We have had insurance with Traveler's for our home. This summer we had roof damage and had leaked in our daughter's bedroom. We had to replace the roof and turned it into insurance. Today, December 29 we got a letter that they are cancelling our coverage because of the claim. Thank you very much for nothing!

When benefit payout percentages were drastically reduced and when benefit payouts were stopped, claims manager NEVER sent out notices. Claimant found out of changes the hard way only when checks received were of reduced amounts and when checks stopped arriving all together. You would think that a notice would be sent out notifying the claimant of such changes THE DAY the changes came into effect... Or ideally before the changes come into effect so as to forewarn claimant as to impending changes so claimant can prepare for them. I would NEVER recommend Travelers Insurance to anyone nor to any business!!!

On icy roads, my son started to slide. AS he was STILL sliding, the car behind him was following too close and ran in to him on his back end. The guy told the insurance, he had nowhere else to go and so they said it was 100% my son's fault. They never came out to see his car or even to see where it happened or anything. My husband called the adjuster that had called my son and asked him to call him to talk about it and he never returned the call. Then, they canceled our insurance, stating that accident and the fact that my husband had hit 3 deer within 14 months. HELLO, that is comprehensive out of our control. They didn't care, even though we had been with them 7 years - never paid late and never had any other claims, then that plus one more deer my son hit 5 years ago.

My son has had home and vehicle coverage for over 5 years. He just filed his first claim for $1000.00 for damage done at his home. After 3 months and 50 phone calls they finally paid the $1000.00. The next month his rate went up $65.00 a month. They had the nerve to tell him they raised his rates because he filed a claim. It would have been cheaper for him to just pay the $1000.00 out of his pocket.

I want my story to be told by the national TV Channels. We need to stop this racket! Probably many Minnesotans remember August 6th 2013 Hail - tennis size hail balls hitting cars and houses. Unfortunately my neighborhood was in a middle of it in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The situation: 100% of my neighbors' constructions are long done: roofs, sidings, windows. My twin home neighbor waited for me till the last minute and even got extensions from his insurance on completing the work. He will be done in days with his house: roof, windows, sunroom, siding. 100s of neighbors are done too. Except me. The main difference - Travelers insurance Company.

I have been with Travelers for both auto and home since 2012. Have never missed a payment. I got in a wreck and called my insurance to find out they cancelled my policy 6 months ago to a non payment. I was confused since my payment is on auto pay through my credit card. Come to find out they had an error on their end so it had nothing to do with my card. So I didn't have coverage since May. I was beyond pissed. All they said was "We mailed you a letter, we don't have to do anything else to let you know". So now my car has damages and I have no way to pay for it all because they cancelled my policy.
Don't ever get Travelers, they will cancel your policy anytime and not tell you. Seriously I promise you will regret this forever. I can't believe I have had them since 2012 and this is what happened. If you get this company you will pay every month for nothing and then when you need your insurance you will find out they cancelled your policy because their accounting had an issue. As you know a gap in your insurance causes a huge rate increase. They told me to keep my coverage I would have to pay 60.00 more per month. So not only do I have car damages at my own expense I now have to pay more per month. They are crazy!
I found a new company and they are amazing! They send text and email if there is ever an issue with your payment. I strongly advise only going with an insurance company that notifies you other than snail mail!!! Please let's put Travelers out of business, if you have them please leave them before this happens to you. It's crazy because they lost my home coverage also. Now I moved that.

Travelers is the absolute worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have dealt with a few different insurance companies and this by far disgusts me. I called to get a quote about me and my fiance joining our coverage. She has Progressive and I have Traveler's. I contact both insurance companies to see if we moved in together how much they would change to. Progressive did the right thing and gave us a quote and did not change a thing. On the other hand Traveler's took it upon themselves to change my policy, add her to it and have the nerve to tell me that they can do that without my permission because I said we were going to live together. We DO NOT live together and now I have to go through 101 steps just to get my rate back to what it was.
Not only that I had to pay this rate or face a late fee charge and when I asked if they would reimburse my money they said they would take it off the next payment. I do not want it off of my next payment, I want my money back NOW!! Not only is this very inconvenient and a burden but I have other things I need to be doing like working and taking care of a newborn. This is the last thing I need to be dealing with. I am already stressed enough. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THIS COMPANY! I am switching companies immediately. Every person I have spoken to there is extremely rude and seems to get an attitude with you when you bring up that other insurance companies did not jack up my rates when I asked for a simple quote. If I could I would do everything in my power to make sure this company went out of business and I honestly would rather not have insurance than deal with these people!

My husband had his workman's comp insurance for his small business with Travelers and it was an absolute nightmare from day 1. They set him up with what they told him he needed for coverage, and we trusted that they did this based on their experience in insurance. They performed annual audits, which THEY would cancel, then cancel his policy due to his "lack of cooperation", then tell us to disregard the cancellation, it was their mistake and reinstate the policy. They would tell us what we needed to be prepared for the audits and when they would come out, it was always the same horrible miserable woman, who was rude and would tell us we didn't have the other information she needs (which was never mentioned).
Cancel, reinstate, over and over again. Constant calls complaining to Travelers for all this and every time we were told to ignore the notices and constant late fees, when we paid on time every month. Paying for policies that they cancelled, because they were double billing, etc! The final straw was the final audit, when the company had done better than it had been in the past and they sent us a bill for $34,000. We have battled with them and no one will help us. They put my husband in collections and his credit is now shot. Never ever ever do business with this horrible company. Even with emails to prove they are wrong, they still wouldn't listen. They are horrible people!!

Rebeka asked me why I had 2 houses and if I was selling my house and I told her yes but not soon. She said that Travelers does not offer insurance to people that will be selling their houses. I told her that I was still living in the house and that I wasn't moving for 6-12 months. However they told me that they did not want my business. I call her supervisor, Michelle, and she said the same. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

What I received was a letter from Travelers stating I needed to landscape and paint my home and basically what I could store in my garage. That's where all the evidence is. Now I find out even after I paint the house, landscape etc. Travelers is going to drop me anyway. Also a man named Jim **, our local plumbing inspector told me he spoke to my insurance company. He told me he put his man Jason on the job. Why would plumbing inspectors have anything to do with a vandalism request.

