When I bought the house, it had a RainSoft system in it already. Then I had to add to it because of the conditions of the water in my area. I had to do the upgrade, and that was expensive though they claimed they did a reduced rate. I'm lucky enough I could afford it, but I wish they could do a more reasonable price. But having the system, I'm not getting the spotting in the shower doors, and the water tastes cleaner.

Worst company I have ever had to deal with. I bought a system years ago and have had decent water for periods of time but nothing long term without multiple visits to our home. Now the dealer/ distributor that installed the system says they no longer service our area. The new company just complains that they didn't install the equipment? Thousands of dollars wasted, tons of time and my tubs, toilets and other appliances are ruined from the water? Buy somewhere else!!!!

Response from RainSoft Water Treatment Systems

We reached out to the RainSoft dealership in Hickory who provided us with the following information: Up to this past year there hasn’t been any real issues with the customer’s system or with servicing it. We would like to clarify that we do still service this area, but has chosen not to continue servicing the customer due to being threatened with a lawsuit. We converted the customer’s existing system to a chemical free system a few years ago, which in doing so now takes a special resin which is not regularly used. It is necessary to replace this resin from time to time, which we ask for prepayment in advance. We asked the customer several months ago if they wanted to proceed, but never received a response. At this time we’re unsure what the lawsuit is regarding, and therefor feel it would be best that the customer have someone else service his system.

    Regards.

A very knowledgeable individual from RainSoft came out and tested our water. She was fantastic. She showed us all the good 360 products that we could potentially get with the package. She also showed us all of the different packages that they have. It was a great experience. We bought the reverse osmosis system in the kitchen, and we received it in the latter part of January. It was a somewhat of a discounted rate. Now, water tastes great. It's softer too. We're glad we did RainSoft. Others should try it. We already have a list of people that we’re going to refer to RainSoft. They told us that our system would be paid for if six of the 10 people on our list would purchase as well.

The sales team was very knowledgeable and they showed us what they could do to help us. We got the filtration system and the sink one from RainSoft. The first time the installers came out, they were trying to install it inside, but they couldn't. So, they had to come back and trench it because it was a little bit more tied up than it should have been. Since having the system, we've definitely noticed the difference in how our skin feels. Even my daughter, who came up in December from college, noticed a difference just in the month she was there. It's been a good experience, and it's made our skin and our drinking water much better.

A guy at Home Depot came and talked to me about RainSoft. They took my name and number, and then someone called and came out to do a presentation. One of the people who came talked very fast, but we got through it and understood the basics. He mentioned some products, but I didn’t receive any paperwork stating what they had to be able to use their products.

The system that I got covers the whole house and is located in the utility room. We also have a reverse osmosis system for drinking water in the kitchen. The water tastes wonderful, and I drink a lot of it. The system has been in place for about two months, and I use less soap now when I do the laundry. RainSoft is great and people should not wait another day to get it. The only minor issue was that we were told there would be one tank, but three were installed. But that’s okay. The price is very good, and so was the guy who put it in. He was very honest, knew what he was doing, and checked everything for leaks.

We have had a Rainsoft system for a month now. The quality of our water is amazing. The ozone laundry system cleans my husbands dirty work clothes in cold water with practically no detergent. I’ve always been a hot as possible water person for the laundry until now. I’m amazed. We are very happy with our system and the company we got it from has great representatives and installation personnel. Very pleased.

We got RainSoft through a broker and the consultation went very well. They came and did a very full and complete review of what they do and the quality of the water that we'd be working towards. The equipment I checked online is one of the better ones as far as RainSoft is highly regarded. We got a one-tank conditioning system and had a salt filter hooked up to the entire home.

The installer was terrific. The installation was done in one day and it was very neat and in a very good area. We don't have to look at the system when we go out of the door. Some of the people next door have the system and we come out our door and it's right there on the side of the house. Ours is behind our fence and well hidden from sight. We're very pleased with where it is.

We had a good experience with the installation and the maintenance. We had one period where, locally, they stopped the water and worked on the pipes and we had some air in the lines. They came out immediately with the request about the air in the lines, and they satisfied that. That was under warranty and it was very solid. Once we ran the water for 10 minutes, everything was back to normal and everything was fine. We've had a good experience since then.

The water is very good quality and we're very confident with what we're getting. It's definitely different. We use a lot less soap when cleaning. Even showering takes less shampoo. The softener and conditioner systems are good products, and I'd recommend RainSoft. They were very informative, professional on all fronts, and very accommodating to our requests and our questions. It was a very good experience.

It's doing what it's supposed to do. They told me the only thing I have to do is put salt in it when it goes low, but the technician told me that I probably won't have to put any salt in about a year.

A woman in Home Depot asked me to do a water survey. She said, “You could win a $25 gift card if you do this survey.” So I did, and RainSoft called me and said, “You won the gift card, and if you agree, we'll send somebody out to talk to you about how to improve your water.” We set up a date and the rep called ahead to make sure I was at home. He came out and he did a fabulous presentation.

I got the whole-house filtration system and I also got the alkaline water on my kitchen spigot. The installers were very professional. They called ahead of time to tell me they were coming, explained what they were gonna do and cleaned up all their mess.

The water now tastes so good. I also like to swim at the gym and exercise, but I've stopped doing that because I don't wanna shower there. I wanna shower at my house with good water. And then RainSoft gave me a bunch of household products. The soap is just wonderful. I've been using the laundry detergent. It's excellent. The only thing about the laundry detergent is I wish it had no scent. It has a very light scent, but I've got a tenant who stays at my house when I'm not there and she's allergic to any kind of perfume or any kind of scent like that. But she loves the water.

