We're in the middle of a home renovation and, like all construction projects, we've run into issues and delays. Many of these issues are the result of personal contractors we've hired. The big issue is that our hardwood floors were installed incorrectly, damaging all 55 boxes we purchased from Home Depot. We went back to the North Olmsted, Ohio location where we placed our order and re-purchased them. After telling them what happened, the employee who helped us reorder them extended the friends and family discount to us, and got us free shipping (we had to pick up the first order ourselves to avoid the additional delivery fee). We received a notification the day of our expected delivery that the delivery had been rescheduled by the entire WEEK. This would push back all of our work — installation, cabinet installation, countertop templating, painting, etc.
Oh, I'm also 7 months pregnant with a toddler, so we have a legitimate timeline and issue with extending this project. The store manager, Jessica, took my call and was SO KIND and understanding. She had a truck bring us half of the order (what they had in stock) that same day and her entire team has kept us updated on when the remaining boxes will arrive. Everyone from that store has been friendly and helpful — everyone in the flooring department, special orders, customer service line, and the delivery men. I cannot say enough good things about the team in the North Olmsted store. It's not an ideal situation, but it's so nice and reassuring to know these kind people are doing what they can to help us. Jessica and her team deserve some recognition for amazing customer service!

I’m very unhappy with my new carpet that was recommended by Home Depot employee. It was recommended for household with dogs, the carpet is only a month old and has lots of snags, I’ll have to replace the carpet if this continues. This should have never been recommended for household with dogs.

I purchased a carpet and tile install for my living room from Home Depot. The contractor they hired to do the tile work was a super nice guy. I liked him a lot. However, personality doesn't trump quality work. After he was done, the scheduled contractors for the carpet came. I'm not racist or anything like that but at least send someone who can communicate when there is a problem... I received a call from Home Depot while the carpet guys were here, saying they need to charge me for an additional floor covering removal. Tried to communicate with the guys that were doing the install but couldn't because they only knew about 5 words of English.
Why was this not brought to my attention before they covered up what they supposedly "removed" and why was it never an issue any other time I've replaced the carpet in that room? Seems a little fishy. So I talked to the lady that called me from Home Depot and she started getting an attitude with me about why I haven't said anything about the uneven tiles from the install a week ago. Well, seeing that that room was under construction, we didn't use the room. Waited for it to be finished. Now that the carpet is done, I inspected everything. She got an attitude, "Well you didn't say anything when it was done." "Well... Yeah, I didn't think it was done." Who leaves tile uneven to the point where it is in fact a trip hazard and considers it "done". Therefore the job is not done.
I am not a contractor or in the construction business anymore but what I do know is if someone is paying quite a bit of money to have work done to their home, you want it done right. Home Depot is not the option you want to look towards. If anything, run as far away from them as you can. Even look up videos on how to do things yourself. Probably would end up working out better. Should have listened to other people about them. Lesson learned here. Never using home depot anything again. What a FAIL.

I ordered a rug to be installed by Home Depot with instructions for a second rug to be installed in front of the room to go under the main rug with the edge to be binded on the top rug. Contractors moved the seam of the rug from the back of the room to the front of the room at the top of the stairs entering the room. I called Home Depot for a interpreter cause the contractors didn't speak English. The person I spoke with re-insured me the contractors knew what they were doing. One of the contractors came to me with a paper to sign off saying the job was done. I had already paid for the contractors to return to my home after the binding was completed so I knew something was wrong. How could the job be finished? When I went to look at the room it was not done correctly. They installed the whole room with one carpet and didn't install the second rug under the floor like I asked.
Trying to reach someone in customer service is not easy always on hold or being told someone will call me. You will wait days for a response. After reaching someone I was told they could have someone come back to my home and do it again. I had already had the walls repainted from the damage done while installing the original carpet. In the end I'm still not happy the room is not done correctly. I would recommend Home Depot products but not their contractors. If you don't mind the job not being done correctly or the rug not seamed together, or hours on the phone, I would hire your own contractors. Home Depot does not offer you compensation for your time or make sure the job is being done correctly while the contractors are in your home.

I purchased about 1,000 sq. ft. of laminate flooring from Home Depot with installation. HD chose G.S Floor Designs, Inc., 845 W University Dr., Arlington Heights, IL 60004, to do the installation. Once GS finally started the project, there was one delay after another. The job that was scheduled to take a week in June was not done until August 1. By the time I was done with GS, I ended up having to pay about $3,000 more than the original installation quote. The work was also poorly done. When GS said the installation was complete, it looked terrible because they had not installed the thresholds or the small molding that is customarily installed to conceal the edges of the floorboards where the floor met the exterior walls of the apartment.
When I insisted upon the molding, I had to pay more and the job took another month. After the installer repeatedly failed to show up to complete the job when promised, I had to hire someone else to finish it and touch up the paint. (The GS workmen had also left the newly-painted walls in terrible shape.) GS denied my claim for compensation for the poor quality of work, failing to finish the job, the significant under-estimate of the installation costs and the horrible delays. I did not hear anything from Home Depot after GS denied my claim. By the way, I have had very good experience using Lowe's for projects like this. Go there!

In 2021 we purchased Traffic Master carpet from Home Depot, we were told that they had trained installers by the salesman, and we never received a copy of the carpet seam layout. Also I was told that it would take a day or two to do the whole home. Which to our surprise & shock they did it in one day, I called G&S Flooring about the number of seams & placement of the seams, and they said to halt the job, but it would take several weeks to get material to finish. The carpet was installed by Private Contractors & they did the job as fast they could & we had a poorly laid carpet & a mess to clean up. Now the carpet looks worn & seams showing, we have contacted them & now they are using the warranty as a reason to drag it out.

If you are interested in having a new floor installed by Home Depot, don’t do it!!! I have have several installs by Home Depot over the years and they always use a third party contractor. I have never had an issue until now. Their flooring contractors are the absolute worst. Read other reviews about this. My experience was like many. I was not told that you must pay the whole job before they even do any work. The measurement guy came and did all the measurements and told me what materials I would need to level my floor. I was having vinyl flooring installed in my kitchen. They quoted me with $1800 of materials needed. I accepted the quote and then waited for installation. This is where things got interesting. I was told I must disconnect all appliances and move all non permanent furniture from the room. I did this one day prior to the installation team arriving.
Meanwhile I had to pursue the installation company. One guy shows up with a level and a hammer. No materials and no equipment to rip up the floor that I was being charged for. He takes his level and says he can’t do the job and says I need to hire a contractor. Ummmm, hello. I had to fight with that company and Home Depot to get a full refund. Meanwhile my house was torn apart for this install that never happened. Home Depot was useless at resolving the issue. Extremely poor customer service. Read other reviews and do not use them for flooring!!!

Do not use pro referral. I repeat do not use Home Depot's pro referral, they are worthless. They lead you down the path to trust the pro referral. I called there eight times there's no contract stating I have to pay upfront and never get my money back when the contractor quits and that's exactly what happened. The contractor demanded 50% upfront payments. I only trusted him because he was through the Home Depot.
When the contractor got two more upfront payments for some additional work he decided he wanted to quit and not work for me anymore. He further explained how his deposits were non-refundable even though he never did the work, let me say he never did the work but he said his payments were non-refundable. I find this absurd Home Depot wants nothing to do with it. I've called them 25 times. I've emailed them 60 times. They gave me the contractor's insurance name like that's going to be a lot of fun fighting with an insurance company. Please they're not going to want to give me anything.
I never would have given somebody money upfront. I only trusted him because he was a pro referral through the Home Depot and the acceleration team is resolving nothing. She is doing nothing. They play games, they call, hang up, they don't leave a message, they delay things and they're not doing anything for me. They're telling me that their contract says are not responsible, I never signed a contract. Worthless, worthless, worthless. There's so many difficulties and mistakes done in their processing. It was a full-time job trying to follow all the mistakes and misinformation and information not given on a couple of the orders.
I did find research that said I could try to sue the Home Depot and small claims court unbelievable. I don't even think the contractor that they referred me to has a license and that's why the guy got spooked. He doesn't care that he took my $2,200, Home Depot doesn't care that they took my $2,200. He didn't do the work. He's keeping my money. He has the key to my home. He has the garage remote and they don't care.
Do not use pro referral if you're not buying something or walking out the door with it. Don't use Home Depot. They're a mess and I probably will have to go to court. I'm just so perturbed that I trusted them, just can't believe I was victimized by the Home Depot pro referral and the person that they referred me to was a total imbecile. It's got some kind of mental problems or drug problems or con artist, theft problems, not going to be a victim of the Home Depot or Great Lakes all-around services. I'm not their victim.

I paid Home Depot upfront as is their policy over 22K$ for flooring materials, countertops and installation. The sales person said they should start within 3 weeks and be finished in about 6 weeks. 10 Months later they were not finished. By this time I had endured hundreds of phone calls and many many hours of phone carousels and hold time. I had engages with about 15 "Managers". The problems were mismatched tile, uneven height of installed tiles, missing baseboard, a dishwasher that could no longer fit under the (Home Depot installed) countertop and many more problems. I sued them in Tuolumne County Small Claims Court. After 3 hearings they lost and were forced to refunded me the 6k$ that I was asking for to fix problems. I recommend never to even consider using Home Depot.

They screwed me out of $3000. I ordered a rug. Waited about three months for it to come in. When it came in it was defective. They promised that they would replace it, they even wrote it on the paperwork and I never heard back from them. The installers they sent out did not know or speak English. They were obviously illegal and we could not communicate with them. Bad place to do business with. Stay away from them!

There's a lot to say here on the subject but I'll stick to the lowlights: In summary, the overall coordination between HD and the flooring company was a travesty. I've read a lot about this incredible disconnect in scheduling, ordering, and project status and my experience mirrors what I've read. I spent no less than 8 hours talking to HD and the flooring company to sort out discrepancies across the board. Complete and total aggravation and disruption.
Issues: wrong measurements leading to the wrong amounts of materials, the wrong scheduling dates, no show installation (twice). This, over the course of 7 months between signing the project at HD and final installation. The final insult was that I had to complete the application of an 8" piece of molding myself or it would have been a few more weeks before the installer could arrive to complete the job. Ridiculous. You get what you pay for folks, and what I paid for was time lost to coordinate between parties so this train wreck of coordination would finally end.

The installers did not speak english and there was no communication. The closet doors and old hardware should have been discussed and removed properly for the new carpet installation. Poor workmanship in the closet areas and the carpet was pieced together. The floor was uneven in my living room and no discussion was made on how I wanted to handle it. Now I have a dent about three feet wide in my floor. I called Home Depot several times, often without them documenting my calls. They do not want to fix the problems. I recommend hiring your own experienced carpet installers that know about specific problems that normally arise with carpet installation. They rushed in and rushed out. They did not take their time and do a good quality job.

POOR FLOOR installation! BUYER BEWARE! A MUST-READ! If I could rate them a 0 I would. We have had nothing but problems with Home Depot since they installed our floors that we purchased from them in October of 2021. Our contract states that the floors need to be leveled in our home per the manufacturer requirements and they are not abiding by it. They sent out Superior who has an installation company come out. They were AWFUL! The contractor they send out states contradicting information.
I have filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC because the service from this store was terrible. They do not get back to you and corporate is even worse! Home Depot only chooses to fix areas per what their contradicting contractor states. I have videos, emails, pictures, and an inspection report stating that we have dips all over our house due to the POOR floor installation and it needs to be fixed because we are experiencing issues and will continue to do so because they can not level our floors properly.
They have been out to our home 4 times to fix the POOR and CARELESS initial install. Not only could they not do the job right the first time but still cannot do the job right 3 times after that. PLUS every time they come into our home they cause damage to our property. We have over $3,500 in property damages to our home that they are not paying to fix.
They send these release agreements trying to con us out of our warranty and taking ownership that they messed up and our floors were done WRONG! The second time they came out to our home to try and fix our leveling, the installer took cardboard, YEP CARDBOARD boxes from our garage, tore up the floors and stuck that under my floors to help with the leveling. SERIOUSLY this is what we paid for? This is how you correct leveling issues? You stick a cardboard box under our floor. ABSURD!
Then going back and forth with them to fix that and other areas of our initial install, I have videos of FURNITURE MOVING. YES, you read correctly. I have videos of the furniture and picture frames moving when you are walking on the floors. I still have videos like this that they choose to not fix because they are siding with a contradicting contract that has NO CLUE what he is talking about. I asked for them to send another contractor out. Of course, they said no.
I had another contractor come out from a different company and he said my floors were so bad that I needed an inspector to come out. He also told me that there are mulitiple families in the CRYSTAL LAKE area that got screwed by HOME DEPOT. They paid money to have their floors done and had to go out and pay their company to come out and redo all the work. These families ended up paying two companies to do the job right because HomeDepot left them high and dry.
I paid for an inspector to come out and I sent them that report. GUESS WHAT! He stated my floors pretty much 3,000 square feet needs to be ripped up and redone. DUE to POOR FLOOR installation, due to deflection/dipping all over our home. This has been a hassle and a huge inconvenience for us and they are still not even acknowledging what the inspector wrote. They are trying to con us by sending us these release agreements and trying to get out of fixing our floors and having us pay for them. BUYER BEWARE! Contact me and I will send you these AMAZING videos, emails, pictures because I do not want anyone to go through what we are and we are out a lot of money plus damages to our property due to their carelessness and negligence.

We are seniors ordered plank flooring installed by Home Depot 3 months ago. The installers showed up and looked like they came from a homeless camp. Very rude and one said he had never done flooring before. They worked on and off 7 days then just quit. Said they were losing money on the job. We were left with a awful 1/2 done floor and heavy furniture to move back. Home depot had done our living room with professional installers the year before. We were very happy but this new install was the worst ever. I was afraid of them. They smoked ** and cursed in our home. Home depot has now sent the good installers to rip it all out and replace.

We ordered vinyl plank flooring and paid in full in mid November and were told it would be delivered the week of December 3rd. We had installation scheduled for mid December. Mid December I get a call saying the flooring is on back order. We were never told this when we ordered and paid for it. The following week, we get a call saying the flooring is stuck on a ship and waiting to port. We get this same phone call for the next 4-5 weeks. I had to reschedule installation 4 times. Up until now, I am very patient and polite. Finally I ask to speak to someone about canceling or getting a big discount. 15 minutes later I get a call saying they have the flooring in stock and they have had it all along.
Finally three months after we ordered and paid for the flooring I get a partial delivery. 46 out of the 52 cases of flooring were delivered. We paid for threshold delivery. The delivery driver wanted to leave it in my driveway. He claimed to not know it was supposed to be delivered inside. He said he could not do it because he was by himself. He brought it into our garage and my wife and I carried the 46 cases that weigh about 45lbs from our garage into our house.
I then call Home Depot about the missing flooring, molding, transitions…etc. They tell me I have to call the front desk. I call the front desk and they tell me I have to call another store because it was being delivered from the other store. I ask why I had to call since I ordered from their store. I call the other store and they said they would look into and call me back. They never did. I then get a call from the Home Depot we ordered from and finally get a manager who acted like I was inconveniencing him. He was very dismissive of my concerns and was just trying to get me off the phone. Finally, the rest of the material was delivered.
This installation experience was not a pleasant one either. American Carpet South came to install the flooring. I was scheduled for a Friday and Saturday installation. The day started off well. The installers arrived at 8:30AM on Friday and got to work. Around 4 PM I noticed they were not close to being done, so I asked one of the installers if they were coming back tomorrow, and he said maybe they would be finished today. Now, there was a language barrier, so we had a difficult time understanding each other.
At 4:30 pm I received and phone call from the the American Carpet South with a recorded message stating the installers will be at my residence on Saturday between 8am and 12 pm. I also received a text with the same message. At 4:54 PM I received a phone from someone from American Carpet telling me that the installers told her they think they can finish the job by 7 PM and she asked me if that was okay. I told her yes and they can even stay until 8 as long as they did a good job. She told me I would get a phone call if they were going to stay past 7 PM.
At 8:40 PM, I decided to talk to the installers again because they were still there and no one had called me. I was told by Bernie they would be done in one hour and they had to be done that day. He asked if that was okay. My response was “I guess”, knowing that was not true because I was scheduled for a Friday and Saturday installation and even received a phone call and text confirming the same.
At 10 PM I went back up to talk to the installers and they said they were almost finished. Clearly they were not. The entire hallway needed to be done, the quarter round needed to be finished and the transitions and stair nose need to be done. At 11 PM I went up to take a look at the work and pointed out some glaring issues to which they responded that there was nothing they could do about it. The installers were also very unhappy that they had to move furniture back to the rooms. I told them I had paid for the furniture to be moved. I had to help them move furniture because they just rolled their eyes whenever I told them which room furniture went to. On top of this being a major inconvenience for my family having them there until 11:18 PM, the issues with the work are:
-They left my home in a complete mess. The did an awful job cleaning up.-They used caulk to fill in gaps in the flooring.
-They nailed the stair nose in and the transitions in. If you step on them, you can feel the nails. Also, the transitions were installed poorly. The stair nose and transitions also move when stepped on.
-The quarter round was cut poorly and are installed unevenly. Some areas have nails sticking out of the quarter round. They should have cut them in angles so they fit together better.
-There is a big gap between the door trim and flooring in many locations.
-Small pieces of flooring used to fill in gaps. Poor job measuring.
-They left my front door wide open every time they went out. I had to close it at least 20 times. I asked several times if they could close it. The temperature yesterday started out in the low 30s and ended in the low 20s.
-Damaged furniture.
So basically, my installation is still not complete and based on how this entire experience has gone, I don’t have any confidence that it ever will be.

After waiting 2 months they show up today, pull my carpet, cutting it into pieces, remove it with padding, lay out my slate, call manager, manager comes, installers leave. Evidently they do not like to install flooring on Gyp Crete, which is what I have over my radiant floor heating system. I am sitting in my home with no flooring and no resolution other than, "Oops sorry, we can refund you your money."
Crystal (from flooring) and Shannon (store manager) were absolutely no help. This is how you operate? After I did the contract with them, paid the full amount, they call me the next day and told me they couldn't do the area around the fireplace. WTF, really Home Depot? Why couldn't they tell me that when they did the estimate, why wait after we commit and signed the contract and after we paid in full, close to $8,000? I'm really disappointed and very upset. American Carpet South installed our carpet for Home Depot. (They are a subcontractor for Home Depot, and then they subcontract to other installers.) We had a total of 8 visits from them to address the poor installation. They even delivered a replacement carpet with a hole in the middle of it. For weeks we had to live with just padding and tack strips while they reordered the carpet. They finally replaced the carpet, but we are back at square one with a poorly done job (poorly done seams and creases in places). One team even stole towels from us, which ACS reimbursed us for. They have lied to us repeatedly throughout the process. All told, the installers burned our carpet all the way through to the pad because they used the iron improperly, damaged walls which had just been painted in our brand new house, piled furniture into closets causing scratches, and broke a lamp. These damages have not been reimbursed.
We did get a partial credit from Home Depot because of the time it took from ordering to the final installation (4 months) and the trouble of being home for so many visits. However, American Carpet South has not reimbursed us for any of the damages. They are stalling and we may end up needing to take action in order to have the lamp replaced and the walls and furniture repaired. Buyer beware!

