    Installation & Setup

    Reviewed March 28, 2018

A home security system was required for my insurance of brand-new custom home. Frontpoint was recommended on the internet as being as the better ones on a survey of the best security system out there. I gave them a call since I have to get a security system on the house after we got our certificate of occupancy for it and I have to do it in 30 days. There was no problem during the purchase and I finished the installation within say an hour and a half. I don’t like security systems and my house is custom pre-wired for security system, but I don’t use it. I use the wireless system that I got from Frontpoint. It was cheaper for me to install it myself because it was a wireless system and it seemed to be simple rather than paying an installer. And they use my existing wire.

The features of the system are minimal as I got the extremely basic system. I have a problem with the glass-shattering device because I was told that I can’t mount it the way I want it because of the location so I deactivated it. So, I just have door and a couple of window sensors. In anyway, I don’t use the security system except for when I go away for an extended period of time. I pay $35 a month for the cost of service and yet there’s a lot of cheaper systems out there than the one I have. But they’re basically all the same and they’re all made in China.

The Frontpoint Security System I hooked up at home made me feel secured. The features are good and I like them. The installation was pretty easy and their reps were friendly enough and were very helpful. I also ordered a security system for a commercial property two weeks prior to ordering the system for the home. I was crunched for time and they told me over the phone how to change the deal. I drive trucks and at that time, I couldn’t just stop and be pushing buttons, so I couldn’t change the deal, and they didn't make that happen. The security system for my home showed up first and it was clearly marked what address it was for and all the pieces and components were all correct for that order, but it wasn’t the one for the commercial property that I thought was coming first and that never arrived before I left.

I ended up going to the commercial building the last day and stripped that out and took all my tools out there because I had to go. Then I came home three months later and the system for the commercial property was down at my mail depot, but I had no need for it any longer and I would be returning it. Other than that, I’m happy with the system I got in my home and I plan on keeping it. When I left the house and was out of the area for a few months, somebody else was watching my house and was able to disarm the system for me when I needed them to do something, and the security system was simple enough to work.a

We've had some issues in the neighborhood and we wanted to make sure we had protection. We went with Frontpoint as I wanted something that was web-based and phone-based technology. I didn't have to rely on a keypad-type system and I didn't want something that was hard-wired. I set it up myself and it was very easy. It took less than an hour to do the whole thing. The reps are very polite, easy to understand and they always try to answer my question. Hopefully I won't ever have to use them, but the testing that we did was fine. Also, the cost was reasonable and it worked for me in regards to quality and performance.

I had ADT security in my old house and I was trying to go with something that is not a hardwire system and so I was going to go with SimpliSafe. But then I started reading the reviews on it and I got scared. So I looked again and settled with Frontpoint. All the reviews for Frontpoint were really good. I didn’t want a system that if someone got to it, they can just shake it up and then it’ll be disabled. Frontpoint had a strong technology where if someone was able to get to the pad, I will still be safe and secure. Frontpoint's system is in place that it could still reach the police department and the fire department.

My interactions with the reps have been pretty good. I got the system at the end of December but I haven't really activated it because in my current home the way I want my pad to arm and then disarm it, there aren't good plugs for me to plug in the keypad. I found a spot, but I couldn't mount it because I couldn't take the front off to screw the base down. I'm still trying to navigate that so I can put it up. Also, I forgot some of the devices, so I have to reintegrate myself with the ins and outs of the system. I have the system in my hand, but not on a wall right now. I hadn’t called Frontpoint about this but one time a rep called me as I was getting ready to walk out of the house and I didn’t really get a chance. I've only had maybe one follow up call since I got it.

But the installation, when I did that the first time, was fine. My back door was kind of funky, but I had somebody get on the phone with me and walked me around as far as putting up sensors and stuff like that. They were very helpful, and the features in my system, so far, seem pretty good. It's been a while since I went over everything, but I like the fact that there are some things I can do for my mobile phone. ADT didn’t have mobile interaction, so that was why I went away from them. Frontpoint's sensors are strong, very audible, and sensitive. My back door isn't working and I would probably have to get it recalibrated with the Frontpoint people, but other than that everything seems to be working okay.

However, I didn’t like the fact that Frontpoint is making me keep their service for three years in a contract when with other people I can cancel out very easily. And I talked to so many companies. But my biggest concern was safety, so I just went ahead with Frontpoint and I'm definitely not complaining. However, if there was one thing that I can change, it will be not having to ask for such a long commitment. Frontpoint is good to very good. I can't knock it because I haven't really taken the time to recommend all the perks of it. I agree with Frontpoint and I like the services and what they are selling, so I'm okay with it.

I wanted a home security system to secure my home from theft and burglars. I was checking around and Frontpoint had a better deal, and the equipment is mine, so I can move it if I ever move again. My customer service representative was great. She was informative, let me know what I needed, what I might now be able to use, and when everything that we discussed came, it fits the house that I’m in. Installing the system was simple. Me and my son put up all the monitors, make sure they worked, and everything looked the way on the webpage and the guy showed us.

We bought all the equipment upfront, so the monitor fee isn’t bad. There are places that are lower, but Frontpoint's cost is still not bad, and I haven’t had any problem with the system from the start. With Frontpoint in our home, it secures my mind knowing that my kids are sleeping securely and that our house is secured. Also, being able to do everything from my phone gives me security. I need one more camera, but I’ll get it on Saturday somewhere because it would be a little expensive when I'll get them from Frontpoint. We really haven’t had a chance to really go through everything that the system offers, and I know there’s a little bit more, but we were just getting into the house at the time we got the system, so we just wanted something that would secure the house. And I’m secure with the way it is now. But if there’s more to it, we’ll find out, and we may add on.

My whole experience with Frontpoint up to this point has been great, and hopefully, everything will keep on going as it is. I recommended it to a couple of friends, because it’s simple, especially for people like me who don’t like a lot of other people in their home. You get to install the system yourself, and there’s not a whole lot of things you’re going to be installing.

The representative was remarkably efficient, knowledgeable and effective. I did the installation myself and it was easy. It took about an hour and a half, and it was straightforward. The quality of the system as well as the features are good so far. It’s what I was looking for. I don’t use the smart features much but I like having access to my phone. Also, the cost of the service is fair. Now, I feel better about leaving the house for an extended period of time. I've had Frontpoint for 4 months now and it works.

I recently purchased my first home and I didn’t feel safe moving from an apartment where there are tons of people. It scared me to have a house with all the exposed windows. I got Frontpoint home security system and I like the fact that it works over cellular data or cellular towers. If the electricity’s out, it still works. Also, the reviews were really good. The representative I dealt with was really nice and we had a great interaction. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and provided some sound advice. He didn’t come off as if he was just trying to sell me stuff for the sake of commission. So, I'm comfortable with the purchase in general.

I did the installation myself and it was really easy. I like everything with the features offered in the system. I have the glass break sensors, the doors and window sensors, and motion detector. So far, it works. I use the smartphone features more than the actual pad, and I like it. I had a false alarm where my dog knocked over a big aluminum trash can, it set off the glass break sensor. Luckily, I had just left the house and so I came back. When I came back, maybe within five minutes, the police were there. So, it's good to know that they also came in a good amount of time. It wasn’t an hour or four hours later that they showed up.

When I first got the system, the prices were more reasonable getting everything upfront than it is. But it was difficult because we hadn't actually moved into the house yet and so we were trying to figure out what we would need and we didn't know everything right then and there. I would like to purchase more glass sensors, but their price is high. They're over $100, which is a turnoff. I've been trying to decide if I really need it and I don’t really feel like spending on that as I can spend it on something else. Still, I've only been using Frontpoint for two months and the cost of service is reasonable.

I had ADT before and with the installation, everything had to be hardwired into my house on ADT. But with Frontpoint, it's mobile and the self-install took a very quick amount of time. Also, it’s so much cheaper to install than ADT and they have some of the best customer services I’ve ever experienced, from the sales process to technical support. And they provide a free month of service to the person who recommends them and the new buyer. We found out about them through a recommendation by someone who had them and we each got a free month of service which is a bonus.

We were broken into and we were vulnerable. When we called, we specifically needed Fort Knox and we explained what our needs were. They were like, “We think you need this and this. You probably don’t need this and this, and this.” It made me feel like they were very credible and it wasn’t like they were just trying to sell me a bunch of equipment. Anytime they call, they're very thorough and knowledgeable. If we have questions, we call them and they tell us what we didn't know. We get our resolution in one call and do not have to call back. And the quality of the equipment has been fantastic. We have two homes protected by them and we love that. We can turn the system on and off from our phone and we can get notifications about our alerts. Also, we can get arming reminders. It's super easy and I would highly recommend them.

Frontpoint is the only way to go. I was referred to them because of their customer service. I went on to their website and figured out what package was best for me. They had a lot of options. I picked one and spoke with them on the phone. It was really easy. They sent me the package and I was able to set it all up without any help. I could’ve called them and they would've walked me through the installation, but I didn’t even need their help. The information they gave me made it easy to do by myself. The instructions were detailed, but simple at the same time. Everything worked the first try.

The Frontpoint system has great features and they offered more than most packages deal from other security companies. They had everything I could want and more. I got more accessories for a better price with them. I got two cameras, a bunch of window and door sensors, and a glass break sensor. The monitoring is really great price. It's also super easy to use the app. It really works and it makes it very easy to monitor everything from the phone, the arming and disarming to replaying videos or watching a live stream through the phone. It's very smooth. The overall functionality and performance of the system is excellent, and the cost of service is also very good value for the quality. Their prices are very competitive. All in all, my experience is amazing.

We got broken into on Christmas and we needed a home security system. Frontpoint was one of the first companies I called and I had waited before setting it up. I had about two weeks to figure out if I wanted them or not because I wanted to check around for some other ones. I was calling around identifying anything that seemed better. But I went ahead and purchased Frontpoint's service to get the deal that they had going on at that time. They were the best price that I could find and I kept them. The Frontpoint sales rep was really nice when we were signing up. The installation went well and it was a simple setup. I had a couple issues with getting things aligned properly but they waited for me to get it figured out.

I went with the standard package and the installation instructions were good. However, I didn't realize that there were little arrows engraved on the side that had to meet up. I had arrows on the same side that are not facing each other, so I had to take a couple off and put them back on. It might have even been in the instructions and I might not have read them all the way through, so I got confused. Other than that, the set up was easy. The features in my system have been nice, so far and we haven't had any emergencies. I had a couple of alarms where it got set off by maintenance people coming into our apartment and not calling me first so I could tell them there's an alarm. But luckily, I caught them before the cops came in. I have cameras that I installed too so I can check and make sure it's nothing before I have them call the police on it. The system works really nice with the cameras.

Everything worked well and I don't have any qualms about the system at all. Frontpoint's service is a $35 a month cost that I'd rather not have to spend but at the same time, it gets us a sense of security back, so it feels nice to have it. If I can get away with it for free that would be great, but $35 is really not that bad. And from what I've seen, Frontpoint is fairly priced for the service that I get for it. I've had a couple of other people from other home security companies come out and do quotes, and they showed me their equipment which was basically the same for the most part. It was just their price and a couple of features that were different. But for the price, I couldn't find anything to beat Frontpoint, so I've been recommending it to people that ask about them.

We wanted to upgrade our home security system, and we auditioned three different companies including what we had before. At some point, we made a decision and we went with it, and they said that we had three years to go with it, whether we liked it or not, so it ended up. The one I had wasn’t a total sweep from Frontpoint. There are some things I wasn’t exactly happy with its kind of style and it was a problem with one of the other places so we chose Frontpoint.

The installation was fairly easy. I’m fairly competent, I’m a technical person, so I didn’t have a whole lot of issues installing and it went smoothly as I predicted. And, equipment-wise, we like Frontpoint's key panel. I didn’t like that it would have cost so much to protect all the windows and doors. Frontpoint said, “You need to protect the windows, they’re going to come in through the windows”, but with ADT, I had all the windows protected and the system would allow me to arm it without having doors closed or locked. With Frontpoint, I wasn’t able to afford to protect all of the windows. Now, I have to physically go around through the windows and make sure that my kids locked and closed the windows. Before with ADT, I knew if a window was open because they had a thing for it.

When we wanted to upgrade, we wanted to be able to monitor remotely and all three companies did that. And with the upfront charges, we didn’t go back with ADT because when I talked to three different salespeople, I got three different answers, and they refused to send me anything in writing or email me a quote so I can just do a comparison, so that was a huge negative. Everybody at Frontpoint has been helpful and great up to this point. However, there’s more interaction than I bargained for. I’d like to just protect the house, calling me when there’s an alarm, there’s a lot of checking up. And that’s appreciated, but sometimes, it can be a little much.

We moved to a new place and we have a two-story house, and I’m military, so my wife wanted a home security system. We did some Google searches on viewed alarm systems, and it seemed like every website we were working on listed Frontpoint, so then we looked into Frontpoint, and we really liked how up to date the system is with the touchscreen screen and the Crash And Smash technology that they have.

I've dealt with Frontpoint's representatives when I bought the system, and when I set it up the first time, and then when I had a problem with the doorbell, and all three times, their customer service was phenomenal. The installation was as easy as it could get. I downloaded the app and it literally walked me through step by step. The boxes and devices were all labeled. I just took off the stickers for the double-sided tape on the system, and I put them on the door like it said. And it took me about 10 minutes to set up our system. It was amazing.

Our system's features are really cool. The app is definitely what makes the security system. And the biggest thing that we use on this security system is the ability to arm and disarm it from our cell phones. We were worried about not using our security system enough, but the fact that we can actually turn it on and off through our cellphone makes us arm it all the time. It’s extremely convenient. It’s really nice that when I leave for work, my wife can immediately arm it. And while she’s upstairs doing the laundry, we can keep the security system on all the time because of how easy it is to set it and just turn it off. We like it a lot, and it definitely makes it a lot more secure with it.

So far, everything seems great. I have a doorbell camera, and it didn’t work, and I called customer service. The rep tried to walk me through resetting it and it still wouldn’t work. He sent me a new one within two days with prepaid packaging to send the old one back. The actual system is like a freestanding unit, touchscreen, and tells you the weather, and everything seems like extremely high quality.

Interacting with the people who work there has been a lot more straightforward. They send me what I order and everybody's willing to help me with what I want instead of trying to sell me what they want to sell. Also, it's very simple to install the system yourself. Frontpoint's staff can even help while I'm on the phone to make sure I'm doing things correctly. It took me 20 minutes to get things up and running.

My Frontpoint system has everything I need. It's more of a mobile portable system instead of a hardwired system like what ADT still offers. However, I still wonder about the long-term reliability of the system since most of the equipment runs on battery instead of being plugged into AC power. Still, now I can leave my home alone or empty and not be concerned. Now I feel better protected.

