    I like the cellular aspect to the Frontpoint devices. But installing the device was more difficult than it should have been. Some of the sensors didn’t work and we had to send some stuff back, and the instructions for the panel they gave me wasn’t very good. Customer service has been satisfactory though and I have more peace of mind knowing that I have an alarm system.

    I used to have another home security system but I didn't like it so I decided to look for a new reliable security system online and Frontpoint was the first thing that popped up. Frontpoint has good customer service in general. I had people install the alarm monitor but I had the cameras installed by a private installer. I have two dogs and I like to have them protected so whenever I'm gone, I use the alarm's stay option and no entry delay. It's activated whenever the door is being opened. It's reliable and I like it.

    When one of the sensors went faulty, nobody ever recognized it and we were never told about it. We didn't realize it until we personally checked in on it. They should have let us known something was wrong with our system. With my wife being at home that time it was definitely a concern. It pretty much seemed liked there was no real care from them.

    I Googled to see what was the best security system and Frontpoint's ratings were good. I've used Frontpoint as my home security service provider for about a year and a half. The security device was easy to install but they did not give me the exact information I needed. I did not know that I needed to get a permit from the police department in order to activate my security system. I got charged for two months that my security system was not yet activated because I was waiting for the confirmation from the police. While I was waiting for the permit, my house was broken into. So angry. I also read a little bit more and I see that this alarm is more popular in the East Coast than in the West Coast so that's another thing.

    The sales representative, Vinny, was really helpful in explaining the options and the prices that we had to get. I like the fact that I could have different code for every person in the house. If my crew or contractor has to come in I can just give him the pin which is really great. The notifications are good so this way I know who came in and went out, and that's part of the service.     Frontpoint uses a totally different technology. It is completely cellular/wireless (accessible via my cellphone) so it is much better than the one I used before. Installing the device was fairly easy as well. They configured and shipped it to us and then walked us through the process when we got it.     Frontpoint is our first ever security service provider and we have them for a year and a half now. Our decision to avail their service is a combination of their features, pricing, and flexibility as well. Their mobile app is convenient because we always leave the house and forget to turn it on. We've shot ourselves in the foot two or three times and had it go off due to that. It has gone off a few times and Frontpoint called when they were supposed to. At one point when they couldn't access us because of where we were, they had the police drive by, but it was not a problem. We now have a little bit more peace of mind when we're away.

    I was looking for a home security system for my boss' single family home and I came across a couple of different options. Frontpoint had the best reviews that I saw on a couple of different websites. So I went forward with it. I thought installing it was going to be more difficult. I just set everything up based on what I read and what I was told. I was able to call Frontpoint, finalize the whole set up process, and they helped me along the way whenever I had questions. It was a breeze. Moreover, I use the mobile app on my phone so I alarm the house from it. I set my phone number up as the primary number and gotten a couple of calls for alarms going off.     I was comparing ratings of home security systems online and Frontpoint was either the top or close to the top so I went with them. It's been two years since I have them. Installing the device is complicated as the house is big - you have to put up all the sensors and control panel, the motion sensors ideally need to be installed at chest level which I'm not a fan of. Other than that, I've called eight or ten times due to minor issues and all of them were great except for one person.

    I used to have another home security but it was not as technologically advanced as Frontpoint. With Frontpoint, it is a lot better. I now have a camera system.     Frontpoint security system was easier to install compared to my previous home security service provider. They're also easier to work with. I only had one problem with the glass break sensor when I was putting it on the ceiling. I thought it was already activated but I called and they helped me right away. Their mobile app is also great and it's the only way I use it. I once had a false fire alarm and they called me right away, told me everything was okay, and they shut it off. I also called in to order some supplies to hold up one of the sensors that fell. They were able to help me instantly. Overall, being able to access the system from my phone makes me feel I'm more connected to my house and know what's going on when I'm not at home.

    Everything is going fine with Frontpoint. It went off once in the middle of the night. Something had crashed so it worked, which is good. But when we got the call, the people overnight couldn't tell us what sensor it was that set it off. I don't know if that's not a feature that they all have yet. We hadn't known that a painting had fallen off the wall that time, and the people on the phone couldn't tell us in which zone triggered the alarm. They just knew that the alarm went off. If they had known, it would have helped us.

