I was at Home Depot, and a young lady was making a pitch for RainSoft. A guy came and did a presentation, and he was good. The only thing that I didn't understand, and I'm not sure he even mentioned it, was that the system uses a lot of water to do the reverse osmosis. It's a bit concerning since I wasn't expecting the system to create excess water waste during usage. Even though I haven't seen a spike in my water bill, understanding this aspect beforehand might have influenced my decision differently.
When it comes to the quality of the water itself, my wife insists the drinking water tastes better now, even though I don't notice much difference from before. As for installation, it was a smooth process led by diligent workers who completed it fairly quickly while I was busy.
Looking at value, the cost seemed quite high initially, especially considering the additional expense of filter changes. Overall though, the customer service experience was excellent, and despite some downsides, the positive interactions with the RainSoft team made up for initial hesitations. Ultimately, I would recommend RainSoft.

RainSoft is in Home Depot and my decision to purchase the water treatment system was influenced by recurring issues that a plumber identified. He suggested that a water filtration system might reduce sediment buildup and plumbing problems.
I opted for a whole-house system and since its installation, I've noticed several changes, particularly when showering. The sensation of soap lingering on the skin is gone, leaving a clean but slippery feel, which I've come to appreciate. The overall water experience within the house, including improved flow from faucets and reduced mildew, has been significant.
However, I've faced challenges with the drinking water aspect. After consuming the filtered water from my under-sink system, I experienced symptoms like weakness and even made an urgent care visit due to fever and body aches. Despite their assurance from water tests indicating it's safe, I've paused using it for drinking, opting for bottled water instead. The issue could stem from other personal factors, so I’m approaching it cautiously, planning to reassess if it reoccurs.
In terms of household improvements, I’ve seen marked benefits with RainSoft in terms of showering, plumbing, and faucet performance, which has notably improved.

We were searching for water filters, and we went to Home Depot. A salesperson advised us to consult with a professional who could assess our water and suggest the best options. RainSoft’s representatives came to our home, tested our water, and recommended a system.
We opted for a comprehensive system that treats all the water in our home, not just for reverse osmosis in the kitchen. The difference has been noticeable; our water feels much softer, and our skin isn't as dry as before. We're really pleased with the positive outcome.
The installation process was smooth, and the workers were efficient, completing it in a timely manner. We're really happy with their work and professionalism.
Overall, our experience with RainSoft has been fantastic, and I would confidently recommend them to friends. While discussing customer service including quality and representation, I felt the experience was top-notch. In terms of pricing, I found it to be reasonable.

We bought a dishwasher in Home Depot and heard about RainSoft. We live in a rural area and we are very often on boil-water notices so we felt a need to address our water quality. My husband mostly handled the installation—opting for a whole-house water softener and a filtration system for the kitchen.
Although we haven't tested the water scientifically, the taste has definitely improved, and we've noticed the absence of hard water spots on our surfaces. The water feels softer, especially noticeable in the shower.
As newcomers to the system, we haven't faced much upkeep yet, other than planning to occasionally add salt, which my husband is taking care of. We have the unit outside and they built a little box around it. So, hopefully, my husband will keep an eye on it.
Our neighbor already had the system, and their positive experience reinforced our confidence in getting RainSoft. I would recommend it, though I recognize its higher price might deter some. But overall, we've been satisfied with its performance.

I knew about RainSoft from Home Depot and when the representative did the presentation at my home, he was informative. We settled on a system that cost nearly $11,000, covering areas beyond just the kitchen, inclusive of our laundry.
Although I wasn't present during the installation, my husband handled everything. The most noticeable change has been the water's feel, especially during showers; it’s quite different and improved. We also added reverse osmosis in the kitchen for drinking water, which made a difference since we hadn't drunk much water from the tap before its installation.
Everyone in the house is quite pleased with the system overall. As for customer service and product quality, I'd happily give RainSoft a top rating. However, I must mention that the pricing was quite high, feeling extremely expensive for what we got.

I had RainSoft put in the water softener about a decade ago and more recently, I added a charcoal component to the setup. Both parts of the system have been functioning perfectly, and I haven't encountered any issues since the installation.
Working with RainSoft has been a pleasant experience. They kept their promises regarding the installation timeline and service quality, which is something I really appreciate. They delivered on their commitments. I’m very satisfied with the system and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a water treatment solution.

RainSoft’s customer service throughout the installation process was quite pleasant. We definitely noticed a difference in the water quality – it's softer, just as we wanted.
However, there was some inconsistency regarding which type of salt to use. One service representative recommended block salt and another suggested crystal. This minor confusion aside, everything else has been satisfactory.
Overall, we're pleased with their service.

My experience with RainSoft's customer service during the setup was exceptional; they were great throughout the process. I opted for a range of products including their oxidation, filtration, air filter, and reverse osmosis systems – essentially, the whole bundle.
After installation, I've noticed a significant improvement in the quality of my water. The sales and installation team were professional, courteous, and extremely polite. There wasn't a single fault I could find with their service. Overall, I am satisfied with RainSoft Water Treatment Systems.
Reviewed July 12, 2025
We've had the RainSoft system for around 30 to 45 days now. The overall sales and installation process went smoothly, though there was a minor issue during installation due to a defective part — a pinched seal on the filter system's bypass resulted in a water leak. Fortunately, this was quickly resolved.
My girlfriend, who was particularly keen on getting the system, loves the drinking water tap that produces alkaline water. She notices a significant improvement in the water quality. Personally, I don't detect such a vast difference, but the system works great for our needs. Being a big water drinker myself, I appreciate the functionality it adds to our daily routine.
While the quality of the system is commendable, I do feel the cost is quite steep at $13,000. The financing options were limited, offering either to pay a certain amount over three years or triple that cost over ten years, which I feel could be improved for better affordability.
Despite these financial considerations, I'd still rate the system around a 4 overall. It's great for our household, although some aspects could be refined, particularly in terms of cost-efficiency.

The installation of my RainSoft system was pretty easy and simple. It's not a bad price either, and I'd recommend it. With the system installed, I like having clean water. However, I signed the paperwork and am still waiting on a phone call from the company to make a payment. I haven't got that call yet. The young lady who I sent the paperwork to gave me a number to call so I gotta do that.

I chose RainSoft Water Treatment Systems due to a free water testing offer at Home Depot. Initially, I intended only to take the survey and receive a $50 gift certificate without any intention of purchasing a system. However, after a thorough and informative presentation by the salesman, AJ, I decided to invest in the system. AJ did an excellent job at explaining the benefits, making me change my mind.
The installation process was smooth. The technician was efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous, installing the system quickly without any issues. Since getting the system, I've noticed the water feels much softer on my hands, and there's an increase in the amount of suds during dishwashing. My shower head, which used to get clogged with calcium buildup, now pours down clean and direct water, showing improvement in water quality.
Overall, I’m highly satisfied with my RainSoft system and the noticeable improvements it has made in our daily water use. Both the salesman and installer delivered top-tier service, leaving me with a positive impression of the company. I'd confidently recommend RainSoft to others seeking a reliable water treatment solution.

