I had a horrible experience when the card was lost. Customer service did not know the policy the store was mandated to use, regarding gift cards, after Home Depot lost a lawsuit, due to their unfair policy regarding gift cards (not refunding customers for lost cards). There is a big sign hanging up behind the CS desk that states "we will replace lost, stolen, or damaged cards". This was probably placed there after the lawsuit, without any explanation to the CS reps that there had been a change to policy. I say this because each time I addressed the issue with a CS rep, they told me in no uncertain terms that if the card was lost, I was out of luck, as it was treated as cash by their store.

I pointed to the sign behind them, and they just shrugged, and said they didn't know what to tell me. Finally, they told me to contact bookkeeping, so that they could get my proof of purchase, mail it to Atlanta HQ, and if during that time, someone did not happen to find the stolen card and use it, I may get a refund, but that they were making an exception to their normal policy, and I should be so grateful for their trouble. I am done with Home Depot. I spent several hours trying to get the issue sorted out.

I submitted a request for rebate for $10 for 2 gal. Behr stain. I contacted the rebate center on 10/19/09, resent all information on that date, then contacted again on 12/1/09, I was told by Fred to allow 15 days. I called again on12/17/09, and I was told by Reuben to allow more time. Called on 12/31/09 and was told by Frank to allow 15 days and I was given a new tracking number.

When I tried to use the new number I found a list of complaints from several Home Depot customers. It is 1/5/10 and I believe I am being given a run around by these people. I just want to register my complaint to corroborate the other people's complaints with much larger amounts of money involved.

My GE Adora front load washer (model WHDVH660HBB) leaked on 3 separate occasions, and the 1st 2 times, the seal was replaced. Last time, they deemed it was the dispensing unit on top. I told the service man after the 1st time about it still leaking, and he said to give the new seal a chance to seat. They now condemned the washer this last visit. Thank god, I bought the extended warranty. It was less than 2 years old, and now, they're stalling in replacing it.

I don't have complaint with the stores, just rebate center. I bought 8 gallons of paint during the Labor Day Paint Event rebate. I sent in all the proper information and eventually received a rebate for $5.00. Then I talked with Kim who verified my purchase of 8 gallons, and she asked that I resend the information by fax. Then after a while, I received $10.00 more which is the total rebate for 3 gallons. I again called one of their reps explained the situation and they said to fax the information again (3rd time) and they would take care of it. This was on 12-7-09 and we have yet to see a check or hear from anyone. We were very detailed about sending the proper information and are quite disappointed that this has gone on so long. We received a total of $15.00 in two different installments and are still owed $25.00. They have these specials, we take advantage of them and expect that they would follow through!

I am sending this response along with my many previous attempts to fix this issue to Home Depot Corp. Again, what I want: I want my account audited for the last six months and the policy they stated enforced! If it was abided by [their] company, I wouldn't have a revolving balance along with a promotion that doesn't expire for six months nearly paid off! Please explain why I have such a large revolving balance and two promotions not expiring for some time either already paid off or nearly paid off?

Notice: CitiBank is in violation of the Home Depot Promotional Agreements! I have made numerous requests that have been answered but with the problem not being addressed. I have sent the below to Home Depot corporate offices, not the consumer credit offices but Home Depot Corporate Offices. I am demanding an audit of my account and the corrections listed below made.

Their company is not abiding by the promotion agreement as you advertised. In the past few months I have made a large payment on my Home Depot credit card and then called to ensure that the payment was first applied to my revolving balance and the remaining amount be applied to the next promotion to expire. One of the representatives applied all the money to promotions not expiring for over a year and shifted all the money into the revolving balance. I have contacted Home Depot credit in writing several times with a positive response but their actions are the same, money applied to promotional balances not expiring for months and money shifted to the current interest bearing revolving balance. Again, applying payments to promotions not expiring for months and shifting the money to the interest bearing revolving balance.

I have spent over $40,000 in Home Depot over the past three years. If this is not resolved and the money unfairly taken from me in the form of unwarranted interest not returned, I want my account closed. What I want: 1. That my Home Depot account be audited and all payments be applied first to the revolving balance present at the time of the statement, except for those times I requested that a specific amount go toward the next expiring promotion balance, which was every expiring promotion; 2. If CitiBank is unwilling to do the right thing in accordance with our promotion agreements, I want my account closed and I will default on any remaining balance until the interest stolen from me over the past five months is returned.

I purchased an Echo Leaf Blower from homedepot.com with a $500 gift card and the remaining $54.75 on a debit card. Three days later, on Christmas eve, (yeah, this was my Christmas present) I received a box weighing about a pound. It was an Echo Mulch vacuum bag and the invoice inside said 1ea. Echo 755T leaf blower. I called homedepot.com immediately and spoke with a lady, who (for whatever reason) conveniently hung up 5 minutes before the top of the hour. When I called back, the automated attendant said they were closed. Well, spending my Christmas watching everyone else and nothing to do, I decided to get my paperwork together to call them in the morning.

On December 26th I spoke with homedepot.com and they have repeatedly told me the best they can do is email me a shipping label and call UPS for a pickup. Once they received it, then they'll issue a credit to my debit for $54.75. But the gift card will have to come by mail as a new gift card. Once I received it, I can start all over. I tried the retail store. They were even worse than the online reps. It's obvious to me Home Depot's accounting skirt the line of law and of GAAP. The gift cards are considered income, though no goods have been sold until the gift cards are redeemed.

The untold truth about gift cards is that only 0.50 for every 1.00 every gets redeemed. Furthermore, they have the ability to restrict your purchases (i.e. no discounts, no sale pricing, no cash value) and this is true. The street value of a gift card is around half its purchase price. All in all, I'm getting comfortable about washing my hands of Home Depot and of Echo. I decided to stick with my Poulan from Walmart since I've never been treated like this at Wally World and Poulan/Husqvarna has their products everywhere. If my Poulan breaks tomorrow, I could buy 2 replacements and still not spend the $554.75 for the Echo.

Oh, I almost forgot. You know that Home Depot gift card I had? Well, on the of the card was a bag of charcoal briquettes and a BBQ grill with a caption that said "a bag of coal..." That's just not right

On December 3, 2009, I ordered a multi-functional ladder from Home Depot's website since they didn't have the one I wanted in the store. On December 7, I received an email stating it had been shipped, and I was given a FedEx tracking number and a shipping date of December 6. On December 12, I pulled up the FedEx tracking status and it said FedEx had received the shipping information, but had not yet received the item to be shipped. I called customer service on December 14 and was told that the ladder had been shipped on December 13, but they didn't have a tracking number to give me. I called on December 16 for an updated status and was told the ladder was shipped on December 15 with no tracking number; I was told to wait a few days.

On December 17, I received an email from Home Depot stating that since I returned the ladder, they were going to charge me for return freight. Since I had not received the ladder and therefore could not return the ladder, I could not understand this email at all. I called customer service and was told the email had been a mistake and there had been confusion over the ladder, but they would ship it out today. I asked for a tracking number and was told they didn't have one. I told them I didn't believe them anymore. I didn't think I'd ever get the ladder and didn't even want it anymore. I had to ask for a manager to cancel my order and credit my debit card back. Finally, a manager agreed.

The next day, on December 18, I pulled up my checking account and noticed Home Depot had indeed charged me return freight on the ladder. I called them and asked for that to be credited back to my account; they agreed. As of December 23, they had not even processed the refunds with my bank. I'm still waiting, and they can expect many more calls to customer service. I will not purchase anything from www.homedepot.com. I lost hours of time dealing with this and so far, I am out $295.28 and have no ladder that I needed for a project.

I was referred to an HVAC contractor by Home Depot. After deciding on this contractor who mentioned “12 months, no interest” on HD card, I decided to apply. I called and emailed to inquire about 12 months 0 interest. I was told via phone only 6 months existed! I noticed online that the 12 months was available on HVAC installation. I applied online and received $1200 (not enough for $12K job). I called the number on the temporary card to request increase. I was asked several questions about credit info (i.e., car loan company, etc.), passed series of questions, but was then transferred to someone else who asked me questions about my niece's residence, ex-husband's sister's birth month, which I explained I had no knowledge.

