    Installation & Setup

    Reviewed June 2, 2018

We decided to buy a home security system as we were hearing knocks at our door at night. I googled and some websites have listed Frontpoint as the best one. During the installation, the staffer himself screwed up the order of things so we called a guy and he was able to help us remotely and it went fine. The functionality and performance of the system are good as well. It has been a very positive experience with Frontpoint. They told us that our alarm would not be tripped by our dog because she’s small but it did. It wasn’t ideal but otherwise, it was fine.

I originally spoke with Britney and she was why I chose Frontpoint. She was awesome. When she was going over the program, she asked me what I wanted and she looked for what I needed to help me pick a package. I did the installation myself and the instructions were okay. But they didn't say how the sensor would go on the door and to match the two arrows. I had to call customer service and they walked me through it. Then, it was a smooth install.

But for three weeks, I kept getting phone calls every week that our home was not being monitored. I was a little concerned because I was paying for it and I wanted our home to be monitored. I had to redo a sensor every time they told me to and they would tell me it’s being monitored and that we're good. But the next day, I would get the same phone call. It could have been a faulty sensor though. The phone calls have stopped so I assume it’s been taken care of. Frontpoint had also given me an indoor camera which I felt was unnecessary. I needed the outdoor and I tried to have it changed but they said I couldn’t change it. I also had a problem with the camera once and they had to send me a new one but other than that, everything is fine. I like the system and the cost is okay. I don't even notice it.

We’ve always had a home security system and since mine was already outdated, we needed a new one. My interaction with the sales rep was fine and my daughter customized our package. She did the installation too and the instructions were easy to follow. I like that I can use the system with my phone now and the quality of the equipment is good so far.

Instead of not having a home security with the crime rates and break-ins in the neighborhood, I purchased one and got some referrals from my friends who had Frontpoint. My interactions with their reps were over the phone. They sent the equipment and I installed everything. And whenever I had a question on the installation, there was somebody to help. I feel pretty good about the equipment and the features of the system have been good so far. We use it on a daily basis and the ability to control it over the phone is very useful. They call back when there is an alarm and they are timely. The cost is a little bit high but it seems fine. Everything is working as expected so everything is reliable and I would definitely recommend it.

After the hurricane, somebody tried to break into my house so I bought a home security system. Frontpoint offered all the same services for a better price so I stuck with them. The reps were always quick to respond and handle the situation. They asked if I wanna call 911. The package I got was customized and I chose it mostly because I really wanted the sensors on the doors and I didn’t really care as much about the motion sensors. Plus, I didn’t need a bunch of cameras. I stayed with one main entry camera. I might order another camera in my next place.

I installed the system and it was easy to do it. Although, I had a couple of issues. I’m technologically less experienced. I like the good features offered in my system. The system is of very good quality. I also use the Frontpoint smartphone app. I like it a lot and sometimes the live feed is a little lagged but for the most part, it's pretty spot on and quality is very good and easy to manage. Frontpoint’s system is the best but the monthly fee is a bit higher than some of the other places which are $15 a month compared to the $30 that I pay Frontpoint. But equipment-wise, it is relatively on the lower price scale which is good. It is a solid security system for a good price.

We got a home security system from Frontpoint partly on online references that rated them highly. In addition, their sales and customer service team have been good. I was impressed with their follow-ups. I did the installation and it was easy. But there's a downside. One of the reasons for picking it was because it has the cellphone dial-in in case your network is down, which makes them more secure. They were one of the few that offered that five months ago. Now, everybody does. But Frontpoint's hardware is still kind of klutzy in which my wife commented on. It's Beige, 1970s-looking lumps of technology stuck through the wall. She didn’t like it for that reason. But that’s the way it works. Other than that, the smartphone feature works great. But we don’t use it very much because for it to work you both have to be away from home at the same time and you need to coordinate that a little bit.

There had been a number of break-ins in the neighborhood so I decided to purchase a home security system. Frontpoint sounded easy and it looked good on the computer screen. But my interactions with their reps had been mediocre. They were assuming that everyone has a house built after 1960. I installed the system myself but I had issues with it because there was nowhere to put the central unit. The house didn't have a wall between the central unit and the sensors and Frontpoint said that it would work but it didn't. Also, the door sensors are not made to fit a real door in an older house. The system is not worth it and I’m very disappointed. I'm just waiting for the contract to run out so I can cancel. I'm not a happy camper.

The Frontpoint rep was pleasant and knowledgeable about everything, and he was able to help me out with some things. I was not clear on a couple of points and he made it pretty obvious. I bought one system for my son and one for my daughter so I have two accounts. I installed both and one took about an hour. It was a lot easier to install. We had a problem though because they had my email address for my daughter’s house and when an alarm would go off down there, I’d get the email. But after I called them and explained, they switched it over to her email and I don’t get the emails anymore. My daughter also thinks the system is easier to use than the one that her grandmother had. The features are towards the top of the line and I like the glass breakage feature. If the system hears the sound of glass breaking, it will go off.

I went with Frontpoint and have had a good experience with their people so far. They walked me through all the purchasing and hook-up process. If I’ve had any questions, they’ve always been available to answer those. And then, it was a very easy installation and the system itself is easy to use and doesn’t have a bunch of frills that get in the way. It’s simple. I like it. I use its smartphone features and I turn the system on and off and I like that because if I leave the house, I can double check and make sure that the system’s on or off. My sense of security has gone up since having Frontpoint. If the alarm is on and I hear a noise, I don’t worry, “Ahh! There's someone in the house!” ‘cause the alarm didn’t go off. Frontpoint is doing a good job.

There were a lot of burglaries at a point in time in our area so we decided to purchase a home security system. I did an extensive research online and Frontpoint came out on top in terms of general consumer satisfaction in just the product that they deliver. I've been in touch with them via email and phone call. I was assigned a single rep, so I had a consistent touch point. They gave me a good discount in price and I got everything I ordered. The installation of the system was sort of a DIY and I found no problems with it. It was easy to set up and we're up and running. It was very simple and it could have been very complex, but the product they have and the interface they have online and via their app is very simple. I'm overly impressed with its features. It's peace of mind knowing that when we're home or away that our home is secure.

We're a big family so there's always somebody home. But when we were gonna go on vacation, we thought it was a good time to get a home security system since we weren't gonna be home. My husband picked Frontpoint because they had a better price and he could install the equipment himself rather than pay somebody else a monthly fee where we’d have to stay in a contract. He was able to customize the package we got and had some input on what he wanted. And when he installed the system, he did it pretty quickly. It was not difficult for him at all. Their customer service has been good as well. My husband was able to get a hold of people to ask questions and get feedback on how to fix things because sometimes the memory would get full and you have to learn how to deal with the extra footage. At another time, one of the cameras in the house wasn’t working regularly and he had to get help troubleshooting that.

Other than that, I like our security equipment and it's worth the cost. It's also pretty impressive, the camera footage is very clear, the alerts are really nice, and I like being able to lock the door easily. I get an alert on the phone when someone comes in the house, too. I don't use the smartphone feature as much as my husband does, but with it, we can lock the door and open it from the phone. So, it is very helpful because if somebody comes and cleans our house, we can open the door for them or shut the door if the kids forget to lock it, which used to happen sometimes when they left for school. So far, everything has worked really well. We live in a very safe neighborhood, but if we are expecting a package, it's nice that when someone puts something on the porch, we get an alert. Then, if the kids didn’t notice, we could tell them to go pick up the package at the door.

After that, it was fine and we haven't had any problems since. There are more features than we need and we don't use them all like the glass break sensor. I've never gotten to stick it on to a wall. But I was misled in the beginning to think that I got the app permanently for the price they gave it to me. And then I was surprised a few months later when that was not the case with the app access. So they gave me a few more months of the app access to cover for that. Also, they gave me some options like they would give me my money back. I felt a little bit manipulated but it was pretty good. I always had security for my house because my kids come after school and they stay at home by themselves. I had Monitoring Center for many years which was a wired system and a wall model, and their service was very good. I got in touch with Frontpoint and I was getting pushed into a bit of the sales pitch of making a commitment on the phone. The rep assumed that I know everything about it and offered the package immediately. I told him to give me time to think about it and he said that it was okay with him that he'd wait on the line. I got the security system anyway because I read some reviews online and I felt it was okay to try, but I came to know later that they have options of one-year, two-year, and three-year contracts, but he got me into a three-year contract without even telling me that I have other options. I could have made a better decision had I known there were other options.

In terms of installation of the system, it was very easy. I bought extra sensors for the door and windows, but the panel has a limitation of only seven pieces, whereas I had 10. So, I had to call them because it wouldn’t recognize additional pieces and I could not do it on my phone or on my panel. They then did something on their backend system. The features are good and most of the time, I use only my smartphone for all operations. In addition, whenever I call, I have always somebody immediately pick the phone and explain to me very patiently.

While I was in the trial period, I called back Frontpoint and somebody explained to me that there are three plans and each one comes with a different cost, then I had a better understanding. I was able to get a better price and they even reduced my billing by $5 for the inconvenience. Cost-wise, theirs is a little high because it is a competitive market and competitors like SimpliSafe and ADT are coming up with so many promotions and they offer so much of equipment and sensors, a lot of things free for almost the same monthly fees. SimpliSafe has no monthly fee or no contract, but I committed to three years, so I’ll not worry about it.

I figured I’d get a home security system since I was gonna be away from my place. Before, my wife had caretakers and somebody was in my house continuously. Also, Frontpoint came out on top in most of the reviews on the internet, for what I wanted. So, I went with Frontpoint and installed the equipment myself with their help. I also have the business security system of Frontpoint and I only had it set up doing one room, but it was good too and it worked the way it was supposed to. The business system called me when there was a fire happening, but it was too late and the whole place went completely down. I’m going to get another business security system since the building burned down last Friday.

A good security system is not cheap, but Frontpoint's is one of the more cost-effective ones that I looked at and it's much better than what I previously had. Also, my neighbors have them and they have been really happy. Frontpoint's reps were all really nice and helpful. They made recommendations about products, were incredibly knowledgeable, and then they were really quick to follow up with more information and helped me when I got to the set-up mode. They give you exactly what you need without anything more, which is good. You get the package, it tells you step-by-step what to do, you set it up from your phone. It's really easy to use. It's also easy to return things if it doesn't work out. When we're away from the house, I feel much better that I know exactly what's going on in the house and can arm and disarm from far away. We live in San Francisco and it worked when we went to London, so we're very happy with it.

It's been a long time since I started with Frontpoint, but I'm still in the process of getting the system set up in my part-time house. First of all, my house is in a somewhat rural area. I told the salesperson before I signed up for it that that was the case and the cell phone service might not be that good. He told me that they would take that into account and give me some sort of a cell phone booster. He was very professional and knowledgeable, but that turned out not to be right and I ended up having to get a different kind of base system. So, that was all kinda hassle.

Then, the installation was more difficult than what Frontpoint made it sound like it was gonna be. They make it sound like you're gonna be able to open up the box and pop it on and just watch the instruction on the app. And that's not accurate. Although when I've called them and asked for help on the installation, they've been extremely helpful and they could walk me through it. The cost seems fair too. But, the other thing about my experience is that to get the system all set up and make it work, you have to be in your house longer. I've explained to them that my house is a part-time house, so I'm not really there long enough to do it.

I purchased a home security system with Frontpoint, and I did the installation myself. It was a little difficult because I had a problem with the adhesive that goes with the sensor. But with the problems I had installing, the programming people helped. Once I installed it, I had to call in to program it. Frontpoint's representatives are very well-knowledged. They know what they’re saying and what they’re doing. There isn’t a time where I needed them where they didn’t know how to resolve the issue.

The only problems I have with Frontpoint is when an alarm goes off, it doesn’t give me exactly which one it is. So then I have to hunt through the house to figure out which one it is. And if I’m not at home, I don’t know which one is actually down. Other than that, the features that were offered with my system were good. Frontpoint is a little expensive, but a lot of places are. I have two accounts with Frontpoint for two different houses. And the first package didn’t come with all the accessories that the second package did. It is the same package that I’ve purchased. We had the house built with a security system but the guy that used to monitor it sold the company to an outfit up in Louisville, Colorado. The system was 13 years old and I thought it was time for them to look at it and see if I needed any upgrades. I was told I needed to do this and that even though the person has never even seen the system. How would he know? He told me that if I had a wired system, that was what I needed to have an upgraded system and it was worth $2,000. I asked him what was wrong with a wired system and then finally decided that I was not gonna put up with that.