My parents had their auto insurance through Travelers so I decided to look them up because my current premium was too high. Travelers quoted me for about 1/3 of what I was currently paying. I was pretty excited. I went ahead and purchased the policy and cancelled my current policy with Allstate. A week or two later I received a call from Travelers to verify my information. The representative noticed some inconsistencies with my driving experience as well as my wife's. I had lost my driver's license and got a replacement over a year earlier. They had the date of issue for the replacement as the date I got my license. Why? That put me under 5 years of experience. I gave them the correct date and they fixed it. However, they didn't reduce my premium to reflect my experience, which is now greater than 5 years. For my wife, they had the date she obtained her permit as the date that she got her license. Again why and how? After fixing that mistake, she came in under 2 years of experience driving. But of course, they increased the premium because of this while they didn't lower anything because of the mistake they had for me.
All the dates were correctly given during the quote so I don't understand how they got any dates wrong. It just felt like a sham. Felt like they had the correct information all along, which I gave them, but used wrong dates during the verification process to up the premium. The low quote price was the bait, the verification was the switch. Shady! The premium was now only a few dollars less than my previous policy but I had already cancelled it so I said oh well, learn and move on.
That wasn't the end of it. I renewed with Travelers after 6 months. They had lowered the premium considerably down to about 1/3 of what I was currently paying. I was pretty happy. Well, a few months go by and I receive a letter from them. It states that my wife and I were "high risk" customers and they would be dropping coverage at the end of the policy period. My wife and I are perfect drivers. We've never had an accident or even a ticket. I with 7+ years of accident/ticket free driving and my wife with now over 2 years of accident/ticket free driving were considered "high risk" by Travelers. They were going to transfer our insurance to our state's "high risk pool". Plus they were going to drop our collision coverage for the remainder of the policy period. This was unacceptable because one of our cars was still under financing. Fed up with Travelers, I switched to another insurance company, a reputable one with many years of good business practices for less than what I was currently paying Travelers. Lesson learned: stick to highly rated insurance companies which Travelers is not.

Recently my wife and I received a call from our ins agent informing us that our insurance policy would be canceled through Travelers due to our recent separation/divorce. NEWS to us!!! So when I called Travelers to find out what's going on they again informed me that the policy would be canceled because of our split, (again news to me). I explained that we were not going through a separation or a divorce. They now told me that it all stemmed from when my son was involved in an auto accident in Dec of 13, and I now have to talk with the claims dept. Claims has no clue what's going - still no answer on how it even appeared or who put it in the system. After about 2 yrs of back and forth with people they still have no answer of who did it or why but my policy will be reinstated. Moral of this story is if you have Travelers Ins or thinking of getting Travelers Ins make sure you don't talk about getting a separation or a divorce. They will cancel your ins. We will be changing ins companies after this. Ty.

I have had Traveler's for both auto and home insurance for several years. My homeowner's policy premium has more than doubled in three years, starting in 2012, and I have never made a claim. I have shopped around for a better rate, and have found that in general, rates have risen across the board with all companies. Travelers tells me it is because of tornado and hail damage in other parts of the state (Tennessee), but this does not ring true. We have hail and a tornado in some part of the state almost every year but my rates never increased prior to 2012. I can only conclude they are hiding something - the increase is too large, from less than $600 a year, to more than $1,200. I can only wonder at what the poor people who made a claim have to pay.

I am a bit disappointed on their lag time and I am not sure why they took the $15.91. You may wish to advise people coming from Travelers to cancel the policy immediately while you process the new account. This was not a good experience. During this time, they did not return any of my calls or respond to my emails.

In six years of having my home insurance policy, I have had two claims for water damage in the house not significant but nevertheless requiring the help of professional plumbers and builders to restore the damage and accordingly my policy fee has been increased every year not just by a few dollars but by hundreds of dollars. This year unbeknownst to us, we had an infestation of termites which had come up through those sealed front porches which are over dirt and into a window frame of the house and only showed up when they swarmed out.
Well, I didn't know that this was not covered on our policy but called them up and they stated they would send someone out to take a look. Well they knew very well that they did not cover that damage so why send someone. Anyway, that someone then proceeded to walk all around the perimeter of our home taking photographs of everything in site without my permission. She was caught taking photographs of our new kitchen and countertops, etc. through our kitchen windows and also took photos of the outside fences and roof and when challenged said it was standard procedure.
Now I have received a new policy which is $329 increased and a letter stating I must provide proof that I have had the work done on my house to repair the termite damage as well as provide proof that I had our water leaks repaired 6 years ago. Well, if they didn't cover the termite damage why must I provide proof that I fixed it? Anyway, I have been with Geico for 21 years with the cars and it was them who suggested Travelers when I bought this house but I will be cancelling this policy. Of course I was told that Georgia State had put up the rates too but I can't believe they put them up again this year by that amount of money.
This house insurance is becoming a scam and there needs to be an investigation into it. If the States are adding to our premiums then the companies need to start advising us on their documentation. And they also need to stop sending snooping agents to our homes to take photographs for their records. There may be many people who scam insurance companies but I am not one of them and have had few claims in my 67 years of life.

I have been with Travelers for 15+ years with only one other claim on 2005. My renewal was denied. When I had the last windshield replacement, I called Travelers to make sure that this wouldn't affect my policy or prices - they assured me it wouldn't. Well, I must have talked to the wrong department because the underwriter said they had no proof of it. They said if I talked to the claims department, they don't know what affects policies. Is that my responsibility? I am very disappointed in this company. Does loyalty mean nothing? Already found another company with better coverage and less expensive. Completely disgruntled.

My deductible is 1% of my home's value, so I was thinking he was going to say, "Don't file because your deductible is higher than the claim," but that wasn't it at all. He said I had damage to the roof, "But that's called MAINTENANCE, and it's your dollar!". I changed the pay date years ago to get an automatic deduction from my checking account when my social security payment was deposited automatically by the government. The top managers in the Atlanta, GA office know little with regard to their expertise and have no experience with managing people. One woman who has been there since the rapture is clueless when it comes to handling our customers with the only void in her personality that is more lacking is her ability to create morale and positive relationships. I was the top producing adjuster in AL one year with meeting company matrix and it took its toll. You cannot be an adjuster for this company unless you want to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week for little pay and zero congratulations.
Travelers Insurance care less about their customers than they do their staff. Drink that last sentence in. They want to work their adjusters to death then bring in new inexperienced adjusters who know nothing about coverages or writing an estimate for property damage. I work for a new carrier now and it is a pleasure to come to work. The management staff is geared toward positive reinforcement without screaming at their staff the way Travelers' supervisors do. I am outraged by my experience over the past five months regarding Travelers. The claim is for damages caused by the explosion of a water heater in an upper unit in my condominium building. The uncontained water spillage resulted in serious damages to my apartment as well as to five other units. Whereas the condominium building’s master policy insurance assessed and partially settled some of the damages in two weeks, it took my Travelers insurance two weeks to simply show up and another five months to have a knowledgeable person contact me by telephone. And this only happened after I issued a complaint to a Traveler’s VP, Eric Nelson.
In addition to unacceptable customer service, including twice losing my receipts and contractors information, Travelers tried on several occasions to obtain the terms of the settlement with the condominium building’s master policy insurance from my building manager without asking me first. The manager refused to share this private information and advised Travelers to contact me. I do understand the need for Travelers to investigate the claims and support the efforts. However, I find the act of trying to secure clients’ private data from a third party unprofessional and unacceptable. I was outraged when Travelers replied: “This is a procedure often used by our insurance claim representatives, and considered natural part of the Investigation.”
I have been a loyal customer of Travelers Insurance for several years through my car and home owners’ insurance. I expect better quality service. Instead, I received poor quality services at a time when I needed them to deliver the service for which I paid. I trust this complaint will be investigated and remain open to answer any questions.