They asked about my twin sister's rental property and several other addresses. Nevertheless, I was denied credit because I couldn't be "verified & high fraud rate online." I explained questions had no relevance to me & credit report. Ashley, Judgmental Coach, & Teresa, Credit Underwriter (Tenn), "can't change questions." I went into the store. The store personnel couldn't believe my story and called credit division. Stacy & Joe (Florida call center),"we use public database - it's info that is in my report." I check credit report monthly, since bank institution had laptop stolen several years ago. All info is correct! How would I know my ex-husband's sister's birth month! My twin sister's rental property addresses, or her daughter's city of residence? Why was I denied credit with a 700+ credit score? If Home Depot doesn't want to give credit, say so, but don't put up bogus questions that have nothing to do with me!

Home Depot terminated me, so I lost my job and my health insurance. I obtained a lawyer, and in January 2009, Sedgwick Insurance Company settled. They then left Home Depot and Liberty Mutual Insurance took over. They will not answer my lawyer’s letters or calls. Since that time, my health has gotten worse and I have no means to do anything about this. I do not know where to turn anymore. I ask if there is any way you can help me get this settled once and for all. My health is worse, my finances are depleted.

We had a Home Depot credit card for many years. We actually built up an available limit of $12,000 just by keeping it for so long! We never used anywhere near that amount and our payment history was perfect. But we were suddenly cut to $6,000 without explanation. APRs have continued to continuously climb, along with minimum amount due increasing also. We were also cut once again for no reason on available credit. We called the bank that handles HD's credit card, no luck of course. We were told that "this is how they handle all Home Depot customers." We called HD to see if they cared about losing a customer due to the callous attitude of their bank. We went as high as an executive in the Atlanta corporate office but they "could not do anything" about it! Since they chose the bank, that, of course, is incorrect! Since the original cut in available credit and APR hike, we have stopped shopping there for anything!

Home Depot makes it completely impossible to pay a certain kind (home improvement loan) of account online. I pay all my credit accounts online. Home Depot is certainly a large enough company to facilitate this type of transaction; and in fact, they do, for all but this type of account. When collectors from Citi (who apparently own the loan) call me, I always ask them why can't I just log on to Home Depot's site and pay my loan. Their answer is always the maddeningly inane, "This type of account cannot be paid online," which is not an answer to the question of "why"!

I understand that in the world of home finance, loans are sold to other institutions. Such is the case with both of my mortgages. In each of those cases however, I was notified in writing and am able to pay the new loan-holder online. What's with the secrecy with Home Depot? Is there some gain in them continuing to send me statements with constantly changing due dates on behalf of the true lender, making their payment cycle so hard to track, and pocketing late fees monthly as a result?

I placed an order for overnight next day shipping 12 noon on 12-7-2009 - Order number ** and have not received it yet on 12-9-09 at 1 pm. The merchandise cost me $39.99 and the overnight shipping next day as advertised was $28.25. I just got off the phone with Cortney at Home Depot "online" Merchandise number 1-800-435-4654 and was denied any compensation for the merchandise that was not delivered as advertised - overnight next day. This was decided by Cortney's supervisor. I requested that Cortney let the supervisor know that I have spent thousands of dollars at Home Depot and I expect compensation for not having the merchandise delivered overnight next day or I will not do business with Home Depot ever again. I will go to else where.

According to Cortney, the supervisor will not change the decision. I would have never spent over half the cost of the merchandise, $28.25, unless it was next day. I lost a business account because it has not arrived yet. As a small business, I am struggling to make ends meet as it is. I expect a refund on the shipping or Home Depot will lose my business for good. I hope for $28.25, my business and others means more than that to Home Depot. I would like to continue to do business with Home Depot but it is now a matter of principle and fairness! I will also cancel my Home Depot Credit Card.

Oh, by the way, I was never told "sorry!"

I purchased an electric range from Home Depot in November 2009. When the stove was delivered, I was told they were unable to install it due to the wrong type of wire from my old stove. I was told they weren't able to haul away my old stove and leave the new one while I had the wiring changed. I was told to refuse delivery and reorder the stove when I had the proper wiring. I went to the store on "cyber Monday" (Nov 28th) and took advantage of a deal on a slightly better stove which was on sale. Because I still hadn't received my money back from the first stove (which I paid cash for), the store gave me a store credit for the amount (gift card) allowing me to purchase the second stove.

Yesterday (Dec. 8th), I received a call from Customer Service telling me the second stove I ordered was not in stock. My options were to wait for the manufacturer to make more (which was an undisclosed amount of time), cancel the order or to choose a comparable model. I was told I would be allowed to upgrade a small amount for the inconvenience.

I spent 30 minutes on hold before I reached Rep Shayla **. Shayla assisted in finding a stove that was convection (an upgrade for us). I was told we would get $100 off any stove we chose. At checkout time, we had to pay $28. A look at the receipt shows we were given a $72 discount. I didn't have the energy to wait on hold again so I figured $28 was worth being done and over with this ordeal. This morning, I downloaded the new stove's user manual in order to see how it works and familiarize myself with the features. I was surprised to see it was not a convection oven.

I called Customer Service (30 min. hold) and spoke with a rep and explained the situation. She placed me on hold in order to contact a manager. The call was dropped, or I was hung up on. I called back (35 min. hold) and spoke with another rep. After explaining my situation, I was told I can cancel my order and receive my money back within 48-72 hours. I was told that since the store gave us store credit/gift card when we ordered the second stove, that I could only get my money back via a gift card.

I asked to speak to a manager, to whom I was transferred. I explained that the store changed my cash payment for the original stove to a gift card so I could order the second stove. I explained that I no longer wished to purchase the stove from Home Depot and that a gift card would be pointless. I explained that I gave Home Depot paper money and I would like paper money back or at least a credit to my debit card. During my explanation, I heard the all too familiar "click" from the other end of the line and found myself hung up on again, this time by a manager. I wish I had her name.

So now I have no stove ordered and no idea where my refund is and how it's coming. Off to the store to try again there - I feel bad for the Customer Service at the store because they are nice everyday people that now have to deal with frustrated customers like me. I will probably never do business at HD again.

I went back this morning with daughter & her mini-van also. Items were not ready, had not been pulled. We had to wait 1/2 hour for someone to be found to pull them, then had to wait for someone to load. They did fit into only one of our vans. I believe the message here is called pass the buck - I don't want to pull all these cabinets & load them. When the customer comes in to pick them up, someone else can handle it. I have spent a lot of money at Home Depot in the past few weeks and have more purchases to make, but I will be shopping around for another home store. What just happened is not good customer service. On my last visit to Home Depot (12-5-09 at about 7:30PM), I entered the store, I said "hi" to the "greeter", and she looked at me like I did something wrong and said "MmmHmm." I looked for an item (a $150 drill) in the same area for about 30 minutes with my wife. There were no employees in sight to help us. When I finally found an employee, he saw me looking for him and quickly walked in the other direction as if he were busy.

I was going to buy a few other items since I could not find what I was looking for, but since no one wanted to help, I gave up and left. When I left, there was another female employee at the door talking with the "greeter" I said "hi" to when I came in. The female looked away from my wife, and I and did not say anything as we left. She was obviously avoiding us. Apparently, the employees that night all wanted to be somewhere else on a Saturday. If that's the case, they should seek different careers. When I went to complain to the website, it was not possible due to problems with their website, which is why I am now using this one.

It isn't very hard for a shopping system to be told how many are available to sell and when that number has been reached, then don't accept orders. If we knew they didn't have any online, we might have driven the 30 miles at 4 in the morning on Black Friday to see if we could get one. But since the system processed our order, we didn't. That worked perfectly into our time frame as our contractor was scheduled to start the job on 11/2/09. On 11/9/09, we called Home Depot to get the status of our order. We were told that the delivery was delayed and that the order was now due on Monday, 11/16/09. We were not happy about that, but we were able to work that date out with our contractor.

I explained that I spent thousands in Home Depot all the time and she can look at my account and see that I pay on time. I couldn't believe how rude she was. I said, "So you're telling me you'd rather have me go shop at Lowe's or another store like that, rather than spending all the money I do at Home Depot because you're not willing to help me out?" She said I could do what I wanted and that there was nothing she was going to do for me.

I'm not only upset about the fact that I spend thousands and thousands at this store between my card and my husband's but also because of how rudely I was treated. I knew that if only this woman wanted to, she could have done something to remedy the situation and had a happy customer on her hands. I purchased an axe handle that was clearly marked as $13.97 on the shelf. It came in a two pack that was clearly impossible to separate without a cutter. The checkout read it as two items and had to summon someone from the back to divide them. At the very least this was deceptive. It is also likely a violation on Connecticut state law regarding price labeling. When I questioned the issue, I was told that a mistake was made but no recompense was offered. I would hate to think that the State Consumer Affairs Department is required to sort this out! Perhaps some training is in order for your reps, particularly the upper level employees.

