Esurance was easy to obtain. When I purchased my previous car I was able to use the computer at the dealership to quickly and very easily purchase insurance before leaving the car lot with my newly acquired car. Even for someone who isn't as comfortable using a computer or smartphone, I can't imagine anything being easier. I was very please with how simple process was and how very little time it took. Also I love that Esurance stuck to the quote they first gave me. I've had horrible experiences with companies charging me completely different amounts far more than I would have agreed to just so they could trick me into switching my insurance with them. Esurance has always been honest and upfront. But it would be nice if they had locations locally where I could have the option of a person to person, face to face dealing. Other than that I like that Esurance is so easily accessible through the web.

Esurance has always been responsive when taking care of me and has always had the lowest price for what I want covered. They are online, easy, cheap. I have always been able to talk to a person if there was questions and they also give me many options to make sure I am getting what I want for the price I want. Policies were handle fast and the work was awesome, my rates have never been super high even after a ticket. My payments come out automatically, and are easy to pay the policy. Not only come to my house but also I can get it on my phone. I can choose whether to talk to a person or on the computer. When we had to claim an accident the gentleman that came out was kind and understanding and very thorough and the tow truck company was gentle when transporting my truck.

Esurance really made the process of getting new insurance very simple. I appreciated the quick response and the clear information that was provided online and also through telephone conversations. Value for the price and paperless is great and their customer service was always good and I didn't have to worry about trying to get in contact with anyone. Enjoyed service As I was able to get my proof of insurance very easily and everything was only a phone call or email away.
However, it would be great to have either some type of personable ability not just with telephone calls but maybe a video live chat then you can speak and see the people you're speaking with to give that person will touch and that's the main difference with the other companies that have brick and mortar offices. But I appreciate the fact that they are able to keep their price really low and maybe a video chat you still offer that same low price across the nation been able to speak with a representative.

It was very easy to set up my policy online, choosing the right policy and options that are affordable, and getting the best coverage and liability that I need. They give me a good driver's discount. They have automatic payments and easy to navigate website. They have also not increased my rates, and they are also reliable because it's affiliated with AllState.

A representative walked me through every single piece of my policy. Allowing me to tweak coverage premiums and other services. They also stayed on the phone with me through canceling with my previous insurer, and even caught a fee they were trying to charge me that is not chargeable within my state. They're fairly priced. It cost me less than other insurances at bare minimum for NJ state coverage, and I have MORE coverage. Plus the company is very flexible about adding or subtracting features when I need them. I am extremely happy with Esurance, and for seeing me staying with them for a long time.

The Esurance agent I spoke to was extremely friendly and thorough while explaining my coverage. I was having a bad day and he made me smile. I like that there is a discount for using an app that tracks my driving habits. I also like that making a payment is easy through the website and over the phone. Their rates are reasonable and they spread my first payment out over a few months so I was able to afford to get started but I hope they could be lowered.

We went online and entered our information and the vehicle information and then was able to finish the entire setup. We seem to have a good experience each time and it is relatively easy to do all this. I like the cheap pricing, the convenience of being able to take care of things online and how I can access my auto policy in an app on my telephone including accessing my insurance cards quickly and without issue. The online capabilities are fast and nice. However we have a hard time adding older vehicles and must call the customer service line to do this which can be inconvenient. And then we don't feel we're getting the best pricing and they seem unknowledgeable about older cars and the values.

Purchasing insurance with Esurance was easier than any other insurance I've bought before. They were helpful and EXTREMELY friendly. The agent spent as much time as I needed to understand all of my options. It is a pleasure to chat with an agent that seems to be able to take as much time as you need to discuss your policy. If you are in a hurry that is useful. They also have online chats with an agent. You can do everything by app or on their website. They are digitally focused and I can review and change my policy online without contacting an agent. I like it because they have everything online. I don't have to carry an insurance card, just have the app on my phone
I like their website, but sometimes I wish it would be a little easier to navigate because I am over 50, I'm not as technologically advanced as others. Sometimes I have questions that are more personal to me and I cannot find the answers online. I would prefer that contacting them by phone would be a little easier but it is a little inconvenient to contact them by phone because they are internet focused. I also don't like that I don't get my own personal agent.

I don't normally write reviews, but I just had to. I had a policy with Esurance for over 10 years. I never got into an accident, nor did I ever not pay my premium. My nephew stayed with my husband and I for one month, an 18 year old. He did not have access to our vehicles, nor did he stay with us for very long. I received a notice of termination because apparently, during his extended visit, we never reported him as a driver. I called a representative and asked them why I had to report a visitor as an official driver on our policy. The gal apologized and told me that it was just the way it is - i.e. not answering. I never once complained about my policy raising steadily over the years, despite never having had an accident, owning my home, being in my late 30s and married. Folks, I was paying $215 for a 20 year old car and a 12 year old car PER MONTH!!!
I apologized to them that they lost a loyal customer and went insurance shopping... And realized my husband and I had been bilked. I joined a different company and only pay $77 for the best coverage per month!!! This company had my records and gave me discounts because I have excellent credit, no accidents, continuous coverage, etc. The best thing that happened to me was getting terminated by Esurance - otherwise I would not have checked out other insurance companies and realized I was getting crappy, subpar rates.

I love how they took care of me when I hit a tire on the highway on the way home. The worker was super friendly and took care of me. He made sure I was alright. It's a reasonable price to pay for insurance and I have good coverage. I decided to keep them because of how they treat their customers. They are always willing to help customers and are always polite. Esurance is an awesome company. They have been terrific since I started.

Everything can be done online on the app, which is awesome. I don't have to go into an office. I can change my payment date if needed and pay early. I can pull up my insurance card on the app on my phone. But the app is lacking in some information and it can be hard to navigate. Some of the information you can't get online and when you call, you get a robot. It's frustrating and annoying.

My overall experience with Esurance has been great. It is convenient to get the insurance policy by answering a few questions on their site and to pay for the policy completely online. One of the easiest policies I have ever procured. They automatically bill monthly and it is very simple to get a policy. On the other hand, I would like them to improve their rates. They used to be much less expensive than they currently are. The rates have been steadily rising to where I am thinking of switching companies.

Initially I thought this was a good idea. I had seen the commercials and believed I would save money. I liked it because I could get it right away. I needed to get insurance at night before I drove the new car and it was fast. But the "perks" and discounts given when you sign up go away and they don't tell you that at the beginning. They sign you up with all of these bonuses and then after my policy renews I find out that those discounts only apply for the first six months. I feel like they are dishonest. I no longer trust Esurance and I do not like them. I am looking to change and I will find another company that I trust.

It was very easy to purchase the policy and was very fast in replying for claims and to do the change from my previous insurance. Filing a claim can be done from the comfort of your home from an app. And they have very friendly claims specialists. I also received several discounts which helped with the low price! It is very affordable compared to other companies in general. The only downside of Esurance is that there is no freestanding location. It is a little difficult to only have online/phone conversations as opposed to in person.

I used an online comparison tool and got numerous quotes when selecting my insurance policy. Esurance has some of the best prices available, often drastically cheaper than their competitors, so I decided to go with them. Plus, they have a very clear policy outline so I was able to fully understand what my chosen plan entails. Purchasing was a very easy process. I signed up online and then I had to speak to someone on the phone when finalizing my plan initially, which was an added step that wasn't necessary for me to take from previous insurers that allowed me to do everything online, but this extra time spent wasn't necessarily a deterrent, just a notable potential burden to some.

Esurance is a great company. Have checked around with other auto insurance companies but they are the best. I have had them for over 3 years now and haven't had any issues with them. Have great rates. When I had first purchased my insurance I did it online. I had a previous insurance company and they were really expensive. The best advice I could give anyone looking for auto insurance is to shop around for the best quote.

It is easy to contact customer service via phone or online. It is an online company but you aren't left alone to figure everything out by yourself. However I would like it to be cheaper or more discounts. I also wish it had more features in NJ like that app you download to judge your driving and give you more discounts.

I'm required to have Esurance, so I like that they have the cheapest rate and that I can do everything electronically without having to actually speak to someone. I purchased Esurance online, signed the forms through email and submitted my payment info the same way. It was very quick and easy and it just comes out of my account monthly and if I need to print cards or make changes I just log in and do it. It would be better if it were even cheaper and included more stuff like roadside assistance, free towing, even rentals.

I like the all online capabilities and the ability to see and make changes all online. Esurance is very speedy with transferring policies from one to another. I liked the email notifications but they need more text alerts. I don't like the high prices Esurance charges the customers for something that the company hardly does. It's not worth the poor service the reps do over the phone. I didn't stay with Esurance after the poorly handled customer service rep was rude with my mother and I on the phone. They need better reps.

I initially wasn't sure about whether to get a policy. I filled out part of the website application before bailing on the whole process. Minutes later a representative called me and asked me what it would take for me to complete my application. Through our interaction I was able to put my misgivings to rest and had insurance from Esurance later that same week. I like their availability. Because they are based online and because that is the format with which I am most well versed I am able to fully understand all the services they have to offer without ever needing to speak to anyone in person. For some people a negative would be their lack of brick and mortar facilities. Face to face interaction does have a certain appeal that this company simply isn't able to bring. But that is neither a concern nor a deal breaker for me. Would recommend to a friend.

After comparing auto insurance to cover both our cars it made senses to go with an auto insurance that would cost effective. For half the price I have both our cars insured which is reassuring. It was easy and straightforward. Works for our family and it is cheaper than most well known auto insurance. But the one thing I am not a big fan of is that You have to print your insurance "card" yourself and make copies if need be and it doesn't look professional. They need to change the logo as well.