I contracted the installation of hardwood floors with Home Depot end of July. I had been debating working independently or with a major company, and ultimately decided to go to Home Depot because I thought the work would get done in a quality and professional manner. When I purchased my new floors, I was never informed of the situations where the contractors would be unable to install the floors. Home Depot had multiple opportunities to do this: during the initial transaction, when the technician came to measure the rooms, or when the contractors came to begin work this morning.
As a customer, I should be informed of all the variables at play so I can make an informed decision. The contractors came this morning, tore apart half of my carpet, tore flooring in appropriate places, and then said “sorry we can’t do the work, you need to find someone to level the floor”. As a customer that spent 10k, I wish someone from Home Depot would have informed me of issues with installing the floor if the house was not leveled. This is necessary information that Home Depot should bring forward to all their customers. The contractors left my place a mess, and uninhabitable. My landlord and I went in the next day and it took an hour to pay for it because neither Sasha nor the customer service ladies knew how to process a payment correctly for $6300! Isn't this what they do every day! We were then told they had to order the flooring and they would call us when it was to be delivered. We were told the install would take a day, that we could leave the product in the garage once it was delivered and that we only needed the threshold delivery for this reason. We were also told that the installers would move 6 items per room. (This is random but important later.)
We were then ghosted for a month until they told us the trim we wanted wasn't available so we had to pick a new color out. It took them a month to tell us this! My wife went to the closest store where the flooring associate was rude to her to the point that she left and went to the next closest store. They picked out the new item and the associate called the Truxel store to let them know. The Truxel store never even added that item to our order after my wife wasted 2 hours doing what they asked. I tried following up with the flooring department 3 times, the first time customer service bounced my call around for 20 minutes, the second time I was on hold for 30 minutes then the last time I was on hold for 10 minutes before I gave up.
I called corporate on a Friday to see if they could help because we were having nothing but problems. The man took my info and said someone would call me back in 30 minutes. The next day I called again as I didn't hear anything back and I was told they had no record of my call, but that she would enter my info and have someone call me back on Monday. Tuesday I once again called corporate and was told the lady from Monday did not process my call correctly and that it would still be another 24 to 48 hours before I received a callback.
We then finally got a call for delivery and set it for Monday June 28th and the Install was set for July 14th. The installers stated we had to keep the product in the house, that it would take 3 days to do the install and that they would only move 2 items per room. This was a major issue because it contradicted what we had been told and my wife and I both work and cannot just take 3 days off to babysit the installers. Also, if my wife was home in the morning when they came, as we had planned for the one day, she would not be able to move all the items out by herself as we were told 6 would be moved per room.
At this time I was still waiting for a call back from corporate hoping we could resolve some of these issues but still had heard nothing back. I received an email on Sunday stating we had our set delivery for the next day and that it was a threshold delivery and it defined a threshold delivery, to the outside of the house. Again this was a problem because I work mornings and only my wife is home and she is not responsible to bring all of this in the house.
I called the Truxel store and asked for a manager. I spoke to Butch and explained everything in detail also stating that we don't even have a delivery time, we had a 14 hour window and that was not going to work. He worked everything out for a set time on Monday and we also discussed compensation for all of this hassle. I asked for half of the install to be completed, about $1500 or I wanted the order canceled because this had been a nightmare. He stated he would only comp up to $500 and that he would have to get with his manager and get back to me.
Monday comes around, ready for delivery and they only delivered part of the order. I didn't call HD at this point because I was just tired of dealing with this and it wasn't worth it at this point. Shawn called me back later on Monday and said all they can do is $500 off my order. I told him they didn't even deliver the whole order and he said, "We had the rest coming on Tuesday." I explained to him that I knew nothing about this and if that was the case they could have just delivered it all on Tuesday instead of coming twice!!! He didn't seem to be bothered at all by the incompetence of his employees. I told him $500 was not close to being worth it and at this point I wasn’t dealing with HD and wanted to cancel the order.
They set an appt for Tuesday (the next day) to pick up the flooring. He was supposed to get back to me on how the refund would be processed, if we needed to go in or if it would go back onto the card automatically. Thursday rolls around and still no call back from Shawn so once again I CALLED HOME DEPOT and asked him how the refund would be processed. He then told me they already issued the refund and emailed me a receipt. In this whole process I must say that the only thing that went according to schedule with no hassle at all was canceling the appointment and having the flooring picked up. They were professional and even called to tell me they would be a little late. I don't know if anyone will actually read this or even care but I care. This should not have happened.
I have been a loyal HD customer my whole life, I have spent thousands of dollars there and with the refinance on the house, planned on spending thousands more fixing things up. After this experience, I will never shop at a HD again. My hard earned money will not go to a company that treats their customers this way and are so unprofessional. I now drive the extra 10 minutes to Lowe's and will be going there tomorrow to get the process started on our flooring along with the bathroom remodels. Originally I tried to post this review on the HD website but it was denied saying it did not meet their ‘guideline’ requirements. After reading the requirements, that was a load of bull and nothing I said was on their list of things not to say. They don't even want honest feedback from their customers!

I had a great experience with the Johns Creek staff and management. I only needed to re-carpet a stairwell, 16 square feet. The install company that Home Depot Contracts with is called U.S. Installation Group. They not only cancelled my installation but did not respond to me or the store management who I got involved. When I finally reached a supervisor at U.S. after holding for 20 minutes, not only was she condescending but acted as if she was doing me a favor by talking to me. Needless to say I've wasted 1 1/2 months on this project and cancelled. I cannot believe that a great company as Home Depot would be doing business with this shoddy company.

This company installed my floors in 2019 and as of today, I still have a lifted panel on my stairs that has not been fixed. Since the end of 2020 both the installer and the manager have been to my home, each have taken two panels to shape into the edge of the stairs for replacement. My last communicated with the manager, David was in January, where he sent me a picture of the panel, showing complete and said he would reach out to me in 1 to 2 weeks to schedule the installation. Here it is, three months later and he doesn't even respond to me. I do everything on email to have proof that I did reach out to him, he was also rude and loud last time we actually spoke on the phone. Don't subject yourself to this type of service, look elsewhere. It's been two years and my stairs aren't complete, and I am afraid someone might trip and fall on that lifted floor.

My entire experience with Home Depot carpet has been frustrating and in general very concerning. Other than one 'cos' no one ever returned a call. No one ever called back when they said they would. Once the carpet was paid for and installation scheduled, they have rescheduled 5 times. Initially I was told by 2 Home Depot employees that they could do the installation over several days as my house is very small and I have nowhere to move things. Then I was told that was not the case and each additional day is $100.
On the 3rd reschedule I asked for compensation since I had 3 times hired people to help me do this move. The person I talked to gave me the amount of $200. That amount is not even 5% of the cost of the carpet. After pursuing this I was told the compensation amount would be determined after the installation in case there were other issues. (????) It is now months later and I am still waiting. Why didn't I ask cancel my order? Because 1/2 my house has been packed up for over 2 months and I can't imagine starting over - in addition each time I thought about this the carpet was always en route. Not!!!! PS one funny thing - in one of my calls with one of the managers or leads or something, this person actually gave me the names of the employees who screwed up. Funny. Choose another company.

My experience with Home Depot-carpet had been horrible. I purchased a significant amount of carpeting and through the process, the experts never lead me to believe that the carpet would not be suitable for the area I had it installed. The quality of the carpet is horrible, it looks dirty and old. The customer service department simply told me “sorry you’re having buyer’s remorse, it’s people like you that try to cheat the system that we got rid of our 90 day guarantee”. I am not here to cheat any system, I expect high quality and knowledgeable staff when I am sending $4000+. Absolutely will never go back, and they should be ashamed to put such low quality carpet into homes.

I thought it was odd that Home Depot had me sign a contract that once 3 days had passed from purchasing the flooring and installation everything was non-refundable. Makes sense after all the bull crap that has happened with this order. I've never had this bad of an experience from any store I've ever dealt with and I am an extremely understanding person when it comes to mess-ups. First the measurer didn't add transition pieces to the quote, then the wrong product was sent to the wrong store, then the transition pieces couldn't be ordered through the store and I had to order them myself and figure out which ones were the correct pieces for what I needed, then four of the cartons that I got of my flooring were broken, then the ones sent to me to replace those were the wrong ones, and now they won't come in time (even if they are the correct ones) for the installation which is already through the third party the Home Depot uses.
Don't even get me started on the fact that the third party is not the installer and would not let me talk to the installer to get answers about use of existing baseboards and trim, and it took 2 weeks to get that answer. I was told that maybe I could order the correct flooring myself to be delivered and I could get here in time, but I would have to pay way more than I had originally and she couldn't guarantee a refund of the difference. I called for an estimate to purchase and install laminate flooring. Local Home Depot employees caused a number of mishaps (wrong phone number, incomplete address, etc.) which they tried to blame on me. After finally getting measured, I called as directed (to the corporate office?) for a quote. This was also an ordeal as they continually entered the wrong information. The customer service representative seemed unfamiliar with their products because she couldn't find item and model numbers. I had to look them up for her. When she finally found it with my help, she informed me that they didn't have a matching border for it--but they would bring me unfinished border, and I could paint it myself. She was great about trying to sell me cleaning products, though.
I was ultimately informed that I would be unloading the truck and carrying the flooring BY MYSELF into my home. She also told me I'd need to put the flooring where it needed to be in each room. I asked if they expected me to carry it to the second floor. She thought I was only getting one floor of my house done. Apparently, she didn't look at the measurements for two separate levels of my home, so I doubt I would have received an accurate quote. I'm an older, small female. While I'm in good shape, I assumed since I was paying the company for the product and installation they'd unload their own product. I then remembered years ago I bought a water heater from Home Depot, and the able-bodied man who delivered it watched me have to carry it by myself to the back of my home.
At least they let me know beforehand this time. Despite the water heater incident, I have been a loyal customer to Home Depot. I'll never buy anything from them again. I was treated rudely, and the people I dealt with (other than the man who measured my house) were entirely incompetent. I have called several other businesses (Lowe's and small local businesses) for estimates. I asked first thing if I would have to unload the flooring myself, and they acted incredulous that anyone would ask that question--as any decent company should.

Strong recommendation: do not use Home Depot for your flooring needs as they use a company called "USIG" for their flooring installations. I will shorten my story as best I can. My nightmare started in May, 2019 and ended in July, 2020. We contracted with Home Depot to have our existing Pergo and tile removed throughout the house, and then have all that replaced with new Pergo purchased through Home Depot. The cost was in the thousands. Home Depot uses a company called USIG to do their floor installations, and have used them for roughly 20 years. Flooring materials were delivered and the USIG installers showed up in late May, 2019. Only one could speak any English, and that wasn’t much. They removed the existing flooring and installed the new Pergo throughout the house and it looked very nice.
The work was completed in June, 2019. However, the USIG installers had not checked the cement foundation to ensure it was level before putting down the new flooring. They should have. The contract stated that the floor would be brought up to specs if it was needed. Within a month after the new flooring was installed, the floor began to creak and squeak throughout when you walked across it. I called and stopped in at Home Depot to complain and asked that someone come out and fix the problem as both labor and materials were under warranty.
Communication from/between Home Depot and USIG appeared poor or non-existent from the beginning of this effort. Fast forward to January, 2020. Over the next few weeks, several inspectors came out to inspect the flooring installation - 1 independent, 1 from USIG, and 1 from the manufacturer. Home Depot and USIG received a report stating that the floor was not prepped correctly - that the floor was not flat when the new flooring was installed. Eventually, Home Depot and USIG agreed that USIG would come out and correct the problem (whatever effort that would entail) so that the floor did not squeak.
In late May, 2020, a USIG flooring guy came out to start the fix with the mindset that it would be an easy and quick fix - i.e. - taking a few floor boards out here and there, filling in the low spots, and then reinstalling the floor boards. He removed boards and began to pour product on the floor to get it to self-level. As he progressed, he realized the problem was much bigger than originally thought. He discovered that when the original USIG installers did the work, they had not done the necessary prep work to level the floor where needed. After three days, USIG called and told me they might have to replace the entire floor. They would get back to me.
Half of our floor had been pulled up down to the cement; furniture and appliances had been moved; our refrigerator was in our living room; our home was in disarray (and it stayed this way for two months). I tried to get updates several times from USIG about next steps, but I got no information or updates from them. I kept escalating until finally Home Depot got someone from USIG headquarters to call and work with me. Only then did things finally start to move forward.
It was agreed that USIG would pull up the entire (new) flooring, level the foundation where needed, and redo the whole floor with new product at no cost to me. Product was delivered and USIG sent out their best local installer and by mid-July, 2020, the job was completed. The floor looks great and as of this writing, there is only one place where there is a squeak. In the end (after a year), we got the new floor we wanted with no creaking and squeaking (except in one place so far). But I would not wish this nightmare and process upon my enemy. My advice – do not use Home Depot for your flooring needs because of their relationship with USIG.

Home Depot - Carpet Services...A joke! The supplier they use CFI...a joke too! On May 23rd, 2020 we got a quote to carpet stairs which included floating stairs. On May 26th, 2020 we ordered the carpet. June 12th...they were coming to install! So excited!!! June 12th, was a disaster. All the stairs were cut short. Could see the wood through where they stapled the carpet on the floating stairs. Looked terrible. A super rushed job. No masks were worn and the installers were rude.
Called June 13th to the local store to voice concerns. Played phone tag for a week after to get situated. Finally, a supervisor called and requested photos. Easy enough, sent. Got a call back saying enough was seen via photos to go ahead and have the job redone. We were told we’d hear from the “best of the best” with stairs to make an appointment which ended up being made for July 6th.
July 6th - Husband takes off of work to be home for the redo. A field tech shows up solo with no carpet or crew. We’re dumbfounded. The guy was there to look at the job already done and then decide if it needed to be redone, however that had already been determined. Oh well. Was told the installers didn’t lay padding down correctly, and acknowledged many more issues with the install that we didn’t even notice and noticed the job was definitely rushed!!! Was told we’d hear from someone in a few days to actually schedule the job to get redone (which we thought was happening on the 6th). We were very cordial about it and patient. Until the VERY next day when someone called from CFI to ask how the install was on the 6th. NO JOKE!
They thought it was installed as we thought it was going to be. We give it a bit, and don’t hear from anyone about the new installation date. We called our field tech and was told CFI was waiting on Home Depot to order the carpet. Meanwhile, every time we called Home Depot, they blamed CFI or was told it was being worked on and upper management was looking into it, yet nobody from upper management ever reached out to us. Finally, after speaking to a great rep at the local store….we got optimistic things were gonna finally get done. They had CFI call us direct and we scheduled the installation date on July 23rd for July 31st. We were so excited about finally getting this all taken care of!
July 31st - we get a call that CFI will be here in one hour!!!! So excited. We asked the installers if they were aware of what happened before and wanted to verify it would be done correctly with the padding, etc. They claimed yes!! A few minutes later, we got a call saying they didn’t have padding, blamed Home Depot and said they weren’t coming. Ridiculous! The lady at CFI then called back and claimed they could use what was here, however, that wouldn’t be enough to stretch around the floating step. More communication errors.
We then called the store manager and explained our frustration. Barely got a sympathetic apology. Asked for a refund. He said he would call CFI and if they (Home Depot) gets their money back, then we’d get a refund. Not the answer or resolution we were looking for. We’ve wasted a ton of time on the phone and three days were wasted for installation that either was done horribly or not done at all because of their lack of communication. Was told by store manager we’d hear back by Monday. In the meantime, a complaint was made to Home Depot Cares Department. Never really got an apology. She asked what we wanted (which was a refund) and that seems to be her only task with all of this. CFI had later called the same day to say they could now come tomorrow August 1st as they now apparently have padding! Still seem to blame Home Depot.
Moral of the story...don’t use Home Depot for carpet. After dumping thousands of dollars on stuff there recently, we’ll stop supporting them. Family was looking for carpet and after our experiences they were afraid to use Home Depot and went to Lowe’s and were completely satisfied. The word is out there and this is the least we can do to spare any consumers from using them. Still haven’t received our money back and we’ll pursue other avenues to get it back. We’re not asking for handouts or anything free. But, just getting our money back isn’t satisfying either. We’ve been waiting to book that second job/quote until after they made it right on the stairs. At this point, we’ve been done wrong for too long.

The project was stalled and delayed for 3 months. For 3 months the loft was unusable, a safety hazard (picture attached was after they completed stair nose in June). Repeated follow up for 3 months to complete project and for a refund of money owed for material returned $1600/- and still no resolution and my credit card has been charged. Rude and indifferent store manager and customer service. Almost feels like they are discriminatory. My only comment is to make sure that you are very sure you will use the Depot to install your floors before you sign up and pay for measuring. Once a measurement is taken and you pay the $49 fee, they will not give out the floor measurements to you. They do not apprise you of that fact before you pay although they do tell you the amount will be taken off the flooring project if done with Home Depot. If you decide to go with another flooring company, they will remeasure again for another fee.

I have used Home Depot (HD) as my "go-to" place for home items, tools, garden, pool, etc for over 30 years. Our home needed new carpeting and it was long overdue. We held off until our last pet was no longer with us (although sad to see her go). We had a good idea what we were looking for. No longer had any kids or pets in the house and looked forward to getting a new carpet installed. My wife had met with a women (a designer) at our local HD and had scoped out a style, brand that she thought was best. I went with her as we made the final choice together on style and color. We were told that this was a very good quality carpet that had a good warranty (15 year) and would serve us well. We made the purchase (November of 2018). This was a relatively substantial purchase for about 3,000 sq-ft (325 sq-yards) of carpet. The scheduling and the install of the carpet went well with no issues.
After just 90 days, we noticed that the carpet was showing some distinctive wear patterns. This was totally unexpected. We had two adult friends staying with us at the time, but all were never in a position to track dirt or other materials into the house and often took off our shoes. My wife contacted HD, the female representative we had been working with for the purchase. She said this was unusual and thought it might be a manufacturing defect. She made contact with individuals in the HD organization to follow-up. She initially indicated that there was likely something that could be addressed.
An individual contacted my wife and made arrangements to come to the house and inspect the worn carpet (this is about 4-5 months after install). This individual looked at the carpet. He disclosed to my wife that the carpet was not of particularly high quality. The fiber material is known to have this kind of problem. He would submit his findings to HD and they would follow-up with us in regards to what could be done. We were contacted by HD and told that there was nothing that could be done related to the carpet (confirmed by store representative). That this was normal and there was nothing further. They would not replace, repair, or even clean the carpet. We inquired about the 15 year warranty and they indicated that this was not something that fit the warranty. Nothing further could or would be done. VERY DISAPPOINTED. They have lost a loyal customer.

So our listing agent set up photography 4 days after the carpet install date.
Well, LESS THAN 24 HOURS before the original carpet install date, the carpet crew called and cancelled for that Friday. Our pictures are scheduled for the following Tuesday. Then he went on to tell my husband what day would be good for them which happened to be the day after our photography is set to be done. We said, "Wait a minute here. We NEED this carpet in a full day before the pictures.. so Monday." He said, "OK we'll be there between 8-10AM."
It's now 12 Noon and after 3 phone calls to the carpet service dept--the carpet crew JUST ARRIVED. My Husband had to call in to his work to tell them he will not be able to come in as he works later this afternoon. Home Depot order# **. Parents placed an order in late September to install carpet in the 2nd floor of their home. The carpet was to be installed on 10/08/19, so the weekend prior to the install, we had a "furniture moving party." We were able to move all the furniture out into bathrooms, balconies, laundry room, garage and to the 1st floor. SO furniture everywhere except the 2nd floor! 3rd party installation company shows up and pretty much starts the install as scheduled. Midway through the install, the installers realized they did not have enough carpet to finish the install. They say the Home Depot rep made a mistake on the measurements. They send someone back out in a few days later to remeasure and resubmit the order to complete the install.
2 weeks later, installers show back up with the additional carpet and turns out they ordered the wrong carpet! So they put in the order once again and we wait another 2 weeks. Weeks later from original install date, they show up again and guess what??? Wrong measurements and wrong carpet! Numerous calls and emails with very little response if any. Finally I get a hold of Jan, who is the store manager. She looks into it and figures out all the mistakes that were made. Gives us a few options to "make it right," but at this point and bare floors for 4 weeks we decided to get our money back. No additional compensation was offered for the total fiasco. After taking our sample to another carpet supplier, they had the same exact carpet for .77 cent a sq ft, versus the $2.50 per ft that we paid! So much for the "free install!"