I had 3 separate home claims due to water-related damage, one in February, July & Nov. 2011. There was no one home when 2 of these incidents happened. Each time, I paid my $1000 deductible. I also had 2 vehicle claims in December 2011 with a $500 deductible each, one when my car was broken into, items stolen & damage done. The second was 2 weeks later when someone backed into my car in a private parking lot. It was ruled a "no fault" accident and I wouldn't have worried about it but I was trying to sell my vehicle and a big dent on the rear quarter panel wasn't a strong selling point. Travelers tried to cancel me and said I need someone to inspect the roof even though none of the claims involved the roof.
I had a contractor come in and inspect it and issue the letter they needed to continue covering me. I ended up selling my car in April 2012 & leased a new car. Travelers was way too high so I got auto insurance with someone else but left my home insured with Travelers. I thought everything was okay until I got home yesterday, October 23, 2012, and saw the letter from them saying they were not going to renew my policy and I had 30 days to find new insurance. The reason on the letter was due to the 3 claims on the home in 2011, even though I have never had any claims up until that point nor after. There was no contact number on the letter. It said to contact my agent and I had 30 days to send in a written request for additional information. I'm supposed to shop for insurance & write a letter requesting more info. It seems like they are hoping people won't bother & will just walk away.
I contacted my mortgage company to see when they mailed the last payment for insurance from my escrow account to Travelers. I was told they sent a check in January 2012 and it was returned. Then I asked why didn't my mortgage company or insurance company notify me in January that they had no intentions of renewing my policy. My mortgage company said that it was my insurance company's responsibility to notify me which they did, 30 days before it expires but they knew in January, 8 months prior to the letter I got yesterday that they were not going to renew due to the returned payment. This all seem super shady to me. There should be laws against them dropping you after a claim and not notifying you as soon as they know they are going to drop you. They never had any problems as long as they were getting my money and I didn't have any claims.
Remind me again why we have to have insurance - to give someone my hard-earned money as long as I don't have something beyond my control happen and actually have to file a claim? My mortgage company advised me that if I can't find someone to write a policy for me, they will do it but it will cost me about 3 times what my current policy cost. Why does this feel like a total violation? I fought for 2-1/2 years to get my home loan modified after going through a horrible, long & drawn out divorce so that I could continue to provide a stable home for my kids who have already been through so much (this is the only home they have known) and now this! If my insurance triples, my payments will be back to where they were before the modification and I will lose my home. This is horrible. Shame on the insurance companies that won't look at the big picture.

My insurance is being cancelled by Travelers Insurance because of claims that I filed due to circumstances beyond my control - weather in Oklahoma, hail damage on roof, water damage under floor because of water lines leakage. Now, I can't find an insurance company to insure me. I am eighty years old, have lived in my home for 19 years, and cannot buy insurance in Oklahoma. What am I supposed to do? I’m hoping there is some organization here that can help me. If so, please send me information via email. Insurance cancels on 9/29/12. Please give this complaint immediate attention. Thank you.

1. Travelers Insurance Company, representing Mr. Jay ** and the City of Burlington, failed to negotiate fairly and reasonably for reparation regarding the “Personal Injury Claim” portion as set out in the plaintiff’s demand letter of the 30th of October 2011.
2. In September Mr. Jay ** of Travelers Insurance, who titles himself “Technical Specialist”, acting for the defendants, made an offer of $4,000 (over the phone) in respect of the Personal Injury portion of the claim **. The plaintiff agreed to Travelers sending the release forms and the offer they had made in writing, which they did on the 23rd of September. On receipt of the offer, it was extremely unclear as to just what the $4,000 related to, and a request was made in writing on the 23rd of September for clarification and a breakdown of the offer. On the 28th of September Mr. Jay ** called and left a message seeming to imply that he believed we had reached a verbal agreement of $4,000 when in actual fact our agreement was that he send the information regarding the offer of $4,000. On the 7th of October, the plaintiff again sent an email asking for a breakdown of the offer and also asking for acknowledgment of receipt of that email. On October 7th Mr. Jay ** again called on the phone and left a message asking the plaintiff to call him back. At this point the plaintiff emailed Mr. Jay ** and asked him to communicate anything of consequence in writing, as he sensed Jay’s reticence to set down anything clearly for the two interested parties to negotiate.
3. This request seemed to initiate a sever lack of response from Travelers Insurance, and the email of October 7th asking for a breakdown of the offer was resent on October 13th when Mr. Jay ** had again tried to call the plaintiff via the telephone.
4. On the 15th of October the plaintiff contacted another member of the Travelers Insurance Company, a Ms. H., who had previously assisted him with the “Property Damage” portion of his claim, to ask if she could send the name, address, and email address of Jay’s manager as he was not replying to the plaintiff’s communications. She did not reply.
5. Mr. Jay **, responding, sent a one sentence email two days later on the 17th of October, saying he would send something in writing confirming his previous settlement offer.
6. On the 28th of October the plaintiff received in the mail a short letter confirming the $4,000 offer, with no breakdown of any sort, along with associated release forms.
7. The plaintiff again emailed asking yet again for a breakdown and also resent the previous email requesting clarification. He also pointed out he had sent similar requests on the 23rd and 28th of September and also on the 7th and 13th of October.
8. Mr. Jay ** then responded on the 28th of October saying that $402 is for out of pocket medical expenses and the rest ($3,598) is for your pain and suffering.
9. The plaintiff immediately emailed back on the 28th October and informed Mr. Jay ** that this did not appear a fair and reasonable reparation for all the pain, discomfort, and disruption to his life, especially in the first 15 days following the accident.
10. Mr. Jay ** replied that he did not agree with the plaintiff’s valuations in an email of the 28th October.
11. On the 30th of October the plaintiff set out his claim for $6,402.00 in the form of a demand letter, outlining just what each aspect of the injuries he had suffered he believed was worthy of compensation with an associated amount and asked Mr. Jay ** to point out which aspects with associated amounts he believed were not reasonable. Plaintiff was asking him to respond within 7 business days.
12. On the 4th of November Mr. Jay ** emailed asking for documentation regarding the value of the damaged clothing/bedding and photographs of the scars incurred.
13. Photographs were submitted on the 4th of November along with explanations regarding damaged clothing/bedding.
14. On the 14th of November the Plaintiff made a request via email asking for a written update of the insurance company’s deliberations regarding the claims in the plaintiff’s demand letter.
15. On the 21st of November a further request was made asking Mr. Jay ** to reply to the plaintiff’s demand letter of the 30th of October and the email of the 14th of November; the request also stated that should they not reply within 48 hours, the plaintiff would be forced to submit summons papers to the court as it would appear that they were not negotiating in good faith and for any resolution to occur beyond that point, they would have to include legal costs on top of the amount outlined in the demand letter.
16. Mr. Jay ** did not reply to the letter of the 30th October or the 14th or 21st of November until Monday the 5th of December. He was making an offer in writing of $5050. It is interesting to note here, that up to this email, the subject title of Jay’s emails had usually been “Claim **”; however, the subject title now changed to for the first time to “** v City of Burlington.” The summons was sent out on the 1st of December and would certainly have been with Travelers’ before or on the 5th of December.
17. On Wednesday 7th of December Mr. Jay ** emailed the plaintiff saying he was now in receipt of the complaint filed against the City of Burlington, seeming to imply that he had sent his offer of December 5th before receiving the summons. But he is saying that the $5050 which he had offered on Monday was for more than the small claim amount of $5,000 and would the plaintiff now withdraw his complaint?
18. The plaintiff believes this is yet another example of the insurance company’s inability to negotiate in good faith and a cynical attempt to obfuscate and manipulate the situation so that they do not appear to be at fault, and to avoid the responsibility of $25.00 of the court submission fee of $75.00 to boot.
Mr. Jay ** of Travelers Insurance Company has done everything possible not to facilitate a reasonable, responsible negotiation throughout this negotiation. Not replying and refusing to be clear about all aspects of the process of reparation in this claim, forcing the claimant to use the Small Claims Court to get them to respond at all. This will probably result in the court only being able to force Travelers to pay the maximum of the Small Claims Court ($5,000) when the claim is for much more.

