Lexington Law agreed with my assessment and fully resolved my issues by not billing me.
Original Review: April 21, 2015
I had called in to ask some general questions on cost and how the whole thing worked. Naturally the representative persistently asked for my credit card number. I informed him that I did not have a valid card at this time as I was in the process of exchanging banks. I also told him I was not interested in paying 100 dollars a month. He told me that if I had a card with zero balance, or a prepaid Visa card that I could use that for the initial 10 dollar fee or whatever that amount was. He said that I could then determine whether or not they would be able to help me.
I repeated to him that I had canceled my card recently because I was in the process of switching banks. He then told me that it could be used anyway, and that it was just to have something on file to go to the next step. So I gave him the number to my cancelled debit card, and it apparently "worked" as he said. After replying yes to text messages I was good to go. I received notifications saying they sent out letters. I assumed that would stop when they realized I had never paid them a cent as my card never was charged because it was cancelled before I even "signed up". They kept contacting me so I answered and informed them that I am not interested in paying 100 dollars for what is basically a leap of faith. The representative informed me that I am still on the hook for $119.00.

I was told that they could help me with three 30 day late payments on my credit report. I was a victim of Mail Fraud at my local post office. This Law Firm tried to coach me into making false statements to help fix the 3 minor items. They asked me to allow them to write letters and put wording in it like "The 3 incidents were related to a divorce," which was not true. I terminated the service because I did not want to give false statements. They told me that the bank drafts would stop and that I was paid up. The next day, I noticed another payment pending. When the employees of a law firm ask you to lie, you need to find another law firm. The letters they wrote resulted in 2 accounts being locked.

Don't waste your money. They convinced ME to sign up for a family account and have my daughter's credit monitored/improved as well. They charged me 99 dollars monthly per person to MY credit card. They did nothing but send a few letters which did next to no good. After about 6 months of this I called and requested cancellation of all my services. After another month I noticed that they continued billing for my daughter's service. (They failed to mention that she needs to speak to them personally when I made the cancellation.) Very convenient... an easy extra 99 bucks they made just by being deceptive and negligent. And for doing totally NOTHING. Totally unethical business.

I hired Lexington Law beginning in the summer of 2014 to assist with my credit repair. I kept receiving alerts from the firm noting items had been removed from my report. I was thrilled at the thought of progress being made. I knew my credit wasn't perfect, but I was making great strides with the assistance of Lexington Law. Then, I went to my bank to discuss a small loan. I was blind-sided by what they told me. No improvement had been made to my credit report or score. I paid $99/month for their service, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

After speaking with 2 different people, the first guy talking so fast and and the next one who is suppose to be the paralegal, after trying to access our credit report, they were unable to do so. I kindly explained to the lady that I would get the information, however it may take a few days due to me having to work, i.e. the reason I chose to hire them instead. I know how to do this work, I just don't have the time to write letter after letter and making sure they are sent off properly via the Postal Service. So I asked the young lady to allow me to cancel and I would call back. So she sends me to Customer Loyalty Rep ** who was overly rude, told me my husband had just used the service and cancelled.
After 45 min of talking to her and explaining that he had not used the service in February, she realized that this was in 2011. Now she wants to apologize, asked for a refund, she declined, even though they had not proceeded to even start assessing my information and had only worked with my husband. She was very rude, however I asked for confirmation email which she did send and I was sure to keep her on the line until I received it. I will never ever use their services, they have no value for customers at all. Wish I had of taken heed to the complaints but chose to see for myself. Well guess I have found out now.
No Thanks Lexington, top rated or not, your customer service sucks and you want to take money. I have my confirmation, I just hope they don't try and steal my money out of my bank account. Might just cancel my debit card to be safe. Oh yea, this is the rep I spoke with whom I asked her name and she tells me it is ** only, **, and I don't know how they will know who you talked to. Well **, I have your information and now I will post it so others will know how rude you were and how you were of no help at all. And I still have not gotten a refund or my credit report they claimed I paid for, however the report was free of charge on TransUnion and I never got a chance to speak with anyone about myself because my husband was first. And they still charged me 12.99. Sincerely, Disgruntled, Angry customer. **, Paralegal Team, Lexington Law Firm, 800-341-8441.

This company is a total scam! I paid them $100 per month for almost 6 months and nothing was done for my credit despite the fact that I had the paperwork to prove my case. They didn't even ask me for this paperwork even though I told them I had it on file. After everything, they charged me an extra month after I cancelled because they said that they work a month out. I would never use this company and would suggest that you don't use them either. Find someone local that you can go and talk to about your credit, you'll end up paying less and actually getting help.

I can only tell you what happened to me after I started using Lexington Law. I joined them and started paying them a little bit less than $100 a month. My credit score started going down every month. After 5 months of service I stopped playing. After you join and pay your first month’s service that's when they tell you all about it. They tell you the two largest items cause the most damage to your credit is your credit to debt ratio of your credit cards which you are responsible for and the derogatory statements that they are responsible for distributing.
What they do not tell you is each derogatory statement on your credit report - three derogatory statements to Lexington Law. If you have 20 derogatory statements on your record, they count it as 60. Each credit Bureau is counted as one each. Tell you, they only do a small percentage each month and they never do all 3 bureaus at one time for a derogatory statement. Other words, it will take them 3 months to get 1 derogatory statement off all three credit bureaus.
After my score started to go down I questioned them. They said it’s my fault. They said my credit to debt ratios on my credit cards was too high. They said it was my fault. Yet I did not do anything to create that. I had looked closer and found out that my credit card companies, after Lexington Law disputed their claim, had lowered my borrowing ceiling. Therefore my debt to borrowing ratio was much worse because Lexington law made them mad and they lowered my limit. They made it look like I spent more. When I didn't spend a dime. It is a scam - do not use them. I will explain this to anyone. Their lawyer called me and offered my money back to not say anything. I didn't cash the check. I am a regular person. My rating is 602.

I called to ask a few questions and was on the phone for about 25 minutes, trying to ask any and every question that came to mind. The representative kept pushing me to sign up today and they will push the payment out and if I was not satisfied, then I could cancel and not be charged when it came time for the monthly billing. Well, I told him I had to think about it and he got real short with me and hung up. So I have not even had a chance to do business with this company and they have already given me not so customer friendly service. I was not planning on pulling out my credit card just on a call to get some information.

I am highly disappointed with Lexington law. After spending a year with them and paying top dollar for service. I go to contact someone to direct me how to get a home loan. He says first I need to get the dispute marks off my credit. 2nd, pull my credit report but cuz Lexington did not remove not one thing. All I wanted was to fix my big mistake, looks like I made another one.

I have been a customer of Lexington Law since October 2014. Since then, I have had 4 negative removals from each of the 3 bureaus. That is 12 removals out of about 44 negative items, so in 4 months I have cleaned up 27% of my bad debt. They gave me the first month half off, so very generously, and I pay $50 a month for their basic service, so I have only invested a little over $200 to have 12 removals and see my credit score jump about 60 points. It is working so well I am considering bumping up to their higher levels of service. Some people are very impatient, you need to realize that these things take time.
I did not have any bankruptcy, repossessions, or foreclosures on my credit, keep in mind these are very difficult to remove. Mine are all credit card debt and medical bills. The medical bills seem to be the quickest to come off. They have not been successful in taking off my late car payments yet, but we will see. So far I feel the work done was worth my money.
Seriously, one of the best things about Lexington is their customer service and their convenience. They are available until late evening hours and even on Saturdays. I have NEVER waited on hold more than a couple minutes, and I call a lot to check up on my case. I love that I can just go online and instant message them if I have a quick question. Their live chat is so convenient. I have always come in contact with very helpful and courteous paralegals. The reason why I went with Lexington was because when I compared them with other similar services, the paralegals at Lexington were nice and intelligent. They are SO professional.
I have had a bad experience with another company called Credit CRB who were awful and made several mistakes. Lexington's staff is knowledgeable and actually know what they are talking about. I will be sticking with them until there is nothing more they can help me with, and I have recommended them to all my friends and family.

I was with Lexington for almost a year now. My credit score has actually dropped since I started with them. They show it on their web site as much higher than the credit bureaus. I feel I was deceived and would not recommend them to anyone. When I tried to cancel, they kept trying to upsell me and told me there was a lot more that they could do for me. So why didn't they do it in the year I was paying them top dollar to help me? Then told me I have to pay another month's fees just to cancel. They are not worth your time and money. Big mistake.

What a joke. Do not waste your hard earned money or valuable time. There is no directing attorney that you will ever be able to talk to, period.... If time is of the essence, or you do not understand the process, do not hire this law firm. They do not perform until you complain. And then when you do complain they take their sweet time because they have your credit card on a monthly basis.

I have to say, Lexington Law was a good thing for me at the time. My credit was not that great and something major had to be done. They had come through with what they said they would do BUT it took over a year to get this done. I got the feeling that they were milking me for $99 a month and with no effect to my credit and about the time i was done with paying for no results, i seen improvement. But everyone needs to keep in mind that your credit is based on length of history and removing all past account bad or not, it leaves you in the same boat from bad credit history (not good) to no credit history (also not good). Everyone needs to be aware of what they are trying to achieve and just because all the bad is removed, doesn't make your score 780. Good luck to all!

Please don't be fooled or scammed by this outfit. They tell you there are attorneys and paralegals working there to assist and help you to remove negative credit information from your credit reports and histories. I had signed up and was anticipating since this was a legal firm and this was their only area of practice they were experts in this field of correcting problems and removing negative items from a consumers credit reports.
I myself am not an attorney, however I am well-schooled and knowledgeable how the credit bureaus work and operate. I had called and inquired about do they address all 4 credit bureaus and problems associated with them. The imbecile on the other end of the phone says to me, "Yes, we cover all 3, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion as there are only 3 and not 4". I replied, "Well what about the silent giant the 4th one called Innovis...?" The imbecile replied, "Innovis, never heard of it and I do not know what you are talking about." I said professionally, "Thank you for your time and have a pleasant day".
When I hung up the phone, I said to myself, "I am a consumer and I know of this 4 credit bureau named Innovis and a Law firm named Lexington Law does not have any idea what I am talking about...?" I knew right then and there I was not dealing with any attorneys or paralegals, as if I was then they would know of what I was speaking of immediately".
I called back the next day and requested an immediate refund and my request was denied, in turn the next day I sent them an email informing them that if they do not refund my money immediately I will contact the State's Attorney General’s Office and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and file multiple complaints and call my private attorney and have him start immediate legal action on filing a lawsuit against Lexington Law. I had my money back the next day credited back to my debit card I used when I had originally signed up. Folks, do yourself a favor. Do not use this outfit as if you do, you will be burned and burned for sure. Regards and thank you.

