I own a Gardening Business in Long Island, NY. I sent a very expensive self propelled mower into repairs and rental at the Coram Location. Me and the gentlemen at repairs figured out, quickly and at first the problem. "It's likely the Carburetor and it should take a week." He says and I totally agreed. A week to date later! I call the department and they say, "No one's even looked at it, repair guy is on vacation!" I respond, "Aren't you guys supposed to notify me about something like that? I could have already fixed it myself, or had it fixed anywhere else. I already paid. I have the Receipt and Repair Invoice!" No word on my mower. In fact the associate on the phone was beginning to get defensive totally, and decided to just hang up on me, while still in possession of my broken ignore lawnmower, almost certainly broken now. It just needed a new carburetor! So not only do I call Corporate I don't feel like my stuff is safe with them any longer.

The Assistant Manager quickly follows up too, with no plan, nor apparent knowledge on how to fix, or handle the situation in any capacity. He says the same thing as the Repair guy, only more politely. Basically No One knows anything. "Monday they can look at it", he says. I need this b Lawnmower to make money, it is a part of my business. IT BOTH COST AND LOST ME BOTH TIME AND MONEY DOING BUSINESS WITH HOME DEPOT. So I talked to an Associate, Assistant Manager, and Corporate Twice!!! And NOTHING IS RESOLVED!

I purchased a 7 piece dining set and a conversation set that had a table, a 2 person love seat and 2 chairs. Both sets began to rust after a short period of time. They were hardly used and well protected from the elements. I went to Home Depot with photos and copies of bills of sale to validate the time frame that these products began to rust out. All Home Depot said was that it was up to Hampton Bay to honor any warranty or defective workmanship. My items are on a covered screened in lanai and did not get slammed with rain at all, I tried to get the items replaced or refunded.

I was amazed at how weak Home Depot was in handling this situation. I was a big box retail executive for many years and if I had a vendor with the type of product that was being manufactured by Hampton Bay they would not be a vendor anymore. This brand makes Home Depot look bad and the customer service was pathetic from such a big company. Bottom line is after getting the run around for a couple of weeks I am stuck with two patio sets that have rusted frames. Way to go Home Depot. Thanks for the total pathetic service.

On July 31, ordered a kitchen sink. August 8th I received a yellow chair. It was a school desk type chair. Surprise, I call local Home Depot, which directed me to customer service, which transfer me to order department. I glad I got direct phone number as they hung up on me (before we even talked). Finally after several minutes, I talked to Rhonda. Rhonda was able to call UPS and have them pick up the chair. She did say that it was UPS error???? Right. It was addressed to me with my address. Nevertheless, She did credit my credit card for the entire price, and put in a reorder.

Then I had to paid for the order of the sink again, which I had order first, Hopefully same sink model. Now here is the disturbing part. My credit takes 3-5 days, but they got their money last night, Not my fault they cannot tell the different from a school chair (approx 18"x18" sq. size) and a double wide kitchen sink (approx. 25"x36"x10"). Really???? Is that fair. I am out $** for 3-5 days.

Let me start by saying, that I usually love Home Depot. I purchased a water heater through Home Depot some years ago that came with an extended warranty for the life of the product. When it went bad, I was directed to Assurant Warranty Co.'s phone number. Two weeks later, after numerous calls to Assurant, which I have documented with date and times, I'm told there is only one, ONE service provider in my area - I'm just outside of Chicago in a very busy town! I've tried to contact this provider 5 times now with no response from them. Assurant tells me that I will have to find my own provider, pay for the repair/replacement and then submit it to them if this service provider does not show up or contact me. How is this customer service?? What kind of warranty is this HOME DEPOT????

Looking at my receipt, it doesn't mention anywhere which warranty company will be used or these details of trying to find a person to even come out to look at this water heater! I would like to think that these two Companies are not out there to simply take people's money and not provide the service! The bottom line is that I purchased this product at Home Depot with a promise to fix this water heater for as long as I owned my home. So where is the service now? I do not want to hear, that's not our problem anymore! Home Depot contracted with this warranty provider for these repairs!

We bought a 9 x 48 porcelain flooring tile for our daughter's condo in downtown Phoenix from Zack at store #472 N Scottsdale. Cameron also helped with the order. Both were very professionally and went the extra mile to help us. As fate would have it we fell in love with a tile that was being discontinued. Half of the order had to be transferred from store #468 Thunderbird and Anthony from that store really went the extra mile to help us too. The delivery and order got a little mixed up as to who would be delivering it. Not to worry, Zack and Cameron rose to the occasion and personally picked up the tile from Thunderbird and delivered the tile to Downtown Phoenix in 114 degree weather and unloaded the heavy items themselves. That is SERVICE EXTRAORDINARY.!! We appreciate both of you more than words can express. THANK YOU ZACK AND CAMERON FROM HOME DEPOT #472 N SCOTTSDALE!!! Terri and Carlos

Home Depot in Tumwater, Olympia. Paint lid came off in my 2018 Chevy Silverado truck bed. Paint all over including under carriage and paint on my driveway. Went to Home Depot and manager who was very pleasant assisted me by filing a complaint on my behalf. Was contacted by a claims adjuster. I explained the incident and stated it took my wife and me 11 1/2 hours to clean mess. In his attempt to settle he stated federal minimum wage was $7.25 per hour and offered $250 as well as stated "take it or leave leave it." I further explained to him that their loading people loaded approximately 200 gallons of paint for my wife. He stated she should have secured the paint. I have received a check for $250 and by accepting it I would release all claims against home depot. I do have pictures. My complaint is not against home depot or the manager but the claims adjuster needs to improve his communication skills and needs a reprimand.

Just want to let people know that I had the best experience at Home Depot in Modesto CA on Hatch Road with a person that works in the flooring department named Genesis. After being told by an employee that they don't stock bullnose for the tile I have purchase there (Marazzi Vita Elegante) Genesis took time and researched to see if they stock it and found that they did, it took us a while to find them, cause there were only half of what I needed and they were mixed in with others. She then proceeded to see if any stores nearby had them in stock and of course the other Home Depot did. Genesis, a very bubbly personality, very easy going and carefree. Took time to help me. I wish more employees were like her. Genesis step up and ran with it, very happy for her service. Thank you.

Followed shipping online, the the progress just stopped. Called store and they said they don't know what happened. With no apology they ordered another one scheduled for delivery on July 25. I watched the shipping and the date kept on being extended. Cancelled the order and got the barbecue elsewhere in 4 days. Ordered Materials with expedited delivery online. The materials were not delivered and the installers wasted their day. Home Depot acknowledge the order was in but don't know what happened.

Recently my daughter contracted with @homedepot to remove her kitchen countertops and replace with new solid surface tops. Apparently they subcontracted the work to a local contractor. The removal of the existing time went fine and they cleaned up before leaving the site. My daughter left town for a few days and had a friend stay at her house. When the friend last night there was water on her new wood floors and inside the sink cabinet. I received a frantic call for help. I found the angle stop valves had not been called and the drain line also left uncapped. This is plumbing 101 if one is properly trained which this contractor is obviously not. When my daughter called Home Depot and left a message she received no call back (what a surprise). @Home Depot is again concerned with the bottom line and not customer service. STAY AWAY FROM CONTRACTING WITH HOME DEPOT.

It is clear that we received a grill that was previously purchased and returned to the store because of the damage. I truly believe that Home Depot knowingly tried to unload a damaged product on us. We recently purchased an entire suite of LG appliances from Home Depot for our new home. I originally wanted to purchase the same appliances from Lowe’s but a few were out of stock so we decided to go with Home Depot as all items we wanted showed in stock – HUGE MISTAKE!!!! I opened a credit card to utilize the zero interest option on the purchase. Please note that this was a fairly large purchase totaling almost $7,000 which included a fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. A few days before the scheduled delivery, I received a phone call from LG notifying me that all of a sudden, the dishwasher we ordered wasn’t in stock. Wasn’t in stock? We already purchased the appliances on the credit card and they were scheduled for delivery for over a month. Do you know what you can’t get on a brand new home without appliances – A certificate of Occupancy.

