1.Lack of communication. Initially given a delivery quote of 7-8 business days for delivery. After 7 days we had not heard anything regarding where our things are. We spoke to both Melissa and Louis in customer service, neither could say exactly where our things were. They presumed our things were in a “staging area” but could not say in what state they were. Informed us that they would reach out to the driver or dispatch once they had a better idea. They would call and leave a message asking us to call them back. However, 90% of the time it would go straight to voicemail. After two and a half weeks without our things they finally said it would be delivered in about 5-9 days.

Don't use this company! Not only did their estimate go over 20%, but they demanded 3 payments all BEFORE services were completed. Then, they lost or stole $1,200 worth of electronic equipment. Stay away!

I am filing this complaint against International Van Lines / Ocean Star International Inc. regarding IVL File/Ref. **. My wife and I contracted with IVL for an international household-goods move from the United States to our home in Alassio, Italy. IVL’s own invoice identifies the service as “Door to Door / 20' Container.” IVL charged $14,995 for the door-to-door move, plus insurance, storage, and related fees, for a total of $18,906.77. IVL’s invoice confirms the full amount was paid and the amount due was $0.00.

I would not recommend International Van Lines based on my recent cross-country move. I was told explicitly, both in my contract and on the phone, that IVL does not use brokers and that my move would be handled by their own registered movers. That was not true — the delivery was handled by a third-party driver operating his own truck, who told me directly he doesn't work for IVL.

Really good experience with International Van Lines! I would definitely recommend to anyone Who needs help moving. They arrived promptly and wrapped everything securely and hauled it to my new apartment. Nothing broken and nothing lost. They are as professional as it gets and they get things done! Very glad to have hired them.

These 3 movers were so very professional, polite and efficient. Hands down the best decision I’ve made in regards to moving. They are professionals and timely. Do not hesitate to contract their services !!!

Worst experience for any service, ever. I would leave negative stars if I could. This is a small carrier, they have 14 trucks & 12 trailers per the FMSCA. Other well known interstate movers have 100s. They over promise up front, then just not deliver after pick up, with basically zero communication. I was told it could take 2-21 days, after the First Available Delivery Date (FADD), to deliver our belongings, but typically takes less than 10 days. They are mandated by the FMSCA to take no more than 30 calendar days to deliver your goods. My FADD was May 26th, its now June 27th and I've yet to receive my delivery or receive any proof its been picked up or on its way.

This is the 4th time we have used International Van Lines in the last 9 years which is saying something. Their movers take the utmost care in wrapping furniture and art. Additionally they are very polite and communicate well. I'm sure we will be using them again in the future. Thank you International Van Lines!

Recently used International Van Lines for a move from TX to FL. Booked with only a few weeks notice and the process from start to finish was quite literally, simple. I had the best team of movers, David, Mike, and Jon. They were quick, attentive, and so kind. It was an unfortunate moving day with pouring rain, but they never once complained and continued to work until the job was done. I would 1000% book and use them again. Thank you again!!

This moving company is simply amazing!!! This is the second time I’ve used them and they are hardworking, efficient, and super helpful and kind! Not to mention how strong and fast these guys were! Steve, Jon, David, and Mike were all so kind and very efficient. I also felt like the process was smooth and the price was perfect! My household hired the International Van Lines team for a move across town, and it could not have been quicker and more efficient. The moving team of Jon, Mike, David, and Steve showed up on time (actually a bit early) and worked like true pros. They transported heavy boxes and large furniture with ease and care -- nothing was damaged in transit. Multiple stairs and walk-ups were no problem. And the moving team members were very personable and pleasant, making the moving day less stressful and dare I say fun. We felt like were in good hands the whole day and even finished the move a lot earlier than expected.

I am so happy that we got Alex and his team for the move over the weekend. Alex and his team show professionalism, punctual and take extreme care of our furniture. Very impressed and definitely will recommend them anyone who is looking for a reliable moving crew.

