight Watchers was a light at the end of the tunnel. When I received my letter and information package from Weight Watchers, it included 26 weeks of prepaid coupons. These are to be turned in each week at the meetings. Then comes the glitch, no e-tools. So now I have an opportunity to help myself, but not all the tools to work with. I was told by the Weight Watchers W/C office that I could sign up online, pay for it myself and then ask W/C to reimburse me. Funny! W/C is already a battle. I would have to contact my attorney to contact W/C to get approval for them to reimburse me and one month later, I might have an answer.

So I ask you, why, if Weight Watchers has been prepaid for 6 months of service (26 weekly meetings), why isn't e-tools included? It's advertised that way. Why wasn't it included in the cost billed to W/C? This system needs to be seriously reevaluated. Bottom line, you have people who are overweight, injured and already frustrated, so let's make this even harder and only give them half the services they need to be successful. I started Weight Watchers in October 2011 for two reasons, the first was to lose a stone in weight, as even though I am reasonably fit, I was still carrying extra weight and have done all my life. The second reason was that all the ladies that come to my classes and to the Leisure Centre that I work in are constantly talking about weight loss and food and asking my advice. Therefore, I felt the need to become more aware of weight loss groups such as Weight watchers.

Since I started, I have lost 10 lbs and am absolutely over the moon with the results and the plan and am constantly talking about it to my classes, as they all have noticed my weight loss. I have been doing WW on line via the UK since Christmas, as the only class near me, is at the same time as a class I take.

After a morning of constantly talking about weight and food at work, I rang Weight Watchers Ireland to inquire about becoming a leader. I spoke to Theresa at WW Ireland. I was very fired up and enthusiastic. So imagine my total disappointment, when Therese told me that, as I hadn't lost all my weight through WW Ireland that it didn't count! I was angry, hurt, disappointed and a host of other emotions as I have become a true fan of Weight Watchers and truly believed I could become a good leader and help others in their quest to lose weight.

Your web site just asks if you have reached goal. It doesn't say anything about how or who with, though obviously it has to be a Weight Watchers group somewhere. Therese was so negative I was shocked at how someone like myself, who has plenty of experience of working with groups and has the potential to be a good leader and help a lot of people, in their quest to lose weight has been dismissed so negatively.

On the Internet Weight Watchers Online advertised a waiver of the $29.95 signup fee if one signed up for a 3-month Weight Watchers Online subscription by the deadline of August 6, 2011. I went online in the evening of Aug. 6th and signed up for the deal, giving my credit card to pay for the 3-month subscription. When I then sought that evening to log into the WWO Web site to begin working with the program, I was not allowed into the site. I discovered that the log-on page to which I was being automatically directed to was actually a log-on to WWO via Facebook! I found a regular WWO log-on page and tried again, still without success to log on. I then located contact information on the Web site (available to anyone) and, without ever logging on, I sent an email message alerting WWO with the problem.

Next morning, I tried again to log in at the regular log-on page, still without success. In my email were (1) an automated acknowledgement of my email complaint and (2) a personalized note from "Daisy" in customer service in New York, NY. I was told their database had no record of me and was asked for confirming information to identify my registration materials. There was, fortunately, no request for entire credit card numbers or for any other inappropriate identifying information. Still, by this time, I had gone online and googled "weight watchers online complaints," where I found this Web site, with many complaints, and several others with similar complaints, including some that were very much like mine - unable to log in after signing up.

I called my bank and was advised in very strong terms to protect my credit security by canceling my card. My bank is a major nationwide bank, and when I spoke to the regular customer service person and mentioned my concern was regarding Weight Watchers, she immediately said she would forward me to their Fraud Department. I spoke with two different people there, describing the complaints I was looking at online, and they both reported that they often had to deal with bank customers who were having trouble with Weight Watchers that echoed the trouble reported in the online complaints I was seeing.

I canceled my card before WeightWatchers tried to charge any fees. However, I did so after hearing the bank's Fraud Department employees confirm that they had dealt with many instances of bank customers having no luck getting refunds after cancelling or of customers trying to cancel (and thinking they had cancelled), but still getting charged month after month with no ability to recover their money. The only way to stop the charges was to cancel.

I attended a meeting on 3/14/11 and signed up for their monthly program ($39.95). Within 3 weeks of signing up I contacted WW to cancel my subscription. Then they charged me another $39.95. I have repeatedly asked WW to credit my account as I only attended one meeting. I will eat the first $39.95 but not the second charge as I cancelled my subscription within 3 weeks of joining.