Frantically, we returned the call from LG only to be advised they had no dealings with the delivery so we were advised to call Home Depot. After calling, we figured it would be easier to go directly into the store and speak to someone about switching out the Dishwasher so that the rest of the appliances could be delivered on time as originally scheduled. It was a full three hour ordeal but we were assured the appliances would all arrive as originally scheduled. The only downfall was we had to downgrade the dishwasher to a model that was “in stock” – not as if that means anything at Home Depot.

Fast forward to delivery day. I had a delivery window of 11AM to 3PM. After sitting at the house all day, the delivery shows up at close to 5PM. The downgraded dishwasher was rolled in and the installation team immediately refused to install the dishwasher. Something about a blind corner cabinet in the kitchen. Mind you, we installed it ourselves later and it was very simple so I will never fully understand the policy. But upon refusing to install, the delivery crew just dumped the dishwasher in my dining room and begin to leave. When I inquired about the rest of my appliances, they told me that other three items were not scheduled until the following week.

Long story short, I got a downgraded dishwasher. Home Depot refused to install said dishwasher and scratched my brand new hardwood floors pushing it into the dining room. My appliances all came late anyway so the downgraded dishwasher wasn’t even worth the hassle. Certificate of occupancy was delayed thanks to Home Depot’s incompetence. Forced to reschedule the movers. A lot of the above had fees associated with the changes. Now comes the fun part. Home Depot offered us $150 for our troubles. 150 big ones for almost $7,000 in purchases. That doesn’t even cover taxes on a single appliance. The customer service has been the worst I have ever endured and I can assure you this credit card is getting cancelled and Home Depot has lost an entire family of customers for life.

I'll be sure to leave a review with the BBB and any other consumer watchdog group out there as well. At 2am on Aug 1, 2019 my freezer on my refrigerator went out so at about 2:30 am I found and purchased an upright freezer unit. As I was checking out it gave a notice that if I paid an extra $55 I could get the unit in the same day. At about 2pm Aug 1 I checked the status of my order to find out the order had neither processed or shipped. When I called customer service the representative told me that it would be impossible to ship it the same day despite the offer, So after she SUPPOSEDLY talked to a supv. she let me know that she was authorized to give me a 15% discount on the order. she then let me know that $22.39 would be returned to my AMEX card. I don't know who taught her math but $22.39 is not 15% of $265.85. I am done with home depot and I'll be letting others know about their crappy guarantees and crappy customer service.

This is all mumbo jumbo, we live on a pass through street, no road work in any direction and nothing blocking our entrance. After that it seems that OnTrac (Home Depot's logistics partner) lost track of our package and now they can't find it. And Home Depot had some policy that says that we'll have to wait 8 days before we'd can be reimbursed or get a replacement. The home depot customer support is a joke (you get better and more accurate info if you bypass them and contact OnTrac directly). No wonder Amazon is killing the online competition!

Purchased a 'Tuff Shed' from the local Home Depot at Mt. Moriah Road in Durham, NC. Handled the design and purchase online and by phone with a Tuff Shed Customer Service Manager, on 7/29/19. Total cost of the purchase was approximately $3,700 which included North Carolina tax. At the close of the discussion he told me (Ricky ** from Tuff Shed) that the entire purchase price would be charged to my credit card at that time and installation would be approximately 6 weeks from date of purchase. I asked why the entire amount and he said because Home Depot 'wants their money' upfront. I asked why there wasn't a deposit requirement with balance due prior to installation and he said because Home Depot required their money before anything was built.

I was given the name of the Home Depot Manager at the Mt. Moriah road store in Durham, Mr. Jonathan **. I called him and He told me there is nothing that he could do and continued to tell me that customers making major purchases would be required to pay the entire purchase value AT time of purchase. Not a deposit or pay as services are provided, rather...the entire amount at time of contract/agreement/purchase. It is simply hard to believe that someone can purchase/order a new car for thousands of dollars, provide credit approval at time of order and not have to pay the total cost of the vehicle until the vehicle is delivered and customer takes possession and the bank forwards the funds to the dealership.

Home Depot, clearly, doesn't have the customer in mind, rather, 'get the cash and to hell with the customer'. Think, if you are in the market for a similar purchase, several thousand dollars, either find a vendor who will accept a deposit with balance paid at delivery or look for a different supplier/vendor. Home Depot is interested only in their profits. Good luck. **

Well I call them at 5:30 and said that my delivery was still not here. They said it was on the truck and on the way. I check tracking again 5 minutes to 6 and the delivery date was changed to two day later when I was at work. I sold all of my old appliances and had no appliances thinking my new ones where going to be delivered. I call the manager of the store and he said there is nothing I can do that the delivery company will be contacting you. And I ask him why was the delivery date changed and he said I don’t know why. He was rude and just didn’t care. They don’t even have there on delivery people like Lowe’s does. So I highly recommend you not to use them. I provided a review to Home Depot regarding their generic bleach which was rejected because I mentioned competitors. I reworded and resubmitted, also rejected. They do not allow comments on price increases or changes in bulk buying. Here is the rejected verbiage: First time I mentioned Lowe's and Dollar stores where bleach products could often be found at a lower price. I also mentioned they had a recent 40% price increase on the product and eliminate the bulk discount for box of 6 gallons. They did not like those comments.

Second time this verbiage was flagged as inappropriate. "Price on this bleach has gone up dramatically in past year, around 40%. It used to be a very good value but now priced like all other retail stores. Quality is good but I found equivalent for less elsewhere. Home Depot also dropped the bulk buy price for a case of 6." So no "review" of the store or prices is appropriate. So beware. Home Depot pricing is not necessarily competitive or the best deal and you will not see that in the customer reviews nor will you see negative reviews of the lack of customer service, lack of stock, or difficulty in finding products in store.

I've been waiting for items I ordered thru Home Depot to be delivered (Deck lattice specifically). Home Depot should be ashamed for partnering with this delivery service. My delivery date was July 8th. July 10th: Home Depot stated that they have to transfer the items to go out for delivery, so someone will call me within 24-48hrs to tell me the delivery time (note: it is July 19th and not one call from Home Depot or Estes). July 11th: Estes tracking updates, "Out for Delivery by end of day". NOTE- every day now, the tracking has updated with a new "Out for Delivery & the date I check", yet nothing has been delivered. July 18th: I'm fed up and make my case to Home Depot that this is beyond unacceptable at this point. They say Estes promised the delivery will be by end of the day and they'll call me to confirm. Guess what? No delivery and no call. Are you kidding me?

July 19th: Present day. Promise they'll locate it and update me this morning. Currently 2;30pm. No update, no call, and no one can get in touch with Estes. Estes says 'they can only email the delivery team - not able to call'. It's almost unbelievable at this point. I strongly advise to steer as far from this company as possible, specifically this Estes location. Also if you plan to partner with them to handle your deliveries, then plan to lose customers, like Home Depot just did with me. I don't know if I will actually get my items. I can't believe I ordered items on June 28th and I still do now have them on July 19th. Please reconsider ordering for delivery if a fee is involved (that means it is going to this outside delivery company and you are at their will).

I'm an office manager for a restoration company. Employees have company credit cards which I reconcile the statements for each month. An amount from the Richmond KY Home Depot was on the credit card statement. The purchaser had no clue what item may have been purchased and could not find a receipt. I called customer service and was shut down immediately. He kept repeating he could give me no information for security purposes. He wouldn't even look it up. I have called before and treated well, being told they could not fax or email the receipt but the purchaser can pick it up and they'd have it ready. When I told him this he replied they shouldn't have. Sounds to me they have a lazy manager/customer service personnel. I spoke to my boss about it and he is going to the store to get the receipt. So if mysterious purchases pop up on your credit card you are most likely going to get a hassle.

I had close to $700 in merchandise I wanted to buy at Home Depot. I saw the offer for their credit card and it stated that if I placed a single order for at least $1,000, I would receive a $100 discount off my order. I added $300 more to my order which made the total $1,004. I applied online for their credit card during the process and once I was approved I proceeded to make the purchase. Prior on placing the order I verified they had given me the $100 credit, so I placed the order.

After the order was placed, Home Depot separated my single order into 3 parts because they did not have everything I ordered in stock at their store for pickup. I had to make three 35 minute trips to their store to pick up my entire order. The only reason they split my order up was for accounting purposes.

