American Home Shield Reviews

American Home Shield was excellent these last few times. The only thing that I have problems with them is when it's something where they're going to have to replace something, like my dishwasher. I've had them out twice for the dishwasher, and they keep saying we're using too much soap, or this and that. That dishwasher needs to be replaced. I think they have a problem when they have to replace stuff. But the people that they send out for my garage doors have been excellent. And the people that they sent out for plumbing is excellent. With replacing items, it seems like that they'll try to find any way not to do it before they have to replace it. Otherwise, everything is fine.

I was a subscriber to AHS for services, I had an issue with the air conditioner and duct work in my home. The customer service reps were rude each time I had to call to inform them that their service technician did not show up for the scheduled job, when the techs did show they always made excuses to leave and not return. I and my husband had to take off work many many days because they scheduled the time available to come out convenient to them. When they did not show up, I would lose unpaid time from work and eventually my job. Therefore, because of their negligence, slothfulness and careless actions I lost my job and my home and I talked to several upper management individuals with AHS and none did anything about it. They were as rude as their workers.

As soon as I contact American Home Shield, they get on the ball to get a contractor in line to come and take care of whatever our problem is.

When we had American Home Shield a couple of years ago, it was a nightmare. They covered nothing that was wrong. Nothing. On the positive side, they have changed a lot of their coverage, and so we have been with them for just a little over a year. We just renewed for our second year, and I've called them once and I've been satisfied. They are covering more things than they used to cover. My last experience was very good. They came really quick. The people they sent out were really great, and they fixed my troubles. I’m still a little leery. I’m just gonna have to wait and see.

I've been with American Home Shield for a long time. I find them to be very good and dependable. When I have a problem, I would call and if I call today they would come out tomorrow. They're good with their response. They would do the work and I'm satisfied. They're very nice and cooperative. They don't give you any hassle and know what to do and always honest. It really saves you a lot of money out of the pocket.

We've had American Home Shield for about 6 or 7 years. We had coverage for the appliances before but we took it off because we replaced all of them. We still have the HVAC and the plumbing and such on there. This last call we had we woke up one morning and we didn't have any heat. We have my wife’s 94 year old grandmother living with us, and she just got out of the hospital. They subcontract. So when Greenway called, I asked if they could possibly put us at the top of the list. And about a couple of hours later, they come out and fixed it.

When I purchased my house I got it with American Home Shield and that was in 2001 and I've had them ever since. It gives you peace of mind that if something big breaks, it gets replaced. They'll fix things and make them work again and if they cannot make them work again, they'll get another one and put it in there. Big things like the air conditioner, the washer and dryer, water heater... anything big that breaks including the garbage disposal. I had the garbage disposal replaced and outside air conditioning unit - outside unit replaced. So I'm happy. I don't mind paying the yearly amount.

American Home Shield is worth the money. It's been great. I haven't had any problems at all. I would recommend.

My experience with American Home Shield can be summarized as a fast response and a quick repair.

I was doing some online shopping and American Home Shield came up. I liked the rates and the ease of the website that I was on. That's probably why I chose them over others, because the website was very user-friendly. I signed up with them less than 3 months ago. I've only had one call-in for a service, and it was real good. They were very easy to work with. Most of it I could do online. I really didn't have to call and talk to anybody. It was easy getting the information I needed.

We first heard about home maintenance contracts when we bought a home over in New Port Richey. And when we purchased a home, they included a one year contract on that house that was 30 years old. We own a home here in Vero Beach which was fairly new and as the warranties were wearing out after the first five years. We looked into getting one here. The company we had before, that we had over there, didn't cover this territory. So somehow we got American Home Shield.

My overall experience with American Home Shield was good service and prompt response. In one word, great.

I've been with American Home Shield maybe about two to four years. It was referred by a friend. Some of the people that they sent out might not be the best, but they're fine. Overall my experience has been professional, helpful - a good choice.

American Home Shield has been very, very good. The service is very good. Every problem that I reported, they show on time. It's wonderful. I recommend it big time. It's been so good so far.

Someone that I know told me about American Home Shield. So, I got on the Internet and I contacted them. And I've used them about 5 or 6 times, but the last 2 times was no good. I was very disappointed. This last time, the guy came to fix the shower. It was dripping. And so, after being there for about 20 minutes, he came out and he said that it was okay. And then he left. He says “I don't need to change the shower head or do anything.” So, I just threw $75 down the drain, because it still works.