Husband had work injury back in August 2009. This person from this company only scheduled one doctor at that time to see my husband even if he filed 3 complaints for worker's injury. It was for his arm, shoulder, hand, hip and foot or ankle or leg.
It took her 7 months after accident occurred to follow up on the arm, shoulder and hand injury. To this day, after two years she never sent him to a hip doctor. Today I found out she entered false information. The worse thing is, this woman, who only spoke to me maybe 4-5 times, now states that I threatened her. This woman never talked to my husband even once. I argued with this woman, I asked her why my husband is still not seeing his doctor.
Then I got a nasty letter from her calling me names. Should I call the police and say her nasty letter was a threat to me as well? She is telling lies, she even lied to the company attorney of Travelers. This company is all lies.
Who committed fraud and a lot more as far back as the 70s? 6th Circuit pegged them for committing fraud long ago.
They are denying healthcare to work injury victim in a timely manner and they even neglected to send him to a hip doctor even if she already dad reports from Traveler's doctors that he need to be sent to a hip doctor. I want to press complaint charges against this insurance adjuster for fraud, negligence and denial of timely health care. If I read all the Internet complaints first I wouldn't be doing business with such an awful company.

I would like to formally make a complaint against Travelers Insurance, Corporate Headquarters as the parent company, located in Hartford, CT. My complaint concerns consumer fraud along with consumer disrespect, derogatory treatment, negligence and discriminatory practices imposed upon me by Travelers Insurance. To briefly explain the situation, I had a homeowner's protection policy for rental property with Traveler's Insurance for an estimated two years. During the first 15 months, I had not rented the property out to tenants. Once the property was renovated, I rented it in December of 2010. The tenants were evicted for non-payment of rent shortly after they moved in. After gaining access to the property, massive vandalism had been done by the tenants causing extreme damage and destruction to my property. A criminal report was filed. Travelers Insurance is not compliant with the terms of the policy they sold me. They have denied my claim using unrelated exclusions that were never presented in my policy and that do not apply to this situation.
Travelers should not be allowed to create or add exclusions from other policies or from a corporate handbook and apply them to my policy or that of any other consumer in order to avoid paying on a claim. This constitutes insurance fraud. I was sold one thing and something different was delivered. Also if you check their sales and customer service department, along with the website, Travelers insurance marketing practices also lead to fraud in this case. Travelers Insurance is not compliant with the terms of the policy they sold me. The exclusions used as basis for denial of my claim are not in my policy. Travelers should not be allowed to create exclusions or add exclusions from other policies and apply them to my policy. I was never provided a monetary value of the damages at my property. There is nothing about the damages, resultant from crimes of vandalism and malicious mischief that represent wear and tear.
The pictures the claims adjuster included in his letter were selectively chosen. He did not include any pictures of the crime of vandalism committed at the property, which included the broken cabinets, holes in the wall, missing glass from the door and trashing. The policy does include crime coverage for vandalism and malicious mischief. This was declared a crime by the city resulting in a warrant for the tenants’ arrest for vandalism. When comparing the before and after pictures and the warrant of arrest of the tenants/criminals, the evidence is clear a crime has been committed at the property. When I was sold this policy, I was told that the policy covers vandalism and malicious mischief. The exclusions listed in the claim denial letter do not apply to my policy because they are not included in the original policy I was sold. The city has deemed the damage at the property a crime of vandalism. It is his opinion inserted into the claim denial letter not the facts of the crime committed. The policy I purchased covers vandalism and malicious mischief. The policy also covers loss of use. Again, this is a clear example of your refusal to apply the coverage clearly listed on page 1 of my policy.

At the end of July 2010, there was heavy rain, and it began to leak in the master bedroom. We had to place a bucket under it to collect the water. We called our insurance company and they sent Matt **, the claims adjuster. He climbed up into the attic, looked around for a few minutes, then told us it was caused by a loose wood plank & it would cost just under $1000 to repair. Our deductible is $1000.00, he convinced us that it was not worth filing a claim & risk raising our premium or possible getting dropped. So we did not file a claim.
We have had another stormy night and now it is leaking in two areas, even though we replaced the plank. The damage has spread to about 3 yards and is now going down the wall. We brought in 3 outside contractors and they all went in the attic but they also checked the roof. They took pictures & showed us. We could see outside from the attic because of the hole in the roof. The plywood had so many nails in it that it was shattered & the nails went through the shingles in the roof. The people who did the patch repairs were referred to me by Matt (the claims adjuster). There were beer cans and other garbage in my attic. I am afraid to call and make a claim, I don't want to be considered high risk. I could not afford it. The cost to repair the damage is $3000.00. But I just found out I owe over $7000.00 in taxes.
We are in the process of refinancing to lower our mortgage payments. I just don't know what we can do. I am a teacher & my husband retired 2 years ago and started his own business. We made a claim previously when there was flooding in GA around the end of 2009. Our in-ground pool was pushed up out of the ground about 3ft., our policy states it is covered as other structure & we also have Value Added Package Plus for an additional $127.00.
They denied that as well. I sent them a letter by registered mail outlining the sections of my policy under which the damage is covered and there was never a response. One final complaint, my monthly premium payment are due on the 23rd of each month, yet they have been deducting it from my account every month on the 1st. I called and requested paper billing, followed by a letter. They have ignored my wishes and have continued to debit my account on the 1st of every month.

