This company is only focused on the SELL, SELL, SELL. If you try and reach customer service you will be SWAMPED with offers while you wait endlessly for help and assistance. They know not what they do. There are so many companies out there that understand that being responsive will end not only in sales but long-term relationships. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST THEM AND THAT IS THE TRUTH.

I contacted Living Social on December 11, 2015 to start a campaign to promote my new business. I gave them all relevant information about my business and was told that within a few days, I would receive a mock-up campaign to approve. By the next week, I hadn't and it is now January 23, 2016 and I still haven't. The hold-up is that my state of PA does not regulate my business or issue licenses. I have provided them with my professional liability insurance certificate and all the information that is legally required in my state. I have explained many, many times that my business is unregulated in PA, provided web links to legal info, phone numbers, and they- a company with a LEGAL department can't confirm the obvious facts and continue to ask me for documentation after I have explained ad nauseum, that there isn't any because it isn't issued at the state or local level.
The people I have spoken to are mannerly and pleasant but this has so far been an exercise in frustration, and futile to boot. I told them that I will walk away on Feb 11 (figuring that if it doesn't happen in 60 days, it never will, and trying to be patient). I do not recommend Living Social for merchants if your business info doesn't fit neatly into their intake algorithm. It worked for my friend but it's not working for me. I appreciate Living Social vetting the merchant but this has gone beyond vetting to another level where I feel like there is either an organization issue, or something... I'm very disappointed.

I ordered some solar lights through LivingSocial, from Touch of Eco. There is an additional 3.99 S&H fee that has to be paid directly to Touch of Eco, rather than through LivingSocial. I think I know why... So they can charge you for more items! When you finalize your order to pay the 3.99 fees, it takes you through a bunch of other screens asking you if you want to purchase additional items - the default is yes. So clicking 'continue' automatically adds the item to your 3.99 order... You have to click 'no' not to have them added. Then when you've gone through all their ads, it just finalizes everything... No review or anything first, just says your card will be charged. Can't edit order or email them - you can only call during weekdays 9-5 or send regular mail for customer service. If you order online, you should be able to get customer service online!!! Or at least review everything before they complete your order and charge you.

I purchased a LivingSocial coupon on the 5th of October to have a picture taken of my great niece. We took her to Rubi's and Diamonds on the 7th of October. I didn't order a large order of pictures. I just wanted the single picture for $25. I was told that the picture would be ready within three weeks. It is now December 2nd and I not only don't have the picture, but Rubi isn't responding to my emails requesting the photo. I would not recommend this company to deal with as they are unreliable.

My daughter tried to buy a pair of hockey tickets online advertised for $40 each. After she entered in her payment information and clicked to make the purchase, the next screen showed she had actually paid $149 for the tickets. She is disputing the purchase tomorrow and they may issue credit. I looked at the sequence of the purchase and it was sketchy at best. Seemed very vague and not set up the way other reputable sites are where you have to almost give a blood sample to complete a purchase.

I was solicited by LivingSocial, the purchase of presale tickets for Cirque du Soleil's TORUK at $32 a seat. When I clicked on the purchase tab, I was immediately redirected to what was supposed to be Cirquedusoleil.com site, which then re-directed me to "Ticketmaster". There were no seats for the event for $32. After selecting the price selector on the site. I ended up having to pick the $55 seats, $23.00 more per ticket. After they add on the service charge, convenience charge, and the management surcharge, I paid $75.00 a ticket X 5 tickets was $375. What a scam. If you're going to advertise tickets at the unrealistic, unobtainable price of $32.00, make sure you include in your "fine" print, all the ridiculous surcharges which comes close to doubling the real cost of the event tickets. Never again.

We ordered a anytime cleaning for our 4 bedroom house for $89, which is ridiculously cheap. They said however it was a promotion for prospective future business so we took the deal. They came 3 hours late, only spend an hour cleaning the house, then promptly left. They didn't mop the floors or completely dust. We've had maid service about 6 times before and never anything this bad. "You get what you paid for."