I called the owner of the company and told him that I owned the system and I was leaving them. He said that I had to give him 30 days' notice and I said, “Okay. You got 30 days.” But then he said I had to have it in writing. He was as big a jerk as the guy that I talked to on the phone. I told him that his attitude was what killed it. They pissed me off so I went out and looked online. Some of the others were talking about big-buck items right away and it just turned me off. On the other hand, Frontpoint sounded pretty good and although it is a wireless system, they had come down on the price.

I put the sensors up, which just stick on the wall. That’s not brain surgery there. The installation was all right but we couldn’t get it into the computer on our own. I let them do it. The other system had a battery back-up and had all the doors wired. This just has eight sensors on it and carbon monoxide. It is an all right system. It doesn’t have near as many sensors, but it’s supposedly gonna work. The other system didn’t have any motion sensors because we have dogs. We had one that the dogs kept tripping.

I put one in our office in San Diego and it was hard-wired but computerized. When the trash truck comes by, it would rattle the windows of the two-story office building. But that computer learned that on a certain time and a certain noise, it’s the trash truck and it doesn't set off the alarm. This system won't do that so I wonder if I have this up-to-date. But if it will go off when somebody breaks a window, that’s what it’s supposed to do.

I thought the equipment was a little cheap. Everything’s plastic but nowadays everything seems to be plastic. They threw in a camera in that feeds off of my WiFi but it wouldn't stay hooked up to it. But that has been rectified and now, I can look in my phone and see the front room of the house. However, they could’ve kept the camera and knocked the price down. I just use the smartphone feature for the camera. You can set and disarm the system. You can also see if the alarm went off and why, because either they or the system calls my cell phone when it trips and as soon as you disarm it again, it automatically calls the house. But it takes a lot to impress me and it doesn't have all the features.

The pet sitters tripped the previous alarm and they'd panic. I would tell them to put their coat on the alarm and to call the number on the panel, which was the first number in the autodial in the phone. But this one has a verbal actual password. The other one was just numbers, 1-2-3-4 type. You can have 30 security codes in it so anybody that comes in the house can have their own specific code and you know who unlocked the door and came in.

The monitoring’s a little bit more but sometimes when you get pissed off, you gotta pay that. I was also a little leery that maybe being wireless, it would go to some place and then it would have to go to another place and then they get the monitor. But I was told that's only when I call in. Apparently, when the alarm calls in, it goes right to their monitoring people on the East Coast. These guys seem to be fairly knowledgeable when you talk to support. They're not in Indonesia and they try to do what they can to rectify the problem. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s pretty decent for the price. I haven't had it not work and it has worked a couple of times.

Then fortunately, I had to do the installation myself. While it wasn’t hard, I wish I had known more about hanging up the main device at the front door so there's no outlet there. Other than that, the cost in relation to the quality of service is fair.

I needed security for my home and I selected Frontpoint as my home security system as it was cheaper. The installation of the equipment was fairly easy, except for the glass break sensors which are still not working. I followed the installation steps properly and put the sensor in the proper place. However, I think the 3M tape which was given to me was not proper, and after that, the sensor fell after some time. After it fell down, it is always in alarm mode. I tried to fix it but couldn’t and I have also called up the customer care. They could not fix it too. So, the only option I had is to replace the equipment and I didn’t have enough time to ask for a replacement. Still, my system’s features are good. It’s important for me for someone to keep an eye at my home and I need an automated system which can call 911 or contact the authorities in case of a break-in if I’m not available. That’s the most important part this system provides me and I’m happy with it.

However, I’d like it more if I’d be able to split the system into different systems based on a part of the house. Like when I’m going to sleep upstairs, I would like to set my downstairs system to have motion activated. And then a part of the system that is non-motion activated. Then when I come down, I can change it on the fly. It’s like a dynamic kind of a system that I’ll be more interested in. But I know that’s a stretch goal and it may not be available right now. Since I had the Frontpoint system, I've been sleeping easily. I purchased a pretty big house and it’s new, and half of the time I had a thought process on what happens if someone breaks in when we are at the office as me and my wife both work. This security system has given us peace of mind.

The sensors didn’t lend themselves really well to special moldings and trends on doorways, so it makes it a little more difficult for the installation. But the installation went pretty well. The system’s features are pretty good. The touchscreen keypad ought to be updated though as it is pretty outdated for today’s technology especially in looks. We had always had a security system, so when we moved to this home, we knew we needed a security system. We were gonna go with another company, but we heard about Frontpoint so we gave it a try. However, we appreciated the previous system we had a little better because not only did they install the system, they made sure everything was working properly. To this date, we don't even have all of the system installed because we've got to wait until we can get an installer since Frontpoint doesn’t provide installation services. We have to do self-install and it was challenging. I'm not able to do wiring of doorbells and putting all that kind of stuff in. So, we don't have the doorbell installed nor the camera that would allow us to see if anybody rings the doorbell. We purchased equipment that we haven't yet been able to utilize, so that has been a bit of a bummer and very disappointing.

Also, the features of the system are generic to any other system with the exception of the doorbell, which was a specialty feature that we had liked about it. In addition, the interaction we've had with customer service was just to walk us through and if we couldn't figure it out, we'd call them. But it's pretty much you're on your own. They'd do whatever they could do and try to see what's not working, and then you let them know you still haven’t got that in. Then, they'd tell you that once you get it installed to call them and they would make sure that it's functioning on their part.

We purchased a new home and Frontpoint has been far more superior than my previous provider in terms of the technology, the pricing, as well as the customer service. With the sales side, I had spoken with a young lady and she provided me very realistic information. I come from a call center background and I've made a profession out of call centers, so I do performance coaching. This coming from the industry having her not be "salesy" or pushy, just answering my questions earnestly made me appreciate more the fact that she was more focused on my needs versus selling me something. Also when I had received the courtesy call, it was during regular work hours and I was wondering if they're going to actually listen to when I say that the best time to catch me is between 6:30 and 7. And they actually listened which was good.

Then I had an additional interaction with the setup of the system. I had to call a couple of times because I'm not exactly the most tech savvy at times. I spoke with three individuals during that process. But everyone was extremely patient, very informative, and made sure that everything was working before even letting me go on to the next step or to the next process.

My very last interaction was when my SkyBell front camera stopped working. It just wouldn't connect to the WiFi no matter what we did and we tried all of our regular troubleshooting through the app. We finally called and the young lady that I spoke with was fantastic. I had T-Mobile for a bad service and I dropped the call on her, and I was like, "My bad." Frontpoint's rep called me right back and made sure that I was walked through all of the steps and once she realized we've done everything possible, she gave me the option of having it replaced. She sent me immediately the shipping label, providing me with instructions and exactly what I needed to do.

I received the bell within the timeframe that was expressed. I also received the label right away so I was able to send it back and then we have our functioning system. I didn't have to think about making payments and it's just automatic. And the system is not extremely expensive whereas the prior provider, I almost wrung my husband's neck when I found out that the only thing it was actually protecting was our front door. And meanwhile, we have 5 sliding glass doors. It makes absolutely no sense to me why anyone would protect one out of six doors, of which five are made out of glass.

The installation went great. It really is just impatience on my part and it's funny because when I write and teach classes, I advise the same thing, "Read instructions first. Read everything thoroughly before doing anything." And I didn't follow my own advice at that point. The multiple times in which I bumped into something, it was more user error than it was anything that was not well explained or put together. The way I saw it, that was more Waleska than it was Frontpoint.

The equipment is of very good quality. Frontpoint provided me with my own options and technology for pretty much half the cost of what I would have gone with anyone else. My husband and I were talking about adding some cameras in addition to what we have. It's like, "Okay, so if I decide to go with something that as long as I have that Bluetooth and WiFi capability, we are golden with Frontpoint." It's versatile. It doesn't force me to be with one particular brand or one particular item. I feel more relaxed having the system. I'm a happy customer and I'll give others the information on how to start up with Frontpoint.

My only good experience with them was with the guy who sold me the system. Other than that, I’m extremely unhappy and as soon as my contract’s up, I would leave the company and not go with them again. I’ve been seriously disappointed. I’ve had a home security system for many years. We live in a very rural area about 550-feet off the road so we also purchased a security system for our current home. We had CPI before and granted my insurance with Frontpoint is fairly limited and that we’ve only had it operational about two months the way of the app interface is very similar. But I like CPI when the alarm went off. They were fairly immediately picked up whereas Frontpoint seems to have a little slower response time than CPI.

But the sales representative of Frontpoint was fantastic and did a really wonderful job of talking me through the house. I had a cinema house plan because this is a new construction home and I was able to talk through what devices we needed. He gave me some really good advice on choosing, “Do you go with contact sensors for windows or glass break to cover the whole room?” He helped me design a system that would cover everything we wanted to cover but keep the cost reasonable.

The installation was okay. But it was a little difficult in terms of determining what sensor was what in the base unit. And then how that corresponded to the web access. It took me a couple of hour on the phone with the rep to get the system totally set up the way we wanted it in terms of no delay when we are in stay mode, home mode, keeping the chimes during the day. So it was certainly a more evolved process than what CPI included.

The equipment cost was about $1,000 cheaper than CPI and it is a decent bit of money. So from that standpoint, I’m happy with the cost. But I just got the system plugged and laying on the counter. While CPI installed it at a much more seamless fashion attached to the wall. I would’ve liked to have the option for a professional installation to come out. I would’ve been happy to pay a little bit more for that. That would have saved me from headaches there, also if I had a little more seamless process in emailing and more seamless integration of the control panel in our home.

But the web interface really is a step up at least from what I experienced at CPI -- the ability to go in and add temporary codes. For example, we installed our system before the construction was completed. So I could give the builder or other trades people temporary access to come into the house and do things that would expire after a day or two. You’d be able to set them their own code. That’s very simple and easy interface, I really liked that. The web interface at Frontpoint is pretty stellar and I was very happy with that. Everything seems to be working fairly well at this point and we’re happy with it.

I appreciate the siren feature because even in the morning when he’s coming in, it wakes me up with just a simple click of him coming in the house.

But we got a stereo system and when my husband turns it up, it’s setting the glass breaks off. So, we’re gonna have to take off the glass break sensors and just go with the window sensors in the house. Other than that, everything is great with Frontpoint and we're happy. I haven’t returned it yet and he told me to call back some time in the near future to try and troubleshoot it, but I haven’t gotten there just quite yet. Also, we have a video monitor inside the house and it works on Wi-Fi. Sometimes, if the Wi-Fi isn't very strong, it won't pick up on our phone and we can't see anything. But besides that, everything works great.

I have two security providers and they both call when the alarms go off. They're both good, but I needed and I was looking for a security system that had a reasonable price. Frontpoint's price was reasonable and they also had a good rating, so I picked them. Everybody at Frontpoint was nice. I realized that the reason why we got the security system at such a reasonable rate with Frontpoint was because we installed it ourselves. At first, I was a little aggravated with the installation, but once I got into it, it was fairly simple.

I just bought a new house and I travel a lot and I ended up with Frontpoint since they had a special going on. They had good reviews as well and I could pretty much install everything myself. The customer service is good and I had a good interaction with their reps. Also, when we were getting the system set up, everything was very easy. I looked up everything online so I knew what I wanted. When I called, the gentleman went over everything and confirmed what I had already read online to make sure that I understood them. Then he told me briefly how to install the system once I received the items plus, it was self-explanatory.

There are not a lot of options as far as hardwiring because when I asked about the cameras the other day, the rep said they could do it since it’s basically a plug-in. They should offer it to somebody like me because the basic stuff is very simple and very easy to install when they send it out. Cost-wise, the quality was good but I have another company that’s trying to sell me some stuff where they would hardwire everything including cameras so I called Frontpoint to ask how much it would be to get out of the contract. If I have cameras and stuff outside, I would want the option to have somebody come in and install professionally, which Frontpoint may have but that wasn’t discussed. But so far, I have had no issues and the equipment was easy to set up. Everything is on your phone and on your app. It is a big thing for me as far as being able to handle everything from the phone especially if I'm on the road traveling.