I have been with this company for four years and for the past two, I have had nothing but problems. It started with a minor accident, almost two years ago, with the total amount paid of $1,800. I had already paid more than that just in premiums. They were extremely stingy with the rental car which is a benefit I pay for in my policy. Since that point, I had nothing but 3 minor traffic tickets; one was on 01/01/10 and the other two were very early in 2008.
On Easter of 2010, I was rear-ended by another driver. I was the front car in a three car accident. None of the accident was my fault and my company did not have to pay out a dime. They did nothing but make that process a pain in the neck.
The next round came when we bought our first house. It was supposed to be a hassle-free process with everything taken care of, and guess who stepped in to make it a mess? You guessed it, Travelers. We closed our house and had all the paperwork we needed, including the insurance binder from Travelers with the account number that our closing agent was supposed to send our first year of premiums for the homeowner's insurance to. Well, they sent the check, but good ole Travelers gave them the wrong account number. So, our check was sent in and lost in the woods somewhere at the Travelers' offices.
I had to make more phone calls than I could count to get things straightened out. The check was mailed on 04/20/2010. To this day, my accounts are still a mess because they couldn't find the check they posted my auto policy payments (without telling me) to the homeowner's policy, which you can imagine messed all things up. For months, I had no idea my auto policy was not being paid in full because they were taking money from that and putting to the homeowner's policy. Then, when they finally found the check, they split that and it didn't cover all the **, so again, I came up short without knowing it.
Then, all of a sudden in December 2010, I get a $250.00 check in the mail from them which I found was kind of odd. I called them, asking why I would have received a random check from them and they said it's because they cancelled my policy. I was shocked. We had just paid them $300 for the previous month's premiums. They lady said it was because we came up around $30 short for the auto and $10 short for the home, and because again they were shuffling around my money, they cancelled the policy. They gave no notice whatsoever. I asked her why we wouldn't have received a call or a letter seeing as they could send us $250 which meant that all they needed was a few dollars to keep the policy going, and she said that she was not sure.
At that moment, I found out that I technically did not have insurance for almost two months and they didn't feel it was important to let me know that. We paid our money and ripped up their check to make sure everything was okay. Now, as a reminder, we never missed a payment with these people. Then today, I receive a letter stating that they are going to exclude me from my own policy or cancel the policy because of the activity I had over a year ago and almost two years ago. As I said, I have had this policy for over four years. I informed the lady that I may be cancelling my policy and reporting them to the insurance commissioner.
I have never experienced this much disloyalty from any company that I have ever worked with. I have two vehicles and a home insured with them. I have been a loyal customer and never missed a payment by my own regards. I apologize that this is so wordy, but I feel I must get the explanation out. I feel that since the date I signed up for the homeowner's policy, they have wanted me to drop the policies.

I have a commercial building which is vacant. I had drained the water lines with compressed air. For a couple of winters, everything was fine. Then the local water company decided to remove the existing water meter. There was a valve in the line to shut off the water line to the building. It was apparently frozen open. The representative of the water company pulled the meter, left the valve open and the water company did not notify anyone that the meter had been pulled or the valve would not close. The building was downhill from the water vault where the meter was located in. The water got into the water vault. They are not supposed to be waterproof and got into the water line in the building, froze the line and once thawed.
The water line became a conduit for all the water that entered the water vault to run into the vacant building. The damage per adjuster was $32,000.00+. The Travelers were the insurer of the water company and Traveler's opinion of their liability is zero! After filing a suit, they agreed to settle out of court. The net after attorney's expenses less than half of damages, the cost to seal water line left open is $0.75 rubber stopper. ****. This is another example of corporate America and the insurance industry refusing to take responsibility for what their employees and/or those that they insure do.

Mrs. B sustained a head injury, a broken neck, a crushed chest, significant heart damage, and a miscarriage, after having had the experience of seeing the vehicles bearing down on her, being unable to escape, and being unable to protect herself from them. She was forced to endure the fear of death and paralysis.
She is permanently disabled and her doctors say that she may still need a heart transplant. She had a policy with a certain specific insurance company, as did the two drivers, the phone booth owners, the property owners. She wanted a jury trial but that was denied. She got a miniscule award that was only as much as she had made in a single modeling job previously. The insurance company told her to pay thousands of dollars to reimburse Medicare, but Medicare said it wasn't owed. The judge (later convicted of corruption) issued gag orders for everyone. The insurance company stopped covering her medical bills for facial reconstruction and heart damage, with no letters of denial. Mrs. B lost her home because she paid the bills. On July 18, 2010, we incurred roof damage to our home due to a storm/wind that occurred and blew shingles off. We contacted Travelers to come out and review the damage and let us know what would be covered if we filed a claim. The Claim Representative came out and sent a contractor from Barrett Company on the roof to assess the damage. He never entered our home to assess the inside damage, even though he was told that the Master Bedroom sustained damage and that it was clearly visible if he would look. He made the determination that we should replace a few shingles and that would fix the problem even though neither one checked the attic to see where the water was entering the house.
His estimate came to $161.01 after our deductible of $1,000.00. They sent us a check for this amount that we will return to them without cashing. We requested that another contractor look at the damage and give us an estimate of what it would cost to repair the roof. We were given an estimate of approximately $8,200.00. Matthew C. (Traveler's Rep.) asked my wife what she did for a living. I don't know what her job status has to do with the filing of a claim on our home or why he would ask such a question.
Last year in 2009, we tried to file a claim when we had storm/wind damage to the rear of our home and were told the same story that we had only a few shingles blown off and that the roof could be repaired by replacing the shingles. The Claim Representative estimate came to within $74.00 and change of our deductible. We did not file a claim and paid a contractor to repair the roof. I had to spend $400.00 to repair the roof. My home was built in 1994 and if the roof is not repaired correctly, it will lose its value and suffer major damage.
I wanted Travelers to be fair in their dealing with me when I file a claim just I tried to be fair when I paid my premiums in a timely manner. I requested that they rectify this issue as soon as possible and dispatch a qualified claims representative to accurately assess the damage.

Claim for hail damage to my roof. In the subdivision where I live a hail storm came through and many homes have had their roofs replaced because of the storm. When Ray form Travelers came and looked at the roof he found that the metal covering vents, ridge vents have hail dents all over them. He said that there was no hail damage to the roof.
I asked Wayne how in the world the hail failed to hit my roof and just on the metal parts. I didn't climb on the house but Ray showed me pictures of the damages. I got in the mail on the 13th of July a cost estimate of everything but addresses the real problem. It talked about windows and screens and neither one is on top of the house. I am afraid that even though there was no payment that my insurance will go up on renewal date. Homes have lost their value because of the market.

Route 9w is a two lane road, kind of like a back way road, trees everywhere and very dark too. I'm driving home when a deer jump out of nowhere and honesty I panic that never happened to me before, so I was afraid to hit the deer and I swerve my vehicle and caused damages to my vehicle and no damages was made to any vehicle.
The claim agency from traveler called me at 9 am. I just got home. I'm depressed I lost my car and they want to question me. I felt pressure to answer their question. I didn't know what to say. I just worked a 10 hour shift and my body hurts. This was the worst claim I ever had. They treated me like if I did this on purpose. Why would I purposely damage my vehicle. Now I have to start all over and make more car payments.
Now they want to cancel my insurance and this claim they put it down as fault, on my driver history so now if I apply for an insurance company, I'm going to pay a lot of money. For my understanding, fault is a person whose negligence caused the accident. It's not my fault. There are millions of deer in upstate NY.