I purchased a floating laminate floor. The larger sample boards are fairly high on the display rack and poor lighting hits the sample boards so they give you a little sample piece that you can take home. I found the style and color I liked. So I went to the store to make my purchase. I told the salesperson where I was going to have the materials installed in. Living room, kitchen and bathroom. He informed me it would be a great product for those areas. I was out of town when the flooring was installed.
When I first saw it I thought there where gaps at all the joints. Come to find out it had a micro bevel which gave it a more realistic look and I actually liked the look better than I was thinking it would be because I couldn’t see the entire sample due to the glare from the lighting. But the employee said the sample colors will vary with different patterns the materials are made from, Which basically means they have 7 or 8 different patterns the planks look like. I had the materials inside my house and they where acclimated properly to the room's temperature. A little over a month went by after the install. I used a shifter moist towelette mop on it so it wouldn’t be wet and take a very long time to dry which they did within a few minutes.
The weather changed And it became very hot and extremely humid for a few weeks. About a week or so into the humid weather I started to notice the micro bevels start to peak on the edges. The bathroom was fine and that would normally be a place where humidity and possible standing water would be and the bathroom still looks brand new. The rest of the areas not so much. The area by the sink looks great and I don’t have a dishwasher or ice machine on my refrigerator but the other areas are where the peaking begins. I kept bringing up the fact that it was very humid out for a few weeks and I do have air conditioning. But my house has a crawl space underneath it. No basement.
So I contacted the store in Kalamazoo Michigan. And filed a complaint. I wasn’t a loudmouth. I was very pleasant because I know things just happen. But the store manager said since it’s been over a month that I bought the flooring they would have to submit a claim to the manufacturer. This is where they started to say they won’t cover the materials they sell basically. I emailed the store a few pictures. I took them at night And you could see some of the damaged areas. But the next morning I took some more and I sent them in another email. I called Lisa at the store and told her I sent some more pictures in but she had already forwarded them to the manufacturer so as I waited for a response I Had my installer come back and replace a few pieces in my entry way.
I had to purchase another box. When I originally bought the flooring I bought extra for scrap and an extra box for future repairs. When he did the original install he had to use everything up just to finish the job because there were so many damaged pieces he had to use tiny pieces to finish up the entryway. I didn’t complain to HD about buying the extra box. But in that box which I stored in my bathroom almost every piece was damaged. Corners where chipped or side were split. Fortunately there where enough good pieces to replace the bad pieces he had to use because the materials that originally came in had so many damaged pieces. I called the store twice while I was waiting for an answer from the manufacturer. I talked to Grant first and he said he would call me back later that afternoon. He never did.
The second time I called I talked to Chris. He said he would call me back later that afternoon. He didn’t either. I finally got an email from Lisa that stated the manufacturer wouldn’t warranty the product due to excessive amount of moisture being on the flooring. Once again these areas weren’t in any area that would get wet enough by merely cleaning them with a moist swifter pad. The areas that could be indirect contact ie bathroom and in front of the sink look great. So I just want to say thank you Home Depot for not caring for 1 individual when you have millions of other customers to rely on.

I had a terrible experience from start to finish using Home Depot to put in new carpets in our bedrooms. My measuring appointment was canceled at the last minute (I was told at the time that it was a “medical emergency”, but was later told on the phone by a Home Depot representative that scheduling the consult appointment online often results in cancellations/rescheduling). After waiting three weeks for the carpet to come and and my scheduled install date, the morning of my appointment, (during my appointment window) I got a call from the installer. Apparently when they inspected the carpet prior to loading their truck, they noticed a huge rust stain that contaminated the entire product, making it completely unusable. I had completely cleared two bedrooms for hours that morning and was extremely frustrated to be told last minute that our carpet installation was not going to happen.
After speaking with the Home Depot, I was offered little remorse and no remedy to correct this disaster. The carpet would have to be re-ordered without a guaranteed arrival date and I would have to schedule again with the installer. When I inquired about a discount for the trouble this caused, I was told they could offer me a discount but only AFTER the carpet was installed (and they weren’t able to confirm what said discount would be). Instead I cancelled my order and will never give Home Depot my business again. I encourage you to find a company that actually has quality control measures in place, does not constantly reschedule appointments and delay their customers timelines by weeks, and will actually work to correct any mistakes.

Purchased flooring and installation services from Home Depot, Flint, Michigan, 48532. Worse experience ever. It took 3 visits to complete job. Technician was lazy and was taking breaks every 20 minutes or so. After working about 4 hours he had to leave. It took additional appointments to complete job. AIS flooring heard my concerns about the worker, yet, continued to send same installer. He would work 3 or 4 hours. Take plenty of breaks then made up an excuse he had to come back again. On 3rd visit I learned Home Depot had sent the wrong corner-round. Matching corner-round was available but representative order wrong item. I ended up taking 3 personal days and was offered a 100.00 credit to my Home Depot account for compensation. Flooring chosen was suppose to be scratch resistant. It is not. While moving my appliances back into place new flooring scratched. Worse experience ever. Will never shop Home Depot again!!

When ordering a large item, be aware of delivery. I ordered flooring (18 cases) and there was no info about "in-house" delivery that would allow them to get it in the house or garage. Otherwise you get delivery at the bottom of your drive on a crate where anyone could steal it if not home. Lucky contractor was present. Suppose to call 30 minutes ahead, never happened. HOME DEPOT: REVIEW YOUR DELIVERY POLICY! I would hold you liable if there was any theft or damage from your delivery policy. I won't buy a large item again for fear of this!!

Bought what we thought was a high end carpet with a 25 year warranty. After a year and half it started to bubble up in the middle of the room so a restretch was done. The carpet guy which is contracted out by Home Depot noticed along with me that there was a big thick line that came out right in the middle of the room. At that point he told me that the carpet is defective. I have been trying to get a resolution with the store and home office and now have been totally ignored. So much for honoring a warranty and customer service. After reading all these reviews from this site and other sites I would not suggest buying any kind of flooring from Home Depot since they do not honor warranties. And then I noticed after checking my paperwork they charged me 29.00 for furniture moving that they never had to do and have seen a lot of reviews that this is an on going practice they use to to rip us off.

LifeProof Rigid Core Vinyl Flooring comes in only 4 patterns plus another 4 that are the same, but reversed. It would seem simple enough to put one of each in a box of 8. That is not the case. Some boxes had 6 or 7 of the same and I ended up with a very imbalanced load. I returned 2 boxes that were all the same and 2 more on the next load. They were just put back on the pile for the next person to deal with.
They don't allow you to go through boxes in the store (because opened boxes are not saleable, I'm told). Flooring staff was not helpful and even rather dismissive of my concerns about this. (Said there was nothing they could do about it and suggested that my option was to return all the flooring if I was not satisfied - Home Depot, University Heights, Victoria, BC, Canada).
The only option then would be to order lots extra and return the extras in opened boxes. I would have returned the lot, but I had already started flooring. The first batch I picked up was reasonably balanced. Except for this, it is good flooring. I would not recommend it for anyone wanting more variation, especially over large spaces, or don't want the inconvenience of sorting and returning flooring.

I picked the color, my husband took board back to order and they said it was discontinued. We cancelled the measuring. I shopped for 2 weeks at other stores and went back to HD because I liked the brand warranties. I told the salesperson my previous experience and when I finally found a similar color I went through with paying now $35 for measuring. The salesperson found it in the system so no chance it’s discontinued. Measuring guy came out and said they will call in a few days with quote for our 20x20’ family room. They called with a phone number to call for quote. I called and they said no such sku so it’s discontinued.
I called the store back and twice when being transferred someone would pick the phone up and immediately hang up. Third try the person said they’d walk back and find someone. The salesperson would look into it and call right back. 4 hours later I was told yep, discontinued! I suggested the first time that they go through their boards and take out discontinued boards. I again made same suggestion so the next person doesn’t go through this. I asked if they would at least credit me back the $35 for measurements that I’ll never know what it was. They did. Additionally, I wasn't told until 4 days before installation that both floors would NOT be installed on the same day. The lame excuse was so that the install crews would not be bumping into each other or get in each other's way. OMG. The carpet was installed by two guys and the vinyl by 1 guy!!! I was there as well. Pulled up carpet 2nd time out to home. Said defective padding. Came out 3rd time to replace 3ft of padding and then informed me floors not level (he lifted carpet and padding 2nd visit, why not tell me then!!), was then taking pictures making it look way worse than was. This year we again put in the carpet order in early June with the same specifications but now we are being charged more money! The first install date was to be July 8th. We received a call the day before and they left a message saying there was a chance of rain and they wouldn’t be coming. The next install would be July 24th, today!! We needed new carpeting and vinyl flooring before putting our house on the market. The people at Home Depot promised us 5 day delivery and installation. However, working with the subcontractors was a nightmare. Home Depot refunded the charges for 5 day installation because that never happened. We got the carpet done fairly quickly and were happy with their work. We ordered the vinyl flooring on 4/19, we were told we'd get it by mid-May. It wasn't delivered to our house until the end of May. They requested an asbestos test - which we did and gave them the results. By this time, we had to postpone the date for selling the house. The subcontractors called and stated they would come on June 7th, rip out the old flooring and install the new.
That morning, they showed up and stated they wouldn't do it because of the asbestos results (which they had before making the appointment). We asked them to just cover over the old flooring. They also refused to do that. All of the reasons the workers gave for not doing the floor was available to them at the time they came out to measure the floors initially. Long story short, we ended up getting another contractor to finish the job. Home Depot refunded most of the labor cost (the fact they never questioned us about what happened made us think this wasn't out of the ordinary). However, they kept $75 because the workers actually came to our house in person and told us they wouldn't do the work. Meanwhile, our house is going on the market a month late and we've had hundreds of dollars of additional expenses that could have been avoided.

In June of 2017 my wife and I decided to replace the 10+ yr. old carpet (also from Home Depot) in a sunroom and family room. We are retired and it's just the two of us in the house with two cats. We decided on the PetProof Whirlwind I carpet line. The measuring and installation went fine. The installers took out the old carpet and cleaned up before installing the new carpet. There was very little extra carpet, so the measuring was right on. In July of 2018 (a yr. later) we noticed a spot in front of the couch in the family room that was starting to show wear. The carpet gets vacuumed two to three times a week. Upon closer looking it appeared the carpet fibers were opening up and "fuzzy". The carpet came with a warranty that covered texture retention and was supposed to cover its ability to retain its visible shape and not burst, bloom, open or lose twist.
We decided to put in a claim. We've discovered several things. Even though all the marketing says "The Home Depot warranties provide peace of mind with every carpet purchase." Home Depot says they don't provide any warranty, the manufacturer does, in this case that's Mohawk. We had to get the carpet cleaned using a very specific technology, before they would consider the claim. Send them lots of pictures before cleaning and after. After 5 months of back and forth, Home Depot is saying that the carpet is suffering be crushing and it's not covered in the warranty.
Basically the warranty only covers manufacturing defects. So we have an 18 months carpet that looks more worn than the 10+ year carpet that it replaced. I'd never recommend this carpet for any kind of traffic area, or steps. The step down from the kitchen is now showing the same issue. A complete review and details of trying to submit a claim can be found at this site **.

5 months ago we ordered the carpet. Scheduled an install through Home Depot. Installers showed up and had me come out to the truck to look at the carpet which had dirt all over the backing and the truck smelled of **. Installers said they were sub-contracted out from Home Depot's contractor company of MA called American Carpet. Installers then took up my existing carpet and then cut the new carpet to be installed into 4 pieces BEFORE consulting the diagram which showed it to be installed into 2 pieces. So they left me with an apology and exposed tacks for 3 months for my children and pets to navigate. I was told by HD that they no longer make the carpet (that also matched my attached rooms) and that they could send something close enough. Installers came back again and left me with another unfinished job and unfinished exposed edging in a doorway and glue on the floor.
Home Depot can not control the installers they use. You get what you pay for. Installers even asked one of my children to sign paperwork and left me with an unfinished job before I got to see it. It's been 5 months since I ordered, and I now have a mismatched piece of unfinished carpet installed as the result of Home Depot's installer unethical business practice.

I will start by saying we were able to get our house tiled by Home Depot and it was affordable. I'm grateful for that. Also there are some very good workers who are helpful and respectful at Home Depot. Unfortunately they have been few and far between for me. Here are a list of complaints and why I’m going to start using Lowe’s more often. We ordered 5000 plus pounds of tile and mortar etc to get our house done. I clarified many times the items would first be delivered outside and someone would bring them in the house. They tried to get out of bringing materials in the house last minute. I'm disabled so I was careful to clarify this point before PAYING $13,000! (ALSO PAID $350 DELIVERY FEE PER CONTRACT). They told me to ask my neighbors for help. Some boxes of tile are close to 60 pounds a piece. I'm pretty sure I'm not asking my middle aged neighbors to do this for me.
IT WAS DISGRACEFUL FOR THEM TO ASK ME TO HAVE MY NEIGHBORS HELP ME DO WHAT THEY AGREED TO DO!!! It was a nightmare of phone calls and rude managers dealing with this. One manager acted like a rude high school kid. He told me, "I can’t guarantee you won't have to help bring the boxes in." I said, "Sir, I'm disabled. I physically can’t bring the 60 pound boxes in." I told him, “I'm not asking for any favors only for you to fulfill your agreement to me.” He basically tried to tell me someone told me wrong. Well I'm sorry friend that is not on me. It’s on you. I was told by more than one person you would bring it in my house. Being disabled I was extremely careful to make sure materials are brought in my house. I calculated the total weight of all the tile, versabond and other stuff over 5000 pounds.
Finally I called customer service and same day they were nice as pie and had someone bring all the materials in the house as agreed. Thank God someone in customer service must have cracked their whip on this guy. Generally speaking many of the workers have been so rude. I just have a bad overall experience. Today a guy was just so rude I couldn't wait to get out of the store. I hate conflict so I just ignored it but I've had lots of bad experiences like this. Try calling Home Depot sometime...good luck getting someone on the line that will help you. When I have returned things customer service are not on same page. It really depends on who you get if a return is going to be easy or hard. I've tried to return plants under the 1 year guarantee...that is generally a nightmare.
Sometimes it’s no problem...other times they say, “Oh that plant is no longer at our store”. Well that is not my problem. You made the guarantee not me. Sometimes they put money back on credit card. Other times in store credit. Bottom line it luck of the draw. We tried to return bad tile at one location and said we had to go to original store. Ok...my thought it just make it easier for customers please. I have a long way to drive to get to another store to do that.If I was CEO I would go to Trader Joe's and watch how the workers there treat customers. Target also does pretty good. I would make it top priority to make sure workers are friendly and all on the same page with respect to returns etc. I dropped 13K on tile installation and was constantly buying plants from Home Depot. Is it too much to ask for people to be friendly.
From here on out I'm going to try to move my business to Lowe’s. I can't handle the incompetence and general rudeness at Home Depot. Of course it could be my particular Home Depot on North Gaffey, San Pedro, California. Maybe another Home Depot would be better. But here again this is why training all workers uniformly is crucial. I've dropped a lot of money and Home Depot and been blown away by how badly I've been treated. However there are also SOME extremely kind and good workers there. (I'm thinking of Tish in flooring department...just a doll.) But I've only met a very small few and not enough to want to keep shopping there. By the way...I take no pleasure in writing this. I wish no ill on Home Depot. I just generally can’t stand going there because of how I’m treated, the incompetence and lack of assistance.

Home Depot could not install the laminate flooring we purchased there, the reps at Home Depot said we could do a vinyl floor. We were told it would be an easy swap and return of the laminate. The installers were great. Vinyl floors are in. Unfortunately we are still trying to get our refund from the laminate. Home Depot will not return our calls or show us an itemized bill. We had paid for the laminate and we were told we be refunded. Still waiting almost a month now. So very frustrating.

All furniture moving. Tear out and disposal of old Carpet. We paid extra to have platform bed taken apart. Day 1 carpet installed in basement but not complete. Day 2 upstairs carpet installed except bedroom not complete. Day 3 complaint to Home Depot no action. Day 4 said they had to order more carpet.
New installer arrives. Completes the carpet from first 2 days, does not stretch. Says they do not stretch carpet anymore. New installer will not take bedroom furniture apart, says they do not have enough carpet. Anyway again. Complain to Home Depot, it is now Labor Day Weekend, sales Rep says she ordered it. Tells us how she feels so sorry. I get tired of waiting. I take bedroom furniture and move myself tear out old and dispose. 2 weeks go by no carpet yet, finally shows up, crew comes says our floor is wet and now leaves, with my carpet. Call Home Depot. Complain. Carpet gets delivered to my house next day, I hire a independent installer to finish. Now the real battle begins, carpet is not stretch, no furniture is back, bi-fold doors are broke from the first installers just bending the track.
Finally the company for the installer sends out a real carpet layer. A older Man who actually completed a apprenticeship program and work his way to being a master carpet installer. Keep in mind it is now November. The master carpet installer says carpet is defective. Great. Now what. Home Depot is contacted again. Waiting to hear more lies. I finally get someone involved from Atlanta, She gets things rolling, a product investigator from the carpet supplier arrive. Does test. We wait over a week.
Finally they say our carpet is defective, now to deal with Home Depot again. The same person at the stores tells us lies and we have no firm commitment from Home Depot. Today is December 27 2018. The house we live is still not put back together. Rooms sit empty waiting on what is going to happen. We are hoping to just have Home Depot walk away and give us our money back then we can start over. This was an 11000.00 dollar purchase. We sure get a lot of sorry from Home Depot.

Following a dishwasher overflow in June 2018 I needed to replace my Pergo flooring. After two failed measurements the installer Crew2 resolved with Home Depot that Pergo could be installed. Many weeks later the installers, after moving appliances and quarter round, indicated that Pergo could not be installed, only vinyl plank or vinyl sheeting was suitable. With Home Depot I then selected a vinyl sheeting and contracted for installation, almost a two month more wait. The vinyl sheeting which was delivered was not as ordered. The vinyl sheeting was reordered, installation contracted for and six more weeks wait for it.
It is now September and the installation date arrived, with a call from the installer that, once again, the vinyl sheeting is not as ordered. A hurried visit to Home Depot with two requests. First, the botched credit to my account for the returned Pergo and failed installation of three months ago; it took two more visits for this to happen correctly. Second, following no attempt to apologize or attempt to correct the situation, I indicated a free install or other option would be in order. No response from the store (Eden Prairie, MN). A complaint to Home Depot customer care and the president was routinely answered that I had already been compensated enough, with no options for a correct flooring install. I proceeded to order flooring from a large Home Depot competitor and arranged for installation, all of which was complete in two weeks. A disappointing, five month ordeal dealing with Home Depot flooring.

Consider other option before requesting Home Depot. I order and received my custom flooring July 2018. After paying for the installation and the appointment scheduled, the installer called and canceled. The second appointment were scheduled and a day wasted from work because the installer failed to show. The third appointment set and the installer arrived as stated and laid the flooring. The only thing good about the flooring were the color and how it blended with the wall. The hardwood flooring began to pop up as you walk on the flooring and parts of the floor were uneven. The transition pieces separated from the flooring within two days. A second installer came out to look at the floor and stated the floor were done incorrectly and the entire floor should be replaced. However, Home Depot and the supervisor of the installer only ordered 2 boxes of flooring to patch up the flooring.
So here we are today November 14, 2018 and this has been ongoing since July 2018. Home Depot is ordering more flooring because the installer (THANK GOD FOR HONEST PEOPLE) said the two box will not be enough to fix the floor the right way. I'm waiting to see what Home Depot will come up with next after all the lies and substandard work by the company which they contract their work. I would not recommend either of them to anyone and will never have Home Depot and their professional services at my home ever again. Thanks Home Depot for a piss poor job and months of frustration, if I could take away that one star rating I would.

If I could give less than one star, I would certainly do so. This company is Home Depot's flooring contractor choice, and they are as unprofessional as any company could possibly be. I scheduled the installation weeks ago, and got a confirmation via email yesterday. They were supposed to be here today to install (11/14), so I took the day off from work to be here. I got a message on my machine last night that said they had a huge problem with a job they did on the 13th, and so would not be able to come as promised, but would show up tomorrow (the 15th) and "get that taken care of."
No apology, no phone call to see whether that worked for me, no nothing. I don't know what world they live in, but in my world, people work, and when they don't, they lose pay. I am not willing to take another day off work to convenience THEM. Home Depot should be ashamed of their choice of contractors; the coordinator said they "bump" her customers frequently. I am demanding a complete refund from Home Depot, including the measuring fee. I bought the carpet in good faith, and the "service" is substandard, to say the least. Romanoff Renovations is a horrible company! Avoid at all costs.
Reviewed Nov. 14, 2018
I will say the only thing I am pleased about is the carpets I selected. The installation was done very poorly. We had two sets of stairs done and the stairs going up were cut instead of waterfalled over each stair. When I asked the installer why this was done is said it was because the stairs were different sizes. It is very obvious that each stair was covered and not continuously laid with one consistent piece of carpet. Also, there are multiple areas where the carpet is not tucked in properly and is already coming undone. I don't know if this is typical practice, but it would have been nice to have a little extra carpet left behind for repairs.
After the installers left there were nails and staples left behind everywhere. There was a scratch on our freshly painted walls going downstairs. The carpets were not vacuumed well, which really didn't bother me too much. I vacuumed them myself after. There was a stain on the carpet that I had to point out before they left. It was taken care of and cleaned. Although the 3 people that came were very pleasant, I don't feel professionalism was present. One of the gentleman asked if he could play music, which would have been fine if it wasn't music with vulgar language in it.
To be honest, my fiance was going to install them but Home Depot offered free installation so we accepted it. He is now saying he wish he had just done it himself as it would have been better. I followed up with this complaint through ACS Flooring and Home Depot and all they had to say was, "Sorry you were disappointed." What great customer service!

