When it comes to the Rainbow, it has changed my life. The money I get to save due to the machine, plus the health benefit of it is absolutely amazing. No more allergy medicine, no more itching eyes or sneezing within my own home. Being certified by the asthma and allergy foundation is to me, far and beyond a qualified product. People can complain about a pushy salesman, the price or the programs that they have, but aside from maybe a bad experience, the product is amazing. Give Rainbow a fair and open chance to change your life.

A lady came to our door advertising asking if we were interested in an air purification system. We have 2 large dogs, a toddler and I was pregnant with my 2nd child so we were very interested. She demonstrated how the Rainbow E series black worked by vacuuming our mattress, and having my husband use our vacuum on the carpet in a small area. After my husband vacuumed the area with at least 7 passes on the carpet, she went over the same area with the Rainbow. It pulled all kinds of dirt our vacuum left behind. She vacuumed the blinds, pictures, and even demonstrated the carpet cleaning attachment on a red punch stain on the carpet. It had been there for years, but the Rainbow pulled it right up. I didn't like that I couldn't negotiate the price, but we bought it anyway.

I have had it for 5 years now and it works great. We did some renovations in the house and the dust was unbearable. I turned the Rainbow on high, and after 3 hours the entire room over 300 sq ft. was free of dust. Even cleaning our dogs' room is easier since it picks up all the dog hair and since we can add fragrance to the water basin, it leaves the room smelling fresh with no trace of dog scent. When I think my children are getting sick, I can add the eucalyptus or the fresh air deodorizer to the water basin and let it run on low all day. It purified the air and helps eliminate germs that cause a cold. The eucalyptus scent is great for my sinuses.

I admit it is sort of heavy going upstairs, but the cord is so long, you can leave it below the stairs and still vacuum the whole staircase only moving it when you need to. Most times I just dump the water downstairs and refill it upstairs since the water makes it heavy. I like how I can fluff and refresh pillows with the bag that comes with it. If you refer them to other families, you will get a free attachment with every verified referral. I use a RainMate (a free gift) in 4 rooms to keep them smelling fresh. We were given the choice of a RainMate or a 3 day vacation. We chose the RainMate. I got 2 free, but I bought the other 2.

The Rainbow has a great warranty on parts as well. I've used the warranty to have it serviced for free and repair small things that broke from overuse. I vacuum every day, and I'm not so gentle with it every time. My only complaint over time is I wish Rainbow would make an upright. I still hate pulling the canister behind me. I bought this in 2013 and it's never lost suction.

My wife “won” a free color changing air purifier from the Phoenix home and garden show, so they called to set up a time to drop her “free” gift but she had to sit through a hour presentation on Rainbow vacuums. After reading reviews I was nope not this house not going to get a $5,000 sale on us. So when he came in he noticed I was a Purple Heart vet and tried to make a connection with the military. As a seasoned infantrymen I already had my mind set that we would not purchase one. So he came in and started his whole spill about this being the best thing since sliced bread.

When I asked if this was the best thing since sliced bread why doesn’t the military use it in their barracks or offices and he goes on with his spill that this is so good they don’t go after the military because they can’t get a military contract. Finally he tells me that it’s Scientific proven that this will clean my air, so I asked to see this “scientific”. He takes the rainbow out of the box and shows me a small square on the box.

Finally done hearing the spill I say, "Sir let me ask you this. If I spent 8 years in the infantry serving for a country I love and the army tried to get me to re-enlist and couldn’t get me to do, what are you going to do to convince me to purchase a rainbow vacuum.” That’s when he jumped up and packed up as fast as he came in with his used car salesmen attitude. Leaving my wife with this one question, he left her air purifier but didn’t explain Anything about it. She also kinda bummed y’all. Didn’t clean our carpet. Anyways the question she has is where can she purchase the oils for this free Air purifier that we received from you guys? Again thanks for the free gift. Sorry about embarrassing your salesmen.

My first Rainbow was purchased at a yard sale as an antique and still worked. A 1932 model. My wife and I bought our first when our son developed asthma. On our third one now made in the late 90's. Love it. No dust, no messy bags or filters. Must remember to remove top in order to protect motor. Empty regular and clean separator every third use and it will last a long time. However, the newer ones have been retooled due to patent loss or something. Not even close to the same machine. Too bad it was never sold in stores. Try the pawn shops and remember all motors can be rebuilt!

We purchased a Rainbow almost 2 years ago and, as of yet have been unable to assemble myself. My husband does the vacuuming now. I'm 72 and he's 74, a simple job has turned into an ordeal, therefore we're not cleaning as often as we should. I've been in the hospital with the horrible flu and he also has it so I'm trying to clean and disinfect before he gets home. I'm sweating so bad that I almost blacked out and no matter how much twisting and turning and trying to adjust, I can't get it together. If you can't make the machine user friendly, you should stop selling. It cleans well and disgusts me the crap that comes out but it doesn't do any good if I can't use it.

DO NOT BUY. Beware. Do not buy a Rainbow system. Salesman are extremely pushy, and will basically do anything to force you to buy this product. We have hardwood floors upstairs, the rainbow does not work on hardwood. I get more dirt sweeping with a regular broom than I do with the Rainbow Vacuum. My Dyson vacuum also worked better on carpet than this vacuum does, but when I purchased this they took my Dyson, so now we’re stuck. We tried to take the Rainbow back but they told us we didn’t want to take it back, and they would send someone out to show us how to use it. REALLY??? I know how to use a vacuum, and this one sucks. Please be better than me, save your money and your dignity, and don’t buy this product. I guarantee you won’t be satisfied. Guarantee it.

I did the demo program with Rainbow, it was really simple, 12 demos in 6 months, 2 had to be A-line sales and I had to do the first 6 in the first 45 days of my purchase. I did the whole program in less than a month and got my $2800 reimbursement check, I even did a 13th demo which was a sale and got an extra $1000. There are guidelines to follow, which why wouldn't there be? They're giving you almost $10,000 worth of product for free, but as long as you read the paperwork and have a dealer who explains it very thoroughly to you there's nothing to fret. It's still super easy and possible to do.

I have several friends and see people on Facebook in my area who have also done the program and gotten their reimbursement check. I'm sure somewhere along the way there's been a few dealers who didn't thoroughly explain the program who maybe were just trying to get a sale or new and wasn't trained properly but like I said as long as you read the paperwork they give you you'll know all you need to know, and even then it's not difficult, they just don't want you taking them to crappy run-down houses or to people who finance stuff and don't pay their bills.

I love the program and I love that I was able to get such an amazing machine for free, it's truly changed our lives and even if I had to pay that $2800 for a Rainbow it's absolutely worth it. I live in Southern Alabama, I know out of 110 different countries that sell the Rainbow only 3 regions offer this program, Atlanta area, Pensacola, Fl., Mobile, Al.

The program explains you need 12 qualifying couples to show the product to in a 12 month period. If you complete the program in 90 days there are extra incentives. Part of the program is to sell at least 2 units and once completed if you show to a 13th customer and they purchase you received a bonus check. The unit cost $3290, with the trade of your old vacuum the unit is $2780. If you complete the program the unit is paid for with a check at the very end of the completed program.

With the completion of the 13th show and sale there is an additional $1360 check they will send. Here is the problem, the program has several problems within. They cannot keep up with the appointments so they put you on standby to keep them from having to give you the show since they couldn't meet the requirement. They tell you in the beginning all you have to do is make the appointments and be there during the shows but they fail to share if they keep placing you on standby that your clock's keep ticking.

They fail to tell you that if they decide to not use your qualifying show there is no dispute or customer service forum to prove your show was qualifying - it's your word against theirs or the salesman. The unit they sell travels from home to home until it is sold, so it is not a new unit nor is it a clean unit. They clean each home they walk into with that unit until it is sold but you pay the full price for it. If they tell you it's hassle free, don't believe it. They stay in your home on average for 3 to 5 hours practically begging you to take this machine and if you don't sarcasm begins. Free and gifts are used as the marketing strategy to get in. Once they got you, you are a nonfactor, it's on to the next.

You only talk to a salesperson who has no authority. Customer service only emails you. They never talk to you directly, but when it's time to pay for the unit they are quick to get you on the phone with the bank or finance company. I have shown 15 and sold 7. I am the only one I know to have completed the program but I have yet to receive my 13th check for $1360. The plan is to make you feel your house is so nasty yet homes are built every day without a single word regarding the dust and dirt we live around day in and day out. Be careful with this company.

We got a phone call saying we won in a drawing a small air purifier. So the lady scheduled a appointment to come to our house and deliver it. I said, "I don't want to buy anything," she said, "All we ask is word of mouth. Tell your friends and family if you like the air purifier." I said, "Ok." Friday a man comes and showed us all about the big air purifier. "We didn't buy anything," I said. "Where is the free one?" Well how confident he didn't have one. I called the lady and asked about getting the free one. She said, "I will have that department call you." Never a call back of course. So anyway I think they lie and also used my time and because we didn't buy anything I guess that means we don't get a purifier that supposedly I won. I would never do business with them. As for word of mouth I definitely tell people not to buy anything from Rainbow.

First off I want to say it works great on carpet but we plan on taking all the carpet out of the house and putting down hardwood floors. We told the sales guy this. He told us that the Rainbow works great on hardwood floors and you don't have to use a broom ever again. You won't have to worry about bending over and using the dustpan??? Yea right. So I go to clean a few days later and I use the long head like he recommended. It got all the dog hair up (I have 2 large dogs and 5 cats, we live in the country in a big house, along with 2 children) so I clean every day. But this was the 1st time I was trying the vacuum on the kitchen floor. It was a fail. I decided to go back and sweep to see what all it missed. I swept up all kinds of dirt and crumbs the kids and dropped in my floor.

So I call the sales guy and he tells me it's past my 3 days but it sounds like there is something wrong with my vacuum. He is coming out to "fix" the problem. It also doesn't clean beside the walls like they said it will. I have to pull the hose out to use it. I just want my bagless vacuum back. It is much lighter and with me having to vacuum every day with a husky in the house it is so much easier. So if you have a husky I don't recommend you get this vacuum cleaner or if you like to clean in your house shoes because you can't step on all the buttons to lift the product off the stands. This vacuum is also very heavy if you have more than one floor or a split level house.

When I said something about that they said, "Well you can always get another vacuum to put upstairs." I just laughed at the girl and said, "Yes I want to put a $3000 vacuum cleaner in the toy room bc I have an extra $3000 laying around." She then told me I could always sale the vacuum to get one free and I laughed again and told her that I don't even like people little off go to their house and talk to them for 3hrs at a time and sale them something I think is a POS. She was not happy with my response. I really just want to return the vacuum cleaner I haven't made any payments but they won't take it back at all and told me I was out of luck.

I attended a neighborhood street fair where I submitted an entry to a raffle for a free water fragrance machine. I should have known something was wrong when they asked if I owned my home. Two days after the fair I received a call stating I had won a machine and they wanted to schedule a time to drop off the machine and show me how to set it up. The woman stated they also wanted to show me the rainbow machine while they were at my home. I asked how long would it take and I was told an hour so I agreed. My mistake--I thought the "rainbow" was a fancier water scent machine.

The sales rep came, she appeared nice at first. She gave the free machine and demonstrated different scents. Once she was done she brought out the rainbow and at first she demonstrated it as a air purifier before she showed me it was a vacuum cleaner. I asked the price. I was told $3,000. I informed her a $3,000 vacuum was not in my budget. She tried to convince me I could earn enough money to pay for my machine. When I told her I don't like sales, she said they don't sale they demonstrate (lol!).

You know just people helping people. I told her we needed to wrap it because I had something to do, but she persisted. I told her if I wanted one I would just buy one on the secondary market from someone who regretted buying it. She stated that Rainbow would NOT repair the machine if I was not the original registered owner linked to the machine's Serial Number. So I just left her downstairs while I went upstairs to change clothes and do my hair. She finally got the hint and left.

I had attended a craft show at a church. The guy talked me into entering for a free "new" rain air purifier. Said it was completely free. Called me later and said my name had been drawn out, and we had won the free air purifier. He set up a time with us to come "set it up." I told him multiple times we were not buying anything, he insisted it was free, won as a prize. Well he shows up with a freaking vacuum cleaner! Took 2.5 hours to present, we said no, offered free financing for 48 months, we said no, offered free attachments, we said no. Very difficult to get him to leave. We had kids hungry for dinner and needing to get in bed for school, he still wouldn't leave! And he demonstrated the "carpet cleaner" and left our carpet wet! Just beware if you see a contest for a free air purifier!!

I purchase the Rainbow Vacuum on October 8, against that little voice in my head saying "No, don't do this." On October 22, I called the sales representative that persisted we needed this system in our home, and told her how I was unhappy with the air quality and suction. She said "You only get a 3 day return policy, you cannot return it now." I was dumbfounded. I went back to my contract. I reread it over and over again. Only 3 days to determine whether or not I like a machine that suppose to help clean my home better?!

I called the distribution center the next business day. The woman I spoke to was incredibly rude and told me I "had to deal with it now." This machine doesn't purify the air like it's advertised. The suction can't keep up with the amount of pet hair in my home. It has to be thoroughly cleaned in the middle of cleaning one room in my home. My old vacuum never gave me that trouble. It's very heavy. You don't get all of the attractments all at once. You have to do shows in order to get the other pieces. It has doubled my cleaning time, when I'd rather be spending time with my family. This has been the biggest mistake I have ever made.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints so I want to take time to share why we love our Rainbow!! We bought it in 2011 from a friend who signed up to sell to earn her own Rainbow for free. We had to take out a loan to pay for it, but we paid it off a few years later. It was a great investment and we use it daily with three small kids and a dog. Our dog did chew up some of the pieces (twice) so we had to replace those. Once we had the whole thing cleaned inside and out. It was perfect and like new. Nothing beats opening the water basin and seeing all the nasty dust, dirt, hair, etc. it collected!!

I purchased this awesome machine nearly 2 years ago. My son has severe asthma and since I got this he hasn't had any breathing issues, his inhaler goes untouched, his nebulizer collects dust in the closet. I like that when I'm done I dump the water and rinse the bowl. I never have to worry about canisters and bags. I wasn't a fan of the scents, didn't really find them to work all that great. Also never received the free gift for referring 3 demos but whatever.

I purchased it through their financing department. I had a mix up with my bank and ended up missing a payment, the people called to make sure everything was OK and how long I'd need to make up the payment. Super helpful, understanding and the best part, it's technically a loan so every payment gets reported on my credit. So clean air and building up that score! I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It's not bulky or particularly heavy. It isn't any heavier than a traditional vacuum, it's not an upright so of course it's going to be slightly different to get upstairs but don't be a ** about it.

I have had a Rainbow since early 90s and although it is getting tired and parts are needing repair it still outperforms the Dyson I recently purchased. Yes the Rainbow is cumbersome and vacuuming is a chore and Dyson is easier, the claim wet dust can't fly is so true. It's gross to empty a dusty, dirty Dyson and still have dust all over the place. With the Rainbow you see the dirty water and it drains and you know your house is clean. Using attachments for surfaces or walls is terrific and a breeze. The hoses are easy to use and this is the best piece of equipment I have ever owned for my house. I will be taking it for service soon but hope to have it for a long time.