    Megan, great point, and we actually have the ability to tell you which sensor was set off by an alarm- but better yet, so do you! If you go onto your MyFrontpoint.com account you can re-name all your sensors based on where they are within your home, and you can look up "alarming events" and it should tell you exactly which sensor set your alarm off.

    For example you may see "Dinning room motion sensor" was the one that set your alarm off. If you have any trouble doing this please just let us know and we would be happy to help you do this!

    Frontpoint was the security provider in a company I was working with and that's how I got into it. We got it in the front and back door in my mama's house. The installation was a no-brainer -- a six-year-old kid could put it in. The system is expensive for what you get - a monitor, the two-door thing, and the motion detector. Also the system only has one dimension. Another drawback is that you can't talk to a representative face-to-face. However, I did recommend them to a couple of people.

    There were a few misunderstandings and they were all taken care of upfront. There were issues with the way that we're paying it, but that's been worked out. The only issue that I'm having currently I pretty much narrowed it down based on the help from Frontpoint's technical people. The cameras that I'm monitoring won't show and will give me an error message or an alarm sound. I did talk to Frontpoint and they basically said it was because of a weak signal or not getting the exact amount of download or video speed that I'm supposed to be getting.

    They made a recommendation to get a signal enhancer for the camera in the basement, which I did, but I'm still experiencing problems. So I called Comcast, but they blame Frontpoint and the cameras. I said "Well, I've already had technical people check the speed and we're not always getting the speed that we are supposed to be getting." So I'm stuck. I guess my only choice is to get a stronger or a different modem (I'm currently using Comcast modem). So, as far as I'm concerned, everything that Frontpoint is providing seems to be working okay.

    I was looking for a security system for one of our other residences, and we were looking for the wireless deal because we wanted a way for us to control and let the utilities be flexible enough to be in somebody else’s name like family members using the property. Installing Frontpoint's security device was simple. As a matter of fact, my 12-year-old assisted me in doing that. I use their mobile app all the time and it's pretty cool. I just wish I didn’t have to log in for each of my two systems in order to access them through the mobile app. I have them in different locations and wish I could access two systems at one time and not have to remember two usernames and two passwords. That’s the only downfall. But I can access both systems online.

    Robert ** of Frontpoint Security called on in August (8/11) to discuss my feedback which was not very positive (based on my honest experience). I spent a lot of time explaining very sincerely why I had given a review that essentially was not good (rather poor). I did make clear that my issues were mainly with the hardware not working for me, but the technical customer service was outstanding all through the issues I was having. He listened patiently and was very good listener. We have multiple calls between us. I am happy to state that he meant business when he said he wants to make necessary amends to keep me happy.

    After some discussions, he gave me multiple options with details to resolve all my issues - including giving me full refund as one option! Based on the positive response, I decided to accept one of his options that would work for me and decided to continue with Frontpoint and serve out the balance contract. Overall, Frontpoint has cared to address my issues and I am very happy to continue with this company!

    I recently got Frontpoint and what really surprised me is it is very difficult to set it up because they just give you a box of sensors and you have to install it. I'm a technical guy but the installation has been pretty bad. I made about 15 calls to Frontpoint over time because the layout of my house and the range of the sensors and transmitters were not considered in the design. They had powerful transmitters, but they didn’t send me any and my house is a hundred feet deep. Some of them were not working correctly because it is out of way. They give a two-sided tape that didn’t work well on all surfaces so one of the sensors fell off to the floor. The tapes may have worked for a couple of months, but then they just drop. And when they drop, it becomes a problem. If I'm traveling in the country and this happens, next thing I know I'm looking at the cops going to my house. And cops charge us for all the false calls.

    I got the system very recently and I had to sign a three-year contract. But unfortunately, I’m selling my house and I'm moving to California. When I called, they said I can take everything with me. But so far, my experience does not give me confidence that this thing will work reliably, especially when I'm not at home. It starts to act up so it is a lot of tension and stress. If this is what the wireless system is all about, then I don't know what to do because I signed the contract. And since my home in California is rented, it won't be available till next year. So I will still have to pay monthly charges even though the device will be in a box. I will not be using it since I'm staying in my friend's home and he has an alarm system.