The employee that helped me didn't know for sure if my carpet selection qualified but said she thought so not including holidays and weekends. I am a month out now since they charged me and measured for the carpet.
They showed up at about day 10 with the wrong size carpet so it had to go back, the installer measured the room and reported to the store but the store insisted they had to send yet another person out to measure. Mind you it was a brand new house and there was nothing in the room, how in the world can you get an incorrect measurement with a laser measuring tool with nothing in the room! That was the first incorrect measurement that had already been sent back. They then said they needed to do some investigating and would call back, they never did.
I called the store manager in Naples, Alberto promised he would get right on it. So I never heard back from him either and when I called the desk person said the person he assigned it to went on vacation and would not be back for a week. I called corporate and Michael promised they would get this done and would take care of me, and he gave me a case number. The install day came and the workers went to the house installed the floor and I came home to a horrible disaster. There's gaps everywhere, no cut is even, the flooring was installed in the incorrect rooms, and they left the rooms they worked in a mess and never reinstalled the toilets which was in the contract. The general contractor that was there commented about the flooring job and the workers just shrugged and left. I seen the floors that night and called the installer the next day who stated they will send their foreman out who has 20 years experience. He measured the expansion gaps and said they were in spec. Well you can put a deck of playing cards between the floor and the walls and still have room.
I don't know how much this LifeProof flooring expands but I'm sure it's not 2 inches. The foreman stated he would need to rip up the entire job and redo it to fix the issue. He said he couldn't do that and to call Home Depot so I did and I sent the pictures that you see below. Home Depot admits this is installed incorrectly and it was a bad job but it's too expensive to on their end to redo. So the store manager sent this issue to the regional manager to look into. I ordered vinyl plank flooring for my rental property. It was to arrive in 8-11 days. When 3 weeks had passed with no indication that the flooring had arrived at the pick-up store I called the customer service line to inquire about it. After about 30 minutes of being put on hold several times, I was given an "escalation" or case number and told that they would be following up and would let me know what they had discovered. A week went by with no word from them, so I called back, giving them my "escalation" number.
Again I was put on hold for about 15 minutes, until they got back to me to tell me that they knew nothing but had tried to contact the carrier without success (I am quite sure that the entire time I was on hold, they were also on hold, with the carrier). Instead of wasting yet more time on hold, the next day I tried my luck with the websites online chat. Again, no luck, and they actually suggested that I call the carrier directly. I thought that was their responsibility! So, the online chat was absolutely no help whatsoever.
After leaving negative feedback re: online chat AND calling the carrier myself, AND calling Home Depot's customer service, I finally received an email from Home Depot. The upshot of the whole mess is that apparently the carrier "lost" my shipment and Home Depot refunded my payment (well, I still have to wait 7-14 days to actually have it credited to my bank account). So, to recap, Home Depot took my payment, lost my shipment, and left me (and my tenants) waiting for 4 weeks. And what did I get out of this? An apology, a $50 gift card, my money hopefully refunded at some point in the future, and a healthy mistrust of doing business with these people again.

Home depot completed flooring measurements of our entire home. When it came time to pick the product and pay for the quotation we were expected to pay-in-full up front. They convinced me to go with LVP to replace the marble/hardwood/and carpet in my home. Once it became installation day the installers noticed (within minutes of entering our home) that the flooring option we had been sold and already had delivered was not thick enough to reach the door casings and would leave significant ridiculous looking gaps throughout the home, A LOT of them - which would lack a professional finish. Keep in mind, this is after disconnecting all our plumbing, moving all of our furniture into a corner of our house and us making arrangements for an alternative place to stay for the week at an AirBnb, as well as burning our vacation and taking time off to deal with all of this. Our house for the family, kids, dogs essentially un-useable.
Their solution: "Oh we can add plywood underneath the product within your entire house for $6k" ($6K! For maybe 80 sheets at most) to make up the gap, or we would have to replace all our door casings (again for an obscene amount of money). This kind of tactic is just like a sleazy car repair guy taking your car apart and holding you hostage for “un-foreseen” items before he will put it back together. At this point, we were really given no choice and being held hostage. It is costing us money every day we cannot use our home. This all could have been prevented if the flooring measurements and quotation were done by professionals - we mistakenly assumed that Home Depot employed such knowledgeable individuals - that included the thickness of the flooring needed to have a professional workman like result.
This is NOT an unforeseeable event and even the installers stated, "They see this all the time" - these are the Romanoff subs that work for Home Depot! Of course, in construction things come up, you run into things you don’t expect, but this is not a “thing” such as that, this is a basic requirement to install the product they convinced us to buy, obvious to actual professional within minutes of entering the home. We aren’t looking for something for free here, we are looking for them to make good on a satisfaction guarantee and to deliver what they quoted in a reasonable timeframe in a reasonable workmanlike result, and most importantly to make that kind of decision up front before we were pinned against a wall.
All-in if we were to agree to this abuse we would be at something like $12/sf for LVP! I feel that this is in fact definitionally a form of extortion - demanding money under threat, but now it's not only a threat but rather harm being done to us every day that goes by; however, Home Depot is so large that they have no interest in reaching a solution that does not cost us more money or time. It's more pressure on us the more time they take. No one is personally responsible and they hide behind process and hierarchy. These are bad people, or perhaps people not taking responsibility for the terrible things they are doing to people and blaming it on corporate chain of command, rules, and hierarchy.
I just spoke with and Ops MGR who made it abundantly clear he couldn’t give 2 ** about the situation, no regard for my displaced family, no regard for the costs already inflicted on us, no regard for the time it’s taken already, no regard for the fact we burned a week we took off work - take it or leave it, pay or cancel. How and why do they employ people like this? Their upside-down pyramid of “customers first” is a joke; it’s ridiculous to look at them in their “customers first” orange aprons, and maddening the hours and hours I’ve been on the phone on hold listening to their “what’s better than saving money? Saving time” hold repeat - both of which are far from the truth and stunningly insulting. Use these people at your own risk; What a terrible decision; I dread the idea of figuring out and unwinding this nonsense.

Our experience with customer service has been horrendous, and our experience with the actual floor install has been even worse. We wanted to remove the current carpet in our home and install hard floors. Our first choice was laminate. We had someone from Home Depot come in to measure the spaces we would be installing in, a required first step, and then chose the product. When the contractors came to install the floors (THREE weeks later), they said they wouldn't be able to because our subfloors aren't level. That's fine, but back to the drawing board. We went back to Home Depot to choose another option and picked a vinyl product.
I received a call, but no voicemail, from HD and called back every day for 4 days before getting hold of someone. I was hung up on several times, then told that the lady who called had not left a note for her reason for calling so I would just have to wait for her to call back. Finally got in touch with her and turns out we chose a product that still wouldn't work for our floors. Why wasn't this brought to our attention a week ago when we were in the store? Unsure. We were then told that it was not an option at all to have hard floors and we would have to pick carpet. Why wasn't THIS brought to our attention several weeks ago? Why didn't the person who came to do the measurements do his job and check if the floors were level? So many questions left unanswered and unclaimed by HD.
We received a discount for the carpet and sheet vinyl we ultimately chose, but the contractors came back TWO WEEKS later and discovered our subfloor near our door was "inadequate" and would not install. It seems as though HD install crew are paid hourly and in order to do less work, they find any small reason NOT to install floors. Our subfloor has been checked by another legitimate company and is fine to install vinyl and carpet. We received no apology from HD and have wasted so much time waiting for them to make this better. They never do, they never did. DO NOT hire them!!!

I've done at least 10 carpet installs and I and done, done, done with them. Everything about the "7day" rapid install is a lie. I'm at 24 days now and still nothing. First it took over a week to get a measure. Store told me I could come pay later that day and then the "7 (business) day" clock would start. Well anyone with a brain knows that 7 business days means at least 9 days cause there will be a weekend in there. Measure guys comes and then says "You can order, may take 24 hours before it is in systems." WTF! Go to store and pay, they say 7 days but could be 24 hours more. More lies. They schedule 7 business days, which was 9 actual days. Day comes they call and say "We will call you in 3 days to let you know." Never hear from them that day. Now we are at 15 days minimum since I paid.
Their carpet layout minimizes carpet but you will end up with way too many seams in horrible spots. Longs term this is a waste as the seams wear out first, especially on closed loop carpet. From now on I will go to a local company and pay more just to avoid the ** job Home Depot does and the complete lying they do. I may contact our state attorney and file a false advertising complaint. JUST DON'T EVER USE THEM!

DO NOT GET HOME DEPOT CARPET INSTALLATION! I REPEAT!!! DO NOT GET HOME DEPOT CARPET INSTALLATION! My office is in a building with three other companies. We all split the bill to get a new carpet. The carpet was fine but the installation and the contractors that Home Depot used were the most unprofessional EVER! I can still see bare subflooring and on the other side of the room, the carpet goes halfway up the baseboards. It looks like they did not use sharp tools to cut the carpet. The carpet on the stairs was frayed and falling off before we even walked up the stairs. The paint job, as high as 6 feet up on the wall, was marred and now needs to be repainted. We expected to see marring on the baseboards but it was the WORST craftsmanship I have ever seen.

I have canceled my order. After considerable work on selection and timing, I requested a measure appt. and paid my $50, assuming that would be refunded on my order. That's not really a problem, but when I cancelled, I was told they keep my $50. Everything went well with the measurement contractor, with a couple of minor situations about moving things, which was supposed to be included. And additional $237 for labor was added, to my Free installation and removal of old carpet. When my bid report came it contained the following which is copied from the order:
“Lead Paint Test Required in the following rooms: BED 1 (1), BED 2 (2). Note: Homes built prior to 1978 may contain lead paint. Per Federal Law, renovations in any rooms in homes built prior to 1978 that may have 6 sf of paint or stain disturbed must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Before your flooring can be installed, we must have a certified renovator test the affected rooms for lead paint. If the test determines that lead paint is present, you will need to pay an additional amount. Please Note: 9" Tile found in the following rooms: BED 1 (1), BED 2 (2), BED 3 (2). Possible asbestos. Tile and adhesive must be tested and/or removed before installation can proceed. See plan for details. Installer may also require customer to sign a waiver stating that asbestos was properly removed before installation can proceed. Resolution: Please review with Customer.”
Since I'm capable of checking these things out before I set myself to spend several thousand dollars to remove tile that is secure and under carpet, I spoke with a representative at the store. I was told that is standard procedure for homes over 40 years old. I'm fairly certain there is no lead paint in my house and I fail to see how the paint would be disturbed while installing carpet. I also checked with various website including THIS OLD HOUSE and discovered the best way to deal with secure asbestos tile is to cover it up with carpet, tile or laminated wood. Hence my confusion, that a carpet installer would refuse to take out and re-install carpet, when doing so would not disturb the tile.
I'm not sure about the locals in my area who do asbestos removal and abatement, but they might be connected to Home Depot's carpet installer. Just a thought. Most quotes for my three bedrooms would make just the removal $8,000 to $12,000 and there would be additional disposal fees. I can't imagine that anyone would spend that amount of money and have all that asbestos floating about during clean up, in order to lay less than $3,000 worth of carpet and pad. I cancelled the order and will go with the advice of THIS OLD HOUSE. I'm sure I can find an installer who isn't afraid of my old floors. I'm very disappointed in Home Depot and the contractors that they have hired. I'm in a small rural community, but I'm sure I'll be fine without them.

Waited two weeks for the flooring. No phone call, no products. Call Home Depot back. They told me that it was just an estimated time that it will arrive. Now I'm out of money because the flooring I ordered is not there yet, my clients is on my **, and all they can do is tell me that I can only wait. Can't even get my money back cause these ** wanna eat 15% for stocking fee. I'm basically on the losing end. There were 3 of these signs on 3 different tile displays. After I purchased the tile I went to schedule the installation and they tell me it is nearly $3 psf. So now I have nearly $1000 of tile I can't afford to have installed.

Dealing with Home Depot, and particularly their installation SUBS, Crew 2, was a NIGHTMARE. They arrived in a rusted old van, loaded with an entire home's worth of carpet and padding, left with a full van of bags of remnants 12 hours later (I was told 7 hours). Removed none of the old carpet, had zero means to remove it. HD brought a Bagster by which I had to load and make arrangements to remove - 5 days later. They didn't clean the floors properly, tried to use old damaged strips, and they played music all day and made ME take the bed apart and move it, though it was just a regular bed.
HD tried to charge me $100 initially, saying it was a special bed, which it wasn't. I complained to HD that they did NOT live up to their contract with me, which clearly, they did not, and they do not care. HD is ALL ABOUT PROFIT, not living up to the contractual agreements and pleasing their customer. Also, there is only one person in all the shifts in the flooring department who knows ANYTHING about the products they sell. Pathetic. I am giving one star for quality and value of the installation service, not the carpet which is a 5.

Went to Home Depot for carpet, found a still we liked and called for a measure, so far so good. The HD employee told us the installation would be free, and I ask about furniture moving and they said that would also be included. Long story short we wanted new carpet for our bedrooms and when I called to get the quote the lady said there would be a upcharge for moving the beds, if you're installing carpet in a bedroom it’s a good chance there will be a bed in it. So they wanted 200 to move the beds and a 100 for the dresser. What makes things worst is we contacted a painter to repaint these rooms and ask him about moving furniture and he said it’s no charge just part of doing business.

This was the worst experience ever. My poor wife was on the phone with Home Depot installers for literally 10 hours and got nowhere. First they came out and measured our home with wall to wall carpeting in our living room and linoleum flooring in our kitchen. The first quote was like $7k dollars and the place is not even big. We told them forget it and hung up. My wife called back the next day and talked to a nice lady who gave us her name and extension and she said they calculated wrong and it will be $2400 so we said, "Ok that's more like it." But then they forgot the linoleum in the bathroom so she said she would call back. We got another call back from a different person and our small 8X6 size bathroom added $1,000 dollars... what??? They said they will have someone get back to us and they called back with $2700 dollars.
We noticed on the floor plan they emailed us they messed up on the bar area where we wanted linoleum. So they needed now to send someone back to measure because they measured wrong. Someone came out and to make a long story short when they now figured it out it went from $2700 to $5,000 dollars for a stupid bar area with linoleum under the stools which is like 5X7 which we told them and the first guy measure that area already. We called back and asked for that helpful lady we liked and no one had any idea who she was and said that extension did not exist.
My wife was really upset and angry and asked to speak to a manager who was not really helpful. He said, "Let me see what I can do." and called us back and took $1,000 off so now we were at $4k but the bathroom was again left off the estimate. This is crazy! We went to a local carpet guy and he did it all with no hassle for like $2700 dollars and it was done in a few days. Moral of the story: You may think you are saving by these big box stores but you are not and they play games with you. Worst experience ever!