I had purchased a deal from LivingSocial for Match.com that went wrong (on Match.com's side, NOT LivingSocial's fault). Not only did the LivingSocial rep listen to the problem, she went so far as to call THEIR customer service representative to fight on my behalf and when that failed (to her frustration as well as mine), she offered to refund my money (even though it wasn't LivingSocial's fault AT ALL) in addition to adding credit to my account for future use, solely for the frustration of dealing with match.com and advised me that she would be writing to her superiors regarding the matter. I could not have asked for better customer service - possibly the BEST I've received in a long time. Kudos to LivingSocial, you have a thing or ten you could teach match on customer satisfaction and retention.

I bought a deal for Raw Canvas for me and 3 friends. We booked our reservation but kept having to cancel due to conflicting schedules. We knew that we would forfeit the deal if we didn't use it before it expires, but accepted to just apply the deal amount we purchased it for at a later date, which is their policy. I then found out that the company had gone out of business. According to the LivingSocial website, they will refund your money if this happened. Upon calling LivingSocial, apparently Raw Canvas had marked our voucher as "used" as we had made a reservation, but had never actually gone. Because of this, they could not reimburse me my money. Now I am out $180, because of a small error on the company's behalf. Will never purchase from LivingSocial again. Very, very upset!

Sick of Living Social advertising injectables at discount rates that are not correct. When I phoned the company, they quoted the special based on the full price of Botox (Allergan). But they are not! Botox is normally around $11 to $14. Dysport around $4 to $6. Phoned Ooh la la in Surfers Paradise. 20 units special $119 normally $280. When you call after you spend several minutes trying to get them to admit it's Dysport, won't even call it by name (they call it product D!). They give you the ridiculous answer that product D is normally $11 and Botox $14. I have never been quoted $11 for Dysport anywhere. Always between $4 to $6.
If Living Social is going to offer Specials, they should at least make sure they are genuine. So many of these sites are now doing this, and when you check they are around the normal price. Are they so desperate to get specials to load up they will accept anything? Not fair, they should confirm that a discount is a genuine discount.

So we were going to use a few weeks later before it expired. When we went to print it out, it said it was used on February 11th, which is strange cause I remember it saying we couldn't use it that week. We called LivingSocial to ask why it said it was used, they called the manager at Martini Grill, who said yes we used it & even had money left over!!! Really, I hope we enjoyed our meal, considering WE never used it. Now LivingSocial told us to call the Martini Grill ourselves to investigate!! Really, this is how you solve this problem!! I purchased purchased five "gift" certificates for Hello Fresh from Living Social. In order to buy the gift certificates, I had to subscribe to Hello Fresh. Living Social gave assurances that the "gift" certificates were a one-time purchase for the giftee and would not require any further purchases. I just spoke to my daughter who received her first box from Hello Fresh this week. She was told by Hello Fresh that these were not "gift" certificates (my account calls them "gifted vouchers") but were an introductory price to the required subscription of $69.95 per week and that she could not redeem the "gift" without starting a subscription. I have now had to advise her as to how game the system (put the regular weekly deliveries on hold for several weeks and then go back into the account and cancel the subscription next week).
This is a bait-and-switch approach to selling the Hello Fresh subscription and Living Social clearly did not do its homework (bad customer service) or they deliberately lied to get people to buy their so-called gifted vouchers. Now, I have to make sure that all of my children and the other person to whom I gave the one other additional "gift" know that this is how they are going to have handled the situation. Three of the individuals are young and cash poor. I gave these "gifts" as a treat - they certainly cannot afford to pay the weekly $69.95 subscription fee that is going to hit their bank accounts almost as soon as they place their first order. It was never my intent to force the people I gave these "gifted vouchers" to sign up for a subscription; otherwise, I would NEVER have purchased these in the first place as I am not a fan of any subscription service.
Living Social - get your act together. Publish CORRECT information and if a vendor lies to you, then never promote them EVER again. Also, stick up for your customers - that's why it is called CUSTOMER service (not VENDOR service). It's unlikely after this experience I will ever purchase anything through you again because I cannot trust your promotions.