Frontpoint has had excellent reviews - about the only poor reviews are from people who want out of the 3-year contract for financial reasons. And at 70% of the ADT price, it was worth trying. The installation was very easy. The most difficult part was removing the old system components and making it look decent. The self-stick door sensors take approximately a minute each to install. The motion sensors took slightly longer since you have to mount with two screws.

The console took the longest time since I wanted to run the low-Voltage power to a secure outlet, and I also want to recess the console into the wall slightly (so it only sticks out 1 1/2" - not really necessary, but less likely to bump into in a busy hallway). The Frontpoint tech was very helpful in getting two additional motion sensors working that I acquired on eBay. The whole process took approximately 3 hours, mostly because of the mounting of the console. I don't have a lot of experience with the company, but so far it's a winner!

When I moved here in Arkansas from Northern Virginia I lived with my daughter and her family and decided to obtain a security system. Before Frontpoint, I had ADT. ADT was responsive when I needed them and they have very polite and courteous salespeople. But Frontpoint is better as far covering a security when the power goes out. My son-in-law did some research and he was able to tell me that Frontpoint is far superior than others.

Their sales rep pointed out the differences between ADT, Frontpoint, and Hometronics and he sold me on Frontpoint. He was very knowledgeable. Frontpoint is easier to manage than ADT. It's very easy especially since I can do everything via my cell phone. When I had ADT, I didn't have the capability of doing everything else on the cell phone like I can with Frontpoint. I’m happy with the quality of the Frontpoint equipment and its functionality is very good. I felt safe since having the Frontpoint security system.

We want to make sure that our house was safeguarded when my husband and I are both inside and outside of the home. We already had cameras around and within the house, but we wanted to have something that would actually deter somebody from coming into the house. We did a lot of research and Frontpoint got the best reviews and we had a few neighbors who had gotten the system and they raved about it. So, we felt it was a good system and we have been very happy so far.

The first rep that we dealt with was very disappointing. She seemed very eager to sell us the system, but then wouldn’t respond after the purchase we’ve made. But that was the only disappointment that we’ve had with customer service. Every other time that we’ve reached out, it has been spectacular and the customer service has been stellar. My husband did the installation and I watched him do it. It was very easy and seamless. The instructions were very clear and all the boxes were labeled clearly. He only had to call one time for a question because the sensors were taken out of the box not in order and that messed us up a little bit when we were programming system, so we got that fixed.

Frontpoint offered a lot of great products and the features that we got are great. We got the glass break sensors, and the windows and doors sensors. We ordered a couple extra of the yard signage and the signs of the house because I really wanted a visual deterrence for anybody to even think about entering the home. I also love Frontpoint’s features on the smartphone.

The quality of the equipment has been wonderful, with the exception of one of the glass break sensors that got lost. I think it was just the adhesive on the back. We had an alarm in the middle of the day and my husband and I were trying to figure out what was going on. We were able to pull back cameras that we have and we saw that the sensor was sitting on the floor in the middle of the dining room. Other than that, I feel more secure having Frontpoint and we also got one for my mother.

I wanted a basic security solution for my family and my house that we just purchased a year ago. I was looking at similar solutions like ADT and also considered other automatic solutions like Google Nest. But Frontpoint turned out to be a better fare from the reviews from online. Interactions with them were all through a phone call, but they were pretty straightforward. The representative was very helpful and patient with me, trying to walk me through the different scenarios, what kind of equipment I would need based on the specs of my house and how much equipment I would need. I almost went with the three different cameras at three different points but she recommended that two would be enough. So, that kind of constructive feedback was really good and I appreciated that a lot.

She also has been very clear right from the beginning that there was no set package and everything is customized to suit the needs of the house and the family and I was very happy about that. She walked me through the house layout as to where the doors were positioned. All in all, I was surprised and happy with the way that the call went on.

Right after the sales call, I placed the order and received the equipment at home. The installation procedure was straightforward as well although and the instructions were clear. But I had a slight difficulty in positioning which side was up and down, setting up and installing the motion and door sensors. So, I called into support and the reps were very knowledgeable and experienced. They walked me through the different steps and I was able to sign up all by myself. If it were not for Frontpoint, I would’ve almost went through with the installation fee to have someone come over and set it up. So, I’m actually happy that I was able to do it all by myself.

I had problems with the doorbell camera on three different occasions so I had to reconnect and reconfigure it. But everything else was working. My wife and I have iPhones and have the Frontpoint security mobile app installed. In fact, we'd both use Frontpoint on our Apple watches going forward. So every time we head out of the home or head back in, we wouldn't have the get the mobile phones out. We appreciate the ease of use through the watch. But I wish they could have a better price. I'm paying $50 now but I wish it could be at least $10 less. But the quality is top-notch quality. The response times have been very good and they have been spot-on. Overall, Frontpoint's good.

Frontpoint sales team was great and they basically let me walk them through a verbal picture of my house, and they recommended a lot of different things. Instead of putting window sensors on every window in a room that had a lot of windows, they were like, “Why don’t you just put a glass break sensor?” It made sense. As long as the windows can be secure, I did not need to go outside of my means, and they helped me adjust within my means. Installation was simple, too. I, however, had to watch the video a few times to really understand what was going on, and that was time-consuming. But it was fair and detailed enough.

In my current set-up, my control panel is in the main living room. We had a trip sensor the other day. It was a faulty false alarm, but the siren went off, which I know is loud, but I could not hear it from my bedroom. Nevertheless, I woke up from my phone constantly making alarm noises through the Frontpoint app, which is really concerning. An external siren, or like light control switches, which I know are optional, were not mentioned off the bat as a possible option.

The smartphone features, however, are good. Sometimes, they are lagging and it is more of just like the phone line panel failure. As many times as they send a clear message signal to the system, it keeps popping up every time the system has a power spike, and it is just annoying. Nevertheless, the customer service is, by far, the best I’ve ever experienced when it comes to security systems, and I have recommended the service. I wish there were more ZWave products compatible with the system, though.

Frontpoint's customer service representatives were very good, informative, and knowledgeable. We moved to a new house and we purchased a home security system from Frontpoint. The packaging was very professional, nice and intuitive. I wanted the online app and the ability to turn it on and off with my phone and to have communication with it. The app is really good, but it's based off of Alarm.com's power which is kind of standard. The system was self-installed and for a person of my abilities, the process was easy.

The only thing was Frontpoint was very hesitant to give up the installer code to add more sensors. And it was almost a battle and I almost canceled the service but luckily, the information was on the internet. I had to find it out myself, which was not really acceptable. I was extremely dissatisfied with that individual interaction but I'm very satisfied with my overall experience.

My father was the one who installed it and he had a difficult time but we were able to get it adjusted afterwards. I like Frontpoint more than I like ADT. Their customer service is better.

The quality of the equipment also seems fine to me and the smartphone features are great. I love that I can check it from anywhere. We were out of town over the holidays, and I was able to check my security system in it. So, it's really nice. Frontpoint is my security system. I recently purchased my first home, and I thought that a security system would be good. My parents were the ones who purchased it for me. My mom spoke with a customer service rep who did a great job and she was very satisfied with that. So, she felt comfortable purchasing Frontpoint. We also had another rep that we spoke to for several hours when we were installing the system because the instructions were not very clear, and those guys were very helpful and they walked us through it. Installation was easy once we figured out how close the two bracelets. It was time-consuming, so it took a while, but it was fine.

I like that there is an app that you can turn on and off as that is extremely helpful. However, I’ve been on phone calls before and I’ve pulled up to my house, and I can’t disarm my system from my phone until I end that phone call. The other thing that is a little different, too, is I haven’t received any phone calls when we do trip up the system, which has happened a couple of times already. I’m not sure if it’s like a certain delay that you have to trip it up for maybe more than 20 seconds or something like that before someone calls you. But that’s a little concerning, just because I do know what we’ve set it off a couple of times, just us coming through. It would be nice to know how long that delay is before it does call someone, just to know that there is monitoring that is happening.

Nevertheless, the quality of the equipment is good. I do notice that unless you are located very, very close to the home system, that the alarm isn’t quite as loud as I imagined it would be. It’s very, very loud coming from the speakers, and it kind of makes your ears ring when you get close to it. But if you’re located on the other end of the house, it’s not like you hear it beyond that certain area, which is a little different. I would imagine that if each sensor had a volume, that would be nice, and that would let you know too which sensor it’s coming from or anything like that. Also, it is a bit pricey for the way the system is currently designed. Still, I feel safe knowing that I have it and it makes me sleep easier. For the most part, it’s pretty good.

I go out of the country a little bit and there's no one home for a week or so. I need to have my house secure. I looked online and found the best reviews that Frontpoint had and I saw one of my friends was using it, too. And he said the set up was super easy. The customer service I got when I called them was outstanding. The rep got me completely and he made me feel very assured of the product as well. He gave me his phone number and I called him when I had some problems with the setup itself and he helped me solve it instantly.

As for the installation of the system, you just pull it out of the box. There are a few sensors and you put them up in the right places according to the guide and the manual. And that is about it. You plug it into your wall and everything just starts going. Even the webcam, I just had to press a button on it. it synced up to my Wi-Fi and it was good to go.

I was able to customize my package completely. Whatever I wanted. I had already figured out where all the sections of my place that could possibly be intruded on. I decided exactly what I wanted there, so I got the motion sensor, I got a few at the windows, I got some at the door. Whatever entry point that I wanted to cover was exactly what the rep gave me, nothing more and nothing less. The bill showed the exact same thing. The quality of the equipment was absolutely phenomenal. I was in India and I could just log in on my phone and look at my house and make sure everything was fine on my cameras.

The smartphone features are great. I would like to see a more detailed log inside the actual app itself because I just love data, and for someone like me, I want to know every time any sensor goes off in the house or whatnot. Having the information, it's nice not to log in to a computer to do it. But other than that, the arming, disarming, all that great remote features, I love it. I do not ever have to worry now. I can be outside. If I forget to arm it, it's just a button-click away. And it's super secure. If somebody has to run inside, I can just disarm it real quick and then arm it again while sitting in the car. The quality of the service is so good, I wouldn't mind paying $5 more per month if that meant it was comparable rates. With Frontpoint, I feel safer. I sleep better now. The fact that even just having a little sign outside that says, "Hey, it has been protected," it reduces the burglary rate massively, which is nice.

In the initial consultation that I had with them, the rep was extremely nice and very thorough, and it was a perfectly good experience. But the equipment isn't completely installed yet. I've put up all the components that I could, but I still have a few components that haven't been installed and I'm waiting until such time that I have someone that can help me put them up. I thought the outdoor cameras were wireless, but they were not, so those are not hooked up yet and I have to have wiring done in order to facilitate their installation. Also, I'd like to see some features like wireless cameras added to the service package that we got from Frontpoint.

We've had the alarm go off a few times before my husband could get to the place to put in a code to turn the alarm off and my concern has been if the system was being monitored since we've never gotten a call from the team at Frontpoint. Without testing the system, we don't have any way of knowing that it's always being monitored and we have to just trust that it is. Nonetheless, every interaction that we've had with Frontpoint has been good and the cost of the service is fair. I don't have any reason to complain, except for the outdoor cameras that I bought, but that was apparently my fault. Other than that, Frontpoint's system seems to be perfect.

My other home had Frontpoint and I liked how they operate, so I got it again for my new home. I also Googled the heck out of it for days to see who the best was, and they kept coming with reviews that didn't seem paid for. The sales guy said to give him a call or email and he'd respond immediately. I never ever heard back from him after he made a sale and got his commission, so he sucked. But after that, working with the technical folks, I've had a lot of problems with sensors that were resolved on the phone so those guys were awesome. Also, customer service is very responsive. I spend less than 45 seconds to wait for someone, and then they get right down to business and get the issue resolved.

During installation, Frontpoint was supposed to send a card with a code on it to activate according to the instructions, and there wasn't one. So, I looked everywhere and had to call, and then they gave me the code over the phone. Other than that, the instructions were pretty slick. We used the iPhone app which got me through step-by-step on how I needed to install the device, how far I needed to put it apart from the sensors and how to test it. I also like how I can use my iPhone or Android phone and access my alarm anywhere, anytime. Plus the new security panel is really good and a huge improvement. I used to have the old panel, and it wasn't as intuitive I couldn't put cool pictures and things on it. The system is very fair priced, but if there wouldn't be some ugly wires or some holes, I'd like to get cameras.

Overall I'm very happy that Frontpoint is available. I went almost six months without a security system and it worried me every day that somebody would come and steal all my goodies. I've been telling everybody about them 'cause here, they use Vivint Security and ADT and they're getting ripped off. I tell people all over that they can't go wrong with Frontpoint. It's been an awesome experience.

It was fairly easy but we had to go through a couple iterations to get my door lock to connect. Some of the home automation stuff is not a great integration so the process was not as clean as I guessed it could be.

The smart features could also be a lot better. The communication between the website and the console itself doesn't seem exactly right. Example, if I want to set up a new user and give them console access, I can set them up on the internet, on the website, but then I have to go to the console itself to give them access to the console. We didn't figure that out for quite a while like my kids could set the alarm off. So that was a bit of a clunky thing. But it works okay with my door lock. I also didn't realize that the camera had no sound. At the cost of that camera it should have two-way communication. It was overpriced for video only. But I like having Frontpoint. And then during the setup, because it was a brand new house, our internet was a little sketchy so they walked us through the installation and also the phone, which was nice because I couldn’t get on to the app to actually activate everything.

They spent a good amount of time on the phone with us to make sure that's okay. And then every time I've called with questions they've answered them quickly. They're very nice folks. I'm still using the minimum but I like that I can do it from my phone. I like the remote control. The security equipment looks good to me. I dropped it a few times and it didn’t break so I know it's a good sign and everything's been working as it's supposed to.

The price is much better than a lot of places you'll find. I talked to a lot of different companies before and had no idea that security systems could either have the installation fee be sky high or the monthly fee. This was kind of a nice balance in between. This is my first house that I bought. I live alone and I bought it myself so it's a little different than being in a small apartment on the second floor where someone had to work really hard to get you as opposed to being in a ranch by yourself where you just have to walk to the front door. So it's nice and if I feel that I forgot to set the security system I can just check it from my phone. I don't have to go out into the house if I'm already in bed or wherever I am. The home security that we had gone out of business. So, we decided that we would go with a do-it-yourself system. The person whom we worked with spoke from experience and had a lot of good tips. She gave me great information it was like talking to a friend. She knew her business and she was wonderful. While, the installation of my Frontpoint system took a bit more than I thought it would, mostly that was just me trying to learn how to do it right and where to put the sensors. It was a piece of cake and it all works. Our customized package included cameras, glass break, and a camera doorbell. We also added a couple more sensors for the windows. It was all fairly priced.

