    DO NOT BUY FROM LUMENS. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Check Trustpilot. All complaints read the same and all are answered by "Kate" who cannot be reached anywhere else. They are horrible to deal with.

    Update: After leaving reviews around and filing a complaint with the BBB, they eventually refunded my order. I am adding another star for that, but I wish their own CS would have simply made things right the first time I contacted, instead of forcing things to go this far.

    This company takes no accountability for mistakes they make, if anything goes wrong on their end it will come out of your wallet. I am undergoing a months long renovation for a coop I purchased before I move in. As part of this I ordered 3 large wall sconces for the bedroom. The contractors received and installed them right away. Later on, I ordered 4 more of the same sconces for the living room. The contractors pointed out to me that they were different. I came in to inspect, and it turns out the first 3 I received were 3 of the smaller versions (cheaper, and not LED, which also means they won't work with the dimmer switches I have).

    I contacted Lumens with pictures of the difference, and they agreed that they had made a mistake. However, since the wall sconces had been installed, they would not take them back. Essentially they choose to blame the contractor for installing the lights they received, rather than taking responsibility for sending the wrong lights in the first place. Furthermore, the CS agent rather sarcastically replied "Thanks for sending the pictures which confirm that you have received your items" when the pictures clearly show the items are wrong.

    After over an hour of them trying to deflect responsibility, they refunded me only the difference in cost between what they sent me and what I ordered, and closed the ticket, despite the fact that what they sent me will not work. They are firmly expecting me to just take their mistaken delivery. I will have to get replacements at my own cost to make this work.

      I bought a $400 desk lamp from Lumens on 9/17. It arrived well-packed on 9/23. When I opened it on 9/24, something seemed off. There was plastic wrap twisted all around the lamp components, making me wonder if it was a return. Once I cut away all the plastic, I saw that the lamp was already assembled (the manufacturer instructions show that you have to assemble it yourself). When I removed it from the box, the base of the lamp fixture was snapped into two pieces.

      I used chat support to start a return request. Chat (which is just AI so this takes a while) linked me to a webpage for damaged or broken items. That page said I had 48 hours to complete a form for a refund. I submitted the form and uploaded photos of the damaged lamp. I received no confirmation or email acknowledging the form, but I decided to give it a few days.

      I used AI chat again on 9/29 until I got put through to a real rep. I relayed all of the information from the form again (she clearly had no record of it) and she approved a return & refund. I got an email that day confirming the refund once I returned the lamp. However, Lumens claims their system separately generates a UPS return label that should come "in 1-2 business days."

      I waited one more week and no return label arrived. I filed a dispute with my credit card on 10/6. They gave me the temporary credit but on 10/27 reversed it, claiming that Lumens told them, "the item arrived in good condition." Lumens acknowledged my damaged item and authorized a return & refund, so I'm not sure how they were able to tell CapitalOne that the item was in good condition. They have photos showing it snapped into two pieces.

      My only regret is not researching this company. I thought that Lumens was legit but they appear to dropship and have no customer service when you need help. I sincerely believe that the "separate return label" emails are never sent to customers and they count on most people giving up and then lie to credit card merchants.

      I purchased a $200 lamp which was on sale 1/2 off. The lamp was of poor quality and I attempted to return it, after a 20-minute phone call with CSR and Manager, I was repeatedly informed their website indicated the item was non-returnable, which is something I never noticed. I also looked at my Order Conformation which NO WHERE indicated the lamp was non-returnable, which they did not disagree with. I explained that the website I purchased it on is no longer visible to me, and that the “Order Confirmation” is a document received, which should list all important details of transaction, which any reputable business would have done. This is a VERY POOR company, I would never suggest purchasing anything from them!

      Ordered a fatboy lamzac chair and ended up receiving an original lounger instead. Not what I ordered at all, so I had to return the item as they didn’t not have the actual one in stock. (See pictures) I paid $122 and ended up having to pay for return fees etc! I only got $77 back out of $122, unbelievable and unacceptable for a mistake they made. Do not buy from Lumens and light.

      I have five of the 5 blade Artemis XL5 ceiling fans and four 3 blade Lightwave LED ceiling fans in my home for 11 years. They're beautiful and move air! With 26’ ceilings, living in Florida in 100°+ humidity, these fans excel compared to others. I have dealt with Lumens several times on a new project where I’ve ordered 7 fans (four of the XL5 and three of the lightwave 3 blade fans). Customer service has been extremely helpful in placing orders! Highly recommend!

      This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever encountered. I ordered two sconces in May 2024, which I later received in July. They did not work for my space so I returned both. I called the company because they never emailed me a receipt of return and I was assured they had received them and I had actually never even been charged. In February 2025, a collections agency contacted me about my “outstanding debt to Lumens.” This company has wasted hours of my time trying to find UPS receipts for items I returned to them 8 months ago. The supervisor admitted they found my return orders and they must have been “lost in the current of the warehouse.” I received no apology for the countless emails calls and contacts from a collection agency for a debt I never even owed.

      I ordered a chandelier in December. Was not told it would be shipped from Italy. When it arrived the sockets were different and only half the fixture would light up. I was told it would be replaced. Have called many times but am given lies constantly. Now I will ask my credit card to refund the money since I believe their lies will continue.

      I ordered a Vitra wall shelf from Lumens after having to ask customer service how I could get the product I needed shipped to San Francisco faster than the 2 to 3 weeks their website order form was quoting. The person checked if they had the product stocked in Pennsylvania instead of Europe, because that would make a big difference in shipping time. I was emailed with good news that it was in stock in Pennsylvania, and I could pay extra for overnight shipping. A week goes by, and my client doesn't have the wall shelf that she hired a worker to be at her house to install the shelf.

      I called Lumens this AM and the customer service person found my order. She then tells me that my client should have the product by October 5th, more than a week from today. So having jumped through hoops to accommodate my client's wishes and paying a lot more for overnight shipping, it is going to be 2-3 weeks after order placement before the item arrives. This is complete lunacy and I refuse to ever buy from Lumens here on in.

      Lumens.com and YLighting are the same company. I ordered a light fixture from YLighting in October 2021, and returned it because it was too large, in accordance with their policy. I noticed in Jan 2022 that I did not receive a credit. I called the company, they researched it and ultimately gave me a credit. In Feb. 2022 I ordered a pendant light from Lumens.com. My light arrived damaged.

      I contacted the company via email, and was requested to send photos. I then received an email saying they would replace it. I decided that I just wanted to return it (which is in accordance with their policy) and want a refund. No response from them for several business days. I then called, and was sent a Return Authorization number, but was told it would take 3-5 business days to receive a mailing label, which is ridiculous. After 3 days I called, and was then told my damage had to be "approved", even though I had an RA, and that could take 10 business days. So basically, this company can send merchandise, get paid in full, and if it arrives broken, you are out the money for at least a month, IF in fact they ever send you a return label. Keep in mind, if I didn't call so many times, I wouldn't even know this. I am charging the transaction back on my credit card, and hopefully I will be done with it.