The sales person comes out two weeks after they set it up and tests my water and shows the improvement, which is wonderful. It seals the deal. RainSoft is such a very sharp put-together organization. I was very impressed. Usually, when I spend a lot of money like this and write a $10,000 check, I get buyer's remorse and get nervous. But I got none of that with this system. I was so excited to have it and I just feel really good about it. It's a wonderful system.

The water is definitely a lot softer versus it was a little bit harder. I can tell the difference on my skin. I suffer from eczema and that's helped it a lot. The reverse osmosis, the drinking water portion of it, I can taste the difference in the water from bottled water that we used to buy and even with the regular filters that we used to have.

We’ve been in this house for 10 years now. The faucets’ cartridges started dripping and they determined those were getting clogged from the minerals. I feel the towels and the laundry are getting really rough as well. My husband went through Home Depot. He researched quite a bit and he talked to a few companies and he settled on RainSoft. We also have a neighbor who has the system and they absolutely love it.

My husband’s happy, so far. I'm not finding a big difference in laundry, which concerns me a little. I expected some big difference of softening. But I'm happy for the RO drinking because we all have health issues. The people were also polite and efficient and they did a lot of redo outside. We had a lot of masonry and rock and they replaced everything and that was all fine. We would rate them excellent in everything.

What sold us was they told us that if we get this whole-house water softener system, it would help us maintain our plumbing in better condition. And, it is so true. I’m very happy with it. It was pricey. It was one of those big ticket items you get, but it pays for itself.

They also gave us some products that we could use, like for cleaning. They also said we would be using less detergent and it’s been true. The less detergent you use, the longer your machine and equipment will last. All around, it's been great for our appliances.

We purchased the water softening system and the laundry system from RainSoft. My youngest son has a little eczema on his leg and we were treating it with a cream. But since we put the system in, we have not treated it with the cream at all and it seems like it's going away. My hands used to be really dry and cracked, especially in the winter, and I haven't been using lotion this year and they're not nearly as bad as they usually are.

I also like that you can't smell it. We used to have a well and it was sulfur water. We could drink it, but you could smell it. And then, when we changed to city water, you could just smell a lot of bleach in it and it was just hard. So when we changed to RainSoft, it's a lot nicer, it tastes and smells better. I'm really glad we did it.

Even our interactions with the sales rep was great. He was very informative. And everybody that we interacted with during installation, was all great. They went over, explained everything, made sure we understood before they left, and made sure we didn't have any other questions. I'm very pleased.

The company that sells RainSoft is also the one that put the generator on my house. I'm familiar with their company. I trust the company that reps it. I needed to have somebody reliable that I was going to deal with. We have terribly hard water and the only way to combat that was to get a system. I started looking into water conditioning and I was doing some research when I was called. The rep asked if I would like to have a salesman come out. He came out that day and his demonstration was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and he answered my questions. The fact that I had been researching about getting a system made it easier for both of us. I purchased the water system right when he was here. Although, I do realize, as only being one person in this house, that the system won't pay for itself. If it was a large family, I can see where it was.

RainSoft has only been installed a month and I've noticed a great difference. I was having an issue with toilets being cleaned. You could clean them in the morning and go back in the evening, and it looked like a public restroom. It was horrible. That was a major difference. Also, my skin is so much better.

RainSoft was very supportive, accommodating, and consistent in calling, so I didn’t feel like I had to juggle the responsibility of scheduling the sales visit. It was pretty straightforward. The sales consultant was experienced and very polished. He was awesome.

The guy who came to install the system was a professional and prompt. He was articulate, and easy to talk to. He showed me where everything was, what I needed to do when certain light indicators come on, and how often I needed to refill, and so on and so forth.

Our skin feels a lot less dry, definitely softer now. Before having RainSoft, the water felt really hard on the skin, and dried the skin out, so there was a lot of itching and discomfort. We don't have that anymore. It seems like the water moisturizes the skin because of the lack of chemicals. It’s a more enjoyable to drink. It gives us assurance knowing that we've got better quality water and not feel like we're drinking a bunch of chemicals that could be potentially hazardous to us or the house long term.

I live in Cincinnati and the city water is horrible. We thought we were doing our best to filter out all the crap and we were considering a whole house filter. RainSoft came and did some tests on our water. Our water was horrible even after we had already been filtering it out. We had a rating of 40 or 50. The sediment that came out of the water when they put the stuff in the water was disgusting. I was like, “I'm drinking that. I'm giving that to my dog and my kid.” We proceeded with what RainSoft was offering. We got the whole house filter and water softener.

RainSoft was excellent and they weren't pushy. They came in and explained everything to us, including the test. We watched it in real time right in front of us. They answered any questions we had. Because of our schedule, we were able to get in contact with the installer ourselves and set up a date when we knew we were gonna be home and we would take care of it. Usually, once you purchase the system, they install it within 48 hours. The system is a two cylinder type thing that sits in the garage by the water heater. The installers piped it all in and did everything for us.

RainSoft also allowed us to make the decision to get our tankless water heater because with this system, it extends your warranty on the tankless water heater. You don't have to flush it and do all the crap that you're supposed to do to it once a month because the system is doing it for you before it even goes into the hot water heater. The installers helped us install that with the piping, no questions asked. They were phenomenal.

With RainSoft, I feel cleaner. I'm using less soap to do anything because my soap actually lathers up now. Overall, it has been wonderful because now I know I can drink water from my tap and not have to worry about getting all the gunk and junk that I thought I was filtering out. RainSoft is a no brainer. You get healthier and cleaner water. The company itself and the people that work for the company were amazing for us. They were just there to answer questions. All you gotta do is let somebody come in and do a water test.

The RainSoft reverse osmosis UFII and *UF Elite system has one of, if not the most comprehensive certifications in the industry (NSF 42, 58, 401 and certified to CSA B483.1 standard, and *also certified for PFAS and microplastics). All of our UF products are certified for contaminant removal by either the NSF, or WQA. Please refer to the owners manual for a comprehensive list of contaminants treated.