Upon purchasing an LG front load washer and dryer, we opted to also purchase the Home Depot Extended Warranty. Almost 40 days ago, my washing machine "starter" unit went out. Home Depot's Extended Warranty will not cover the repair of my washing machine because my laundry room is on the 2nd floor and the washer sits in a pan to protect the floor from leaks. Since the washing machine cannot be pulled out and has to be lifted to access for repair, they will not repair it. The warranty does not cover "moving services" only repair services. If you have a washing machine on the second floor in a pan, do not purchase this warranty. It will cause nothing but headaches and a complete waste of your valuable time.

Employee made statement that he used less oil than it called for because it would run better. I was working at Quantico Marine Base and I used the saw one time. When I went to start it again, it would not start. I live in Abingdon, Virginia which is approx. 6 hours from that Home Depot. I took the saw to the Home Depot in my area, Bristol, Virginia, and they sent it off for repair to see what was wrong. They responded that the motor was burnt because it was ran with insufficient amount of oil. Altaquip who had it for repair called and told me it would cost around $650 to repair the saw, which I paid $891.44 for. I had them return it and I took it back to the Stafford Home Depot where I bought it.

After lots of managers and bull **, they sent it for repair at their cost and when it was done, they had it shipped to me directly. When I received the saw, I filled it with gas and oil and the gas poured out of the tank. I then took it back to Stafford Home Depot when I was working up there again and took it in the store and showed them the problem and the fact that it still would not run. This was on 10-4-09. Today, 11-9-09, Home Depot called and stated that the saw is back from repair and that they took it to their in-house shop and it works fine so I asked them to ship it to me because I am not going to be up that way anymore and they refused.

I went online and printed a copy of the electronic check made out to Home Depot and I also printed out a copy of my bank statement that showed that it indeed went through as the electronic check # matched the check # on my account. I took the copies to the Westminster Maryland Home Depot Office and showed them what was going on and they called their own customer service and faxed them a copy of the electronic check and the date it was cashed. A few days later, I called to see if it have been straightened out and I was told by a customer service rep that they had no record of a fax from the Westminster store. So, I faxed it from my home. It is now November 3rd and they still have no record of the two faxes and have sent me a bill with a late fee assessed and have put my account in default and raised my percentage rate to 29.9%. I am going to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency.

I had lived in Cape Cod, MA in the last two years and just recently moved back to my hometown in PA. I had moved from Cape Cod and a lot of the reasons were because the customer service in the Hyannis store Home Depot was terrible. I have Asperger's Syndrome, but I have many abilities and one of them was fixing things and building furniture. I was brand new to the area. At first, one of the cashiers was very friendly to me, but was inappropriate. He wanted to take a picture of me to have in his cell phone which I thought was rather odd. But I was very lonely up there and wanted to have friends. To make a long story short, I found out that he had been laughing at me behind my back to all the cashiers and the store managers in that store. So when I was in the store, you could tell by the looks on their faces. I tried so hard to make friends which was my mistake because these people weren't really my friends at all. I made this one cashier (Derick **) some jewelry.

I also design and create jewelry in silver and gold. I made this guy two rather valuable pieces of jewelry, and he never appreciated them. He started making fun of me and he became rather nasty towards me. And I don't, to this day, understand why. But one day, on October 3, 2008, I was returning some items at the store and he happened to be working there at the returns booth. He wouldn't take my return. He just stood there, looked into space, and the store manager (Ryan **) joked Derick about it. It was a disgusting behavior. It doesn't matter if you dislike someone or not, no one deserves to be treated the way I was treated! I was discriminated against. I was ostracized by the employees there! This store ought to be sued for that behavior! The two individuals who I have named should have been fired. They have not! They should have been held accountable. I tried complaining to Home Depot and they had done nothing. They still work there. And now, the new district manager is ignoring me and not taking my calls. The people in Cape Cod, in the Hyannis Home Depot are a disgrace. They're less than not friendly, less than helpful, and they're undereducated!

I left Cape Cod. I was discriminated against because of what I am. To this day, it still hurts a lot. I'm having trouble getting through it, even now that I'm no longer there. Mental damage was done. I was violated emotionally. They violate the Americans with Disabilities Act! I know a former employee who had quit because of the disrespect she received from the other workers at the Hyannis Home Depot. She suffers from ADHD. These people should be held accountable! This can happen to somebody else! And it probably already has. Only they don't talk about it or think it's going to do no good, which they're probably right because Home Depot did nothing to fix the situation and fire these people!

On the same day, Home Depot charged me a late fee of $39.00. So, I called them and they tried to blame my bank. They agreed to remove the late fee, but they refused to remove the record of a late payment from my account. And they say it will be reported as a late payment to the credit reporting companies. I called my bank, and they told me Home Depot and received my payment and confirmed it on 10-19-2009 which was the payment due date. My bank added that they could not have given me a confirmation number unless and until the payee had acknowledged the receipt of the funds.

Home Depot is penalizing me for their failure to post my payment in a timely fashion. I made my payment on the due date and received confirmation of it, and they still refuse to remove the late payment notice from my account. I also found out they have been charging me $46.69 a year for what they call a "Balance Protection Fee" (Credit Life) which I never signed up for or authorized. Of course, they couldn't do anything about that. I have to call another number to address that issue.

My wife and I went to the Home Depot to purchase a ride-on lawn mower. We went in June because they were having a promotion in which a gift card was given based on a specific amount spent. We spent $3800 for a Cub Cadet zero-turn mower and this amount entitled us to a $500 gift card. The sales person who rang the sale through actually photo copied our receipt and faxed the copy to the rebate center to "speed things up." Well, after the first month of waiting and no response, I checked our status and was informed that the wrong SKU number was entered on the receipt. It seemed to be correct when they took our money, but now it's wrong? So next after multiple phone calls with the store manager and a lot of we'll-get-back-to-you comments, I was finally given a host of 1-800 numbers which put me through to automated phone-bots from Florida, Quebec, Toronto, and so on. I never got through to an actual person.

Well, it's now October 20, 2009 and there’s still nothing. In fact, I just called the store tonight and found out the manager in charge of our dilemma is no longer employed at the Home Depot! So, I am taking the mower back this weekend for a refund and will never step foot in another Home Depot ever again. The whole rebate gift card promo is a big scam as far as I see it. I guess if they screw over thousands of people, it's worth it to them if the sales go up for every promo and a new crop of naive customers buy into the scam. Beware and learn from others’ misfortunes.

Approximately three or four weeks ago, I paid off the entire balance. We then had +/- $500 credit on the account.

Two weeks ago, we closed the account and asked for a check to be sent to us. Even after numerous e-mails and phone calls requesting our check, we are still waiting. I applied for a credit card account while at Home Depot after being solicited by the sales rep to do so for a "12 months same as cash" promotion. After the sales rep entered all of my credit information into the computer and took my driver license, a message came up on his computer asking that he call a number. The sales rep called the number and spoke with a rep from the credit card company, and the credit rep asked to speak to me. I get on the phone, and she says that she needs to first ask me four questions before she can approve my account. (Keep in my mind that my credit score is 730 and I have never been turned down for credit before and have a few revolving accounts with retailers.) I then tell her that my English is not very good and could she maybe talk to my wife who was with me, and she said no. She said she can get an interpreter on the line to help.

Once the translator came on the line, I had some difficulty hearing due to the conference call and trouble understanding the dialect of the translator. They both began to ask me questions like "What counties have I been associated with in the past?" and they also read a list of counties and asking me to verify which one I live in. I was confused by the question of them saying "I have been associated with" rather than simply to say "I have lived in before" (my wife later explained to me that it was maybe just a more professional form of communication). And when I told the rep that I did not understand the question, she said, "Pay attention!" And then she asked another question and said for me to state if I am "associated with the numbers **". I asked her to repeat the question because I did not understand.