When I first signed up for L.L. I put a priority on an old bankruptcy and it is the last thing they are working on with little results. I keep receiving letters from the bureaus saying that this will not be investigated any further yet I keep getting challenge letters to get notarized which I have, then wait another 30 to 60 days for a response. I have had 11 items removed but like other people have said their services come to a halt after paying anywhere from 5 to 600 dollars. And yes the emails that they send you are bull. I have talked to some nice people from there but as far as services on a timely matter, not real pleased.

I contacted Lexington Law 10 days before my bill due date and advised my boyfriend and I could no longer afford the service - they stated I could not cancel when I advised I needed to speak to a supervisor or I would simply cancel my debit card. The rep placed me on hold and came back and said they would help me out and cancel my service and not bill my card any further. I verified they would not be billing my card effective the January payment, she verified this then she also verified this with my boyfriend who has an account billed to my account. They did bill my card 2x $99.95 over drafted my account which will cause an overdraft fee. I cannot buy groceries for my family and my gas payment arrangement will now bounce and my heat will be shut off. I have referred six friends to them and have came into work and told all of them and they are all cancelling their accounts as well as debit cards.
Now that I read the reviews for Lexington Law I am sorry I ever dealt with this company. I will be filing complaints with the BBB and the attorney general along with consumer affairs. I have been with Lexington Law since November 29th, 2014. I had 86 negative items, most collection accounts. And as of today roughly 6 weeks using them, they have removed 27 items and all these items have been put on my credit report within the last couple of years so these aren't accounts that were soon to be dropping off. My credit score when this all started was below 450, though it may not seem like much but my credit score jumped up 125 points across the board. I called about it and the lady (someone said her name was Grace or something like that) said I would be refunded half as promised. I said that I wanted to go ahead and cancel the subscription. She said it was taken care of. I never stated that I wanted more than one month. I had always stated from the very beginning that I only wanted one month. I was never told that I had to pay for a whole month in addition. YET, I was charged! Supposedly, the reasoning was that I was being charged for what was done the previous month. Why did I pay in advance for something to be done if I was going to be charged again after it was done? I am so disappointed in this company. Was unable to remove or change any items reported on credit reports within 180 days. I started using Lexington Law in July of 2014 to help me resolve 1 negative item on my credit report. After research in regard to my options on how to contest the negative item and with Lexington Law coming up in my online searches, I agreed to set up an account. I was billed 99.95 a month, plus a set up fee and was given little more than form letters and my credit score. When I inquired about the status of my "Case" I was informed that it would take another "More Aggressive approach" and another 30 days of waiting. I played this game with Lexington for 6 months and nothing happened on my report. Not a single thing. I wish I would have canceled sooner as the firm clearly cannot deliver on its promises of service.

I called to have 1 delinquent mishap removed. The original paralegal looked at our credit and started trying to sell us other services. I agreed to have them look at other accounts because he stated that it was reporting incorrectly and they could absolutely get it removed. Well, surprise, the paralegal did not know what he was talking about and everything was reporting correctly, he was just looking at it wrong. Then they sold me the highest cost service and did not bother to explain what it included. It included 6 challenged when we only needed the 1. He never bothered to tell me that there was a cheaper service which would be half the cost since we only had the 1 challenge. So I called and had the service reduced for my wife's account. I cancelled my service well before the billing cycle was over but they still charged me the full amount for the service that they were already overcharging me for. On top of all that, they did absolutely nothing for me. I have been with them for 2 months, and there is absolutely nothing to show for it. Don't waste your time or money with these guys.

On 12/8/2014 I received a letter to say sorry to see me leave but if I wanted them to send anything else out they would. I never answered them since I was done.
I received an email on 12/14/14 that they sent out letters and on 12/15/14 I called several times to speak to someone and when I did the Customer Service Agent said I canceled too late and never saw an email on 12/5/14 and I was going to be charged 49.95 and when I said the previous CSA said it was 24.95 she said it was a one-time courtesy last month. If I didn't want to pay 49.95 last month why would I be able to pay it this month and they said “Too bad your account has already been billed for 12/20/14.” When I asked to speak to a supervisor or attorney they were in a meeting and told me to keep trying to call back. I got RIPPED!!! By these fraudulent evil lying computerized paralegals! And that's questionable at that. They are serious legalized thieves. Please if you live on a fixed income, like myself, hang the phone up!!! My story hurts for me to even have to run through it enough to put it into words. However if it helps someone else on a fixed income or not, I have to. LL came about through me trying to find an apt, through rent.com. First co. called scoresence.com, debited my acct 29.00. Now LL debited for 12.99, 99, 99.95 twice plus 30.00 and 19.00 processing fee. My acct is now a neg 55.36, it's Christmas. I haven't bought any gift or been able to pay my electric bill. I was distraught, unable to find an honest answer for these charges. I gave them my debit card # for the initial 12.95 for LL to obtain the Experian report. AFTER that was when I'm told I would be charged 99.95 monthly. I stopped them right there, told the representative I couldn't afford that till maybe the first of the year, if possible. They deny that this conversation took place. However they are nothing more than legal thieves. They refuse to give my money back. I got a threatening call from a p.l. from LL, in Nov, because they couldn't debit my acct last mo. for the 99.95, saying I agreed to this arrangement.
I'm very upset, brokenhearted that this type of thing is going on. Lawyers at that... who better to commit a crime and get away with it. I thought stealing someone's money was a crime! I thought we had rights! I'm an American. GOD deals with thieves, John Heath. This is our temporary home (earth)... If you don't know him, may you find him soon. After reading other complaints, many at that, it seems, debiting peoples accts without proper communication (swindling) them, then insisting the whole problem lies with the customer, I plan to take this matter to the attorney general, the Better Business Bureau, and the major news venues.

They tell you, you can cancel anytime and they will improve your credit. Well, you can cancel but they will keep charging you. Also 6 months later no improvement, just a waste of $600. Make a payment arrangement with creditors, it's a lot cheaper and it works.

I signed up for Lexington Law after a referral of a friend that assured me that they got everything on his account removed. I should've have known better than to instantly sign up for a service without doing due research first. Oh well, that was my mistake. I first signed up in August of 2014 and I was so desperate to get the negative mark on my credit report removed that I signed up for the 99.95 a month plan. After 4 months of nothing happening except my inbox getting spammed (with emails letting me know that nothing was happening), I decided that I had enough. I tried to contact the lawyer in charge of the case and make a face to face meeting happen, but I kept getting screened with paralegals and phone operators. It was very frustrating. After a few weeks I finally just closed my case and called it quits. It sucks that I'm out almost 600 dollars, when that 600 dollars could have gone towards actually fixing my credit.

I input my information into The Lending Tree trying to get refinancing for my home. They did not offer any financial solutions but recommended credit repair and I was contacted by Lexington Law firm. The first gentleman I spoke with explained how they could help me wipe out the bad marks on my credit and then requested money to run my reports. This was only after considerable convincing on his part wherein he assured me that once he ran my report, he would stay on the phone with me and go over each item. As soon as he ran my report, however, he stated he was transferring me to a paralegal. I begged to differ as he had just promised to stay with me to go over the report, but he told me he was sorry and if I needed to speak with him again, here was his number and extension then I was promptly transferred to a paralegal. The paralegal told me of four minor blemishes on my report. They were under collection service names and she was unable to tell me the original creditors names. She said we would have to now order the Experian report.
We attempted to do so but she said it would not let us in to get the report. She then asked what method would I prefer for them to use in seeking to have these debts removed and ask if they were my debts or the result of identity theft. I explained it is impossible to determine without knowing who the original creditors are. Finally she said I should go to Experian and try to download that report myself. Ok, I said, "so you just charged me money for my annual free credit reports and now I'm to download experians myself." I could have done all of this at zero costs myself but now they had used up my annual free reports which I did not have and they did have. Great. I kept asking questions to determine exactly what they do with the service they offer. They had lied to me once already, charged me $12.99 for free reports, and then they wanted to give me five days to think things over, giving me a chance to cancel before they charge me $95.00 for their "aggressive plan".
This plan, they explained, meant that around ten days after billing me the $95.00 they would send out verification letters to the creditors on my report. Therefore, ten days would have been completely used up before anything at all was done on my behalf. The creditors had thirty days from the day the letters were received to respond with verification of the debts. By that point, payment number two for $95 would be deducted from my credit card. If the creditors failed to furnish complete and accurate information, Lexington would then seek to have the items removed. I am fairly certain this process would entail another thirty days. Then, the paralegal explained, after having possible success removing the blemishes from my credit report, they would continue to work with me on how to build my credit by adding debtors whom I would be able to establish credit with; that removing debts would not give me a good credit standing.
This tells me that Lexington clearly swindled me on the charge made for my free credit reports, $12.99, and further intended on pocketing another $95.00 for letters to my creditors for one month, and God only knows how much for unstated future actions to wipe off some minor debts. Following this, they explained it would be necessary for me to build credit (with their help). I could pay off all the debts to my creditors and build credit if I had the funds to do so. I don't pay my bills late because I am lazy and procrastinate! I pay them late because I don't have the money to pay them now. It makes perfect sense to incur a grand of debt to Lexington Law for their help, in my situation...NOT!
This firm charged me $12.99 for my free annual credit reports, but only got two out of three. They kindly offered to forward the two credit reports they had successfully obtained but did not offer to refund the $12.99 they charged me (and I did ask for a refund). Further, I regret fully being convinced to hand over to this entity all of my personal information required for their bogus help, such as my full name, address, social security number, phone number, email address, credit card number and security code thereon.
Although Lexington may actually offer a valid service to some, it is certainly not helping people like myself who are barely making it from day to day. I do have the names of those I spoke to acting as representatives for Lexington Law, but certainly don't feel they need to be punished for their roles in this. The deceit is led by the employer.

Instead, the second billing period we were charged the full price, almost $200! If I could afford to pay that much, then I'd just start paying stuff off my credit. Not to mention, they are taking their sweet time in getting letters out to creditors and then they say they have to wait 30 days to hear a response. I would NOT recommend this "service" to anyone! I was satisfied with the progress that was being made but then there was a problem with the payment arrangement. I was told that my due date was the 26th of every month but payments were being processed at the beginning of the month. I opened my case in September. The first payment was processed on October 11th and $99.95 was taken. Then another payment was processed on the 6th of November. A late fee had to be added due to funds not being in my account but the paralegal was telling me that was for October and not November so it made me think they were trying to get extra money. So I told her to close my case.

