    I purchased a Trane AC from Lindstrom Air Conditioning & Plumbing in 2018, and from the very first day, it’s been a constant source of problems. The initial installation was poorly executed. The base they designed didn’t even fit the unit properly, and as a result, the air filter media couldn’t be installed correctly. It took three separate service calls before they finally resorted to an improvised fix.

    Despite investing in their annual maintenance plan and having my unit serviced twice a year, I’ve encountered issues every single year. The most recent experience was the tipping point. The first technician who came out blamed a strange noise on a vibrating pipe, and when I asked him to investigate further, he actually said it was “above his pay grade” and did no diagnostics. Unsatisfied, I called the company back and they sent a second technician who did address the issue, but only after he’d completed the work did he inform me there was a $225 charge. When I questioned why this wasn’t disclosed upfront, they told me I could either pay it or use up my second annual maintenance visit to cover the cost.

    The maintenance done in August was clearly subpar—apparently the drain wasn’t cleaned properly—and now I’m stuck footing the bill for it. Lindstrom was recently bought out by another company, and it seems like they’re dismissing my concerns and any notion of taking responsibility for the unit or the quality of their work. I cannot recommend Lindstrom Air Conditioning & Plumbing. My experience has been nothing but frustration and unexpected expenses from a system that should have performed reliably and been installed correctly in the first place. Steer clear and find a more reputable company for your HVAC needs.

    Amanda scheduled my Appt. for 11/11/24 when my Dad’s A/C stopped working the day prior. She was very nice! The technician Richard cleaned out the drain line and serviced the unit. A/C was back up and running! He was very helpful, courteous & knowledgeable!

    I called the Palm City location and Chase was polite and scheduled my appointment the same day. Joe was the technician that services my AC. It had a leak in the line and lost all of the Freon. Joe found the leak and repaired it. Charged the Freon back up and tested everything. We had cold air in 3 hours. The group at Lindstrom were prompt, on time, and gave an estimate to me and explained the work detail before starting. I have used them before and I trust them going forward.

    Today Tech Paulson ** came to service A/C. He is the best person ever to come into my home. I watched him perform his duties as an efficient highly skilled tech. No one in 38 yrs of me being a customer saw such efficiency in one doing this job. He should be a tech instructor to other techs to perform their jobs just as he did. I give him 10 stars.

    Lindstrom Air and Plumbing are CRIMINALS. They charge three times the amount anyone else charges and they are doing this to all 55+ communities. DO NOT use them under any circumstances. They not only charged my mother 3 times the cost to install a new Carrier Motor which they installed TWO YEARS ago, but they tried to upsell her on other issues they should have handled during their maintenance visit 6 months ago. I spoke to another HVAC company and they quoted me $600 less. DO NOT use them unless you will pay way more.

    You better shop around if you are a homeowner & get quoted a price from Lindstrom. I was quoted $3,500 to install a new compressor in one of my AC units. A much smaller company quoted me the exact same compressor for $1,800 installed. They are taking advantage of hard working people. Don’t let it happen to you.

    Total rip off. They charge 10x higher for parts that can be found in a Home Depot. Don’t use them! $600 for 2 small parts worth $30 each. I will not let them rip me off again. Use a different company. No joke!

    This company is money hungry. They show up but are quick to defer work and charge $99 dispatch fee regardless. Dispatch does not ask the right questions to do the job and many times will need to return another day with additional helpers. Customer service is more about lip service than making customers happy and returning. Seek other vendors.

    My 87 year old mom called to have her dryer vent cleaned. She can’t see very good after the stroke. They quoted her one price for two hours but charged her for 5.5 hours over $1000. She over paid and they knew it. When I called they lied about the time spent there. They said they did work they never did. She might have a hard time see but she is still on the ball.

    They want to charge me $99 “dispatch” fee to send someone to give me a quote for replacement water heater! Unbelievable. I definitely will not get a quote from them. No other company wants to charge to give a quote. I also have an issue with their AC maintenance. They want to charge me an extra $300 to send an extra man as to get to the roof they will need to use extension ladder. No problem with safety but to charge an extra $300 on top of $129 for regular maintenance is a total rip off and money grab. I bought my AC from them 6 yrs ago and have it regularly serviced by them and they have never charged me for the extra man. Will not use them for anything!