In order to maintain the quality of the filters and its ability to remove the contaminants that it has been tested for, we have to be sure replacement filters cannot be substituted by a cheaper, inferior product. The NSF/WQA testing/certification process is expensive and therefore the overall cost of these filters will be significantly higher than something customers can buy on line. By providing proprietary filters, you can be assured you are providing your family with the finest drinking water available. I wanted a change in my water system because of the hard water we have here in Virginia. The water would leave chemical deposits, magnesium, and calcium on the ends of anywhere the water came out. I purchased a RainSoft water softening system and had it installed in the garage. It was very easy for them to hook it up. I also took their reverse osmosis system that's under the sink that gives reverse osmosis water through the kitchen sink faucet. I'm very satisfied with the quality of the water that comes out of both the water softener and the reverse osmosis system.

RainSoft offers a very good, sound system, but it is a little on the costly side. However, it needs minimal upkeep as in putting salt in the tank. RainSoft provided 240 pounds of salt to build the unit, and since my wife and I are the only people in this house, it's gonna take us about six months or maybe even longer to even replace that product. We have to refill it each time it empties, not as it goes down. So, it's gonna take quite a bit of time for that salt to go through the system and go away.

A representative from RainSoft spoke to us about their product while we were shopping at Home Depot. We were already looking into a couple of different systems because we were interested in having our water tested to see if we needed it. We had hard water spots on the shower doors, so we thought we had an issue. We’re way out in the country and weren’t sure of the quality of our water.
So when the representative approached us and said there was a free opportunity, that they’d even come way out to where we lived to test our water, go through it with us, and present water soft, we decided to go ahead and do it. The representative came out and did the water testing and showed us the condition of our water. He did different chemical tests and left us with a sample. Basically, we just had a lot of gunk.
We went with the water softener system that does the whole house. Then we also went with the reverse osmosis drinking water system and faucet on the kitchen sink. Since then, the water’s been great. We had been using a ZeroWater system for years because we didn’t like the taste of our water, and neither did our animals, even before we moved out into the country. What the ZeroWater system was doing for us was the same thing as reverse osmosis, which we didn’t know. So we love the reverse osmosis. It is fantastic because we don’t have the continuing filter replacement, which had been getting to be more and more of an issue as the filters weren’t lasting as long. To be able to go and fill up your pans of water when you’re cooking is a huge plus for us. It’s something I wasn’t able to do with the small filtration systems. You just can’t boil your pasta. You don’t have enough water. So we like that, yes.

We told our friends and neighbors that we’re very happy with RainSoft. We really like the product, and I recommended them.

When we bought our house in Maryland, there was already a RainSoft system installed, but it wasn’t hooked up. We had the local dealer come out and hook it, and the system ran for a couple of years. Eventually, the neutralizer and the control system on top stopped working. Since the tanks are lifetime tanks, we decided to just put new heads on top.

We knew something was wrong when the toilets started staining again and the water pressure in the house wasn’t as strong. The neutralizer was holding back the water. Once that was fixed, everything went back to normal and the toilets are now clean. For upkeep, the only thing I have to do is put salt in the tank and log how many pounds I added in the app. The app is nice because it shows a graph of how much water and salt we’re using.

Overall, RainSoft is very good and the cost is not that high. We also have their reverse osmosis system, and there’s never any pressure to do extra services or filter changes. If we decide not to do something, they will wait till the next year to do it. They're very professional and they regularly send reminders when it’s time for our yearly service.

In 2024, I visited Home Depot, where a salesperson approached me and offered a “free water testing” service. They said they were partnering with Home Depot and could book an appointment for me. I agreed. A representative later came to my home with testing equipment, ran a quick test, and told me that my water was “very dirty” and unsafe. They insisted I needed a water filtration system, which they called a “plant,” costing $10,000. They assured me that I wouldn’t have to pay the full amount upfront — just small **monthly payments for three years with no interest. Based on that promise, I agreed.

However, after a year, when I contacted UEI Financial, I was shocked to learn that interest had been charged from the beginning — at 4.9%. Now, after two years of making payments, I was told that I still owe $9,888, meaning my payments so far have mostly gone toward interest, not the principal. This feels like a complete scam and very misleading. They took advantage of trust and misrepresented the terms of the purchase. It’s shameful that such deceptive practices are linked to a reputable store like Home Depot.

I asked for a better system than my other one because I'm on borrowed time. I'm 91 years old and none of my kids would be taking over the house. This is a double-wide trailer, considering the fact that it's a three-bedroom, two-bath situation–it would be a case of being able to sell it. And it's certainly the kind of place that, if they want them on a softener, they'd want one big enough to handle what was needed. I know the price was high, but I expected that, knowing that I was going for a bigger system.

I had known a lot about water softeners because I've had one for years. There was a lot of repetition in the presentation as far as I was concerned, but it was very well done.

The water's about the same. But it appears as though RainSoft will use a lot less salt because of the fact that it apparently operates on the basis of how much water I use, whereas the other one did it on a time factor. I seldom drink water but I'm pleased that it has a separate salt container as opposed to an all-in-one. If it did need cleaning, it was a lot simpler to do.

I didn't notice until the man who did the installation left–the drain for when it would replenish itself went underneath my shed. I had commented about that when they called back a couple of days after to see if I was happy. I said I would much rather have that go over where the other one did I would like that changed. I also said that there's no rush on it, because from the usage that I do, it would take quite a while before it would breach.

I first heard about RainSoft in Home Depot. I went with them because of the testing they did and what they showed me. The system was installed on our vacation home, and everything seems good. They told me that the flavor of the water might be a little different, but I did not taste anything different. It tastes good.

