It is the worse insurance you can buy. You might save a few dollars from the beginning but you will pay for it in the end. That is what happened to me, claim department are not helpful and they are not friendly, and you are wasting your time talking to them.

If you're considering using Esurance because their rates are lower tier then I suggest you take 2 mins to research these crooks. Been an Esurance customer for 12 years without incident until this past month. I commute every day to work and on the morning of 3/27/24 I found myself along the side of the highway after striking a chunk of angle iron that fell off a truck in front of me. The object shot up under the front of my vehicle “which has low ground clearance” and ripped a hole in my lower radiator hose along with damaging the undercarriage of the car as well. The car lost all the coolant and overheated before I could safely get off the 2 lane highway. I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic that I take my vehicles to for work and filed a claim with Esurance.
After about a week I was finally contacted by “Billy” from Esurance and after submitting my photos of the damage and a repair estimate I was told the damage would be covered under my comprehensive coverage. Fast forward another week after not hearing back I was then contacted by a third party adjuster that stated he needed to inspect the vehicle. This was all fine and dandy besides the fact that “Billy” had previously stated that if the cost of repairs came in below a given $ amount an adjuster wouldn’t be needed but ok. The adjuster shows up for a whole 2 mins and leaves.
Another week goes by and we then again contact “Billy” who at this time stated the damage was normal wear and tear and would not be covered. Now keep in mind once I started to feel like something was up with these clowns I just so happened to research Esurance customer reviews so it didn’t take much digging to find out where things were headed and wouldn’t ya know it. I found countless amounts of claims that ended virtually identical to what I’d went through. This company is an absolute joke and they should be tried in court for what they put their customers through.
It’s pretty bad that the only good reviews you’ll see are the morons reviewing how easy the online process of seeing and purchasing their policies. Not a single 5 star review stating anyone was taken care of properly after having to file a claim. Do your research people. Paying more elsewhere and actually being covered in case of an accident is far better than paying these crooks to have them deny you or feed you full of lies. For what it’s worth you’d be better off not having insurance vs. paying Esurance.

How about not having my car for a year, 7 months of that time it has been in your hands. Family of 7 here and luckily had the means to get another loan for another car, but still paying for a car that’s in your hands. Still dealing with crappy communication. The accident wasn’t our fault (teen driver was cited for distracted driving and had admitted it right away). Customer service is an absolute joke and there is no communication between departments or customers and you, as the customer, have to hand walk them through talking with each other.

I tried Esurance. I thought I'd been with them for almost six months, having set up automatic payments. I learned that after only a couple of months, somehow a payment was missed, they canceled my insurance yet somehow still billed me $84. I spoke with someone, they said it was taken care of but I just learned that it's gone into collections and is affecting my credit rating. Their customer service is below deplorable! If I could give them negative stars, I would.

I am not an insured driver with Esurance. Rather I am with State Farm for auto, homeowners and other insurances. I had the misfortune of having my tailgate damaged slightly over a year ago as a result of an Esurance insured driver backing into me when I was parked in a Walmart parking lot. While the process to file a claim went smoothly over the phone, getting a claim adjuster to reply and stay focused on my claim was horrendously poor. I left msg after msg both phone, secured text and email for her back in N. Carolina where she worked from home.
Once she determined what the covered repair expenses and reimbursement would be thru their system to determine a cut rate determination, I pointed out that the three estimates that I had obtained from local auto body shops were all considerably higher that what they were "authorized" to pay. I contested it multiple times by way of unanswered voicemails, secured emails and text messages to the adjuster...yet their check to me came shortly thereafter. I contacted my insurance company and they filed a subrogation claim against Esurance that took several months to resolve. In the meanwhile, I had my truck repaired at the expense of State Farm who was eventually reimbursed by Esurance after a long drawn out fight. I am oh so hopeful to never ever be involved in an accident with an Esurance insured driver/vehicle.