I have been with LL for about 5-6 months. I must say that they removed several items from my 3 credit reports and they did it pretty fast. Now after the initial progress everything came down to a halt and progress stopped completely. I'm certain that I was overcharged based on the agreement on the phone, but I'm ok with that as the things they got removed were worth it to me. The main reason I give them 3 stars is because it is obvious that the initial accomplishment was the realistic result of the effort and they should advise inform their clients about it. Here is a mind boggling idea... be upfront and make more money. Reputation is the best advertisement.
How about they adjust their program and have a plan where the first 3 months are at a full rate and then recognizing that progress will be very limited after that retain customers at a reduce rate? I would keep the service at...$25 or so knowing that they keep an eye on your credit and that they may fix a thing or two a year. They will not only retain client but will be very notorious for their honest approach. This will greatly increase their reputation thus getting more new clients... otherwise bad reviews will slowly bring down the business.

So, I accidentally (or, better say, stupidly?) signed up for more information from Lexington Law (LL) online while searching for the credit card offers opt-out page. I was immediately contacted by email, short message and phone call from LL. I was then successful unsubscribing from emails and texts, but the calls kept coming and I wasn't picking them up, thinking they'll get the idea and stop calling, but that did not happen. So, I decided to call myself to their phone number and ask to remove my phone from their call list. This is where things become interesting. First agent, after realizing that I wanted to remove my phone number from their call list, transferred me somewhere where no one got back to me. So, I called again. The second agent after another request to remove my number started making fun of me in a very insulting way and then disconnected.
The third agent transferred me again with no one coming back to me after a long hold (I believe, this is their "nice" way of dumping people who they are not making any money off of). The fourth agent (a young lady) finally took my phone number and said that she will update their system. In all, from communication with LL operators, I can say they are the most rude, insulting company I have ever dealt with. In my subjective opinion they are simply scam artists! And now I started receiving calls from unknown numbers saying I won $1m dollars... Did they sell my phone number to some internet scammers? I am pretty sure they did!

My significant other was allowed to sign me up for credit Repair Services through Lexington Law as recommended by a Loan Officer. We both signed up and were charged a special rate of $99.95 for both of us (2 for the price of 1). Payments were set up to be deducted from our checking account through EFT. After a month we decided that we could not afford for both of us to have the services so she called to cancel hers. No problem. We lowered my program from $99.95 to another limited time special offer of $59.95 per month. For the last 2-3 months nothing has been done on my account except the same form letter sent out to the same companies, one company with an undeliverable address which a copy of the envelope was sent to LL. An email was sent on 10/20/14 to cancel the service and discontinue the EFT immediately from my checking account. The payment was not due to come out for another week or so.
I contacted them on 10/30/14 when I discovered the payment was deducted and I was charged 1 $25.00 NSF fee because I had not budgeted for the cancelled payment. I was told I was being charged for services already performed. I asked "What services?" I also advised the person I was speaking to that there hasn't been any service on the account. He then state after placing me on hold and speaking with someone else that he could only reimburse part of the payment from the time of cancellation. He stated he would process it immediately. I checked my account yesterday and no reimbursement. I sent another email requesting reimbursement. I received an email today stating I would not be reimbursed at all.
Different information from different people with no accountability for their actions or information given. You only talk to so-called paralegals, never official attorneys. They act as if the money is coming out of their pocket instead of the corporation. They claim to care about people and wanting to help when all they are doing is scamming hardworking Americans. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am cancelling my Credit Karma account since they advertise for LL and recommend them highly.

Upon initial sign up with Lexington Law, I was advised that as a prior military service member my first month would be $49.95 and $99.95 thereafter for Concord service. The First month on September 30th I was billed $99.95. Today I was billed $99.95 again. I inquired online via live chat the status of the discount. To my surprise the representative advised that he would waive the first month's fee due to the error, waive this month’s late fee and draft a payment of $49.95 November 7th. Wow. They had no record of payments for my account. To get this far it took 25 minutes. I provided the representative the transaction numbers associated with the debits from my account and after several minutes of waiting he was able to locate the first payment from September 30th, but advised my payment from today was declined.
I am looking at my account and clearly the $99.95 was taken out. I requested my account be cancelled immediately and a way to submit proof the draft went through. He said it may take some time to get that information and I declined to continue. I have called in and been on the phone on hold with another representative for over a half an hour who is now going through the speech. No one can get it right until I provide transaction numbers associated with the debit.
I have been on the phone for well over an hour now and it’s so funny how the rep's story changes with more and more facts that I provide. I am certainly over this company and I have asked for everything in writing as absolutely nothing has been resolved other than my case is now closed. I cannot believe a legit company like this is supposed to be would have such terrible customer service, billing and accounting services. I thought all the information I had mailed to them had been turned over to the Credit Bureau for removal of inaccurate reporting on my credit report. Well just recently I chatted with them and ask had my letter from IRS been sent in to the bureau. The answer I got was it had been downloaded to my file if they had it. We never received the refund and on top of that our service has been canceled for 4 months now and we are STILL BEING BILLED $99.95 each month for canceled service. I signed up for credit repair on 5/29/14 after a divorce left my credit challenged. I thought I was asking all the right questions to check them out and confirm the work they do and results I would get was what I was looking for. I was told on the initial call that they send out letters aggressively and that if the creditor doesn't respond in 30 days, the negative item has to be removed from my credit report. Great, right?
Well, the letters were sent out on a drip campaign (at best). Right away, I realized they were doing this to stretch out the length of my service. I would get notices that more letters were being sent out on my behalf, but no details on what letters or how many. It seems that there was no follow up by LL and having had the service for 4 months, well beyond the initial letter's 30 days, none of these items were removed. I have had no feedback that any of the creditors replied indicating the removal would not happen, so I can only assume that they just didn't send the letters or didn't follow up with the credit bureaus for the removal. I do know some letters were sent out, as I received one in the mail, "not deliverable as addressed", with my return address spelled incorrectly, too! Not good attention to detail coming from a law firm.
Besides not following through or providing decent service; when I inquired into cancelling the service, I was told that there would be one more charge to my credit card on 10/3/14. When I disputed that, the online chat rep disconnected the chat without responding! I called the phone number and was told that I have been paying for work completed, not paying for the upcoming month's work. This is contrary to what I was told at sign up, and makes no sense. If this is true, LL charged me one fee of $99.95 for five days of work, called a set up fee, and then another $99.95 for those same 5 days for "work completed".
I kept thinking any day now I would see some of the fruits of their labor, but now...I am not sure there was much labor. I feel they are preying on people during these tough credit times, people that really don't have the money to spend on these monthly fees, but sacrifice to speed up the recovery process.

I signed up with Lexington Law In April of 2014. It is now September. I got the highest level of their service monthly which is their Concord Premier. It's all a bunch of bull. Up to this day they only removed 1 negative out of the report I have. I lost my mind on them. I tried to be patient but I'm paying monthly for them! They are full of crap! All they do is copy and paste dispute letters and sit on their **. I'm going back to Sky Blue Credit who worked so effectively for me. The only reason why I left them is because I wanted to monitor what they were doing online. ** Lexington Law, they raped me of my money. I'm working on buying a new house and the way how they were moving is slowing me down as well! STAY AWAY FROM THESE SLOW **.

I couldn't understand the emails they were sending me about the challenge letters they were sending out. Nothing made sense, nothing was adding up. My biggest credit owe wasn't even challenged because they said they do the little ones first. I asked what was cleared up and who did I owe. She couldn't give me an answer. She said once it is sent to collections they aren't able to tell who or where the bill came from. I wanted to cancel my contract and made it very clear that is what I wanted. I was put on hold and she then once again tried to get me to stay. It took all my energy to get my account cancelled and I had to actually get nasty. Then of course they took another $100 for whatever work they say they did.

We paid for Lexington Law services for about a year. Our credit rating didn't substantially improve. There were a few really old accounts that did drop off after several months of their disputes to the credit bureaus. But we hired a second company that actually called the creditors and had the accounts removed, not just sends dispute letters to the agencies reporting your credit. This company found out that one of the creditors was falsely reporting - we made payments on an account over 10 years old so they could keep it in collections. When they asked the creditor to provide proof of payment, they could not so - it had to be removed. Lexington Law didn't catch that the whole time we had them so for the biggest items we needed help with they we ineffective. They obviously don't research the actual underlying issue or this item would have been caught by them.
I called to stop my service and a man told me no, he would move me to a cheaper plan. He refused to stop my service and stop billing me. A few months later, I called back and told a lady I was tired of being charged and didn't want their service anymore. I had moved all my items to 'no dispute' so they were doing nothing for me anyway for months now. She gave me 20 questions about why I wanted to leave, I answered them then she wanted to put me on hold to check something. I told her no I didn't want any more bills from them because they are doing nothing for me and the last guy refused to close my account. When I asked to speak to a manager, she finally agreed to close my account. It's 9-23-2014 and she said I will get a bill on the 30th that I have to pay. This firm has no issue with charging you for doing nothing, I suggest you find real help and not just dispute form writers, your money will be better spent. I am now out several hundred dollars for nothing done the past few months.

I signed up with Lexington Law to remove a Dept. of Treasury delinquency that was erroneously reported. I was charged $12.99 twice to pull my credit and ended up with 3 inquiries from them pulling my credit in the first 2 days. They said they could NOT remove the extra charge and that it was NON-refundable. They also said the inquiries were not suppose to show up on my credit report but it did and was NEVER removed. The customer support service is way below par and they have specialists that will tell you something totally different. You will also not get the opportunity to speak to that agent again.

My husband and I just decided on Sept 12, 2014 (literally) and I’ve been amazed so far. I read the reviews and was a little skeptical to call and become a member, but after calling the other companies (with fees a lot higher) I decided to go ahead and take a chance (besides we could always cancel if we're not satisfied). Well, we paid the 1st fee (which is what TranUnion charge of $25 for their credit report) then the next payment of $50 was suppose to be paid on Sept 15th. After looking at my bank account I noticed that night that it hadn't come out yet, so I called. The young lady explained due to an error on their part with billing me that issued me a $50 credit and would not be billing me till Oct 15th (Blessings)!!! However, I received a text message today that 2 negative items have come off my husband credit report already! We've only been with the company 4 days! Don't let the negative of what some people are saying stop you from giving Lexington Law a chance in helping you get your credit back on track. I’ve been very satisfied with them so far, and everyone I’ve spoken to has been very friendly and helpful!