I am so disappointed in myself for spending all this money on a RainSoft system. They tell you it has a lifetime warranty. I have never been happy with the system and have had them out several times. I still have hard water rings in the toilets and around sinks. I got the system 3 years ago and now it has totally stopped working. They are overpriced and it still uses salt.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The RainSoft dealer in Bakersfield spoke with the customer yesterday and clarified the warranty with her. Our dealer noted that according to her service history, they have only charged for filter changes and a carbon exchange in the whole house filter. The customer is currently waiting for a part to arrive and was under the impression she would have to pay a second service call when the part arrived, which is not the case. Our dealer will be seeing the customer tomorrow to complete her service.

My son told me about RainSoft. I gave them a call the other but it got by me and I finally got it installed this year. The installer was very personable. I had a water softener but the biggest initial change since having RainSoft is from the iron filter that they installed in line with the water softener. The water doesn’t have a smell and there’s no rust anymore. I was extremely happy with it.

I had a reverse osmosis system installed. I know the whole house system was gonna be expensive, but I was going to do it regardless. I know other people have the same issues that I do and I would recommend RainSoft.

I heard about Rainsoft from two friends who also use the same company and the same system. The rep’s visit was very good. It was very thorough. It was the same person that also serviced my two friends who recommended them. It was nice to have that consistency. That was reassuring.

I recently purchased this home. They did have a system with another company as part of our home inspection. I asked for that to be fully checked and serviced. They gave it a clean bill of health. However, every toilet in this house looked like a 7-Eleven toilet. It had hard water buildup where you had to use a pumice stone to scrape it clean.

It had green and rust-colored staining all in the bowl and the sides in the bowl. And the reason I didn’t use that company was because they were pissed when I called to have them pick up their stuff. You should not have toilet stained like a gas station toilet if the system was working properly. They lost my business because they acquiesced to the seller who did not want to pay to fix it right. I paid to replace seven toilets because they were stained beyond saving.

I have a water softener, iron filtration, and I have a black light. I’ve already recommended my mother in Pennsylvania to reach out to RainSoft. She lives in a very rural area. The RainSoft representative would have to come from 30 minutes away but he said he will so I’m very happy. I also had RainSoft in my previous home and it was very good.

I use Waterboy for my Rainsoft system. I’ve had the water tested and my retest after the black light was failed. It kept getting lost and they had to keep coming out so one of the customer service girls at the office came to get the test to make sure it gets to where it’s going. Waterboy here in Virginia has outstanding customer service.

Our water softener system went out and we were in a bind and needed something. We called our neighbor, who we knew had a system too, and he recommended RainSoft. They're not very well advertised, but maybe if I had taken time to Google water softeners, they might have popped up. I didn't do that though. Our neighbor was familiar with RainSoft and they were local, though that was not really an issue.

We called RainSoft and the gentleman was in the office at the time. It was about 5 o'clock and we were desperate 'cause we really wanted to get our system fixed. It was from another company. The gentleman's office is at least three hours from us, and he said, "If you guys are still up, I can come by there when I get done here, probably about 9 o'clock." We said, "Fine." So, he came by, and he sold us because he demonstrated a lot of things about the water and the system and what it does. Our RainSoft system works much better than our old system did.

The company that's doing the install is on their game.

I also had a guy come out this last week to double-check everything was working right, to test my water again to make sure the soft water system was set right, and to make sure it was working efficiently. It was all good. They've been great to work with, and the system seems to be working well. It's just a water softener involved with that, but my wife likes it and I do too. The water tastes good and I don't have that chemical smell in my shower anymore. It's all working out well.

RainSoft is awesome and it's worth it. I wanted to be able to drink water from my refrigerator. Even though I had a new refrigerator and it had a brand new water filter in it, the water still used to come out not good, so I didn't drink it. Of course, the water in the faucet wasn't good as well, so I used to buy water. I got RainSoft's filter on the house and told the man about the refrigerator. He said, “Don't worry, ‘cause when we hook this system up, that water is gonna start coming out that refrigerator tasting good,” and it does. I love the fact that I can walk up to my sink, turn my water on, and drink it. I do it on purpose, especially when people come to my house, and the water is so good.

Because the water goes through the whole house, I also feel more comfortable brushing my teeth with the clean cold water. When I take a shower. It feels good and now, I'm taking more baths than I usually do. The water feels different and it's making me feel like I wanna go take a bath even though I just had one! I got the soap products too, and I do in-between cleaning on the stainless steel appliance I use. I got a spray bottle that I put water in, and then I still got the glass cleaner. I really love it.

Additionally, Rob was exceptionally courteous, taking his time to address all my inquiries. Shortly after the initial installation, an issue arose with a module, causing the system to malfunction. I promptly contacted Rob, and he arrived at my residence the following day to rectify the problem. He replaced the faulty component and ensured that the system was functioning optimally once more.

Upon his arrival, Rob demonstrated politeness by knocking on the door, removing his shoes, and ensuring that the area he worked in was left immaculate, as he had found it. In fact, the desalination unit was rated to last only 10 years, and it lasted a lot longer than that. When they noticed that my unit was way past its useful life date, they offered to replace it and the price they quoted was really high. But they cut the price in half. Then I asked if they could cut anything more off, and they said they won't charge me for this year's equipment. They do the filter exchange every year and that's $250. They waived that as well. They're expensive but if you can afford it, it's worth it.

Everyone we spoke to and dealt with was wonderful, until we purchased the system and it was installed. Customer service was great, got back to us quickly and were flexible with scheduling appointments, everyone was so friendly. Then, they installed the system, I attached 2 photos, of their less than quality work. The staples holding the cord to my wall right out in the open... Really? There is no nicer/cleaner way to make that work? The bigger problem is/was the first picture. That is the hole they made in our wall to run the cord through to the outside unit so it has power. I can understand that a hole needed to be made, but I do not agree with how they left it. That is a sizable hole to just leave as is. It is going directly outside. Creatures and insects can stroll right in! They did not try to use anything to fill it in!