I’m a service advisor for Ford Motor Company. I have 25 years experience dealing with factory warranties, extended warranties and automotive insurance. On October the 4th I was side swiped by a man named Wyatt **. Thankfully nobody was hurt and he admitted responsibility and we exchanged information. Later that day my wife and I started a claim with Esurance. We both spoke with Crystal **. We also sent her pictures of the damages to our vehicle, the accident scene and their insured’s driver's license and insurance information.
After a week of not hearing from Crystal we began to call. We called for a month leaving voicemail after voicemail with no response. I was able to reach the local field agent and he said we were set up to take our vehicle to Caliber Collision. I informed him the Crystal's $183.00 estimate on parts and labor was no where even close. Remember I am an automotive service advisor and I also stated we would need a rental. He said the body shop would do a supplement. He couldn’t help us with a rental do to the claim being so small. I have front end damage and a busted mirror. Again my wife and I reached out to Crystal and left several messages again. We went above her to her supervisor Lindsay ** and leaving repeated messages. We missed two appointments with the body shop and the body shop informed us they did have the assignment but no rental.
Here it is November 20th with no return calls. My wife calls our insurance Geico and they have a three way call with a representative of Esurance who informed them that claim was pending liability and now no repairs are to be authorized at this time. So I reached out to Brendan ** or ** myself at ** myself. He told me the exact same thing telling me this could take a year if not more. He said they couldn’t prove their insured was at fault and that I could have hit them and that I should pay for it or have Geico pay for it and either they or I could be reimbursed. I told Brendan what I do for a living and I knew what he was trying to pull and that I was not going away. He said turn it into Geico. They wouldn’t charge me my $500 deductible. I told him we talked to Geico and that they are charging us.
I was told this wasn’t “his problem”. Once I brought up litigation and an attorney he said he could no longer talk to me and said to have my attorney contact their legal department and hung up on me. I immediately called Geico. They have had no claims filed by Wyatt ** and they are covering my damages and rental but I have to pay the $500 deductible. Geico said their payment recovery team (arbitration) is going after Esurance for their loss and our $500 and this happens with them all the time.
Looking at all of these reviews I’m surprised the NAIC has came down hard on them for unethical business practices. If you’re thinking of using this company think twice and read the reviews for claims on its on customers. Esurance I hope you enjoy working with Geico and dealing with that headache and still having to shell out for your insured’s mistake. I also write up 30 customers per day and I will tell everyone about you!!! I’m personally starting a case with the NAIC and I will be looking to start a lawsuit against you. I strongly urge anyone who has had similar experience to do the same. If your business is making people frustrated and wait until the point of giving up maybe you should be out of business‼️

After an eSurance customer ran a stop sign and hit my car eSurance totaled my car. It was minor damage. I bought the car from esurance with the claim $. Esurance titled the vehicle in their name and has not returned the title to me. Now I can't renew the registration on my car because it's not mine. Their phone scam is a mess. They don’t return calls. Anyone that you can talk to isn't authorized to do anything. Leave a message. Calls aren't returned. Don't buy insurance from these people and pray that you aren’t involved in an accident with someone insured by esurance. The management is incompetent if not criminal in my Opinion.

My wife and I have had homeowners insurance through Esurance for almost five years. We had a faucet in our kitchen fail and flood not only the kitchen but the basement below. They sent a man from a company that receives a lot of work from their company to look at the damage a week later. He took pictures but failed to look at the faucet or the cabinet where the leak originated. He had to call me almost two weeks later to have me take those pictures and send them to him. The never sent an adjuster. Based only on the pictures and info he collected they denied our claim.
Their investigation was laughable and their information gathering was only through a man they have in their back pocket. We appealed. They made no attempt to gather any more information and then denied our claim again. They said it was a slow seeping leak that caused the damage which was absolutely not true. We are changing insurance companies and hope to have a better experience with the next one. It won't be hard.

We have been with Esurance for several years as they are the only affordable, under 1,000 a month, that we have been able to find. We have had 3 no-fault claims and not a single one has been handled appropriately. On the Challenger case we have had at least 5 adjusters assigned and they refuse to address claims in under three weeks and most go over a year and up to 3 years to address. The car has a bent rail in two locations and that was diagnosed by two shops one being their direct shop. According to Dodge that is what is issue with the front end suspension and is actually dangerous to drive not only for us but for other drivers. They are now not communicating with their shop and cancelled their assignment with that shop.
The other was a collision with a stolen U-Haul that ran my husband off the road and did damage to the body, undercarriage and mechanical/ suspension. They refused to look at the estimate from a shop and actually said "I am not paying for any more repairs" from Larry ** after they paid for an alignment, strut and headlight.
We struggled with the car until the right wheel, the damaged one from the u-haul, stopped turning at 65 mph and my daughter rolled it into a ditch full of water. They underpaid the car and I have been making payments on the Challenger that the whole front end could fall out from under it when it is not in the shop in pieces waiting for them to contact their direct repair facility. Emails are coming back with statements "you have the wrong email" on threads where I have been discussing the issues. I feel that they are knowingly holding up claims and jeopardizing the lives of their insured and others on the roads with them. If I could afford another company I would go there