My biggest concern before was waking up in the middle of the night and having somebody standing over me or walking out to pour the coffee and I would have somebody standing in my front room with a gun pointed at me. We have a downstairs walkout basement and someone could break the glass down there and I wouldn't hear it from the master bedroom. So, I got cameras down there and now, when I hear something, I take a look at the camera. I also have glass break sensors and sensors on all the doors and windows. Now I don't have to worry about that. Another thing that we bought is a garage door sensor. It tells me when that door is going up and down.

The main thing that Frontpoint has over Simplisafe that they can get out and they are checking my system constantly. They are also upgrading the security of the cyber system. On the other hand, Simplisafe uses a chip in the main panel and the only way you can upgrade the security of the system is if you replace all components. Furthermore, Frontpoint did a great job monitoring when we forget to turn on a few alarms. We didn't have break-ins except for ourselves. Also, customer service was great. I told them that I couldn't get the cameras to work and they worked with me on that. They spent about two to three hours with me on the glass break. Now, I know I picked the right group and I've been very pleased. They have met my expectations thus far.

If I open the door and I don't disarm the alarm, it goes off. So, the system works that way. But no one has actually tried yet to break in through a window and get in, which would test the motion detectors.

So far, the features offered in the system have been good. I customized my package a little bit as I couldn't decide where to put the motion detectors. Also, I'd like to include a few more motion detectors in the future. But right now, everything's fine with my package. But there has been an issue with Frontpoint's smartphone features. I periodically get email notifications that I'm disconnected from the network and I don't know why that happens. It could be due to something with their cellular towers. There has been a bit of a communication break between the alarm panel and their cell tower. But other than that, everything's perfect and the cost of the service is fair. Since having my Frontpoint system, I feel more secure that if someone was in my house, I would know it right away. But I need to have an alarm certificate emailed to me by Frontpoint so I can send it to my insurance company.

I was in a hurry to get a system installed and I like the reviews that I saw for Frontpoint. It was pretty far out there compared to the other ones as far as in the lead of consumers liking Frontpoint best so I went with it. The sales representative from Frontpoint were fantastic. They were very professional, understood the urgency of how fast I needed it and even threw in overnight shipping for me. They went above and beyond.

My son is 14 and I'm in my 50's and we installed it ourselves. It was very easy and very quick. Anybody can do it if we can do it. I like the features. We like that it's very interactive with our phones and how we can see what's happening. But when somebody rings the doorbell it takes forever for the picture to come up of who's at the door so I don't like that too much but maybe it's just the speed of my internet. I'm certain that probably is the case. Everything else is great.

And I don't like that the cameras only have visual. They do not have any audio to them. So if somebody was in the house, you couldn't hear what they were saying. But the quality is great. I felt a whole lot more secure. I was in an abusive relationship with my husband. I had to put a restraining order on him so I felt comfortable now that I have this system in place. It helps me have peace of mind.

I would recommend it to a friend. I don't like about this system is that the monthly fee is expensive. But I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. But on the other hand, we still have not been able to figure out how to set up the cameras to record if they see something. But that's certainly my fault because customer service with this company is A1. They are fantastic. Everybody's taking care of us.

After a few months I learned that while they have cameras & live feed. You have no live recordings or options of saving.. say a crime in progress. When calling in to reduce $50 service fee for basically providing door chimes, the representative stated that I signed a 3 year agreement on the equipment and I could cancel but would be responsible for the full 3 years in advanced.. No concern or effort made to resolve issue & would never recommend this product to anyone. Will go back to my Costco system with free service, tech support & recording abilities for up to 12 months 24/7.

I was away from home quite a bit and I wanted to make sure that my home and stuff was safe. The rep of Frontpoint answered all my questions really well and helped me figure out how much I would want the motion detectors and all that good stuff. I was very pleased. I then got three entries and one motion detector. The installation went easily and was satisfactory overall. Everything was really well laid out. I've been very happy with the quality of their equipment. I also like the app and the way you can enable and disable your system when you're not home. When I forget that it has that feature, it'll prompt me to turn it back on.

Now, I'm less worried if somebody's at my house because I know if something happens, I will get an alert on my phone. The only thing I had an issue with was during the process of getting everything, Frontpoint got a hard credit pull on my credit score and it made my score go down 30 points. But other than that, overall, I was satisfied.

We travel a lot, and sometimes there isn't anybody home. And I want to be out there and feel like everything is okay. My daughter looked Frontpoint up and she looked at the review. And she matched most of the review that she got and she said this was a very good one. When we first got the system, we didn't know how to set it up. It was confusing to me because I've never done it before. And I called and the gentleman on the phone, he talked me through it. I didn't know how to put the monitor up and I called, and he taught me through it. And everything worked out.

I feel good about the quality of the system. I've never had any issue with it ever since I got it. Plus, they have very good customer service as well. So if you have any problem or question, you call them and they answer your question. They don't rush you off the phone. I'm very satisfied with Frontpoint. I just wish this was a system that they could have come and set up, that I didn't have to do it. But it wasn't very hard and if I have to do it, I would do it again. I would recommend it to anybody,

I always had security systems in the last two years and moving from the rural area to more urban, I felt that I needed extra set of eyes and ears as well. I just decided to do away with my old system and wanted something more modern. I based a lot of my consumer shopping decisions on reviews. The reviews for Frontpoint were good and it was in my price range. I initially told the rep what I was looking for and had this sales pitch, but I pretty much knew the ones I needed. It was pretty straightforward. He was very thorough with me, and he gave me full disclosure. I didn’t feel like there were any games or any potential scams. So, that left me with their great deal of confidence. But I like to sleep on my decisions, so I called them back the next day and then they executed the deal.

When we called to get a system, I didn't feel that the customer service team was annoyed, but they were always willing to help. The person that helped me during the installation wasn't really an expert, but I was able to work around it. So overall, my experience has been good. The features are good but some of them like the cameras are expensive and a little antiquated. I want more up to date material and higher resolution cameras. And if I have a little more integration with some other equipment out there, I will do a lot more with it, but it can get expensive. For example, if I wanted to add another camera to my system, they also need to upgrade my monitor.

The smartphone app is a little laggy. For example, I have a doorbell camera and when a person rings the bell, there’s a delay for me to get that notification that I have to unlock my phone and unlock the Frontpoint. By the time I'm able to do that, the person is usually gone or somebody’s gotten the door. So it could be a little faster.

Frontpoint could go down a little bit on their cost. There's competition out there and Frontpoint wins in customer service so people are willing to overlook a few things, but if we compare apples with apples, there are some better stuff out there. But my family and friends like what I have with Frontpoint and they asked me to install it, and I said I'd do it. So overall, I'll recommend it.

I already had a Vivint system in my other house and I Googled for a more cost-effective option and Frontpoint came up with great reviews. The salesperson was great. He gave me a personal cell phone number and was very helpful. The only challenge I had was I stressed that I live at the top of the mountain where cell service is not very good and they had to come in with Vivint and put in a booster and changed to Verizon to get it to work. And he told me that the system was automatic, that it came with both Verizon and it would automatically adjust and find the proper cell signal.

I have only been able to get it to connect at one time. It's in my garage in a box because it beeps and it can't talk to the base station. It doesn’t work. I travel and this is something that I haven't had time to call them about. I was in Europe for six weeks and I just got back. And it happened while I was gone. The person watching my house was not technical and did not want to deal with it.

I don’t know if the salesperson just wanted to sell it and didn’t listen to the fact that I told him that I had trouble with Vivint in regards to I live on a mountain where Verizon is the only one that works. I was very clear with the salesperson about that. They assured me that they had a very updated system and that they would ensure that the right thing was installed. I think that you're using T-Mobile which is never going to get signal up here. And I stressed that the same as all that it always uses one of them as well, but they had to switch mine to Verizon just because of where I live. I was out of the country during the trial period so I don't have the opportunity to return it. I would discuss with them how I can get out of this contract because I'm not going to use the service.

I use Frontpoint for business, and I have two of them -- I went back to buy another one. I got it because it is wireless and it’s easy to use. And I won’t say it was the most economical, but it was certainly affordable. Their sales and customer service people were very good, and the installation was pretty easy. It was more of a, “Read from the instructions and call if have questions”, but it was all very good. I had some questions, but they helped me set up to make sure that it was working right.

I have a pretty basic system and it works well. If you spend more, you'd get about basically the same equipment. We have had to replace batteries in the one at one of our stores for three years, and the other one has been for about two months. We also have the smartphone feature on one of the stores, and I have to get it set up, too, with the other one. With the equipment, I can see when somebody’s coming in and out the store, and I can set the alarm and turn it off on the phone. It’s pretty cool. It is doing its job in making me feel good, and this one is working. It is a good system and I would recommend it if somebody wants something that is pretty simple and easy to use, but works well. I've got some ding-dong employees and they know how to use it too, so that's also a good thing.

I've had Frontpoint for years and I switched recently one of the systems from ADT because I hated them. The service and the price was bad. Pretty much everything was bad. The package I got from Frontpoint was a configured setup that fit my needs really well and the features are excellent. The installation was quick too. Everything was up and running the same day, in the afternoon.

With Frontpoint, I get good service and I can get support whenever I need it. The representatives have been excellent and I love having access seven days a week. They've helped me out on countless times with an installation or a problem on a Sunday afternoon, which is invaluable to me. Price is not their best feature. There are some cheaper monitoring available out there, but not a lot. Still, the price is great for the features. I like being able to monitor the system remotely so easily with a computer or on my phone. The Alarm.com stuff is great and I use the smartphone features all the time.

We switched because they switched companies on us and then the product that I had was three years old and they wanted to get me to purchase something more expensive that I wasn’t interested in. However, Frontpoint is higher in cost. Frontpoint is higher by at least $15 a month, which bothers me a little, but it’s the price I have to pay. Also, the initial set-up was difficult and the products sent didn’t fit my doors appropriately, so I had to take the magnets out of the casing and tape them to the frames and it just didn't look as professional in that sense. But that went well and we solved the issues already. However, one of the doors that I have comes up listed as a window on the little box and I don’t know how to change that. But I always feel better having the security with nobody being home and working all day and Frontpoint is worth looking into and giving it a try.

Don't let the ratings fool you. Most of the ratings you see are for customers still within the trial period or have recently signed up. In the first few months, you'll be happy with their customer service and equipment. Some of the automation components are extremely nice to have. It's after you're no longer in the trial period and are completely locked into their ridiculous 3 year/80% term contract that the customer service starts to turn south. It is excellent up until that point, but after nearly three years of having this product there are a few things that people need to keep in mind:

    1. The Qolsys equipment that they offer is absolute junk. It works for awhile but will start to fail after 6+ months. Almost every sensor in my home is failed at least once. The panel has failed several times and the best Frontpoint can offer is a replacement for the panel (which will fail again). The panel freezes, will not let you disarm at times as a result, and is subpar in terms of Z-wave performance (in comparison to competitor products).

    2. Customer service will tell you that they will do everything they can to make the system work for you in your home and if they can't, "because of the company they are" they will not hold you to the termination terms in their agreement. This is woefully untrue...do not like their kind demeanor fool you...they will definitely hold your feet to the fire even if your equipment has failed time and time again. They completely ignore that their service is supposed to offer peace of mind and if you can't trust that your system is going to work, it somewhat defeats the purpose of having it...and paying their monthly fee. They will tell you what you want to hear until you've had enough and then they will stick it to you with their contract terms.

    3. In terms of false alarms, due to the faulty nature of their equipment...you will have several. Also due to the faulty nature of the equipment, it's not guaranteed that when there's a false alarm, you'll be able to disarm the system. Please look at your contract, you will be held liable for any charges incurred as a result. They tell you that you are responsible for false alarms despite the fact that their equipment is extremely prone to going offline, false tampers, and unresponsiveness (so when you enter your home and need to disarm, good luck...it may not let you).

    4. They sell their system as being able to meet the expectations of almost all homeowners. If you have a home of considerable size and enter at multiple points, requiring an additional panel, too bad, they don't have a solution for you. They have the Interlogix XT panel which is watered down and does not provide the same features as the Qolsys panel (can't do the home automation stuff from the screen). That's their solution, but the charge is still the same despite the reduced functionality and other drawbacks of that panel.

    5. If you like home automation, look elsewhere. Alarm.com offers many integrations that Frontpoint refuses to support. After several attempts, I was able to get them to support my Nest thermostat, Schlage locks, and MyQ garage openers. All are supported by default by Alarm.com, but Frontpoint will not support them because they don't pass their "standards." I'll be honest, the only things that have worked consistently are the third-party integrations. The items Frontpoint supports are beyond inferior in comparison to the products they don't support.

    6. They will do everything they can to get you to stay with them as long as there's no skin off their back. They like to use their warranty as a selling point...but they don't tell you that you're up a creek once your 3 year term is over. Then you're left with their faulty equipment and no recourse but to purchase new stuff, despite paying their monthly fee.

    7. Frontpoint does not stay up to date with their equipment either. I've talked poorly about the Qolsys equipment because it is absolutely terrible to work with, but Qolsys has offered an improved/upgraded platform to use with Alarm.com and Frontpoint (according to their reps) has chosen not to use that equipment despite the increased functionality and stability (not to mention the ability to use remote panels that are actually supported by the vendor). They refuse to admit the flaws within the equipment that's being used to secure our families, our homes, and possessions...and refuse to look at alternatives and updated equipment to address those flaws.

    8. The key takeaway is that if you're looking for peace of mind with a security system, you will absolutely not get it with Frontpoint. Our equipment was failing so often that we just quit arming the system altogether due to false alarms or failed sensors that prevented us from arming the equipment. For example, we had a door sensor that was of trivial distance from the panel. Once a week, the sensor would go offline. We would use the key fobs to arm/disarm the system and would find that the system never actually armed because one of the sensors not responding. There was no notification, of course. We didn't know it until we would come home and weren't greeted with the countdown chime. So my main question for all of you considering Frontpoint...**If you cannot count on your security system to protect your home and be credible...why would you pay for it to begin with? Why pay for it for three years?**

Bottom Line: If you care about having a credible security system, go with a different provider. Find one without a lengthy contract. Find one that doesn't use Qolsys equipment...or one that allows you to use the upgraded/updated equipment (i.e. Qolsys IQ Panel 2 and IQRemote). Frontpoint seems excellent to begin with, but you'll find yourself seriously disappointed and locked into an onerous contract with subpar support after three to six months (out of 36) of using their service.

Frontpoint is better than the previous system that I used. The app in my previous system was very inconsistent and didn’t work the way it was supposed to work. But thus far, I have not had any issues with Frontpoint not working exactly the way they said it would work. I like the features and I'm confident with them. My family has gotten used to using their app on their phone because we don't have a keypad by the door. Also, I have five cameras already in my house but I cannot sync them with the system. I wish there were more cameras for the basic package plan. But the equipment was good quality.