I was becoming frustrated with not understanding her questions and still not understanding why I was even being asked these questions or how it was related to my application for credit. I told her this and I also said, "I had no problem in buying my house, so why is it so hard to open an account with Home Depot?" She said to me sternly that I applied for the credit and it is my responsibility to answer all of her questions. My wife was with me and she became frustrated as well (it had been over 15 minutes now) and I told my wife what they were asking. I told her they want to know what ** is and she said, "That is the number of our first apt." And then my wife said to me, "Why are they asking that? You live in Boone County and you have for 3 years. Do they need to know that you lived in Fayette County before when we were in another city?" I honestly did not know the name of the county for when we first lived in Lexington, KY and I have only lived in the US for about 5 years anyway.

When I said this to the rep, "Before I lived in Fayette County, is that what you are asking?" she tells me then that I am being "coached" by my wife and therefore would not get to have a credit card. I gave the phone to the Home Depot sales rep and he then talks to the credit rep and he also says to her that he has never had to put anyone through this type of interrogation before for a card. He said that the information will come up either "approved" or not when he enters the info and he wanted to know why they had to ask so many questions. They would not answer. My wife asked him to get the name of the credit rep so she and I could file a complaint, and she did not give her name to him but did give a phone number that I could call.

I feel that I was being discriminated against for my race and by my last name sounding foreign. My credit is excellent and there would be absolutely no reason to be denied credit and especially no reason for me to have to be interrogated about prior addresses when this is not done to other applicants for the same card. If you look at my credit report, you will see that I have excellent credit. I need some sort of explanation as to why I was put through those questions. It seems unfair. I showed the sales rep at the store my driver’s license, my green card, and my social security card even. He even told this to the credit rep. I think I have been discriminated against and will look at how I can file a complaint.

When an item is returned, no one ever checks to see if all the parts are in the package. So when they just put it back on the shelf, the next person who receives it will be short of parts. Also last week, I was in for a plumbing supply tube. It was mis-marked, and it took me two trips. I should have gone to Lowe's instead. It would have saved me an extra trip. Some of your employees are too lazy to help. They just say we don't have that, mainly the younger ones. I am glad that Lowe's moved into Silverdale. I will do the bulk of my shopping there.

Home Depot told me that I would have to miss payments, so I would have to have a collections person call me first to settle anything. But if I miss payments, then I would have to pay $39.00 for every payment missed. It seems to me all they want me to do is miss payments so they can get their fees. I am trying, in good faith, to pay them but I think it is unfair for them to have missed payment so they can get their fees.

I recently had a family member pass away who left an estate. Through consideration of the rest of my family, I was asked to purchase the property on a land contract. I accepted and moved into the house and began fixing it up. About 2 months into the project, I got a nice bonus at work and purchased $1,500.00 of gift cards online just to ensure that I had the money tied up and it didn't go somewhere else. Shortly after the purchase, I heard from the lawyer handling the estate and it seems that there were 3 years back taxes owed. I managed to scrape together enough to keep the state away, but need much, much more. In a hurry, I had made some purchases on the gift cards, but there is still $885 left on them. I tried to call the local branch and they told me that they don't return cash in gift cards. The local manager was very courteous and helpful, but explained that he couldn't help me and gave me a phone number to customer service for online gift cards.

This morning, I called that number and talked to a rep. She told me that Home Depot doesn't return cash on gift cards and that she was sorry, I may lose the house. We continued the conversation and she explained that if I wouldn't have used any of the gift cards, they could have made some kind of exception but "I had tied her hands by making a purchase." I explained to her that I was unaware at the time of purchase that there were taxes owed and that returning my money would greatly help me. She, however, refused to help stating "policy." I also explained that I was a loyal customer of Home Depot and spend thousands of dollars in their stores every year. Her answer was, "Perhaps you should have saved some of that money." That's when I got angry and told her that I would never come back to the Home Depot again and that I was going to blog all day long to let people know how Home Depot is with their no refund policy.

It is very clear that I won't get satisfaction from Home Depot and that they will not return my money. As of now, I have to wait it out to see if I can keep the property and if I do, I'll have to spend that money at their store (feels like a form of extortion to me).

I said, "Why do I have to take a gift card?" and "I paid cash for the item." The other representative asked me why I did not want a gift card, and I told them I should not have to have one. Then, another rep told me if I put it on my card, and it was a zero balance, I would still get a gift card.

My point is, why are they getting all on me like that and putting my business out in front of other customers? I am a paying customer and I should not get that type of treatment. To make the situation bad, I had to wait, as I was first in line, so that she could help other customers. This was not good customer service. I purchased a GT1554 lawn tractor from Home Depot in May 2009. The first time I ran it, I noticed a distinct noise coming from the tractor after it had warmed up. It made a chirping noise. I called Home Depot. They told me they would ship it to the repair center they use; however, it is in Great Falls, MT which is 90 miles north of where we live. They told me it would be 4+ weeks to get it back. At least, they were honest about time.

R & R Pump Company is a small business in Helena which is listed as an authorized repair center. I chose to take my mower to them. I try and support Helena businesses when I can. I took the mower to R & R on July 13, 2009. Today, it is August 10, 2009 and they still are waiting for a part. I started calling about 2 weeks after I took the tractor into R & R. I first was told that they did not look at the tractor for 2 weeks. I'd have waited to take it in if I had known that. Then, after another 1-1/2 weeks, I called and spoke to Kim (had to call twice, left a message and was not called back the first time).

When she told me the parts were not there, I asked if she would make a call to find out where the parts were, mistake #1. Kim got angry, told me she did not have time to do this and she would call me when it was done! I called again last week, August 7 - the business owner told me that Kim wouldn't talk to me. How about that for customer service? I called this morning, August 10, 2009, and was told that one of the two parts had arrived, still waiting on the second. I told them that it figured!

Here is the deal. I understand that certain things are out of the control of business. I have been in business before. I have no tolerance for poor customer service and I am getting that, time after time. I asked for the Kohler part numbers today and I was given some ** numbers. They are not on the parts listing I have from Kohler on the engine.

If you are thinking about purchasing a Cub Cadet (they do make a pretty good mower), and if you live anywhere around Helena, Montana, do not expect to get any help from R & R. I have had the worst customer service from them I have ever received. R & R would discourage me from purchasing anything else from Cub Cadet or anything else where they are involved! The temperature has been and still is in the hundreds, so waiting in the heat is a big deal. After waiting ten or so minutes, I went back in and asked another cashier for the manager. He appeared about ten minutes later, and I asked him for help. I'm 60, by the way. Again, he called for help, and no one came. So, I stormed out. All of a sudden, he's willing to help! I turned around and told him I don't need this kind of treatment, and I loaded it myself.

The point here is they are grossly understaffed. There is a very high turnover, and the good ones don't seem to stay very long. I'm in this store at least four times a week and have to track down assistance of any type. The League City store is always staffed as is the Clear Lake Store. Often, I have their paint department mix paint to match the color that I need as per my sample. The paint "professional" that worked with Alfonso attempted to mix my paint for me after he had "shot" my sample on his computer match machine. Alfonso was on his break at the time. The paint he mixed didn't even come close to matching. This employee said that I would have to wait for Alfonso because he was the "real professional."

I offered up, "So you don't know how to use the paint machine?" He said no and that he just started working there. Nice, I waited for 30 minutes for his help. I waited another 30 minutes for Alfonso to come off his break. When Alfonso came to the counter, he promptly said that he couldn't match my sample because it was painted wrong. My exact words were, "**, the gal that works in the morning wouldn't hesitate to mix this for me."

Alfonso called his manager over via telephone. He told his manager that I was cursing at him. I explained to the manager what I had said and that I had a similar run-in with Alfonso on a previous paint matching trip to this store and Alfonso told me the same thing back then - that he couldn't help me. This Home Depot is in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood and is staffed with about 90% Hispanic employees. The customer make-up is about 50% Hispanic and 50% "other."

After talking to the manager and explaining how to match the paint properly, Alfonso's assistant gave it another try. Following my instruction, we got a good match. All the while, Alfonso cheerfully helped all customers Hispanic. I think he doesn't like white people. Or, perhaps he just doesn't like anyone to call ** on his lazy, yet controlling sales practices.

You can't use them to pay off credit card limits, can't use them online, expect they sell them online, and every other store that uses gift cards allows usage online.

