We had this boiler installed by professionals 8 years ago - Halifax, Nova Scotia. Had the boiler serviced every year or two. Two small repairs (~$200 each) since install. This past spring (2022), started to hear a loud 'bang' on start-up. Had igniter replaced ($350). Seemed to fix the issue, not 100% sure though as heating season was over and boiler not on much; but then this fall, started hearing bangs again. Doesn't bang every day and never bangs on DHW, on on DH, as far as I can tell, but still, loud and coming from a nat gas boiler is no fun to hear at all! I have had two different techs in to do combustion test and adjustments ($300). No luck.

Triangle Tube tech support recommendation is to install an 'ignition upgrade' kit ($1000). Why does a relatively new boiler need an upgrade kit? Is there something fundamentally wrong with the original design? Why do I have to pay to fix a design flaw. I will never have TT equipment in my home ever again. Will get the kit installed but also making preliminary plans to have a new boiler from another manufacturer installed in near future.

I've been maintaining and replacing TT boilers for a few years. The Prestige boilers from 2005 have been getting 12 or more years on average. The Instinct that I've installed recently have been running fine. On the old ones, the fire tube bolts have failed. On the new ones just one display screen on a prestige. Very good performance from the instinct boilers. Only about 2500.00 for the boiler from my supply house. The one time I used warranty was smooth. The times I've used tech support was useful and easy to correct my problems. I like these boilers. I suggest using a hydronics specialist, sometimes plumbers don't fully understand.

Purchased a instinct Triangle Tube boiler in 2020. Had it professionally installed and seemed to work fine. After a few weeks it started to make a really loud howling noise from the exhaust. The install came back, called triangle tube and it was a gas air mix issue. Was resolved after that until the spring when it started again. It was so loud that our neighbors started to complain and some even called the authorities for noise ordinance. We called the installer again and he came out and resolved the issues again.

Fast forward one year and boom it happened again. This time I called triangle tube and talked to a technician. He claimed that we needed to have this tuned whenever that happens. I looked in the documentation and it that is not listed anywhere. So after thousands in fines and technician calls I contacted triangle tube and they went radio silent on making this right. I would never purchase anything from this company as they do not care at all about their users.

We had a Triangle Tube Solo 110 installed 10 years ago. The first 5 years worked great, only occasional reset was needed, but no big deal. Since then, the motor went, then ignitor was changed twice, control panel was changed, water pressure sensor was changed. Numerous visits by plumbers. The error code given by the machine not consistent, and in many cases, misleading. Every year, more than $1,000 has to be spent to keep is running. I am sure there is room for the company to improve on reliability and consistency. For a new installation, I will not go with Triangle Tube again.

We installed the Prestige 399 Triangle unit 12 years ago. The unit runs great except every 3 years the blower unit fails, which costs $1,200 each time. The first time the motor itself stopped working, the last three times the plastic propeller is getting brittle and shredding itself in pieces. Very disappointing.

We had the Triangle tube prestige boiler and hot water installed in 2011. We had lots of issues in the beginning but our plumber was fantastic to us, and returned and worked with the factory for days. First the intake fan assembly went, now 8 years later the tank is leaking. We must pay $2000 upfront for tank and pay for the plumbers cost. Their warranty is useless! Our plumber suggest another boiler, imagine 8 years and it has to be replaced! This is the worse company and product I have ever seen. DO NOT USE TRIANGLE TUBE PRODUCTS, OR YOU WILL PAY ONGOING FEES.

We had a Triangle Tube Prestige 110 installed in November of 2011. Have had nothing but problems since. Installers were obviously new to these units. Had to have them keep coming back. They kept throwing parts at it including a motherboard. The last time they came back they changed the supply line coming from the water heater from the supply side to the return side thinking this would solve some issue. When the unit fires, it pops and crackles like there is air in the unit but after about hundred attempts to bleed the air, it does not help. The installer quick coming back as they were losing their ** on our unit and wanted to start charging us every time we called them. The unit also keeps reaching the High Boiler Temp and shuts off. we have to do a manual reset several times a day. Obviously some sensor had gone bad. We spent almost $14K on this and it has been junk.

Triangle Tube Prestige Excellence. System installed in 2014. Tank failed about 2 years after installation. Had to be replaced. We had to pay for the new tank and wait to be reimbursed even though it was under warranty (cost $900.00 + plumber’s time & cost). We had no hot water. Luckily it was summer so didn’t need heat.