If you’re elderly or have parent(s) who are elderly… you need to read this. These are the facts and they’re backed up by pics & docs. My mother (Marie) lives in Sacramento, CA. She is 80 and suffers with cognitive (memory) issues and early on set Dementia. As for me, my name is David, I live in Orange County, CA. On 2/22/18 my step-father passed away from complications of with the flu. The FIRST time I flew up was to deal with step-father body and get my mom’s financial, health and tax affairs in order. The SECOND time I flew up was to deal with getting docs notarized; banks, future bill, utility and death certificate issues that needed to be resolved.
While there on this second trip my mom said, “I really need new carpeting.” So we went to the HOME DEPOT #H0650 in Carmichael, CA. (Sacramento Area). I told her I’d order the carpet she had chosen and I’d have it installed. When I returned home I spoke with HOME DEPOT #H0650 and ordered the carpet online. On 4/12/18 the individual HOME DEPOT hired to measure my mom’s home did his job. The cost to have the rooms measured was ($50.00). The next day I called HOME DEPOT and placed the order. At that time I was informed that the installation would cost me an additional ($700.00) because 7 of the pieces of furniture were wooden, heavy and would require a “special” crew. No problem. I placed the order and paid in full the grand total with my credit card in full. ORDER ID: **. The total for my mom’s small two bedroom/living room/dining room mobile home ($4,193.44 includes the $700.00).
At that time I informed HOME DEPOT and told the gal to make a note regarding my mom’s recent loss and “memory” condition. I told HOME DEPOT I needed to be there to help get things in order. HOME DEPOT instructed me to call back on Thursday, 4/26/18 after 9am to make sure the carpet and padding was received by the INSTALLER. At that time, I’d receive an INSTALL DATE, but not an “install window of TIME,” I was told that would be emailed to me 24 hours prior to the install date, but no later than 3pm on Monday, 4/30/18. At that time though I was told by HOME DEPOT that the install date was set in stone for 5/1/18 and that if I had to make travel plans… everything is locked. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS CRAZY! BOTH HOME DEPOT (#H0650) AND ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS (CA LIC #991987) dropped the ball and acted extremely unprofessional.
MONDAY. Early Monday morning on 4/30/18 I flew up to Sacramento for the third time. My plan was to get there, do what I had to do to get my mom’s new carpet in, put everything back together and then fly home WEDNESDAY afternoon on 5/2/18. My total travel costs were: Air: ($142.96), Airbnb: ($272.53), Rental Car: ($166.69), Uber: To ($19.85) and From ($25.50) Airport, Rental Gas: ($19.00), Food/Expenditures: ($150.00). Monday morning, 4/30/18, I arrived at my mom’s home at 10:30am. I was there prepping the house from 10:30am till late that evening - boxing things up for her scheduled carpet install the next day, Tuesday 5/1/18. Thank God, I took both before and after pictures. (see photos).
On Monday, starting at 3:00pm, I called HOME DEPOT requesting give me an estimated arrival time. HOME DEPOT had no answer for me and said I needed to contact ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS directly. During that day and into the evening I left numerous voice messages and I sent them numerous emails. I never received any response from either party. Everything went unanswered. WHAT’S REALLY IMPORTANT HERE IS THE ”TIME”.
TUESDAY. The next morning, Tuesday, 5/1/18, I got up early 7:00am because I still hadn’t heard from the ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS as promised by them and HOME DEPOT. At my AIRBNB, while getting out of the shower, I received an email at 8:13am from ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS that they would arrive at my mom’s sometime between 12:00pm and 3:00pm that day. (SEE PHOTO)
I returned to my mom’s home on TUESDAY 5/1/18 at 9:30am. Since I completed prepping everything the day before, my goal that morning was to get my mom out of bed, showered, take her two dogs to PETCO on Greenback where I had made an appointment to board them for the day. PETCO: ($136.00). I also needed to (1) move a PRINTER which weighs nothing and is on a cart with wheels. (2) I needed to clean off my mom’s nightstand/dresser where she has her medication. (3) I needed to strip her bed which she literally had just woken up in. (SEE PHOTOS)
IT’S 10:15AM. My mom is out of the shower, dressed. NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT. ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS ARRIVES AT THE HOUSE 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES EARLY or 10:15AM. They are a crew of 2. A young man (mid 20s) and a man (65) who the young man identifies as his father. My mom says hello as the two men entered the house and she’s drying her hair with a towel. ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS EMPLOYEES (the young man spoke; I don’t think the older man spoke English). He asked me if it’d be okay if they started early because they completed their previous job early. I told them I didn’t mind but I had to leave for 20 minutes to drop off my mom’s two dogs. And when I returned I’d move the printer, remove the bedding and clean off the nightstand. He said, “NO PROBLEM.” They walked around the house to check things out; then they both went outside.
I load the dogs into my rental car. I then go inside and make sure my mom is okay and tell her I’ll be back in a few minutes. When I go outside THIS IS IMPORTANT, the kid walks up to me with his phone and proceeds to tell me, “ROMANOFF always does this us. I’m on the phone with the main office. I’m trying to get a crew out here to move all the furniture. My dad has a really bad back and he can’t move anything heavy.” I immediately told him to tell them I paid an additional ($700.00) for that service. It’s now 10:30am. They're not suppose to even be there for an hour and a half. The kid assures me he’ll get it figured out. I told him I was going to drop the dogs off and I’d be right back; I drove off.
WHEN I RETURNED THE ROMANOFF INSTALLERS ARE GONE. I went in the house and my mom told me she looked out the window and ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS just drove off and they never came in and spoke to her or told her why. I immediately call ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS and there is no answer. I immediately email them - no response. It’s just a few minutes after 11:00am. Super frustrated. Super angry. I try not to make my mom anxious and tell her there’s no problem, I just need to drive to HOME DEPOT and talk to someone.
On my way to HOME DEPOT I received a phone call from KELLY **, the INSTALL EXPEDITOR at HOME DEPOT in Carmichael, CA. She proceeds to tell me that ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS INSTALLERS told her that they had arrived on time (they were an unannounced 1 hour and 45 minutes early) and that the home wasn’t adequately prepped. I kept my cool and said I’m pulling into her parking lot and I need to speak with her and her store manager immediately regarding this situation.
When I got inside I was escorted back to the office of KELLY ** where we are joined by the HOME DEPOT’S assistant manager NANCY **. I knew I was 110% in the right on every level. With that I asked them to start. KELLY, on her computer, showed my 3 photos (the printer, the unmade bed & the night stand). NANCY then, knowing nothing, proceeds to tell me that I didn’t prep the house. I was so upset… I then proceeded to explain everything I wrote above. I then showed her all the before and after pictures. I then showed her the ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS email stating they’d be there between 12-3PM which they did not know. Both KELLY and NANCY admitted the 2 installers were totally in the wrong.
Tuesday 5/1/18 morning — 11:30AM. I told them, looking at my watch, “It’s 11:30am… ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS isn’t even suppose to be at the house for 30 minutes.” KELLY immediately got on the phone with ROMANOFF and got the run around, run around, run around. I explained that I needed to get back to my mom and her condition. I told her to get this done… or this may become a legal matter. I got both KELLY and NANCY’S #s and emails. KELLY said she would be in touch with me shortly. The entire Tuesday, 5/1/18, I tried to contact ROMANOFF to no avail other than computer generated BS customer services kickbacks (SEE PHOTO). KELLY’S excuse throughout the day was that ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS was too busy and they didn’t have any extra hands.
Eventually, no phone call, ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS contacts me via an email at 5:40PM stating they couldn’t install my mom’s until Saturday, May 5th. I hit the ceiling. I work in the film industry (check IMDB/Google). At that point I felt it was important to contact my attorney and forward him all texts, emails and other forms of communications.
REMEMBER - It’s TUESDAY. I have removed everything from all the rooms and my mom is 80, she has memory issues and television is everything to her. To prep I had to remove all electronics including her DIRECTV. I tried to reconnect her TV but to no avail. I contacted DIRECTV and told them I had an emergency. I explained to them my mom’s condition, my situation and exactly what HOME DEPOT and ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS had done to the both of us. DIRECTV promised me they’d have someone at my mom’s house at 12 noon on Wednesday. I received a call at the airport. DIRECTV was there on time. (SEE PHOTO.)
That night around 8:00pm I received a call from mom… she was crying. She was so upset! Everything in her house was still moved out. She has no TV. Everything is a shambles and nothing is going to change for 3 days or 72+ hours. She doesn’t want the carpet. She wants me to get my money back. I feel sick to my stomach. I call my attorney. I draft an email and send it to KELLY.
WEDNESDAY 5/2/18 MORNING. That morning I go over to my mom’s house. I try to get her situated the best I can. I speak to her neighbors and explain to them exactly what HOME DEPOT AND ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS had done. After my stepdad had past… and because my mom is elderly… I was contact by SACRAMENTO COUNTY ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES. I had spoken to them before regarding Meals On Wheels and other matters. Then because of this situation I felt it was super important to contact them regarding this situation and how HOME DEPOT and ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS treated my mother; they agreed. They felt if I needed to have someone drop by to call them back. They took all the information and said they would be available for my mom. I also told them I would forward them this review upon completion.
After everything was semi-set I headed to the airport. There I get a call from KIP **, Home Depot District Manager. He starts apologizing. Telling me how sorry he is. That somehow HOME DEPOT contracts out to ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS making them sound like they’re local. This is NOT TRUE. They work with HOME DEPOT across the country! ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS is headquartered in ATLANTA, GA., same as HOME DEPOT. KIP agrees after looking over everything there is no reason the job wasn’t performed and that he was sorry. Yada. Yada.
He then tells me DEAN **, SACRAMENTO INSTALLATION MANAGER for ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS would be stopping by my mom’s house later in the day to just make sure they got an adequate number of MOVERS out for the job. We hang up. I’m not happy, but DEAN is gonna go by today and we’re scheduled for SATURDAY. I call my mom and tell her Dean is coming by.
THURSDAY 5/3/18. In the morning from Orange County, I call my mom and ask her how things went with DEAN **. She tells me he never came by, but that he called, quickly and insincerely apologized; and told her they’d get her carpet in and she’d be happy. I LOST IT. I called Kip to read him the riot act. KIP informed me that ROMANOFF would now be installing the carpet on Friday and not on Saturday. I set everything up with her neighbors; put them on alert for Saturday. OH MY GOD!!! I informed KIP that DEAN lied to him and didn’t drive by my mom’s as he had promised KIP and my mom he would. I demanded that DEAN call me. He did. I read him the riot act I told him everything. I demanded he drop by my mom’s house and do as he promised. I demanded an exact time for the install. I demanded to updated regarding their arrival because I needed to get someone to get my mom up, dressed and ready!!!
I asked DEAN why the sudden change on from Saturday to Friday… He responded they couldn’t get anyone to work on Saturday even though they scheduled it. Cinco De Mayo. DEAN also told me (which would become another lie) that he was looking to hire an electronics company to come in and re-set up and connect my mom’s electronics. This didn’t happen!!! KIP ** dropped by my mom’s house and he reconnected all her electronics. My final demand was that both of the original installers be fired!!! This entire situation started with a lie. This young ROMANOFF EMPLOYEE couldn’t do the job! He didn’t want his dad to hurt his back! So he tried to put all the blame on me and my mom… and keep in mind they showed up an hour and 45 minutes early. THIS ALL STARTED BECAUSE OF ONE LIE. BE SURE TO CHECK ALL THE PICS.
FRIDAY 5/4/18. The furniture was moved and the carpet was installed Friday morning at 8:30am. As mentioned KIP reinstalled and connected my mom’s electronics. Then returned the furniture. Is it over… NOPE!!! They put back the furniture and electronics. But the reason why I was there other than to prep for the carpet — I was there to unbox and put everything back. Everything at my mom’s is still in boxes TODAY! She’s very confused and upset. Nothing is where it’s suppose to be. I’ve been telling her to relax and I’ll take care of it and I am. Because of the extreme unprofessionalism of both HOME DEPOT and ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS I have been forced to hire a professional organizer to come into my mom’s home next Monday 5/7/18, Wednesday 5/9/18, Saturday 5/12/18 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at another cost to me for ($65.00 an hour) to help my mom unpack and reorganize her things.
TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY — I received an email this morning (SEE PHOTO) from DEAN ** stating “I just wanted to check-in to ensure that you would rate your installation experience as a “5 -STAR.” Are you serious!!! I would never recommend ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS or this HOME DEPOT to anyone, EVER! BUYER BEWARE!!! This can’t be allowed to happen again!!!

When I ordered my carpet, it took months and when it finally arrived it was the wrong color. I had moved from out of state and was waiting to move my furniture from the garage until after the installation. So I reluctantly accepted the wrong color and had it installed in the bedrooms. However, I wanted the correct color in my living and insisted they correct that portion of the order. Weeks later I finally received that.
The laminate I was going to have installed was on a special with free installation. The salesperson PUSHED and insisted that I would be much happier with a higher grade of laminate. He then changed my order, but did not mention that the free installation would NOT be included. When it came to finally install the lamination, I was told that my floor was not "level" and I would have to have a new sub-floor installed. (My home is only a few years old and is a well built house, not a modular.) So hundreds of dollars later, a new sub floor was placed over the regular floor.
When the installer finally appeared, he was rude and did not like the fact that I had a couple of Yorkies. He started the job and then did not come back for several days. The company he worked for (Not Home Depot) called to say he would be back the next day and I requested a DIFFERENT person. They agreed but the next day the same person arrived. I tried to explain that I had requested someone else. He said he was the only person available. Reluctantly, as I had waited so long, I allowed him in. He did a horrible job. I now have gaps in my floor, peaks and valleys and it looks awful! I have never seen such a terrible installation. My son went to a different company. He had cheaper laminate installed in his modular home. They said the "new subfloor" is a common "CON-job" the Home Depot pulls. My son's floor was installed in a short time and looks great!

Picked a beautiful vinyl floor product that had a wood look. The sample at Home Depot looked great! Installers called to cancel 10 minutes AFTER they were due to arrive on the scheduled day. Mind you, we had paid a plumber to come remove the toilet for this. Many phone calls later (store, installation company, store manager, regional manager, etc.) they finally agreed to reimburse us for the cost of the plumber to remove and then re-install the toilet and rescheduled the install for 3 weeks later. 3 WEEKS LATER.
On this second scheduled day I again had the plumber come remove the toilet and hoped for the best. Installers actually showed up this time. BUT the product was not what the sample looked like in the store. This wood look floor had white scratch marks all over it... It looked like it had been attacked by a rototiller... I again made the phone calls but seriously I gave up after talking to several idiots at the store and regional level. They just played dumb, even though I sent them photos of the sample versus the floor in my bathroom. NEVER FREAKING AGAIN... Peace out Home Depot - YOU SUCK beyond belief and I hope enough people realize this and your corporation goes out of business.

(Mind you the items have already been purchased.) People at the store was looking at us, and thus was very embarrassing! I told them that I purchased my items and had my receipt in my hand. They wanted me to give them my receipt to do a return and I told them no because I wasn't willing to do a return. (Not my fault they put the wrong price on there.)
They took my items... I called corporate several times only to have them tell me someone will be calling me back. After 2 weeks no one called me, so I called again and was told the district manager in at the location I purchased will make a decision. He told me he will not be returning my items and could give me a return. NOT RIGHT NOR FAIR.

I was told it would take 3 weeks to finish and it is 5 weeks and I have no furniture and concrete loose grout floors and installers just left and told me the floor needs grinding and they didn't want to do it. I waited 2 1/2 weeks and 1 cancellation on their part and still nothing. Flooring was a week late, Home Depot didn't deliver but they hired trucking company who damaged my sidewalk, HD told me they would put plastic up to block my open kitchen and they didn't. I have dust in my appliances, loose tile and grout on my floor and no installation date and company coming next week.

We contracted Home Depot to install laminate flooring in our kitchen and dining room. The contracted company that came out to measure did a good job with the actual room sizes, but they did nothing to determine if the floor was within "specs" for the installers. Our home is located on the bay and subsequently on piers as most houses in our area are. So sometimes you will have floors that are not level like a concrete slab. He made no note of that. The product was ordered and the first delivery did not bring out all the materials for the job. The second delivery to complete the order was the wrong product. It took 3 deliveries to get everything together that had to be acclimated to our home before it could be installed.
The delivery man could not bring the laminate upstairs into the house as they are not allowed. So I had to carry 15 boxes of laminate flooring up 12 feet to our house as my husband has a recent back injury. This could have been a question asked at the store at the time of the request for measurement. When the measurement was done and the materials were delivered, a month later, the installers arrived only to announce that my kitchen floor was out of "specs" and they stopped the job and would not install the laminate. They also advised we would be charged an additional $100 since they had to make a trip and not do the installation.
What? You already charged me $481 for the installation and now I have to pay an additional $100 just because you could not install? They advised they would refund the installation - the $100 charge. UNACCEPTABLE. This should have been determined at the time of measurement. The metal piece that the installers used to lay on the floor and determine it was out of spec should be carried by the person doing the measuring. He could have told us a month ago it was a no go or at least make us aware of the issue. This was a terrible experience all around. I would not use Home Depot's installers in the Baytown, Texas area again.

I purchased a hardwood floor from Home Depot in 2016. It was Bruce Flooring. I had the same flooring in my kitchen, for over 12 years and it was incredible. Decided to continue with the same floor throughout the house because of my experience with that particular floor in my kitchen. The installation was okay but after less than 2 weeks I notice deep scratches in the clear coating that appear to be very soft that I could take my fingernail and scratch it very easily and very deep in the soft clear coating. One Home Depot manager was at my house within that two-week. And I filed a complaint.
Because of the extreme turnover with employees, it took over a year and a half before they addressed it, they had many samples and either they said they don't have them or Bruce Flooring would not return them. They do not stand behind their product. I would never pay over $8,000 for a floor that was not durable enough for my home. The reason I chose this particular one because I had the same exact flooring and color. The company just kept pushing it aside. I wants to offer me a $200 gift card. It would take over $4,000 to resurface this floor and it's over a thousand square feet.

Purchased a laminate floor from Home Depot in Calumet City. Normally I would install myself, did my whole first floor with laminate, but knee problem won't allow it. Simple bedroom no complex cuts involved. Installers came in and told me floor is uneven and is moving by my window, yes moving. One installer jumped up and down and said the creaking was because the floor moves. Said they couldn't install floor and left. Home Depot was going to call with a solution, never happened. Returned floor to HD. Called a flooring store and he came out and they will be installing my floor Monday. Nothing wrong with my subfloor. Plus I got my money back, all except 40 dollars, that the installers kept because they made a trip to my house. STAY AWAY FROM G S FLOORING AND HOME DEPOT UNLESS YOU INSTALL YOURSELF. I got to catch my "MOVING" floor again.

I don’t even know where to begin. It’s been months trying to get this job complete. The plan was to have install done in 2 days due to the amount of furniture we had to move and work around. It’s been 6 months since beginning our project. Company did not send enough people to finish job within 2 days, did not cut flooring correctly, does not line up with walls, did not install quarter round in half the kitchen, used CHAIR RAIL which was for baby room on floor in kitchen, have been stood up 4 times at this point. Still waiting to hear back from Home Depot and ACS on how we are going to get this resolved. I would NEVER recommend anyone to work with them.

I have a kitchen that I want hardwood flooring installed. I scheduled an appointment on 2/6/18 to meet with an in-store flooring specialist. Jeremy was extremely helpful and got an in-home estimate setup and scheduled for 2/21/18. He eluded to a potential sales pitch call a couple days after the measurement was taken. I thought nothing of it. The contractor/specialist arrived on 2/21 at 10 AM and took the measurements and was gone in less than 15 minutes. He had me to verify my email address before leaving. He stated the quote should be ready in 48 business hours and then it would be emailed to me. On 2/28 (a little more than 48 business hours) I received an email that my quote was ready and they would call ** number to discuss. The phone number was my work number which wasn't practical to discuss such an item. I originally provided it online when I setup the in-store appointment to discuss and schedule the measurement.
I called the 877-494-0448 number they provided. I spoke to a rather curt and dominating lady that was obviously all too familiar with the game of pressure sales. I told her I provided and verified my email address and would like to have the quote email to me to review. If I had any questions, I would call them -or- take to the store and discuss, as Jeremy kindly offered to do, if it was more convenient for me. The sales person didn't take too kindly to my request and stated they needed to go over the quote on the phone before they would release the quote. After a couple minutes of "debate", I stated I would not discuss the quote until I had it in front of me. Else, I would abandon the quote and go elsewhere to have my project completed. I was quickly advised that I paid $36.00 for the quote and that could not be refunded. $36 is money, but when it comes to meeting deadlines and getting a project completed, I'll take the hit and move on.
I called the Home Depot store, where I originally began. Jeremy wasn't available; however, a counterpart associate in flooring advised me, the only way to get the quote is to go through the contractor group and play by their rules - a sales pitch. So, there's where I'm at, almost a month out. Home Depot has greatly disappointed me in this card-trick of a sale. I like businesses that are "upfront" with you and don't play games to win a few extra bucks. That's the quickest way to lose my trust. I may have lost $36 and a trip to my local Home Depot store, but they lost a contract, the flooring sale, as well as another major upcoming project I have laid out. I just don't understand the mentality of businesses like this.

I had a quote done to carpet my upstairs at the end of 2015. We were not ready to complete at that time so I asked how long the quote would be good for. I was told that the measurements would not expire, and only the cost of carpet could change. I went back to the store last week to finalize the purchase. Both associates said they would honor the old quote.
When they looked and saw it was 2015 they said we have better deals now with the "free install" so you will want to get it remeasured, and it should be cheaper than before. They came out remeasured and gave me my new quote...it was $1400 more! I understand the carpet and the pad price had gone up, but that would only be about a $400 difference. They add in additional hidden charges and overestimated the sq. Ft needed (300 more sq ft than last time and my house did not grow!) to offset their supposed "free installation". I will not do anymore business with the Home Depot due to their dishonest practices.

Be sure to choose your carpet very carefully!! Or go with a different company altogether- we have learned the hard way. Our carpet has been replaced 2 x in 3 years and needs replaced again already. The installers are saying they cannot do anything to correct it. Home Depot is now saying we have to have this carpet cleaned professionally before they will even have anyone review it. The carpet has already been replaced twice before. It’s not even 2 years old. This is beyond frustrating. Beware!!!

2 years ago I bought my first home and tore out the old flooring. In shopping around I settled on Home Depot's Home Decorators Collection wood laminate flooring with the free installation since I needed over 1,000 square feet of flooring. I should have known then this was too good to be true. The flooring would have been beautiful if it wasn't glorified cardboard. First the installation company didn't install the hallway properly so the panels floated apart. They had to come back twice to fix it the right way and it still isn't 100% correct. In having them come back multiple times I noted the bubbling I was seeing in various places around the house. The guy said it is water damage and I would have to pay to have it torn out and replaced.
I called the manufacturer on the box to file a complaint about the warping and lo and behold I get Home Depot's customer service department and they send me back to the store and the installation guy is back at my house again. This time I have bubbling in every room of my house and his claim is still water damage. I have no leaks in my ceiling so I would like to know where this water is coming from in every room of my 1,200 sq foot house? I use a Swiffer Wet Jet as was suggested to me. My floors have never seen a mop or a steam cleaner. The store now says I have to pay to tear it up and replace it.
They manufacture cardboard, say it is heavy duty and can be installed in any room at any humidity level yet they won't stand by and repair or replace it. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy laminate flooring from Home Depot. They don't stand by their own product. Too I wrote a review on their website a couple weeks ago, today I check and my flooring is now discontinued. What a joke.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I only leave one since I can't leave zero or less. This is an ongoing situation, but after having the folks at the Depot do measurements and figure out a quote, it took weeks to finally get a hold of US Installation Group (USIG) after receiving materials just to schedule the job. Then, after being assured of having a 2-man crew to remove existing tile, paying for subfloor and moving of appliances, the ONE "tech" they sent: a Mr JOSE ** (totally unprofessional; also said it was his last day with USIG and was going to work with Bath Fitters after), made an incorrect judgement call saying he couldn't do the job since he didn't know what the subfloor was, tile was under the cabinets, and the appliances were in the way. He simply left without a further word. Mind you, I paid for the possibility of subfloor replacement as I know what was existing (I installed the tile over new plywood and no, not under the cabinets).
Now I'm left with unhappy tenants, blew a whole day, and have flooring sitting around that is yet to be installed. On top of that, it seems like they now want to charge me extra for the inconvenience of USIG screwing this job up completely. USIG has no idea how to run a business and does not care about the job they are hired and paid to do. DO NOT USE HOME DEPT FOR ANY INSTALLATIONS WHERE USIG IS THE CONTRACTOR. While my issue and following ratings are for USIG, the folks at Home Depot have actually been helpful and I am working closely with them to resolve this issue. However, it is unfortunate to pay this amount of money for a job that is now on hold due mainly to a useless and unprofessional USIG technician. If Home Depot provides a suitable discount for the above inconvenience, or otherwise takes care of this situation, I will update my review accordingly.