Also, if I need assistance, it's very easy to get contact with people and all of the reps that I have spoken with have been very helpful. They’ve been very consistent across the company. The sales rep made the interaction personable and I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me something. He listened to what my needs were and told me about the product that he thought would be best for the things that I wanted. We had to do the installation ourselves but once I and my husband settled down and focused on it, we were able to get everything installed smoothly. The installation instructions were easy to follow. When something didn't go as expected, we were able to call and get the support that we needed. But I wish the sensors for the inside would have the screw-in. Overall, Frontpoint is providing good service and I strongly recommend it.

But it hasn’t been to any advantage really. I'm having all kinds of issues with them. I haven't been able to activate it since I got it. It's constantly saying that this door is damaged, the deadbolt lock is damaged. Every time we go down we have to try to get support on because something's not working right. It’s our rental so if somebody is not there with me that has a phone, we can't troubleshoot it through the app.

What I have is that I had to have somebody put it in that is not part of the security system's people. Frontpoint made it sound so easy but it's not. It's a lot more technical than that and they should have come in, hooked it up to secure it to know that it is 100% secure. I was down there this past weekend and I had it. They told me what I needed to do. I have the basic feature, which gives them a call or they call me when something happens. The device was easy to install. I just glue it on and they provide a double-sided tape to tape onto the wall. I haven't tried purposely walking in my house without disarming to find out if it actually works or not, but based on what the technician told me, it's working.

Being able to turn it on from my cellphone was nice, but that would cost more so I just stuck with the basic. I was able to try it for a couple of weeks and it was good. It was also easy to use. From the Frontpoint app, I was able to tell when the system was armed and when it was not armed. And I could remotely arm it, which is a good feature in case. It's like you drove out of the house and no one's home, but you forgot to arm. So, you just find time from the cellphone to arm it, which is quite convenient.

I recently moved into my home now. It didn't have a security system and it was broken into. I called at least three other companies before I decided to go with Frontpoint. Their rep, Mike, explained what they offered and went over the different ideas that he had for what I was trying to cover without being too expensive for me, which helped out. They ended up setting me up with what I needed to have for my house and got me everything ordered online. Shortly after I got everything, he called me to make sure that everything arrived good. He seemed very knowledgeable and pleasant that’s why I kept his name in my book. He even mentioned to give him a call if I needed anything else.

Years ago, I had an alarm system and it would go off every now and then once I walked around into a certain room that had the motion detectors. So I wanted to make sure that that wouldn't be a problem. So, instead of going with the motion detectors, we went with more glass breakage because to get in, they’d either come through one of the doors that have the regular alarms or open up one of the windows. I’ve got six entry alarms which were on four windows and two doors, and that left a couple other windows that I could use the sensors on.

Installation went pretty easy too. But when I was trying to pull the alarm that goes off if the glass is broken off of the wall, I knocked the top cover off a little bit. I didn’t realize it was supposed to be a certain distance away from my window if I had it next to one window. I went to cut through the double-back tape behind it and I dislodged the cover on it. When I replaced the cover back on it, it still didn’t want to work properly. So, I ended up having to call somebody and they set me through how to make sure that the cover was back on right. I had to readjust something on the inside which was really easy to do. And then once I got everything back on, it came on to where the system could verify it was back and it worked in order.

So far, it seems like it’s a pretty good system and I’m happy with it. I like being able to set and disarm it from my telephone, which makes it nice. And being able to disarm it before I get in the house makes it a very good convenience. So, if I’m carrying groceries in, I don’t have to try to rush in and set everything down, and get over to it before it goes off.

It does what I was expecting it to do. One of the alarms goes off when I don’t have the door completely locked. But I’ve got a little hook on it. Since it was broken before, I put a little heavy-duty hook on the inside on it just to make sure, if somebody was to try to pry it open again, it would catch. When I had it to where it was unlocked, one of the dogs had bumped it open but it didn’t open all the way because of the catch. I knew the alarm went off and Frontpoint called quickly to let me know that there was an alarm. I was only two minutes away from the house when it happened and luckily enough, it wasn’t anybody breaking in. It was just me not making sure the door was closed the whole way, so I didn’t have to send the police out. But it definitely worked well and I was happy with the response.

However, I have a different alarm code for my daughter. I thought that when she goes in and out of the house, it would give me a notice but it doesn’t do that. But it doesn't matter because she doesn't live with me. She just occasionally comes over and I always know when she's coming. I like Frontpoint's service but I’m on a limited budget so it would be nice if it was a little bit less expensive every month. But I know it costs them a certain amount of money to get everything going and it’s about the normal price for what all the different people charge for it. So, I’m happy with it.

I used to have ADT but they kept raising my prices every year and it got to a point where it was ridiculous. After researching for a good company, I went with Frontpoint. Their people are really knowledgeable and helpful. The installation wasn't really that complicated but I had some issues and their tech guy walked me step-by-step as to how he fixed the issue. In the initial installation, I received all the packages and packets. I took everything out and placed everything in the places where the old system was. My motion detector was about eight feet high, and everything else had door sensors and window sensors. According to the technician, my motion detectors were too high so I ended up lowering them down. And my doors were not totally lining up with the magnet. They helped me by sending the extra thick tapes to push out the magnet.

I like the features in my system and I’m thinking about ordering a video cam. Moreover, I want to install those remote control locks when I replace the front door and the back door. I've used the smartphone features and it's similar to the old system so it didn’t take long to get used to it. The system is easy and very simple to use. It's also very convenient. In fact, the phone part of it is better. The other one will take a couple of tries to go to the computer. The phone is fast and as soon as I hit "Arm", it arms it right away. We noticed that one of the projects next to another one of our construction site projects was using Frontpoint. We called and it seemed relatively easy. They advertised simplicity, and it was easy to set up which was the main thing that I was looking for when we signed up for it. Everything was Wi-Fi-enabled and it literally summed down to a science from opening the box. I followed the instructions and we did pretty well. It’s been great so far and it all met our expectations. They were very responsive. We had a false alarm trip a couple of days ago, and we got a call immediately so that was very nice. And anytime I felt like I needed to call Frontpoint for something, everybody helped me out.

We have entry sensors and a couple cameras. The sensors are relatively small and look nice, which is one thing that’s not exactly commonplace in security systems. We work with architects, and the one thing that they always wanted is minimal reveal of stuff, so they were happy when they saw the site set up with the barely visible sensors. We also purchased a garage door sensor, but we haven't used that yet 'cause there's no garage door yet. The sensors are great but the cameras are a little bit buggy. But given the price point that they are, we expected it. The buffer time takes a little bit longer than one would like, but again, they were relatively cheap cameras. Otherwise, everything looks relatively fine. It was priced a little over $1,000 for a year and it seems fair. Overall, the system works and we got what we paid for.

Frontpoint seemed to be the best in home security system for a budget. I signed up with them and when I installed the equipment, it wasn't difficult. But the initial instructions weren't clear so I made a mistake. I called customer service and they were informative and professional. It made sense to me when they explained it, but I would suggest for them to note the common pitfalls that customers have had in the past and make sure to include how to address them in the instructions so the installation would go properly.

The smartphone feature was a good option and I used it to arm and disarm the system. But it was only a free trial and to get that, there would be a 10-dollar per month charge. It should be included in this day and age where everything is going through the mobile app. Other than that, the quality of the equipment is pretty good and having the security system gave me a reassurance that I'm not going to get robbed or have anyone breaking into my house.

I used to install for another company but after researching, I wanted to go with Frontpoint. Having worked in the service before, I knew how frequently reschedules or second installations could happen with the job not being done properly the first time. So the key thing was self-installation, being able to get my hands on the equipment, and learning how to use it and do it from the getgo. Plus, the setup was really easy and the boxes with the instructions were awesome.

Their sales reps were great. They made me aware of different tiers of sales promotions that were occurring which allowed me to upgrade my equipment at the time. I wasn't originally considering cameras, just the basic security system, but they let me know the difference in pay as far as the monthly rate, which wasn't significant, and how their promotions for the cameras at the time would help me save in the end, depending on the amount that I spend. Those were very helpful and inciteful. Also, everybody's got the different specials and features going on, but all across the board, Frontpoint's price is fair for what we're getting. And I like that I was able to purchase the equipment outright from the beginning so that if I decide to discontinue monitoring in the future, I still own the equipment.

We have two young ones and even though we have family sitting, if my wife wanted to see how the kids were doing, we use the system's smartphone features so she could watch them. Being able to talk to the children through the microphone function is also great. And one time, when I was downstairs in the playroom with my child and my wife got a phone call from someone delivering a package, I didn't hear the doorbell. So, she contacted me through the camera to let me know to go upstairs. That was cool.

We closed in this home this past Fall and getting into a new house meant hearing all its new creeks and the whistles. Then we have a dog who may be barking for a purpose or for no reason whatsoever. So, my wife was really concerned every night about our security. Getting the Frontpoint system really helped. It brought her a peace of mind that she could walk away from the house and not have to look back over her shoulder.

I used some other provider previously and after I checked its expiry, I started googling trying to find out a different kind. I wanted to try someone different, and Frontpoint is better than the previous one I had. It was easy to install and I never paid any money for the installation. The instructions were clear and I did it myself. After installing the sensor, I didn’t notice that there was no light and I thought it was not working. I removed it and installed it again and checked the battery. And when I installed it, I realized that the light was working. I was confused.

I had to call customer service to check with them why that happened because I'm still using the wired sensors, and I got a good support from them. The features in the system are very good. Most of the time somebody’s at home so I didn’t want to go for the more expensive system and I selected the basic one. I used the app for 30 days and it was very nice. I’m comfortable since having Frontpoint installed and I would recommend them. Frontpoint is very good. It’s available in the market but it’s a little expensive.

Frontpoint seemed to be well-reviewed online and for the most part, I chose to buy a home security system to monitor my home when I'm not there. I also liked the ease in which I am able to set up, monitor and maintain the system. I can set up the apparatus myself and I don’t have to rely on a serviceman to come out. Frontpoint’s system is good and the app that comes with it makes it easy as I can manage everything through my phone and also pull up a live video on the phone. The way it's structured is if you use any of the cameras and they're triggered, it'll automatically capture and predetermine the time following the event and store it up in the cloud. It's all remote and there’s no closed circuit.

The representatives of Frontpoint were straightforward. I’ve only had three interactions and they were helpful and knowledgeable from my experience. They handled my situations well. The installation was easy and straightforward. They sent the package I purchased in a big box and it had all the sensors, cameras, the main panel, key fob or whatever equipment is chosen. The installation steps were all clearly detailed in an understandable way. I logged in and it gave a step by step instructions for a given piece of equipment that I was setting up. Although the only caveat for older adults who aren’t as technologically-raised that it may be more difficult and confusing for them to set up some of the stuff.

My package was customized in the sense that I just ordered however many sensors that I needed depends on the floor plan. I got sensors on the front and back door and I can customize it however I want. My home security is pretty complete. Everything has worked as advertised. In addition, the cost of the system commensurates its cost. It could be perceived as a little steep in the frontend but that is to acquire the equipment. But the month-to-month seems competitive with some of the alternative options. The top tier brands have all the interactive accessibilities and like their app may be under some of the other plans.

Since having Frontpoint, no one broke in before and no one is breaking in now. If I never end up using it, then that’s not a bad thing. I'm happy with the system’s features and it’s all great and pretty intuitive. They're good and the cameras are good quality. The system picks up audio and got night vision. I also discovered I can speak through the cameras. It's a two-way and there's a speaker underneath it if I need to be speaking to anyone. All the equipment is good. I can use one button to disarm or arm the system. I can also do the same thing with my phone. If a friend is in the market, they should take a look and consider Frontpoint.

It's functional. It's not very techie though. It’d be nice to have audio too. I also keep getting this panel phone line failure, which is annoying, and Frontpoint was not able to fix it. Every time they take it off, it keeps showing back up. They said it had to do with the phone line, but the phone line is not applicable anymore. So it's some defect on their design.

In the past I was using ADT but I had a bad customer service experience with them. They told me one price and then the technician came out and it was something completely different and then they were a big mess. I didn’t even get their service installed. Then I went online and started Googling and rating the different security systems that were out there. Frontpoint was highly rated so my husband and I decided to give them a try and see what happened. Also it seemed I had more flexibility with them. You don’t have to wait for somebody to come and install anything. You can install the system yourself and if you are to move, you take it right with you. When we first got the product we had the little stickers for the window, the sign for the yard, and everything was just there. We didn’t have to call and ask about anything.

If you need help it's online or you can call the number for assistance. When we got the system my husband and I took everything out the box. We read the instructions and we downloaded the apps on our phone. The keypad was already programmed when they sent it out so that was really convenient. It was really quick and simple. When I call their number they're really helpful. They ask about the windows, the doors and all that stuff so they can give me an estimate of how many sensors I needed if there were kids, what exactly I was trying to do, and they explained some of the other products they had. Recently the keypad stopped working so I called them. I tried to plug it up in a different plug and it still didn’t work, just to make sure it wasn’t the socket itself. They're really friendly and they processed the replacement order.

They came the next day and I sent the other keypad back. When I got the replacement I called them and gave them the serial number so they could transfer the information from the old keypad and set it up. It was really straightforward. They were nice, polite and didn’t waste our time. They answered our questions and they didn’t try to sell you anything you didn’t want. I love the features of the system. When the door is opened or hasn’t been closed and is left opened or anything like that, the alarm goes off. We get text messages and emails. If the alarm goes off or if I turn it off before I come in or go out it's instant.

Right now, everybody is using the same number to enter and disable the alarm system. But I was talking to a representative when we were talking about the replacement keypad and they explained to me how everything can have their own custom number so then you'll know who exactly is coming in and out and that was really cool. Within the next year when we purchase a home I'll probably look into the other features they have. For now the basic package fits my needs. The system's cost is really reasonable for what we're getting and I'm really impressed. Frontpoint has a very awesome customer service and great product. I would tell friends to get it. They'll be impressed, safe, and secure. It's well worth it.

We had ADT in our other house and then we moved to another house and it didn’t have an alarm system. I looked for a home security that has remote access with the cell phone as well as considered the price. So, I've been with Frontpoint since October. All my interactions with their salespeople and technical people have been excellent. Everything went really smoothly, like getting the system set up. It was just all peel and stick things. It was a little tricky to get mounted on the doors because we have the molding and stuff to get the two things to work but it was good. It took no more than two hours to do everything.

Also, I have a special situation where I have a remote garage that I needed a motion detector in. They were able to set up the control so that, in the stay mode, the garage is activated. So not only is it covered in the away mode, it's also covered in the stay mode, which was nice. I had a few little technical questions I called about and it worked really easy.

My security system has basic features, which are fine. Until now, everything’s still stuck up on the wall and I'm glad for that. The smartphone features will be handy but I wish there was a panic feature on it. Also, I didn't pay attention to the fine print and the plan started out as $35, which included remote access. Then the remote access went away after 30 days and it's $10 more when I had to sign back up. Now I'm paying this as much as I would have with an ADT system. I don’t feel it's any better, but it's nice that it's a wireless system. But ADT would have a wireless system too.