I've had Frontpoint security for approximately three years. My items installed are; door opening, motion, freeze warning, and water flood sensors. I'm not home in the winter (snow bird) therefore I need the freeze and water sensors. My sump pump failed and my finished basement had 3 inches of water for approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Needless to say my water sensor did not activate even though it was right next to the sump pump on the cement floor 1 inch away from sump pump.

My neighbor found the water in the basement when he was checking out my furnace. I have a redundant system whereby a light in the window will light if temperature goes below 50 degrees (my own system not Frontpoint). My furnace went out when water shorted out the blower motor, thereby turning on the light in the window which my neighbor saw and checked it out. Frontpoint water sensor did not send an alarm!! I have thousands of dollars damage: Drywall removal, carpet removal, furnace repair, clothes dryer repair. I do not yet have the mold removal cost.

When I got home from Florida I checked the water sensor by placing it in a glass pie plate full of water and it did not activate. I advised Frontpoint of this and they said we would like to have the sensor back so we can check it out to see if it's OK. What?? I didn't send it back. I know Frontpoint Alarm is not an insurance company but I thought when I read my contract I would have at least $500-$1000 liability from them. The highest ranking person in customer satisfaction, Michelle, said, "No, that is third party failures only." She said, "The best I can do is give you a new water sensor and three months free". Obviously I've declined such a ridiculous offer. Don't sign up with Frontpoint, if you get burglarized, they will probably say: "Sorry, we'll give you 3 months free."

The installation wasn’t as easy as they said it would be and took a lot more work than I expected, but it wasn’t bad and the instructions were detailed. Other than that, the system's features are great and the smartphone app is easy to use. The one thing that I constantly have issues with is the loss of internet connection to our indoor camera. Frontpoint sold their product good and we had a good salesman who knew about the product very well. In installing the system, I started following the instructions but then it was asking me too many numbers and components and naming different glass break sensors so I figured I would call to make it easier. The reps walked me through the process and did well. But I wish Frontpoint would have some testing mode or they could call us every month to let us know that all our sensors are working properly. Protection 1 was between $30 and $40 a month but it didn’t have the digital aspect, so Frontpoint is worth the extra. I like its virtual use with the smartphone. I have the smart doorbell as well which actually helped us catch somebody and to have a police investigation two days after installing it. I got the audio too which was really incriminating.

The installation experience was pretty poor though. It was very challenging and the instructions were very cryptic. It did not go as advertised. Also, the keypad seemed very cheap and they had to send me a replacement because the first one was cracked and was missing a part. But they have a great customer service. The system I got was not state of the art but it’s not like its guyed. It’s not the best looking stuff but it works and it’s effective. However, when you get the devices, they’re not new and they’re like returned. You’re on a contract and if you discontinue, you send the stuff back. The products are not in the original packaging. They kinda set everything up for you and configure it all. Then they put it all in a box with instructions and when you get it, you attach it how they tell you to attach it and turn everything on. It’s supposed to work and in my case, it did. In the test I’ve done without actually triggering the thing, it seems to work okay. But I’m not sure how I could test one or two of the devices. There’s a glass break sensor which appears to be sound based and I’m not sure how to test that without breaking some glass.

We just moved into a new house which didn’t previously have a home security system and Frontpoint came with a high rating. Their customer service was easy to deal with and was rated well. Mostly when I called them, they answered my questions and they were not pushing services on me. They explained the three-year contract which was reasonable. They were professional and I respect that. I told them what I needed and they sent out the number of sensors that I needed. It was plug and play and the system was very easy to set up. It’s basic compared to the sensors that I looked at and we’re happy with the service. Also, it’s on Wi-Fi. The equipment is newer and does not look like in the 80’s or 90’s. The system is up and running, it does not fail and when we tested it, it worked so it’s solid. I can see the sensors tripping through the smartphone feature and the app itself is self-explanatory. It’s also easy to navigate and simple.

After the sensors were installed, I realized a few days later that I missed the window and I called them up. I asked them to send more sensors but they didn’t send any. They told me I had to get and buy one myself which is okay. I wish they could have been a little bit more reasonable and just sent me another sensor but it was no big deal. We can't really test the system until we need it but it’s there and I feel that it would work when it’s definitely needed. It seems to be monitoring the way it should be and it seems to be doing its job. People should consider Frontpoint and I would recommend them. But I wish that they can lower their monthly fees. I paid $99 for an entry fee, and I got all the sensors that they advised. I’m paying $45 a month and that’s tight compared to systems that are $15 a month. Also, they locked me into a three-year contract which most don't now.

I have a higher sense of security. I work nights and my girlfriend is sometimes here by herself and that adds a layer of security for her. The windows and doors are all covered and while she's sleeping and the system is armed, I have peace of mind. Plus, whether or not the doors open in the middle of the night and some intruders come in and something happens, I'm glad that they're there if they have to step in and alert the fire department and the police where we can’t manually alert them. I hope it never happens but if it does and they did that, everybody is safe, there are no other issues and they catch the guy, I’ll pay double for that level peace of mind.

But I’m paranoid about people coming into my house and the thought of somebody else installing the system bothered me. With the Frontpoint system, we liked the idea of being able to install it ourselves. We had also researched many things and considering the value and what they have, Frontpoint was our favorite. My hubby is a techie guy and the installation wasn’t difficult at all. We were afraid we were too far away from certain things. So we called, did some measurements, wandered and found places we can put the equipment in. It was super easy. Plus we really liked the feature of the motion sensor that allows us to put it in a corner. We appreciated that greatly.

We’ve had a little bit of issue with some static coming out of the voice box, but it’s nothing that we’re concerned about. We also had a sensor that had gone wonky but Frontpoint sent us a new replacement so it was no problem. Generally, the equipment has been good so far. I once burnt some food at the bottom of my oven and when I opened it, it smoked. The smoke detectors went off and we opened the door. Not much longer later, we had alarms going off. We totally forgot to turn the alarm system off before we opened the oven door. But the system worked great. Another time, I was cleaning a glass bowl when I dropped it on my counter and it broke. My glass break sensors went off and I was really shocked. I didn’t understand what happened at first until hubby said he would reset the alarm. But the sensors work and that makes me feel better.

Additionally, we have always been impressed with Frontpoint and their customer service. They’ve never treated us like we were being ridiculous no matter how ridiculous we felt our question was. I also genuinely like knowing that I can always get somebody on the phone. That’s a security within itself and that makes me feel better. We’d go with Frontpoint again.

I can control by my phone and I can set up each one with their own password login, so I can identify them. The system is pretty user-friendly. Also, there's a cloud feature where I can manage the system better. I even purchased a little remote key for my wife to use. I'm pretty pleased with the system and I would refer Frontpoint to my friends too.

    Contract & Terms

The Hotel California of Home Security Companies... you can check in any time you like, but you can never leave. Buyer beware - read the fine print. First, shame on me for not carefully scrutinizing the fine print in the contract. If you leave Frontpoint at any time during a contract period (ad a move adds additional obligation for extension), there is a cancellation fee of 80% of the remaining months on the contract.

We sold a house and purchased a condo, and moved our Frontpoint service. Since our contract had not expired on the original service, Frontpoint added an additional 24 months to the contract to move the service and have us avoid the cancellation fees. Due to a job change, we sold the condo and moved to a new location that had its own community alarm service. The only way out of Frontpoint's outlandish cancellation fee is if the new homeowner accepts the contract (which they refused), or if you move it, and add additional months to your contract.

Frontpoint had us locked in and would not budge. They also require 30 days advance notice to cancel, so we notified them May 18, had to pay the full amount for June, then had to pay an $823 "cancellation fee." There are other security companies on the market that do not lock you into a long term contract, and do not charge an outrageous cancellation fee. Unless you happen to own a 100% accurate crystal ball to know your future moves, don't get locked in by Frontpoint. Go elsewhere where you can check in any time you like, and you can always leave...

Being in a new house and a new community, I felt uncomfortable not having a some security system in the house. So, I researched online for products and Frontpoint kept on coming up as one of the better ones. I looked at the features, the equipment that they offer and the price too. It was reasonable and I’m willing to pay the extra money for quality. It took me a couple of months before I signed up with them because I was doing my research but I did call back and spoke with the same individual I spoke to months ago. The rep had to profile and it was easy and simple to go through the entire process of ordering the system. As a matter of fact, it didn’t even take as long as I thought.

To my surprise, the installation was easy. I thought the set up would be more intensive but it was straightforward with the instructions and it was so easy to expand it yourself. I had the basic package with some stuff but I wanted an additional glass break sensor and I added that on as well. The quality of the equipment was fantastic. Overall, the system works. The response time is great and on point and the billing is not confusing. And the system is straightforward with the app. It’s good and I enjoy it.

I moved into a new area and decided to get a home security system. Frontpoint, being easy to setup and cheaper overall, was my choice. Additionally, I got the system on sale. Their reps have been friendly and helpful and installation was easy. I'm satisfied with the features but I had an issue with the smoke alarm being too sensitive, where you can just walk past it and it would go off. They offered to replace it, but I told them to just to take it off the account.

The fact that Frontpoint is wireless makes it stand out from the competition. It's been a pleasant experience so far. Once I got the hang of it, the installation was easy. But there's been one little confusion with an app, which is the ability to lock or see the status of the system or lock it remotely. It's a feature that's available free the first 30 days and after that I have to pay an additional amount of money but I wasn't told that.

But the system is exactly what I needed. It's simple and provides the security that we need. Plus it is very cost effective compared to other companies out there. The system is at a rental property and the renters really like and use it. So that makes me feel good because I feel I provided an issue-less security features with the properties.

We live in a neighborhood where homes are broken into quite a bit. When we set the Frontpoint system up, the person on the phone was helpful and the installation was easy. The system didn’t work one time though. We came home and we might have left the front door open for the whole night. And it didn’t show up at all. Usually, if a door is left open for a long time, I get a text. So, we thought that we should look at that before we go in, and it didn’t even recognize that it was being opened.

I added some additional things to it from what the original they sent me were. I bought five or six different pieces. Also, I use their smartphone feature all the time on my phone app to turn the alarm on and off. I turn it on when I leave with my car and I turn it off when I get home if I remember. However, the cost is too high and I don’t like the idea of having to sign up for an agreement for three years. I paid for the equipment and I don’t know why I have to agree to do it for three years.

In terms of features, they had everything we could ever want as far as all the options with the cameras and the add-ons. Our service package was customized to what our house needed too.

The installation was easy and the instructions were good. It’s hard to make a one-size-fits-all text but I thought they did an overall pretty good job with it. They even called and emailed several times to stay in touch to see if we needed help. They instilled a lot of support. The system is good to have. You never know when you're gonna need it and I definitely feel better about having that than not having it. Everything seems to be functional and very good, and I use the app all the time. The only thing I wish it had was a timer where you can program a schedule or a time. Other than that, it’s excellent and simple to use. It was also good how Frontpoint was able to set up the sensors in the basement so that we can turn everything on when we go to sleep and not have to worry about setting off the sensors in the first floor.

I’m happy with their customer service. This is my second Frontpoint. I have one in my first house and then I moved. The first one went through rather smoothly. And the second one, with the exception of the doorbell camera, which a little bit tricky, everything else seems to be fine.

We transitioned from our apartment and we bought a house. We had a really bad break-in years ago in our previous apartment before the one that we lived in for eight years, so since then we've always had a security system. I have the peace of mind with having it. The apartment had ADT but we didn’t have to deal with it because it was through our complex. This time, I wanted a home security system that didn’t have a contract because I have friends telling nightmare stories about Vivint and ADT and three-year contracts. I wanted something that was easy to use and manage, so I did my research online and found Frontpoint. Just about everyone at Frontpoint that I called for troubleshooting, from my camera and down to setting up the equipment in the house, had been really patient and helpful. The installation was pretty easy even though I still had to call because I've got to hear someone's voice.