We came across RainSoft Water Treatment Systems during a visit to Home Depot. We were contemplating whether to get a filtration system, and their timing was impeccable. Their explanation convinced me this was the right choice for us.
We had been dealing with hard water issues, which were particularly harsh on our skin. My wife and I both noticed dryness, and our children's skin showed more dry spots. The filtration system seemed like a solution we needed.
Since installing the system, the changes have been noticeable. Showering used to leave a chlorine scent, but now the water feels different, better even. We don't have as much of that dry feeling anymore and our skin’s natural oil remains intact. Drinking water is also significantly improved compared to plain tap water.
In terms of maintenance, we've had the system for less than two months, and so far the salt hasn’t dropped. The company advised us to call when it needs flushing, which is required every one to two years.
Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, supported by their swift response to a minor issue we had with a pipe. The customer service has been commendable; I would give RainSoft a top rating. I would certainly suggest my family and neighbors consider investing in RainSoft. The improvement in our quality of life is palpable, and the difference in water quality is clear.

Living in Texas, where the water is quite hard, a water softener was essential. So, I've had a RainSoft system for over 10 years now and about a month ago, I had maintenance work done. The carbon filter needs replacement every three years and the reverse osmosis filters annually. During this visit, the technician recommended replacing some older parts and that cost me a pretty penny. But he assured me that this would ensure the system's longevity without further expenses. The difference the system made is noticeable. Initially, I thought I couldn't get the soap off my hands, but I quickly realized that was due to the water softness. I love the RainSoft system. Despite the initial cost, which was high at the time I purchased it, it has been invaluable.

I decided to go with RainSoft for our water treatment needs, as I've installed their systems in the last two homes I've owned. I'm incredibly familiar with the difference RainSoft systems make; the taste and feel of our water have noticeably improved.
For anyone considering a water treatment system, I would not hesitate to hand them a recommendation card for RainSoft. Their system is not only efficient in our main house but also covers our pool house and shop, effectively handling our entire property's needs.
We purchased the current system a few months ago, following a positive experience with a previous one. Although it's early with this new setup, everything is running smoothly so far, and if the performance of our past system is any indication, we're in for a consistent, satisfying experience. I find the pricing reflects the value of what you get, and I wouldn’t have invested in it if I thought otherwise.
Overall, I would openly recommend RainSoft to friends and family based on the performance and peace of mind the system offers.

We went with RainSoft Water Treatment Systems, and one positive aspect is the noticeable reduction of lime scale, which leaves everything significantly cleaner. However, the system is somewhat bulky, and I wish it was smaller to save space.
The consultation experience was excellent, primarily due to Dorothy's helpful and pleasant demeanor. Likewise, the technician and the salesperson were both exceedingly polite and professional. We had a minor delay with the electrician, who was injured and unable to install a necessary plug, but that's not a real problem for us.
An aspect that could improve my overall experience would be a salt delivery and dump service, as handling those heavy bags can be quite challenging for us. Despite these minor issues, I'm thrilled with the system, stating that it's more expensive but truly delivers outstanding results.

Living in Broussard, Louisiana, where the water is high in chlorine and calcium, has been a challenge. Initially, I approached Home Depot, but they were unable to help due to the absence of a local RainSoft dealer. Thankfully, RainSoft Corporate stepped in and connected me with a helpful dealer who efficiently installed the entire system. My home now has an outside carbon filter, water softener, and reverse osmosis system.
Using RainSoft has made my water much better for drinking, although the improvement wasn’t as large as I initially anticipated, probably due to the incoming water quality. Nevertheless, significant changes can be felt, with better water softness and less wear on home equipment.
I would rate the RainSoft company and customer service the highest, as they provided excellent support.

I would recommend RainSoft. The customer service was excellent, and their overall service quality deserves top marks. Regarding the cost, while slightly high, it's worth it for the benefits we’ve gained. I'm satisfied with our decision and look forward to continuing with RainSoft for our water needs.

I saw RainSoft Water Treatment Systems on the internet. The system has worked well so far, and I've particularly noticed an improvement in the taste and softness of the water. Although I need to replenish the salt, I've found that purchasing it from Home Depot is more cost-effective than buying directly. While everything with the system has been smooth, I did have a bit of confusion regarding the filter light on my refrigerator.

I'm not completely blown away by RainSoft Water Treatment Systems. But it is definitely a good product. It was a free service with Home Depot when we purchased a refrigerator. We got a gift card. So, we scheduled the guy to come out. It was interesting.
He showed us different things about the water. And it could have been gimmicky. But it definitely showed a difference between our water and the RainSoft product.
I've noticed that some of my personal care products don't work the same. I feel different with them now than I did before. My hair is a little greasier, and it doesn't work quite the same. So, I know that there is a difference in the water.
And I can tell from washing my hands or spending time at my house versus my parents' house. I was just there for four days. I can tell a difference in the water there. But as far as the cleanliness of our clothes or feeling different or any of that, I can't really tell.

The consultation process during the RainSoft purchase was excellent. The salesman was fast, but efficient in showing us the differences of clean water versus our water and city water. He was not boring, he was interactive.
Since the installation, we have definitely noticed the difference in the taste and our kids' skin conditions. Unfortunately, the major thing that we noticed was a drop in water pressure, which was discouraging. Also, every morning, when turning the faucet on, it's loud and obnoxious. I don't know if I would have put it in if I knew it would work that way. I called for RainSoft to come out and they said that the filter was installed backwards and they fixed that.

During a free consultation by Rainsoft Water Systems, the technician showed us how dirty our water was. He pulled up the official water test that the government does and explained what the problem was in our water. Since having the system, our water tastes better, it's no longer leaving the hard water stains, and our skin feels a lot better. When we had a problem with a part that started leaking, they were out the next day and had it fixed. They did everything pretty well, and I've been impressed with them.

We like our system. It definitely keeps the water clean. It's made a huge difference. The cost could have been a little cheaper, but it does work, and it gets the job done.
However people at RainSoft are not very good at getting back to you when you need something. They were supposed to have a technician come out. The guy calls multiple times to reschedule, giving all kinds of weird reasons for not showing up. So, they’re not reliable in that aspect. Other than that, I'd recommend them.

When we moved first week of April, one of the things we started to look at was getting softer water. I first heard about RainSoft in Home Depot, and then we got a whole home system from them. The results were impressive. I had no idea that water can be soften. There used to be a taste when you would turn on the faucet and that is gone. Then we did the reverse osmosis, so I no longer buy bottled water.
The technicians were very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They even explained everything step by step. The installation was done in less than two hours. We are very happy with it. We like the feel, what it does on clothes and on our skin. We like that we are able to drink more water too.