It took too long (almost 10 minutes) to actually speak with a person. That person, Mariah, couldn't care less about problem or response time. When the vendor showed up the next day late they decided they couldn't do the job. Then Mariah said it wasn't covered according to the vendor. She didn't bother to look at the contract. Lazy and uncaring describes their service and their vendors. Do yourself a favor and choose any other Home Warranty Service but AHS.

When I first purchased my home, they already had a home warranty because of the age of the home, and I continued it. I switched to American Home Shield because the home warranty protection that they had on the home required initial payment of 50% down and 50% within a given period of time. American Home Shield warranty allowed me to pay per month, and that was better for me.

I am at my wits end dealing with the customer service department at AHS. I have been experiencing water issues at my home and it remains unresolved. AHS has sent two different plumbers to the house, both of which have stated that the water heater needs to be replaced. Here is where the problem begins.

American Home Shield is helpful for repairing items.

I found American Home Shield on the internet. Then I investigated several others, and I found that they offered the best services for the cost. I've been with them for 3, maybe 4 years. They've been good. I've had one bad incident with them recently. My refrigerator went out. I pay by deductible and I upgraded on the refrigerator. The first time the refrigerator was delivered, it was damaged. So, they took the original refrigerator that I purchased when I had my home built and they also took back the one that they sent to me.

I had American Home Shield when I bought the house about 19 years. It came with the remaining of the warranty that was already in place. What I did, was when that expired, I did try something else, and I came right back. Compared to the other company I did try momentarily, better customer service, better pricing for better coverage. So just all around just a lot better. And when I have had to call in a work order, they are pretty prompt.

I purchased a plan from American Home Shield that has total coverage for everything. Their team has been very courteous. I referred AHS to my daughter. But I have a slight problem. Up until recently, all the vendors that AHS sent out I've had nothing but praises for them, but this last vendor just didn't communicate enough for me. Other than that, I've had a good experience. I would recommend them to my son-in-law. I've been very happy with the service. When my washing machine broke down and they couldn't fix it, they replaced it and I really, really appreciate that.

I've had American Home Shield for about four years. I have no complaints. I've heard about it from a relative. I've placed claims with them. They are always courteous and knowledgeable and quick to respond. They are very efficient, professional, and great in personal skills with the handling of my complaint.

American Home Shield people are very good. I have no problem with them at all. They're great. I’m really satisfied with them. The people I've dealt with have been very patient, very polite, and they know what they're doing.

I have no problems with American Home Shield. When I do call for service, they do come out. They give me the name of somebody, and they do come out. The only problem I had was one time where I have a soft water system for my house, and they said they cover water softener. It's a water softening system. And when the guy came out, he couldn't fix it. But I still got charged $100 for the service charge. But otherwise, I haven't really got a problem with them. They come out, they do the work, and I'm quite satisfied. I have recommended them to people.

It's been two years ago since I signed up with AHS. It's been good because usually when I call them, they get in contact with me the same day. I'm very pleased with the services I received from them and the customer service reps are always very courteous.

Overall, American Home Shield is efficient, it’s good, but it’s gotten very expensive over the last couple of years. We've been a client for a long time. The prices have just gone way sky high for the same services and the money you pay for service call has increased significantly too.

Had a ceiling fan that needed to be replaced or fixed. They told me to go get a price on it since the co. couldn't seem to get the part, that was in June 2013. December I called to cancel the service. After billing me two more months I called to dispute it on my credit card. They turned me over to a collection agency for 449.00 dollars.

American Home Shield is excellent. The man did do a good job. The man did a really good job with my particular problem. I've had two or three experiences with American Home Shield and I've been very satisfied.

Everything has been repaired as necessary by AHS. There are steps taken so as not to have to replace something, so we might be over-fixing things, but that's okay. As long as it works.

We have had a garbage disposal that is not working. We called and had repaired in December. It worked for a few days before acting up again. In January, AHS sends the same company to come back and repair again. Ten days later, we have flooding under the sink that has now spread under the wooden stairwell and a carpeted room. We asked AHS to send out a new plumbing company. This company says the problem was a leak from the damn garbage disposal and that it actually requires replacing.