I am so furious right now with LivingSocial, Inc. I made my first complaint with them on Oct 2, 2014 about how my brother never received a gift voucher to a restaurant nearby that I had purchased on August 29, 2014 to be delivered to my brother's email address on Sept. 1, 2014. While I was waiting for their response, I had to take the time out to retrace what had happened by locating the Tweet I had made about the great deal in order to link back to the offer. After digging deep to look through my account on LivingSocial, I found the voucher, downloaded it and immediately emailed it to my brother along with a note from me saying, "better late than never" and was quite disappointed that he never got to read the original birthday note.
After a bit of time, customer service finally responded making up a lame excuse that it's my fault for not applying his email in the first place. Since I was traveling throughout Colombia at the time, I remember vividly that I entered his email, followed by entering the delivery date: September 1, 2014 and a personal birthday message. If I had supposedly forgotten to apply his email, then how would the system accept the delivery date and my message? Like with most electronic surveys or forms, you're usually redirected and asked to fill out the most important missing information. While I appreciated them asking if I still wanted them to email the voucher to my brother, I didn't get the notion that I needed to reply back or else the voucher would get cancelled altogether. Instead, I just ignored the email because at that point, I was just glad my brother had the voucher in his hand.
Fast forward to this past weekend, my brother and wife finally tried to use the voucher. After a wonderful meal, they whipped out their LivingSocial gift voucher from their sister (me) and what happens next? The waitress returns to show them a message that read, "Please let the customer know that you are not able to honor this voucher because a refund was requested and issued to the customer on 10/7/14." What a lie! I never requested for a refund, and to make matters even worse, I checked my Paypal account and as of today, November 16th, 2014 - almost 40 days since the gift voucher was supposedly cancelled and refunded on October 7th, 2014, I see no refund.
What was supposed to be a surprise for my brother turned out to be the biggest gift-giving disaster of my life, spending my personal time brewing over how pissed off I am with how things turned out in the end, and above all, how much emotional energy I have spent already on this HUGE disappointment from LivingSocial, Inc. This has been embarrassing on all accounts: for me, for my brother and my sister-in-law and the waitress.
I am beyond irate and really expected this to be handled immediately to my satisfaction, beyond a refund that will make up for my vested energy, time, my brother and sister-in-law's effort to find a babysitter, their meal that they had to pay for, and embarrassment inflicted. All they could do was refund me and give me extra credit to my Living Social account which I'm probably not going to get to use anyway since I don't trust them, their back end system, their weak business operations and tactics.

Living Social has gotcha business practices. They will charge your card before applying a promotional discount and showing you the final price. On their escapes website, they have the following statement where you enter the promo code and click the buy button. "Your promo code will be applied to your transaction when you click 'buy now', if there is a problem we will let you fix it before charging your card." DO NOT BELIEVE THIS, IT MEANS NOTHING. I clicked on to see the final price for an advertised 25% CYBER Monday discount which in fine print had a $25 limit on the email solicitation. If you missed it there before going to the website you did not know about the limit.
I ended up purchasing a non-refundable hotel booking without seeing the final price in spite of their statement. Living Socials customer response is basically TS "it is non-refundable based on our printed policies, we won't do anything". Oh yea that policy above which is right there where you make your purchase they don't follow that one. After contacting them several times, the last time through my credit card company only after pointing out that they were NOT following the above policy, they grudgingly offered another $25 credit to my card which would get it to about half the discount was expecting. But guess what, I have been checking my online credit card transactions and they haven't done that either.
It should be required that you be given the final amount of the purchase prior to authorizing the purchase and a merchant should not be allowed to put a statement that implies that you are not at the final step such as Living Social does. I was misled into making a purchase when I just attempting to get the final price with the promotional discount in order to decide whether I wanted to make the purchase.

I showed them the coupon and told them it did not say for purchase of "frames and lenses". I was told "too bad". I contacted Living Social and they contacted the vendor and then Living Social told me they were sorry.
The young lady agreed with me that the coupon was unclear and that it happens all the time. I asked her to get a refund but they would not give me a refund. I went to my bank but too much time had passed. Now I am stuck with a 70.00 credit I do not want to use. I suggest before making a purchase of this kind to call the vendor, but I really feel a business like this should not be used. I have moved my coupon purchasing over to Groupon instead.

Long story short, I got a hold of someone at the massage place. LivingSocial didn't do anything to help in the end. Although the issue has been resolved, I still wouldn't deal with LivingSocial. I strongly suggest all of you to stay the hell away from LivingSocial as I have seen many bad things associated with them.