I am the mother of six boys. We live in an area that floods really bad due to a man made bridge that altered the land causing residents on an entire block to flood. I live in the worst house as an investigation had revealed which was carried out by the city. I came to live here as a result of a shady landlord who upon asking about the house I was told it was a great little place with wonderful neighbors. After asking several questions, we were allowed to move on in with no mention of flooding whatsoever. When I had occupied the home for well into my 6th month, I was confronted by the landlord and asked if I would like to buy the home on a land contract. I was overwhelmed with joy at the thought of owning my own home. I, of course, said yes and after getting the papers drawn up and signed, I proceeded to do certain things in my yard and I guess one of my neighbors figured I was buying because of the amount of work I was putting into the yard. This neighbor then came over and let me in on the fact that the whole area was a flood zone. She said although it was not yet labeled as a flood zone that it would be because of the amount of flooding that the area was subjected to.
To make a long story short, she went on to tell me everything about how the city and the corps of engineers had came in and messed the whole lay of the land up resulting in floods. After confronting the landlord with this info, he acted as if he did not know and he pretended as if he wanted to go and check this out. He later came back and said he was sorry and he let us out of the contract. Now, we wanted to get insurance but before we could even get to it, the rain fell all evening and we flooded bad. I had about 4.6 inches of water in my home. I lost everything. That flood occurred in 2009 around July about a year after I moved in. Well, needless to say, I went straight and got insurance and this was the beginning of the worst experience I have ever had with any business ever!
I was quoted a price of $231 which would provide $30,000 in coverage. I accepted and left after all the paperwork was signed. I was called soon after leaving by Geico who was notified by me earlier when I was looking for the best deal. I went ahead and heard their quote which was a hundred dollars cheaper than what I just signed up for. Well, after some calling, I went back to Travelers where I was told they had made a mistake and that they, of course, can provide the same as Geico for the same price. Well, we went ahead since we were there and did it. Now, we were insured for $30,000. A total of two weeks had passed and we got a letter in the mail which read that a mistake had been made and that Travelers was going to be taking my coverage amount down to $8000! Well, of course, we were furious but after a lot of bickering back and forth getting nowhere, we took what we had and was going to try and go else where. Well, regrettably, we got hit with two more floods. The first was reported to Travelers and the adjuster came out took pictures and the whole time he just went on and on about how the landlord, who I will refer to as Bill, was a crook and that they had given him $30,000 already and he had not put nothing back into the house other than new carpet and some paint. The adjuster Steve ** then showed us Bill's policy where Travelers had paid him 30 grand on the flood of '09 as Bill had told Travelers he was going to raise up the home. So the adjuster then said he was going to submit an estimate and that it should not take to long.
This adjuster then goes and says that we were submitting things that were in a previous claim, that we were still using items which had been flooded and I guess therefore was damaged and was not worthy of claiming! I asked for his supervisor and was given a number in which a guy by the name of Ross answered and he seemed as if he wanted to help saying that he knew nothing of the matter but would be happy to listen and see if he could help. After getting about half way through explaining what took place, I was telling him about a bedroom suit in which Steve ** had said was damaged by a previous flood and about how we had two of the same kind and then Ross made a remark about the bed and a certain feature which could be seen in a picture taken by Ross.
I knew at this point that Ross lied and that he had in fact already spoken to Steve or else he would not have known anything about the bed and what was seen in the picture. This bothers me simply because if he would lie about this then how can I trust him at all? Would you? After confronting him with this fact, he became very rude and sharp to come back with disrespectful comments like, "If you guys will try and get this off then how are you expecting to be believed!" I then asked for his supervisor and he told me he felt this was not an issue which required him to give me that information. I then got furious and told him he could not make that choice because I am the one who is not happy and I again demanded his supervisor's phone number and again he refused so I hung up and called Travelers main office.
After a lot of hoop jumping, I was finally given a customer service rep who claimed she was over the claims department. I must say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever, ever had to deal with! A person expects when they feel they have been wronged that help will come with contacting management but this lady said at first on the first day that she was so sorry and that she was going to take care of this, that travelers did not need receipts as Ross said since pictures was taken and that she was going to call Ross and have him get the estimate together so we can get it approved! She said, "We need to get you some money because now is when you need it most."
So after calling her back the next day, she completely flipped and said that we was going to need receipts for everything and that some things we claimed before and I then said we have never ever, ever claimed anything before because we have never had insurance before so you are wrong and then she said that the landlord Bill was turned down in '09 for a claim he filed in which she felt personally he was not the owner of the property in which he was trying to claim so not knowing she denied the claim. We never knew nor gave the landlord the right to claim any property we lost in the '09 flood and we made that clear to this lady but I guess she felt we were to blame for his trying to beat them out of money on a false claim! All I know is I nor anyone else in my family ever gave Bill the right to claim anything and that is even if he did! Travelers is judging us as liars because something our landlord done and we need help bad. This insurance company now says that all we are going to get is $753 and that is to clean our stuff! So we are supposed to clean sewer water out of our beds and furniture! We have an e-mailed list on save that Travelers sent which is directing us to clean our stuff and as it lists each item it gives a cleaning bill beside it.
We just can not believe this nightmare. Please help. We have been flooded and in the worst time ever, our insurance company has actually hurt us because of the time we put into getting the claim done cost us time we could have used on something else that could help! This is terrible and we need help! We at this point have not gotten a dime and it has been four weeks! As well as we got no clothes or any relief! We got insurance so we could recover quickly after a flood not to become homeless and broke with no clothes on our backs!

I send to them a complaint about my car insurance for this year and I will attempt to explain the situation clearly. I put my car away for three months; October, November and December in 2009. They charged me $99.00 by month hits okay. I used my car for a month and put my car away again at the end of January 2010. But this time by month, they charged me $120.00 a month for supposedly fees to pay for the change of my policy. I accepted that fee, but not for all the months that are coming.
I completely disagree with this and I am very unhappy about the situation. I just want to mention to you that I will cancel my policy as soon as I am back in town because they don't care about their consumer. This is an abusive situation and all agents three all together didn't explain, or had no clue because the real reason for this is because there is no reason. The State of Florida is offering a reduction of the owner car insurance for the person from 60 and more. Do you know about this reduction of price for us in Florida? I don't know if you apply this policy from the state?