As a hearing impaired person, I like not having to speak to a representative. But I would love a location I could take my vehicle that is directly associated with Esurance when accidents do occur. The representative was very apologetic so it made it are you little bit better and it made the experience come from 1 to 89!
Also, they are very cost efficient for an insurance company in these times. I got everything that I needed from the company so now I have no worries about the company or what it has to offer. The process of purchasing the insurance was great and very simple. When I called to get my insurance it did not take very long. With Esurance I got everything back and I made sure I have towing so that made me happy. It is great to know that I have a company behind me that is so family oriented and I like that I would refer my family and friends. Esurance people are also easy to work with and they are always very friendly and helpful when I need to call and talk to them about my account. Plus, they have an excellent website. But one thing I would improve with Esurance would be to allow the customers to change the billing date for their policy. We can delay payment every month but have to wait until a few days before our bill is due. But it would be nice to be able to pick a permanent date to change it to. At the time I was signed up with them, they didn't have a physical address. It was sometimes difficult conducting all of my business over the internet. The only thing I don't like about it is that If you pay online then they automatically put you on auto pay. Be very careful when Esurance tells you what their policy covers. I bought a policy for hit and run coverage. Called an uninsured motorist property damage policy, in addition to regular liability insurance. Admittedly, I wanted to save money and not have collision. They told me when I got the policy that when a hit and run driver hits me, I will be covered. Not true. You have to KNOW THE IDENTITY of the person hitting you to receive coverage. As I live near San Diego, we have a LOT of traffic and the likelihood of knowing who hit you is highly unlikely.
My complaint lies in Esurance told me over the phone they denied my claim with no reason why. After repeatedly writing to them, no response was ever received. In fact, they did not even open my emails, police report, witness statements, etc. The California Insurance Commissioner's Office had to explain why my claim was denied. I have some knowledge of law, but not enough to pursue a lawsuit for bad faith, nor do I want to keep being reminded of this experience. Just wanted to warn others to expect nothing from this company except the prompt invoice for payment of your premiums.

I was assured that everything would be taken care of in a time manner. NOT, the tow service didn't show up for 2 days. Then was towed to a secured repair shop chosen by Esurance... I was told I would receive a quote of damages within 24 to 48 hours, did not receive until I called 72 hours later. The lady at the lot was very unprofessional. I then contacted Esurance, and spoke with a gentleman by the name of John, after a lengthy conversation with him, he informed me that my case would be handled by a gentleman by the name of Andy, and he would be getting in touch with me within 24 hours.
After 48 hours I called John back to inform him that I had not heard from Andy... He assured me he would call, but he did not. So the next day I called him and was informed that my vehicle had been considered a total loss and that I should call around to find out what the value would be to replace it. Mind you, my car was a 2017 Buick Regal, with 3500 miles on it. Could not find one in the state. Tried calling Andy back to inform him, but he didn't answer his phone, so I called John, who assured me (again) that Andy would contact me. After 3 hours I called Andy again this time he answered, and I told him that I was unable to find a replacement car. He told me that they had already decided how much they were going to give me and that I had to pay my deductible.
I was floored, unbelievable. In Michigan, we have no fault insurance, but if it is not your fault the deductible is waived. But not in this case according to Andy. After going back and forth with he and John, (come to find out they had already sent a check out to my lender with their amount). They were not paying my vehicle off therefore, I am left with paying the deductible as well as the remaining balance due on my car. I call John today, (after trying to get in touch with Andy), I inquired of him what was going to happen with trying to pursue the person who totaled my car, he said they would go after them and then make a determination as to whether or not I was entitled to anything. I could hear Andy in the background making comments. So I asked if he was in the office with him, and he (John) didn't respond (I could tell he covered the receiver).
I am very pissed to say the least. (1) No one reached out to me, I had to do all of the contacting. (2) The fact that they were not willing to pay off my vehicle and I had to pay the deductible as well as the remaining balance of my loan. (Not to mention I am over 65 years old, and on a fixed income). And at the same time have to figure out a way to purchase another car. All because of two adjusters who thought it would be funny to play games with me. They were playing a game of "good cop, bad cop".

It has been more than 2 weeks and the insurance company keeps dragging their feet after told I was going to have no problems or any questions were raised. After speaking to the claim representative on the phone got the estimate the next day and that a check would be mailed out. 2 days later I get some cryptic message from SIU about a hold on the account, was not able to speak to him for 4 days after he broke his own appointment with me. After speaking with him told the investigation was about recently adding comprehensive coverage back on after about a 2 month gap without it. I mean really. Who plans on hitting a deer? So the next morning he sends an email with a form I was supposed to fill out and give various supporting information. It also asked for cell phone records of the time leading up to when I re-added the policy and the around and before the accident occurred.
So I asked him how do I get those records to him via email for three freaking days with a pointless reply or stopping after I told him what my cell phone carrier is AT&T. So finally after the whole thing with the check being voided and his avoidance I complained loudly to my claim agent and finally got the guy give me the directions I needed after. So that evening I sent everything in via email until I was going over the last form a consent and disclosure form that at the very bottom had a must be notarized by a public notary option and naturally flipped out and got very angry because if I had to fill that it out it would cost me money and time as I work most weekdays 9-5:30 pm. I have no criminal record at all and this is the first insurance investigation I've ever had in more than 11 years of driving. It sounds like to me like the insurance company is trying to scare or bully me into cancelling my claim with them.
They also sent out a check to me and I even told them that I had received a check and they had the nerve to void the check too. I mean if I was trying to commit fraud like their SIU think why the hell would I tell them? I have already had to spend $280 on Uber/Lyft/taxi cab fare since this occurred so I went in and got the mechanical damage done out of my own pocket for $375 he claim being paid in full without going through all the crap of signing a notarized property loss statement for a simple $1300 comp. claim.

I usually call once a year to see if they can find any discounts I'm missing and they have found some in the past where I could save even more money. Esurance is very affordable and customer service has always been pretty good in my experience. I have not had to call customer service recently but usually the people are very helpful. I have both home and auto insurance and typically when I call customer service about homeowners insurance it takes longer to get the right person on the phone though.

My overall experience with Esurance has been good. Purchasing my policy was easy and convenient. I was able to do everything online, and my payments come out of my account automatically so I don't have to worry about it. I like that everything can be done online so I don't have to deal with a local agent. It is convenient to be able to make payments, policy changes, etc. online. I also like their rates. I get excellent coverage for less than other companies charge. I also like that I can choose the exact coverage and deductibles that work best for me.
The biggest thing for me that I would like improve is the rates. Their rates are lower than other companies, but insurance rates in general are high. The city I live in has the highest rate of vehicle theft so I'm forced to pay higher rates. In twenty years, I have only had one claim for minor damage that happened in a parking lot by an unknown vehicle. I have paid out, but have only one $1500 claim in twenty years. I shouldn't be punished for other people's claims.

During the whole process of writing and completing the policy with Esurance, the agent that I was working with, was very professional and very courteous towards me. If there were questions, which there were, she was very knowledgeable and explained the solution in easy to understand detail! It was great! Also I really enjoyed their accident forgiveness policy. I never had to use it, but just knowing if I was involved in an accident, I would be covered! But one of the problems that I faced was the constant rising of my monthly insurance bill. One month to the next it always changed by 10-15 dollars and there was no explanation as to why, and what could be done to help lower it!

My favorite thing about being an Esurance customer is that they have a convenient, user-friendly app. They have amazing, knowledgeable customer service representatives. I experienced a quick response time when I locked my keys in my car. I also loved how easy it was to file an insurance claim to have my windshield replaced after it was damaged by a rock on the interstate. Esurance also offers a flexible payment schedule that provides the ability to change the payment date if needed on the app without having to call in and speak to a customer service representative. Very user-friendly. I've been a customer for a year now and do not plan on switching policies any time soon.
Esurance have quick and easy process to find the correct policy to accommodate all the drivers and vehicles on our policy that meets the requirements by the finance company and the state of Arizona. Something I dislike about Esurance is that they require automatic payments. They also do not send out payment reminders prior to an upcoming automatic payment. Even though it is my responsibility to make timely payments, life happens and can easily forget about upcoming payments.

But the rates are not always the very cheapest, which comes with most insurance policies, but the rates did not go down after an extended period of time which eventually caused me to be frustrated. My partner's rate and overall coverage ended up being more affordable when we met and part of the reason why was the length he had been with his company. That was not the same case for me. I decided to get Esurance for auto insurance because they were the cheapest quote I received at the time. Well, let me say in this situation, you get what you pay for. I am 32 years old, and I have NEVER filed an insurance claim in my life. Well, I was involved in an accident and had to file a claim. Since I hit something in the road on the way home and it didn't seem too bad, I didn't bother to stop and call police or anything. That was a big mistake I soon found out.
Esurance sent my claim to investigations, because they didn't like the fact that my deductible was $250 and I decided to get roadside and rental car coverage. That caused them to send my claim to the investigation team. And let me tell you, if you think Esurance is rude their investigation team is 10 times worse. These guys wanted to know if I told anyone I had been in a wreck, and if I called or texted anyone. If I had, they wanted the text message conversation and wanted to call everyone of my friends who saw the car. They even drilled my girlfriend. Ya they finally paid me, but the hoops that I had to jump through to get paid was **...

I run a business and so does my wife and we have a son. My wife had an aggravation of a previous neck injury and had to have medical treatment and chiro and the disruption of our lives didn't seem to matter to Esurance. In fact, I had to constantly contact them to get things moving forward.
The car sustained 2800 dollars in damage (according to the damage they claimed), and they offered around 5600 for ALL physical damage and emotional trauma to my wife and son. I am displeased with Esurance because it doesn't inform the potential customer/inquirer that the insurance is not a quote from multiple carriers but only Allstate. It does not inform you that you will not receive a free online insurance quote. Instead, what I received after inputting my home address information for a home insurance quote was a message that I needed to contact an agent at the number provided. I did not want to contact an agent, especially not from Allstate Insurance.
l thought that since I did not call, the matter was over. I and my husband each received a letter from Allstate within a week informing us that they were/have (?) performed a credit check. FOUL! What if after they provided an insurance quote I was not interested in completing? They handled this as if I had to proceed. They handled this as if I had no choice and would be lucky if they decided to give me a quote; as if I would definitely accept whatever quote they gave me. Not pleased. Not purchasing insurance of any kind from Allstate/Esurance.