We did not get angry or upset, we just simply gave them a call and requested someone to come take a look and see what they could do to repair it or at least look decent. No one returned our calls. Then a couple weeks after everything is set up, they send someone out to make sure all the equipment is good and working correctly and to answer any questions. So, when Andrew got to the house and checked everything out, we showed him this damage and said how we had called and left a message but never heard back from anyone. He agreed it looked poorly, that it should get fixed, apologized, and gave us a different number to call, his manager/supervisor directly. He took pictures and made notes on our account about this as well.

We called and left a message multiple times over the course of at least a month. We never received a call back, not one! We had our system installed on April 5th, 2025, Andrew came to the house April 18th, 2025 and we're still waiting for a call... So much for customer service, clearly they only treat you well until they have your money.

We first heard of RainSoft 25 years ago. My mom was getting older, and her skin was giving her trouble drying out. And I don’t know where she heard about RainSoft, but she scheduled an appointment with this gentleman who came out and did a test on her water. And she was just impressed with what she was listening to. And that was the first time that she set up to have the softener filtration throughout the whole house.

I thought it was pricey, and it was something that I didn’t want to do, but she wanted to do it. So, we went ahead, and we did it. But the experience with them has been amazing. It’s just been so top-notch and efficient.

I’ve had it for so many years that I don’t notice the water being soft or anything. I can’t tell. My son says he can’t. And we were talking about changing our showerheads, and my son said it could be the water. It’s not as hard as it was before. So, the calcium buildup doesn’t build up as much. So, we didn’t have to change our showerhead.

But what happened recently, and why I had them come out, was because I had the water filtration system throughout the house. But when it came to our drinking water, I had a little spout on the side that was from Sparkletts. And RainSoft checked that water, and they said that it’s okay. So, years later, Sparkletts changed, and I don’t like dealing with out-of-state. So, I called RainSoft and asked them about the salt, to order salt, and about the service.

And the girl that I talked to said that they have a promotion going on for the sink filtration. And when she told me about it, I told her that I’m sick and tired of dealing with these out-of-staters. So, we went ahead and scheduled the appointment. Now, I told her that I didn’t want to because I had to call Sparkletts back to get them to come and get their equipment. And she said that they’ll take out the equipment, set it aside, and install theirs. So, I talked to my mom, and we went ahead and we went with that.

Even though it’s pricey at first, me not having to pay every month and just pay every two years 100-something dollars, and we’re drinking clear water, it’s good. I’ve dealt with them before, and they’re on top of things. So, what happened was when the guy came out to install the product, the sink, he took the equipment with him. And I was so worried because that's expensive. I was just imagining the worst. When I called up RainSoft the next day, I spoke with the supervisor. It was the technician's day off. So, she had him bring it the next day. It was amazing.

And not to mention, I always order salt, too, because I can’t find the salt that they use anywhere. It’s grounded or something. And being 65 years old, I can't carry those heavy bags of salt. So, for them to be able to bring them and just put them right there is helpful to me, too.

Our water is hard, but with RainSoft our water is now super soft and there is less consumables. Get RainSoft. It's expensive but it depends on what your budget is and the economy. Also, it's what you're putting on your body and what you're drinking.

RainSoft had a free test kit. I sent that off and a guy came out and did more tests. Just seeing all the dirty and nasty stuff was why I got RainSoft for the whole house and the drinking water. Everybody I worked with, from the customer service on the phone to the salesman to the installer, everything was great. In the short term, there has been a change in the taste of the water. I'm sure in the long term, we'll see less corrosion around where the water comes out of like the pipes and all the faucets.

I was at Home Depot, and a young lady was making a pitch for RainSoft. A guy came and did a presentation, and he was good. The only thing that I didn't understand, and I'm not sure he even mentioned it, was that the system uses a lot of water to do the reverse osmosis. It's a bit concerning since I wasn't expecting the system to create excess water waste during usage. Even though I haven't seen a spike in my water bill, understanding this aspect beforehand might have influenced my decision differently.

When it comes to the quality of the water itself, my wife insists the drinking water tastes better now, even though I don't notice much difference from before. As for installation, it was a smooth process led by diligent workers who completed it fairly quickly while I was busy.

Looking at value, the cost seemed quite high initially, especially considering the additional expense of filter changes. Overall though, the customer service experience was excellent, and despite some downsides, the positive interactions with the RainSoft team made up for initial hesitations. Ultimately, I would recommend RainSoft.

RainSoft is in Home Depot and my decision to purchase the water treatment system was influenced by recurring issues that a plumber identified. He suggested that a water filtration system might reduce sediment buildup and plumbing problems.

I opted for a whole-house system and since its installation, I've noticed several changes, particularly when showering. The sensation of soap lingering on the skin is gone, leaving a clean but slippery feel, which I've come to appreciate. The overall water experience within the house, including improved flow from faucets and reduced mildew, has been significant.

However, I've faced challenges with the drinking water aspect. After consuming the filtered water from my under-sink system, I experienced symptoms like weakness and even made an urgent care visit due to fever and body aches. Despite their assurance from water tests indicating it's safe, I've paused using it for drinking, opting for bottled water instead. The issue could stem from other personal factors, so I’m approaching it cautiously, planning to reassess if it reoccurs.

In terms of household improvements, I’ve seen marked benefits with RainSoft in terms of showering, plumbing, and faucet performance, which has notably improved.

We've had the RainSoft system for around 30 to 45 days now. The overall sales and installation process went smoothly, though there was a minor issue during installation due to a defective part — a pinched seal on the filter system's bypass resulted in a water leak. Fortunately, this was quickly resolved.

My girlfriend, who was particularly keen on getting the system, loves the drinking water tap that produces alkaline water. She notices a significant improvement in the water quality. Personally, I don't detect such a vast difference, but the system works great for our needs. Being a big water drinker myself, I appreciate the functionality it adds to our daily routine.