I love the system and the ease of being able to connect to my camera. I have a dog at home too, and when my husband and my kids are there or if my husband's not answering the phone, I can get on the camera and say, "Hey, who's at home? Answer the phone." That's cool having the ease of checking the camera and knowing that I can monitor my house outside of being there. And I've recommended Frontpoint to other people. The only thing that I'm concerned about is, like with other systems, there is a delay. In an emergency situation the alarm goes off for some time, and yet no one comes out. Having that fear is kinda stuck with me. The alarm went off on accident the other day and Frontpoint was getting on a call, but I cancelled it. So, I should try to check it out one day to see how that works.

We just moved to an area where there were some minor car break-ins so we got a security system for peace of mind. I did some research and there was marketing that said Frontpoint was the best company that was out there. So I called them up and just took a chance with them. The customer service has been excellent and the system has just been very user-friendly.

We're not extremely techie people and it was just that there was a problem with the system when it was sent out to us. We have a baby in the house and it took a while for us to get our system set up. They stayed in touch with us while we haven't set it up. And when we finally did get it set up, they had addressed one of the sensors incorrectly. I thought I had done something wrong in setting the system up myself but it turns out that it wasn’t something I did at all. It was something that they did when they set the system up and they were able to fix it easily and explained it to me. Beyond that there was no problem at all. So it was easily understandable and they explained it to me and walked with me through every step and stayed with me on the phone through every little minor thing that I did.

I'm satisfied with Frontpoint. I feel that we're covered with the glass breakage and the motion sensors in the area. But I would have liked to have more sensors available to cover all of the ground level entries, including the windows, in the basic package. That would have given me a little bit more peace of mind. However, they kind of appeased me with the glass breakage sensors and covering the main entry ways. I would like most of my windows to have sensors on them without having to purchase sensors for every window on the main level.

We're paying premium on the monthly so I don't know if we're going to keep it after the three-year contract. A three-year contract is long term to be locked into the agreement so I'm really not happy about that. And it's more expensive than some of the other companies. When I see other companies coming out with newer technology, I'm thinking maybe I would want to switch after. But hopefully this is a good system for us and we'll be okay. It's been everything that it said it was going to be. The system works and I would tell somebody that it's a good system except that I will be upfront that it's a three-year contract.

Frontpoint is very easy to set up versus using Comcast's alarm system. They have everything hotwired as well. Moreover if you have issues with the electrical system they got battery backup. It's working off cell towers versus electricity if there was an immediate issue to the alarm system. However, during the installation, I've been having issues with the control panel. I've ordered three control panels like key fobs that had some issues with it. So when I'm on the phone with Frontpoint they'd walk me through, but it ended up with them sending me another control panel. Furthermore, the control panels go out from time to time, the sensors would go out as well so the issue is more with the actual equipment versus the staff and that type of deal.

While the system is doing its job, for the most part, I'm not happy with how the equipment operates and then when I called to rectify the situation it ended up with having to replace it. So I don't know if it's old or refurbished equipment. And it has been my issue with Frontpoint since I have two properties that I'm using the security system with and I'm having the same problem with another property and equipment as well.

The part that gets frustrating is when it comes to securing my property and there's an issue with the control panel. That means I can't secure my property. If someone was to break in or something happens within the time I'm waiting for them to mail the equipment, then my question would be who would be responsible? And it happened three or four times and they have it on record as well that they replaced it and sent it in the mail, or one of the sensors would go out and no longer working as brand new after having it for two months.

Other than that, the app on the phone is user-friendly. It's simple and I like it. I started using the video feature months ago but you have to connect it to WiFi so it's a different experience. And I'm not a big fan of it since the way the equipment works as far as recording, is that it only records if somebody breaks in or if the alarm goes off. So to my knowledge when I spoke to them they didn’t have the 24-hour recording or where you can record and leave it in the cloud. My experience with Comcast, which was my security provider in the past, is that they have that feature. In fact, I was almost to the point where I'm actually considering switching back because of the type of work I'm in. I need to know what's happening to the property at all times and not being able to view it 24-hours is gonna be an issue. Because for me it's more about protecting the property or at least the person's line of defense.

Sure you can’t stop a person from breaking in, but the difference is that it's able to notify me when it needs to notify me when something's happening, so I can notify the police. Incidentally, two of the service fans on my property ended up coming up missing. I had no clue who did it, didn’t go to look at the video to see who was the last person that was in. I was able to know the last person who left but throughout the day there were five or six people who were coming in and out. While the camera was in the right position, but where the inventory was at, I can't go and see unless somebody actually breaks in. But they have permission to be there.

People are asking me about Frontpoint and I tell them it's good. The customer service representatives are helpful and knowledgeable. The system is also easy to work with. It lets you know if somebody wants to break in and it notifies you right away. But if you're looking for it to help let you know what's going on with the property or the issues going on, that wouldn’t be a good system to purchase.

I bought a house and I was going to be living alone so I wanted to get some security system. Frontpoint had some customer ratings so I figured it was a good company so decided to go with them. But I wasn't too happy. First off, they sent the system to the wrong address because I wasn’t living at the actual address yet. I asked them to send it somewhere else and they sent it to the wrong address. I had to call again. Then they sent the wrong thing. I had to send it back and wait for the correct one to arrive. And, the video ring doorbell that they sent me didn’t connect for some reason to my Wi-Fi. The instruction seems easy. It was just when I got to a certain step, it wouldn't connect. I called for assistance but the rep was unable to help me. All he told me was to try it on someone else's phone. I did but it still wouldn't connect.

By that time I was just fed up so I sent it back and I told them that I'll be calling in a week or two to cancel but they never arranged anything to me. I was under the impression that I could cancel. But when I finally called, they were saying I could't because it was past the trial period. I wasn’t happy with my experience. I tried calling and emailing the guy I ended up doing the contract with and he never got back in touch with me. He just made a sale and was done with it. So I ended up just talking to somebody else. Even then, they could see how unhappy I've been. They ought to make an exception for me. But for a company that says they care more about customers than making money, it just didn’t add up. I called them and I wanted to talk to someone higher than the last person I spoke to. But he said his department was the highest and I said, "I'll just try the letter," and he pretty much told me the letter's going to end up at their department.

So, there's no way to get to a CEO. Nevertheless, the people in itself were never rude to me. They were nice. It was only that initial guy. Before I got to the last guy, the guy before him said, "Well, we never give trial period this long." And then he said he needs to pull the calls with what the rep told me. After a long wait, he came back and said, "Oh, we can't pull the calls." It may have been a misunderstanding on my part or every time I called, when I make calls. I just felt like I had time to cancel still but they didn’t let me.

The neighbor’s house across the street was broken into so I decided to purchase a home security system. The Frontpoint sales guy knew what he was talking about and looking at reviews and how I could set their system up, I liked the fact that it was self-service because I am in a rural area and can’t get landline service where I’m at. It was simple to set up the system. Once I ordered it, a box came with the equipment and instructions. Everything was labeled and the system itself is basically just magnets. So, when I pull them apart, it sets off the alarm. If I put a magnet on the door frame and the door itself, it pulls those magnets apart whenever I swing it open. They also have the doorbell feature with the camera that has an app for the phone where I can access over my mobile but I haven’t set it up yet.

Also, they have a piece of equipment that measures the frequency of sound and it’s supposed to measure if glass breaks. But I don’t know how well that works or not. So that is my concern because we have a sliding glass door at the back of the house and I don’t know if the sensor would turn off in that. Moreover, I had mentioned to the sales guy that I live on a farm and only have one neighbor across the street and it’s quite a distance. I wanted to make sure that the alarm was loud enough that they could hear it but it is not really that loud. There could be a way to turn it up. Nonetheless, the system has been good and I’d recommend Frontpoint.

I wanted a security system for my house so I would know if somebody broke in and another one for my business because my insurance plan doesn’t work without it. Frontpoint was my first choice for both. I like the price and it's easy to install by myself. They also work if the power goes out. It works off a satellite and doesn't need internet.

To install, you need to go to their website where their app tells everything, down to how to peel the tape off and stick the door or glass break sensor on. Then it will test the system for you, any window or door open and closed. When you're done, you call Frontpoint and they will ask you whether you want to do a dummy system for a few days to get used to it, in case you accidentally trip an alarm or want to alert the authorities, you can start that day, which is what I did because I already had the Frontpoint system at my house.

The features are good. I had gotten everything that was required by my insurance company for my business. We just needed door sensors and glass breaks. Overall, what they offer is great and if you're willing to pay some more money, you could get whatever you want in terms of security. I can't stay logged into both my business and my house system at the same time so I usually just keep my smartphone logged into my house so I get alerted if anything happens.

But I had a problem installing their system, so I called the helpdesk and the guy I talked to was extremely helpful and patient. He walked me through the process of making sure that the magnets were connecting correctly.

My wife wants a camera because we worry about mail theft and I've been fixed to see what's on sale. However, I usually do things by trial and error. If I did this wrong, the consequences are bad. I’m not sure if I did a good job or not and the only way to find out is if we’re gonna be house broken into or if somebody will invade us while we’re there. Getting a home security system was something I always wanted to do. I've gotten estimates from other companies and I had spoken to a friend of mine who had recently gone with Frontpoint, and he raved about it. I checked with Frontpoint to get the costs and how to set it up. I was impressed with their service and the ability to set it up myself was the ultimate reason why I decided to go with them. And, they didn’t push to sell additional products. They tried to keep it to a minimum because I had a limited budget. I appreciated their honesty but I decided to go with extra things on my own.

The installation was easy. The online instructions were self-explanatory and it came with some in the box with the equipment as well. I just needed somebody to help me through the installation, so I called them a few times. I spoke to a couple of reps who checked on things that were a bit different in my house than some other folks' house. I'm somebody who wanted to make sure I was doing things right so I relied on them to verify that. And they walked me through it and stayed with me on the line. It only took a couple hours for me to hook it up and everything worked out great.

All the features are so easy to use from the panel to the window sensors and even the fire detector that I put upstairs. What I like most about the system is having the app to be able to check on the house at any point in time to make sure that things are okay. Overall, the whole package is great and the quality of the equipment is very good.

The only disappointing thing, but I don't think there's any way around it, is that the equipment itself has double inches of tape that goes on to the unit. I had to move on with the glass break sensor and I couldn’t get the tape that was on the wall off it. But to be able to move the equipment from room to room is simple. Also, they included tapes in the package for free. I could call Frontpoint and they were more than willing to send me as many free tapes or even window sensors as I needed it. When it got warmer in summertime and I wanted to open the windows but I wanted the alarms to still arm, they gave me 15 additional magnets for free to allow me to do that, which was great too.

For the initial purchase of the system, the cost was well within the range that I wanted to spend so I was happy with that. The monthly cost of $45 was a bit much but I knew that depending on what company you go with, the prices do vary. My friend might have gotten a different package but his system was about $10 cheaper, but it wasn’t something that was gonna make me turn away from going with Frontpoint. I read a lot about them and looked at the reviews, checked out the company, and everything sounded great. So, paying the additional $10 premium was working in the end.

I live alone and not that I was ever worried about a break-in but I thought that having a home security system was good for the safety factor of what could happen. Also, it was good for the reduction in the homeowner's insurance which ended up being huge for me. Now that I have the system, I have the peace of mind that when I'm away from the house, things are okay. And I feel so much better than I never realized before.

I have referred Frontpoint to other people. I told them that every single rep who I spoke to whether it was customer service or technical person were all fantastic. I've spoken to so many of them and it was like talking to the same one over and over as far as their demeanor and the way they handle themselves. They didn't get frustrated with really dumb questions that I may have asked. What I like most about them is they make me feel like I'm part of their family and that they are looking out for me. The other companies that I've spoken to just sounded like they were reading off of cards. At Frontpoint, they take the time to explain and they have a secure customer service on all ends in my dealings with them.

We bought a home security system mostly for the fire monitoring and Frontpoint had good reviews. We worked out the price point and it was better than comparable companies. My girlfriend dealt with their customer service and she seemed pretty happy with it. And the installation instructions were pretty straightforward. The installation was easy and we're pretty savvy with that stuff. Also, we bought a lot of sensors to make sure we cover all the doors and windows and putting them up was no big deal. We like the features of the system. It does what we need and there's not a lot of excess crap. We have large dogs and not being forced to take motion sensors was nice. And the fire monitoring was really good. I would suggest Frontpoint over the alternatives.