I called a company about re-consolidating credit and they advised that I didn't quite have enough credit to consolidate. In return they transferred me to Lexington Law Firm telling me that they would be able to better assist me and take care of my credit score and such. After speaking with the initial person I was told that within 24 hours I would receive a call from a paralegal. I received that call 3 days late but was unable to speak with her since I was on the road driving. I tried several times to call in to speak with someone but was on hold for several minutes and wasn't able to wait.
I was told that I would be charged $12.00 per credit report for my husband and myself, I was. Then after I spoke with the second person (which I never did) then we would decide when my monthly fee of $99.95 would begin to come out of my account. Later the same day that the woman called for our official conversation (the one I could speak with since I was driving) I was charged $49.95 that was debited from my account. At this point I had not yet chose to hire this company for any help other than to pull my credit report. Again, I tried several times to speak with someone.
I never could get through to a live person so I decided to use their chat option. I got on with a lady named Sarah. I made it clear that I wanted my $49.95 refunded to my account since I never hired them. She told me she showed that it declined and was never take out. Clearly, on the other screen I was looking at my checking account and saw that it came out....... I know they saw it too. After she apologized for the inconvenience she closed our chat before I could respond. And completely closed my account with Lexington Law. If that's not fishy I don't know what would be. I do not recommend even starting a conversation with this company.

I found myself in an emergency where I needed to get financed for a vehicle. I went to the car dealership and they ran my credit... NONE of the "Removals" they had removed or improvements showed up on when they ran my credit at the dealership. All my negative items were still there. I called the company to try and close my account and they persuaded me to just put the account on hold and they would only work partially on my account. I have called numerous times to get in touch with someone who could explain to me why their websites shows removals and my score is up on Creditkarma.com but not when my credit gets pulled at the dealership and no one can give me an answer. I am put on hold for a very long time. I am starting to regret my decision of using this company to help me fix my credit.

I signed up with this company in April of 2014 and understood the high cost associated with the service that was expected, key word expected. Fine I paid and had no issues but then realized that all this company does is blindly challenge items on your credit report 1 or 2 items at a time so that they can continue charging you for their service every month, something anyone can do on their own so I called and canceled. After a week or so I was charged again, I called again and a rep stated that there was no notation of cancellation... Huh? Ok so now I'm pissed, I asked the rep to close my case immediately. She claimed she did and would be sending a confirmation email, still waiting on that email btw.
I immediately canceled that card with my bank preventing future charges from these crooks. After a month or so of no Lexington Law charges. I received a new charge on my new card from LL in the amount $99!! How is this possible? Well my account was still not closed/canceled and to add insult to injury LL petitioned Mastercard to provide them with my new card info to which I was charged an additional month of service. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. IT'S A SCAM. THERE IS NO CLEAR-CUT CANCELLATION.

I signed up for LL in Feb. By June my credit score HAD raised almost 100 points and I was able to secure an auto loan. However, when we attempted to go for the mortgage, the broker needed all 'masked disputes' (what Lex Law does) off of there. That was troublesome. I had to make many phone calls to deal with that, LL wasn't willing to help with any of that. Credit Karma says my score has gone down substantially, though the mortgage company says its still up there and continuing to move up.
Lex Law is a great place to 'start', like jumpstart your credit and get it moving. What this does is allow you to start working with other creditors to make it move up further. Meaning, it gives you the credit you need to fix your credit. If you think coming to Lex Law is going to fix everything for you, that is false. You have to do some ground work, depending on your goals. My recommendation is to use it for a few months, until you can secure real credit lines, then drop them. And you have to call and cancel the day they charge you, or you get charged again for the next month. This is not a scam, it's just how your billing cycle works and they tell you that straight up when you register. Use them for what they're for then drop them. That's the magic formula.

I applied for a 5000 personal loan. After checking a credit score with Credit Karma was put on the line with 3 so called paralegals who didn't know what a thin file was. My sister was also told she had a thin file. She has a 200k home which is paid for. Well my 4 hour ordeal started with the first person who I spoke to at Lexington Law, fast talkers who skip from helping you to getting your social security number to your credit card info. While they were checking me something told me to check them. I was horrified at my findings so I immediately asked to cancel. The 4th paralegal said he would send a cancellation email and hung up on me. I waited on the email and it didn't come.
After 2 more hours of trying to get a correct phone number that they actually answer I was greeted by a man that told me he didn't know what they do in that department. He was arrogant and rude. Finally I get another so called paralegal who tries to talk me out of the cancellation. I said, "I want a cancellation email now and if you hang up before I get it I'll be at the Attorney General's Office when the doors open." The email clicked in in 2 minutes but was told I had to pay for their service which the application had just been done an hour before that. The biggest scammers going there are no paralegals, just people reading off the same script to everyone, a consumer nightmare. So Don't do it. However, they will charge you $99.95 for the first few days as a fee for getting your case ready (which they won't tell you), and then they will charge you another $99.95 at the end of the first month. If you cancel your services before the first month payment you will still have to pay that $99.95 (understandable, but still highway robbery), but you will no longer have access to view your case information. I think the Rep gave up after I lied about not having enough in my account to sign up for the services. The Rep asked me to post date the time so that they could take the money out, but I did not feel comfortable with that because I was not sure if I want to use their services. I only have one thing against my credit report with TransUnion. I called them about it and disputed something that I am in a payment plan with. I called 3 weeks to check on it, and TransUnion replied that the account that was in collections was no longer there, and they are sending me an updated credit report. Our services would not begin until after our first payment was made. We signed up in May. We were also told we could cancel at any time. No mention of conditions or fees. The first payment was $99.95 for each of us, plus the amount it cost to pull our credit reports. We called about the mischarge but they never reimbursed the difference but my husband wanted to try again.
The next month, they charged us both $99.95. I complained. Again, no credit of the difference. Then in July, it was again $99.95 for each of us. I called to cancel prior to the next month's billing date. They plan to charge us the full amount for August even though we aren't using their services. They say that you only have 13 days after the payment to cancel. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said they were too busy. Lexington Law Firm is a SCAM. I called in yesterday to have a consultation and I have not been that infuriated and disgusted by a business in my life. First of all, the initial guy I spoke with misinformed myself and my girlfriend who were signing up for the service, about the amount of money that was going to be due and when it was due. He was talking really fast and made it seem urgent that we start working on the case that day. After he received the payment he transferred us to a "paralegal" that gave us extremely different information about payment due dates and amounts. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
When I called to cancel the same day that I signed up for the service, the woman I spoke with seemed to empathize with our frustration and assured us that she would correct it. Asked if she could call us back after speaking with a supervisor but NEVER called back. The NEXT day, I called and spoke with a supervisor who did not show much sympathy for our situation. I recorded the phone called and assured him that until I saw proof of the cancellation of our service, that I would keep calling in.
A few things that we learned after being scammed: 1. Your credit report can be accessed for FREE every year, which is how they access it online. 2. The $49.99 "deal" a rep tries to sell you is NOT a deal, it is a required activation fee that you will pay within 15 days of signing up ON TOP of the $99.00 that you will be charged every month.
I am reporting them to the BBB.

She was a fast talker and would not let me get a word in. She then transferred me to the paralegal. And the other person would not give me any feedback on the questions that I ask. Last she promised me that I can have the same deal for $49.99.
I called back the next day after reading reviews and some dumb guy said that it was $99.00 a month of scheduled payments. First, I was not informed of that. This was a copy and paste..review...I'm not now..nor have I ever been an employee....my complaint has been resolved.
Original Review: July 15, 2014
I am a former employee of lexington law firm. There are a few things people should know before signing up for their service.
The people who work there ARE NOT PARALEGALS!! When you call in, it is a call center. They have their employees take very simple tests once ever 3-4 months; most of them are right out of high school. YOU DO NOT HAVE any paralegals or attorneys working on your case. The whole system is automated. They have an internal system that automatically generates the letters. The whole system works on its own and most of the employees that work there have no idea how credit works.
Also, they BREAK THE CROA LAWS!! on a daily basis... They do this 2 different ways. 1. When they upload an Experian report, a lot of the times because of the way Experian lists the item, their system marks it as it was deleted off of your credit report and they move it to a positive credit line. They then send out to the customer an email and post it on their website that it was removed from the report when it was not... THIS IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW. 2. Also, their data entry team makes many many many mistakes when entering reports. This is also VIOLATION OF CROA. They have been aware of the flaw in their systems for over a year and still have not made any attempts to fix it.
Now on to why you pay a monthly fee.. According to CROA they can not bill you till after they do the work. How they do this is they tell you that they will not dispute all of your items at once because it can make the credit reporting agencies give you a negative response. This is a lie. If they disputed everything at once, they would have to wait 60-90 days to re-dispute them, and they would not be able to charge you a fee for that time. By doing it the way they do, they can drag out the process and charge you every month and have you pay more money.
Now on to when you call to close your case. There are a lot of complaints about people closing and the case not being closed... That is because every employee MUST hit their stats and one of them is the % of clients they can talk into not closing their case. If they close the case, it will count against them; if they talk you into keeping it open, they get 3% of what your next payment is. So a lot of times the phone reps will not close the case and not put a note in the case. This happens ALL THE TIME, and they are aware of this and do not hold the phone reps accountable.
When you close your case write down the date and time and name of the reps.. And yes, the complaints of rude reps are true. They are not trained for customer service and they do not have any quality control. Just keep in mind everything they do, you CAN do yourself. The only thing you are paying them for is the time it will save you.

I expressed to him that I couldn't use that card because I have my rent drafted out of that account monthly. He assured me that it was okay to use the card, even though it doesn't have any funds. His words was, "We just need to run it so you can get your credit reports." I agreed under the impression it was on a one-time deal.
Fast forward to today. I was hit with a surprise. I didn't have enough to cover my rent because Lexington Law took out $112.00. I called Lexington to see what was going on. They can do it I was told and would start on it immediately. No one told me there that when Lexington law puts something in dispute no bank will give you financing as you cannot get accurate readings of your report while in dispute. No one will call me back with information as to how I can drop a dispute. They told me since I cancelled my account they have no info on me when I cancelled only 4 days ago. Client services do not pick up the phone and all you get are sales reps who can't find anyone to answer your questions. They cannot get client services to answer either. I would love to tell the news about this scam of an organization. Even when you are under contract, you never get a live person, you can only do a live chat and their answers are robotic and make no sense. Don't be stupid enough as I was to contract with them. If you have credit issues hire a real attorney.

From my personal experience, Lexington Law did not remove anything on my credit file (had some late payments). They told me they would def. remove these and did not. I paid for 4 months. They kept sending me credit scores and said they send creditors disputes. Well I send disputes before I signed up with them for FREE and couldn't do anything so I paid over 500.00 dollars for nothing!! All they would do is send credit scores which I get those for free from my phone apps. They lied to me and took money. I talked to a representative on the phone today and asked for a partial refund and they said they couldn't give me anything back because they were still trying to send letters... All I can say it is a scam - did not work for me. I am still going to try to get my money back. It is not fair for anyone out there like me to get ripped off... By the way canceled my subscription.