    Lindstrom is a terrible company with disgusting customer service. They forged my signature on documents when I had to call them the day after their repair because they repaired nothing and charged me $1000. Take heed of all of these negative reviews. Workers were rude unprofessional and lazy. Representatives for the company were the same. If I could give them zero stars I would. Please go somewhere else.

    My new unit was installed 2/2021 and from the beginning the wiring was crossed and I had heat not AC. 6 visits before it was fixed. I have had nothing but problems with Lindstrom and my unit keeps getting blocked up and shutting off. Lindstrom charges per visit when they should correct the issues.

    I don’t even know where to begin. Air conditioning is two years old. Had a “maintenance”, checkup on a Friday. Three days later, my ceiling caved in. The drain was clogged supposedly, and it flooded and the ceiling was soaked, and with the weight of the water it just crashed out on the floor with a big hole in the ceiling, we had somebody come out and look at it, supposedly fixed the problem, I called him back an hour later because the air was still not on. That’s when he supposedly found a leak. Sold me a maintenance package. When I called the office to schedule the maintenance, I expressed how upset I was because somebody was just there three days ago and my whole ceiling was soaking wet and with the weight of the water it collapsed. I was told, "Drains get clogged, ma’am," "Really? Somebody was just there and supposedly checked everything." That’s just one of many issues I have with this company.

    Do not buy an air conditioning from them. So now here it is three months later and the air conditioning is not working. Still waiting for their 24/7 -365 days of on-call repair to call me. Spend your $7000 somewhere else because my insurance company paid over $8000 to fix the ceiling, the walls with new drywall paint, which after they fixed it, they dropped me. So thanks Lindstrom. As far as their, 24/7 365 days repair they need to change that because the first time I called in a hold of my ceiling. I had to wait four days for them to come out. And now with no air-conditioning the earliest, I have to wait three days for them to come.

    Do not use this company, bad company, unprofessional workmanship! Sales person sold seven grand air conditioning unit with new best thermostat “Ecobee” only to find out that thermostat has been installed is a cheap version that can’t detect overflow killswitch problem! As a result, huge leak underneath of the floorboards and tile floor must be changed!!! Management not to be found with run-around excuses. I would give zero stars if I could!!!

    I hesitate to write this, maybe they are better, DOUBT it based on my experience. Had an air handler and cooling unit installed in garage, that went well. I watch the technician through the whole visit, you should too, FIRST follow up "maintenance" service call I stepped inside the house a moment, came back and saw the technician "scraping" the aluminum tubes of the coil with a pocket knife. Clearly trying to weaken the welds on the coil bend. Threw him out, called company, next month unit had a leak in the coil.

    Don't use this company, paid $ 7000 for the unit, had to pay $3000 for the "coil scraping incident"...darn it, I did not film it. They hire anyone who can breathe. If you use them, WATCH THEM THE ENTIRE TIME. I use other local companies for annual maintenance. This occurred in PALM BEACH COUNTY, SOUTH FLORIDA. Follow up maintenance calls have techs showing up an hour later (appt 11:00 - 1:00) show up at 2:00. Lindstrom down here a VERY, VERY WEAK customer satisfaction rating.

    I am a long time customer of Lindstrom Air (about 16-17 years). Bought 2 new units from them. Originally the service was very good, but unfortunately this changed tremendously. I had a problem with my A/C. Different technicians came out multiple time but the problem was not fixed. Last time a technician came out Saturday June 8, 2023 and cleaned the drain line, etc. Also they gave me a $400 estimate to replace some flow switches. We tried unsuccessfully to talk with a supervisor or manager but that is not possible.

    By Sunday Morning my A/C stopped working. It is very hot in West Palm Beach but the company gave an appointment for Wednesday June 12, 2023 (three days in this heat without A/C). Of course I called another company. Fortunately the technician really knew what to do. He came out immediately (June 9, 2023) and really fixed the issue. By the way flow switches are NOT required. The flow switch that I have is just fine. The A/C is working great. Is this a good service? Is this a way to retain loyal customers? I gave them 1 star but this is too high.