Would Not Recommend – Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish. While the salesperson who helped us was incredibly personable and easy to work with, they failed to mention one critical detail — that refunds are not an option under any circumstances, even if something goes wrong. This should have been made clear upfront. After the installation of our reverse osmosis (RO) system, the water remained cloudy. The installer’s response? “Wait a couple of weeks and it should clear up.” Seriously? Isn’t the whole point of installing a filtration system to have clean, clear water immediately?
On top of that, since the installation, our refrigerator’s water dispenser no longer works — an issue we never had before. And if that wasn’t enough, the “clean water” faucet they installed doesn’t even stream water properly — it spits it out in all directions, creating a mess every time we use it. When we reached out about these issues — on the second day — we were essentially told there was nothing they could do, and that we had to deal with the finance company. The contract clearly states a 3-day refund window, but now they’re claiming they don’t offer refunds at all. That’s not just bad customer service — it’s misleading and unacceptable. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company. The product didn’t work as promised, and the follow-up service was dismissive and unhelpful. Save yourself the hassle.
Thank you for making us aware of this issue, we apologize for any trouble this has caused. We spoke with our dealer in Virginia and they are working with the customer for a resolution.

Airmaster Ultra initially was a good system until it failed. The system has two electronic boards. The board that controls the UV and ozone failed. It was replaced but the germicidal light was not working. This was mentioned to the technician that the indicator LED did not appear to be illuminating like the other LEDs. Technicians stated this is not a problem. Checked this system a few months later and this LED was not working at all. Contacted Florida Energy water and air. Technician came out. I have problems fixing the system. This problem was yeah.
Not fixed under the warranty repair. Paid for a service call and the technician determined, there was a part that needed to be ordered. After several months wait, it ends up the part was never ordered. The part was then ordered and I had to pay for another service call. The technician never replaced the ordered part. He replaced the ribbon between the two boards and said. The system is now working. Checked it again two months later, and nothing was working. Determined, the system had not been reassembled properly, because there was a broken mounting screw. Basically, this system needs to be replaced.
Both boards and the ribbon cable had failed. The problem is both for quality of the system and even worse support by the Rainsoft independent dealer Florida Energy Water and Air. There is only one screw now holding the cover on the system. You get to pay every time a technique shows up and it doesn't do the repair. If you call the main office of Rainsoft, they will tell you, call the independent dealer and it's your problem. Deal with it. So don't depend on the headquarters of Rainsoft to resolve anything. Truly a buyer beware situation. Maybe Home Depot needs to look into their vendor.

We have the worst water here in Bolingbrook. We pay a fortune for it, and everyone says it tastes disgusting. A few years ago, we had our bathtub refinished, and it was snow white. Then all of a sudden, black streaks started running down it.
We picked up a water test from Home Depot, and they came out to do a full in‑home test. The guy said we had at least 10 contaminants in our water. So, we took the plunge and put in the full RainSoft system. We no longer have the black streaks down the tub. I had the whole house done, and I thought it was worth it.
I thought there would be some way to find out exactly what was in the water, but maybe I didn't catch it when the guy was here. They did say we were supposed to get all these free products. I finally reached out to RainSoft a couple of days ago and got the information. Yes, we can order the free products.
Most people would say, “You paid that much?” But after what I saw in my bathtub, and knowing I’m drinking and cooking with this water, something is clearly wrong. I’m not happy that I had to pay that much money when I’m already paying about $200 a month for my water bill, but I had to do something. It’s bad enough that the food we eat has so much junk in it. I got a RainSoft Water Treatment System because of the quality of my water. I knew I had a problem because there were several things in the house that indicated to me that there was a problem with my water. For example, inside my toilet, they were always black. Also, in the kitchen, the sink around the faucet where the water runs down just stayed gray and black-looking all the time. I'm a very clean person. The other thing was I love water, but I got to the point where I couldn't stand drinking the water coming out of my faucet. I lost my desire for water. So those were the three things. Then, when the representative came out and tested my water, even though I have a filter on my refrigerator for my ice maker, it didn’t even pass the test.
The area where I live is unincorporated within Fort Bend County, Missouri. I realized that some neighbors have butane gas tanks on top of the ground, so I assumed they probably have wells too. I never would have bought in the subdivision if I had known all of that when I was looking for my house. All the thoughts I had all along, combined with testing of this water, just brought it to life.
After getting the system, I don’t have that build-up in the kitchen around my sinks or faucet anymore. I never could get it clean before, and that’s gone. Even the toilet bowls are now clean. The taste of the water is different too, and I’m drinking water like crazy all day long. Also, I’ve noticed that my silverware now glistens when I wash it. Before, it always had a nasty look, probably because of the water.
The installation team did a great job. They were running a little behind schedule because the job before me took them considerably longer than they thought, but when they got here with me, they took great care. They finished in a timely manner and ran me through the system, and it was an awesome experience.

My father moved in with me recently, and I knew the hard water would probably not be good for him as well because he's 88 years old. My kids, I’d prefer for them to just be able to have nice water. It’s just something that I thought would be a good thing for my family. I have a little, especially with my skin. It's funny because usually I have to put lotion on my skin because my skin always gets really dry. And lately, I catch myself not even needing to put lotion because the water seems to leave my skin feeling soft and not dry, so it's been actually pretty satisfying to know that now I'm cutting down on certain things like my normal routine, having a morning routine that I hate doing. So it's kind of worth the extra money I'm spending because it's actually saving me a little bit of time on certain areas that I probably should be taking care of myself, and I'm not. The whole process of installation went perfectly fine. It went faster than I thought. The only issue was prolonging them to complete the installation, which was because of the rain that kept coming, so it was hard for them to put the drainage system in. So they have to come out and do the work twice until that second time, he had to work in the mud whether he liked it or not, because it was just like, “Just do it.” I felt bad, but everything just seemed to go smooth. I didn't find any kind of inconvenience or anything like that. It's exceeded my expectations. Granted, I'm still getting used to the whole feeling kind of slimy afterwards.

We’ve had RainSoft before and there is a difference in the water without a doubt. When you shower, your skin is softer. But I'm really frustrated with their salesperson who gave us the consult and signed us up. He said he would come back a week later to test the water. We were gonna be out of town, so I contacted him when we got back in town. He was supposed to come on a Wednesday. 10 minutes after he was supposed to be here, he texted me and said he was stuck two hours away from me.
He asked if we could do it the next day. I said okay, but he never showed up. I haven’t heard anything from him and I still haven't gotten my soap that I was promised. I really don't want to deal with him at this point. Also, I was under the assumption that we were supposed to get three gift cards, but we got one. We're supposed to get a $40 gift card from Home Depot for each piece that we purchased, and we purchased three pieces. Everything wasn't completed as it should have been.