I will share my experience with Rainbow vacuum demonstration. So this goes back 6 years or so, my friend bought a Rainbow (crazy him) and like everyone know to get some free gadgets you have to give people's names for a demo. I accepted, the guy came to our just bought house, a old house from the 16 century which was abandoned for some years. We had done some work but there was still work needed. At the time we had a super old vacuum which was garbage but couldn't afford a new one at the moment. So the sale guy asked to see it and immediately took advantage of that, showed us how much dust our vacuum was letting out and how much it left around. We were shocked!!! Especially because my wife was 8 month pregnant. He started saying that this is unhealthy and that kids might have respiratory problems etc...

After about 1 hour of presentation he asked what we thought and we were impressed, so he started talking about prices and there again we were more than shocked!!! Having just bought a house, renovated part of it and knowing we still had to do work on it spending 3k+ on a vacuum was out of our budget. The salesman didn't want to hear it. He kept pressuring us how important air quality is and making us feel like we didn't care for ourself and our kids' health. So in a situation of not knowing what to do I called my mom and asked her opinion, she raised 4 kids and did a hell of a job she should know if this is a BS vacuum or not. She told me years earlier she was also introduced to something similar and she said "Yes it's good, but do you need it? How is your health? Do you have problems? No, you grew up with an old vacuum cleaner to clean your house and you're as healthy as you can be."

After hearing that I put my heart at peace and said NO. The guy wasn't too happy and kept insisting on ways to get it through credit/rates and we just stood by our NO. After a while he finally got it and left. Never have I had so much pressure on me to buy something... Why am I writing this review? Because our vacuum is dying and I decided to see how the super famous vacuums are doing. To my surprise they cost even more than they did 6 years ago, so I Googled to see what the big deal is, and after reading some comments I decided to leave this negative comment just for the fact that they pressure you into buying it making it seem like if you don't buy it you don't care for your family.

If we would have bought that vacuum cleaner that day we might have lost our house (no joke). Unfortunately the year after the presentation I had to accept a job which gave a much lower pay that I had at the moment, and I most likely would have had credit problems. I thank my mom for making me think thing through. If I was rich yes I would buy it because it is a great product, but the pressure to get yourself in debt for a VACUUM CLEANER is way too much! So if you are here looking to buy one listen to this. If you have the money and that 4k+ won't put you in a bad financial situation go for it, if you don't have the money let it go. It's not worth eating bread and water for 1 year for a vacuum cleaner.

This is the worst program ever. It is very fake. And the employees are beyond horrible in Western NC. We were under the impression at our first show when we purchased no $ would be paid until our 12 shows were done. I trusted our dealer so I didn't read all the fine print which I guess that's on me. We were told no $ until 180 days and nobody told us about the finance charge. Or half the qualifications of the shows. Or I would have never done or signed up for any of this. We were lied to! Just to make a sale! Then one of their reps Joy came out treated me and my family member horribly at a show. She got furious when they chose not to buy. Pulled me aside and trash talked my family for not buying.

So now for being too trustworthy. I have a machine I can't afford. They refuse to let me turn back in and I am officially stuck with it. Great machine works great at that. But wished I hadn't been lied to and our kindness hadn't of been turned around to bite us! I would not recommend anyone to sign up for this program. It's not as it seems.

I am writing a review to express my concern about the sales practices and price of Rainbow Vacuum/Rexair in our area, and to register my upset about being high pressured into a deal. These people send salespersons door to door, start a conversation to find something in common such as our concern about air quality. The Rainbow Vacuum/Rexair is extremely expensive. It is something I would never willingly spend $5,613.00 on. But I can tell you we had a 1st class high pressure job from this salesman, as he would NOT take no for an answer, it seemed to only ratchet up his resolve to sell to us.

He had a pat answer for everything, making it sound like if we didn't purchase it, we didn't care about our family's health. He had a high power lamp he used to beat on the fabric love seat to raise some dust particles, show the lamp on it and say "SEE, that's unhealthy!" Despite my telling "Mr. **" that we really could NOT afford this vacuum because of ongoing surgeries I had to have, plus being on a fixed income, he continued to high pressure us to purchase it. We told him we wanted to think about it, but this spurred him on to greater high pressure tactics as if it were a challenge: "This was a ONE TIME DEAL and when I walk out the door the deal opportunity walks out with me."

He continued to high pressure us until we capitulated. Then he set us up with their credit provider, Preferred Credit, which seems to be a Kirby subsidiary. What seemed to start out at about $2,700.00 ended up becoming $5,613.00 total with all the added on fees! This reeks of predatory lending. I have excellent credit, over an 800 score, but this credit company had a huge percentage tagged onto their "convenient" offer.

It was NOT a good deal at all for us. I had a panic attack and vertigo after signing for this Rainbow Vacuum Preferred Credit agreement. Due to the recent Experian data breach, I signed up for a credit monitoring program. When I reviewed the report, I came across the Preferred Credit deal and was reminded to follow up about the situation. We were too upset to deal with it at the time, which was January 2016. "Mr. **: ALSO TOOK OUR ONLY VACUUM CLEANER, the lightweight DYSON that we could both move around. We had to go out and buy another vacuum cleaner when we tried to use the Rainbow Vacuum, and found it was too cumbersome and heavy to move easily.

I was so upset about being taken advantage of, it took me a week or so to contact this salesman back and tell him we needed to cancel the deal. Of course he couldn't do that. It put us in a terrible financial position regarding my surgery and need to get a newer vehicle. That resource was tied up in this Rainbow Vacuum deal. "Mr. **" said he didn't want to take food out of people's mouths or put them in dire straits.

I told him it absolutely did, and yet he didn't try to rectify it. Instead this was followed up by telling us we could "earn" our way out of debt by taking his training and selling 5 vacuums to get ours "free." I used a Home Equity line of credit to pay off Preferred Credit right away, but it sure didn't translate to any savings on the whole deal. Those fees all came out of the front end!

We now have an expensive paperweight that cost us over $5,600. We don't really use it because it is too big, unwieldy, and heavy for a couple of women in their late 60's. Both of us have serious knee injuries, wear knee braces, and get injections periodically to help stay mobile. Carrying something this heavy and unwieldy puts too much pressure on our knees. The more weight we carry, the more it grinds the bone on bone knee problem.

Even though my sister and I are both in our late 60's, we forced ourselves to do the training to recoup my surgery money. I was really appalled at all the "tricks of the trade" we were being taught to counter any customer concerns or balking at doing the deal. Even if they really couldn't afford it and said so, we were supposed to use every high pressure tactic we could including the "time pressure" deal "you don't care about your family's health" argument, and showing ALL the dust by whacking the bright light on the furniture to highlight particles flying up in that industrial grade bright light. We decided we couldn't in all good conscience put anyone else in the same position. It’s like pyramid marketing. You have to keep hooking other people to dig yourself out.

I feel sorry for all of his other "salespeople" that are desperately trying to recoup their own purchase by selling for him. The salesman: also wrote a glowing Google review for his own business! Their office is in South Lakewood, Colorado. He told us he was one of the most highly successful salespeople and got lots of awards. I see how that happened. Be forewarned! Beware salesmen going door to door. If they tell you their special deal walks out with them, let them. As former activists, we are pretty savvy people, and we still got sucked into this one.

I bought a Rainbow vacuum system about a year ago. A sales person came to my home with a "supped-up" presentation. To my regret, we purchased a system with the expectation we were purchasing a quality product consistent with the price. It never performed up to the expectations of a machine that cost so much money. Too heavy for practical use. Entirely too expensive. The fragrance feature can be accomplished with cheap potpourri. The hose came a loose from the machine. Poor customer service. You can purchase a quality vacuum cleaner for less than half of the cost of this Rainbow unit.

We have just gone through Hurricane Harvey here in Houston and this vacuum has paid for itself twice over. It's bulky and awkward at times but I'll tell y'all that I get my exercise as I'm cleaning. Look, this dog and pony show is awkward. You got a sales rep that follows the script but knows nothing on how to sell or close the deal. As far as the product, it appears to be decent quality but not worth the high price. You realize it does a lot of things but if the main unit poops out -- your purifier, vacuum, shampooer is all out of service. For the size of our house we would need 2 units or schlep it around 7000 sq feet. Currently, 3 people can be vacuuming with a vacuum cleaner each located on a floor along with 3 steamers for hardwoods and all vacuums have horse hair attachments. We already have a humidifier that we can throw in beautiful extracts that smell marvelous. Come to find out that this rainbow has a variety of attachments (at even more cost).

Also, reps need to show up dressed professionally -- not in t shirt and jeans. A good sales person asks the right questions... and, have a 3 min elevator speech about who the company is, and return on investment. Know whose home you are going into... a CEO, housewife, so you can gear your audience. Lastly, I hope you have plenty of space and energy to store and use all this stuff. Nope. Sticking to my Oreck, Dyson, and my Shark (the best ever). One feature I loved though are the bags that sanitize blankets and pillows. Honestly, the unit is fine -- just over priced.

We bought several vacuums before in Australia but when we had a rainbow, we love it so much. Rainbow makes our cleaning easier and with no additional bags or filters. We tested it against our expensive Dyson and Kirby and yet the Rainbow still picks up whatever the other vacuum cleaners cannot. Overall, the Rainbow has already saved us time and money. As a bonus it can also aromatize, deodorize, sanitize and medicate the air. No more weird cooking smell because the Rainbow can eliminate them. We have found the Rolls Royce of cleaning. We are proud to have one and use one everyday.

We were asked to do a demo in our home for a friend. We agreed for them to come and demonstrate the amazing machine, with absolutely no intention to purchase the machine. We currently owned a Dyson Ball Animal. That I purchased 4 years ago for the price of $569.00. That being said, I thought it was doing a great job, boy was I wrong! We watched this machine pull dirt from the same place many times. We vacuum at least two or three times a week. The Rainbow is an amazing machine and sells itself. My biggest question was, where is it manufactured, I asked. The sales rep told me in Cadillac Michigan! I was shocked seeing how most everything is made in China now.

The performance of this machine had already won us over and it being built in the good U. S of A put it over the top for me. I know the machine is expensive, but a Dyson is no cheaper figuring in all the filters and plastic pieces that break and need replacing. Plus the Rainbow outperforms the dyson in every way. Can't get any easier than dumping a water container and rinsing it out. Wet dust can't fly. With all that being said we love this machine. It really is a whole cleaning package. Ours runs as an air purifier when not vacuuming and dusting. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a true clean home. It's so easy to use, most all the negative reviews are not deserving of the machines performance. Oh and it beats a Kirby too with a big stick. I know the price is high, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Almost forgot dyson will lose suction. Many times I have had to unclog the head, Just saying.

Said you don't have to use the perfume(s) you mix in the water, if you don't, the air in the room smells, and I am allergic to the perfumes. Went to stop by the store to see what they may suggest, store is closed, had a time clock sign be back at 2:00, went there at 3:00, no one there. They catch you at the local expo by having a jar full of money that you guess the amount on and you fill a slip with your info (and if you're a homeowner) and the amount of money in the jar and they pretend you won. I "won" because I'm a homeowner and that's their criteria. You'd think winning meant the money in the jar, right? Well you would be wrong.

The free gift is supposedly the small air cleaner, RainMate, but at the end of the 2 hour demo I found out you only get it if you give them friends' name and numbers and a few agree to a demo at their house... I don't think so. I'm not giving out my friends' and family's information. I just wanted the free gift I supposedly won which was a 3 day, 2 night FREE hotel stay with Vacations USA. Free my butt... You send in $29 which they're supposed to send you a letter, then you pick 2 destinations and 2 travel dates (why?) with another $12.40 per night. Then a travel reservationist will call you. Well, being me and always researching everything, I searched online about Rainbow before they came (so I already knew they were terrible) and I searched about this time 2 get away by Vacations USA after they left. The "free trip" is a timeshare scam. How ridiculous. I wasted 2 hours!

They were polite until they realized I wouldn't buy. Why would I buy a $2200 vacuum? It seems like it's just a dry steam-cleaner vacuum. I'm sure it cleans dirt and air (maybe, but who knows with the other reviews below) but it does not sanitize! He emphasized that you could mop with just water. "That's great John, but how does that sanitize my floor? And why would I buy an expensive vacuum?" I told them I'd only pay up front and I'm not willing to pay that price. He was trying to push me to the monthly plan. I refused... Why would I pay monthly for a dang vacuum? It's a fancy vacuum! I calculated their lowest monthly plan and it totaled $3800, way above their $2200 and who knows what kind of interest is on top of that.

He cleaned his unit and put it back in the bags which tells me that is NOT a new unit. When he was cleaning the top part that goes over the water bowl, I noticed a collection of dirt from vacuuming my floor had accumulated where the nozzle hooks in in the air intake and up underneath... It made me wonder about the maintenance and sustainability of the product. He cleaned out the water bowl in my sink and I actually watched him take out some of my dogs fur that was in the water and smear it on my counter top... Real passive aggressive there.

Then they left all the cheesecloth with dirt on my coffee table and left. Never asked where the trashcan was and didn't have anything with them to throw this dirt they collect out. He thought it was cute to say "my mom told me to never take what wasn't mine so I'll give you back your dirt" during the demo. "No John, you should have a small bag to take your cheesecloth demo with you." So I sat through a 2 hour demo AND I got to clean and disinfect the dirt and gross dirty fur glob he left on my granite counter top. I don't know how these people sleep at night knowing they're scamming people and their "free" vacation trip is also a scam. And of course they mentioned the equity program which I couldn't care less about. Yeah that's all I'd need... Another job. And from the reviews, it looks like they don't pay their people. Disgusting people.

However when I got done with my demos I sent them in to be verified and you can only have 4 renters and you can have more only if they buy. I got my email back and they told me that I had 6 renters so therefore I needed two more demos to replace the last two who were not homeowners and did not buy. So I took matters into my own hands and call the tax assessor's office and verified that in fact those two people did own their home. I don't know where they got their information from but it was clearly incorrect. They would not reply to me when I told them that. If I have to go as far as taking a picture of the deeds to the homes I will but it should not be that much trouble. Highly aggravated with this aspect of doing the program.

I bought one 10 years ago when we were building our house. They're expensive, ($2,500.00 back then) so I chose to buy the vacuum outright with cash instead of buying living room furniture. I figured a stupid couch will wear out but a vacuum that doesn't spray dust into the air was crucial, as I had a 18 month old toddler who used to follow me around behind the traditional vacuum and breathe in all the dust from the vacuum & it stressed me out! It is also fascinating to look at all the debris in the water bucket after you are done vacuuming, kind of like looking through an archeological dig. And if you mistakenly vacuum up a small toy or something it doesn't matter because you can always fetch it out later.

Both my sisters had Rainbow vacs before me & loved them. One sister said she vacuumed her son's mattress and there was all this cruddy brown stuff in the water she was shocked that the mattress was dirty at all. So it's been 10 years & I still love it. The idea that the dirt travels & gets captured through water intuitively makes sense, which is why I'd choose a rainbow vac over Dyson any day.

I just bought a Rainbow Vacuum and Cleaning System Saturday and LOVE IT!! The demonstration took longer than an hour, but we talked a lot and asked a lot of questions! We thought we knew everything about vacuums but we clearly did not and have been living in a dirty house our whole lives. The people that are complaining are mainly complaining about financing and not the ACTUAL VACUUM! Come on people! We just paid for ours right there and then because we knew which all the people below should have known that financing it makes it more expensive! Ours would have been $2900, but with the 21-year warranty for free and the vacuum attachment for free and the air fragrances for free because we purchased that day, it was $2197 or something like that!