I was told that I need to pay the full amount of my car insurance policy within a two week notice. The amount was $679 and I just started working again after being out of work for 11 months layoff. The excuse by Travelers was that my bank returned the automatic withdrawal for payment. I called Travelers to let them know that I no longer had a bank account. Would they bill me direct? Well, I was never told that it takes 30 days to change this agreement and now they want their one-year car insurance policy paid in full. I’m going to be cancelled February 4th and I won't be able to go to my new job.
The job I started 3 weeks ago. Basically my insurance is going to make me homeless. I’m only asking for one additional week to pay and they won't budge. I’m financially behind because of being laid off from a job 11 months ago. I’m trying to catch up now and I’ve spoken to Travelers Insurance with and was ignored.

On Wednesday, December 9, 2009, a tree fell on our property and landed on our 5th Wheel Camper. My husband and I were both at work when this happened. When my husband came home he saw the camper with the tree on it and called Travelers, our insurance carrier. The 5th Wheel camper is listed separately on our automobile insurance with Travelers. The Auto Appraiser came to our house early on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He told us to call a tree service to have the tree removed immediately to prevent further damage to the camper by the weather. My husband called Upstate NY Tree Service. The tree service responded very quickly and arrived at our house with a bunch of equipment and started immediately on the work. They were on site for less than an hour. The owner, Lonnie Drake, asked to come in the house to do the paperwork and then presented me with a bill for $4,222.80. He said that it was $1,550 per pick by the crane and that the tree took two picks, plus it was $800 for removal and disposal, plus tax.
After the tree removal, my husband called Northside Collision regarding the pickup and repairs to the camper. He was told that Big Red Towing would pick it up right away and that the winter cover must be removed before it could be towed. I was home alone and worked for four hours in the wind and cold on an 8ft ladder removing frozen snow from the roof of the camper and manipulating the cover until I could get it off. When my husband got home from work, he called Northside Collision because the camper had not been picked up. He was told the tow truck was in Pennsylvania and would not pick up our camper until the next morning. We were told to tarp the camper to prevent further damage by the weather. We did this in the wind and cold and again with a ladder.
My husband was told by the Travelers Auto Appraiser that we needed to contact Brian, the claim handler with Travelers, regarding the bill for the Tree Service. I called Brian and left a message on his voice mail. Brian left a voicemail on my phone that I needed to contact Travelers and put in a claim on our homeowner's insurance. I did this.
Big Red Towing picked up the camper on Friday morning of December 11, 2009. We were contacted by Mary Ann, the Homeowners Insurance appraiser with Travelers, and told that the tree removal was not covered on our policy because the camper is not a structure and the tree was not blocking a handicap exit. I put in another call to Brian and again left a message on his voice mail. He never returned the call. Monday, December 14, 2009, I called our Insurance Agent and spoke to Joan. Joan said that she didn't understand the problem and would see what she could find out. When Joan called back, she said she was very sorry and did not necessarily agree with it but that she was told by Travelers that we are not covered for the tree removal. She also said not to give up yet because she would discuss this with her manager next week when she returns to the office and maybe she could explain it better.
We feel that we have had insurance coverage with Travelers for many years and that we have a legitimate claim and did all of the things we were told to do to protect the insured camper. We would have removed the tree ourselves if we had known there would be no coverage. We would not have been able to remove it as soon or as quickly as the tree service did. The camper would have definitely incurred more damage from the weather and very possibly from our attempts to remove the tree.
We also feel that the cost of the tree removal is exorbitant, but we have no experience with this to know for sure. The tree service did not give us any kind of estimate or even ask for a 'go ahead' once they reached the property. They acted solely on a phone call from my husband. They had already started the tree removal before I was able to put my coat and shoes on and go outside. We were not asked if we wanted the tree removed from the property. We have several acres that we could have left the tree on or we could have used it for firewood. The tree probably was used for firewood by someone associated with the tree service.
Do we have recourse of any kind? We feel that we are being victimized by both the Insurance Company and the Tree Service. Is the Tree Service attempting Insurance Fraud by charging that amount? Is it fair and reasonable for an emergency visit? Is it fair and lawful that the Insurance Company is not covering the claim for the tree removal after telling us to have it removed immediately? Thank you for any advice you may be able to provide to us.

Since around spring of 2009, I noticed that I had trouble filling up gas into my pick-up truck's gas tank each time I needed to fill up the gas tank. I decided to take it to the auto repair shop. The diagnostic result had shown to be the bad gas tank. I allowed the service to fix it for $1021. After the repair was done, the service advisor called me to tell me it was done and also to tell me the technician found sugar cubes in the gas tank. He believed it was being vandalized. I have the evidence of sugar cubes. I contacted my insurance to claim for the damage. Per my auto insurance policy, I was to pay $500 deductible and have everything covered. After its appraising result, I got the check of only $104.88 instead of $521.88. I contacted the claim adjuster for an explanation. I was told that I should have called the insurance before the service. I explained him that I had no knowledge that it was being vandalized until after the service was done at the full amount I paid. The claim adjuster understands my situation, but he has to stick with its policy by having me call the insurance first and paying the salvage amount.