Esurance an Allstate company, has given us the WORST experience. In February of 2022 we bought our truck through a dealer. It was pre-owned. Since then, three weeks after we bought it, it was stolen from our apartment complex. It was found less than 24 hours later by the police after we had filed a police report. It had many damages to it and was not in running condition, so it was sent to an auto shop. The auto shop worked with our insurance to cover damages, and the truck was repaired and given back to us late June or beginning July of 2022.
Before we had gotten the truck back, we realized our apartment was not in the safest neighborhood, so we worked with a realtor to get a house which we then bought. Exactly one week after we got the truck back, it was stolen again from that same apartment complex just as we were about to move. We filed another police report. The truck was found a couple days later at a casino with the thief inside the casino gambling. We looked over the entire truck with the police officer. The radio Bluetooth system and cameras had been taken out. The armrest was broken. The windshield was broken because we had bought a steering wheel lock since the first time it was stolen. The truck had been sanded down on almost every panel. We found a spray paint gun in the truck, so we realized that the thief planned to repaint the truck.
We sent the truck to a Ford dealer this time hoping that would expedite the repair process since it took so long the first time. Ford estimated the truck at $16,000 worth of damages $9000 of which was due to labor. Our adjuster requested a second appraisal to be made which estimated $500. We contested this and had a third person sent over who estimated around $6000 worth of damages. This made more sense, and was closer to the same estimation made by Ford. I asked our adjuster if he could find out if we went ahead with repairing the damages with the last estimation, would a paint job still be covered after since Ford apparently does not do paint jobs. Our adjuster said he would send the question and information to upper management so they can give a determination. He felt at that point, our vehicle should just be totaled out because of the amount of damages.
After what feels like forever, they’ve determined that most of the damages were pre-existing, and or due to wear and tear. A huge part of what needed to be repaired mechanical wise was the head gasket. This didn’t make sense to us because if it was due to wear and tear and there was a head gasket issue wouldn’t it have been brought to our attention during the first time the truck was being repaired after the first theft? They did a visual inspection the first time and a thorough mechanical inspection.
Let’s go over the inconvenience aspect of this all. I was pregnant last year and delivered our daughter in October 2022 in the midst of all this chaos. As with any newborn, I have had countless doctors appointments. My son is in recreational sports and activities. My husband is military and is required to have his own vehicle so he can report to base on time when told. Since having our daughter, I have not been able to go back to work because my job was further and my husband’s job required him to need a vehicle at all times.
Our loan for the vehicle is around $300 a month, and we spend almost $300 on our insurance every month. This is almost $600 every month for a vehicle we do not have. We have had to spend money on Uber’s for appointments and to take my son to his soccer practice/games on time. We do not have money to get another vehicle since we spend so much on this vehicle every month. My husband was told that his unit deployment is in March of 2023, and since we found out, we have tried to work with our insurance to expedite this process, and our insurance has become very difficult to get a hold of. I already let them know I did not agree with the final determination of how to proceed with our truck and for somebody to contact me back to go over next steps.
I spoke to my adjuster a couple of days ago and he said a supervisor, or somebody would be in touch with me and I have not been contacted since then. ←-communication issues such as this runaround has been recurring throughout this process until I call and complain which takes a lot of time and energy. Whenever I think about this situation we are in, it overwhelms me and makes me want to cry because there are so many things that I want to do to try to get this matter resolved and fixed. I feel like I am getting absolutely no help from the insurance side.
I am completely discouraged by this matter and upset. I feel that we have made all of our payments for this vehicle on time and have proven to be in good faith yet our insurance just leaves us without a proper resolution and tries to cut this situation off in such a cold manner. I cannot believe we have been treated this way. So I am given no choice but to try to contact them via this platform and I really hope they can contact me back quickly to come up with an appropriate resolution. Even though I am disappointed, I still will stand my ground on this matter because I feel we have been wronged.

While vacationing out of state at a rented cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, three black bears destroyed my vehicle while it was parked in the lot outside the cabin. After calling and making the claim, the car was towed, and I rented transportation back to my home in Atlanta at my own expense. After two weeks, I had not so much as received a phone call about the vehicle, and Esurance didn’t even send an appraiser to assess the car for a full month. Eventually, they declared the car a total loss and assigned the case to their total loss department under their agent, Herson **.
It has now been 67 days since my car was totaled, and I still haven’t gotten a fair settlement offer from the total loss department. After more than two months of waiting, I was offered $5000 for a car that was in perfect condition, and would cost $15,000 to replace. Mr. ** assured me that he wasn’t trying to get me bottom value for my car, and then offered $7400. Why offer the original $5000 if you know the car was worth more?
I am asking for a $9000 settlement for this vehicle. After rejecting their offer of $7400, Mr. ** asked me to research car listings in my area for cars of the same year, make, and model. After sending him close to 30 links for local vendors, each with costs ranging from $9000-$15,000, I still have heard no response from him or anyone in his department. Communication has been absolutely atrocious. I call and email between 10-20 times every day, and receive no response, or a response indicating that he is “working on my case” and will “call me right back”. The calls never come.
Why am I being asked to do research on public domain sights to justify a cost for a vehicle that is clearly within the price range I am asking for? All the while I am fighting this battle, I am without reliable transportation for myself or my family, and the company has declined to offer me travel expenses during this period. I submit that Esurance and its appraisal company CCC has intentionally delayed the process beyond a reasonable timeframe in an attempt to wear down my patience so I will accept a deal I know to be undervalued. The data is there.
I have been an Esurance customer for over ten years and have paid upwards of $10,000 in monthly premiums, never filing a claim. Now, that I am in a situation beyond my control and need the security of a reliable insurance agency, I am being ignored, underbid, and in no way being made a priority. If there is any doubt of the validity of this story, hop on any forum where reviews of Esurance are being posted. You will find page after page of frustrated, disenfranchised, and desperate people trying to rebuild their lives, and their stories of the negligence and lack of care from this company.

