About U-Pack

U-Pack is a flexible moving company specializing in long-distance moves across North America. It’s an economical option for moving 150 miles or more, but the company doesn’t offer local moving services. The company has two types of equipment and completes most moves in four to six business days. Storage is available at U-Pack’s secure service centers.

Since U-Pack customers pack and load their goods themselves, the company is classed as a freight forwarder rather than as a motor carrier or household goods carrier with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT).

What services does U-Pack offer?

U-Pack offers budget-friendly storage containers, trailers and professional drivers for moves of at least 150 miles. It specializes in military moves, cross-country trips, job relocation, senior moves, student moves and any interstate move farther than 150 miles.

U-Pack’s equipment options include trailers for larger homes and ReloCubes, which are single-size containers that can fit approximately one room of furniture and boxes. With either option, U-Pack gives you three days to pack your things and three days to unload — it doesn’t offer loading, unloading or packing services.

U-Pack also offers storage at its secure service centers if you need time before retrieving your belongings.

How does U-Pack work?

Here’s the process of moving with U-Pack:

  1. When you rent a trailer or ReloCube, U-Pack delivers the container or trailer and gives you up to three business days to load.
  2. Once your shipment is ready to go, U-Pack picks it up and drives it to your long-distance destination or to a storage facility.
  3. The shipment may be delivered within a broad delivery window, or you can select Guaranteed Delivery so you know the exact date your shipment will be delivered — and even the one- or two-hour delivery window.
  4. Delivery may be door-to-door, or if parking is limited at one of your addresses, the shipment can be loaded or unloaded at a local U-Pack service center. This option can reduce costs by up to $300.

How much does U-Pack cost?

U-Pack charges for the use of a trailer or a ReloCube, as well as transport and storage. Its prices are based on the amount of space you need, the distance and date of your move, and the length of storage. Notably, with the trailer option, you only pay for the linear feet your items occupy, rather than the full trailer.

U-Pack’s website offers free instant quotes (you can also call an agent to work out details) and booking. This is a nonbinding estimate, and you won’t be charged until the shipment is picked up, so the final cost could be higher or lower than the original quote depending on whether you need more or less storage than you requested.

If you're a student, senior, military service member or veteran, call to ask a U-Pack representative about getting a discount or enter a discount code for online reservations. You can also save $25 just by booking online.

Here, we’ve compiled some sample trailer and ReloCube pricing for a standard two-bedroom home or apartment, booked one month in advance. These quotes were sourced directly from U-Pack. Add-on items, such as extra day charges or the guaranteed delivery fee, will increase the cost.

Move distanceEstimated price (ReloCube)Estimated price (trailer)

Dallas to Phoenix$3,654$3,130
Boston to Atlanta$4,590$3,628

FAQ

How big is a U-Pack ReloCube?

A ReloCube is about 330 cubic feet and is designed to fit all furniture and moving boxes from one large room.

How long does it take U-Pack to deliver?

It usually takes U-Pack four to six days to deliver your things.

How reliable is U-Pack for long-distance moves?

U-Pack is generally considered reliable for long-distance moves, with roughly two-thirds of ConsumerAffairs reviewers rating the company at four or five stars. Positive customer reviews often cite timely delivery and good customer service.

Is U-Pack good for cross-country moves?

Yes, U-Pack is designed specifically for long-distance and cross-country moves, typically over 150 miles. Its “you pack, they drive” model can be a cost-effective option if you’re comfortable handling loading and unloading yourself.

Does U-Pack offer packing services?

No, U-Pack does not offer packing services. You’re responsible for packing, loading and unloading your belongings, and you’ll need to purchase your own packing materials separately.

Is U-Pack safe for storage?

U-Pack offers secure storage options, with containers and trailers that can be locked by the customer and secured during transit and storage. While it includes basic protection, coverage may be more limited than full-service movers, so additional protection may be worth considering.

Is U-Pack insured?

U-Pack offers carrier negligence liability coverage of 10 cents per pound. Note that this is below the minimum liability coverage of 60 cents per pound required for moving companies. This is because U-Pack is registered as a freight forwarder rather than a household goods motor carrier.

For a fee of $75 to $175, you can increase the amount of negligence coverage. U-Pack also provides catastrophic loss coverage of $3.00 per pound. The company’s claims process is fairly simple: First, you email U-Pack to open a claim, then the company sends you a form to submit along with documentation.