Next a year later a sensor (PSRKIT63 DHW Sensor) died and had to be replaced (cost approx. $60.00 plus time and expense to pick it up and plumber cost). The plumber could not fix this. A rep from Triangle Tube came to the house and found the issue.

At 4 ½ years (1/4/2019) after installation, tank failed again. Had 7 plus inches of water in my basement. Had to rent a pump to empty drain the basement (cost 60.00). Called the plumber and he talked to tech support, was told the Boiler Piping return Assembly (not sure of the cost) was bad. The part needed to be ordered, asked for express shipping. Received on Monday, when installed it still leaked. Determined it was the tank. Tanked needed to be ordered. This time we did not have to pay up front this time, to me it sounds like at this time knew they had problems with their systems. Amazingly they found a tank and we just had to wait for it to be shipped. The tank was installed on late Wednesday. We had to stay with friends as it was too cold in the house. Five days without both heat and hot water. Do not have a bill from the plumber for the latest repair.

We bought this system because it was supposed to be one of the best. But after less than five years, what do we have going forward. The likelihood of more repairs/cost. We would ask that Triangle Tube extend the warranty five more years as the first five have been a disgrace to your name and reputation. As well as the out of pocket expenses incurred.

Six years ago my husband decided it was time to replace the furnace and the hot water with something more efficient. Since then he has passed away and I am left with the job of continuously running out of hot water. The furnace itself broke down last year. The furnace we replaced we had for thirty years and we never had a service person come for repairs. We did it have it cleaned once a year but that was the extent of it all. The company that installed the furnace are forever giving me excuses for the failure, and I believe they have replaced just about every part that there is to replace and it seems there is no end in sight.

I certainly would never recommend this unit to anyone and I'm going to make sure that I make this known to anyone who will listen. I am a widow and I cannot afford a new furnace, but it seems that is what I must do in order to make sure that I have hot water. Also at this point, since the hot water is constantly breaking down, I do not know if the furnace will start on that same path. I just cannot take that chance. By the way when we first installed "The Challenger" we started having issues with the hot water. but then it seemed that it straighten itself out, but much to dismay that was not the case.

Two months later the sensor on the tank went leaving us without hot water for days. I've spent an average of $1K - $1.5K every year on this boiler not including the hot water tank replacement. Spent $5,000+ in as many years troubleshooting and this never solved the problem. Water tank failed at year 8 (covered but not the significant installation fee). When this failed after only 13 months decision to quit was easy. New machine is Weil - McLain and works like a charm and comes highly recommended.

I keep trying to adjust the temp down on my hot water. I lower it a few degrees every few weeks. Eventually it goes from scalding to lukewarm. Now it says outside sensor is open and nowhere in the multiple manuals is that covered. The manual and control panel was designed by morons. There used to be a time where you could use common sense to program a hot water heater. You just turned the dial up or down. Now you have to figure out which menu to which thermostat, adjust it down, and then wait and see. Then there is the staining on top from a leak somewhere. I had to wait 3 weeks, in northern Wisconsin, with no heat in January.

ACV Triangle Smart 60 - Mediocre Product at a Premium Price. I cannot recommend this product or company. The reason is ACV Triangle charges a premium price claiming to be a superior product, however; my customer experience has proven it to be a mediocre product. Furthermore, the company does not stand behind their product & chooses not to support their customers. There is no reason to pay the premium for ACV Triangle when the Home Depot will give you the same experience.

I purchased the ACV Smart-60 hot water heater on my plumber's recommendation because of the tube in tube design & the company brochure claims the average lifespan is 20 years. Seven years into the life of the product it sprung a leak! We had items in our basement destroyed, no hot water for 2 days and a plumber's bill of $640. ACV Triangle DID provide a replacement hot water heater at no charge as per their warranty. However, the warranty does NOT cover the labor expense. Therefore, you the consumer who is dumb enough to pay a premium for ACV Triangle, must also pay the plumber's fees to cover for their defective product. My issue is not paying the plumber's fee. Rather, this is a premium product & I expected ACV Triangle to provide premium customer service after the sale.

I contacted ACV's national sales manager who promptly rejected my request for reimbursement of labor expenses. I then contacted the company president (twice) who is radio silent. I understand every company has an occasional dud. What I don't understand is 'IF' this company has a premium product at a premium price and defects are truly rare, why don't they step up and spend a few hundred dollars to clean up their own mess? Or is it that the duds are common, and the average lifespan of 20 years is a lie so if they had to pay all of the plumber's fees it would break them?