It’s a massive difference having RainSoft. The water down here is very hard, it was making my wife's hair very brittle, making my daughter and wife's skin break out, and it was leaving large bits of sediment on the shower heads. Now there's no hardness to it at all. My skin feels different almost like it tingles. We don't have to use lotions and other products because it stripped all the bleach out of the water. It doesn't smell funny, it’s very pure, and it tastes clean. I like that RainSoft has a unique system that it can self-clean.
The salesman was a very nice gentleman. I've worked in sales and he did a great job. We did negotiate a lower price, and we reached the zone of proximal agreement, so we didn't nickel-and-dime him down to where he was getting bitter. The crew that came out to install it, our ground in Alabama, if you get an inch down, it's just clay, and they had to dig that system in, didn’t complain once, and they explained the system to me, so they did a very good job.
It is an expensive system, but I'm pretty fond of the wife and I'll try to remain in close and continued access to her physically as long as possible, and if I have to drop $8,000 on a water filtration system, I would do it. We both agree it was a lot of money, but it was very worth doing and we would do it again.

I'd heard of Culligan and some other types of brand names, but Rainsoft’s reviews were good. Our house is a new build and we've been in it for less than a year. One of the primary reasons we purchased from Rainsoft and had an interest in a full water soft system was because of the scale that builds up in our water that comes from the city. The scale which was visibly noticeable in our coffee maker and different places is gone. The dishes do appear to be cleaner, too. The system has done what I was hoping it would do. We have the RO part and we enjoy it. It's good. The price that we paid for the system was reasonable. We’ve also told relatives and non- relatives about Rainsoft.

I have a daughter who has autism and we were living in an apartment. We had a very scary experience where she had a rash on the back of her right knee, and it wasn't going away. I was told to give her a warm bath, which I did, but it kept getting worse and worse. It started spreading, and she was sent home from school. They didn't want her there and said it looked contagious, and it was a big thing. I then took her to the doctor. They kept giving her medicines and nothing was working. Finally, I get to the cancer place and they did a skin test. They gave her this really strong steroid cream. We then moved and changed from an apartment to a condo I bought. The rash started to go away. I was putting that medicine on her, and it made the rash go away.
I wanted to test the water with the condo, so I went to Home Depot. Once they put the RainSoft in, the rash went away. I looked it up online, like what it could be that would help her. I saw the test of the water, what's in the water, and what it does to you. I knew that's what it was. In that apartment, no matter what I put on her, it wouldn't go away. I also had some stuff going on on my shoulder. I recently had to go get medicine too, but it's gone. As soon as we came over here and got the RainSoft, the rash went away and she doesn't have it. I'm waiting to see if during the summertime it's gonna pop back out, because it usually happens during summer. But I'm very happy with it. My hair and skin are softer.
My daughter doesn't really drink water, but when we go to gymnastics class, I'll give her a little bit of water from our home, and she'll drink that. From other places, she won't. She can taste it. I also noticed the difference with my son. He has schizophrenia and would not drink the water. He was like, “I have to have bottled water.” When he saw the visual of the water after buying the system, he carries his water and drinks it, too. He had to see it to know. He was like, “There's something in that water. I'm not drinking it,” and he was right. There was chlorine in the water.
Also, when we make food, I feel the difference in how it tastes. It's a better experience. When they showed me the samples of how much chlorine is in the water. They showed it to me visually, and I'm a very visual person. I was like, “I get it now. I understand.” It made sense to me. The food wouldn't taste right, and my coffee wouldn't taste right in the mornings. It tasted as if the water was pushing it down. The coffee was like it was at the bottom of the cup, and you wouldn't taste it. It just tastes like water. Now, when I have the clear water, my coffee is good. I can drink instant coffee and I can taste the coffee. That's how I knew the difference between not having clear water and having clear water.
I'm a very clean person. I also have two dogs, so we have to clean the floor constantly. Dogs go in and out, so when I used to live in the apartment, I would clean with water, and it felt like it wasn't clean. You could tell the difference in the rug because I used the shampooer to clean it. Now I have a professional cleaner who comes and does that, but I can notice the difference in the cleaning and the water. When you use the water to clean, it's actually clean when I wipe down my walls and wipe down the bottom of the dust panels. My stairs stay clean, too. When you use the other water, it doesn't stay clean like that. It's crazy. I noticed the difference, and this is awesome.
I love my system and I’m gonna keep it. It's something that I can leave to my kids that's good for them. It's an investment for them. I do a lot for myself, but my kids mean everything to me. With them having clean water, I'm gonna cry. I wash my clothes and they stay clean, and with the food as well, that means everything to me. I don't know how other parents feel, but that's very important to me. My kids are everything to me and so Rainsoft makes me feel good. I'm happy with my product.

We’ve had RainSoft for about 16 years. Ours eventually stopped working, and they no longer had parts for it, so we had a new one installed. We’ve been very satisfied with it. My husband and I had the original system installed many years ago, and it saved us a lot of money on detergent and probably water heaters, since hard water can damage them.
Our water comes from the Western Water Company, and it’s very hard, so the system has really helped. When the old unit went on the blink, I called a company that came out from Columbus to service it. He fixed it the first time by replacing a single part, and it turned out to be something minor.
Anyway, I had it fixed. Then the next time it quit, I said, “Oh no.” I started seeing hard water deposits in my kitchen sink, so I knew something was wrong. When I checked the machine itself, it wasn’t using salt. That’s when I realized it wasn’t working.
We called Pure H2O out of Columbus, and they did a wonderful job installing the new system. We were very happy with it many years ago, and we continue to be very happy with it now. It’s a wonderful thing, and I would recommend it to anyone who has hard water deposits.
I know when we first moved here, we replaced our hot water heater twice in five years, and it was full of sediment from hard water. That just shows how much damage hard water can cause. I can’t even imagine what the water lines must look like.
I had wonderful service from RainSoft. The technician was very kind and explained everything that was going on. He tested my water and let me see it while he was doing the test. RainSoft does that. They’ll come into your home and do a free water test and show you how hard your water is. It doesn’t cost anything. You can call them, and they’ll send someone out to check it.
From the time we had our first RainSoft system installed, it saved us more money than you can imagine. You use about half the amount of soap. They even provided bar soap and laundry detergent the first time. It was amazing because you hardly used any, and everything still got clean. You use much less bar soap and shampoo, everything.

They came to the house to test my water. When I ask what the water was like the sales person I would not drink it never having a water system before came from city water. I figured we needed to get a system so I trusted him and it cost over 5000.00. Then when it came time to get new filters they told me it was over 300.00. I said no so at that time I had my water tested and it turned out to be fine. So don't do what I did and take their word for it. Have your water tested by someone else or yourself before you have any water system put in. If I had it to do all over there would be no system in this house...
We are sorry to hear you are unhappy. There are many benefits to having filtered water, even with city water. You are extending the life of all of your water using appliances by having a conditioner, eliminating lime and scale buildup. Your laundry is cleaner and softer. Cleaning is easier because you don't have any staining or buildup. To make sure you have the best water possible, we do recommend changing your reverse osmosis pre and post filters yearly, and your membrane every 2-3 years. Waiting to change your filters can cause them to crack or cause your system to plug up and stop working. In keeping up with changing your filters as recommended, the RainSoft Ultrefiner II is certified to reduce arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium (hexavalent and trivalent), copper, fluoride, lead, radium, selenium, total dissolved solids, turbidity, and many harmful VOCs.