I live in a remote area and there’s not a lot of people on my street so I wanted to have a home security system. My daughter also has Frontpoint and I’ve been using it. When I go to her house I have it on my phone. I actually ordered a system from Simplisafe before going to Frontpoint because someone else recommended it but when I got it, their window monitors didn’t fit on my windows so I returned it and I went with the system I was familiar with. I’ve had lots of interactions with the Frontpoint team. I’ve had to call in to get confirmation on how to operate certain aspects of the system and I ordered extra supplies with some window labels, and I was sent the wrong ones twice. For buying large, all the interactions have been positive and people have been friendly.

Everything was handled well, except when they sent the wrong labels. I bought some of the keychain remotes but I’m not going to use them because I’m not comfortable with them. It would be easier to use that other than my phone but I can’t see if it’s armed or disarmed when I use it, and I don’t like that. I gave one of them to my daughter.

The installation was relatively easy and I had to call up with a couple of questions. The one thing that didn’t go particularly well was, I have some motion sensors in some of the rooms and I stuck them on the wall, then when I called in about something they pointed out that deep inside the website, it says that they should be much lower but I had them relatively high on the wall. But I didn’t move them so they are where they are and I know they work. Frontpoint has a lot of cameras and glass breaking stuff and doorbells and both indoor and outdoor cameras. There are a lot of stuff that I don’t have, but what I have is relatively basic on my sliding glass doors, my other main doors and motion sensors. I first did the general package and then when I got into it, I realized I needed more stuff so I went a la carte with the second order.

The overall quality of the equipment is great. I use it for sure if I am going away for an extended period of time. It’s easy and I really like using it with my phone on the app because it’s clear that it’s armed or disarmed. The smartphone features are simple and it’s simple to switch between my house and my daughter’s house. The cost is fine but I’d prefer if the monthly charges were a little less because they’re more than what the Simplisafe one was going to be. Other than that, my experience has been good and I’ve recommended Frontpoint to a couple of people.

We considered getting a home security system for years because we got some work in our backyard and we have a tendency to go on vacation every now and then. I talked to a couple of friends that already had services and I did a little bit of research. I saw good reviews on Frontpoint, talked to my wife about it, and we decided to go with them. I talked to their rep and informed them that I was not going to put anything on until after the holidays were completely done. They said it was fine and they would give us an extra free month. My wife was expecting it to be an additional on our monthly fee and we appreciated that.

So, we signed up for the service in December but the system was not installed until the second of January. I set up the cameras and the door sensors, and I found it a pretty good deal. The installation was straightforward and easy to do. I was also able to get a hold of somebody through customer service when I had any concerns on how to install the equipment and they walked me through the procedures. My wife and I really like the doorbell camera. It advises us when somebody's approaching the house. Right now, we don't arm the system at all times. We have with us my mother-in-law who's going through Alzheimer's and we have somebody living with us who's at the house all day. But the system is there when we need to arm it and we know it’d work.

I had some intruders break into my house so I decided to get a home security system. I then got motion sensors that go into the doors and break-in windows from Frontpoint. No one came to install our system though and it was very difficult. The instructions were included and there was a telephone number that says to call before installation. We called that and we went over the steps in the phone. That was my main concern. I was about to quit the system because I was like, "I'm not an expert," and it did not work like it was supposed to. I would love to have the cameras but I didn't purchase them yet because I have to install it myself. I don’t feel secure. I might install it the wrong way.

When I got the system by mail it was three days after the burglary I had at home so I was kind of desperate. That's why I didn’t intend to buy because I didn’t want to go through another company, do an estimate, find out more about which one is better so I was like, "You know what, I'm just going to install this." For example, they told me that they don’t have a technician to come and install the light. We have to do it ourselves. I still think I don’t have it installed the right way. Then the last person I talk to about wasn't good. I was calling because one of the motion sensors, you could be in front of it and the light would not go off. I spoke to the person for seven minutes and we went over the reprogramming to reinstallation to make sure that the sensor wasn't having a problem and that it was working fine. However, I didn't feel satisfied because she was kind of in a rush so she had to hang up.

I had a security system before so I wanted to put one again especially since we're leaving the house a bit more often than before. Frontpoint has a system which I can put everything wherever I want to and I can add things later without having someone come in and solve things for me. Also, they have a good option of parts in there. I expected to be a little cheaper but it was fine. Compared to others they are somewhat at the same level. Basically, it's just that it cost me more because I had lots of windows and doors.

The installation mostly went well. The quality of the equipment is very good and the instructions were good and easy. The first set that I got was very easy to install because everything was matching like the specification number and stuff. But when I got the second set the things would not link. Even though when I try to put it in, it's just it tells me that this is not the sensor that I want to install into the drive. Basically I have to call back and then have that readjusted where I can identify each one.

Then whenever I wanted to name the sensors on the phone itself, I was not able to. I had pre-selected names where I want to input something of my own and it just would not let me. I had to go to the website to do that. After that I went to the website and picked things. I had to go back and find out which one was where exactly. I have a fixed window for one room that it basically has to only choose, "Okay, this is dining room, dining room, dining room," or something like that. I could not put 1, 2, 3, 4. It was a problem with pre-selected names without really having that ability to add anything else.

Also at the very beginning, there was a sensor that was bad. We texted them about it and they kept telling me, "No, it's fine." Then I left it again for a week and a half and then again they want to go through the same testing again. Everything is working fine except just one and they keep telling me, "Maybe the location of that machine is wrong, the main module." That's where I had a problem. I was getting ready to return everything until they accepted that and said, "Okay, we'll switch the sensor." After that everything was fine. I like the option to get rid of the chime whenever somebody opens the door or closes. If I'm working early morning that I don’t have to have everybody wake up. I use the phone just to arm and disarm the system. Otherwise, I go through the computer.

One of the things that I liked a lot about Frontpoint was the representative that I dealt with. I want that my home is secure when I'm not there and he saved me money basically when he could have just told me that they will sell me the cameras and everything. Instead, he said that I can go and buy cameras, that I can get the cheap ones at Best Buy, put those up and monitor the exterior and interior, or whatever I'm trying to watch at my home. He added that I can do it myself and it will save me a lot of money. When he told me that, without me asking him about it, I appreciated his honesty. And I like his company because he was being straight with me.

When I installed the Frontpoint system, all of the material was sent to me. I set everything up by the directions that came with all of the equipment so that was a no-brainer. Then I contacted them to activate everything and test each sensor. That went smoothly. The customer service representative was very polite and professional. So far, I have no complaints. The Frontpoint security equipment is simple and I like that. It doesn’t need to be too complicated. Though, I will still see how long the sensors last before I have to get new ones.

Moreover, they have contacted me a couple of times for false alarms, but they were on top of it, and their response time was okay. The most recent one would be about three weeks ago, their department notified me that there was a breach taking place at my house. Then I told them to have the police go out there and they did. They contacted me and said the police got there and they didn't see anybody breaking in. They made the determination that there was nothing going on so the sensors might have malfunctioned. However, it was okay with me.

Overall, I'm not regretting my decision to go with Frontpoint. I'm pleased with them and will recommend them. And if someone would ask me about Frontpoint, I would tell that it's just another form of insurance that can help. If somebody's going to break into their house, they might want them to get caught too. Their system is going to get the police notified so it gives you a little peace of mind. Thus, I'll probably continue after my three-year contract ends unless there's something I discover that I don’t like. In fact, I'm going to build a barn near the house so I'll get some more features. I want to have security on that as well. After all, at a really decent rate of 50 bucks a month, it's a good price. I don’t have a problem with it unless they all start raising the prices on me.

I'm okay with Frontpoint but not extremely happy. My friend told me that Frontpoint is easier to install. I understood the instructions and I was able to take out an essential part but eventually, I had to call them. A feature was not impacting the performance of the system but it's annoying and we contacted the customer service once. They fixed it but now, it's showing up again. Sometimes when I call, I have to wait so I don't like that. Also, it was always part of the conversation debate between me and their customer service about what type of deal I can get. I don’t like their non-transparency and hopefully, they get more transparent.

Last week, I had a magnet that was missing from one of the sensors and I called them. The guy sent me one immediately and helped me with the set-up once I got it down. Everything was perfect and their smartphone feature is very user-friendly. The system is really great and I like the ability to move things around and do things myself. If I had questions, they answered them quickly. Installing the Frontpoint System was simple to set-up and easy to understand. So far, I like the mobile app. You get to track stuff and get a free cellphone. Since having Frontpoint, we feel more secure and also feel better if we have to be at the house alone or even leave it. The cost is fine as well. Overall, we're good with what we got right now.

A month ago, I got Frontpoint to have security in the house. I dealt with their salesperson over the phone and he was pushy. I installed the system myself and it wasn’t difficult to put. When one of their stuff broke, I talked to their customer service and they sent a replacement part. In terms of the cost, it is comparable to other people. As for its features, they were okay including the smartphone feature. But one day, the system crashed so I could not disarm the alarm on my phone. I called the customer service, and they sent someone to go there to unplug and reboot the system. The whole purpose of having a security system is for it to work and I haven't had any kind of issues with previous vendors. Otherwise, it'll put doubt in my mind if this will always going to happen. Unfortunately, there's a one-year contract so even if I have doubt, I can't really back out.

When my neighbor had several break-ins lately, I felt like somebody was going to break in and decided to get a home security system. I saw Frontpoint, read about their stuff and it looked like it was easy to install. When I installed it, the instructions were fairly straightforward. It told me how to do it and how to get my base station to recognize it, and it did. All I did was peel back off the little window sensors and the door sensors then I had to pull the little tab out so the battery will work. I put them in one at a time so I could number them and let the base station recognize them so I need a grasp of which one went where. I customized it and got enough sensors to cover the windows and doors.

I liked its features and everything being wireless because I live in a log house so it's been difficult to run wires. And I like being able to monitor it with my cellphone. I've got one of those key fobs and I can also activate or deactivate it. If any of my sensors go off, some of them flashed in one day because I have it set up to send me notifications, if any of my sensors activate. And even when the system is off, it tells me when I have motion sensors go off, and it goes off and I can tell you where my wife's at in the house. I put in a keyless deadbolt lock on the front door. When that didn't work and didn't match up with the system. I called them and their reps took care of it. It was pretty quick, but I knew it was taken care of. Their customer service has been excellent and their reps are knowledgeable. Also, everybody in the billing has been nice.

In terms of the cost in relation to its quality, I paid for the $49.99 package. But if I look at everybody else's cost and add any extras, it was about average for the rest of them. So far, I'm a 100% satisfied with the quality of the system and it functions well. And eventually, I'm going to put a camera in. I feel better when I leave now and I have a lot more sense of security than I did before.

Their system was easy to install but I had an issue with one of the motion sensors. I didn't know if it was not registering but it took me a while to get that one set up. And at the beginning when I was setting everything up, I had a couple of questions and they answered right away. There had been a couple of times where we had false alarms but it didn't get to the point where anybody had to respond and we canceled under the 30-second mark. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Frontpoint. It's easy to use and I get to use my smartphone to activate, to deactivate and to see if there are activities while I'm out which is nice. Our house got broken into and the burglars stole everything. We’re also first-time home buyers and we decided that we were just going to get a security system. I researched forever and then the guy that I called explained to me so very well how much better Frontpoint is over everything. If the burglars smash the system, it won’t turn off and that just made me feel safe. Everyone who I’ve ever talked to at Frontpoint has been amazing. They’ve always helped me out the best that they could and always answered all my questions. The installation wasn’t very difficult at all especially if you’re very used to technology. I was very shocked that it was so easy for me and my husband to do it ourselves.

I really like everything about the Frontpoint system. I love that if a window is open I can see it in the system. It basically informs me so I know that a door or a window has been opened. My dogs chewed the system's cord. I thought that it would shut the whole system off, but it didn’t. It’s been amazing, so far. Just knowing that I have that system that will alarm me when someone breaks in or if I’m not here, it will call me and the police make me feel so much better. I also feel so much safer that I can just unlock my door as soon as I get to it and it doesn’t take me 10 seconds to come in and then turn it off or my husband as he’s really forgetting that we have a security system. Having the app on his phone is so much easier for him. He can just do it before he gets to the house.

We had a home security system through Bright House but we replaced and upgraded it with Frontpoint. During the installation, the rep stayed with me until we got the system up and running. They are very professional. When I had a problem recently with one of my components, one of the reps troubleshooted it and said it needed a new component. He ordered that new part today and it’s already being shipped. He handled the situation perfectly. When I had Bright House, trying to schedule somebody to come and do repairs or replace a part was frustrating because they don’t care what your schedule is. Sometimes they make appointments to come and fix something but they never show up. Then when they show up, they're two hours late.

Frontpoint’s equipment functions well but I had to replace the motion sensor because it was past its warranty. But when the batteries go down, they mail me new ones and they get them to me in two days. It would be good to add a battery backup feature when the power goes out. In terms of the cost, it was good. On my cottage, it stayed the same for seven years, which was why I got out of the other company because it kept adding more surcharges and fees onto it. I'm on social security and my pay doesn’t go up so if a company keeps raising the prices, they price me out of their company. Frontpoint also doesn’t need a modem like Bright House does. It works off a satellite and doesn’t need all that other baloney to be hooked up to a network. With the other system, the modem was constantly breaking down and when it does or the power goes out, I have no security. Frontpoint is reliable and simple, and I would recommend it.

I have two different properties set up with Frontpoint. My first encounter with their telephone consultant was excellent. He walked me through everything and explained every question I had. Once the equipment came in we were able to follow through on his directions. The second person that I called for the Badger Pass property, I'm glad the young man answered my every question because there are still some pieces of the system I haven’t used yet and I would’ve over purchased, so I appreciate that he wasn’t zealous into just selling me something for the sake of selling. I say that when I'm promoting Frontpoint to other friends.

When the equipment came, it was accidentally hidden with Christmas presents. A Frontpoint personnel made a follow up making sure we had it and that I contacted them once we got it. That went really well. My husband and I contacted them for the initial set up and it was awesome. The person on the phone stayed on the line for over an hour until we had everything set up and he understood the blueprint of our home. We then reset things up as opposed to how we had it. We even had to run up and down the stairs but he stayed with us to make sure every single component and piece of equipment worked and we understood it. It got complicated a few times because that person wasn’t there and would happen to go by telephone.

To take that kind of time out, it lets me see that it’s not just a product but also, Frontpoint is training their personnel to take care of their customers. We have two pieces of equipment that we haven’t installed yet, but we know that we can safely call and someone will be there to guide us. They won’t put us on a 20-minute hold and then click off which I’ve experienced with other security places that we have had security with.

In addition, the features of the security system are simple. For me, I’m not an apps person and I’m not a techy when it comes to those things, but I'm able to arm and disarm the security system, and when I open up a window, I hear the voice telling me what’s going on. It's also very easy especially for people who are heading in their golden years or their geriatric years and they need security. They don’t have to worry about detailed things and they can just press it, listen to it, and lock-up. When they come in hearing the beep and if they don’t get the beeps in time, hearing it walks you through it.