American Home Shield has been wonderful. It has really helped me out along the way. They've been great. It’s been wonderful because I can really remote manage the property at times. If I’m out of town or away, I can always just call American Home Shield and schedule an appointment and have somebody come. I hope to be with them as long as I have the property and I’d recommend it to anybody looking for a home warranty.

AHS usually is really good. As soon as you put in the request, they get back with you very quickly and they usually get within one to two days of the time that you call them. They're usually out working on whatever it is.

My son has American Home Shield and he's happy with them, so I signed up too. As far as when I had to use them, they were great. They sent the company out as soon as possible and the workers were good at their job. The companies they deal with are good, so I'm very pleased with it. I will continue using them, and if I ever get another house, I will do the same thing.

I've had American Home Shield for many, many years. And since I've had them, I've been very satisfied with what they do. Overall, they have been very helpful, courteous, responsive and effective. In terms of prompt service, American Home Shield has been notifying me. The vendors have not been as responsive as I would like.

I have had several appliances in need of repair. I am a single mom who is short on time and extra funds for such repairs. Each time I have had ended up having to make my own arrangements and pay for it because the vendors used by AHS are not local and in some instances were going to take up to THREE WEEKS to come and repair my appliances. Can you imagine a single mom going for weeks without a washer or dishwasher? Have decided that putting that $50 a month into savings will be a better bet.

I had to place two calls to American Home Shield for service and they’re both plumbing issues and they got resolved with no hitch. They are dependable. I would recommend them to friends.

We have one of the brochures that American Home Shield sent out or emailed. They were the ones that were available to me so we went with them. They've been an excellent company to work with. They were very cooperative whenever I called them and there was basically no static about trying to get out of making a payment. And the people that they did send were very cooperative and very informative. They are overall a lot better than ARS.

I've been with American Home Shield for four years. They’re prompt in responding to your service request. Most of the time, the contractors they send are okay. I've had a few bad experiences with them where a contractor came and said there was nothing wrong with your unit and left. And nonetheless, I had to pay the $75 visit. But for the most part, they’re better than the other one I had - American Home Warranty. There’s only two of them really. So they've got the corner on the market. You don’t have a lot of choice.

I bought a house and they had American Home Shield warranty on it. They transferred the remaining part of the warranty to me and then I continued it after that. The coverage I had was for the appliances and systems. They have absolutely been courteous and were able to answer my questions. They were very good.

American Home Shield took too long and didn't meet my expectations. It took six weeks or more to get my stove in. I don't think it should have taken that long.

I've had AHS a couple of times. I had it out in my house in North Carolina. And then when I bought the house here, it was just something that just got wrapped up into the deal somehow. I've been happy with AHS. In North Carolina happy with them. Here in South Carolina, I've had some problems and I cancelled it for a little while, but then I ended up going back to them because the company I went with after them was even worse.

I'm a real estate broker so I'm familiar with AHS products. Their reps are courteous but very slow in getting service done.

American Home Shield is pretty responsive. They do have some restrictive requirements that have affected me. As far as coverage, they got some very narrow-thinking coverage. For instance, on the HVAC, if I pay my premium and I got a problem - let's say the thermostat goes not straight to the system but on the circuitry board, then that's just how they put it together. They restricted me because of that so I was out of a lot of money just to repair that because it wasn't under my coverage. So that left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact, that's why I haven't renewed yet. I'm shopping around.

For the most part, American Home Shield has been good.

I had a different warranty provider, and as everybody is getting into certain tight quarters and times and money spending, they didn't accept monthly payments. So I went online to search out someone who did, and I found American Home Shield. I've been with them a little over a year. My experience talking to the representative was awesome. It was very good. But the service part was way too long...

I was a realtor for 26 years and I used American Home Shield for a lot of my clients. And before them I was with Alliance Home Warranty and their rates just kept going up and up and up and up and up. So that’s when I got some literature from American Home Shield and I decided to switch to them. Once I can get through to a human, American Home Shield is all right. But trying to use their computer system and every time you put in what problem you have with your house, it comes back with a totally different thing than it is. So I just keep waiting and waiting and pushing buttons until I can get to a human and talk.

My experience with American Home Shield has been great. When I bought the house, they were the insurance that the previous owner left and I decided to renew it a couple of years later because they were very efficient when I called them. I wanted to get all my appliances insured. I had them for a year and then two years now. I renewed in August of last year. I always place my orders through a representative. I find the website not user friendly, but the representatives are very good and the contractors for the most part have been excellent. And a couple of weeks ago, I even had to replace my heater and it went pretty well.