After over a week trying to get someone from Esurance to resolve my claims issue, customer service called a couple days ago. Today, the other Representative, Josh, called. I'm glad they finally called back, explained everything to me, and corrected everything. Thank you Esurance.
Original Review: March 6, 2018
On January 22, 2018, I drove my buddy home, and due to icy conditions, slid down his driveway backwards and hit his tree. Messed up the back of my Jeep. After that, I was on my way home, slid sideways on the icy road, went into a ditch on my right side. Esurance made me file two claims due to being two accidents. Had two representatives, Josh and Terrence. Then they combined the two claims for a total damage amount and totaled my Jeep. Then Josh says Terrence is going to handle everything from that point on. We had to ask specifics, and the fastest Terrence ever called was when I gave him a 3 on their survey! On February 9, they paid off the Jeep, then I see they put the case closed on February 13, and the other claim closed January 31! Finally call to find out the value of the Jeep was $7890, and that we should see our check the next 7 days.
After paying off the Jeep, there was $2900 left. On February 26, I call to find out how much our check is - $750 due to "prior accident damage." We find out they closed the "ditch" claim, kept open the "tree" claim, then called the "ditch" claim "prior to accident damage" and deducted $2175!!! I have a copy of the "prior damage to accident" list. I have emailed not only the representative, but also the main Claims Department in Texas, letting them know their "prior accident damage" happened AFTER the "tree" accident, NOT before.
I haven't received a call, email, nothing except the $750 check (just got that yesterday). I'm not cashing it until I have no choice. Seems like if a company has incorrect paperwork that causes the client to lose money owed them, and they refuse to do anything, that at that point it would be defrauding the customer, or some form of false claim representation or something, but apparently they're allowed to cheat, lie, and take their clients money from them legally. Honesty does not pay off with companies like this. If I knew then what I know now...

I talked to the rep Austin and in over a week had no idea what had happened to my car let alone how much it would cost or how to fix it. I had to get a friend from Allstate to call him and figure it out. The initial person I filed a claim with decided my car would be a total loss *it wasn't*. They towed it 40 miles from my town. My friend got it straightened out and Esurance was supposed to send my car to an auto shop of my choice. My car showed up at the shop and Esurance had not contacted anyone at the shop and the towtruck driver wanted to be paid.
I received a call this morning, four days later, and Esurance has still not contacted the shop. I have called the rep four or five times and felt he did not seem to know or care about my problems. Our goal is to get you back on the road as fast as we can. I have been without my car for almost 2 weeks. Their goal is bull crap. I signed up for Esurance because of their ads. I'm not sure if theirs was the lowest quote at the time, but I signed up because of their claims of a simple sign-up and claims process. Someone ran me off the road a few months later, and the claims process initially seemed simple. They accepted the claim. Eventually it was a total loss. It would have been nice to have been notified sooner, so I could remove that car from the policy.
It took well over 6 months to see any money on my claim. They don't tell you up-front, on their site, or in any documentation all the information you need to submit for a claim. They kept coming back for more documentation or changing what information they wanted. It took forever to finally get them all the information, which I could have had prepared if they gave me all the information upfront. They paid me about 90% of the claim, then I had to submit a couple documents to get the rest. That's time I had to schedule away from work or go get paperwork signed and notarized. I ended up getting another car before I got any claim money from them.
Then I was constantly charged late fees because I asked for my billing date to be changed, but all they did was postpone it each month. Sometimes their system doesn't update. I add a card. I get confirmation it's added. Then somehow the previous card still ends up getting charged, and they say the old one is the only one they have on file.
About a year after this claim a guy stops in front of me, and I barely bump him, but he wants to file a claim. Esurance pays out practically nothing to fix a little paint chip, but they try to double my rates which are already too high for me having no issues on my driving record outside of that no-fault accident. Of course I'm listed as at fault because they try to call me for like 2 days, and I can't respond due to being at work, so they just decide to go ahead and pay his claim. I was planning to change companies once I got all my claim money, but this accident happened. So, not only are their rates higher, it's affecting me getting a decent quote from anyone else.

They came back with an offer of 7258 still not what I paid. They said I had no other choice but to take it. There is no more they can do.
They also told me they "KNOW IT SUCKS, TO LOSE MONEY ON IT" but it's not their fault I overpaid for the truck. Which the truck was 8900 I talked them down to 8000 plus tax and all. Knowing this and only wanting to be made whole again I wanted more. It's not my fault I was hit. So I even said, "Give me the 7258 and the truck back." But they said no. The salvage would cost me almost 700. So as of then I didn't know I had other options. I've never done this before. I had them send me the check. Have not cashed it. They then later sent me the list of trucks they comped mine to so they could get the value. The 1st wasn't even the same. It was a year different which makes it another generation entirely plus double the miles. The 2nd was the same with double the miles, a smaller engine and half the options and then the last was my truck. They literally compared my truck to my truck.
The program searched for comparisons and found the original ad for my truck VIN and all with the price of 8900. They then did "their" math and came to the conclusion that the comp version of my truck was worth 8089. And they only listed the options that were on the listing so far less than what it really Has so it is actually a low value. Granted it has 1500 miles more but to lose out almost a thousand dollars. And I repeat these are the same VIN numbers and they are saying they are worth different amounts completely. Sorry for the long post. So much for me overpaying for the truck. I actually paid less than they said it was worth. Oh and if you go on the Web page it says ACV. In their eyes means market price or original purchase minus depreciation. But she said on the phone is they are not responsible to pay what I paid for it only what they think it's worth in the market.

2.5 hours later and they finally found a service location that would come and change our spare tire. To change a tire. I called their 888 number first, and roadside assistance could did not have anyone in the area. They called the nearest place and said my car was too far for them to come. They transferred me over to Esurance and said they’d be able to help better than roadside assistance could. I get transferred and go through the motions of explaining who, what, where, how... My info is taken down and they said they’d TRY and locate someone to come and change the spare and let me know. 20 mins. goes by and no status update.
I call back and get someone different this time, of course. They checked their back end and said the notes the previous rep took and added in my files were awful and they’d switch me to their tire service. They’re finally able to help and said a driver would be there in 40-50 mins.! An hour later, 2 thugs arrive and grab the spare from the car. The spare has no air. Their compressor doesn’t work. Time to take an Uber home. I will be doing this myself. And also switching providers tomorrow. I’ve had it! You should be embarrassed!! I’m embarrassed for you!

I am very disappointed in the customer service I received from Esurance. I had been a customer with them for three years. I had cancelled my policy since I was not driving my vehicle, and wanted to re-open my policy. Since I had disclosed the information to them that I may be moving to Illinois in the next few months, even though I am still a California resident, they refused to give me a policy in California. I needed to be insured in California in order to re-new my registration. They told me to go find a new insurance company. Again, I am very disappointed and will never use Esurance again, nor will I ever recommend them as an insurance company.

So I started looking for someone to do the work. Found someone then the weather was bad. No one could get on my roof. Called Esurance which is an ordeal and was told my policy would be cancelled if the work wasn't done by Christmas Day.
Finally spoke with someone who begrudgingly gave me a week extension and the work was done after Christmas. This put a bad taste in my mouth. They sent out paper work for me to sign. This all seemed well intentioned, until I realized my lien holders had not even been contacted. Once I contacted them, they confirmed my fears. My insurance company was trying to rush through the process and send a check for a BS amount. Now to break it down even further.
My claims rep has gone on vacation twice during this whole process. He cannot be reached by the lien holders, and has not called me in over a month. His answer machine says he will be vacation for another month. I sent a stern email to him and his boss and he called right away. I cannot buy a new car until this account is closed. This account will not be closed until they send off the re-evaluated estimates, the lien holders agree, and they send the other check. My claims rep sent me power of attorney forms weeks ago, and expected me to sign over ownership of my vehicle before seeing the worth of my car. A month has passed and me and my lien holders are waiting on the same document. This has been a nightmare, and in the meantime my lien holders still expect a car note.

On 6/19/2017, I notified Esurance that my car was involved in a flood and that I wanted to have my car repaired if possible. On 6/20/2017, Esurance had my vehicle towed from my home and to their shop (Edward Chevrolet) to be inspected and if they would be able to determine if my car was covered for damages that were flood related. On the evening of 6/22/2017, we received a voicemail from "Eric" from Esurance that advised that they spoke with the mechanic that inspected our vehicle and that it "appeared" our car failed to operate not from flood waters but from a mechanical engine failure and that "coolant had leaked into the back of the engine" and caused it to hydrolock.
After listening to Eric's voicemail, I myself contacted Esurance's Rapid Responses Department that same night a bit after 9 PM as I was leaving work and spoke with either a "Jackie or "Jacquelyn". She advised us per the notes that they had spoken with the mechanic from Edward's Chevrolet "Josh" that advised them after his thorough research it appeared that the issue with our vehicle was mechanical. She also stated on the call that the mechanic did see that other parts of the car located under the hood did have "some water damage" but nothing to do with the failure of the engine.
On 6/24/2017, I was contacted by Herbert ** from the Florida office that advised us the same thing however, he could not find any notes stating that anyone told us there was flood water damage on other parts of the vehicle. I told Mr. ** at that time that not only did a representative tell us that but that our own mechanic came to our home on the morning of 6/19/2017 and also seen that flood water was in the air filter and in the oil pan when he pulled out the oil stick it was lighter than oil should be because it was mixed with water. He advised us that if water was in the oil then more than likely it had entered into the engine as well.
Mr. ** then advised us that he had spoken with the mechanic from their shop (Edward's Chevrolet) and that he said Josh would be performing a full breakdown inspection of the engine that upcoming Monday on 6/26/2014 to confirm that they believe it was truly mechanical. On 6/28/2017, I sent an email to Mr. ** because we had not heard anything regarding what was going on regarding the breakdown of our engine and if our claim was going to be ruled mechanical or approved to be repaired due to flood damages. He contacted me about 10 minutes later and advised me that Esurance was NOT going to pay to have the engine inspected and instead WE the consumers were responsible for the cost of the inspections which was $745+ to determine rather or not if the engine was stalled due to mechanical or flood water.
So I asked then, so how can Esurance be prepared to deny my claim when the engine was never inspected? Edward Chevrolet told Esurance that they would have to pay to have the engine inspected and Esurance REFUSED to pay yet they were ready to deny my claim based off a mere assumption without a thorough inspection. So I demanded to have my car thoroughly inspected by another mechanic within THEIR network because I no longer trusted my vehicle at the Edward's Chevrolet dealer. I also asked Mr. ** how can they deny my claim when there was flood waters in the oil and air filter. Mr. ** then claims he never was aware of this when I told in this on 6/24/2017 and their mechanic also stated this to them as well.
Mr. ** then tells me he will check into me having another mechanic shop look at my vehicle and that he'll "call me back in a few minutes". I have yet to this day hear back from him. On 6/29/2017, After not hearing anything else from Esurance regarding further inspection we arranged for our vehicle to be towed at our expense to the mechanic shop at City Auto Sales. On 6/30/2017, we received a letter from Esurance pretty much advising us that we had the right to seek legal counsel and that they were pretty much getting ready to deny our claim due to mechanical failure when our vehicle had not had a full inspection.
On 7/1/2017, City Auto Sales inspected our vehicle and advised us that after thorough inspection they DID find that flood water was in the oil and engine and that ultimately was the reason my engine hydrolocked. City Auto Sales mechanic shop notified Esurance and advise them of this that very day. Today on 7/6/2017, Esurance notified us and advises us that they NOW will send their own car inspector out to thoroughly inspect our vehicle before moving forward on either denying or honoring our claim. This is absolutely ridiculous. However, we are ready to pursue this matter legally should Esurance want to deny our claim or continue to give us the run around. In the end rather they win or lose, they will lose more rather than simply repairing our vehicle and moving on to the next claim. Our claim in the next 12 days will have been opened for an entire month with no resolve! Totally unacceptable!