The city we live in has gotten a little more problematic and we got to take care of ourselves. And from what I’ve read online, Frontpoint seemed affordable and a good value. Their salesman was very knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. We walked through the house, and I told him the layout and my concerns. And he helped design a system over the phone, which we ended up getting. The installation was a little hard. We’re in a rental right now because we just sold our home. Things didn’t always work the way that we anticipated that they would. So there was a lot of back and forth with the technical things, but we worked through it. The installation took a little over a month, but it wasn’t totally on them. I have other queries and things I was trying to work on. We also had to get some replacement hardware and it had to be shipped.

I got a service package with comprehensive features. And for what I have, the biggest attributes were the wireless features that make it affordable which is very important because we’re in a rental and we’re buying a home so we’re going to be moving everything out into a new residence. And then, it is flexible and we're able to tailor how we manage a particular room or location in our home. The quality of the service is good for the price. I called FrontPoint a year ago to cancel my service. They said, "you'll encounter an early termination fee because you signed a 1-year contract." Not true, I signed a one-year contract. So, I asked them to send me a copy of that contract and it said two-years (in months). I thought, "well maybe I was mistaken and let it slide." This time I called today and they said the same thing, "you'll encounter an early termination fee because you signed a three-year contract." I asked them to send me the contract and it said three years (in months). So, clearly, some fraudulent behavior is going on at FrontPoint where they are manipulating the wording of executable contracts. I wouldn't recommend them or their services to ANYONE! I canceled my service and if they want to hit me with their early termination fee, then so be it.

I'm going to tell everyone I know what a fraudulent company they are. And, let them see if that $199 early termination fee was worth it for them. Bad customer experiences always (ALWAYS) lead to lost business because a negative experience is talked about and propagated 10x as much as a positive one. If they haven't already learned that lesson, I'm going to teach it to them. Beyond that, there are tons of security companies you can go with that require NO CONTRACT whatsoever. So, why on earth would you tie yourself to a poor company like FrontPoint for 3 YEARS?!!! YOU HAVE BETTER OPTIONS! WE ALL DO!

We moved into a new place. We really wanted to have a security system at our old place, but we never got around to doing it. I looked at various analyses on the web of different home security systems and I wanted one that was not hard-wired. Frontpoint stood out as having a good reputation and having good equipment so, I decided just to go with them.

The sales was great and the installation was pretty easy and went exactly how they said. The instructions were very good and pretty straightforward. I simply read through them as I did each of the types of sensors. The security system came up fine. The only issue that I have is that they had no documentation on the web how the system worked overall because it can be in different modes. They would tell me on the phone and I wrote it down for my wife and I so we could understand better when it's in the different modes being set and what happens when sensors go off. It would have been more helpful if they had a PDF or something we could download. They have nice PDF's on how to install the stuff but nothing on how the system puts together.

We've only had the system for four months and the quality of the security equipment seems pretty good. They have a couple of features, but there is not a lot of home automation features and exterior stuff that we can tie in like security lights and stuff like that outside. We have a walk-out and it would have been nice if there was a motion-detect security light that could tie in and cameras, too. The features are mainly interior which was good. I like the online interface and it works great. We can enable and disable the system anywhere using our phones. It's helpful if we are coming home and we don’t want to screw up, lift the garage door and then the alarm goes off. We could disable it when we are a mile away so, that works well for us.

The cost is reasonable and Frontpoint seemed to be in the ballpark because I also looked at the cost of the other companies. The cost, other than if it costs an arm and a leg, wasn’t as big a determinant for me as that it worked right. I was a little bit concerned about how different systems communicate back to the monitoring location and it seems like Frontpoint has a secure way of doing that, that is difficult to interrupt.

Two weeks ago, we heard the doorbell at around 9:30 at night and we wondered who was coming up so we looked and there was nobody there. That freaked us out a bit. It happened again and I had to call in and ask what the ding-dong meant. It turned out that it was our system. Other than that the security system makes us feel more secure. We have a lower level where we have smoke and flood detection. Also, the way houses are built nowadays, we have an emergency exit window that looks like anybody could kick in. That's protected by glass protection. We may not hear it upstairs but with the sensors downstairs, we would know there's something going on.

We just moved into a new house and I wanted to make sure that everybody is safe when I'm not home. We looked at all the reviews everywhere and Frontpoint had consistent reviews. The interaction with the rep went well, but I kept losing connection with the guy so I had to try to figure out how to get him back, and that was annoying. Even so, the installation went easy. We added a camera and the doorbell thing. Getting the little tabs for the doors is hard sometimes because they don’t stick into those places but that wasn’t too bad. My wife uses Frontpoint's smartphone features and she hasn't had any complaints. The best part of those features is being able to see from our phones. We have to park behind the house so we wanted to be able to see the cars if there's an issue.

We also would like the glass break things for windows to be included in our home security. That would be neat because we have a lot more windows. We'd also like a satellite office in different areas so if we have an issue, somebody could come out and check. The quality of the system has been fine, though the cost was a little expensive. We pay $600 but the camera does the whole of my vision and that’s what we pay the most for. But it would be neat if you purchased a security system for a certain amount of dollars that you didn’t have to pay the monitoring fee per month. Even so, I would tell others that if it makes sense, they should go with Frontpoint. I've heard a lot of horror stories about another security place, but Frontpoint's been hassle-free so far.

I tried to cancel Frontpoint for more than a year now but they say they would have to charge me 75% of the remaining contract if I decide to leave now. So I'm stuck with them because I can't afford to pay the 75% upfront which was something like $700 when I called them, even though I haven't used their services for close to 18 months now. The system was mediocre. A couple of time the alarm was activated with absolutely no reason which was quite stressful. I had a problem with their Smoke detector as well who got activated because a tiny bit of water came on it. And had a hard time cancelling the alarm. I would avoid this company and go on a month to month with another company. They lock you on a 3/5 years contract and you just can't escape if you decide there is better options elsewhere.

I've had Frontpoint for three months now and I love it. I liked their online recommendations and reviews. They had excellent customer and the installation was pretty easy. But I had an issue connecting some of the points and I had to return two of them. And the doorbell camera I ordered came in the wrong color. I sent that one back and they sent me the new one so everything has been very good. When the alarm went off, they called me within under a minute every time, around 30 seconds. I would highly recommend Frontpoint.

I just purchased a home and when I was looking online at consumer blogs, Frontpoint was recommended. The rep gave me a phone call and talked me through the difference between Frontpoint and ADT, such as the phone line versus cellphone towers. I liked that. The installation was all DIY. I had a couple of trial and errors when I was first installing the door sensors, but once I figured out how to put those things, it went really quickly. It took me under an hour to get it all up and running. I like all the features in my package, and I’m happy with the service that I’m getting. The quality of the system meets my expectations, and I’m really comfortable. I have no worries when I sleep at night and there is no entry delay function. Frontpoint has a really good technology, and for the price point, you can’t beat it.

I DO NOT recommend Frontpoint. They use sketchy tactics to get customers. I switched from Cox Homelife to Frontpoint because Cox required you to pay for the device upfront and it was close to $800. When I called Frontpoint, they told me I paid a monthly fee so I assumed that meant that I was renting the equipment. Now that I'm moving and don't need the equipment they informed me that I own the equipment and am on a 36 month contract and I need to pay 80% to cancel. While I'm sure the contract stated that, I was never verbally told that. I was buying a home at the time and was presented with multiple contracts so it's on me for not reading the fine print. They had no problem verbally telling me how much it would cost to cancel though. Shady tactics! Be aware!

I live in New Orleans and crime here is pretty rampant. My neighbors have complained to me about everything from break-in to their cars to people taking packages off of their porches. So, in addition to having a home security system for any potential break-ins, I’ve also purchased a separate home monitoring system to keep an eye on the front and back lawns. I did a fair amount of research and Frontpoint is among one of the best-rated security system providers among consumers. There were more well-known companies like ADT, who is pretty universal, and Vivint is pretty popular amongst my neighbors but didn’t have good customer service rating. One of the chief reasons that I thought Frontpoint would be best for me is because my family is still growing and I don’t plan on staying in this home forever and the fact that I can pick up and move the security system with me was a huge plus in their protection.

I had several conversations with Frontpoint’s sales team and before making a decision, they walked me through the different products they provide. Initially, there were about nine different sensors or devices that I was planning on getting and the one that interested me the most was a water detection sensor. Being that we’re in New Orleans, I could put that under the house in case. We evacuated because of a hurricane and I put it under the house. We live on a raised house and it has some piling so I could literally put it under the house, and if the water got to the point that it touched the fence or approached the sensor, I would know if my neighborhood was flooded or not. And that was a cool thing to be able to do if the internet went out and my security cameras were no longer functioning.

The reps talked me through all the sensors and gave me a ton of information about all the different things they offered. And they didn’t pressure me into making a decision or purchase anything. In fact, they took me close to a year to pull the trigger and make the decision and they would check in with me from time to time. They weren’t pushy about it and that was great.

The delivery of the product included a fair amount of different information about installation and there were various different ways to install the products with the sensors. But everything was self-explanatory and there was an automated system that I can use via a smartphone or a computer. I just activated each one as I went. Unfortunately, there was some sort of misunderstanding. I noticed that not all of the sensors were initially activated. I’ve received all the sensors that I ordered but they didn’t all appear in that automated online activation protocol so I called and someone walked me through it. It was amazing. They held my hand through the remaining installation process and everything was incredibly simple, and they were very helpful. I was annoyed initially but they made it very easy so I ended up coming away with a good positive experience.

The features fit my home. We have a lot of windows and doors so I chose window and door sensors for everything on the ground floor of our home. This is my first home so I had very little experience doing this and after thinking about it for a while, it made more sense to reduce the actual products that would be used and I just tried to use common sense to choose the sensor that fit my home. However, they offer two different style panels to interact with and one of them is a touch panel while the other is just standard buttons. Neither is particularly user-friendly and they’re low-tech. Even the touch panel one is outdated.

I was thoroughly impressed by the sensitivity of the glass break sensor. In actuality, I did test the sensitivity and I went around the house to tell how good the range on that was. The only problem is my father-in-law and my father don’t hear the audible sensors like the house sensors when you open and close the door so this is not ideal for older people who may have hearing loss issues. I realized that there may be visual cues that you might be able to get as supposed to an audible sensor alert. I’ve witnessed these things since I was a child and most fire alarms now have flashing light for the hard of hearing. Both of my father and father-in-law are not deaf but still can’t hear that high pitch tone. Although it doesn’t affect me directly, it affects people who are in my house on regular bases.

We activate and deactivate the alarm almost exclusively through our phone and it’s easier than interacting with the panel in the house. Oftentimes, my hands are full coming and going in the house carrying groceries so it’s infinitely easier to, once we’re settled into the car, activate it and then once coming home. Before picking our stuff out to carry into the house, we could deactivate it and if ever we forget anything or forget to activate it, we can always do that on the fly. A few days ago, my sister needed to lay low for a bit and came to our house, and I was able to deactivate the alarm without having to give her the code.

On the whole, Frontpoint is fairly-priced, and the quality of the product and customer service are worth it. We took a trip shortly after installation and it gave us a heightened sense of security in our home. We felt less concerned about something happening here to a point that we hardly thought about it at all. Everything’s fine at home and we don’t have anything to worry about so that was a nice change from previous trips we’ve taken. I would definitely recommend Frontpoint. They’re not perfect but they’re pretty close to it.

I purchased a new home and I saw the reviews about Frontpoint on Google and went with them. Their sales representatives were great and helpful. They were available for 24 hours when I called for questions. When I first called, the customer service representative asked me questions about my home and then they suggested the different things that they felt that I should need and things that I probably shouldn’t waste my money on getting. I went ahead and got the package that they suggested and once I got that, I added on items that I felt I needed for security. They were detailed with what they felt that I should need in my home based on the layout of my house. Their cost is great since I would pay the same price for the items any place else. I just stay up front for my items with them versus a monthly payment. So, I feel that the cost was fair.

When I first received their system, I had questions on installing the door sensors because it was a little tricky having a flush door. I had a little trouble installing that. It wouldn’t activate at first so I had to call about it. But other than that, it was pretty simple. There were little videos online so I just had to stick my sensors up in different places in my home, like on my windows and on the doors. They gave very detailed step-by-step instructions on doing that. The only problem I had was that their system is self-installed so they sent sticky pads but they only sent enough to put the sensors up. So, if I had trouble installing the equipment, I would have to purchase my own adhesive to put the product up.

They should at least send me some extras from time to time if I need it because it’s their equipment. We've called them up two times because the sticky pad failed. If the sensors fall and I don’t have my phone around, the police would come out to my house for a false alarm. But after having too many of those, I would have to pay the county for coming out and if I don't have my phone, there are going to be false alarms. But at least I know that if there is a problem, they will be there quick. Also, their customer service representative said that it's part of their rules not sending that out. So, it wasn’t them, it’s just the policy that once they sent out the first batch, they can’t send any more. But they're good and their response time is excellent. Also, the features of the system that they offered are awesome and I love them all. Every feature that I would want is in the security system they offered, so I liked it and I feel secure.

The new house that we bought is on some acreage, tucked away, so we bought a home security system to feel safe. We had good friends who have used Frontpoint and they've had a good experience with them so used them based on recommendations. I also liked that their system was backed up by a cell service. The salesperson that we spoke to was really helpful. He knew I wasn’t going to purchase anything right away and I was just getting pricing and everything and he stuck with me throughout the whole process. It, of course, led to a sale and their system was priced fairly. We just got the basics and planned to go from there. The only thing we had questions about was to make sure everything was set up properly since we installed the system ourselves.

The installation went well. The system gave us peace of mind and it has been working great. We’ll probably eventually order the outside camera with the way our house is set up. We also always use the smartphone feature. The only time that I use the actual device is when I'm coming in when the alarm is going off or when I'm at home and I'm arming it. However, a month or so in, the door we use the most wasn’t registering consistently so we were having a hard time setting the alarm. Ultimately the alarm was going off and Frontpoint was calling us saying, "Hey, your alarm is going off. Do you need anything?" And they always offer to transfer us to the service department when needed. But then, it was kind of like touch and go. Once we got it, it was fine. I feel comfortable reaching out to them and knowing that they'll get a resolution to an issue if there is one.

    Customer ServiceContract & Terms

    Reviewed Feb. 27, 2018

I initially contacted Frontpoint and paid my monthly bill right on time for services rendered. However, when we decided to sell our home and move to another state we began our nightmare with Frontpoint’s deceptive and possibly illegal business practices. But first, let me be clear with all prospective customers! Avoid contracting with Frontpoint. They will give you no notice of their 3-year possibly illegal adhesion agreement which they will immediately remind you of if you seek to cancel services for whatever reason. Moreover, they willfully continue to charge you monthly fees even if you’ve notified them in advance that you no longer wish to utilize their services.