I have a problem about my central air system and they sent somebody and checked. After that nobody call us, no report and of course they did not solve our problem. We call to their customer service dept and she said WE DID NOT FOLLOW UP in 60 days, so we have to pay another time for inspecting. She also reject to transfer the line to her manager or find somebody can help. This is the first time to write a bad review! I Do Not recommend this service to anybody!!

Friends of my wife recommended American Home Shield so we thought we'd give it a try. We've been with them for three or four months and it's been a very good experience so far. In fact, we just put a claim in the middle of September or first of October as we had a problem with our water softener and they took care of it for us. I would highly recommend AHS the way they do business.

It’s unfair that American Home Shield make customers continue to pay for the same thing on an appliance over and over again. I had an experience with my dryer where the exact same thing went out three times in nine months. That was $25 a month. I could have bought a new dryer for that. They should've replaced my dryer, or at least sent out a company that knew what they were doing to begin with. By the time the third vendor came out, I stood there and watched him and he’s like, “Oh, this was the problem all along. You had a short. And these two were not making a connection, and so what happened was they were coming apart and that’s why it wasn’t working.” Yet the other two people didn’t know that so it kept coming apart, which is why it wasn’t working. When I tried to tell them that to get a refund on the other because you pay $75 for a trade call, they said, “Well, too bad.” And I said, “Well, that’s not good customer service if this third guy says this is what was causing it. It wasn’t the other things.”

I got their plan which covers appliances and all that stuff, the whole deal, and it's been good thus far... For the most part I like their vendors but I would not recommend Sears under any circumstances. They can do better than Sears. Had a recent experience with Hers and His Plumbing (our hot water heater had a problem). I put in my service request one evening and they came out very, very promptly and did a great job!

We have a new neighbor who we've become friends with, and they had just mentioned to us they were having some home repair issue going on. They told us that they had American Home Shield and how satisfied they were with the services that they'd received. I spoke with a good friend of ours who is a realtor, a Coldwell Banker agent and asked if she had ever heard of the home warranty through American Home Shield, and she said "Absolutely, I have. I highly recommend it to my buyers and my sellers." We're not in the market for a new home or anything, but I said "Is it something that a homeowner can just purchase?" And she said "Absolutely." So, I got on the Internet, on their website, and read some of the reviews, and the basics of their policy, and it was something that we thought we would be interested in. We're really glad that we took advantage of it at this time.

We had a property manager in Colorado that recommended American Home Shield and that's how we started with them. It's been about five years between our three or four houses that we have together. I haven't had a problem with American Home Shield. Every time I call, they're great about getting everything fixed. The only problem I have is I live in Nevada and some of the vendors here are not very good. I've complained to American Home Shield and they've done real well trying to find me a different vendor. I had a hot water tank that went out a year ago and it took a week before the vendor put it in. That's a long time for a hot water tank. I know they go with the cheapest that they can find too and I can understand that, but it's the vendors that is my big issue. They're very easy to work with and when you call, the representatives are great to work with.

We've had a good experience with American Home Shield. They were very helpful, very polite, very professional and we got serviced as soon as possible.

We got American Home Shield when we first bought the house 15 years ago. And then we dropped it and realized that we were stupid. We need to keep it. So we went back. We have the plan that covered our appliances, systems and the swimming pool. It’s just we have too much going on here to not have that sense of security. And even if we go years not using it and just use it one time, it pays for itself. We found that out because they have taken good care of us. My experiences with American Homes Shield have been very good in every possible way, just top of the line.

We've been with American Home Shield for many years and have the full coverage. There's not a lot of flexibility. We had our heat system go down twice on the coldest days in Charlotte. And the problem is they can take up to 24-36 hours. The way they do that is, there's nobody on-call for emergencies during regular business hours, which could be doable if you didn't have to wait the extra day they give the contractor to get back to you. So by the time you call it in, it really could be a 2-day process instead of a 1-day process. And on the weekend, it turns into a 3-day process because nobody comes out on the weekend. On the minor things, it's great. On the major things, like a heating system in your house that you need, it's a negative. I'm sure the reason they do that is to cut cost, but if people have a problem and the heating system on their main floor is out, it should be addressed within 24 hours. They're very good for the average, common things that go wrong in a house.