Getting things started was a breeze. The customer service people were pleasant and explained the packers would come on Wednesday and the movers come on Thursday. This did not happen. The packers showed up and only one of them spoke any English. There were no women and I was rather hoping there would be at least one woman to pack my feminine belongings. And, to make matters worse, one of them was having intestinal issues… Completely befouled our guest bathroom (which I had to clean up with gloves and bleach,) and went through more than a roll of toilet paper. We then found out they would be packing up the moving truck the same afternoon. We tried to explain that was not what we were told but they did it anyway.

International Van Lines made my move a breeze! The team was punctual, professional, and handled all my belongings with great care. Their efficiency and attention to detail were impressive. The entire process, from booking to moving day, was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend them!

These guys are the best.. Great, respectful consumer service! They were very professional and seemed to really have experience, seems knew what they needed to get get done! I highly recommend them to anyone I know!

I had a great experience with International Van Lines and have used them twice for moves in the last few years. Rick and his crew are great professionals and work efficiently and are organized. Would definitely hire International Van Lines again.

They showed up a few minutes before the appointment, worked quick and efficient. Unloaded our furniture and items and placed them in the appropriate room. Did not waste any time and were very professional. I highly recommend International Van Lines!!

International Van Lines was recommended by a friend who moved cross-country, and we called them. The reps who packed up the house were great, but before they did, a video was done. It was worthless because it didn’t end up being what they thought it would be. There were more cubic feet. I had some communication problems with the lead person of that group, and also with the people I was dealing with on the phone at the time. They were very abrupt and rude with me, and it got ugly. But we were already in the process. The guy that I spoke with told me a certain amount of money down and what was acceptable. Then, the guy who was in charge told me something else when they came to pick everything up. We had to wait and get in touch with the guy on the phone. It was very chaotic. The person on the phone was rude.

Alex and his crew, Steve and Mike were fantastic. Very friendly, careful, and professional with our one bedroom move that consisted of a lot of bigger furniture, bookshelves, desks, etc. Highly recommend them and International Van Lines.

I was so worried about moving. But they made it super simple and stress free. They took very good care of my stuff and they got it all done in a reasonable amount of time. Without them, I wouldn’t even be halfway done. It was worth the price for sure!

Outstanding work by everyone who I had the pleasure of communicating with from this company. We've never been so please with movers like IVL from Florida to New York! Price couldn't be better and they deserve a 10/10 from myself and my family for the dedication they have for each family's move they take part in! I will use again and I can't wait for my sister to use them as well to be part of the calmness they bring. By far the best moving experience we had. The team was super professional, did an amazing work and took a great care of all our belonging. Our house had million stairs and I know it's extremely heavy task due to it, but the team was so professional and it did not matter to them at all. I would use them again and recommend anyone!

Alex and his team made the move across town really smooth. They worked really hard getting our furniture safely to our new home, even handling annoying Ikea furniture that had to be broken down to get out of the apartment.

I had a move with IVL from New York to Florida and I’m pleased with the outcome. I had no issues other than a minor delay on delivery, but they sorted things out. They have an excellent customer service team and a great group of movers who did an excellent job. Moving is very stressful, and I’m thankful I chose a mover who actually cared about their service.

International Van Lines is professional and the crew that moved us was great! They cost a little more but I trust this company and their crew. They were on time, brought tapes and blankets and plastic wraps, tools, etc. What they quoted was what I paid and nothing else was added. I was quoted by other companies and the quote was less expensive but the quotes they sent were questionable and vague. I was very happy with International Van Lines and would recommend to my friends and family.

I hired International after seeing their reviews. I did some research and they were the quickest and very reasonable. It was a small move from one apartment to another and it was smooth. Absolutely no issues. I would definitely use them again. Plus, the website is very easy to navigate and customer service is on point!

We just used International Van Lines this week and had a great experience. David and his team helped us finish packing and managed to get some Ikea closets out of our old place and into tight spaces in our new place. Prices were very reasonable for a full day move. Highly recommend them.