Everything I ordered was under the one original order number. That was the requirement to receive the $100 credit. You had to place one order which totaled at least $1,000. Anything below that and you would only qualify for a $25 credit. After Home Depot split my order into 3 parts, my $100 credit disappeared entirely. When I contacted their customer support, they told me I didn't receive the $100 credit because they didn't have all the items I ordered in stock at their store. That was not a requirement! Everything was ordered at the same time under one order number.

In my opinion they were clearly trying to avoid giving me the credit I was entitled to. To further prove my point, they never applied a $25 credit which makes their lame excuse appear more like an outright lie. I copied and pasted what they have written on their website regarding the requirements for the $100 credit as well as the link to the page where I read the information, and they never responded after that.

I've never encountered such a blatant attempt to deprive me of something I clearly qualified for. I will obviously never buy anything from them again, so I don't know what they thought they would gain by doing this. Fortunately, I have a Lowe's and another home improvement store in the area I can shop at instead and that's what I intend to do.

I thought Home Depot was a great national wide company with good supplies, although someone said their customer service was not good, but I was completely wrong! For our new home improvement project, we purchased almost 10K products from Home Depot, either online or from local stores, including over 5K hardwood floors on 7/9. It was set up for home delivery Sat 7/13, 6am – 8 pm. Until late Friday evening, no phone calls from Home Depot so I called to check the delivery schedule.

Their customer service said everything’s fine and on schedule. Hence, we spent a few hours waiting on Sat but no one called nor showed up, so we called the local store and was told their system hadn’t had the correct information when I put my order (they actually ran out of stock already). They already sent my order to another store (which we later found didn’t have that many in stock either). Per the notes in their system, their customer services supposed to call us for this change, but they didn’t. This’s just the beginning of our nightmare.

We went to another local store, they said they have that product in stock but not as many as we need, but they found a brother store which has the remaining ones. They set up the same day delivery after a 3-hour long waiting and checking. However, when the delivery crew reached our house, we found 1/3 of the hardwood floor was in a different color, and that’s all what they have. We called two other Home Depot stores. They promised to call back but never did. The delivery crew left 16 boxes of hardwood floor in our house and took the remaining away. As a result, we had to go back to the local store again. Another round of hours of conversation.

Finally when we got really exhausted (after spending almost 8 hours at Home Depot) we asked for a refund. Guess what, we were told that we had to take the hardwood floor back on our own cost, or we had to take another day off work so that they can pick up at our house, another day off work because of their error, no apologies or compensation. Thanks for Home Depot! All we got is an almost 10-day delay in our home improvement project, and we need to shop around for the hardwood floor again, and need to rearrange our contractors schedule, plus we need to pay additional rent and storage cost for furniture. NEVER BUY ANYTHING CRITICAL FROM HOME DEPOT!!!

I went to Home Depot today to make a return of a Whynter 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. The unit is in excellent shape as it has not been open or used. It is still in the original packaging. However, my return is 1 year and 1 to 2 days old. So, 366–367 days old. I did purchase the item on July 4th, 2018. It arrived on my doorstep in Fayetteville, WV sometime between the dates of July 11–July 13 2018. We could even say the item is 1 year and 8 days old. On Home Depot’s return policy website, it states, “Be 100% happy with your purchase or we’ll take it back. No problem.” In addition, it states, “Free, fast and easy returns to any store or online.” I do understand the return policy. The policy is for 30, 90 or 365 days depending on item and other rules. I purchased two of these units and only used one unit. I forgot about the other unit.

I help run a small construction company in Fayetteville, WV. The store I attempted to return the item to is located in South Charleston, WV. About a 2 hour drive from my home town. I spend between $100,000 to $200,000 on goods used for my business at Lowe's yearly. Although we do not have a Home Depot in Fayetteville, I do imagine there will be one there one day. I will not forget the customer service I received from this company. Lowe's would have a happily taken the product back. Perhaps, that is because we know everyone that works at our Lowe's. Perhaps, because it is the right thing to do.

The customer service I received at Home Depot was not terrible, but it was not perfect either. We could have come to a solution or compromise. Instead, it was a flat no and “sorry.” I was not trying to pull one over on the company. I am a small business owner and life happens. Companies are not perfect because they are run by people. As a business owner, I always put customer’s firsts even if that means losing money on the job. There are always exceptions to the rule. We could have come to a number of solutions such as a gift card or return of 75% of value. The company could have resold the item. I know this because they resale other merchandise such as special orders on the floor. In the end, Home Depot fell short on customer service today. It was “a problem” and it was not “fast or easy.” Clearly, Lowe's has the edge on customer service and we will continue to shop at Lowe's.

Due to the size (72" long) and weight (over 500 lbs.) we arranged to have it delivered and placed in his garage in time for his Birthday celebration. HD told her the delivery date would be 7/11/19 and that they would call in the morning to provide a delivery window.

My daughter-in-law who is a store manager in a large retail chain took the day off from work to receive the delivery. After several calls and waiting until after 4pm to receive a reply, she was told there would be no delivery as the truck had broken down. Her day was lost (she now needs to take another day off) and the surprise was ruined.

Yes, things happen, but where is Customer Service to keep those affected informed? HD also tried to shift blame to the third party delivery company, but HD is sill accountable!!! To add insult, instead of guaranteeing an early morning delivery due to the inconvenience, it was just business as usual, “We'll call you in the morning to arrange a time.” My son was expecting to be clearing up his garage with this chest and has no idea if he also wasted a day off work. Horrible service and even worse handling of the situation. I'm a HD Pro member and have a Lowe's much closer to my home. Maybe time to reconsider where I take my business.

The representative confirmed both date and time and also told us that we will receive a 30 min call from the delivery guys before they arrive. We waited for our delivery within the given time frame but no call and no show, you'd think that someone should have called us to apologise and explain why they wasted our time and messed up our entire day but nobody called. so we called home Depot to see what's going on with our chest freezer and when they called the delivery dept they had so much illegitimate and confusing excuses.

One of their lame excuses was the manufacture did not deliver the freezer to them on time in order for them (delivery guys) to delivered it to us on Thursday 27th. LIES, LIES, LIES. When the customer service representative contacted the manufacture they confirmed in the system that the chest freezer was delivered to the delivery company on time and when the delivery company was again confronted they changed their excuses and said they had some electrical issues so that caused them to not be able to make it for the delivery. We asked them that if this was true why didn't they call to let us know but of course they could not give an answer. They then went ahead and said they can make the next delivery on Tuesday July 2nd between 4pm-8pm. You'd think this time they'll deliver and will show up on time to make things right but Nooo! Nobody showed up and no call as well.

We called them several times on the day of delivery to make sure they're coming and the customer service told us they will be there to deliver the chest freezer. Nobody called and no show up again, at this point we were all frustrated and so disappointed and tired so we just called the the next day on the 3rd and cancelled our purchase and requested for a refund. Home Depot does not care about their customers experience so they'll always loose customers and sales. I hope they wake up from their sleep and restructure their company and their outsourcing delivery company they give business to. Their competitors will always be on top. Mariam

We bought this stone for a wall in our kitchen. I had 48 sheets of tile delivered to my home. After going through all 48 sheets, I found that all had broken pieces except for 2. I took all of the boxes back to Home Depot and we went through around 15 sheets they had in the store at one location only to find that they were all broken there. I requested a refund because this was the tile that we liked and did not see anything else we wanted from Home Depot. However, they only would give me an in store credit, which is not the refund that I asked for and was not fair because they can't seem to provide me with tile that is not damaged.

To prove this point, since we had no choice but to use their "in store credit", we spent time looking through more tiles to find something we could live with. We found another one and we found that at their north store, they had about 7 sheets of the tile we decided to go with and they were all broken. We went clear over to their south store and after going through about 42 sheets of tile they had in stock, all but 4 of them were broken. Once again, the 2nd tile option we selected was all damaged.

When I went back to the north store to talk to the manager, they still insisted that they cannot give me a refund, especially after they already gave me an in store credit, which I never asked for. So here's the kicker.... I'm stuck with this $770 credit that they tell me I have and I have to use. We spent a lot of time trying to find a tile we could get using the credit, even though we really wanted to go somewhere else to get the tile. We found something and when asking Home Depot if we could pay to have their installers install the tile, they said that the tile we selected is a tile that their installers will not install. Something we were looking forward turned into such a bad experience we no longer want to install tile in our kitchen.