We traded in a crappy ORECK and that got the price down as well! With all that I learned and all that I am getting out of my carpet, this was a deal! To know that people still have these from 1955 (they started making them in 1936) I am convinced that this was the best investment ever! If I know this for even just 10 years and don't have to buy bags, filters or 5 vacuums in that amount of time then I have easily made my money back. The fact that this is also a clean air system and not just a vacuum is a huge plus as well. When I used my old vacuums all they do is create more dust and make my house smell bad! The amount and dirt and bacteria I am getting out of the air in my house is amazing and disturbing at the same time! :) So happy for this purchase. If you are reviewing these reviews please do not pay attention to the financing ones... Base your purchase on the actual vacuum reviews and decide how you are paying on your own. :)

Without a doubt, I will never go back to another brand of vacuum ever again. I just realized a couple of days ago that I have own this thing for over 10 years now and I have never had an issue (knock on wood). When I first got it I used it in my housekeeping business. Since then, I have moved about 4 times since getting this vacuum and it works on any type of flooring I've had.

I don't know what all the hate is. If you got it financed through a shady company, review them, but not the product. And I will speak from experience on that. I did have it financed and I had a $1.50 "late charge" on my FINAL payment of the loan after I moved and never knew about this $1.50. And the bank took a huge portion of my loan written off as bad debt (I late learned companies get tax credits when they do this). Was I furious? You bet I was! But that had zero to do with the company that creates Rainbow and I dealt with the bank separately. If I upgraded to a newer model I would at this point in my life pay for it with cash and not try to finance something I cannot afford. Anyways... I will never ever go back to using a regular vacuum, regardless of the cost. Never.

In October of 2016 I was asked to do an in home product demonstration of the Rainbow Vacuum System by some friends of mine. They stated that if I did they would be able to receive a free attachment for their vacuum cleaner and that I did not have to buy anything. Being the good friend that I am and the informative buyer that I think I am, I decided to do some research prior to the in home demonstration. Prior to the demonstration my vacuum of choice was the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball. I went online and looked up the Rainbow systems as well as comparisons between Dyson and Rainbow.

By the end of my two hour research I was convinced that I would not be buying the Rainbow System and I contacted Lisa ** with Astonishingly Clean and advised her that I had done my research and that I felt there was nothing she could do to change my mind over to her Rainbow System as the Dyson was just as good a product and cost me much less. Lisa asked if she could still come by and do the demonstration for me and she said that there was no pressure to buy (Of course!). I told her that she was more than welcome to come by and do the demonstration but that I was steadfast in not buying her Rainbow System. She said "No problem" and we set a date and time for the Demonstration.

On October 28, 2016 Lisa and her Husband Darryl arrived at my home to demonstrate their Rainbow Vacuum System. The first thing Lisa did after introducing herself was to give me a free gift. She gave me a Rainmate air aromatizer and said it was mine to keep just for watching their demonstration. As Lisa and Darryl brought the Rainbow System and all of the attachments into my home, I again told her that I "100%" did not think she was going to be able to convert me from the Dyson to the Rainbow System and she said she just appreciated the opportunity to show me the Rainbow System. I told her about all of the research that I had done and I went on for about 20-30 minutes about how there was really no difference.

Lisa and Darryl listened to me and when I was finished Lisa smiled and said, "I love it when customers have done their research!", and she proceeded to unwrap the components of the Rainbow System and explain the workings of the Rainbow. The demonstration lasted approximately four hours, but that was only because we were talking as old friends while the demonstration was taking place. We were discussing our community and the fact that Darryl and I had worked for the same Department for years, all the while they were answering all of my extensive questions about the Rainbow System. At One point I realized and pointed out to Lisa and Darryl that this was the same vacuum from the show "Everybody loves Raymond episode "Humm Vac"".

One of the biggest things that stood out during the demonstration was comparisons to "Air Flow" and "Air Suction". In all of my online research this was never talked about and I wasn't knowledgeable enough to look for it because I just didn't know that this comparison was something that I should be looking for when researching Vacuum systems. Lisa and Darryl were very knowledgeable on this topic of comparisons and without a demonstration I'm not sure most buyers would think to look into this subject when comparison shopping for Vacuum systems. Most all vacuum systems use filters and when the filters become full with soot and fine dust it blocks the air flow but not the suction. I didn't know that. The Rainbow Vacuum System does not use filters. Lisa and Darryl cleaned several parts of my home (Another plus) while explaining each attachment that could be purchased separately to go along with the system.

Some attachments came with the system but for a more detailed all over cleaning there are several attachments that can be purchased, or "Earned". You earn attachments by assisting Lisa and Darryl in finding others that would be willing to have an in home demonstration. Even if they don't purchase a Rainbow System you still get the attachment for setting up the demonstration. After all of this time I felt no pressure to buy this Rainbow System, but after the knowledge of "Air Flow" and "Air Suction" and filters vs. no filters and seeing the water reservoir that holds all of the dust and dirt as you vacuum, I was sold. I am not a clean freak, but after you really "LEARN" what the Rainbow System is capable of I can not see how anyone would/could stay with a conventional vacuum cleaner. When I do clean I like my home to be "CLEAN" and the Rainbow System is a "CLEANING" machine.

The Rainbow System is not a cheap system and the price definitely made me pause as far as purchasing one, but with all I had learned from Lisa and Darryl I couldn't "not" own one. Ignorance is truly bliss and I was ignorant to vacuum systems and strictly went on what I saw on TV as far as how I chose to purchase a vacuum cleaner. Price was and always will be something that plays a part on my decision making when purchasing anything, but the knowledge that I gained from Lisa and Darryl on vacuums in general could not be denied. I challenged everything they said with what I had learned and by the end of the demonstration I knew Lisa and Darryl had converted me. I was now the proud owner of a Rainbow Vacuum System.

Lisa and Darryl went above and beyond to make sure that I truly understood what I was purchasing, how each part worked and attached to the system. They guided me as I used it making sure that I was hands on with the product and all parts and attachments that went with it, and to this day, six months later, they still keep in touch with me to see if I need any attachments or fragrances, (You add fragrances to the water to enhance the smell of your home while you clean) or any assistance reference my Rainbow System. Lisa and Darryl are great sales representatives for a great product that really sells itself, you just gotta know it's there and what it is really capable of.

And during the demo Jon showed me in my almost entire tiled house how to use the power nozzle on my tile floor. I have had to go in and get the power nozzle bristle pieces replaced numerous times now. They have very limited hours (evening only). I am not really available in the evening and driving across town to drop off and then again to pick it up each time is a huge hassle on my part. I have had to purchase two additional vacuums since I purchased this $5,000 vacuum from them because it is always broken!

And they are stating they only have a 3 day return policy - this is absurd. I went into this after a ton of research and was expecting an amazing product that would not have issues like this and great customer service but the product is always broken and if you can't ever get a hold of customer service then the vacuum is out of service for longer until you can get it fixed. Then they advised me to not use the power nozzle which clearly states it is for hard-face flooring on my tile floors because it is not meant for that.

David the service repair manager from the Sahara office was supposed to come to my house on Friday March 3rd at 9 a.m.. He didn't show up and then he texted me saying that he wasn't able to make it and that we should reschedule. My reply back to his text message asking telling him that I was available every morning the very next week except for Tuesday. He never responded. On Tuesday March 7th I texted him again. Ask him when he was able to come out. He confirmed that he would be here on Wednesday at 10 a.m., he was 27 minutes late. David was very rude and said that I neglected my Rainbow by using the power and also on the tile floor even though the website does clearly say can be used on hard surfaces and that he was going to avoid my warranty because of the use on my tile floor.

David said he's never seen a one-year-old Rainbow look as used as mine and that I must be abusing it. I stated that I use it 3 to 6 times a day because I have to use it after every meal and every snack time or anytime we do an arts-and-crafts project clean up the mess on the floor. He then threatened again to void the warranty on my Rainbow. I called only clean on March 8th at 12:17 p.m. and left him a voicemail asking the owner to call me back. I left my phone number and my name twice. I never received a phone call back.

I called Astonishingly Clean March 10th at 12:45 p.m. and Jennifer answer the phone. She said that she was a manager and then she got John on the phone. I spoke to John and he basically said that they are not going to allow me to return it because I'm past the 3-day return policy and that he is upset because I threw a tantrum and filed with the Better Business Bureau. And now he has to post a rebuttal, and deal with them. But because he's a good guy he is still willing to work with me and help me repair my Rainbow. John also stated for the first time today he might just replace the power nozzle. I just want to return the Rainbow vacuum for a refund. I have phone records, screenshots of the text conversation with David and pictures of my power nozzle that is always damaged.

However, I followed the guidelines for the Go4it program in order to receive my system for free. I completed my 12 demos in less than 90 days and the company honored their word and I received the money to pay off the system. I had 5 sales out of the 12 and I made my 13th sale. I will admit it was a lot of work but ultimately it was worth it. I received lots of incentives and all the attachments.

I only had two bad reps and I requested those reps not do any of my other shows. The other 10 were professional and thorough. I would go to a friend's house with a bottle of wine or a snack and watch them clean their house. Everyone who saw the demo loved it and it was no worries if they decided not to get it. So, it was a win- win. I got a great product for free. If I had 12 other friends and more time I would do it again. I will admit my other friends did not have my same experience but it's because they don't have the time to do the demos. I have one friend who finished hers within 30 days. I hope this helps.

If you've got all that crap in the basin after you vacuum or shampoo then your rainbow is working! Morons! If your carpet never gets 100% clean, then it's time for new carpet. You've trashed yours beyond belief by living like animals. Those of you complaining about financing, you signed the freaking contract! You wanted it, so you signed it to get what you wanted. You! Don't blame anyone else. We financed ours originally for about 2 years and paid it off. It's still saved me money on buying replacement vacuums and bags over an 11 year period. And it prolonged the life of our original carpet to 9 years. And it was cheap carpet! Rainbow is the best!

I absolutely loved the vacuum itself but the tactics they use are horrible not to mention if you don't have the 3000 to scoop out right then and there they have easy monthly payments but if you actually read it you're now paying a grand total of 6000 so I respectively ask for the return till I could pay in full. So now the manager or owner or someone whose ** clearly does not stink to them calls me, starts off nice and then when she realized my mind wasn't changing now I'm questioned on maybe I just can't afford it cause 100 a month is worth it... not when it equals 2x the price (just cause I love a car I'm not gonna pay 2x the money for it when I could wait and pay half) and they have a work for it program. She says "well we probably wouldn't even hired you from what it sounds like."

Like holy you not only temporarily had a sale but on hold but lost it all together. I can't complain about the product. I did really love it but just for how I was treated I am willing to pass it by. And there is no way to buy these without going through one of these consultants. We're cancelling the automated payment and contacting our attorney. High-pressure sales and empty promises were delivered and we got a defective vac and we did not get the fragrances or the humidifier or ANYTHING we were promised.

Rainbow lied to us and is now STEALING our money. Our daughter is 3 and does have allergies/asthma BUT she tested negative to the dust mite which is how you would get a prescription. They use this as a selling point but need to be more forthcoming about the information given. We would have purchased anyway because we know several people who have had them for long periods of time. So, this all started cause my fiance put his name in a mall drawing for a displayed John Deere riding lawnmower. He got a call saying we are part of the 25 finalists and won a 3 day, 2 night trip to a place of our choosing in the US and that logistics would be squared away via home visit. The first visit didn't pan out cause I was at work and apparently both parties need to be present. So yesterday the guy came with a Rainbow shirt on and discussed the trip for maybe 5 minutes (which was apparently only hotel inclusive, the plane or car ride expense wasn't included). Then he brought in a Rainbow and wasted our time by throwing a 3 hour show in our living room about a $3000 multi purpose vacuum cleaner.

Me and my fiancee make about 50k collectively which is not a lot plus a wedding we are funding. My fiance was in awe as was I but I couldn't stomach the price. I could get a used car for about that price. So we considered the item after hearing we could earn it before first payment by participating in and giving references to present the product. I told the guy I didn't want to make a decision till after the holidays and he was pushing the "you can keep it and not make a first payment till June starting the first of January". My fiance was all over that and we got it. After, I called my mom who told me she used to sell Rainbows and that the business is almost required to disqualify a certain percentage of visits to either gain out of pocket expense or interest.

I kinda made my fiance return the item within the 3 day cancellation period cause I did not feel comfortable with a company who scammed us into purchase, having our personal info. Nor did it feel right having to make a part time job out of merely paying off the item. I think it is a good product and works well, but it's not worth the price. You can get it new on amazon for 25% less and tack on a sufficient warranty for 1-200$ more or buy a different and even more efficient and higher rated brand for 700$ with a 10 year motor warranty. I am really upset that the rainbow company manipulates and misleads people into purchasing it by offering trips or what not and then throws in the sales pitch. Unethical. It is for that reason that even if I were rich, I wouldn't buy it.

After owning a Rainbow over a year, I have to write a review. Only, because every time I use it, (which is every day), I complain. First of all, I like a very clean home. I like how rainbow does clean. BUT this cleaner is the most disgusting thing I have ever had to clean. I think I'd rather clean a port-a-john than this machine. Well, it's probably about the same as a port-a-john! The bin that holds the water smells like death, a sewer, a constipated person, I don't know, whatever smell is the worse in your life.

It's SO bad that I have to take it outside to empty it. And thank god that I have woods in my backyard, or I don't know where I would empty it. Then, while emptying it, if a piece of hair or dog/cat/ whatever hair or human cell is in it, it sticks inside the water bin. I have to get a paper towel to get it out. Then, I have to take the smelly bin into my kitchen sink to clean it. Then I have to disinfect my kitchen sink and the surrounding area around my kitchen sink due to splatter. Then, you have to go hook the machine back up. It takes a good 15-20 minutes of my time to do this and more if I clean it properly because the attachment to the hose is also FILTHY WITH SMELLY GRIME! UGGH, I am not kidding.

I will never recommend this cleaner to anyone for this reason alone. I wish that I could attach the smell of this machine. Maybe, I'll make a video of the steps that you have to go through when you want to vacuum and post on youtube. I have to do this procedure 2-3 times a week. Again, it's disgusting. I now wear gloves. I paid $2,000 and like I said, it clean good, but... Like I said the smell of death... ALL I want to do is turn on my vacuum and clean. Occasionally, empty a container or change a bag. p.s. my family runs when I empty it. Oh, and the little bottle of air freshener does NOT HELP...

Rainbow does not pay you the complete money to pay for the Rainbow after taxes and interest from the 3rd party lender who pays Rainbow & gave you a loan. Next they disqualified your show for the stupidest reason if they don't get a sale. I did 16 shows as of today and only 11 qualified... Simple stuff as 1 of the couple work full-time but is on call because of her injury and the other that keep freaking me out is if 1 of the couple parent live in the home. It's call a multi-family home. It even gets worst if you tell the rep who is doing the show that the mother help with some bills because staying with them...

Now yesterday 10/20/16 I did a show thinking everything was ok because I didn't see anything wrong. About 20 mins later the rep Jason call to say your show was not qualified because it's a multi-family home due to the fact the mother live in the home & the husband told him she does help them pay their mortgage. Now mind you the mother already told the rep all 3 names are on the title because they just purchase the house together. He didn't find a problem with it then. We watch the demo for 2 1/2 hrs or more after he had a problem with it because they didn't purchase... Mr. Jason had the nerves to blob "he never seen a ** family lived like this before". Then Jason (rep) said "I'M not being racial or anything..." So what are you being then Jason?

He is a huge white man that kept pulling his XL t-shirt off his 5x belly & we didn't discriminate because that is not the way to treat people. If he didn't say what he said I wouldn't even go there right now. Jason DID not give the family the hotel weekend that was supposedly to be a token of their appreciation to each house they go into to do a demo purchase or not. I think Jason is rude & racist. Don't please don't take it unless you want to have sleepless nights. I have met a few nice rep but Mr. Jason is the worst.

