This company is terrible. I never have had reliable internet. Recently I lost internet for days and when I called Viasat, they told me there was an outage in my area. After an hour or so, I checked the outage map and there were zero outages. I called back and they then told me I needed my satellite receiver repositioned. He said a technician couldn't come out for 3 days. After telling me the tech would be out between 8 and 11, he put me on hold and then hung up. I called back, the new guy told me the tech was scheduled for 11-2 (still 3 days out). After waiting on the day, I called after 2 came and went. The woman I spoke with said the appointment had not been made, there was an "error" on their end when they submitted the ticket, and there was nothing they could do until the error cleared itself. She said to call back in 7 days.

I asked why no one had called me to let me know and if they would call me after the error was fixed and she they can't call out and that no one would email or call. By the way- in addition to $120 per month for almost nonexistent internet, they are going to charge me $95 for a technician to come out. This company is the absolute worst. Do not throw away your money and time.

Technician falsely advertised the internet strength and the number of devices the service could reliably support. During installation, the technician also cut/disconnected the cable connected to our existing internet service, leaving our original wired setup unusable. The package included many TV channels, but the actual internet quality was terrible. Smart TVs struggled to stream properly, phones had spotty connectivity, and my computer often would not even detect the network as an available connection.

Customer service was also frustrating to deal with. We experienced long hold times, one call was disconnected unexpectedly, and after the installation issue caused our original internet service to stop working, we were told it would take 3–5 business days for a technician to return and repair the damaged connection. As a result, our household was left without reliable internet access because of the installation process itself, which left us all angry and restless. Overall, this was a very poor experience and we will not be using this service again.

I ordered Viasat satellite internet on Thursday 06/04/2026. I was quoted a bronze plan for $99.99 a month. He specifically asked how much TV I watch a day. I responded with 8 hours a day. I completely reassured me my plan would cover that. I'm 5 days in and it took me 4 hours to watch 1 movie. It kept losing internet connection and it spun several times through my movie. Also it kept starting my movie over from the beginning. I was quoted that it was unlimited data. I opened up the statement I got in my email (mind you it took much time for it to even open the pdf). I seen my data usage used since Saturday 06/06/2026 and it was over half gone. I also seen my plan is only 35 GB per 30 days. I called and told a supervisor I wasn't getting what the salesman promised. He said he would take $20 off my bill and give me 5 extra GB. I'm not pleased with the blatant lies I was told.

I am in the North DFW area, 35 miles north of Dallas. I'm in a pocket of unincorporated land out of city limits so satellite internet is the best option. My service with Viasat worked well for about two years from March of 2024 until recently. Several months ago, service became unreliable; with service dropping almost daily. After three service calls and numerous phone calls to Viasat trying to resolve the issues, I made the decision to change providers. I believe Viasat has oversaturated their network, and it's resulting in unreliable service for their customers. Viasat never gave me a reason for the unreliable service, but I do believe they know exactly what the problem is. If you need internet service I do NOT recommend Viasat. I am switching to Hughes / "Starlink" . . . My understanding is they have a new network / system and service will be reliable.

Horrible satellite service, but was only option. Out at least once a day, no matter weather. Bad weather forget it, service support automated mess. Then when I cancelled service due to moving, tech rep told me service was cancelled day I called. It was not, and had to call them AGAIN when they charged my account and was told it would be another month before it was terminated. Fortunately have multiple option to them at new location, didn't out in farm country of Decatur county.

Wow Viasat how many one star reviews can you get before someone does something over there in management. I have a customer with 500 locations and we tested it in one location. After only 30 days on a sunny warm quiet day the service went down. The modem shows Internet working but I am a network engineer and my laptop says no. I called to dispatch a tech and they tell me that costs $200 or $14 a month for life. They refuse to warranty their own product at 30 days. YOU JUST LOST A 500 SITE DEAL DUMMIES. My customer was disgusted with this and we are canceling to go with another provider for 500 SITES.

ViaSat was nothing but trouble. I signed up for them. They repeatedly would not take their bill at first and then tried to charge me extra. Then they told me I needed a service tech to come out to my house. He came out to my house and said he wasn't even needed because there's nothing he can do. Then they built me for the tech and would not refund me the money because they said it was needed when it wasn't, overcharged me for that, and then after I canceled service, they overcharged me again and I have to call them back complaining. ViaSat is nothing but trouble. Save yourself the aggravation. AT&T pretty much goes anywhere with their service, even out here in the middle of nowhere, so save yourself the aggravation and go with someone different.