A Home Depot employee approached me about water softeners and I was pretty sure I wasn’t interested. But I set up an appointment anyway. I told the rep when she got here that I probably won’t buy it but we did. She was really patient with us. One tipping point was it really wasn’t gonna go in our garage, and when we were teetering a little bit, she included the little enclosure for it.
The installer was overworked but was very good. When he finally finished it up, it was pretty late in the day. He gave me a lot of good advice about how to operate it and tend to the salt. One of the best pieces of advice he told me about the salt was to not add it until I can see a little bit of plastic in the bottom of the tank. People tend to add salt when they sit and go down a little bit, and eventually they end up with a rock in the bottom. He said to let it get real low, and then add the salt. So I thought that was good common sense.
Right after we bought it in January, we had a big freeze. Being a handyman, I put in a thermostatically controlled heat lamp in the little building, so we hadn’t done anything. I’m also a gadget guy, so the app keeps me notified of what’s going on. It’s all plumbed up and we’ve enjoyed it and think it’s a positive improvement.
The most positive thing about the RainSoft water softener is that the women in my house love it. I don’t think I could tell the difference, but they can. My wife said her skin is softer. I've noticed improvements since its installation in late December. Before we had the system, there were brown and slimy spots that are now gone, and my dishes are coming out cleaner. However, there's a bit of a white calcium buildup, which I've attributed to the very hard water in my area. The taste of the water was initially a bit unusual, but it is much improved.

When it came time for installation, a respectful group of young men completed the setup in under two hours and addressed all my questions.
Since the installation around October or November, I have noticed an improvement in the water quality. It took some time for the water softness to spread throughout the house. Initially, I noticed a strong, unpleasant odor in the water that contained alkaline. I'm unsure if this is normal or if there is an issue with the purification process.
In terms of system maintenance, I add salt regularly and the technician mentioned they'll handle periodic servicing every six months or annually. The installation process and the technician were satisfactory, as they completed the job on time and followed the plan correctly.
Overall, I'm still making up my mind about the system's effectiveness due to the lingering odor issue. Until I have more time to address this with RainSoft, I can't firmly recommend or criticize the system to others.
We appreciate being made aware of this issue. We have reached out to our distributor in Pompano Beach, Florida and have asked them to address this with the customer.

I first heard about Rainsoft from a family member. We decided to look into their systems due to some skin conditions a few household members were experiencing. The consultation process was seamless; I called Anderson Water and Heating, and they scheduled a representative to come out and test our water. The representative did a good job explaining the system, although it wasn't in-depth. The water testing results weren't surprising given our location, and we opted for a whole-house system.
Since installation, the water is noticeably softer and clearer, and we no longer have that white, crusty buildup. While the skin conditions haven't fully improved yet, we're hopeful with more time. Overall, my experience with Rainsoft has been excellent, from their professional and helpful service team to the clarity and quality of their product. Although the price was on the higher side, nearing $6,000, I still find it reasonably priced for the service and product quality. I haven't used their app to monitor our water.

I was previously familiar with RainSoft as I was a customer about 12 years ago. When my brother decided to have it installed, he referred me to them, and I decided to get their water treatment system again. My experience with the RainSoft representative was quite positive. He was knowledgeable and straightforward, making the interaction enjoyable.
I am satisfied with the system so far. I haven't faced any problems or concerns, and I've noticed the softness of the water after installation. As for maintenance, I haven’t had to do anything yet. I actually signed up for a service to have someone come out to handle the salt levels. When I checked about a month ago, the salt level was still high. My only concern is whether someone will notify me to check the levels or if it's my responsibility. I was advised to use an app that monitors the level, and I could contact the representative for more information.
On a recommendability scale, I would rate RainSoft highly. I believe it’s a good system for anyone interested in having soft water. I would recommend it to friends based on my positive experience.

I had previously used RainSoft in other homes, so when the sales representative approached me, it seemed like the right time to address our water quality needs. Their convincing pitch and familiarity from past usage led us to proceed with the installation immediately.

I recently purchased a Rainsoft water system featuring a carbon filter and a salt system. Before installing it, my water was noticeably different. Now, it's much softer, tastes better, and feels cleaner and crisper. I first heard about Rainsoft through a Home Depot survey, and they facilitated the installation process. The experience with the Rainsoft representative was pleasant. If I had to rate the system, I would give it a 4 out of 5. I recently got the water system from RainSoft, and their presentation really convinced me. The installation team was excellent, arriving on time and leaving no mess behind. I've noticed a significant improvement in the quality of our water. For one, the soap feels different, and our skin has improved. The drinking water tastes fantastic, and I'm very pleased with the product overall as it effectively gets rid of hard water and provides filtered water.
The only minor issue I encountered was with the installation. When the team left, the water was running on the side of the house. However, with a quick call, they were able to walk me through how to shut it off. Despite that, I'm very happy with the system and would rate RainSoft highly for their service.

After hearing about RainSoft at Home Depot, they sent a representative the next day to explain, and I liked the results. I liked to get the extra products, too. I got so many points that I could get liquid soap and cleaners.
I didn't care for my hard water. I wouldn't drink it. I don't use it for cooking. Now, when I get in the shower, the soap that I use makes it softer, and it feels so good after. After doing the dishes, your hands are not so dry and feel soft. The water's good to drink. It's nice and clear.
They just said I have to check the salt system every six months to a year. Add some more salt if it gets too low. There’s a little bit about the computer stuff, but they entered that on my phone, and I still don't understand that. I’ve already recommended it to my cousin, who stays in Florida and is interested in the water soft system.

When you walk into stores like Home Depot, you typically are trying to repair or improve the way your home looks, so it was a really smart way for RainSoft to have a little desk there. They asked me if I wanted my water tested and I said that’s a good idea.
It is very expensive, but Kelly was very dynamic and her presentation was done well. I have heard different things about our water system in my town and she did a really nice job giving us the information to do what we wanted to do.
The installers were on time. We knew who and when they were coming. It was very impressive, the way it was organized. They did a great job and were very professional, looking you in the eye when they spoke to you.
I noticed we don't have to use nearly the amount of shampoo in the showers, and less soap also, so I like that. The big difference in our drinking water is it tastes so much better. There’s no more chlorine smell or the odors that we had in there. I knew we had fluoride in there, too, and I could never smell that, so hopefully that is all gone. Even my husband, who thought the water was fine, noticed the difference in the taste and smell, so that says a lot.
The only issue I have is with the laundry because it's not cleaning as well as I think it should. I've had to wash something five or six times, and the stains are still not coming out. I hate that I’ve started doing smaller loads because my washer is one of those low-energy, low-water, high-efficiency ones and I can't add more water to it. That's the only thing that I'm not crazy about.