I am giving them 1 star because you have to rate in order to give a review. First of all, I was pissed because my time was wasted. He said the demo would be 45 min to an hour. An hour later he is still rattling and I am tapping the face of my watch. I am not a fan of salesman when it comes to consumer sales and I definitely did not like the beat around the bush approach, casually and covertly throwing shade and trying to be witty but sounding like an ass. They give you the free gift (the mini air cleaner) but then yank out a big advertisement for a $3000 set of pots. NEXT. He pulls out a flood light and calls it a black light trying to show us the dust in the air. OK. What's your point? Then he pulls this huge thing out of the box, puts water in it and turns it on. YAWN. Ok so at this point I am like... "listen we are not interested. This "air cleaner" is way overpriced. We are not paying 3k for this."

I told him the price itself is not practical for working class people and although we could have purchased multiple units we were not because the price is ridiculous. He argues with me that he is right and to let him tell you why he is right. I told him "pack it up. I am not interested." As he is packing it up... He is consistently mouthing off about he goes through this all the time and who in America is "practical". I wanted to put my practical foot up his simple **. But I refrained from even responding to this nonsense. What I wanted to tell him was that he was an epic fail in the way he handled the entire demo from start to finish. When a potential customer challenges you, you don't get cocky and try to go word for word. You zip it and you be professional.

He was young, immature and tacky. I wouldn't have purchased one if he was polished however, a polished individual would not work for this company nor would they have behaved as he did... Which means this consumer complaint would have never been written. The quality of a company's employees directly reflect the quality of the company itself.

On the other hand, the McDonald's downtown will guarantee sloppy food from grumpy, unhappy employees. I bet they don't have that good of a team behind the scenes. Bottom line, see a demo for yourself and decide from there. Keep an eye out for pushy salesmen or ridiculous prices. Those people infect every type of work out there. I found out the hard way that the distributorship operated by Barrington Francis in Atlanta office is corrupted and dishonest. He has reps go out with Rainbow systems that appear to be new in the box. Actually they are mostly demo units that have been cleaned up and put back into new boxes. Here is what they do. They DEMO what they call a new unit and if you decide to buy it, then you get that unit.

Now what is wrong with that picture. Suppose you don't buy it, which their closing rate is around 50%. What the rep eventually told me was that the unit goes back to the office and they clean it up and send it back out for another demo as a new unit until it's sold. So this process can happen over and over again. The kicker is they have not just one rep doing demos, so you can imagine the number of units that are MISREPRESENTED as new and are actually demo units sold for $2700 with tax.

When I found this out and tried to return it, 2 days after the 3-day return policy, it was too late. I confronted Barrington with this information and asked him point blank if this is what they do. He refused to answer me. I am appalled and disappointed at this level of deceit. When I tried to talk with Barrington, he was rude, telling me to stop bothering him and hung up on me.

I bought it on a payment 18 mo plan. So I asked Barrington to cancel the order and call the lending bank. He refused saying it was past the 3-day time limit for returns. I called the home office and because these are independent distributors, their hands are tied which was another sign of how badly this company is operated. If the parent company has no control over lies and deception of people selling their products, then that speaks even worse of the integrity of the company and product. This has turned out to be a nightmare! Stay away from this company!!!

I had the displeasure of having a 4.5 hour long demo at my house for the Rainbow. While it is impressive, it does not merit taking up that much of my time. I have also had the horrific experience of being stalked and harassed by the salesman. He also did this with several friends and relatives after being told no repeatedly. This high pressure sales pitch coupled with the harassment absolutely astounds me as a preferred business tactic. I would NEVER support this company after what they put me and my friends through. The salesman also made up a fake program in order to "earn" a free Rainbow. This NEVER happened.

After a day of bogus training and other bogus house trips that were "supposed" to be trainings, the entire program was changed and his supervisor admitted it was made up entirely. They also had NO money to give a free Rainbow to someone who completed the program. Do not trust a company who lies and has extremely shady business practices. Go to Amazon or eBay if you want one-- much cheaper and no harassing salesman!

The whole time the rep was seeking sympathy for only having one car & used lines that was almost insulting to us as customers. I was impressed by the machine & now we are in the process of trying to refer other people to rainbow dealer. Show 12 & sell 2. The only problem is when I set one up the dealer never follows through & is able to show the product. Stories change & so far we have yet to show this to a friend. We no do not want to keep asking friends & family to see this product since our dealer is not able to help us out. High pressure sales tactics - will give you one for free if you do so many demos - that's a bold face lie. Way too expensive and extreme high pressure to sign you up today. Only reason I gave them one star is that it will not take your review if you don't.

Then they pull out the vacuum and show how much better than the one you currently. So they do their routine and you will obviously are impressed. Stop right then and there and throw them out the door. I was stupid thinking it's better than my Shark. They neglected to tell you how heavy it is so going up and down stairs is out of the question, it's TOO HEAVY. Plus they don't tell you anything about longer horse, nor about the cleaning the hardwood floors or tile, that you have to buy separately. I just bought 2 mos. ago and it's worthless. $3,000 gone for a worthless machine.

So, I entered a drawing for an air purifier at my cat's veterinarian office. Apparently I was chosen as a winner. They called me to tell me I won and insisted they drop the purifier off at my house. I asked if I could pick it up and they said no. So, I set a time for them to drop it off... A guy came over, brought a very different version of the purifier I entered to win, then asked if he could show me the big purifier. I said ok. This turned into an hour long demo then a 20-minute high-pressure sales talk to buy a $2800 air purifier. I said no many times and the price magically dropped to 1800. I still said no and the salesperson said most people could afford $50 a month... At this point I almost got hood on him. He also made me feel awful that I didn't help him win his monthly sales contest. Never enter a drawing for one of these purifiers. I felt very disrespected and caught off guard.

When I purchased this rainbow cleaning system, I was told that I could use a credit card. But since I was waiting for a new one in the mail, I decided to give my checking account info. After couple of weeks, I received a letter in the mail stating that my contract was purchased by United Consumer Financial Services. So I called them up immediately to pay this off by credit card, since that's what my original intent was. Customer service said they don't accept Amex.

So I called them back again to pay with a different card and to my disappointment, I was told that they don't accept credit card payment at all! With a massive interest rate of 25% per annum, which I don't want to fall into, I have no option but to pay in cash. The amount they financed was for $3k and I was only able to pay $2,500.00. After seeing the next bill, I was shocked that the pay off would be $637.63. Therefore, I was charged an interest of $137.63 in just a month!!! I contacted customer service and was told that that's what I signed for.

First, I was never told by the Rainbow agent that it will be financed by another company and the rate will be this humongous. Second, I was not even given any reconsideration to have this interest get lowered even I already paid almost all of it during the first month. This financial firm would just suck your money away! After reading a lot of bad reviews about them, I decided to just pay this off so that I won't deal with them anymore. So beware of this scheme! As for the rainbow product, it didn't help with my allergies at all. I do recommend it as a vacuum cleaner but it's too pricey for one.

A company I worked with in the restoration and museum industry will not use anything else on 16th century tapestries actually and the Rainbow company replaced several motors on their 20 year plus models. Never have I seen so much pulled out of a carpet and the water dumping was super easy. While I dislike the company's pushy nature and sales reps, I wouldn't buy any others anymore. The quality of the equipment well makes up for the price as it works well for a very long time and they are pretty good about replacing warranty parts.

I grabbed my lover after work and charged over. These (2) 25 year-old college students, very handsome, said, "You must be the daughter," and started packing up, while starting the sales pitch on me. I walked over to the receipt. The man was holding the signed check from my mother for $3200. I literally gasped. I saw my mother's face change, and she realized she had made a TERRIBLE mistake.

I marched up to the man and growled, "Hand her the back the check." VERY lucky he didn't have an app on his phone to deposit immediately. He stalled and hemmed and hawed, and I threatened to call the cops. (WISH I HAD.) He gave her the check and she tore it up. The "Original price was $6000 (WHO THE ** BUYS A $6000 VACUUM FOR A HOUSE!) but with her medical discounts, it was half price." In a very low, I-mean-business tone, I stated, "Get. Out." I purchased a rainbow vacuum for my mother a number of years ago as a gift. The product exceeded our expectations. Although different in structure and design from many vacuum cleaners that use bags to collect dust (rainbow uses water), this vacuum displays excellent cleaning capabilities. It traps dust and debris in water. The collected debris is not fun to empty, but does demonstrate how much dirt convention bag vacuums sometimes miss. My only regret is that the Rainbow vacuum costs so much today, it is quite expensive when many competing products sell for a few hundred dollars. I would recommend the Rainbow cleaning system to everyone. It is an excellent product and very well built.

Funny how the major complainers are those who can't or won't afford this best cleaning system ever. You can't beat water for cleaning, no one has to convince anyone. Just see and decide for yourself like I did. Use your own judgement and don't even believe my word for it, see for yourself. Being open minded to awesome things in life is not for the average to see or have. Never having heard of the rainbow I watched the demo for the sake of being open minded and the words "clean" earth friendly 10 in 1 machine.

I wasn't embarrassed about dirt being pulled from my carpet, because I knew how much I cleaned and cared yet there was always a smell even after vacuuming not to mention causing us stuffiness in our home even with windows and doors opened daily. I was happy to kick my 2 vacuums to the curb and giving it to seller, they were filthy and knew deep down they weren't doing squat. I did not need to be convinced, my husband after not wanting to watch demo totally understood the concept which I did not, all I cared about was clean, breathing, and the big value the system has.

Just like when buying any gadget, you want the best and biggest value, and the Rainbow is it. I even asked people who I found out had it, they love it. Regardless what the heck salespeople or demoers do, the rainbow is special and awesome bc does what it says. If you don't have one you won't experience what it does for us owner who love it, use it and see the benefits.

No bad smell in my home, smells fresh, feels clean, all gets pulled into water, ALL, dirt never blows out like filthy vacuums, purifiers or all that nonsense that is a waste of money. Next time you visit someone you know and they open their door, just smell the whiff of smell that comes out of their home, you'll know they don't have a rainbow. How does you place smell every time you enter your home?

I wouldn't even buy a dollar mop, not worth my $, not to mention my swiffers that broken, not worth it. I use my own PURE ESSENTIAL OILS with the Rainbow not the ones from the company since they are chemical based. Like I said, use your own sense and judgment if you have it. The rainbow is worth our health, my families breathing, cleanliness, happiness, satisfactions, time, money etc. If you don't watch a demo for yourself, then you won't know what anyone here is commenting about. Decide for yourself. Don't be a puppet, make your own educated decision. If you don't understand big value, then Rainbow is not for you. If you like nice, exclusive worthwhile things in life, then Rainbow is one of them. If REAL cleanliness, HEALTH, is a priority to your home, YOU WILL LOVE THE RAINBOW regardless of how much money you lack or do have.

I am on my 2nd rainbow, not because it broke, but because I wanted to upgrade and I love the new rainbow so much more, and how it cleans the air. Our little one does not have to take her allergy meds anymore and the best part is we are not in the ER every weekend because of her allergies being so bad. We had a friend come out to show us the new rainbow, and of course we fell in love with it. No I could not pay for it at that time, so we did a payment plan. But the best part of the payment plan was I DID NOT PAY FOR MY RAINBOW!!! I DID GET IT FOR FREE!! Rexair has an awesome and amazing opportunity to where you can actually get your investment back, and that is exactly what I did. They gave me 90 days and all I had to do was show it to 20 people, and only had to sell 1 after the 20! That is the easiest thing in the world.

Plus, not only did I do it in 3 weeks, and get my rainbow for FREE, but I also made money to pay off some of my bills and won a free trip to CANCUN! And you can find rainbows online for cheaper but beware of what you are getting. Rexair gives you an 8 year warranty on your rainbow and 4 years on all your parts. When you buy online you are probably getting a used refurb and not a brand new one. And your machine probably does not have the appropriate serial numbers on them, and if that is the case Rexair will not warranty it. If you want a true rainbow, brand new with the warranty, then I suggest you find a distributor in your area, or go to your local rainbow store, not a vacuum store, and not online.

And in your water basin when you run it all the time (24 hours a day) you will see dust particles and hair in your water, because it cleans the air to make it a cleaner healthier place to live. Oh and the problems with your dirt blowers, (vacuums that use canisters or bags) is they hold BACTERIA, and every time you run it you are blowing bacteria back into the air that you breathe into your lungs. I highly recommend a New Rainbow to everyone I know. Oh and 1 more thing about Rexair (Rainbow), they are a word of mouth only company. That is why they say "If you like us awesome, send us to your friends. If you don't like us then don't". I have referred many friends and family. Several have bought new rainbows and some have not. No one was pushed into anything and I still got everything I was promised and then some. Very happy customer here!

As I was waiting to visit my family my parents were very impressed and knows how I vacuum and carpet clean a lot so they said "come check it out." "No thanks." But at the end of the demo the lady said my parents could get a free gift for just seeing a demo. What the heck. So I agreed. They found someone 1 1/2 where I live to come out and do a demo (San Diego county). They came out and very nice sweet uppity. We had a Kirby and understand good vacuums cost money (had Kirby for over 10 + years was quite a bit of money but knew they could lower it which they did and instead of thousands it was hundreds) BUT sales people also get commission. So we are watching.

My entire family suffers from several allergies. The thing that got me was how easy it is to clean. Whenever I use my Bissell carpet cleaner I take it apart completely and clean it out. After each use so no mold or nasty stuff grows. (Most people don't.) With the Rainbow it's just the bucket and filter. AWESOME. We didn't want to pay the ridiculous amount of 4500 or whatever so we told her "thanks for showing us but no thanks." Instantly she turned rude and told us "you just said you like it!! What 4500 is more than your family is worth? That's kind of pathetic." I then got upset but not before my husband stood up and said "excuse me!" She apologized and said "how about this. you like it so much if I bring it down to 2000." I said "hell no." Even if I loved it and had the money I wouldn't just because of the customer service. She again apologizes and said "it was a long day. I've been here for 4 hours and it's late. Sorry."

She said she will leave it here no signatures or payment but just so we can kind of play with it and see if we like it and for her behavior she will throw in a few extra scented bottles, my parents will still get their gift and I will get the same thing they did plus a mini humidifier. We did have to sign a paper saying she will be back to pick it up on Monday but no payment is expected as long as we give it back. Lo and behold she had a carbon copy where it said I would pay and wanted to keep it. I wanted her gone and she left saying she will be back on Monday... whatever. I used it and see how it works which I do like. But still won't buy anything from someone that treats their customers like that. She called Monday and said "how would you like to try it out for another week." I told her "no thanks." We know we aren't going to buy it. She said "ok well I can't pick it up till later in the week. But go ahead and use it if you want."

I cleaned it out and packed it up already for pick up. Ready for her to take it. I kept calling and leaving messages. On their website it said something about AFTER 3 days you are fully responsible so even though I was just trying it and didn't buy then cancel I wanted to cover my bases and make sure it's gone before the 3rd day. Then called the office to speak to the manager so I could get them to pick it up but he said "according to the paperwork you bought the machine and we haven't received payment. If payment isn't received today in full or set up then we will be going to court. And trust me you do not want to do that." I said "she left it here so we could try even though we didn't want it because her poor CS." He said he can't believe that because this was his top seller and head leader. It's true!! He then told me I better make payment or else.