While the quality of the system is commendable, I do feel the cost is quite steep at $13,000. The financing options were limited, offering either to pay a certain amount over three years or triple that cost over ten years, which I feel could be improved for better affordability.

Despite these financial considerations, I'd still rate the system around a 4 overall. It's great for our household, although some aspects could be refined, particularly in terms of cost-efficiency.

On top of that, since the installation, our refrigerator’s water dispenser no longer works — an issue we never had before. And if that wasn’t enough, the “clean water” faucet they installed doesn’t even stream water properly — it spits it out in all directions, creating a mess every time we use it. When we reached out about these issues — on the second day — we were essentially told there was nothing they could do, and that we had to deal with the finance company. The contract clearly states a 3-day refund window, but now they’re claiming they don’t offer refunds at all. That’s not just bad customer service — it’s misleading and unacceptable. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company. The product didn’t work as promised, and the follow-up service was dismissive and unhelpful. Save yourself the hassle.

Airmaster Ultra initially was a good system until it failed. The system has two electronic boards. The board that controls the UV and ozone failed. It was replaced but the germicidal light was not working. This was mentioned to the technician that the indicator LED did not appear to be illuminating like the other LEDs. Technicians stated this is not a problem. Checked this system a few months later and this LED was not working at all. Contacted Florida Energy water and air. Technician came out. I have problems fixing the system. This problem was yeah.

Not fixed under the warranty repair. Paid for a service call and the technician determined, there was a part that needed to be ordered. After several months wait, it ends up the part was never ordered. The part was then ordered and I had to pay for another service call. The technician never replaced the ordered part. He replaced the ribbon between the two boards and said. The system is now working. Checked it again two months later, and nothing was working. Determined, the system had not been reassembled properly, because there was a broken mounting screw. Basically, this system needs to be replaced.

Both boards and the ribbon cable had failed. The problem is both for quality of the system and even worse support by the Rainsoft independent dealer Florida Energy Water and Air. There is only one screw now holding the cover on the system. You get to pay every time a technique shows up and it doesn't do the repair. If you call the main office of Rainsoft, they will tell you, call the independent dealer and it's your problem. Deal with it. So don't depend on the headquarters of Rainsoft to resolve anything. Truly a buyer beware situation. Maybe Home Depot needs to look into their vendor.

We have the worst water here in Bolingbrook. We pay a fortune for it, and everyone says it tastes disgusting. A few years ago, we had our bathtub refinished, and it was snow white. Then all of a sudden, black streaks started running down it.

We picked up a water test from Home Depot, and they came out to do a full in‑home test. The guy said we had at least 10 contaminants in our water. So, we took the plunge and put in the full RainSoft system. We no longer have the black streaks down the tub. I had the whole house done, and I thought it was worth it.

I thought there would be some way to find out exactly what was in the water, but maybe I didn't catch it when the guy was here. They did say we were supposed to get all these free products. I finally reached out to RainSoft a couple of days ago and got the information. Yes, we can order the free products.

Most people would say, “You paid that much?” But after what I saw in my bathtub, and knowing I’m drinking and cooking with this water, something is clearly wrong. I’m not happy that I had to pay that much money when I’m already paying about $200 a month for my water bill, but I had to do something. It’s bad enough that the food we eat has so much junk in it. The water shouldn’t be like that for what we’re paying. So, I thought it was worth it.

That alone was worth it! The taste of the water is so much better now. We actually enjoy drinking straight from the tap, which we never used to do. Coffee, tea, and even cooking have noticeably improved because the water is just that much cleaner and fresher. Highly recommend this system to anyone tired of the unpleasant smell or taste in their water. It’s been a total game-changer for us!

The presentation was pleasant and informative. He showed me the hard water, the chlorine, we talked about what we wanted in water coming out of our tap, and he wasn’t pushy, so it was relatively painless. I bought the RainSoft house system that goes through the whole house, and I've got additional drinking water spigot on the tank. The changes in the water was immediate. The water is nice, it feels good. The shower is not soft, and I told him that ‘cause I don’t have any problem with the water the way it is. But it’s noticeably different, and it tastes really good, especially my coffee ‘cause I use my drinking water in my coffee and it’s perfect. I think the unit was a little overpriced. I chose to finance it 'cause it's manageable and I got some things going. But I think $6,500 is a little bit much. Is it worth it? Is the monthly payment good for me? Yeah, it’s cool.

I just didn’t like being pestered in the store because we weren’t finished with construction yet. But the lady was nice. She asked when it was okay to send somebody to the house, called me back in a month and we were ready then so that worked out.

I got a RainSoft Water Treatment System because of the quality of my water. I knew I had a problem because there were several things in the house that indicated to me that there was a problem with my water. For example, inside my toilet, they were always black. Also, in the kitchen, the sink around the faucet where the water runs down just stayed gray and black-looking all the time. I'm a very clean person. The other thing was I love water, but I got to the point where I couldn't stand drinking the water coming out of my faucet. I lost my desire for water. So those were the three things. Then, when the representative came out and tested my water, even though I have a filter on my refrigerator for my ice maker, it didn’t even pass the test.

The area where I live is unincorporated within Fort Bend County, Missouri. I realized that some neighbors have butane gas tanks on top of the ground, so I assumed they probably have wells too. I never would have bought in the subdivision if I had known all of that when I was looking for my house. All the thoughts I had all along, combined with testing of this water, just brought it to life.

After getting the system, I don’t have that build-up in the kitchen around my sinks or faucet anymore. I never could get it clean before, and that’s gone. Even the toilet bowls are now clean. The taste of the water is different too, and I’m drinking water like crazy all day long. Also, I’ve noticed that my silverware now glistens when I wash it. Before, it always had a nasty look, probably because of the water.