My water was terrible for years, which is why I got a water treatment system. The representative who came out was great. He explained everything. It’s pricey, a little over $9,000, but with the kind of water I had, I needed it, and it’s been worth the cost. My water was very hard with a lot of minerals. I used to have to change faucets every few years, but now it’s great.
Oh, my God. It's a big difference is huge. It’s the first time I’ve ever drunk water from the new faucet with the reverse osmosis system. Before, I was always buying water, and now I’m saving money. I love the system. You can take a shower and actually feel clean.
For anyone who needs a water system, I'd recommend RainSoft. The two guys who installed it were great. Everything with RainSoft went smoothly. The system feels like security to me because I know I can drink my water now, and my grandkids can drink straight from the faucet.
The installer was really helpful and explained everything, just like the first guy did. Whether they’re employees or contractors, whoever they were, they were great. When he finished in the pump house, everything was wrapped and insulated properly. They did a better job than I would have, and I work in construction.
We had about 12,000 points to use, so we ordered different soaps and things like that. I’m probably saving money there because we go through a lot of laundry soap with the grandkids around.
The RainSoft system was more expensive than I expected. I thought it would be around $5,000, but it ended up being a little over $9,000, and that was disappointing. Luckily, at 71 years old, I’ve saved my money.
My wife asked if I really wanted to do it, but she liked the product too. It was more than I wanted to spend, and I probably could have found a cheaper system locally, but I think it was still a good deal for me, and I’m satisfied with it.

I was just minding my own business walking through Home Depot when a representative came up to ask me some questions. We talked for a few minutes, he got my name and home phone, and that’s how I got to RainSoft. They got in contact with me and asked to come by to show me the product, so we talked for a little while. Someone came out and did a demonstration for me and my wife, and we were really impressed with the presentation and how they were showing us everything.
They showed us how the water tested with different chemicals and all the various additives in our regular water. It impressed me that the water we’d be drinking would be clear of all that, and the fact that we’d use much less product in the washing machine was a real kicker for my wife. Although we knew it was a bit pricey, and I think the price could be lower than what it is, we wanted better water, so we decided to take a chance and bought it.
Before the installation, they thought they might have to dredge my yard to put the lines in, which I really didn't want. However, when the installer arrived, he was small enough to crawl up under the house to hook up all his water lines and whatnot without having to dredge. That was a huge plus. For the upkeep, I purchased bags of salt from the company. The installer put six bags in to fill the system and told me that should last about six months. I just go out there and open the top just to look in and see how much is left.
It’s still new, so I’m still evaluating it, but I can tell the water feels a whole lot sleeker and smoother when I wash my hands. I’ve noticed my soap stays soapy much longer before it dissipates compared to before. Sometimes I can even smell a sweet scent when I’m washing my hands or when I put a bath cloth over my face. I really like that.

So when I called her, she called them and they brought out a new one. What I was thinking was that they wanted to do an installation and the person didn’t want it. I said I didn’t want to pay for one that somebody didn’t want. I wanted a brand new one. They came back and fixed it and brought a new one. The water taste better. I've owned a RainSoft system for 35 plus years. Well, I'm going to be a remarkable person, because I've owned the system before in three other homes. And this is my fourth home. I originally bought its softener and reverse osmosis system in 1989 and 1990.
Jared was very nice. He was the person I spoke to and dealt with at RainSoft. He must be the contractor there.
I also worked for a contractor for five years, and did service and some sales. I am an unusual person who has believed in a product for 35 plus years and has a sales and marketing background. I pick things I love, things that I know work well, things I can understand.
This particular product is the best in the market. Takes out 99% to 97%, depending on whether you have well water or city water, of all the contaminants in your water. So I'm a huge fan.
Some people might find it a little heavy to carry. The only way to get soft water is with salt. You can use potassium pellets if you like, but there isn't any other way to get soft water.
I bought my kids one, so I bought my family members a system. And currently, my daughter didn't get a softener, but she got a reverse osmosis for Christmas. That's what I gave her for Christmas.
I didn't have a TDS meter before. So I just ordered one. It will read you the total dissolved solids in your water before you take it out. But I can tell you that the chlorine content was extremely high. You could swim in that water.
It makes a difference. I've already talked to several neighbors. We have such high chlorine, so I just hope I can convince a few of my neighbors.

We had the RainSoft sales rep come to the house and give us a water test. I always had concerns with our water. It's something I’ve wanted to do.
The rep was very knowledgeable, professional, and to the point. And persistent. There's a couple of times we played phone tag, but we finally made our appointment. I bought the main unit so the water is getting treated from my main going into the whole house. I didn't believe in just doing something just under the sink. I wanted everything because I knew my water wasn't good. We see stains that build up. I've been in the house almost seven years, and like I said, it was something I wanted to do when I first moved in, but I didn't have the funds.
But I said, make this affordable and I definitely want to invest in it. It's a good investment for the house and for our health. I care about our health. And knowing what I find in the water filters and stains in my sink and the calcification around my faucets and all that, it was horrible water. And then when you think about it, it's going through your fridge and your fridge filter is still not filtering everything properly, and you're putting ice in your drinks and that's melting, and you're drinking that, it's not healthy.
Brushing our teeth and rinsing our mouths with the disgusting water started grossing me out.And then it’s still sitting in our mouths and we’re swallowing it. We’re ou're ingesting it no matter what. It grossed me out as I kept thinking about it.
We need RainSoft in our houses because our water treatment plant is not distributing safe water. There's so many contaminants in our water treatment I believe there's seven or eight contaminants that they still allow that they feel is safe for humans, and it's really not. That's why a lot more people are getting sick. It's sad.
I feel a lot better drinking my water right out of the tap now. I can brush my teeth with a smile, go to bed with a smile, knowing that I'm drinking nice, clean, filtered, treated water going through my whole house. It’s the best. My daughter's skin has been better. My wife's hair and daughter's hair are better. It’s good to everybody.
We could always tell the hard water is horrible. I’m very satisfied with the RainSoft system.

I just wanted purified water, so I looked into the RainSoft whole house system. During installation, they couldn't find where the water came into the house, and they dug in the wrong place for several hours until they said they were gonna start at my meter and dig across my yard until they found the source. And I said, “No. You get your guy out here.” They have a machine that will find where the line is.
And instead of getting him out here at the first, they dug all day in the wrong place because the lead guy wouldn't listen to the helper guy. And anyway, they dug all day, couldn't find it, finally gave up and went home, and came back the next morning, and brought the other guy. Within minutes, they had found where it went into the house without digging. And so I was very irritated with all that. But they got it done.

He did a good presentation, made a good point, and the testing was great. We did like the way the water tasted, so we went for it.
It’s working great. The water feels different from before. It feels more like I still have soap on my skin. He said it has something to do with the natural oils of your skin coming out. Also, the water tastes a lot better. We usually buy bottled water, but now we're getting away from it. We even bought some containers where we can put the water from the faucet and put it in the refrigerator, and it tastes great. Also, the refrigerator has a water dispenser and ice, and it now tastes a lot better and doesn't have the distinctive smell.
The upkeep of the system should be normal maintenance. You change the two filters on the osmosis system once a year, and you refill the salt dispenser before it gets too empty or as soon as it starts seeing water. Then, every three or five years, you’re supposed to schedule someone to come out and change the media on the actual filtration system. I have a few buddies at work who also have the RainSoft filtration system, and they’re satisfied with it.