Purchased flooring from Home Depot on September 30 and contracted to have it installed in my home. A new propane stove was being installed after the floor install. It took weeks to get the floor delivered and more weeks to have an install appointment by US Installation Group, the installers that Home Depot uses. The floor to be installed was approximately 400 square feet, a sizeable room. The two installers showed up at 3 pm on November 16, obviously not wanting to do the job, which would have taken hours and would have gone late into the evening. After some muttering between them, the installers pulled out a few floorboards and proceeded to tell me that there was something wrong with our flooring, that the flooring didn't match properly. They said other customers had had problems with the floor we chose.
We called Home Depot but couldn't find anyone to answer our questions about the flooring. Unsure of what to do in this situation, we told them to leave at around 4. They looked relieved. When I called the installation company and explained that I needed to talk to Home Depot before the install, they said they would have to reschedule, which would take more weeks. The next morning we finally spoke to the Home Depot flooring department, who explained why the floor looked the way it did. We realized that we had probably been set up by the installation guys so that they could go home early. Home Depot promised to talk to the installer, and have the floor installed promptly. The installation manager at US Installation was supposed to call, but never responded to me.
I ended up having the propane stove installed as contracted on the old floor on November 21 as it is now sold out, with the new floor sitting in a pile in the room. I contracted another installer, and I am still waiting for my floor to be installed. The stove will have to be removed and reinstalled at a cost of several hundred dollars, probably in January. Sadly, this is not even the only botched installation experience I have had with Home Depot. Moral of the story: buy nails and paint from Home Depot if you want, but go to a flooring or appliance or kitchen or bath store to have something done competently. The only good news was that we got a prompt refund of installation cost, something they probably do a lot.

On August 18, 2017 we purchased carpeting with free installation from Home Depot for our condominium at Donner Lake, from very personable and helpful salespeople in the flooring department at the West Reno store. Their local measurement specialist was also very competent and helpful. When you buy with free installation, you pay upfront for everything. (We will never do this again and believe we have no recourse or leverage with Home Depot or their floor installing contractor.) Customer service at the Reno store has been disappointing, and the general contractor Romanoff and the local subcontractors has been unreliable and unacceptable.
We bought the carpet with a special of free installation if we paid in full by a certain date. We requested delayed installation as other home projects would not be completed until October and that we would schedule a firm date with the schedulers at that time. We scheduled installation in October with Romanoff for November 14. We were orchestrating completion of home projects, disposal of old furniture, clearing floor space for carpet installation before Thanksgiving dinner and invited guests arrived.
My husband called the Install scheduler a few days before November 14 to confirm installation. We had already deconstructed our condo disassembling beds, unloading closets into spaces that won't be touched by carpet installers, unplugging and storing all electronics, glass tables, etc. (Two of the three bathrooms are packed with stuff to clear floor space for carpet layers and are unusable). Yes, we were on their schedule for November 14. A few hours later, we receive a call from the local subcontractor who tells us they lay the carpet on November 14. What?! Why not? The reply was, they just don't have the local manpower, and the soonest they can get this done is after Thanksgiving. This isn't a good excuse when we made these arrangements with Home Depot three months ago and with the contractor's installer scheduler in early-mid October and now our condo is currently not habitable, and we are expecting Thanksgiving guests.
We ask to speak with the contract manager. He is really sorry. Sorry is not acceptable, we want that carpet installed before Thanksgiving. He tentatively sets November 21 as the best he can do. He will check with installers up and down the west coast and see if he can get someone to install sooner and will get back to us. We don't hear from him again about a schedule change.
We call Home Depot (HD) in Reno, (immediately after our talk with the Romanoff flooring install manager) where we purchased the carpet. After several internal HD transfers, we get connected to Customer Service. We get "Theresa's" voicemail; we tell her about our dilemma and ask her to call us asap. We don't hear back from her for a couple of days. She seems nice enough when she returns our call. We explained what was happening (or more precisely what was not happening) and how disappointed we are in Home Depot and Romanoff service. She said she will call them and see what she can do and will call us back. We have not heard from her again since the call.
NO RECOURSE. We are paid in full to get the free installation. We cannot live in our condo and now must wait until November 21. We will have to stay up most of the night on November 21 after the carpet is installed to get our place back in order, as we have long-term commitments on November 22 that will take us out of the area. We will return Thanksgiving morning to start cooking.
We get an automated telephone confirmation November 20 that the installers will be coming between 9:00 and noon. November 21. My husband calls them at noon to inquire where they are? We get a call back a few hours later around 2:30. Their morning job took longer than they planned. The manager is so sorry! Really? Not nearly as sorry as we are! But he says, they could come November 22, or after on Friday after Thanksgiving. My husband and I decide to just have them come the Friday after Thanksgiving, and call install manager back and get a voicemail. We tell them to come on Friday. We have not received a call back as yet, so not sure if we are confirmed or not.
We cancel Thanksgiving at our house and inform our guests. We have NO CONFIDENCE that the installers will show up the Friday after Thanksgiving either or I would just reschedule Thanksgiving on Sunday, but I don't want to take the chance. Long story short- Dont use Home Depot for your flooring and installation. Disappointed and angry.

I received an email from Home Depot of the Lead Craftsman who would be installing carpet at said date and time. I email Romanoff Renovations, customerservice@romanoff-floors.com confirming they will be at said location to install carpet and to park in the back by garage. I also provided my phone number to reach me. I waited. Soon, it was after 4 pm.

I also ask "Why should we pay for carpeting when we have no carpet?" They said they understood and I am told that the dispute would take 4 to 6 weeks.
I am transferred to another Customer Service Rep of the Home Depot Corporate Office, Antonio 1-800-466-3337, #**. I express my disappointed and why I am disputing and cancelling carpet installation. I am told because they're "Corporate" they can make things happen and convinces me to reschedule this week if I would be interested. I say yes and that I would like Carpet Install Tuesday Morning. I inquire and ask, "What if no one shows up the said day, of Nov. 16 and time to install carpet?" The Rep. did not answer that question. The Rep. answered the question indirectly.
I am extremely disappointed with Romanoff Carpeting and Home Depot Corporate office. For one, we have had to re-schedule Carpet Install 3 times, two, the level of unprofessionalism concerns me and three, I remain skeptical that Carpet Install will happen on Thursday, Nov. 16. I am extremely disappointed. If I could, I would just cancel carpet install and go with someone else.

Go anywhere but Home Depot! I contacted them to measure my flooring. After paying for the measurement, they called me every week to just check-in. Took them 2x as they couldn't find my 1st measurement. My purchase was over $2,000. Then silence for days. Once the "installation" people called from Illinois, you are put on-hold forever, then they hung up on me. When I finally got to talk to a person, they said that the Columbia MO store didn't have my item in stock and no installation could be scheduled. I called the Columbia store, and the installation person "Angie" was extremely hateful and unwilling to help. After a lengthy and upsetting conversation with her, I cancelled the entire order.
I finally called back and spoke with Tom in flooring because I really wanted the Pergo. I re-ordered but just the Pergo and not the Carpet that was on my initial order. Still no date for delivery but I was willing to be patient. Once the item was in stock, it cost $79 for them to deliver when clearly it could have been picked up with a truck. I specifically asked if the items would fit into a pick-up truck. NOTE: They also have different delivery methods. One might be $100+ and the other might be $25. ASK! They are NOT transparent at all and will sell you the most expensive method. Once the items were delivered, there was baseboard (expensive $240 worth) on there that I did not order. Still no one has called to talk about installation. I finally had to call them, left a message and they returned the call the next day.
The installation days was a month away. I finally found someone local willing to install the flooring and called back to cancel my installation. The next day an associate contacted me about my refund on my installation. She took all my information down and I have yet to see my refund. Point being...they will call you every other day but once the sale is made, there is no follow-through. They have no business being in the installation business. They don't care and would rather make you feel like you did something wrong when you simply followed the directions of the salesman. I have $240 worth of baseboard that I didn't order and can't use. I over-paid for the deliver. They are crooked and they don't care about the customer's happiness. I will be trying another store when I go to purchase my carpet.

We had our carpet and tile redone by Home Depot. tl;dr NEVER use Home Depot for your flooring provider/installer. They will do every single step incorrectly and act oblivious. Store - we spoke with a handful of people from 2 different Home Depot stores. The workers at the store in Mesa, AZ (Superstition Springs) were especially hard-headed. Each person we spoke with told us something completely different in regards to the flooring we were choosing, the installation process, etc. I finally spoke with a really young guy in the flooring department who seemed new, but offered to do research for me before he just blurted out a random answer. What an amazing concept. Tim and Jamie were 2 of the worst salespeople I have ever spoken with and just so very unintelligent and uninformed.
Measurements - A Home Depot representative came out to measure our home for carpet. We thought he was doing carpet AND tile. He told us he would have to come back another time for the tile. This didn't make any sense, as he was already in our home. He finally agreed to do them both. Carpet - Our carpet arrived on a rainy day on the back of a flatbed trailer, uncovered. So our carpet/padding was sitting out in the rain. The installation went okay though and the carpet looks good.
Tile - I don't even know where to start with this one. When we were in the early stages of the process, the fine people in the Home Depot store promised us that we could get tile done within about a month or so (this was in June and we were set to move into our home in August). We thought this was perfect because our home would be empty during the installation so we wouldn't have to worry about furniture, dust, noise, or our pets. Well then the installers called and our installation date was set for August. Mind you, our carpet had already been installed in July. We were told by the installers themselves that this was odd because carpet should NEVER be installed before tile. Well, ours was.
Due to our schedules, we had to push the tile installation back to the end of September. We were told by numerous reps at Western Flooring (the place Home Depot uses for installation) that our tile installation would take 5 days (day 1 to rip up old flooring, days 2-3 to install new flooring, day 4 for grout, and day 5 for baseboards). They confirmed for us over and over again that it would only be 5 days, even though that seemed very quick. Once the actual installers started working (and we realized how slow things were going), we were finally told that we had "always" been scheduled for a 9-day installation. I should also mention that they sent out one guy and his cousin to do all of our tile. This was scary. Our house was a complete mess every single day. We had no idea that they were supposed to be cleaning at the end of each day until we re-read our paperwork. Dust, tools, tarp, etc were eeeverywhere.
We finally called a supervisor to come out because we were not pleased with the way things were going. This includes scrapes/holes in our walls, scratched furniture, etc. The supervisor, Candido, was great. He agreed with us that the work site was entirely too messy and the work that was being done was questionable. Even though he came out fairly early in the process to visit and clean things up, we are still completely unsatisfied with the finished work.
Now that the job is over, our floor is complete unlevel. There are spots in our kitchen where you can feel that you are walking downward (almost like you're walking downhill) and then suddenly you will stub your toe on a raised up tile. There are a couple of chipped tiles that should have never been installed. The transition from carpet to tile in the bathrooms is also completely weird and again, I often stub my toe. Candido mentioned that he will call us back to schedule some time to fix a portion of these mistakes. I truly hope this is the case because he has been the only person to show care and concern and try to make things right for us.
We are so truly disappointed by this whole process, as well as the end result. For as much money as we spent, I would have never dreamed things would end up like this. I want to give a big shout out to every employee at Home Depot for not giving a single ** about our experience there. Another big shout out to the many employees I spoke with at Western Flooring who had about the same attitude. I will NEVER recommend either business to anyone I know and I will never even shop at Home Depot again. They have made us the most loyal Lowe's customers ever. Again, this is not a reflection of Candido, as he was nothing but great.

That means he missed 2 days of work because of these guys. Second, he was supposed to get a call when the work was done to inspect it. He never received a call. Third, they removed a closet door and did not put it back on. Fourth, they did not replace the threshold between the hall and bathroom. Fifth, they left debris everywhere. And last but not least, since the rental is vacant the water is turned off. These people used BOTH toilets and left human waste sitting there. We didn't realize until almost a week after the installation. So you can imagine the smell. Unbelievable.

I've been on the phone with Home Depot listening to their lie after lie after lie. So then I went to Estes Trucking who was to ship the product to me. Estes says they don't have my flooring, it is being shipped to a third-party trucking company. I called the third-party trucking company. They said they don't have my product, that Estes hasn't shipped it yet just to run around game.
Home Depot is the biggest piece of ** and I'll never go back. Just a bunch of ** Liars. I was even on the phone with one of their supervisors. She gave me 10% off my bill like big deal. You can have your $320 back. Just give me my flooring. So now I'm about to cancel my order with them. My advice to anyone, if you can't buy it off the shelf don't order it especially through Home Depot and Lowe's is just as bad.

I bought hardwood flooring and asked Home Depot for a referral for floors as well as sheetrock and painting. They gave me a referral. They said they check out their referrals and make sure they are licensed contractors. Anyway the contractor came out and put down my floor as well as fixed some sheetrock and painted. My floor felt different so I called Home Depot to come out and take a look. They never did. My sheetrock was uneven at the ends. I told the contractor to sand it down. My doors that he painted were painted with flat white not semi gloss. I made him repaint them.
My closet door had paint drips running down. I made him sand them down and redo. My molding wasn't attached by the wall in one of my rooms and a part of the floor had to be redone. It wasn't straight. The pro didn't know you don't use eggshell paint in the bathroom. He didn't know you don't paint countertop with just any paint and mostly his work was not professional. Home Depot didn't even come out to take a look. After I asked corporate as well as the store (Bridgewater, NJ) who refer the contractor. Home Depot was a huge disappointment to dealing with a pro they referred but even worst they don't check their referrals and their work. I will never use a pro home depot refers again.

Home Depot has the worst customer service EVER! We went in and bought a 12x23 carpet remnant. Made a special trip back to pick it up the same day. The very next day we had people come in and get our entire room ready for the carpet. Furniture removed, Padding and tack strip in... Everything was ready! When we brought the carpet inside, we immediately noticed it had 4 inch slices into each side of the carpet. Then we thought we had better measure the length to see how much extra we were going to have. Our room was 11x21. This is when we realized not only did someone cut the carpet on both sides but it was only 19 ft long! Definitely not going to work for our room. So here we all sit... Room torn apart and ready for carpet! We made the call to Home Depot who did not care AT ALL!
They said it was a remnant and remnants aren't always correct measurements! WHAT! They then told us that we could take it back and they would give us 10% off our next carpet order. Are you serious... Menards is offering 11% off just because! The manager did not care at all and we are left with a mess. DO NOT BUY CARPET AT HOME DEPOT!

In early July 2017, I went to Home Depot to have an estimate of the new carpet I wanted to install in the living room, stairs and basement. Although the man they sent out the first time to take the measurements did not include in the papers he submitted to them the measurements for the basement and the closet, they made me pay an extra $20 to redo the measurements in addition to the $35 I had originally paid. But I told myself OK, let's pay $20 extra so that I can have the carpet before school starts.
On July 29, we were finally able to finalize the deal with minor changes and I was told in writing that the estimated delivery date was between August 7-28. All it takes is 2 hours to install the carpet, yet they refused to do it although I was available all the month of August until August 23 when I officially resumed my work. In the beginning of September, their installation company Romanoff sent me an email and told me that they would deliver it on Monday September 11, which was impossible for me to do unless I wanted to be fired from my job. I called them dozens of times to find another date which was not a Monday or a school day and ironically they suggested another Monday in October, another proof that I was talking to deaf people.
Then I went to Home Depot and told them: "I am a teacher. The Romanoff company you hired wants me to cancel my classes so that I can have a new carpet. What you are asking is impossible. The only day they can deliver it is Friday 15 of September because I do not teach that day. Either you do the installation on Friday the 15 or I cancel the deal." Finally, after hours on the phone, we agreed on Friday 15. So I cleared my schedule and waited for them to arrive only to receive a phone call informing me that the installation was cancelled because their delivery man felt suddenly sick. I was not born yesterday. They gave my turn to someone else because the day before (Thursday, September 14), I received an email from Romanoff/Home Depot reminding me of next day's delivery.
In a Kafkaesque fashion, I returned to Home Depot to have them deliver the installation on the date we agreed upon and they refused. I had to cancel the deal and although I insisted to have my full refund including both the $35 and $20 I had to pay for the measurement fees since they did not honor their side of the bargain. They refunded me the amount I paid but with only the extra $20 which I should not have been charged in the first place. If you are a teacher, I strongly advise you to avoid them. Besides their deaf ears, they are unethical and will never honor the delivery date on your contract. As teachers, we have better things to do than waste endless time with Home Depot and Romanoff Customer Service people on the phone.

In 2013 I purchased carpet and had it installed. The carpet wear is fine. After installation I called because I felt the tack board through the carpet and called and they sent Nacho the installer back out. His only comment was that he thought I was selling the home, which makes no difference in quality of the installation to me. A new purchaser would care. His remedy was to hammer down the tacks in the walking areas which left the carpet marked and flat. It has never recovered. I had Home Depot come out and look at the damage and they did not offer any remedy.
I'm not the type to have them rip it out and try again. I though I with I was. Now I just have padding bunching under the carpet on the stairway and master bedroom. The carpet wearing fine but it's obvious that it is too thin for laying with tack strip. Home Depot and Nacho the installer both blew it. Home Depot is not welcome in my home again. Warranty is 10 years if you have it professionally cleaned annually, which I have not, I clean it. I will call but I don't expect anything good from it. If they repair I will add it to my complaint.

We are new home owners in the USA and we bought a laminate flooring for upstairs. Home Depot required a person who would do the measurement, so we paid $30,00 for this service. The lady came to do a proper measurement and she was not sure if the floor needed to be leveled. So another lady came to check the floor if the floor was level enough to lay the laminate flooring on top of the under floor.
She informed us that the floor did not need any other work. The day of the installation the flooring company told us that the floor was not level and we needed to pay 1,800 extra! Bottom line Home Depot told us that this outcome was our own responsibility! So what was the point of hiring the measurement service! They told us they could not do anything and that was it. Nothing, no sorry, no reimbursement of the $30, no small gesture of any kind. They just did not care. We will never ever buy anything from Home Depot and will tell everybody not to do so either. The manager at the Eugene store, Jay agreed he sure would not want it in his home. Long story short, Home Depot would not stand behind the defective product they sold us. The manufacturer would not stand behind their product. I am stuck with $1700 worth of defective flooring stacked on my porch that I can not use. What a waste. Do not buy Traffic Master products. Purchased carpet from Home Depot on August 12th 2017. Waited 2 weeks for it to arrive. When it came on the truck it was totally NOT the same carpet that we had ordered. The samples that got from the Home Depot store & the samples we received in the mail from the Mohawk factory, were a much better grade. The carpet that came on the truck had a very poor backing, the pile was not compact & tight, the shag was shorter and the color was different! Yet Mohawk says it's the right carpet!
They're basically trying to pawn off a cheaper carpet, while we pay for a higher grade, in the hope that we wouldn't notice it! Home Depot wanted us to install it and then argue with the factory. We refused the carpet and wanted a refund, HD said there would be a restocking fee. After arguing with two different girls at Home Depot I spoke with the store manager and was able to get my refund. I can't believe that Home Depot will back the manufacturer and not the customer on such an obvious difference in carpet!

Two years ago, we bought bamboo flooring from HD for our new home. We were on a very tight schedule as our old home had sold in record time and our contractor was unwilling to be flexible with us. The flooring arrived 12 weeks later, but it was the wrong flooring. We could not wait another 12 weeks for flooring and our choices are limited on an island in the middle of the Pacific. We worked out a deal with the local manager to get some inexpensive laminate knowing that it was not the flooring we wanted, but we had to move quickly. Our contractor had already laid some of the flooring by the time we saw it and charged us an additional $4000 to tear up the damaged laminate they had originally sent, laminate that did not match any of our color scheme.
Two years later, that cheap flooring is buckling and coming up in several places. We decided to tear it up and buy some quality flooring that would withstand our humid climate. We were pleased that HD tried to work with us and gave us a great deal on the laminate replacement, so we looked at their flooring again. We chose Brazilian Koa hardwood, 1/2" tongue and groove. Our flooring was delivered yesterday. We received 3/8" click-seal laminate, not Koa. The boxes are correctly labeled, but the wrong product is inside the boxes... Again!
How can they make the same mistake twice? The local manager is working with us and is very polite. This has got to be a corporate problem. Where do you get your flooring from? Does anybody do any quality control on special orders? As much as I like the local employees at Home Depot, I can no longer patronize this corporation that appears to be severely lacking in customer service.