I received a 6.5 18 volt Ridgid saw as a gift. After a few years of HOME USE the saw will stop and then start again. I decided to take it in for whatever repairs it needed and a few weeks went by when I received a call from Home Depot claiming that the saw was unrepairable due to lack of obtaining parts. Home Depot did not offer any compensation as in form of discount or voucher. This tactic has become more common in business lately promising a warranty that does not exist just to make sales. So my advice don't buy any Ridgid product because of the warranty as I have. Last year I purchased a $700 saw and now worried that the same thing will happen when it starts to give me problems.

I bought this paint because I was told this was Home Depot's best paint. It also says it has a guarantee of one coat coverage. Not so much! If this is Home Depot's best paint at over $40 per gallon, I'd sure hate to get the less expensive paint! It was runny, drippy, and just much thinner than better paints I have used. It needed two coats of medium pink to cover a pale green that was almost white. As for the one coat guarantee, when you read the fine print it is only applicable to certain paint colors made by the Marquee brand. Not exactly truth in advertising. As I look at the two coats today, it could really use a third coat in many areas, as I can see it is darker where I trimmed it in. The smell....After seven days it still stinks! Our granddaughter couldn't sleep in the room at all on the one night a week she stays with us. The window has been open and it just doesn't help. I will never buy paint from Home Depot again.

Made an order with Home Depot on June 3rd. I tracked my order (order #**), said it would arrive on June 12th, NEVER shows up. I track the order again, says that it will arrive on the Fri the 14th, NEVER arrives. I call Home Depot, they track down the materials at the delivery vendors location (it's local). They say that they can't get it to me until 6 more days because they don't have the proper equipment to deliver it (lift gate on their delivery truck) OR if I had a pick-up truck or a trailer she said I could come grab it myself!! I didn't pay for that!! What kind of operation is Home Depot running?

The name of this company is YRC delivery, the woman's name was Evelyn **, I said, "If you can guarantee the delivery for Thursday the 20th I won't cancel the order," she guaranteed the delivery to be at my residence on that day between 10-2. Thursday comes, NEVER shows up. I spend 2.5 hrs dealing with Home Depot. Come to find out that the incompetent company (YRC) that Home Depot subcontracted the delivery to had subcontracted it to another vendor (Mobile Air Transport) because they didn't own the proper equipment to expedite my order. Home Depot patches me in with Mobile Air Transport and the gentleman tells me that he's had my products since the 13th and had no delivery planned for me. Said he could have it to me the next day between 11-3. I said If they can't have it to me by 11 am don't bother bringing it. NEVER shows up.

Now think about the contractor that had to re- schedule how many times already to install my fencing! Home Depot never once offered any real solutions for my situation. Other than a constant barrage of broken promises and guarantees. My suggestion to future customers, DON'T ORDER FOR Homedepot.com. Save yourselves a monster headache. Dr. **. Boston, NY.

In August of 2017 we opened a Home Depot account to finance our kitchen with a 24 month no interest promotion. I calculated that if I paid $550 per month for 24 months we would have interest free charge. When the first bill arrived they only had 6 month promotion on it. I had to make several calls and request a letter granting the 24 months. In November of 2017 my husband used the account for a refrigerator and a dishwasher also with 24 months of interest free is paid by December 2019. I have religiously paid $550 a month for 2 years and would have paid off by September.

On most recent bill I noticed that they have a $4741.00 balance on my initial purchase and a $237.65 balance on my second which if the $4741 is not paid by 9/8/2019 I get hit with the interest of $1500 on top of the balance. I called and spoke to a supervisor who said that they must of paid off the later charge first and could not do anything about transferring the second purchase balance to its expiration date because they had done it previous to what they could see on their screen. I am outraged. I shop at Home Depot so often and have been religious about making the $550 payments 10 times the minimum due and the woman said there is absolutely nothing they can do and that I will be charged $5968.66 on September 8th which means I have to come up with $2000 a month. She said, "Good luck and have a nice day." Outraged! Will never step foot in that store again. Sending them my credit card in pieces!

I hired Home Depot to install new windows and siding at my home. The first time was a disaster and Home Depot had to have a second carpenter come out and remove siding and reinstall. They did not come back with matching material and installed same anyway. After numerous calls they came back and agreed that material should not have been installed. Five years later (they gave me a letter stating they would replace and repair siding and windows) they still have failed to correct problems. Windows leak and siding does not match (it was specialty order color and I paid extra for color match). I was told all along that the problem was with management because they had turnover and were dealing with internal problems. Still no one has come out to do repair, only they come out and say they will fix it and sorry it has taken so long. So my work of advice....don't go there...Get a real contractor who is licensed and will do the job.

These box store get bigger, the prices get higher and the customer service gets worse. This review focuses more on HD in Buford Georgia. On more than one occasion, I have had to chase down help and as I am asking the employee something, they continue walking. So as I'm asking something, it's like I'm still having to chase them. I had enough the day I walked up to a guy in lumber and said hello before asking him a question.

He looked at me with a bewildered look on its face and said, "What?!" I said, "How are you doing?" He said, "I going home?!" I asked my question anyway since it only required an answer from someone knowledgeable of the business. He just said, "You'll need to ask customer service" and walked away. So I walked towards customer service and straight out the door. Haven't been back since. Two and a half months ago. They've received thousands of dollars from me every year. But his attitude and the overall poorly trained employees when it comes to respecting the customer, put a stop to that.

Recently I went online to purchase a safe for my home. With other items my order came to over $1,500. When I ordered the safe realizing it weighed 613 lbs. I requested home delivery. My expectation was that it would be placed within my home in my home office. Sadly Home Depot was to either leave it at the curb or to place it in my garage. I contacted the assistant manager at the local Home Depot (Jim **) and arranged to have the safe appropriately delivered inside my home in my office. On the agreed day, the moving company did not show up so I contacted the store and spoke with another manager (Donna). Unfortunately Donna was unable to provide a solution other than they would refund my purchase or I could find someone to pick up the safe and deliver it and Home Depot would discount the purchase some undetermined amount.

I let Donna know that I did not perceive it to be my responsibility to arrange the logistics for delivery. I also clearly stated that I found it reprehensible that Home Depot would market a product that they did not have a reasonable intent to deliver in a manner that would be meaningfully usable to the customer and expect that a customer would either arrange the delivery or complete it themselves. She again offered a refund. Such sad customer service. Not wanting to give up too easily I contacted Home Depot Corporate. I spoke with Lori then Issac, the Brett. While Lori and Issac were very nice and helpful, Brett decided to fall back on Donna's lack of customer service attitude.

The end of the story is that while I was speaking with Brett and having my intelligence insulted, I was online chatting with a Lowe's representative. They happily agreed to sell me the same safe at a discount from Home Depot (for my trouble) and deliver it to my home office. Wow, who would have thought that Home Depot is intent on going the way of Scottys. At least we have Lowe's to fall back on. Ken **, Ph.D.

Nothing was ever delivered, they proceeded to tell me I was incorrect while for 24 hrs failed mention they require pictures of dropped off materials. These pictures were not existent and they finally admitted this. Did absolutely nothing about the huge need this caused me, the job I lost and much more. I then go to the other spring location and place an order scheduled for pick up a couple of days later. It was supposed to be ready today by noon. Again, paid for and everything. I call to verify my order before going to get it. I was told it was not ready at all. It was a little after noon at this point. I get up there. They do not even have the right stuff I ordered. Their documents stated 10ft. I ordered 12ft. Not even half of the amount in the store. They hung up the phone TWICE while "putting me on hold".

I got the runaround in the store when finally they placed the right order and tried to give me crap about using my military discount! Did not comp the price or do anything to fix this hassle. I had to put my job on hold for the next 3 days while I wait for my materials. I'm sure they could have called another store and had it delivered at their expense but no. Home Depot doesn't seem to want to go out of their way AT ALL for their customers. Absolutely frustrated and fed up. Twice now within one month. Rude nonhelpful employees it seems at all locations.