He said that they must have given us a bill and didn’t realize it. But it didn't come until after it was overdue. So, we got an extra charge because we paid late. We were talking to the neighbor and we said that RainSoft is a good system. So, we gave the rep’s phone number.

Where to begin, super friendly staff, BUT! Had a 10k plus system put in at my home in the Bluff. When it was being installed, I asked if it would work having it installed outside because the control box (whole system really) looked less than robust. Inside they installed a free reverse Osmosis, came home day one and water was flowing from under my sink. They sent someone every other day and the leak never was fixed. Called my guy Barry Wirt at Triton Construction and he fixed it in about 10 minutes. I digress.
The system never has worked more than a week at a time. The control box was plugged in with a less than robust tiny wired box, it just so happens that the cord was draped across the boxes for cable and phone on the side of my house. The tiny cord became cut a bit (we don't know how it was cut) and the control box was never on for the first couple of months and the salt was staying at a high level. We tried calling and they came out and they repaired the wire with splicing and taping it instead of a new box and cord. They also replaced the box and showed me that it was up and running.
The box was burnt out more than one time, and it was replaced and they charged me 134.50 this last time they came out to replace it. They were again, very nice, but the system does not work. The box is out again after being replaced again back in September. I purchased this 10k + system through Home Depot, but Home Depot doesn't care about the deal. I paid the system off through a finance company AQUA FINANCE in 8 months, but I feel that 10k is wasted because I don't think the system is robust enough to be installed outside, which is very frustrating considering I was concerned of that on day one. Mind you, all the pipes were just PVC and exposed to the weather so I carefully insulated them with materials I purchased at Home Depot. We still never see anything on the control box after about a week when they replace it so we think as soon as they install a new control box it fizzles out in the weather dang near immediately. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

The water was terrible and smelled so bad here in Okeechobee. My mother was getting skin problems with the water for that reason. We started with a filtration, but it was not enough. It was only to drink water. But for the showers and all of that, we needed something better. So far, we are satisfied with the RainSoft product. It is really nice. The water is coming out pure and clean. It is softer. It smells and tastes better. I love it so much. We just need to order more soaps.
We got the single-tank product with the salt. The sales rep did a great job during the consultation. The guy explained everything. He was not greedy. He doesn't wanna sell the most expensive product. He choose the more convenient for us. He gave us the one for our budget. The installer is great. He did all the penetration of the hole perfectly. Everything was really good. He did all the connection. Hopefully, he can do a job for me extra because I need someone to put a similar hole for another thing I'm planning to do.

The sales consultation with RainSoft was very thorough. They went through several tests, which I knew how they were gonna come out 'cause I did this 20 years ago but I didn't get the system. But I was ready to get it now. They covered all the bases and I was ready to buy it. The rep did a very good job. I talked with him intensely several times and we negotiated where it goes and he also kept me in the loop. I liked the quickness that they were able to get it done and the quality of the water after they got through. My water felt soft and not rubbery.

I scheduled for RainSoft to come out and test the water. They showed up the next day, did the testing, and sold me on the system. I ended up getting the reverse osmosis mounted up in the sink. Over at the tank, I got the system that cleaned up the water. They also insisted that I get the bleach injection and carbon filter afterwards to help with some other bad particulates in the water. I had a follow-up and a guy came out and tested my system. He said it wasn't doing what it should be doing. It can do better so he changed some settings. They're gonna come out and change one of the medium filters. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

We have very hard water where I live and I just recently had my home remodeled and that includes having water lines replaced. I wanted to make sure that they were working as well for as long as they could. The installation was very easy and the RainSoft system has been working well. I’ve noticed the differences in the taste of the water because I have reverse osmosis as well. I've had nothing but good experience with RainSoft so far.

I went into Home Depot and they scheduled me with a salesperson and I purchased the RainSoft system. I've always been concerned about the crap that our government is putting in our water and I wanted to make sure that I had good water. The community I live in has its water system and it wasn't great, but it was okay. When I got the new water in, I was beyond thrilled. I have a kitty cat that has intestinal problems and once we took the nitrates out of the water that he drinks, he has had zero problems. I have to call RainSoft once a year and they come out and change the filters and make sure everything's A-okay. People better get the system. The price came out where I thought it would be.

We’ve had our RainSoft system since ’92 but we just got an upgrade. It was great. The guy was wonderful and fast. He did a water test and our water wasn't too bad, which was nice to know. We can call RainSoft if we need help and they will come or send somebody. The last time, a nice gentleman came when we had problems. The system finally failed and we waited a couple of years before we got a new one. But it was a refurbished one. The guy who sold it to us saved us a lot of money.

Purchased whole house system with drinking water filters and "CleanStart" laundry system. I feel the cost for routine maintenance is a little high and the "cleanstart" does a good job but the "cleanstart" unit required a lot of repairs. Several repairs to "cleanstart" system including full internal replacement was done under warranty. We were absent when warranty expired and on return "cleanstart" wouldn't work. Not worth paying to repair "cleanstart" system again and not sure parts are available.

I would like to update my comments on rain soft. I had had a lot of problems. They sent a check out free of charge to try to resolve them. I asked him to do something that I felt needed to be done. He didn't do that twice. The problem continued the third time. I called they told me it would be $200. But after I talk to the manadear, she sent someone out no charge and he resolved the problem. I have recommended them to 3 new neighbors that moved in the area. I'm happy with my system. And now I'm happy with the technician that comes out.

Dedra Their customer service rep is worthless. She basically told me to take care of it myself. And would charge me $200 for him to come and fix the problem. The problem started when he changed the outside filter for over $400. Salt bridge was still there and when I let all the salt run out to the bottom like he told me to. That's when I hit the salt bridge. Deidre wanted to charge me two hundred dollars for him to Fix the first time.
Now I've been told to carry out five gallons of warm water to melt the bridge myself. I am sixty eight years old. I've had two shoulder replacements And two hip replacements. Do not use this company They do you right the first few years, but after that, they charge for everything, even if it's the system that screwed up or the tech like in my case that screwed up. Like I said, do not buy a Rainsoft system They do not back their product and they charge you for everything, not worth it. My water isn't even soft. They test it. They say it shows everything's okay and it's soft. I've had water systems And softeners for over 25 years. I know soft filtered water and what it feels like when you shower.
The customer's issues were addressed last week by her local RainSoft dealer. The prior service call was in May, so that is why the customer was quoted a service charge. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused.

A rep from Safe Step came out and did a presentation of the system and how good it could get, and I was very impressed with it. My wife and I sat down and talked about it, and we instantly said to go ahead and do it. We were hoping the system would help clear my wife's problem of itching all the time, and it's lessened the itching. We're enjoying the system. We have a well water and we were always getting dirty water and having to boil water. Since we went with RainSoft, I'm drinking more water. The water is so much cleaner. Every time I talk about RainSoft, I don't have anything but good praises.