HD offers a "72 hour install" for carpeting. There are very limited carpet selections for this service, understandable and makes sense. I went to the store to ask about the 3 day install, they kept telling me it actually is 5 day including the measure. We went back and forth a couple times. They say, "It's 3 days from after you get your quote." Ok that makes sense too. So once you get a quote and pay it's installed within 3 days. Great!
I pick the carpet and pad that I want but I explain to the sales person that I am willing to change to whatever is available because I am trying to get this done quickly, the 3 days is more important, I don't want to be stalled because the carpet I selected is not available. (None of the choices are all that great anyway). I scheduled my measure appt. They came the next day, on time, very professional, took measurements quickly and they look accurate. So far so good. The quote was sent by the end of the day. I went to HD the next morning to pay. You have to pay in full upfront.
I notice my order says "5 day install". Arrrgh! I really thought I was clear about getting it done quickly. Ok no problem it’s just a couple more days... I get a call from the installer the following morning to schedule the install. They can't come out for an additional 3 days. It’s Friday and they are counting business days. So what I thought would be done by Tuesday or Wednesday with a "72 hour install" is now a week from Wednesday! Thing is, if they can't do the 72 hour install why advertise it and just piss people off?

We bought carpet for the whole house from our local Home Depot (718 S. Washington Street, Papillion, NE). The installation began on June 15, and hasn't ever been completed. They carpeted 2 rooms (living room and a bedroom), then stopped, apparently because the rooms took longer to carpet than they initially envisioned. The contractors have called 5 times to set up appointments, and then later (on the appointment day) cancelled, causing my wife to stay home needlessly for those 5 days. Our house has been taken apart now for 5 weeks, with all furniture unavailable. Contractor and local store no longer return calls; the Home Depot corporate customer care staff members refer me back to the local store. We made the mistake of paying in advance of installation. Now I believe I will have to start a legal action to get our money refunded. The carpet itself is of good quality, but the installation process has been utterly unacceptable.

We have also talk with customer service with no satisfaction and nobody seems to be able to fix the problem. As I stated we ordered carpet on June 15 from this store with the free installation if you buy carpet from them. We paid 35.00$ to get the two areas measured. The areas are 2 outside porches covered and screened in both with carpet already just wanted new. Everyone was told it was going on the on these porches not to mention the carpet I ordered was indoor outdoor. The measure was done, I want to add I ask everyone I dealt with if they thought there would be a problem as the carpet was going on porches and everyone assured me they do outside areas all the time.
3 weeks after we ordered we called the store to see why we haven't heard from them and they tell us they can't do it, we have already paid for the product, when we ordered it 1332.75 plus 35.00$. Their explanation is their installers won't do it. I have talk with 3 independent installers who will do it but Home Depot won't. All I want is my carpet. Customer Service is so unprofessional and management has no problem solving skills. None of these people call you back either, you just have to keep calling them. I purchased all of the tile and supplies from Home Depot. At every juncture I explained that I emptied the Home Depot of the tile and had to order a pallet online to get the required quantity. I explained at the start, in the middle and at the end that I would have the 3 rooms empty, carpet removed and baseboard removed and all I needed was the tile (purchased as described above). When I purchased and scheduled the estimate, when the estimate guy came out, when I tried to schedule the installation.
When the estimate was complete it was over $5000. I explained that could not correct, and then the lady at the Home depot flooring dept said that the quote included all of the prep work (which I previously had told her that I would do), the tile and materials (which I had previously told the her that I had purchased from Home depot) and the installation. So she said that would have to be fixed. Of course if she had been listening nothing would have needed fixing.
So when I finally physically went down to this Home Depot as I was scheduled, the lady who could adjust my estimate went to lunch. I left and ran errands and came back two hours later. That is when she said that the Home Depot installers would probably not install my tile because I had a mixed purchase, some from the Home Depot store and also some online. That is when I got aggravated. I asked why she did not tell me this before I paid for the estimate? I had also explained this to the estimate guy. She first accused me of not telling her that, and I immediately corrected her.
I ended up speaking with the on duty manager and she told me the same thing, that the Home depot installers would not install the Home Depot tile because it was a mixed purchase and the tile may not be uniform. I explained how that information should have been relayed earlier. When I made the online purchase at the Home Depot, when I paid for the estimate, when I first asked that the estimate be corrected, at no juncture did these lame employees tell me this SHOW STOPPER information. All I got was my estimate payment back.

The carpet quality is fine, everything else ridiculous and could have been prevented. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable local carpet vendor and not Home Depot even if costs a few extra dollars. You will not regret that decision as much as you are likely to regret buying from Home Depot - there is just no human intelligence, supervision or accountability.
I ordered carpet for two rooms. When the carpet arrived the installer said it was defective and that the layout was wrong--I have to take his word for it. The layout map generated seams that abutted a main entrance door and left a triangle patch at the foot of the stairs, clearly unwise and prone to early failure of the seams even if it saves 5 feet of carpet. The layout map was never discussed with or approved by me and is a good example of why a computer program to minimize the amount of carpet is moronic without human review. So I learned, Home Depot or any other vendor, ask to review the carpet layout map first and don't assume the person walking around your house with a laser measuring device knows what he or she is doing.
Multiple conversations with Home Depot local store and central office resulted in them agreeing to reorder and remeasure the layout. I agreed to pay for any extra needed carpet. The first installer cut the carpet but did not tack it down. According to the second installer he undercut it so that it was unusable even if I wanted to use it in one of the rooms. Thanks, bro. Home Depot did not remeasure anything or generate a new carpet layout map (the installer gets it on an iPad). So the second go round a different installer arrives with the same amount of carpet and the same bizarre layout diagram. There is enough carpet for one room but not two (we are talking just a few extra feet, not a massive amount). It is Saturday and no one answers the phone at the local Home Depot and no one is available at their central dispute service. I am glad they record calls because that will verify what was agreed to, unless they edit it.
So now they are laying carpet in one room, the second room remains after a month empty and torn up. Since Home Depot contracts with local installers they will do nothing without explicit approval. This being Saturday it has taken two hours to get to someone who would do that. To short circuit problems I am willing to pay for a few extra feet of carpet but I still cannot get an answer about that and have an empty nearly unusable room. I'll bet they are going to want to charge me for all new carpet in the second room, a major cost compared what it would have been had they been competent at measuring in the first place. I will fight that battle when it comes, hopefully not. Granted this is a first world problem but annoying and expensive. Home Depot is not much less cost than a responsible local vendor. I have learned my lesson and I strongly encourage anyone reading this to heed my bad experience.

We had water damage to our bathroom floor and needed it replaced. Went to Home Depot. Of course the estimate tripled in price by the time we were supposed to have it done. Installers came out and did a shoddy job. The baseboard was the type for a living room or dining room and was way off scale for a small bathroom. Plus it didn't match any of the baseboards in the rest of the house. Large gaps, bad cuts, etc. SO I called them and complained and had two people come out and look at it. The first was a service manager that took pics and the second was an installing supervisor (he left me with no card so I am assuming that is what he was). He told me all would be fixed, with new baseboard, trim that was messed up would be fixed. He really sounded like he was going to get it done.
Second installer comes out and the first thing he says is, "What am I supposed to do". Are you kidding me. Why would you send people to jobs with no idea of what they are doing? Especially if you are fixing a previous job. He did put the new baseboard down, but the first installers had cut the wall in places so now there are large gaps and chunks above the baseboard because it is a shorter one. No trim was done at all. I immediately called the service manager and he said he would look into it. That was a week ago and nothing. They said this installer (contractor I guess) does the whole area. So in my mind why would they care what we think. Now I don't know what to do. No one does their job anymore. And now we are stuck with this crappy looking baseboard.

They left a little floor leveler behind on our existing floors, no big deal. Our installers had no idea we have a Murphy bed. Pictures were taken. Next, they had no idea we needed carpet removed. All listed in the contract. Remove the carpet and I get told 1600 dollars for floors to be leveled. My problem is $200.00 in material and 1400.00 in labor for a 2 hour job! She gave us a receipt and stapled it to a pack of paper. Neither myself or the rep reviewed the packet or signed anything in the packet. After the carpet was installed I received a call from Home Depot saying we owed an additional $354.50. I explained to them that we paid in full and they told me we only paid 90% and owed another 10%. We had a laminate floor installed by Home Depot and the guys did a wonderful job. So much so, we ordered the next laminate floor from Home Depot also. The catch being they sent different installers. The second installers were at best awful. I wish we would have never left them in the house. They cut my door jambs too short and extremely uneven (1/4 inch height difference from side to side on a 4 inch molding). Cut into custom cupboards, leaving visible cut marks way above the floor, trying to trim them for the floor height difference. Pretty much ruining the molding and cupboard corner and ends. Really beat things up. The floor transition strip had glue squashed out on all sides and peeled up within a week. Not to mention they did not bring the floor close enough to the wall to put the moldings back on without falling to the subfloor. There is at least 1.5 inches of space for floor expansion on the walls.
We also found charges that were not on the bill when we paid it in the store. We did not authorize these charges. Customer service at Home Depot is by far the worst we have ever dealt with. No reputable flooring company would treat a customer the way Home Depot does. Nobody calls back, no one is available in the store, corporate does not call back. You pay upfront, they do a crap job and no one cares. You will need to return extra flooring to the store because Home Depot will order lots of extra flooring and other unnecessary items. Then they come along with the excuse "Pergo won't warranty your floor unless you order these items".
Home Depot offers a one year warranty. It takes weeks to get your money back. The crappy floor installation took place the first week in March and we are still working on getting it straightened out and we are heading into Memorial Day Weekend. The second floor experience by far outweighs the nice job the first group did. I would never recommend Home Depot to anyone I know. In 50 years, I have never had such bad customer service on a home improvement... and so many lies.

I recently decided to put wood laminate flooring into my home. Mind you the area I am doing is not very big but is roughly 400 square feet. I took a trip to my local Home Depot and found out that they do the install for .89 cents per square ft with the purchase of laminate that is 1.39 or more per slat. I did some math and thought to myself ok with the materials and labor and tax I'd be looking at roughly 1300 or 1400. So when I spoke with one of the reps there, he informed me that "Yeah, that sounds about right," with all the costs and fees. So in agreement, he told me that I would have to pay a 50 dollar fee to have someone come look at my home and do measurements which was completely fine with me and he also pointed out that the 50 I paid would be put towards the cost of the job.
I made an appointment, had a gentleman come out for 15 min and then leave. He told me I would be getting my results by email but instead I received it by phone the next day. Let me say it wasn't 1300 or even close to 1400. They told me it would cost 3000, for the install of a 400 square ft home. Can I say, "Wow you cannot be serious." Immediately I drove to the store to find to my surprise nobody there to help me and when I did find someone, she finally pulled up my order form and with a sign right behind me that says NO HIDDEN FEES, she began to tell me about all the hidden fees they throw in. AWESOME RIGHT! So as I stared at her in total disbelief I said, "Ma'am, the only reason I came and paid my 50 dollar deposit was because I was misinformed by one of your coworkers. But now you're telling me I literally just gave you money for no apparent reason and it's nonrefundable."
Now I'm sorry but how are companies allowed to pull stunts like this and take people's hard earned money with a total disregard or lack of common courtesy or decency. It's not like I have money floating around my home. I honestly wonder how much money they make off of people like me each and every day. Home Depot needs a change and hopefully one day someone can bring them down.

Lied to by store employees and management - I placed an order for 45 boxes of tile at Southside Home Depot in Jacksonville, FL. When it arrived on May 3, 2017, we sent our tile guys over to pick it up. They started laying the tile, but mid-day they came to me and informed me they didn't have enough boxes. We counted the empty boxes and there were 32. I called up Home Depot and asked the tile guy (Joe) where the other 13 boxes were. He said he put them all on our tile guy's truck. I said, "Did you count them?" He said, "We put them all on." I said, "Did you count them." He repeated his nebulous answer. I repeated the same question 5 times, and 5 times he insisted they put the entire order on the truck. Furthermore, he informed me it was fruitless for me to complain because the tile guys had signed the pick-up confirmation form which stated 45 boxes had been picked up.
I got off the phone and began to wonder if my tile guys had stashed 13 boxes away somewhere. I told them that Home Depot said they picked up all 45 boxes. They were infuriated and started speaking words in a language I couldn't understand. I checked their truck and didn't find any hidden tiles. Next I went to my computer and checked the time of my e-mailed pick-up confirmation. It was 8:53am. And the tile guys arrived at my home a few minutes after 9am. My home is 10 minutes from Home Depot, so I realized the tile guys didn't have time to offload 13 boxes of tile somewhere. I then asked the tile guys if they signed anything. They said they signed nothing. I then started to suspect the Home Depot folks were lying to me.
I called the manager and he reiterated the same false story that Joe told me. He did walk around the store while I was on the phone with him and he said he didn't see the other 13 boxes anywhere. He insisted the tile guys picked up all the boxes. I told him the timeline didn't add up. I then insisted that he pull the video of the loading dock for that time period. He said he would, and that it would take a while, and he would get back with me. He never did.
However, a couple hours later Joe called me back with a very different attitude. I couldn't take his call at that time, but he left a message saying that they had actually only loaded 32 boxes onto the truck. Eventually, after several calls to the corporate office, Home Depot did refund the other 13 boxes, and gave me a small discount and free shipping on re-ordering. However, it would take another week to get the tiles in, so our floor was one third unfinished for over a week.
While I appreciate Home Depot's attempts to make it right, the problem at this store is a mindset that the customer and his workmen are lying. That created a lot of friction with me and my workmen, and I spent half a day calling Home Depot multiple times, talking with the corporate office, trying to calm down my tile guys, and then re-ordering the missing tiles. It was a real circus.
This all could have been avoided if the store employees had followed the proper protocols of counting the product before they released it. Even if they failed to count it, they could still have avoided the problem by admitting they never counted it instead of lying and trying to cover up their blunder. I have since bought over $1000 of purchases at Lowe's (stuff I would have normally bought at Home Depot). It will be a long time before I shop again at Home Depot.

I ordered a 6' x 8' end of outdoor carpeting. It was less than $30. There was NO mention of shipping. AFTER I placed the order, I was billed $118. It immediately went to my credit card, literally in seconds. They had changed my order to TWO carpet ends, and added FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS to ship them. I tried to cancel online, but there was no response when I clicked. I tried four times, just to be sure. I tried to call, and again, was unable to get through all their lineup of "selection". There was no mention of cancellation of an order. In my humble opinion, that is fraud at best, and outright theft at worst. I will use my Chase credit card to contest this insult. They will never have my business again, and I will tell all my friends and online acquaintances about it.

We had whitish-gray backsplash tiles installed on April 24. The next day, with the supervisor present, both men (installer and supervisor) were mumbling about the grout and tiles. Neither said anything to me, the homeowner. The problem? The grout was changing the color of the tiles from very light gray to brown. Later, I learned that the supervisor told the USIG manager they had turned to dark gray, as if that was acceptable. While they were there, I noticed the tiles seemed darker, but didn't realize the extent of it until they left and I had a chance to appraise it properly. When I called USIG the next day, they said to wait a week for the tiles to dry, apparently to see if they would change color back to light gray. They didn't.
By this time I had remembered that the young installer, who didn't speak English and had to communicate via a translator app on his cellphone, had given me a container that he didn't use, saying I could return it to get my money back. When I looked at the can, it was Grout Release and clearly stated that it must be applied before the grout to "Protect against grout staining tile and stone." He didn't apply it! Moreover, he had spent time installing tile in an area that was not indicated on the specifications. I wanted him to leave at 5pm, but he insisted on staying until 8pm to finish. Apparently, he ran out of time (by wasting an hour doing the wrong thing), then cut corners by not applying the required Grout Release that was part of the job.
When the inspectors finally came (after several phone calls) on May 3, they agreed to pay us for the four tiles that should not have been put up ($50). They told us the color of the tiles was "close enough". Ha! If I can upload pictures, anyone can see they are completely different. They did not offer to replace and re-do the job correctly, or to reimburse us for the labor and time spent on tiling the wrong wall. They also offered to give us credit for the extra supplies to save us a trip to Home Depot (we've been back twice to talk to managers and could've returned it ourselves). I haven't seen any refunds, as yet. They also offered a $150 credit at Home Depot (haven't seen that, either). None of these "offers" addresses the fact that our once-beautiful kitchen is now covered with muddy-looking backsplash tiles. We wince whenever we go in there.
One more thing, both the installer, supervisor and regional managers explained how we should apply the can of "sealer", which came with the other supplies, when the tile dried. We have no intention of doing this since we hate the brown tiles and don't want them permanently sealed. However, we realized that we had not bought a "do-it-yourself" kit, and it was their responsibility to apply this sealer. We did not sign on to do the labor ourselves. At this point, we are waiting to hear from a manager at Home Depot, who is trying to discuss this with USIG and get a satisfactory resolution for us. We do not want to communicate with USIG directly since we've only gotten the run-around.

I paid $50 for home measurement for carpets. The company Home Depot uses applied my payment to another Customer and never set up an appointment with me. I had to call multiple times and get a Supervisor in order to get someone out there, took my whole morning. Next, the install got scheduled a month out and that doesn't work for me. So they gave me an appointment yesterday for tomorrow. They called this morning and said their van broke down and they can't come tomorrow so they're going to come not this Saturday, but next. I took the appointment. They called a couple of hours later and said they can't do that, they need to come next Wednesday. I called, sat on hold for a long time, and the person who schedules is at lunch and I was told to call back in 30 minutes.
No. I have had nothing but issues and I'm being told these 3rd party companies are the only ones that Home Depot goes through. It's awful, time consuming, stressful and I will NEVER go through Home Depot again. My Dad just passed away and I need new carpet to get a renter in the home to cover the mortgage cost and Home Depot has made this process so much more stressful and painful it makes me sick. These 3rd parties are failing to follow through and no one should be subjected to it. JUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND KEEP IT!!! On March 3 2017 we make a carpet order for our house and make the payment and the salesman told us that the price of the carpet was different online but he will take the order and later on will go back and change it. So then 1 week later then came the measurements and it was less than what I was expecting so I changed the carpet for more expensive carpet and the same salesman said "OK will change it for a better price and better carpet."
So then they set up the installation day for 4-13-2017 and I call my husband to tell him that the carpet was not the one we order so I call the salesman and he said we need to talk to the manager, so we went to talk to her and she assured us that the installers put our carpet in a different house but since this wasn't our fault that will take care of us and told us so sorry and the carpet will be install in 4 days and that will compensate us for their mistake. Well they took 10 days to schedule the installation, well they call and five us 4-19-2017. Told them OK. Well the installer call and day before to tells us that they won't be able to install the carpet due to personal matter and hang up. Well I was totally upset so I went and spoke to the manager again and said she will make some calls and will call me back.
Guess what, she never did, so on 4-24 they show up and install my carpet so then I when the to talk to the manager again to get my compensation back and she said she can't do that and we need to talk to the manager, so we spoke to other guy and he said "we will give you $100 dlls of compensation" but never want to give me the difference of the carpet back and he was so so unprofessional and DESPOT and said "take it or leave it", so I walked out and file a small claim.

I was very aggravated, right off the bat, when only one person showed up to install, because we had furniture to be moved. The company called us the day before to review our order, and stated that we were to have furniture moved. Then the company called that morning to tell us the installers would arrive between 8 and 11 AM, and again, stated that our furniture would be moved by them. As my husband and I are older, and both have had recent injuries, we could not help move furniture. I called USIG and explained the situation.
I was told that they would send someone from the warehouse. Our installer was great. He measured and started cutting the padding, while waiting for the second person. Eventually, someone came and helped him move the furniture, then left, and came back to help Jesus move the furniture back. This was an unnecessary aggravation, as it was well-noted that moving of the furniture was part of our work order. The carpet installation, clean up was excellent, but our installer seemed a bit upset, as well. He was very conscientious.