I went to buy a deck ($1300). Well, I forgot my money and gift cards at home, and instead of making the 2-hour trip back home to get them, I decided to sign up for the credit card and pay it off when I get back home. Sounds good, right? I spent my hard-earned $1300. A week later, I went to Home Depot to pay off, but can't use the gift cards. No empathy, no care, just some high school kid basically telling me I should have read the fine, small print on the card. Same response from the manager. Okay, my fault. Now, I have $400 to spend at a store I have nothing or want nothing from. I go online seeing that they sell different items online than they do at the stores, only to find out, you can't use your gift cards online. You can definitely buy them online, but can't use them. I have no record of any late payment ever. I was told that unless I could prove it was a bank error, the entry could not be removed. I must ask, could this have been a Home Depot error? However, we were told that unless we can prove it is a bank error, they could not do anything for us. Our credit rating is spotless but for this entry made by your people. I have been offered no help to resolve this problem.

The consequences are probably not going to impact me, the bank will not be concerned by this single entry. However, I currently have a zero balance on my account and that is exactly what I will spend at Home Depot from now on. I will never use your facilities again. We have other fine stores close by and it will not be a burden to use those stores rather than Home Depot. I will simply stay away from your facilities and will be certain my friends and family understand my reasons.

When arriving at the store, they knew nothing of the price and showed me the website that stated it was $239. The clerk said I must have changed the numbers around because there was no way that could be the price, sale or not. I left empty handed. Hoping for some resolution, I called the 800 number where I was basically told "too bad". This has left a bad taste in my mouth and will only end with me now using Lowe's instead.

I never got a call and the lady at the store told my fiancée that it was okay, opened the account and my fiancée used it.

My fiancée was paying the card with her disabilities and she told me, but here is the thing, we had paid it off but had to use it again, so I got laid off after 17 years, my fiancée had become ill, we were unable to pay. When I did go back to work, Home Depot doesn't want to work with me, and I was trying to consult all of my debt because I have always had good credit. I was advised because I never signed an agreement, I shouldn't be held liable. I also advised Home Depot, if they would go back, take all of the bad debt off, late fees, correct my credit, I would keep the card and pay what is owed, but they want to keep calling and harassing. Is that fair to me? Then one lady tried to get smart with my fiancée and say "well, what your fiancée should do is take out a warrant against you."

First, they should not have opened an account without my signature. The lady in the store tricked my fiancée just to get an account. They have to make so many quotas in opening an account, and my fiancée thought that she had spoken with me. My credit report is messed up! They call my fiancée all day long, harassing her.

As I proceeded through the store, I stopped in the bath dept saying I can find something here also for the bathroom. There was a white employee who saw me looking around for several minutes. He didn't ask once if I need some help. But as soon as this white couple walks in the same department, he immediately approached them and asked them if they need some help and he showed them where to find the product. He looked at me and walked toward another aisle and I said to myself wow! This can't be happening, not in 2009, no way.

So I said let me continue to walk around and see how this experience will continue to get. Again as I proceeded toward the lumber area to look at some plywood, there was another white employee saw me looking around for several minutes. I even stood approximately five or six feet away from him. He never once said excuse me sir may I help you or has anyone helped you. Even though he was with a white customer helping her out at the time, he saw me standing there and turned his back and continued talking to her as if I wasn't standing there and once he loaded her cart he proceeded toward the entrance way and never said once may I help you.

Now in any business, the employee is always supposed to ask the other customer has anyone helped you or I be with you after I take care of this customer. It was humiliating and embarrassing to be subjective to this type racism in 2009.

On Saturday, April 4th, 2009, I contacted the Home Depot Store at 150 Pocono Commons, Stroudsburg, PA Store No. 4127 to ask about the warranty for my lawn installation. I was informed by Manager Linda ** that all installations are under warranty for a year. She then referred me to the Manager of installations, Cheryl ** who stated that she would contact the subcontractors, Scott and Joe from Extreme Transformations and the district manager of Home Depot, Charles ** in reference to my complaints. Charles ** visited my property around the end of April 2009. My wife pointed out all the gravel in the dirt and the areas that are unleveled and he acknowledge that there was a problem by calling me and taking pictures of my property and stated that it's obvious our lawn did not take because of the large amount of gravel in the top soil. Charles stated that he would see what he can do for me and gave him a few days for a resolution. After he left, I called him that following Thursday because I did not hear from him on Wednesday and he stated that he is still trying get in touch with the sub-contractors, to give him another day. That Friday past and I called Charles back on Monday, and we exchanged e-mails. After a couple of weeks, there was still no resolution. I then called corporate and spoke to Shondreka ** and she said she will investigate. She then called me back and stated that the district manager, Charles **, closed the case

Based on his opinion, we did not water the lawn as needed and the sub-contractors did us a favor by clearing additional areas and we did not obtain the recommended amount of dirt. The initial install was done on May 6th, 2008. After the install was completed, three weeks later, we noticed that there were huge rocks and two tree stumps that had surfaced and they needed to come back and redo those areas. They came back in July to fix the problem, but after they dug up all the huge rocks and pulled out the two tree stumps, they said that they will give us a load of dirt for obtaining a client through me, but in reality they needed the extra dirt to fix the property after they tumbled the yard for the second time.

The following complaints were made to Home Depot and the sub-contractors on April 4th 2009. My grass did not grow due to the large amount of gravel in the top soil they gave us. We have re-seeded, limed, fertilized and watered the lawn daily and the lawn did not take. The property was not properly graded after the final installation. Please keep in mind that my property was completely graded and leveled by the company that built my home. In fact, the sub-contractors acknowledged this during the initial consultation. In September of 2008, we realized that the final grading done by the sub-contractors left many unleveled areas and large puddles when it rained. We immediately tried to contact Scott and Joe from Extreme Transformations several times throughout the fall, but they did not respond to my messages. Winter came and I decided to re-visit the issue after winter was over.

The construction took over two years and in the building plan we received, many changes were made to original drawings that we were originally sold on. The lower level room was to have higher quality triple pane windows and insulation in floor and ceiling, plus special window transit top and bottom to let the light in. They ended up having to put a big metal steel I-beam in the wrong place which they covered with wood, but blocks the view from those top transit windows. The biggest problem which is still an ongoing issue is they did not put the proper flashing attachments to the roof so there is water leaking into the top sunroom and progressed down through the insulated floor to lower level room.

Home Depot has considered this to be a condensation issue and has closed the file and they are expecting final payment for the job. However, to date, when it rains, I have wetness on my floor in the second level and they refuse to do anything about this. I have retained legal service. However, this is very costly and I cannot believe that a company of this size doesn't care about its customers. This is a great deal of money for this job and I am totally not satisfied, I cannot even put final flooring down in the room because of all the water issues.

It is 2009 and still I am making attempts to close this account and report the closing to my credit report. I do not reside in the US, have not been to the US in years and have no plans to come to the US anytime soon. The last call to Home Depot advised me to wait until I return to US and call to close this account. Why? I would be very grateful if you could convince personnel to close this account as requested for the 5th time in the past four years. We renovated a bathroom extensively, and bought from HD because they were offering a rebate depending on how much you spent on fixtures, vanities, sinks, toilets. Our rebate would total $350 since we spent well over $1200. I mailed all the receipts right away the first week of March 2009, and have been waiting ever since. It has been well over 8 weeks now, so I called them (1-888-733-8441) and went online to Rebatetrack.com to see where my rebate was. I have been told that my rebate was never received and now, I have to re-submit to an address in Miami, Florida and wait another 6 weeks. I am most annoyed. The original receipts were mailed to The Home Depot, Promo code 08-54911-99, Suite 515, 24 First Ave, St. Thomas, Ontario N5R 6H8. However, when I called today, we were told we were missing information. As I previously said, this information has been faxed or mailed a total of four times by both ourselves and the New Hartford, NY store (Carol **). We are, by all accounts, frustrated and angry about this. We expected more from Home Depot and are strongly considering taking our business to Lowe's. We are going to be remodeling our bathroom this fall and expect to spend a fair amount of money - but, at this time, our feeling is that Home Depot does not stand behind their advertising and we have gotten nothing but a runaround. I had found a nice storage cabinet at Home Depot that I was interested in purchasing 3 weeks ago. When I first went, I was told that they were all sold out and would be getting more in stock in 2 to 3 days. I came back in 5 days, and again there were none. The salesman had told me that they could order one in from the Brockville location, and that he did not need my name, etc. but to come back on Tuesday. I came back in 5 days and there were still no cabinets, except this time, Jennifer asked to take my name and number and would call me when they were expected in on March 18th. I had not heard again until yesterday, which was April 2nd. Jennifer left a message on my answering machine saying that they did not have the white cabinet in, but they did receive 8 of the wood finish ones that I was looking for.