I bought a massage deal this early September and just called the merchant to schedule an appointment. The merchant refused to pick up my calls nor return them. They never returned my emails. When I confronted Living Social about it, they said they couldn't refund my money because the merchant isn't out of business and refund will only be honored within 7 days after the deal purchase. That is deceiving and unfair.
If I paid for something and I couldn't use it, why do Living Social keep my money? Also, Living Social should screen all the merchants before they sell any deals for them. In my case, Living Social is working with the merchant to scam people. The deal is still on, and they refused to remove it. I want my money back. I don't recommend anyone doing business with Living Social if they don't want to lose their money.

On July 25 we purchased a weekend escape to the Whale Walk Inn on Cape Cod. The deal was $384 for the weekend (we even purchased the more expensive room). As always before purchasing anything like this I read the Fine Print as well as the Additional Terms. Since the purchase of our voucher, we have attempted at least 8-9 times to book a room - either during the week or on the weekend. We were not specific as to timing. However, every time we called the hotel to book our weekend, the room of which the package was allocated to was conveniently booked. However, if we still wanted to visit the hotel, we could purchase another room for an additional $132 - $164/night. If we tried to book for another time, it was always at least 3 weeks out. Problem being with that - there is a 14-day cancellation policy. And if you cancel the room - you pay a penalty and are subject to losing the voucher rate.
Living Social documented NONE of this in their fine print or additional terms. Due to extenuating circumstances, we could not book something with a 14-day cancellation - typically these are 24-48 hours? In trying to resolve this with Living Social, you only reach a customer rep who cannot elevate the situation and cannot help. Living Social offers a 30-day money back to which we did not meet as we tried to no end to use this escape we purchased. Now - we have no escape and are out $384. Living Social has a Corporate Headquarters in DC, but that phone number goes to a voice mail. Try to go to the Secretary of State site to get a number in our city of Boston, they go under another name and that number does not work either. All attempts to reach Living Social are roadblocked.
The only email we have received from Living Social as their attempt to resolve this was "We're sorry to hear this did not work out for you". How can a so-called legitimate company have no consumer affairs department, nor have a working phone number where you can reach someone who will actually help to resolve an issue. Especially something they sold us! Unreal to think companies can get away with this stuff. Sell you something that can't be used.... As well - shame on the hotel! If you have other rooms available, why would you not let us have one of those?? Why do we have to pay more because the 1 room you allocated at this rate is booked?? Both parties are guilty in this. But someone has our money and we want it back!

I bought a voucher for singing lessons from Living Social on Livingsocial.com. In order to use the voucher, I was to contact The Music Practice in Glasgow, which proved to be impossible as they never answered their phone. Upon realizing this, I tried to phone Living Social numerous times, but no one in their Customer Service department answered. I don't even know if they exist. I then sent a few requests on their website (each subsequent one because the previous one was unanswered). I also emailed them and similarly got ignored.
Eventually, I turned to Facebook (believe it or not) to prompt them to get back to me. Finally, they did, but have basically lied and said they never received any previous correspondence from me, and that because the voucher they sent has since expired they will not refund me. It is for £35, and although not a huge amount of money, it is still almost a day's wage for me at the moment. To sum of all this up, I have paid for something which I believe may not exist, and certainly I didn't receive. Please, can you help me? Thanks.

I purchased two vouchers for $30 each that had a telephone number to call to schedule an appointment. I called this number through 2011 and never got a call back. I notified Living Social and asked for a refund or Living Social bucks, they refused saying I had to cancel anything I purchased within 5 days, but never addressed the fact that I can't get in touch with the salon to make an appointment. This happened with another Living Social voucher I purchased from them, the company voice mail would not take messages, but referred me to their website where there was not a link to get in touch with them.

I purchased a vacation deal for $150.00 but returned it the next day of purchase. I called their help/ support line and requested for a refund. I was assured to get my money back 7-10 days. I called it in last Nov. 19, 2010. Up until today (12-09-2010), I have not heard anything from them or get my refund check. I also tried to contact them via email & phone several times and all I get was an automated email response system. I wrote a letter to their CEO regarding this matter and mailed it today.