American Home Shield themselves are quick to respond and everything's been taken care of satisfactorily, with the exception of one. We had one problem with our washer and the person couldn't fix it. I don't really think he tried, and he cleaned up the floor with my towels! Then he would just not call. So I went months without a washer because he would not follow-up... he'd say he ordered a part. Finally, we got a different repair person out who fixed it the first time!

I've been with American Home Shield for about two years. I've used them a couple of times and they had somebody come right out and take care of the problem. It's been a positive experience and a good deal.

My interactions with them have been good. They have good customer service. I've gotten very good coverage with them. Any time I've had an issue, it's been taken care of.

Some friends told me about American Home Shield and it sounded like a good idea. I've had them for not quite a year yet. It's been very, very pleasant, very easy and very good. I would recommend them to other people because they're so good and so easy to use. It's user-friendly.

I've had them now probably going on 15 years. My experience with them has been average. Every time I file a claim, I have to fight. They do not employ local plumbers or local electricians or local air conditioning people. I've had some pretty bad experiences with the people that they send out but there were instances that I get well qualified repairman who actually does things right. I've also talked to some of the repairmen that have worked for them that will not ever work for them again because they said it's low pay and they don't pay enough.

I've not had any bad experience with American Home Shield. It's reassuring to know we've got the coverage. The one thing that I'm not happy with is the same HVAC company that comes out to do the checking of the furnace. Once, it was because air-conditioning wasn't working, and they told me that I didn't have enough Freon. And then my heat wasn't working, and they told me I had too much Freon. That's something I have to pay for, this Freon. So, I wasn't happy with that, because it's the same company that put a lot in and the same company told me I had too much and they had to take some out, so my heat could work. It doesn't make sense. Other than that, it's been a good experience with everybody I've dealt with.

I've only had a couple of experiences with using American Home Shield and most of the time it's pretty good. I just used them not too long ago, and they wouldn't repair something. They said it was installed improperly, but it wasn't anything that I had installed. So I was a little upset, almost angry with that. I wasn't very pleased at all.

I've had some issues and American Home Shield has taken care of them. They do as promised, I would recommend.

It's been a long time that I've been dealing with AHS -- 10 to 15 years. I have updated it so many times since that time. My plan covers almost everything -- appliances and all that other good stuff that they had, because recently they had an offer and I upgraded to that. I like the people that AHS sent to me because I'm not electronically knowledgeable. They didn't talk over my head. They simplified it so I understood what they did and what we need to do. They would also check and say, "okay, if you do this, you'll be energy-saving more." They are awesome.

We decided to go with American Home Shield through our home mortgage. City mortgage sent us their information and it sounded good. We had some problems with the air-conditioner, and they sent someone out. He corrected that and then we had some additional, we've had somebody maybe two or three times on the air-conditioner. But they were different problems with it, and that was corrected. We've had someone out for the washer, and that was corrected. We've had very good success with them, with the whole process. I'd recommend them.

It was offered when we bought the house. The seller provided the first year. We had AHS during the first year to work on the washer, the dishwasher, and the service was good and it only cost us a few bucks... We did drop them for about a year or two and then thought about it, looked at the price and what they covered, and realized we probably need some protection so we went back to them.

I got American Home Shield through word of mouth. I've got two different policies. One is in a rental property and one is in my primary residence. They're very good. I had to call in one claim and it went perfectly. I'm very satisfied. I would recommend to other people.

I'm fairly a new customer of American Home Shield and so far they've been great for me right now. I had problems with my ice maker, and they came out and it was repaired. I'm satisfied and haven't had any complaints with them.

We have not had any problems with American Home Shield. They were helpful and timely. We have two different policies with them, one on our own personal home and one for another property. We found them to be responsive in a timely manner and repaired what needed to be repaired, so we're happy with them.

The young man that came out to fix my disposal was very professional and I would recommend American Home Shield to anyone. I've had it for quite a while and I've never had a problem with it. I've been with American Home Shield for about 4 or 5 years. The experience has been fine. When I needed service, I've called and gotten the service and it's been quite accessible and reasonable. My first issue was a garage door problem and that worked out well. So I generally got somebody competent here fairly promptly.