Still have questions?

Is U-Pack worth it?

U-Pack can be more affordable than a full-service moving company, and it’s transparent about its fees. The company offers fast delivery and charges only for the storage you use. Overall, we think U-Pack is a good option if you’re looking for an easy long-distance moving solution and want to avoid hidden costs.

Not well stated how large the truck was before it arrived, meaning I had to figure out alternative parking quickly. Numbers on the inside of the truck were so rubbed off that I had to guess the length and was upcharged for the extra space I accidentally took. The barricades were so old and rusted that we could barely get them locked together, and they moved during transfer, causing my things to shift.

Nothing broke to my knowledge but it made unloading a hassle for my movers. Took over a week to arrive at my new apartment and ended up in a hold/transfer loop with customer service, trying to schedule more than once during the whole process. Once I got scheduled, they arrived 2 hours earlier than my delivery window, and I had to rush to be ready to meet the driver. The drivers were all very nice throughout the process and called ahead of time. Once I got to the right person to talk to, he was very kind and helpful. No lock provided made me nervous, especially leaving the truck overnight. A numerical lock that the driver and consumer get the code to would make it feel more secure.

We have used UPack twice, going from Washington to South Carolina, then from SC back to the west again. I would highly recommend anyone use them to move. The folks at UPack and ABF trucking are nothing but fantastic and amazing to make your move smooth. Yes, you have to pack the trailer however, for us, whether we had friends or hired muscles, to do this was easy. For us, the cost was very important, and when comparing moving companies, PODs, using U-Haul, this was far above any of them, with the least costly move. With this, getting our house moved safely and all the representatives for both companies that helped as situations arose with our experiences, I would recommend UPack/ABF for all or any of your moves, especially across the country, and no one else.

I just moved from Missouri back to Hawaii and Upack was the best price I could find. It was still expensive, but it’s a long distance. The pod was super small, but somehow I fit ALL my belongings inside with the help of a friend who’s a Tetris wizard. It arrived right on time, and not a single item was broken or damaged. I had a few big mirrors, tall glass vases, and lots of glassware. NOTHING was broken!! They dropped it off in my driveway (other companies, I would have had to pick up from the harbor on the other side of the island.) Super happy with the whole experience and would definitely recommend.

We used UPack to move from FL to ME - upon delivery in ME we found many items damaged. Everything was packed well and wrapped in UHaul blankets and strapped in with ratchets. Our whole antique bedroom set (Dresser, headboard and End Table) were damaged beyond use.... chunks of wood broken off, scratched so badly it is now junk and cannot ever be restored correctly. They also damaged an expensive wooden TV stand that was also wrapped very tightly. My daughter's expensive brand new $30,000 motorized wheelchair got ripped along with 2 other chairs. Scratches and dents in most everything.

We moved this exact same stuff to FL last year with no damage done to anything. The cubes were mishandled badly and slammed around quite a bit too cause as much damage as they did. We even witnessed it when the driver dropped them off. After he set one cube down he got the other one and hit the first one with it.... his EXACT words were "Oh well! Until they make these see through this is gonna keep happening. I took pictures of fresh punctures in the cube that were not there when we packed them. I submitted a claim but don't expect much as they will blame you for not packing it right.

We lost basically every piece of furniture we had to damage - I will NEVER use this company again nor so I recommend them to anyone. If you do - take videos, pictures of everything and even then they cover their butt in the contract and only pay .10 a lb for damaged items IF you can prove they did it.... so therefore you get next to nothing for losing all your belongings. Pretty sad to pay over $5000 to lose everything and have to replace it due to negligence that will never be recognized by the company.

I had to move 5 bedroom house from Seattle to New York. I received full service quotes for more than 20k from reputable organizations. The online ads is mostly shady/scam brokers. They give you a really low quote based on their assessment of how much you need. But the catch is that they will charge you based on actual volume and not the quoted price. And after they come they will first load your stuff and then tell you the final number. If you refuse to pay at that point they will ransom your stuff or charge you thousands of dollars to unload it all. Basically it is all a big scam.