    But I would have loved to recommend them since it looks like it works fine for most people. But I went to a lot of hassles and even talked to their supervisor. Because I only got everything working after four shipments and exchanges. And they didn’t make any amends for the hassle I went through. I’ve been paying the monthly premiums but they just gave me a credit for one month. From a designer's perspective, I believe, this product is lacking in one area. Mounting of the sensors and receivers is not assured to work in one shot unless you have very simple door frames. If you have custom homes and have fancy door frames with designs and chiseling, there is no way to align the transmitter receiver by trying to stick them on the frame and on the door. They are designed to be removed easily. It took a lot of work on my part to get them working. They worked, but then I get this false call. The purpose of the alarm is to give you peace of mind, but it is just the opposite.

    I decided to use Frontpoint because of the easy installation, price, and the fact that it was cellular versus a hard line. You peel the back and stick them, so installation was quite easy. Their mobile app works good. They're probably one of the first ones to do it and that's another reason why I went with them. When we forgot to lock our backdoor, it was opened by somebody and we and the police were alerted immediately. It worked well. We have more peace of mind that the house is secure.

    I was not happy with my previous provider for they were raising their rates again so I went looking for other security systems. And now comparing Frontpoint with my previous provider, they are like night and day. The previous one was so old-fashioned and simple while Frontpoint security is better with their wireless

    monitoring, customer service and equipment. I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck. Installing it was easy even though I'm not mechanically inclined. I just peeled the little strip off and held it there for a few seconds. It adheres quite well.

    My only dislike is the monitoring fee. I wish I had waited a few months for that's when they started advertising the SimpliSafe which would have been a third of the monitoring fee. But I would still recommend Frontpoint to anybody.

I don't have as good of an understanding of their system as what I had with my previous one. They had attempted to explain everything but it doesn't always work quite the way. Since I'm not the type of person that likes installing things, I don't feel like I have anyone I can call on. I should have a trial period and also have a part that I need to have replaced right now.     I've had Frontpoint for three years already. I hated installing the device for I had to do it myself. I have a different type of house than what they thought I had and the windows didn't match up. They need someone to come and help people because all houses are not built the same. So the whole first year, it was not even activated because I couldn't get it to work. I was unhappy but there was nothing I could do since I was locked into a contract. I paid around 40 bucks a month for a year and a half without any service. Then finally, I got a man who was kind enough to stay on the phone and help me set up.

    This experience would cause anger but the actual system itself is a different issue for I do like it. It's easy to use and adequate for my needs. However, it is more expensive than the other brands so I am thinking of switching. I'm going to call them and say that unless they give me a better deal, which I know they can do but they probably won't, I'm going to go to other providers that's just as good.

    I chose Frontpoint because it’s wireless and convenient. I feel safer after installing my security device. However I had issues when I was adding people to the system, like house cleaners. Somehow it would drop off and randomly disappear so my house cleaners wouldn’t be able to get into the house.     There was an old hardwired system in the house when I bought it but it was not hooked to anything and it was just noise. I was changing out windows and doors and I thought I'm just going to modernize so I went with Frontpoint. It was easy to install. I've checked on the mobile app a couple of times and also have access to it online through my computer to look how things are functioning.

    The garage door sensor went bad immediately and they replaced that. It was a quick process. And the only thing about that sensor is they don't care for the cold winters. The batteries die quick so you got to replace batteries in it. I go through about two batteries a winter. It's plain battery that goes in there but it's easy to change out so I keep a supply on hand. And it tells me the battery is low in the monitor so I just go out and change. Also, the extreme cold temperature makes the garage door sensors stick and won't go. So I need to go out, give it a tap and it works. But all the other sensors keep working.