    Total rip off!! I never leave bad reviews but I feel like I’ve been completely ripped off and want to warn others. I spent over $1700 for about two hours of work. They initially told me it would be an extensive project that would require cutting my cabinets and then the tech told me good news, he didn’t have to cut the cabinet and he was finished in about two hours. I thought that would mean a reduction in my estimate but nope! I asked if parts were expensive and he said no (I think I needed one or two valves and a little bit of line). I tried to speak with a manager after the job was done but of course I didn’t get a call back. My tech was good and got the job done but I do not feel the pricing was remotely fair for the size of the job.

    Called Lindstrom yesterday as one of the A/C units did not work. Lindstrom repairman came, informed me the capacitor of the A/C unit had to be changed. 1) Lindstrom charged me $495 for the work; 2) The repairman worked for less than 20 minutes; 3) The capacitor (tp-cap-45/5/440r) market price is less than $25. Another example: A few months ago, I had an underground water pipe leaking on the first floor. Lindstrom‘ best quote for the work is about $17,000 ( no kidding, $17,000) !!! I had another company to repipe the whole house (!) for $13,000! Will never use Lindstrom again!

    Had purchase an brand new unit through Lindstrom for $10.000. Had nothing but leaks and extensive damages to my ceiling with holes from leaks. To date the unit still problems and leaking and mold damages. This has been a total nightmare. The Mgr from the ac dept Bud seems to not wanna be bothered and this is a complete torture what they put me through. Again I have them here the service light after a tech was here 2 weeks ago and found much more damages and mold to my unit. Now I have to solve the wet ceiling again and mold up in the unit the tech showed me in photos. I would highly never recommend this company to anyone. Thanking you for your time...

    We recently called this company to come fix our AC. They put air freeze into it which caused more problems. We were charged $300 for this job and the guy who did it was there for almost three hours. He spent most of his time in the car and barely any time actually working on the AC. Since he did this, the AC got worse and we had to call another company to fix the damage they caused. They are not returning our calls. We wish to get compensation for the damage that was caused and it would be nice to at least have the courtesy to answer us or get back to us. We left a voicemail explaining the situation and they never even bothered to call back. Customer service is poor. Not sure if it was the guy specifically working that day that was the problem but I will not be working anymore with this company. I hope to hear back from someone.

    Home Damage 8/1/22. While cleaning the outside coil, the technician noticed water and dirt going under the door of my home office. I found standing water covering a significant portion of my laminate floor. After vacuuming water, pulling up rugs, and removing furniture it was clear that water had seeped between the boards and damaged the floor. At this time 8/11/22, multiple attempts have been made to resolve the issue with Lindstrom and no offer for restitution in whole or in part has been made.

    I have a three year old home with Carrier equipment. Lindstrom installed it so I have been using them for maintenance. Nine days ago one of the units that cools my kids' bedrooms stopped working. I called early in the day for service hoping they could come out the same day but they were able to come to fix in the next day. The tech spent about three hours trying to fix it but could not and said it needed a computer board. He could not give me a date or time when he could come back as I had to wait for dispatch to call me. The next day they call to say the board would be in "a couple of days and when they receive it they would schedule the repair". I am on day 3 without air in the kids' bedrooms it is over 80 degrees, I move them to another part of the house with air to sleep temporally.

    Two days later I get the call from dispatch and schedule the tech for Monday (7 days without ac). Tech comes out, spends another 4 hours and guess what, it was not the board it was an inverter. It needs to be ordered. Again he could not give me a date or time when he could come back as I had to wait for dispatch to call me. The next day my wife calls and is told that they will call us when the part is in and not to call again. WHAT! I call and demand to speak to a supervisor. I literally get the runaround, the phone people are well trained, I had to insist on getting at least the name. After asking four times the operator finally told me the supervisor is Bud, no last name and put me through to his voicemail.

    I left a curt but professional message expressing my displeasure with the situation. I explained that if the first tech had diagnosed the problem correctly a week earlier we would not be in this situation. I expect "emergency" service as they advertise and to call me back. Bud did call back and left me a message on Tuesday (8 days without AC) stating that he would get the part expedited and get it fixed Wednesday afternoon. Guess what... no one called me today (9 days without AC). I just called for Bud and the gate keeper would not let me talk to him. I was told they did not get the part. When I asked if it was expedited I was told they did not know. They expect it tomorrow which will be 10 days without AC. They are incompetent, Bud the supervisor can not be reached by a client. I called the builder of the house and he stated that Lindstrom is great at installations but they are terrible at service. I agree!