First, let me define what is an adhesion contract (aka an“unconscionable contract”). An adhesion contract is where the terms of the contract are so biased, unfair and one-sided in favor of the contracting party with the bargaining power that the courts refuse to enforce the contract as written. This appears to be Frontpoint’s preferred business practice because when you read the overwhelming number of complaints regarding Frontpoint it usually comes down to their dubious 3-year agreement that they use to charge the cancelling party exorbitant cancellation fees and defended their possibly illegal practice of dipping into your checking and/or credit card account to charge you for services not rendered.

That’s why you need to stay clear of this company whose business practices are routinely reported to the BBB. Perhaps these multiple complaints may result in a very costly but customer beneficial class-action suit against Frontpoint’s bully tactics. I contacted Frontpoint in advance of our move and let them know that I was going to notify and recommend the buyer continue services with Frontpoint (“FP”). The FP rep was pleased with our recommendation and never raised anything about cancellation fees and/or their nefarious 3-year adhesion contract.

At closing we again reminded the buyer to contact Frontpoint. They said they would. We moved. Later, I discovered Frontpoint was still charging monthly fees on my AMEX card. I notified AMEX and they stopped payment and said they would dispute the charges with Frontpoint. Several weeks later AMEX called and said Frontpoint had forwarded them a copy of FP’s contract that FP used to justify their continuing to charge me even after I notified FP in advance that I was moving to another state, recommended FP to our buyer who never utilized FP’s services that FP continued to charge me for and now wanted to hit me up with a major cancellation fee and no refund for services never rendered to me or my wife since our move.

When I called to complain FP adamantly refused to countenance my situation. Now, do you understand how this business practice is unconscionable? Let me explain. First, the customer has no alternative means of recovery for fees for services not rendered by FP except to fight them in small claims court, all the while being harassed by FP’s collections agency, and in the meantime having your credit rating adversely impacted by FP’s corrupt business practices. In sum, If I do not get my issue resolved with FP I am going to do all that I can to ensure FP gets tagged by the BBB as a company that should be avoided. Likewise, I am considering discussing my issue and others’ with plaintiffs' counsel who specialize in initiating class-action suits against companies like FP who utilize deceptive and possibly illegal business practices to fleece law abiding customers.

Updated on 2/28/2018: Yesterday, I filed a 1-star review about Frontpoint (“FP”) and their disingenuous business practices and model most especially their reliance on their infamous 3-year adhesion agreement. An adhesion contract - also called an unconscionable contract - is a contract where the terms are so biased, unfair and one-sided in favor of the contracting party with the bargaining power that the courts refuse to enforce the contract as written.Buyer beware! FP never mentions up-front that they will tie you to a 3-year contract that they rely on to continue to justify their dipping into your pocket to fleece you and hold you- the customer- responsible for whatever reason when you need or choose to no longer avail yourself of their services.

My complaint generated a response from FP wherein they offered to reimburse me for 1-month to resolve my initial complaint wherein FP continued to charge me for services not rendered for a period of 7-months even when I notified them that I was moving to another state and referred and recommended FP to my buyer. What a mistake that was! Needless to say, FP claimed it was my fault that I didn’t sever the contract per the fine print in their nefarious 3-year adhesion contract. I don’t feel alone in this regard since there are many, many more dissatisfied customers who have been fleeced by this company’s unscrupulous business practices.

I rejected their offer after I initially offered to pay 1-month and have them reimburse me for the remaining 6-months they dipped into my AMEX card all the while knowing the system was not being used at my previous address. FP didn’t even have courtesy to contact me to let me know the system was not being utilized by my buyer. No, it was my fault that I didn’t contact them and go through their elaborate and one-sided closing process. Yes, they get the mine and you get the shaft.

As I said previously, I refused their ridiculous offer even after I offered to meet them halfway. Nope, FP will keep your money and waive their infamous 3-year adhesion contract in your face to justify their nefarious bully tactics. Don’t be another victim of this unscrupulous company. Instead, go with another security company who won’t tie you to a sticky adhesion contract they will use to pick your pocket when you run into problem or have to move. In closing, don’t be fooled by their glowing reports. Check out the real ratings by customers they kicked to the curb. By the way they have 2.2 rating out of 5-stars. That’s awful; but it doesn’t seem to faze FP. They just continue to roll their customers. So, you’ve been warned. Stay away!!!

The customer service was good too. I like how they kept checking in on me when they've seen that it wasn’t set up. They were easy to work with. They were flexible in just trying to accommodate my price and I got what I wanted.

The big differences include being able to arm and disarm the system using a mobile phone. It has the camera features from a phone so I have a set of eyes in my house when I'm not there. The only other thing I didn’t get from Frontpoint that I got from ADT were the panels for my back and front doors. But having it on the mobile app it's not really needed. At first we had a couple of mistakes on what product we would receive but they quickly resolved it and got it sent out to me. And so, it all worked fine. The instructions were clear for the most part, but since the views on the website and the app were a little different, getting things named was a bit confusing. But configuring it to make it work was pretty straightforward.

The security system is fine and its features are adequate for it. The cost of the monitoring, however, was a little bit pricey and I could have gotten a better deal. We've had a security system for several years and Frontpoint had more components for slightly less than I was getting with ADT so I switched to them. In addition they discounted it so I didn't have any issues with the cost. Their customer service was good too. I found them to be fairly knowledgeable and the installation of the Frontpoint system was fairly easy and self-explanatory. But I had a couple of problems getting the doorbell to connect so I called them and they walked me through. So far, the system was what I expected. It worked well. I would have liked a water alarm for a basement and moisture detector to be included in my home security feature. In general it's a step below ADT's quality. The touchpad is the biggest challenge we have so far. My wife has huge issues with the arming and somehow it doesn't work well for her.

Also, when we an accidental alarm goes off we don’t get quick calls from Frontpoint. The time delay made us feel like we could have been in a real situation. Some of it may be our fault because we've had several false alarms and they armed it in a reasonable amount of time. Also, the configuration we have with Frontpoint is different than what we had with ADT. We had an extra pad and we could disarm it when we are coming out of our bedroom which is on the second floor. This configuration has caused us to have more alarms and we feel like we don’t get calls when that happens. And when we get calls from Frontpoint, I felt like they were quick to get off the phone. The persons who called were very hasty. Once I said that it was just a false alarm, they were very curt and quick to just end the call. They didn't make sure we were okay. Other than that the Smartphone features are fine.

We've always went with Frontpoint. It was a lot cheaper than any other security company. I've had several interactions with the customer service team and they have been fairly decent. The only disappointment we’ve had is that they were very inconsistent. But since we’re stuck in a contract, there are not much options for us to get out of it at this point. We’ve had motion sensors that we’ve had issues with. We’re supposed to be able to use two of the bases where you can punch in your codes at two different locations. We were told that we could when we signed up and then we weren't able to when we got the stuff. We’ve had decent luck with them but when we moved into our new house, it’s a lot bigger and has five access points so we’ve had a lot more issues with this home than we did in our townhouse.

Also, they don’t send technicians out to your home so that made it inconvenient. They just send you the box. We’ve installed the systems at two other places so it wasn’t a big deal. It’s just that we have a lot more windows now and the motion sensors have been set off by our cats probably 10 or 12 times. They weren’t supposed to be able to do that because they’re very small and under 20 pounds but they’re still able to. Frontpoint told us to move those systems around and get multiple ones. The door sensors are fine but the motion sensors are pretty bad. We’ve also got a break sensor but we can’t test that one out. We don't usually do the motion sensors and that defeats the purpose of half of the home. But other than that, everything else seems to be fine.

We also use the smartphone features and those are convenient. When it comes to the cost, it is very comparable to the other services we looked at. We purchased our own systems so that we didn’t have to do a contract. But we had to sign a contract for this home. I don’t know if it was something new or not. We probably would have got out of the contract and used a different provider if we had known we’d have these many issues. Frontpoint is slightly cheaper and you do get to keep it but I’d rather have a professional come out and install it. And probably would have gone that route in this home had we known. But for a small place, it would be fine.

We did not have a home security system and I read positive reviews about getting it. Frontpoint was affordable and could be set up by myself so I went with them. When I had the initial call with them, it was the only time I interacted with their customer service and it was very professional, quick and fairly easy. I got their standard package and the equipment was shipped to me. I set it up from there and we just had two doors to set the alarm on. The installation instruction was straightforward. The equipment’s quality is good and I haven’t had any issues with its performance. It’s good to know that I have a working system at night so if anybody comes in, I would be aware.

We recently purchased a new home and at the time, my wife was still pregnant. So, since we had a single family home for the first time and a baby, we wanted to make sure we had a security system. Part of our XFINITY services installed was the XFINITY Comcast home security. We tried that out for 30 days and then we just saw that with Frontpoint, you could pay a little bit less and you could get more functionality. The salesperson from Frontpoint who I've worked with was great. We talked with her a couple different times. She was really patient in answering all of our questions, going through all of the options, and making sure we got the right fit and we didn't pay for more than what we needed to. It was just a very enjoyable experience working with her and I wasn't pressured into anything.

We got the basic package and the installation was straightforward. However, since we live in an older house and with Frontpoint being DIY, I need to have an electrician come out to help install our doorbell because it is not currently on outside. Also, we need to have a locksmith come out because I can't replace our lock. It is an older lock that doesn't fit the newer standard size so the locksmith has to totally redo it. But, the rest of the system including the sensors and the camera was very easy to install.

The features of the system have been good too, although there was one possible setting that we wanted to have. It was one of those features offered by XFINITY where you could be more flexible with how the motion sensors are armed at night and which specific ones you want to give off a warning versus an immediate alarm. Because we have a dog, and sometimes in the middle of the night, we feel tired with the baby and we're not thinking about disarming the security before walking around, it would be nice to have that. Nonetheless, everything has been good. The quality of the equipment was very similar with those from XFINITY. I also like the camera and the sensors do work.

We live in a fairly safe neighborhood, but knowing that we have Frontpoint system installed gives us peace of mind. Also, I work from home but when I'm traveling for work and my wife is home with the baby, being able to have that peace of mind that Frontpoint could get involved if anything needs to happen and that there is sense of security has been nice. I'd recommend Frontpoint to anyone who's looking for a feature-rich security system that's affordable and has great customer service or to anyone who's really just looking for that peace of mind for a security system.

I purchased a security system from Frontpoint for their interest discounts and safety for my fiancée, who stays home a lot by herself. From research, I saw that they were the best do-it-yourself alarm system. Everyone from their team was very friendly, and the installation was pretty self-explanatory. It took me five minutes to get everything set up. I had hooked up the battery before I plugged it in, and I was hooking up my main unit. I had to call Frontpoint back in once for support and everyone was very helpful about that.

I like the features in my system, and we haven't had any problems with being able to use the app to turn the systems on and off or being able to check and see what time the people came to check on our animals. The features I chose made the most sense. We have the door sensors, and then we have glass break sensors to be able to pick up any windows that are broken. The quality of the equipment itself seems sturdy enough. The only issue that I had was that the double-sided adhesive tape for the door sensors didn’t stick very well, so I had to replace the tape. The cost of the service is fine to me, and it is cheaper than other systems. I’ve had Frontpoint installed for two or three months now, and my experience with them has been totally fine. I'd definitely tell my friends to get them. It's easy to set up and use.

I just purchased a home and I wanted to make everything was secure since I work in New York and I have my wife and young kid. Frontpoint is better than my previous provider because of its ease of use. Their reps have been mostly informative. The only problem I had was that I'm not technology savvy or a handyman so installing things and calibrating them on my own was a bit of an issue. It's hard for me to rationalize where the things need to go. It's also hard to know if the system is working when I set it up myself versus somebody professionally installing it. I have to go away for the first time to California and leave my wife and my son behind and my first worry was if the system is working properly since I installed it myself. I had to get one of my friends who is a handyman to come over and assist me.

I purchased some equipment as an introductory thing then and when I found that I needed a couple more different items to have my system fully functional, I wasn’t able to get the same promotion that I got on getting the equipment. I feel like they should at least give me 60 days to do that. There should be a little more flexibility to customers when ordering products especially new products. And right now I’m upset because my camera pack purchase is not responding and it's offline. The system should be a little less expensive since there's no labor to it. If you're a do-it-yourself person, Frontpoint is great. If you're just like me, you might want to be a little concerned about how the system is going to respond and how you’re going to install them.

I spent quite a bit of time on the internet researching the various security providers for both hardware and services. When I go buy something, a TV, an alarm system or if it’s a car, I will research it exhaustedly. I will read innumerable articles and go through and look at all kinds of surveys so that I get the best price and the best service.

I narrowed it down to Frontpoint, ADT, or Vivint and while it wasn’t universal, Frontpoint tended to emerge as number one or two in most of them. I read a few things on Vivint and they’re getting better but they had a lot of customer complaints and customer relations issues so I just don’t want to be in that right now. ADT’s got a pretty good presence in our area but you don’t own the equipment. And you’re at the mercy of whoever comes up and installs it. In some cases, you’re going to get excellent installers. In other cases, you may not. Also, I talked to two people I work with that has ADT and one of them recommended it but the other was looking for how he could get rid of it. It was the continuous price escalation and it wasn't getting the value.

After I did all my internet research, I called and told Frontpoint what I was looking for. They had a sale package on and it had pretty much everything I wanted. But I had to add a couple of things like another motion sensor which they gave me a good price on. And there were things I wouldn't have necessarily bought like a doorbell camera. But compared to the normal pricing, if I took it out, it wouldn’t go and save me any money so everything was fine with that. It’s an additional benefit so we got all of that. I got all the hardware for $200 - $300 with the tax and all which for what I got was fair.

They sent a box and it was more or less follow the bouncing ball, read this and do this to get this to happen and step your way through it. You can do most of it straightforwardly. I was most impressed that they provided very clear directions for getting everything installed. It’s not that I can’t figure it out, but I had lots going on so I didn't have a lot of time to wait through manuals. I appreciate the fact it was to the point. It was clear and concise. I had to call them up on a couple of questions. We had one little instance that the time wasn’t setting right. They stayed and worked with me and we got it all taken care of. It’s simple.

I have had a couple of hardware issues early on but in both cases, I got the replacement out quickly. I had a little problem with the sensors being intermittent. It didn't really work and I had to return it and I got the replacement on the way. Also, the first time, I was missing a piece of equipment that was not included but I got the replacement out and was able to get that installed quickly.

Frontpoint is a good company and I think they do things well. And the service is like 50 bucks a month. They’re on the spot because we’ve had a little snafu just not with anybody breaking into our home but just somebody who didn’t know the system was on. It went out, it was triggered and they contacted me. They were right on it so I know they’re monitoring. Although they send a lot of surveys asking if I was pleased. That's fine but it’s like if I call them up and say hello, they don’t need to send me a survey right after that. But I’ve recommended them to several of my people. I referred the guy I work with who was looking to get rid of ADT to Frontpoint. I just tell people that I’ve done the homework. I'd provide them the link that I’ve come up with so they can go check it out for themselves. For the comparable money, you won’t find anything better.