My husband works out of state and we live out in the country and we have a nine-year-old, so we got a home security system for our peace of mind. There was a local home security company but we had to have a phone line and it was just more aggravation. And we didn't want to go for broadband commercial as ADT. We ended up going to Frontpoint. Every interaction that we’ve ever had with Frontpoint reps has always been very friendly and very caring.

When my husband hooked everything off and we eventually went lost, the guy was so helpful and even gave us options to try and to send help for few days, getting used to the system before going lob with it. Our system is always up and running but anytime that I’ve had an issue, I’ve never hanged up, disappointed or not had an issue resolved. The reps always go above and beyond what could help or satisfy the need. The installation was very easy but it just took time setting stuff up. The most difficult thing was setting up the triangle and the center into the magnet and then getting it wind up correctly.

We have the panel and sensors in our package. We have a special glass break sensor which is a little box that sits in the living and it will radiate a panel of glass breaking within so many feet. Frontpoint’s equipment is great but the volume is too quiet. The panel is at the back door but being that the alarm is 15 feet away, the panel is not that loud whenever the alarm goes off. My husband was told that we can go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and they sell additional speaker that is compatible with our panel.

Since having the system, our sense of security has gone up some. We also have security cameras as well so we have a double peace of mind. My husband recommended Frontpoint to his boss, and his boss is a Frontpoint customer as well now. The rep that my husband spoke to was the same rep that his boss spoke to with setting up his account. The rep got him the same rate that we got and we were told that we and my husband’s boss were going to be given a free month. But I haven’t heard anything about it or received that free amount.

I got the basic package as I didn't really need much and so far, the features are fine. I have Frontpoint's system for six months now and the cost is pretty much on par for what it is.

I've been having issues with one of my daughters who has been sneaking out at night. So, I needed a way to try to keep her safe. I like the fact that Frontpoint checks the sensors regularly to make sure that they are working so I don't have to worry about a sensor being dead. Their customer service were excellent. They've been very helpful and easy to get me where I needed to be. And the installation was pretty smooth. One of the sensors didn't wanna read on my device and I had to go through customer service to do that. Also, when we got some of higher numbered sensors, we were having so many issues and they got those figured out.

The system is running as it should but I wish that I have the ability to select devices to be on and off. I got them on all the doors and stuff that I need but at the same time, especially as the weather warms, I would like to be able to leave a window or a door opened for a while after I've locked it and then set it just at night. It doesn't allow me that variability but that would be a huge plus. Other than that, it's very easy to use and I've been pleased with it.

I'm out a lot and there's no one home. I had used another home security system in the past and Frontpoint has more features like the glass break sensors, which I didn't have before. Frontpoint's monthly rate is lesser than the one I had before but the the equipment costs more. Even so the customer service people from Frontpoint were helpful with my budget. I customized the system. We talked about the size of the house and what I wanted covered. After the equipment came, I wasn’t able to set it up right away and I had second thoughts so I called about sending it back and Frontpoint was able to give me four months free to keep using it and also reduce my rate again, which was great. However, I've noticed my billing doesn’t seem to reflect the reduced rate so it's on my list to call them and find out what they're charging me and why it's not the rate that we discussed.

I also had a little bit of problem with the sensors needing to be reset but I when called the helpline they were able to walk me through every step and then they were able to pull up the system while I was doing it. They told me one that was cleared and I could move to the next one. I also use the Frontpoint smartphone app all the time and I like it. All in all, I feel better having this Frontpoint system than not knowing what's going on at home. I did a lot of comparison and Frontpoint is very competitive and the customer service gives them an advantage.

Besides, I'm gone a lot of times and the house sits empty so I spoke to Frontpoint's sales representatives. During the installation, everything was straightforward. The way the box came with everything packaged and labeled and went together was great. I tried to get into their phone app for their smartphone feature but I gave up because I'm not really computer-literate and so I didn’t get that far. Nonetheless, their cost seems fair compared to the other systems that I was researching. All in all, it's nice to know that the system is there and armed, and I can be notified if something does happen.

The purchase was super easy and my system was overnighted to me and arrived as promised. Not as promised are the following: I expected everything to be ready to go. The control panel is not the one shown in advertisements and on the web. That one, with the touch panel cost hundreds more. What I received instead is old and in need of a plug. So, I could not keep it by the front door since all I have is wall space... unless I want to sit it on the floor. It could be hardwired but this is DIY, right?

Then there is the front door camera. It too must be PLUGGED IN. I was not told that in order to use the camera I would need to run a plug across my porch and up my wall. Great news for a thief.... just unplug it. Looks good too. AND... when I called for help I received not one iota of concern. Not even any questions about why I was upset with the system. I was simply informed that I had to call back during business hours for a refund. You can purchase on a weekend but no sending back in equal easy fashion.

I was nervous about the installation ‘cause I’m not very good at following directions. But my husband did it and it was really easy. The Frontpoint team has been really great too. We’ve even gotten the same person whenever we've had an issue. He remembers us and dealing with them has been really easy.

I have two small children and I work at night and I'm not always here. My parents have always had security systems, which is better to be careful than sorry. I like Frontpoint’s wireless technology even though I feel like there's capacity for more. We had a miscommunication with the reps when I first purchased the Frontpoint. I had a $250 promotional package through my job and it was never put in the account at first. I had called three months later and they had put it on. When I called, they said they were gonna issue a non-payment, but we're still gonna have service for the next five months. Then I found this email clarifying that for the next five months I don't have to pay anything. I checked my credit card two days ago and I saw that they're still taking the $50 out. I was actually gonna call them and ask why that is still going on. But other than that the salesperson was awesome and was a nice guy.

Quality-wise, the backside sticker that they stick on needs to be a little better because it has come off two or three times. There had been three or four occasions that the panel had alarmed and as soon as 10-minutes of the actual alarm, they called me. And when I didn't pick up, they sent a police car to check if everything was okay. That happened three times because my son had pulled the alarm by mistake and disconnected it. But it was fine.

The Frontpoint system is a little pricey but I now understand because it's wireless. There are other promotions that are $35, $30, and $29 but they're wired and we have to have a specialist come in and do it all, or I can do it myself if I want. The equipment is alright and updated and they've definitely updated the website too. It's better to be secure than sorry. Frontpoint is a quality company and users gotta pay a bit more for that quality.

We wanted to keep searching for other companies, but they were a little pushy like we had to set up the system right then and there or we were gonna lose the rate. They sent us the contract which we digitally signed. And then, they sent us the alarm system and put it up ourselves. The installation was easy. It was just plugged in and we had to put it near one of our main doors and stick it to the windows. We thought it was a good system although the quality wasn't the best, but it wasn’t the worst either. It was very sensitive that there were some points where the alarm would just go off.

Now, we live in an apartment in a gated community so we're not using the system anymore. We knew about the contract, but we didn’t think that we had to move out of the house because the people that we were renting it from sold it and we were forced to find another place. It was all within six months of signing this three-year contract with Frontpoint and Frontpoint didn’t wanna help us, so we're stuck with it. They should be more sensitive to their customers in different situations. They were quick to sign us up but when we needed help they weren’t willing to. I would tell others about the contract. If they own their house, then cool. If not, they should think about it.

I had Frontpoint several years ago with my home when I was in Texas. I moved back and I wanted to get a home security system again, so I looked into what was new in the market, but I set up with Frontpoint again because I stuck to what I knew. And I had some equipment that I could re-utilize with the new plan. When I started my service, we had two phone calls and everything else was via email. I talked to the salesperson first and then they tried to upsell me on whatever, but I wasn’t interested in trying to get it.

I knew exactly what I wanted to try to do but I didn’t want to be obnoxious and not listen to the person's pitch because I didn’t know everything. It wasn’t a big deal but the only thing was the misunderstanding on the control module. I was led to believe that since I had an old model, I could have one upstairs and one downstairs, but in actuality, the system only supports one control module. And I found that out when I spoke to the tech person when I was doing my install.

It was a self-install system and it wasn’t too hard. I called the tech person because I was trying to understand the process for syncing my old sensors with the new system, and I had old sensors when I had it previously. She walked me through that and it was too easy. I went around the house and stuck stuff to the walls and doors and windows. The new equipment is all digital and it has the Wi-Fi capability, so I can connect to the internet. With regards to the door and the window sensors, I prefer the old ones because they are slimmer but sufficient. However, things may have changed between now and then. There's a lot more competition out there in the market now. Others have camera functions, like the little doorbell cameras that are much more reasonably priced than what Frontpoint is advertising right now.

My wife and I did the installation and it was just a matter of sticking stuff on the doors that took about 10 minutes. I really like the system, especially the cell phone app. It's one of the main reasons I got Frontpoint. The app has made it so much more convenient as I can keep an eye on my house from far away and it tells me when a door is open. It's easy. Like if I forget to set the alarm all I got to do is get on my phone and push a button. My only complaint is the panel is just plugged into the wall and not really mounted, which I might have to hire a contractor to do. Other than that, Frontpoint is better than any security system I've seen and I would recommend it to everybody.

I had a home security system and I was looking to improve the system that I had. So far, Frontpoint is exceeding the previous company that I had. I like Frontpoint’s smart home integration and they've been responsive to any technical issues I've had. However, there are a couple of parts that I was supposed to have gotten for free. I had some parts from my old system and they said it would be compatible with my Frontpoint, but it ended up not being. Initially, they wanted to charge me for those parts, but I called and told them that my sales rep said I should have those for free, and they ended up overnighting me all the parts I needed to have the full system that I had previously to match it apples to apples. I told them that I wanted to cancel because I wasn't gonna spend money out of pocket to have the same system I had. But either way, they sent the parts I needed for free and ended up keeping me as a customer, so I was pleased with that.

The smart home integration was important for me. All of our locks, alarm, garage, sometimes even cameras, are all integrated into it. I did the installation and it was easy. I had to remove some hardware from my other system but had I not, it would've been very easy to install something new. The installation instructions given were good. There was one issue we had, but when I called in, they were able to walk me right through with all the problems. The only issue and gripe I have, and they say that they're working on it, is that I don't have a Nest thermostat but an ecobee thermostat.

While ecobee is a smart thermostat, it's not today programmable and works with the Frontpoint dashboard, so if I had one complaint, it would be if they had a bit wider variety of smart home integration tools that they work with. But whatever works for them is very user-friendly and very easy to use, and we use them regularly every day. The security equipment that we have is high quality. It is similar to what I had before but a lot less upfront cost and monthly. I have a good value for what I pay for, so I'm happy.

When I purchased a home security system, it was mainly for temperature controls when I’m away. I had Frontpoint at another previous residence here in Florida and when I move from one residence to another, I researched all the do-it-yourself carriers because some of the other ones had cheaper monitoring rates. However, when I looked at the reviews, the response time and reliability, those were not as great as Frontpoint so I went back to them. Frontpoint's salespeople were very knowledgeable. I've installed a thermostat control that was not manufactured by Frontpoint but still their technical people walked me through. The installation rep was very efficient and also very knowledgeable. During the actual installation, I went online and the online instructions were excellent then I called Frontpoint to activate the monitor. The installation was great. It’s been a few months now and it seemes to work very well.

I recommended Frontpoint to a neighbor of mine. I told him that if he can read a manual, take off the tape and wind up to two items, it would be pretty easy. Since I have known it before, I customized the features of my system. Frontpoint recommended some complimentary things like the thermostat, door controls, a garage door control and things, I just wish that would be either more comprehensive and that they would say that the only thing that has wave technology they can interface with.

In terms of the system's overall quality, it's been fine. However, there’s a software glitch in it and it’s annoying. I called them once and they fixed it. While that didn't bother me, on my monitor or on my phone, it said, “Phone line interruption” so I thought that my system was not working. I called them and they said that it comes up with that and I didn't have to worry about it. They took it off once and it lasted for a week then it was back on again. Still, it doesn’t have any effect on the system other than when I look at it, it looks like it’s a warning.