For example the rep from Vanlines said I only need 600 cu. Ft. and quoted 6k for that. Which I knew was part of the scam. I booked U-Pack and booked the entire 28ft trailer. It was roughly 2000 cu. ft. I filled it all up and still had to throw away some stuff (imagine the rep from vanlines was trying to convince me that I only need 600 cu ft). UPack quoted 7k and they promised they’ll deliver in 11 days in NY and they did. It was a great experience. Highly recommend. Better than driving yourself.

I hired U-Pack to move from NM to WA. The week before my trailer was dropped off they inform me the date I booked on their website wasn’t available and never was actually available. I had to change everything that I scheduled (movers, packers, move out date). They swore they would show up at 5pm to pick up the trailer. They showed up a 1pm, saying they take it then or I have to wait another 5 days. For my legal minds, this situation is called fraudulent inducement of contract. U-Pack also altered my weight tickets that I paid $150 for. I had to contact CAT to get the original tickets to prove to U-Pack that the tickets had been altered by their team. Took this issue to BBB, which was an absolute waste of time. Working with the Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General at the moment.

A month ago, I used U-Pack to move from New Jersey to Florida because their price is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than other moving companies. We got the items shipped after about 10 days. The bulkhead used to separate my items and commercial shipment was shaking and the top lock bar of it was not in the right slot when the truck arrived in Florida. Additionally, there are many items broken including 3 fine wine glasses, 2 champion glasses, and a Clay tea set (wedding gift from Chinese trip) even though I wrapped them thoroughly and packed them in boxes. I filed a damage claim, but the company denied it saying the shipment was never transferred by their personnel nor involved in any accidents. They blamed us for not packaging the items properly. However, I have a video showing the bulkhead was nicely locked from Jersey but pretty messed up in Florida. It clearly shows something happened during the shipment. Anyways, I don't recommend the moving company.

So I want to start off by saying I read every single review in here before deciding to go with U-Pack. It was so cheap compared to Pods, and easier to manage compared to Uhaul's shipping containers, but I was very nervous. I personally had a great experience. I got one of the containers, not part of a trailer, and was having it shipped from Florida to Iowa. They dropped it off to my mom, and she had it packed up and ready to go. I scheduled pickup for Monday on Friday morning- they ended up coming Tuesday (but not a huge deal considering no one needs to be there for pickup). It arrived in Iowa on Sunday and I chose drop off today between 8-12, and he came at 8:30. It overall went super well! The customer service was very nice and the truck drivers communicated with me whenever they were headed my way.

      Reviewed Aug. 29, 2022

This is the email I sent to U-Pack/ABF over 3 weeks ago and have not had any response. I'm including U-pack and ABF in this reply as I am overall extremely dissatisfied in my choice to use this service for my out of state moving. I'm very unhappy with how this situation was handled. I was a warehouse supervisor for 10 years and have loaded and unloaded countless trucks for long haul, cross country transport. I have been in the freight and transportation industry for over 20 years. I am fully aware of how to load, unload, stack, pack etc and the condition of freight after long hauls in commercial vehicles. I loaded exactly as the specifications on the website stated.

Load the largest and heaviest furniture, appliances and boxes first. Place them against the walls to help evenly distribute the weight throughout the truck/trailer/container. Stack items from floor to ceiling, putting heavy items on the bottom and lighter ones on the top. Load tight, like a jigsaw puzzle — fill all space to avoid shifting in transit. Use things like pillows, rugs and bags of linens to fill any open space. Each tier should be close to the trailer/ReloCube ceiling before beginning the next tier. Tie each one off with ratchet straps/rope to secure. Place fragile items or awkwardly shaped items on last and secure tightly (make sure to mark them “fragile”).

Place lightweight, loose items like small rolled up rugs, bundled mops and brooms on top. All of my belongings were packed in plastic totes of the same size and shape. Everything else was furniture or odd shaped/sized that had to be loaded separately. These were packed light on top and heavy on bottom. I had multiple blankets, dog beds etc packed in between. My loading job could not have been more even, level and secure. I used somewhere between 10-15 ratchet straps throughout the load. I am very offended that I am being blamed for the damage and expected to believe that this was all perfectly normal transport. Again, I have unloaded hundreds of trailers and I'm VERY aware of what damage from poor loading looks like. More often than not, entire loads are not damaged on arrival.