    My husband heard about Frontpoint at work, and now we have them for two and a half years this summer or spring. I had the fire department stop at my house one night because I set off the alarm unintentionally by burning popcorn. The Frontpoint people phoned me and talked me through that. We had a different security provider before so it's a different system now. I wrote down all they told me on a piece of paper and had it taped beside the system. I thought that’s really stupid because if somebody breaks in, all the directions are right there so I took it away but now I don’t know where I put it so I have to phone them again and get them to go through it with me.     I started researching for the best home security service and learned about Frontpoint. They were without a doubt listed on every site I went to as the leader, as the best home security service provider. So I started researching the products, what they offered, and their service, and I made my decision based on that. I determined what I needed -- how many sensors I was going to need for my windows and doors -- and then I placed the order on their website. Within a few days, I received the box that was extremely well-organized, that laid out and walked you through exactly where to put each sensor and how that sensor is going to correlate with the motherboard for the control device. Installing the sensors was just peeling off a little adhesive strip and putting it on -- it was that simple. I walked around each window and door and it took five seconds to install.     There was one time shortly after we installed the alarm system that we built a deck onto our house. So I needed to add another sensor for a sliding glass door that I didn't previously purchase. I called them and told them that and they honored the discount that I got originally even though it wasn't in their policy. They did that and gave me an excellent deal on the sensor that I had to have. They were really polite and pleasant and I received the extra sensor in just a couple of days, so it was great. So now it's been a little over a year that we've used Frontpoint as our home security service provider. Being able to access and control our system on the go with the mobile app is essential. It's the only way my wife and I ever arm and disarm our system.

    Frontpoint has been great so far and we have a funny experience with it. My wife threw out one of the glass break sensors the other night and the next morning, I get a call at work from her. She told me that the alarm went off and she was freaking out since a car sped off immediately thereafter. I told her to go ahead and dial in the alarm to see which sensor it was and go from there. She asked what was the bookshelf sensor and if we have one there. I told her yes and that she was cleaning it last night. She said that she threw it in the garbage can and I took the garbage out that morning. When the dump truck came, emptied the garbage and went, all the glass starts making all that frequency and it shut it off. The car speeding away was the dump truck. So far, the system's good, as long as my wife’s not throwing out the sensors.

    Putting all of the pieces up were easy and I've mistakenly set off the alarm when I was putting it together, but the customer service had been really helpful. I've clarified any issues with the system with their team. When I've had people come into my house to install things/fix things, people have knocked the sensor off because they are just being negligent but Frontpoint has been helpful in helping me fix that and not charging me to get a new sensor out.     Frontpoint was my choice for my home security because of the reviews. Installing my Frontpoint security device was easy but the selling point was the Frontpoint mobile app wherein I can control my system on the go. It was a lot easier to do that. I had some issues the last couple of days, everybody was helpful, but depending on who you talk to you get different advice and knowledge. It was weird. In addition, I find myself explaining all the time about what the setup is, what it looks like, and where I have things pointed. I think it would be easier if they could at least see what I'm talking about either via a picture or a technician. I'd still definitely recommend them though.

    We're not totally sure if we're very satisfied with Frontpoint. We've been with them for a year now, but the system has not proven to be reliable. It goes off from motion sensors in the house even if it really shouldn't. We've gotten to the point where we're not very comfortable with the system and it keeps on sending in false alarms whenever we have it on. We're not confident that our 15-pound dog isn't going to set off the motion detectors every time. We have these things up good and high and they ought not to be set off by a little dog but for whatever reason, the equipment is not ignoring it. We're now afraid to leave the house with the motion detectors on. The doors and windows are nowhere near as important for where I strategically put these sensors so what good is it then? We've addressed it on several occasions and we're not really very happy about it.

    I heard about Frontpoint from a friend of mine in Albuquerque who had done a thorough analysis and knew all the different pros and cons of all the different services. I also needed an internet access but at a lower price. In all the other companies, you can get internet access but it's always a premium option. It's really hard to get internet access at a lower price point. Frontpoint is my first home security provider and I have it for less than a year. I have used Frontpoint mobile app. Being able to access and control my system while on the go is very important. With the other companies, it's too expensive to do that. Installing my security device was straightforward and easy. There was one sensor that was problematic but the people on the phone are really experts and took care of it. They're very responsive and know what to do. They're exceptional. Of all the people we deal with on the phone, they would get the highest level rating.