So I got transferred to Lexington Law, they said I need to paid $12.99 to get a summary of my report so they can see what they can do. They orchestrate some weird report and the numbers were 684 (Credit Score). when I know for sure was lower than that hence won't be looking for credit fixing. Anyhow, the representative Tucker **, explained that I need to paid retention fee for $99 dollars. I said, "look I've been burned before with companies trying to fix my credit and they did nothing but put money on their packets". I said to Mr. Tucker that I was sorry but this time I need to see some work before I paid.
Mr tucker said that Lexington does not charge until the worked is done (does it makes sense you have to paid but you don't paid? a little crazy), so he waves the $12.99 but he wants me to paid the $99 when I said to him that I wont be doing that because nothing has done as he explain Mr. Tucker when off on saying "Good luck fixing your report, getting a house. go see if someone want to work with you... no one even wants to look at you. Whenever you are ready to paid, gives a call" and He hang up =( I was like OK, that seems to show me what they were after my little money.
From my experiences, I think sometimes we get desperate to fixed our credits but we don't realized or we don't see really what works and what not. If you are dealing with this firm, my advised to you is to make sure you ask the right question and do your homework. Pulling your credit yourself beforehand can alleviate wasting your money and be mad later.

My husband and I had our credit scores checked at our local credit union because we are currently in the process of trying to get a home loan. Mine was 615, not great at all, and my husband's was about 730 - better but still not great. I talked to Larry Bryan from Lexington Law and my first impression was that he was just a fast talking salesman reading from a script - alright no big deal. He pulled up my credit and it said my score was 503. That was my second red flag and he went on with the fast talking and I managed to catch the phrase "without your consent". No sorry, you are not doing anything without my consent. Then he started talking money and I told him I needed to discuss it with my husband first, which Larry wasn't too happy about.
So I put my husband on the phone, and they talked about 10 minutes and my husband basically kept telling no, not right now, can we get back to about it, and other things of the sort. So Larry started getting rude and pushy. My husband being the relaxed person, he is just laughed it off, said no yet again and hung up. In the end, especially after reading many reviews, I am very glad we didn't give him or banking information. I would only suggest using Lexington Law if you have an extra $100 burning a hole in your pocket and really, really want to waste it. This has to be probably one of the worst scams ever - right along with my "African cousin wanting to share his riches" and "winning the Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail lottery".

1. The money from my debit card was withdrawn without my consent; 2. The process of refunding the money was too long, unpleasant and nervous: their system is set in such a way that it protects their company, not the Customer - they withdraw the money right away, and you need to 3-5 business days to get the refund having discussed the issue with at least 5 representatives, which makes you unhappy, though one has the right to pursue happiness in life; 3. The customer service reps are incompetent: they do not read the notes, it seems that is not their main job at all- they never know all the information, every next representative tells you another story; 4. They keep your personal data and do not give their full name (for security reasons); 5. They do not confirm that they are ready to delete all your information from their data base; 6. Their text messages and emails are unanswerable; 7. They do not even know the simple definition of "discrimination" which originates from "disrespect" which happens in their case, as they also decided not to take my case neither in the present nor in the future!

I envisioned a giant marquee with my credit score as a team of case workers stood around it applauding every time it went up. Office parties in my honor, WOOHOO!!! In actuality, they jotted down my credit card and threw my name away. If I could send these guys a cat ** cake, I certainly would. I have been with Lexington Law for a month. When I signed up, they asked my mom's permission to charge her card ONE time, for the $12.99 charge for the credit reports (I don't have a debit card or credit card). My mom just called me saying she has money missing from her card and asked me to look into Lexington Law. I told her I would call them, but she wanted me to research. I told her I already knew who they were and reminded her that we used her card with them once before. I called them, immediately started freaking out on them and cursing at them. I was and am still livid! They took $99.95 off her card, along with a $19.95 reprocessing fee (if they charge your card and it declines, that's when this comes into play), so I told the "paralegal" that I wanted her money refunded NOW Because she has NOTHING to do with this.
At first she was all reluctant to issue it, until I told her I'd blast that company on social media, local news, Better Business Bureau, and I'd figure out a way to blast it on CNN. She still said she wasn't sure but she could ask her supervisor. She puts me on a "brief" 20 minute hold, and tells me when she came back on the line that they will issue a refund but only when I add another card to the account, and she said that my account has been cancelled. She said she needed another card to pay for services rendered. I'm like what ** services? You guys sent ONE letter to the bureaus, how much does that ** cost?! Got our address and email address wrong from the beginning and we were not getting expected letters and emails. Asked questions about various issues as we finally proceeded only to have them dance around the answers. It was like pulling "hen's teeth". They did remove 9 items which are not really nine items. One item listed on all three reports is three items for them. Maybe they get it off of one report but not the other two.
It is still a negative mark on your overall credit score. It cost 300.00 for one month of service for my wife and myself. My score only increased by about 25 points because they did not appear to be working the same item on all three reports. It takes them longer by working different items on different reports....... imagine that. That gives them a longer period to charge you. Credit Karma should not recommend Lexington Law. That being said, I was with the company for almost 6 months and during that time, one account was removed by one credit agency. What that tells me is that I could have saved the money and tackled it on my own. Do yourself a favor and try challenging the companies directly. It may save you time and money.

So I did that. I cancel after I made the payment for the next month to be cancelled. But, it had no impact on my credit score though. I wondered if they hire a company to put it there so they can take it off quickly and justify themselves as having been productive? Questionable...
As for the original negative items I had hired them to dispute... Not a single one of them was removed. I wasted $600 on nothing. When I tried to get a refund they put me on hold for a long time, kept transferring me around, and ultimately refused any responsibility for failure of services. Like most others on this site I was lured into the promise of cleaning up my credit so it would be easier for me to obtain a home loan. After signing up in October, one item was removed in January I believe. I was not aware of this item and was pleased as it appeared they were working on my case. However, the one item I wanted disputed was never addressed. After further research the item they had "removed" was taken off because I had paid it fully and the business reported to the credit bureau. Interesting. After four months with these predators I was in no better condition than when I started. Then, as a member (not sure the level of my membership it was 99.95/month) I received my weekly account update text message with a "D" rating on debt to income ratio stating I had 82% of available funds utilized.
The problem with this is the balance on my credit cards had not shown payments that had been made for the last 2 months (I only have 2 credit cards and one has had a balance of $0. For a month and a half. The other card has 30% usage with no late or missed payments). When I tried to contact Lexington Law to correct this mistake I was on hold for 45 minutes. When the call went through I heard a beep then hello then dead silence. This happened again when I called right back including the 45 minute wait time. Frustrated I sent an email for someone to call me to fix this, still nothing. Then I received ANOTHER update with the same errant information. I emailed again the next day still nothing.
In the meantime, I needed to purchase a vehicle because my other vehicle was totaled in an accident. Imagine my surprise when the dealership told me my credit was fine and actually over 100 points higher than I was led to believe with these weekly updates. I had no problem getting financing at a great rate. Finally, I emailed asking to close out my account, no response. So I sent another email asking to confirm my account was closed or I would be contacting the BBB. What do you know? A prompt response!! I was informed I could only cancel through their secure website or via phone. Of course I went with the website only to be denied access to the link that was provided in the email so... back to the phones. After an hour and a half on hold I finally talked to a rep. that stated per my request my account had been closed and a confirmation email had been sent to my account the previous day.
While on the phone I checked my email and I had no such email. She assured me my account was closed and no future payments would be taken from my account. Upon hanging up the phone I called my bank and asked for a stop payment on any future payments to Lexington Law. Then, two hours later I sent an email from my account to Lexington Law informing them my bank was informed to stop future payment and I wanted confirmation my account was closed. Ten minutes later I received the elusive account cancellation confirmation email only AFTER I sent an email from my personal account copying myself for future reference if necessary.
In summary I paid this company for four months and got absolutely ZERO service from them. This would be equivalent to me owning a hot dog stand, having someone pay me for a hot dog and giving them a packet of mustard with the promise of a hot dog. The one item that I thought I needed their help with is being handled by me and should be cleared up in two weeks - I contacted the company myself. Why couldn't Lexington Law do this in 4 months?? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

I signed up for Lexington Law in October of 2013. At that time I was promised I would be in a position to buy my home come March/April of this year. Over the course of my experience, I experienced some removals which I was overjoyed about as I have been trying to do this by myself for a year prior. I had paid off some debts and sent the paperwork to Lexington. I kept asking why these were not coming off my credit and got a scripted "they do not have incentive to keep them on your report once paid." OK so why didn't they fall off?
So I waited and the longer I waited, the more frustrated I became even after my credit score DROPPED 100 points! I immediately called to find out what the problem was and got the scripted "they have no incentive...blah blah blah". So recently I got a returned letter from them and I was appalled. It looked like a 5th grader wrote the letter and they were signing my name to it. Ok. I didn't remember signing a POA. I also noticed things that had dropped off my report had started to come back (I am not talking stuff that wasn't paid off-I had actually paid these accounts off and they were coming back!), I asked Lexington about this and again I got a scripted response.
I started looking into reviews and found this site and got nervous because some of the people on here spent over 2000 dollars to these people. I did find White Jacobs and Associates on here. I called them and told me that basically Lexington had messed up my credit quite a bit but could help me. They did not ask for money upfront but asked for a credit report to go over with the attorney. I was charged a reasonable fee for a retainer, told it would take about 4 months to fix and got a money back guarantee. I have also been told that they sue the creditors and if they win, we split the winnings 50/50 - Really? Cool! I was happy because it was more than I started with. It is also cheaper per month than Lexington. If they can't help you in a 6 month period, they do not sign you up. I am impressed with this company so far.
I would say take Lexington Law at your own risk. When I canceled I had their 'Senior Paralegal' tell me that no one can guarantee that the stuff will come off because it would be like guaranteeing a murderer that they will get off. OK. I told her that she might want to relay that to their call center. I take this as a lesson learned. Use them at your own risk.

First talked with Mr. ** at the firm and convinced me they could help. I explained my situation which was that me and my wife had scores over 700+ but we wanted to refinance our home but also had late payments due to a home we sold and paid off the bank that had started a deed in lieu, which created payments not made because for the bank to accept the deed in lieu, we had to be behind in payments and not to make anymore, so they had to report late payments. The deed in lieu process started in 11/2010 and we closed on the home 3/10/2011 and made the bank whole. The credit was affected and we knew it would be but by doing a deed in lieu it would hurt the least around 2/3 years. We also had a second on the same home by the same bank (B.O.A.) so we have two negatives from the same bank on the same mortgage. The mortgage was showing 30/120/150 days late; the line of credit shows 30/90 days late.
I thought there was a chance Lexington law could possibly help increase our score so we would get a better rate on a refi. What happened after that was as soon as they sent out letters, our scores went down by 70-90 points. My wife was livid. When I called Lexington, they said that after the dispute was over, the score will go back up. As of right now, 3/24/14, our scores are 663 from 712/708 and no one can tell us why.