I took a survey at Home Depot then RainSoft contacted me to test the water. The guy showed up on time and was very polite and professional. He did the test and told us it was gonna be 45 minutes to an hour. He put us at ease and it was very comfortable. He told us about the program and what it did and also about the supplies and other things that we can get from RainSoft.
The water testing was very interesting. What we found in the water when he did the test, even the filtered water coming out of the fridge, was enough for the wife to go ahead and purchase it that night. He tested the bottled water, our sink water and our filtered water in the fridge. When he added the soap to them, the filtered one that he did through his system was better and smoother. The other one didn't have much soap in it at all. He brought up the point about the washing machine. A lot of stuff don't get cleaned and the soap just goes away. He even added more soap to that one and shook it up but still, the soap went away.
The installer who came out was very young, but you don't catch the politeness and the way that he acted and handled himself by being in our home. This is very rarely seen from somebody his age in this generation. Since we've had the system, the water is softer. The pinkness in the tub and around the toilets is no longer there, which would be the bacteria that would grow every 21 days. The clothes seem to be better smelling now because the soap's working. We also got the water filter for the sink and we use that on a daily basis to fill up just about anything.

The first time I heard of RainSoft was in Home Depot and they were recommended for the water condition that I had. The rep who came out told me he was the owner of the company for 30 years and then, he retired. He was fantastic in his solution and diagnosis of the problem. We had an iron problem, which turned my wife's hair orange, and the fellow said there were two types of iron I could have and we had both. So, he recommended the peroxide iron system. It works fantastic. Every couple of months, you gotta add peroxide and the salt for the softener. But that's to be expected with any system. A couple of months into it, it’s fine.
The water is very soft. RainSoft was right on the money on what they did and how they fixed the problem. I hope it's what it is. But we don't have the heavy iron or hard water anymore. The water is super silky and soft on your skin. I'm not happy about the water pressure but that could be something different. As far as the quality of the water, it's excellent. I had a great experience. The system is on the higher end of the price range but it's worth it.

When the sales guy came in, he was very knowledgeable. He took us through a few different tests to show what was in the water versus what the product will do to remedy that. He was very knowledgeable in pricing and options and what each add-on would do and the price points would be. So, all in all, it was a good experience on the sales end. But the installation was not as smooth. They did a good job. However, they didn't plug the unit in or program it. So, that was discovered on round three when the finance guy came and had to do a brief inspection. It was unplugged, and so he couldn't really reprogram it. We had to go through a whole thing to get it reprogrammed. But now, it's great. It’s churned along. It's a big budget item but the quality is fantastic. The machine basically runs itself, so there's very little that I have to do. I gotta replace the salt within the year. But all in all, I'm really, really happy with how it's functioning.

RainSoft is a good product. The water is really good. Taking showers is much better than before. They said that there was chlorine in it and when you take a shower, you feel like the water is bouncing off. It was hard. So, it got softened from the salt and everything else that RainSoft did. They told me to put salt in it every six months and to get it from Home Depot. And then, I have to see how much salt is needed. The first time I do, it's gonna be a little different. And then, the filters have to be changed out. They're gonna send it. When they send it, I know how to turn the knob and get those small filters out that are under the sink. As a matter of fact, some guy who came to fix the refrigerator saw that we had the water system and he tasted the water and he was like, "Oh, my God. I want this."

My experience with RainSoft has been a little shaky. The salesman did a great job pitching us the RainSoft product and hardware installation. He really sold it. But the tank that holds the salt has a surplus of water in it. They've already had to change out the salt rocks in it, which we were told that we wouldn't have to change them out for a few months. My parents also have a RainSoft system. They had it installed about four weeks before us and their salt is barely below half. So, essentially, we thought we will be saving money with the system but we're gonna have to buy these bags of salt every four weeks. We called to get it serviced. The guy came and serviced it. But it's still just filling up with water to the brim. So my experience has been an okay to not okay.
We never replaced the salt, so we feel the customer may be confused on that part. According to the service notes from last month, the customer had a power outage during regeneration. The technician cycle checked the unit and all was working properly. The unit regenerates based on how much water is used so every home will be different as far as salt usage goes. We have a lead tech scheduled to go out to look at the unit again in hopes of finding the issue with why the unit is not drawing the brine correctly.

My in-laws had RainSoft in their house and they really enjoyed it. When they moved, I bought the system off them and had the company move it to my house. I used to use a Brita filter when drinking, and I noticed that it's a big difference with RainSoft. The water is much cleaner. I'm happier with it because I feel safer drinking it, and I drink more of it because of that. Also, my wife has got long hair and she enjoys having the system as well.
RainSoft is very pricey though. If the prices dropped a little bit more, RainSoft would have a lot more people interested in it. I had the older system and upgraded to the newer system a few months ago. It took me a long time to do that because I had to spend an additional $3,000 to get that upgrade. But now that I've upgraded to the newer system, it's nice that the app tells me when to put in salt in it.

I went into Home Depot and looked at their other systems. For most of them, you can buy them and have them installed yourself. But with RainSoft, they come out and show you the product. They tell you how much it is and I was able to get it from there. It was less if I bought the system at a Home Depot or Lowe's. But sometimes how they get you is the installation. RainSoft's selling point was I didn't have to pay $14,000 all at once. I could break it down and pay it off as I wanted to or pay more to pay it off. That really helped me.
With the RainSoft system, in the shower, I noticed a difference where I'm still trying to rinse my hands off and all the soap is gone, but it leaves that moisture in your skin. I also have a designated little valve faucet for drinking water. The water tastes the same but they said the system helped with aging of my pipes because that hard water is not running through my house and that's usually what messes up pipes. The RainSoft system is worth getting. My parents took a shower at my house and are gonna get RainSoft for their house next year.

The rep called me and said they would like to come and test the water. I told my wife and she said we were just gonna collect the $50 gift card. The rep is gonna try and sell us but we’re not gonna accept it. But RainSoft sold itself. The water test was bad to where my wife said we have to do something about it. The rep was informative. He educated us well more than we already knew about soft water and hard water.
The installer did the installation in the morning and we flushed everything out and ran the bath water for 20 minutes on both sides. So, we already started getting soft water. We filtrated the filter in the osmosis system that same day and we got everything running clean. The installers weren't there long but they did everything that I asked for and more. I have grass in the backyard and I asked them to keep that hard water as well as the spigot in the front yard. They were able to manipulate my lines to where my front yard and backyard still get the hard water and the rest of the house gets the soft water, which was great. We've had the system for about three months now and it’s helping with my daughter's eczema.

The presentation done by RainSoft’s rep made us decide to go with them. The system runs smoothly and the water is night and day when you have the system in place. There is no change in the water pressure inside the house and the water is crystal clear, like it should be. It tastes different as well. My eczema got better and my skin is softer. It's like having lotion on it. Sometimes it feels that way and looks more hydrated than before. I'm gonna keep the system as long as it keeps working fine. There is a very low maintenance required. It’s just adding more salt when it's below 20% and there is a tune-up that we have to do every year.