Today after work, I made a trip to Home Depot (at the other end of town) to pick up the cabinet. Mark, who was trying to help me, could not find any of the wood finish cabinets; and I asked if maybe they had made a mistake on their computer and entered the incorrect stock number. It turns out that they had 8 of the white cabinets in stock and none of the wood finish. So I said forget it. I was going to use this $25 coupon I had that expires April 12th. Too bad I couldn't find something to buy. So I decided that I would go and buy the 2nd item on my list which was 6 new cushions for my patio set and a new patio umbrella. They were $29.99 each which seemed like a good deal, and the umbrella was $99.99. I found some cushions that I really liked, but the box only contained 3.

So I went to the 2nd color I liked, and again there were not enough of that color. There were not 6 of any type of chair cushions. I asked Glen for help, and when he checked the store computer, there were 11 in stock; but he didn't know where. I spent another 20 minutes waiting while he pretended to help me. I finally left the store disappointed after spending an hour buying nothing because the staff could not find the proper items and where they were stored. It was a very frustrating experience, and I'm not sure if I will be returning to Home Depot anytime in the near future. It's too bad because we were just approved for a $5,000 credit card.

I have a line of credit w/ Home Depot (HD). I made a payment of $100 to my HD account in October 2008. This would be the last bill I would receive from HD. After having a causal conversation in Dec 2008 about home repairs with my family, I realized that I still had not received a bill from Home Depot for November or December 2008. I then called the customer service # on the back of my Home Depot credit card to see if I had a payment due. I was certain that there was a small balance left on my card.

HD automated system confirmed that my payment for Nov was late and I immediately made a $50 payment to get my account current. I thought nothing of it at this point. In Jan 2009, I went to refinance my car and house and noticed I wasn't getting the rates I thought I should be getting. My credit score was at or above 700 for all 3 credit bureaus. I then ordered a credit report to see if it could explain why I wasn't being offered better rates. My Experian score was a 686, my Equifax was 650 and my TransUnion was 649. I thought to myself, "This is NOT right."

Sure enough, when I looked at my report more closely, I noticed that HD had slapped a "30-day" late tag on my report. So, from here I started researching. I needed to see these bills that I did NOT get (for Nov and Dec 2008). I found out that HD had an online account service that I could sign up for to receive bills electronically. I did this ONLY because I wanted to see the bill I never got for Nov and Dec 08. Turns out my bill for Nov 08 was due 11/17/2008. Minimum due was a whopping $10. This was the bill that was responsible for the 30-day late fee. I paid it on 12/22/2008 and it was a total of 35 days late altogether.

I called HD on 1/29/209 at 12:25pm. I forgot to write down the rep's name that I spoke with but I'm pretty sure it was a male. Basically, I told him what happened. I told him I never received a statement from HD in Nov, Dec 08, Jan and Feb 09. He said they would investigate the matter but if no BANK error was found, there was nothing they could do to change my account. I mentioned to him that HD MUST take this late tag off my credit report. After all, it is not my fault that HD uses a 3rd party to deliver their mail in the USPS. If it was that important to HD, they would ensure the mail they send out it being delivered promptly. But the rep mentioned to me that their systems showed they delivered my bill and the rep actually got a little testy with me. I think I remember asking him if he delivered my personally.. Obviously the answer to that would have been 'no.'

I also brought up a few more points while on the phone with the HD rep. To my knowledge, fair debt collection practices include giving notice and sending invoices. I also mentioned to them that I have been a loyal customer for 2 years. I have never had a late payment on the card before. In addition, I have spent thousands of dollars in their store. Also, they gave me a credit line of $3300. Would HD have given me this credit line if they didn't think I could make a $10 minimum payment on time? Finally, the rep told me that Home Depot sends all their bills out to credit customers between the 19th and 23rd of every month. Their processing center is in Atlanta. I live in Charlotte. Now, based on when I called them (1/28/09) and close proximity between Charlotte and Atlanta (roughly a 4 hour drive), I should have had February 2009 bill by then. But there was still no statement from HD.

After bringing up all these points, HD wouldn't budge on changing it. The rep said they will have to let the investigation run its course. He mentioned it would take 8-14 days for the investigation to run its course and that I should call back then. I said, "Okay." Then in Feb, I wrote letters to all 3 of the credit bureaus asking them to take the 30-day late hit off of my credit report. I tried this in desperation. They all wrote me back and their answer was NO. And I don't blame them for this one bit. They report what HD tells them to and this wasn't their fault. However, I figured I should cover all my bases and try. I did and it was obviously not successful.

At 11am on 2/19/2009, I spoke with a HD credit services rep (Nikki **). I wanted to find out the results of my investigation. She said that there was no bank error found and there was nothing that HD could do for me. I asked for her to escalate me to some sort of credit resolutions team so I could talk to a decision maker. She informed me that they would tell me the same thing and that the investigation serves as their escalation process. I expressed to her my disappointment and that I would have to find alternate mean to get this issue resolved. That is where I am at right now. Either HD didn't send me a bill OR the post office screwed up. Either way, not my fault as companies are OBLIGATED to ensure bills get to their customers.

On 6-12-08, I purchased a $3524.26 shed. Home Depot offered a three hundred dollar rebate ($100 for every $1000 you spend) on this shed. I received all the information and the rebate form in the mail, along with the address, receipts and instructions for obtaining my $300 rebate. I was sent a $59 rebate check thanking me for the appliance I had purchased. I returned the $59 rebate to the rebate center and a letter explaining the situation. Again, I received another $59 rebate.

I e-mailed the customer service center at The Home Depot and was told to contact the rebate center @1-800-301-9207 because there was nothing they could do. I called and called only to get the run-around. I was told to go to the Home Depot store and call. After explaining the situation with the sales associate at special services (which is where I purchased the shed), he dialed the number and put the phone on speaker. We spoke with a lady named Carla on speaker phone. Carla stated she would look in the archives to find the rebate form and for me to call her in three days. The number she left was a voice mail of a male, wherefore, I left numerous messages and to this day, received no response.

I then wrote the manager of the Home Depot, where I originally purchased the shed, and sent him a copy of all the e-mails, letters, receipts, and even the check, in hopes to get some response. This was on 11-17-08. I have not heard one iota of a peep from anyone to this day at the Home Depot. I have concluded, with all the wasted time and effort, the only choice is to contact Action 9, a local TV station that handles consumer complaints and expose the culprits on national television. This will serve them right.

Purchased Aprox. 15-24 N:Vision bulbs from Home Depot. The bulbs advertise a 7 year warranty on this product. Around one year time has passed and multiple bulbs die within a 2 week period. One almost caught on fire and a terrible burning smell. I put in a warranty email request. One month goes by without even a verification that they have received my email. So I called them. They advised that they receive hundreds of warranty claims and can take about a month to get back to a customer. Waited 2 more weeks and received an email stating that now they need a receipt faxed or emailed back. I called them and told them I didn't know we were required to save a receipt for a period of seven years.

Kurt ** advised me that I can go back to Home Depot give them my credit card and they will print out all my receipt. Great. I go back to home depot to do this and was advised that they only save receipt for a period of 90 days. I called back spoke to Kurt ** Phone and he stated to be sorry for wasting my time. But nothing I can do that we have recently changed our policy in February to require receipts. Even though I filed a claim in January of 2009. He didn't care. I offered to ship all the defective bulbs back. NO. I offered my credit card number to go back to Home Depot, NO.

My opinion, their bulbs can't last seven years. They're receiving hundreds of warranty emails a day on their defective products. They changed their policy to create a loophole on not warranting the majority of there product. They use their line to go back to home depot while they can't help. All of the date codes are on every bulb. I have tried everything to get this replaced. They are trying to scam the American people among their weak defective products. Thank god my house did not burn down. I still have all the defective bulbs on my desk. Buyer Beware.

We filled out all necessary paperwork at the store before we left and were supposed to receive it about a month later... We waited... nothing!! We went back to the store... and apparently the department where they send this stuff made a mistake on the receipt+... So it was refaxed from their store again... 2 months go by and still nothing. We went back... had the same lady deal with us again. She calls them and apparently the story she finds out is the finance company has changed hands... and they lost the information...