    Frontpoint’s service team is good, but we have trouble with the mobile app. The alarm itself is pretty finicky so you can’t override doors or windows from the app. We had to leave the alarm off. I've only called Frontpoint twice and it's all been very pleasant and everyone's nice and have always been helpful. The only thing I did have a problem with was getting a hold of somebody.     The system fail, sounds with no reason for 20 min. Frontpoint call me every 3 minutes to check everything was ok. They can't help me to deactivate the smoke alarm and after I broke because I was desperate. The central system was crazy... Every 2 minutes was activated. I was taking a shower with my kids... 2 and 4... and I needed left in the shower before the signal go to the police. Well the only way to stop this was disconnect everything. After 4 or 5 days call me to ask what happened with my system. I explained and ask cancel my service. They are very tricky on the questions to they do it, and turn the situation. Now I am guilty to the system fail... And if I want cancel I need pay more than 500 dls??? When the problem was the defective machines!! The customer service is sooo bad and training to be tricky.

    I have used Frontpoint close to a year now. I use their mobile app frequently, and I find it excellent to access and control the system on the go. I've also gotten a call from Frontpoint to make sure it was an actual alarm and they were good. They were much better than my previous home security provider whereas you can break and smash their equipment and they don't get the call. And then, my previous security provider called me one time, my alarm went off and they never called the police or anything. I had to call the police. So far, Frontpoint is much better.

    In addition, since I'm a single father and have two little kids, having Frontpoint installed in my house makes me feel safer and more confident. If I have to run down the street, I can on the thing and get the security system. I have set up the key fault thing that they have on the rooms. So, if someone were to come in the house and I had stepped out or something like that the kids could run to lock themselves in the rooms and put it into alarm. Frontpoint also gives us such security at night while we're sleeping. So if someone comes in, we will hear and get some help. I have also been trying to get my girlfriend to put Frontpoint in her place too. Since she has two girls too and we go away on vacation, it would be nice to know that there's an alarm system in her house when we're not around.

Finally gave up that solution and went to wire the internet connection which is most ideal.     The installation of my Frontpoint device was a nightmare because I have decorative wood jams. I called and I wanted to cancel numerous times and they told me to keep trying and do different things. They were finally nice enough and paid somebody locally to come in and do it. The guy that came in did a lousy job because he didn't do directions evidently because they were saying to put the sensor detectors four or five feet up, but he had them eight feet up. The other night, we had two people company and in the middle of the night they fell down so we're off the wall and woke everybody up. Nobody knew what the noise was. The alarm didn't go off but it just went across. Then I put them back up with new sticky tape that I went out and bought and they fell down. I don't know whether it's humidity or air conditioning.

    I called Frontpoint to check whether the motion detectors work because that was in pieces when I picked it up the second time. I didn't know my password and I've given their rep a couple that I use for everything. He said "no" and said he'll email it and he can't give me any help at all. The other thing that I was complaining about Frontpoint is I recommended them to a few people and they got a cheaper price. I called Frontpoint back and they said that I have the highest thing. I said that I don't even have a smart phone so I tried to change it and they wouldn't change it. I'm just waiting out my contract and I'll be leaving Frontpoint. I no longer tell people about Frontpoint being a good company and tell them to definitely go with somebody locally.

    In addition, it did go off one time and I told them I am on the border of Port Jervis and Deer Park. Frontpoint called Port Jervis. They didn't call and I have my friends to tell them to call Deer Park and I had already told them that, and I would think that they should know where the borders are. God forbid it was a problem, they're calling another police station. Luckily, the guy knew me and said that I don't live in Port Jervis, so he gave them the other phone number which I had already given them and explained that I was on the border. I feel like Frontpoint don't even listen to me.