I asked him if he is threatening me and said "I'm leaving your machine out front for pick up. She said she couldn't come pick it up until later this week but I want it gone immediately." He said "don't do that, hold it inside please." (Ya like I should help you now.) I understand where the rude behavior is instilled. I then asked to speak to his manager and he said he is the regional for all of California. I said "you still have someone above you." He said "no this is my company and I own all of them." Well if this is true I told him, "I'm sorry and hope that no one else gets scammed by your company or employees but Karma will come around." He then accused me if I saw it cheaper online and that's the reason why I don't want it. I said "I thought she said you can't buy them online. And only through distributors." He then changed and said "ya ya that's true." (which is not true... I bought one read the end.)

The sales lady called a few weeks later apologizing for her manager's behavior and told me he can get very angry when he has someone return the product. Because it's such a waste of our time and money. WTH. She also said she knows how much I liked it and was willing to sell one of the ones she won for 1500. She said over the last year she has won numerous vacations and 10 brand new rainbow vacuums (FREE). She said "so if you really want it just pay cash and I can give it to you right now." She said she just finished a demo and would come by and drop that vacuum off after she cleans it up a bit. AGAIN WTH. I told her no. She got upset and said "I thought you wanted to help me and my kids." I said "I thought you wanted to actually help me and my kids but I guess you have a different motive in mind."

She said the ones they win within the company for free they get to sell at any price and gets to keep the money or keep or give the vacuum away. So beware. The company itself is horrible. The vacuum I think is pretty good but does suck to have to clean out the tub after each vacuum (I vacuum a lot.) also making sure the tub has water in it at all times. Also I don't see the water inside the tub full of dust, particles and whatever else is in the air in my water ever. I've tested it and not vacuumed a few days in a row and made sure the water level was good but it stays clear. I even did the light under to check. So unless my house is dust free or particle free with a family of 6 and dogs then I'm not sure about their claims. So after this whole ordeal with this company I didn't want to buy this machine whatsoever even if it was the best on the market.

Customer service is what keeps a business Rollin and the treatment from the employee and manager/ owner was horrible. But my husband did some research and found this $4500 vacuum brand new (might have been a "cleaned up vacuum" or he won it) but was only 400. I was still iffy but we went ahead and did it and it came in and looked brand new. For anyone looking to buy one. Look online. I was able to register it with Warranty even though the sales person and manager said then we can't. Or just don't buy one. This was the latest black Rainbow. They aren't with the BBB and have lots of complaints.

My Rainbow vacuum is 34 years old, having cleaned up after 4 kids and multiple animals. I took it in for servicing periodically. It does better than any vacuum out there. Yes, it's expensive but how many other brands last even 10 years? All these complaints are about the independent sales people trying to make big bucks. I know mine is due to give up the ghost; hoped we could go together, but I WILL buy another Rainbow, even if it is reconditioned. After all, I'm 80. I love my Rainbow.

Going in, I could have told you that no vacuum is worth $2,400. But the sales presentation was good and spoke to concerns we have - keeping our 100 year old hardwood floors in good condition, keeping up with LOTS of pet hair, keeping air quality high, and minimizing our impact on the environment - and we made the leap.

Eight years later I cannot count the number of times that I have uttered "I HATE this vacuum!" Most importantly, it is cheap. The hose and the plastic casing around the hose that leads to the wand has cracked from normal use and the suction has never recovered. The water bowl has broken, which seems to have affected the suction too. Contrary to their hype, the vacuum blows pet hair AWAY from the vacuum head. The wand has a raw metal edge, so it easily mars walls when trying to get to a tight spot. And the thought of lugging this huge contraption up the stairs honestly makes me shy away from vacuuming on some days. We can buy a new hose and connection but the idea of sinking more money into a vacuum I hate sickens me.

Other things: At purchase time we were told we'd get a free shampooer if we delivered three referrals to the company. We did. THEN the company said "Sorry. No go, because the referrals didn't want to book an appointment with us." Well you know what? We still gave you valid leads. You still invaded our friends' personal time. The fact that you couldn't close an appointment doesn't mean we should lose out. Also, a year ago Kirby came to our door and did a demo. The Kirby picked up TONS more dirt than the Rainbow did. The Rainbow is a shady product, as is their organization. Save your money and buy something (anything) else!

I met a lady at my place of work. Was super posh and a happy person altogether. I noticed multiple boxes in her car with bright colors and by this point I was comfortable enough to ask her what they were. She had been our customer for over a year and I would have liked to think we had that consumer company relationship most business strive for. She told me she sold Rainbow and would love to give me a presentation. She had mentioned something about a humidifier so I assumed that is what she was selling. We agreed to a time where she could come down and thus it started. She showed us the humidifier two days later and told us it was a gift. I was shocked, so sweet! Then she brought out the vacuum. We told her outright we were not going to get it. She insisted on showing us anyway. Not wanting to hurt her feels we agreed to see what it could do.

I honestly fell in love with the product, but it felt like she was trying to sell my mom, not so much me. The price was ridiculous, and they only offered 600 for our Kirby, which had originally costed almost the same price as the Rainbow. Around 3200. However, me and my mother seriously debated getting it. We talked for nearly 20 minutes before deciding against it. I wouldn't pay for more than 1800, no vacuum is worth more than 2 grand. The lady left in a storm. I apologized for wasting her time, offered the humidifier back, even offered to give her referrals. She stated she didn't need customers, and left in a huff. Two weeks later... she began attacking me at work. Claims I ruined her; lied to her; even stole her merchandise. My bosses came up to me and told me the accusations. I was mortified. I am mortified. The attacks continue. I gave the humidifier to my boss to return. And at this point I fear for my safety. I am disgusted.

I specifically asked, "Is it one of those timeshare sales deals where they try to talk you into buying a timeshare?" And the salesperson said, "No, absolutely not. It's just a free two-night stay in a hotel!" After I mailed in a check for my $50.00 "refundable" deposit for this vacation, I received a phone call from the travel company and they stated that yes, on the second day of the hotel stay, I must attend a mandatory 120 minutes long time share presentation!!! And I don't get my $50.00 back until I complete that! Plus, the refund is in the form of a check, mailed to me later (so now I'M worried I will never, ever receive that refund either). Just wanted to let anyone else know, if you ever talk to anyone about this. If they offer you a free vacation, it's a timeshare presentation -- two hours out of your only full day on the vacation. I was very skeptical. I didn't see how this could possibly be a better vacuum than my expensive one. My husband bought it and piece by piece it won me over. First, it's not just a vacuum. There was a fire and it smelled terrible. We shut the house up, turned on the rainbow and the air was clean and clear in minutes. Hmmmmm, my vacuum couldn't do that. This breakthrough was quickly followed by: all the dirt and dog hair that came up AFTER I just vacuumed with the old one. I didn't have to buy bags, I sucked up a scorpion (on purpose) and didn't have to wonder if it was alive crawling around in the bag!!! I started to notice the carpets looking better too. Bouncier. Using water as a filter is so awesome. Once you experience it, you won't go back. The funniest/grossest thing I have used it for is to clear out the GIANT wad of toilet paper my grandson put down the toilet. No plumber, no declogger, just some extra time sanitizing it!

A perk is that my house looks great, too (much better than when I used to swiffer)! One handed me a bottle of Tide laundry detergent and told me his company was opening a 'cleaning store' on our main street close to Dollar General. I told him I wasn't interested in anything he was selling and he said he wanted to show me how to keep my carpets clean. I told him I had wood floors. He wanted to see them and without thinking I let him and his friend in. The second man went to the car and started carrying in boxes. I told them I wasn't interested and they continued. To make a long story short, the demonstration of the Rainbow sweeper took two hours. Then the hard sell came after telling me several times how dirty my house was.

Again over and over I told them I didn't want it. I'm 79 yrs old, on a fixed budget and can't push a sweeper. I was offended several times as he continued to tell me how dirty my house was. They were very aggressive and I was not about to give in. They talked with their supervisor and got the payments lower etc. I couldn't afford $3006.00 if my life depended on it. She self-proclaimed herself as a feisty Italian from New York. What amazed us was the speed of her speech. It was an amazing spiel-not once did she repeat herself, was in full control of her information. She proceeded with demonstration which if it can be believed is awesome.

After 2-l/2 hrs and all tools laid out on the floor, water grey black (black mesh they used in demo in water to darkened it) she tells me the price WHICH DIFFERS FROM OTHER COMMENTS ON THIS SITE. EVERYONE HAD A DIFFERENT PRICE QUOTED. Mine was $4900, but could have it for $2695 if I used credit card and agree to time payment of $50/mo. Really?? She wanted referrals, told her would not submit my friends to it. She asked what I expected price wise. I honestly told her $900. She huffed, packed her stuff and left. I have been through demos with Kirby and yes, they embarrass you, showing you how dirty your house is and how you're jeopardizing your health, could be true. However, not at these prices.

I purchased a Rainbow air purifier/cleaner over a year ago and it is truly the best investment I could've possibly made. It is the last cleaner I will ever need to have for every inch of my house. I actually read some of these reviews while deciding to make my purchase and I am so happy I decided to purchase one! I have to say some of the people make absolutely no sense! I saw what the Rainbow did for my home in the short time the rep was here. That was proof enough. I decided to get the machine off of what my own eyes saw. I am glad that I didn't listen to any of the people who wrote negative reviews.

When I read that someone bought it online that is the dumbest thing you can do. By buying from the rep in your home you get a warranty. That warranty is only allowed through Rainbow. Why would you want to buy a used, older Rainbow online?? That's disgusting. I find that the rep that was in my house was not pushy at all. He showed me and told me all I needed to know in order to make my decision. And I am grateful that he showed me everything. It is everything I saw that made me make the best decision I could make health wise for myself and my family. Also financially it made sense! I don't ever have to buy another cleaner or anything after market. What you get with the machine is all you need. I ONLY recommend the Rainbow. It is the only thing that truly cleans and does everything it is supposed to do each and every time I use it.

So two men show up and one says he's going to get me the gift card while the other man does a "demonstration of the air purifier." The next thing I know this man is lugging in multiple boxes. I figured since they were here I might as well be polite, it would be a quick demonstration, and I did win a gift card (at least I thought.) Two hours later the second man returns and starts pushing us to buy a Rainbow Vacuum that costs $4,000. He's very rude, mentions all the dirt it picked up and starts using my 2-year-old daughter to try to guilt me into buying this machine saying it's unhealthy to not have this vacuum blah, blah, blah.

After a good half hour of politely refusing to buy it, they finally start packing up. I mention my gift card (they said nothing about it since they arrived and the 2nd man "went to pick it up"). The man says he has to run his equipment out to the vehicle and grab it for me. I walk out to meet him and he hurriedly gets into his vehicle and leaves. I cannot believe anybody would consider this good business practice. I am very angry that they are doing this to people. Well it's to sell you an overpriced Rainbow Vacuum! Unfortunately, we fell for it, bought it under the condition we have 3 days to change our mind. I have severe neck issues and although the vacuum worked great at cleaning, my neck could tolerate the difficulties of using such a cumbersome vacuum. Called to cancel, sent a certified letter to cancel (required) and thankfully we cancelled the check!! Months later our $20 certified letter was returned as "unclaimed", ha! Had we not cancelled the check, we would be stuck with a very expensive vacuum that I can't use. They still pressured us to "try this, we'll give you these attachments free", showed up over an hour late to pick it up (we left by then) scheduled a second pick up and he was late again and very rude!

I should have played the game and stalled on returning it, because after a certain amount of time, if they don't pick it back you keep it for free, but it wasn't worth dealing with pushy, dishonest sales people. I could not get that on. Very unhappy with the new Rainbow, sorry I purchased it. So I went back to the Kirby which is a much better vacuum cleaner. All I can say is I'm very sorry that I bought the new Rainbow. Does not compare to the Kirby. They tell you the Rainbow filters the air, do you ever see dirt in the water or any discoloring in the water? No, because Air does not go through the water, just goes over the top, makes the water Whipple to make you think like it's going to the water.

I have an eco-quest fresh air cleaner, it really works. You can see the dirt on the filters versus seeing that dirt in the water. The dirt in the water, there is no dirt so the Rainbow vacuum cleaner is not clean the air, or your couches, or your beds like the curve he does. My old Rainbow vacuum cleaner did a much better job than the new Rainbows. That's all I have to say right now that he made it by the Rainbow vacuum cleaner nowadays you're wasting your money.

She won't be able to give me my prize if (the husband) isn't in the house. I explained to her that there is no husband and I live with a roommate. But she insisted that if he isn't there I can't get the prize that I won in a draw that I participated. Just a ridiculous excuse to not give you the prize. I don't understand why they called me at the first place if they will come with all this excuse and restrictions to not give the prize away. I could've be a potential client and after this experience, no thank you.

I signed up to win a free air purifier when I attended the Women's Expo. I received a call that following week saying I had won a $200 air purifier. But, in order to receive my prize, I had to agree to schedule an appointment for delivery and setup. I also had to agree that my spouse and I would be available to view a demo of the big sister "Rainbow". I was not under any obligation to purchase anything and could also win a 21 pc. high end pan set for referring 3 more people.

Come to find out, everyone I had gone with to the event also received the same call. I became somewhat skeptical, so when the woman from their office called to confirm my appt. I confronted her about my findings. She became short and angry and asked, "well do you want the air purifier or not?" I asked how long the demo would take and she said 30 min. That turned out to be almost 3 hrs. The sales rep was very professional, nice and presentable. He offered to give me a discount to trade in for my Oreck, which of course I responded "no way". He then offered to give me the same discounted price which was $2,400.

Needless to say, I did not purchase the Rainbow. 1) The Rainbow did not have pressure once adding the extension to the vacuum, leaving small particles on the carpet. 2) The steam cleaner on the rainbow did nothing but leave my carpet damp and flat once dry and didn't appear clean at all. 3) The built in air purifier which is supposed to be excellent for allergies and asthma and could leave on low 24/7. 4) It was too loud and even on low it made a high pitch ringing sound. It didn't sell me b/c my Oreck does a much better job in all areas of this all in one product. My Oreck vacuum leaves my carpet clean and brings the soft fluffiness back in my carpet. My Oreck carpet/floor cleaner and air purifiers do a wonderful job.

Last but not least, this piece of work had too many attachments, takes up too much space and appeared to be way over priced. The demo did not meet my expectations. Therefore, I'm glad I told the sales rep that I could not make a rash decision on purchasing something so expensive without doing some research. I'm so glad I did not make an impulsive decision. Thanks to all the reviews, I'm sure I made the right decision in keeping my Oreck. What's the old saying? "If it's not broken, don't fix it". I would not put anyone through a 3 hr demo that I was not comfortable with so that's the end of that ordeal.

I purchased a vacuum from Rainbow. I was told that to receive parts that I needed I would have to give them names and addresses of 4 people & schedule appointments to be completed in 2 weeks. I was told each person or couple, as the case may be would receive a free RainMate. The first 2 appointments were kept and different reasons were given for them not receiving RainMates. When I called the salesman to ask why, I was given other reasons. I looked on my contract and found I was in the 3 days from date on the contract. They refused to pick up the machine or return my money. I told them I would be seeing a lawyer and they said they go to court all the time so it wouldn't matter to them. The corporate guy even came out bearing gifts, which he took back, and called the company a "Christian" company. I am sorry I ever let them in my house!! I warned the next appointment to consider canceling.