I don't know the answer, but do you really want to find out the expensive way? Also what type of company president does not engage with his own customers? It would have been a fantastic opportunity to turn a dissatisfied customer into a brand ambassador. Perhaps the investors of ACV Triangle will read this and explain why any sane person would purchase their product?

I'm a homeowner and installed a Triangle Tube Prestige Solo 110 boiler in November of 2010. It has worked extremely well ever since. The only problems I've had have been too low water cutoff and frost condensing in the fresh air inlet tube. I have not had to call a service company for advice or for repair. Every year we have extended periods of outdoor temperatures of -20F and colder. After comparing my natural gas bills I have saved 40% compared to my previous cast iron open flame boiler (1960's vintage). I would definitely consider another one when this one wears out.

I purchased this heater system (Prestige Excellence 110 heater) after a long in service with a salesperson 9 years ago. I did have the service contract but decided to cancel it after 3 years because the cost of the service for the year was more than an average repair. The last four years I have had the gas company come to repair the unit. It is always the same thing, they have to order parts and be without heat for 3 days. Two weeks ago the heater broke down again. After waiting for parts they were able to get the heat working but not the hot water. This week I get a call from the people living at my house that the heater won’t turn off and the house temperature is in the 90's. I go to the house and found that when the heater failed the week before it almost caught fire. The interior wall insulation had burned off. They had taped the manual to the outside of the same wall and the manual was burnt. Imagine the heat that had been giving off to cause that.

There could have been a fire or explosion. I am in the midst of getting the house fixed up to sell and my unconscious is bothering me with what I deem a faulty heating system. I will be contacting the company about the seriousness of this situation and what could have happened. What is worse is the system failed to shut down in case of an emergency which this incident obviously was! The manufacturer will only warranty some of the parts but not all and I have to pay for the labor which will be hefty. I guess this is not a big deal to them. I will be following up via other avenues with this incident.

We have had this Triangle Tube Prestige system for 8 years. Since then: 1) The blower fan housing disintegrated, 2) The system leaked through the spiral vents into the cabinet and the controller board. Now the heat won't shut off in one of the zones, although I replaced the thermostat, thinking that was the problem. We had a small system that worked fine for over 30 years, then had this piece of junk installed. I am considering having a heat/AC company come in and replace the whole system. Having it repaired, at a minimum of $300 per repair visit, seems like throwing good money after bad.

I wished I reviewed this site before purchasing the CC125H. I see that installers give great reviews. While customers give poor reviews. If the company would review all these complaints and improve their customer service they might find themselves leading the industry. I called in three times about my unit. First for a boiler motor and second a error message (5-E). The boiler motor failed the day it was turned on. It took a week of a hundred phone calls and warranty form to get them to send me a replacement. SHAME ON THEM.

On the 5 e error keeps popping on once a day and I have talked to the tech at TRIANGLE TUBE who has given me advice on faulty ground wires to poor air output. I try the hot water in the sink a if it is cold I know it's a error message 5-E. Never got a return message about a problem I was having. Obviously this company doesn't have the people to solve customer complaints. Maybe the BBB in all the states should look into this company's practices. Sad I think they have a good product but poor management skills to solve customer complaints. Thank God I didn't buy stock in this company. Another KMart, Sears and many good companies downfall: POOR MANAGEMENT.

Triangle Tube Prestige Solo 110 with domestic hot water system: Nothing but problems - my worst homeowner purchase. Installed in 2010, $8k for the boiler, another $3k for the hot water part. So far: 2 of 3 water circulating pumps failed (not Triangle Tube's fault, but it is a complex system and has a lot of components). Main circuit board had intermittent fault that took 2 years for TT to finally replace. During this time we had many flameouts resulting in no heat or hot water until boiler was manually restarted. (No audio alert so you don't know boiler is out until you run out of hot water or the house gets cold). Hot water storage tank failed (TT did replace it but it cost me $75 for the thermostat that wasn't covered).

Now the blower has failed (another $700 to get fixed, although now that I know what part it is could replace for about $300 myself). I cannot recommend this system. It does provide essentially unlimited hot water, and saves a lot on natural gas. But I give some of that back in electricity as the unit requires 3 water pumps and a blower. No heat or hot water when power is out or unit is broken. Limited local vendors in Chicago, so I'm stuck with the overpriced company that installed the thing. Stick with a separate hot water system, or at least a demand inline heater if you live in an area that has power outages.