I was going to move for work and initially just quoted things out. I received rejection as a customer just for quoting a different state (policy will be cancelled on X date) in a letter not even detailing why. So, of course, since I was rejected by Esurance after years of being a faithfully paying customer, I went and found new insurance company. I am not owned by a company and will not play games. I had to switch to insurance for the new state by that time but BEWARE not only will quoting new state insurance lose you your coverage from Esurance, they will keep any refunds you are owed for leaving them early because it is a different state and so minimum requirements may be different so they are "liable" even if you want a refund because they were getting rid of you as a customer and you found another company to replace them early.
When you speak to their representatives, they apparently don't know this information - all you need is a declaration page and your refund will be on its way. And the review board that decides the additional rules doesn't speak to customers, ever. So there is no way to deal with this matter except through legal advice/counsel/representation.

Esurance promises you a "seamless online and MOBILE experience to help take the hassle out of insurance" which is false! I've had a policy with them since 2015. I trusted Esurance to insure my first home as a first home-buyer. I filed my first claim in 2016 for hail damage. I had a contractor/friend tell me he seen hail damage to my gutters, which made him think I should have someone come out from my insurance company to access. I called; an adjuster came out and found nothing! (Mind you, they came to my correct address-Primary Residence.) In the meantime, I requested for my email address and mailing address to be updated. Esurance showed my previous address as my mailing address, although I never had any policies with them through my previous home. They never updated it.
Fast forwarding to now, June 16, 2017, Bellevue NE experienced a EF2 tornado and I had significant damage to my home. I called Saturday, June 17, 2017 to file a claim. I was told I had to "itemize" every piece of chicken, package of ribs, etc. that I threw out of my freezer (located in my garage) because we were out of power for 2.5 days and other folks in my area 4 days. I still haven't received payment for my food. My parents have USAA. They immediately deposited the money for food during their initial conversation. The insurance lady, Stacey, was very sweet and empathetic to the natural disaster we experienced. On Monday, June 19, I asked Stacey to review my policy with me because I have 4-5 holes in my roof and over 120+ damaged shingles. She explained in January 2017, my policy was changed, REMOVING, the RCV (extended roof coverage).
My initial thoughts were, "Who removed this?" Later, it was found that Esurance did because of the age of my roof. It was 10 yrs old. To notify me of this policy change, Esurance emailed me on the INCORRECT email address, then sent hard copies of this information to the INCORRECT address. The mail was returned back to them: INVALID ADDRESS! In the notes, it also says, "DID NOT CALL THE CUSTOMER" even after they received and NOTED my account of the returned mail with the important policy change to the incorrect address.
The employee Justin (policy worker) ** advised me Esurance is a online web based company and I am responsible for updating them with my address. Although, my address NEVER changed!?? I never had them cover my rental. That insurance was through USAA. I asked Justin, "Do you guys not have an audit team? Someone who reviews to see why documents were returned, why does her policy show a different address to be insured but her mailing address doesn't change? Or better yet, CALL HER???" I took this information as, "Sorry that you're the paying customer, and that you have holes in your roof, paid your premium in advance-through 2018, but it's still not our fault!" As the paying customer, who assumed that I had the initial coverage that I signed up for in 2015. I am now, getting ready to pay thousands of dollars, due to a mishap, gap, and awesome customer service by Esurance.
Justin made a point to tell me, "We are an online based company; we do not have to call you! We communicate through email!" So, if you're a Esurance customer, CHANGES will be made, as they see fit to your policy. They will NOT call you because they "assume" your email address is correct and valid. Even if they receive RETURN mail, they assume you will log in and see the policy changes because you should (assume) pay attention to everything, even when it NEVER reaches you. It will be your fault when a tornado comes and rips shingles, manipulate shingles, lifts nails and puts holes in your roof. YOU will come out thousands of dollars on the behalf of your insurance company not upholding their part of the bargain.
I've since spoken with Esurance 4-5 times, and every time I speak to them, they say, "I will update your email address." I'm sure it's not. I'm sure the incorrect address is still showing and when another issue happens, it will be my fault again. I would highly suggest you pay a higher premium at a different insurance company to ensure you get proper coverage, good customer service, rest assurance and peace of mind. Do not use Esurance, AllState, or any other insurance company with lower premiums. As a new homeowner, you will be screwed and all responsibility will be lifted off of them and put on you.

Spoke to a supervisor who assured me that there has been a mistake and I should ignore all - my rate would stay the same.
A few weeks after that I sold one of my cars. Called to remove it from the policy - my premium went up... $200 for 6 months (**). I decided I did not want to be with these jokers anymore. A bull pine tree fell on top of my beloved suburban totaling it. It happened in the high country, far anywhere. A friend took us back to civilization, we called Esurance. They were calm, comforting and were willing to offer us another vehicle to drive right away until we found something else. All we had to do was take a few pics from our phone and forward them. After calling to let them know I had quotes that were much better from other companies, they looked and gave me a lower rate. If you're loyal to a company and pay on time they should do this automatically. By doing so they are loyal to you, the paying customer.

I've had Esurance for a few years. Two months ago I lost my debit card. I thought I had contacted everyone but noticed Esurance wasn't coming out of my account and it clicked that I obviously had not called them. So, I called and the young lady told me my account had CLOSED! She said they emailed me (I assume it was spammed) and sent something in the mail (to the wrong address), which is great, thanks for trying... but no phone call??! We all know the obvious reasons auto insurance is important... It's even more important if you have a loan or have leased your vehicle - the lender can take the car back if you do not have full coverage insurance!!! This was the first issue with them...
My second issue is that because my coverage has been canceled over a MONTH, unbeknownst to me, I have to re-apply... So, I do, and they tell me my coverage is now going to be TWICE what my premium was before BECAUSE I had a LAPSE IN COVERAGE! What??! When I asked for a Supervisor the young lady said "Sure, but they're going to tell you the same thing - nothing we can do about the rate because you had a LAPSE IN COVERAGE"! I get the Supervisor (very snippy) and what happens?? Exactly what the young lady said... "NOTHING WE CAN DO... Sorry!" Went round and round with her for a minute before I finally ended the call in disgust.
Bottom line, it was my fault for losing the card. However, I would hope that a company I give money to every month (I have never had a claim in my LIFE) would use all of their resources get in contact with me. Insurance is important. It is there to PROTECT you. They did anything but protect me by not trying all avenues and instead letting my coverage lapse. What if I had been in a terrible accident and hurt someone else or myself... What if my lender took my car back... I'll tell you--I WOULD HAVE BEEN ROYALLY SCREWED AND ESURANCE WOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN A FLYING... PIG... ABOUT IT! End Rant.

So I call them which to let everyone know they were so rude and unprofessional so I asked for his Supervisor which his name was Emery and he was very rude as well. I had to tell him to stop overtalking me every time I tried to talk. The rep was an Adam employee number **.
So the one reason they said they were dropping me was for an accident that I was a passenger in on my boyfriend's insurance in his car and his insurance is paying all my medical bills and loss of wages. He has insurance with a different company and it was his car. Also they told me because I spend the night at his house too much and I am driving from my home in MD to his house in PA. They could no longer allow that. So they are saying I cant spend the night at his house every now and then. Like are you serious? I then asked what if I had a sick mother I had to go see every now and then in another state I couldn't drive there and stay to visit and they said no. I canceled my policy in January because the rates were adjusted for because of the "annual" reassessment and I found rates lower than what I was paying before the adjustment. I had the drive sense and was told I had 30 days from the day my policy ended in mid-February to return the device. I asked if I could return it early and was told I could. I sent the device back using the label they sent me and even received confirmation of its delivery from UPS.
Fast forward to the beginning of March and I received a bill for the restocking fee of the device. I called them to let them know I sent it back and the rep had to put me on hold for 8 minutes while she searched for proof it was delivered. I gave her the date it was delivered and the name of the person who signed for it. She then said ok and she would waive the restocking fee. I thought the matter closed until 4/11 when I got a call from a collection agency regarding my non-payment of the restocking fee. They threatened my credit number and they even went as far as to say if I had paid my bills they wouldn't need to call me.
I sent the agency proof of the waived fee and then I called Esurance to find out why it was turned over to collections when I already took care of everything back in January. The rep said their computers were down and she couldn't access the system and it should be resolved in a week. When I said that was unacceptable I was told their system was down and that is the best they could do. Long story short I now have to wait a week to see this resolved. I left them because they're system was always down and there are better rates to be had elsewhere and this is just one more example of the horrible customer service they offer. I have recovered from that accident and my 2015 MRI showed 3 disk bulges since my last MRI. It doesn't matter what all my doctors said or what I said or what the MRI or X-ray said. I was told first my pain recovery check was for $6500. I waited for weeks for the check. Then I called him and he told me the check is also for Medical payments. I told him it does not make sense since my medical payments is more than $6500. Esurance agent told me that medicare only take $200-$300 for medical payment and he will let me know the amount before he sends the check to medicare. Instead, he did not let me know and sent the entire check to medicare for $6500. Again, more lies.
I called, he did not acknowledge the mistake and told he doesn't know what Medicare is going to take. I asked him what I should do now since you sent the entire check to medicare. He told me to contact Medicare. I contacted Medicare and Medicare told me to write them a letter to explain the circumstances. Today, I found out the Medicare is going to send a check to Esurance in the amount of $3451.88. Again, another lie, the medical payment was not $200-300. The medical payment that Medicare took from my supposedly check for pain in suffering as I and he first agreed was $3048.12. Beware of Jacob ** from Esurance! My car ended up with some hail damage after the recent storm. I anticipated being able to use my "full coverage" insurance to repair this damage, and figured that the only cost to me would be the deductible. Boy, was I sadly mistaken? My ordeal begins when he sends me to get an estimate at Caliber Collision, which is where they send all policy holders that live in this area. Caliber Collision gives me this high estimate on my car for more than $6,000. Six thousand dollars. For hail damage.
The estimate sounded a bit high to me, but I figured that all I needed to worry about was the $500 deductible. At this point, the process seemed fairly routine and I thought that everything was fine. I was feeling relieved about having kept up with my policy and was looking forward to getting a mini-makeover for my car. Little did I know that it was going to hurt me in the long run. Apparently, with Esurance, even seemingly cosmetic damage is enough to cause their adjusters to total out a car. They gave me a check for an amount that was barely a fraction of the estimate provided by Caliber. Adding insult to injury, they put salvage on my title.
My message to everyone is that if your car is older, it isn't worthwhile to have full coverage on it. The insurance company will happily set up a full coverage policy for you and take your money each month, but will not take care of you when the time comes. As if all this wasn't bad enough, when I started shopping other companies, I discovered that they screwed me over previously when my car was hit as it was parked. They filed it under collision instead of comprehensive. They are super **.