I have been waiting for approval for over a month and a half now for back surgery from Travelers and have called several times. They finally called me back today and she said, "Hi, what can I do for you?" and I said, "I did not call you." She said, "Well, you called my supervisor and she told me to call you," and I said, "Well, I have been waiting for a month and a half now for approval for my back surgery and the WC Commission said your 20-day order was up on the 18th of this month for an answer."
She said, "An answer was sent to the WC commission and you will get a copy." I said, "Well, what is the answer?" She said very rudely, "What the answer always is, Donna, the answer is no." I said, "You are always rude to me when you call me. That is why I asked to only speak to your supervisor and not you. I don't like the way you talk to me. You are rude," and hung up the phone.
I have had to fight with these people for the last 8 or so months for a back injury on 12-20-08. They made me see their quack doctor who kept telling me I had a sprain. For months, I had to fight for a new doctor, an orthopedic doctor and it took me months after getting an order from the WC Commission. My new doctor who is amazing finally figured out what was wrong with my back and said I need surgery to fix it.
I am in constant pain and my legs are weak and I can barely walk. He said I have a bulging disc, lumbar stenosis and damaged SI joints and I need my discs fused and a rod inserted in my spine. Traveler's, who is my company's WC insurance carrier, denied my surgery because they said they never bothered to get my previous medical records which I released to them several months ago and have to go over all my medical records and according to them, that is standard procedure. They now have said they denied my back surgery because they didn't get all my medical records yet.
In the mean time, I suffer in constant pain and have to use a walker to get around. I am only 38 years old and have a husband and family to take care of. I have been out of work on disability since February and am having a hard time living off the little bit of money I do get. I also had my health insurance terminated by the company I work for because they said I have been out too long even though I have been paying my premiums all along. In July 2009, I was involved in an automobile wreck with a party who was insured with Travelers Insurance. There was no doubt as to who was at fault. The party insured with Travelers admitted to myself and to the police that he was basically trying to beat traffic and pulled across 4 lanes of traffic. That afternoon I contacted Travelers Insurance Company. I was given a claim number, an adjuster, rental car and everything seem to be going smoothly until they realized I had been driving a "classic car”. They sent an "outside appraiser" to look at my car and CCC analysis. The CCC analysis compared 3 other cars to mine. Two of these cars were found in newspaper ads and were sold prior to my accident, so they never laid eyes on the vehicles and the third car was at a salvage car lot that was also sold prior to my accident. I called the private owners and the salvage lot. So, I guess my question is how did they examine the three cars and compare it to mine? Answer - they did not!
This company assumes that people are stupid! When I got a copy of the analysis, they were taking off "points" for very minute things they felt devalued the car (i.e., there was a missing piece of plastic that covered the inside door strip). They took off "points" for a scratch on the mirror that occurred during the impact when my car was pushed into a metal sign post. These can be purchased for $25.00. The guy even told me that when he drove up he was hoping it was not a "true" type of the car. As soon as he realized it was a "true classic," everything went downhill from there. The car's value ranges anywhere from $19,000 to $30,000. Mine is in the mid-range. They first came back with an offer of $10,600, which was an insult. I told them no way. I already had an appraisal on the car as well as over 50 comparable cars that were going anywhere from $18,000 to $30,000. I spoke with the adjuster several times a day. Each time they kept hounding me to file it with my own insurance company.
About a week later, they came back with another offer of $12,400. Again, I rejected their offer. They continued to harass me about filing with my insurance company. Several times they kept threatening to take the rental car away, which they finally did and I have yet to settle with them. Next, they decided to have their own "in-house" expert to value the car. This meant they were throwing out the CCC analysis, which I was told was done by an expert on classic cars. Inadvertently, I found out that their so-called "in-house expert" is the supervisor of my adjuster and claims to know everything about this particular car because he is bidding on them on eBay!
My wife had the pleasure of speaking with him and he was very rude and argumentative with her about the cost of this car. She proceeded to let him know that you do not know what you are getting when you purchase a car on eBay, unless you have it inspected before bidding. A car can look beautiful and great in the pictures, but does it run? My car was an original. I am not being unreasonable. I just want a fair amount to replace a car that I had put nearly $14,000 into. Each time I spoke with them, they came up with another issue they found that kept dropping the value of my car. This company does not care about helping people.
As of August 11, 2009, over 2 weeks from the date of the accident, I have yet settled with this company. I finally broke down and filed a claim with my own insurance company, which I did with hesitation. I did not feel my insurance company should have to be involved since I was not the driver at fault. If I were someone who was insured with Traveler's, I would re-evaluate and go with another company. Who knows what they may do if you file a claim. I have dealt with several other insurance companies before, but never one that as ruthless and uncaring as Travelers. They left me with no way to get to work or my doctor's appointments. Think twice before you get insurance with them!

My complaint is that I am being penalized for what you're saying is someone else's error which is not fair and just to me and my auto claim. I will await your reply before filing a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance. I am totally dissatisfied in the treatment thus far of my claim by Travelers. In all my years of driving and dealing with past auto accidents I have NEVER been treated as bad as I have been treated by Travelers and will take the necessary steps legally to protect my interests.
Since submitting this complaint letter to them they have since agreed to reimburse me for my rental car fees during the time in which my car was in the shop. Now the latest is that due to the fact that I have been in treatment since my accident of May 10, 2008 for whiplash they decided to send me to THEIR doctor, an Orthopedic Specialist to evaluate my injury (met with him for all of about 5 min.), mind you he never even took x-rays of me and he concluded that I should not have required more than 9 treatments to the Chiropractor for the injury in which I sustained, I've had two auto accidents in the past where I had whiplash and it took at least 2-4 months if not longer for treatment of this and my Chiropractor informed me from the very beginning that it would take at least 6-8 weeks of treatment until I was well again.
Needless to say the latest complaint I have is that they are now refusing to pay for my medical fees (anything above the 9 treatments that their doctor recommended) my adjuster then proceeds to ask me can't you file it against your medical insurance as if it's not their problem--what the heck do I pay for auto insurance for? In addition to all of that I paid additional fees every month on my policy for PIP, personal injury protection of $2,500/per person in case of an accident which is money that I should be entitled to immediately if I do indeed sustain injuries from an auto accident which they have refused to send me this money and are claiming that they will deduct my medical expenses from this money until it is exhausted.
When I was previously insured with Allstate and had an auto accident in the past they mailed me a check for me as well as my niece in the amount of $1,500 for each of us for the personal injury protection (we were both involved in the auto accident and were riding in my car together) as well as they paid out all of my medical expenses and I received a settlement at the end of the entire deal.
My experience with Travelers so far has been extremely stressful, frustrating, etc. and has been nothing but a huge headache every since I started my claim process but yet they claim on their website "At Travelers we understand that when you purchase insurance, you are purchasing a promise that we will be there for you when you need us most"
I would not by choice be spending extra time and money in toll road fees to get to my chiropractor 2-3 times a week for the past 3 months if I wasn't having severe headaches and pain from this injury. I am currently divorced trying to support my daughter while not having received child support from her father since April. My gas money is extremely tight at the moment and I definately would not be wasting it frivolously if the need was not legitimate.

I recently found out differently this May 13th when I had a flood in my basement because my electricity went out for hours and my sump pump was unable to work. I phoned travelers, they informed me that I had a $1,000.00 deductible, I was shocked, then they had me call all of these cleaning companys to extract the water from my home and even adviced me to go and have the carpets removed due to the odor and mildew.
I waited on an adjuster for 2 weeks to contact me, when he did he told me that I did not have a backup sump pump insurance so they could not pay for my loss. I have paid $1,400.00 out of pocket, and owe the contractor another $3,000.00 of which I don't have. The adjuster MJ said to me maybe you can make payment arrangements with the contractor. I told him if the agent had made all necessary arrangments to make sure that I had the exact insurance coverage as I did with my last insurance company, I wouldn't be worrying about this.
I pay insurance am broke and am living in a mildew wet dirty unliveable environment. Guess what they don't care. They told me that my area was considered a disaster, but who gets paid? I need help to have my beautiful home restored to its original state, and I don't know how I'm going to do it.

We had our homeowner's insurance through Travelers. In July of 2001, a drunk driver ran a stop sign causing another car to run off the road into our yard tearing down our front fence and digging a trench across our yard. Of course, both vehicles were uninsured so we had to file a claim on our homeowner's to fix our fence. Then in June of 2003, a violent storm caused three trees to fall in our yard, crushing a good portion of the back yard fence, destroying an aluminum storage shed in the backyard. And in the front yard, a huge tree branch clipped the corner of the house ripping down some gutters and knocking down power lines. We called and asked if we would risk losing our insurance if we filed a claim, and the agent assured us that since it was an "Act of God," we would not be cancelled. We filed the claim, fixed the fence, dealt with the downed trees and went on thinking everything was fine. We recently decided to refinance the house to enable us to get a lower interest rate and pay off some credit card debt and do some repairs to the house. Then we received a letter today from Travelers informing us we were being cancelled due to the two claims and the credit report.