    I called them because my AC capacitor was not working. I knew that when I called. I was told it would be $79 dollar service call unless it was covered by warranty then the service charge would be waived. My system is only 3 years old, installed by Lindstrom. What a joke the warranty is, I was charged $344 dollars to replace a $10 to $30 dollar part. Under warranty the part should be close to free or pro-rated NOT 11 times the cost! The tech told me that was the cost of the capacitor and showed me the listing. The receptionist told me it was for labor for the 10 min it took him to do. All they did today is make sure one of their customers will never call them or refer the company to anyone else. I hope it was worth it.

    If you think they are sincere and want to help when they reply to a negative post, don't be fooled. The (please call us so we can go over your concerns) is just show. I have called several times and I was told every time that the manager is not there. He has yet to return my call. The receptionist said all he is going to tell you is, that is the price. This is a predatory business model that in no way benefits the customer. It is designed to line their pockets. I now laugh at the positive reviews that say you get what you pay for. I paid the price of a complete window unit and only got a cheap capacitor.

    I received excellent service when Lindstrom Air was contacted to service my air conditioner. When it is 90 degrees outside and your AC shuts down you can depend on Lindstrom! I was able to schedule a tech to come out same day and find the problem. He was professional, polite and kept me informed of the problem & fix. I thank you for having such a fine staff that sure makes my life better knowing I can depend on this great service.

    If you want to be totally ripped off and treated like total crap then I would recommend you call Lindstrom. The repair man - Rocky (something like that) - was beyond rude. My a/c was not working and he came in, looked at my a/c and said it was my motor and it would be $1800 plus and he did not have the part and said it would be a minimum of 3 days or up to 30 days.

    I said what will I do with no a/c for that long and he said to buy a window unit at Home Depot and return it, once I got the motor working. I would of agreed to it, as I was scared and desperate for the a/c to work but his attitude was so out of control that I paid him for the $45 for the service call and threw him out. I called someone else, they a brand new motor the following day (on a Saturday no less) and charged me 25% of what Linstrom quoted me and there was no extra charges and no contracts to lock me in. And, the man was so nice....$450 total....this is a real review. I find this criminal!

    Lindstrom was very quick to answer and set up a same day appointment and that's about the only good experience I had with them. I had an AC issue where the compressor was no longer working on a 10-year Trane system, so I had a good feeling it was some type of start/run capacitor that was faulty. The technician arrived and quickly determined that it was not a good sign that no hot air was being expelled from the outside condensing unit. He hooked up his diagnostic equipment and determined that indeed one of the capacitors was bad as he temporarily hooked up a spare device and the system began to cool.

    He proceeded to explain that the cost to replace the capacitors would exceed $1k and that he recommended that I replace the unit because a blown capacitor is a sign of an aging system. He also stated that he had to order the parts directly from Trane, which would take about 2-3 days so I would have to make do with no AC until then. In my mind I'm thinking, (1) Why couldn't he use a temporary part to hold me over until the Trane parts came in or (2) find a suitable aftermarket replacement. He pushed to consider replacing the system, so I paid him for the visit and promptly contacted another repair company through Home Advisor. 2-hours later the technician arrived and determined the same problem as the Lindstrom tech and replaced the capacitor for less than $200.

    I'm truly disappointed in the Lindstrom tech and believe he could have done more to fix the unit instead of, in my opinion holding me over a barrel, leaving me no option to replace the system. I will now identify the capacitors needed for my system and obtain spares for less than $30 for emergencies. Moral of the story is to always get a second option if your gut is telling you something isn't right.

    Would not use Lindstrom again in an emergency situation. They took 7 hours to get here, and still charged hundreds in emergency/father-hour fees. Total cost was $876 to fix a busted pipe, despite handling the emergency with a complete lack of urgency, which resulted in unnecessary damage. On the plus side, the plumber they sent was professional and courteous.