Parts of trailers that were loaded securely and level will not have sustained damage while other parts are damaged due to how they were stacked. My entire container showed proof of extreme vibration and shaking. This is not normal. I Am aware from your letter that investigation showed no accidents or abnormal conditions, that may be true, however, that does not show that the equipment itself was not in need of some sort of servicing like suspension, balancing etc. I had a metal bathroom wall rack in my container.

Although it sustained no damage, it was securely put together and has roughly 20 bolts holding all the bars together. Upon arriving here it was completely disassembled and every bolt had completely unscrewed itself and come out of the bars. That is not normal conditions, that is extreme vibration and constant movement.

The purpose of this email is for one, to let U-pack know how my situation is being handled. I can not in good conscience promote or encourage others to use this service. I was very excited to use a service like this and not have to drive a moving truck across 3 states. After this experience I wish I had. It was not cheaper than renting a truck, possibly more expensive and then to have so much damage to my belongings is very disappointing. Secondly, people considering using your service should be aware of just what extremes they need to go through to not have their property damaged. I have more experience with freight than most people I know, so the majority of your customers are going to experience the loss I have and if that's not the case then there were definitely excessive circumstances with my move.

I was very fair in the damages I listed for review, I did not nitpick and only listed the major things that were damaged which did not amount to a great deal (the pergola I listed was brand new and sustained lots of cosmetic wear, the price I listed was the value of when I purchased it but I was not expecting full compensation). I am very offended that not only can you not find some way to fairly accommodate me but you tell me it's my fault and pass blame to me. That's no way to provide good customer service and so again, I cannot give recommendations to anyone or provide good reviews.

This was our 2nd time using U-Pack (ABF). First time was in 2006 and we had no complaints back then. This time was different. They left our loaded trailer sitting in near 100° desert heat for 8 days before it started moving to our destination 1800 miles away. Then it took 10 more days for it to finally arrive. What people need to know is that this is not a dedicated door-to-door service. Your personal items can be re-routed to anywhere in the country U-Pack decides, before finally making it to you. This subjects your items to additional road conditions and because you load it yourself, the company is not liable at all for any damages incurred to your things while in-transit. You and your personal affects are completely at their mercy. I thought that because we used an entire 26’ trailer-space, they would not have any reason to re-route our things while in-transit to pick up additional freight. I was wrong.

They said they still had 2’ of space to use for other customers’ things which may be destined for cities or towns along the route to us. And then they pick up more, re-route, drop-off, pick up another 32 square feet, re-route, drop off and repeat several times before ever reaching you, further subjecting your things to unknown, unforeseen road conditions over a prolonged stretch of time. When I called U-Pack ‘customer service’, it quickly became apparent to me that they are not a customer-service-oriented company. They will find any way they can to paint themselves as honorable while you sit helplessly like a fool, waiting for your personal items to arrive.

They had all of our things and $5,000 of our money. Complaining to them made no difference. They have your stuff and they will subject your items to as additional many road-miles as they wish to maximize profit. That is all they care about. It’s been 12 days and we are still waiting for delivery. U-Pack has cured us. We will never move out of state again. This has been a totally bizarre nightmare. Getting too old for this bs. Suggestion: If you are planning an upcoming move, either hire a professional full-service moving company with end-to-end liability coverage, or rent a U-Haul truck, load it and drive it yourself. U-Pack is only good for commercial/business shipping. They should not be in the residential service market at all. Your things will be destroyed unless you at least hire a pro to load it for you.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. We chose U-pack over UHaul to move our daughter from Richmond VA to Fort Wayne Indiana. We had to pack the Relo-Cube at their facility which was fine since it brought the price down. On Friday, July 15th we loaded it up, locked it up, signed the paperwork and left. According to the contract, it was to arrive in Fort Wayne in 5-7 business days - so no later than July 26th. On the 27th, I contacted the facility in Fort Wayne to schedule the delivery and was told that they did not have our cube and that it appeared to still be in Richmond. I immediately contacted customer service and had several conversations that day and every day thereafter for the next 2 weeks.

It quickly became apparent that they had no idea where our cube was and had no way to track it because apparently someone in Richmond failed to do their job and log it on the manifest. There are also no GPS trackers on the pods to safeguard against human error. I was told many times that it "wasn't lost," that they had to have people "walk the yards" and check the CCTV footage, first in Richmond, then it was Winston Salem, then it was Ohio, then New York. I was told about how these facilities were super backed up and had tons of trucks to be offloaded and that it would turn up. Eventually they refunded our 850.00 - the cost for the service but assured us that it would be found and that they were still looking.