I believe her delay may be based on your race because she has already made accusations of fraud against me to my attorney and the adjuster based on the area of Chicago in which I live and suggested that you would purposefully damage the steering to my own vehicle. She is also purposefully delaying payment of my claim when she and her investigator Tony, also in Florida, already have third-party statements from the gas station where your auto was stolen that the vehicle was driven off site, which it could not have done if the steering was broken prior to theft.
Debbie also has statements from the dealer where the vehicle was immediately towed (because it could not be driven when the police found it running with the windows down) that the power steering is broken and requires repair in addition to the other damage that was exhibited upon recovery. Today I learned that Tony was told a few days following the date of loss that he could attain the video tape from the gas station with a police request and that similar thefts had taken place at the same gas station recently. Instead of following up and attaining the tape through the police or even sending a letter to the gas station to make a copy for your company, Tony did nothing.
As of today, the tape has been recorded over and lost the proof that the police could have used to arrest the person who stole and damaged my car if Tony had done what he told the gas station he was going to do last week. Even though you live in the area of Chicago that the President says is the worst in America, doesn't give her the right to play games and not pay my claim. Their first mistake was towing my car to a place 45 MIN AWAY FROM MY HOUSE when I had a tow yard just 10 minutes away from my house. I was shocked to find out that it was totaled. While trying to purchase this policy, the session timed-out and I had to log back in to retrieve the quote only NOW, the quoted premium was $591 / 6 months. Thinking that there was an error in the quote, I reentered all of my information for a new quote -- surprisingly (or not) the premium was now $612 / 6 months and I gave up for the day.
On 12/24/16, I tried again... Retrieved my previous quote for $591 and tried to purchase but, after having to reenter my information that was supposed to be "saved", the premium was now $622, $641, $643 and $653 for the EXACT SAME COVERAGE LIMITS that were quoted at $549 just the day before! I called and complained to customer service and tried to get them to make sense of the ever-changing (although ALWAYS changing to be a few dollars more, never less), the explanation I got was something to the effect of, "Quoted premiums are subject to change, Policy premiums are set and do not change." My answer to that was, "I understand that quoted premiums might change or fluctuate a couple of dollars of the course of a few days or weeks or months but increasing almost $100 within 12 hours is ridiculous!" The representative basically advised me that there was nothing they could do about the premium -- take it or leave it.
After reading all of these other reviews about non-existent customer service and claims processing, I'm glad that I didn't make the same mistake! I feel swindled by this company for a second time, 12 years apart. The first time was so flagrant and undefendable that I thought after 12 years that a national company would have corrected their policy. The first time they quite simply gave me a cost and shortly thereafter arbitrarily raised it. After I initially agreed and sent them the money that they asked for to get the policy started, they contacted me by email raising the price. When I complained, also by email in case it matters, they did not respond. I found out at this point that to cancel the policy would cost me $50, and I would also pay for the brief period during which they insured my car. Instead I decided to stay the 6 months rather that just plain lose $50.
The second time just lately, it was essentially the same experience except that they went to the extra step of telling me why they were raising the initial rate, which was based on the amount of mileage that I estimated that I'd be driving in the upcoming year. They asked for proof and suggested past service repair receipts. When I supplied them with these documents that verified the same mileage that I had stated on the application, they ignored this evidence and upon receiving it they again insisted that my premium would be the higher amount. I told them "no", that I would not pay it and told them to cancel the policy, which now for two weeks had been active, and that if they did not refund the full amount of the deposit, I would let others know that they are a dishonest and deceptive company thru reviews like this one.
So that is it. I am out $75 even though we never even agreed on a price. But they had my good faith deposit, so there was nothing that I could do. My car has 65,000 miles on it after 15 years of use, all put on by me except for the first year. I am still trying to get insured at a lower rate than the typical car owner who puts on 15,000 miles a year. On top of that, as of 6 months ago I have been living in a rural area. We drive our car today only once every week or two. The proof I sent them was two service repair receipts that showed that during the most recent 4 month period between these repairs I drove about 2000 miles, or 500 miles a month, extrapolated to 6000 miles a year.

They hid behind a claim that they were "doing it to protect me". When I talked to an underwriter, however, I was informed my rates would go up.
This seems to me like a blatant attempt to harm their consumer base. I feel like my story had been entirely ignored and my documentary evidence was not listened to. I called my loan company and found this information out, I was never notified or called by Esurance. I'll be switching companies first thing Monday. I now owe hundreds to my loan company because Esurance switched me from full coverage and didn't tell me. I called Esurance and the lady rudely said I should have noticed my bill went down. I told her to check again, my bill NEVER WENT DOWN and she checked and then said "oh". I will never do business with them again.

I was hit from behind in a car accident by a man who was sadly insured with Esurance. I paid 14k for the car but they are giving me 9k because that is what it is worth online. The problem is that no dealer is willing to pay 9k for the same 2010 Nissan Altima SL with under 100000 miles on it. I have given them multiple comparisons that were at least 1k over what they are willing to pay me and they all are very fair comparisons with the similar miles and same make. They all have been dismissed as not legitimate for some reason or another. The depreciation on the car is 1 1/2 years and they are giving me 5k less than what I paid for it. I'm a young college student and I feel I'm being taken advantage of because it doesn't seem very fair at all that I be at such a loss. This company is garbage.

This is not customer service. In fact America has come to know no customer service. It has became our culture because people and corporations do not care about the little guy. I will pay this. He kept telling me I don't have what I say I have and I told him I had just changed my insurance a month ago and I know what I have. He stated that he was the insurance person and he knows. So I said "well yes or no will you send me a copy of it" because I will not talk to him about it until I can compare it side by side and he hung up on me! Just so you know, the quote I got for car insurance from this company (pleasure only) turns out to be almost THREE times as much as I was paying in Canada, and that was for driving my car to work. I am an accident free, 60 year old driver, with 30 years of a clean driving record. This company insists on charging me, because I am new to US, as if I was a teenager of 16. And they actually penalize people for choosing to live for periods without a car!! In other words, your premiums go up if you have had a period without car insurance. In a world in which we are encouraged to use public transit, walk and bike to get cars off the road? There has to be a better system.
I was also offended by the types of questions they asked me about my personal life (married, domestic partner, widowed etc). This might be standard for insurance companies down here in the U.S. as they assess your risk factors, but think about it. Did they asked if I drank alcohol or smoked pot? No. Did they ask me what race I am? No. Answers to these questions must also provide relevant actuarial data, but they would be considered an invasion of privacy. So why, then, cannot my marital status be none of their business?

We have had Esurance for 2 years. Our monthly premium started at $62 a month. Exactly 2 years later, our monthly premium is $96 a month. We have had no accidents, tickets or claims in the last 2 years, nor have we changed our policy. We have the same cars we had when we started with them 2 years ago. The first 6 months we apparently had an "online shopper" discount for $8. The rest of the increases took place every month for $1 or $2 a month.
The rep that cancelled our policy estimated that this time next year, we would be at approximately $115 a month based on the regular increases we have had. Over $40 more in 3 years with no changes to our policy or driving record?!?! I called a few times in the last 6 months to ask why the regular increases were taking place, and I was told that "other people in our area were filing a lot of claims". I would NOT recommend you buy insurance unless you want regular increases to reward your perfect driving record!

I had my first accident claim to file with an insurance company. A deer ran out and the damage was a complete loss to Esurance. The loss actually is that I chose Esurance. They didn't want to pay for repairs because if it is a total loss, I get to cover the auto loan because they only paid 25% of the loan. All State gap insurance only cover what your insurance covers. I get to pay the other 50% to pay off my loan. So, I paid $42,000 over the last 7 years for them to cover 1/4 of the car. I just want to save the next person from wasting their money. I found a cheaper rate from another company a few days before my policy was to renew, so I called esurance to tell them I would not be renewing my policy. Since I had recurring billing, that was one month ahead, the first payment had already come out, so the customer service lady told me I had a refund of $224 coming back. That was nice to hear. She said they would be crediting it back to my last known payment method which was a debit card and bank account I had recently closed, and replaced. I told the woman this, and she said ok, she would note it in the system, and request that I get a paper check. I said fine.
Well, they then sent me an email on August 20 saying that my refund was processed, and had been electronically sent to my debit card... the same one I had told the woman was closed. I called my bank, the transaction never reached them at all... they said even if they had sent it to my old card, they could see it, and put it in my active checking account.
So I called esurance again, and told them the deal, and that I never received my refund. They said that it showed my refund was sent, and accepted by my bank, and there was nothing more they could do. So, long story short, it is now Sept. 10. This has been going on for almost a month now. I've been making calls and doing everything I can to find my money. My bank has been very cooperative and helpful, they did a full investigation, and still say the refund is no place to be found on their end. I even asked esurance for a tracking number, and they gave me some 23 digit number that neither me, nor my bank found helpful. My bank said if I could get them to give me the full debit card number they sent the money to, they could make sure it got sent to the right card.
Also, in case that didn't work, they told me to ask esurance to give me the tracking number that goes along with every electronic transaction. Basically, when I asked for this info from esurance, I was told the long, useless number they gave me to "track the money" was all they had, and they couldn't give me my full debit card number to verify it's correct, because they cannot see the whole number, just the last 4 digits?! Then how the hell have they been charging my debit card in the past?! They pretty much said there is nothing they can do for me. My theory?: Esurance screwed up and sent my money to someone else's debit card, and doesn't want to do the necessary digging for me to get it figured out. I'm sure that someone probably got an unexpected credit of $200 to their debit card... I bet they're happy. Thanks for all your help esurance!