I was told by a representative at the general call center that a manager would be getting back to me. Meanwhile, they have an extra $9 from me and who knows how many other people. Either Home Depot is knowingly charging extra knowing that they can't meet certain expectations (to boost revenue) or the app clearly needs work. Amazon, Walmart, Lowe's, Costco... I will never deviate again. Service on phone has been kind and patient but ACTUAL SERVICE and resolution is NON-EXISTENT. Horrible, horrible experience. Do not make false promises. Lost a customer for life. (I bought my refrigerator, my stove, my dryer from Home Depot in the past; never mind my Christmas Trees, lol.) Onward...

I ordered 60 and 30 inch bathroom vanities from Home Depot online for delivery. They had to deliver two items separate. Got my 60 inch vanity today and two delivery guys were the worst delivery people ever. My driveway is quite long and it was about to rain. So I asked them to deliver it to the garage. The driver said “you only paid for a basic delivery so I will just drop it off at the curbside”. Then he said “but if you offer me something then I’ll think about it”. I asked, "What do you do if it is pouring rain?" He answered “I live it like this! I don’t care about the boxes, that last your problem. Between you and Home Depot.” in a very sarcastic way.

I didn’t want to pay him because I felt like it was wrong thing to do. So I had to drag the really heavy box in to my garage by myself and took 15 min in soaking rain. They couldn’t have been more rude and they didn’t care about anything as long as they “deliver” the box outside near the mailbox. Unless customers bribe them with money then they will think about it. I called Home Depot and spoke with a very nice representative and he apologized and will let the management of the vendor delivery company know.

The thing about this is that I only had two options of getting the vanity online. One was store pick up and the other was delivery for $75. There were no other choices such as indoor delivery. I was so pissed because if an older person orders something heavy, I wondered what they do to have them pay extra money illegally to get it move it to their garage and etc. This is horrible for Home Depot because even if they use vendors to deliver products, for customers, they are all representing Home Depot. I hope the company will get this right. Until then, I’ll let everyone know about my experience with Home Depot delivery.

Ordered cooktop. They took the funds from my account. When delivering date came and went with no delivery I called. They canceled the order and did not notify me nor return the funds. They reordered the top using the funds they already had. Delivery date came and went. I called.. Order was again canceled. Funds were not returned. Reordered, item was back ordered and have to wait for 3 weeks. 3 weeks came and went no word. I called and was told to call Bosch myself to find out why Home Depot didn't receive the stovetop for delivery. Bosch said that only Home Depot can call for status. Home Depot called and then contacted me saying that model # is now discontinued. Offer me another model and said it is more expensive but they will discount it for me.

I looked up the offers model and found that it was in fact 2 hundred dollars cheaper than what I ordered. Told Home Depot store #0503 to give me my money back today. They could not do that unless I come to their store in person or I can wait for 2 weeks for a check in the mail. They say they are very sorry but the fact is they could care less. The loss of the 2000.00 dollar order and the loss of any future business I do with them is of no consequence to them. The hassle and my time is of no more meaning to them than their smirk little apology is to me. It is a shame what big box stores have done to companies that actually cared about retaining repeat business. We only have us to blame as we always seem to gravitate to these companies. Drive on Home Depot. Let's see how many more of us you can screw. Like Sears, Kmart...your time will come and I will laugh.

They put it outside, half on some concrete bags and gravel. I found the plywood after going back inside to see where it was. Another lady and I found it outside. I had the worst service. The person stopped by that Tuesday, measured and we were contacted by Home Depot on Thursday to stop in and pick out the door. 2 weeks in. We picked out a door and hardware in stock and they told us the install would be that week. Paid $500. I called a week later on Wednesday to ask why we had not heard anything yet. I've been a Home Depot Consumer Credit Card member since 2012. On 05/27/2019 I never experienced anything quite like I did from an organization who I expected to have its departments in place to run its business effectively. I attempted to get a $50.00 gift card and a case of bottled water using my drivers license as the form to make the purchase which I have done on other occasions with absolutely no problem. Yesterday however, when the cashier attempted to run the transaction, she said it declined and was advised to call their fraud alert department to confirm my identity. She tells me, that I should be receiving a letter in the mail describing the fraud alert. I had no other credit card with me, which is why it left me in a bad situation because I need the card for gas and I was 100 miles away from home which is where Home Depot Credit Card is.

So I went outside the store after being embarrassed so that I could call customer service to ask for more details. I was told I couldn't use my license - I would have to use my Home Depot Credit Card. I told them that I have a receipt of where I have used my license before but they flat out lied and said they don't accept those type transactions and it was for my security. Now I'm outraged. I told them I appreciate fraud alert departments but I don't understand why in the hell they can't run their department effectively and resolve this issue? I asked why can't they just call me on the phone number associated with my account. I voluntarily told them the date I opened my card, my addresses, phone number update, security questions, my email, user name, password "AND" the last payment I made in the amount of April in the amount of $800.00 which cleared my balance which only the actual card member and they would know.

I was told I have to use my card because it's their policy. I put my wife on a conference call with them and asked her to provide me with my card number because she had it at home, 100 miles away. When she provided the information that I once again volunteered without them asking, they once again said they don't accept drivers license and I would need to use my store card because it's their policy. My wife interrupted and said "that can't be true because I've used my license before to make purchases on my account" (15 year card member).

Now I'm really pissed and told them not to bother sending me a letter explaining why they denied it, just close my account. While I was still venting to my wife on the other in, the fraud alert person came back to say, "Mr. John Doe your card has been closed as you requested, is there anything else I can help you with???" I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting them to say, "Sir, let me see I can do to resolve this because we value you as one of our good account members," but that wasn't the case. They are incapable of using the resources that only they and the consumer would know. So it's easier, less challenging for them to take the easy way out. Perhaps they were fill ins for Memorial Day but they lost a damn damn good customer and soon to lose another.

We are in the middle of kitchen cabinet installation contracted by Home Depot and put in the hands of the company they contract Crew2, who manages their various contractors. The product has been setting in my garage for eight weeks. Demo finally began two days ago. Day one fine - old cabinets removed. Day 2 Electrician fine job finished in a couple of hours. Day 3 plumber arrived early morning and finished his job. Contractor installer has not shown up today (vehicle Trouble). To be fair everyone I have dealt with at Home Depot and the contractors have been professional and very good at what they do. My issue is with Crew2 and their project manager. A sub-contractor with vehicle problems is not my problem until the project manager makes it my problem. It is Crew2's responsibility to get people on the job site. I have been told this is the only individual that can install my cabinets.

I as the consumer, am not concerned about who they are since they have been through Home Depot's contractor acceptance program. I am concerned when I have $27,000 of my money tied up for over 10 weeks with no results. The project manager, to this consumer, is not experienced enough to push the project to its completion, nor has the ability to manage. If I was dealing directly with contractors as I have in past projects I would not have all my money prepaid, as Home Depot requires, and I would have more control over the issue at hand. Who do I contact at Home Depot? The store tells me Crew2 is in charge. The contractors tell me Crew2 is in charge. My money - it is not in charge either because they have it!

I received a letter from Home Depot stating that my credit account will be closed if I don't use the card by July 1, 2019. I will need to use the card by July 1 for anything if it's only for light bulbs or batteries. Yesterday May 22, 2019 I received another letter stating that my account has been closed (it is not yet July 1st) for lack of use. I had intended to use the card for some minor purchase before July 1. Prior to receiving these letters, in the last month I had actually purchased tools and home remodel items costing several hundred dollars and paid for them with a debit card. I immediately called the phone number (1-877-969-3920) provided to speak to someone regarding this matter. The person that I had spoken to could not help with the account. When a manager came on the phone she stated that she could do anything. She also informed me that no one in the Home Depot organization could do anything.

She also told me that the account had actually been closed on April 23, 2019, which was several days prior to the letter that I received informing me that the account will be closed July 1, 2019. She apologized for the misinformation but the bottom line is that since the account is closed it cannot be reopened. In order to establish a new account I would have to fill out an application and start over as I did over 20 years ago. The application will of course be recorded to the credit bureaus. The hit that I will take on my credit rating will be insignificant. It is just very annoying to have to go through all of that.