I bought a new house and a home security system for it. I got Frontpoint because of their price and ease of install. I did most of the ordering for the system online so I didn't really talk to anybody. I did talk to them when I had a couple of issues setting it up but they were super responsive and very helpful. Ordering online was super easy. I got like a starter system and then added all the equipment I needed. I accidentally ordered something that I didn't need and they refunded me the money for it really quickly. The installation went fine. I downloaded their app, which walked me through each piece of equipment as I installed it and then tested it to make sure it was working. I didn't have any issues.

The app pointed me out where each item went. I was able to label each item specific to my home. And then, the app tested each item as I installed it to make sure that I installed it correctly. And then, in the end, it did like a system diagnostic test and then there was also videos training me on how to use the system. The panel comes with a cellular antenna that is a part of it where it gets its signal from. It turned out, my panel came with a Verizon antenna. I had had Verizon service so they were able to send me an AT&T antenna to help with that for free. And then they walked me through installing that new antenna which only took a couple of days.

I paid for the membership that includes the app so I can arm and disarm my alarm from the app. I can set up new users and it's very easy to use. My only complaint about the system is I have the fire alarm or the fire and smoke detectors, and they work very well, almost too well. I just need to get used to it. The quality is great. For what I'm looking for, it works perfectly fine. It has more stuff if I ever want to add to the system. I found installing it easy and it's all held up now for a couple of months.

Frontpoint's smartphone was good. They work well. There are even more tools for the app that I haven't even used yet. I just haven't had time. For what I use for, arming and disarming it, it's great. Frontpoint was wonderful and I'm very pleased. The cost compared to other systems that I've looked at and for the performance and customization, it's great. It was definitely a large upfront cost. But for the monthly subscription, it's very reasonable. We didn't have a security system before so now that we do, I feel much more secure. When we go out of town, it's much better.

I talked with Frontpoint's sales rep over the phone during my initial purchase. He called and discussed the options and what I would have. Then he went over the plans and what I would get for what I was asking for. He also gave me an expectation of what would happen when I set it up and how long. The experience was very pleasant, informative and relatively quick. Their do-it-yourself price and features together sold me. They offer the option to buy more monitors or sensors and I added a smoke detector. I looked into seeing if they were coming out with any video monitoring or a doorbell system shortly, but they don’t have it as of now.

The installation was very easy, simple and quick. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. However, some of the motion detectors were difficult to set up and verify that they were working. Plus, a few of the window/door sensors that I tried to place on my particular window setup were somewhat difficult. I had to look through and read up on the inner workings of the central module to make sure I was getting the full use out of it, but for a basic security system that went off and turned back, it was turnkey. I have a little device plan so I'm able to arm, disarm and check the status of the system from my phone. The central module gives me a bunch of options to change and set up. I very much enjoy it. When it has gone off, I've gotten prompt calls from Frontpoint security to verify that it was me or to not verify and send responders.

Also, the smartphone features are above average. While it's not topnotch, they're definitely very nice. In addition, the service has been very good and the system is very cost effective. It being there, in case something were to happen, has given me a little bit of peace of mind. I would highly recommend Frontpoint to friends who want a basic to slightly above basic security system.

He told me that “if I did not intend to use this service, then this was not a good choice for me.” He compared the use of Frontpoint to a cell phone provider. When I questioned his logic, and why he was saying this — he argued with me about why I was incorrect.

There was a tremendous difference in tone and flexibility with the representatives who set up the service, and those who answer the calls to discontinue service. I understand that not activating the service was an odd choice, but I was not asking for a refund. I found the setup process difficult (the installation of the video cameras) and kept putting it off until I sort of gave up on the whole thing. The initial sales call is very pushy, but I was ready to buy, so it didn't really put me off. I also liked the idea that the sales rep sold me on which was that I would always be able to contact him directly. Despite my attempts to do so I have never spoken to him again since The initial sales call. Not that it matters because I realize now that it doesn't matter who you talk to at Frontpoint. The problem is the equipment, so short of changing the equipment to something which isn't cheap junk, no one at Frontpoint will be able to help.

The first 3 months of our Frontpoint service was excellent and mostly trouble free. Their customer service representatives have for the most part been nice and eager to try to help, but nice is irrelevant when the equipment doesn't function as it should. The equipment is bulky and looks old and clunky. After 12 months it started to function as such. Sometimes taking several minutes to several hours to actually arm and disarm, sometimes never actually arming at all. One night we went out for a Christmas gathering, and in the few hours we were gone we could not manage to remotely arm the system and when we returned the system was still not responsive via the app.

The app showed repeated arming signals being sent, but never managed to successfully arm. Attempting to resolve this with customer service always resulted in "your signal looks good". They have offered to escalate it further and have me sit on the phone and troubleshoot the system, but I'm afraid I don't have that kind of time, nor would I want to waste it on troubleshooting if I did.

The door sensors are an eyesore. Our door leading into the garage is sprung and closes on its own, so it slams a lot. The door closing itself was enough to damage the door sensor. Frontpoint offered to sell me a new one. I was able to make it work again by moving the magnet portion of the switch to where it touches the sensor when the door closes to actuate the switch. The sensors on the exterior garage door get stuck often, showing the door is open when it is not. So you end up having to open and close it a few times before it works again. When I called them their questions were so idiotic and condescending that I hung up and decided to just live with it.

Their motion sensors are a joke. We had to reposition them so many times to get them to stop giving false alarms, to the point where their locations are practically useless. We were recently out of the country and the false alarms started again. Since we were unreachable when the company Frontpoint contracts the monitoring duties to would call, they dispatched the police for every false alarm, which has now resulted in a bill from the local sheriff's department. So we had to start using the system in stay mode only, which only works if an intruder comes in through a door. Of course the offending sensor stopped activating after we switched to stay.

Next there's the delay. 30 seconds for the alarm to go off and 30 seconds of the alarm actually going off before Frontpoints monitoring cronies lift a finger. That's a minute. One minute for an intruder to wander around your house and do whatever they want before anyone notices. Where I'm at now is having to pay both Frontpoint and another alarm company for monitoring services, because paying for the time left in your contract to receive nothing sounds incredibly stupid to me. I feel like Frontpoint generates more revenue from contract cancellations than they do from actual subscribers.

I look forward to the day I can remove all of the Frontpoint equipment and throw it in the trash where it belongs. My house is pre-wired so every window and door has a sensor on it, this includes motion or glass break sensors in all rooms. I'd much rather have the complete coverage and dependability of the hard-wired equipment.

I’ve been a customer for over two years now. Never had a problem from customer support until now. I’m currently going through a nasty divorce and I’ve been left with numerous bills including the Frontpoint system which is attached to the house my husband is keeping. I am living with my parents. They have their own alarm. I have no one to transfer the account to as my husband is unwilling to help me. When I called Frontpoint to ask for help and explained my situation I was told I could pay $400 to cancel the remainder of my contract. The other option was for my husband to keep it. That’s it.

I can’t afford to pay that amount when, and when I told them that they offered no other solutions. I’m paying for an alarm that my husband has now turned off and it’s sitting in a box. The lack of compassion for someone in my situation was unreal. I understand contracts but this is something I needed their help with, an extraordinary life circumstance and an abusive relationship. They offered me zero reasonable resolution. I would not suggest this company due to the lack of compassion they’ve shown me and I’ve made it a point to tell everyone to stay as far away from this company as possible.

    MonitoringContract & TermsTechReliability

    Reviewed Jan. 19, 2018

I have had Frontpoint for a little over three years. Unlike some others, I did know that I had a 3 year contract going in. I began to attempt to cancel the service a few days ago. I am wishing to have a different service take over the monitoring, as $42.99 is too expensive for a system with few sensors, no cameras, no smoke detectors, or anything else. They were willing to drop the price to $32.99/month, if I do another 3 year contract. I don't wish to have another contract and be locked in. It is ridiculous to require a contract for monitoring on customer owned equipment! (I paid for the equipment upfront!)

Since I started canceling the service, I spoke with a few different monitoring companies, and determined what information and actions I need from Frontpoint to allow a new company to monitor. I need to have the system set to default, or have the installer code. They agreed to provide the installer code. Good so far. I also need them to release the cellular module in the system, so the new company can access it. They have refused to release the module, saying that "they can't". That means that the only way a new company can monitor the system is for me to purchase a new cellular module. Their customer rep has been less than helpful.

As for the system itself, in the three years we have had it, we have never been able to use the three motion detectors in the house. They continuously faulted, and falsed even when in a kitchen cabinet. I attempted to resolve this several times with Frontpoint, but ultimately gave up. From that point on, I disabled the motion detectors, and simply had the doors monitored. Even then, we have had several falses with the garage door sensor, including one in the middle of the night. We arm the system as if we are home, even when away, which disables the motion sensors.

To sum up, the system never worked properly. I just gave up trying to spend time to troubleshoot the system using their phone support. Frontpoint has NO technicians that they can send out to assist. You are simply on your own. Couple that with the obstacles put in the way, and you have an unhappy customer! That said, if the service from Frontpoint was better, the system worked as it should, and the price was more reasonable, I would have never canceled. I would not recommend them at this point.

I had another security system at my old house. When I purchased my new house, I wanted another system and decided to check out Frontpoint. I told the salesperson my concerns with systems and he assured me Frontpoint was the best and had great customer service, so I went with them. I was still living in an apartment at the time and was told to go ahead and get it mailed there so I would have it. I never installed the system and have been paying for over a year (automatically taken from credit card). Times got hard, card is maxed out, so I tried canceling it... But BOOM! A THREE YEAR CONTRACT!

My last system was only a year and had no problems when I canceled. Times are hard and I can't afford my monthly statement, but if I pay 80% of the contract that's left they won't send my account to collections! WHAT?! I called and the only other option is to transfer the system to someone else. But I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone. Read the fine print and go with someone else. I should be able to send the untouched system back and they keep what I've paid, end of contract!

Let me start off by saying I am a new homeowner so I was looking for the best alarm company, so I used Google. That is how I found out about Frontpoint. Customer service is excellent. When I accept these terms, the young lady did not tell me this was a 3 year agreement. When my alarm went off they did not call me. Thank God it was a false one. You have to set up the equipment yourself. My motion detector keeps falling so I feel they are useless. Don't make the same mistake. Research more. I would of chose different.

Bad equipment, bad communication. Equipment arrived broken or incorrect, they replaced it with the wrong item, charged me for the wrong item even though I sent it back. Later, faulty motion detector sensor (it was in a closed drawer because it wasn't working!) set off alarm twice when I was out of town and I didn't even find out they had dispatched the police either time until 2 months later!!!

They called once but I did not receive it as I was abroad. I received no follow up call, voicemail, email, text, alert in the app I pay extra to be able to have, smoke signal, pigeons or anything. They just called the cops and then NEVER TOLD me that happened. I found out months later when I was calling customer service about the broken equipment. Apparently you can go into your online control panel to receive some kind of additional email alert, but this was never explained to me. This is concerning 1) because it was their faulty equipment that caused the alarm to trigger and 2) now the neighbors in my shady neighborhood knew the alarm went off but I wasn't home to do anything when the cops came.

Customer service was great on the initial call (when they wanted to sell me an expensive contract), but afterwards has been AWFUL. I have called Customer Service 20+ times since having this system trying to work through all the details to just to make this system work. The senior customer service man assigned to deal with me admitted multiple times that my case was an "anomaly" and that I should not be experiencing this level of difficulty, but was hostile on his calls with me, accusing me of not being willing to work with them to fix the problems THEY created by giving me broken and mistaken equipment not once, not twice, but THREE times.

At one point I was even assigned a Customer Service Supervisor who promised he would be my direct point of contact to help work through any further issues. However, he has never replied to my emails requesting simple information about how my system works so we can avoid another false alarm and lack of notification. I have spent hours and hours trying to resolve this, until I finally begged them to just us part ways since, as they admitted, my experience with them has been particularly terrible. However, very unfortunately I'm stuck with them for years to come.

Ok I’m back to five stars! Like they deserved! To make the story short because it’s kind of long the took care of me and my issue with my app. The technician took his time to make sure that I had have my peace of mind and my confidence back to my system. He even made sure that all my sensors on the panel were in sync with my app and had the patient to answer a thousand questions that I had about my system. To me that’s what I call excellence in customer service! Thank you so much Frontpoint and you can count on me on the next renewal. Keep up the good work!

Everything was going good with the Frontpoint App until my control Panel froze. When I receive the replacement it throw the whole sensor detection out of whack. Not only I tried to get help I had to unfortunately deleted all 39 sensors and have to relearn one by one which was a time consuming. Well now that I finished with the Control Panel my app when out of whack. So if I open the side door it gives me the wrong notification of front door instead. I’m so frustrated that I’m really thinking about not renewing my contract when is up. Come on Frontpoint!!! I have been a loyal customer for about a few years and I never have a mishap this big. I got the system and tried to install it a couple of times (spending several hours with tech support), but I never activated the system. Now I want to cancel the service and I am told that there is a 3 year contact and ridiculous 80% cancellation costs. This is completely ludicrous. Original Review: Dec. 27, 2017

I opened an account with Frontpoint when I was living in an apartment. One of the selling points with Frontpoint was that I "could cancel whenever I wanted to." This made me comfortable with the service. A year later, I bought a home in another county and contacted Frontpoint to see if I had service and if I could continue. I was told I had to wait until I moved in to see if the signal would work. No one could verify. When I moved in, I learned that I had another service provider in place with expensive equipment and was offered free cameras. So after calling Frontpoint and being told I had to call back and speak with technical support, I signed with the other provider.

When I called to cancel I was told I had a three year contract and would have to pay a cancellation fee. This is bait and switch, I liked Frontpoint but not allowing a customer to cancel after a move to more rural county that isn't listed on your website isn't really fair. I looked over the contract and what the sales person offered is very different from what you have customers sign. Also, customers only have to pay 80% of remaining charges so telling customers that paying the entire bill each month is cheaper is not true.

I have had persisting issues with Frontpoint. Their customer service is deplorable. It is darn right disrespectful to condescend to a consumer that has been paying dutifully for over a year. The technical support agents, according to the account specialists, may not be as knowledgeable about the products/services as we expect them to be, which okay... is a HUGE problem. Their sales practices are deceptive. They do not provide all the information upfront, according to customer account manager that I spoke to; however, that's apparently fine because other companies don't either? These facts that they curiously decided to leave out during their sales pitch would have CERTAINLY affected my doing business with this company. Frontpoint continuously falls short of my expectations. I no longer trust them with my security. I would like to be let out of my contract at no charge.