I switched to Esurance probably 7 years ago after my son had been rear-ended by an Esurance customer. At that time the company was superlative in every way and so I canceled my policy at the time and went with Esurance. In 2015 upon moving to another state, I continued with Esurance auto and added Homeowners. Sometime between 2007 and 2015... Esurance became an Allstate company and the result is disastrous.
I have spent HOURS in 2016 trying to clear up errors on their part that caused jumps in my rates of $500... twice. Once on the auto which was squared away and shown to be THEIR fault... not mine. And now all of a sudden the renewal on my homeowners also jumped $500 and once again I have spent hours and hours trying to clear this up. Their procedure is to just say whatever... and then do as they please.
Currently on Aug 24 I received a renewal for my Homeowners slated to roll over six weeks later on Oct 5. The policy cost had gone up $500. I immediately called Esurance and told them I was not renewing at this price. I went over every line of the policy with the Licensed Representative. She could find no reason for the increase and sent the policy back to Underwriting telling me I WOULD hear from them within 48 hours. A week later and one month before the renewal was to go into effect, Esurance drafted my bank account for the first payment on the new policy which I had NOT renewed, did not accept or agree to, did not authorized and I had notified them more than 10 days prior.
I took issue with this procedure but could have been talking to a wall. They refused to reverse the charge claiming it was a cancellation and as such could not be REFUNDED until the rollover date. If I had decline to renew the policy and not authorized any payment then how could this be a REFUND. I did not pay it or authorize it. They just took it.
Only after numerous emails, calls and a complaint directly to the State Insurance Dept... suddenly they reversed their claims!! I did not have to wait 6 weeks to get my REFUND. Suddenly they put it through right away and despite their warnings it might be my BANK'S FAULT if it did not show up for 2 weeks... strangely my REFUND shows in my bank account today. They not only stole my money... Esurance stole my time. I went right out and got another policy locally for $1400 LESS a year than Esurance. Allstate is a horrible company and now they have made Esurance over in their model. STAY AWAY. You can do much better.

I got a quote that seemed to be about $60 cheaper than my current auto + renters insurance. I also changed my deductible from $500 to $1000. I put in my drivers license number and social at the end of the quote for them to verify my driving record. I had one ticket and accident (not at fault). Both my ticket and accident were from 3 years ago. They asked me to pay my first month and additional month initially. I had no problem with that since I assumed I would eventually see that extra month.
4 or 5 days go by and I receive an email from Esurance saying that my premium is going to increased immediately. My premium went up significantly. My monthly payments went from $134 to $290. When I emailed them to see what happened, I was told that they found that the accident I indicated was my fault. I told them I was not at fault and that my current insurance company even has the records to prove it. Once I sent over all the information to prove I was not at fault, they told me it didn't matter. I don't understand how you can give me a quote and use my personal information (Social and license #) and the quote not be correct. I also do not understand how a higher deductible that my current insurance company would not drop the price but make it more expensive.
Needless to say, I didn't cancel my other insurance company since I hadn't received my insurance card with esurance yet. I decided to cancel esurance and stay with State Farm. Esurance ended up taking $50 for being with them for 4 days. I had to keep asking for my refund. Finally after a week of constant emails and phone calls, they tell me they have submitted a refund to my bank. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They also told me that the extra month of insurance you pay initially is considered equity and you never see this money again unless you cancel, and it loses its equity.

I am very disappointed with Esurance and they are consistent with Geico in that they will initially offer a low premium for the first 6 months and upon renewal, increase their rate exponentially. Esurance increased my premium by over 20% claiming that the State has authorized a premium rate increase, but failed to list statistics justifying the underlying cause. They simply claim that due to higher payouts for accident coverage in the state as a whole led to a rate increase. This is exactly the same justification that Geico used to increase my rate by 25% which led to me switching to Esurance in the first place. (No claims nor accidents).
When I initially called Esurance six months ago and spoke to the representative, I expressed my concern with the tactics used by Geico to increase premiums every six months, and especially the 25% increase during the last renewal. I was assured by the Esurance policy preparer that would not happen and that my premium would remain the same at the next renewal if no accidents or claims were made against the policy. Clearly, this was a blatant untruth to secure the policy.
Today I spoke to Rebecca, who would not provide her last name or way to contact her, who claimed to be a licensed insurance agent for Esurance. When asked why my rates increased, she immediately read a prepared response saying that the state in which I reside authorized a rate increase. When pressed for statistics, she continued to read the same prepared response claiming accident payouts increased in my state, thus granting their company to seek premium adjustments. I asked her how this increase could equal to 20% and her response, and yes, this is her actual statement made very sarcastically, "Groceries increase each week and so do other expenses." I asked her to qualify her statement if she actually believed grocery prices increase 20% every six months, for a total of 40% each year... She reverted back to reading the prepared statement.
Consumer beware. They are very much akin to Geico and provide a teaser rate and at the six month renewal period, increase your rates exponentially. No claims or accidents, and simply blame it on the state. Lastly, I understand that a state can authorize a rate adjustment, but a 20% adjustment by this company and 25% by Geico is inexplicable.

He also said the house was under repair because the backside of a room was still being sided. No big deal and an easy fix however Esurance in their infinite wisdom decided at that time to put the value to rebuild my home to approx 570k then they increased the premium from less than 2k to 7K for the year. Needless to say I called and in talking with their rep we decided to put in a request for a new quote with all new information provided by THEIR inspector.
After placing the info we got a quote for half of the 7k they were asking. This whole process is now suspect in my opinion the entire process is set up to defraud people out of their money. If I were a younger man and needed or had to have their insurance this would be amazingly hard for me to pay. I think that is the bait and switch. Let's say lure them in with hopes of a decent price for insurance. Then once you hook them notify them via email that their payment will be close to quadruple the estimate. After many phone calls I finally gave up and just asked to cancel. At that time they confirmed my cancellation but continued to charge my CC. I was supposed to get a multi policy discount, but once applied my bill was still the same for my auto. Nobody was able to explain why my bill didn't go down with the "discount". 2 months after settling on the house we had to put in a claim because we noticed some water damage to the ceiling. They canceled our policy immediately because we put in a claim within 2 months of moving in. I have no idea how this is a legal thing to do, but they canceled us.
But it was a blessing in disguise because I got a better rate for more coverage with someone else now, for both auto and homeowners, and they still have to pay for our claim. I also did a DIY inspection by providing them with the appraisal we got from our mortgage company and they did not want to accept it. They wanted us to pay for an appraisal, which we refused to. After a few hours on the phone and back and forth they claimed that they are going to accept it but the policy is being canceled anyway because of our claim so it doesn't make a difference whether they accept it or not. I guess that's why they're mad and canceled our policy without explanation other than the 2 month period.

I am not blaming Esurance that the rate went up because of my claims history, BUT it is not ok to let customers know on the very day the policy goes in effect weeks later even though during the signing process they tell you this will be checked within 48 hours. Esurance is purposely waiting for rate increase information until the day policies become effective in hopes customers will just stick with it because it is a hassle to shop for a new provider at that point. I purchased a 6 month policy and paid in full on 6/4/2016. The cost was 321.69. I've been with them for 3 years and never had an issue. 6/14 I was billed another 43.61. I called and I was told it was a 'tax' charged by the city of Covington. I discovered this to be not true after contacting a city official. The rep who explained this simply and rudely said 'It's a tax, man!'. I then contacted Progressive, confirmed there is no such tax from my city and was provided with a much more inexpensive quote and purchased through them. I contacted Esurance to cancel this policy and I requested a FULL refund because they misquoted me. They agreed to provide me a full refund and advised me it would be processed electronically.
Upon contacting them again on 6/19 to ask where my refund was, they advised me that they could not process the refund electronically and have instead mailed me a paper check. They advised me to wait at least 10 days for the check which would be 6/30. I still have not received my refund, and today is 6/30. Upon advising them that I have not received it, they stated it was sent on 6/21 and to wait a few more business days. This is absurd, as the 2nd charge for 43.61 was unexpected. It was billed to my PayPal account which drew from my bank account resulting in overdraft fees. I had intended to use PayPal credit for my policy, however the way it was billed resulted in it being drawn from my account. I discovered this as I was trying to buy gas to see my dad on father's day.
I contacted them that day and demanded my money, and I suspect as a result they purposely delayed my refund. My bank has agreed to reverse the bulk of my overdraft fees, but there is still $15 dollars they billed for it being overdrawn for the time it was (it was a week before I got my check deposited). Esurance agreed to compensate me for that fee but they are demanding that I fax them my bank statement, and are refusing to accept a screenshot of my bank info online. I don't trust them enough to want to share my statement with them and don't feel like I should be obligated to, considering I can send multiple screenshots proving their charge resulted in the situation I was in.

I have read several reviews regarding Esurance including one which asked how he/she could rely upon these reviews. I'm hoping this will help: I have been an attorney for nearly 30 years specializing in personal injury claims. As such, I cannot tell you how many insurance companies I have dealt with but, rest assured, I have had matters with dozens of different companies. I left my insurance carrier for Esurance because of pricing. This was, by far, the worst decision I could have made. It is important to know that I chose Esurance because they are an "Allstate Company." My experiences with Allstate over the years is that they will stand by their insureds no matter what.
Approximately 5 weeks after purchasing the Esurance policy, my daughter had a terrible accident. Thankfully, she was okay. As the accident was only 1 mile from our home I was able to get to the accident scene rather quickly. The police had just arrived and were interviewing the other driver; they approached my daughter with paperwork but never asked her what happened. I asked them if they needed her version and was told that they had enough information. When I looked at the cars involved (there were two), my car was almost into the shoulder and was clearly totaled. The other vehicle had traveled into the intersection, struck my car spinning it 180 degrees and continued over two cement islands coming to rest approximately 50-60 feet away. That car, too, was totaled.
I immediately reported the accident to Esurance and was assured that a full investigation would happen. I was assigned an adjuster who, from the beginning, acted as if she was on the other driver's side. The adjuster had taken this driver's statement; this driver said that she watched my daughter driving from all the way to the left through the entire intersection against traffic! In short, if this driver was moving from the 6 o'clock position to 12 o'clock position (she was), she stated that my daughter was traveling from the 9 o'clock position to the 3 o'clock position. That would mean my child traveled nearly 6 lanes of moving traffic without a scratch.
Of course, this was not what the police indicated--my daughter was traveling from 12-6 o'clock. Esurance requested my daughter's statement (which I said we would give once we had the police report). The report came with a witness who indicated that the other driver ran a red light and my daughter struck the other driver. He said that the accident was the fault of the other driver. He had 2 passengers in his car. Esurance had the police report but, without my daughter's statement nor that of the witness, sent me a letter saying that my daughter was completely at fault for the accident. I sent a threatening letter, they re-opened the file, took more statements and, even after taking the statement of the witness determined that my daughter was 100% at fault.
I would NEVER recommend this company; they are extraordinarily difficult to deal with and do NOT act in good faith. I intend to file a lawsuit for bad faith (luckily I know how) but wonder how many people have been treated similarly that do not have the means to litigate against such a company. And, FYI, they are not really part of Allstate. Allstate purchased Esurance so as to have an online presence. I hope this has helped someone else out there.