A month later, our daughter is 10 hours away, in a new city where she knows no one, sleeping on an air mattress on the floor, without her belongings. Our entire summer vacation was planned around this trip to help her move and we had to leave her without her things. Suddenly, they don't want to return emails and phone calls and when I posted about our experience on their Facebook page they deleted it and blocked me. Our claim for reimbursement is pending. Bottom Line - USE ANOTHER COMPANY but no matter who you go with, do yourself a favor and put your own GPS tracker in the container.

We were moving from NY to FL. We were given a 28 ft trailer which at the time of delivery did not know it was damaged. When it arrived to us in Florida the roof of the trailer was badly leaking and you could see daylight looking up at the ceiling of the trailer. Upon further inspection we noticed it was damaged previously because it looked like they had tried to seal the leaks. All of our belongings were just saturated with water. At the very least U-Pack should have inspected the trailer before delivering it to us. Especially since they knew it had a previous leak on the top of the trailer. I feel that is total negligence on their part.

They really cover themselves with their contract because they only pay $.10 per pound up to $2000. Everything we owned was on that trailer. We expected possibly some breakage if things got shifted around during the transport but never did we think there would be damage in the roof that caused so much water damage. They will not compensate us enough for what we have lost. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I don’t typically leave good reviews as I expect a company to do what they offer and don’t need praise for doing so. ABF/U-Pack has given me a reason to leave a GLOWING review. I had to move a 5 bedroom house from WNY to Central Texas. Daunting in every way. ABF was the bright point. Their pricing blew the competition out of the water. They gave me 5 days (including a weekend) to pack at my pace to ensure everything arrived safe and secure. They picked up the trailer when they said they would. Tracking was easy and if there was a delay, the customer service was pleasant and helpful.

When it arrived at the destination, I had access to the actual person who dispatched the trailer to my final location. Not a 800 number in another state or country looking at the same data I can see online. Shoutout to Randy at the Killeen Texas depot. I may have called him a few times. He was always courteous and helpful. When we were done packing and unpacking, I got a text to do a simple notification to the location to pick up the trailer. To my surprise and elation, they did it the same business day! I cannot rave enough about this company and the quality of their service. U-Pack Review. Worst experience ever. I’m moving from Massachusetts to Nevada.

o They dropped off the 28’ trailer in my driveway in Massachusetts on time. Giving me 5 days to load.

o Packing material: It’s a moving company, so I expected pads, blankets, ropes, all kinds of necessities to pack .. there was NONE, zero. When I called, they said, "We don’t supply any," so I had to go buy everything.

o The trailer was dirty: Dirt, wood chips, debris, used straws, empty juice boxes, …etc. I had to clean it before putting my stuff in.

o The ramp: The ramp doesn’t slide out/in from under the trailer like U-Haul trucks, it’s a 200-250 LB folded in half ramp, to be carried out/in to the trailer.

o The lock pad: To lock the trailer overnight, I asked for the key to the lock-pad attached to the trailer gate, I was told “We can’t give you that, you have to buy your own”.

o 2 days later; I get a call from their driver “I’m ready to pick-up the trailer” I told him I’m not even halfway done, the deal is 5 days.

o Ramp Doesn’t fit: When the ramp is folded, it doesn’t fit the width of the trailer, it's about 6”-12” wider than the trailer, you have to stand it up to fit in.

o The “Bulkhead Panel”: The gate to secure your stuff from moving around, is falling apart, broken wood, with holes all over… heavy, needs 2 people to move it and adjust it to lock.

o Delivery to destination: Was promised 7-8 business days to deliver … needless to say it took them 22 day to arrive in Nevada.

o Close on weekends: They don’t do business on weekends!!! No delivery, no pickup, not even answering their phones. A moving company close on weekends!

o $900 for no reason: Was surprised to see an additional $900 charge on my CC for a month worth of storage that I didn’t ask for. When I called, they say they will credit the CC back, 10 days later, no credit, called back, they said: “For some reason it didn’t go through. Let me do it again.” Check again in another 4-5 business days. Finally got it after 2 weeks.

o 70%-80% Damage: Trailer arrived with 70-80% of my furniture and boxes are damaged… fron scratches and dings, to completely crushed beyond repair or use – when I called – he says, "Nothing we can do for you."

o Pad-locks were cut: they cut the 2 padlocked I have on the trailer doors without even calling or notifying me.