The only thing that is a bit of a bummer is that you can't hardwire the main portal anywhere so we have been having a hard time finding to get the box right because there has to be a plug nearby.     Frontpoint was fairly straightforward. There was a couple of devices or motion sensors that didn't quite work correctly, and one of them was busted. But we returned it and we got the replacement quickly. We definitely like being able to access and control our system on the go. And when we first had the system installed and we were very mindful of turning the system off when we open the garage door, someone called within a minute of when we opened the garage door.     I like the fact that with Frontpoint nothing has to be permanently installed into like the fixtures of the house. Installation is very easy, user friendly.     I choose Frontpoint because of the reviews and its price. During the installation we did have some problems. They gave us a bad main unit. It said 'battery low', and we don't live at this house. This is a second home which is why we put a security system in. So they sent us a new battery and I had to travel 9 hours each way back up there to put the battery in, and it turns out it wasn't a bad battery. The unit was bad and they had to send us a new unit. So we had a lot of problems to begin with but the customer service was great.

    So far, everything has been beautiful and good with our Frontpoint home security system. We chose them because unlike to other companies that use cables and can get cut off by those who would break in, Frontpoint uses cellphones. Installation was perfect however I never set up their mobile app since I just use the keypad.

    Frontpoint security device is wireless so I just plugged it in and that was it. We use their mobile app and it's good and convenient. We hadn't had any incidence with the alarm going off for the last two years we had their service.

    I have used Frontpoint since September of last year. I got it for my new apartment and it was the first security provider I have availed. Installing it was very easy mostly because the customer service was really superb. I called a couple of times and spoke to the same person both times and she was really wonderful and in addition to being very well informed she had a superb disposition for helping out someone who is installing the security system. So, I was very impressed.

    In addition, installing Frontpoint made a big difference to me as I moved to my new apartment because I live by myself and I live in an urban area. I feel safer when I installed it in my new apartment. I have also used their mobile app and I love it. I commute between Washington D.C and New York so being able to track on the system when I am out of town or arm it from another location if I need to do that is absolutely crucial and one of the things that I like about it.

    I chose to go with Frontpoint because of the cellular that even with the power off and the line being cut, it still can be reached. Their rep is also friendly and knowledgeable. When I received the sensor and monitor the first time, there was already something wrong. We shipped it back and they replaced one, but after that everything was alright.

    It's been a year now that I've been with Frontpoint and I've had not one issue at all with their team. Even the installation part of the device at the beginning was pretty easy. I use their mobile app all the time too and it's great. The only thing that needs improvement is their prices for the monitor since they're really a lot higher than other companies. But other than that, service is good. When we setup the alarm, their people follow the procedure.

    I've had Frontpoint since 2010 and I chose them then because I am able to save more with them. I installed the device myself and one guy helped me a little bit with some sensors but it wasn't difficult. Their mobile app is the main reason why we're using it. We already have it in two offices and two homes and I can set it up with my electronic device, telephone, iPad, and I can see within my sensors and everything with it. Overall I feel safer since I know exactly what is going on and I can see everything on my iPad or on my iPhone even if I'm out of the country.

    I've had Frontpoint since February and installing it was fairly easy. I like their mobile app. It's wonderful for when I forget to turn it on or if I want to monitor anything. The only thing I didn't like was the person that was trying to help me when two sensors were not working. He was looking for any type of signal that would block the panel, kept going around with the same things and ended up sending me two new ones. When I got them, I called again and the person who answered the phone, trying to activate the sensors was very helpful and polite. The solution to the problem was that I had to move the panel in a place where the other person told me not to and everything is blocking the panel but it's working so that is weird. Other than that, I'm happy with them.

    I went with Frontpoint because of their cost and the cellular capabilities instead of the hardwired. The installation just took probably 15 to 20 minutes. It was easy. When I've had an alarm go off, they've called me first, which is good. If they didn't get in touch with me, they tried alternatives. So it's been good so far.

    Frontpoint has been our security service provider for over a year. When it came to installing the device on your own, it was very easy. No issues at all. And I get to use their mobile app every day. I like that I am able to access it on the go. The first month I had many, many, many conversations with their customer service group when I was very unhappy and wasn't sure I wanted to keep it. But they were very good, I have to say that everybody that I talked to was very helpful, and did everything they could to make me feel it was the right system for me. It takes a little getting used to. I was used to ADT. But when I got used to how it worked and what I could and couldn't do, I have been happy with it.