I picked up a 20 yr old Rainbow at a garage sale for $400.00. Best vacuum I ever bought. I've bought every kind of vacuum you can think of and all eventually broke. By either my wife or my 9 kids. The rainbow still works 20 yrs later. The carpet beater froze up from non-use. Because the wife and kids complain from the hard work of putting water in the vacuum bowl. "REALLY"?? It purifies the air by sucking everything through the water whirlpool (as I call it). My wife has allergies and when I secretly vacuumed the bedroom with the rainbow? "Wow no allergy attack". It maybe overpriced but the old ones I can vouch for. I tried to buy a 30 yr old Rainbow at another garage sale and the seller would not budge off his $800.00 price saying it still works like new. I didn't buy it. But if mine ever breaks, I will look for another one.

Over several moves a lot of the accessories have been misplaced but I still had the motor canister and the vacuum head and accessory hose. It has tumbled downstairs while running, it endured 1 very active puppy and 2 active kids. My father-in-law thought I was crazy for spending $1200.00 on a vacuum. But I used that vacuum 21 years. I recently had to stop using it due to a high pitched squeal coming from the machine. I miss my Rainbow. I currently cannot afford to purchase another one but I am counting the days till I can.

To be honest with everyone who live in Saint Paul or Maplewood MN or Oakdale. Here is my problem with this two. The Rainbow store I bought my brand new rainbow from is in the Maple Wood one on April 29 2011 the last Rainbow e2 blue 2 speeds. And two year later in 2013 Feb my rainbow have been broke. And I did follow the direction like what they told me before I bought the vacuum. And they say that it's 8 years warranty on everything and the unit too. They told me that these new rainbow, the separator it can wash itself and clean it own self and motor too. And I bought it and follow like what them say. And like when it hit to 2013 Feb it's broke. And I take it to the Maplewood shop to fix it. And in April I go check it out and they have not done fix it yet. And we say "We'll be back soon then." And when it's June 2013 we went back and check it out again. And they still have not fix it at all yet for us.

And the service guy that going to fix our Rainbow to us his name is **. And he say that we need to pay him $600 in order he can fix it because the motor and everything's got wet and flood the unit that why is all broke and not working. And we say that "It's still under the warranty" and he say "No that is not it. No." And he ** at me and my dad us and we were like "Ok forget it" and we all were ** at each other for like good 1 hour and a half. And he just start saying that do we know that he got life and kids and wife at home that he need to go home now. He got no time to deal this ** with us and the time for them to close is not yet, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and weekend 10-7 pm. And we went on weekday and was around 3 pm and he act like it's time to close. And he just being so rude to me and my dad us and we'll just like say "Ok whatever. We'll bring someone to come to talk to you soon."

And he call me name and thing that I can't speak English clearly. And I have no grammar and he can't understand what I'm try to say to him and ** so he got me mad that I was about to fight with him and my dad just tell me that "Hey son, let go." And I was like "ok ** let go." And he just don't say ** and we just say "Ok we'll be back soon when we find someone that can speak clearly." And he just don't say ** and just do a mad face and mean face to me and my dad us. And we say bye many time. He don't even answer us at all and we just like whatever and left out the store.

And then for the past months he have not call us at all that if our Rainbow got fix it or not. And in June 2013 we went back to the store in Maplewood and few of them say "It's lost. It's gone. We don't know who stole the rainbow." And ** and more and me and my dad us got mad and ** about to call the cops on them. And we know who did it already. And we know who is the person stole our rainbow repair already and yeah his name is **. And he now move to the new Rainbow distributor and he no longer work in here anymore. And we're like wtf. Ok and we gone back to home again. And I keep contact Rainbow company Rexair for help and things and Rexair didn't help me at all and anything. And Rexair didn't email me back at all too and yeah my Rainbow got lost and stolen by one of the employee in Maplewood MN Rainbow store and yeah. And Rexair didn't help me at all.

Over the 2013 summer until the end of July 2013 I can contact ** one of the guy in Maplewood shop to and he give me the owner of the Maplewood rainbow store. And I call him and explain the story to the owner name Eric Sampson. And he did help me and he say that "** is just a fake worker" and he not suppose to treat me and my dad us like that. And if our Rainbow is still under warranty it should be repair for free and yeah. And he say just "Come to the shop" and we'll look for our Rainbow and yeah. Since that August we went there and we can't find our Rainbow that is e2 blue 2 speed and in a box. It's not there anymore and he say ** have been move to go work the new shop at Oakdale with ** and yeah. And Eric say "It's lost then ** have must taken it with him to the new shop or use the part to fix other Rainbow too."

And we're just like wtf. And Eric the owner guy in Maplewood rainbow store he let us walk in to the service repair spot to see if we can find our Rainbow. And we can't find it at all. And I found one that is e2 blue that is like our and I told him that "My is like this one but this is not the one. My is in the box with all part out service." And he say "Oh ok ** have must taken it." And he sorry that he don't know what going on. But if I'm ok he can fix that one e2 blue that I found in under the sink like my to him and he will fix it for free to me. And repair that one to me for my lost one and replace for my rainbow that ** have been stole it from me. And I say "yes sure." And Eric say it going to take him like couple days to fix it for me. When it's ready he will call me.

And when it was August 1st 2013 he call me that he got been fix me the Rainbow that is like mine. I can go get it anytime now to use it and that is the same like mine that got lost and stolen. It will be replace my warranty continue to my brand new one e2 blue. And I say ok and now that got cover it all up from Eric the owner guy from Maplewood MN rainbow distributor in MN. And we talk to him that why ** being like this and what and he say "** is just stupid and yeah. And we say "ok Eric thanks. We'll call you anytime when it's broke." And he say "ok and enjoy it." And ever since that I just contact him almost every week and yeah. So I feel like after he fix the problem of ** with me and I just start to support him. And buy some product off use from him like $100 for all the thing and yeah to my Rainbow.

And around September we went back to him and buy air freshener. And my dad us ask him that can me make us a unit and system that is the Rainbow SE model. And he say sure and he did it for us. And like two days later we went back and see and he did the right one but my dad don't like it and yeah. And we got tell him make another one and yeah. And he did make the original Rainbow SE this time. And we went on October 1 2013 and yeah we bought it for 250 suppose 500 but yeah we deal kinda hard to with him and yeah. So we're to happy to take the Rainbow SE to home and we didn't check every things and the electric nose were ripe and we didn't know. And I contact him so many time to get us a new useful hose to change this one ripe one. And he say "sure" first time and didn't got it. And the second time we went back to him and he say if we can find someone to buy one of his Rainbow then we'll get the brand new electric hose for free.

And we say "sure and bye." And two days later he say he have found someone already that bought it. Sorry for us. He got no more hose available for us and if we want we can just buy that one from him. And we say to "it's too expensive and yeah." And we say "whatever." And I keep contact him so many time to find us a hose and I call other store as well too. It the one where ** work at only other and his and yeah no he can't find one at all for us and we were just like ** it. And my dad say "son forget it we know who they is now don't ever go support them and yeah."

So ever since that I didn't contact Eric anymore. And that just make me say to myself that they got bad bad customer service really big time and fake employee, fake worker, fake team working together. Can't get alone to one to another and can't get alone with their customer that is why they lose their customer and the store is because of this. Want money but don't want to help the customer at all for the customer need and service and help. So this is why the shop is now dead and for lease to the state and city. And me and my dad were about to go sued ** to the court that being rude to us in the first place but we're like ** it and yeah about sued them dirty ** to the court. But we say "No forget it and yeah." And the store have been close ever since 2014 January and yeah the one in Maplewood MN.

And now ** is working the one at Oakdale and he now day still have a bad service, mean attitude to me a lot and he just one most mean as vacuum guy in this world that he treat us Asian customer bad and get us bad time and yeah. And he even click on us and hang up on me while not done talking with him and I call him during day time and he say that do I know that he got wife and kids need to take care so can I stop calling him. It's not the time to call him for my Rainbow ** and he just click on me and ever since that happen to me few time. And I just say to myself that I'll never ever ever go support this white trash old guy name ** in this life. I'll even tell everyone not go to support him at all and I just like whatever ** it and yeah.

This is my Experiment from my own Rainbow shop where I live at MN. And ** say that Eric is now is in jail and his business is now close and over he got lock up and be in jail because of problem with them at the shop in Maplewood. And we ask Eric. And Eric say "No ** just mad and jealous." And now that they just don't care and don't talk to each other anymore and yeah. All them ** up Eric shop in Maplewood now and yeah. They all hate on each other forever ** and Eric. So yeah but I would say it's all ** fault in all these problems with customer and things. So yeah that it never ever go to support ** in the Rainbow store in Oakdale in Minnesota. Guy if whoever live in near Oakdale, please don't go support this Rainbow store. Everyone who live in Minnesota here thanks.

I told salespersons that I was out of work and they still insisted on pushing their antics to con my wife and I to purchase said product. I've been using a Rainbow for many years now and actually saw the new rainbow a couple years ago. If I didn't have a rainbow I would absolutely refuse to vacuum my home with anything else. I see these negative post and it sickens me. The dealer that came to my home was extremely funny and knowledgeable about the technology of the water filter system vs. a dry filter system that has holes! Come on......how does something clean that has holes in it. To me it's common sense. Truth is that it is on the higher end of the scale as far as price but it's still not the most expensive machine out there. When you take into account that it's a total cleaning system the benefits far outweigh the competition.

I know how clean my home is and the health of my family has dramatically made a turn for the better since owning my rainbow. I highly recommend this equipment to everyone due to its ability to get the job done. I also put faith into their show because they actually prove to you what it does rather than relying on tv or listening to people spewing sour grapes. See a show and make your own decision. Unless you're type believe everything you read. It is amazing and I'll never use anything else.

I let them know my husband is not around, but that I was perfectly capable of watching a demo and making a financial decision without my husband. I was told "my opinion was not as important as my husbands" by at least 3 different reps. Each rep told me they would have their boss call me to discuss the showing without my husband.

No one called regarding that, but I was called regularly by a rep and had to go though the same "we don't advertise... all word of mouth... we want your opinion, but only if your husband is there..." I have personally worked for this rainbow company and can say that they train you up to target people that don't want it and can't afford it... in other words not caring if they put innocent people in debt. The amount of pressure they put on reps to go out and demonstrate this product was just constant harassment wanting you to work 7 days a week and not hear that you never made a sale because that was a big disappointment. Also when a sale is made you can expect your wages to take a while even up to a month later which is ridiculous and they don't mention anything until after a sale is made then come pay time they make all these deductions for knife sets which is suppose to be a free gift to the customer.

They also don't mention the fact that you (rep) and the boss have to cover a fee of $156 or more for the customer if they have bad credit in which you automatically lose out on a good $200 + depending on what type of sale it was either payment plan, cash, credit card etc and everything is said to you only upon making a sale. Well, at least that's what Aqua Technologies in Silverwater NSW (9648-1236) is doing. The product itself is great and really does do a great job but the people in that office with their made up scripts of what to say and how to sell this product is a scam. The way they've set up their script is dishonest and fake. There's no need for all of that when the product sells itself.

One time I sold 2 machines to 2 lovely sisters that were referred to by their cousin and I found out from 1 sister that the boss of that Silverwater office had given away a $750 shampoo carpet cleaner attachment for free in order to close a sale to her cousin in which she only went ahead with because of how desperate he was as well as the expensive free gift like seriously how desperate can you get... when I asked if I could give the 1 sister a free gift attachment as her cousin and sister had received one his response was "tell her to give you green lights" even though she referred several people. And then when I confronted him about the way he closed his sale by giving away a free gift he was shocked, surprised and speechless using his title as an excuse.

They also tell you that you work less hours than an everyday working person but when you add up the amount of time it took you to drive to that place, take the machine out of your car, demonstrate it then clean it and pack it away then drive back home you could be working the same amount of time as your average everyday working person or more... I worked for these people for little over a month before finally seeing these people for what they really are more so the Director of that place. 2 days ago I decided to leave and request the rest of my wages and payslip and was physically assaulted and verbally abused by this man (boss/ director) Aqua Technologies Silverwater NSW 2211... I called the police and made a report and just want this man brought to justice and want to warn people mainly females to not go anywhere near this man as he’s very manipulative and sleazy.

The free Rainmate won from a local home and garden show is a bit loud to me but it adds plenty of moisture. I do not know how well it cleans the air. I do not wake up sneezing anymore but it never looks dirty. One time I found a fly that got sucked in but other than that I do not really see dirt. I have not tried shining light on it yet. The vacuum works miracles. I have high ceilings and the extension tools can dust my ceiling fans, the hand tools picks up most of the cat hair around the house which usually only a lint roller can do here, and the shampoo took most of a 5 year old carpet stain out in minutes.

I think it is expensive but I was able to find the rainbow e2 black model (the newest) on eBay for a third of the price. I think it is a great product. The vacuum model when ran as an air purifier actually does draw dirt particles that you can see when you shine a light on the bottom. I love this product and it was worth spending a chunk of income tax on this year. I hope it lasts long as of now it is worth it. I have also taken stains out of my car's upholstery (years old stains).

They show you this fancy machine and a way you can earn your for free. Instead of paying $2600 for it all you have to do is schedule 12 appointments for their reps to show the demo. My last demo was scheduled for 2 pm on a Saturday. The rep called at 1:35 and is showing an arrival time of 2:45 pm and it keeps adding time. The customer said no way they have things to do. I totally agree. I called and emailed the office and was basically told tough luck. You have to wait for their reps to show up!

Also when you schedule the appointment you have to tell them it's approximately 1.5-2 hours. You are told "do not tell them it will take 3 hours plus." Also, they claim to be #1 in Consumer Affairs reports. I can't find them anywhere when I search. I asked the rep and he said it for durability. I researched that as well and can't find anything. Because their rep didn't show on time I have to reschedule this appointment to get credit for it or pay $2600 with a 22% interest rate. I am seriously thinking of seeing if this falls into a Class Action Law suit.

My wife and I had been contacted by a representative of Rainbow Vacuums through one of our friends who gave them our info. We were kindly "asked" if they could have our address to come out for a free demo of their vacuum. We didn't really want a new vacuum, nor a free demo, but we were offered a free air "purifier" if we would just even let them come out to talk to us. So of course, we said sure. We didn't want to be rude or let our friends down. Well long story short, they didn't want to just talk to us. The rep showed up and asked my wife to send me down to help her unload her car. She brought a bunch of stuff up with her. I helped carry a few things, but the amount of crap carried was ridiculous. Not to mention while helping our free gift was left in the trunk while we carried everything up. I said no to carrying anything up 3 times before deciding not to argue anymore in my front yard while boxes sat in the lawn.

When we got upstairs the demo was a giant pain. The rep kept trying to make my wife and feel like our house was the dirtiest place in the world, she was way too comfortable while she was here and I truly don't like being told that my home is filthy. All she kept saying was how their vacuum kept picking up all the filth and nasty left behind. Finally after the whole demo was done, the rep kept trying to get my wife to work for them. Basically pressuring her the whole time. We finally got our free gift, after I helped lug everything back downstairs, and it worked really well for almost a year.

It didn't purify the air at all. The Rainmate IL is a waste of time as well. And it is DANGEROUS! It does real well to make the air smell pretty. But there is no water proofing up inside the unit at all. The other night my wife and I were watching t.v. and our Rainmate decided to try and catch our living room curtains on fire. For no apparent reason and with no warning at all, the Rainmate literally blew up. There was a giant blue, purple and white spark followed by a loud sizzling sound and an even louder pop sound. It smelled like everything in the living room was on fire.