A month later, they charged me for another month and they hadn't even BEGUN to start work on the one item I needed to come off.
I called and complained they said they never received the information and I had to submit it all again. Another month goes by and still nothing, they were spending their time working on a $60 Verizon bill on my report instead of the major LIEN I had from the IRS that was cleared up and Experian wouldn't take it off. They never charged me a Penny and kept their word. I was relieved and surprised, I have since gone to White Jacobs, they are expensive but I have already saw immediate results. I am still early into this process, but I am hopeful.

I signed up with Lexington law about 6 months ago and of course I was sold the most expensive package they had the, "concord premiere", 100.00 a month. I'm ok with that, so time goes by and little by little they have had things removed and I was satisfied. When it came time to look for houses for myself, I ran into a problem. Banks or any lender's WILL NOT consider you if you have disputes on any accounts on your credit reports. Lexington law does not tell you this, but they do know about it!!! Their trick is, if you dispute an account it is taken off of your credit report and then analyzed by whomever, well this "Helps" your credit score because it seems like that particular disputed account doesn't exist, hence your credit score rises.
So, needless to say that the lender who told me this said that Lexington law is the number one problem. He is seeing across the board causing people to not get approved because of their tactics, banks are picking up on this and don't like it. Lexington law is jumping through hoops trying to make money at your expense but not telling the entire truth. Now when I called LL and told them I was applying for a home loan but was having a problem, the woman immediately knew what I was going to say. Ha ha, they do know the crap their stirring up! So I asked her to please UN-DISPUTE three specific accounts for me.
Reply: "sir we don't un-dispute accounts for clients". This is what I got from this, so you will help indirectly screw my chance of being approved for a home loan up with MY MONEY, but will NOT help me correct it with MY MONEY!!!! She said it will fall off and the disputes will go away. NOT true, you have to write a letter saying that you do not dispute these accounts. Would it not make sense that if you dispute, then you must un-dispute. This is my home lender stating that he has seen this many times, and he has un-disputed accounts for people because LL wouldn't! So now, I'm, "trying" to cancel my membership. 12.95 report watch is what I downgraded to last week with LL. Today I logged in to get their contact number and called them and stated that I would like to cancel. It was pleasant at first until I was told I would have to pay the 12.95 before cancelling. Why? I already payed 100.00 on the 19th last month. Oh our billing cycle is different and you missed it by one day. What?! I feel that I have made my case against LL.

After almost a year of paying $99 per month, Lexington has not been able to make any substantial progress. Progress that has been made was the result of actions I'd taken on my own. Also, I recently requested and obtained letters that were sent by Lexington Law on my behalf. These look as if they were written by 6th graders. At this point, I'm of the belief that Lexington Law is one big scam. And the results of my case is proof.

I started with Lexington a while ago and haven't been with them for some time, because I had 3 late pays and one collection account on my report. So I signed up with them didn't really track what they was doing cause I'm busy, I work, have a family. But I got an email one day, checked my transunion report and equifax and all was deleted. One was still on Experian. So I stayed with them another month, pulled the report again and it was deleted.
I then called them closed my case and we went from there. I don't know about these other reviews, because I had a great a experience with them. I mean I hope I never have to clear up my credit again, but if I do, I wouldn't mind hiring them again. One other thing I'll add is a lot of these reviews are about purchasing homes but I'll tell you one thing, it was a great feeling having my credit pulled for the home I purchased and knowing there was nothing on there hurting it!!! Hope this review is useful thanks Lexington!!

They tell me, "Oh we will have to get $99.99 March 6th as we have sent out 3 letters." I researched my credit myself and have some medical and one stupid health club charge, a place I NEVER SET FOOT IN... NATIONAL FITNESS... HCOAA... TOTAL SCAM. I have 12 small charges totaling $1,800.00. They tell me it will take at least 6 months to help get SOME of this cleared up. That's one third of my total outstanding debts!!!!
Hell, you can do all this yourself without being charged a dime. After all I have read about Lexington Law and their terrible satisfaction rating, I wish I would have never answered the phone. I AM nervous about them having my card number and them telling me over and over, you can cancel at any time. I CAN? THEN HOW COME YOU TELL ME I HAVE TO PAY THE MARCH 6TH PAYMENT!!! Wouldn't you wait until March 6th to see if I wanted to continue?

I signed up for Lexington law through Creditkarma.com earlier this month around 8 pm and reluctantly someone that late was able to assist me. They charged me $13 to get a full credit report which I thought was odd because by law you are entitled to a free credit report once a year. They got me to sign my sister up at the same time.
After that, I never received any username or password for their so called client site. I had 5 days of a trial period before they would charge me. Called and email for 2 days and no action was done until I was told that paralegals were the only ones that can provide that information, which they were only available until 6 pm. I was supposedly forwarded to one after 9 pm prior days before when I first signed up. This already seemed sketchy. The funny thing was, I figured out my username and password by going to the site and clicking that I forgot them, so that the information would be resent to my email.
After all this, I figured that Lexington law may not be a legitimate source for credit repair. On the third day of my trial period, I research for consumer complaints and realized that they are another scam, out to get your money on something you can do yourself. I called and cancelled mine and my sisters "membership" before they could charge. After looking at all the bad reviews, I read someone mentioning White Jacobs and Associates and signed up.
It's been a week so far and I'm hoping promising changes. The legal consultant that I spoke to was very knowledgeable and explained to me the tactics and profits made from bad debt. By law, a law firm is only allowed to work on your credit report for 180 days (6 months). That is why Lexington law and all these other credit repair firms sign you up for a "membership" to keep you on longer to make money off you. You know when you have a legitimate law firm when they ask you to sign documents and power of attorney forms.
These credit repair companies only dispute by sending letters to credit report agencies in different fonts and sizes to confuse scanners when received. Well, they've gotten more sophisticated and these tactics won't work anymore. You're better off going to the websites of each credit reporting agency and select "dispute" to dispute reporting a yourself. Keep in mind that this temporary deletion and collection agencies are getting more aggressive to make more money off you, as the laws become more restrictive on them.

I called the number and spoke with Brian who said that he can assist and offer with the matter for a one time charge of $12.99. He reiterated this amount several times after I asked him to confirm. Subsequently, I noticed several charges from Lexington Law totaling $119.99. I called several times on 2/22/14 to question this and I was told that I signed up for service that has a monthly fee. I sent several emails over a period of 2 weeks, forwarding credit documents and asking specific questions. I did not get any responses.... When I complained about this, they stated they had not received any of my emails... When I forwarded them all of the emails I had sent, they said, "Oh sorry for the inconvenience." I have since cancelled with them, but considering the horror stories I have read, am waiting for something to bite me in the ass. At first, for two years I have been pleased and very satisfied with the service that Lexington Law provided. With their assistance I was able to raise my score almost 200 points in a very short time period. However, a few months ago I lost my job and was unable to pay, so I tried to cancel my membership, however they instead informed me of their deferment program. I happily agreed, as at the time I did not want to lose their services.
Once the deferment was over, they changed my payment date without notice and they ran the card they had on file - which was a closed account after I lost my job. I quickly remedied the situation by paying them with another card (I did not save the card information to my profile). They had applied another $20 to my account and were calling me three times a day to collect. Apparently it was a hidden fee that again, was not communicated to me. In another email, I requested to cancel my account, the response again was to explain their hidden fees.
I sent about five emails requesting my account be terminated. They applied the fees to my card (again, I did not save my information nor did I approve them using the card at all), applied another fee of $59.95 to the card, then sent me an email stating I needed to follow a link back to the site to cancel my account. The link took me to a dummy landing page on their site. I called the toll free number also given to be bounced from line to line. They charged fees to a card I did not authorize them to use, and refuse to cancel my account. They offer a great service, however, their customer service is rude, and treats the clients like imbeciles...

I soon realized this firm was continuing to charge me $99.95 per month even after I notified them to cancel my membership. All the incorrect information magically has started to reappear on my credit report. It seems the credit bureaus are working with Lexington Law by adding incorrect information after same information was removed during the time one is enrolled in the Lexington Law program.
Once the Lexington Law account is closed is when I noticed erroneous information appearing on my credit reporting bureaus. Beware of Lexington Law on their credit repairing tactics. And once they obtain your credit card information they continue to add charges by charging credit reports to your credit card on file.

I was a former employee of Lexington Law for 2 years and I am here to tell you the truth about their services and their sales tactics. First, they say that their services are a month to month service, what they don't tell you is that their "work fee" payment of $99.95 is NOT the same thing as the first monthly payment. So in reality, it's not $99.95 a month, it's actually $200.00 for that first month of service.
Another thing, you are NOT speaking to actual Paralegals. This is a call center and the majority of the company's employees are in their early 20s, not college educated, and probably can't qualify for advanced financing that their clients are seeking, nor do they have knowledge about finances or credit repair. These sales agents are paid strictly on commission and will do anything to sell you on an experience Lexington cannot provide. Also, the attorneys at the firm have nothing to do with your case and will never speak to you or be involved. The business model is all turn and burn, form driven garbage.
Finally, good luck canceling your case in a painless or effortless manner. Canceling the services will be the equivalent of a rectal examination. They will upsell you, "accidentally" hang up on you, and "misplace" or be unable to locate your file and have to get back to you. Please do NOT use this service... You will more than likely feel that you overpaid for the services being rendered and there is a good chance you will be promised or made to believe something that the company cannot deliver on.