Over the years I have put with a lot of things that all other customers have put up with in dealing with Home Depot. Things such as; dust and dirt that causes me to sneeze and choke, dusty and dirty items on the shelves, employees that don't know the products nor do the employees know where the products can be found. The independent contractors that are hired to install appliances that are inept at best, etc, etc, etc. This credit problem is the final straw.

I will never shop at a Home Depot again. I will inform all of my friends, relatives and business associates of this experience and urge them not to shop there anymore. Whenever I hire a contractor or laborer to work for me, that person or company will not be allowed to use goods purchased at Home Depot for the job. There are plenty of other stores to do business with such as Lowe's, Menards, Nixa Hardware etc. There are no threats here. I am simply stating facts. Home Depot has chosen not to do business with me via their credit service so I am stating that I will not do business with Home Depot at all.

The installation fee actually costs double, they said. They made vague threats about calling their employer to get a higher billing cost. I called their bluff, saying go ahead & call their boss. Then they said an extra $50 would do the trick, clearly wanting me to just hand over $50 cash. I said call to their office & get the real cost, which never happened. They froze for a bit, stalling to scam their extra $50. I said to call their office & for them to do what you have to to do to complete the installation. Get it done I said, despite their convoluted antics, drama, scams etc.

So the installation began to stumble along. The new dishwasher is different he said so the new one will call more to install. First he said the hole in the wood cabinet partition for the DW drain pipe was too small & must be expanded. Extra work=extra cost he quipped. He spent a few minutes putting a bit on a drill & then made the hole existing ~1 inch hole a little larger. That took ~5 minutes tops. Again he quipped that was more work & more cost. The DW's electrical totally baffled him for a while. The DW comes with 2 electrical kits. One kit that plugs into an electrical outlet like a fridge. The other kit is for hard wiring the DW directly into the power system, as had been the case for my old DW. He was befuddled cuz there was no ready plug in under the sink for him to simply plug in the DW. He said I would have get an additional plugin/electrical outlet added for him to simply plug in the DW.

I called his bluff asking him if he was in fact stating that I would have to employ an electrician. He waffled so I said to hard wire it in. He said he'd try, no promises, but alas that worked. At this point I got my laptop. Went to DW Bosch 800 installation instructions. Found the info on the 2 wiring kits & told him about the 2 wiring kits that come with new DW. He snapped that he had figured that out & was learning on the go. Like he leans by doing with mechanics. Conceding that he had no idea what he was doing. I could not see everything was doing cuz I was on the opposite side of the counter from where he was installing the DW.

He complained that his problems were my fault cuz I had not purchased the right DW for our kitchen. The installer said that the new DW was the short compact version & not designed for regular height kitchen cabinets which we have. Consequently, he left a gap in the between the cabinet counter top & the dishwasher below. He did not secure the DW which is loose & must be fixed. Never use Home Depot!

I will never purchase anything from Home Depot again. On March 30, 2019 I ordered a mini fridge online in Home Depot, with the assistance of the salesperson and a over the counter microwave oven and paid for installation package. The fridge was to be delivered April 2 and micro April 3, 2019. I wasn't told until late April 2, 2019 that they were unable to deliver the fridge until April 3, 2019. They were delivered by two different companies contracted by Home Depot. When the microwave was delivered, I was told the screws that came with the microwave didn't fit into the area and I would have to go purchase some that would, they would come back and install it.

I told them I couldn't do that ASAP, as I was waiting for mini fridge to be delivered. After two weeks of daily calls to Home Depot, and threatening, I was going to contact one of the TV stations in Phoenix that helps people resolve issues I was dealing with, I finally had it pick up by Home Depot and my account was credited on April 15, 2019. I ordered a microwave from someplace else April 29, 2019 and it was delivered and installed May 3, 2019 without a hitch.

All I wanted to do was return a product that I ordered online by using their courier Sameday Worldwide. It's taken me 5 days and over 2.5 hours on the phone with different people to arrange a pickup date. They always ask for "security" purposes my name and address but never once asked for my phone number, which was incorrect, and the reason the product was never picked up. Every time I called they would put me on hold to either "figure" out the problem or arrange another date. I would wait on the phone for a minimum of 20 mins and one day spent 1 hour and 21 mins for them to arrange another pickup. But because Sameday Worldwide had the wrong number they couldn't contact me. So I spent hours on the phone to figure this out.

Today May 3, 2019 I called to ask to speak to a supervisor and the guy transferred me to the survey that you do over the phone, but I wanted to speak to someone. I called back after doing the survey and said AGAIN I want to speak to the supervisor and the person on the phone put me on hold (10min) for him to come back and say we can offer you $50 gift card. I don't want a gift card. I wanted to speak to someone. But this is the mentality it seems. Give him a gift card and send him on his way. They need to fix this system, it's broken, and not user friendly.

I finally spoke with a supervisor who listened but had zero feedback other than to say, "I'm very sorry for your experience." Which every person I spoke with has said to me. Must be the first thing in the manual for them to read. I eventually called Sameday Worldwide to correct my number and they booked an appointment with me for tomorrow. It was that simple when I contacted Sameday Worldwide. Why couldn't Home Depot "customer service" do that!!

We called at 5 pm because we had dinner reservations at 8 pm and was assured that we would have it by 7 pm. The delivery was never made, and the next day we called to find out what happened. What we were told was they don't know. Now they said, "We can deliver tomorrow", now you figure that the stove is still on the truck? Nope. All trucks are out on deliveries and this call was at 8 am sharp.

We call Whitehall Home Depot and they try to have it delivered and the trucking company FSA held its ground and told that manager it could not be delivered. Now we told each party we came up from NC to have a new stove and other stuff done on the week we were here and would not be back on the day FSA trucking wanted to deliver. So we canceled the order with Home Depot and let them know we will be doing all our large orders with Lowe's. It would of been nice of FSA to call to let us know the delivery could not be made. Home Depot don't care about hiring incompetent trucking companies. Thank God for free market! Going to Lowe's.

The truck driver from NSD told me they only had one on the truck and handed me an electronic page to sign for delivery of the one cabinet. However, several days later I checked to see the delivery status for the other cabinets and it was shown they were DELIVERED!

Our local Home Depot store has been important to us forever. We rely on Home Depot for everything they offer. We built our new home in Mahwah NJ 1½ years ago and unfortunately we have had bad experiences one after the other with our local store. The most recent drove me to write this review. On April 11th we placed an order for 2 shower bases for the home we are building for our son. We received a notice that the bases would be in the local store on Wednesday, 4/24. We gave it an extra day and on Thursday, 4/25 my husband went to the store to pick up the parts. He was told that the parts were not in the store and it wasn't their fault. The webstore and Atlanta were the problem. They over promised and didn't perform.

My husband was quite upset (he's in treatment for lymphoma right now and this kind of emotional stress doesn't help). Given a previous experience, he had a feeling and went hunting. Lo and behold, he found the shower bases with our name on them in the holding area. If the customer service reps had taken a short walk to the holding area, all of this aggravation could have been avoided and HomeDepot would look MUCH better. My husband went back to the service desk to claim the order and asked to speak with the store manager. The assistant manager, Brian, came over (the store manager never seems to be in). Brian continued to blame the website and Atlanta for the issues. Although my husband left with the order he also left totally frustrated with the store and its employees.

To be clear, the exact same thing happened to him a year ago with an order we placed for our current home. That's how he knew to go looking! He knew the staff wouldn't and he needed to do their job. We're very disappointed in the attitude of these employees. Buyer beware! Don't expect anything more than the basics from the Mahwah store.

A week later the box spring arrived and I received another notification from my card that they had charged my card yet again and that my available balance which was 151$ was now -181$. On July 2018, I bought a patio furniture, which, after several calls and interaction with homedepot.com customer service, arrived damaged. I thought it was a one-time thing so I tried to give them a second chance this year. On March 17, 2019, I placed a new order for a patio furniture. It was supposed to arrive on March 22. It didn't. I call to Home Depot and told me that there were some problems because they had two carriers. One has the chairs and the other had the table.

After a back and forth, chairs were delivered (of course in the middle of my porch) and I received a call telling me that the table was “found” broken and they won’t delivered it. I asked if they could replace it and their response was that the model was discontinued… Very strange since it was announced like a “new product” in homedepot.com. Because of this, I was offered a compensation and discount to place a second order. They took 3 days to remove their chairs from my porch. I accepted. My fault.