I unplugged it real quick and flipped the switch to off. After taking the motor off the water bowl, I took the water turner off the motor inside and there is absolutely NO water proofing inside. Why does it make sense to have a water using product with no waterproofing? None of any kind. At least put a bunch of silicon inside it or something. This product and company ethic are a huge waste of time. DO NOT BE DUPED BY THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SHODDY PRODUCTS.

We have had both products I will mention in this review a few years so we did give the Rainbow a chance. My wife, after using the Rainbow for several months finally said enough is enough. This product is just too bulky and inconvenient to be useful for us. We went to a local department store and purchased another brand vacuum cleaner. We have been using this other unit while the Rainbow sits in a closet unused. The vacuum cleaner we bought from the department store was 1/6th the cost of the Rainbow and we can tell no difference in the cleaning capacities of the 2 vacuums. The Rainbow does vacuum but why pay six times more than another brand that does as good or better job and is so much more convenient to operate.

I first experienced Rainbow as a college kid about 20 years ago. I took a part time job selling them, and have owned them ever since. There's a reason why: They are the best vac on the market, hands down. NOTHING cleans like a Rainbow. Many people have had theirs for 20 or more years. This is no sales pitch, it's the truth. The catch? The product is way overpriced, and sold by sleazy, disreputable dealers who make big commissions. A new Rainbow is will run you over $2000. Of that, the sales person makes $300, the dealer another $200, the distributor at least $200, and Rexair at least $500. Buy one on eBay from a person who deals in vacs.

You'll notice most of the bad reviews here concern the salesmen and hard sell tactics, not the product itself. The 3 Day mini vacation thing is a standard, as is free soda, "guess the cash" registrations at malls, raffles, etc. For those who do have product complaints, I'm surprised. I've never had anything go wrong with one, even an old model I've pretty much abused. There are a few things I'd watch out for: Get one with the washable HEPA filter to avoid replacement costs. Also, it doesn't do well with things that aren't water soluble. This means no baby powder, fireplace ashes, etc. It's not a shop vac, so don't treat it like one.

So, I had received a bag of "goodies" from this thing called the Welcome Wagon about 6 months after I had my daughter and it had a thing for this free air purifier. I got contacted about reviving it and said that in order to receive it, I had to see a demo on their bigger unit. At the end of the presentation, I was thinking about it. I'm an 18-year old mom with a one-year old, living with her mother still! I work full time with a very low wage. No way was I gonna be able to afford putting $103 every month towards this thing. So the girls said if I started selling it, I could get it for free. I was told 6 months to sell 7 of the Rainbows in order to get one for free. I had to provide my bank info and I was told I could get them a void cheque the next day and I was told I needed a co-signer.

So, here I am now, 4 days later, getting HARRASSED by the lady that came to do the demo about getting them my bank info. I was left a voicemail saying that if I didn't contact them that night, they were going to go to the police and file a complaint. Well, I don't think this lady understands the law. It's not gonna do anything. It's nothing to the police because it's something so small. Not impressed at all. Now to see if they try and take back my free RainMate. If they want to try, they won't get far. Gonna so set the damn thing in my hallway of my apartment building so they can't come into my house.

I purchased a Rainbow Cleaning system about 3 years ago. I have had many other vacuums and none are as easy to use or worked as well as this system. We have a dog and 2 kittens that shed a lot. It gets all of the hair out of the carpet and gets the dirt from under the carpet as well. I have had my carpeting for 18 years, 4 kids and their friends, multiple dogs and my carpet has never looked so good! It has pulled the dirt from below the carpet and raised the nap to look very good. (Worth spending the extra time vacuuming over the same spots to release the dirt.) Love the system and am planning to purchase the carpet and floor washing systems as well.

Went to a Home and Garden show in town this year and stopped by the Rainbow kiosk. Was encouraged to sign up to win the barbecue on display. I figured, "Why not?" I currently own a Rainbow vacuum and gave the gentleman working the booth that information. The following Monday I was contacted by the gentleman and told I had not won the BBQ, but I had won a 2 night, 3 day stay, or if I choose a $250 gift card to be used for WHATEVER I wanted. I chose the gift card because I was afraid of being put up in some flea bag motel.

Gentleman began to set appointment with me to deliver the card the next day. He asked that my husband be present. That's when I knew things were not as presented. He told me he must give me a demo before he could present the card. I reiterated to him that I already owned a Rainbow and had for over 30 years and was not in the market to replace it. And even if I was I didn't need my husband's approval to buy the vacuum then and certainly didn't need it now. We finally agreed that he would drop the gift card by at 3 pm the following day. Three PM came and went and no card.

The following day I began to call. The number on the card I had picked up at the kiosk was disconnected and the web address was incorrect. I went back to my phone and found his number and called and left a message. I repeated this for several days with no response. I finally contacted the producers of the home show to complain. They sent me the contact info and a young woman from the vendor called to verify my address so she could send the gift card and asked that I notify the show producers when I got the card.

I received the card yesterday and noticed it was for an online shopping mall. Here's the catch: You can buy anything on the website at no cost to you up to the value of the card, but you pay a one time $5 fee, and shipping and handling. The shipping and handling is obviously the value of the items. There is not much to choose from and the shipping is exorbitant. It is clear that the items are pure trash and not even worth the cost of shipping. I will be contacting the home show producers and strongly suggesting they eliminate this vendor from further shows or make them change their sales techniques.

When I bought my first Rainbow vacuum 30+ years ago they wanted to come and demonstrate it for me. But I was able to convince them that I didn't need a demonstration...I just wanted the vacuum and they finally shipped it to my home. It's sad to see that this company has not moved forward from these shoddy sales techniques because I really do love my Rainbow vacuum except for the weight. Knowing that the new ones are lighter made me think I might one day replace it, but now I'm not convinced.

I have owned a Rainbow for the last 17 years, since I moved out of my parent’s home at 18 and absolutely LOVE this system. It is built to last and even though I recently purchased the newest model, my 17 yr old Rainbow still works great, it just doesn't have the features and convenience of the new model. I have used my 3 day 2 night vacation certificate and aside from having to resubmit my request for availability on the location I was choosing and having to pay the room taxes, it was an awesome gift. All of the complaints I have read seem very immature and are stereotyping Rainbow Representatives because the rep who recently sold me the newest model I now have was extremely professional and kind.

The Rainbow is a life time investment in your home, your time, your money and your health. If you don't care about any of those things then the Rainbow certainly is not for you, but if you are concerned with the future of your home, time, money and health then don't believe all of the trivial, elementary complaints that the lazy, judgmental and uneducated people have to say about the BEST CLEANING SYSTEM EVER!

I had a in-home demonstration last week to help my friend win some free gifts and in exchange for getting referred I received a 3 night 4 day hotel stay package. I didn't know what to expect since my friend didn't tell me much about it just that it’s something I must see for myself and a very nice sales girl will make an appointment to see me at my convenience within couple weeks. The demo was absolutely awesome, we had so much fun, the girl showed me the difference between a dry cleaning system vs. wet cleaning system. She did a great job explaining everything. I learned so much about how important it is to purify the air in my home and how to actually keep it clean. That’s only the beginning, what the rainbow can pick up is even more amazing. She showed me after each part that nothing comes out the back like my old vacuum which made sense since they have a saying "wet dust can’t fly.”

I love my rainbow. I can’t stop cleaning my house, it amazes me how it gets all the fine small stuff that my vacuum always left behind. The water gets gross the first time so I recommend changing it after each room. Now I’m able to do the entire house without changing it til the very end. I already noticed a difference in how I feel, and knowing I’m not wasting my time when I vacuum. The Rainbow is an amazing product. If you haven’t seen one in person, I highly recommend make an appointment especially with the young lady that came to my home. She was very respectful and had a bubbly personality. I would leave her name and number but don’t know if she would want me doing that.

We even were able to enter into negotiations on the price of the system but couldn't quite come to terms so he didn't get the sale, and he was not pressuring us, just kept relaying negotiated prices from his boss to us. I did think the product was a good one, but since we have no carpeting at all, we couldn't justify the cost. He did leave us the Rainmate with no conditions. I live near Albuquerque.

I purchased my Rainbow in 1991. It just went in for a repair - power switch is WORN OUT. Nothing picks up like it, nothing. Claims that a little water in the bottom of a shopvac is equivalent is a lie. They don't have the air/water separator. I have pets and live in a red clay area. The Rainbow bowl would be hair and mud. Nothing works like a Rainbow. I paid about a grand back then so I have been fortunate to get 25 years for that price.

Most issues I read are about crummy salespeople. Mine was a very nice guy, and the store in Sacramento, I believe, is still in business. What makes them go is the debris never go through the motor, like a Kirby. I can pickup nails, dirt, keys, money, rocks, whatever and it never travels through the motor, banging around, damaging fins, etc. You don't have the smell of the bag, the cost of the bag, and the saying you can't clean a house with a paper bag is so very true. Just never store them together with water in the bowl, keep the air water separator clean, and it will run and run and run. Unfortunately it sounds like a great product with deplorable sales people. Too bad as it doesn't do justice to the design and function of the product. You can buy them off ebay for hundreds and skip the sales pitch.

A good friend of mine got one and put my name out for "demo." I was impressed with demo, so bought the $2900 machine, even though I had a trust Royal Commercial that has lasted great for 15 years! The very next day, I went to vacuum my family room and formal living room, which was full of cat hair, and it wouldn't even pick up the stuff. And the salesman kept saying his airflow was at 130mph and mine vacs was at 4mph the first time then 8mph the second time. NO WAY! My Royal ALWAYS get all the cat hair and everything. In fact, it chewed up the cord one time when I accidentally ran over it (to this day, it's secured with electrician's tape). So, luckily I was ill within that 3 day.

I called to cancel. The salesman called and said 1) was your water too low? No, It was as you left it., 2) was it too dirty? no, it was barely dirty, as you left it. 3) maybe the hose got clogged? what, by osmosis? If that's the case, I doubly don't want it! What a hassle! Can I come out? Yes, you can come out to pick it up!... I just want to make everyone happy (really means, I just want to save my sale)... You just have to get used to the fact that it's not possible all the time in life! Get out here and pick this up!.

I had to freaking argue with him to invoke the 3-day cancellation (under no obligation, etc. ) given by law! Wonderful! Awful experience. I can't believe I was so duped. Getting setup by friends is the real kicker and they know it and they use it. I should have seen right through it, but I didn't. I can't believe I fell for it, but at least I am not stuck with it or the charge! My mom's demo is today, and she is duly warned! I hope no one else falls for this crappy overpriced piece of garbage. Go buy a Royal Commercial for abut $800 (ya expensive) but they are great and they don't deal door to door.. they don't have to!

I've had Rainbow cleaners demonstrated to me twice, both as favors for friends. I loved the first one years ago and loved the idea of using water as a filter. December 2014 I had it demonstrated again only this model was also an air cleaner. I went ahead and bought it. Presentation/demo: Went on WAY too long, but it did pick up stuff that my Dyson didn't (I had vacuumed that morning). Yes, they did make me supply 10 names, that was to try to get at least 4 out of those that would agree to a demo so I could win MY free gift. They did have the certificate for the free vacation and left it with me. Looks like a pretty good deal, but you DO have to provide your own transportation to the resorts.

There was no pressure to buy it, they made it clear that they just wanted to demonstrate the equipment; it was up to me to decide if I wanted the machine and let them know (practically had to convince them that I did want it). They do not bug you for demos after they're done. There are a couple of follow up calls, which should be expected, but really no pressure. I bought mine just before the Christmas holidays and most of my friends were traveling and could not be reached. Oh well.

Machine performance: The air cleaner works really well. I've been using it for more than a week and I have no dust (I didn't even run it on "high" for 10 minutes to do an extra cleaning like they recommended). There are six cats in my house and scratching litter boxes does kick up a lot of dust (TRY to find non dusty kitty litter), but it's not settling on my furniture. I do have to top off the tank's water once a day as the levels do fall due to evaporation. The scents they give us do make the place smell really nice, but I don't use that all the time.

Vacuum: I'm not used to using a canister so it's an experience having to drag that thing behind me, but the hose is long and it isn't that big a hassle. It picks up a LOT. The sales people said it goes from carpet to hard floor without having to do anything. Well, no it doesn't. The beater bar on the motorized carpet vacuum head absolutely does kick stuff back into your ankles, so you do have to switch heads to the wide brush. Then it works great. The only thing I don't like about it is having to dump the disgusting water. You do have to take it outside, but (in my case) wet fur and dust can pile up. I recommend letting it dry then scooping it up into a plastic grocery bag. That's an extra step you need to take as opposed to just using a bag-less cleaner like I'm used to using. All in all I'm happy with my purchase even if the price is way out of line for these. I liked the people doing the demonstration but just wish it didn't take so long.

Like others, we signed up for a "no-hassle" Rainbow vacuum demo at a trade fair to get the free air purifier. This demo was anything but hassle-free. After almost two hours, the demo came down to cost. We told her we weren't in a position to buy one at the moment as one of us was going back to college. She said she could phone her manager to see if we could go on a special payment plan. We told her, don't bother, it wouldn't help. She did anyway and came back with a two year repayment plan. We continued to tell her no, asking her to please pack up. She wouldn't get off our living room floor. Finally, she started to CRY! She told us how she was only in town for a week and now that she's used the vacuum for a demo she would have to send it to the factory to be cleaned and repackaged and she wouldn't be able to sell it.

My husband and I were shocked. We didn't know what to do! So we relented and started to sign the papers. Well, the water works stopped instantly and she had the nerve to say, "This town is awesome. I haven't had one refusal." Gee, I wonder why. She then started to describe this crazy plan of signing up friends for a similar "no-hassle" demo and a reward program that included like, another vacuum or something?? I laughed and said, "Are you kidding me? You think I want to put our friends through this?" She was offended.

Anyway, shortly after she left we started talking about how taken we had been. Of course it's a decent vacuum. My husband's grandmother had one for 30 years. But like we told her repeatedly, we seriously couldn't afford it. So we tried to phone her the next day several times to arrange a return. She wasn't picking up her phone. Two days later we finally phoned the regional head office. The lady we talked to said, "She's probably avoiding your calls because you only have 72 hours to return it for a full refund." Convenient, isn't it? The lady gave us the location of her motel and we waited outside of her room until she came back. My husband left the vacuum at her door as she got out of her car and tore up the contract. He said, "I've already talked to head office and I won't be paying for this vacuum." She started her tearful pitch once more and he walked away. Thankfully we never did see a payment come out of our bank account for the vacuum. But every year at the trade fair we'd see her at the booth and glare at each other.

I just bought the Rainbow in UK from a salesman who were polite to a degree. This company has an very old sale system and really there isn't much guidance for the salesman on professionalism. Every distributor should have guidelines to follow and be inspected upon if they are following them. When they offer you a job, they should read those guidelines on how to behave, what are the laws, what isn't accepted for a employee in the company and what is. Now if there are no laws, there is chaos, so 99% of bad reviews I found here is about the lack of good costumer service. Why? Because there are no inspections from Rexair on the quality of service each distributor gives to the costumer.

Things like common sense would suggest to wear appropriate wear, but no, you could come in a pajamas on a demo, because nothing to say what should I wear was 'stated' in my contract. Very, very stupid of Rexair of not making a set of guidelines to follow, or even if they did, it's not followed because of the lack of discipline. Now in UK, the folks are doing very well if we talk about the costumer service, though they still have to learn that 'costumer is always right', meaning that if they don't agree, they don't agree, probably because they failed to explain properly what they meant.