I've been with American Home Shield for two months. It's been great. I had 2 problems with the house so far. Both times, went online, filled out what the problem was, and they contacted me within 24 hours, set up a time to come out. And both times it was fixed by the contractor, $75 each time, and the 30-day guarantee on each thing that was fixed. If something happens again within 30 days, they come back out and fix it, and no charge.

I've had American Home Shield for a very long time now. I had it when I bought my first house. It's been good that's why I had to continue to have it. They've been really helpful. They're exceptional because they're quick and prompt and they do what they said they will do. But I don't like their website... I tried to put in a claim online and if I wouldn't be able to do that I had to end up calling.

We heard American Home Shield from our neighbors, who had been subscribers of it for many years, and they seemed to be extremely pleased. So we figured we'd give it a try. We've been with them for 6 months and so far so good. We had a problem with our heat pump, and they came and fixed it. It's been working just fine. They did a good job because it's working, and they were very professional. They called and told us when they'd be here, and they arrived when they said they'd be here. They even had the piece or part with them when they got here. They were being proactive. So it was fine.

AHS was part of the package when we bought our first house. It made sense with an old home with a lot of older appliances. They're going to break down so it was a good idea at that time and still is. We've had it for a year. I broke away from them for a while and I came back. They are pretty good but you got to watch them. Most of them have switched around or are trying to do as little as possible to maintain what they say they will do. Their warranty or guarantee is to fix it and if they can't then they'll replace it. So they're going to do everything they possibly can to fix it and not replace it because it's much more expensive.

When we first purchased our home, some acquaintances were happy with their American Shield and we decided to check them out and sign up. We've been customers for almost 7 years. Luckily we haven't had to call them very often but we've been very impressed with the sorts of repair people that have been sent here to fix the items we requested. Once you get used to the automated system, the reply time or turnaround time is excellent and everything was very clear and no headaches for us. Our experience has been great and the folks coming here from different fix-it places to do their job have been just wonderful... clean, presentable and ready to work. It's just great.

We were buying an older home and my realtor suggested that I would be better served to have American Home Shield home warranty. I called and set it up and it's been an outstanding experience. It's been mostly heating/cooling issues probably 3 or 4 times and it's been great every time. They're very prompt. I have recommended American Home Shield to people.

I'm really impressed with American Home Shield. The service is amazing and mostly the companies that they've sent in to do service here were all rated really high in this area on Angie's List and different consumer boards. So we were very surprised that they had had that level of people with our contract. We've been with them for a year and it’s been wonderful. We don't have nothing negative to say about them at all. I don't know if people have poor experiences but we've been so impressed. We've worked with other companies in the past and what a nightmare but this has been nothing but a fantastic experience!

I have 3 friends who have American Home Shield and I got a plan from them too. The last service call I had was alright. The first one was terrible but it wasn't the Home Shield's fault. It was the plumber that ripped us off. I haven't had enough experience with them.

I've had good experience with American Home Shield. I get good results and I'm very satisfied with them. Even at a time when they came out to a job and it was just ridiculous because he was in and out in a moment, and it was just due to my ignorance in not checking it out for myself. But other than that, they're here, they do their job well and they're gone.

I've had AHS for years now - from 2005 or 2006. I saw information from them in the mail and I decided that it was a good plan. I had heard other people talk about, not specifically American Home Shield, warranty and stuff and I called them. I like them. I love the policy. I love being able to have something break down and I contact them and within hours you're able to get in touch with the provider who's going to do the work. They may not do the work that same day but you're able to get in touch with somebody if it's not a weekend. That's pretty quick. The only thing is there are other people with policies a little bit cheaper than AHS.

I went ahead and got American Home Shield home warranty service because it would help me get things fixed if I had problems. But it seems like every time that I refinance my house, they would fail to let me know and I would be without warranty. The last time I did it, AHS called and said that they hadn't received payment, and I had been putting the payment in with the payment to my home mortgage and I didn't understand that, so I let it be and I started putting the same amount of money in advance in another account to take care of it. When they told me that I could pay it directly and not go through my Wells Fargo, I called them and I re-entered an agreement with them to do it and mail it directly to them because I didn't want it to be interrupted anymore, and that's the way I got back into it. I'm with AHS for several years and everything's been going okay. I would definitely refer them.

I saw some kind of publicity about AHS, and I've had it a few years now. They've been fine. They've all been pleasant and very helpful. I've referred AHS to my friends.