The second order was supposed to arrive on April 8. Today is April 11, I called like 5 times and nobody knows where the package is. For any reason, I was transferred to the truck company and they confirmed that there was no delivery or order under my name. Of course, what I think is that Home Depot offered discounts and never placed the order effectively. The tracking number provided was invalid and the logistics company didn’t know about my order.

I confronted homedepot.com customer service with that information. Again, they called to the logistics company and told me that the package was “lost”. Like losing a 300 pound package was easy, nobody knew where it is. Now, they are offering me a $100 additional discount (ONLY effective once the order is delivered) for all the damages. I told them to please ensure they really place the order, and hopefully to put a note to NOT send a damaged item. The funny thing is that there is the same patio furniture available 5 minutes from my home but they, of course, “can’t” provide the same discounts in the store.

As you can imagine, you know what’s the expected outcome of all of this. Do yourselves a favor, stay away from placing any order through homedepot.com. You won’t receive anything, and after that, they just offer compensations and discounts knowing that in the end I’ll beg them for just having my money back. Forget about this fraudulent company.

They must have realized their website was wrong and fixed it, but won't honor their false advertising and take care of their customers the right way. Beware when you buy online from Home Depot...your price may increase just to get what you ordered or you may receive something you did not order. I didn't end up purchasing another butcher block and I will no longer shop at Home Depot.

Would not give me a straight answer on store credit for lost time. When it finally came in my local Home Depot store they were helpful and tried to make it better. This is with regards to their home services. Recently, I hired Home Depot Cambridge to install a shower in my basement (shower purchased from Home Depot). The contract I signed indicated "All labour at $75/hour, plus materials." There was additional work to be done - two pieces of drywall, and a fixture replacement. I received my bill and it was almost $4800 (including $450 material). I called to inquire and was informed it is $75/hour PER PERSON (not indicated in the contract) PLUS driving time. That in of itself is unreasonable for your Cambridge customers - your contractor is in Breslau.

Paramount (the contractor) dropped the bill to $3500. This tells me right away that they are overcharging if they are able to do this immediately. I tracked their work at my home (regardless of the spreadsheet they showed me - time can be entered at any point). They were at my residence for 18 hours, and I ended up paying for 36 hours labor. Unfortunately, not worth hiring a lawyer at this point. Stay away from using Home Depot Cambridge bathroom contractors.

I have signed a contract with Home Depot in October 2017 to begin work on my kitchen. The contract stated that the service will be delivered/project will be completed within a reasonable timeline. During verbal discussions during the planning stages of the project the completion timeline of around Christmas 2017 or shortly after (January 2018) was assumed as the end of the project. In reality the project was completed with many many issues only in April-May 2018. We were forced to live with no kitchen, no access to clean dishes or a way to prepare food for months and months, far beyond the original promised completion timeline.

The major delays we owing to various errors and screw-ups on the part of subcontractors provided by Home Depot and through no fault of our own. For example, the very first contractor who was responsible for hanging cabinets had hung them completely wrong which had in turn caused the next contractor installing the countertops to install them wrong. The countertop fell and shattered forcing us to reorder, pay out of pocket and further delay the project. There are multiple issues like this that came out of the work delivered by Home Depot.

Due to scheduling, I had to wait until Jan 2019 for install (really). Finally Jan 6 my windows were installed. They were forced closed by the installer and once I tried to open/close I couldn’t. I couldn’t close them again. When I called back 1 day later, the representative said I had to wait, and that could take 2 weeks. I JUST GOT THEM INSTALLED THE PREVIOUS DAY!

I went 1 month before anyone came to access the problem. It is now the middle of one of the worst winter seasons in 10 years. My windows (2) wouldn’t close. My children couldn’t sleep in their rooms for a month. Then new sashes had to be ordered. Why do I need new sashes for new windows? This would take another 2 weeks for ordering. Finally had my windows installed early March, now they are stalker calling me for final payment. No we’re sorry for the inconvenience, let us discount $500 not even $1.00. Sad, I will NEVER use them for anything!

We were surprised because we never authorized three piece carpet with SEAMS due to high traffic area because we know that if a carpet has seams they will start to show soon after due to wear and tear.

So we said we didn't order it this way and we went to the store and talked to Roger (Manager) who was helpful and he re-ordered a new piece of carpet to be delivered within 7 days. Called and left messages, call was returned the next day and a new delivery date was set-up and an excuse was given. The same song and dance repeated itself 4 different times. The different excuses given to me were, the dishwasher fell off the truck, the appliances didn't get on the truck, the truck was not going to make it to Sioux Falls in time for delivery....On the 6th week anniversary of my order (and after 6 full weeks of washing dishes by hand and missing work for deliveries that didn't happen) I went back to Home Depot asked if they could help. They could not, they offered to refund all of my money. While, they were very nice about it, no apologies given, I was told, "It happens". I understood, mistakes happen and it will take another 5 weeks for the store to correct their mistake, but thought to ask their sister store # 4706 to check and see if they did not receive the doors by mistake since it's been established that mistakes happen.

I spoke at store # 4706 with associate Andreea, and since she was not willing to go and check the receiving area, or even behind her at the "pick-up" area, I asked for a manager. Twice since she tried to school me again on how mistakes do not happen. The "managers" came, in plain clothes, no apron, no name tag. And even though we did establish that mistakes do happen, and even with their admission that sometimes they do make mistakes, instead of trying to satisfy my request, they also tried to school me on how mistakes that can happen do not possibly happen...

This store, # 4706 has employees that are patronizing, blatantly unwilling to help, and definitely lacking customer service skills. It was not an unreasonable request, to go and check and see if maybe there could be a package out of place, considering that my re-financing could be affected by missing cabinet doors to my kitchen cabinets. I would definitely not recommend this store, # 4706 for any of your home improvement needs.

For some time now, I have seen Home Depot as my 'go to' place for lumber, softener salt, tools, filters, even a vacuum cleaner, etc., so it was natural to go there when I was in need of a new washer. I invested in a nice front loading LG washer and was encouraged and pleased to further invest in the 5 year warranty plan that "would cover anything that could go wrong". In Home Depot's words, on the front page of Protection Plan folder, the warranty is advertised as "No Deductibles, No Additional Fees, No Kidding". Note the last two parts.

A little over two years later the front door has started to come apart and the machine has developed a intermittent leak. I made the call to Home Depot who passed me over to their Product Warranty department. They made arrangements for a someone to come out and take care of the issues, so my son made arrangements to be at home on that day.

A person from a company called Active Appliances (Van Nuys California) arrived on the day arranged, but they seemed to have little interest in my son's explanation of the issues we were having, nor his offer to help him to move the washer out so a thorough examination could be conducted. They stayed for a small amount of time, ran a diagnostic cycle, did a cursory glance over the washer, then announced a new door was required. They then left saying someone would be in touch without making any attempt to fix any of the problems.

The next day, I got a call from the Product Warranty department at Home Depot who told me the warranty repair claim was being denied, at which time they accused me of abusing the appliance. They said the washer was not showing signs of 'normal wear and tear' and thus the repair would not be covered. I was shocked, amazed, and disappointed, and had to explain to the customer service representative at Home Depot that the way a front loading washer works is that the front door is opened... frequently... and that is the only way in which the washer has been used. My family and I have never treated it in any way other than the way it is supposed to be used. Now, it seems clear that the person who came from Active Appliances never had any intention of servicing or repairing the machine, but was there to find a way for Home Depot to evade the warranty they sold us.

My advice is do not use Home Depot for an appliance purchase and absolutely never buy the extended warranty (managed by Asurion are who Home Depot sub-contracts this work to so they can elude responsibility), and do not ever use or rely on Active Appliances in Van Nuys who appear to be trained to find ways to circumnavigate product warranties. As for me, I will not only never make this type of purchase from Home Depot again, but I will now never use Home Depot for any type of purchase at all and instead go to Lowe's or Ace Hardware or Costco or any other place I need to depending on what I am purchasing.