Also, finding the temperature controller that would interface with the system that I feel comfortable with and would give me the features that I needed when I was away that tell me when the temperature was too hot or cold was difficult. But once I found one, I called them up to interface it and it was fine. But it would have been easier if they would have provided a list of 20 vendors that all work with their system. Other than that, their customer service has been great and their cost is very reasonable. My wife feels more secure when she's here alone, knowing that she’s got an alarm and a panic button next to the bed if there’s any medical or burglar type of activity. I’ve had Frontpoint on two residences, and I’ve been very happy. Whatever minor problems I ever had with the system, Frontpoint's reliability with their monitoring is on top of the industry.

I purchased a home security system for a couple of reasons. For one, my insurance company would give me a big discount if I did and two, my wife would like one. We had ADT previously and we had a deal going on but that was a mistake and I'm never going back to them again. On the other hand, the sales guy at Frontpoint was of great help when I called and asked questions. He stayed in contact with me until I finally made my decision.

I've had issues with the alarm system a few times and one day he was telling me something which I didn’t quite understand. It was kind of right this moment and I called him up at around 9 PM. He told me simple instructions and I was able to tell my wife at home who is pretty tech savvy herself and we fixed the issue without any problems. I also like Frontpoint's different services. There was power outage in my area and Frontpoint texted me about that. In contrast, ADT doesn’t tell us anything and they don’t tell us if our system is working or not. But I wish Frontpoint's monthly service fee could be a bit cheaper. Otherwise, it's on par with everything else like the parts themselves. Frontpoint is not overly expensive like ADT was charging.

The installation of our Frontpoint system was relatively easy. It's all double-sided tape stuff and you can do it with the app. I had some questions to make sure I was doing it right and the tech support I spoke to on the phone was able to walk me through without any difficulty. I was able to give them brief descriptions of the house and they told me what would work better in a specific area or what would be crappy. We have a 110-pound chocolate Lab who stayed at home and the Frontier guy said our motion sensor system is gonna be kind of messed up because of that. That saved me from spending the money on the part that I wasn’t gonna use or be useful to me, whereas the ADT guy tried to sell me two of them.

The Frontier sales guy got me the package deal of certain things I wanted like the two smoke detectors but I didn’t need something else. And he was able to tweak the deal and make it financially reasonable to do that. And once I was set with what I needed, I was good to go. It wasn’t like the ADT guy who came up, showed up to install the stuff, drilled in my wall for the panel and said, "Here's the home assessment. In order to truly secure your home you need to buy $10,000 worth of equipment.” I told him that they gave me $2,000 worth of equipment and that’s what they have to put in my home. And for the next half an hour, he told me to make the final choice -- to either install the equipment that I got or take the panel out and leave. Fortunately, at no point did I ever feel pressured or pushed through anything like that with Frontpoint.

My husband has started traveling a lot with his job, so we kind of live all the way up on a mountain and I wanted some added security when he's not home. My dad has Frontpoint and we went with it as well. Having the system makes me feel a lot more comfortable. Where we live on top of the mountain, we are far away from fire hydrants and things like that, and I have four dogs, which are like my children. So, we have the fire monitors and all that kind of stuff which makes me feel a lot better especially if something happens that I couldn’t leave to get my dogs out. Everything is going so good so far. And I'd definitely recommend Frontpoint.

I also really like the app on my phone and being able to turn it off and on on my phone. That’s my favorite. The system is cheap ‘cause I have a video camera, but I would like to upgrade at some point to the video. And I didn’t do any research, but just from talking to other people, a more traditional system like ADT and all that kind of stuff is pretty expensive compared to Frontpoint which is cheaper. The representatives have been very responsive as well, so everything has been fine. My husband took care of the installation and it seemed easy. He didn’t have any difficulties.

I had used ADT in the past and they had good reviews. They offered all the same things that Frontpoint offered. It was a bit of a give and take because I didn’t wanna have to install my own stuff because there weren’t installation fees and other setup fees. My initial calculations came out to be very similar products but Frontpoint was not as expensive. I had a lot of interactions with the reps at Frontpoint and they were always very patient and very articulate. They had to be because they also had to coach me through installation and all the different features and testing if there was any kind of malfunction. The staff was always really helpful.

The installation was very straightforward. Some of the pamphlets for the machinery itself were not that clear, but when I called in, the individual was able to provide information that I needed. I've had quite a few pieces that stopped working. I've also had at least two replacement panels and at least one replacement doorknob. Despite the inconvenience of having to troubleshoot those items, it was diagnosed quickly and the replacements got out to me very fast, and I was appreciative of that. Also, even though the representative said that I would get a late fee if I didn’t return my item quickly, I never got a late fee. I would have been vocal if I had gotten one because the machinery breaking is not my problem but theirs. I'm a full time worker, so mailing things back isn't on my priority list until I've got time. When I mailed it back, it was a week or two later and I never got any hassle about it, which I was grateful for.

I like the features of the system and the only feedback I have is the panel is a little dated. I'm active duty, so I move a lot and every home that I buy, I get a security system in it. Most panels that I've had were touch screen and if I was in a home I was renting that had a security system, it was touch screen as well. I like that a little better. Other than that, all of Frontpoint’s features are exactly the same as every other system I've ever had. The cost is comparable for sure, if not, a little less. I was paying $55 for ADT and I pay Frontpoint around $45 or maybe a little less than that. I didn’t have to pay installation or the cost of any of my equipment, which I appreciated. I gave them all my pieces of equipment without any additional fees.

Frontpoint has the smash and crash protection and when someone comes in and disconnects our system, it's not gonna unplug or smash our system and it's not gonna stop it from transmitting. I did the research on it and I got the system several months ago. Other companies don’t check about that because the other companies I've had didn’t offer that feature, so if you didn’t do your own research, you wouldn’t know that. However, Frontpoint is the only company that I've had an issue with regards to having to replace equipment. I've never had to replace a panel before and never had to replace an electronic before, so that was frustrating especially because everything’s done remotely and Frontpoint doesn’t offer technicians.

Within a couple weeks of me having the new doorknob from Frontpoint, it stopped working and decoupled from the system. And because they didn’t have any technicians, they’ve couldn’t have anyone come out and fix it for me. All their troubleshooting was done over the phone. Ultimately, what ended up happening was I paid a kid in my neighborhood $15 to break into my house, which defeats the purpose of having a security system if I can pay a kid 15 bucks to break into my house. That is not in their favor, so if there's an opportunity for them to put technicians and staff, that would increase their net cost.

They could probably look into the quality and put some disclaimers on there like, “This may become uncoupled from your system. It's not unusual for that to happen. Make sure you carry your key with you at all times.” Even so, that only comes with one key. If a friend was looking to stay on a budget but wanted to keep a security system, I'd say go with Frontpoint which offers a lot of the same features as other companies that I’ve worked with and does it on a budget.

We moved from another neighborhood and my alarm system company was going to charge me to move the system and set it up. Then, when we moved again in October to Mississippi, they were gonna charge me another fee. So I decided to use Frontpoint since their system is portable and I can take it with me. The rep who came out worked with me on the price. He did a comparable pricing and he gave me the cheapest. Furthermore, their customer service has been fine. Whenever my husband calls in because he has a problem, they answer all the questions.

I got a pre-selected package and paid in lump sum for it. However, we had to put the system together ourselves and it's not that easy. My husband had a problem but once he called in, they talked him through it and it was fine. What I'm gonna do is, once I move to a home since we're in a rental, I'd get some type of cameras outside. The camera that they gave us was just for one room inside and I need something on the outside as well. Once, I was bringing grocery and I forgot that I had an alarm. The system went off but nobody called. I thought the police was supposed to. So I'm not sure how that works but I'll get that figured out when we get to a home that we're gonna be in. Frontpoint is a good company and I recommend them.

The installation was easy and pretty simple for my husband and so far, the equipment is good. But our Internet connection is not always so great so it's kinda slow as far as the feed on the cameras. It's not real time and the picture on the security is a little delayed. But that's more of an Internet connection issue than anything else. Other than that, the cost of their service is pretty good. With Frontpoint, I can see people up the driveway and we know that if the alarm went off something would happen. I would tell others we have Frontpoint and hope something like that would work for them.

Most people from Frontpoint who I talked to have been very helpful too. Plus, anytime I've called, they have been willing to answer my question. After they took me one time on where to go looking in how to hook everything up and how to save everything on the computer, the installation was very simple. I was able to plug and play exactly like they said. And I love the features I have. I'm able to look at my cameras and I'm glad that it has a reminder telling me if I didn't set it. I also love the security of having Frontpoint as well as being able to make sure that my wife is safe, that my dog is all right and that everything is right at home.

We wanted to be secure and know who’s coming home and have a monitor. We purchased a Frontpoint home security system and it’s our first security provider. Compared with others, their offers, the facilities, and the equipment are good. The equipment was mailed to us. Then my husband and I did the installation, which was easy and step by step with the app. We didn’t have to wait for someone to come and do it. The installation instructions were easily understandable. It even had some kind of animations on how to do it.

The quality of Frontpoint’s equipment is worth its cost. It’s nominal and that’s one reason we took the system. I like the features offered too. We customized to have a doorbell camera because whenever someone is ringing the doorbell, we can see who it is and it’s easy for my kids, too. We don’t have to open the door without knowing who it is. I also have a kind of camera that I monitor what’s happening in the living room inside when I’m away from there. Even the camera records the clip in a good resolution.

The functionality of the system is working good whatever it is supposed to do. There was just a minor hitch that I encountered a couple of days wherein I started noticing that the camera was not recording the video. It used to record small clips for the doorbell and right now, it’s not recording. I suspected because of the video clips. Frontpoint could have an indicator somehow. If there is a system that would tell us off when the camera is getting full, it’s useful for us to know ahead and then, remove the old clips out. But Frontpoint is overall satisfactory for me and I would recommend them to my friends. They also handled our situation well. Every time we had an issue and we called up, it was resolved quickly.

They were the best and with them, I didn’t have to have a contract for a certain period of time like the others. When the equipment came, the system was missing a smoke detector. Frontpoint may not have shipped it but as soon as I called them, they shipped the replacement. They were responsive and I wasn’t talking to a bunch of answering machine type. I travel once in a while so I thought we'd look into Frontpoint. It wasn't too expensive, it seemed to have the type of monitoring that we were looking for and it was rated high. The installation was easy. Any time I needed to call them when I would install it, they were great. I was talking about the different codes I could use on the unit and about some placement issues and they were helpful. The instructions were good too. I put the door sensors up and it was easy to do.

I wanted the door monitoring so I told them how many doors I had, how many windows we had, and the type of windows we had. They suggested the door monitors and the motion sensors and that was all I needed. I can always upgrade more if I want to later. The only concern I had with them was about the motion sensors. I like to put it up high in a corner of a wall so that it's out of sight but they said that the range might be limited if I do that. However I still haven't had any problems with that. It makes me feel that I'm more secure if I leave home. Especially if I leave with the water sensor, in case we have storms. The water sensor would go off which is helpful and the police and my neighbors would be called if something happens. That makes me feel a little more secure.

From a large apartment building with security in New York City, I was moving to a home in a midsized town across the country that I wasn’t familiar with and I was warned that for the size of place, there’s high crime. I did some quick research on security systems and a lot of things and I liked that Frontpoint offers their systems over cellular network. This means they weren't tied into the power or the internet which would be easy to just snip from the outside. Also, Frontpoint has more options in terms of plans, payments, scales of features and things like that.

Their reps talked to us about where we were moving and what type of security we were interested in having. They also talked through some of the features and how they worked, and I found them to be really helpful in making me understand that and what made their service unique which kind of jived with what I was seeing in my own research. And from there, I selected features to customize my package. They talked through their approach and their plans of it as well.

Installing the system was super easy and pretty straightforward. I was doing a lot of setup in my new place and this was one of the easier pieces. The system has been working well too. I use the doors and windows much more regularly than I use the motion detectors. That’s more useful for when we’re out and away. The system also gives me sort of layers that I can turn on and off, and I like that. Additionally, I just like knowing the system's there and that our neighbors see from the street that it’s there. Frontpoint works great for us.