My non-attendance would be reflected in their stats but I'm told they have no control over the charge as they do not track attendance. I know WW tracks attendance because I have received "where have you been, please come back" post cards. SOMEONE tracks attendance as we have to sign in every week. I have to wonder how much money WW makes with this business practice. It is unseemingly at best and needs to be changed. WW has stolen $39.95 from me and refuses to give it back. I want it back.

I joined Weight Watchers and signed up for automatic debit paid monthly. First it came out at different times of the month; then they finally got that straightened out. Of course, they want their payments on time! When I went to cancel my payment transaction and subscription I called them and waited on hold for 10 minutes just to get to customer service. I was told by customer service that they could not refund my money until I received my monthly pass in the mail, which could take 7 to 10 days to get. After that wait I then have to mail the monthly pass back to them in New York where it will take an additional 4 to 6 weeks before my money is refunded. I asked to talk to a supervisor and he told me it was their policy and they wouldn't do anything for me either. It was never explained to me when I signed up. Gee, I wonder why?

I signed my daughter and myself up for a 3-month trial for Weight Watchers' online program. Upon checking my credit card statement, it appears that I continued to be charged for an additional six months. When I spoke with the company, it seems that hidden in the boilerplate is a statement that if the subscription is not cancelled it will continue forever forward.

Please tell me how a finite 3-month subscription does not end after 3 months unless you take action? This is the epitome of deceptive online practices. Very unbecoming of a trusted organization such as weigh watchers.

The customer service department of Weight Watchers can do nothing, saying the terms were stated on the website. I did not see it. I am a lawyer and a careful reader. We are talking fine print. Shocking, deceptive practice. Why consumer protection laws exist? Over $200 in unauthorized charges. I have disputed with my credit card. I resent that WW would not take care of this directly.

I thought long and hard before deciding to invest $55 to join Weight Watchers online. I thought I would get all of the information I needed online to do this diet successfully. After signing up for the 3 months for the $55 special and logging into the website, I realized that I would have to invest even more money to buy the tools to truly be successful at this diet.

Investing more money was not what I bargained for, so I immediately notified Weight Watchers that I wanted to cancel. Their response was to refund $7.10.

I feel like I should have been given a full refund since I joined and canceled all within a couple of hours. The only way to even take a look at the diet plan is to invest money. Then, if you don't like what you see, too bad!

I signed up for a special three-month trial. I only logged in twice before realizing the website was confusing and not very helpful. I never gave it another thought until my husband asked me why we had been charged for the last 9 months for Weight Watchers on our credit card bill. I missed the fine print (assuming it was there) that stated I would be charged every month unless I cancelled. I called mid-September and asked to be cancelled and was promised that I would not be charged for September. I then asked to speak to a supervisor regarding a refund on the previous 9 months. A supervisor called me back the next day to inform me that the most they could refund was 3 months. When I received the October credit card bill, they did credit me for 3 months but charged me for September.

When I called to complain, all I they would say was that the 3-month refund included September. They gave me a fax number for customer service (claiming they had no telephone number). I wrote a long complaint demanding at least to have September refunded. The fax number they gave me never answered after trying all day. I might add that the monthly charge was more than the initial rate. They charged me $17.95 per month for almost a year for nothing. I call that fraud.

What happened to fair and equal job opportunity. I think it's discrimination and should be dealt with. Basically, I can't work there unless I'm a Weight Watchers member.

Why didn't they ask me if I wanted to buy more time? The website is difficult to navigate especially if you don't visit it often. There is no phone number to call for assistance.

I went to a weight watcher's meeting an was advised I would be billed for the first month. I've only attended the meeting twice as I find the program not useful.

I have been informed that I could only cancel by phone, email or in writing. On 11/07/2010, I have asked WW to cancel my subscription. I have not had a response and I have been charged for the second month only 8 days after the first payment. It is funny how I was able to sign with a live person to join, but now my only option is to call or go online to cancel, yet no one response. Trying to get a hold of your customer service is very difficult. I find that it is very easy for WW to take my money but when I ask for the subscription to be cancelled, it is not acknowledged.

WW still continued to charge my credit card after that until June 23, 2010. Their website is so confusing especially if you are trying to cancel membership, like it was designed to confuse. There should be a class action suit against them. I am the sole wage earner and $39.95 a month makes a big difference in our budget.