The installation team did a great job. They were running a little behind schedule because the job before me took them considerably longer than they thought, but when they got here with me, they took great care. They finished in a timely manner and ran me through the system, and it was an awesome experience.

My kids, I’d prefer for them to just be able to have nice water. It’s just something that I thought would be a good thing for my family. I have a little, especially with my skin. It's funny because usually I have to put lotion on my skin because my skin always gets really dry. And lately, I catch myself not even needing to put lotion because the water seems to leave my skin feeling soft and not dry, so it's been actually pretty satisfying to know that now I'm cutting down on certain things like my normal routine, having a morning routine that I hate doing. So it's kind of worth the extra money I'm spending because it's actually saving me a little bit of time on certain areas that I probably should be taking care of myself, and I'm not. The whole process of installation went perfectly fine. It went faster than I thought. The only issue was prolonging them to complete the installation, which was because of the rain that kept coming, so it was hard for them to put the drainage system in. So they have to come out and do the work twice until that second time, he had to work in the mud whether he liked it or not, because it was just like, “Just do it.” I felt bad, but everything just seemed to go smooth. I didn't find any kind of inconvenience or anything like that. It's exceeded my expectations. Granted, I'm still getting used to the whole feeling kind of slimy afterwards.

It’s a massive difference having RainSoft. The water down here is very hard, it was making my wife's hair very brittle, making my daughter and wife's skin break out, and it was leaving large bits of sediment on the shower heads. Now there's no hardness to it at all. My skin feels different almost like it tingles. We don't have to use lotions and other products because it stripped all the bleach out of the water. It doesn't smell funny, it’s very pure, and it tastes clean. I like that RainSoft has a unique system that it can self-clean.

The salesman was a very nice gentleman. I've worked in sales and he did a great job. We did negotiate a lower price, and we reached the zone of proximal agreement, so we didn't nickel-and-dime him down to where he was getting bitter. The crew that came out to install it, our ground in Alabama, if you get an inch down, it's just clay, and they had to dig that system in, didn’t complain once, and they explained the system to me, so they did a very good job.

It is an expensive system, but I'm pretty fond of the wife and I'll try to remain in close and continued access to her physically as long as possible, and if I have to drop $8,000 on a water filtration system, I would do it. We both agree it was a lot of money, but it was very worth doing and we would do it again.

I have a daughter who has autism and we were living in an apartment. We had a very scary experience where she had a rash on the back of her right knee, and it wasn't going away. I was told to give her a warm bath, which I did, but it kept getting worse and worse. It started spreading, and she was sent home from school. They didn't want her there and said it looked contagious, and it was a big thing. I then took her to the doctor. They kept giving her medicines and nothing was working. Finally, I get to the cancer place and they did a skin test. They gave her this really strong steroid cream. We then moved and changed from an apartment to a condo I bought. The rash started to go away. I was putting that medicine on her, and it made the rash go away.

I wanted to test the water with the condo, so I went to Home Depot. Once they put the RainSoft in, the rash went away. I looked it up online, like what it could be that would help her. I saw the test of the water, what's in the water, and what it does to you. I knew that's what it was. In that apartment, no matter what I put on her, it wouldn't go away. I also had some stuff going on on my shoulder. I recently had to go get medicine too, but it's gone. As soon as we came over here and got the RainSoft, the rash went away and she doesn't have it. I'm waiting to see if during the summertime it's gonna pop back out, because it usually happens during summer. But I'm very happy with it. My hair and skin are softer.

My daughter doesn't really drink water, but when we go to gymnastics class, I'll give her a little bit of water from our home, and she'll drink that. From other places, she won't. She can taste it. I also noticed the difference with my son. He has schizophrenia and would not drink the water. He was like, “I have to have bottled water.” When he saw the visual of the water after buying the system, he carries his water and drinks it, too. He had to see it to know. He was like, “There's something in that water. I'm not drinking it,” and he was right. There was chlorine in the water.

Also, when we make food, I feel the difference in how it tastes. It's a better experience. When they showed me the samples of how much chlorine is in the water. They showed it to me visually, and I'm a very visual person. I was like, “I get it now. I understand.” It made sense to me. The food wouldn't taste right, and my coffee wouldn't taste right in the mornings. It tasted as if the water was pushing it down. The coffee was like it was at the bottom of the cup, and you wouldn't taste it. It just tastes like water. Now, when I have the clear water, my coffee is good. I can drink instant coffee and I can taste the coffee. That's how I knew the difference between not having clear water and having clear water.

I'm a very clean person. I also have two dogs, so we have to clean the floor constantly. Dogs go in and out, so when I used to live in the apartment, I would clean with water, and it felt like it wasn't clean. You could tell the difference in the rug because I used the shampooer to clean it. Now I have a professional cleaner who comes and does that, but I can notice the difference in the cleaning and the water. When you use the water to clean, it's actually clean when I wipe down my walls and wipe down the bottom of the dust panels. My stairs stay clean, too. When you use the other water, it doesn't stay clean like that. It's crazy. I noticed the difference, and this is awesome.

I love my system and I’m gonna keep it. It's something that I can leave to my kids that's good for them. It's an investment for them. I do a lot for myself, but my kids mean everything to me. With them having clean water, I'm gonna cry. I wash my clothes and they stay clean, and with the food as well, that means everything to me. I don't know how other parents feel, but that's very important to me. My kids are everything to me and so Rainsoft makes me feel good. I'm happy with my product.

We’ve had RainSoft for about 16 years. Ours eventually stopped working, and they no longer had parts for it, so we had a new one installed. We’ve been very satisfied with it. My husband and I had the original system installed many years ago, and it saved us a lot of money on detergent and probably water heaters, since hard water can damage them.