One of my friends told me about AHS. I've been with them for almost a year. I've called in for service multiple times and they're doing a great job. But they're not for everybody to have one.

Sometimes I'm not really happy with AHS. I've been with them for a long time and some of the things that they do as opposed to replacing, as opposed to repairing, doesn't make much sense because you can't keep repairing something that's old and outdated. Broken stuff also needs to be replaced.

So far, my experience with American Home Shield has been fine. I've had them for a couple of years. When I call, they have been courteous and helpful and they do get things taken cared of, so I've had no problems with them. It works. That's the beauty of it. If you have to call somebody, they come out, they take care of it. A couple of times, I had a problem because they said I'm not covered and then they said "Well, you got a new policy" but it all got taken cared of.

My sister has American Home Shield so I also got them. My experience with them has been pretty good.

I'm happy with American Home Shield. I haven't had any complaints. They responded when I called, and I haven't had any problems.

I don't know if any of the home warranty providers is worth a damn. American Home Shield kept sending me emails. I could have sure as hell saved my money than paid for everything that I ever had done. I've been debating on whether I'm going to cancel it or not.

My sister and her husband had American Home Shield, and they were telling me because I was having a lot of trouble with my plumbing and things. So, they say "Well, you know if you get American Home Shield, they'll come out, and check and see what's going on. You pay the fee, and if they can fix it, they fix it. And if there's anything more, they let you know". So, I went on and invested in it. I've had them for 5 years. I never had a problem with them. If I call them or did it online, they always return my call or we talked. They send me emails saying who they set me up with and they've always been very polite, so I appreciate that. I have recommended them to friends already.

I was a broker in charge in a real estate company for years, and my company used American Home Shield. I have two homes with them, and one of them is about 9 months and one of them about 2 or 3 months. Generally, it's been a very good experience. They've been very good to deal with. It was efficient and economical.

Whenever I called American Home Shield, the only thing I don't like is it takes a long long time to get somebody but when you do, they're friendly and helpful. They go ahead and set up your appointment and the people that they have sent to work on my furnace were nice people who worked with me. They fixed it and something went out and they came back and fixed it again. That meant a lot to me and I didn't get a lot of hassle. They said we'll send somebody right back out. I like that.

I chose American Home Shield because their price was reasonable. They were easy to contact. When I needed somebody to come out, they'll get in contact with me and they'll tell me they will contact me within 24 to 48 hours which they did. They're very excellent. I had two things that went wrong. I had an electrician and the plumbing. The first time I called them in October, they came out, found the problem and fixed it. Then the second time I called was within 2 months. Same company, same plumber...

American Home Shield has been fine. We've had them for 3 or 4 years now. We just had to have our garage door opener replaced. I didn't think they would, but they did. So, I had to eat my words on that one. I think insurance companies always have these little fine prints, but we haven't found that so far. They have come out and I've had a dryer worked on and a washer.

When I first bought my home, the real estate agent that I was dealing with told me about American Home Shield and they were good. I would recommend.

American Home Shield has been wonderful up to this point. I purchased a plan with a good amount of coverage for my appliances - my stove, refrigerator, microwave, electrical, plumbing, the heater. Everything is great. Right before winter got here, we had a problem with our heater and they came out the next day and it's been working fine ever since.

We had a couple of experiences with a previous home warranty provider and we didn't like it. My in-laws used American Home Shield for their home and when we bought a new home we got them. It's been a year and a half. The only call-in we've had was a blower motor for the heater. It was on a day when the temperature was around the 20s and they were here in the morning. They have great communication.

I like the American Home Shield service so far. This is the second time that we submitted a claim, as my wife is having a problem with the oven. I love it and I have no problems with it. They were very helpful from the point of pre-service. From the very first time when I first talked to the lady and she signed me up, she tried to get me set up on pre-maintenance so if anything goes wrong, I just pay this. They were very helpful from day 1. AHS was very good.

My son and his wife had used American Home Shield for several years and they recommended it. All my appliances are covered. They were always very prompt and I've not had any problem at all with them. They're very good and extraordinarily efficient.

I purchased a plan that covers most from American Home Shield. I've had no problem with dealing with their reps or the people they sent to repair. It has all been very satisfactory.