Upack makes the process very easy. You can get an accurate quote and booking online without talking to someone; they'll later call to confirm. They use local freight distributors who know exactly what you need to do in your area to legally have the truck out in the street, and they will walk you through the whole process of getting a permit if needed. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful, as were all our drivers. On top of that, the price can't be beat. You're doing your own loading and unloading, but even if you hired movers on both ends, you're likely still going to come out far ahead of the full service companies price-wise. Upack got my stuff half way across the country with zero breakage in 10 days. Couldn't be happier.

Unpack took advantage of us in Covid. We hired unpack to move us to Georgia. By the time we had arrived there our holder had contracted Covid and was going to be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time due to complications. We decided to head to my parents place in Florida till we could figure out a next step and asked unpack of storage was available. They told us 500/math. Once we got situated we requested it be shipped to the new address.

Not only was the few hours away going to cost us another $2000 to ship it but they would not prorate the 10 days of storage we used. They said we owed the entire 500. I asked for Neils managers information and he refused to provide it. He said I wouldn’t get a different answer from them. He would not provide a last name. He also said, it was written in our contract that they don’t prorate storage. Considering that storage was never discussed, the representative that organization the storage for us, never mentioned that. Yes, this situation was something we were going to have to accept and pay the additional money for but this company took advantage of our back circumstances. So all together almost $6000. They should be ashamed. Covid put us in a bad situation and upack was happy to reap the benefits.

I found the service to be deceiving. They state that you will speak to a specialist who will assist you with finding the right amount of shipping space that you may need based upon what you're shipping. After speaking to them that I had 50-60 boxes and two large living room chairs, three TVs and some other small furniture, they told me that I would only need one storage container (ReloCube). The delivery of the container was 8 am-12 pm. They showed up at 3:30 pm and the container was not large enough for my boxes and furniture. They sent a 28-ft trailer for which I was first told that they would charge me the same price ($1989) for 643 sf (the paperwork said 9 linear feet).

I called for them to pick up after loading and had to follow up because by 4 pm (on the day of pickup) they had not arrived. When I called them, the person whom I spoke to wasn't aware that I had a pickup and they came late that evening, around 8 pm and picked up the trailer. They never told me that I would need to pay an additional $1,000 because they said that I used 16 feet. I called to check on the arrival time and the space used, and that's when I found out I owed them the additional $1,000. They gave me $100 discount and said that was all that they could do. I would never recommend them to anyone. Beware.

I used ABF to move my entire household belongings across country. I don't think they are a typical moving company as I had to load up the truck they provided and rove. But they were the least expensive and arrived On-Time and provided us with plenty of time to load and unload. If you cannot afford the cost of a full service Moving company, this is very good alternative to both a full service company and renting your own moving truck when moving across country.

I have used this company four other times and they were unwilling to give me a decent discount for a fifth time. All the moves were long distance and cost quite a bit. I was very disappointed they were unwilling to assist with a lower rate. The gentleman advised it was because of the time of year, which I was later told by another company should not have impacted the rate. The move was scheduled for November which is an off season for most companies.

As we've seen here, U-Pack is the cheapest and most satisfying price! Geda U-Haul is a big business service provider that also runs U-Haul. It's a bit more reliable. I also love the fact that when I call U-Pack's customer center, I don't get calls from India far away, and that fluent English-speaking Americans get calls quickly without waiting time. But, of course, we don't have that kind of 24-hour customer center. But it's about time I got there. I wanted to call you on a holiday in the U.S. and you answered the phone. Thank you so much.

I used U-Pack cubes to move from Tennessee to Utah. They dropped our two cubes off in Chattanooga TN. a week in advance which provided us plenty of time to get my home packed up. The cubes were then picked up the morning that I was heading out on my roadtrip from TN. to Indiana to visit family. Then I was off to Utah. After arriving in Utah my cubes were delivered to my apartment the next morning. I spent the next two days unpacking the cubes and they were then retrieved in a timely manner. Customer service was great. The entire move was seamless. Wonderful company to deal with and the entire move was right around 3 Grand. Considerably cheaper than any other moving company and I did my research on all my options. Thanks U-Pack for a wonderful long distance move!