Purchased whole house carpet 1/19/17. Installed over 2 days: 2/7/17 & 2/8/17. Receipt not detailed to show that they make you purchase 30% or more square footage of carpet than you really need. Installers only spoke Spanish and left cigarette butts in the yard. Packed ALL furniture in other rooms which was ridiculous. Kitchen sink, refrigerator, everything was blocked off from 8am to 8pm. Forced to eat out entire day - extra expense. Even blocked bathroom with the couch. Stacked table with metal feet on top of desk that made huge scratches through the finish. Put very heavy metal file cabinets on top of delicate, fragile China cabinet and scratched it. Forcefully dragged couch with wood feet across tile floor taking all the finish off the legs of the couch. Hit dining room chandelier at least 7 times with it swinging back and forth. Used my vacuum, and broke it.
Did not vacuum floors before installed new carpet over the top, even with my request TWO times to do so. Had to pay $220 from a separate moving company to move the piano and pay $135 for them to move the China cabinet. This is NOT a free install. Bedroom seam 1 foot inside doorway that we complained about they denied it was a seam. WHAT??? It's obviously a seam. Dining Room seam also 1 foot inside main entrance, very visible. Two inch chunk of carpet on the stairs that is clearly a visible hole. Installers didn't want to install the carpet on the stairs because the edges need to be folded over and it's very time consuming. They told us we need to get the edges bound and had us call the store to inquire. The store explained it would be 3 weeks and an extra $200. We finally told them to just install the carpet as they were supposed to. It was obvious they just didn't want to do it.
We complained about the above issues and over the next month, had to arrange schedule to be home to meet Home Depot inspector, Shaw floor/milling inspector (since Home Depot didn't want to admit wrongdoing and blame it on the mill). 3/6/17 FINALLY after months of phone calls and putting up with Home Depot lies after lies, supposedly they ordered new carpet and will replace the Dining Room. Even though the entire first floor actually SHOULD be replaced plus the hole in the carpet on the stairs plus the one bedroom with the seam in the wrong place. Home Depot lied so many times and never called when they said they would. It was obvious they were just waiting or hoping we would just forget about the whole thing.
I could have filed a claim for the damaged furniture but didn't because the bigger issue of our dissatisfaction with the installation wasn't even being addressed. I was assuming damaging our furniture and breaking the vacuum wouldn't get a response either. 3/15/17 Received call from United to schedule the re-install for 3/29/17. Today is 3/29/17. Installers were supposed to call by 10 am to give us our window. It is 10:30am and haven't heard. Of course I called them and was told they would call me back. I've heard that one before. This is such a mess. If you take anything away from this review, just don't use Home Depot for carpet. It is not worth anyone's hassle, time or extreme frustration. They are non-responsive and this has been a ridiculous process. I'm hardly comfortable giving them even 1 star. I wish ZERO stars was an option.

Sadly, I did not read the carpetprofessor website, which warns against big box stores like Home Depot for carpeting. I had a higher end carpet installed in 2007. I used Home Depot's contractor. Within a week it had wrinkles all over, but I didn't do anything because of the hassle of moving furniture and lack of time. In the process of preparing to sell, I had a stretching company come in. The installation was incompetently done, bent wood nails where there was cement, far more seams than there should have been, and the carpet was delaminating like a zipper.
Note that the Home Depot warranty for delamination: ONE YEAR. Yup, and because I used Home Depot's installers, they of COURSE would not mention if they were installing old, delaminating carpet to begin with. So why two stars and not one? Because when I called Home Depot with this, they always promptly responded and were courteous right up to the point where I learned how poor the warranty was. So... kudos for customer service, but a big STEER CLEAR based on product and services.

Then they ordered wrong materials, then once they got to the installation date, they required $1300 more before they would start the job. Then they required me to go to the store that I ordered from to make the payment, instead of taking payment over the phone. They sat in my front yard, not working for 3 hrs. Then, the installation looks AWFUL! My living room is sunk in, so you have to take a step down. It looks different on all 3 spots. They didn't use the right piece in 2 spots. We get there about 4 PM Saturday to the customer service desk and the employee there told me that they have been working on my order ALL day long to piece together my 97 boxes. And I asked, "Why?" when I ordered 97 boxes. He says, "Well they are different dye lots..." and I asked why? Since the whole purpose of ordering 97 boxes was to have them in the same dye lot. He further tells me that I could take 27 boxes on a pallet they had ready today. And I'm like NO! I need ALL my 97 boxes today. I immediately asked for the supervisor/manager.
The supervisor comes and tells me that she will figure out what's going on and walks away with an employee as the employee tells her what's going on. She later comes back to me and tells me that the employee that entered my order did not specify that I wanted ALL 97 boxes from the same dye lot!!! I said, "Fine! But where are ALL 97 boxes from the different lots that she ordered?" And she couldn't answer me. She said for me to call her on MONDAY which is today 03/06/17 and see what she has resolved or we might have to just re-order my tile again (another week or so wasted again).
It has been such an inconvenience to me! It's costing me money. I paid a friend to take me with his trailer to pick up my tile and it was a waste of his gas and his time. I had told my installer that I was ready for him to start on MONDAY but then I had to call him Sunday to cancel and he's pissed at me because I kept him from taking another job. I called HOME DEPOT at 1 PM today and they tell me the computer system is down and not able to give me an update on my order. The lady that answered the phone told me to call her back in 30 minutes and she also said she would talk to the supervisor/manager to see if she had an update. So I will be calling them in just a few minutes. This has been a nightmare and I am wasting people's time and my money!!!

On Jan 24th, 2017 we had Home Depot come to our house to measure for carpet. We went to the store on 2/4/2017 and picked out the carpet, applied for credit for the 6 month no interest instead of paying cash. The week of 2/27/2017 the installers called and scheduled the install the week of 3/6/2017. The week of 2/27/2017 a credit card statement came showing the amount for the carpet and a minimum payment due 3/14/2017. Now the kicker is WE DON'T HAVE THE CARPET! I called the credit card company and they said they already paid Home Depot on 2/4/2017, despite the carpet had not even been scheduled to be installed and still IS NOT INSTALLED. I was told I would not be charged interest but that is not true because if I don't pay it off in the six month period I will be charged interest from 2/4/2017 even though the carpet IS NOT INSTALLED and won't be until over a month from 2/4/2017!
I called Home Depot, got the assistant store manager, told her my complaint and her response is "that's the policy." I ask, "Where in any of the paperwork did I sign agreeing to be charged for a product I DON'T HAVE and will not have until more than a MONTH AFTER we picked out the carpet?" I can go online to a credit union, get approved for a car loan, go to a dealership a month later buy a car and not be charged until I take delivery of the car. The assistant manager of Home Depot told me the credit card company pays them for the order when I'm approved because they "have to order the carpet." I said, "That's an inventory issue, what has the way you order your inventory have to do with me and why am I paying for the way you choose to stock inventory?" So WITHOUT receiving the product or installation, I am being charged from the day I picked out the carpet despite the PRODUCT BEING DELIVERED OR INSTALLED.
I asked for a copy of where I agreed to this, why wasn't I told this would happen when I picked out the carpet or when I was approved for credit? Don't buy carpet from Home Depot without understanding exactly how they will be charging you and when even though you have not received the product, even though the delivery has not occurred and even though the installation is not done. Had I been told this I would have paid cash at installation or bought somewhere else.
We have had the inside of your house painted in preparation for new carpet, moved all the necessary furniture so feel like Home Depot acted in a dishonest and fraudulent way. Does this seem fair to anyone, should they have told me I would be charged from the day I picked out the carpet, from the day I was approved for credit, should they charge me for anything before I actually have the product, before it's delivered or before it is installed? My advice is don't buy carpet from Home Depot.

If I could give the flooring process less than 1 star I would. I didn't even have floors installed based on the process and poor customer service. I made an appointment in store, get to the store, and they lost my appointment / didn't have it, and the man who was supposed to meet us was off. So I talked to a nice lady and was told I needed to have an in-home measurement done, which costs $35. HD was my 5th stop for quotes so by this point I knew the measurements, but was told it was the only way to get a quote. So I paid $35, asked for an evening measurement and paid. They won't give you a time, just says someone will call you the day of.
On the day of I get a call from a guy who says he'll be at my house between 10 am and noon. I raced home to meet him, he did the measurement and couldn't provide me with any options. He said the store would call me tomorrow with a quote. He looked like a deer caught in headlights when I would ask him questions. Ok no big deal, but the next day comes and I don't get a call. The following day I call the local store, was told I had to speak to the General Flooring Customer Service, and was given an 800 number. I call the 800 number, and the first girl on the phone was confused why I wasn't given options or quotes at time of measurement (SIGH). I told her I already had samples from the store and a laminate in mind.
My concern was there was a difference in price from the store versus online for the same laminate, by the case. I was transferred to another salesman, Rodney. I asked him if I could purchase the cases myself and just pay for install, and was told no. Then he came back with a quote of $2100 with more expensive moulding and underlayment than what I had found from Home Depot, in my own searches. He told me it was not negotiable and the installers were going to use the underlayment he quoted me. He added in "floor removal fee" even though I explained to him I was not removing my current floors.
He also said the labor was $1.99 per square foot. I asked him why I saw $0.89 advertised and was told, "Oh that's only if you are doing a project with 250+ square feet, and with a floor choice worth at least $1.50 per square foot." I told him the laminate I found is $1.50 per square foot and my total square footage is 264. Rodney had nothing of value to say in response, was unwilling to change the quote. Also, he could not explain to me why I was not allowed to work out the underlayment product selection WITH the Flooring Department, and did not understand why I was frustrated given no one from Sales had been inside my house and were quoting me BS pricing off a computer. When I told him I was frustrated and felt like HD was just trying to upsell everything, he didn't respond.
I told him I was not going to do business with them at $2100 and he said, "Ok so is there anything else I can help you with?" That was when I told him how much the customer service has sucked, and people expect more, especially for a $35 fee just to measure. There was another awkward 20 seconds of silence then he just asked again if there was anything more he could help me with. At that point I hung up. Obviously, HD does not want your business or to work out a fair price. The sales people are robots following a script. My advice, go with a local flooring company or contractor. Don't waste your money or time with HD and their incompetent staff!

My husband and I recently retired, found our dream home in Milford PA and moved from NY. Money is tight and our dream home was going to need a little work. To the tune of a total gut and renovate. We were shopping in the Home Depot and noticed an opened box of hardwood flooring along with another 9 unopened. The opened box of wood was just what we were looking for and it looked great. We needed about 1700 square feet which equaled to another 65 or so boxes. We loaded up the 10 on the floor, were instructed to leave the other boxes closed so they could acclimate to the house. We were getting ready to install what we had, opened the boxes and discovered chipped, cracked and splintering junk.
We immediately cancelled the rest of the order and were hit with an almost $1000 restocking fee for wood we never got. I have tried talking with their customer service regarding this excessive amount and they just kick it back to the store where we purchased it. I also tried to fight it with my credit card Chase. They were of no help because I have a receipt that I bought the wood. (Again, never had it delivered). Even though I lost a lot of money, it would have cost me a lot more to fix the prefinished wood I thought I was buying.
If you are in the market for wood flooring, go to a wood flooring store. A thousand dollars was a lot for us to lose... Should you find yourself in the same position as us, this is how they get around keeping a restocking fee. They give you your money back on the card, minus a restocking fee they issue to themselves as cash. Do not sign for that refund. Good luck to all that are as dumb as we were to make a major purchase from them. They beat us out of almost $1000, but lost kitchen cabinet order, 2 complete bathroom orders, windows, tiles, basement etc. All of which I then purchased from Lowe's... I would not buy a nail from the Home Depot.

The job was incomplete. They left a mess. They stated three times that they would come back to finish but never did. You have no leverage because they want to get paid in full up front. Do not use Home Depot. You will regret it.

We are preparing a room for a seriously ill cancer patient. We asked for expedited shipping to the store for the flooring... We offered to pay anything. We only asked to please hurry the order and the processing at the store. The manufacturer said they would. Home Depot said, "No chance." The store is impossible to reach just to ask if it was there so we could prepare a contractor to install. No help. We should have gone anywhere else.

Yeah so free is not free. When you see the sign that says "FREE Install" walk away. Get your own installer. The racket is yes the "Carpet" is free not the pad and install just the carpet. So you have to use an upgraded pad at an upgraded price for your "Free Install" for warranty purposes. Never ever doing this again. Home Depot lost all of my business. That may seem small to them but Don't mislead people. So my free install is costing me $261.00. Not so free.

I was very pleased with my Cooper carpets installation. I would certainly use Home Depot and Cooper install again. I'm thinking about doing future project and I hope that I get Mr. **. He was professional and worked extremely hard. Not one time did he complain, he didn't even take a break for lunch. I was impressed. He cleaned up as if he took pride in what he does and for that reason alone I gave them 5 stars.

Went the Home Depot in Lake Elsinore, Ca. for flooring and countertops. Never again after our order has been placed the night mere started, you are treated as you are a professional and that now you know all about flooring after see them. If I did I would not have gone to them to do, I would have done it myself. We had an appointment at 2:00 pm as suggested so we did not have to wait. WE were there early. Lori who we had an appointment with was busy with someone else. She motioned to us be with us in a minute. One hr. later we were still standing there. She made no attempt to have someone else help us so we went to another sales person. Did all our picks, wrote the order which took time. Lori was still helping the people 1 and 1/2 hrs. after our appointment time. Shortly after that we got to see her for the countertops. The people that she was working with during our time bought nothing.
You work up a price with Home Depot then it goes to the contractor and then the price went up THREE TIMES. They disconnect, just call a contractor who will come out and look at the job and give you the price. The contractor has not been to look at the job and when he comes to install, the price will go up again. For thing that he did not see in the pictures that Home Depot took.
I have talked to the flooring contractor and they have told me this will happen. This would not have happened if Home Depot was not involved. This is a rental property and would like to get the work done on time to rent that is not going to happen, one reasons is that Lori did not send in the paperwork for three weeks to the contractor, I had to call to find out what was going on. We were told the contact would be email to me, never happened. I keep calling for the contact never came. The flooring contractor keep asking me to look at the contact from Nov. of 2016 so I drove the 40 miles to this store because this is where the rental is to get the contact on 1 - 26 - 2017 this job will be done in Feb. of 17 unbelievable, and then it did not get better. HOME DEPOT NO MORE.

Ordered six cases of bamboo floor. Received an email saying the floor was shipped to the store. Called the store and was told that no floor was received. Called online customer service and was told that the floor was there. Store receiving rep told me to go to the warehouse. In short all I got was HUGE runaround and no one knows or seems to care. Now it's going to be another 10 days to get floor. This company has lost all sense of customer service and when you talk to customer service you will not be able to speak to a manager. The store manager won't care cause you are a online customer and they are just the drop ship point so they have no incentive to help.

I have to say the experience of the purchase of carpet and padding was fine. It stops there. The day of installation was downhill from that point. The installers showed up right at the end of the window. We were given 1 pm. They left at 9 pm that night. Our new carpet and padding was placed in a old beat up van under old carpets and padding from a previous job they did. Totally infested with bed bugs. They did not cut the carpet correctly on the staircase and filled in the spaces with scrap carpeting. They placed their tool box on my father's desk and scratched it. They broken a door hook on my bedroom door, they left 3 doors off their hinges, they nailed down a floor vent in my bedroom using roofing nails and I cut my foot on the nails. They left the old padding in my bedroom and placed the new padding and carpet over the old one. They did not install padding in my closets I had paid for.
I contacted the installation department manager when the installers were still at my house. He was extremely rude and vulgar. I attempted to call the manager at the Home Depot in Warwick RI where I made my purchase and was told I had to deal with the installation company they hired to do the job. After waiting for a response for many weeks I contacted corporate office in Atlanta GA. Finally got to speak with Angela. She was able to get the new manager of the installation company to come out to my home and look things over. The new manager shared with me that he replaced the old manager due to many dissatisfied customers and complaints. We came to an agreement to at least replacement of the staircase carpet and padding in the closets and very little reimbursement towards the bed bug issues caused by them.
The day the installers returned the refused to do the work and left. I contacted my husband at the law office he worked for and they contacted the manager of the installation company and Angela at corporate office of Home Depot. A week later we received a letter from Angela basically stating they are not responsible for infestation of bed bugs. They may consider returning to fix the carpet on the stairs and padding in the closets. But we will need to pay the thousands of dollars for the extermination of bed bugs out of our pockets. Funny not quite the bargain we were shopping for.
So the $3,300.00 we paid for the carpet and padding is going to cost us and additional $4,000.00 for the whole house extermination. Two days wages lost, a hotel room for my handicap Mother and handicap father to stay at, and to board my pets so they will not die from the chemicals the exterminator will spray all over my home and everything we own. It looks like we may have to take Home Depot to Court. If you love to throw away money, love stress, and abhor bed bugs then Home Depot is the place for you.

We decided to list our home for sale and one of the first things we did was go to Home Depot for new carpet for our hallway and an attached room (about 300 square feet). We purposely chose the 72 hour carpet because we wanted to get the house on the market as quickly as possible. The area was measured the next day. Within hours we received a call with the measurements and we paid immediately. The installers called shortly after and we arranged installation for a Wednesday. The installers told us to pull up our old carpet and leave the tack strips – which we did. We received confirmations twice. We also signed our listing agreement and the listing was to go live the day following the install. A professional photographer was scheduled for two days following the promised installation date and open houses were advertised for that first weekend. The night before the installation was scheduled, the installers called to say my carpet was 'lost' and they had to track it.
I didn't hear back from anyone so I called the next day and was told my carpet was 'back ordered'. We immediately contacted Home Depot who said they would look into it. The next day (2 days post promised delivery) we contacted the installer again who said they 'found' my carpet but could not schedule appointments because their systems were down. We again contacted Home Depot but they were unable to assist. Our installation was scheduled for the Monday following open house – but by then we had an appointment for a showing at 3. The installer stated they would arrive between 10 and 12 that day. I told them that with a 3 pm appointment that might not be enough time... the installer assured me that it was. I worked from home the day of installation so I wasn't watching how the carpet went in. The installer told me there would be a small seam 6 inches from the master bedroom doorway and he assured me that it would not be noticeable.
The installation ran all the way to 2:59 pm. I called the installation company immediately upon leaving and told them we had run all the way up to the last minute and I didn't have time to look at it. The installation company stated there was a lifetime warranty on installation only... We had 2 showings that afternoon and when we were finally able to get back into the house we saw that there was not one seam but six – some obvious. There is also glue on the freshly painted baseboards. We immediately drove to the store where we purchased the carpet and spoke to the store manager. She showed us the original plan for how the carpet was to have been installed which was nothing like what we got. She stated she would escalate the issue and it has been almost an entire work week and we can't get anyone on the phone except customer care and we can't get a return call.
I just spoke to customer care (yet again) and they stated that the installer stated the original plan was for 6 seams – which is an outright lie. At this point the carpet has to come up and be re-installed the right way. We are also asking that our installation fee be refunded because the product was not delivered as promised and when it finally was, it was installed incorrectly. The home is for sale and we also feel that the delays may have cost us a sale as the house would not have shown as well with the carpet pulled up.

We had Pergo Flooring installed by Home Depot. They subcontract Superior Installations Corporation of IL. Located out of Chicago, they proved to be one of the very worse companies our family has ever dealt with. They took 2.5 months to install flooring in the St. Louis area. Throughout the process their staff consistently lied and provided excuses for not installing. We even had an outside professional check their criteria for accuracy. When Home Depot would step in they would jump to attempt to correct. They finally sent multiple crews to our area once caught up in their lies by Home Depot.
I cannot caution you enough about using this combination for flooring. Long after the taste of sweet pricing from Home Depot, the bitterness of poor service and complete deceit by Superior Installations Corporation of IL staff still exists in our family. There is one day in months that we haven't been reminded of how horrible our experience really was. Doing business with Superior, our recommendation to you... Just don't do it.