When I signed up with them, it was pretty easy because I was able to do most of it online and everything went smoothly. Then I did a self-installation. Everything was all written down on the website which took me through all the steps so it was really hard to mess it up. If I missed a step, I'd know. The package that I have has a keypad and sensors for the window, one door, and motion. But I don’t use the motion sensor because my dog is too big so he sets it off.

In terms of the quality of the equipment, it's good and it's very inconspicuous. But I've had a couple of issues with the sensors coming on or acting like the door is open when it's not. Like if I turn on the alarm and then I open the door, sometimes it doesn’t register that the door is back shut. I have to adjust it a couple of times and used positioning fixture that it's really immaculately aligned near the wall so there was not a lot of wiggle room for air. Other than that, its cost is worth it to be safe.

All of our neighbors have a home security system and have recommended that we get one too because we have a huge amount of crime in our area. Frontpoint's sales team was very good. We did everything by phone and discussed what we might need and then, placed the order. It arrived via post five days later. They were also very helpful in terms of the advice they were giving and were good at recommending things that we needed without trying to give us things that we didn’t need.

It was the first system that we had. We got the top of the range system with a few additional bits and bolts. The cameras for the front doorbell and room cameras are very good and easy to use. It’s a fairly intuitive system to use and overall, it makes me feel pretty secure. We’ve had a couple of false alarm but it was us really. But there's no fault with the system. It’s just down to us operating it correctly.

The customer's service's speed to pick up the call has been quite impressive as well. For instance, we accidentally set off the smoke alarm once. Within 40 seconds, there was somebody on the phone saying, “Are you okay? Is there a fire? Do we need to call the fire brigade?” However, one little niggly thing that we found is that the stickers for the door sensors and the door sensors themselves were not quite as good as staying where they should be. They tend to come off and flip off quite a lot. But the installation process apart from that was very good and easy.

In terms of the actual value for money, it was pretty good. We have to pay a little bit just because we don’t come from the US. I moved from Europe in the summer last year so we didn't have a credit rating yet. When we initially bought it, there were some special offers which weren’t available. So we had to pay $200 more than what we would have done than other people because the offer was only available if I went through a credit rating process. But I would recommend Fronpoint definitely.

Frontpoint provided me with the options that the other company did not. I was getting more from Frontpoint and paying the same thing I was paying with the other company for less. The day that I installed it, I called them up and they walked me through step by step as exactly what to do. I had problems with the front door camera and the second person that I called told me exactly what to do. I took the control box off the wall, took it to the door and then, reset the doorbell camera. And that worked perfectly. I called them with every little thing when I was installing the system myself and their people did not make me feel like I was a dummy.

I’ve added a camera towards the back of my house and the front door camera. I was away Christmas time and I got two visitors. With the camera, I was able to see who came to my front door and that was important to me. I have an accounting service and I went to the house of one of my clients. I don't have to come in the house to arm or disarm it, and I've got two cameras hooked up to where I can record something I want. The security system is a babysitter at the same time. If I want to check in if the kid gets home from school early, I can check it and make sure he's floating around the house. Plus, I can see when the door has been opened, what time it's been closed and everything else.

I am building a little house and it was broken into twice. I talked to a client and told her that I was broken into and she said I needed to get Frontpoint. I told her I don't have internet, which I needed to have with the company I had before, and she said that Frontpoint is all via satellite. So I called and the young man I spoke to was awesome. His name is Danny and I told him that he didn't have to go through all the explanations. But he went on saying that he needed to explain everything. He got me through customizing the front of the windows. I have three windows and they wind out, and somebody would have to break them so it's not necessary to have the piece that is on the door. Besides, I don’t have any windows at the back of the house because it's a wooded area.

Danny told me exactly what I needed and it was exactly what I wanted even though he talked about everything, like the doorbells, monitors as well as motion detectors. In doing the installation, I hooked it up all by myself and it was easy after I wrapped my head around it. At first, I was trying to do something opposite of what I needed to do and the gentleman I spoke to was having a hard time explaining to me that I was on the right track. At that time, I was already tired so I told him I'd be trying it again. When I came back, all I needed were the stickers that go with it. I was able to hook it up in five minutes. It was quick and easy. All in all, everything has been awesome. I've had a wonderful experience with Frontpoint and I have told several people about them.

I purchased a home security system to secure my home, and Frontpoint's system is more technologically advanced than ADT, which I had before. I like the ability to use the phone and the Wi-Fi aspect of the system feels good. I installed the system myself, and my wife and I were a little bit skeptical that I could do such a thing. But in the end it went pretty well. It wasn’t very complicated and the directions were pretty good. Customer service also did a good job.

My package is more of the basics, and the one thing that we struggled with a bit was that we did not get sensors for windows. Instead we got the motion detectors. The only challenge with that is because we’ve got the motion detectors when we’re in the house in the lower level, the system would have to be turned off because any movement would set off those detectors. Whereas if we had the windows, we could arm it and we’d be covered against the heat that comes from when we try to open the window. We didn’t put windows in this package and we question whether or not that was a good idea, but in the end, it’s not a big deal. Frontpoint is not dramatically cheaper than ADT but it’s good quality and I haven't had any issues with it. I would recommend it.

I've been with them for half a year now and so far, their service and cost have been good. It started off a little dicey, but they did a really good job of rectifying the misunderstanding at the beginning and sent me some extra monitors. They followed up after I got the last of the items, but I haven’t had a chance to circle back with them.

There were two times they alerted us when we were trying to show our house that we were selling but everything seemed to work out. And their response time was really fast. However, the cost of service is advancive very fairly. Other than that, Frontpoint is very recommended.

I was shopping around and when I called to see what was going on with Frontpoint, we liked the idea that we were able to control the system by our phones like if we weren't home. We use the smartphone feature to disarm the alarms and to re-arm it when we're in the car. We also like that if the electric went out, our system would still work and would start running again.

When I ordered my system, it came really fast and when I needed help because for some reason my garage door wouldn’t work when I set it up, they were helpful and really good. I was trying to get the two points close enough where it would recognize if the garage door was opened or closed and the guy gave us a couple of tips to turn it around or to put it in a different area. I like the quality of the equipment and for its cost, it's worth it. They didn’t like us to customize our package but Frontpoint gave us an extra door sensor and heat sensors for the hallway. So all this while they have promised to protect our home without even realizing that the address has been incomplete with no Unit number??! So if some ** had actually gone down while they were supposedly "keeping a watch" they would not even have known what unit no. to send the emergency services to?? And for over 2 YEARS we went to bed thinking we were SAFE!!!

Called in to cancel the rest of the contract period of 8 months and they want us to pay $287 still?? What about the approximately $1500 that we have already paid you for a service you technically couldn't even have provided if God forbid the need for it came up for whatever reason? Even Amazon kicks up a notification if the address is incomplete, and a HOME PROTECTION PROVIDER doesn't have an automatic system to check if the address is invalid?? I can't tell if this is a horrible joke of some sort!

Frontpoint has exceeded our expectations. My wife and I just moved into our house in the last year and I thought of getting a home security system for peace of mind. I’ve spent some time online kind of reading up on some of the home security systems that you could set up yourself. After reading on Frontpoint's website, I determined that they were the best fit for us. They have some pretty great reviews too.

Frontpoint has great customer service. Everybody who I’ve talked to has been very personable, incredibly friendly and helpful that once I initially started to speak to the customer service rep, I was sold pretty quickly. This also includes the gentleman who I was speaking to while the system was setting itself up as well as the rep I talked to when I called to make some changes to the account. Frontpoint's customer service team is doing a great job of putting the customer and our concerns first which made me feel very efficient.

I've been very happy with the product as well. We got the basic package wherein when the door opens, it sets off the alarm and if anything unusually happens at home, we would be alerted. When I installed the system, I started up using the app and with it, the whole set-up process was very straightforward and went pretty smoothly. I initially asked about giving extra window or two, but the rep recommended the shatter sensor that goes off when there’s shattered glass versus individual window sensors and that saved us some money. I would tell my friends to get Frontpoint.

I grew up having an alarm and I enjoy having that extra level of security. With Frontpoint, I like that it wasn’t a long installation process and I was impressed with their customer service. They were really nice, easy to talk to and answered my questions. That was what I wanted in an alarm system. When I called for information, I ended chatting with a representative for about 20 minutes when making my decision. The rep was so helpful. When Black Friday sale was on, I went ahead and purchased the system right then.

I had some time to decide about keeping their system. I called again with a couple of questions about setting up the system and I got through on the second ring and at both times someone was always available to talk to me. The installation process was easy. It took about two minutes and it was just peel-and-stick. I decided where I wanted to put things and then I used these included adhesives. The quality of the pieces is good. But one thing that I was a little disappointed with was the motion detectors. They had said that something under 40 pounds wouldn’t set it off. I have a 12-pound dog and she does set the motion detectors off. So I haven't been able to use that as much as I planned on but otherwise I'm happy with their system.

I enjoy their smartphone features although I don't use it as much. I tend to use the box in the house. But it is nice to have that option because sometimes I walk out of the house and I forgot to set it and then I can just set it on my phone, which is great. I would recommend Frontpoint to someone and I would site the availability of the staff and the customer service. The few times when I have had a false alarm, it has been really easy to handle that. Frontpoint called me right away and when I called back after checking what was going on I got through to someone immediately. I can tell that I am a priority. So far everything's been really great. Once we figured out what was setting the motion detector off with the dog I've had no problems with it.

I bought a home security system for my daughter’s new home. I did some research and it appeared that Frontpoint was supposed to be the Number 1 in the area. I liked the fact that they had the stand-alone keypad and it wasn't wired. My interaction with the reps was okay. A lot of the stuff had to be done yourself. They mail the box and there was a lot of do-it-yourself stuff. My concern was it is for my daughter and it’s her first home. She may not be capable to do some of the stuff. The representative said not to worry about it and that they’ll walk us through every step of the way. He also said that he'll be my representative for life. I asked, "What if you leave the company?" And he said that he’s not leaving the company and to call him for anything I ever want or need.

That was another selling feature. I hadn’t committed at that point, but when he said that, it was great to know. I can pick up the phone and call a person who knows us and knows our situation. That was the selling point that helped me seal the deal. However, that didn’t turn out to be the case at all. Once, the sale was done, I no longer had any contact with him. They said I gotta call tech support. I insisted that I was told that I would always have to call only one person. They said that the salespeople don’t work anymore after. I thought that the rep just said that to make the deal. I tried to reach out to him a few times after that and it was hard getting in touch with him.

I have mixed experiences with customer service. We had called several times because we had different things going on and some things were not working. Most of the time, they were helpful. But one time, in particular, the person I spoke to was incredibly condescending. He was rude and obnoxious. Tech support was able to get us where we needed to be the majority of the time, except for that one particular time. It left a bad taste in my mouth at some point in general because I got the maiden switch and the salesperson, and then everything was so do-it-yourself. That was not necessarily bad, but if you do it yourself, you need to make sure you can get the professional support you need.

My daughter installed did and she did not put up the sensors in order. She ordered some additional sensors and they weren't activated as timely as the other one. It was wrinkle and it didn't work as smoothly. So, the sensors weren't wound up correctly and it would say, "Don't Fix. Open." The gentleman who was rude was the one I was trying to work with to rename the sensors and rewind them up. But he was the worst and my daughter never got her sensors wound up. Right now, there’s the one sensor that always says it's open, but we got a screen door and it’s fine. We just need to deal with a less than perfect. It is unfortunate, but we rather not deal with the headache. We've got the doorbell and we can see and we like that. The doorbell rings and we can see who's at the door. That's a nice security piece. Other than that, it’s just like any other security system.

The home security system was for peace of mind and when I’m gone for a whole weekend, I would know if something happens, even if it was just a false alarm. I'd rather pay for a false alarm than file an insurance claim. Frontpoint is a good product but their siren is not very loud and their cameras are awful and a little bit more expensive. But their customer service is probably one of the best. I didn’t have to wait on hold very long and everyone there was really nice if you can understand them. I was with them for 10 minutes and mostly it was because I was asking questions about how their system worked. They were trained well in customer service. And they didn’t jump to conclusions or talked to me like I was dumb.