Let me start by saying that we are so thankful and appreciative of U-Pack company and awesome service! We have at first reserved a local business movers to completely move us from NH to TX Jan 29th 2018 a month beforehand to be prepared and all. The company in North Hampton NH is called Preferred Movers that claimed they do weekly long distances from NH to South of USA... The owner Patrick Breen and his sales guy Zack come to our 650 square feet apt in Hampton to give us an estimate and sign contract if we like his pricing on a Friday morning weeks before the big move date.

Seems like they are nice guys and all and reassure us that they often do this long distance move and not to worry. He said he will be able to load the truck on Jan 29th around 7am to 9am and have it delivered and unload to our new home in TX around February 8th. We accepted and we started packing and all. Mind you we call at least 3 weeks ahead to plan this.

Now let's fast forward this to Jan 24th Wednesday before the big moving date Monday Jan 29th pickup. The owner calls me up and tells me that he lost another big shipment that was supposed to go South with our stuff because our load was not very big. He ends up saying as a courtesy call he will still be able to pick up our things on Jan 29th but will only delivered our things around February 19th. That's if he can sign up another household to go South with our things!!! 3 long weeks minimum to wait without all our house belongings 2000 miles away. We were furious! He said he will make some calls to a sister company called Ray the Mover in Manchester NH. (Another lying and no ethic company btw. That's another story.) We are only few days away from the move and we have a bunch of our pets to drive cross country for 27 hours and we won't have our things at least for another 3 weeks!

We are panicking, furious, disappointed and worried. We tried to call him back the next day Thursday Jan 25th, the following day after Friday Jan 26th to no avail the owner Patrick Breen and his sales guy Zack never answer or call back. Friday all morning I call all different local movers but with no success due to last minute notice. No one has availability to move us in three days which would be Monday Jan 29th. We freaked out, I drove to Preferred Movers in North Hampton 10 min away... And tried to see if the owner was there or Zack his sales guy. Only to find out that none of those two were there but their secretary. I was upset but remained calm. Told the secretary about the situation and she tells me: That they rarely drive to TX and sometimes have shipments to FL only but don't believe they ever went to TX!

After she called Patrick the owner who would ignore our calls few days before our move he chickened out, didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me and I was standing there listening to his and her conversation. I canceled our reservation right on the spot and she gave me the excuse that he is having the flu and all but could still pick up our things Monday and ship it out whenever he finds another big load to ship out with our things! Not acceptable, disrespectful, unprofessional, and unreliable business.

After she hangs up the secretary had the audacity to offer me her own husband's phone number to help load our things into containers if we were to use U-PACK. She tells me to keep this between her and I because her boss Patrick doesn't know that her husband does work on the side... WOW. What kind of local business is this? Its own secretary/employee is trying to get her own husband some side business being her own boss back... NO THANK YOU. I left and went home.

At last we called U-PACK. A very nice man picked up and said they would be able to deliver Monday Jan 29th two small Relocubes to us right in front of our apt in NH but we will have to move load ourselves. At this point we needed to be moved out by then so we didn't care. My husband and I would do our own move. U-PACK texted me and an agent even called us 1 hour before they delivered the Relocubes. We're there on time, no hassle, placed right where we wanted them. We loaded both Relocubes to their fullest and only had to click a link and called U-PACK and set our containers to be picked up two days later Jan 31st and we didn't need to be present as we were leaving for a long road trip that same morning.

Our neighbor downstairs texted us few hours later to let us know the cubes were being picked up on time like U-PACK promised us. Guess what, the day before our shipment was dropped off they texted us that it will be delivered guaranteed date Monday Feb 5th!!! That's awesome. Arrived right on time, nice gentleman came and asked us where we want it to be placed. So it arrived Monday Feb 5th to TX from NH and we unloaded the containers and our cubes were picked up Wednesday Feb 7th without us being present. U-PACK WERE OUR SAVIORS. EXCELLENT customer service, RELIABLE, on time. They meant what they said and promised! We will definitely use them again. THANK YOU U-PACK TEAM.