I've been an Esurance customer for a couple of years now. We always pay on time because Esurance makes you pay automatically, and we have never filed any claims with them. My spouse and I both have excellent driving records, with no accidents or tickets for either of us. Our monthly payment for our two cars was about $200. Everything was fine until my husband scuffed a parked car in a grocery store parking lot, and then a week later it rained terribly here and my car flooded, totaling it out. Esurance handled the claim for my husband's fender bender quite well. They were very quick to respond to both myself and the gentleman whose car we scuffed.
An Esurance agent, Chris **, came to our house to evaluate my husband's truck, and cut a check made payable to both my husband and the repair shop they ended up selecting. When Mr. ** cut the check, he told my husband that we had rental reimbursement, and he could get a rental car whenever he was ready to drop his truck off at the repair shop. I know we had rental reimbursement, because I was put into a rental car that was paid for by Esurance for a few days after my car flooded and Esurance determined it was totaled. I was told at the time I made the claim for the flooded car that this particular claim did not count against me, and would not raise my rates.
When my husband was ready to get his truck fixed, we called Esurance simply to confirm that we did have rental coverage for this claim. The first two times I called in and went though the stupid automated menu, I was connected to an agent who then quickly HUNG UP ON ME. Both times. The third time I was connected to an agent, I began explaining my question, and the instant I mentioned the word "claim", he interrupted me and said he was going to transfer me to the claims department. I protested, but he spoke over me, and transferred me anyway. The lady in the claims department sounded like she already hated me, and as soon as I began explaining my question to her, she also interrupted me and transferred me to the agent who was over that particular claim, who, of course, was not in the office that day, so I left a voicemail.
During this time, Esurance charged me my monthly payment of about $200 - except that it was now $480, which they happily deducted without notifying me of the significant increase. After I was hit with this unexpected increase, I logged into my account and saw that my policy was set for renewal...at $580 a month! For coverage of ONE truck and two drivers with no record of accidents or citations (I removed my car after it was totaled and paid off by the bank). Of course we knew that our premium would go up, but we didn't expect it to nearly triple! I emailed Esurance (since they offer no live chat services and because I work for living, and therefore don't have all day to play around on the phone with snarky automated menus and rude agents who like to hang up on people) to inquire if this significant raise in my premium was adequate when compared to our nearly perfect driving record.
That was over a week ago, and I have never received any sort of reply, which I guess is a reply, in a sense. A nice, big ** reply. I also wasn't able to get in touch with the claims agent to confirm anything until I went to Twitter and started blowing up @EsuranceCares. Suddenly, Mr. Claims Agent had time to call me back. Not only did he say we WEREN'T covered for the rental car, he said that Mr. ** stated that he NEVER told us that. I get the feeling that we have been flagged, or marked in some sort of negative manner - presumably because we filed a claim with them. I still don't know if I am being penalized for the flooded car or not, but it doesn't matter. To expect a loyal and good customer to pay almost $600 A MONTH for coverage of ONE vehicle is absolutely absurd.
I received two quotes from two big names in the insurance game, and both are way cheaper for the exact same coverage I have now, and that's after informing both of them of my husband's accident and my flooded car. Esurance is obviously not interested in keeping customers if they increase their rates so ridiculously whenever someone utilizes the insurance coverage they pay for. As soon as we get my husband's truck fixed, we will be dropping Esurance like a bad habit and will go with one of the bigger names that also offers accident forgiveness.

I was a customer of Esurance for 1 week. When I originally did my policy over the phone I told the young man that I needed SR22. He assured me that it would not be a problem to add the SR22. Do feeling confident that I made the right choice with this insurance company, I said, "Ok let's write the policy up." Now my first quote without SR22 was $176.00. The very next day I called back to pay and the price went up to $327.00, I'm thinking it was because he didn't add the SR22 yet. So that was fine, I paid it. Within that same week I received a letter from the DMV telling me that I need to show proof of SR22 with my insurance company. I called Esurance to tell them what was needed before the DMV suspend my license.
The CS rep told me I didn't have SR22, and that if I wanted to add that I had to pay the first 6 months of SR22 up front first. Then she went on to say that it would be $752.00 to add the SR22 then they could send it over to the DMV. Ok, by this point I'm cursing, boiling, and going off on the phone at her. The only thing she kept saying was, "We can't don't anything for you or your SR22" because I didn't pay my first 6 months up front. I asked for the manager (I'm still cursing). No one never told me I had to pay my first 6 months up front if that was the case I would've never gave y'all my money from the start. So I asked the manager, "Will I be reimbursed my money back since I've only had y'all for 3 days?" The manager said, "No!!" That made me curse even more. How can you tell me I can't get my money back and you only covered me for 3 freaking days?
This manager told me the only way I can get my money back is if my license got suspended and the letter came to them from the DMV that they were suspended. That's it. I'm not going to wait for my license to be suspended before y'all pay me my money back. By this time, I'm crying and really upset. All of this happened on a Thursday, I only had 1 day to find another insurance company and my SR22 before that following Monday the day my license were to be suspended. I thank God for good people in my life because I'm with another insurance company where I didn't have to pay 6 months of SR22 up front, and I did all this on that Friday after Esurance bs. Something should be done about this company. I think they are crooked and they try to get extra money from people for things that are not even possible.
I've never know a insurance company to run your credit just to get homeowners insurance. How can you determine that I need to pay $98 monthly for 10,000 worth of homeowners insurance off my credit? This company is a fraud, they steal money any way that the can and someone really need to take a look into their files, and the customers complaints and why people are leaving them. Once again, Esurance is a Crooked insurance company that's stealing money from people, and from me reading all the other complaints this is and was something that Esurance has been doing for a while.

I have been insured with Esurance for a few years. At first we had a very reasonable policy premium. A few days later we are getting called from the underwriters that our policy was going up saying they just got the reports back and something's impacted the premium. They then called again a few days later wanting me to exclude my husband, who has a CDL license and drives for a living, from the policy due to his driving record. He had no accidents and no tickets for over 30 years but 1 speeding ticket he got in a work truck because the calibration was off and one minor bump on a vehicle that parked right behind our driveway on a street where parking is allowed on both sides of the street and made difficult to get out of our driveway. ABSURD!!
Next came an accident 12.30.15 which my granddaughter was authorized to drive the vehicle. It was raining. There was traffic and some ** came flying up the shoulder and cut someone off a few cars up so brakes were slammed, my granddaughter attempted to swerve to avoid an accident but caught the rear left bumper of the person in front of her. Essentially the vehicle was totaled but the body shop was able to maneuver the estimates in such a way that it didn't. A few days into the work on the vehicle, I get a call from someone at Esurance stating that if there's much more added to the estimate, they're just going to consider the vehicle a total loss to which I told him “Once work is started on a vehicle you can't turn around and total the vehicle.” Then I'm getting calls to exclude my granddaughter from the policy. NO WAY!!!
I fought long and hard about this and started looking for new insurance because I was told they weren't going to renew my policy. Then a few weeks later, I get a renewal offer. Great! Because changing insurance sometimes can be a hassle. The last straw was May 18, 2016. We get an email from an claims adjuster about an accident reported to one of my vehicles on May 17, 2016. I asked what he was talking about – none of my vehicles were in an accident. This is where it gets suspicious. An accident was reported as my granddaughter driving my vehicle which just happened to be reported as happening on a day my her and her another were on a plane coming home from Texas and just happened the alleged accident took place at the same exact spot as the December accident. They're claiming to have proof from the claimant, pictures.
How can there be damage to his car when there's none to mine and my vehicle was not on the road that day? I had to send pictures of the vehicle which I did which showed no damage. They tried for 3 weeks to get a hold of the claimant for pictures. Finally he sent stuff in. It's total ** and it's a set up from Esurance. The pictures sent to the adjuster show each car individually. I have had to fight because they're stating there's damage to the license plate which is proof. HELLOOO that is damage fr on the December accident!!! I demanded someone to come out in person which was done and he even said there's no damage and it would show splintering of paint if my car was in an accident. Next comes the call from a special investigator. Trying to intimidate my granddaughter in to confessing because it will be easier in the long run and the damage is only $950.
Sorry but NO, not confessing to something we didn't do. I spoke with his supervisor and FOUGHT with her too. I TOLD her to pull the files from the December accident. She can because she works for Esurance, and view both pictures together. There's preexisting damage that they were claiming was new. They wanted to come out and take my granddaughter’s statement. Hello are you stupid? She has already given her statement and had a statement of non involvement notarized. This is such a scam insurance. In the middle of all this, they had an underwriter call wanting us to add or exclude someone in the household who doesn't have a license or even a permit solely because he was 16. Hellooo Maryland law states you cannot edit someone fr on the policy to which you can't insure.
That was a fight too. My God. One damn accident and ** blows up in your face. I got a new policy with a new company and called to cancel my policy with Esurance and they're asking me why and so flat out told them their company is **. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ESURANCE UNLESS YOU WANT NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.