So I just recently got Viasat. When I was on the phone with him I told them that I wanted unlimited data. They told me yes that's what I had. I found out about a week later that I didn't have unlimited data. I had 150 gigs a month and I told me you would slow down if I went past that. Well they kind of had an issue and somehow or another took a lot of people's data and I'm going to tell you something slow down is not the word for it. They took my data. It come to a screeching halt. That was nothing slow down. You couldn't do anything. It will go on and off on and off every couple of seconds so they lied to me about that. Then the guy that come installed the satellite told me the service was great and it wouldn't go out when it storms arranged and it seems to go out every time it storms rains.

He also lied to me and told me that they were supposed to come out after he got done a week later and buried the line that he ran to my satellite and then when they didn't show up I called ViaSat and the people told me that they took my information and it's somebody will be contacting me of a make appointment to when they come bury my lawn. Then I never got a phone call for several days so I called him again and somebody told me that that didn't come with the installation package that had to bury it myself so they lied to me again there. Then while I was on the phone with him to begin with in the beginning I asked him if they would take the lifeline program which will make your bill cheaper if you're on Medicaid or anything of that nature and they told me yes so I got approved for lifeline. I called them yesterday and they put in a thing for it.

I get a call yesterday afternoon telling me that you have to have a certain package and that package is not available in my area so they lied to me again there. These people lie. They do not know how to tell the truth about anything. They are a scam. I've got their internet still. When it works it's pretty good but the only reason I still have is because I have no other choice right now. As soon as Frontier or Verizon whichever one is going to be brings their fiber optic here I'm done with Viasat. If you don't have to do not get their service find somebody else.

Had Viasat for 3 years since there were no options in my location. Finally another internet provider serviced our area. I cancelled my service and was told I needed to return the leased equipment. I Requested the packaging since they will not accept the equipment back unless it is in their boxes. I received a disconnect notice and I called to get tracking on my return boxes. They have not been sent yet, mind you I have 30 days from disconnect to return the equipment.

On the call I am told that the boxes can take 10+ days to arrive. They hide behind the legal disclosure that you agree to when you first start their service saying 30 days from disconnect... They fail to state that they are not bound to provide timely shipping or provide tracking details. When I asked for a tracking # to be sent, they said I can call back tomorrow. I foresee I will be charged for the equipment regardless if I return it or not because I am not given adequate support to return. BTW, the service is slow and unreliable during a storm. When I called to cancel they stated if I stay a customer they would discount my fees. Such poor service at a premium cost

I had Viasat for at least 3 years. A storm hit in March and we lost internet signal. We called and had to wait 2 weeks for a "tech" to come realign the dish. After waiting 2 weeks the tech came and said there is nothing he can do as he can not get on the roof and realign the dish. I was confused as they installed the dish on my roof. He said we used to be able to get on the roof but the company won't let us anymore. I would think that would be part of getting internet installed.... I had him cancel my service and he told me they would send me a box to send their equipment back in. No box ever came but they continued to bill my card for internet I didn't have.

When I called and said I wasn't paying for a service I didn't have because they couldn't provide it, they would not refund my money. I don't want to even give a one star. As far as I am concerned this is theft. Taking money for a service they couldn't provide. Go anywhere else for internet as this company is not honest. HORRIBLE!!

Where do I begin!?!? I called to cancel my service due to the horrible, poor, slow, forever buffing non working internet. The rep was as professional as he could be. He started asking me a LOT of questions like what was my purpose for having internet, who am I going to have for internet now, and how many devices did I have to go with my plan. First of all, he isn't with sales or was there when the sales team LIED through their teeth about how wonderful their Viasat is. Our internet was so slow that it would take 2 - 3 hrs to watch 1 1/2 hour movie. When I called about this I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Yet, for more money, they can offer me a better package with less lag!!! Imagine that, they can offer faster service for more money but can't fix my slow internet at the level I'm at now!!! I was already paying $178 a month for unlimited!!!

I was paying for the dish insurance so if a tech needed to come out to service it, I wouldn't be charged the $95. Now Viasat refused to refund me any money for the portion paid for and not used. I canceled service 4/16/26. They decided that since I'm paid up until 4/23/26 that's when my cut off date will be. They also want to charge me for removing the dish on my roof. They told me that I need to get a piece off from the dish to return it to them. That will be a $95 dollar fee. This is a horrible internet service on all levels. I would rather go without internet then deal with them. I had a remote job I lost because they promised me it would be fine for remote work, it wasn't. Every single one of their claims is a BIG FAT LIE!!! They're so expensive and worth nothing!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS, MONEY, TIME!!!

So, I detached my card assuming the account would be closed down. A year later I get a notice of the account getting suspended for non-payment... IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED. They're saying it's a valid bill even though it was notated that the account was to be closed.