When I first signed up, I had over 30 negative items on my credit from a divorce. They did successfully remove quite a few of them. In the beginning, I did see a lot of action, then it did dwindle which caused me to eventually cancel my account. I did repair most of my current husband's old inaccuracies myself but decided to give them a second chance with both of our reports this time. I will say there is no magic fix to your credit and no matter who does it, a company or yourself, it takes time.
No two people will have the same results and obviously for some people, they must be doing something right or they never would have made it this far. As for anyone with issues with still being charged, as with anything that you cancel you should call, as well as fax/email something so you always have a paper trail. When I canceled my account previously, they cancelled as requested and we left on good terms which is why I decided after a rather large break (1 1/2 yrs), they may be worth another shot. When you speak with an agent over the phone initially, they sell you on the idea that they will change your life around within a matter of months and that they will do everything in their power to remove all negative listings on your credit report immediately. Once you sign up, you find out fairly quick how lackadaisical they truly are in repairing your credit. If you have a large amount of negative items on your credit (i.e. 20-30 derogatory items), they will only challenge 4-6 items at a time per month. This is where the lucrative aspect begins for them and the monetary demise starts for you.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows all consumers to challenge any and all items on their credit report that they deem inaccurate, so you can challenge all items at once to get the quickest results in bad credit removal if you so desire. When mentioning this to them, they tell you that this is not acceptable due to the fact that the credit bureaus can refuse to investigate your disputes if they consider your investigation to be of a "frivolous" manner. This is a well-rehearsed and scripted line they use to instill fear in their clients to not challenge all items at once, resulting in dragging the process on from month to month so you can continue to pay the ridiculously high monthly fee for them to simply send out letters on your behalf.
By the way, this is the only service they offer in respect to helping you fix your credit. They do not make phone calls, they do not attempt any different approaches if the investigations do not end in your favor...this is it! You are paying them up to $100.00 per month to send out a few letters and let you know if there is any progress. If you go on their website and decide you would like to chat with an agent, you will be treated to a scripted, rude and dismissive agent 9 out of 10 times who will not be willing to talk to you about anything "outside of the scope agreement", which basically means unless you are asking about the letters they sent out for you or about when their next payment is due, they have no interest in talking to you.
Overall Lexington Law is a very money-hungry group of scammers who are looking to do as little as possible for as much as possible! If you are not satisfied with the results as time goes along, they offer to do an "escalation" letter which is essentially the same thing they've already done with the challenge letter, only they send it out worded differently. Save yourself the money and aggravation of dealing with rude and impersonal people and learn how to send dispute letters on your own. Pay the money you were going to pay them towards the actual credit bureau websites where you pay a much smaller monthly fee to monitor your credit report and score while you await the results of your dispute letters. As Lexington Law likes to repeat to you, "persistence is key when challenging negative items on your credit report". Just save yourself the money and be persistent on your own. No one cares about improving your credit more than you. Everyone else cares only about the money you pay them to do it. Remember that!

After contacting the BBB, Lexington Law did not charge the upcoming month fees to my account. I appreciate their goodwill.
Original Review: Sept. 6, 2013
Ordered service 6/26/13 for $49.95 (initial fee?). Was then charged 7/10/13 $99.95 (for services rendered 6/26-7/26?). Then 8/10/13 was charged $99.95 (for services rendered 7/26-8/26?). Called 8/27/13 to cancel service and was offered a lower service for $12.00 due on 9/10/13. I declined this and then was told I would still be charged $99.95 on 9/10/13. I then requested to be put on the $12.00 plan since I did not have the money to pay ($99.95) for services not rendered and I was hung up on. They gave me the whole script about having to charge for services they already did for the month, but no matter how I spin the date and monies paid it doesn't add up to me. I have reported them to Utah BBB and my Attorney General in Ohio. But this is very disturbing that a business can operate this way.

This credit repair service is only interested in your $99.00 dollars a month. I had terrible customer service and they take too long in resolving my credit problems. When I call them they always told me it takes time in dealing with credit bureaus. All they do is keep you on as long as they can to keep the $99.00 rolling in to them with little results for your money. I cancelled with them and told them NOT to take any more money out of my account and the following month another payment was withdrawn from my account without my approval. This company is in this racket for your money not to repair your credit.

I did not do a review online of Lexington Law until I joined. When I saw that some cases take 3-6 months at $99 @ mo. I felt that was really slow. A girlfriend said I could do this myself. I contacted them and cancelled. They advised me that I was not obligated to anything and I would not be charged any fees. I asked why they had not immediately removed the $12.95 credit report charge from my account as they said they would and the sales associate said because I had already cancelled. I confirmed with her that no money would be withdrawn from my account.
Two days later, $12.95 was removed from my bank account and the woman said although I was told I would not be charged fees, I was charged for the credit report as if she were dueling semantics. This caused a bank fee, as I shifted the $13 to another account. After getting a bank fee of $35 I had to wait for my payday to pay the overdue amount before closing that account. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will not honor their cancellation. In which I will have to hire another lawyer to extract them from my bank account, paying $175 to do so. I opened the account on the 31st of July, 2013 and was notified that they received my cancellation on the 6th. On the 7th of August 2013 they sent a charge to my bank for the $12.95.

I admit, I have a very confusing situation, but they couldn't their nuts if the squirrels had them in their mouths. Three different people I talked with and all they are supposed paralegals. Must be an online school paid for by the call center. Don't even think of asking them a question that isn't in their training manual for them to reply to. They consistently revert back to the script provided them. I understand they work on commission, supposedly 30,000 clients. They won't let you talk to licensed attorney who runs this business, but after much **, hoop jumping, and ass kissing, they gave me the direct number to their Law Firm. That number is **. Maybe someone there may know the difference between ** and shinola.
Five stars...what a joke. If it’s things you OWE, you should pay. My problem wasn't re-establishing my credit. Mine was with a stolen identity. They didn't seem to give a rats behind…they only wanted their commissions to get your credit reports (which are free if you get them yourself) and YOU can dispute your own garbage that you want to try to write off. If you want that new ESCALADE and have no income except unreported...this is the company for you. GOOD LUCK. Give me the money…I will send the same letters to the reporting agencies if you are not literate enough to do so. AND IT'S FREE. I think I will contact a local person, who I can meet face to face. That's what all of you should do...unless you are too embarrassed. I asked for an attorney from Lexington Law to contact me, and they would only say a paralegal would. RIGHT...

First off, the first person you talk to is a salesperson. This person tells you whatever you want in order to sign you up. I was told that I had 5 days to cancel the service. What they didn't tell me was that I had to wait 6 days (since I was in CA) before they would start working in my case. Since time was of the essence, this did not sit well with me when I found out about it 3 days later. I was wondering when they would send out the disputes. 2nd, I was told that for the first account it was $99.99 and since my wife had the same items, they would charge us $49.99 for her account. The 2nd month, I was charged $99.99 for both accounts. So I called them, they then stated that this was for the first month only. This is not what I was told.
Furthermore, after arguing for a couple of minutes, they told me that both accounts should have been $49.99. They had charged me the full amount and the fact that the payments kept changing made me very suspicious. 3rd, I wasn't happy about the 6 day wait period and they asked me if I would like them to expedite the letters. I said sure, the problem is they didn't cancel the first letters. So all the credit bureaus got duplicate disputes. Well when they get too many disputes, they get marked as frivolous. So you can guess what happened? Many item's disputes were kicked back and it took weeks to find this out.
Now it is weeks later and the bureaus don't want to do anything because too many disputes have been received. It is not 45 days later, most items haven't even started being disputed, the other items that were disputed have not come off. As of today, we were disputing 18 items on both reports, only 2 have come off and those ones aren't the ones we needed off. 4th, terrible customer service regarding issues and questions. These so-called paralegals blow off your complaints that never get sent to management to get corrected. You can never talk to your so called direct paralegal or attorney assigned to your case. I advise anyone to stay away from this turn and burn model this place has.

First, I want to say I can't believe the reviews I'm reading about Lexington Law that are bad. Doesn't sound like the same company to me. Well, let me say I started with them in March 2013 with 49 negative things on my 3 different credit reports. Now it is July 2013. I have 5 left and Zero on my TransUnion report. So I'm sure they will get those removed also soon... Every time I have called and spoken with someone, they have been really nice and helpful... always giving me great advice. Some things I needed to do to help them be successful at getting it removed, I did. I did try to do it myself and it didn't work. They also got 2 judgments removed from my credit reports. I'm very grateful for their service, since I started my own business I needed to have great credit for a good insurance and bond rate. My credit score went up about 200 points in 5 months. It was 480 to 520. Now it's 640 to 712.

DO NOT USE LEXINGTON LAW FOR ANY REASON EVER. Lexington law firm dishonestly advertises and provides no proof of work performed. They told me they needed more time at $100 a month. Eight months, no results. On August 15th, 2012, I started my service with Lexington Law to try and have some inaccurate items removed from my credit report after proving a debt did not belong to me in court for the third time. The sales associate I spoke with (Theresa) said I had a case and recommended I go with the premium for $100 a month. She told me I would see results in 3 months at this rate and that their clients have an average of 8 negative items removed from their credit report by then.
Fast forward to January 2013, after repeated calls each month, I saw no progress with the exception of two removals from my credit report. And these removals done were only completed by my aid in sending letters to the bureaus myself. After 7 months, they couldn't even remove the ONE debt that I proved in court did not belong to me, and I provided them with documentation. I called countless times about them removing this one item from my credit report and that it did not belong to me and that I had documentation to support that claim (which was provided) and each time it was as if no one had ever known I brought it up before. If that isn't bad enough, I called to cancel my service on February 14th. The rep named Juan said he would continue the service for $24.99 a month with no difference in service. I agreed on the contingency that I see results in the next 2 weeks.
Now, it is two weeks later and I have a $100 charge again. Not only that, but the service was downgraded to a maintenance pro service. That was the last straw. So I called today and asked for proof of the work they had been doing and they could provide me with none. I asked them to refund my money and they told me the best they could do was $75 to meet the price I was told before. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was never refunded any amount of money and they have made absolutely no attempt to resolve my BBB complaint in any way. They responded to BBB and all they said was they already refunded the $75. I provided my bank records to BBB to prove that there was no refund. I haven't heard anything since. I am absolutely completely dissatisfied with the service and disgusted by the practices and level of professionalism this company has displayed. They are CROOKS.
Lexington Law has not resolved the complaint and I am not going to stop responding to this complaint until they do. They have not even TRIED to contact me to try and work something out. They did not provide me a refund of the $75 like they promised, and they have not delivered on any of the $800 of service I paid for. Nothing was done to help my credit and no proof of letters sent was provided to prove it. I feel cheated and I feel like I was literally stolen from. If BBB cannot resolve the BBB claim, I may have to take legal action against them.

I am a former employee of Lexington Law Firm. There are a few things people should know before signing up for their service.
The people who work there ARE NOT PARALEGALS!! When you call in, it is a call center. They have their employees take very simple tests once every 3-4 months, and most of them are right out of high school. YOU DO NOT HAVE any paralegals or attorneys working on your case. The whole system is automated. They have an internal system that automatically generates the letters. The whole system works on its own, and most of the employees that work there have no idea how credit works. Also, they BREAK THE CROA LAWS on a daily basis...
They do this in two different ways: 1. When they upload an Experian report, a lot of the times because of the way Experian lists the item, their system marks it as if it was deleted off of your credit report and they move it to a positive credit line. They then send out to the customer an email and post it on their website that it was removed from the report when it was not... THIS IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW; and 2. Also, their data entry team makes many, many, many mistakes when entering reports. This is also a VIOLATION OF CROA. They have been aware of the flaw in their systems for over a year, and still have not made any attempts to fix it.
Now on to why you pay a monthly fee: according to CROA, they cannot bill you until after they do the work. How they do this is, they tell you that they will not dispute all of your items at once because it can make the credit reporting agencies give you a negative response. This is a lie; if they disputed everything at once, they would have to wait 60-90 days to re-dispute them, and they would not be able to charge you a fee for that time. By doing it the way they do, they can drag out the process and charge you every month and have you pay more money.
Now on to when you call to close your case: there are a lot of complaints about people closing and the case not being closed. That is because every employee MUST hit their stats, and one of them is the percentage of clients they can talk into not closing their case. If they close the case, it will count against them. If they talk you into keeping it open, they get 3% of what your next payment is. So a lot of times, the phone reps will not close the case and not put a note in the case. This happens ALL THE TIME, and they are aware of this and do not hold the phone reps accountable. When you close your case, write down the date and time and name of the reps. And yes, the complaints of rude reps are true: they are not trained for customer service and they do not have any quality control.
Just keep in mind that everything they do, you CAN do yourself. The only thing you are paying them for is the time it will save you.