How is this our problem... You get the Idea... After doing this process at least 2 more times, we finally received our rebate on February 22, 2009. This was a very aggravating experience for us and are last one we will be having... WE WILL NEVER DEAL WITH HOME DEPOT AGAIN....PERIOD!!!!!!!!! They are a complete bunch of useless morons. Their customer friendliness is well presented, however there is nothing they can do for you. We traveled 2 hours in our car using our gas each time trying to resolve this matter and they never even tried to offer any compensation for their mistake!!!!!!! I strongly advise anyone out there if considering buying from them to buy from a smaller outfitter... You might spend a little more... But you are helping someone out instead of putting them under. Also if you need anything afterwards, they are willing to help!!!!!!!!!!

I was fired from Home Depot after 2 years working at the store. Some manager used a technicality with a supposedly-falsified time sheet as an argument to fire me, which was not true. The manager saw that I was on time at the store. In my hurry, I forgot to punch in the time clock and I filled out a time sheet as a consequence. I'm a very responsible worker with any work I do, my work record is clean anywhere I have worked, and I have never been fired before. This situation is prejudicial to me in a great manner, because I'm having severe economic consequences. The Unemployment Insurance Agency has denied my application that I deserve by law.

HOME DEPOT IS LYING BY STATING THAT I WAS FIRED BECAUSE I WAS FALSIFYING TIME SHEETS (!) which is completely false. That argument is affecting me enormously in getting a new job because companies ask Home Depot the reason why I left the job. When I asked Home Depot representatives about their statements, they lied to me that they did not inform them why I got laid off. This is completely contradictory to the truth. My relations with all workers and customers always have been neat, professional and friendly. There were some workers that were causing me extreme tension, because they indirectly threatened me with insults and discrimination. This situation I kept to myself, and instead in many cases, I made those people friendly and peaceful to me and I never wrote any complaints about them.

During the two years I worked at Home Depot, I was under severe work pressures, working for long periods of up to 9 hours non-stop, and I did not even pause to get any food or water. I have my work-time records that can be compared with the company's records. Those pressures damaged my health for life, with my having to have had three heart procedures with two stents, and so my heart condition is not good right now. Further, it is now impossible for me to get another heart surgery because I do not have any health insurance at this time. Actually, for a long time I have had to pay bills myself arising from these procedures. As a further consequence, I have not been sending family support for a long time because I can only just pay doctors bills, room rent, car, food, etc.

I think this is not fair to me, because I have contributed to this country, like a professional with a college degree (Civil Engineer), with a very good work ethic, in many cases educating people at work, organizing, maintaining high work standards for very little money due to my immigrant status.

Recently, they decided under the universal clause that they can do a credit check and they decreased my limit. When I tired to explain to them my situation, they did not want to hear it. Unfortunately, people in this company have no brains. They read you a script and try to pacify you!

In a way, they are discriminating against people because when you are willing to provide them with proof, they do not want it and that is wrong. I will be canceling my card with them. Over the years, we have invested in them and this is not the way to go... I guess they would rather lose a customer than keep one. They did that. After 10 minutes, I asked them to page an associate again. Another 10 minutes passed so I went looking for help. I found an associate but he could not help since he did not know where I could find the item that I needed. I told him that if he knew where the plumbing associate was and he said, "Probably at lunch. Everyone went to lunch and only he and another person were available." I gave up and headed to LOWE'S where as soon as I walked in, someone asked me if they could direct me to an area.

I said, "Please direct me to plumbing,” they did. In the plumbing area, I found a person that was knowledgeable and very helpful. He found the tool I need to remove my old shower stem, found the correct stem for my Moen faucet and asked if I needed anything else? I said, "Please direct me to your manager so I can tell that person what a pleasure it was to shop here." I found the manager, told him about my Home Depot experience and how his staff was so superior in comparison. He stated that with the type to service that Home Depot provides, he see them closing that store in one year due to poor sales. Outraged, I questioned them to as why on the statements there is not one mention of this.

Also, at a trip to Home Depot, I mentioned this to a sales person and stated that their promotions weren't so great when you were getting socked with accrued finance charges. I wondered out loud as to why we didn't have a choice to accept the promotion or not. He stated that, "that's just the way it goes." Today, February 6, 2009, I was shopping at the Home Depot store, River Dale Coon Rapids, Minnesota. I was in the plumbing department to find a replacement filter for my ice maker. I had brought the old one for reference and found its replacement (with many others) above the store's (stick on) sales price. At check out, the clerk had difficulty having it scanned so he called plumbing department and then made another call and received the item number. As it rang up it became ten dollars more, he asked me if this was correct and I told him No!

There was a line of other customers building behind me so I asked that he take care of these customers and I would go back and check the price to make sure I had read it correctly. When back at the item I saw I was indeed correct when a woman employee approached me and said she was also going to check on the price. She removed the item from the shelf and noted it was marked with the wrong price. When I questioned her, she asked for assistance from a male employee. He also stated that it was mismarked. The woman employee then stated to her co-worker that because it was marked with the one price, should we sell it as marked. She was told that he couldn't because sometimes people move items. So I asked him if people could just come into the store and stock the shelves and really had access to the sales stickers.

Point: In having thirty six years in Law Enforcement, the last sixteen as a Forensic Scientist and conducting many interviews with people of varying degrees of criminality I know when someone is giving me a line. The very idea that anyone would believe this story was all it took to push me to your competitor's store. I might also advise you not only did I find the item on three separate shelves they were all marked properly AND six dollars cheaper. Thank you in advance for your time.

On 1/31/09 at approx. 2:23 pm, I purchased a few home repair items from our local Home Depot. I paid the bill with an American Express credit card. After receiving my credit card back, I put it in my wallet, then left my wallet on the check out counter. I took my purchases to my car, opened my car door and checked for my wallet which is a habit I've developed before driving. My wallet was missing. I went directly back to the check out counter. From leaving the first time from the check out counter to discovering that my wallet was missing and returning, it was in all, less than three minutes. On returning to the check out counter, my wallet was not there.

I asked the clerk who waited on me if anyone had turned in a wallet. There was very quick no. She quickly turned to avoid any further contact. It seemed strange. I went back to my car and immediately called my wife to have her cancel my credit cards, at which point she immediately called The Home Depot to ask if a wallet had been turned in. My wallet had been turned in .She went to pick it up. When I got it back, I checked the contents. All my credit cards, driver's license and other pertinent info was intact. The money I had, approx 160 dollars was missing, a five-dollar bill was left. I should be, and am grateful that may wallet was returned at all. But I would have been a lot more grateful if when the wallet was seen, and be returned to me intact and my money not stolen.

As the time passed being only a couple of minutes before I returned to retrieve the wallet, and the time to turn it in was only a few more minutes, I have my suspicions as to who removed my money. If you maintain camera surveillance over your checkout counter, you can either confirm or repute my suspicions. Either way, I am going to be very reluctant to shop at any Home Depot again and will probably do my trading at the local Ace Hardware store or the local privately-owned hardware store in our area where I know no one will steal from me.

The one we wanted was a little out of our price range, at the time so we decided to wait. Without telling my wife, I decided to sell one of my old shotguns to free up a little cash, so I could surprise her with the new ceiling fan when she returned from out of town. The price of the fan was $249.00 plus tax, which I honestly felt was a fair price to pay for such a nice add-on to the living room. I not knowing how to hang the fixture hired a neighbor who does home improvements for a living for the task.

After he removed the old fan and installed the new one, it did not work. After he tried and tried for over two hours to figure out what was wrong with the fan, he discovered that the fan it self was the problem. With the store closed and my wife soon to be home I asked him if he would consider fixing the fan if possible. He did find that what he called the common wire built in to the fan was not at all hooked up to the motor. It was a simple repair he declared and we were then able to fix the problem. I was very unhappy that my wife returned home to find us with the house a mess, and us still working. It really turned a nice surprise in to a nightmare both timely and emotionally. I am hoping that you will send this complaint to your quality control so that this can be prevented in the future. Thank you for taking time to hear of my experience, I hope it makes a difference.

Due to several communications with different individuals involved, I feel like I have been bent over the barrel. I was told that the spa had to run for 16 hours in order reach factory preset temperature. I followed enclosed instructions to the "T". After running 5 or 6 hours, it had only heated up 1 degree. I called back and asked if there was a heater for the unit. The QCA technician told me to get in touch with Spaguts.com to find a heater. I did, and spoke with a young lady by the name of Nancy. She told me to go to a website that sold in-line heaters.