American Home Shield has been okay. I have steam heat and they advertised that they'll replace furnaces and everything that won't work. I needed a new furnace last year and they gave me $1,500 towards it. But then they only gave me $1,375 towards the new furnace. After I went back and reread it, it says if you have steam heat that's what they'll allow you. The guys that they sent for the furnace were excellent and I used them a couple of years ago for electric and they were also very good. The plumber would repair things and I would have to call him back to come and fix it again within that 60 or 30-day period but apart from that I've been satisfied with the people.

I got an ad in the mail from American Home Shield and I just thought I needed some coverage for my home. Some of the vendors that they use are good. The last experience I had was really good, it's just that the price keeps going up and the fee is an issue for me.

American Home Shield is very competent and they seem to help you a lot with the problem that you're having. They're immediate and quick.

American Home Shield is helpful to have.

We talked with a few different AHS customer service reps over the course of a few days. It resulted in some mixed messages. However, once my husband talked with a specific rep (I regret that I don't have her name), things were taken care of from there. She said that we should call her directly regarding our case. That was very helpful, because she was aware of our situation and we didn't have to explain ourselves repeatedly to different people. We ended up upgrading to a new high-efficiency furnace, and AHS paid a little more than 1/3 of the cost. We were also able to use the contractor of our choosing. We were satisfied with that resolution.

My father is the franchise president of Livingston Coldwell Banker office and he uses American Home Shield all the time so I got them. They're very good, very professional and very knowledgeable. We only had to call on them 1 time but we got feedback in 12 hours of putting in the initial request which was great and they were able to have our issue resolved within 24 hours. The timeliness was impressive. We didn't expect to hear back so quickly and have everything fixed so we're very happy with our first experience. It's as good as it gets.

My mother and brother had American Home Shield so I also purchased a plan from them. AHS has been great so far. AHS team helped me when I had a problem with my air conditioning unit, with my refrigerator dying, with my oven getting messed up. AHS has great overall value and I have recommended it to other friends who were having problems at home.

I've been on American Home Shield for about 2 years. One of my neighbors had it, and she suggested that I get on there because she had a lot of home stuff to replace. And our homes were built about the same time, and that time, we hadn't had very many things go wrong and we still haven't. It's been good and I have recommended them to friends.

I've only had to use American Home Shield twice, with my air conditioner and my garage door. Both times they were incredibly efficient in finding a service provider in my area. They kept me informed on how long it would take for that service provider to contact me and when I should expect it. They may have even followed up to make sure the service provider showed up but I couldn't be more pleased with the way American Home Shield found these providers and also, I was very impressed with the providers themselves, with the services that they performed. They were efficient and professional.

The folks at American Home Shield headquarters are courteous, but I can't say that much for the people they send out. Ours is a house plan for a single family dwelling. Recently, we've had two different plumbers out to unplug our line from our kitchen. The first time, it didn't work. They didn't do anything and never would come back. The second plumber came out and said it was fixed. That was about a week ago and now it doesn't work again. And so, we're back having to call again about the same thing and we're getting a bit tired. They take our requests in a timely manner and we don't often hear back within the time frame we're supposed to hear back from the vendors. What we find is when the vendors come out, they want to sell us something besides doing the work, and we don't like to be hustled every time a repair person shows up. We want our problem fixed and not telling us that the whole plumbing system has to be replaced.

When we put a call in to American Home Shield, they tell us who will do the service call. That person will call us and make an appointment... and so far everything has worked out really great for us. Our experience with them has been very good!!! We never had a problem at all.

American Home Shield was a part of a home warranty when I bought a condo. The plan covers all the appliances and electrics. I'm not sure what all else, but heating and air. I did have one negative experience. I had called in and changed my credit card number. For some reason, something happened. It didn't get changed or the wrong number got put in and I ended up getting a letter from collections saying that I owed $400. That really made me mad because nobody picked up the phone and called me and said they were having a problem with my credit card.

My experience with American Home Shield has been very satisfactory.

Overall I'd recommend American Home Shield for what they provide and for the service. Their customer service sometimes leaves me skeptical. It's interesting. Right now I've got a little problem with them because I signed up early. I agreed to renew early and was supposed to get a $75 gift card to use in my next event, and they still haven't sent it to me. They keep claiming they had sent it to me and I've not got it yet and it's driving me crazy because they said it comes like a credit card envelope but it still hasn't shown up. So I'm waiting for that.

They're very responsive but some of their contractors are not up to par.