Please DO NOT USE LEXINGTON LAW.. I have paid them $99.00 for the past five months and the only two things that they said they got off of my credit report really never came off. I decided to order my report myself and the bad marks were still on there. They also lied and said the inquiries were off, but they were not. YOU CAN DO THE SAME THING YOURSELF FREE. Once you get your report, go online and dispute yourself by simply clicking a box and entering. By the way, unless you pay OFF your credit cards and loans, the banks will not remove the bad listing. Once you pay it off, you can call and ask for them to remove it.
Also, if you pay it off and keep disputing, there is no reason for them to spend the time getting the info for the credit bureaus. At that point, it will be removed. But I promise you, UNLESS YOU PAY OFF YOUR CHARGE OFF, there is no way they will remove it because you still owe them money. Lexington Law only sends letters a couple a month. Do not waste your time or money. Order your credit report, go online, click dispute and get the bad marks off yourself.

Absolute scam. I called to have my credit repaired. I was fast talked and every question I asked was answered in circles. I was pushed 5 times to refer this service to my family and friends in 5 different ways, even after I said no 5 times. I figured the girl on the phone just didn't have good phone etiquette and let it go. Then, she went over the services which were all something I could do on my own but just don't have the time to do. So I asked how long this would take (considering they take $100.00 from your account every month until it is complete). I was told that when a paralegal looks over my report, they would let me know and they would start today… while we were on the phone.
So after I gave her my information to get the account started, I was told I have to confirm. So in order to get off the phone and process everything in my mind and make sense of the speed talking, I told her I would call back. The sales girl was extremely pushy about me staying on the phone, but I insisted I read everything over before I confirmed. So I read over their reviews which stated this was a scam and not to go forward with them. Make sure you also read the filtered reviews on this page. And I read over the CROA laws which state that any company claiming to repair your credit must give you a contract to sign, which includes payment terms, a detailed description of what they will do and an EXACT TIME. Also, the law states that no money can be taken until the service is complete.
So I called to say that I was not going to confirm and this wasn't the service I was looking for. I was fast talked again until I said to remove my info from their system. I was laughed at and was told I was already charged for the credit report. So I spoke with a supervisor and said that since I paid for the report, I want a copy of it and was still fast talked and got no answers. I also questioned them about the CROA law on credit repair and was told by a supervisor that the law is impossible to follow, and they don't work that way. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME EVEN CALLING… unless you want to waste time and money and feel like an idiot who was just scammed.

And for regulators getting kick backs from these companies to turn a blind eye, shows the decline of a cesspool that is Lexington Law. I purchased a 5-day trial offer and cancelled before the end of the 5 day offer, along with a cancellation conformation number as proof. Needless to say, the next month, my checking account was debited 3 separate times, totaling to $150.00. I was unaware of this at the time, only not until I received three overdraft charges at $35.00 each from my banking institution. I almost blew a gasket.
I was blown away that Lexington Law had the legal right to steal money out of my checking account. I contacted my Bank (Suntrust Bank in Lawrenceville, GA) to report the theft of funds from my checking account. I really believe the banks are in bed with Lexington Law and other companies as they are willing to give access to our hard earn money. My advice, don't TRUST the banks any longer. Since they offered a five day 100% refund, a guy from Lexington Law calls and says, "You should see some items dropping off your credit reports at the end of the month." That's pretty exciting, so who's going to cancel? Of course nothing drops off, and then they say it takes 60 days. Of course nothing happens in 60 days, and then they say sometimes it takes longer for some than others. After five months and six payments, my credit report was still the same.
This is a very clever operation set up to make one believe that they are giving individual attention to each case. In reality, it is set up to drag out over a period of years for those gullible enough to hang in there. I have no intention of being one of their lemmings, so I quit. It would have been nice if it had actually worked, but read all the ex-employee comments on the net. They don't make money solving your credit problems; they make money off suckers who believe that someday, somehow, maybe years down the road, Lexington Law will improve their credit. In the end, people walk away with no recourse because they were never legally guaranteed anything. I was assured they had been very successful in getting such delinquency reports removed particularly with Countrywide Mortgage (my mortgage company), especially since the company had been sold and was no longer operating.

It sounded good and the price was not bad, so I signed myself and my husband up for the service. I was told by the sales person that it did no good for one person in a marriage to improve their credit if the other one does not participate, so I signed both of us up. I was also told that we could cancel within the first 5 days and we would not be charged. He then switched me over to a supposed paralegal who would handle our case.
This person told me a completely different scenario, including the price which was twice as much as I was quoted by the sales person. I did not like what I heard from this person, so I canceled on the first day and the first conversation I had with the so-called paralegal. He assured me that my debit card would not be charged for anything except the initial charge for the credit report which was $20. We were supposed to get a copy of that report. We have not received one yet. I kept getting emails from Lexington Law Firm and I called them to see why. I was assured that our account had been cancelled and our debit card would not be charged. However, this is not the case. Lexington Law Firm has been charging our account every month for $50. I called them to tell them to stop charging us and give us a refund and they told me that in order to stop the payments and get a refund, I or my husband would have to file an affidavit charging the other with forgery.
Neither I nor my husband, who has never spoken with Lexington Law, except to make sure that his account was cancelled, forged anything. I contacted this company to ask questions about their services and to see if I could afford them. I explained my situation and my only source of income was my disability check each month. They seemed very understanding and supportive knowing that most people who contacted them were in a financial shortage and were trying hard just to make ends meet. So I agreed to try the services and explained that I didn't have the money to start until the 3rd of the next month. Well, that was all fine and they chose to go ahead and get my credit report right away and look at it. So I got my check but my bills were almost more than my check so that left me broke, actually I had gotten very ill for several weeks and I wasn't able to get out of bed for almost a solid month and I had to buy unexpected medicine so of course, that ran me short to say the least.
So after trying several times to get money from my account, they gave me a call to ask about my payment and I explained to them that I had been very ill and since it was the last month before Christmas, I needed them to put my case on hold until the first of the year then I would be able to continue with our agreement to follow through with my case. I asked them to please not to take a payment until January especially because I needed to get my grandsons at least one present for Christmas and this wasn't going to be much. So they agreed to wait until the first of the year and all was fine. As soon as my SSA check was deposited, they had a request already put in to withdraw two months of services that I hadn't even received. I thought I was going to die. They gave me their word that they would put my case on hold and they will wait until January to receive their payment.
To say the least, my grandsons didn't receive a gift from me at Christmas. My heart was broke, of course, they said it was okay and they understood. They sure didn't. This might not sound like it's a big deal to some people but it hurt me and of course, I lost all trust in this company that I had chose to work with. And they still had the nerve to continue to try and withdraw money from my account so I had to call and get a new card issued as soon as possible. They refused to give me my money back knowing that they had not put any time into my case except to get one of my credit reports which was 9.95. I told them to deduct that and issue me a refund before Christmas so I could do what I needed to for my boys. If they didn't rely on their ‘mamaw’ so much and had other family that bought for them, it may not have been so traumatic for me but they don't have one other single person in their life except for my sister and she's in the same financial shape I am.
Please forgive me for going on about this but if you can't trust anyone enough to be able to take them on their word then I don't believe their worth working with and don't deserve my hard earned money for services they have not performed. Too many people get rich off of the expense of unfortunate people that don't know how or are to afraid to speak up and defend themselves from these more upper class individuals with more education and wits about them. We go to these people for help and unfortunately get taken advantage of that’s why so many people stay stuck in the same rut all their lives.
I need your help getting my money back if for nothing else but to prove to these companies that they need to be more honest and caring for their clients like already they claim to be which is untrue or they wouldn't be so money hungry to get every dollar out of everyone they can no matter what they have to do to them and act like it's no big deal and that you'll get over it soon enough and they've already forgotten your name before you even hang up the phone. Can you help me?
Please let me know if you can or not. I'm very disappointed in these companies and the more it bears on my mind, the more I’m going to speak out about it. We need to protect the unprotected. Will you help? Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know it was a little long winded and I do apologize for that but I needed to get it out.

They told us that they could improve our credit score in as little as six months. I paid $9.99 for me and $9.99 for my husband to pull our credit report from all three of the major credit reporting companies. They only got one. Then I was charged on 10/19/09, $99.95 and $49.95 to begin with a real lawyer. After my score went even lower and I investigated further, I was charged for paper. On 12/27/09, I was charged again $89.00 for me and $89.00 for my husband. My service was cancelled on Nov. 11. Nothing was ever done. My account was at a zero balance. My credit score went lower and I feel like such a fool. How will I be able to go to work with no money for gas the next two weeks?

For 3 years in a row, they have been charging me $39.95 to have my credit file corrected and quite a few items removed because of incorrect information and I have paid the cost for 3 years and since May 2008, they agreed to $39.95 but arbitrarily started debited $59.95 per month but to no avail. No satisfying answers were given.

On July 1 05 I had requested information concerning credit repair service. I was contacted by the law firm and expained that they were a reputable firm and they could fix problems on my credit report. I explained that I had went through a service prior and was left holding the bag. The rep explained that they gaurantee that this service would work for me. He then talked me into the 99.00 plan and 59.00 per month. I was told all I had to do was send my credit reports and they would take care of the rest.
That very day I sent copies of my credit reports to them. I did not hear anything for 4 days. I finally got an email that stated they could not read my reports to please resend. I did that very moment. Again later I recieved a email we could not read the reports. I then called and left a message that this was not going to work I want to cancel. I then emailed as well. I never heard a word. I finally get an email on the 11th of July that the service was cancelled and I would not be drafted. On the 16th my account was drafted. I called and they said it was because they had already stated my case file.
They had done nothing for me and I was assured by the rep on the phone that if I was not completely satified I would get my money back as long as it was within a reasonable time. I cancelled within 11 days and nothing was ever done with my file. I will never trust another credit repair service again.