I am a professional woodworker and DIY person who has 2 homes, splitting my time between Rockland County, NY, and Weber County, UT. When not making things in my shop, I do all of the maintenance, repairs, and enhancements on my two aging homes. The HD stores in Ogden, UT and Nanuet, NY are like night and day. Ogden being well managed and Nanuet being terribly managed. It’s hard to believe they are both part of the same company. Ogden’s staff are helpful, knowledgeable, well-spoken, friendly, and efficient. Nanuet’s staff possess, for the most part, opposite qualities.

The front of the Ogden store features clean, attractively displayed, clearly labeled seasonal products. The parking lot is clean and the shopping carts are organized and in good working order. The exterior and entrances to the Nanuet store are the opposite. Inside, the Ogden store has well-organized displays in the front section, and I often discover things there what I can use in my home. The front section of the Nanuet store is a mess. In the Ogden store, it’s easy to find what I need because it is well-staffed with knowledgeable clerks. Inventory is where it is supposed to be, including specialty hardware in well-labels steel drawers. In the Nanuet store, it’s hard to find someone who can help me find anything, and at times the answer is, “We don’t have it.”

Luckily the Home Depot app isn’t lazy, surely, or ignorant and I can find where inventory is supposed to be. In Nanuet, the only lumber I buy is sheet stock - plywood and MDF, but at times I can’t find what I need or find that it is warped, badly chipped, or soaking wet. The Ogden store has very nice stock, including domestic hardwood such as Cherry and Walnut. It is stacked and organized well. I could continue, but I think the reader gets the point. Home Depot stores are inconsistently managed. In Utah, Both Home Depot and I benefit from one extreme. In Nanuet, Lowe’s benefits from the other extreme.

I placed an order online via homedepot.com on February 5th to replace a dishwasher that was no longer functioning. I included the installation and haul away service with my purchase for the convenience of not managing those steps separately. My delivery/installation date was scheduled for February 9th. The delivery/installation contractor (Freight Rite) arrived on the afternoon of February 9th with the new dishwasher and soon discovered they did not have the correct water line hose to install the unit. They then suggested that I get a plumber to complete the install or try going to the store to get the correct hose, but they were not going to be able to install the unit that day. I refused delivery of the unit as Home Depot's policy is to not allow returns if delivery is accepted. The contractor packed up the unit, noted that someone would be contacting me, and left.

I called Home Depot online a few days later after not hearing back from the contractor and after a brief call we were scheduled to have the installation completed again on 2/16 with the correct water line hose. The delivery/installation contractor (Freight Rite) then called me the morning of 2/16 stating that the dishwasher had been damaged and they could not complete the install that day. Understanding that I did not want a damaged unit, we rescheduled the installation again for 2/23 which would allow time for a new unit to be provided to the Home Depot installation contractor (Freight Rite).

Finally, the installation was completed on 2/23 and the installer arrived with the correct water line hose. We were happy that this 2.5-week ordeal was complete and we could use a dishwasher again, but that was just the beginning of the challenges with this installation. After utilizing the new dishwasher for less than 2 weeks and entering my basement for the first time since installation, I discovered on March 9th that water had been dripping from dishwasher since the installation. I recorded a video of the water leak from the bottom of the dishwasher prior to turning off the water line completely.

I contacted Home Depot online customer service immediately and they directed me to contact the manufacturer (GE) to review and resolve the issue. GE was called immediately and they arrived two days later to review the issues. The GE technician noted that the unit was installed completely inaccurately and parts (leak detection) that would have identified the issue earlier were not installed at all and the parts were missing. GE would do no further work on the unit and referred me back to Home Depot because the issues were related to the install. The technician documented these issues in his receipt for the service call.

At this point there have been multiple attempts to get Home Depot and its contractors to fix the installation issues since the GE technician visit. We were scheduled for 3/16 only to discover someone cancelled the appointment unbeknownst to me. It was then rescheduled for 3/19 but discovered after calling Home Depot again that the appointment was not saved properly and had not been scheduled. An assistant manager at my local Home Depot store attempted to call various people at Home Depot online on the afternoon of 3/16 but made no progress also.

The insurance representatives of the Home Depot claims department (Freight Rite) fail to return any calls regarding the water damage done to my floors, ceiling, and what will soon be mold in the ceiling of my finished basement due to the failed installation. It has now been 6 excruciating weeks of trying to complete a simple purchase and installation of a dishwasher and no one at Home Depot seems to be interested in getting this fixed. I’ve now paid $1,600 for a unit that has been non-functional for over a month.

I purchased a new LG fridge on Feb 19, 2019. It was delivered on March 1, the 3rd party company they hired scratched the whole front panel of one door. They played it off like it wasn’t a big deal and continued to move the product into my home. I contacted Home Depot reps they told me not to sign or accept damaged product. It was sent back and Home Depot customer care said within 10 days we shall receive a replacement appliance.

After 8 days we did not hear back from Home Depot. We called them and they gave us an estimated time of arrival March 12, and said LG has sent the product and will arrive by then. They asked us to call them back on March 11 to confirm. We called that day, for Home Depot to tell us our delivery has now been backordered and LG will not send a replacement until Apr 4 now. How is it you tell us it’s already been shipped, now that it’s not coming till a month later all of a sudden? We called to have it escalated, they said the best they can do is mar 27. How did my back ordered product all of a sudden get bumped up? Beats me, I’ll take the date.

So today March 19th I called to confirm to make sure my fridge is still en route. The rep tells me, "Nope you weren’t booked for 27th, but we can book you on 28th." Fine whatever. A day won’t kill me. Then she comes back with, actually they can’t book replacement appliances and that’s up to the delivery company because products arrive in their warehouse. But she also told me new products we order is done the same process. But because it’s replacement it’s a different process. So it means when we hand over our money that first day your order is important, but if you don’t accept the damaged product you are no longer important and you will wait until they feel like delivering the replacement product to you. I asked her a few more questions, regarding how is that even customer service. She hung up on me. I will never shop at Home Depot ever again, and I will be sure to pass on this horrible experience to all my friends and family.

I ordered a compact stacking dryer from them and took the home delivery option. It arrived ahead of schedule, was left at the front door. This was on a Thursday so I was able to get it in the house and put it out of the way until my son came on Saturday to help remove the old dryer and install the new one. When we opened the box, the dryer had 3 dents in it but because of their damaged item return policy, the fact that it was already past 48 hrs when we opened the box and because the UPS driver made sure to drop the item and run no returns for me. It may not seem like $355.00 is much to Home Depot but when you're an elderly single lady and it's all you have to spend, it is a big deal. I'll never buy from them again.

Researched and ordered a tub and surround (Sterling by Kohler) for our refurbish (to the studs) project. Ordered from Home Depot. I did note that many reviews complained about the cracked product (an acrylic composite), but it was a national brand and likely distributed the same product to the other consumer outlets. I falsely assumed they would have taken care of any short-term issues. I was wrong - or Home Depot is shipping product from other stores that were returned as "DAMAGED" - which is my current theory and conclusion.

The store return desk was nice enough to do an "exchange" after I picked up and returned a bathtub and surround on two different trips. Forget it took my weekend afternoon for their quality problems and failed management (which I could go on about for other topics), so I also connected to chat. WORTHLESS. Mirissa shut down my chat session after she was told of the problem - gave me 2 (two) seconds before she asked if I was still there and then ended chat. Home Depot doesn't want to hear they have drastic performance and quality problems. I re-chatted another associate who was quite good after I told her I was "hung up on" by Mirissa. She promised to contact the manufacturer to send only new product and a 20% discount for my trouble. We'll see if all that occurs.

Bottom line on Home Depot: Clueless and not at all service oriented. I walk through there every week - buy a lot of product each year - and their associates are not very good (With a very few exceptions). They talk to one another more than they talk to customers - except to say "anything I can help you find?" Which for most is almost always a "NO". Try this Home Depot: "What can I do to make your visit better and more productive?"

In my Home Depot store - FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS - they had card readers that did not work. Do you want to know their standard line that I was told at least a dozen times in that time frame? "You have to put your card in the chip reader. When it doesn't accept it you have to exit out and swipe. If you do that three times it MAY work." This was for a Discover card that worked in every other store known to man and woman - but NOT HOME DEPOT. I talked to the store manager about the number of times his checkout readers failed - and it was TWO YEARS before they replaced them. Very bad store concept.