I had an auto accident on 6/2/2022 and have not had my claim fulfilled and today's date is 8/17/2022. To start, It took 6 weeks for me to hear ANYTHING from the claims adjuster, and to this day, she has never kept me in the loop with any of the details regarding my claim. She called me the first day I made a formal complaint to Esurance (about her not responding to my calls and emails for 6 weeks) and she has not returned my phone calls or emails since. Initially, my elusive adjuster (the one and only time we spoke) stated that an appraiser could not be scheduled, so I just need to send her pics of the damage. The next day I am contacted by the supervisor who tells me my quote should be ready within 1-2 days. I was confused because I was told they needed my pics, which I had not sent yet, but apparently, they already had them.
Another week passes and I eventually contact the supervisor again who informs me that someone else (not the adjuster) is working on it and not accepting the quote that was delivered by the auto repair shop. Once again I'm told reassurances, and that they just need some answers from the shop and this should be handled in a few days tops. The shop owner sends what they requested and of course, I hear nothing again. I contact the Esurance supervisor again, and it appears there's an issue, but no real answer as to what it is. Therefore, he concludes I do in fact need an appraiser.
Last week (8/12) I was finally scheduled for an appraiser who contacted me when he was "at the shop" on 8/15 but he actually DID NOT ever go. The next day, on 8/16, I spoke to Esurance customer service who instructed me to write an email to customer feedback and stated they should get back to me within 24 hours and I was assured (as usual) that they were taking this very seriously and want to resolve my issue. Well, ANOTHER 24-hour period has passed and NOTHING. No phone calls, no emails. It is UNACCEPTABLE to be treated with so much disdain and disrespect, especially when you pay monthly for a contracted service.

I work with insurance companies frequently as a motor vehicle dealership and financier, and have never had such a horrible experience as the one we are currently locked in with Esurance. A finance customer of ours wrecked their vehicle in late November 2021. The customer had full coverage insurance and loan/lease coverage. The vehicle was immediately towed to our property, and esurance was notified promptly of the location of and sustained damages to the vehicle, along with our daily storage fee. We obtained a third-party repair estimate as soon as possible, which clearly evidenced that the cost for repairs far exceeded the current value of the vehicle (total loss). This should have been an extremely simple claim, for which the process with any other insurance company may have taken a few weeks at most.
The agent we were initially in contact with, Ryan **, was virtually impossible to reach and almost never responded to our communication attempts. Copart calls our office daily inquiring about release of the vehicle; they have been ready to pick it up as a total loss since December 2021. It is now February 2022, and we are still attempting to get paid for this vehicle. It has been sitting on our lot accruing storage fees of $40/day which esurance is now omitting from payment documents. We have been Esurance customers for around 6 years. Last year, we moved from a $200k house to a $400k house. In the midwest, most insurance claims are for roofs and wind/hail claims. When starting our new policy esurance valued our new (to us, not new construction) house at $900k (purchase price was $390k) so that our deductible would be $9k for wind/hail and $4k for all other peril. They told us there is not another option.
In KS, we would always have a higher wind/hail deductible and to price themselves out of having to pay any claims, they artificially inflated the value of our house. Adding a liability-only 16 year old driver to our account increased our bill by $1200/semiannually. We contacted State Farm and got MUCH better coverage (no separate wind/hail deductible, comparable premium, and larger loss of use amount). To top it off, esurance charged a CANCELLATION FEE to terminate their crappy coverage! Talk about sleazy. Stay far, far away.

I have been with Esurance for 3.5 years paying on time, No accidents and no claims. They still increased my premium exponentially without any reason. They do not care about existing customers at all. Thank god I didn't had any claims. They might have not done anything for me at that time as well.

I never had a problem with Esurance, probably because I never had a claim. But when I found much better coverage for over $25/month less, and went to cancel my policy, they charged me a $50 cancelation fee! (After 2 years of being a customer.)