According to what was found there I ordered from Homedepot.com the heater. Which I have since returned because it would not work on the spa as stated. I was supposedly given credit for the heater. I talked to Tammi at QCA again and was told it would cost only $.75 a day to run the spa. Furthermore, they wouldn't take it back since I had used it. I told her I had not used it. Simply followed the instructions that came with it. I talked to a Florida Power and Light Representative and gave him the statistics of the motor and how long it must run. He stated that it would add at least $50 to $60 a month to our light bill. I then called a man by the name of Chris at Your Other Warehouse supposedly owned by Homedepot.com. I told him that I had been under a lot of stress behind this Spa and all the runaround behind it. I called to question how my payments are disbursed between revolving and promotional. I also asked if the terms and conditions were available online and how the late charges are determined. I was told that the late charge is based only on my revolving. When I pointed out that the plain language on the statement and the total amount included the promotional, they gave me some balderdash that made no sense at all. I found this very deceptive and unhelpful. I also questioned how they can charge 22.99% for an interest rate which I believed to be illegal and they said it is legal. The difference in the late payment (I was late because their day for payments ends at 3 PM). I was also told that when I make a payment online or in person that I have to call to direct how the payment will be distributed among the various categories.

This is the most confusing and to be cynical deceptive credit system I have ever encountered. They essentially have a monopoly in my area and act like it. I noticed that some suits have been filed on these issues; have they been resolved yet? Any information would be helpful because I am paying much more attention to these matters during these stressful times. Also, they tried to pitch me on a "balance-protector" at each stage of contact until I finally got to Shane, the Resolution Specialist. He resolved nothing. They both gave the good people of Tennessee a bad name!

The Home Depot Store in Scottsboro, Alabama (store #0812 zip code 35769) has to have undoubtedly the worst in store phone system in all retail department stores in Northeast Alabama. They have a department directory which hardly ever works, and when you do finally get an associate on line you cannot hear them due to the poor in store phone quality. More times than one over the last several months I have contacted the operator "0" to connect me with a department.

Then the sales associate I need to talk with on my issue may be with another customer and I request to hold. Guess what customer service or some other department associate will pick up and I go through the deal again why I am on hold; I may get transferred back to the original department or I could get transferred to another department I have no interest in, or worse get lost and have to call back again!! Phone communication is a vital link for customers who want to talk with a real person when they have a problem and I personally think Home Depot could have a better phone system installed in this store than they presently have.

They have a total line of good products, good in store customer service, good sales associates, good warranty services, and fair pricing. BUT their phone system is a killer and I know it is costing them some business lost to other retail stores in the area like Sears, Lowes, and Wal-Mart. I got my aggravation button mashed again this morning about this matter so I am sharing it thorough this complaint system. I will see what comes from this detail complaint or see if this online complaint system is as sorry as the phone system in this store. Smile, have a good day, you can do it, Home Depot can help!!

Requested via fax to base Home Depot hr for set hours due to strokes/BP and was denied due to wording not specific on date of ending set hours. I cannot give them such with strokes and high BP. I requested at first in Nov. and had to request neurologist to reword in Jan. The stress is making it hard to work the various hours required. I tried to speak with scheduler and her comment was to get Atlantic hr to okay hours.

We paid off our bill of $3,700. We called first to see how much we owed and the Chase card added some more to the bill for just to make sure we would not owe any more. We used Chase card to pay off Home Depot because Chase was only 3% so a bank transfer was sent to Home Depot for the amount they said. They said we would get $78.00 and I asked at least four times. I called once a day and they said it would take 3 weeks or so. Then we only got one check for $39.74. Then I called to see where the other one is and the lady said they have interest and they don't add that on when we ask for the total. Karen said it's not possible to do that at the time I asked for the total to pay off. So they took around $39.00 as interest on the total we paid off. You think they could figure out how much interest would be on the $3,700 bill if that was true. I say it a rip off to charge interest on a paid off bill and say they don't know the interest at the time I call to pay it off. Thanks.

In making a Home Depot purchase I was asked to sign up for a Home Depot credit card that provided for interest free - no payments for one year credit. One month prior to the end of the year period the credit card balance was paid in full. The following month a statement was received billing for a "Promotional Balance" demanding payment with the threat of billing interest on the balance of the original purchase if not paid within the required period. The damage will relate to the amount of the unsolicited/unknown "Promotional Balance" billing or related credit issues that may result if not paid.

I thought I had an $8,500 Line of credit through Home Depot's Credit Card Program. After missing my December 08 payment of $10, my card was put into an inactive status, and unusable at the counter. I paid cash, and closed my account over the phone. The term credit to me means that it is available because the company believes I will pay it back. Under my card terms, I have agreed to pay certain penalties if I miss a payment. It appears that the terms of credit card have changed for HD since I opened the account in October 08. My good standings with the big three credit report agencies doesn't seem to mean anything.

Why does Home Depot sell gift cards online if you can't use them on Homedepot.com? I just got royally screwed for Christmas. I asked for Home Depot gift cards to buy a new set of fireplace doors. The store said I had to purchase my door online because they stocked the product. just not my size. It can only be purchased at Homedepot.com. I just think if you sell the gift card online, you should be able to use them online.

I went to this location last night at about ten till 6 in desperate need to rent a carpet cleaner. I spoke to Ferrian (not sure of correct spelling, I apologize) at customer service and she was extremely nice and helpful. I told her I wanted to rent the carpet cleaner and she said it would have to be done through Tool Rental. She turned to a guy and asked him if they were closed. He said "Yes, I have already closed out my register. I hate to do this, but you could try Lowe's or Publix. They rent carpet cleaners." I then asked him what time he closed and he replied 6 PM. I looked at my watch and it was five minutes till 6. I told him the time and he replied "I haven't had a customer in an hour and a half and I am already closed." I replied with, "Well, you have a customer now." He said for me to come back at 8 AM and he would rent one to me at that time. I told him I have to work and I need one now. He then proceeded to tell me how wonderful your machines were - the suction is so much better, it will be faster, etc.

People generally prefer Home Depot to Lowe's because of the wonderful customer service Home Depot instills in its employees. Unfortunately, in this situation, Home Depot has failed its reputation. I did call the store this morning and speak with the Operations Manager, Lee. He was very apologetic and understanding of my frustration. He explained to me that no matter the time the register is closed, they still have the ability to open it. He told me he would speak with the man that refused to open his register to rent me the carpet cleaner and if there is anything else he can do to make it right to please let him know. He also offered if I need to rent anything in the future to notify him and he will do it for free. This is more like the level of customer service I and others expect from Home Depot.

I am in a customer services oriented business and have learned over the years that it's not the good experiences clients remember, it's the bad ones.

Manager at Halsted store (**) will not honor Home Depot card. She said that she would call the police if I would not leave the store. She said that the company that rents space from Home Depot has nothing to do with Home Depot. Or deliver the said glass window under fair value.

I wanted to purchase a stained glass window on the upper level of your store. Plus add on the difference in price which was fine. She told me to get out of the store. The card was not valid at Home Depot…Big problems on Home Depot’s part. The company is a third party owned (rented) and rented and operated out of your Halsted location Home Depot which makes your company liable.

You are being filed with a $50,000 charge against my fine credit and against character slander city standing. Posted in the city of Chicago on 2/18/09 if not notified. I feel that your manager should be dismissed because of her bad attitude and lack of any ability of management policy or legal policies. I will file a writ within the next ten days.

When purchasing gift cards online, Home Depot does not inform customers gift cards cannot be used to purchase anything online - which is misleading because many people purchase gift cards for themselves or others hoping to purchase specialty items online that are not available in local stores. Reading the other complaints at this sites shows that this has been happening for a long time. The gift cards do not carry the warning and the envelope they come in explaining Program Terms and Conditions do not carry the warning either.

I called Homedepot.com and they acted like they were a separate company from Home Depot. I went to visit a local store and was told they cannot order a specialty item because it is internet only. So I just got duped out of $400 and 3 hours of my time wasted. The fact that this has been happening so long indicates Home Depot is doing this with intent to increase sales, which is unethical and fraudulent.

I would like to know how much a replacement will cost. The only info that I have on it is: Charm Patio Swing by Hampton Bay #395 346. This is a Three-Person Swing, Dimensions: 89L X 60W X 66-1/2H.