The installation process of the Frontpoint system was really good and the directions were perfect. It was a self-install and really easy to do. It came with how to put the battery in and everything was paired right and numbered correctly. The app was really cool too and I was able to launch it once installed. One of my favorite features about it is the GPS location. And I would get a reminder if left the house without arming it, which was a really cool feature especially if I would be on a vacation or in North Carolina. I have six sensors and it’s just the basic package. The quality of Frontpoint's equipment is good, but their starter model unit looked outdated compared to their competition and it would cost an additional $150 more to get the touch screen panel. That was the price of three more sensors. But my experience with them had been good and they had a 30-day guarantee.

I used to rent and the owner had Frontpoint. The salesman talked to me about the standard discounts but didn’t go a long way of like what he could do and I believe that he would do to anyone. But it was good, it was really explained and everything got in time. And then the installation was somewhat complicated. There were some things like some of the sensors actually came with a wrong tag to them and so even though there is like the serial number and a big tag with it when the app actually said, "Okay, so now if you're ready, grab sensor number one and install it," and then I did it said, "Okay, I can't see that you did. Try it again. Open the door. Close the door," several times and then I realized that actually, the sensor that had the tag number one was actually the 12th. And so I had to rename it all and it was a little complicated.

And there's a little extra foam, adhesive like the tape for it but not a lot so sometimes you have to provide a little bit more to make sure that they work. But in the end, everything was alright. Overall it could have some improvements. There are some features that are offered but they are way too expensive and therefore I didn’t get them. It's just that it's not within my price range.

And also the functionality itself sometimes, the control system, with the warning on the app saying that there was a panel failure and every time that I try to call them like a couple of times and the first time they said, "Oh yeah, let's try to reset the system." And then the second time it happened again. It happens every day and if you reset the system they say, "Okay, system is alright, system is working. Nothing major." But there is apparently a panel failure. And then the third time that I called the person just said, "Just leave it. Ignore it. It's alright." But it's kind of weird to ignore a warning on your app of your alarm system so the control panel had a communications failure. But I've been ignoring for the past month. I'm not doing anything anymore so they probably don’t even know that there's something to fix.

It wasn’t expensive but it’s just not as good as what I had with a Nest. We bought our products on Black Friday and got a great deal on it. They had pretty much everything I wanted plus two additional things, and it was for half the price that we would have paid.

The installation was a little tougher on some of the things though. There were some missing details that could have been in the instructions as far as the alignment for each of the things. But as soon as I called them up and they explained what needed to happen, it was perfectly clear. The job took an hour to do the whole house so it was not that long either. Also, since my door wasn’t aligned properly, one of the sticky things for the home sensors fell off. It had anything to do with the Frontpoint. We just moved to a new house and it's big, so we wanna have a monitoring system and have it secure. I did some research and with Frontpoint, the monthly fees are fixed and I don’t have to worry about paying more when I add more devices. Plus, the devices are mine at the end of the day. If I decide to move to any other place, I just take my devices and put it in my new house. My interaction with the rep was very simple. I just needed the form correct and then once the rep called me, I asked a few questions about the contract duration, the ownership of it, the device and the installation fees. He solved all those questions and whatever the price. Then it was just scheduling the installation and the delivery of the devices for the next week or so.

The installation was super easy. I spent five minutes reading the instructions, which was more of a handbook. It then took me to a couple of YouTube videos and then it was just applying some glue. I'm using mostly a couple of sensors for monitoring. I understand that they have camera integration in their devices and at the moment, I'm just using those two. I'm using the app on my phone to control the alarm and it's working well. Overall, the equipment's quality seems okay. However, I had one small hiccup last week. One fire alarm was dispatched while nothing was happening at that moment. The device was sensing a false fire alarm.

I have friends who pay even more than I do, but they don’t have the same quality of equipment and some have the old panel with just a keyboard. Frontpoint has the superior-made equipment. Moreover, communication-wise, they are good. They keep me updated in terms of products. Plus, the billing is really simple. They just charge the credit card and I don’t have to be worried about paying the bill. However, I would like to see more devices in the future just to keep expanding my equipment with the technology that they offer. I sleep better now, knowing that there's someone monitoring me and my family.

We had a couple of issues that when we called, the rep walked us through it. There was an instance when the rep that a part was not working and he told us that it might be bad wiring, so he ended up sending us a new one. It worked out very well. We easily customized the system and it was very easy to install on the phone. We have a daughter that's in middle school, and she has it loaded on her phone, so she disarms it and arms it very easily. So it's really been really been good for us so far. We haven't had any problem with it. Overall, the equipment has good quality and the cost was very reasonable.

Someone offered a good review on Frontpoint so I figured just to wing it and give them a chance. I looked at other companies but Frontpoint's security system was easy to install yourself. They were also helpful on the phone and they answered all the questions that I had regarding smoke alarms, cameras and things like those. I told them what I needed and they offered it. Additionally, they gave us 60 days to try it for our office and see if we'd like it. Installation was super easy and very simple. The equipment is all just kind of intuitive self-stick wherein you could put it where you need it as long as you have an outlet and it works great. I’m very happy with the cost too. It seems that I’m paying for exactly what I should be getting for it. Overall, it's been a good experience with Frontpoint and I'd suggest this company to my friends.

I replaced my ADT system with Frontpoint mainly because Frontpoint's system is a wireless, cellular system. I customized the package to fit what I wanted. Setting the system up was easy and I could do most of it. I just put up the different sensors and checked them online if they were connected. I had a couple of questions during that time and the reps walked me through them without a problem. The cost of the system and the quality of the equipment are good.

I've been having some issues with Frontpoint and I'm still looking at changing security systems. First, my panel is freezing so that means that there's no alarm system sometimes as I walk in because it's frozen. But the installation was good. I just got some systems that were defective so I had to wait for a new batch or a new round but other than that, it was okay. Overall it was easy setting it up.

I used to be with another company, who charged me more money by the time that I used their alarm and they wired the house. It's not convenient with them. Frontpoint is better and I’ve had a great experience with them. Their reps are very good across the board. Every time, when I call them, they ask me for service and I explain to them whatever I needed. The installation went easily too. Plus, the features of the system are very good and are working well.

My son researched on the internet and dealt with Frontpoint. He had a really good experience with them so I went ahead with them. Their reps seemed like part of the family. The young fellow that I talked to was named Kevin and I bought from him. I'm 62 years old this year and I could mess up a computer no matter what it is. They walked me through and helped several times when I tripped the system when it wasn’t an actual alarm.

The installation was simple for me as Noah had already put his in and he came down and put mine right in. He had gotten his six months before I had gotten mine. And I like mine a lot better. I have the system screen, the feature where it takes a picture of the person trying to disarm or arm the system, and the doorbell feature. I really enjoy these features.

The cost is about average, though it might be a little less than some of the other ones for the same features. Once, my son and I were celebrating something up at a bar with everybody's wives and kids. We received a call at about the same time saying that we had somebody breaking in. It ended up being my dog at my house and not at Noah's house at Huntsville. They seemed like really good folks and straightened that out.

Frontpoint seemed to have a decent rate and when I looked at the ratings, they were rated high as compared to a couple of other companies so I went with them. Their reps were really helpful. I installed the system myself and the experience was a little tricky in a couple of places, but I got it figured out. There were instances wherein they called because we were stupid we didn't always turn the alarm off and their response time was awesome. The response time was quick and we were happy with our Frontpoint experience. I would tell my friends to go with Frontpoint instead of ADT because ADT is trying to rip you off.

I wanted a security system and my daughter told me about putting a Frontpoint unit in for herself and I liked the fact that I could do it myself. Installing it was very simple and I just followed the directions. It was step-by-step and the instructions were good. The reps were courteous and very good about answering my questions and helping me out. Plus, they’re good on the calls. If my alarm goes off, they call me quickly. I customized my package and if the area I was trying to secure was large, I did the glass breakage, but if it was a door then it was the little door thing. The features, as well as the smartphone apps were good and the cost was fair. Everything’s been great, I feel safer and I’ve put in another unit since then in a rental property.

My wife is home with the kids all day so she felt safer having a security system. Frontpoint had the best price and service among security companies, so I went with them. The interactions I had with the reps were straightforward in terms of getting a good quote. I did the installation of the system myself and it was one of the easiest and simplest things. The reps walked me through it and it was just like they said it would be. I feel pretty good about the features offered in our system. The smartphone features work very well. We've been on vacation and we felt good about being able to check in and make sure everything was all right. Our Frontpoint security system is very stable and secure. When our toddler unplugged the unit, I got the update on the phone and we fixed it.

We have Frontpoint in our home and our jewelry business. We liked what they had to offer and they're a little more secure. In addition, they have wonderful people and my interactions with them have been amazing. However, one time when we had to replace the cell card in the system, it was a little tedious because they require the consumer to do it and if the consumer is not tech savvy, it would be a nightmare. They should send out a new unit instead of having the customer replace the card in an old unit. My only other issue is that the video cameras are garbage. We have five of them at our shop that they’re supposed to set up and maintain, especially if you have a power or internet outage. In addition, the frame rate is terrible so we have Nest cams we bought to run in conjunction because we needed video. Overall, the customer service is great and the price is right. It’s a good system and we've recommended it to multiple people.

This is my first security system. In fact, it was my father who purchased a Frontpoint system. It connected to technology to lock up with my phone. My family just knew that it was user-friendly and a good price that we could meet. I did the installation myself. The instruction was very clear and the installation was fast. Their features are all very useful especially when you're running out the door. I used the apps for a while but it logged me out so I use it manually. It's very easy to use, very straightforward and it keeps my house safe. The equipment is sturdy, it's where it's supposed to be. Every time I open the door it beeps. It senses everything in my living room. It's very simple and easy to use. I'm sure it will be good for older people as well. It's not so high-tech that you don't understand what it's doing. Frontpoint is compatible with any home. I love Frontpoint.

I live on 68th Street in Philadelphia so I was looking for a home security then. I went straight to Google and Frontpoint was the third security company that popped up. I went by the review and I've seen good reviews with their system. Frontpoint is my first security system ever. The price was not only cheap but their service was amazing too. Their reps were very good. Frontpoint gave me the door motion sensors and the panels, and I installed it myself in 10 minutes. I’m satisfied with my system’s feature. It was just good with what I was looking for at the moment. So far, I’m very secure with Frontpoint. I have it for my business and my own residence, and it’s just great.

The Frontpoint equipment works. We’ve been broken into and the police were here and Frontpoint guys were on the phone. Before getting Frontpoint, we were being broken into so we thought of purchasing a home security system. We chose Frontpoint due to a combination of cost and ratings on online comparisons. The representatives were very responsive and when we asked for something, we got it. We installed the equipment using the online app so it was no problem and the instructions were fine. Everything’s working. But I wish the sensors were more affordable. If we wanted to put more windows for instance, it became too expensive to sensor all the windows. And we wish that a smartphone came with the system.

It was time to purchase a home security system and I liked Frontpoint’s program. I installed the system myself, but the instructions were not as clear as they could have been. Some of the procedures for setting up the motion detectors weren’t all that good. But the service and the equipment work, and we've checked and tried the alarm. Having Frontpoint's security system is a little bit of reassurance.

I bought a home security system back in November for the safety of our family knowing what is going on after moving to a new area. The reviews from other consumers made us decide to do Frontpoint. They work well with our mobile carrier and their price is fair. They have great customer service. Although I had to figure out and do the installation myself, it was relatively easy. The hardest part was figuring out the doorbell -- getting that to work with our wireless router. The system's features were nice. I still have to figure out our little home base station a little bit like when it doesn't take a picture if someone deactivates the alarm. Overall, I feel at ease because I could see who is coming onto our property since I live in a new home.

I got Frontpoint's service for a remote vacation home as I won't be there all the time. I purchased the security system package and was able to customize and add some things to it. I used to have another provider but their technology wasn’t available to connect my phone. So, I appreciate the remote connectivity that Frontpoint has. They have good smartphone features and the overall quality of the equipment is fine. However, I've had one of the sensors falling off the door. I also had a little difficulty during installation at first, which was frustrating, but I got some assistance and it finally worked. The monthly cost of the service is a bit pricey but it's comparable with the other ones out there. Some type of volume discount on the number of sensors would have been good though.