I obtained an auto insurance quote from Esurance.com and subsequently purchased the policy. I paid in full. As soon as Esurance had taken my payment in full, they requested all kinds of proof for their supposed "discounts." They requested proof of previous policy or my rate would go up by $ 300 which was a 40% increase of my current premium. I provided proof of my previous coverage so my policy premium remained the same. The following day (day 1 of my policy being in effect), they reviewed my policy declarations and although I had provided proof of insurance during the last 6 months, they stated that my Bodily Injury Limit was 30k person/60k incident and for this reason, my rating was being downgraded and my policy with Esurance was going from 50k/100k bodily injury to 30k/60k and my policy premium was still going up another $ 205 (which was about 33% higher than the current premium I had).
GEICO provided a cheaper quote without any of the arbitrary rules that Esurance had. To me it seemed as though they were going to find any excuse to spike my premium after the supposed "discounts" they provided. How can they lower your limits and spike your premium? How is my bodily injury limit relevant to my new insurance policy and then a reason to spike my policy premium? To me it seems, they make you jump through hoops and more to provide any supposed discount. They have arbitrary, subjective and beneficial policies to them to spike your premium once you are on the hook.
Upon cancellation of a policy I used 1 day, they take the liberty of charging me a 10% cancellation fee of the total policy premium-not the $ 754 they originally quoted me and priced me, but rather the $ 960, they had spiked the premium to, after I was already on the hook with them. My 1 day policy and stress with Esurance cost me $ 100. To put the cherry on top, they e-mailed me documentation to return a driver sense device for another insured in another state. Just another sign of the disorganization of this company and their true colors. I could have used that money in much better ways. I have policy now through GEICO. Whatever you do, avoid Esurance.

I filed one claim with insurance and they doubled my premium. They tried to justify this saying that it increased because of that one claim, I lost a "no claim discount", and that my state regulations have changed in the past 2 months. So my 6 month premium for one driver on one car went from $500 to $1000. Do not trust them, they are criminals and I should contact the attorney general.

I called a company I was referred to and they negotiated on our behalf. They got the settlement up 3999.00 +tax. I would recommend anyone going through them to call this company. I couldn't believe the difference. He explained they do this all the time and a standard business practice for them. If anyone needs help with their settlement call them at **. Addressing the claim entered on 05/13/2016 located at UPS STORE, in Vista CA, Collision cased on my left rear side of my vehicle. As I was pulling out of the parking space located at UPS postal store, in Vista CA. I was visual and moving slow to make sure, no one or other vehicle was in the direction I was exiting from. In doing so, the lady, was coming across quickly, not realizing I was on the way exiting the parking space. She was wanting to park in the empty parking spot on my left and hit me causing the collision.
When I inquired to her "Didn't you see me", she stated, she did and thought I was going to stop. At that point I requested her insurance information, request her name, took a picture of the collision, called my insurance and gave them all the details of the collision. Due to her reckless negligence and uncaring nature for the Laws and Rules of the Road and The Right Of Way Rules. It has made this experience a difficult one. I've had to drop my vehicle off this Monday 05/16/2016 at Euro Pacific for repair. I've also had to get a rental car from Enterprise on 05/16/2016.
What really saddens me from all this, is that I've received a call today 05/17/2016, from ESURANCE Agent, stating that I'm at fault for this collision, due to me not looking as I backed out. Not only is this incorrect and untrue, because I was looking straight back to my rear, keeping visual and moving slow. I find this statement to be a TORT and a DECEIT, a false representation of material fact existing.
Therefore, correction of this dispute should be made to reflect on Her insurance and not mine. Due to her failure NOT to YIELD, STOP and WAIT. Not allowing a safe distance to prevent collision. Not allowing reaction time to brake or maneuver if necessary. Not driving at a safe speed or control speed. Not allowing the CA RIGHT OF WAY RULE. Failure to use her horn to warn other vehicle exiting. Closing: Safe driving requires personal responsibility at all times. To use sound judgment, reflexes, experience, and common sense every time, you are behind the wheel a vehicle. Another important element of safe driving is COURTESY. BE COURTEOUS AT ALL TIME.

Most drivers rarely need to file an accident claim and can become complacent as to why they should carry insurance. No driver ever wants to be involved in any kind of traffic accident. But accidents do happen and that's when the really good insurance companies shine. Less than 6 months ago I changed auto insurance companies due to rising premiums with my "old" insurer that covered my cars for about 10 years. I went with Esurance, subsidiary of Allstate, for a lower premium, but I think I got a lot more than just a bargain on my premium.
I had driven cars, pick-up trucks, vans in Colorado for about 25 years with no accidents and no insurance claims until this past April. Gratefully, no one was hurt in the collision I had with a bicycle in mid-April. Cops and EMTs arrived in minutes after my call to 911. The bicyclist was standing and getting his bearings when help arrived. He suffered no injuries in the collision but the front and windshield of my car were badly dented and smashed.
About 90 seconds after I called Esurance's 800 #, Claims Adjuster Jerusha ** phoned me and started gathering info. She took on the case with high professionalism and guided me over the next 2 weeks through all aspects of my claim. I can't thank Esurance enough for the adept guide Ms. ** had been through the whole process. She emailed and phoned with new info every couple days, I felt respected, acknowledged, and my questions were thoroughly answered all through the whole procedure.
Kudos also to Gerber Collision & Glass, recommended by Ms. **, for the quick and professional repairs on my car and for fixing the minor leak with my replacement windshield. Esurance had an opportunity to jerk a client around or to step up and honor their contract with me. Hence the good review from an impressed customer. Not all claims filed with Esurance move along as smoothly as was my experience. No one can say for certain how an insurer will respond when investigating a claim. I also want to thank ConsumerAffairs.com for the service comparison reviews and charts that helped me decide when I started shopping auto insurers late last year.

Since I had been hearing this company slogan they are jacking up my premium from $709 to $986, and my recent quote is showing $1408, which is totally crazy. That is the payment for my both cars for 2 months. This guys are robbing us blind giving excuses policy can change based on many factors blah blah blah. Well, that in itself was enough to motivate me to find yet another insurer who wasn't going to jerk me around, which I did. It gets better! When I call Esurance to cancel both policies, I am informed there will be cancellation fees on both policies, to the tune of $70! How coincidental! They're getting their $70 one way or another! No complaints for several years. All of a sudden when she moved from my home, they said she had to get her own policy which I said I would pay for and they took $86.62 from my checking account on 3/25. Mind you they already got $77.67 on 3/15. On 4/18, they took out of my checking account $47.81 for (not sure, still trying to get someone on the phone) and then again, slap me, $37.15 on 4/18. That's a total of $249.05! in 34 days.

If you have heard otherwise from Esurance reviews, I highly doubt it. It is a good insurance company if you dont have to file a claim or need a big job done as a result of an accident or whatnot. As long as you dont file a claim worth 500 dollars you are in the right and ok with them. This insurance company is terrible, I am filing a claim with my state regulators as soon as possible.

The review subject captures the essence of this review. My auto policy was coming up for renewal and I thought it might be time to shop around. I looked at all of the big names: GEICO, State Farm, Esurance, and Progressive. Every time I would fill out my information on one of the online forms to get a quote, I would be amazed at how much I was saving, until I got to the checkout screen. That is when each company runs your self-reported information with records, driving history and a back-end formula to calculate your REAL premium. I had acted premature and cancelled my auto insurance based on the pre-checkout total, so I was committed to choosing a new insurance provider. I chose Esurance because it still seemed I was saving some money, about $35 per month. Not so!
I received my first phone call shortly after registering. The sales rep explained that my premium would increase due to some new information they found about where I garaged my vehicle. Whatever, I thought, as long as I don't have to think about this again for another six months, I'm fine as long as I'm not paying more than my previous insurance. Not so!
Two days ago, I got an email from the underwriter explaining that I would need to provide documentation that my roommates have auto insurance, otherwise I would have to exclude them. Lucky for Esurance, exclusion means another chance to raise my premium. Now my premium is even more than what it was, and the coverage isn't really better. The cronies at the insurance company have once again found a way to nickel and dime customers based on "assessing risk" and reducing their liabilities. They don't care about gouging you for pennies or the fact that increasing your premium affects/strains your budget, despite it barely making a dent in their revenues. All they care about is getting everything they can from you.
Furthermore, Esurance has no customer service to speak of. When I talked to the underwriter on the phone, all he could do was speak about how my premium would increase if I didn't send over the information they needed. I had to press him to tell me how I would do that. Even then, he forgot to tell me about the forms I would need and I had to send an email over. See, they don't have the customer in mind. They're not there to walk you through things or help you in any way. I wouldn't be surprised if in a month they tell me I signed up for paper statements (add $25 per month) or they increased their installment cost (add $5 per month). What a sham.
On top of all that, Esurance really just isn't value for your money. My previous insurer was a local agent that filed all of the paperwork for me, dealt with the insurance company, got me a deal on renter's insurance and had a very pleasant personality to boot. Woe is me! I made a huge mistake not only leaving them, but leaving them for an impersonal money gouging machine.
To anyone looking at insurance - seriously, look for local agents. It may seem like you're paying more upfront, but don't be fooled. When they give you your costs, they usually give it to you straight up and don't throw any surprise punches. I've been hit by a few from Esurance already and now have to worry about the next one knocking me down.

Raised our per mileage rates 4 times in 6 months nearly doubling them and now raised our monthly premium over 30%, and will not apply our credit balance to our 6 month renewal. There's nothing that others can't see even if I was hacked. Spent over an hour on phone with 4 different people known of whom could answer my questions. I demanded they call me with the answers to my emails. They called and let phone ring TWICE! By the time I answered they had hung up.
Just got an email saying they tried to reach me. BS! So I called back and was switched to a licensed agent, Ryan. He had no idea what my concerns were and I said, "You mean I have to start all over?" I had been a customer with Esurance since 2008. I never had much contact with them as I made my payments every 6 months and never had an accident or any issues. Last November, during a blizzard, a snow plow knocked a streetlight into the street. Because the street light was not moving anymore it was my fault that I hit it. Even though I tried to swerve to miss it I couldn't in the snowy and icy conditions. They were not interested in contacting the city or the police department even though I filed a report. I spoke to several different representatives there during the claim process and each one was from a different location and couldn't even pronounce my name correctly.
They were efficient in getting me the options for the auto body shops and they did send them payment in a timely manner, but they also sent one of the payment checks to an old address of mine. Maybe if they had the same person working on the claim they could have managed to get both checks sent to the same place, maybe. I recently got my renewal notice and they raised my rates 100%!! I expected it to go up, but that much is just ridiculous. I am happy to go elsewhere and pay a little more knowing that I now have a dedicated representative that will answer any questions I have. And she is really nice and actually cares and knows her customers. So if you are looking for cheap, sure go with Esurance, but if you want at least somewhat decent customer service, keep shopping around! I gave them a 3 on value and coverage because originally they were pretty good.