Our water comes from the Western Water Company, and it’s very hard, so the system has really helped. When the old unit went on the blink, I called a company that came out from Columbus to service it. He fixed it the first time by replacing a single part, and it turned out to be something minor.

Anyway, I had it fixed. Then the next time it quit, I said, “Oh no.” I started seeing hard water deposits in my kitchen sink, so I knew something was wrong. When I checked the machine itself, it wasn’t using salt. That’s when I realized it wasn’t working.

We called Pure H2O out of Columbus, and they did a wonderful job installing the new system. We were very happy with it many years ago, and we continue to be very happy with it now. It’s a wonderful thing, and I would recommend it to anyone who has hard water deposits.

I know when we first moved here, we replaced our hot water heater twice in five years, and it was full of sediment from hard water. That just shows how much damage hard water can cause. I can’t even imagine what the water lines must look like.

I had wonderful service from RainSoft. The technician was very kind and explained everything that was going on. He tested my water and let me see it while he was doing the test. RainSoft does that. They’ll come into your home and do a free water test and show you how hard your water is. It doesn’t cost anything. You can call them, and they’ll send someone out to check it.

From the time we had our first RainSoft system installed, it saved us more money than you can imagine. You use about half the amount of soap. They even provided bar soap and laundry detergent the first time. It was amazing because you hardly used any, and everything still got clean. You use much less bar soap and shampoo, everything.

We got free water testing from RainSoft when we bought a refrigerator from Home Depot. The installation team was all professional. They cleaned up the mess and explained to us how to use it. They’re very nice and awesome, and so was Fred, the one who sold it to us. He was very courteous.

I didn’t notice at first. But then I think two days after the installation, I noticed how soft the water was when we took our showers. We don't have to buy bottled water any more. It was excellent.

I was always interested in water softener systems before. A lady at Home Depot stopped me and talked to me about Rainsoft and I signed up. Consultation was very thorough and the installation team was fast. I am pleased with their product.

We had regular city water before we had RainSoft. My husband was in Home Depot one day and someone from RainSoft talked to him about the system. I thought our water was fine before, but after the rep showed us a demo of how much stuff she had to put in the water, I thought it was gross. That was really eye-opening for me. The system we have now is functioning great, and it cleaned out the sediment at the bottom of our water heater, causing it to flood out. It’s been great.

I purchased a system from RainSoft after they did the water test for me. Now that I have it, the water quality is good and the water feels silky.

I got a RainSoft water softener because the water quality is not that great in my area. Every aspect of it was very professionally handled. Everybody called to make sure everything was okay, and the installation team who came out was excellent. We had a leak on the system under the sink, and they said that they have been having issues with that. They immediately called someone who came right back and took care of it. Now we noticed that the water doesn’t leave spots on things. Everything’s working fine, and we love it.

They came to the house to test my water. When I ask what the water was like the sales person I would not drink it never having a water system before came from city water. I figured we needed to get a system so I trusted him and it cost over 5000.00. Then when it came time to get new filters they told me it was over 300.00. I said no so at that time I had my water tested and it turned out to be fine. So don't do what I did and take their word for it. Have your water tested by someone else or yourself before you have any water system put in. If I had it to do all over there would be no system in this house...

Response from RainSoft Water Treatment Systems
We reached out to our dealer, RainSoft of Northern Michigan, and received the following response:
We are sorry to hear you are unhappy. There are many benefits to having filtered water, even with city water. You are extending the life of all of your water using appliances by having a conditioner, eliminating lime and scale buildup. Your laundry is cleaner and softer. Cleaning is easier because you don't have any staining or buildup. To make sure you have the best water possible, we do recommend changing your reverse osmosis pre and post filters yearly, and your membrane every 2-3 years. Waiting to change your filters can cause them to crack or cause your system to plug up and stop working. In keeping up with changing your filters as recommended, the RainSoft Ultrefiner II is certified to reduce arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium (hexavalent and trivalent), copper, fluoride, lead, radium, selenium, total dissolved solids, turbidity, and many harmful VOCs.

Number one, since day one with RainSoft, was skin and hair, are what differences I noticed the most. So far, we're very happy with it. Everything with the sales representative went well. They explained everything to me, and that’s why we wanted to have it. We saw two different people, Jeff and John, and they were awesome. They were great.

My brother was first to find out about RainSoft, and I became interested in it for the health benefit, like to have a better skin and better clothing. Before, we use the water from the faucet and then the city water, and we would buy water bottles. The system is going great, and what is important is that the water makes the skin softer and less dryer. The clothes come out smoother too. My phone will give me an alert when to add salt, and we keep checking weekly.

A Home Depot employee approached me about water softeners and I was pretty sure I wasn’t interested. But I set up an appointment anyway. I told the rep when she got here that I probably won’t buy it but we did. She was really patient with us. One tipping point was it really wasn’t gonna go in our garage, and when we were teetering a little bit, she included the little enclosure for it.

The installer was overworked but was very good. When he finally finished it up, it was pretty late in the day. He gave me a lot of good advice about how to operate it and tend to the salt. One of the best pieces of advice he told me about the salt was to not add it until I can see a little bit of plastic in the bottom of the tank. People tend to add salt when they sit and go down a little bit, and eventually they end up with a rock in the bottom. He said to let it get real low, and then add the salt. So I thought that was good common sense.

Right after we bought it in January, we had a big freeze. Being a handyman, I put in a thermostatically controlled heat lamp in the little building, so we hadn’t done anything. I’m also a gadget guy, so the app keeps me notified of what’s going on. It’s all plumbed up and we’ve enjoyed it and think it’s a positive improvement.

The most positive thing about the RainSoft water softener is that the women in my house love it. I don’t think I could tell the difference, but they can. My wife said her skin is softer. She has been using the products like the soap and shampoo, and they’re good with the water softener.

The water also doesn’t have the odd flavors and tastes good.