I signed up for the 3 month pre-paid plan with a free sign up etc. I used the online service for 10 days. It was such a hassle to log on because I have a MAC, and use Google chrome as my browser - which is not WW online friendly. I found the site to be dull and the information regarding the points was basic information anyone can get. Long story short - the website was not for me. I canceled the membership 10 days later and requested my refund which was $5. I was confused, because they said the membership sign up fee was free and were now charging me for that. Plus, my monthly fee was inflated. This is not something that is disclosed in plain text when you sign up!

I tried to get a refund through my 2 form of payments and they were both denied because they did not fall into any specific category. I tried to reason with WW but they became increasingly rude. I think the online site is a scam and WW is only out for money! I will never recommend them to anyone, no matter how great the diet is! How do you take someone's money and not honor your product? They know the site is dull and filled with basic information and that is why they have this terrible return policy. They have spent a great amount of time perfecting this policy so that it is impossible to get your money back, let alone the time trying! I think they should be sued for bad business practice. Sign me up for that!

My sister in-law and I decided to join the online weight watchers thinking we would have the same flyers and info as in the meetings. I signed up online (thank God she waited) and paid for the three months equaling 53 and some odd change. Two days later my daughter had a seizure and was hospitalized for two days. Thinking I would get my money back minus the two days of service, I canceled my account. I didn’t have the time or money to log on everyday. Like others, my refund after two days was 5 dollars and odd change. Pretty much told me, “Sorry, you lose.” Wanting the service I paid for, I asked to resume and once again, “Sorry, we can’t resume once canceled.” So I pretty much gave them money for free. The money that I paid for nothing could have been used for the medication deductible for my daughter’s emergency seizure medication, for helping people they sure did not now. I can’t trust any business.

I signed up for Weight Watcher's monthly pass and was billed for the first month. I lost my card and, just to be safe, withdrew my remaining balance in case it had been stolen. I knew I had a charge coming, but it was 15 days away, and I figured I'd replace the money before then. Then I was billed for the second month, only 15 days after the first payment, without having been told that was the policy. The first three billing FAQs on the website is regarding this issue, so it's not as if they're unaware of the situation. This is a known problem yet there is no transparency. I over drafted by more than $20 and will have to pay a hefty fine from my bank.

It said that I would get $5.95 credit. I paid for three months. That's crazy. I feel it's cheating, by making it seem easy to pay online, and taking three months in advance. If I don't get all my money back, then it's fraud, on their part.

I purchased the Monthly Pass option (prepay for month ahead) to save money; out of numerous meeting days/times, I can only attend Thursdays. Thanksgiving '09 fell on Thursday, and Corporate says no credit given as I could attend other days. Same thing will happen Christmas Eve '09, so I will end up "eating" 2 weeks of my hard-earned money while cash paying members don't lose a penny by not attending when a meeting is not going to be held.

I signed up for Weight Watchers on June 25, 2009. I understood the cancellation policy and that I would have to wait for another billing cycle in order to have my account completely cancelled. My card says "valid until 11/24/09." I feel this date is ambiguous because I would think that since I opened my acct. on 6/25/00, my acct. would not close until the end of the day on 11/24/09 since I paid the monthly fee of $39.95. But instead, my acct. and ability to use my online tools actually turned off on 11/23/09, I am assuming at midnight, because I was unable to access my tools in the early morning hours of 11/24/09. This is stealing one day of paid services from the consumer. I also asked twice for a contact phone number so I can address this issue via the phone, but the online customer service rep, "Tareq", said that I would have to continue online. I again rephrased my question to have it be addressed, but now I am being ignored by the rep altogether. He/She did not answer the question I presented and only said, "thank you," for using WW.

I feel the ability to cancel WW is made extremely difficult on purpose. They processed the fee from my acct. so far ahead of time that in order to keep things simple on my end. I felt I had to just pay the extra month, which is quite a bit of money when you are not using the program. My fee was $39.95/month. And yes, this is a lot of money and it should be illegal to make people pay either in their personal time and hassle or hard-earned cash. I made the choice to pay the extra month, because I did not have time to go through the hoops and had a gut feeling that this company, which used to be a good company, would make it as hard as possible to quit my acct. Just looking into what others have written about trying to cancel proves that. If I had had any idea that WW had lost that friendly customer service part of their organization, I would never have signed up in the first place. I hope that legally WW will have to pay all of those they took advantage of.