Now English is a barrier and what I see is the office here in UK (there is only one office here really - in North London) is that the place is mostly Portuguese/Lithuanian spoken. No problem with that. Most speak English, and the distributor is well English spoken, much better than me, in fact, but there's something unprofessional about this place, why no laws? Why no guidelines? They say - you need no experience, ok, then teach how to 'communicate' properly. But how, if they never knew the proper rules of this job in the first place?

Rules are always the same. They were always the same, as they are now. No arrogance, no bad behavior, no tricks, no small lies (it didn't happen in UK in my experience but I read a lot of complaints about misleading salespersons in US), half truth is also a lie. Being honest is a good thing, because if you be honest about the product, you will still sell the machine, because the machine is indeed, a best vacuum/air purifier/carpet cleaner...

No qualms about the product whatsoever, and sorry folks, quadruple the price is 'normal procedure' for business, they have to make money, everybody have to make money, now the job to a average Joe doesn't pay big time massive amount of cash. Why? Because you don't sale every time you do a demo, there's risk involved that you might do poorly and be out of your place or something, because in turn you didn't pay for your mortgage/bills...

Even though they say, you will do good, they use their techniques that sometimes don't exactly follow the rules. Now I want to be an honest guy who follows the rules and I can understand if someone says I don't have the green stuff. You give them options, still if they say no, might be because you did not do well, but guess what, what's more important? Sell the machine in an unprofessional way; leave bad after taste in the customer's mouth, bad reputation (see most of these 'product reviews'), or don't sell the machine, BUT leave a good impression on your friends, customers (who be in future) because they will come back when they want, and most of all, leave a positive feeling about the company?

Now you, sellers, reflect on that or stay the way you are. You will earn money and lose health, friendships, respect, family, should I go on? The way you talk to your customers will be very similar to how you treat everybody around. You can work here, honestly earn money, and be joyous, if you follow the simple, basic, timeless... Rules. Product is gold. Maintenance equals how long the machine lasts. Clean house equals effort, it's not a miracle, clean your house itself, wonder machine. It's a tool! You 'use' it. It works wonders. Costs a lot because its the best product, they can allow to do that, it's business. People are greedy, but you don't have to be, just give the best deal you are allowed to and leave with a clear conscience.

Earning money after they sell you one... This is a total SCAM for people NOT living in Locust Grove or around for the sales in Atlanta, Georgia. We set up two appointments in the Kennesaw area and got canceled the day of.....which to start is just very unprofessional...Don't tell me they can't know that the day before. It was hard enough to get a FAMILY (Since we MUST have husband and wife present) to accept and then to cancel the same day was just ridiculous. Of course that was NOT told to us when we have the demonstration at our house and our money was taken from us!

I will continue to voice my opinion about your program and discourage buyers on the "earning money" potential. The machine itself is a good one and by now we should have gotten already some additional pieces BUT due to the lack of professionalism in your company's part we didn't get any. They are just trying to get their commission and run.

We won a contest at a home show for a Rainbow Rainmate Air Purifier. We got it delivered with a 2-hour demo and a pitch for their master vacuum product. The demo was long and it did make great claims, all performed by a pretty good and pretty nice salesman. He demonstrated the technology concept and unit, it was amazing, clearly out-performing our old Dyson and Hoover both. Our Dyson was over $570.00 too, so nothing very cheap.

The final price was $2,399 on the vacuum, and they offered us all sorts of financing deals that made no sense to finance a long note of 4-6 years for a vacuum. So I don't advise financing these units. I did some research, and the units have a basic base cost of $400.00-$500.00 in manufacturing and distributor shipping. Add to that, their stacked marketing promos and salesman commissions, and this unit should be selling for about a $1499.00 max price. I have found some spots that have had them for about $1399.00-$1499.00.

So I can see how some salesmen and distributorships abuse customers. That is SAD, since this is a GREAT PRODUCT. We've used the silly looking Air Purifier, and let me tell you, the water filtration WORKS, and works well. My wife and I have had sinus and eye infection problems disappear almost overnight, I crap-you-not! This darn thing works! Yes, you must change the water daily, and wipe the bowl about every 4 days minimum. When you wipe, you'll easily see what the filtration does pull right out of the air. There will be no doubt how you're feeling better.

The vacuum we have not bought yet, but plan on buying 1 or 2 (letting one be the high-powered purifier and one be the actual vacuum). I won't buy until they negotiate down to the 13 or $1,400's for direct credit card purchase. The sales guy earned his commission, treated us very fairly. When I get tough with his distributor for the price, I'm going to make sure he does not cut the salesman's pay on the deal. The technology works, and at a fraction of more expensive air purifiers and industrial strength vacuums that the Rainbow model does compete within their latest model.

Bottom line, anyone saying these things don't work as promised are either lying or stupid. I fully understand anyone having problems with their sales organization and financing methods, they sound a lot like "Direct Buy" a large wholesale buyer's club with plenty of their own abusive sites. I say get the product, negotiate the price down hard, and if you can afford it, enjoy the greater benefits for a long, long time.

Because they use water you MUST empty the pan and clean the separator. You cannot leave the machine with water in, it will shorted the life. The water will start to smell because of all the bacteria it picks up. As far as sales tactics that is up to each dealer. All trades have bad salespeople as well as great ones. I was at a health and safety fair in October 2013 and the Rain Mate was being displayed with a chance to win. I signed up as my family suffers from allergies/asthma so I thought that is pretty cool. Well, I "won". Pretty sure everyone wins. So they schedule my FREE demo. The salesman came into our home for about 3-4 hours and talked about the Rainbow Reimbursement Incentive Program. I felt it was too risky that you have to schedule 11 demos and then after that 11th demo someone has to BUY one. I told him that was too risky for me so he changed our program to be 15 qualified demos. I thought I could likely do that. He also told us he would be willing to help us cause he really wants us to have this and we could help his wife at home shows and those referrals would go to us.

I told him that we financially just weren't comfortable that in 6-12 months it might work better for us. He told us that we couldn't have another demo for another 2-3 years and we would have to pay $2900 instead of $2400 for our vacuum trade. We asked him if we could cancel and he said, "no, unfortunately you can't". (However, I guess we have a 3 day cancellation policy that I didn't know) and I wasn't sure applied since he told us we couldn't. He just kept pushing the incentive program and he would help us. So beyond my better judgment we did it.

Our salesman moved to Florida two weeks later. We emailed him early December 2013 to find out who we should contact regarding scheduling our demos. He gave us a name and phone number. We called that number almost every day/week a couple times, left messages from January - April 2014. I talked to a woman by the name of Danielle and gave her 2 names on my list which she called one referral once and never again. I got the secretary one time and she said, "yes we have received all of your messages and have submitted them to the owners, they will contact you". They never did!

In April 2014, we are being sued in small claims court and we were found in breach of contract because we didn't supply 15 names and contact information to the company. Even though I didn't have anyone to give it to.

Do not welcome them into your home unless you are willing to pay the full price. Don't count on the incentive program or any other information. Our salesman also offered a free week at a condo in Florida. (Can't imagine what would have happened if we would have done that).

I can not believe these lazy, asinine people complaining about the COMPANY PRACTICES in a review when they're supposed to be reviewing the PRODUCT. The Rainbow Vacuum is the best. Period. Don't let these other reviewers sway you from the Rainbow because they are too fat to carry it up a flight of stairs, hate their salesman, or just want to moan and complain about something. They're probably the ones who caused their salesman to be ill in the first place. Ahhhh... anyway. Here's my story:

A salesman came, but I did not buy it from him for $2400. He was nice (this may not be the same everywhere). The demo was great and really showed how good it works. No gimmicks; just real world tests. I wanted one. He left and I went to searching online. In less than two days later, I was picking one up I saw on Craigslist for $600 that was gently used for a year. I got it home and cleaned it up to brand new condition. It was just missing some cleaning accessories but they're widely available online for less than $10 each.

BOTTOM LINE: It works incredibly well. I can't believe how much crap it got outta my carpet. Find one online. The thing's so repairable that it doesn't matter if you have the warranty or not. And don't listen to these idiots on here who don't know how to review the actual product.

This cleaner does not reuse the water and cleaned it like new. Of course the price is very high; however it is a fantastic machine. The other sales pitch of getting others to view the demo did not sit well with me and I did not participate with this any more than buy lottery tickets. Don't do that either. It started with a "free weekend getaway" that I earned just for watching the demo... This weekend getaway mess is total BS by the way. But that's okay, I figured that much. So he talked me into entering the Ride-Along program (show the system to 12 couples and 2 must buy it). Showing the system to 12 people didn't seem too difficult... Until he QUIT and they no longer wanted to cover my area!!

It took some haggling but the folks in the McDonough office have tried to comply. First of all, let me say that it has been VERY hard to get 12 couples between the ages of 21-62 that are married and homeowners to commit to watching the demo. I'd say 99% cancel or constantly reschedule on me... It's been very frustrating. I'm not to the end of the program just yet, but I'm holding my breath on how this is going to turn out. So far, I do love the machine but I would never ever get myself into this Ride Along program BS ever again!! If you sit for a demo, be smart, listen to that little voice that tells you better! If you have a few grand laying around - great, by all means get it, it's a wonderful machine, but don't get suckered into this demo ride along, pain in the ** bull hockey!!

They guy was at my place for 2 hours and would not take no for an answer when I told him that I had no interest in spending $2900 of my money for a Rainbow cleaning machine. My $200 Hoover vacuum cleaner is just fine as I see it. I had a hard time getting him to pack up his Rainbow and leave even when my mother kept calling and wanted to talk to me.

I thought that the guy was kind of rude. Also, the guy told me that the Rainbow that he was showing and trying to sell me was brand new. This was odd in that the name Rainbow was wearing off of the machine from handling. Also, when he packed it up, he put all of the parts away in the individual plastic bags that it came in probably only to tell his next victim that the machine was "brand" new. The machine may be good, but the price is way too high. Also, looking on the web, it appears like one can get this machine at a much lower price.

I am so very unhappy with the service of this brand. I do not think it is fair that the representatives come to all areas to sell a product but it is so hard to get demos scheduled. There is one rep for 7-8 counties that schedules for multiple people. Which leaves it unfair to everyone who purchases the Rainbow and trying to complete the program.

It seems that the full truth about the rules of earning the Rainbow for free was withheld and every day we are finding out new rules which limit us from completing the program. I suggest that you only sell this product in the areas that you will have full representation for demos. This product has put a strain on my mind, body and soul dealing with the mess. The philosophy of cleaning the carpet and the air had some logic, so we bought it. About two weeks into it we found that it was not really doing the job it should have, so I phoned the vendor and asked to return it.

The lady who answered the phone told me they had a 10 day policy (this was not relayed to us at the time of sale) and it has been 14 days, so they would most likely not take it back. The Rainbow vacuum, while expensive, is a remarkable cleaning system. I've owned two vacuums my whole life.... A Kirby and a Rainbow. Here are my thoughts and opinions. The Kirby, also expensive, is a very solid rugged vacuum cleaner. It's quick and easy to plug in and begin using. Since it has a bag, you can smell the dirt and dust while vacuuming. The hardwood floor attachment is a joke. The suction is on par with the Rainbow on an empty bag.

The Rainbow takes a little patience to set up. However, in the long run due to the water filtration and zero dust emissions, you will see a visibly cleaner house and will have to vacuum less. Those that own or are going to buy a Rainbow need to care for the machine in order for it to last for years, such as cleaning the water basin after each use along with the separator. And never store the water basin attached to the unit.

Those that complain about the Rainbow are usually upset at their local agent. While there maybe some unethical practices by some distributors, don't let it give the Rainbow vacuum a bad name. And even though they are up there in price, their reputation is top-notch for longevity if you take care of it. Also the Rainbow is marked up no more than a cheap Dyson or most vacuums. Usually 300-400% of cost.

During the Demo it took us a lot of arguing, complaining to the management because they told us our friends lived too far away. Afterwards we were told they didn't during the demo. I talked to a lady that was very helpful and made things happen (**). Call her if you have the same problems. She told me to give her number out if I had any friends that had a problem.

Afterwards we received a $2,600 check for our vacuum. I was asked to fill out a W-9 form. I asked them through email, are we going to get taxed on the $2,600 we received. I received an email back saying, "No, the W9 is for our tax records to prove who we have paid this year." We have a contract stating this Vacuum will be free nothing about we have to pay taxes on the money we receive. This vacuum is not free. You will have to pay like 21 percent interest rate during your ride along program. After you get all of your demos done you have to wait approximately three months before you get your check. They will send you a W9 form to tax you on the $2,600 you receive. Now I have pay taxes on this money I did not account for. If we knew this we would have set to the side a certain amount of money for taxes. I am talking to the GM and he is telling me he cannot do nothing for me.

If one of your friends messed up and did the same thing we did please help them out and sit through the demo. Please tell them No at the end no matter what. They will tell everyone if they do 16 demos without them selling four they will get it free still. Make sure your friend have that in writing like I made them to do it. When working there a lot of their policies contradicted each other. They basically told you to lie to the customers about the products that they would receive for doing a demo. They also tell you to push the people into buying the Rainbow, even though people are saying that they could not afford it. Now I don't know about you, but if someone is telling me that they cannot afford a product that I am selling I am not going to make them put it on their credit and screw that up as well.

I was very honest with the customers that I showed the Rainbow to and held back nothing if they asked, which is why I sold only 1 in the month (plus I am just not made for sales). Also their base pay a month of $2280 is a lie. You have to do ten shows a week for the whole month, which I did, and was never given a check. They make you take your own car for work to different areas around the metroplex, and give you no gas allowance or anything. I had more people call me back that I had shown a demo to and told me thank you for being honest about everything, and they were grateful that they hadn't bought the product for 3800.00 dollars when it was online for $500.

The mark up for this product is ridiculous and all the "free" vacations, rain mates, and pots and pan sets that are suppose to be given to the customers, rarely get to them. As a matter of fact, I got into trouble for actually delivering those free products as promised. What the ** kind of company is that?! You get into trouble for trying to deliver on promises. Have to admit ... one of those rare times when I failed to listen to that "little voice" in the back of my head. Shame on me. Rainbow's sales pitch is fairly compelling ... seems like a great idea at the time. HOWEVER, if I'd simply thought about their concept for about 3 seconds, I would have realized the Rainbow is just another vacuum cleaner. They focus on the constant suction power and how it even freshens the air. Well if you simply change the bag in ANY vacuum every time, you'd get the same effect of dumping the water reservoir of the Rainbow after every use. In fact, I could put a little water in the bottom of my Shop Vac and get the exact same result ... except with a LOTS more suction power.

Had the Rainbow about a month when the belt started repeatedly coming off of the spindle on the floor attachment. They fixed it, no problem. But what a pain in the butt this thing is (as a canister vac) pulling it around behind you as it stops/snags on rugs, furniture corners, etc. And what a treat it is doing stairs one-handed while carrying the not-so-light-weight (filled with water) canister in the other hand. Of course for about a million dollars you can buy other attachments. I didn't and I won't. So here's my evaluation after approximately one year:

Suction is basically the same as ANY other good quality vacuum. Price is ridiculously high ... 3 or 4 times the cost of a Dyson, Orek or similar. Additional attachments are similarly overpriced by huge margins. Canister configuration makes it cumbersome to use vs an upright. Dealing with the water reservoir and having to dump it (outside) every time is problematic. Would definitely NOT try to talk friends/family into a demonstration ... Rainbow's primary strategy.

We'll give this to someone ... maybe one of the kids ... if they want it. And I will NEVER ignore that "little voice" again. They got me on this one. I hope my comments help someone avoid a similar experience.
